- 0:38Music.
- 0:48She's a happy girl.
- 1:02You have Jesus. the Son of God, fighting your battles.
- 1:06So it is very important that you keep the faith and hold strong to your beliefs in Him.
- 1:12There is no reason not to believe in Him because He is worthy of your trust.
- 1:17He can fight for you because He knows exactly what you are going through.
- 1:21Join us in this program, Praying with Confidence, as Kim Miller of Woman at
- 1:26the Well Ministries takes us through Hebrews 4, 14-16, which says,
- 1:30Seeing then that we have a great high priest,
- 1:34that is passed into the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
- 1:40For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our
- 1:44infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
- 1:49Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy
- 1:54and find grace to help in time of need.
- 1:57Hello and welcome to this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries.
- 2:01I believe that as different things have happened in my life,
- 2:05I have probably had verses in the scripture that has been more important to
- 2:11me at that time than perhaps at other times.
- 2:14But at no time in my life has this verse not been one of the most important verses to me in my life.
- 2:21It is an amazing honor that every child of God has that the Son of God would
- 2:30bid you come boldly to his throne.
- 2:35You know, oftentimes in this world, we find ourselves in need of something.
- 2:40And when we need to ask a family member or need to ask a friend or a neighbor
- 2:47or perhaps you have to ask a co-worker or you have to ask a boss,
- 2:51oftentimes when we make that request, we make it very timidly because we don't
- 2:58feel like that person's going to receive that request in a way that allows us
- 3:04to feel comfortable to ask.
- 3:06Other times we know that if we ask whatever it is we need to ask that they're
- 3:12going to feel like they're putting they're put out or it's going to in some
- 3:17way inconvenience them.
- 3:19And even though your need is great, you still feel this sort of angst when you
- 3:25come towards them to ask them for that request that you so desperately need.
- 3:30But when you come to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords,
- 3:36when you come to your Savior with a request as a child of God,
- 3:43a full privileged member of the family of God, you can come boldly and make that request.
- 3:54Because you have the right to stand before an almighty God because of the finished
- 4:03work on Calvary that Jesus Christ has done for each and every person.
- 4:09And every believer has received from Christ the blood of Jesus that has washed
- 4:19away our sins though they were scarlet or now white as snow.
- 4:22And we have received the pardon and forgiveness of sin, and he has imputed in us his righteousness,
- 4:30which the blood of Christ applied to our heart that forgives us of our sins
- 4:36is the very blood that makes us part of the family of God.
- 4:41And as members of the family of God,
- 4:44in Hebrews chapter 4, beginning in verse 14, we are given this picture of what
- 4:51Christ allows every believer to have when they come to the throne of God.
- 4:57He first tells us why it is we would come to the throne of God.
- 5:01And he says, because we have a high priest that is passed into the heaven, Jesus, the son of God.
- 5:10Jesus came to earth walked
- 5:14among us lived as we did was tempted like as we are but was without sin and
- 5:21he went to the cross of calvary fully intending and absolutely completing the
- 5:30bearing of yours and my sins on the cross.
- 5:34And he placed himself enmity with God because God couldn't look upon sin and
- 5:41he bore upon himself the sins of the entire world.
- 5:46You and I have never felt what it's like to be rejected by an almighty God.
- 5:54In fact, we live the exact opposite scenario. Every day the Holy Spirit is wooing
- 6:02us and trying to get us to see Christ for who he is.
- 6:07But on the cross of Calvary, Jesus Christ bore our sins, placing himself in
- 6:14a place where his father God was unable to look at him.
- 6:19Because he could not look upon sin. Which is why every person must come to Christ
- 6:27and understand who he is in the form of his Savior and receive his redemptive grace.
- 6:34Because you can't be in heaven with God and not have your sins forgiven.
- 6:40So Christ on the cross of Calvary bore our sins.
- 6:46And he is the high priest that we are able to come to. and he ever liveth to
- 6:53make intercession for us.
- 6:56And he is always what allows us to have access to the throne of God.
- 7:03And so in this beginning part of Hebrews chapter 4 verses 14 through 16,
- 7:09we are given the confidence of why we come to Christ in prayer.
- 7:15And then we are given the encouragement to hold fast our profession.
- 7:24See, don't pray with wavering.
- 7:28Don't be wishy-washy about who Christ is in your life.
- 7:33But stand in full assurance that he is the one and only true God.
- 7:38That he is the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
- 7:42Stand firm in knowing that he loves you and that in him you are perfectly complete.
- 7:50That he has fully washed you
- 7:54that he's fully regenerated you that
- 7:57you are sanctified in christ you're justified
- 8:01as if you'd never sin and he enables
- 8:05you to stand worthy of the
- 8:08calling that is upon your life and worthy
- 8:11to be called a child of god
- 8:14not because of you not because of what
- 8:17you've done but because of the finished work of
- 8:20calvary because of what christ has done
- 8:22and because of what christ has done in you
- 8:26this passage of scripture he
- 8:29quickly tells us who christ is and gives us that admonition to affirm who he
- 8:39is in our life and realize that christ Christ doesn't just love us.
- 8:47The Bible says, casting all your care upon him, for he careth for you.
- 8:53To realize that Christ isn't just able. He is the one true God. He is the great I am.
- 9:01But that he is willing to hear our cry and to supply our every need.
- 9:10It's coming to God and understanding who he is, realizing that he understands
- 9:18exactly what you're going through and felt exactly what you feel.
- 9:25And so when you come to him to make your request, Yes, you have every reason
- 9:30to be confident that he is able, that he is willing, and that he cares.
- 9:40And as he further tells us that he conquered the very battles we are failing at and falling.
- 9:50Because though he suffered and though he experienced the things we experience, he never sinned.
- 10:02And so he tells us, for all of these reasons, when you come to the throne,
- 10:08which he's bidding you to come, he says, come boldly.
- 10:12When you come to me and he's telling you to come, come in full assurance.
- 10:18Come in full confidence don't be
- 10:21timid don't be wondering but come
- 10:25and stand in the full authority that
- 10:28a child of god has to make the request
- 10:31made known unto god so that the peace of god
- 10:34can fill your hearts and minds through christ jesus
- 10:37that you may obtain mercy and
- 10:42find grace in a time of
- 10:45need when you come to the lord in
- 10:49faith believing in full confidence of
- 10:52his love for you in full assurance of
- 10:57he of who he is then you can
- 11:00come and pray knowing that
- 11:04the effectual fervent prayer of a
- 11:07righteous man availeth much you
- 11:11see me and you the children of god we have
- 11:14a hope in this world that those who have not received him as savior don't have
- 11:20and in such we should walk about with a witness that shows that we know we are
- 11:29not hopeless for we have hope in jesus Christ.
- 11:32That we know we're not helpless, for we have help in Jesus Christ,
- 11:37to know that we're not alone because he will never leave us nor forsake us,
- 11:43to know that the best is yet to come, for eye hath not seen and ear hath not
- 11:48heard what lies in store for them that love him.
- 11:51We need to come boldly to the throne of God, that we may obtain mercy and find grace in time of need.
- 12:01We as Christians, not only should we pray, but we should pray with confidence.
- 12:07We need to know who he is in our life. We need to take advantage of the resource
- 12:13of being able to come to him in good times, bad times, easy times, hard times, all times.
- 12:20For the scripture says that we are to pray without ceasing.
- 12:24It's not just saying some words. It's not memorizing some lyrics.
- 12:29It's pouring your heart out to the Lord, understanding fully and wholly that
- 12:35he will hear you, he will answer you, and that Jesus loves you.
- 12:41Know it, believe it, and pray it.
