- 0:18Speaker 1: friend Mark Lupa joins us, Hey, LUPI are You're loopy?
- 0:22Speaker 2: Lou Is here?
- 0:24Speaker 1: Loopy, lou How are you? We haven't count calling up
- 0:27Speaker 1: in a while. What have you been up to? Are
- 0:28Speaker 1: you still seeing that guy?
- 0:30Speaker 2: I've still seen the guy. We're going to Naples, Florida
- 0:34Speaker 2: this weekend from a World Day week you want?
- 0:36Speaker 1: Is this the first trip together?
- 0:38Speaker 2: This is the first trip together. Off we go tonight.
- 0:42Speaker 1: It's a milestone, that's what it could be. Matro break
- 0:46Speaker 1: sharing a hotel room.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Well, yeah, it could be a make or break. I'm
- 0:50Speaker 2: I feel like I'm a good person to travel with.
- 0:52Speaker 2: But I can be moody and.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Cranky, So you can be a little moody. Prickly that's
- 0:58Speaker 1: the word. You could be a little prickly and if
- 1:01Speaker 1: you get tired, all the plates delay or if the
- 1:05Speaker 1: room isn't nice.
- 1:06Speaker 2: He's not ready for this, you know.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I think at some point though, it's best that they
- 1:11Speaker 1: see the complete you. Yes, like it's not the bachelorette
- 1:15Speaker 1: or the bachelor. Here where it's just like champagne and
- 1:19Speaker 1: roses and helicopter rides. All that's lovely. Of course you'd
- 1:22Speaker 1: love me in that circumstance. See me when I can't
- 1:25Speaker 1: get a taxi and I need to get to Good
- 1:27Speaker 1: Day for a live hit. If you if you can
- 1:30Speaker 1: see that and you can still love that, rubshoote, then
- 1:35Speaker 1: this could work. So you've got to see you say
- 1:37Speaker 1: the bad. But I don't even know if it's the bad.
- 1:39Speaker 1: I think it's the complete picture. You're a good package,
- 1:42Speaker 1: but a little prickly good. Look. Okay, let's jump into
- 1:46Speaker 1: the show. What time is it, my friends? It's tea time.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Sad story at the top of the show. Tina Turner,
- 1:52Speaker 1: the legendary queen of rock and we can absolutely say that,
- 1:57Speaker 1: has died at eighty three years all. Her rep confirmed
- 2:01Speaker 1: her passing after a long illness in her home in Switzerland.
- 2:06Speaker 1: She became a Swiss residence, so she gave up her
- 2:09Speaker 1: an American citizenship moved to Switzerland. She first broke out
- 2:14Speaker 1: onto the music scene in the sixties with her husband Ike.
- 2:18Speaker 1: They were the Ike and the Tina Turner. Review noticed
- 2:21Speaker 1: his name came first. It was always about him and
- 2:24Speaker 1: she left him after years of domestic abuse. Ike really
- 2:29Speaker 1: kept tight control over her. He even gave her her name.
- 2:33Speaker 1: She wasn't Tina Turner until Ike came along, and he
- 2:37Speaker 1: didn't consult her. He just told her. One day they
- 2:39Speaker 1: put out a record and it said Tina Turner, and
- 2:42Speaker 1: she said, who's that? He said that you. He controlled
- 2:45Speaker 1: what she sang, what she wore, how she danced, everything
- 2:48Speaker 1: about her life. Things were so bad, and he beat
- 2:51Speaker 1: her so badly that when she finally left, she only
- 2:56Speaker 1: had thirty six cents to her name and a gas
- 3:00Speaker 1: station credit card. We've seen it in that amazing movie
- 3:05Speaker 1: with Angela Bassett, What's Love Got to Do with It?
- 3:08Speaker 1: Where literally she waits for Ike to fall asleep, runs
- 3:11Speaker 1: across a highway, checks into a motel, has no money,
- 3:15Speaker 1: and the person on the front desk, she was bleeding,
- 3:18Speaker 1: she had a black eye, was so kind to give
- 3:22Speaker 1: her a room for no money, just to stay here
- 3:24Speaker 1: and be safe. So a lot of people assumed that
- 3:27Speaker 1: after she left Ike, it was over because it was misogynists,
- 3:31Speaker 1: because Ike, everybody thought, was the one that created her.
- 3:34Speaker 1: He was the brains behind the operation. He was the
- 3:37Speaker 1: smart one that put all this together. Well, she had
- 3:40Speaker 1: the last laugh because without Ike, she proved to everybody
- 3:44Speaker 1: that it was Tina who was driving that train. She
- 3:48Speaker 1: went on to sell over two hundred million albums, twelve
- 3:53Speaker 1: Grammy Awards, three best sellers, and also several different movies.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Or from the girl that was born Anna May Bullock
- 4:04Speaker 1: in rural Tennessee went on to be a superstar. I
- 4:09Speaker 1: loved her. What about you, Mark, Oh my gosh.
- 4:12Speaker 2: I mean, she's one of those people that you just
- 4:15Speaker 2: think will live forever.
- 4:16Speaker 1: You know, the.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Energy, that spunk, the charisma, the stage presence. And so
- 4:21Speaker 2: yesterday when I saw the news, my heart stopped for
- 4:24Speaker 2: a moment and I thought to myself, Wow, what a
- 4:26Speaker 2: life and what an inspiration. And we can all look
- 4:29Speaker 2: on to her now for many more years to come
- 4:32Speaker 2: and feel that you know that inner rock star and
- 4:34Speaker 2: all of us.
- 4:34Speaker 1: Yes, who hasn't shuffled around their kitchen or bedroom pretending
- 4:39Speaker 1: to be Tina Turner shaking everything? I love it. I
- 4:43Speaker 1: do love it, But I do think Mark, she will
- 4:45Speaker 1: live on forever. She isn't ever going to die because
- 4:47Speaker 1: of the body of work that she leaves behind, some
- 4:51Speaker 1: of the greatest rock songs of all time, I think
- 4:54Speaker 1: it's really interesting too, and we should talk about this,
- 4:57Speaker 1: is that she walked away from the spotlight. She didn't
- 5:00Speaker 1: want to do it anymore. So when she retired and
- 5:02Speaker 1: moved to Switzerland, people were really suspicious. We've all seen
- 5:06Speaker 1: those pop stars who are still on stage, you know
- 5:08Speaker 1: who you are, Hello, Hello, who probably shouldn't like they
- 5:11Speaker 1: don't quite have it anymore, but they're in their eighties
- 5:14Speaker 1: and they're still dancing around, and you're like, shares the exception.
- 5:19Speaker 1: She's still marvelous, So I don't have a word said
- 5:22Speaker 1: about her. But Tina said, I just don't want to
- 5:25Speaker 1: do it anymore. She did this really amazing interviewer with
- 5:29Speaker 1: Gail King in twenty and eighteen. She said that she
- 5:33Speaker 1: was glad her time on stage was over. Gail said,
- 5:38Speaker 1: people miss you, though, Tina, and Tina replied with a
- 5:42Speaker 1: little bit of a laugh, that's okay. They can watch
- 5:45Speaker 1: the videos, enjoy those, but unfinished with it. The amount
- 5:51Speaker 1: of energy, the amount of passion it must have taken
- 5:56Speaker 1: to put on a performance like that is something that
- 5:59Speaker 1: gets progg restively harder as you get older. She didn't
- 6:03Speaker 1: want to do it half ass. She didn't want to
- 6:06Speaker 1: not be able to put one hundred percent into her shows,
- 6:10Speaker 1: so she stopped. I really admire that. Knowing when to
- 6:14Speaker 1: sit down, knowing when to retire, and knowing when to
- 6:17Speaker 1: leave the party is something that I struggle with. I'm
- 6:20Speaker 1: frightened I'm going to be one of those lounge singers
- 6:23Speaker 1: in Vegas when I'm ninety, sing give me hits from
- 6:27Speaker 1: the eighties? What about you? Mark? Can you? Can you
- 6:30Speaker 1: move on? You know?
- 6:31Speaker 2: I think we're similar in that we love to work
- 6:34Speaker 2: and we love what we do, and that's hard to stop.
- 6:37Speaker 2: But I will say that Tina has acquired something that
- 6:40Speaker 2: a lot of us aspire to, which is she's found
- 6:43Speaker 2: so much success and happiness that she can walk away
- 6:46Speaker 2: in peace, in a peaceful way and enjoy what she's built.
- 6:49Speaker 2: And she went to living that chateau in Switzer Larne
- 6:51Speaker 2: and live her life and like, that's that's fabulous to me.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Yeah, And finally she found love. For twenty three years
- 6:58Speaker 1: after the horrible relationship with Ike, she married the love
- 7:03Speaker 1: of her life, musician Irwin Bark and they had this
- 7:07Speaker 1: amazing life together in Switzerland. People don't know this, but
- 7:10Speaker 1: she was a Buddhist too, and she really learned through
- 7:14Speaker 1: following Buddha to forgive, to not hold on to the past.
- 7:20Speaker 1: What an amazing life well lived? Which brings us to
- 7:24Speaker 1: our pole question of the day. What is your favorite
- 7:29Speaker 1: Tina Turner song? What is your simply the best? What
- 7:34Speaker 1: is your favorite Proud Mary or I Love? What's love
- 7:40Speaker 1: got to do with it? There's so many of them?
- 7:43Speaker 1: This is gonna be a joyous question today. We don't
- 7:46Speaker 1: normally do questions when somebody has passed because it's not
- 7:49Speaker 1: the moment to ask. But I think this is the
- 7:51Speaker 1: perfect question today because it will make us all think
- 7:54Speaker 1: about that marvelous music that will always have thanks to Tina.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Go vote on at Twitter page at Naughty Nice rab
- 8:03Speaker 1: At facebook page is Naughty Gossip and be sure to
- 8:06Speaker 1: check that. It' to moro to hear your results. Hey Loopy,
- 8:10Speaker 1: what are you working on that?
- 8:12Speaker 2: Let's talk about Prince Harry Megan Markle Police So their
- 8:17Speaker 2: publicists slamming allegations about their card chase being a pr stunt. Okay, So,
- 8:23Speaker 2: A rep for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said
- 8:26Speaker 2: they were involved in a two hour card chase with
- 8:29Speaker 2: the paparazzi. Please they're spokesperson's addressing claims now that the
- 8:33Speaker 2: incident was for pr rob The rep said, quote, respectfully,
- 8:39Speaker 2: considering the Duke's family history, one would have to think
- 8:42Speaker 2: nothing of the couple or anybody associated with them to
- 8:45Speaker 2: believe this was any sort of pr stunt. Now, the
- 8:49Speaker 2: REP was referring to the death, of course, of Harry's mother,
- 8:52Speaker 2: Princess Diana, who was killed in a nineteen ninety seven
- 8:55Speaker 2: car crash, and the REP added, quote, Frankly, I think
- 8:59Speaker 2: that's abhorrent.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Hmm, what do you think. It's a strong statement. But
- 9:03Speaker 1: let's remember it was the REP that initially told us
- 9:07Speaker 1: about the two hour car chase, so it's a different rep.
- 9:10Speaker 1: But these two reps need to get together and talk
- 9:13Speaker 1: about this, and I would argue they should probably stop
- 9:16Speaker 1: talking about it. To put out a statement that they
- 9:19Speaker 1: were in a two hour near catastrophic that's there were
- 9:24Speaker 1: not mine for them to put that out, and it
- 9:27Speaker 1: clearly that was not true. It might have been chaotic,
- 9:30Speaker 1: it might have been very triggering. I'm sure it was.
- 9:32Speaker 1: I have a lot of empathy for Prince Harry, for
- 9:35Speaker 1: Prince William, what happened with their mom that tragedy. I
- 9:39Speaker 1: certainly can understand that. But for them, the REP, to
- 9:42Speaker 1: put out that statement, they caused all this drama and
- 9:46Speaker 1: now it's Harry and Meghan who have to live with
- 9:48Speaker 1: it because now people will doubt what they say. Can
- 9:52Speaker 1: we believe them? This clearly wasn't catastrophic, It clearly wasn't
- 9:56Speaker 1: two hours. So for another rep within the same company
- 10:01Speaker 1: to put out this statement really telling us all off
- 10:05Speaker 1: is for me just not the smartest, wisest move. And
- 10:10Speaker 1: I wouldn't if I was the rep bring up the
- 10:13Speaker 1: words pr stunt. I didn't say that. I don't know
- 10:16Speaker 1: anyone that said that. You said it, and now you've
- 10:19Speaker 1: put it into my mind like the rep is doing
- 10:23Speaker 1: such disservice. Harry Meghan, if you listen and alone, I
- 10:26Speaker 1: don't want to see anybody lose their jobs. I really don't.
- 10:29Speaker 1: But you need better representation. This is just a self
- 10:34Speaker 1: inflicted disaster that you created. After the incident at the
- 10:42Speaker 1: Zigfeld Theater, you could have put out a statement saying
- 10:46Speaker 1: it was very chaotic and it was very upsetting and
- 10:48Speaker 1: we felt like we were being hunted, and that would
- 10:51Speaker 1: have been totally truthful, totally appropriate, and really very devastating.
- 10:55Speaker 1: It would have made us all really think about the
- 10:57Speaker 1: paparazzi and how we cover this couple. To put out
- 11:01Speaker 1: a statement that they were in a near catastrophic car crash,
- 11:06Speaker 1: particularly because of what happened to his mom, that is
- 11:10Speaker 1: just a place they should never ever go unless it's
- 11:14Speaker 1: one hundred percent true. And I think we can all
- 11:17Speaker 1: agree that isn't the case.
- 11:20Speaker 2: I can yes, I could agree with that, Rob, And
- 11:22Speaker 2: I think you know me and you. We live in
- 11:23Speaker 2: New York City. We swear around high profile people. The
- 11:27Speaker 2: paparazzi are there, but they're not They're not that aggressive,
- 11:30Speaker 2: and I would imagine many people have gone through annoyances
- 11:33Speaker 2: like a paparazzi following them in the car or walking
- 11:36Speaker 2: to the store, but they don't release statements about it.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Just move on with moving every time something bad happens,
- 11:43Speaker 1: you don't have to release a statement. I've got the
- 11:45Speaker 1: wrong order at Starbus yesterday. I only release a statement.
- 11:48Speaker 1: And I've seen you be more aggressive at a sample
- 11:50Speaker 1: sale at Bloomingdale's. Talk about aggressive. If you want that
- 11:54Speaker 1: fiery jacket for out of the way, I'm going to Galloway.
- 11:59Speaker 1: New Yorkers are aggressive, and so if you're not from
- 12:02Speaker 1: New York. I can see that being something that is
- 12:05Speaker 1: quite shocking to people, but putting out such an inflammatory statement,
- 12:12Speaker 1: they did not serve you well. I'm really letting Harry
- 12:14Speaker 1: and Meghan off the hook here because I'm blaming their
- 12:17Speaker 1: pr But they work for Harry and Meghan, and I
- 12:20Speaker 1: think Harry and Meghan now have to sit down and say,
- 12:23Speaker 1: we need new representation and we need new security. I
- 12:25Speaker 1: do not know any security guard who would take them
- 12:28Speaker 1: out of a safe car where you know the driver
- 12:32Speaker 1: and put them into a yellow taxi. I just don't
- 12:35Speaker 1: know anybody that would do that, any security guard.
- 12:38Speaker 2: I mean, none of it makes sense. The story is
- 12:40Speaker 2: it's kind of like Jossy Smollette when he was complaining
- 12:44Speaker 2: about being attacked in the polar of Vortex in the
- 12:47Speaker 2: whole city of Chicago's like that didn't happen. When I
- 12:49Speaker 2: read the story, I mean, the mayor of New York
- 12:52Speaker 2: City came out and said, mmmm, maybe.
- 12:54Speaker 1: Basically the police basically called them liars. It's crazy, crazy,
- 12:59Speaker 1: Moving along, Black Blake Shelton has finally said goodbye to
- 13:02Speaker 1: the voice. He's been there since day or not a
- 13:05Speaker 1: dry eye in the house. It was a beautiful sender
- 13:08Speaker 1: for him. He ultimately didn't win this season. I think
- 13:11Speaker 1: a lot of people thought he would win the very
- 13:12Speaker 1: last season. He didn't. But he's got nine wins, so
- 13:15Speaker 1: it's all okay. There he's walking away and he said
- 13:18Speaker 1: he's not coming back. They brought Aback a lot of
- 13:21Speaker 1: the old old hosts, the old celebrities to say goodbye,
- 13:25Speaker 1: including his body Adam Levine, which I really enjoyed. But
- 13:29Speaker 1: I'm not sure they're as close as they make out,
- 13:31Speaker 1: because when they're not on TV, they never hang out.
- 13:34Speaker 1: I don't think Adam even went to his wedding.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I don't think he was invaded.
- 13:38Speaker 1: He was not invited. So I think this fake romance.
- 13:41Speaker 1: I sort of. It doesn't feel quite as legit anymore.
- 13:44Speaker 1: But I think I will miss Blake. I think Reba's
- 13:47Speaker 1: a good choice. Do you watch this show? Who's your
- 13:50Speaker 1: favorite judge?
- 13:51Speaker 2: You know? I was thinking about this rub at one point,
- 13:54Speaker 2: maybe two years ago. We were talking about Blake every
- 13:56Speaker 2: single day, every day, Blake and Gwen and Gwen and Blake.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I don't care anymore about Blake, and I don't think
- 14:03Speaker 2: i'll care about Ribert. I like Rubert, but I'm not gonna.
- 14:06Speaker 2: I'm not watching to see Rebert.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Yeah, it feels to me, I mean the ratings are
- 14:11Speaker 1: still good ish. It feels to me as if it's
- 14:14Speaker 1: sort of coming to an end. It's bubbling under the
- 14:17Speaker 1: surface now and we're not so into it any anymore.
- 14:20Speaker 1: But Blake happy retirement, like maybe you're going to live
- 14:24Speaker 1: in Switzerland and have this amazing life like a team that.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I don't think that's going to happen. I think he's
- 14:28Speaker 1: going to go on tour. It's tricky though, now, because
- 14:30Speaker 1: I think he's more famous for the voice than his music.
- 14:34Speaker 1: So he's got to put out some really good music
- 14:37Speaker 1: if he wants to sell those concert tickets. Unless he
- 14:39Speaker 1: has a red chest spinning around on the stage at
- 14:42Speaker 1: Madison Square Garden, I think he's got to put out
- 14:44Speaker 1: some really, really really good music. He could. He's very talented.
- 14:47Speaker 1: I was once on The Today Show and he was
- 14:50Speaker 1: filling in for Holder. He was like the host of
- 14:52Speaker 1: the hour. He wasn't a guest. He was the host,
- 14:54Speaker 1: so he interviewed me, which was very bizarre. Wow, there's
- 14:57Speaker 1: something sexy about him, Mark. I know I would. I
- 15:00Speaker 1: I'm shot. I'm admitting it because I was like, Oh,
- 15:03Speaker 1: he's sort of like a lug of a guy to me,
- 15:05Speaker 1: but when you meet him, his hands are like shovels,
- 15:08Speaker 1: you know, big. It's sort of like kind of a
- 15:12Speaker 1: teddy bear. There's something about him. Have you met him?
- 15:15Speaker 2: No, but I can. I'm visualizing this, like his eyes
- 15:19Speaker 2: seemed striking and his big, big personality in big ways,
- 15:23Speaker 2: But I don't know. I can see it. I can
- 15:24Speaker 2: see it.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I can see it, but not for you. Okay, let's
- 15:29Speaker 1: take a quick break and we will be right back.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Naughty but Nice Show. Hey, let's
- 15:36Speaker 1: get to the polls. Thank you very much for that
- 15:40Speaker 1: last show, we talked about Kim Kardashian, who said her
- 15:43Speaker 1: marriage to Kanye West was beautiful, but you can't help
- 15:46Speaker 1: people who don't want to be helped. Do you agree
- 15:50Speaker 1: with Kim? Can you help people who do not want
- 15:53Speaker 1: to be helped? While this is massive, eighty nine percent
- 15:57Speaker 1: said they do agree with Kim. If somebody does want help,
- 16:00Speaker 1: it doesn't matter how much they need it. If they
- 16:03Speaker 1: don't want it, it ain't gonna work.
- 16:06Speaker 2: No, this is one of my toxic traits actually, is
- 16:08Speaker 2: like I try to fix people, and I try to
- 16:11Speaker 2: like see situations and how I can make it better
- 16:13Speaker 2: even though they don't ask me to, they don't want it,
- 16:15Speaker 2: and then I find myself in like a big mess.
- 16:17Speaker 2: So but I do I get it, Kim, I understand.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Do Yeah, particularly if gosh, if they're your husband. Yeah, yeah,
- 16:24Speaker 1: you're gonna say it's so complicated. I think I do
- 16:27Speaker 1: this too. I mean I want to try, even if
- 16:29Speaker 1: it falls on deaf ears. Like I give my friends
- 16:32Speaker 1: advice all the time, and often they don't ask for it,
- 16:34Speaker 1: but I do. I do give them advice and I
- 16:37Speaker 1: think it's great advice. But whether or not they listen,
- 16:40Speaker 1: it's up to them. But you do see it, don't
- 16:42Speaker 1: You see people you know, even people you love, who
- 16:45Speaker 1: keep making the same mistake over a day until they
- 16:48Speaker 1: see it themselves. You ain't gonna change it. They don't.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Forget to vote on today's Paul, go to war Twitter
- 16:54Speaker 1: page not you know facebook page is not a gossip
- 16:58Speaker 1: and be sure back to Morale to hear your results are.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Now it's time for a ninetyst of the day.
- 17:08Speaker 2: Wow, that's a long one. I like that. Today it's
- 17:15Speaker 2: Joe Jonas and he's admitting that he was so jealous
- 17:17Speaker 2: when Nick was hired on The Voice.
- 17:19Speaker 1: That's big to admit.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Big to admit So. The thirty three year old explained
- 17:23Speaker 2: that he was at a Fleetwood Mac concert in twenty
- 17:26Speaker 2: nineteen when he learned that his brother Nick had been
- 17:29Speaker 2: hired as the coach on the Voice, and because Joe
- 17:33Speaker 2: had already served as a coach on The Voice Australia,
- 17:36Speaker 2: he felt so jealous that he.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Cried, oh, he'dn't really done it.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Yeah, he'd done it, and he said it was bitter sweet.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Of course, I'm super happy for him, but I was

- 18:03Speaker 1: ruined my day, particularly if the competitor wasn't as good
- 18:06Speaker 1: as me. Josh, but it used to just drive. It
- 18:11Speaker 1: used to drive, and I knew that I couldn't be
- 18:14Speaker 1: on the show every week or every day. They had
- 18:16Speaker 1: rotating experts for celebrity, godship or news or Royals, but
