Zjada Baydass, a 22-year-old Seattle native and rising star for the Palestinian women’s national soccer team, is rewriting the script of what’s possible — playing internationally despite starting soccer at 13, overcoming major injuries, and using the game to bridge divides. Inspired by her father and shaped by her first trip to Palestine since 1948, she sees soccer as a lifeline and a tool for global humanization. Now a UW grad and local coach, she’s turning her passion into action — organizing games for Palestinian kids, mentoring youth, and chasing her World Cup dream one goal at a time…
