- 0:03Speaker 1: Welcome into Off the Bench. Ooh, you're scary.
- 0:06Speaker 2: We're bringing you the spookiest sports talk in town.
- 0:11Speaker 1: With Jacob Hester.
- 0:13Speaker 3: And Matt Lynn.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Terrifying and terrible. Live from the.
- 0:18Speaker 3: Haunted Raising Cane's.
- 0:19Speaker 1: Studio, here's Jacob Hester and Matt Lynn.
- 0:48Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in OTB here live from the
- 0:51Speaker 4: Raising Cane studio. So yesterday, I think it was yesterday.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Maybe it was Tuesday.
- 1:02Speaker 4: We kind of laid out LSU within the SEC, what
- 1:05Speaker 4: they were. on offense and what they were on defense.
- 1:09Speaker 4: And when we did that, we had one of our
- 1:12Speaker 4: listeners said, Hey, what about Alabama?
- 1:14Speaker 3: Can you kind of do a comparison?
- 1:17Speaker 4: And when you put the two side by side, I
- 1:21Speaker 4: think you're going to be surprised by some of these numbers.
- 1:25Speaker 4: LSU number one offense in the sec talked about that
- 1:28Speaker 4: number one by a lot.
- 1:30Speaker 3: They're number one by 40 yards, 40 per game. All right.
- 1:36Speaker 4: So they are 510 yards.
- 1:38Speaker 3: They are number one. Alabama is 411.9.
- 1:41Speaker 4: That is eighth right now in the SEC. All right,
- 1:50Speaker 4: let's go to passing yards. And again, this is on offense.
- 1:54Speaker 4: LSU number one in passing yards, and they're number one
- 1:56Speaker 4: by over 30 yards. They have 318 yards per game,
- 2:00Speaker 4: number one. Ole Miss number two at 284. Alabama comes
- 2:06Speaker 4: in at number six at 260 yards passing per game.
- 2:10Speaker 4: All right, let's go to rushing LSU. Rushing yards per
- 2:13Speaker 4: game offensively. Fifth in the SEC, 192 yards per game.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Alabama is 11th at 151 yards per game. All right,
- 2:25Speaker 4: let's go to points per game. LSU number two behind Georgia.
- 2:30Speaker 4: Georgia 43, LSU 40. Alabama does come in at number four.
- 2:35Speaker 4: with 38.3. So I say all of that, and we'll
- 2:40Speaker 4: get to the defensive stuff here coming up. I say
- 2:42Speaker 4: all of that to say, you have a lot of
- 2:45Speaker 4: advantages in this game. You're at home, you're playing really well,
- 2:51Speaker 4: your offense is scoring, your defense is holding opponents down.
- 2:56Speaker 4: I would love to see LSU, and this staff has
- 3:01Speaker 4: that feeling to it. It's the first time we get
- 3:03Speaker 4: a chance to see this staff against Alabama. I would
- 3:06Speaker 4: love for them to go out and be the aggressor
- 3:08Speaker 4: against Alabama. What I mean by that is, for a
- 3:11Speaker 4: long time, it didn't feel like that was the role
- 3:13Speaker 4: in this game. And if y'all have a different feeling,
- 3:16Speaker 4: please tell me so. It felt like you were trying
- 3:18Speaker 4: to counterpunch and not throw haymakers. I want LSU to
- 3:22Speaker 4: throw haymakers. I want LSU to realize that they're a
- 3:26Speaker 4: damn good football team that has advantages, and that's just
- 3:30Speaker 4: the offense. We haven't even gotten to the defensive stuff yet.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I am big old mentality going into a big game.
- 3:37Speaker 4: I don't want to speak for Matt, but I think
- 3:39Speaker 4: Matt would agree with me. Way back when, when we
- 3:43Speaker 4: were playing, any big game, I always felt like we
- 3:46Speaker 4: had the advantage. Because we felt like we were going
- 3:49Speaker 4: to be the better team.
- 3:50Speaker 3: It didn't matter who. It didn't matter if it was Tebow.
- 3:53Speaker 4: It didn't matter who was on the other sideline.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Trying to think of some more people. Didn't matter if
- 3:59Speaker 3: it was.
- 4:03Speaker 3: You're another person. That we played against?
- 4:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:07Speaker 3: I don't even remember. Can't get one. Casey Dick. Casey Dick, actually.
- 4:14Speaker 3: Darren McFadden. That's the name I thought he was going
- 4:17Speaker 3: to say. He didn't. Casey Dick, good pull.
- 4:21Speaker 7: I can't stop thinking about envisioning Brian Kelly trying to
- 4:25Speaker 7: throw a punch.
- 4:28Speaker 3: It's making me laugh. Like the front of the fist
- 4:31Speaker 3: with the wrist leading it.
- 4:33Speaker 8: Oh, hell yeah. Free my boy.
- 4:38Speaker 3: I just can't.
- 4:38Speaker 4: I mean, I was like, he's going to say like
- 4:41Speaker 4: Eric Ainge, Andre Woodson, DJ Shockley.
- 4:44Speaker 7: I literally could not. You said when was the last
- 4:47Speaker 7: time we threw a haymaker? Brian Kelly never threw a haymaker. Like,
- 4:51Speaker 7: with the mentality that you're talking about, then I just
- 4:53Speaker 7: kept envisioning, I wonder how Brian Kelly punches. I don't
- 4:57Speaker 7: think it's pretty. I think it's kind of ugly. Maybe
- 5:02Speaker 7: kind of like. that one, both hands at the same time.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Sorry. You're right, dude.
- 5:13Speaker 9: Jake, like it always does feel like in this game
- 5:17Speaker 9: over the years, LSU comes out and they're like, we
- 5:19Speaker 9: want to see what Alabama does and see how we
- 5:21Speaker 9: need to respond to it. Like last time I felt
- 5:23Speaker 9: LSU came out and punched him in the mouth was 2019.
- 5:26Speaker 9: And you had a 20 point lead or whatever it
- 5:28Speaker 9: was going into halftime. Like that's the type of mentality
- 5:31Speaker 9: you need. Cause like, Even when you beat them, Kelly's
- 5:34Speaker 9: first year, it was, oh, Alabama did this? Cool, Jaden,
- 5:37Speaker 9: I need you to go out there and respond. I
- 5:38Speaker 9: need you to go out there and do this. You
- 5:40Speaker 9: never threw the first punch ever.
- 5:45Speaker 4: All right, let's go to the defensive stats. And I
- 5:52Speaker 4: bring all this up to say you should be confident.
- 5:56Speaker 4: And it's not cocky. There should be a confidence, though.
- 6:00Speaker 4: of this team in your stadium. I don't care when
- 6:02Speaker 4: the kickoff time is because let's go to the defensive
- 6:05Speaker 4: side of it, all right? Let's go to yards per
- 6:08Speaker 4: game given up. LSU, number one in the SEC, only
- 6:11Speaker 4: 258 yards. Number two, Oklahoma's 273. So you're number one
- 6:16Speaker 4: and not by a little. Alabama comes in at number seven,
- 6:21Speaker 4: 330 yards given up per game. Let's go to passing defense.
- 6:25Speaker 4: LSU comes in at number three, 172 yards given up
- 6:28Speaker 4: per game. Alabama, Comes in at number nine. They give
- 6:32Speaker 4: up 222 yards per game. We'll go to rushing total.
- 6:37Speaker 4: LSU number one in the conference, only 85 yards per game.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Alabama comes in at fourth with 108 yards per game
- 6:45Speaker 4: on the ground. And then we go to points. LSU
- 6:46Speaker 4: number two, literally point one behind Georgia. Only giving up
- 6:51Speaker 4: 16 points per game. Alabama comes in at number eight,
- 6:55Speaker 4: giving up 21 points per game. there's not one stat
- 7:00Speaker 4: that they've been better than you in.
- 7:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 7:03Speaker 7: You're going to be hard to find any teams that's
- 7:05Speaker 7: consistently going to have better stats than, than LSU. Just because,
- 7:08Speaker 7: I mean, how, how, how rare is it to find
- 7:11Speaker 7: both sides of the ball, like top five in the
- 7:14Speaker 7: country and a lot of stats, let alone the sec. Um,
- 7:17Speaker 7: so you talk about wanting to throw a punch, be the,
- 7:20Speaker 7: be the aggressor. I mean, it's Keelan. Russell's going to
- 7:23Speaker 7: have to put his big boy pants on next weekend. Um,
- 7:28Speaker 7: He's going to be coming into a rowdy environment. It's
- 7:31Speaker 7: not going to be the first time, right? At SEC,
- 7:34Speaker 7: you have lots of rowdy environments, but I would argue
- 7:37Speaker 7: there's none that is as good or better than Death Valley, obviously. Now, 230,
- 7:43Speaker 7: that's going to be up to the crowd. That's going
- 7:45Speaker 7: to be up to the people how rowdy they want
- 7:46Speaker 7: to get that thing at 230, and I would encourage
- 7:49Speaker 7: everybody to be as rowdy as you can.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Drink a beer.
- 7:55Speaker 7: But he's going to have to put his big boy
- 7:57Speaker 7: pants on because... It is going to take the biggest
- 8:00Speaker 7: effort that he's given this entire season if they want
- 8:03Speaker 7: to have an opportunity to win it in the fourth quarter.
- 8:07Speaker 7: I have to believe what I've seen consistently from LSU's
- 8:10Speaker 7: offense that they are going to score points. They are
- 8:16Speaker 7: going to have some sort of success. I know we
- 8:18Speaker 7: heard Lane Kiffin talk to the media yesterday, I believe,
- 8:21Speaker 7: about how good the Alabama– this is the best talent-wise
- 8:25Speaker 7: defense– that LSU will go against or has gone against
- 8:28Speaker 7: at least so far this season. But I still have
- 8:31Speaker 7: to believe in the body of work that I've seen
- 8:33Speaker 7: from LSU's offense and believe that they are going to
- 8:36Speaker 7: be efficient. They're going to make some plays. Sam is
- 8:39Speaker 7: improving the way he's improving with Trey Dez back. You
- 8:43Speaker 7: have to think that they are going to have success. Now,
- 8:45Speaker 7: it might not be success every single drive. You are
- 8:48Speaker 7: going to be going against a good defense. But I
- 8:52Speaker 7: have to believe that. they're not just going to go
- 8:54Speaker 7: and have a bad game against Alabama, right? Now, so
- 8:58Speaker 7: to me, the whole game relies on LSU's defense versus Keelan.
- 9:06Speaker 3: That's the game for me. That is what I'm watching.
- 9:09Speaker 7: And then when LSU plays Tennessee, it's going to be
- 9:13Speaker 7: the same thing versus Tennessee quarterback. When we play Texas,
- 9:16Speaker 7: it's going to be the same thing versus Arch. Like
- 9:18Speaker 7: that's every single week. How does the other quarterback handle
- 9:23Speaker 7: what LSU's defense, Blake Baker's presenting to them, showing them pre-snap,
- 9:30Speaker 7: and then how are they reacting to what they're actually
- 9:34Speaker 7: getting post-snap. So that is going to be how, that's
- 9:39Speaker 7: going to be how LSU, that's going to be the
- 9:41Speaker 7: main thing that I watch every week. Because I'm believing
- 9:43Speaker 7: in the offense. I think Sam Levis playing at a
- 9:46Speaker 7: high level. I think he's improving every week. I think
- 9:48Speaker 7: the offensive line's improving every week. I think we have
- 9:51Speaker 7: an extremely trustworthy running back in all phases of the game.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Our receivers are coming along. Jackson Harris is doing his thing.
- 9:57Speaker 3: Trey does. We know what he is. I just believe.
- 10:00Speaker 3: in that side. That they're going to score.
- 10:02Speaker 7: 20 to 30 points every single game.
- 10:07Speaker 3: In the 20s, in the 30s.
- 10:08Speaker 7: Let me make that a little bit more clear. So
- 10:11Speaker 7: how is the other quarterback going to play? Blake Baker
- 10:15Speaker 7: likes to punch. He likes to be the aggressor. He
- 10:18Speaker 7: likes to bring it from different directions. He likes to blitz.
- 10:21Speaker 7: He likes to not blitz, but he likes to show
- 10:23Speaker 7: a blitz. You never really know what's coming. What does
- 10:27Speaker 7: that do, though? It does leave yourself a little bit
- 10:30Speaker 7: vulnerable at certain areas of the field. They understand these
- 10:33Speaker 7: weaknesses on defense, and they know how to try to
- 10:36Speaker 7: make up for them. They know how to disguise those weaknesses.
- 10:39Speaker 7: How good is a college quarterback at deciphering all that
- 10:42Speaker 7: information quickly? and fast, and a loud environment, and reacting
- 10:47Speaker 7: to it, and still able to make the play and
- 10:49Speaker 7: the throw. We've run into two quarterbacks that were able.
- 10:52Speaker 3: To do that. Yeah.
- 10:52Speaker 6: Okay?
- 10:55Speaker 7: And it took a great effort by those guys, and
- 10:58Speaker 7: we still had a chance to win. Can Keon Russell
- 11:01Speaker 7: give you the same effort? And I'm not saying athletically.
- 11:04Speaker 7: I'm saying mentally. Can quarterbacks playing LSU mentally play a
- 11:12Speaker 7: great game? That's the only way LSU loses this year,
- 11:17Speaker 7: in my opinion, is if they face a quarterback who
- 11:19Speaker 7: mentally plays a great game.
- 11:25Speaker 4: I think you're spot on with that. I think it
- 11:27Speaker 4: comes down to their quarterback against your defense. And we
- 11:32Speaker 4: just saw LSU go on the road against a quarterback
- 11:35Speaker 4: in Brown that had just gone on the road and
- 11:37Speaker 4: beaten the number one team in the country and rushed
- 11:39Speaker 4: for over 100 yards, all those things, and you gave
- 11:41Speaker 4: him one run.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Mm-hmm.
- 11:43Speaker 4: So this defense is up for the challenge. Now, you're
- 11:48Speaker 4: going to have more time to prepare.
- 11:52Speaker 3: We know that. Get the bye week.
- 11:53Speaker 4: It's always what it is before this game. But that
- 11:56Speaker 4: does feel like the matchup because I think LSU offensively
- 11:58Speaker 4: will have success.
- 12:00Speaker 7: Quarterbacks can have success against Blake Baker just like they
- 12:02Speaker 7: can have success against Brian Flores and the Vikings because
- 12:05Speaker 7: they pressure so much.
- 12:06Speaker 3: You can have success, but you've got to be really
- 12:08Speaker 3: damn good.
- 12:10Speaker 7: And you have to play a really– You got to
- 12:12Speaker 7: be good.
- 12:13Speaker 3: And that day, you got to be on it. You
- 12:15Speaker 3: got to get a little lucky.
- 12:16Speaker 7: Here and there that you're reading something or predicting something pre-snap.
- 12:19Speaker 3: And it can happen. Like, you can run into a buzzsaw.
- 12:21Speaker 7: But the cool thing about it is the games that
- 12:25Speaker 7: we've run into an incredible effort by an opposing quarterback,
- 12:28Speaker 7: we've still had opportunities to win the game because the
- 12:30Speaker 7: offense is still doing its thing.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Right.
- 12:32Speaker 3: Right?
- 12:32Speaker 7: And, like, they're going to beat it. Like, even if
- 12:34Speaker 7: we got beat on defense, it's not like we're going to, like,
- 12:37Speaker 7: score a ton of points, right? So it's– LSU's just
- 12:43Speaker 7: going to be– the way the offense is improving, especially
- 12:46Speaker 7: potentially in the future getting Rhett Reeks back, it's just
- 12:53Speaker 7: going to be a tough– they're not unbeatable, obviously, but.
- 12:56Speaker 3: They're a tough beat. They're going to be a hard beat.
- 13:02Speaker 4: I'm just going to keep going back to mentality over
- 13:05Speaker 4: and over and over again. I'm just going to because
- 13:07Speaker 4: I think in every matchup I think it's important but
- 13:10Speaker 4: even more so in this one. I just really think
- 13:13Speaker 4: so because of all the buildup for this game always,
- 13:17Speaker 4: and this game being the time of the kickoffs change,
- 13:20Speaker 4: it doesn't change the intensity of it.
- 13:22Speaker 3: It should not.
- 13:23Speaker 4: And so for me, it's do you want to, for
- 13:26Speaker 4: the first time in a long time, right, since 2019,
- 13:28Speaker 4: do you want to be the team that says we'll
- 13:32Speaker 4: be the aggressor, we'll dictate the pace, and you've got
- 13:36Speaker 4: to play catch up. You have to adjust to what
- 13:38Speaker 4: we're doing and not the other way around.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. And it's been a while since you've done it.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Even though you had one win since then, and that win,
- 13:44Speaker 4: to Taylor's point, it felt like you countered them, countered them,
- 13:48Speaker 4: countered them, and then you went for two for the win,
- 13:49Speaker 4: and you got it.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:52Speaker 7: And we've kind of been talking about that sentiment the
- 13:54Speaker 7: last couple of weeks, Jake. It's like we keep talking about, man,
- 13:57Speaker 7: how do you prepare for Texas A & M' s attack?
- 14:01Speaker 7: How do you prepare for Brian Brown over at Auburn,
- 14:03Speaker 7: what he's doing? How do you prepare for this guy
- 14:06Speaker 7: and this team? Man, they're doing all these great things.
- 14:09Speaker 7: I look at it like, You just read the stats
- 14:12Speaker 7: earlier this segment. How does the other team prepare fully
- 14:18Speaker 7: on all three phases? How does teams prepare for LSU?
- 14:22Speaker 7: That is what the question is because LSU is really
- 14:26Speaker 7: damn good in a lot of aspects of football. Now,
- 14:28Speaker 7: it's not perfect, and it's improving, and it needs to improve,
- 14:31Speaker 7: and that's what you would expect first year coaching staff.
- 14:36Speaker 7: All these new people, all these new parts, you'd expect
- 14:38Speaker 7: that there is things to work on. And we get it.
- 14:40Speaker 7: And we don't want to just overlook all that. There's
- 14:42Speaker 7: a lot of good. Still thinking about Brian Kelly punching.
- 14:51Speaker 3: And on that note, we'll take a break. More OTB.

- 18:15Speaker 4: it was a pretty good one, so I wanted to
- 18:17Speaker 4: ask here when we came back. It was asking us
- 18:21Speaker 4: of the games that we played during the day, maybe
- 18:23Speaker 4: started during the day, which was the most memorable of
- 18:27Speaker 4: the ones we played in?
- 18:28Speaker 3: I mean, I know my answer.
- 18:35Speaker 7: So later in the season so after after this no
- 18:40Speaker 7: yeah next week so this is Daylight Savings ends this
- 18:44Speaker 7: weekend on Halloween night clocks roll back an hour y'all
- 18:47Speaker 7: know that no Saturday night.
- 18:49Speaker 5: Love it though that feels like the fact that it's
- 18:53Speaker 5: happening on Halloween right it feels kind of spooky a
- 18:56Speaker 5: little spooky yeah I know y'all be careful don't read
- 18:59Speaker 5: that script now y'all be in that house.
- 19:00Speaker 9: Does that mean kids get to stay out later yeah.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Can you gain an hour? An hour, absolutely. That's up
- 19:07Speaker 3: to you. That's per parent right there, bud.
- 19:11Speaker 7: This one's easy for me, but the back half of
- 19:14Speaker 7: the season, after Daylight Savings ends, usually the 2.30 game
- 19:18Speaker 7: ends at night.
- 19:19Speaker 3: So it starts.
- 19:21Speaker 7: During the day, but it gets dark in the second half,
- 19:23Speaker 7: and I always thought that's fun. I remember bad stuff
- 19:28Speaker 7: more than I do good stuff. Good stuff, I expected
- 19:31Speaker 7: it to happen. I expected wins to happen. The Arkansas game.
- 19:37Speaker 7: Senior night. The triple overtime loss. I remember lots of
- 19:42Speaker 7: very distinct things. Now, it ended at night because it
- 19:46Speaker 7: was you know end of the season uh but yeah
- 19:48Speaker 7: it was a 230 game started in the day i
- 19:51Speaker 7: remember a lot about that game and it's kind of
- 19:54Speaker 7: like in high school like i remember the playoff game
- 19:56Speaker 7: we lost i don't remember the ones we won right
- 20:01Speaker 7: i think a lot of competitors athletes are like that
- 20:04Speaker 7: though they don't really remember the good they remember the
- 20:06Speaker 7: The missed shots, the missed opportunities, the losses, a lot more.
- 20:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a good one. Because you think about them
- 20:12Speaker 3: a lot more. I think some of the day games
- 20:17Speaker 3: at Auburn, both those were day games. Yeah. In 04
- 20:22Speaker 3: and 06. Florida in 06 was a day game, too.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Remember Great Holds? Yeah, Florida in 06 was a day game.
- 20:28Speaker 3: You know what?
- 20:28Speaker 4: It is wild, like, just sometimes how– maybe not the
- 20:32Speaker 4: biggest game, maybe didn't mean the most, but it kind
- 20:34Speaker 4: of stands out to you.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I would say 2005 Florida for me.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Now, we had beaten Florida in 04, but they had
- 20:40Speaker 4: just gotten Urban Meyer. They were the talk of the town.
- 20:45Speaker 4: And they were playing at a high level. And I
- 20:47Speaker 4: just remember playing them here. And I don't even remember
- 20:50Speaker 4: what the score was. It doesn't really matter. But I
- 20:52Speaker 4: just remember dominating them. Like, in everything we did, like,
- 20:56Speaker 4: we were the more physical team. And to me, like,
- 20:59Speaker 4: that stood out as, man, hey, It's pretty cool. Like,
- 21:02Speaker 4: we just played against the Florida Gators, and we leaned
- 21:04Speaker 4: on them, and there was nothing they could really do
- 21:05Speaker 4: about it. Like, that was a very cool feeling to me.
- 21:08Speaker 4: And I just remember 2005, it was at home, day game.
- 21:11Speaker 7: I don't even remember, like, I couldn't tell you the
- 21:14Speaker 7: box score. First year at LSU for me in 03, LSU, Georgia.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Oh, I bet that had to be.
- 21:21Speaker 7: Matt Mock to Skylar Green. Yeah, that was like, I'd
- 21:25Speaker 7: heard Tiger Stadium. It was my first year. I mean,
- 21:27Speaker 7: I went to one game. before I enrolled at LSU
- 21:31Speaker 7: on my recruiting trip. I went to LSU versus the
- 21:34Speaker 7: Citadel in 2002.
- 21:35Speaker 4: Mine was Louisiana Tech.
- 21:40Speaker 3: I had never.
- 21:41Speaker 7: The only SEC game I'd been to was like Bama,
- 21:45Speaker 7: Bryant-Denny versus Tennessee, like on a recruiting trip. That's my
- 21:49Speaker 7: real only experience in SEC football.
- 21:52Speaker 3: Yeah. And then all of a sudden, Matt Mock's hitting
- 21:54Speaker 3: Skylar Green against Georgia. Yeah. And it's like, whoa, where?
- 21:59Speaker 3: what planet is this? I was like, this is awesome.
- 22:04Speaker 3: This is incredible.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Oh, I bet that was, uh, it was 21, 17
- 22:08Speaker 4: and Oh five. So like I said, like it wasn't
- 22:10Speaker 4: the score, but I just remember in Joe and I,
- 22:12Speaker 4: this is what I remember.
- 22:13Speaker 3: Cause a lot of fullback action in this game.
- 22:15Speaker 4: Uh, he had 32 carries for 156 yards and a touchdown. 32,
- 22:22Speaker 4: 32 carries that had like, that just didn't happen back
- 22:26Speaker 4: then at LSU because it was always like, Five backs.
- 22:30Speaker 3: So that didn't happen a lot then. That was old.
- 22:33Speaker 4: That's when old Leslie Miles was in his bag.
- 22:35Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, baby.
- 22:36Speaker 4: I mean, Jamarcus threw for 236. So he still had
- 22:40Speaker 4: a big day, too.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Probably a lot of that Joseph Adat.
- 22:44Speaker 4: Three for 37. Three for 82 for Dwayne Bowe. Two
- 22:48Speaker 4: for 52 for Benny Brazil. I remember the touchdown down
- 22:52Speaker 4: the left side, 43-yarder.
- 22:52Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 22:54Speaker 3: Shout out to Vinny Brazil, our guy. Keith Zinger. One catch,
- 22:57Speaker 3: 11 yards. There's Mike. Let's go, Keith. I don't know
- 23:03Speaker 3: why that one stands out to me. I liked... Defense.
- 23:06Speaker 4: Played their butts off that day. Chris Leak, 11 of
- 23:08Speaker 4: 30 for 107 yards. Boy, Chris Leak could spin it.
- 23:12Speaker 3: He could. RPMs was outrageously high.
- 23:16Speaker 9: For y'all, 07, LSU, South Carolina here was during the day.
- 23:21Speaker 9: That one just stands out because of y'all's fake field goal.
- 23:23Speaker 3: Yeah. When Cole David scored. That was such a painful
- 23:26Speaker 3: game for me.
- 23:26Speaker 8: I think they were ranked, like, in the top 15, though,
- 23:28Speaker 8: at the time. South Carolina was.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Like, they had a good team. Corey Boyd was on
- 23:32Speaker 3: that team.
- 23:32Speaker 8: He was a good back.
- 23:34Speaker 4: That's who Aqib Talib got in a fight with at
- 23:36Speaker 4: the rookie symposium.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Was it?
- 23:38Speaker 10: Oh, yeah.
- 23:38Speaker 3: Right in front of our face. They were on the
- 23:39Speaker 3: same team. Yeah. Yeah. We were in that little circle.
- 23:41Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:42Speaker 3: There was, like, four teams in a little trust circle.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Packers, Bucs, Chargers, and somebody else. But, yeah, they were
- 23:48Speaker 4: on the Bucs, and they got in a fight.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Yeah, they just got in a fight right there.
- 23:50Speaker 4: Antonio Freeman is giving us a speech about how to
- 23:54Speaker 4: handle yourself in the NFL, and they started fighting.
- 23:56Speaker 3: Same team. Hey, the commissioner's like two doors down. Aqib
- 24:01Speaker 3: was like, he was always nice to me. Me too.
- 24:04Speaker 7: He's also one of those guys that was like, a
- 24:07Speaker 7: lot of people say things on the field. Man, I'll
- 24:10Speaker 7: do this to you, I'll do that to you, whatever.
- 24:12Speaker 3: You kind of got to believe it with some of them.
- 24:17Speaker 3: He's one of them. Yeah, he's one of them. It
- 24:18Speaker 3: was real.
- 24:21Speaker 4: Tay-Tay, I know you've got a day game, and I
- 24:23Speaker 4: know Alondra's got a day game. I think I know
- 24:24Speaker 4: Alondra's day game.
- 24:25Speaker 8: I think I talked about it the other day.
- 24:27Speaker 3: 2018, Georgia?
- 24:28Speaker 4: Georgia.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Yeah. I want to see the box score of that puppy.
- 24:31Speaker 7: Yeah, that South Carolina game, Taylor, that was a– that
- 24:34Speaker 7: was a– that was coming off my high ankle. Spraying
- 24:38Speaker 7: two weeks before that Virginia Tech.
- 24:40Speaker 9: It was a sloppy game because they needed four that morning.
- 24:44Speaker 7: That was like the worst case scenario for me. It
- 24:46Speaker 7: was my first game back after spraying the ankles. I
- 24:48Speaker 7: missed Middle Tennessee the week before. And I was like,
- 24:51Speaker 7: it rained. And I was like, oh, God, it's going
- 24:53Speaker 7: to be a squishy field, which is the worst thing
- 24:55Speaker 7: for the ankle.
- 24:56Speaker 4: All right, let's see.
- 25:00Speaker 2: LSU 28-16.
- 25:00Speaker 8: Good game that day.
- 25:01Speaker 9: I think that game actually got delayed waiting for the
- 25:05Speaker 9: weather to pass.
- 25:06Speaker 8: I'm pretty sure.
- 25:08Speaker 9: Because I was at that game, and I think we
- 25:09Speaker 9: had to go into the concourse for a little bit
- 25:11Speaker 9: and then come back out.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Do you want the box score? It wasn't good. I
- 25:14Speaker 3: know that. If I watched the film on that one,
- 25:16Speaker 3: I'd be like, ooh.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Matt Flynn, 8 of 19.
- 25:20Speaker 3: See, back then, though. 70 yards. Hell, yeah. One touchdown,
- 25:25Speaker 3: one interception. That was a good touchdown.
- 25:28Speaker 4: I had 17 for 88 in a touchdown. Apparently, it
- 25:33Speaker 4: was 0 for 1. That was a sloppy game. Dick
- 25:36Speaker 4: Dixon had a good day. You only threw for seven.
- 25:39Speaker 4: He called 40 of them.
- 25:41Speaker 5: Oh.
- 25:41Speaker 3: For a touchdown.
- 25:44Speaker 4: You completed passes to Dick Dixon, JoJo LaFell, Quinn Johnson,
- 25:48Speaker 4: and Jared Mitchell that day.
- 25:50Speaker 3: It was an ugly game. Yeah. Poor receivers. Or Doosan
- 25:54Speaker 3: or Bird. Early wasn't playing at that point. Yeah.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Trendon had a good day. Six carries, 73 yards, and
- 26:00Speaker 4: a touchdown. I think we had a trick play, didn't we?
- 26:03Speaker 3: Yeah, we did. We hit him.
- 26:04Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:04Speaker 8: We had a few because of the David field goal, too.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Mm-hmm. It was that elephant play.
- 26:11Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:12Speaker 9: I'll never forget, they showed Spurrier on the big screen
- 26:14Speaker 9: after y'all ran that trick play, and he was laughing.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Yep.
- 26:18Speaker 8: He was like, what do I do?
- 26:19Speaker 3: That's a fun clip. That's a fun clip.
- 26:21Speaker 4: I remember we ran something like a toss outside, and
- 26:23Speaker 4: I don't know if you know this, I didn't run
- 26:25Speaker 4: a lot of tosses to get to the edge, but
- 26:28Speaker 4: did it, got in the alley, and then like the
- 26:30Speaker 4: corners coming back, like trying to make a play after
- 26:33Speaker 4: the receiver blocked, and I tried to cut, and I
- 26:35Speaker 4: cut off my inside foot.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Douglas Frazier.
- 26:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Yeah, it was slippery. You only got tosses so we
- 26:42Speaker 3: could get the ball in your hand faster so you
- 26:44Speaker 3: could put two hands over it before you ran into
- 26:46Speaker 3: a brick wall in the A-gap. That's right. That's right.
- 26:49Speaker 4: We ran the option that year against Tennessee in the
- 26:52Speaker 4: SEC championship game to me.
- 26:54Speaker 3: And I remember, like, Paralu checked to it, and I'm like, Ryan.
- 26:58Speaker 5: Me? Me.
- 26:58Speaker 3: You want to run quick eight? No, it worked perfect.
- 27:01Speaker 4: It was like the first set of kind of sealed
- 27:03Speaker 4: the game.
- 27:04Speaker 3: It was like quick eight, right? Yeah. Quick eight and
- 27:06Speaker 3: quick nine. Is that what we called it?
- 27:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:09Speaker 8: Les loved running that to the short side of the field.
- 27:11Speaker 3: And I never... Keelan.
- 27:16Speaker 3: Keelan Williams. He did it. Virginia Tech. On the right side.
- 27:21Speaker 7: Short side of the field. And I pitched it like
- 27:24Speaker 7: a yard and a half, maybe.
- 27:26Speaker 3: This might have been the short side. I pitched it
- 27:28Speaker 3: right next to me.
- 27:29Speaker 9: I remember the play. Y'all were going to the left, right, Jake?
- 27:32Speaker 9: Left side of the line of scrimmage?
- 27:34Speaker 7: You're on the option. You got a guy you're optioning, right?
- 27:37Speaker 7: But if he backpedals.
- 27:40Speaker 3: And doesn't, you have to press him. Like, that's the
- 27:42Speaker 3: part of the option.
- 27:43Speaker 7: Like, if he doesn't make a move, you have to
- 27:45Speaker 7: press him to make him decide.
- 27:48Speaker 3: The guy just kind of like, to the short side
- 27:50Speaker 3: of the field, he's just kind of like, go with me.
- 27:51Speaker 3: I was like, all right.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Was there a.
- 27:54Speaker 8: Reason for that?
- 27:54Speaker 9: Because I felt like y'all always ran that to the
- 27:57Speaker 9: short side of the field. And I'm like, Les, there's
- 27:58Speaker 9: so much more room on the other side, bud.
- 28:00Speaker 3: All right, we got a break. We got to go
- 28:03Speaker 3: to Chef Michael Johnson.
- 28:04Speaker 8: Oh, Chef, let's go.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Waiting on us. We'll take a break. Sorry, we got
- 28:07Speaker 3: down memory lane. Tends to happen.
- 28:08Speaker 5: Squirrel.
- 28:09Speaker 4: Little Munchies with Chef Michael Johnson when we come back
- 28:11Speaker 4: here on OTB.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Off the bench.
- 28:25Speaker 2: From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off the
- 28:28Speaker 2: Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 28:43Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in OTB.
- 28:46Speaker 4: Here live from the Razor Cane Studio, and it's time
- 28:48Speaker 4: now for a little munchies with our guy, Chef Michael Johnson.
- 28:52Speaker 2: Get ready to tantalize your taste buds and leave this
- 28:55Speaker 2: segment hungry. This is Munchies with Executive Chef Michael Johnson.
- 28:59Speaker 8: Let's eat.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Chef, what's going on, brother? How we doing?
- 29:02Speaker 6: How we living?
- 29:04Speaker 3: I'm living well, buddy.
- 29:07Speaker 4: Uh, I know you and I know it's a bi-week.
- 29:09Speaker 3: I know you're, you're, you're off hunting, fishing.
- 29:13Speaker 4: You're doing something outdoors right now.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:15Speaker 11: So, um, I'm going gator hunt tomorrow and I, uh,
- 29:19Speaker 11: I just got back from, uh, Morgan city. I went
- 29:22Speaker 11: up to look at this hydro, hydroponic grow that we
- 29:24Speaker 11: buy our lettuce from the very impressive place. And, uh,
- 29:29Speaker 11: So two of the Tigers, after we came back from
- 29:32Speaker 11: Auburn last weekend, they went out hunting gators themselves, and
- 29:37Speaker 11: they drug a couple of gators in here for me.
- 29:38Speaker 3: Huh.
- 29:40Speaker 11: I've got to give a shout-out to Mr. Ben Bordelon
- 29:42Speaker 11: for fixing our smoker. It is in prime condition, so
- 29:47Speaker 11: we have it fired up. I'm about to put a 300-pound,
- 29:50Speaker 11: 10-foot gator on it.
- 29:51Speaker 10: Nice.
- 29:51Speaker 3: I love that. Heck, yeah.
- 29:54Speaker 7: Hey, you said the hydroponic, like is that where they
- 29:57Speaker 7: grow the vegetables or the lettuce, whatever, like vertically, like
- 30:00Speaker 7: on those columns?
- 30:02Speaker 11: Well, this is actually horizontally, but it's floating in water.
- 30:05Speaker 11: So the nutrients, the roots get its nutrients from the
- 30:09Speaker 11: water below. Most hydroponic grows use moving water, and it
- 30:15Speaker 11: will cycle through and pick up a nutrient drip at
- 30:19Speaker 11: something that measures how much nutrients in the water. But
- 30:21Speaker 11: this one actually uses water bubblers to create convection in
- 30:26Speaker 11: the water, so it moves the water. Otherwise, the water
- 30:29Speaker 11: gets stagnant. But, yeah, you add nutrient to the water,
- 30:32Speaker 11: and the roots grow down into the water, and the
- 30:35Speaker 11: plants are on floating rafts. And once you harvest, you
- 30:39Speaker 11: pull those rafts out and slide everything down, and then
- 30:42Speaker 11: you put the new growth, the new propagated roots, you know,
- 30:47Speaker 11: seedlings or whatever down at the other end. And they
- 30:50Speaker 11: have four months or four weeks, I think, four weeks
- 30:53Speaker 11: worth of growth.
- 30:55Speaker 3: It's a complicated way to make a salad.
- 30:58Speaker 11: Yeah, well, it's the prettiest lettuce you've ever seen. And
- 31:01Speaker 11: truth be known, when, you know, when all the lettuce
- 31:05Speaker 11: was coming in and making everybody sick, you know, LSU
- 31:09Speaker 11: called me and asked me what I was doing about it.
- 31:10Speaker 11: And I said, we're not doing anything about it. We
- 31:12Speaker 11: don't buy our lettuce from there. We buy our lettuce
- 31:15Speaker 11: from a hydroponic grow in northern Louisiana.
- 31:17Speaker 3: We're doing great.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 31:19Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 31:20Speaker 4: Hashtag munchies. Went out of town last Friday morning. Came
- 31:24Speaker 4: back Monday night. At some point, my deep freezer tripped
- 31:28Speaker 4: the breaker and turned off. Nothing smells bad. Ice cream melted.
- 31:32Speaker 4: Should I toss all the meat?
- 31:34Speaker 3: Throw it away.
- 31:35Speaker 11: It's not worth it. Been there, done that.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Oh, man.
- 31:40Speaker 11: My deep freeze is hooked to a GFCI, and any
- 31:43Speaker 11: time the lightning strikes, it throws that GFCI. And I've
- 31:46Speaker 11: come home to a freezer full of goods too many
- 31:49Speaker 11: times and risked it once, and it was not worth
- 31:52Speaker 11: the risk. Just throw it out.
- 31:56Speaker 3: Oh, man. That stinks.
- 31:58Speaker 11: It's time to go fishing and stock it up again.
- 32:00Speaker 11: That's what I would say. Get in the woods and
- 32:02Speaker 11: get your deer and, yeah.
- 32:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's unfortunate. I think we've all been there, though.
- 32:05Speaker 7: Just kind of lick your wounds a little bit, take
- 32:08Speaker 7: your losses.
- 32:09Speaker 3: And move forward.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Yep.
- 32:11Speaker 7: Hashtag Munchies here. What horror movie monster would you most like.
- 32:15Speaker 3: To cook for?
- 32:16Speaker 11: Horror movie monster?
- 32:17Speaker 3: Yep.
- 32:18Speaker 11: Man, you know, I hate horror movies, so that's kind
- 32:20Speaker 11: of a tough one for me. I grew up on
- 32:24Speaker 11: Freddy and Nightmare on Elm Street, and he has my respect.
- 32:28Speaker 3: Okay. Full-blown respect.
- 32:32Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 32:32Speaker 11: I also remember a werewolf movie called Silver Bullet from
- 32:38Speaker 11: the 80s. I was like 10 years old when I
- 32:41Speaker 11: watched that movie, and I ended up up a tree
- 32:43Speaker 11: for half the day because I thought that sucker was
- 32:46Speaker 11: after me some way, shape.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Or form. No doubt. You know they climb trees, Jeff.
- 32:51Speaker 11: You do when you believe that there's werewolves in your garage.
- 32:54Speaker 3: That's very fair. That is very fair.
- 32:58Speaker 11: Yeah, there's a notable piece of respect there, too.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Hashtag munchies.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Hypothetically speaking, is there anything better than a deer stand beer?
- 33:08Speaker 3: Of course, safety first.
- 33:11Speaker 11: Hypothetically speaking, I don't drink beer too often, to be
- 33:15Speaker 11: honest with you. I'm just going to leave that one alone.
- 33:18Speaker 3: There you go.
- 33:19Speaker 11: It does, you know, like we'll call it a scouting beer.
- 33:22Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 33:22Speaker 11: You know, like when you go scouting. Yeah.
- 33:25Speaker 3: Okay.
- 33:26Speaker 7: This one, somebody looks like they either went to Paris
- 33:28Speaker 7: for the game or they've been to Paris recently. Hashtag munchies.
- 33:32Speaker 7: As a trained chef in Louisiana, what is your honest
- 33:35Speaker 7: opinion of French cuisine? Because his experience of local food
- 33:40Speaker 7: in Paris.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Was not it.
- 33:41Speaker 11: Yeah. Traditional French cooking is absolutely the cornerstone of how
- 33:47Speaker 11: I cook. So, You know, traditional French cooking is quite
- 33:52Speaker 11: involved and laborsome, and I do rather enjoy that, but
- 33:55Speaker 11: it's also quite fatty and heavy, and I think that
- 33:58Speaker 11: there's ways to manipulate the food that can be adapted
- 34:02Speaker 11: for healthier outcomes. So, you know, like, I don't believe
- 34:06Speaker 11: in using all the butter and cream anymore, basically because
- 34:09Speaker 11: I've got up to about 245 pounds doing so, and,
- 34:13Speaker 11: you know, like, I believe in healthier food, so... You know,
- 34:17Speaker 11: the cuisine is very rich, you know, but they also
- 34:21Speaker 11: mastered the techniques, and the techniques are really where I
- 34:25Speaker 11: get my, give my respect versus the, you know, ingredients.
- 34:32Speaker 7: Hey, like, just give us, like, a brief, like, when
- 34:34Speaker 7: you talk about techniques, are you talking about how you
- 34:37Speaker 7: heat it, how you slice it, how you, like, what's the,
- 34:40Speaker 7: what technique specifically do you kind of, like, hone all,
- 34:44Speaker 7: you have, you hone your skills with?
- 34:46Speaker 11: So the French organized the kitchen and created the brigade
- 34:50Speaker 11: as well. And that's a matterful piece. You know, there's
- 34:52Speaker 11: got to be a chef in charge. There's people that
- 34:54Speaker 11: report to him or her and underlings below that who,
- 34:59Speaker 11: you know, it's kind of a militaristic brigade. But beyond that,
- 35:02Speaker 11: they also organized the cooking techniques. And I'll use the
- 35:05Speaker 11: braise as an example. Braise is probably one of the
- 35:09Speaker 11: more complicated techniques. and making sure that you're browning the meat,
- 35:13Speaker 11: turning it on all sides and getting all sides covered,
- 35:16Speaker 11: not crowding the pan and giving the meat space in
- 35:19Speaker 11: between so that it's not steaming. You know, there's some
- 35:22Speaker 11: really specific guidelines that you follow when you do a braise,
- 35:28Speaker 11: not to flood the meat and not to put too
- 35:31Speaker 11: little liquid in there. So, you know, a braise is
- 35:35Speaker 11: a perfectly good example of a French technique that's been
- 35:38Speaker 11: passed down through generations and um, is a proven technique. Um, and,
- 35:44Speaker 11: and they've put labels on like grilling was labeled by
- 35:47Speaker 11: the French and, and they have a, uh, uh, I
- 35:52Speaker 11: forget the name of the station chef is like a
- 35:54Speaker 11: Giardin or something like that. But each chef at each station, however,
- 35:58Speaker 11: you're preparing the food at that point is the chef
- 36:01Speaker 11: in charge of that station. So you have chef, the party,
- 36:04Speaker 11: which is in charge of the room. You have the chef,
- 36:06Speaker 11: the cuisine you have, you know, so, um, each one
- 36:09Speaker 11: of those titles, um, The sautere is the guy in
- 36:13Speaker 11: charge of the sauté station. So sautéing is another one.
- 36:16Speaker 11: It means to jump, and the French are the ones
- 36:19Speaker 11: that gave us that technique, and they are the ones
- 36:20Speaker 11: who mastered it and passed it on down. So I
- 36:23Speaker 11: do believe in the techniques for sure.
- 36:26Speaker 3: Chef, before we.
- 36:26Speaker 4: Let you go, plans for the weekend, since you don't
- 36:30Speaker 4: have to go to a football game, worry about a
- 36:32Speaker 4: football game, or even watch a football game.
- 36:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 36:36Speaker 11: So I am going gator hunting tomorrow with my buddy J.R.,
- 36:40Speaker 11: And then I have to be back in time for
- 36:44Speaker 11: a Halloween party. My wife is going to be fussy
- 36:47Speaker 11: with me.
- 36:47Speaker 3: There you go.
- 36:49Speaker 11: I have promised her I will not fall out of
- 36:51Speaker 11: the boat or get eaten or get shot. So that's
- 36:54Speaker 11: what I have to manage tomorrow. And then Halloween party
- 36:57Speaker 11: on Saturday. And I suspect a couple of naps on Sunday.
- 37:04Speaker 4: Tell JR that Evangel's better than Wes Monroe.
- 37:08Speaker 3: Yeah. When you see him as well. Please tell JR that.
- 37:12Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you. I appreciate that. Chef, we appreciate you.
- 37:14Speaker 3: We love you, brother. Stay safe out there. We'll talk
- 37:16Speaker 3: to you next week. Chicken on the hook.
- 37:17Speaker 11: Take care, guys.
- 37:22Speaker 3: What? That was fun. Chicken on the hook? Mm-hmm. For Gator?
- 37:26Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 37:28Speaker 3: That one he sent us looked pretty good. I've never
- 37:33Speaker 3: been Gator, honey. I know. I've been wanting to go.
- 37:37Speaker 3: Shoot him. Shoot him.
- 37:39Speaker 9: My dad wants to shoot. I'm like, I'll just wrestle
- 37:40Speaker 9: with the hook. You can do the shooting. That seems
- 37:43Speaker 9: like the fun part.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Just seeing one. It'd be fun.
- 37:50Speaker 6: All right.
- 37:50Speaker 4: We'll take our last break of the show. But before
- 37:53Speaker 4: we do, I want to remind you about our friends
- 37:55Speaker 4: over at Pala. For more than 53 years, Pala has

- 39:04Speaker 1: I need to be myself.
- 39:05Speaker 6: I can't be no one else. I'm feeling supersonic.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Give me gin and cider. You can have it.
- 39:20Speaker 6: All, but how much do you want it?
- 39:27Speaker 1: Make me laugh.
- 39:28Speaker 7: Give me your autograph.
- 39:29Speaker 2: 2007 champs, purple and gold to the core. This is
- 39:48Speaker 2: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, Baton Rouge's go-to

- 40:01Speaker 4: OTB here live from the Raising Cane Studio. A little
- 40:04Speaker 4: time for Ask the Bench brought to you by Dos Equis.
- 40:06Speaker 4: It is always a great time to go for dos.
- 40:12Speaker 4: Hashtag Ask the Bench. Hester, any luck on finding that
- 40:15Speaker 4: one-of-one card?
- 40:17Speaker 3: No, no luck. No luck on finding the one-of-one or
- 40:19Speaker 3: the up-ten card.
- 40:23Speaker 7: That one guy did respond. He's got the Glenn Dorsey
- 40:26Speaker 7: 2008 101 Top Scrum.
- 40:28Speaker 3: I know. I don't see those a lot. I know.
- 40:31Speaker 3: Those are fancy. I know. I would like that one
- 40:34Speaker 3: very much. God, I want that 101, man. I just
- 40:37Speaker 3: want that one. Literally. I'll trade, like, whatever. No, none
- 40:42Speaker 3: of mine. I'll trade whatever.
- 40:45Speaker 7: The 2008 Top Scrum 101 is hard to find if
- 40:48Speaker 7: it's not out there in the open.
- 40:50Speaker 4: Yeah, I know.
- 40:50Speaker 7: Because it's probably... Got spaghetti on it in a landfill somewhere.
- 40:56Speaker 7: Not because anyone knew it, but how many people opened
- 40:59Speaker 7: packs of cars? I had no idea there was numbered
- 41:01Speaker 7: things in there. Hell, I didn't know until two years ago.
- 41:04Speaker 3: True. That's fair. I didn't either. But if you have it,
- 41:10Speaker 3: or the one of ten. I was like, a numbered?
- 41:12Speaker 3: Or of ten.
- 41:13Speaker 4: I have every other one but those. Hashtag Ask the Bench.
- 41:18Speaker 4: Do you guys think Les Miles shows up for the
- 41:20Speaker 4: 20-year reunion of the 07 Natty, or does he even
- 41:23Speaker 4: get an invite?
- 41:23Speaker 3: He better. Oh, he'll get an invite.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Sure as hell better get an invite. He's the coach
- 41:27Speaker 4: of the team. One of the most successful coaches of
- 41:30Speaker 4: any sport in this school's history.
- 41:31Speaker 3: I mean, it's not like a. He'll get the invite.
- 41:34Speaker 4: But, like, Virg would never, ever, ever let that happen
- 41:38Speaker 4: where he didn't get an invite.
- 41:40Speaker 3: Why would, like. Yeah, I don't know. Is there, like, a.
- 41:42Speaker 3: I don't know. Like, cloud over. I mean, I know
- 41:44Speaker 3: things didn't end great, but.
- 41:45Speaker 5: No.
- 41:46Speaker 3: What coaching tenure does. I hope coach is here. I
- 41:50Speaker 3: truly do.
- 41:52Speaker 4: It meant a lot to me in my life. I
- 41:53Speaker 4: named a son after him.
- 41:54Speaker 3: I hope he's here. The 10-year reunion was a hell
- 41:58Speaker 3: of a time. I hope his health is doing well
- 42:00Speaker 3: enough that he can be here. Yes.
- 42:02Speaker 4: 10-year reunion was a great time.
- 42:07Speaker 3: Incredible time. Loved every minute of it. The 20-year reunion. Oh,
- 42:10Speaker 3: my God. 20-year reunion next year. I still feel like
- 42:16Speaker 3: I haven't hit my prime yet.
- 42:17Speaker 4: I don't know how I'll do that if I'm on
- 42:19Speaker 4: the broadcast.
- 42:21Speaker 3: Halftime, I guess. Just run on down.
- 42:23Speaker 8: I guess skip halftime.
- 42:25Speaker 3: Get Hunt to.
- 42:26Speaker 4: Fill in for you or something. Yeah, Gordy could handle
- 42:28Speaker 4: it on the sideline too.
- 42:30Speaker 3: I think they can figure it out. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 42:32Speaker 3: for sure.
- 42:32Speaker 7: And you should be able to have a couple pops too.
- 42:35Speaker 8: Or just stick your head out the window and wave.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Yeah, just lean out the window.
- 42:39Speaker 5: Hey, hey.
- 42:40Speaker 3: I'm here too. I'm here too.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Turn around.
- 42:42Speaker 3: I'm here. Check it out. That's giving presidential. Check it out.
- 42:46Speaker 8: Like leaning out the window.
- 42:47Speaker 3: And I am not presidential. And you know everyone can
- 42:50Speaker 3: still see that hand of yours all over the stadium.
- 42:52Speaker 4: Big old mitt.
- 42:53Speaker 3: That's a great point.
- 42:54Speaker 4: I got no rebuttal to that.
- 42:55Speaker 3: Hashtag ask the bench.
- 42:57Speaker 4: Matt and Jacob, if you had to wear a bougie
- 43:00Speaker 4: Halloween outfit, what would it be?
- 43:02Speaker 1: Bougie.
- 43:03Speaker 4: Like a pimp or something?
- 43:04Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 43:06Speaker 8: Or like an expensive costume.
- 43:08Speaker 10: Yeah. Yeah.
- 43:10Speaker 4: I think I would dress up as Matt Flynn in
- 43:12Speaker 4: his all denim getup because denim's not cheap. I think
- 43:15Speaker 4: that would be a very bougie one because it costs
- 43:17Speaker 4: a lot. He had hat, vest, jacket, shirt, jeans.
- 43:21Speaker 7: I would do like Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers did
- 43:24Speaker 7: in France.
- 43:25Speaker 8: Peaky blinders.
- 43:25Speaker 3: Peaky blinders. Why'd they do that? That was nice.
- 43:30Speaker 8: Peaky Blinders weren't in France, were they?
- 43:33Speaker 3: I mean, they were gypsies, so it was fine. People
- 43:37Speaker 3: are way overthinking that.
- 43:39Speaker 8: When I saw it, I was like, oh, that's cool.
- 43:41Speaker 8: And I was like, wait.
- 43:43Speaker 3: Hashtag Ask the Bench. Where did Taylor learn to glug?
- 43:46Speaker 8: College, obviously.
- 43:47Speaker 3: I was in high school. The old college tribe. Hashtag
- 43:51Speaker 3: Ask the Bench.
- 43:51Speaker 4: Who wants to be my High Rocks partner so we
- 43:53Speaker 4: can beat Flynn and Miss Flynn?
- 43:55Speaker 8: But you're not doing it. You're doing it with someone.
- 43:57Speaker 3: Or are you doing it with Lacey? No, I'm not
- 43:59Speaker 3: doing it with Lacey.
- 44:00Speaker 8: You're doing it with that guy.
- 44:02Speaker 3: With Andrew.
- 44:03Speaker 4: Hashtag ask the bench. What technique would you use to
- 44:06Speaker 4: punch BK? No, we just want to see him.
- 44:11Speaker 7: Try to punch him. We couldn't envision him punch. Him
- 44:14Speaker 7: punching is probably funny.
- 44:15Speaker 8: We could envision him getting punched.
- 44:17Speaker 3: Two hands at the same time.
- 44:19Speaker 6: Two hands?
- 44:21Speaker 3: Old two-hand BK. Hey, wish me luck. I've got to
