- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's Mark Simone. Welcome to the special bonus segment
- 0:03Speaker 1: for you podcast listeners. Well give you a little extra
- 0:06Speaker 1: show on the weekend. So a lot happened this week.
- 0:09Speaker 1: I thought that one of the best things was the
- 0:10Speaker 1: press conference RFK Junior. This press conference, we talked about diet,
- 0:16Speaker 1: you know, and he's a changing the official like government diet.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Little more protein, little less carbs. And what does that mean, Well,
- 0:23Speaker 1: it means that's what schools follow and a lot of
- 0:25Speaker 1: institutions follow. So instead a lot of carbs, a lot
- 0:28Speaker 1: of bread, load of this, load of that, more chicken, eggs, protein,
- 0:32Speaker 1: healthy diet very important. But at this press conference, one
- 0:36Speaker 1: of the reporters asked, and it's a good question. You know,
- 0:38Speaker 1: you're always preaching about the how essential this health, healthy
- 0:42Speaker 1: diet is. Yet the guy you work for, Donald Trump,
- 0:44Speaker 1: eats nothing but cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, French fries, big milkshakes, steak.
- 0:50Speaker 1: It's the worst diet ever. And he's as healthy as
- 0:53Speaker 1: a horse. He's seventy eight years old, got more energy
- 0:55Speaker 1: than anybody. And Kennedy was asked about this and he said, quote, yeah,
- 1:03Speaker 1: he said, he has the constitution of a deity. I
- 1:06Speaker 1: don't know how he's alive, but you know, and Trump
- 1:09Speaker 1: is not the only one. Watch Warren Buffett, the guy's
- 1:13Speaker 1: ninety five, goes to work every day. I mean he
- 1:17Speaker 1: actually retired the other day, but he's still as active
- 1:20Speaker 1: as can be. Warren Buffett eats nothing but cheeseburger's, McDonald's
- 1:25Speaker 1: Dairy Queen. You know. He started eating a chocolate candy
- 1:30Speaker 1: from a company called Seas. They had a store in
- 1:33Speaker 1: Los Angeles. Buffett. It was the greatest chocolate candy. He
- 1:37Speaker 1: loved it, so he bought the whole company, made Seas
- 1:39Speaker 1: into a big, you know, national empire. For you. I
- 1:42Speaker 1: shouldn't tell you this because it's not good for you,
- 1:44Speaker 1: but you could order Sees candy. They're in Los Angeles,
- 1:47Speaker 1: but you can order them shipped to you. It is
- 1:49Speaker 1: the most delicious chocolate you'll ever eat. Then he went
- 1:53Speaker 1: to a dairy queen and it was so great he
- 1:55Speaker 1: bought Dairy Queen years ago. All the dairy queens are
- 1:57Speaker 1: owned by Warren Buffett. He couldn't I McDonald's, but he
- 2:01Speaker 1: became the largest shareholder. And that's his diet. It Sees
- 2:06Speaker 1: candies and dairy Queen and McDonald's and the guy's ninety
- 2:10Speaker 1: five and as healthy as can be. Got a little
- 2:13Speaker 1: trouble with his Eyesightly, it was not bad, but he said,
- 2:16Speaker 1: you know, he has to have somebody driving now, but
- 2:18Speaker 1: a lot of energy at ninety five. So what does
- 2:20Speaker 1: all this mean? And then people have asked Buffett, you
- 2:23Speaker 1: have the diet of a six year old. How come
- 2:27Speaker 1: you're so healthy? And he said, well, you know, he said,
- 2:29Speaker 1: I studied actuarial tables and I found six year olds
- 2:33Speaker 1: have the lowest death rates, so I'm going to eat
- 2:35Speaker 1: like them. But you know, he's kidding around. But in
- 2:37Speaker 1: the case of Trump, and I've asked doctors about this
- 2:41Speaker 1: and they basically say that he was just really lucky
- 2:44Speaker 1: to be born with incredible genes. You know, some people, listen,
- 2:48Speaker 1: you all know people like this. You know, you know
- 2:49Speaker 1: some people that smoke and drink and eat crap and
- 2:52Speaker 1: they live to be one hundred. Other people that are
- 2:54Speaker 1: as healthy as can be and they die early. It
- 2:57Speaker 1: just happens. Be honest. You go into any health food store,
- 3:02Speaker 1: any vegan wrestle. You go to a health food store,
- 3:04Speaker 1: everybody works there. It's pale and sick looking and weak looking.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Going to any pizza part everybody works. There's a big
- 3:10Speaker 1: strapping guy. So it's not just diet. It's important to
- 3:13Speaker 1: eat right. But uh, doctor Jean's pay a big part
- 3:17Speaker 1: in this. Hey Sacks Fifth Avenue, you know, it's one
- 3:21Speaker 1: of the big luxury chains. And then not long ago
- 3:24Speaker 1: they bought Nemon Marcus. They combine Sacks and Neman Marcus.
- 3:27Speaker 1: They bought Bergdruff Goodman. It was a massive deal and
- 3:32Speaker 1: then everything went wrong. They're heavily in debt. They've had
- 3:36Speaker 1: to file bankruptcy this week. They're in bankruptcy. A bunch
- 3:40Speaker 1: of things happen. One, people just don't go into big store,
- 3:43Speaker 1: even when it comes to those super luxury goods, they'll
- 3:46Speaker 1: buy it online. They don't go into the stores anymore.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And it's it just caused a total collapse of the
- 3:54Speaker 1: of Sacks. They filed bankruptcy. Now, don't panic if you're
- 3:58Speaker 1: a big Sax customer. In fact, some people say you
- 4:02Speaker 1: might be getting massive sales. Keep an eye on this
- 4:04Speaker 1: because one of the things are going to have to
- 4:07Speaker 1: do to get out of this bankruptcy. To get out
- 4:08Speaker 1: of all this debt, they're gonna have to close a
- 4:10Speaker 1: lot of stores. So a lot of stores will be
- 4:13Speaker 1: closing down. And how do you close down a store
- 4:16Speaker 1: you have an incredible sale. You got to get rid
- 4:18Speaker 1: of the inventory, so it's like ninety five percent off.
- 4:21Speaker 1: So keep an eye in your local store wherever you are.
- 4:23Speaker 1: If it's going to close, you're going to have an
- 4:26Speaker 1: opportunity to get incredible bargains. They've got this other you know,
- 4:30Speaker 1: lower priced. It's kind of an outlet store called Sacks
- 4:33Speaker 1: Off Fifth this one in Stanford. They're all over the place,
- 4:36Speaker 1: but one in Manhattan and expecting to close some of those.
- 4:41Speaker 1: They've already closed nine of them, but the main Sacks Off,
- 4:46Speaker 1: the New York City location they have to get rid
- 4:49Speaker 1: of stuff. In fact, they've been advertising stuff at eighty
- 4:52Speaker 1: five percent off. So keep an eye on this because
- 4:55Speaker 1: you you might be able to pick up some incredible bargains. Now,
- 5:01Speaker 1: Elon Musk, you remember you read he was the richest
- 5:03Speaker 1: guy in the world. He was worth two hundred million,
- 5:05Speaker 1: and he all a sudden, he's worth four hundred million,
- 5:07Speaker 1: five hundred million. Richest guy in the world. You know
- 5:09Speaker 1: what he's worth right now? Seven hundred and forty nine billion,
- 5:14Speaker 1: seven hundred and forty nine billion, Now, if you have
- 5:19Speaker 1: ten billion dollars, you pretty much can just do anything
- 5:24Speaker 1: and everything. If you have ten billion dollars and you
- 5:27Speaker 1: invest it wisely, the income off that will be a
- 5:30Speaker 1: billion a year. A billion a year. Now, you can't
- 5:34Speaker 1: spend it if you try. You can buy mansions, you
- 5:36Speaker 1: can buy Yachi can buy. So imagine if you had
- 5:38Speaker 1: seven hundred and fifty billion, which is what he's at,
- 5:41Speaker 1: seven hundred and fifty billion and climbing. It's expected that
- 5:45Speaker 1: it'll be the first trillionaire in the world. You always
- 5:50Speaker 1: had millionaires, the Rockefellers and the Vanderbilts, and then somewhere
- 5:54Speaker 1: in the fifties, out of all these millionaires, Howard Hughes
- 5:58Speaker 1: became the first billionaire and it was stunning to everybody
- 6:02Speaker 1: the guy could be worth a billion dollars. So this guy,
- 6:04Speaker 1: Elon Musk will be the first trillionaire ever. And it's
- 6:08Speaker 1: not that far away. They speaking of wealthy guys. The
- 6:12Speaker 1: hedge fund guy Bill Ackman, big hedge fund guy who's
- 6:16Speaker 1: always on TV and always tries to be very public.
- 6:19Speaker 1: You know a lot of these big hedge fund guys.
- 6:20Speaker 1: You wouldn't know them if you saw them. You wouldn't
- 6:22Speaker 1: know the name. They stay quiet, stay under the radar,
- 6:25Speaker 1: because if you you know too public, you become a target.
- 6:30Speaker 1: So the Ice officer who had to shoot Renee Good, well,
- 6:37Speaker 1: first of all, a GoFundMe page started for Renee Good
- 6:42Speaker 1: and raised one point five million for her and then
- 6:46Speaker 1: shut down. Then people started a go fundme page for
- 6:49Speaker 1: the Ice agent who had to do the shooting, just
- 6:53Speaker 1: to cover his expenses he may have legal expenses or whatever.
- 6:56Speaker 1: And I think it raised so far about three hundred thousand.
- 7:00Speaker 1: But Ackman wrote a ten thousand dollars, made a ten
- 7:02Speaker 1: thousand dollars donation ten thousand bucks. Now, he said he
- 7:07Speaker 1: would have given to both gofund memes. He would have
- 7:09Speaker 1: given to the Renee Good one too, but they had
- 7:11Speaker 1: closed it down. He didn't have a chance, so he
- 7:13Speaker 1: gave it to this Ice agent's go fund me. Well,
- 7:16Speaker 1: now left wing cooks got wind of this. They all
- 7:19Speaker 1: go crazy and they decided they would boycott Chipotle just
- 7:25Speaker 1: to get back at Bill Ackman. And it's a big
- 7:28Speaker 1: problem for Chipotle because when all these left wing kuks
- 7:30Speaker 1: started boycotting it, you lose a lot of money. Now
- 7:33Speaker 1: the problem is the reason they associated him with Chipotle.
- 7:38Speaker 1: You remember, Chipotle had a big problem ten years ago,
- 7:40Speaker 1: in twenty sixteen, there was a problem with they found
- 7:45Speaker 1: some contaminants in the food, and everybody stopped going to Chipotle.
- 7:50Speaker 1: And it's a great company, Chipotle, really good company, and
- 7:52Speaker 1: they whatever the problem was, they cleaned it up and
- 7:55Speaker 1: got rid of the contaminants, the whatever problems they had
- 7:59Speaker 1: with the food, and suddenly was safe to go back.
- 8:01Speaker 1: And then it really took off. But at that moment,
- 8:05Speaker 1: with the big crisis at Chipotle, the stock dropped way
- 8:08Speaker 1: down to nothing. And that's what hedge fund guys do,
- 8:10Speaker 1: like Bill Ackman. He jumped in and bought a ton
- 8:13Speaker 1: of stock. He was the major, one of the major shareholders,
- 8:17Speaker 1: and he got on the board and he started advising them,
- 8:20Speaker 1: showing him how to clean up the mess and work
- 8:22Speaker 1: their way back. Well, now Chipotle is doing better than ever.
- 8:25Speaker 1: The stock is a fortune. And so they're boycotting Chipotle
- 8:29Speaker 1: because of Ackman. But what they don't know is as
- 8:31Speaker 1: the stock kept rising, Ackman kept selling and when it
- 8:35Speaker 1: got back to normal a couple of years ago, Ackman
- 8:37Speaker 1: got out completely. He has absolutely no connection to Chipotle.
- 8:42Speaker 1: So you're boycotting the wrong people. But he made a fortune.
- 8:46Speaker 1: He had put like a billion dollars in there. He
- 8:48Speaker 1: made billions off this Chipotle. But he's long gone. He
- 8:51Speaker 1: has nothing to do with the company. Chipotle going crazy
- 8:54Speaker 1: trying to let everybody know that he's completely out of
- 8:58Speaker 1: the company. Nick Reiner, you remember the lawyer quit And
- 9:04Speaker 1: by the way, the lawyer, this hot shot, the criminal
- 9:06Speaker 1: lawyer in LA. He quit, but he's got a new
- 9:10Speaker 1: client and he's back in the LA courts now defending
- 9:13Speaker 1: this new client. This is another well, this is a
- 9:15Speaker 1: very rich kid in Malibu who was driving his BMW
- 9:21Speaker 1: and he ended up hitting four people and killing them,
- 9:24Speaker 1: four sorority sisters. This kind of thing you do if
- 9:28Speaker 1: you're a criminal lawyer in LA. You got to defend
- 9:29Speaker 1: these people. But the Malibu rich kid was a star
- 9:33Speaker 1: baseball player, been charged with vehicular manslaughter and killing these
- 9:37Speaker 1: four Pepperdine students. Lost control of his car. Here's where
- 9:43Speaker 1: he's gonna have a problem. He was driving on the
- 9:45Speaker 1: Pacific Coast Highway. He lost control of his car when
- 9:49Speaker 1: he was going one hundred and four miles an hour.
- 9:52Speaker 1: One hundred and four miles an hour, you're in felony
- 9:55Speaker 1: territory right there. I mean, that's not a speeding ticket,
- 9:57Speaker 1: that's an arrest if you're over a hundred month an hour.
- 10:00Speaker 1: But he got lost control of the car. He hit
- 10:03Speaker 1: three cars and then hit the students, killed four people.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I don't know how you are ever going to win
- 10:08Speaker 1: this case or defend this guy. But the hotshot lawyer
- 10:12Speaker 1: has taken the case. He's long gone from Nick Reiner. Now.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Nick Reiner apherently we didn't notice to him he'd been
- 10:19Speaker 1: officially declared schizophrenic. And the criminal lawyers have told me,
- 10:24Speaker 1: you can't defend the schizophrenic. You can't even communicate with them.
- 10:27Speaker 1: You don't know what they're talking to. They don't know
- 10:29Speaker 1: what they're talking about. It's impossible. Now. The other reason
- 10:32Speaker 1: the criminal lawyer might have abandoned Nick Reiner's case is
- 10:36Speaker 1: it turns out under California law, if you kill your parents,
- 10:40Speaker 1: you're not allowed to inherit anything from them. You're not
- 10:43Speaker 1: allowed to get any money from the estate. So he's
- 10:47Speaker 1: probably totally cut off financially and can't pay the criminal lawyer.
- 10:50Speaker 1: That might be the other problem. I'm just guessing at
- 10:52Speaker 1: that now. The other news is that officially, they've taken
- 10:57Speaker 1: the control of I forget what they call it, conservativeleadership
- 11:00Speaker 1: of Nick Reiner. They've declared him officially under control of
- 11:04Speaker 1: the conservatorship, which is probably something that should have been
- 11:08Speaker 1: done a long time ago. He definitely needs to be
- 11:11Speaker 1: put in an institution. But they've declared him officially, you know,
- 11:15Speaker 1: under the control of the conservatorship, who can now tell
- 11:18Speaker 1: him what to do in all of that strict court
- 11:21Speaker 1: ordered mental health conservatorship, which is reserved only for the very,
- 11:26Speaker 1: very very sickest people. So then the judge officially placed
- 11:31Speaker 1: him in this conservatorship for at least a year. It's
- 11:34Speaker 1: total legal restraint, and I guess that'll help with his defense,
- 11:40Speaker 1: which will be that he's mentally unfit to stand trial.
- 11:44Speaker 1: So we'll see what happens. Hey, Alec Baldwin, miserable guy,
- 11:50Speaker 1: has a big house in the Hamptons. You know, for
- 11:53Speaker 1: years he's been trying to sell this house and every
- 11:55Speaker 1: time he puts it on the market. It's a big,
- 11:57Speaker 1: beautiful Hampton's house. Every time time he puts it on
- 12:00Speaker 1: the market, nobody wants it, so he keeps cutting the price.
- 12:03Speaker 1: You know, it's like thirty million twenty five million, twenty million,
- 12:06Speaker 1: it's like eighteen million, dates back to seventeen forty historic house.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Nobody wants to buy it. I think it's because it's
- 12:13Speaker 1: got this Alec Baldwin's stigma to it. It's like, I mean, seriously,
- 12:18Speaker 1: would you want to be in Alec Baldwin's house. There's
- 12:20Speaker 1: something very creepy about this guy. I mean, you know,
- 12:24Speaker 1: he's cursing at his own kids, he's punching reporters, accidentally
- 12:29Speaker 1: shooting people in the face. Who wants to be in
- 12:30Speaker 1: this guy's house? Would you want to be in his bedroom?
- 12:34Speaker 1: So I think that's part of the problem. Expert the
- 12:38Speaker 1: real estate or Jenny Lenz of the Dolly Lenz Company said,
- 12:42Speaker 1: the other problem is to kind of let it run down.
- 12:44Speaker 1: It needs a lot of work. It's quite dated for
- 12:47Speaker 1: the current market. Also, it's not exactly the best location
- 12:50Speaker 1: in the Hamptons. Buyers are looking for something more modern, new,
- 12:54Speaker 1: better construction. All of that ten thousand square feet can't
- 12:58Speaker 1: sell it, can't do it anything with it. And this
- 13:01Speaker 1: has been going on for years and years and years.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Well that's the bonus segment of the podcast. Every weekend,
- 13:07Speaker 1: we give you a little extra segment. Otherwise, I'm here
- 13:10Speaker 1: Monday through Friday, ten to noon Monday through book except
- 13:14Speaker 1: this weekend's Martin Luther King Day weekend. Curtis will be
- 13:17Speaker 1: here for me on Monday, but thanks for listening. Mark
- 13:20Speaker 1: Simone here, I'll talk to you soon
