- 0:31Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome back to the Business Roundtable podcast. I
- 0:34Speaker 1: am your host, David Carr, founder of Steward Your Business.
- 0:37Speaker 1: We have a great new guest this week, Xavier Serrano,
- 0:41Speaker 1: Marqi Medical. You're going to learn a lot more about
- 0:43Speaker 1: him and his background, picking you from deecue diving, burnout
- 0:49Speaker 1: to hopefully health and well being. We're going to get into,
- 0:52Speaker 1: you know, longevity leadership impact. Xavier. We're glad to have
- 0:56Speaker 1: you here on the podcast today.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yeah, thank you so much for having me.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Yeah, an honored here. Yeah, No, it's great. You know,
- 1:04Speaker 1: this is a topic we haven't covered a lot actually,
- 1:08Speaker 1: or really much at all. We've talked about health in
- 1:10Speaker 1: the past, but not what we're going to get into
- 1:11Speaker 1: today about longevity and kind of a strategic way of
- 1:14Speaker 1: approaching it and a little different than maybe folks have
- 1:17Speaker 1: heard before. And I'm again excited to have you here because,
- 1:21Speaker 1: as you know, I'm all about bringing people together to
- 1:23Speaker 1: accomplish great things, and you're one of those gentlemen that
- 1:26Speaker 1: are in that space of helping people live healthier, more
- 1:29Speaker 1: vibrant lives. And so before we get into the meat
- 1:32Speaker 1: of it today, like I say on the podcast, i'd
- 1:34Speaker 1: love to hear your journey, Xavier, A little bit as
- 1:38Speaker 1: for our listeners here your journey as founder and CEO
- 1:40Speaker 1: of Marketing Medical. Why did you get into Marketing Medical?
- 1:43Speaker 1: Why are you doing the things that you're doing in
- 1:45Speaker 1: the place of health and wellbeing and longevity? If you
- 1:49Speaker 1: could just take us back a little bit, take us
- 1:51Speaker 1: back a little bit of your journey as a business
- 1:53Speaker 1: owner and leader.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Yeah, So, I've been in the health insurance industry, really
- 1:59Speaker 2: healthcare for the last twenty years, so the last two decades,
- 2:03Speaker 2: and really what I've been seeing is just a lot
- 2:07Speaker 2: of healthcare letting people down, letting my family members down,
- 2:11Speaker 2: my colleagues, a lot of clients, and you know, back
- 2:17Speaker 2: in twenty twenty, while we're all dealing with this huge
- 2:20Speaker 2: issue of COVID, my dad nearly died from a heart attack.
- 2:26Speaker 2: And what was very troubling for me is that he's
- 2:30Speaker 2: someone that I always looked up to. You know, he's
- 2:33Speaker 2: over seven years of age, low body fat percentage, high
- 2:38Speaker 2: muscle mass, eats well. I mean, if you were to
- 2:41Speaker 2: be like, hey, what do I want to look like
- 2:43Speaker 2: when I'm seventy, you'd have for him and be like,
- 2:47Speaker 2: I want to look like that guy right, like, he's
- 2:49Speaker 2: healthy individual, you know, muscular, looks like he eats well,
- 2:54Speaker 2: exercises all the above. But yet, you know, despite seeing
- 2:58Speaker 2: his doctor regularly, he had a widow maker heart attack.
- 3:04Speaker 2: He had a very low probability of surviving it, and
- 3:07Speaker 2: it was sort of a wake up call as to,
- 3:09Speaker 2: you know, I'm not doing enough to drive the change
- 3:13Speaker 2: that I want to see in the world, to see
- 3:15Speaker 2: the change in healthcare. You know, a lot of my
- 3:19Speaker 2: friends have told me several times in the past decade saying, hey, Xavier,
- 3:23Speaker 2: you're a smart guy, like, can't you do something about
- 3:25Speaker 2: it and fix this? And at first I laugh, but
- 3:28Speaker 2: I think when you start hearing that, you know, several
- 3:31Speaker 2: times over, you're like, well, you know what, it's not
- 3:34Speaker 2: one person saying it. Maybe I am just crazy enough
- 3:38Speaker 2: to take this thing up. So that's what I did.
- 3:43Speaker 2: I did that in twenty twenty one. Just shortly after that,
- 3:50Speaker 2: I said, I want to dedicate my life to fixing
- 3:53Speaker 2: this problem of not having a personalized preventive healthcare program
- 3:59Speaker 2: available and starting out with people who are high performing
- 4:04Speaker 2: leaders and businesses and helping them achieve the goals that
- 4:09Speaker 2: they want to achieve, not just on the business side,
- 4:12Speaker 2: but on the on the mental health and uh performance
- 4:19Speaker 2: chronic disease prevention side as well.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yeah, well that that's so important, and I'm so glad
- 4:26Speaker 1: you hear you're bringing this attention, and I agree. Unfortunately,
- 4:29Speaker 1: when we're living in the United States, and I feel
- 4:31Speaker 1: I agree with you, we're in a broken medical system
- 4:34Speaker 1: and the way I prioritize it's very reactive, not so proactive.
- 4:38Speaker 1: And I would ask, I, guess, what what do you
- 4:41Speaker 1: see exavier as kind of you know, you worked across
- 4:44Speaker 1: oxherence diagnostics now now AI different platforms, what do you
- 4:47Speaker 1: see as the biggest blind spots that how leaders approach
- 4:50Speaker 1: their own health? Like, what are you what are you
- 4:52Speaker 1: seeing there?
- 4:54Speaker 2: I mean, it's it's it's a lot of the stuff
- 4:56Speaker 2: that you would figure right. So, most most business leaders
- 4:59Speaker 2: are high performing, hard working, the long hour, high stress environment,
- 5:06Speaker 2: and they sort of we almost it's almost a cultural
- 5:10Speaker 2: problem where we see that as a badge of honor, saying, oh,
- 5:14Speaker 2: look at David, he's got the flu. He's still fighting
- 5:17Speaker 2: on look at him, he's working twelve hour days, sleeping
- 5:22Speaker 2: for five hours. But eventually that catches up, you know. Unfortunately,
- 5:27Speaker 2: we're not We're no spring chickens anymore. You could maybe
- 5:30Speaker 2: get away with that and thretenes. Yeah, you know, I
- 5:35Speaker 2: know I did when I first started working, drink really like,
- 5:40Speaker 2: very very heavy consumptions and then wake up the next
- 5:43Speaker 2: day and work and be fine. If I had a
- 5:47Speaker 2: you know, just a ten percent of that today, the
- 5:50Speaker 2: next day, I'm as useless. Right, Bodies are constantly changing,
- 5:57Speaker 2: We're constantly adding pressures, adding workloads. And this is a
- 6:01Speaker 2: stat that's that's very important, is that executives are five
- 6:06Speaker 2: times more likely to die from a stress related illness.
- 6:12Speaker 1: Wow. Wow, that's so you're seeing these patterns. I mean,
- 6:16Speaker 1: I'm with you. It's not sustainable. That's what I hear
- 6:18Speaker 1: you saying. It's not sustainable. If you're going to be
- 6:20Speaker 1: doing this, you're and so there's gonna be it's in heavily.
- 6:24Speaker 1: There's gonna be a breakdown. So if you think I
- 6:26Speaker 1: can just keep pushing on, pushing on, you're kind of
- 6:28Speaker 1: fooling yourself. You're gonna have a breakdown somewhere. And and
- 6:32Speaker 1: and so what I hear you saying is you built
- 6:35Speaker 1: you know, market medical to help be more personalized and proactive,
- 6:39Speaker 1: and and and and addressing this right.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely, And and it's and it's really two sides
- 6:45Speaker 2: of it. One is the performance and health optimization side
- 6:51Speaker 2: of things, which is, you know, getting better sleep, more energy,
- 6:54Speaker 2: more vitality, more resilience, you know, more more clarity in
- 7:00Speaker 2: your brain. Right, Like, those are the things that going
- 7:02Speaker 2: to help you be a better leader, which is super important.
- 7:05Speaker 2: But we also have the other side. I think it's like, hey,
- 7:07Speaker 2: can we catch the bad things that healthcare traditional healthcare
- 7:12Speaker 2: doesn't bother to look for. Yeah, for sure, not helping
- 7:16Speaker 2: optimize like that is not what healthcare is built built for.
- 7:20Speaker 2: After you find the thing, then we'll deal with and
- 7:24Speaker 2: by dealing with it, we'll medicate you and send you
- 7:28Speaker 2: along the way. Because doctors are taking care of two
- 7:32Speaker 2: thousand other patients, they don't have the time. They're great people.
- 7:37Speaker 2: I've met hundreds, maybe thousands of physicians throughout the country.
- 7:41Speaker 2: They're incredibly intelligent, good people, but they just aren't given
- 7:46Speaker 2: the tools to succeed because of the way their healthcare
- 7:49Speaker 2: system works.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's so important. I think you know, as
- 7:54Speaker 1: you and I are talking, before you came onto the podcast,
- 7:56Speaker 1: I knew you know you're presenting a different way, and
- 7:58Speaker 1: that's why I wanted to have in the podcast. By
- 8:00Speaker 1: the way, as you're listening to this, everybody, please you
- 8:04Speaker 1: can find Exavier. You know I are connected on LinkedIn
- 8:07Speaker 1: or you look up Market Medical. We'll make sure all
- 8:08Speaker 1: the information show notes. But you came out at a
- 8:11Speaker 1: different angle, which I appreciate, Exavier, where I saw you
- 8:15Speaker 1: building a different type of infrastructure, if you will, and
- 8:18Speaker 1: it's different than maybe some other models that are out there,
- 8:21Speaker 1: maybe not just a concier service or a wellness app.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Can you walk us through a little bit more about
- 8:27Speaker 1: what what makes Marquis and mill Medical different. Why are
- 8:31Speaker 1: you creating it that way a little bit more?
- 8:33Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, no, that's a great question. So basically, you've
- 8:38Speaker 2: got four different categories of of healthcare. Excuse me, we
- 8:44Speaker 2: talked about this, give me sick, right. We have traditional
- 8:51Speaker 2: healthcare all away on the left hand side. Right, it's reactive,
- 8:56Speaker 2: no customization, no personalization, not AI driven, not really root
- 9:04Speaker 2: cause it's it's just there to treat the really bad.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Is like it's like er right, like we're all glad
- 9:11Speaker 2: and happy. Yeah, And then we have two other areas.
- 9:20Speaker 2: We've got concierge care, which is good it's it's getting
- 9:24Speaker 2: a lot of things that you didn't get through traditional healthcare,
- 9:28Speaker 2: just making a lot more convenient, right, just getting there's
- 9:32Speaker 2: various levels and shades of concierge, but in general that's
- 9:37Speaker 2: sort of how it works. So it's definitely moving in
- 9:39Speaker 2: the right direction, but it's not quite there. Then we
- 9:43Speaker 2: have an executive physical so something like a Mayo or
- 9:47Speaker 2: Cleveland clinic, and some executives are starting to do that
- 9:51Speaker 2: because they want to get proactive. But it's also it's
- 9:55Speaker 2: it's sort of like going to the gym one time
- 9:58Speaker 2: a year and expecting great results. Like you're just not
- 10:00Speaker 2: going to get great results. You've got to be consistent,
- 10:03Speaker 2: just like leadership. You've got to be consistent. You've got
- 10:06Speaker 2: to be looking at the numbers, working with your folks
- 10:12Speaker 2: day over day, month over month, and tracking progress. Because
- 10:16Speaker 2: if you just decide you're going to do and actually
- 10:18Speaker 2: a lot of companies do this. They have a one
- 10:20Speaker 2: once a year whatever blowout training thing in Vegas and
- 10:26Speaker 2: it's great. People are excited and it's it's good, but
- 10:31Speaker 2: you get very very little ROI for that investment because
- 10:36Speaker 2: it's it's not something that's ongoing care. Right, You don't
- 10:40Speaker 2: have ability, you don't have a set program. So what
- 10:43Speaker 2: we do is build a program that is as convenient
- 10:48Speaker 2: as concierge, as extensive as executive physical, but national and
- 10:54Speaker 2: ongoing twelve month touch points so that we are able
- 10:59Speaker 2: to drive that change and make people accountable. And then
- 11:02Speaker 2: we've also supercharged that with the most preventative technology that's
- 11:08Speaker 2: available on planet Earth.
- 11:11Speaker 1: That's incredible. I mean, I think and I agree with
- 11:14Speaker 1: you what you're saying, Exavier. I mean, I've been guilty
- 11:17Speaker 1: of just doing a physical but like what I appreciate
- 11:19Speaker 1: about what you presented is not just your AI. You
- 11:22Speaker 1: have diagnosis. You also have coaching, and you're guiding folks
- 11:25Speaker 1: this so that it can make informed decisions. I think
- 11:27Speaker 1: that's a big game changer. That's why ire coaching. It's
- 11:31Speaker 1: like you can watch a video or read a book
- 11:33Speaker 1: one thing, but then actually, how are you implement this
- 11:35Speaker 1: on a regular basis right and looking at and seeing
- 11:39Speaker 1: like is this working or not working? What do I
- 11:42Speaker 1: have to do or adjust? Because one thing I really
- 11:46Speaker 1: liked about what you talked about before we start recording, Exavier,
- 11:48Speaker 1: it is like, again, you're being very proactive to the
- 11:50Speaker 1: person and so You're not just saying a one size
- 11:53Speaker 1: fits all approach. You're saying, hey, maybe this is the
- 11:57Speaker 1: supplement that you need or need to adjust, and with
- 12:00Speaker 1: the testing and the information you're gathering, then you can
- 12:03Speaker 1: help guide them. And I feel like, you know, you
- 12:06Speaker 1: can get caught in a trap of like trying to
- 12:07Speaker 1: just get something off the shelf. It's not bad, but
- 12:10Speaker 1: I don't think it just maybe doesn't serve to us.
- 12:12Speaker 1: It doesn't have the greater impact like you're talking about.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's a it's a combination of a few
- 12:19Speaker 2: different things. So the only way you can really get
- 12:22Speaker 2: personal is if you get the data. Right. If you
- 12:26Speaker 2: know that you're a male and you're fifty years of age, like,
- 12:30Speaker 2: that's not a lot to go with, right, that's a
- 12:34Speaker 2: lot of data. Okay. If you know a little bit
- 12:37Speaker 2: about your blood and your cholesterol okay, getting better? Okay,
- 12:41Speaker 2: do we know what your BMI is? Okay, that's getting better.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Do we know what your visceral fat, family health history,
- 12:47Speaker 2: your genetics? Do we have your wearable data? You know
- 12:51Speaker 2: how how you react to certain medications, are as metabolized,
- 12:56Speaker 2: ire slow metabolizer of certain drugs, getting very customized, how
- 13:03Speaker 2: are you sleeping, are you a full rested seventy hours
- 13:08Speaker 2: or how long are you sleep? Are you getting a
- 13:11Speaker 2: lot of deep sleep? Are you getting at least thirty
- 13:13Speaker 2: five forty five percent? Or are you getting a few
- 13:16Speaker 2: minutes a day? All these things matter because as we
- 13:21Speaker 2: as getting back to the business case of it, uh,
- 13:25Speaker 2: getting back to all this cortisol, all this stress, all
- 13:30Speaker 2: these big decisions that we have to make, Well, do
- 13:33Speaker 2: you want to have them something where you have a
- 13:35Speaker 2: clear mind, you're rested and focused, or are you're going
- 13:39Speaker 2: to be reactive and non level headed?
- 13:44Speaker 1: Absolutely well, that gets to the again our shared you
- 13:47Speaker 1: know passion, You're you're coming from the house side. I'm
- 13:51Speaker 1: coming from the people side, meaning how we're leading people.
- 13:53Speaker 1: But you know, how to your physical state of mind,
- 13:57Speaker 1: like you said, does determine your strategy? How are you
- 14:00Speaker 1: making decisions? Said? Uh, I remember reading this one book
- 14:04Speaker 1: about like you know, if we're taking a lot of
- 14:06Speaker 1: sugar and we're making short term decisions versus long term
- 14:09Speaker 1: dish for example, So, how as you've been working with
- 14:12Speaker 1: folks a Xavier in this now you've been doing this
- 14:14Speaker 1: for an ever of year, how have you seen leaders
- 14:16Speaker 1: shift when they make their health central or you know,
- 14:20Speaker 1: maybe they maw was on the fringe, but now they're
- 14:22Speaker 1: being more intentional to how they show up in their
- 14:25Speaker 1: whether it's in their physical life. But I'm sure you're
- 14:27Speaker 1: pricing it how it shows up in others. What have
- 14:30Speaker 1: you seen as folks now shift and make that priority.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Yeah, you know something someone I'm thinking about right now
- 14:38Speaker 2: top of my head. And what's great is we have
- 14:40Speaker 2: a couple of things that we helped this individual with.
- 14:42Speaker 2: So it's a CFO of a small life science company.
- 14:46Speaker 2: Her name is Sally and she was actually again someone
- 14:50Speaker 2: who you think would be the model of health right
- 14:52Speaker 2: she's a marathon runner, eats well. She mostly came because
- 14:56Speaker 2: she actually wanted to like biohack and figure out how
- 14:59Speaker 2: to optimize her health. And she was having sleep issues
- 15:04Speaker 2: and we were trying to figure out what was going
- 15:06Speaker 2: on with that. Uh So we tracked her deep sleep
- 15:08Speaker 2: and figure out where she's at. We looked at her
- 15:11Speaker 2: hormone levels, we did a full body MRI and what
- 15:16Speaker 2: we actually found were a couple different problems. She actually
- 15:20Speaker 2: had thyroid cancer. You know, she had a nodule behind
- 15:25Speaker 2: her throat and she was probably weeks away from having
- 15:30Speaker 2: significant obstruction possibly dying in the middle of the night.
- 15:34Speaker 2: I mean it was it was about the size of
- 15:35Speaker 2: a gumball and she had no idea, which is very bizarre.
- 15:39Speaker 2: But again, these these these high performing people. They I
- 15:43Speaker 2: just talked to someone yesterday. He's like, Hey, I don't
- 15:46Speaker 2: I don't stop and go to the doctor. Right, He's
- 15:48Speaker 2: like patting himself in the back, like, I don't. I
- 15:50Speaker 2: don't do that, Like I'm going to muscle through all
- 15:53Speaker 2: these things. And that's part of the problem, right, It's
- 15:55Speaker 2: a cultural thing that instead of optimizing and figuring things
- 16:00Speaker 2: out and being stewards of our health, people are doing
- 16:03Speaker 2: the opposite there. They're waiting for things to kind of
- 16:06Speaker 2: get very very chronic before doing anything about it. So
- 16:12Speaker 2: it's great, as we saved we potentially saved her life,
- 16:15Speaker 2: so that was huge. But then in addition to that,
- 16:19Speaker 2: you know, she had some hormone imbalances, so she wasn't
- 16:22Speaker 2: getting the recovery that she should have been getting. She
- 16:25Speaker 2: wasn't getting the energy that she was getting, and she
- 16:28Speaker 2: could see in her performance because as I mentioned, she
- 16:30Speaker 2: deals with numbers all the time, so she can only
- 16:33Speaker 2: get through so much work throughout the day. But once
- 16:36Speaker 2: we added that additional clarity, getting her additional energy, you know,
- 16:41Speaker 2: she became significantly more productive.
- 16:44Speaker 1: H wow. I mean so she was looking for a
- 16:49Speaker 1: different angle, you guys actually ended up finding another thing
- 16:51Speaker 1: in there that she didn't even realize. And so I
- 16:54Speaker 1: feel like that's what you're doing, is like, hey, we're
- 16:56Speaker 1: looking at things you might not be able to see
- 16:58Speaker 1: on the surface so that you can actually ultimately be healthier,
- 17:02Speaker 1: be more productive. And I would say, as I'm hearing
- 17:06Speaker 1: this Xavier, it's not just you, but it's affects your
- 17:09Speaker 1: teams and like you've in the culture. So to the
- 17:12Speaker 1: to your point, if the business owners is like just
- 17:16Speaker 1: patting themselves in the back, burning themselves out, they're probably
- 17:18Speaker 1: doing it to their employees too, and they may burn
- 17:20Speaker 1: out and and and leave or whatnot. So it's it's
- 17:24Speaker 1: what I hear you saying, you're challenging this kind of
- 17:27Speaker 1: cultural way of being of like, oh, I'm just gonna
- 17:29Speaker 1: push through and saying hey, hold on, go actually be
- 17:31Speaker 1: healthier and be able to go farther longer, right, longevity
- 17:36Speaker 1: versus burning out, And then that's it, and thinking about
- 17:40Speaker 1: this not only I'm taking this applying it to me
- 17:42Speaker 1: and the people that I get to work with the
- 17:44Speaker 1: teams of Like, hey, if you're pushing yourself that hard,
- 17:46Speaker 1: you're not considering yourself in that way. Your your employees
- 17:50Speaker 1: are gonna feel that too. So if you're gonna flip
- 17:51Speaker 1: it around, flip the script, what you're saying is like, hey,
- 17:53Speaker 1: why don't you prioritize health and well being? Investing in that,
- 17:58Speaker 1: and and and and being proact versus reactive. I feel
- 18:02Speaker 1: like that's going to ripple through through the company.
- 18:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and it shows up in a lot of different ways, right,
- 18:08Speaker 2: Like if you're if you're doing the things prioritizing yourself,
- 18:13Speaker 2: have a have a you know, a clear level head.
- 18:17Speaker 2: When you're meeting with your team and leading in a
- 18:21Speaker 2: certain way, you're going to lead differently, you know. So
- 18:23Speaker 2: I had a great workout this morning. I had a
- 18:26Speaker 2: very difficult conversation with one of my team members. We
- 18:31Speaker 2: had to you know, basically, I won't go into too
- 18:35Speaker 2: much detail. We had a conversation, right, I explained it
- 18:40Speaker 2: in a way that saying, Hey, we looked at certain numbers,
- 18:42Speaker 2: we looked at some projections, and I'm making this decision
- 18:48Speaker 2: just out of a business decision had nothing to do
- 18:52Speaker 2: with with with you personally, But it's just something that
- 18:55Speaker 2: we have to do as an organization. And I explained
- 18:58Speaker 2: it in a certain way. And I probably probably about
- 19:02Speaker 2: two years ago, yeah, about two years ago, I probably
- 19:06Speaker 2: would have stressed that a lot about that conversation. It
- 19:09Speaker 2: would have been it would have been a high anxiety
- 19:12Speaker 2: and I probably was like.
- 19:13Speaker 1: A oh wow, wow, that's a big that's a big difference.
- 19:18Speaker 2: It was and and and it's I would have like
- 19:21Speaker 2: lost sleep over it would have gone back and forth,
- 19:24Speaker 2: just a lot of different things. But I've just learned
- 19:28Speaker 2: through you know, regulation of of my you know, hormones,
- 19:33Speaker 2: regulation of my cortisol, my sleep, and and just being
- 19:37Speaker 2: a better leader and getting that exercise that I need.
- 19:41Speaker 2: It just it's just a you know, it's a basic
- 19:44Speaker 2: math problem.
- 19:45Speaker 1: Right.
- 19:46Speaker 2: There's there's a situation, and here's what's the best solution
- 19:50Speaker 2: for it. And that's it. There's no emotion behind it.
- 19:54Speaker 2: And uh, and I'm and I'm fully prepared for this
- 19:56Speaker 2: conversation to go one way or another and then if
- 20:00Speaker 2: it goes this way, I'll deal with that. And if
- 20:01Speaker 2: it goes this way, I'll deal with that. Then I'm
- 20:03Speaker 2: not going to stress over the things that I can't control.
- 20:07Speaker 2: But what I can't control is myself, you know, in
- 20:10Speaker 2: control how I go into the conversation, how I feel
- 20:14Speaker 2: about it. And I think that's that's what we want
- 20:17Speaker 2: to empower leaders to do, is we want them to
- 20:19Speaker 2: take control, take command of their health, how they command
- 20:23Speaker 2: their businesses, because ultimately, you don't have that foundation of
- 20:27Speaker 2: your health.
- 20:28Speaker 1: You've got nothing right. Well to your point, and I
- 20:32Speaker 1: want to get into this a little bit more because
- 20:33Speaker 1: I know that there's resistance that we talked about. But
- 20:35Speaker 1: I would say, and this has been challenged to me,
- 20:38Speaker 1: if yourself, how much time do we put in our business?
- 20:41Speaker 1: But then how much time do we put into taking
- 20:44Speaker 1: care of our body? Like you said, like we're working
- 20:46Speaker 1: really hard, but I mean our body is serving us
- 20:49Speaker 1: and not just like you said, work out, that's absolutely,
- 20:52Speaker 1: but but what are we looking at the food that
- 20:54Speaker 1: we're taking in the diagnostics like you said, investing in that.
- 20:58Speaker 1: And I would say, much like I get objections, you know,
- 21:03Speaker 1: exavier from the professional organizational health individual like well what
- 21:07Speaker 1: do I need to do? I'm I'm a good enough leader.
- 21:09Speaker 1: I've got this. I'm gonna push through. Right, It's like,
- 21:11Speaker 1: speak a little bit to your exavier, because this is
- 21:13Speaker 1: what I do, what I'm I'm talking to clients about.
- 21:15Speaker 1: But what is your your approach to the new clients
- 21:18Speaker 1: are folks that are like, I'm not sure if I
- 21:20Speaker 1: need this or understand this. How do you educate them?
- 21:23Speaker 1: What is it like? You know, I'm just going to
- 21:24Speaker 1: deal with it later. I'll figure it out.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's a it's a it's very easy
- 21:31Speaker 2: to put off the problem until it's it's it's burning
- 21:35Speaker 2: and you know the house is burning, right, Yeah, but
- 21:39Speaker 2: I mean it's it's uh, you know, you just have
- 21:43Speaker 2: to We're we're not looking for everyone. We're looking for
- 21:47Speaker 2: high performing leaders to be proactive. One believe in the
- 21:53Speaker 2: the alarm or security system before you get wrong. The
- 21:59Speaker 2: ones that are, hey, you know what, Like there's a
- 22:01Speaker 2: lot of people be like, I don't need a smoke detector.
- 22:03Speaker 2: I'll find out there's a fire, if there's smoke, if
- 22:06Speaker 2: there's a fire, Well, wouldn't you like to know that
- 22:08Speaker 2: ahead of time? Would you like to have some kind
- 22:10Speaker 2: of dashboard that tells you what's going on in your body?
- 22:14Speaker 2: And we have more technology in our cars than we
- 22:17Speaker 2: do on our bodies. Think about that, Yeah, crazy nine?
- 22:21Speaker 2: Is that right? Like this thing that you're going to
- 22:24Speaker 2: get rid of in ten years more likely for sure,
- 22:27Speaker 2: some people every two five years. Sure, this thing that
- 22:31Speaker 2: you don't really care about, that shouldn't matter, is going
- 22:36Speaker 2: to come and go from your lifetime. But you have
- 22:38Speaker 2: more technology looking at that insight understanding whether it's overheating
- 22:44Speaker 2: and you got a tire pressure issue. You know gas,
- 22:48Speaker 2: how much gas you have in the tank, but you
- 22:50Speaker 2: have no idea what gas is in your tank? Right,
- 22:52Speaker 2: you have.
- 22:58Speaker 1: With froze there from your hold on to that thing.
- 23:04Speaker 1: So again it's okay.
- 23:15Speaker 2: So we're talking about whole genome sequencing and how we
- 23:19Speaker 2: have more technology in your cars and we do insight
- 23:23Speaker 2: into your body, right, and it's very easy for people
- 23:27Speaker 2: to do this. But most people, I think it's actually
- 23:30Speaker 2: more of a they just don't know what exists. Like
- 23:33Speaker 2: they don't they don't know.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I think that's one of the shoes, right, If like
- 23:37Speaker 3: if you knew that you had a eighty percent chance
- 23:43Speaker 3: of getting a certain cancer, if you had a certain
- 23:45Speaker 3: gene in your body, Like if you knew.
- 23:47Speaker 2: That that was happening, you'd spend doesn't matter how much
- 23:52Speaker 2: find answer to that. Yes, the problem is you don't
- 23:55Speaker 2: know how to get that answer. You don't know if
- 23:58Speaker 2: that is you because you have never heard of whole
- 24:01Speaker 2: genome sequence and all the information that you can get
- 24:05Speaker 2: about that, about your about your body. You know, we
- 24:08Speaker 2: all have houses that were built around the same time
- 24:11Speaker 2: in our neighborhood, and we know, hey, we've got a
- 24:14Speaker 2: we've got a squeaky garage or a squeaky back door,
- 24:18Speaker 2: or we've got some pipe issues, and it's very easy
- 24:23Speaker 2: for us to just put our heads in the heads
- 24:25Speaker 2: in the sand and be like, hey, you know, whatever
- 24:27Speaker 2: happens will happened. But some of us are like, hey, uh,
- 24:30Speaker 2: talk to my neighbor. He's got a pipe burst. And
- 24:33Speaker 2: then he told me that seven other neighbors had a
- 24:36Speaker 2: pipe burst and it cost them thousands of dollars to
- 24:40Speaker 2: get that fix in it flooded their whole house. Well,
- 24:43Speaker 2: if you're a if you're a high performing leader, you're
- 24:45Speaker 2: gonna be like, hey, let's get this done right away.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Let's not wait for the chronic And that's what genetics
- 24:53Speaker 2: and advanced imaging can do for you, saying hey, look,
- 24:56Speaker 2: let's look at your blueprint, David, and see what are
- 25:00Speaker 2: the potential flaws in this blueprint because we all have flaws.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Like it's across the world. I've never had a single
- 25:07Speaker 2: person out of the thousands who have gone through the
- 25:10Speaker 2: program that we hadn't found something that wasn't perfect. And
- 25:16Speaker 2: anyone who's a dog person knows about it. Be like, well,
- 25:18Speaker 2: that breed has issues with its you know, with its hips,
- 25:22Speaker 2: that breed has issues. Well, we're all breeds, and we don't.
- 25:26Speaker 2: We know less about ourselves than we do about our
- 25:29Speaker 2: freaking dogs. And it just needs to change. Like we
- 25:32Speaker 2: can do things now today outside of traditional healthcare that
- 25:36Speaker 2: we can really get great inside as to what's going
- 25:41Speaker 2: on in our bodies and how we can avoid them
- 25:44Speaker 2: breaking down.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you you're hitting us with some great conversation today.
- 25:50Speaker 1: One thing that's sticking out to me is you're saying this, Xavier,
- 25:52Speaker 1: So if you're a high performance leader, and if I
- 25:54Speaker 1: make this choice to invest in and taking care of myself,
- 25:59Speaker 1: be more proactive. And one thing I really love about
- 26:03Speaker 1: this is you you offer this to not only individuals,
- 26:06Speaker 1: but companies that want to provide this as a benefit
- 26:08Speaker 1: to additional executives or folks, is it starts with you know,
- 26:13Speaker 1: me the leader, if you're the you know, the high up,
- 26:16Speaker 1: if you're the CEO of the founder, or you know,
- 26:18Speaker 1: you're doing to damonstrate to others and leading the way.
- 26:21Speaker 1: And so I think taking care of yourself number one
- 26:23Speaker 1: means and then how do we take care of the
- 26:24Speaker 1: rest of the people on our team? Right? So this
- 26:27Speaker 1: is a way, and it's I think a unique and
- 26:29Speaker 1: a better way quite honestly. Yes, we can get a bonus, Okay,
- 26:32Speaker 1: that's great. Uh, maybe we get a car, you know,
- 26:35Speaker 1: a company car or whatever the case might be. But
- 26:37Speaker 1: why don't why don't we change the story a little bit?
- 26:39Speaker 1: And like you're saying, savior, thinking more long term, having
- 26:43Speaker 1: a greater vision, like what what am I leaving behind here?
- 26:47Speaker 1: And so I feel like we're getting to a longer play,
- 26:50Speaker 1: exavier and so I like to talk about that the
- 26:53Speaker 1: ies and higher matrix. Are you familiar with that? But
- 26:55Speaker 1: the urgent and important and important Oftentimes we kind of
- 26:58Speaker 1: forget the importance. This is important urgent yet, but it's
- 27:01Speaker 1: gonna get like you said, it can become urgent, So
- 27:03Speaker 1: be proactive. I do think, I do think high end
- 27:06Speaker 1: and executive state. They do, they want to do these things.
- 27:08Speaker 1: It's just sometimes, like you said, they're unaware or they
- 27:10Speaker 1: don't know how to go about it, and then who
- 27:13Speaker 1: do I trust? Like? And that's why we're having you
- 27:15Speaker 1: on the podcast, Xavier, because we want to have people
- 27:17Speaker 1: listen and hear I'm a you know, get before you
- 27:20Speaker 1: get model, like here, listen, take it in and see
- 27:23Speaker 1: if this feels right, and if you want to learn more. Obviously, Exavier,
- 27:26Speaker 1: we're gonna give your links and connect with you because
- 27:30Speaker 1: I think you're I see, Exavier, You're You're What you're
- 27:35Speaker 1: doing is really not just disruptive, but it's really as
- 27:38Speaker 1: deeply human. It's it's restoring dignity and the possibility of
- 27:42Speaker 1: how leaders approach their own health. And I'm really grateful
- 27:46Speaker 1: that you're here and ensuring this because again, I don't
- 27:49Speaker 1: think a lot of people understand. They're just like, well,
- 27:50Speaker 1: I just go into the system and maybe I learned,
- 27:53Speaker 1: maybe there's concierge, maybe I've gotten some exposure to that.
- 27:57Speaker 1: But even people that maybe are aware, they're just like,
- 27:58Speaker 1: how do I make this happen? And they're just they
- 28:00Speaker 1: don't know, And now they have somebody like you. They saying, Hey,
- 28:03Speaker 1: I'm a researcher and you're here local here in southern California.
- 28:06Speaker 1: I know you're beyond that, but in geography area you cover.
- 28:09Speaker 1: But I'm again, I'm really glad that you're here on
- 28:12Speaker 1: the podcast. And now we're going into the end, but I
- 28:13Speaker 1: wanted to make sure that I got that in there.
- 28:15Speaker 1: But what you're bringing and the value you're bringing up
- 28:17Speaker 1: everybody's listening.
- 28:20Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and and uh, I'm glad that you mentioned
- 28:24Speaker 2: that because you know, our our mission is is really
- 28:27Speaker 2: really important to us. You know, we're not we're not
- 28:29Speaker 2: here to make as much money off of each individual
- 28:33Speaker 2: person like we We are giving significantly amount more more
- 28:38Speaker 2: value than anybody else remotely in our space. You know,
- 28:41Speaker 2: we don't have super high profit margins by design because
- 28:45Speaker 2: we want to make sure we give you as much
- 28:47Speaker 2: as possible to transform your life, and we're going to
- 28:50Speaker 2: make it up in volume because you're going to go
- 28:52Speaker 2: I went through the program. Here's what I uncovered about myself.
- 28:55Speaker 2: It was an incredible experience, completely transformed the way I
- 28:59Speaker 2: view health and longevity and everybody should be doing this
- 29:04Speaker 2: right like that. That's our number one goal of this
- 29:07Speaker 2: program and then eventually we're going to have you say, hey,
- 29:11Speaker 2: this should be for my brother, my sister, and my mother,
- 29:15Speaker 2: everybody that I care about, everyone that I love. And
- 29:17Speaker 2: we've had that. We have a lot of families who
- 29:20Speaker 2: are going through our program together, a lot of business
- 29:23Speaker 2: leaders going through the program together. So you work with
- 29:26Speaker 2: a number of peer executive networking groups throughout the country
- 29:31Speaker 2: and they go in it together and they kind of
- 29:34Speaker 2: share experiences and do it all at the same time.
- 29:37Speaker 2: And we give a lot of stuff. We've got a
- 29:40Speaker 2: ton of information on our website. We have over one
- 29:43Speaker 2: hundred articles on our on our website that are that
- 29:47Speaker 2: are on different topics, sleep, longevity, blood, biomarkers, you name it.
- 29:55Speaker 2: You know, all kinds of different things. So you can
- 29:57Speaker 2: actually empower yourselves pretty well by just looking at our
- 30:00Speaker 2: website and getting that information at no costs. We can
- 30:05Speaker 2: also do a free health risk assessment for anyone that
- 30:08Speaker 2: wants it. We actually use our AI that is incredible.
- 30:13Speaker 2: I think we have world leading AI program that analyzes
- 30:18Speaker 2: over forty three thousand data points through our own private
- 30:22Speaker 2: startuple and it can actually give you your blueprint, your longevity blueprints,
- 30:28Speaker 2: what we call it of your health, not only how
- 30:31Speaker 2: to optimize your health today, but actually how to live
- 30:34Speaker 2: a longer, healthier life throughout your entire life.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Journey Man Xavier, I so appreciate that we're going to
- 30:42Speaker 1: make sure the links are all put on our website
- 30:45Speaker 1: in the show notes. And you guys, as you're listening
- 30:47Speaker 1: to this, if you have comments or feedback, please leave
- 30:50Speaker 1: it in our whatever platform you're listening to, whether it's
- 30:53Speaker 1: YouTube or Apple or Spotify or whatnot. We appreciate your
- 30:56Speaker 1: feedback and comments there as well, Exavier. As a wrapping
- 31:00Speaker 1: it up, I always like to give our guests kind
- 31:01Speaker 1: of a last call to action or a key takeaway
- 31:05Speaker 1: if they've heard nothing else, that they've gotten something if
- 31:07Speaker 1: they're listening to this, If you're a business owner or
- 31:09Speaker 1: leader executive, and you're like, I haven't really taken you know,
- 31:14Speaker 1: that step into in this realm of my health, what
- 31:17Speaker 1: would you impart to them today?
- 31:19Speaker 2: You know, I like to give as much as much
- 31:23Speaker 2: as possible. And I would say that probably the number
- 31:26Speaker 2: one thing that people come to us is is stress
- 31:30Speaker 2: and in part lack of sleep. You know, we have
- 31:33Speaker 2: a lot of people would challenge with that and I'll
- 31:36Speaker 2: give them kind of a very ope hold on lye,
- 31:45Speaker 2: So anyone can remember that three hours before bed, that's
- 31:50Speaker 2: your last meal. Two hours before bed, that's your your sorry,
- 31:58Speaker 2: your drink put So all right, let me let me
- 32:02Speaker 2: start over. You got me throw off good recording. One,
- 32:05Speaker 2: here we go, all right, So three to two one,
- 32:09Speaker 2: it's all. If you forget everything that we talked about,
- 32:12Speaker 2: I think this will probably help about ninety percent of
- 32:15Speaker 2: people listening through this because most people that go through
- 32:18Speaker 2: our program have a great deal of stress, have a
- 32:21Speaker 2: great deal of trouble going to sleep. So three hours
- 32:24Speaker 2: before bed that's your last meal. Two hours before bed,
- 32:29Speaker 2: that's your last time you have water or anything to drink.
- 32:34Speaker 2: And one hour before bed that's when you cut off
- 32:37Speaker 2: all electronics. And last one is really important because a
- 32:41Speaker 2: lot of people are like to their phone, you know,
- 32:45Speaker 2: wiping through right before bed, and you really need that
- 32:48Speaker 2: for your brain to unwind and get best quality of sleep.
- 32:53Speaker 2: So if you forget everything that we talked about, I
- 32:55Speaker 2: would say that those those three things, incorporate that into
- 32:59Speaker 2: your our daily sleep hygiene, and you'll probably sleep better
- 33:04Speaker 2: than you have in yours.
- 33:05Speaker 1: That's great. Well, and again we'll make sure. Xavier, thank
- 33:08Speaker 1: you for being on the podcast. We'll make sure all
- 33:10Speaker 1: of the notes are there. And again, you guys, there's
- 33:14Speaker 1: so much medical without thanks behavior.
- 33:22Speaker 2: I appreciate it, and this is so much fun. I
- 33:25Speaker 2: really appreciate you putting this together.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Absolutely, thanks everybody for joining us. Of course, like and subscribe.
- 33:31Speaker 1: We always appreciate you following share this podcast you found
- 33:34Speaker 1: it helpful, useful, We of course love having you along
- 33:36Speaker 1: the journey. If you're interested in joining us on the podcast,
- 33:39Speaker 1: well please contact me and again, take care, be well
