- 0:19SPEAKER_09: He is our youngest son.
- 0:22SPEAKER_04: And he uh just had a baby.
- 0:24SPEAKER_04: He and he and Camille, his wife, our daughter-in-law.
- 0:28SPEAKER_04: Uh they they just had the little baby in the act.
- 0:34SPEAKER_04: I'm really no, it's it's exciting.
- 0:37SPEAKER_04: Because we got the pictures and yeah, he's adorable.
- 0:40SPEAKER_04: He's got red hair.
- 0:41SPEAKER_09: He has red hair like his G-Paw.

- 0:44SPEAKER_09: We are a blended family, and we have, let's see, he is our eighth grandbaby.
- 0:50SPEAKER_04: Right, Callum is his name.
- 0:52SPEAKER_09: Yeah, but he is your first.
- 0:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, my first biological.
- 0:56SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 0:57SPEAKER_04: Uh so grandchild.
- 0:59SPEAKER_04: So I got so much to teach this guy.
- 1:00SPEAKER_04: They they need to just set up a schedule where I can spend two, three, four hours at a time.
- 1:07SPEAKER_09: I think that's the last thing they're gonna do.
- 1:12SPEAKER_04: Episode 142.
- 1:13SPEAKER_04: Uh, we're in a um we're in a production meeting for DNC Media.
- 1:17SPEAKER_04: Did you did you see the list of the top paid uh podcasts for 2026?
- 1:22SPEAKER_04: Uh is that Forbes that came out with that?
- 1:25SPEAKER_09: Um Let me see.
- 1:28SPEAKER_09: Yep, Forbes.
- 1:29SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:29SPEAKER_04: Uh you have the list?
- 1:31SPEAKER_09: I have the list.
- 1:32SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: If you would just uh maybe okay, who's number one on that?
- 1:36SPEAKER_09: The Joe Rogan experience.
- 1:38SPEAKER_09: How much?
- 1:39SPEAKER_09: 82 million.
- 1:41SPEAKER_04: Okay, go down.
- 1:42SPEAKER_04: I don't know, go down.
- 1:43SPEAKER_04: Uh well are are we after?
- 1:45SPEAKER_04: Or is is is it Joe?
- 1:47SPEAKER_09: And then No, no, we're not second.
- 1:49SPEAKER_04: Uh okay.
- 1:50SPEAKER_09: Go skip down a few more and look and see if we're and then you got TBPN, the diary of a CEO, crime junkie.
- 2:00SPEAKER_04: What's the money involved with those?
- 2:02SPEAKER_09: 70 million, 45 million, crime junkies, 42 million.
- 2:06SPEAKER_09: Okay, after after crime junkies are smartless 37 million.
- 2:12SPEAKER_04: Scroll where are we?
- 2:13SPEAKER_09: Just heights 35.
- 2:15SPEAKER_04: Can you scroll down and find us?
- 2:16SPEAKER_09: I'm at the bottom.
- 2:18SPEAKER_04: I was born a poor black child.
- 2:21SPEAKER_04: What are you talking about?
- 2:21SPEAKER_04: Do you remember what came up?
- 2:22SPEAKER_04: But we had a pretty substantive conversation about something.
- 2:25SPEAKER_09: And I said, well, let's just Oh, we were talking about robots.
- 2:28SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 2:29SPEAKER_09: How they try to make them look human.
- 2:30SPEAKER_04: I've been watching uh these these robots.
- 2:33SPEAKER_04: Have you been paying attention to I think Tesla, I know Elon Musk is working on a on a prototype robot, and yeah, the prediction is that in a few years that they will be just like every like you have a vacuum in your house, you'll have a robot that'll be that common.
- 2:48SPEAKER_09: It'd be nice to have a robot who can do the cleaning and cooking.
- 2:51SPEAKER_04: I asked, why are they working so hard to make it humanoid?
- 2:55SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 2:55SPEAKER_04: Because is that is is the design of having two arms, two legs, you know, and a head or whatever, the design that just like us, a prototype of us, is that the best design to do all the things that they like?
- 3:07SPEAKER_09: I know that humans are perfectly designed.
- 3:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 3:12SPEAKER_04: And that's where I'm going with this.
- 3:13SPEAKER_04: For example, we were watching a video yesterday of this robot.
- 3:16SPEAKER_04: He was in a in like a conference room where they were doing this demonstration, but they had all the windows blocked with you know barriers.
- 3:24SPEAKER_09: He got crazy and threw somebody out.
- 3:28SPEAKER_04: Then he had uh these little tiny feet, and the surface was ultra smooth, you know, not even carpeted.
- 3:33SPEAKER_04: It was a non-carpeted surface.
- 3:35SPEAKER_04: And then these they just kind of kind of went overboard with trying to accommodate did you ever see that movie iRobot with Will Smith?
- 3:42SPEAKER_04: No, I did not actually.
- 3:43SPEAKER_04: I saw I've seen trailers, I know what it's about, but I've never seen it.
- 3:46SPEAKER_09: You should watch it, it's pretty good.
- 3:47SPEAKER_04: Well, what's the what's the deal with it?
- 3:49SPEAKER_04: Or or is it that robots take over or something?
- 3:51SPEAKER_09: Robots are taking over.
- 3:52SPEAKER_04: Oh well, and and the whole point that that we were going with our conversation was it's amazing that as hard as these engineers, as maybe the best and brightest on the planet, try to replicate what God says is is fearfully and wondrously made.
- 4:12SPEAKER_04: Um yeah, I mean, the fact that the harder they try, the clunkier those things look.
- 4:16SPEAKER_09: Right.
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: And maybe for marketing purposes too, because maybe, you know, I want something that would kind of remind me that I have another person in the room and just the instead of just a you know mechanical demand.
- 4:27SPEAKER_04: Maybe that's a little creepy, but good point.
- 4:31SPEAKER_04: Good point.
- 4:31SPEAKER_04: So we went and saw um Odyssey.
- 4:34SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it was good.
- 4:36SPEAKER_04: We decided the night before to set the alarm for 5 a.m.
- 4:40SPEAKER_04: And I'm vaguely familiar with the story.
- 4:42SPEAKER_09: It's from um Homer's The Odyssey poem.
- 4:46SPEAKER_04: Were you familiar before we went and saw it?
- 4:48SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 4:48SPEAKER_04: Well, you're yeah, you know, you're highly educated.
- 4:51SPEAKER_04: I have no formal education.
- 4:52SPEAKER_09: So I read it in high school.
- 4:54SPEAKER_04: So you're familiar with it.
- 4:55SPEAKER_04: So I didn't know what, but I did, you know, the the beauty of of uh of our day is I just looked it up and read the story, and I got became familiar with the story before we went to the movie.
- 5:05SPEAKER_04: But it but it's a three-hour-long movie.
- 5:07SPEAKER_04: They have the first showing at 8 a.m.
- 5:11SPEAKER_04: at the IMAX near us.
- 5:13SPEAKER_04: So uh so we made it like a little breakfast thing.
- 5:15SPEAKER_04: We went to the city.
- 5:16SPEAKER_09: That was the earliest movie I've ever been to.
- 5:18SPEAKER_04: Me too.
- 5:18SPEAKER_04: I think so.
- 5:19SPEAKER_04: Unless you count.
- 5:20SPEAKER_04: I've been in New York and gone to a 3 a.m.
- 5:22SPEAKER_04: movie, 4 a.m.
- 5:23SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 5:24SPEAKER_04: But um, but yeah, in terms of like getting up and going to the movies, yeah, 8 a.m.
- 5:28SPEAKER_04: So we went and had um breakfast at eggs, what is that?
- 5:32SPEAKER_09: Eggs up grill.
- 5:33SPEAKER_04: Eggs up grill.
- 5:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's really good.
- 5:35SPEAKER_04: And I was surprised they didn't have food at the theater, but we went to the IMAX theater and it was uh deserted.
- 5:42SPEAKER_04: We had the whole we were the only ones in the theater.
- 5:45SPEAKER_04: Um all self-serve.
- 5:47SPEAKER_04: You know, I hadn't been to a movie in a little while where well, well, we go to this to the dinner theater thing where you order dinner, but in terms of just going to the regular theater.
- 5:56SPEAKER_09: Yeah, they're awfully trusting, they just have their popcorn sitting out and you just go pick up your bucket and go.
- 6:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:03SPEAKER_04: So so the movie would.
- 6:05SPEAKER_09: But you did not, because I'm not eating that poison.
- 6:08SPEAKER_04: Oh, I got some too, didn't I?
- 6:10SPEAKER_09: You did, but norm normally when we would go to a movie, we would get a ginormous bucket of it.
- 6:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:17SPEAKER_09: But uh, you just got a little kiddie thing of it.
- 6:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that was plenty.
- 6:21SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 6:22SPEAKER_04: So did um so what'd you think of the movie?
- 6:25SPEAKER_09: I loved it.
- 6:26SPEAKER_04: You did love it.
- 6:27SPEAKER_09: Yeah, I did.
- 6:28SPEAKER_09: Um I just like the story.
- 6:31SPEAKER_04: It's a love story, right?
- 6:32SPEAKER_04: At its core.
- 6:34SPEAKER_09: I think so.
- 6:35SPEAKER_09: I always forget his name, Odysseus, right?
- 6:37SPEAKER_09: And Penelope.
- 6:39SPEAKER_09: And I just love her loyalty to him.
- 6:43SPEAKER_09: Like he's gone for all those years, and she never never wavered.
- 6:48SPEAKER_09: Never wavered.
- 6:49SPEAKER_09: He fought so hard to get home.
- 6:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:51SPEAKER_04: And then they end up uh well, I won't tell you the end of the story, but um what I didn't like about it, it is filled with a lot of other god talk.
- 7:00SPEAKER_04: There's the you know, the the Greeks at that time and the and the Romans at that time.
- 7:06SPEAKER_04: A lot of polytheism.
- 7:07SPEAKER_04: They talk a lot about, you know, other gods, and they get into um there's a there's a scene that depicts some extreme witchcraft, which I don't know, I just didn't like all that.
- 7:16SPEAKER_09: Did you have to study Greek mythology when you were in school?
- 7:20SPEAKER_04: No, I don't think so.
- 7:22SPEAKER_09: We did.
- 7:22SPEAKER_09: The Roman Empire fell for a reason because they were also just like another nice country I know of that's yeah, headed that way.
- 7:30SPEAKER_08: The Doc and Carolyn Podcast!
- 7:32SPEAKER_04: The Doc and Carolyn Podcast.
- 7:34SPEAKER_04: Powered by Powered by Powered by Hammock Solutions, Lufkin, Texas, USA.

- 7:44SPEAKER_07: Somebody calls and has a virus or something like that, they can get it removed, or if any data restoration or anything like that.
- 7:50SPEAKER_04: You went to our page.
- 7:51SPEAKER_04: Did you start to weep, or what was your response?
- 7:54SPEAKER_07: I did notice a few issues that needed to be fixed.
- 7:56SPEAKER_07: Your copyright on the bottom of the screen was kind of over some objects, so I kind of fixed that.
- 8:01SPEAKER_07: I added an archive page and kind of build it up a little bit.
- 8:04SPEAKER_07: Most of my business has to do with software, anything that can be done remotely, I will typically do it remotely.
- 8:09SPEAKER_07: How can someone get a hold of you if they have an issue that you can fix with?
- 8:12SPEAKER_07: They can find us on Facebook under Hammock Solutions.

- 8:23SPEAKER_04: Hammock Solutions, technical solution for the Doc and Carolyn Podcast.
- 8:27SPEAKER_04: Massachusetts passed a law.
- 8:30SPEAKER_04: Governor uh Mara Healy signed a sign into law um bill that allows abortions up until the moment of birth.
- 8:39SPEAKER_09: Yeah, they had a limit up to 24 weeks, which was disgusting enough.
- 8:44SPEAKER_04: If you get a chance, go see the movie, or not go see, but uh stream the movie Gosnell.
- 8:50SPEAKER_04: This is an abortion doctor.
- 8:51SPEAKER_04: It's a it's an old story.
- 8:52SPEAKER_04: He re he just passed away.
- 8:53SPEAKER_04: Gosnell, Dr.
- 8:54SPEAKER_04: Gosnell, just passed away in March of this year.
- 8:57SPEAKER_09: I hope he repented.
- 8:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's it what there are a bunch of documentaries about him and a movie and a dramatic uh story about about how he ended up in prison.
- 9:08SPEAKER_04: He's an abortion doctor, but he was aborting uh, and you know, you'd have to pay the money, but for you give him$10,000,$15,000,$20,000, and he would abort your baby right after it's born.
- 9:20SPEAKER_04: And he went to prison for that.
- 9:21SPEAKER_04: Just he he was in prison at the time of his death.
- 9:24SPEAKER_04: He just died back in March.
- 9:25SPEAKER_04: So abortion in the news again again, and 10 what would you say, 10 other states already allow something similar?
- 9:32SPEAKER_04: So and this is I don't know, this is extremely demonic and dark.
- 9:35SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it's child sacrifice.
- 9:37SPEAKER_04: It just like from ancient times.
- 9:39SPEAKER_04: Listen to these words from an abortion doc, and then we'll move on from this.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: I used to make$800 in 15 minutes doing a DE abortion, and I was dedicated.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: This is I tell people, you know, some people say they're pro-life or pro-choice.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: But when you're a gynecologist and you say you're pro-choice, this isn't some vague political position.
- 10:00SPEAKER_01: You have to decide whether you're going to do those abortions.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: And I did.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: I was dedicated to it.
- 10:06SPEAKER_01: And you can rationalize it a thousand ways.
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm the hero here, I'm I'm being a great doctor, taking care of her problem, and and all of this.
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: My wife and I had struggled with infertility.
- 10:19SPEAKER_01: We were able to adopt a little girl we named Heather.
- 10:22SPEAKER_01: Subsequently, my wife did get pregnant very quickly after we adopted our daughter.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: But two exactly two months from my daughter's sixth birthday, she was killed in an auto accident.
- 10:32SPEAKER_01: And I don't remember how long it was after her death, but I showed up at the hospital to do a D ⁇ E abortion.
- 10:39SPEAKER_01: Wasn't thinking of it at anything special.
- 10:41SPEAKER_01: This is routine.
- 10:43SPEAKER_01: Um put that sofa clamp in, ripped out an arm or a leg, and just stared at it in the clamp and got sick.
- 10:52SPEAKER_01: But once you start an abortion, you can't stop.
- 10:55SPEAKER_01: You have to get two arms, two legs, and all the pieces.
- 10:59SPEAKER_01: Because if you don't, your patient will come back infected, bleeding, or dead.
- 11:04SPEAKER_01: So I finished that abortion.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: I said earlier that I didn't care, and I didn't care.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: It wasn't that I suddenly saw unborn babies as human beings.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: I always knew they were human beings.
- 11:18SPEAKER_01: But this was something different.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: For the first time in my career, after all those abortions, I looked.
- 11:25SPEAKER_01: I mean, I after everything had we had what we were going through losing a child, I looked.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: I mean, I really looked at that pile of body parts.
- 11:36SPEAKER_01: And I didn't see her wonderful right to choose, and I didn't see what a great doctor I was helping her with her problem, and I didn't even see the$800 cash I just made in 15 minutes.
- 11:48SPEAKER_01: All I could see was somebody's son or daughter.
- 11:51SPEAKER_01: That was the change.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: That was the change right there.
- 11:55SPEAKER_03: Welcome to this Kingdom Minute with your host, Kimberly Blakes on the Doc and Carolyn podcast.
- 12:00SPEAKER_03: Thought about how horrible a lot of people live their lives and how they cannot forgive and they cannot move on.
- 12:06SPEAKER_03: And because of this, they don't go any further in life.
- 12:09SPEAKER_03: And I'm gonna tell you, you gotta let it go.
- 12:11SPEAKER_03: You have to forgive it no matter what the slight is, no matter what the wrong is, no matter who the person is.
- 12:16SPEAKER_03: I don't want to hear about your details because people will run down the whole detail, yeah, but they did this.
- 12:21SPEAKER_03: It does not matter because think about what we did to Christ.
- 12:24SPEAKER_03: When he hung there in front of the people that were doing it to him, he said, forgive them.
- 12:29SPEAKER_03: Stephen was able to do it too, and he was not Christ.
- 12:32SPEAKER_03: So you can't tell me that what has happened to you is so bad that you cannot forgive.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: You can.
- 12:37SPEAKER_03: You're choosing not to.
- 12:39SPEAKER_03: And if you find that you cannot, you're not doing it in the strength that God gave you.
- 12:43SPEAKER_03: So what you have to do is you have to go to the Lord and tell him to teach me how to forgive.
- 12:48SPEAKER_03: Teach me to release this offense.
- 12:50SPEAKER_03: Help me to release this offense and not lay it at their feet.
- 12:54SPEAKER_03: Give it to the Lord.
- 12:55SPEAKER_03: He is the burden bearer.
- 12:57SPEAKER_03: Thank you for tuning in to this Kingdom Minute with your host, Kimberly Blakes, on the Doc and Carolyn podcast.
- 13:02SPEAKER_03: You can find me on Facebook at Kimberly Blakes, and I also have a podcast called The Faith Frame Perspective.
- 13:08SPEAKER_03: I'll see you guys there.
- 13:12SPEAKER_04: I came across a um a really interesting interview with Gary Breca, I think his name is.
- 13:19SPEAKER_09: Oh, yeah.
- 13:19SPEAKER_04: You familiar?
- 13:20SPEAKER_09: Oh, very familiar.
- 13:21SPEAKER_04: What is what is he what's his claim to fame?
- 13:23SPEAKER_09: Um, he's a famous biohacker.
- 13:27SPEAKER_04: What is that?
- 13:28SPEAKER_09: He does wellness and he um he looks mu he mostly looks at your genes to figure out maybe some deficiencies that you have.
- 13:38SPEAKER_04: How close is it to your functional medicine practice?
- 13:41SPEAKER_09: It's close.
- 13:42SPEAKER_09: I don't do the genetic testing yet, but I may be offering that later.
- 13:47SPEAKER_04: So Gary Brecca has a famous client, Steve Harvey.
- 13:50SPEAKER_04: Came across the interview, and it sounded a lot like what you do.
- 13:53SPEAKER_04: He talks about what were Steve's issues when he first met with him.
- 13:57SPEAKER_05: Listen to this.
- 13:58SPEAKER_05: The leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease is something called metabolic syndrome.
- 14:02SPEAKER_05: And we know the cardiovascular disease is the leading killer in the world.
- 14:05SPEAKER_05: And when you have metabolic syndrome, it's when you have any two of the five things that you just mentioned: high triglycerides, high blood fat, um, elevated insulin, your hyperinsulinemic, elevated blood sugar, uh, abdominal obesity, and uh high blood pressure.
- 14:21SPEAKER_05: And and also the you know, low uh healthy cholesterol, HTL cholesterol.
- 14:26SPEAKER_04: What percentage of people have those those issues?
- 14:29SPEAKER_09: Uh almost 40 percent.
- 14:31SPEAKER_04: 40% of people just walking around with metabolic syndrome.
- 14:34SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 14:34SPEAKER_04: And when you would say that, I would never it it never meant anything to me.
- 14:38SPEAKER_04: You know, if I I can't bring an image of metabolic syndrome up in my head, but it's just these any combination of those factors, well, more than two of those factors.
- 14:48SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 14:48SPEAKER_04: And you so how do you feel if you have can is there a symptoms-related reference that you just feel tired, you feel you just don't feel well.
- 15:00SPEAKER_09: Uh and you're um when when you do labs, you'll you should know, but the problem is most primary care physicians don't even look at your insulin.
- 15:11SPEAKER_09: I had never had my insulin checked.
- 15:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 15:14SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 15:15SPEAKER_09: And no one checks vitamin D.
- 15:18SPEAKER_09: And people think of people who are overweight would have metabolic syndrome.
- 15:25SPEAKER_09: But you can be what's called skinny fat.
- 15:28SPEAKER_04: Ah, yeah.
- 15:29SPEAKER_09: Which means you have all all of those symptoms, but you're not um you're not overweight.
- 15:36SPEAKER_04: Well, the purpose, uh, I thought this would be interesting to play on our podcast because when you think of functional integrative medicine, for me, I just just for me, it sounds exotic.
- 15:46SPEAKER_04: It sounds like it's so far off the beaten path that it's if that it's questionable, like it it will it work for me, right?
- 15:54SPEAKER_04: That kind of thing.
- 15:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there a lot of people think it's quackery, but it's all a lot of people a lot of like the average person just thinks it's quackery, and what does quackery mean?
- 16:06SPEAKER_09: Meaning, well, you know, we have a sick care system that does things a certain way.
- 16:11SPEAKER_09: So if you're doing things differently than the status quo, then it has to be quackery.
- 16:16SPEAKER_09: But it's all evidence-based medicine.
- 16:18SPEAKER_09: There are tons of studies for everything we do.
- 16:21SPEAKER_04: For functional medicine, yeah.
- 16:22SPEAKER_09: Yes.
- 16:22SPEAKER_09: What the experts are saying has 40% of people with metabolic syndrome.
- 16:28SPEAKER_04: Gotcha.
- 16:28SPEAKER_04: So check out Steve Harvey talking to his functional integrative medicine coach, Gary Breca, about their journey.
- 16:34SPEAKER_02: You told me, you said, hey, man, give me 70 days.
- 16:38SPEAKER_02: Just give me 70 days.
- 16:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:40SPEAKER_02: Look, man, I've come on.
- 16:43SPEAKER_02: 70?
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: Okay, cool.
- 16:44SPEAKER_02: To fix the rest of my life.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: And weeks.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: You know, I got 70 days.
- 16:48SPEAKER_02: I lost weight before uh during COVID.
- 16:51SPEAKER_02: I went on this special program, lose 21 pounds in 21 days.
- 16:56SPEAKER_02: And I did it.
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: I actually lost 25 pounds in 21 days.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 17:02SPEAKER_02: I followed it to the T.
- 17:04SPEAKER_02: You intermittent fast, you stop eating at 8, you eat again at 12.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: They send your food in the bag to your house.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: It was doing COVID, so I couldn't go anywhere.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: TV was shut off.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: So I waited on this bag, and at 12 I could eat.
- 17:16SPEAKER_02: But I could only eat 1,000 calories a day.
- 17:19SPEAKER_02: You're starving yourself.
- 17:20SPEAKER_02: And you weigh yourself every day, Sage.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: I was sitting on that stage, getting on that scale every day, weighing myself, and boom, the weight was dropping off.
- 17:29SPEAKER_02: But when I stepped on my in-body machine, which tells you how much body fat you have, water, muscle tone, tissue, yeah, I lost this weight, man.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: And on the 21st day, I couldn't wait to get off this program, but I had lost this weight.
- 17:44SPEAKER_02: But I had lost so much muscle tone.
- 17:47SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 17:48SPEAKER_04: You talk about that a lot.
- 17:50SPEAKER_04: Um, you can see it in the way in in their in people in in the appearance of people who have lost that muscle mass.
- 17:58SPEAKER_09: It's pretty easy to spot who has been on a GLP one.
- 18:02SPEAKER_04: And why is that bad?
- 18:03SPEAKER_04: I I recently heard uh maybe a podcaster heard somebody call muscle metabolic currency.
- 18:09SPEAKER_04: What does that mean?
- 18:10SPEAKER_09: It means your muscle is what uses your glucose.
- 18:15SPEAKER_09: So if you the more muscle you have, the better metabolic health you're going to have because it's using up the ex excess glucose in your bloodstream rather than storing it in your liver.
- 18:28SPEAKER_04: And when you have that glucose in your bloodstream, that's what creates insulin re resistance and the and pre-diabetes and all that?
- 18:36SPEAKER_09: Yeah, simply put, yes.
- 18:38SPEAKER_04: And and make it complicated.
- 18:41SPEAKER_09: And fatty liver, because again, if you're not using it in your muscles, it's going to store in your liver.
- 18:48SPEAKER_04: All right, let's check back in with Steve and hear more of his story.
- 18:51SPEAKER_05: Every other week I was talking to you, and you were like, Man, I am sleeping so much better.
- 18:56SPEAKER_05: I got so much more energy at the office.
- 18:58SPEAKER_05: I dropped the five-hour energy.
- 19:00SPEAKER_05: Um, because those are terrible for you.
- 19:04SPEAKER_06: Per your genes, you can't have the main ingredient, which is called cyanocobalamin, which is a cyanide-based B12.
- 19:11SPEAKER_06: And that was messing you up more than you realized.
- 19:13SPEAKER_02: Oh man, and I'm I'm taking two a day.
- 19:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:16SPEAKER_02: Because I'm on Family Feud, I'm on the radio, I got a judge show.
- 19:19SPEAKER_02: I'm just trying to stay functional because I gotta be sharp.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 19:23SPEAKER_02: And it gave me that joke.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 19:25SPEAKER_02: But then it would make you crash.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: But man, I was hurting.
- 19:28SPEAKER_02: You know, the main thing you taught me that I really learned was you said there is no one fix for everybody.
- 19:34SPEAKER_02: That is true.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: You take this pill that'll cure your this, this, this, and this.
- 19:38SPEAKER_02: No, man.
- 19:39SPEAKER_02: Everybody, you could take this type of vitamin D and it'll do you nothing.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 19:43SPEAKER_02: I've been taking vitamin D pills, and my vitamin D was like a what, a 19?
- 19:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, 19.
- 19:48SPEAKER_05: It was half the lowest end of the range.
- 19:50SPEAKER_02: What's it now?
- 19:51SPEAKER_02: 96.
- 19:53SPEAKER_04: You know what I hear in that?
- 19:54SPEAKER_04: I hear he's almost like the the woman in scripture that has spent every dollar she had.
- 20:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 20:01SPEAKER_04: You know, that it describes as an issue of blood.
- 20:03SPEAKER_04: And if I could just get to the point, I could press through this crowd and touch the hem of the of the garment that the that the Messiah, that Yeshua, that Jesus is wearing, I can be better.
- 20:14SPEAKER_04: And he and Steve just sounds like Steve Harvey in this, just sounds like he was almost at his wit's end, you know.
- 20:20SPEAKER_04: And just drinking, you know, five hour energies to and you you've told me all the time how bad that that can be on on the body.
- 20:28SPEAKER_04: It's really not real not good for you at all.
- 20:30SPEAKER_09: No, not at all.
- 20:31SPEAKER_09: Not only because of the caffeine, but because, like they said, the I always I don't even know if I say this correctly, but the cyanocobalamine.
- 20:42SPEAKER_04: Sounds pretty good to me.
- 20:43SPEAKER_09: Yeah, it's a synthetic vitamin, and half the population can't uh metabolize that because of their genetics.
- 20:50SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 20:51SPEAKER_09: So they also go get the B12 shots that are also that, the synthetic B12.
- 20:57SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 20:57SPEAKER_09: So if you're going to get a B12 shot, make sure you're getting the methylcobalamine because that's not that's better.
- 21:04SPEAKER_09: Your body can metabolize it.
- 21:06SPEAKER_09: Everybody's body can metabolize it.
- 21:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 21:08SPEAKER_04: And you know, I I think we I I'd hate to think that that I would become defeatist.
- 21:13SPEAKER_04: And it wasn't I I wasn't ever defeatist.
- 21:16SPEAKER_04: I just thought I needed to work harder.
- 21:17SPEAKER_04: I figured if I could if I could just, you know, just force myself to do an extra set in the gym, or I can walk an extra mile, or I can but I was taking in all of this, I was ingesting so much, so many things that uh that in supplements that weren't helping, and then I was ingesting food, what so-called food, but it was ultra-processed a lot of it, because I didn't know any better.
- 21:38SPEAKER_09: It's just like a car.
- 21:39SPEAKER_09: You can't put trash gasoline in it that has half half gas and half water, and then expect it to perform.
- 21:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and and maybe that's how we should think of ourselves.
- 21:50SPEAKER_04: I mean, if I want to perform at a high level, I gotta, I gotta, you know, put myself in a position to do that.
- 21:55SPEAKER_04: So, conclusion, this is the last part of uh of Steve's uh Steve Harvey's.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Interview with Gary Becca, his um his wellness consultant.
- 22:03SPEAKER_04: And and again, this is exactly what you do.
- 22:05SPEAKER_04: I mean, he's you know, I I don't know what you know how many tens of thousands or how many dollars he invested in this at the beginning of this.
- 22:11SPEAKER_04: I don't think I played that.
- 22:12SPEAKER_04: He he's talking to this guy, he says, Listen, where are you?
- 22:15SPEAKER_04: Oh, if you're anywhere in the country, I'll be I'll be in your presence in 48 hours.
- 22:19SPEAKER_09: Yeah.
- 22:20SPEAKER_09: And it does get expensive.
- 22:22SPEAKER_09: I'm learning that I weigh undercharge.
- 22:26SPEAKER_09: So um, and that may change in the future, but for right now, I'm comfortable doing that.
- 22:33SPEAKER_09: Um but yeah, it's expensive.
- 22:35SPEAKER_09: A lot of the testing is expensive.
- 22:37SPEAKER_09: Um, I try my best to keep everything affordable.
- 22:41SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 22:41SPEAKER_09: Because I just want, because everybody can't afford that.
- 22:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 22:46SPEAKER_09: And I just want to help as many people as I can.
- 22:49SPEAKER_04: So this is the conclusion, Steve Harvey, with this uh functional integrative medicine uh coach, Gary Brecka.
- 22:55SPEAKER_05: Insulin was in the pre-diabetic range, insulin resistance, they call that.
- 22:59SPEAKER_05: That's normal now.
- 23:00SPEAKER_05: Your three-month average of your blood sugar was prediabetic.
- 23:04SPEAKER_05: It's in the low end of normal now.
- 23:06SPEAKER_05: Your healthy cholesterol is elevated, your lethal cholesterol is down, the blood pressure last time we took it had normalized.
- 23:13SPEAKER_05: Clearly, the abdominal obesity is going away.
- 23:15SPEAKER_05: You went from five of five to zero of five.
- 23:18SPEAKER_05: And I think the message for people listening to this podcast is given your schedule and your lifestyle and your travel and the amount of demands that you have, you had to number one make the time, number two, make the commitment to it.
- 23:32SPEAKER_05: And and what I want people to know is how hard was it?
- 23:37SPEAKER_05: And now how likely are you to go back?
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: Well, here's the deal.
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: You you talk about my commitment, but you the two most important things you have, everybody has, the two most important things is your health and your time.
- 23:54SPEAKER_02: If you're out of either one of those, you're in a world of trouble.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: That is true.
- 23:59SPEAKER_02: You out of time, you go, you're gone.
- 24:03SPEAKER_02: You go.
- 24:04SPEAKER_02: You out of health.
- 24:05SPEAKER_02: Even if you here, you sick.
- 24:07SPEAKER_02: What is this?
- 24:08SPEAKER_02: So you gotta prioritize, right?
- 24:11SPEAKER_02: And look, it it requires a discipline.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: You know, look, you're not gonna change without discipline.
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: You can't be successful without a discipline.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: Most successful people understand that.
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: But most people who go to school and graduate from high school, you have to be disciplined to get a degree.
- 24:28SPEAKER_02: No doubt.
- 24:28SPEAKER_02: You have to be disciplined to get up and go to the post office every day.
- 24:31SPEAKER_02: You gotta be disciplined to get up and carry mail every day.
- 24:35SPEAKER_02: You gotta be disciplined to be a united auto worker all day.
- 24:39SPEAKER_02: These are disciplined people.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: I was I was all of that.
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: You know, I worked in the automobile industry.
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: I've been, you have to be disciplined to wake up and take care of your family.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: So we all have it in us.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: It's just the commitment that you want to make.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:55SPEAKER_02: But it's an important commitment, you know.
- 24:58SPEAKER_02: Come on, man.
- 24:59SPEAKER_02: You gotta do something to fix yourself.
- 25:01SPEAKER_02: Because if I had five of those markers, and I knew none of this before, if I had five of those markers, two, you're in trouble.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: You're at risk.
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: I had all five of them.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: I'm pretty much was on just getting ready.
- 25:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 25:15SPEAKER_09: I'm Carolyn Kilgore, founder and provider at TrueHealing Healthcare.net.
- 25:20SPEAKER_04: Why functional medicine?
- 25:22SPEAKER_09: Because you're more than just a list of symptoms.
- 25:24SPEAKER_09: Traditional care often masks the problem, but functional medicine digs deeper to find the root cause.
- 25:30SPEAKER_04: What makes true healing healthcare different?
- 25:33SPEAKER_09: We move away from the one size fits all approach.

- 25:44SPEAKER_09: If you're tired of feeling fine and want to start feeling great, it's about proactive wellness, not just reactive treatment.
- 25:51SPEAKER_04: What's the deal with telemedicine?

- 26:08SPEAKER_08: The Ok and Carlin Podcast!
- 26:10SPEAKER_00: Revelation to John, chapter 7.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: After this, I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth, that no wind might blow on earth or sea or against any tree.
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: Then I saw another angel ascending from the rising of the sun with the seal of the living God, and he called with a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm earth and sea, saying, Do not harm the earth or the sea or the trees until we have sealed the servants of our God on their foreheads.
- 26:49SPEAKER_00: And I heard the number of the sealed, one hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed from every tribe of the sons of Israel, twelve thousand from the tribe of Judah were sealed, twelve thousand from the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand from the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand from the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand from the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand from the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand from the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand from the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand from the tribe of Benjamin were sealed.
- 27:35SPEAKER_00: After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne and to the Lamb.
- 28:04SPEAKER_00: And all the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, and they fell on their faces before the throne and worshipped God, saying, Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might be to our God for ever and ever.
- 28:27SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 28:28SPEAKER_00: Then one of the elders addressed me, saying, Who are these clothed in white robes, and from where have they come?
- 28:37SPEAKER_00: I said to him, Sir, you know.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: And he said to me, These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation.
- 28:45SPEAKER_00: They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
- 28:51SPEAKER_00: Therefore, they are before the throne of God and serve him day and night in his temple.
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: And he who sits on the throne will shelter them with his presence.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: The sun shall not strike them, nor any scorching heat, for the lamb in the midst of the throne will be their shepherd, and he will guide them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.
