NASCAR legend Bobby Labonte finally hit the legendary Thunder Road, chasing his dream of racing those high banks after years of wanting to — and thanks to Dale and D.J. Shaw, he even got some practice laps in. Though rain washed out the original event, fans still turned out in droves to catch a glimpse of the champ signing autographs and soaking in the historic vibe. Labonte, who’s been chasing Thunder Road since Ken Squier and Dave Moody first pitched him, was thrilled to make it happen — even if the track had to wait until Friday to deliver the racing action.
