  Speaker 1: Yesterday we talked about living with nothing to prove. I

  Speaker 1: talked about living our life with nothing to prove. We

  Speaker 1: don't have to spend our lives trying to convince everybody

  Speaker 1: that we're good enough, strong enough, spiritually enough, or even
• 0:42
  Speaker 1: worthy enough. When we know who we are in Christ Jesus,

  Speaker 1: we can stop trying to perform for other people to
• 0:51
  Speaker 1: make them think one way or another of us. But
• 0:55
  Speaker 1: there's another side to that truth that I believe the
• 0:57
  Speaker 1: Lord wants to talk to us about this morning. Now
• 1:01
  Speaker 1: we may not have anything to prove, but we should
• 1:04
  Speaker 1: also have nothing to hide. And that's the title of
• 1:09
  Speaker 1: the devotion time this morning. And it comes to us
• 1:11
  Speaker 1: out of Psalm one thirty nine, verses twenty three and
• 1:15
  Speaker 1: twenty four. And I want you to listen to what
• 1:18
  Speaker 1: David prays and communicates to God's a very powerful prayer
• 1:23
  Speaker 1: when he says, search me, O, God, and know my heart,
• 1:28
  Speaker 1: try me and know my thoughts, and see if there
• 1:32
  Speaker 1: be any wicked way in me, and lead me in
• 1:38
  Speaker 1: the way everlasting. David prayed this, He prayed, search me, O, God,
• 1:44
  Speaker 1: and know my heart. Now. To me, that's a courageous
• 1:47
  Speaker 1: prayer because David was inviting God into the place that
• 1:52
  Speaker 1: most of us would rather keep locked. The truth is,
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: but God already knows what's there, and David knew He
• 2:01
  Speaker 1: knew what was there, so he's inviting him into a place.
• 2:06
  Speaker 1: Sometimes we call that the secret place of the hidden place,
• 2:09
  Speaker 1: the place that we don't even really know exactly what's
• 2:13
  Speaker 1: there that causes some of our actions and our reactions.

  Speaker 1: But God knows. He knows about the questions you have
• 2:21
  Speaker 1: this morning that you're afraid to ask. He knows about
• 2:24
  Speaker 1: the hurt you just can't seem to overcome. He knows
• 2:28
  Speaker 1: about the anger you haven't worked through yet. And yet
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: he even knows about the struggle you don't want anyone
• 2:36
  Speaker 1: else to see. And yet He still desires this morning
• 2:41
  Speaker 1: to lead you through it. Sometimes we think surrender means
• 2:47
  Speaker 1: bringing God the cleaned up version of ourselves. We come
• 2:52
  Speaker 1: to prayer saying all the right things while carefully avoiding
• 2:56
  Speaker 1: what is really happening on the inside of us. But
• 3:00
  Speaker 1: God doesn't need the polished version of you. This morning.

  Speaker 1: He wants the real you, the real us, to come
• 3:07
  Speaker 1: before him. If you're hurting this morning, tell him you're hurting.

  Speaker 1: If you're confused, tell him you don't understand what's going
• 3:15
  Speaker 1: on in your life. If you're angry, talk to him
• 3:19
  Speaker 1: about your anger and how you're feeling about certain things.
• 3:22
  Speaker 1: If you're afraid, bring him that fear this morning. And
• 3:26
  Speaker 1: if there is something in your life that you don't
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: even know how to explain, sit quietly before the Lord
• 3:33
  Speaker 1: and let him search that out for you. See, that's
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: what a real relationship, what Jesus Christ looks like. God
• 3:42
  Speaker 1: is not surprised by your honesty. Your questions don't threaten Jesus,
• 3:48
  Speaker 1: Your emotions don't push him away. In fact, some of
• 3:52
  Speaker 1: the deepest healing in our lives begins when we finally
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: stop hiding what God already knows. So maybe today your
• 4:01
  Speaker 1: prayer doesn't need to be long or try to be
• 4:05
  Speaker 1: impressive before God. Maybe it simply just needs to be honest. Lord,
• 4:11
  Speaker 1: Here I am. This is what I'm feeling this morning.

  Speaker 1: This is what I'm struggling with, This is what I
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: don't understand, this is what is bringing me so much
• 4:22
  Speaker 1: pain and confusion. Search me, O, Lord, know me, help
• 4:27
  Speaker 1: me and lead me through this season in my life,
• 4:32
  Speaker 1: because there is tremendous freedom Church in realizing that you
• 4:36
  Speaker 1: have nothing to prove before people and nothing to hide
• 4:41
  Speaker 1: from God. So come before Him just as you are
• 4:44
  Speaker 1: this morning. But don't plan on stand that way, because
• 4:48
  Speaker 1: when you get before the Master, he will change you
• 4:52
  Speaker 1: from the inside out. Why because the God who completely
• 4:56
  Speaker 1: knows you, it's also the God that completely loves you,
• 5:01
  Speaker 1: and he's ready today to search you, to know your heart,
• 5:05
  Speaker 1: and to lead you to the way everlasting. So today
• 5:09
  Speaker 1: you be safe, you be strong, and you be blessed,
• 5:13
  Speaker 1: and be honest with God. You've got nothing to hide.

  Speaker 1: He already knows you completely and he's ready for whatever
• 5:23
  Speaker 1: you bring to him today. Lords, where we will see
• 5:27
  Speaker 1: you back here again tomorrow. Until then, I sure hope
