- 0:07Speaker 1: It's podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Welcome to Meet Eater Trivia, the only game show where
- 0:12Speaker 2: conservation always wins. I'm your host, Spencer new Arth, and
- 0:16Speaker 2: today we're joined by Steve Yanni Brody, Samantha Randall, Garrett Carin,
- 0:22Speaker 2: and our special guest, Rich Throwning. Rich is the Fittest
- 0:26Speaker 2: Man on Earth. That's a real title. Rich, Tell folks
- 0:29Speaker 2: what it means to be the fittest man on Earth.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Just means you're really good at working out. And that
- 0:35Speaker 3: was a long time ago. Okay, Yeah, I competed for
- 0:38Speaker 3: shoot fourteen years. Last year was the first year I
- 0:40Speaker 3: didn't compete, So, yeah, tell folks.
- 0:44Speaker 2: You gotta win though, to be the fittest man on Earth.
- 0:46Speaker 3: Uh, basically there's a hell it's changed over the last
- 0:50Speaker 3: couple of years. But four or five day competition where
- 0:52Speaker 3: basically they just give you a bunch of workouts and
- 0:55Speaker 3: you don't know what you're showing up for. So I
- 0:57Speaker 3: did that for five years, and then I competed on
- 1:00Speaker 3: a team for seven years.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I won four times as an individual and six times
- 1:04Speaker 1: on a team.
- 1:04Speaker 2: So but you said you're part of the old Guard
- 1:07Speaker 2: old years, You're like, what thirty five?
- 1:09Speaker 1: Yeah, they're like dog years. Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:12Speaker 3: And then we actually have our own unit of measurement
- 1:14Speaker 3: uh in Tennessee. It's CrossFit Mayhem years, and they're actually
- 1:18Speaker 3: even harder than than actual CrossFit years. So yeah, I'm
- 1:21Speaker 3: probably about sixty four. But it takes like joints and
- 1:24Speaker 3: joint space.
- 1:25Speaker 1: And all that type of stuff.
- 1:26Speaker 2: That's where I'm at sure, And you're a hunter. Just
- 1:28Speaker 2: being the fittest man on earth help you with hunting?
- 1:31Speaker 3: Oh, absolutely, you know the mental side of it, the
- 1:34Speaker 3: physical side of it. Yeah, it's been, uh, the ultimate competition.
- 1:38Speaker 3: That's that's kind of the draw for me in the
- 1:39Speaker 3: last couple of years.
- 1:40Speaker 2: But you were saying before the show that some of
- 1:42Speaker 2: your competitors would really struggle on a mountain.
- 1:44Speaker 3: I would say some of the newest struggling oat rush,
- 1:48Speaker 3: oak brush, oak brush is oak brushing blowdown is the
- 1:52Speaker 3: the some of the worst mental grind stuff ever. We
- 1:56Speaker 3: we uh, we've run into a lot of that the
- 1:58Speaker 3: last couple of years.
- 1:59Speaker 2: And how would your competitors doing meat eater trivia?
- 2:01Speaker 3: You think probably better than me, you know, We'll see.
- 2:04Speaker 1: I've I have read Long.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Hunters, and I have read American Buffalo so and he
- 2:09Speaker 3: has the board game, so he's been studying.
- 2:11Speaker 2: He said, you seem like get my kids.
- 2:13Speaker 3: You know, trying to get the kids to where they
- 2:15Speaker 3: you know, know what's going on now.
- 2:16Speaker 2: This is a ten round quiz show with questions for
- 2:19Speaker 2: meat Eaters for verticals which are hunting, fishing, conservation, and cooking,
- 2:22Speaker 2: and there is a prize. Meat Eater will donate five
- 2:24Speaker 2: hundred dollars to the conservation organization of the winners choosing
- 2:28Speaker 2: and for the stat of the week. This week, we're
- 2:30Speaker 2: looking at the average score for all players in the
- 2:33Speaker 2: first forty five games versus the last forty five games.
- 2:37Speaker 2: This will tell us if rounds of Meat Eater Trivia
- 2:39Speaker 2: have gotten harder or easier over time.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Or if everybody got older maybe or smarter.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Or smarter we had better players, more forgetful. What's okay?
- 2:48Speaker 2: What's your prediction? Do you think trivia has gotten harder
- 2:52Speaker 2: or easier since we've started?
- 2:54Speaker 1: I bet it's I bet it's not. It's the I
- 2:59Speaker 1: bet it's notistically significant.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Any other guesses harder or easier? Yanna, you've been playing
- 3:04Speaker 2: since the beginning, bro You've been playing since the beginning
- 3:06Speaker 2: harder or easier?
- 3:07Speaker 1: Now?
- 3:08Speaker 2: I would have also tried to say statistically significant.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Well, I didn't say that. I said statistically insignificant or
- 3:15Speaker 1: not significant? All right.
- 3:17Speaker 2: The average score for players in the first forty five
- 3:19Speaker 2: games is four point four to eight. The average score
- 3:22Speaker 2: for players in the last forty five games is four
- 3:25Speaker 2: point nine to five. That means overtime, our player scores
- 3:28Speaker 2: have improved by half a point. Would you call it
- 3:30Speaker 2: significant or not insignificant? Insignificant? Okay, all right, now, Steve,
- 3:35Speaker 2: you may not be familiar, but we have a new
- 3:36Speaker 2: segment here on Trivia. At the beginning, it's I FAQ's
- 3:40Speaker 2: This is our Infrequently Asked Question segment. If you have
- 3:43Speaker 2: a trivia related question for our crew, send it to
- 3:46Speaker 2: Trivia at the mediator dot com with the subject line
- 3:49Speaker 2: I FAQ. This first one is from Rowdy Duelard. This
- 3:53Speaker 2: is Steve, he says, Steve Rowdy duler rowdy. Maybe that's
- 3:59Speaker 2: just how he signs his emails. Yeah, rowdy do alert.
- 4:02Speaker 2: This is for Steve.
- 4:03Speaker 1: His drinking name. What's your drinking They're like, oh no,
- 4:07Speaker 1: here goes a rowdy.
- 4:09Speaker 2: What's your what's your drinking name?
- 4:11Speaker 1: I don't know. I've never had when I quit drinking too.
- 4:14Speaker 2: But what was your rock rock band, Steve Verno?
- 4:17Speaker 1: Have you that? No you remember when?
- 4:19Speaker 3: Uh?
- 4:21Speaker 1: No, I don't know.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Okay, No, maybe you'll think.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I've just always been. Yeah, I've just always been.
- 4:28Speaker 2: He gives nick names, he doesn't receive them.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Well, no, I have an alien killer.
- 4:34Speaker 4: An alias isn't a nickname.
- 4:36Speaker 1: No, you're right, and I came up with it.
- 4:39Speaker 2: You get to shared or wouldn't it be.
- 4:40Speaker 1: To share it? Dude? It's like if you're sitting on
- 4:42Speaker 1: a plane and you like you'll and you go to
- 4:45Speaker 1: air drop, You're not gonna find my ass the air dropping,
- 4:49Speaker 1: you know what I mean.
- 4:51Speaker 2: There's some big movie that came out right now, where
- 4:53Speaker 2: the the what does it film? Maybe you know this?
- 4:55Speaker 2: The writer, the producers, and alias, nobody knows who it is.
- 4:59Speaker 2: No tongue idea.
- 5:00Speaker 5: I know that the the Coen Brothers will often like
- 5:02Speaker 5: they'll they'll edit their own movies and then they'll put
- 5:04Speaker 5: they'll make up a fake name as the editor. Steven
- 5:06Speaker 5: Soderberg does the same thing and stuff like that.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Here's our question.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Uh my buddy Ben Wallace, he wrote Billionaires Vinegar and
- 5:13Speaker 1: he's been on the show before because he wrote about
- 5:15Speaker 1: the he wrote about the fend cash. Uh. He's doing
- 5:18Speaker 1: a book. He's well into it now, and he didn't
- 5:21Speaker 1: he didn't want released. They only just now announced the book.
- 5:26Speaker 1: But he's been working on it a long time and
- 5:28Speaker 1: he didn't want anyone to know he was working on
- 5:29Speaker 1: it because he didn't want to screw up what he
- 5:32Speaker 1: was trying to find.
- 5:33Speaker 2: M hm.
- 5:34Speaker 1: But he's doing a book about who invented crypto?
- 5:39Speaker 2: Mmm.
- 5:41Speaker 1: No one knows who the individual is, does Ben, He's
- 5:45Speaker 1: got ideas, but it's more like what he does is
- 5:48Speaker 1: I haven't talked about it in a long time. At
- 5:50Speaker 1: the time I spoke with him about it. The last
- 5:52Speaker 1: time I met with him, he was spending a lot
- 5:55Speaker 1: of time on explaining who it's. Not of the many
- 6:00Speaker 1: people who've come forward to say it's a Japanese name,
- 6:04Speaker 1: which certainly it's an alias, it's like, yeah, just look
- 6:07Speaker 1: it up, Yakamo, Like do we even know what crypto is? No?
- 6:14Speaker 1: In this book up top, you should probably explain what
- 6:16Speaker 1: is that? What is it? All right? Steve?
- 6:19Speaker 2: This question is what from rowdy Steve seems like he
- 6:23Speaker 2: couldn't have cared less about organized sports growing up. Why then,
- 6:27Speaker 2: is he so competitive at trivia? Why does he fight
- 6:30Speaker 2: tooth and nail when he thinks an answer is correct?
- 6:33Speaker 1: So what the hell's one have to do with the other.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I know, maybe it's a lack of competitive sports in
- 6:39Speaker 2: your life make you so competitive. Here I learned on
- 6:42Speaker 2: the live.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Toteve I was not interested in organized I'm not interested
- 6:47Speaker 1: in organized team sports, particularly watching other people play a game.
- 6:53Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Like, I'm just rather to
- 6:55Speaker 1: play the game. Do you think you're a competitive That's
- 6:57Speaker 1: I told my daughter you to day. She forbade her
- 6:59Speaker 1: from You're leading. I just like you want to watch
- 7:03Speaker 1: boys play a game and yell about it.
- 7:05Speaker 2: No, do you think you're a competitive person?
- 7:09Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 7:09Speaker 6: Is that a question?
- 7:10Speaker 1: Steve is? So, I don't see what the overlap is.
- 7:14Speaker 1: We're watching me and my older boy right now are
- 7:16Speaker 1: watching Masters of the Air, Masters of the Sky, Masters
- 7:20Speaker 1: of the Air. There's a pilot in there. There are
- 7:22Speaker 1: is teasing because he doesn't like organized sports, but he's
- 7:26Speaker 1: a highly competitive B seventeen pilot.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Well, Steve is competitive everything and live to where he
- 7:32Speaker 2: would get competitive about who made the best order at dinner.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I get stressed about that. I want to
- 7:38Speaker 1: make I want to place the order that winds up
- 7:41Speaker 1: having like thought through everything and like why everybody ordered
- 7:45Speaker 1: the wrong thing and I got the right thing and
- 7:47Speaker 1: they're all like, dude, you got the right thing.
- 7:50Speaker 4: So the.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Other night we all shared plates that must have been stressful.
- 7:57Speaker 1: And Y picked that. So I don't want to tease it.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I don't want to hear fields watch like lumberjack games.
- 8:02Speaker 6: Uh huh, I feel it that'd be something you get
- 8:05Speaker 6: into because it's just.
- 8:07Speaker 1: No, because if I'm wat I like to kind of watch. No,
- 8:10Speaker 1: I'm no, I don't watch stuff. I mean I watched
- 8:13Speaker 1: a lot of stuff, but I wouldn't watch that.
- 8:14Speaker 6: But it's like a competition where folks are actually like
- 8:17Speaker 6: doing something you would deem as useful.
- 8:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but I wouldn't even watch like a squirrel hunting contest.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Probably probably probably Richie just being a CrossFit World champion.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Is it safe to assume that you're a competitive person?
- 8:33Speaker 2: You could say that, Okay, can you analyze why Steve
- 8:36Speaker 2: doesn't care for competitive sports?
- 8:37Speaker 3: But he's a competitive I mean, hunting is the ultimate competition, right,
- 8:40Speaker 3: you know when you think about it's you versus the
- 8:42Speaker 3: animal that's he's draw draw to me, I'm not kiss
- 8:45Speaker 3: an ass. I'm just like literally, that's what I always
- 8:47Speaker 3: equate it to. Ultimate competition.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Yeah, how did so you think that just in your
- 8:52Speaker 1: little mind there, you think that competition in humans didn't
- 8:56Speaker 1: emerge until organized sports.
- 8:58Speaker 2: No rowdy does though, And I just wanted to because if.
- 9:01Speaker 1: You're looking at like a seventy five thousand year gap
- 9:07Speaker 1: of no competitive spirits and humans, yet somehow the species survived.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Honestly, Steve, I wanted to tell a story about you
- 9:14Speaker 2: getting competitive over dinner orders. So I picked this question,
- 9:18Speaker 2: and here we are now fifteen minutes later. Now we
- 9:20Speaker 2: have some housekeeping again to In a previous game of
- 9:22Speaker 2: trivia where Steve hosted, he had a question about states
- 9:26Speaker 2: with manatee sightings. About a dozen listeners wrote in saying
- 9:29Speaker 2: Steve's phrasing was wrong. Here's an email from Logan Patterson
- 9:34Speaker 2: with context. While the text of the question in the
- 9:38Speaker 2: video correctly uses incident.
- 9:40Speaker 5: That's because I changed it.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Oh, okay, we address.
- 9:46Speaker 2: We can't address that after let me can we hear
- 9:49Speaker 2: it question. While the text of the question in the
- 9:53Speaker 2: video correctly uses incidents, Steve does not. An incident with
- 9:58Speaker 2: a T refers to any event or occurrence, while incidents
- 10:02Speaker 2: with a C refers to the frequency or rate of
- 10:06Speaker 2: an occurrence. Rarely does someone use incidents in its plural
- 10:10Speaker 2: form correctly or purposefully, So if one is ever unsure
- 10:14Speaker 2: of which to use, the answer is almost always incident.
- 10:18Speaker 1: With a T. I gotta look this up.
- 10:20Speaker 2: While Steve's first incident of misuse did not initially spur
- 10:24Speaker 2: me to write in as he continues to repeat the question,
- 10:27Speaker 2: his incidents of misuse caused me to compose this email,
- 10:31Speaker 2: And as we just learned, Phil correctly did it in
- 10:34Speaker 2: the question.
- 10:34Speaker 1: So you fixed me up, Phil, but partially Yeah, you've
- 10:39Speaker 1: been doing a great job. Did you see that dude
- 10:40Speaker 1: that just tattooed that logo on himself?
- 10:42Speaker 4: We did.
- 10:43Speaker 2: It's great. Now there's two of us dummies in the
- 10:45Speaker 2: world who have the game on sucking.
- 10:48Speaker 1: Log Can you forward me that feedback?
- 10:51Speaker 3: Read?
- 10:51Speaker 2: Yeah, you do some factors?
- 10:54Speaker 1: Well, no, I'm not a fact check it. I just
- 10:55Speaker 1: need to understand. I want to I want to correct it,
- 10:57Speaker 1: and I need to understand better what he's saying.
- 10:59Speaker 5: Did you use the reply when we asked how it
- 11:02Speaker 5: saved the fellow's life that tattooed that onto his body.
- 11:05Speaker 1: A minute ago. I read the whole I didn't know
- 11:07Speaker 1: I read the whole thing a minute ago. That's pretty cool.
- 11:09Speaker 2: You just but you were just gonna gloss over that
- 11:11Speaker 2: part of it.
- 11:12Speaker 1: I don't want to get into the guy's personal information.
- 11:15Speaker 1: I just was observing.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I don't feel like it's worth talking about Corinth.
- 11:20Speaker 1: Don't you feel like.
- 11:21Speaker 2: That's too personal?
- 11:22Speaker 1: To be kind of personal? Okay? I mean I really
- 11:24Speaker 1: appreciated it, but I didn't want to. I didn't want to,
- 11:27Speaker 1: you know. I mean the guy, I feel like he
- 11:30Speaker 1: was kind of writing a personal email and I see right, Yeah,
- 11:36Speaker 1: that's your cue. Oh yeah, I recently shared about having
- 11:41Speaker 1: a sonogram done on I scrolled him. That's personal.
- 11:46Speaker 2: Yeah, but that was your choice, shared it on the air.
- 11:49Speaker 2: The Shelby Index for today's round is a three, so
- 11:53Speaker 2: our winner should get six correct answers, and with that
- 11:56Speaker 2: we're onto the game of trivia. Play the drop, Phil, Look,
- 12:02Speaker 2: I need to know what I stand to win everything?
- 12:07Speaker 1: How's it just tend to win everything?
- 12:16Speaker 2: Gamon Suckers. Question one. The topic is hunting. In This
- 12:20Speaker 2: is multiple choice. Which of these states harvested the most
- 12:25Speaker 2: elk between twenty eighteen and twenty twenty. Is it Wyoming, Colorado,
- 12:31Speaker 2: Utah or Organs The topic is hunting. Which of these
- 12:38Speaker 2: states harvested the most elk between twenty eighteen and twenty twenty, Wyoming, Colorado, Utah,
- 12:45Speaker 2: organ Our players were quick to answer. They seem confident.
- 12:50Speaker 2: It's everybody ready, go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 12:55Speaker 2: have Rich saying Colorado, Sam saying Wyoming, Karen saying Wyoming.
- 13:00Speaker 2: The rest of the room says Colorado. They got it.
- 13:03Speaker 2: The correct answer is Colorado. Colorado leads the nation in
- 13:07Speaker 2: el carvest, averaging nearly forty thousand filled tags per year
- 13:12Speaker 2: between twenty eighteen and twenty twenty. That's followed by Idaho
- 13:15Speaker 2: with thirty thousand, Montana with twenty seven thousand, Wyoming with
- 13:19Speaker 2: twenty five thousand, Oregon with sixteen thousand, and Utah with fifteen.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Can you hit me with the top two again?
- 13:25Speaker 2: Colorado Colorado forty thousand, followed by Idaho with thirty thousand,
- 13:29Speaker 2: Montana with twenty seven thousand.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I would have thought the spread to be even wider,
- 13:33Speaker 1: because I mean, I mean Colorado quarter million. Yeah, like
- 13:37Speaker 1: twice as many ol.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Because the don't they harvest the most mule deer as well.
- 13:41Speaker 2: In Colorado Biggins Question two, the topic is cooking.
- 13:46Speaker 1: I don't. I don't think most. I think they harvest more.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Most boot and crockett. I know that way, but I
- 13:51Speaker 2: would assume there's a correlation.
- 13:53Speaker 1: I bet I bet you. I bet you this state.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I bet you this state. I'd be curious. No, I
- 13:59Speaker 1: bet you this state numbers dress that in a future
- 14:05Speaker 1: and all the dough tag allocations, which Colorado doesn't do. Right.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Question to the topic is cooking. According to Eater, the
- 14:13Speaker 2: key difference between these deli meats is that one comes
- 14:16Speaker 2: from brisket and is boiled, while the other comes from
- 14:20Speaker 2: a shoulder and is smoked. So you'll have two answers here.
- 14:25Speaker 2: According to Eater, the key difference between these deli meats
- 14:29Speaker 2: is that one comes from brisket and is boiled, while
- 14:32Speaker 2: the other comes from a shoulder and is smoked. Two answers.
- 14:38Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I thought, do it again.
- 14:41Speaker 2: According to Eater, the key difference between these deli meats
- 14:45Speaker 2: is that one comes from brisket and is boiled, while
- 14:49Speaker 2: the other comes from a shoulder and is smoked. Yanni,
- 14:55Speaker 2: do you have this one right?
- 14:58Speaker 1: Good?
- 14:58Speaker 2: Guess, got a good guess. Karen is shrugging her shoulders.
- 15:03Speaker 2: You don't think you have this one?
- 15:04Speaker 4: K Man.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I don't want to chit chat about it, but I
- 15:07Speaker 1: got a couple. All right.
- 15:09Speaker 2: You're gonna have to argue with Eater if you don't
- 15:11Speaker 2: like how they defined these was that?
- 15:14Speaker 1: Was that? What happened to that jump trap? There was
- 15:18Speaker 1: an incident.
- 15:21Speaker 2: I was gathering up the whiteboards and bumped into it.
- 15:23Speaker 2: And now it lays on the ground below and Steve there,
- 15:27Speaker 2: there's there's no shortage of one hundred things on the
- 15:30Speaker 2: wall in here, and Steve noticed one of them.
- 15:32Speaker 1: There's one there that I noticed is Phil lost my
- 15:35Speaker 1: favorite quote of all time. You can't find it. I've
- 15:39Speaker 1: been trying very hard to win. I know chat GPT
- 15:44Speaker 1: can't find it.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Steve just dreamt this quote up?
- 15:48Speaker 2: Which one?
- 15:49Speaker 1: It's a quote? Okay? I was in the New Yorker.
- 15:52Speaker 1: I was reading a review of an of like It
- 15:55Speaker 1: was like a It was like a right up of
- 15:58Speaker 1: a bunch of Irish and of one of these obscure
- 16:03Speaker 1: Irish novelists. The author said, of seeing his children born,
- 16:08Speaker 1: he blank and he had said how they emerge? Streamlined
- 16:14Speaker 1: by time like ancient pharaohs and then in an instant
- 16:19Speaker 1: they become young. But it was a lot better than that,
- 16:21Speaker 1: and Phil lost.
- 16:22Speaker 2: It is everybody having it framed. Everybody already start a
- 16:29Speaker 2: fire with it. Go ahead and reveal your answers. We
- 16:32Speaker 2: have Rich saying corned beef and roast beef. Say I'm
- 16:36Speaker 2: saying pastrami, roast beef. Krinn saying corned beef, pastrami, Randall
- 16:41Speaker 2: sang pastrami, corned beef, Steve saying pastrami, corn beef. Garrett
- 16:46Speaker 2: sang pastrami, roast beef, Yanni saying corned beef, pastrami, Brody
- 16:51Speaker 2: saying pastrami, corned beef. The two answers are pastrami and
- 16:57Speaker 2: corned meat. Corned beef is good in off.
- 17:00Speaker 1: You know what I think. According to who's a guy
- 17:04Speaker 1: that did Sharkoutrie, he's been on the podcast, Michael Ruhman,
- 17:10Speaker 1: he points out that it's like doesn't have to do
- 17:13Speaker 1: with when you put all that coriander on the outside like.
- 17:15Speaker 1: He points that out as a defining difference.
- 17:20Speaker 2: Eater says that pastrami and corn meat use a similar brine,
- 17:24Speaker 2: but really start to differ after that. Pastrami often uses
- 17:28Speaker 2: shoulder meat, has a heavy spice coating and is smoked,
- 17:32Speaker 2: while corn meat often uses brisket, has no applied spice
- 17:36Speaker 2: mix and is boiled. If you want to learn how
- 17:38Speaker 2: to make these, then go to the mediator dot com
- 17:40Speaker 2: and check out our recipe for elk pastrami or corned
- 17:43Speaker 2: goose breast.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Really quick, Rich, did you get that one over here?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Sorry, roast beef, said roast beef. We're not accepting that
- 17:52Speaker 2: pastrami born meat. Question three, the topic is fishing. This
- 17:56Speaker 2: next great question comes to us via Jack Grinblat, sometimes
- 18:01Speaker 2: referred to as quote double a double handed fly rod.
- 18:05Speaker 2: This piece of gear is named after a river in Scotland.
- 18:11Speaker 2: Brody and Yanni and Steve are confident, Randall, do you
- 18:16Speaker 2: have this one right?
- 18:18Speaker 4: I do? Guys to use these things, don't use bobbers.
- 18:22Speaker 2: Sometimes sometimes referred to as a double handed fly rod.
- 18:27Speaker 2: This piece of gear is named after a river in Scotland.
- 18:30Speaker 2: I've never heard that double flyer out of you throw
- 18:34Speaker 2: that name.
- 18:35Speaker 4: You've heard.
- 18:37Speaker 1: Someone says I know what he's talking about, but I
- 18:39Speaker 1: never heard someone say a double handed.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Fly It's everybody ready, Garrett, are you gonna get this
- 18:47Speaker 2: one right.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Looks rough, dude.
- 18:52Speaker 2: That's when competitive people I don't know, you know, slam
- 18:56Speaker 2: on the table. That kind of thing happens.
- 18:58Speaker 1: They have tantrums.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Is everybody go ahead and reveal your answers. We have
- 19:03Speaker 2: Rich saying gravehearts, Sam saying our gyle, Karen saying shinkaku.
- 19:11Speaker 1: Oh no, you're thinking of uh.
- 19:15Speaker 2: The rest of the room says spey rod. They got it.
- 19:18Speaker 2: The correct answer is spae rod. Spae rods are often
- 19:21Speaker 2: eleven to fifteen feet long, and casting them is very
- 19:24Speaker 2: reliant on line weight and water resistance. Spare rods can
- 19:28Speaker 2: cast great distances, making them a popular choice for salmon
- 19:32Speaker 2: and steelhead anglers. To learn about this technique, go to
- 19:34Speaker 2: the mediator dot com and read Kooby Brown's article called
- 19:37Speaker 2: how to Get started spade casting. If anyone used a
- 19:41Speaker 2: spay rod in this room.
- 19:42Speaker 1: What were you doing with that brotted?
- 19:45Speaker 2: What were you doing with that spe rod? Okay being
- 19:49Speaker 2: all pretentious fishing, No, I'm not like, okay, not in
- 19:53Speaker 2: the spae crowd.
- 19:54Speaker 1: I've done it.
- 19:55Speaker 2: But those guys, those guys don't like nim fishermen who
- 19:59Speaker 2: use bobbers.
- 20:00Speaker 1: You know what I want to get a new one.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Someone's tenkara is a year. I had one, but it
- 20:07Speaker 1: was like a ten eleven footer. Yeah, but for where
- 20:12Speaker 1: you know, they're practical. No, I want I want a seven.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Cut the bottom three feet off.
- 20:19Speaker 1: Well, it wasn't mine, so I was borrowing. I was
- 20:22Speaker 1: borrowing it, and I'm like, I see the idea, but
- 20:24Speaker 1: this isn't the one. I'm sure they make, Shorty, I'm shorty.
- 20:27Speaker 2: Question for the topic is public lands? What state is
- 20:30Speaker 2: home to Cherokee National Forest, Trail of Tiers National Historic
- 20:35Speaker 2: Trail and David Crockett Birthplace State Park?
- 20:42Speaker 1: What states?
- 20:43Speaker 2: What state is home to Cherokee National Forest, Trail of
- 20:47Speaker 2: Tiers National Historic Trail and David Crockett Birthplace State Park?
- 20:53Speaker 4: David not Davy.
- 20:54Speaker 2: They call it David Crockett Birthplace state guy. Respect what
- 21:00Speaker 2: this state refers to.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Name mind reminds me Davy Crockett.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Just a coincidence. We have a very confident Steve. Steve,
- 21:10Speaker 2: you have this one, right, Uh yeah, okay.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Well no, I don't you know. I honestly don't know.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I was going to put something down and then I
- 21:20Speaker 1: thought better and put something different down.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, is everybody ready.
- 21:23Speaker 1: So no, I'm not there. Not like the other questions.
- 21:26Speaker 2: This is question for We're waiting on Karen to finish
- 21:30Speaker 2: her answers. Brody is rethinking.
- 21:33Speaker 6: Steve speaking of things on the wall, is that one
- 21:35Speaker 6: of our coyotes up there?
- 21:36Speaker 4: Can you read the three things again?
- 21:37Speaker 2: Cherokee National Forest, Trail of Tears, National Historic Trail, Davy
- 21:42Speaker 2: Crockett Birthplace, State Park.
- 21:43Speaker 1: No, those are all last year. Those are all tanned up.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I haven't said anything in yet.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Rich is doing a quick change of answer over here,
- 21:50Speaker 2: and then we're gonna flip over your quick internet search.
- 21:54Speaker 3: That's gonna be really embarrassing if I missed it.
- 21:56Speaker 2: So I just need to go go ahead and reveal
- 21:58Speaker 2: your answers. We have written saying Tennessee, Tennessee, Arkansas.
- 22:04Speaker 4: Karin sang.
- 22:08Speaker 2: Saying George Revery Tree, Steve sang Tennessee, Garrett sang Tennessee.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Yanni sang Oklahoma, Brody sang Oklahoma.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Born on a mountaintop in Oklahoma.
- 22:21Speaker 2: We have a correct answer in the room. It's Tennessee.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Steve and Rich got that right. I'm from there, Arrett
- 22:30Speaker 2: and Garrett, Garrett.
- 22:32Speaker 4: How'd you get that one?
- 22:33Speaker 2: Born Tennessee is home to David Crockett Birthplace State Park
- 22:40Speaker 2: in the northeast part of the state and David Crockett
- 22:43Speaker 2: State Park in the southern part of the state. David
- 22:46Speaker 2: Crockett State Park was home to a powder mill, grain mill,
- 22:49Speaker 2: and distillery that Crockett owned, but all three were washed
- 22:52Speaker 2: away in a flood in eighteen twenty one. The financial
- 22:55Speaker 2: hardship of that event caused him to move to West Tennessee,
- 22:59Speaker 2: which is where he was elected to Congress. Now our guest,
- 23:01Speaker 2: Rich is from Tennessee. Rich, that was the bone I
- 23:04Speaker 2: was throwing. Have you spent much time in Cherokee National
- 23:06Speaker 2: Forest or David Crockett State Park?
- 23:09Speaker 5: No?
- 23:09Speaker 1: But Daniel Boone National Forest.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Okay, just a little bit north of me. What what
- 23:13Speaker 2: did you change your answer from when.
- 23:14Speaker 4: Your North Carolina?
- 23:15Speaker 3: Because it's right there in the close like I was
- 23:18Speaker 3: going to start. And then the Davy Crockett Birthplace, you
- 23:21Speaker 3: know it was tough.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Now North caro I got a tribute question for you.
- 23:24Speaker 1: What do you got Why wouldn't Crockett eat potatoes? I don't.
- 23:29Speaker 2: I don't know because he.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Once had to eat potatoes boiled in human fat. Whoa
- 23:34Speaker 1: cured him of it.
- 23:35Speaker 2: How did that come up?
- 23:37Speaker 1: Because we had a guy on the show that was
- 23:39Speaker 1: a Davy krocketty.
- 23:40Speaker 2: Why did he Why was he like served potatoes.
- 23:43Speaker 1: During the during one of the I can't remember. It
- 23:46Speaker 1: was during the Seminal Wars. What war was it? They
- 23:49Speaker 1: burned a huge building full of captives and all that,
- 23:54Speaker 1: and there there was a root cellar below the building,
- 23:56Speaker 1: and all those cooking bodies, all that rendered fat dripped
- 24:00Speaker 1: down through the burning structure. And later they were starving
- 24:04Speaker 1: to death and return to that site and had to
- 24:06Speaker 1: go down there and eat those taters.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Huh you think you could eat taters cooked in human fat?
- 24:12Speaker 1: No, okay, not even if you were starving. Oh yeah,
- 24:15Speaker 1: all starving. I need you cooked starving? Uh.
- 24:19Speaker 2: Now, North Carolina would be a logical answer because Cherokee
- 24:22Speaker 2: National Forest bleeds into there and the Trail of Tears
- 24:24Speaker 2: National Historic Trail goes through there. But only David Crockett
- 24:27Speaker 2: birth Place State Park. What war was in Tennessee.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Not the Seminal Wars? I'm not sure.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Question five the topic is conservation. This is our listener
- 24:36Speaker 2: Question of the Week, which was won by Nick Sikowski
- 24:39Speaker 2: for sending this great question, Nick is going to get
- 24:41Speaker 2: a board game signed by the crew. If you want
- 24:43Speaker 2: a chance to win our listener Question of the Week
- 24:45Speaker 2: and send your question to Trivia at the medeater dot com.
- 24:49Speaker 2: What animal is featured in the US Department of the
- 24:52Speaker 2: Interior logo? The topic is conservation. Steve and Randall are
- 25:00Speaker 2: so confident they already have their whiteboards down. What animal
- 25:04Speaker 2: is featured in the US Department of the Interior logo?
- 25:10Speaker 1: Man, I'm second guessing. What do you got there? Randall?
- 25:14Speaker 2: Oh no, no, no, Steve declared. He's in the power corner
- 25:18Speaker 2: next to Randall at the end of the table, the
- 25:21Speaker 2: foot of the cough, the cough. What animal is featured
- 25:28Speaker 2: in the US Department of the Interior logo? Brody looks
- 25:31Speaker 2: stumped over here, Steve, we had a different question recently.
- 25:38Speaker 2: That's like, okay, we had a different infrequently asked question
- 25:42Speaker 2: from a listener who wanted to know who you most
- 25:45Speaker 2: enjoy beating at trivia. We assumed your answer would be Brody.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Is that correct?
- 25:52Speaker 1: I was getting old?
- 25:53Speaker 2: Now just beating him was getting old.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Okay, bring me a thrill. But like everything you know,
- 26:00Speaker 1: where is all?
- 26:01Speaker 2: Just beating Randa will give you more satisfaction.
- 26:03Speaker 1: More than I feel like I've been beating Brody longer.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Kid?
- 26:09Speaker 2: Does everyone have an answer for the.
- 26:11Speaker 1: That brings me a thrill? If he really wants to
- 26:13Speaker 1: know is when you screw something up and I catch him,
- 26:17Speaker 1: that brings me lights up?
- 26:18Speaker 5: Hey, see how many incidents of Spencer's do you think
- 26:22Speaker 5: you've cut?
- 26:23Speaker 1: Two? Or three?
- 26:23Speaker 2: Little twinkle in his eye? It is everybody ready, Hold
- 26:27Speaker 2: on waiting on Brody. The animal featured in the US
- 26:33Speaker 2: Department of the Interior logo. Go ahead and reveal your answers.
- 26:38Speaker 2: We have Rich saying bison, Sam saying eagle, Krinn bringing
- 26:42Speaker 2: Board saying eagle, Randall saying bison, Steve saying buffalo, Garrett
- 26:48Speaker 2: saying bear, Yanni saying Canada goose, Brody saying bald eagle.
- 26:53Speaker 2: The correct answer is bison, Rich, Steve, Randall, Get that
- 27:01Speaker 2: one right. The Bison seal was created in nineteen seventeen,
- 27:06Speaker 2: which replaced the eagle seal. The eagle logo was temporarily
- 27:10Speaker 2: reinstated in the nineteen twenties and nineteen sixties, but only
- 27:14Speaker 2: for a couple of years. The current bison logo, which
- 27:17Speaker 2: shows a bull standing in front of snow capped Mountains
- 27:20Speaker 2: is nearly identical to the one that was created over
- 27:23Speaker 2: one hundred years ago. It's on the TV there next
- 27:26Speaker 2: to philomen Fell. We're halfway through the game of trivia.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Give us a scoreboard update.
- 27:39Speaker 5: Yeah, sure thing. We've got Sam w zero points, Krinn
- 27:43Speaker 5: has one. We've got Brody, Garrett, Giannis and Rich All
- 27:47Speaker 5: with three points apiece, Randall has four, and Hey with
- 27:50Speaker 5: a perfect game five points. In first place is Stephen Ranella.
- 27:55Speaker 2: Everyone's happy for him.
- 27:56Speaker 4: Tremendous.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Question six, the topic is gear.
- 28:11Speaker 1: Oh can I interrupt real quick? What do he got? Uh? Phil,
- 28:14Speaker 1: are you aware that there was a bunch of wood
- 28:16Speaker 1: paneling left over from the.
- 28:19Speaker 5: No, from what you talked to Chili about that like
- 28:21Speaker 5: to put up and on the walls in this room.
- 28:23Speaker 1: I guess there was a whole bunch of wood paneling somewhere.
- 28:25Speaker 1: That'd be fun. Yeah, I'll go on.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Question six. Definitely worth bringing that up. In the middle
- 28:31Speaker 2: of an episode, Steve said he's getting so forgetful that
- 28:35Speaker 2: he forgets what he forgot earlier, So he just had
- 28:38Speaker 2: to get that off his chest right now. Question six,
- 28:41Speaker 2: the topic is gear. What sporting goods store made national
- 28:44Speaker 2: headlines after it destroyed five million dollars worth of Semiado
- 28:49Speaker 2: rifles in twenty eighteen. What Sporting good Store made national
- 28:56Speaker 2: headlines after it destroyed five million dollars worth of Semiato
- 29:01Speaker 2: rifles in twenty eighteen. Confident Brody Steve.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Well, not really, I didn't know like the verb there.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Destroyed.
- 29:13Speaker 1: Really, I just thought they removed him. They didn't do
- 29:16Speaker 1: like a steep discounts two for one?
- 29:22Speaker 2: Garrett? Do you have this one right? Randall? Do you
- 29:25Speaker 2: have this one right?
- 29:26Speaker 1: Fairly certain?
- 29:28Speaker 2: Is everybody ready? Go ahead? I'm sorry Yanni hasn't even
- 29:33Speaker 2: come up with an go ahead and speak up, Yanni,
- 29:40Speaker 2: go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Rich saying Dix,
- 29:44Speaker 2: Sam saying Bob Wards, Karen saying Bob Wards, Randall Bobby Wards,
- 29:50Speaker 2: Steve saying Dix, Garrett saying Dick, Yanni saying Kabeli's Brody
- 29:55Speaker 2: saying Dix. The correct answer is Dick's Sporting Goods or
- 29:59Speaker 2: Feel the Stream. Dick stops selling Semiato rifles in their
- 30:04Speaker 2: stores in twenty twelve, and stop selling them at their
- 30:07Speaker 2: Field and Stream stores in twenty eighteen. The company CEO
- 30:11Speaker 2: said they had the option of selling the guns back
- 30:13Speaker 2: to manufactures for an eighty percent refund, but decided to
- 30:17Speaker 2: destroy them instead. A twenty nineteen book on the subject
- 30:20Speaker 2: said that the guns were sawed into pieces and turned
- 30:23Speaker 2: into scrap metal. So yes, that guys.
- 30:27Speaker 4: Destroyed.
- 30:28Speaker 1: You never heard that detail. I know they got out
- 30:29Speaker 1: of the biz, but I know they like really went
- 30:32Speaker 1: and chopped them.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Up aggressively got out to come into scrap metal. Question seven.
- 30:38Speaker 2: The topic is biology, and then it's sell them to
- 30:39Speaker 2: the hooties. This next great question comes to us via
- 30:44Speaker 2: Josh Ringsmooth. Encyclopedia Britannica defines this nine letter word as
- 30:50Speaker 2: quote a relationship between two organisms of two different species
- 30:55Speaker 2: in which each benefits. The topic is biology. Encyclopedia Britannica
- 31:03Speaker 2: defines this nine letter word as a relationship between organisms
- 31:08Speaker 2: of two different species in which each benefits. Players are
- 31:14Speaker 2: quick to come up with answers. Garrett has drawn out
- 31:18Speaker 2: his Hangman check marks to make sure he hits nine letters, and.
- 31:24Speaker 6: I got eleven letters.
- 31:26Speaker 1: Fingers just take.
- 31:31Speaker 2: Random wor like.
- 31:38Speaker 6: Everybody wrote it so fast, he's just wrong with two
- 31:42Speaker 6: extra letters.
- 31:43Speaker 2: Nine letter word a relationship between two organisms of different species.
- 31:48Speaker 2: In which each benefits. Is everybody ready?
- 31:52Speaker 7: I want to make soon everybody like, just look, Kate,
- 31:59Speaker 7: I got it, but no, I just want to hit me,
- 32:02Speaker 7: hit me again.
- 32:02Speaker 1: With the question.
- 32:03Speaker 2: Encyclopedia Britannica defines this nine letter word as quote a
- 32:08Speaker 2: relationship between organisms of two different species in which each benefits. Sam,
- 32:14Speaker 2: are we ready?
- 32:16Speaker 1: You know what I'm thinking?
- 32:17Speaker 2: Okay, go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Rich
- 32:22Speaker 2: saying symbiotic, Sam saying mutualistic?
- 32:26Speaker 1: Amould still be nine right?
- 32:29Speaker 2: Symbiotic? Steve saying symbiotic saying co habitats Yeah, symbiotic.
- 32:37Speaker 1: What do you got, bro? He doesn't get it.
- 32:38Speaker 2: What's his answer?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Symbiosis?
- 32:40Speaker 2: Symbiosis not right.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Because that's it. That's like a that's like, it's just different.
- 32:45Speaker 2: It's just different. Mutualism is also not the correct answer.
- 32:49Speaker 2: So what's your answer for the correct answer is mutualism?
- 32:55Speaker 2: Sam Bates got it right.
- 32:58Speaker 1: You're not accepting symbiotic.
- 32:59Speaker 2: The key difference between a mutualistic relationship and symbiotic relationship
- 33:04Speaker 2: is that mutualistic relationships are always beneficial for both parties. Well,
- 33:09Speaker 2: symbiotic relationships can be beneficial for one party or unfavorable
- 33:14Speaker 2: for the other.
- 33:14Speaker 1: No, that's not true.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Symbia, like parasite, can be a symbiotic relationship.
- 33:22Speaker 1: Parasitic relationship.
- 33:23Speaker 2: That's a symbiotic relationship.
- 33:25Speaker 1: Though it's parasitic.
- 33:26Speaker 2: The parasitic relationship is a symbiotic I looked this up
- 33:32Speaker 2: in studying for this question. I'm telling you, guys, it's wrong.
- 33:35Speaker 2: I just saw.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Negative mutualistic answer is the circle one?
- 33:43Speaker 2: Because I just read recently that symbiosis is a form
- 33:46Speaker 2: of mutualism.
- 33:47Speaker 1: You're wrong, dude.
- 33:48Speaker 4: I wrote down mutualistic, but there are too many letters.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Writing about some mutualism mutualistic.
- 33:56Speaker 1: They wouldn't have the word parasitic relationship if they if
- 33:59Speaker 1: it was.
- 34:01Speaker 2: Okay, here's here's hold on. A parasitic relationship is a
- 34:05Speaker 2: type of symbiotic relationship. It's where one benefits and the
- 34:09Speaker 2: other one does not. There's another difference about how close
- 34:12Speaker 2: they have to like be to each other like a
- 34:17Speaker 2: a pollinator. Is not a symbiotic relation. Excuse me, what
- 34:21Speaker 2: is it? That's a direct mutual indirect mutualistic relationship. I
- 34:25Speaker 2: look this up. Both parties benefiting, that's only mutualism.
- 34:29Speaker 1: The internet will tell us too.
- 34:30Speaker 2: So now some famous examples of mutualism are the oxpecker
- 34:35Speaker 2: birds that eat ticks off the backs of zebras, bees
- 34:39Speaker 2: that flowers nettar while also spreading their pollen, and cnemon's
- 34:44Speaker 2: who provide shelter for clownfish and in return, the clownfish
- 34:47Speaker 2: will clean the anenemies tentacles. So mutualistic sam bits got
- 34:52Speaker 2: that one right. Question eight, the topic is cooking.
- 34:55Speaker 1: I got a real problem.
- 34:56Speaker 2: But bone appetite refers to this dish as cooked eggs
- 35:01Speaker 2: swaddled in sausage meat, then breaded and fried. Bone appetite
- 35:08Speaker 2: refers to this dish as cooked eggs swaddled in sausage meat,
- 35:13Speaker 2: then breaded and fried. Mutualistic relationships again, are an example
- 35:20Speaker 2: of symbiotic relationships, just like parasitic relationships are an example of.
- 35:25Speaker 6: So how can symbiois is not be an example of
- 35:27Speaker 6: a mutual relationship.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Because I said that both parties benefit, some of us
- 35:32Speaker 2: are trying to say, this is how eggs.
- 35:35Speaker 4: Breaded and fried.
- 35:38Speaker 2: Okay, Okay, again we're on question eight. The topic is cooking.
- 35:42Speaker 2: Bone appetite refers to this dish as cooked eggs swaddled
- 35:46Speaker 2: in sausage meat.
- 35:50Speaker 1: I have made one a long time, though.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Brody, do you have this one right? Randall? Do you
- 35:57Speaker 2: have this one right?
- 35:58Speaker 1: I've been known to down a few of these.
- 36:00Speaker 2: Okay, every now and then. Yanni, do you have this one?
- 36:03Speaker 4: Yes?
- 36:04Speaker 2: I've never made him though, I need to do that one.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Yeah, you probably have dude with me. No, I know
- 36:09Speaker 1: what you're well, what happened that that might be?
- 36:13Speaker 2: But I personally haven't made him at home.
- 36:16Speaker 5: I want some fan art of Randal just downing a
- 36:18Speaker 5: glass of these like a Rocky.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Please, no one create that image.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Is everybody ready?
- 36:25Speaker 8: Next t shirt?
- 36:28Speaker 2: Go ahead and reveal your answers. We have Rich saying
- 36:31Speaker 2: notre dame, Sam saying toad in the hole, but not that.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Karen sang scotch egg, Randall sang scotch egg, Steve sang
- 36:39Speaker 2: scotch egg. Garrett sang Dutch egg.
- 36:42Speaker 1: Yanni said there's a there's a breakfast called a Dutch baby.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Yanni and Brody said scotch egg.
- 36:48Speaker 1: They got it.
- 36:49Speaker 2: The correct answer is Scotch eggs. Scotch eggs were invented
- 36:54Speaker 2: in the early seventeen hundreds. They were conceived as a
- 36:57Speaker 2: convenient traveling snack for London's wealthy class. If you want
- 37:01Speaker 2: to learn how to make them, then go to the
- 37:03Speaker 2: meadeater dot com and check out our video called wild

- 37:07Speaker 1: It's in the We put it in a book. April
- 37:10Speaker 1: Bloomfield from UH Hunting guidebook? Right, Yeah, from a Spotted Pig.
- 37:18Speaker 1: Was a spotted pig? What was her restaurant in New York?
- 37:20Speaker 1: That I can't remember? She did? She contributed to the book.
- 37:24Speaker 2: She could also learn how to make scotch eggs? And
- 37:26Speaker 2: which book?
- 37:29Speaker 4: Big Game Hunting Guidebook?
- 37:30Speaker 1: I think No, I think it was in. I think
- 37:32Speaker 1: we put it in the you know, we put in
- 37:34Speaker 1: the Wild Game Book. Phil.
- 37:37Speaker 2: We have two questions left. Give us a scoreboard.
- 37:39Speaker 5: Update, Sam Krin for sure, Rich, Jannis, and Garrett are
- 37:44Speaker 5: no longer in the running for the victory. Got Brody
- 37:47Speaker 5: with five points, Randall has six, Stephen Ronella has seven.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Question nine, the topic is wildlife. This next great question
- 37:56Speaker 2: comes to us via Dan Patterson. What Night, teen eighty
- 38:00Speaker 2: eight comedy starring John Candy and Dan Aykroyd ends with
- 38:04Speaker 2: an Alaskan brown bear breaking into a Wisconsin cabin.
- 38:08Speaker 4: Oh God, come on?
- 38:11Speaker 2: What nineteen eighty eight comedy starring John Candy and dan Aykroyd,
- 38:15Speaker 2: ends with an Alaskan brown bear breaking into a Wisconsin cabin. Garrett,
- 38:19Speaker 2: do you have this one?
- 38:20Speaker 6: I would like you to feed us more of these
- 38:22Speaker 6: type of questions.
- 38:22Speaker 8: Okayay, is this like a movie or a TV show? Okay?
- 38:27Speaker 1: Is a movie?
- 38:28Speaker 8: This is not the right answer.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I feel like I think you've asked questions based off
- 38:32Speaker 1: this before, not this, but other details, you know, like.
- 38:37Speaker 6: Some when we're hiring around here. I think this should
- 38:39Speaker 6: be a question that we asked to like decide if
- 38:42Speaker 6: they should work.
- 38:42Speaker 1: They come work. Yeah'd be like, what'd be like? Is
- 38:47Speaker 1: uh is mutualism? I'd ask that if.
- 38:54Speaker 2: Here is everybody ready, we have a confident room, go
- 38:58Speaker 2: ahead and reveal your answers. We have Rich saying wild outdoors,
- 39:02Speaker 2: Sam saying cocaine bear. Karnas had an answer random.
- 39:11Speaker 1: White steak. They got to eat in the Great Outdoors
- 39:13Speaker 1: the old night.
- 39:15Speaker 4: I'd like to point out I didn't like this answer.
- 39:18Speaker 2: Steve's saying great outdoors, Garrett saying great outdoors, Yohanny's saying
- 39:23Speaker 2: great outdoors, Brody's saying great outdoors.
- 39:25Speaker 1: They got it.
- 39:25Speaker 2: The correct answer is the Great Outdoors.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Like it's a look the plots look. Uh. John
- 39:33Speaker 1: Candy takes his family up. Dan Ackroyd's kind of a
- 39:36Speaker 1: blow hard. He's rich, No, he's not. He pretends to
- 39:39Speaker 1: be rich. He's low on jingle okay, and like comes
- 39:42Speaker 1: up there and he's over.
- 39:43Speaker 6: Looking the bear is the headed killer bear Claire County.
- 39:48Speaker 2: That he shot with a shotgun and then they make
- 39:50Speaker 2: him the bald ass bear.
- 39:52Speaker 6: Yeah, the Andy shoots him with a lamp shotgun.
- 39:54Speaker 1: One of the funniest parts is that dude to get
- 39:56Speaker 1: struck by lightning all the time.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Sixty six times and they head. Besides Candy and Ackroyd,
- 40:02Speaker 2: the movie stars Bart, the bear who played the Grizzly
- 40:05Speaker 2: that destroys the family's cabin. Bart was known as the
- 40:09Speaker 2: John Wayne of Bears, appearing in films with movie stars
- 40:13Speaker 2: such as Robert Redford, Morgan Freeman, Ethan Hawke, Steven Seagal,
- 40:17Speaker 2: Brad Pitt, and Anthony Hopkins. Bart died in two thousand
- 40:21Speaker 2: at the age of twenty three.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Did he do Grizzly Adams?
- 40:24Speaker 2: I don't know. He was in everything. He was the
- 40:26Speaker 2: bear for Hollywood.
- 40:27Speaker 1: The John Wayne of Bears.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Phil, we have one question left who remains.
- 40:30Speaker 1: In the game out and get a penny.
- 40:31Speaker 5: That money sad, you know what I mean, hate to
- 40:34Speaker 5: see it. Steve has eight points and is two points
- 40:38Speaker 5: ahead of Birdiyan Randall, but oh wait wait they can't
- 40:42Speaker 5: come back. Steve Winznry already he already wins.
- 40:46Speaker 2: We will do question ten anyway.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Question ten nothing sucks the air out of the room
- 40:53Speaker 1: like early win Man.
- 40:55Speaker 2: Question ten. The topic is conservation. According to a twenty
- 40:59Speaker 2: twenty three Wall Street Journal article, this new type of
- 41:03Speaker 2: mining used five hundred and ninety one billion gallons of
- 41:07Speaker 2: water last year's see if maybe Steve can win by
- 41:11Speaker 2: three instead of just two. Run up the score a little.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Maybe he'll just win by one. According to a twenty
- 41:17Speaker 2: twenty three Wall Street Journal article, this new type of
- 41:20Speaker 2: mining use five hundred and ninety one billion gallons of
- 41:24Speaker 2: water last year. Brody, you have this one right? Does
- 41:31Speaker 2: it really matter? Just trying to fill the airwaves with
- 41:35Speaker 2: something besides that ticking clock? Brody, it was.
- 41:39Speaker 6: Explaining symbios to some mutualism a little more.
- 41:42Speaker 2: Would you like that?
- 41:43Speaker 1: Well? You know what, I think it wouldn't have done
- 41:45Speaker 1: anything for you, man, because like had too.
- 41:49Speaker 2: If we gave you that point, Well, maybe you'd get
- 41:50Speaker 2: a perfect game here, Steve. Maybe you could argue, well,
- 41:53Speaker 2: that's what I'm gonna chack because it's like a legacy.
- 41:55Speaker 1: It's a legacy thing at this point.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Okay, is everybody ready?
- 41:58Speaker 1: And aren't you short by doing that? Aren't you short
- 42:00Speaker 1: change in the conservation group? We are that this is
- 42:03Speaker 1: about everybody right on game show where conservation gets short changed?
- 42:07Speaker 2: Go ahead into revel. We have Rich saying fracking, Sam
- 42:12Speaker 2: saying crypto, bitcoin, whatever it's called. Koran sang fracking, Randall
- 42:17Speaker 2: sang hydraulic fracture, Steve saying hydraulic fracking, Garrett sang hydro
- 42:23Speaker 2: mining stuff, Yanni saying fracking, Brody saying fracking. The correct
- 42:27Speaker 2: answer is bitcoin or crypto curtains. Steve doesn't get his
- 42:33Speaker 2: imperfect game either. But we had Rich and Sam get
- 42:36Speaker 2: that was good.
- 42:38Speaker 1: I was like, why are you calling fracking?
- 42:40Speaker 2: New Bitcoin miners use water directly to computle their computer
- 42:44Speaker 2: servers and indirectly by drawing power from gasing fire power plants.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Bit environmental have been especially concerned that the US bitcoin
- 42:54Speaker 2: capital is in Texas, a state already faced with water shortages.
- 42:57Speaker 2: It's estimated that bitcoin mining in a Maria uses enough
- 43:01Speaker 2: water for three hundred thousand households each year.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Man, I wish that that was a good one. That
- 43:06Speaker 1: redeemed you off that other one. That was a good question,
- 43:12Speaker 1: and I thought to myself, fracking has been around a
- 43:15Speaker 1: long time.
- 43:15Speaker 2: A couple hints it's new mining, and the Wall Street Journal.
- 43:19Speaker 1: That was a great question. Man, that's that's where he
- 43:21Speaker 1: that's what butters his bread?
- 43:22Speaker 6: Right?
- 43:23Speaker 1: Thank you questions like that.
- 43:25Speaker 2: As the winner with eight correct answers, you get to
- 43:27Speaker 2: choose where the five hundred dollars donation from meat eater goes.
- 43:31Speaker 2: What's it going to be?
- 43:32Speaker 1: I would like my five hundred dollars donation to go
- 43:36Speaker 1: to the National Wild Turkey Federation, only because this morning
- 43:41Speaker 1: I was eyeballing my turkey calls in the butter tray
- 43:44Speaker 1: of my fridge, wondering how they were doing in there, okay,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and I meant to grab them out, but like I said,
- 43:49Speaker 1: I keep forgetting ship and never grabbed him out.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Does the butter tray also house butter? Or is it
- 43:54Speaker 2: just turkey turkey calls and butter? Okay?
- 43:57Speaker 1: Good by keeping this isn't its only a private container?
- 44:00Speaker 1: In there, and if not, I got to hit Phelps
- 44:02Speaker 1: up for some new ones. But I'm hoping those are good.
- 44:04Speaker 6: Will you explain that?
- 44:07Speaker 3: Well?
- 44:07Speaker 1: Why you put him in there? Yeah, because you know't
- 44:09Speaker 1: when I'm going, you know what I'm getting all hot.
- 44:13Speaker 1: Just gives him a stable, dark environment.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Steve puts him in there in case there's a house fire,
- 44:18Speaker 2: he won't lose his.
- 44:20Speaker 1: Did they get too dried out or that they get
- 44:23Speaker 1: too hot which leads to that, So just a stable
- 44:26Speaker 1: generally dark. I mean, my kids leave the fridge door
- 44:28Speaker 1: open for like twenty minutes at a time, but generally,
- 44:34Speaker 1: you know, I don't know. Even Phelps says to do.
- 44:36Speaker 2: That, Richie. Well thanks, Richie. How did you get right
- 44:40Speaker 2: five or six? Well, you got the crypto one right that.
- 44:48Speaker 2: I'm sorry the odds and you had multiple questions where
- 44:53Speaker 2: you were the only one to get it right.
- 44:55Speaker 8: I have weird information in my brain.
- 44:57Speaker 6: Sam is also the biggest CrossFit for in in here too.
- 45:01Speaker 8: I'm the only one that crossed.
- 45:03Speaker 1: Yeah, no, Krin used to be big time.
- 45:04Speaker 8: Oh yeah, I.
- 45:06Speaker 6: Don't.
- 45:07Speaker 1: Locally.
- 45:08Speaker 8: That's why I am the one in here. That's why
- 45:10Speaker 8: I'm even in here, because I'm the only one in
- 45:12Speaker 8: the office that doesn't.
- 45:13Speaker 1: Which gym do you go to?
- 45:14Speaker 8: It's called True Spirit Crosspit. It's a small gym.
- 45:18Speaker 3: We went to CrossFit Bowsman this morning and then Highly
- 45:21Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 45:21Speaker 4: We went to both of these Highlight.
- 45:23Speaker 1: Yeah. So yeah, you guys went to both of them,
- 45:25Speaker 1: which dropped in.
- 45:26Speaker 3: They use our programming and so both those gyms are
- 45:30Speaker 3: Mayhem affiliates. Is what our gym is Crosspit Mayhem and
- 45:32Speaker 3: we do programming for people, so they follow our programming.
- 45:35Speaker 3: So said, hey, stop in super nice people.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Yeah, well done, Rich the fittest man on Earth, and
- 45:41Speaker 2: you can play formally formally.
- 45:43Speaker 8: I thought we'd get some Crosspit questions.
- 45:45Speaker 2: Now you got a question about I've got to buy
- 45:50Speaker 2: some farm.
- 45:50Speaker 1: So that was a bone farm. Yeah, there you go.
- 45:53Speaker 1: So two bone, two bone, double two bones.
