- 0:00Speaker 1: He knows his why around all this. It's the Mark
- 0:04Speaker 1: Simone Show on seven to tenor well, hey it's Wednesday,
- 0:11Speaker 1: the big game Tonight Game four Madison Square Garden. Now
- 0:18Speaker 1: that's tonight, messer, and then it's back to Texas for Saturday. Right.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I don't understand the way they do the schedule for
- 0:25Speaker 1: these NBA Championships. Why they have to have three days
- 0:28Speaker 1: in between a game. Why they just play every night?
- 0:30Speaker 1: I don't know. I have no idea. But so they'll play, well,
- 0:36Speaker 1: no matter what happens tonight, they'll play Saturday in Texas,
- 0:39Speaker 1: and then it's another game in Texas, and then eventually
- 0:43Speaker 1: they come back to New York. We don't want to
- 0:45Speaker 1: have to go seven games. We'd like them to wrap
- 0:47Speaker 1: it up and win the thing. But I would imagine
- 0:50Speaker 1: if you're the NBA or the television networks, you wouldn't
- 0:54Speaker 1: mind having to go seven games. There's a lot of
- 0:56Speaker 1: money to be made. City in New York makes about
- 0:58Speaker 1: one hundred million on each game. All together, they made
- 1:01Speaker 1: a thing. Estimating about five hundred million have been made
- 1:04Speaker 1: in New York City off the knicks, off the spending, restaurants, hotels, merchandising,
- 1:11Speaker 1: all that sort of stuff. So the game is tonight
- 1:14Speaker 1: eight thirty. Again. They got that frozen zone. I don't
- 1:17Speaker 1: know why they're doing this. They're going to have the
- 1:19Speaker 1: Presidential frozen Zone. So from like five blocks in every
- 1:22Speaker 1: direction of the garden, no one's allowed in without a
- 1:25Speaker 1: ticket or a reservation at a restaurant or something like that. So, hey,
- 1:31Speaker 1: a great woman died. Billy Tish Wilma Tish. She was
- 1:35Speaker 1: the wife of Lawrence Tish Larry Tish. Remember the two
- 1:38Speaker 1: Tish brothers, Bob and Larry Tish, the guys that built
- 1:42Speaker 1: the empire, formed everything. They're both dead. Bob Tish's widow,
- 1:49Speaker 1: Joan Tish, died a few years ago. But Billy Tish
- 1:52Speaker 1: the last of that generation, ninety eight years old and
- 1:56Speaker 1: one of the greatest philanthropists in New York, you know,
- 1:59Speaker 1: and you see the his name all over the place
- 2:01Speaker 1: and buildings and museums and hospitals, very very generous. They
- 2:06Speaker 1: had a lot of children. She had a lot of children.
- 2:09Speaker 1: And then also she has fourteen grandchildren. One of them
- 2:13Speaker 1: is the police commissioner Jessica Tish. This is her grandmother
- 2:17Speaker 1: that passed away. She had fifteen great grandchildren, but a
- 2:23Speaker 1: great woman did a lot of good for New York City. Hey,
- 2:28Speaker 1: Scott Pelley, I think they ought to bring him back,
- 2:32Speaker 1: not to sixty minutes. CPS should give this guy a series.
- 2:36Speaker 1: He has become great after being fired. He's the most
- 2:40Speaker 1: hysterical thing to watch. He's just this big, pompous blow hard.
- 2:46Speaker 1: They should just put him on every night and have
- 2:48Speaker 1: somebody interview him. These interviews are hysterical watching him talk
- 2:53Speaker 1: about how he saved Private Ryan, how he was a
- 2:56Speaker 1: war hero. I was in combat for this country. We
- 3:00Speaker 1: meant two seconds there as a reporter, heavily guarded by truth,
- 3:05Speaker 1: these pompous statements, it's an amazing thing. I mean, I've
- 3:11Speaker 1: seen a lot of idiots in the broadcasting business, but
- 3:14Speaker 1: nothing quite like this guy. I mean, if you think
- 3:17Speaker 1: about what happened, A big, huge, enormous corporation bought CBS.
- 3:23Speaker 1: They bought it, they own it. They put a new
- 3:26Speaker 1: person in charge of sixteen minutes, and this pampas idiot
- 3:29Speaker 1: goes storming in there. You cannot do this. I'm Scott Pelly,
- 3:34Speaker 1: and he actually said to the guy, why would you
- 3:37Speaker 1: take this job when you're not welcome here? He's the
- 3:42Speaker 1: new owner. He owns the place. This guy's the new boss,
- 3:45Speaker 1: he's your boss. So of course they fired him. Actually
- 3:48Speaker 1: they didn't fire him instantly. The next day he did
- 3:51Speaker 1: this in front of everybody. The next day they offered
- 3:54Speaker 1: to meet with him, Come meet with us in private,
- 3:57Speaker 1: and let's work this out. You know. They tried to
- 3:59Speaker 1: save him. So he came and they met in private,
- 4:02Speaker 1: and he told them off again. You must get out immediately.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I'm Scott Pelly. You cannot touch any of course, they
- 4:10Speaker 1: had to fire him. What else are you gonna do?
- 4:14Speaker 1: They fired Tanya Simon. She was the executive producer of
- 4:18Speaker 1: Sixteen Minutes. Her father had been Bob Simon. You remember
- 4:22Speaker 1: Bob Simon, the great reporter in correspondent for years on
- 4:25Speaker 1: sixteen Minutes. So in these interviews, he's great. Scott Pelly
- 4:28Speaker 1: is I thought Tanya Simon, because of her family history,
- 4:33Speaker 1: was untouchable. What employee is untouchable? Why would you be untouchable?
- 4:39Speaker 1: I mean maybe if you were on the air and
- 4:42Speaker 1: you had the biggest ratings in the history of the world,
- 4:45Speaker 1: maybe you were untouchable. But even then you're not. Remember
- 4:49Speaker 1: Howard Stern on WNBC years million years ago, he had
- 4:53Speaker 1: the biggest ratings ever in history, beyond anything ever anybody
- 5:00Speaker 1: ever had. He was totally dominated, the biggest ratings on earth.
- 5:04Speaker 1: The whole station WNBC, all their revenue is from him. Hi,
- 5:09Speaker 1: you gonna fire a guy like that? Well, one day
- 5:11Speaker 1: the chairman of RCA, which was then the parent company,
- 5:14Speaker 1: is listening and he hears lesbian dial it. He hears
- 5:19Speaker 1: something so disgusting he calls in. Grant Tinker, president of
- 5:24Speaker 1: NBC which owned WNBC, said, Dot the hell is this?
- 5:27Speaker 1: This is? We can't have this on it. We're a
- 5:29Speaker 1: public company. Get this off the air. So Grant Tinker
- 5:33Speaker 1: goes to WNBC. He says, take that off the air,
- 5:36Speaker 1: and they explained to him it's he's ninety eight percent
- 5:40Speaker 1: of our revenue. He's got the biggest ratings, a thousand
- 5:42Speaker 1: times bigger than anybody's there. We don't care where a
- 5:45Speaker 1: major public company, billions of dollars at stick. We don't
- 5:48Speaker 1: care about one hundred million this guy brings in. Get
- 5:50Speaker 1: him off the air. So he was fired. Nobody's untouchable.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Nobody's but Scott Pelly. Somebody put together a little collage
- 5:59Speaker 1: of some of his pompous moments and he would go
- 6:01Speaker 1: on the air and he had Trump arrangement syndrome. He
- 6:05Speaker 1: would declare Trump is the worst.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Is it appropriate to ask whether the president is having
- 6:12Speaker 2: difficulty with rationality? And the president can't seem to get
- 6:15Speaker 2: out of his own way because of his pensiant for falsehoods?
- 6:18Speaker 1: Yeah, rationality. Listen, the guy exaggerates, he's a salesman. He
- 6:24Speaker 1: can be, you know, a big mouth. He can get
- 6:29Speaker 1: a little rough and tough with his comments. Sometimes rationality,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I don't know. The guy's pretty rational. Built a massive
- 6:35Speaker 1: international empire.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Is it appropriate to ask whether the president is having
- 6:41Speaker 2: difficulty with rationality?
- 6:43Speaker 1: Yeah? I think for you, Yeah, it's approb with the
- 6:45Speaker 1: hell are you.
- 6:46Speaker 2: To ask president can't seem to get out of his
- 6:48Speaker 2: own way because of his pensiant for falsehoods?
- 6:51Speaker 1: Now, yeah, of course, I mean, of course he lies
- 6:54Speaker 1: now and then he's a big businessman, he's a politician.
- 6:57Speaker 1: But you just had for four years Joe Biden, who
- 7:00Speaker 1: was the biggest liar in the history of American politics,
- 7:03Speaker 1: and you never said a word. You kept quiet the
- 7:05Speaker 1: whole time.
- 7:06Speaker 2: It's too soon to tell how serious President Trump is
- 7:10Speaker 2: in defiance from the Constitution.
- 7:14Speaker 1: He's defying the Constitution. I'm Scott Pelly. So but if
- 7:19Speaker 1: you can't go watch this. He does a New York
- 7:21Speaker 1: Times interview. It's about a half hour long. Every inch
- 7:24Speaker 1: of it is so laughable. I was in combat for
- 7:29Speaker 1: this country. No, you weren't. Never in combat. Who is
- 7:35Speaker 1: President Trump to talk? I was in combat? Who was
- 7:37Speaker 1: he to talk? He got a bullet in the head,
- 7:39Speaker 1: He had the top of his ear taken off by it.
- 7:41Speaker 1: He was shot at. Give me times the he's been
- 7:44Speaker 1: shot at. There's been a three assassination attempts, a fourth
- 7:47Speaker 1: one with a bomb. Who the hell are you to talk,
- 7:50Speaker 1: Scott Pelly? You could see the job offers are not
- 7:53Speaker 1: exactly pouring in for Scott Pelly. But if I was seriously,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I would, if I were a network, I would hire
- 8:01Speaker 1: this guy and just have that woman interview him every
- 8:04Speaker 1: night so he could make these pompous declarations. You know
- 8:08Speaker 1: one thing about he's Ted Baxter times a million. At
- 8:11Speaker 1: least Ted Baxter had a sense of humor. At least
- 8:14Speaker 1: he was cute. This guy. Hey, the Carmelo Anthony case
- 8:20Speaker 1: confusing to a lot of people because it's not the
- 8:22Speaker 1: famous Carmelo Anthony. It's a kid named Carmelo Anthony spelled differently,
- 8:27Speaker 1: but it was. He's seventeen and he brings a knife
- 8:32Speaker 1: to a high school game, and I don't know. He
- 8:35Speaker 1: gets a fight with a guy and kills him. He
- 8:36Speaker 1: just stabs him. He just kills him. It's open and
- 8:38Speaker 1: shut murder. He goes into court with absolutely no defense,
- 8:44Speaker 1: there was no defense of any kind. Jury comes back
- 8:47Speaker 1: in two hours and convicts him. I mean, there was
- 8:51Speaker 1: no way not to convict him. It was an open
- 8:52Speaker 1: and shut case. It's a definite conviction. Now, he said,
- 8:55Speaker 1: trying to play the race card. He's trying to know
- 8:57Speaker 1: all this stuff. It was just out and out murder,
- 9:01Speaker 1: just murder. There's nothing they can do. He will go
- 9:03Speaker 1: to jail forever and ever. Well, he's only seventeen. He
- 9:07Speaker 1: could possibly get out at some point. But you know,
- 9:10Speaker 1: if he's lucky, you'll get some kind of an Andrew
- 9:12Speaker 1: Cuomo governor who changes the parole board to let everybody out.
- 9:18Speaker 1: But terrible, terrible case. Hey, Tom Holman in a feud
- 9:23Speaker 1: with Governor hokel. Crazy Governor Hokeel. The target Homan's target
- 9:31Speaker 1: right now are not just any illegal migrant, but illegal
- 9:33Speaker 1: migrants who are committing crimes, who are criminals, who are
- 9:37Speaker 1: gang members, who are robbers, who are muggers, who are rapists.
- 9:40Speaker 1: That's who he's going after. So many of them end
- 9:44Speaker 1: up in jail at some point. And what they do
- 9:47Speaker 1: in both places. You take Nassau County, where you got
- 9:50Speaker 1: like Bruce Blakeman, a very smart, common sense county executive.
- 9:55Speaker 1: They cooperate with ICE. We've just picked up an illegal
- 9:58Speaker 1: alien who's a dangerous gang member, criminal, We've got them
- 10:01Speaker 1: in prison. Come pick them up, and they go to
- 10:03Speaker 1: the prison, and they take them out of there and
- 10:05Speaker 1: take them to their detention center. And Blakeman cooperates with ICE.
- 10:10Speaker 1: That's why you see no problems in NASA County. Nothing
- 10:13Speaker 1: goes wrong there. They cooperate with ICE. They lend ICE detectives,
- 10:16Speaker 1: local police whatever they need, lend them offices, they lend
- 10:20Speaker 1: them jail cells if they need them. That's the way
- 10:23Speaker 1: you do it. Local signs legislation that Holman cannot come
- 10:29Speaker 1: into any jail, he can't arrest anybody in jail. So
- 10:32Speaker 1: he announces he's gonna send in more ICE agents than
- 10:36Speaker 1: you've ever seen anywhere. He's going to just send thousands
- 10:40Speaker 1: of ICE agents in here because if he can't go
- 10:42Speaker 1: into jail and arrest, you know, if you want to
- 10:44Speaker 1: pick them up in jail, you send two guys. They
- 10:47Speaker 1: take his handcuffs off and put their handcuffs on, and
- 10:50Speaker 1: they take them away, and then it's clean and easy.
- 10:54Speaker 1: If you can't arrest them in jail, you're gonna have
- 10:56Speaker 1: to arrest them on the street in their house, which
- 10:58Speaker 1: means you're going to need twenty agents surrounding the house
- 11:01Speaker 1: to get him out of there. It gets messy. But Holman,
- 11:06Speaker 1: he's never had a deal with, is a wacko governor, and.
- 11:09Speaker 3: We got Rikers Island in New York City. I int
- 11:11Speaker 3: agree with Mayor Adams to get back into Rucker's Island. Now,
- 11:14Speaker 3: if you truly believe we have a right to arrest
- 11:16Speaker 3: and depoort criminals, they're in the country legally, don't Why
- 11:19Speaker 3: am I locked out of Rucker's Island? Why did you
- 11:22Speaker 3: keep releasing to the street.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it's ridiculous at Mike, Mayor Adams, Boy, do we
- 11:26Speaker 1: miss that guy? Do you ever think you'd miss him
- 11:29Speaker 1: so much? Mayor Adams had an agreement with Homan. You
- 11:31Speaker 1: can come into the jails, take him from there. That way,
- 11:34Speaker 1: there's no mess on the street, much easier to do. So.
- 11:39Speaker 1: I had a terrible situation, you sualy, the Central Park
- 11:41Speaker 1: horse just drops dead in the street. Now, from what
- 11:44Speaker 1: we hear, the horse was not abused or anything like that,
- 11:46Speaker 1: but it was just a terrible situation. Horse fell down
- 11:50Speaker 1: in a minute.
- 11:51Speaker 3: What did you do when that horse fell down?
- 11:53Speaker 1: I just come out. I tried to take it out
- 11:55Speaker 1: and make him horse free to get up, and he
- 11:58Speaker 1: died in a two second. Okay, that's the guy, the owner.
- 12:01Speaker 1: He sounds like a nice, responsible guy. But I don't know.
- 12:06Speaker 1: There's too many horses in Central Park. It's too many
- 12:08Speaker 1: of these horses cut it down. I mean, it wasn't
- 12:12Speaker 1: a particularly hot day yesterday, but that can happen. The
- 12:16Speaker 1: one thing you got to get rid of these petty cabs.
- 12:19Speaker 1: These petty cabs, and they should not be allowed in
- 12:22Speaker 1: the street. They should not be allowed in the streets,
- 12:24Speaker 1: they should not be allowed in the park, they should
- 12:27Speaker 1: not be allowed in this country. They're absolutely disgusting. It's
- 12:30Speaker 1: one thing to be a horse. You hear the clip
- 12:33Speaker 1: clop of the horse and you see the beautiful horse
- 12:36Speaker 1: in front of you. It's something romantic about that. It's
- 12:38Speaker 1: something very picturesque. But the petty cab, it's a filthy,
- 12:43Speaker 1: disgusting metal metal thing. You're sitting in with the illegal
- 12:46Speaker 1: alien peddling, and he's got this boombox blasting ridiculous music
- 12:51Speaker 1: so loud. I mean, it's the stupidest thing in the world.
- 12:55Speaker 1: The guy peddling as fast as he can and they
- 12:57Speaker 1: rob people. They get these tourists in there who aren't
- 13:00Speaker 1: clear on the price. Next thing you know, they try
- 13:02Speaker 1: to get out. It's one hundred and fifty dollars, the
- 13:04Speaker 1: illegal alien threatening to kill them if they don't pay it.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Get rid of all these petty cabs. How can we
- 13:10Speaker 1: have them because of a sleezeball politicians that allow this
- 13:15Speaker 1: this apparently there a petticab, a union association that makes
- 13:19Speaker 1: massive donations. But get rid of all of them. So,
- 13:23Speaker 1: as I said, Game four is tonight. Got to stop
- 13:26Speaker 1: with the orange and the blue bagels. Hey, today's were delicious.
- 13:29Speaker 1: They were from Liberty Bagels. We have these big begel buffets,
- 13:33Speaker 1: but they're orange and blue. It tastes great, but you
- 13:35Speaker 1: have to close your eyes when you eat, because when
- 13:37Speaker 1: you're eating a blue bagel, I don't know, just it
- 13:39Speaker 1: doesn't look right anyway. We'll take some calls next eight
- 13:42Speaker 1: hundred three to two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
