Washington’s high school graduation requirements are set for a major overhaul—no more 24 credits, but a smarter, more flexible mix. Students will need just 15 core credits (down from 17), while personalized pathways like arts and global languages expand to 5 credits—with art now counted as core. A new quantitative reasoning course (Algebra II, stats, or chemistry) and mandatory half-credit health and full-credit financial/life skills classes will round out the package.
