- 0:20Speaker 1: Finally get up and model. Yeah, even I noticed you're
- 0:25Speaker 1: not wearing a T shirt. I'm not. I didn't get
- 0:27Speaker 1: the memo you think you're better than everybody. I love
- 0:31Speaker 1: when he breaks out as Jackie Mason. I don't know
- 0:33Speaker 1: where I think he's in the same tier as But
- 0:35Speaker 1: just because he's maybe two spots lower than him, isn't
- 0:37Speaker 1: really that big of a difference. Twenty seven These four
- 0:39Speaker 1: tiers who tore from the day he was born his
- 0:44Speaker 1: father like room, my god. He literally watches nothing but
- 0:52Speaker 1: the Patriots. This is me yesterday. Like I'm like, who
- 0:54Speaker 1: this Bryce Young's pretty, this guy's smooth. I get it.
- 0:57Speaker 1: It's I'm making fun of myself. Stick around if you
- 0:59Speaker 1: want to chan to win a Patriots Unfiltered T shirt
- 1:02Speaker 1: that Evan's not wearing. This is Patriots Unfiltered, fueled by Duncan.
- 1:10Speaker 1: All Right, Welcome to Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:14Speaker 1: at Gilette Stadium and we're watching Paul and I the
- 1:18Speaker 1: combine in the background, our own no socks and brad
- 1:22Speaker 1: amos from our video crew, so I don't see Bradley.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Yeah he just passed through, but um, yeah, no socks
- 1:31Speaker 1: knowing where the cameras are as lays lays. But our
- 1:35Speaker 1: crew is, our crew is at the combine and so
- 1:39Speaker 1: stay tuned with Patriots dot com for all the Combine
- 1:42Speaker 1: news as it relates to the Patriots. And uh, Deuce
- 1:45Speaker 1: will be calling in I think around one o'clock, so
- 1:48Speaker 1: he'll give us a live update of what's going on
- 1:51Speaker 1: over there. Uh. Paul and I are here in studio
- 1:55Speaker 1: with Matt Evan and Deuce are in Indie along with
- 1:59Speaker 1: no Tamaris not I don't know where she is, um,
- 2:03Speaker 1: but the rest of our crews out there and we're
- 2:05Speaker 1: covering the Combine from a Patriots perspective. Obviously. I just
- 2:10Speaker 1: saw Nick Assario was at the podium. We saw Josh
- 2:14Speaker 1: McDaniels earlier at the podium, and uh, you know, I
- 2:19Speaker 1: think based on what he said, didn't kill the Matt
- 2:22Speaker 1: Patricia going over there news. Um, so that could say, yeah,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I mean that was the first the first press conference
- 2:28Speaker 1: I heard this morning. UM was Sean Payton and he
- 2:31Speaker 1: was asked a couple of questions about Matty p and um,
- 2:35Speaker 1: you know, Peyton was very complimentary of him, Um, you know,
- 2:38Speaker 1: talked about his work with the Patriots. But then there
- 2:41Speaker 1: was a follow up, you know, basically saying, you know,
- 2:44Speaker 1: so is this not closed? The door not closed to
- 2:48Speaker 1: him and he's in the way. Peyton explained that he
- 2:51Speaker 1: wanted to continue to talk to Vanish Joseph. Obviously you
- 2:54Speaker 1: want to make sure the defensive coordinator is okay with
- 2:57Speaker 1: the potential role. Um, but that he's you know, he
- 3:01Speaker 1: was it very impressed with his interview as a very
- 3:03Speaker 1: bright guy, and they wanted to look and so was
- 3:06Speaker 1: it a New England media person who asked the question.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I couldn't make out the voice of the woman who
- 3:13Speaker 1: asked the question. The follow up question was definitely a woman.
- 3:16Speaker 1: And I don't I didn't see it and I was
- 3:18Speaker 1: watching it, but you just watch the podium, you don't
- 3:21Speaker 1: see the people asking the questions. So I didn't. Yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 1: I you know, I thought that, you know, when the
- 3:29Speaker 1: announcement was made with Bill O'Brien, I thought there was
- 3:31Speaker 1: a good chance that Patricia would stay and go back
- 3:34Speaker 1: to the role that he was before twenty twenty two,
- 3:37Speaker 1: which was more you know, on a GM path, more
- 3:41Speaker 1: personnel scouting, you know, back office type stuff. But then
- 3:47Speaker 1: you hear like the growing influence that Matt grow has,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you know, has gotten over the last year, and you're like, oh, well,
- 3:55Speaker 1: maybe there isn't room for him to go back there,
- 3:58Speaker 1: So so maybe we shouldn't be surprised that he's out there,
- 4:03Speaker 1: you know, interviewing for other jobs. Um. And you know,
- 4:07Speaker 1: as as we talked about, it would be weird if
- 4:11Speaker 1: you know, all year Matt's here and you know, Matt
- 4:15Speaker 1: Patricia and all he's hearing is oh, the offense is
- 4:18Speaker 1: better and blah blah blah. And you know that's an
- 4:21Speaker 1: uncomfortable situation for both sides. Yeah, I agree. And you
- 4:25Speaker 1: know the other part that leads me to believe that, um,
- 4:27Speaker 1: there's there's some more than just some smoke. Um, you
- 4:31Speaker 1: know with that for that is um. Right after they
- 4:35Speaker 1: went away NFL Network went away from Peyton, they went
- 4:37Speaker 1: to their anchor desk and and was Ian Rappaport immediately saying, um,
- 4:42Speaker 1: I believe the terms that he used were a role
- 4:45Speaker 1: something like senior defensive assistant or you know, slash associate
- 4:51Speaker 1: head coach, which I thought was kind of specific for
- 4:53Speaker 1: something that was just kind of being you know, um,
- 4:56Speaker 1: you know, off the top of the head. So I
- 4:58Speaker 1: think Ian maybe um in the loop there, um that
- 5:01Speaker 1: that that's in the plans. It sounded like, uh, and
- 5:05Speaker 1: and Peyton talked you know, in in you know, in
- 5:08Speaker 1: positive terms about Vance Joseph, Matt Patricia and Rex Ryan,
- 5:11Speaker 1: who also interviewed for that job. It sounded like he
- 5:14Speaker 1: just wanted to sort of run it by Vance Joseph
- 5:17Speaker 1: just to make sure, you know, there was no ruffled
- 5:20Speaker 1: feathers there or anything like that. So interesting, you know,
- 5:24Speaker 1: so we're already getting some Patriots related news out of
- 5:26Speaker 1: the combine. Uh. Yeah. And Josh McDaniels, Uh, you know,
- 5:31Speaker 1: really I thought pretty strong on Billy O'Brien. Yeah, just
- 5:35Speaker 1: what he saw when they were together. You could see
- 5:38Speaker 1: he was a guy who was cut out for the
- 5:39Speaker 1: NFL right away. And yeah, you know, so I think
- 5:42Speaker 1: he thinks Mac Jones is in good hands. Yeah, so
- 5:44Speaker 1: today his coaches and head coaches and gms uh talking. Uh,
- 5:51Speaker 1: they'll do a little bit more of that tomorrow and
- 5:53Speaker 1: then you know, when the focus turns to the players. Yeah,
- 5:58Speaker 1: and there's more head coach and GM stuff tomorrow too. Um,
- 6:02Speaker 1: but you're right tomorrow in earnest it will go to uh,
- 6:06Speaker 1: you know, the player's perspective starts off with defense this year,
- 6:09Speaker 1: which is a little bit of a flip flop for
- 6:11Speaker 1: what they normally do. Ye. Um, so maybe they maybe
- 6:14Speaker 1: they saw that like a lot of people left the
- 6:16Speaker 1: combine early. Yeah, and they're trying to keep attending. I
- 6:19Speaker 1: wouldn't be surprised by that at all. They might, Um,
- 6:23Speaker 1: it might be an effort to do it that way,
- 6:25Speaker 1: but it might also be an effort to make it
- 6:26Speaker 1: more equitable for the defensive players because I think that
- 6:30Speaker 1: media is probably still gonna leave. Yeah. I read an article,
- 6:33Speaker 1: um uh it was one of the national reporter is
- 6:37Speaker 1: talking about how the player union has been complaining over
- 6:41Speaker 1: the years because you know, with the NFL network taking
- 6:45Speaker 1: kind of over the the combine, like there's been workouts
- 6:49Speaker 1: late at night and stuff like that, it's just not fair. Yeah.
- 6:52Speaker 1: And one of our companies around here, local Noble, has
- 6:58Speaker 1: taken over the common bind is presenting sponsor and whatnot,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and evidently as part of that they're building a pretty
- 7:06Speaker 1: significant workout facility with the players too, you know the
- 7:11Speaker 1: way that they sort of described this, And I saw
- 7:14Speaker 1: Ben Voland actually wrote a little about this over the week.
- 7:16Speaker 1: It might have been Voland that I was reading. Yeah,
- 7:18Speaker 1: he talked about you know, a lot of the players
- 7:20Speaker 1: were like sort of relegated to hallways and whatnot to
- 7:23Speaker 1: warm up for like you know, forty yard dashes and
- 7:26Speaker 1: things like that. So yeah, I think that's probably a
- 7:29Speaker 1: better situation. But my thought was, if they're gonna build
- 7:35Speaker 1: a sort of state of the art kind of facility
- 7:37Speaker 1: for these players to work out in inside the convention center,
- 7:41Speaker 1: does that mean the Combine staying in Indianapolis? A good question,
- 7:45Speaker 1: because there has been some talk about moving in around
- 7:48Speaker 1: the venue. Yeah, unless what Noble is building is kind
- 7:51Speaker 1: of mobile, you know, it's just like a set that
- 7:53Speaker 1: are stuff that they can just move wherever. I don't know,
- 7:57Speaker 1: I have no idea. The other thing I thought was
- 7:59Speaker 1: interesting that we've heard this before that the players associations
- 8:04Speaker 1: complained about, and I guess now they have to agree to,
- 8:06Speaker 1: is that teams can't ask those weird questions that Yeah, yeah,
- 8:11Speaker 1: I guess that was in a memo trying to crack
- 8:14Speaker 1: down on some of that stuff. You know. Yeah, I
- 8:19Speaker 1: forget which team got in trouble a few years ago
- 8:21Speaker 1: for asking about a player's mother. Yeah, I think it
- 8:25Speaker 1: was Dez Bryant's, wasn't it. It might have been. Yeah. Yeah.
- 8:28Speaker 1: So so that's going on now, and Douce will be
- 8:32Speaker 1: calling in around one o'clock, he said, with an update. Yah,
- 8:37Speaker 1: And I guess Nick Kissario, you know, recently finished his
- 8:40Speaker 1: and didn't have many New England ties to that, so um,
- 8:45Speaker 1: you know, you just kind of you you'd look at
- 8:48Speaker 1: a lot of these guys and you, you know, well,
- 8:50Speaker 1: he was here, he was here, he was here, and
- 8:51Speaker 1: you know, looking for sort of Patriot flavor from some
- 8:55Speaker 1: of that. But a couple of give you a couple
- 8:56Speaker 1: of nuggets that I had that I didn't necessarily think
- 8:59Speaker 1: rose to the level of writing a separate post about
- 9:02Speaker 1: Freddie Um, the general manager in um Denver, who spoke
- 9:10Speaker 1: shortly after Sean Payton. George George Patton or Peyton. I'm
- 9:15Speaker 1: not sure how to pronounce. His name is pat O
- 9:18Speaker 1: and is that Patton Patone? It could be I'm not
- 9:22Speaker 1: positive how to pronounce. He's been there for a little
- 9:25Speaker 1: while um he um, you know, sort of talked about
- 9:28Speaker 1: Jerry Judy a little bit. Who's a guy that Um,
- 9:32Speaker 1: they're still deciding whether to pick up his fifty er option, right,
- 9:35Speaker 1: So if they don't pick up the fifty er option,
- 9:37Speaker 1: that would potentially, to me make him a more viable
- 9:40Speaker 1: trade candidate because it would sort of indicate that maybe
- 9:44Speaker 1: the Broncos aren't sold on him. But they he indicated
- 9:47Speaker 1: they're very happy with him, and that's something they're going
- 9:49Speaker 1: to be discussing in the future. Um. Another one was
- 9:56Speaker 1: Omar Kahn, who was the new general manager in Pittsburgh
- 9:59Speaker 1: who took over for one of our Andy and I
- 10:03Speaker 1: all time favorite Kevin Colberg. In Pittsburgh does a draft
- 10:07Speaker 1: like Kevin Colbert, right, and I thought he was really
- 10:10Speaker 1: good at it. And Omar Karn talked a little bit
- 10:13Speaker 1: about Adrian Clem. Not a whole lot there, um, you
- 10:17Speaker 1: know from the time that that Clem was in Pittsburgh.
- 10:20Speaker 1: Just said, you know, he enjoyed his time with Clem,
- 10:23Speaker 1: and I thought he was a really good person and
- 10:26Speaker 1: enjoyed talking about his family and whatnot. But not really
- 10:29Speaker 1: a whole lot of substance there in terms of this
- 10:31Speaker 1: is what you're getting as an offensive line coach. And
- 10:33Speaker 1: you know who knows, Patriots still really haven't announced that,
- 10:36Speaker 1: so I guess that's reportedly other Patriots news. Devin mccordy
- 10:40Speaker 1: was on Good Morning Football? Is that what it's called? Yes? Okay,
- 10:44Speaker 1: I got that right. Okay, Um his obviously his brother
- 10:49Speaker 1: is on that show, Jason, but um made some news
- 10:52Speaker 1: talking about mac. Um. I called it a Patriots Nation
- 10:55Speaker 1: pep talk because you know, if you were worried about, like,
- 11:00Speaker 1: you know, what his teammates think about him, I think
- 11:02Speaker 1: Devin MCCORDYUM gave you some optimism there. Yeah. I'm not
- 11:06Speaker 1: worried about what his teammates think of him. I'm worried
- 11:08Speaker 1: about what his coaching staff thinks about understand. But yes,
- 11:11Speaker 1: that's half of it right there. Yeah, I think that
- 11:14Speaker 1: I'm not surprised to see the players speak, um, you know,
- 11:19Speaker 1: on his behalf. Um, that's interesting stuff. I think that's
- 11:23Speaker 1: probably gonna be what you and I are going to
- 11:25Speaker 1: talk about for most of this show. Is is that
- 11:28Speaker 1: kind of stuff? One last thing, Um Combine related that
- 11:33Speaker 1: I think is of interest to Patriots fans, not necessarily
- 11:36Speaker 1: the Patriots specifically, but I don't know if you saw this.
- 11:39Speaker 1: Freddy Um Leslie Fraser, the defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills,
- 11:44Speaker 1: decided to take the year off. Yeah. I have a
- 11:47Speaker 1: little bit of a different take on this. I think
- 11:49Speaker 1: it's a good a good thing for Buffalo. I think
- 11:54Speaker 1: that he has come up smallest in the biggest games.
- 11:56Speaker 1: Yea as the defensive coordinator for the Bills. Um. Right now,
- 12:00Speaker 1: it looks like Brandon Bean when he spoke, said there's
- 12:03Speaker 1: a possibility that they're just going to leave the defensive
- 12:06Speaker 1: play calling duties to Sean McDermott. Yeah, I think that
- 12:09Speaker 1: would be an upgrade. So you wonder if he was
- 12:12Speaker 1: if it was his decision for him, Like he's like
- 12:16Speaker 1: Frasier says he's coming back to coach in twenty twenty four.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Bean didn't say whether or not that would be in Buffalo, right,
- 12:23Speaker 1: but it sounded like the doors open for him in Buffalo.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I think Frasier may be going through some person situation. Um.
- 12:30Speaker 1: You know that I have no idea about. But um,
- 12:33Speaker 1: I think they're on the surface. You say, wow, Buffalo
- 12:35Speaker 1: is losing their rough, their defensive coordinator. You know, here
- 12:38Speaker 1: we are in almost March you're saying it could be subtraction.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Is I don't think it's a I don't think it's
- 12:43Speaker 1: a great thing for Buffalo, But I don't think it's
- 12:46Speaker 1: a it's a terrible thing either, because, like I said,
- 12:48Speaker 1: I think in the playoffs and in big moments, big situations,
- 12:52Speaker 1: they haven't come up big. Yeah. Um, and they have
- 12:55Speaker 1: I think the talent to have a better defense than
- 12:58Speaker 1: they've they've shown. Um. So that that was another Patriots
- 13:02Speaker 1: related item that came out of the Okay combine this morning.
- 13:05Speaker 1: All Right, anything else I'm going around, like league wide
- 13:08Speaker 1: or anything that we should just put on the table. Oh,
- 13:11Speaker 1: Marcus Mariota was released in Atlanta. Oh and um there
- 13:15Speaker 1: was the Orlando Brown junior is available? Is that correct? Well,
- 13:20Speaker 1: he's gonna be a free a. He's gonna be a
- 13:21Speaker 1: free agent, Okay, because I heard them talking today that
- 13:25Speaker 1: someone wrote the highest rank tackle depending free agent, and
- 13:30Speaker 1: someone wrote this morning that the Patriots are going to
- 13:33Speaker 1: sign him. Oh I didn't see that. Yeah, that was
- 13:36Speaker 1: talked about on one of your shows. That'd be a
- 13:38Speaker 1: drop dead stunner. Yeah. Um, I had never heard that before,
- 13:44Speaker 1: and it could may not be true, but that's what
- 13:46Speaker 1: they were talking about this morning. Yeah, one of your writers,
- 13:51Speaker 1: that's twenty plus million annually. Yeah, that just don't think
- 13:55Speaker 1: that would be something the Patriots would be doing. But okay, yeah,
- 14:00Speaker 1: twenty play I wrote that. I wrote down these numbers
- 14:02Speaker 1: a while ago. Orlando Brown. A lot of people are
- 14:05Speaker 1: projecting at twenty Why are they letting him go? And
- 14:09Speaker 1: maybe he doesn't want to resign there I don't know. Yeah,
- 14:11Speaker 1: all right, okay, maybe they're not letting him go. Maybe
- 14:15Speaker 1: they'll just franchise him. That's true. Um, I'm trying to think.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Who else did they mentioned today? Um, not necessarily that
- 14:24Speaker 1: the Patriots were going to sign, but just people, you know,
- 14:29Speaker 1: possible moves around the league we still haven't heard about.
- 14:32Speaker 1: I give you a possible guy that I that I'm interested,
- 14:34Speaker 1: not as like that number one guy at wide receiver,
- 14:38Speaker 1: but Giants are gonna let go of Kenny Galladay. That's
- 14:41Speaker 1: the one on the first day of the league he
- 14:43Speaker 1: was I was reading that morning. I have no illusions
- 14:46Speaker 1: that Kenny Galladay is gonna step in and be that
- 14:50Speaker 1: A J. Brown. He's not that guy anymore. Um, he's not,
- 14:53Speaker 1: you know. But but I do think there's a chance
- 14:56Speaker 1: that he could, he could give you a higher level
- 14:59Speaker 1: of talent and you have, yeah in that in that room,
- 15:02Speaker 1: especially if you lose Jakobe Myers. Yeah, well I was
- 15:04Speaker 1: just gonna bring that. Speaking in wide receivers, Mike Reis
- 15:07Speaker 1: had a you know, some information this weekend on Myers.
- 15:12Speaker 1: And you know there's another item that Mike Reas had
- 15:15Speaker 1: that remind me of when you finished with the Myers
- 15:17Speaker 1: you know what he could possibly getting, uh uh? In
- 15:20Speaker 1: terms of salary, I think it was like the sixteen
- 15:23Speaker 1: million range. Six Yeah, I mean, anybody has him around
- 15:26Speaker 1: fifteen million. Mike had it between fifteen and twenty, right, Um,
- 15:30Speaker 1: I don't think it'll get to twenty, but I think
- 15:33Speaker 1: fifteen is reasonable. Yeah. Yeah, I mean if you look
- 15:36Speaker 1: at his his production, it's it's right on par with
- 15:40Speaker 1: guys that mean like Hunter Renfroe just got sixteen and
- 15:45Speaker 1: now he's all produced Hunter render now the problem. So
- 15:49Speaker 1: you know, we all love Myers, right, and we think
- 15:52Speaker 1: he's he was probably the most consistent minde receiver the
- 15:55Speaker 1: team had no probably, but if you do go out
- 15:58Speaker 1: and get a a true number one, how much does
- 16:02Speaker 1: his production go down? As now you paid him sixteen
- 16:08Speaker 1: or fifteen million or whatever, and then you signed this
- 16:11Speaker 1: number one and now he's not getting the same production
- 16:13Speaker 1: he had before, right, I not necessarily. First of all,
- 16:19Speaker 1: I'm not sure that the production will go down because
- 16:21Speaker 1: I think the style that he has is going to
- 16:23Speaker 1: be conducive to catching a lot of a lot of balls,
- 16:26Speaker 1: much like when you know Welker and Edelman weren't the
- 16:30Speaker 1: number one guys, they still caught the most passes. Yea, yea,
- 16:34Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But I don't. But I
- 16:37Speaker 1: don't see him as being that quick, get open kind
- 16:41Speaker 1: of guy that Edelman and Welker were myers. But he is.
- 16:45Speaker 1: He gets open like they do ye as quickly. Yeah,
- 16:48Speaker 1: I mean he's he's a possession receiver. Yeah, who catches
- 16:52Speaker 1: eighty five balls? Yeah, Like I mean, I don't know.
- 16:56Speaker 1: This gets back to my my my itch that I
- 17:00Speaker 1: that I scratch every once in a while about they
- 17:02Speaker 1: need a slot guy. So this gets me to Mike
- 17:04Speaker 1: Reese's other item, which he had today. Evidently the Patriots
- 17:07Speaker 1: have plans. I don't know if it's already happened or
- 17:09Speaker 1: if it's going to happen today of working out Slade Bolden,
- 17:14Speaker 1: the former Alabama West Welker slash Julian Edelman type who
- 17:20Speaker 1: you know, everybody I'm sure would much rather see than
- 17:24Speaker 1: Jacobe Myers, even though I don't think that he'll be
- 17:27Speaker 1: that kind of a guy. But he's an undersized inside
- 17:31Speaker 1: slot guy who Bill O'Brien used at Alabama a lot
- 17:34Speaker 1: like he tried to use Wes Welker, Right, So evidently
- 17:38Speaker 1: there's some interest there. Guy wasn't really even in the league. Yeah,
- 17:43Speaker 1: I mean, knowing the way the Patriots operate, there's probably
- 17:48Speaker 1: some people in the room, you know, saying, let's not
- 17:52Speaker 1: pay this guy sixteen million, Let's just start over with
- 17:54Speaker 1: another guy, because, like Paul Perilla says, they're just loose change. Yeah,
- 18:01Speaker 1: they at least have to be NFL players. Yeah, he
- 18:03Speaker 1: wasn't one last year. Um yeah, no, No, that's that's
- 18:09Speaker 1: that's a fair like snark at me. No question, I
- 18:13Speaker 1: think less of those guys than most. I think. Maybe
- 18:19Speaker 1: I'm gonna be proven wrong in this. I think continuing
- 18:22Speaker 1: to try to model your offense in that way as
- 18:24Speaker 1: a mistake because you don't have Tom Brady. That's first
- 18:28Speaker 1: and foremost. But that would be true no matter what
- 18:30Speaker 1: you tried to model your offense like, Yeah, I think
- 18:33Speaker 1: in this day and age, unique guys to make place.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I think teams will let you throw the ball underneath
- 18:38Speaker 1: all you want. You're not gonna beat me that way.
- 18:41Speaker 1: This is the way they look at it now. Yeah. Um,
- 18:44Speaker 1: like Tom Brady had one of his lowest average per
- 18:48Speaker 1: attempts last year of his career. Yeah, million completions you know,
- 18:53Speaker 1: through for a lot of yards again like he always does.
- 18:56Speaker 1: They couldn't score and they couldn't win games. Yeah, they
- 18:59Speaker 1: couldn't score points because they couldn't get the ball consistently
- 19:02Speaker 1: down the field to Godwin and Evans the way they
- 19:04Speaker 1: had in the past. In my opinion, Yeah, I just
- 19:08Speaker 1: I just feel like it's a tough way. It's a
- 19:12Speaker 1: tough way to play offense to just rely on that guy,
- 19:15Speaker 1: especially if you don't have to do Now, if you
- 19:17Speaker 1: want to add that guy to Randy Moss and his
- 19:20Speaker 1: prime on the outside, that's different, right, that's different. Yeah,
- 19:24Speaker 1: you know, you just have to have that threat. You
- 19:26Speaker 1: have to have a big play threat, you know. Yeah.
- 19:29Speaker 1: And I found it interesting that I listening to a
- 19:32Speaker 1: couple of the the gms, you know, they're always asked
- 19:35Speaker 1: those generic you know, you know, I'll talk about this class.
- 19:37Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on this class? What positions are strong?
- 19:40Speaker 1: And I heard a lot of guys talk about tight
- 19:42Speaker 1: end being very deep, cornerback being very deep, and pass
- 19:47Speaker 1: rusher m Brandon Bean was one of them that used
- 19:50Speaker 1: those three positions. But so you wonder if if it
- 19:55Speaker 1: turns out to be I think there are some options
- 20:00Speaker 1: at fourteen. And what I hate is, you know, also
- 20:04Speaker 1: a lot of these guys agree there's not a tremendous
- 20:06Speaker 1: amount of blue chippers to use you a term, okay, right,
- 20:09Speaker 1: not a ton of blue chippers. So what does that
- 20:11Speaker 1: mean If there's not a lot of blue chippers? Rade down? Okay,
- 20:15Speaker 1: why doesn't it mean trade up? So you get one
- 20:17Speaker 1: of them? But there aren't any but there are some. Yeah, well,
- 20:21Speaker 1: I guess blue chipper is in the eye of the beholder.
- 20:24Speaker 1: But my point is there's never been a draft without
- 20:26Speaker 1: any blue chips. Yeah, so if there aren't a lot
- 20:29Speaker 1: of them and you're at fourteen, if you can get
- 20:31Speaker 1: up into the top ten, maybe you can get one. Yeah,
- 20:34Speaker 1: I'm not even but everybody was with you. Well, that
- 20:37Speaker 1: means they're trading down, and you're probably right you're probably right.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I agree. Yeah, Well, especially if teams are undervaluing the
- 20:46Speaker 1: top tier guys and they're willing to take less to
- 20:49Speaker 1: get out of it because they just don't think the
- 20:52Speaker 1: market's there for these players because they're not Blue Chippers.
- 20:55Speaker 1: Maybe maybe the move is to go up and you know,
- 20:58Speaker 1: get a you know, have to give away a little
- 21:01Speaker 1: less than you normally would, right, you know, I don't know,
- 21:04Speaker 1: so yeah, I mean just the it's it's just starting. Yeah,
- 21:08Speaker 1: but we and I had some fun this morning monitoring
- 21:11Speaker 1: some of this crap. All right, eight five five pats
- 21:13Speaker 1: five hundred is the eight sticke at hot Line. Eight
- 21:15Speaker 1: five five pats five hundred. A lot of a lot
- 21:18Speaker 1: of electricity last show because we're giving away our T shirts.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And Derek Carr's actually in Indie meeting with the Saints,
- 21:28Speaker 1: the Jets, and the Panthers. Wow, which is kind of
- 21:31Speaker 1: rare for a veteran. Yeah. Um, yeah, I heard that
- 21:34Speaker 1: the Jets are hot in his heels, you know. I
- 21:37Speaker 1: think the Jets are trying to protect themselves in case
- 21:39Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers doesn't ultimately leave Green Bay, which some people
- 21:43Speaker 1: think this is going to end the same way it
- 21:45Speaker 1: did last year, and he's not gonna end up going anywhere.
- 21:47Speaker 1: I mean, if I kind of feel for Green Bay
- 21:50Speaker 1: fans like I like, I would be going nuts if
- 21:53Speaker 1: I was a fan right now. But would you be
- 21:55Speaker 1: going nuts wanting him to leave? It would be it
- 21:58Speaker 1: would be love hate. Yeah, that's how it would be.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Love hate. I'm so done with him. I want him,
- 22:03Speaker 1: but I hate the way he's acting. You know. That's
- 22:06Speaker 1: the way I would be as a green Bay fan
- 22:07Speaker 1: because this talent is undeniable. You know, Are you a
- 22:10Speaker 1: better team with Aaron Rodgers? Yes? You know. Is there
- 22:14Speaker 1: someone else that you're gonna get that's gonna be as good? No?
- 22:18Speaker 1: You know. So it's that's the the conundrum that Green
- 22:22Speaker 1: Bay's going through right now. But yeah, we we did
- 22:26Speaker 1: give away some T shirts last show. We'll give away
- 22:28Speaker 1: a couple more this show. At some point we'll do
- 22:31Speaker 1: some trivia questions. First person who emails web radio at
- 22:35Speaker 1: Patriots dot com with the correct answer, we'll get the
- 22:38Speaker 1: T shirt. I did get some complaints though, We got complaints. Yeah, well,
- 22:42Speaker 1: you're catering to people who you know who listen to
- 22:46Speaker 1: the show. Yeah, And I said, yeah, I mean the
- 22:49Speaker 1: first T shirts are going to go to our loyal
- 22:51Speaker 1: listeners over the year. I'm sorry, but at some point
- 22:54Speaker 1: we'll have more generic and we can have some more um,
- 22:58Speaker 1: more recent yeah stuff. Yeah, but those are too easy,
- 23:03Speaker 1: I think, you know. Yeah, well, I mean they're not
- 23:05Speaker 1: really meant to But we can also have some non
- 23:07Speaker 1: related trivia questions too, So Paul, if you if you
- 23:11Speaker 1: have any good you know, Patriots non show related trivia,
- 23:15Speaker 1: we can also throw those in two to give everyone
- 23:18Speaker 1: a shot. I'm not good, but a lot of people,
- 23:22Speaker 1: a lot of people took the questions that we asked
- 23:24Speaker 1: last week and actually did research. They went and looked
- 23:27Speaker 1: at tweets that we had or shows in the past,
- 23:30Speaker 1: and and found the answer on their own. Okay, you
- 23:34Speaker 1: know somebody also, someone actually referred to a curse chronicles
- 23:40Speaker 1: that I did in two thousand and one. I didn't
- 23:42Speaker 1: even know those were still available. Remember I used to
- 23:44Speaker 1: do those daily blogs from the Super Bowl, and uh
- 23:48Speaker 1: I mentioned Shane Donaldson and one of them, and he
- 23:50Speaker 1: got the answer from that Shane Olszo. Good stuff. Good stuff.
- 23:58Speaker 1: All right, Um, phone lines are light up. Let's get
- 24:01Speaker 1: over to the Ace ticket outline. We'll start with Eddie
- 24:04Speaker 1: in La what's up, Eddie? What's up guys? Thank you,
- 24:08Speaker 1: they're doing good. We're doing good. Thanks for Colin. I
- 24:12Speaker 1: wanted to talk about potential target for a wide receiver
- 24:16Speaker 1: to trade for. Okay, and it's not in the draft. Um.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I know that there's probably not word that he doesn't
- 24:24Speaker 1: want to be with this team anymore. But maybe like
- 24:26Speaker 1: the team is rebuilding and they feel like they need
- 24:29Speaker 1: other things, and maybe they don't think that this this, uh,
- 24:33Speaker 1: this guy that's in his rookie contract won't be here
- 24:36Speaker 1: the long term. Is Michael Pittman Jr. Okay, Yeah, would
- 24:40Speaker 1: he be a good potential trade target? Yeah, I think
- 24:43Speaker 1: you would. I think you would, Eddie. I think you
- 24:45Speaker 1: would also be a great piece for Indianapolis to try
- 24:49Speaker 1: to uh you know, turn this around, uh and and
- 24:53Speaker 1: put last year behind them for for the Colts. So
- 24:57Speaker 1: but yeah, I like I like that kind of player. Um,
- 25:01Speaker 1: and I think he would be a good addition for
- 25:03Speaker 1: the Patriots. So it's definitely worth looking into. Yeah, Okay, Yeah,
- 25:10Speaker 1: I mean I like that idea. I like the way
- 25:12Speaker 1: Eddie's thinking, you know, you know, go outside the box
- 25:15Speaker 1: and look at some guys that might be able to
- 25:18Speaker 1: you know, and maybe you might look at it and say, well,
- 25:20Speaker 1: Indy might have to strip. Indie's been trying to put
- 25:23Speaker 1: band aids on it, and maybe they've gotten to the
- 25:25Speaker 1: point where right now they're just saying, let's strip it
- 25:28Speaker 1: to the studs and start again. I wouldn't go that
- 25:30Speaker 1: way with Indie. I would never go that way with anybody,
- 25:33Speaker 1: because I don't think you need to do that in
- 25:34Speaker 1: the NFL, right right, you know, I think you can
- 25:37Speaker 1: kind of you get a few pieces. Yeah, yeah, um,
- 25:41Speaker 1: I mean the Gallady thing, you know, just reminded me
- 25:44Speaker 1: that you just never know who's gonna come available, you know, Yeah,
- 25:48Speaker 1: you know, a guy like that, he's a tremendous disappointment
- 25:51Speaker 1: with the Giants. Um that he was a good, big
- 25:54Speaker 1: free agent addition two years ago and he's done very
- 25:57Speaker 1: little right for them. So but then you look did
- 26:00Speaker 1: and say, Okay, you know, Daniel Jones did better last year.
- 26:03Speaker 1: But up until that point, you know, does Galladay have
- 26:07Speaker 1: the same excuse that a lot of people are giving
- 26:09Speaker 1: mac Jones? You know, like the people around like he
- 26:12Speaker 1: didn't have a quarterback? Most don't. I was laughing yesterday.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I talked to you a little bit about this um um.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Yesterday here in the office. Um so you talked about
- 26:26Speaker 1: Devin mccordy with his strong passionate defense of mac Jones.
- 26:30Speaker 1: I think he said something like if you think he's
- 26:32Speaker 1: not the future, you're wrong. I think was that was
- 26:35Speaker 1: the money quote that we all used in our in
- 26:37Speaker 1: our recaps um. And then at the same time, you know,
- 26:41Speaker 1: like there's been as you say, all the time. You know,
- 26:45Speaker 1: all these people on the radio that want him gone,
- 26:47Speaker 1: you know, the callers in the listeners, not the guy
- 26:50Speaker 1: that want him gone in Andy, our buddy bighead. You know.
- 26:54Speaker 1: So is it is it? Uh, you know, a passionate defense?
- 26:58Speaker 1: Is it? Is it the back or is it or
- 27:00Speaker 1: is it slander against against mac? Or you know, you know,
- 27:04Speaker 1: how does this look? Um? You know, because some people
- 27:08Speaker 1: are tired of the propaganda propping Mac Jones up. And
- 27:11Speaker 1: by some people, I mean like Adam Jones, yea who
- 27:14Speaker 1: the dark Knight himself, who's now on wei And then
- 27:18Speaker 1: people are looking at the bashing of mac Jones as slander.
- 27:21Speaker 1: So right now you've you've, you've you're in a mess.
- 27:24Speaker 1: It all depends on who you listen to and what
- 27:26Speaker 1: voices are in your head. I mean Adam, I mean what,
- 27:29Speaker 1: he's really good at what he does, but I hate
- 27:32Speaker 1: what he does. H Adam Jones. Like Friday, they were
- 27:35Speaker 1: talking about video that we came out with UM about
- 27:39Speaker 1: you know, the Shrine Game and the Patriots coach coaches
- 27:43Speaker 1: being there and all that stuff, and you know, our
- 27:46Speaker 1: narrator um mentioned you know players recently who have come
- 27:50Speaker 1: out of the Shrine Bowl, Kyle Dugger and uh Ouche
- 27:55Speaker 1: and you know, and didn't mention Mac Jones. Well, it
- 28:01Speaker 1: was an oversight on our part to not have Mac
- 28:03Speaker 1: Jones in that conversation. But when Mac Jones was there,
- 28:06Speaker 1: he had a sprained ankle. They didn't play in the game,
- 28:08Speaker 1: so I can understand why it was an oversight. But
- 28:10Speaker 1: of course Adam Jones, in his fashion, looked at it
- 28:16Speaker 1: as some conspiracy that it was, you know, a message
- 28:19Speaker 1: that the Patriots were sending. Mac Jones was at the
- 28:22Speaker 1: Shrine Bowl and not the Senior Bowl. I don't know,
- 28:24Speaker 1: but like that, See that was that's my pushback is
- 28:27Speaker 1: I thought our piece was about the Shrine Bowl. Well
- 28:29Speaker 1: that's where our coaches it was most I think Mac
- 28:32Speaker 1: Jones was at the Senior Bowl and didn't play there
- 28:34Speaker 1: because of an ancle. It could be, but ninety percent
- 28:36Speaker 1: of the piece was about the Shrine Bowl. Ten percent
- 28:38Speaker 1: of it was about the Senior Bowl because two of
- 28:40Speaker 1: our coaches were at the Senior Bowl. Cummington was over there,
- 28:44Speaker 1: you know, so they did mention that, and they might
- 28:46Speaker 1: have mentioned other players who'd come out of the Senior
- 28:48Speaker 1: Bowl in the past. I'm not sure. But either way,
- 28:52Speaker 1: either way, it was just an oversight. It wasn't like, oh,
- 28:56Speaker 1: the Patriots intentionally left him out to send a message.
- 28:59Speaker 1: First of all, football has nothing to do with the video.
- 29:02Speaker 1: We don't ever do that, you know, we don't ever
- 29:04Speaker 1: try to send messages. That's how you get fired, right,
- 29:07Speaker 1: We're not doing that. So, like, you know, I listened
- 29:10Speaker 1: to your guy Adam Jones, and I was like, oh,
- 29:12Speaker 1: rolling my eyes. And poor Matt Smith, who you know,
- 29:15Speaker 1: is the producer of the thing, Like it's like, oh, shoot,
- 29:17Speaker 1: you know, I forgot to put him in now he
- 29:20Speaker 1: didn't say fudge, yeah, you know. Yeah, It's it's one
- 29:23Speaker 1: of those things that we always deal with and whenever
- 29:26Speaker 1: something like that comes out, it's always, well, you know,
- 29:29Speaker 1: the team website doesn't have a defensive coordinator listed, and
- 29:33Speaker 1: you know, like that's not always because you know, some
- 29:38Speaker 1: edict from above. We're just doing, you know, the best
- 29:41Speaker 1: we can. We put together what I thought. You know,
- 29:44Speaker 1: a lot of people, there's a lot of positive feedback
- 29:46Speaker 1: on that piece. I know, Matt I thought it was
- 29:49Speaker 1: a great I know Mike Reese was very complimentary of it.
- 29:52Speaker 1: And I do want to say football because they did
- 29:54Speaker 1: give us Actball gave us a lot of access, you know,
- 29:56Speaker 1: so um, you know, but that doesn't mean that they
- 29:58Speaker 1: were telling us out Matt Jones. Hey, hey, hey, hey,
- 30:02Speaker 1: we're trying to send a message track Jones. We gotta
- 30:04Speaker 1: get him back back on track here. That leave him out.
- 30:07Speaker 1: That's the last thing they would ever do. And they
- 30:10Speaker 1: wouldn't ask us. They wouldn't ask us to do it. Yeah,
- 30:13Speaker 1: oh my god. So I just thought that was funny.
- 30:17Speaker 1: So you you were funny to you say, like, he's
- 30:19Speaker 1: very good at what he does, Adam Jones, But I
- 30:21Speaker 1: hate what does it like what he's doing right now
- 30:23Speaker 1: with the Bruins. Oh, he is a troll. I'll believe
- 30:26Speaker 1: it when they hand them, when they hit I won't
- 30:28Speaker 1: believe it until they hit him the Stanley Cup for you, Okay,
- 30:32Speaker 1: way to get out of there, and like like, so
- 30:34Speaker 1: so they can go through the entire regular season to
- 30:36Speaker 1: be the best team in hockey by a significant amount. Right,
- 30:39Speaker 1: they could go through all the through three rounds of
- 30:41Speaker 1: the playoffs and ultimately lose in the Stanley Cup Final,
- 30:45Speaker 1: and He'll say I would see right, I mean right,
- 30:48Speaker 1: Like that's unbelievable to me, you know, and I do
- 30:51Speaker 1: think it's funny. I don't, unlike a lot of other people,
- 30:54Speaker 1: I don't take this stuff um personally like. I just
- 30:57Speaker 1: think he often does the team with the record not
- 31:00Speaker 1: win at all a lot? What how like? You know,
- 31:03Speaker 1: but does not winning at all mean right that? This
- 31:08Speaker 1: is the argument I've always had with big Head is
- 31:10Speaker 1: you know what he labels as a failure of a season.
- 31:14Speaker 1: And I'm much more easygoing that, right, Like, like losing
- 31:18Speaker 1: to Philadelphia in the seventeen Super Bowl did not make
- 31:21Speaker 1: that season of failure, right to me? Losing in the
- 31:25Speaker 1: first round of the playoffs with a team like that,
- 31:28Speaker 1: like say in two thoy ten, that's more of an
- 31:31Speaker 1: argument to make as a failure, right, you know, like
- 31:34Speaker 1: that there are there are differences, like not every great
- 31:37Speaker 1: team wins at all. Yeah, and to me. Those who
- 31:41Speaker 1: call it a failure when you get close and you
- 31:42Speaker 1: don't do it don't realize how freaking hard it is
- 31:45Speaker 1: to get as far as you get. You know, it's
- 31:48Speaker 1: like the Celtics and Bruins right now are both playing great.
- 31:51Speaker 1: You know here in Boston. I know, you know, we
- 31:54Speaker 1: don't have a lot of Jess Boston fans that are listening.
- 31:57Speaker 1: But does that mean that there's seasons were waste of
- 32:00Speaker 1: time if they don't end up winning it all? Now,
- 32:02Speaker 1: if they get punched out in the first round, have
- 32:04Speaker 1: at it. Yeah, Like that's different, right, But you know
- 32:07Speaker 1: you're losing like the conference finals or the or the
- 32:10Speaker 1: actual finals. I mean, I'm sorry, that's a pretty good
- 32:14Speaker 1: run they took you on. I mean the Bruins, you know,
- 32:16Speaker 1: winning all these games, they are on pace to set
- 32:19Speaker 1: an all time record for points and wins. Yeah, and
- 32:22Speaker 1: if they lose in Game seven of the Stanley Cup Finals,
- 32:25Speaker 1: I'm supposed to say I can't believe I invested all
- 32:28Speaker 1: that time. Oh my god, But that's what people but
- 32:32Speaker 1: losing the first round of the playoffs, Yeah, and I'll
- 32:35Speaker 1: be saying, jeez, I can't believe I had face invested
- 32:38Speaker 1: all that time. That's a choke. That's a choke. I agree. Yeah,
- 32:42Speaker 1: Patty and agawam in the ACE ticket hot line. What's up,
- 32:44Speaker 1: Patty Gay, Hey, Hey Patty. So I gotta get kudos
- 32:49Speaker 1: to Paul. You're right Mac Jones within the Senior Bowl
- 32:52Speaker 1: and he got hurt and he heard his ankle in
- 32:54Speaker 1: practice that week and then he didn't play in the game. Yeah,
- 32:57Speaker 1: I'm giving credit to Fred for the ankle part because
- 32:59Speaker 1: I didn't remember that. Yeah, and I got it wrong,
- 33:02Speaker 1: I you know, but whatever, it was Shrine Bowld, both
- 33:05Speaker 1: games were mentioned in the piece, and you know there
- 33:09Speaker 1: was no message being said, I can guarantee you. I
- 33:14Speaker 1: just wanted to touch on a couple of things to
- 33:15Speaker 1: you guys that I kind of agree with Paul, where
- 33:18Speaker 1: they were to resign to Kobe and they went out
- 33:21Speaker 1: and got a quote unquote number one guy. I think
- 33:23Speaker 1: that that would increase his production because that would take
- 33:26Speaker 1: a lot of pressure off of guys like him, guys
- 33:28Speaker 1: like Hunter, Henry Gasp Johnny Smith. Maybe I highly doubt
- 33:34Speaker 1: the latter one. And yeah, I mean if if Fred
- 33:38Speaker 1: your scenario that you heard were they possibly might sign
- 33:42Speaker 1: Orlando Brown junior, if they don't franchise them. I would
- 33:45Speaker 1: move up and take the one guy that I really like.
- 33:48Speaker 1: I know, I said, there's no Saucer Darrell Reeves in
- 33:51Speaker 1: this class. But the guy I really like his Van
- 33:55Speaker 1: Witherspoon out of Illinois. He looks like he's there sort
- 33:58Speaker 1: of you know, in that he treat Muldus high Laws
- 34:01Speaker 1: to find Gilmore. Good press man guy. He just he
- 34:04Speaker 1: looks like he needs to add maybe like ten pounds
- 34:06Speaker 1: to his brain. But he looks like a player, you know. Okay, Yeah,
- 34:10Speaker 1: And like I said, a lot of these NFL decision
- 34:14Speaker 1: makers are talking about the depth of the cornerback position,
- 34:17Speaker 1: tight end, cornerback, pass rushers. I've heard that a couple
- 34:21Speaker 1: of times today. So yeah, I wouldn't be a I
- 34:24Speaker 1: think cornerback is a big need. I know. Like I
- 34:28Speaker 1: heard people on my station Freddy last weekend or early
- 34:33Speaker 1: m late late last week talking about eight wz. That's
- 34:39Speaker 1: ten thirty. But anyway, I heard Gasper and Mary talking
- 34:46Speaker 1: a little bit about you know, they've had a great,
- 34:48Speaker 1: great track record of developing corners, and I'm like, I
- 34:55Speaker 1: mean a great track right now. You could certainly point
- 34:58Speaker 1: to the undrafted guys. Sandel Gay Right, Randall Gay, No,
- 35:01Speaker 1: you can Randall Gay, Malcolm Butler, Jonathan Jones, j C. Jackson,
- 35:07Speaker 1: all undrafted guys who turned out to be good players. Now,
- 35:13Speaker 1: let's talk about what they've drafted at that position and developed. Yeah,
- 35:17Speaker 1: that's not so good. Wheatley, Oh Wheatley, will Hike, Duke Dawson,
- 35:23Speaker 1: Joan Williams, Cyrus Jones. That list is Jordan Richards, Tavon
- 35:29Speaker 1: Wilson did. Their list of second round defensive backs is abysmal. Yeah,
- 35:35Speaker 1: why do you think that is? I have no idea.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Why are they better with the undrafted guys? The undrafted
- 35:40Speaker 1: guys come in there, I would argue more. I would
- 35:42Speaker 1: argue that there's probably not a huge difference. It's just
- 35:46Speaker 1: your perception. Yeah, of what it got this undrafted rookie's
- 35:50Speaker 1: playing as opposed to you know, the second round. You know,
- 35:56Speaker 1: the second round draft pick is a part time player
- 35:58Speaker 1: right now. I think Malc and Butler and j. C.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Jackson were a lot better players than Tyrone, Tyrone Wheatley.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Terrence we is Terrence Wheekly, not Tyrone we are running back, Yeah,
- 36:10Speaker 1: Terrence Wheatley and you know, Duke Dawson. Yeah, but I
- 36:14Speaker 1: do think part of that is perception. I think you
- 36:16Speaker 1: think a lot more of the undrafted guys because they
- 36:18Speaker 1: were undrafted. Sure, Uh, all right, Patty? Is that it?
- 36:23Speaker 1: All right? Thanks? Let's go down to North Carolina. Todd's there.
- 36:28Speaker 1: What's up Todd? Hey, guys being hard to buy a
- 36:33Speaker 1: house these days. I tell you, Wow, it's a lot
- 36:35Speaker 1: of hoops. A well, it's always been a lot of hoops.
- 36:38Speaker 1: But also competition and all that, the price and all that.
- 36:44Speaker 1: I don't I don't envy you. Yeah, last called last week.
- 36:50Speaker 1: I called in and said, well, what do you think
- 36:51Speaker 1: would be like a sign of progress and trying to
- 36:54Speaker 1: move the team forward and stuff? And I actually thought
- 36:56Speaker 1: I should probably answer my own question because I think, really,
- 37:00Speaker 1: if they want to show that they're trying to turn
- 37:02Speaker 1: the page on last year, move forwards, give Mac jone
- 37:05Speaker 1: a chance. Like I'm not going to say whether I
- 37:06Speaker 1: like macdones or not saying I'm not going to get
- 37:08Speaker 1: into that whole thing. I just think he needs a
- 37:10Speaker 1: chance so the team knows what they got, whether there's
- 37:14Speaker 1: something there or not. They need to get rid of
- 37:16Speaker 1: Judge and they need to get rid of Patricia. They
- 37:19Speaker 1: need to start clean because there's just too much baggage
- 37:21Speaker 1: with those two. Well, I think that that would be
- 37:23Speaker 1: a sign that they're moving forwards. I really do. At
- 37:26Speaker 1: the very least, neither of them can have anything to
- 37:28Speaker 1: do with the offense. You know, I don't know. Even
- 37:31Speaker 1: the defense was complaining about them apparently well okay again
- 37:35Speaker 1: that's that's hearsay. I can't say it, but you know,
- 37:39Speaker 1: they were. They were over involved in stuff, and I
- 37:42Speaker 1: think that as long as they're there, there's a chance
- 37:45Speaker 1: that they could be a bit of a toxic situation.
- 37:47Speaker 1: You know. Bill's good at navigating things, but I don't know,
- 37:50Speaker 1: like this that bothers me. Yeah, I kind of feel
- 37:53Speaker 1: like Todd, we talked about this late last week. I
- 37:56Speaker 1: just wonder, you know, like these stories that are coming out,
- 38:00Speaker 1: are were they a couple incidents? Was it a thing
- 38:02Speaker 1: that happened every practice? You know, Like like I don't know,
- 38:06Speaker 1: I I no, I know, but you know, like I
- 38:13Speaker 1: just wonder, like what what's going on, Like is what
- 38:16Speaker 1: what kind of ship is Bill running these days compared
- 38:19Speaker 1: to what he used to run. I just wonder, you know,
- 38:22Speaker 1: and like, to me, one of the things they need
- 38:24Speaker 1: to do this offseason Besides, you know, building a team
- 38:27Speaker 1: is like and I'm not saying they should do an
- 38:30Speaker 1: investigation and who's leaking and all that, but it doesn't
- 38:33Speaker 1: matter who's leaking. They just need to put a stop
- 38:36Speaker 1: to it. They need they need to get everybody on
- 38:39Speaker 1: the same page and you know, um somehow, somehow and
- 38:44Speaker 1: just get rid of all that nonsense and Todd you
- 38:47Speaker 1: might be right. The way to do that is Judge
- 38:50Speaker 1: and Patricia are gone, so that you eliminate all any
- 38:53Speaker 1: of that. But I just think that that's one of
- 38:56Speaker 1: the big things that Bill needs to do this offseason
- 38:59Speaker 1: is get it everyone back on the same page, you know,
- 39:02Speaker 1: working towards the same goal. Yeah, I think, oh yeah, yeah.
- 39:07Speaker 1: I mean, by the way, yeah, do that too, Yeah,
- 39:09Speaker 1: get the players, But I think that it has to be,
- 39:12Speaker 1: you know, an all around effort. But anyway, great show, guys.
- 39:15Speaker 1: I love to give aways. Yes, I had two of
- 39:16Speaker 1: the answers, but my phone didn't work last week, so
- 39:19Speaker 1: and I was doing those things so away, all right, thanks.
- 39:23Speaker 1: You know, like, you know, going back to two thousand
- 39:26Speaker 1: and three when they got rid of Lawyer malloy, there
- 39:29Speaker 1: were a lot of people in the locker room that
- 39:31Speaker 1: weren't happy with that decision, you know, and then you
- 39:35Speaker 1: had the Tom Jackson his comment, Um, he didn't make
- 39:39Speaker 1: it up. I don't think Um, but Bill figured it
- 39:42Speaker 1: out how to. You know, winning helped, but you know,
- 39:45Speaker 1: he got those guys back to a mindset where you
- 39:48Speaker 1: could win. Um. And I don't know what. I don't
- 39:53Speaker 1: know how he did it, but it you know, it happened.
- 39:55Speaker 1: And that's kind of what he has to do now,
- 39:58Speaker 1: is it's just get everybody's mind right again. Well, you know,
- 40:01Speaker 1: do I think that that alone is going to be
- 40:04Speaker 1: a sign of progress. No, But I do think that
- 40:08Speaker 1: sends a message to those guys on offense that they
- 40:11Speaker 1: were heard. We heard you, okay, and right we're gonna
- 40:17Speaker 1: make sure even though we're not going to have them
- 40:19Speaker 1: on offense now looked at, Sometimes these things work themselves
- 40:22Speaker 1: out for you. And we opened the show talking about
- 40:25Speaker 1: Sean Payton talking about Matt Patricia. So maybe that part
- 40:29Speaker 1: of the equation worked itself out for you. You don't
- 40:32Speaker 1: have to do anything. Maybe Sean Payton hires Matt Patricia
- 40:35Speaker 1: and that's that's one of the two gone. Your point
- 40:39Speaker 1: is if Joe Judge is just not involved with the offense.
- 40:43Speaker 1: I do think you'd be better if he just wasn't around,
- 40:45Speaker 1: if they feel as strongly as it seems. This is
- 40:48Speaker 1: not me saying I can't have Joe Judge in my day.
- 40:51Speaker 1: But if the players feel like that that they were
- 40:53Speaker 1: done wrong by Joe Judge last year, then I think
- 40:56Speaker 1: it's better off for both parties ye to sort of separate.
- 41:00Speaker 1: But that alone isn't going to do anything. But I
- 41:03Speaker 1: do think it's a sign that the coaches heard the
- 41:06Speaker 1: complaints and they did something about it. Yep. Let's go
- 41:09Speaker 1: to Scott and Scott are you and Wellesley? Hey, guys,
- 41:14Speaker 1: how are you? Yes? Scotty? Yeah, that was a poor
- 41:17Speaker 1: attempt at spelling Wellesley Matt. Yeah, but anyway, it's a
- 41:20Speaker 1: Rhode Island attempt. Yeah, what's up, Scott? Not too much?
- 41:25Speaker 1: You know, Surprised when you're talking about busts in the
- 41:28Speaker 1: in the in the defensive background, you didn't include Rosie Dowling.
- 41:31Speaker 1: Yeah that's another one. There you go, that's another one. Yeah.
- 41:35Speaker 1: You know, I was worried about you, Fred because I
- 41:37Speaker 1: saw that they cut Quinn Norton and they knew how
- 41:39Speaker 1: excited you were about him last year. Comparing him to
- 41:43Speaker 1: Justin Tucker. He could really hit that ball. Yeah. Yeah.
- 41:50Speaker 1: The question what I wanted to call about essentially was, um,
- 41:53Speaker 1: you know, whether you think they should go for a
- 41:55Speaker 1: wide receiver with with the pick that they have a similarly,
- 41:57Speaker 1: don't trade down. You know, I like the kid from
- 41:59Speaker 1: US uh they Ahdison kid. I also let you know,
- 42:03Speaker 1: Mosch a little bit lower than him is the key
- 42:05Speaker 1: to Domini that Rose bowls from Ohio State. And then
- 42:09Speaker 1: but then you also look at some of the you know,
- 42:12Speaker 1: a lot of people are mocking cornerbacks to them there
- 42:14Speaker 1: and you but you'd like to think that go to
- 42:16Speaker 1: the offense first and maybe either get a wide receiver
- 42:20Speaker 1: or get an offensive Lineman's curious what you guys are
- 42:22Speaker 1: thinking that. It's It's like Paul said earlier, there's a
- 42:25Speaker 1: lot of ways they can go in this draft. Um,
- 42:29Speaker 1: and I wouldn't. I know, we get frustrated when they
- 42:33Speaker 1: trade down, But if they trade down, load up a
- 42:36Speaker 1: bunch of guys second third round, and get a wide
- 42:39Speaker 1: receiver late in the first round, I'd be okay with that. Yeah,
- 42:42Speaker 1: you know, and I like I like Addison too, like
- 42:45Speaker 1: Scott does a little bit more, but none of these
- 42:47Speaker 1: guys seem to be fourteen Yeah, I mean I know
- 42:51Speaker 1: that's the whole thing as well. Not at fourteen It's
- 42:53Speaker 1: just like, you know, I like Jacoby Myers, but not
- 42:55Speaker 1: at fifteen million. But then you don't like him. Yeah,
- 42:57Speaker 1: if you don't like if you don't like him for
- 43:00Speaker 1: he's supposed to be. Now, I just feel like they
- 43:04Speaker 1: have so many needs that they can go in a
- 43:06Speaker 1: lot of directions. Yeah. So you know, if the tackle
- 43:10Speaker 1: is the guy that they need at fourteen, fine, I
- 43:12Speaker 1: think the defense needs plenty of work too. I'm tired
- 43:15Speaker 1: of every time they play a reasonably competent offense, they're
- 43:18Speaker 1: on the hills the whole game, and that's what happens. Yeah.
- 43:21Speaker 1: You know, fortunately for the Patriots, they don't play that
- 43:24Speaker 1: many competent, you know, like high powered offenses. Yeah, hey, Paul,
- 43:27Speaker 1: do you think now that Bill O'Brien's do you think
- 43:30Speaker 1: he'll make a difference in terms of, like, you know,
- 43:32Speaker 1: going all the way back the Belichick and Parcels in
- 43:34Speaker 1: that whole tree is never really valued wide receivers. But
- 43:37Speaker 1: we're seeing now all these teams that are going far
- 43:39Speaker 1: have real weapons. And when I'm talking like you know,
- 43:41Speaker 1: I'd like c J. Kobe Myers come back, but he's
- 43:43Speaker 1: not a you know, he's not a waddle. He's not
- 43:46Speaker 1: you know, I agree a guy like that. So my
- 43:49Speaker 1: question is, do you think Belichick will ever change his
- 43:52Speaker 1: mindset in that regard and say, yeah, I needed justin Jefferson.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I'm wanting to take a guy in the middle of
- 43:57Speaker 1: the first round who's a wide receiver or do you
- 43:59Speaker 1: think he would trade down and take Jackson? Did? But
- 44:02Speaker 1: they kid I was talking about from Ohio State. I
- 44:05Speaker 1: don't know. I don't you know. I think that's a
- 44:07Speaker 1: great question and it's I don't have the answer to it.
- 44:09Speaker 1: I just think it comes down to money. Um always,
- 44:13Speaker 1: you know, like you say, well, you know they had
- 44:15Speaker 1: a two wide receiver one with Randy Moss, but when
- 44:18Speaker 1: they got him and they trade, he was that bargain.
- 44:20Speaker 1: That's what Scott's trying to say. Do you think that
- 44:22Speaker 1: they will ever change that mentality? I don't know. I
- 44:25Speaker 1: don't know. If they don't, they will be do them
- 44:26Speaker 1: to mediocrity, is my opinion, because because I think the
- 44:30Speaker 1: cap is getting so big that you can't compete without
- 44:33Speaker 1: paying for playmakers. Yeah, but if you look at the
- 44:36Speaker 1: first round last year, Lobby was you know turned out well.
- 44:39Speaker 1: Garrett Wilson was a great thick for the Jets, which
- 44:41Speaker 1: they're going to ruin when they signed car because the stinks.
- 44:44Speaker 1: But that's neither here nor there. I just think it's
- 44:47Speaker 1: time for them to roll the dice and get a
- 44:49Speaker 1: wide receiver. And even if mac Jones isn't the answer,
- 44:53Speaker 1: at least you have a guy who for five years
- 44:56Speaker 1: who's good. Yeah. I I'm not opposed to it. I
- 45:01Speaker 1: just don't know, Like like Fred said, I don't know
- 45:03Speaker 1: if there's a wide receiver that's among the best fourteen
- 45:06Speaker 1: players in the draft. Yeah, I mean the evidence is
- 45:08Speaker 1: out there. Like you said, Scott, that the teams that
- 45:11Speaker 1: are doing well in the league right now have that
- 45:13Speaker 1: true playmaker. Um, most of them also have a pretty
- 45:16Speaker 1: good quarterback too, but that's beside the point. Um, they
- 45:19Speaker 1: all have that true playmaker. So you know, it's it'll
- 45:23Speaker 1: be easier to get free agents on defense because they're
- 45:25Speaker 1: all say for us. I think there was some sarcasm
- 45:31Speaker 1: in that comment, right, All right, thanks Scott. Um, Let's
- 45:35Speaker 1: go to New Jersey. Eric's there. Hey, Eric, it's Eric
- 45:41Speaker 1: with a K. Maybe it's Scalavino. Yeah, not New Jersey.
- 45:44Speaker 1: Oh no, Eric, Yeah, Hey, how are we doing? Guys?
- 45:49Speaker 1: Um kind of want to friend. I really got to
- 45:53Speaker 1: push back on the Jakobe Myers uh situation. I mean,
- 45:57Speaker 1: I think it's just what bad teams do to stay
- 46:00Speaker 1: in the mediocrity here. Um again, I think he provides
- 46:03Speaker 1: more value to us than a team on the open market. Um,
- 46:07Speaker 1: no other team. I can't really name another team that
- 46:09Speaker 1: he's gonna catch seventy eighty balls? And again, why not?
- 46:12Speaker 1: Why not? But why does that the only way that
- 46:14Speaker 1: he would provide value? Because because he I mean, if
- 46:17Speaker 1: you throw the ball to him at ten yards, you're
- 46:19Speaker 1: gonna get ten yards. There's no yack, there's there's no
- 46:22Speaker 1: upside for yak on on on his ability. Now, I
- 46:24Speaker 1: think the guys, but that's not what I asked. I asked,
- 46:26Speaker 1: why would his value be lower if he doesn't catch
- 46:29Speaker 1: eighty balls? What if he makes more plays? What if
- 46:33Speaker 1: he creates more first downs? Well he's saying he can't,
- 46:36Speaker 1: but what But why why not? Is what I'm saying.
- 46:38Speaker 1: Why is he more valuable to the Patriots than anybody
- 46:41Speaker 1: Else's my question? I just think that he has are
- 46:44Speaker 1: we built him up when he's come he's come through
- 46:45Speaker 1: whatever quote unquote far he came up through the well,
- 46:48Speaker 1: let me ask you a question. The question I know,
- 46:50Speaker 1: but is he a seventy eighty r a catch player
- 46:56Speaker 1: on most other teams? Know why? And I'm asking why? Why? Compared?
- 47:03Speaker 1: I can name about literally a canna about thirty five
- 47:05Speaker 1: four receivers that, oh that are better than Jakobe marsh Again,
- 47:09Speaker 1: I think he's again he's consisted, But why is he not?
- 47:12Speaker 1: But why would he not have value if he doesn't
- 47:14Speaker 1: catch it? Eaty balls? So question, No, I think he
- 47:17Speaker 1: doesn't have He doesn't provide the same value as opposed
- 47:20Speaker 1: to see I disagree. I think I think if you
- 47:22Speaker 1: put him in Kansas City last year, he's a better
- 47:25Speaker 1: player for the for the Chiefs than he was for
- 47:27Speaker 1: the Patriots. That's a team that had no wide receivers.
- 47:31Speaker 1: They had they had no real answers at wide receiver.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Oh what we're knocking, we're knocking something tiles up, something
- 47:38Speaker 1: just fell on, hit me in the head. We got
- 47:39Speaker 1: we got we got wire issues sold on, we got wires,
- 47:41Speaker 1: got a workman's comp No, I think that you put
- 47:44Speaker 1: him on a team that has a competent passing game
- 47:48Speaker 1: but doesn't like and I think Kansas City is the
- 47:50Speaker 1: perfect example. Yeah, he's not going to catch with Travis
- 47:53Speaker 1: Kelsey catches, but I think he would have been in
- 47:56Speaker 1: line with with those other guys like Juju. I think
- 47:59Speaker 1: he's better than JR. Smith Schuster to be honest. Like again,
- 48:02Speaker 1: my my, my, I guess my issue with Jacobe. Like
- 48:05Speaker 1: I said, I love I love the story. Nothing is
- 48:08Speaker 1: nothing against Jacoby. I don't really care about the story.
- 48:10Speaker 1: I just care about the play. I think it's I
- 48:12Speaker 1: think it's great. But I mean as far as when
- 48:14Speaker 1: it comes to all terms for the football field, I
- 48:16Speaker 1: don't think that he provides too much. You throw ball
- 48:18Speaker 1: to him ten yards, you're not gonna get you know,
- 48:20Speaker 1: you need a thirteam. He's not gonna get you the
- 48:23Speaker 1: ext three xty yards. He's not going to provide that.
- 48:24Speaker 1: Yak over the account. Now again, I think these guys
- 48:27Speaker 1: like Jacoby his skill set, I think those are easily
- 48:30Speaker 1: there's a plug and play guys that you can pick
- 48:32Speaker 1: up off the scrap people. Again, just my first I
- 48:34Speaker 1: don't know if he I believe he can catch seventy
- 48:37Speaker 1: or eighty catches with another team, And I think that's valuable,
- 48:41Speaker 1: whether it's for the Patriots or another team. I think,
- 48:43Speaker 1: you know, an eighty catch receiver, you know, you know
- 48:47Speaker 1: who else, whether or not yak or not, you know
- 48:49Speaker 1: who else. I think you would have stepped right in
- 48:51Speaker 1: and been really good with seventy five catches Buffalo. Yeah, yeah,
- 48:56Speaker 1: they could have used that absolutely. Yeah, and and again
- 49:00Speaker 1: like this whole like he'll catch the pass at ten
- 49:03Speaker 1: yards and yeah, that's what slot receivers do. Slot receivers,
- 49:08Speaker 1: they get a lot of yak because they're only two
- 49:10Speaker 1: yards over the line when they catch the ball. Otherwise
- 49:14Speaker 1: they all average ten yards of catch. Yeah, they're not
- 49:17Speaker 1: guys that are going to get downfield and average fifteen plus.
- 49:19Speaker 1: I mean, West Welker was as prolific as anybody. Right,
- 49:23Speaker 1: what are you average? Like ten eleven yards of catch? Yeah,
- 49:26Speaker 1: he got a lot of yak, ye, but that's what
- 49:28Speaker 1: he averaged. All Right, we're gonna take a break, so
- 49:31Speaker 1: paulk and eat. I'm gonna eat two and I think
- 49:34Speaker 1: I might need to get stitches as well, but we'll
- 49:35Speaker 1: be right back after this. Verizon, the network America relies on,

- 59:05Speaker 1: have to, but I'd rather have something do it. I'd
- 59:09Speaker 1: rather have something. Tell you I was rooting from mahomes
- 59:13Speaker 1: and borrow to score every possession the other day. Yeah,
- 59:16Speaker 1: but yes, what I'd rather like been rooting against, you know,
- 59:20Speaker 1: like for a team and against another team. Yeah, because
- 59:23Speaker 1: that's how you watch games normally. Yeah, but I don't
- 59:26Speaker 1: have to have things like Patriots fans need to find
- 59:29Speaker 1: that I watch. I'm gonna I'm gonna give you the
- 59:32Speaker 1: nod now you know who. Okay, they'll root against the
- 59:36Speaker 1: Rams because they spend too much money and that's not
- 59:38Speaker 1: how you do it. So I'll guarantee you when if
- 59:41Speaker 1: they lose the Super Bowl you'll get the Mark Daniels

- 59:52Speaker 1: many they can win without any first round picks for
- 59:54Speaker 1: the next two seasons. That'll be mine. There it is.
- 59:56Speaker 1: It doesn't matter that, it doesn't matter. For five years
- 59:59Speaker 1: in a row, they've been in the playoffs. One games
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: on the playoff, the windows close. It's the way they've done.
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: It is wrong, good Mike, and that's the way Patriots
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: fans will take. So Fred says he likes the vitriol. Fine,
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: you're allowed to like the vitriol. The rest of us
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: who don't like the vitriol should be allowed not to

- 1:00:19Speaker 1: I know, whoever wins wins, I wouldn't care less. That's
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: a week. It doesn't have weak sauce. I don't necessarily
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: have a problem with you. Okay, So if you don't

- 1:00:49Speaker 1: hut line, Fred, do you have a very underrated skill?
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: What's that? When we have those arguments that you know,
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: you know they venture off into different engines. Yeah, you
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: have a way about you to always summarize them with
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: something very witty like that, oh splendid game. Wow. I
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: mean you're sitting across from somebody that just is a
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: wealth of material. You know. Well, that's like, you know,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Eric is like focusing on the vitriol. I'm like vitriol.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: I had no problem with that part of it, right,
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Like in that particular game, I wasn't really rooting against anybody, yep.
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: I was just rooting for a good game. That's the
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: way a lot of offense. That's the way I watched sports. No,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: it's not not all the time, um, speaking of vitriol. No,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: Deuce is on the line live from Mindy and what's
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: up Deuce? Hey, guys? How you doing doing pretty good?
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: A little bit of a slow start here today with
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: all the you know, a lot of the GMS and
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: coaches talking. So we'll very grateful for Paul. He's doing
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: a great job helping us to bang out the content.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: But yeah, I might have to cut back just letting
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: you know. Oh you've been all over it. It's been great.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: Um so yeah, it's it's been pretty good, pretty good
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: start so far. Yeah, so you know, give us a
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: scene center, what what you know? What are you seeing?
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: What are you hearing? Well? I mean, can I start
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: with the Saint Almo's night last night? Yeah? Absolutely, yeah, So,
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: I mean it was turning into quite the uh the
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: s show us as we keept adding people to the reservation,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: which which we had made earlier, I think of the
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: Initially the reservation was nine o'clock and then it got
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: all about to nine forty five at one point. Um.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: But then Michael Rundy and VP so Far just called
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: them and was like, hey, we got one more person,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: can we And they were like, oh, do you want
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: to add it and move it up to eight? And
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: we're like great. So we go there at eight and
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: I don't know if you guys ever got this, but
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: they put us in like this special room. Like you
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: right at the entrance, you like take a right and
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: then walk up the stairs and then you kind of
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: come around. So we had a private room. I've ever
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: been up there almost like yeah one year, one year,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: Indy and I were up there, um and there were yeah,
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: it was it was it was different. Did that was
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: that Peyton's old room? I know? I didn't mention that,
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: although although our waiter was obviously excellent and we had
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: quite some great back and forth with him about the
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: old Patriots could stays and putting. You know, the waiters
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: there are always amazing. Yeah. So what was the reaction
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: of the newbies to the shrimp cocktail? Oh? There was
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: some there was some explosion. We got some video, so
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: we'll come back with video. That nice. But but our
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: own Evan Lazzart couldn't get enough. I mean he was
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: like taking everybody else's shrimp. I think he has six
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: of them. Oh really, So that's that's okay with his
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: diet because I know he has a very particular diet,
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: that's right, Sure does? I guess I didn't. I didn't
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: get a full reports this morning, but it seems like
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: everything went to plan as hard. Were you not there? Oh? No,
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: I was there? Okay, So what do you need a
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: report for? I'm asking you guess everything went all right.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: You never know what happened when I got back to
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: you mean explosions a correct um. What about navy being soup?
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Anybody have Navy being soup? Couple couple Navy being soup.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I think Bradley was a fan of that. I definitely
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: had some of those who had the biggest steak. Oh
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: that's a good one. I think a lot of us
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: were a little in the smaller side. But maybe Neil, Neil,
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: Neil went for it. Okay, job Neil, all right fashions.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: I know, I know our listeners have no idea who
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: these people are, but yeah, well done, Neil. Yeah, but
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: uh but it was good, a good, good start to
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: the to the weekend. And then we you know, we've
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: just been here kind of floating, and did anyone get
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: the prime rib? I'm still on Saint Elmo, so we'll
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: move on to football in a minute. Yeah, okay, I
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: don't think anybody did get the prime rib, because that's
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: that is a hefty piece of meat they've got there. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: and it felt a little late, and we're gonna go
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: back there Thursday with it with one of you know,
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: Paul's specials, the like five thirty reservation, which I'm a
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: huge fan of. We're gonna eat nice and early, get
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: that steak down, and you're gonna double up on Saint
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: Almo five thirty. I don't want to eat at five thirty. Yeah,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: that's too late for you, Paul. Now, when you at
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: Saint Almo, did you see any celebrities anybody? Oh? Yeah, limited?
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: But but two two NFL NFL's finest uh I entered.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: Ciciliano and Adam Schefter were both there, so uh otherwise,
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: you know, and I think it was the first kind
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: of night, so maybe a little bit quiet was it
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: wasn't as overwhelming as it usually is when we're there. Yeah.
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: So when Schefter walks in, is he already carrying the
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: pails of water? Oh? I shouldn't say. Or is he
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: just on his phone? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, draped across his back.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: But but you know, Cicilia he was right at front,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: like right, you know, when you get there, I forget, yeah, right,
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: when you get there, right at the front spot of
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: the bar, like you can't vessel. Okay, all right, well
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: that's good. I'm glad you guys got Elmo out of
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: the way right away. So now you're not you know,
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: you can focus on football, yeaheah, oh yeah that's right.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: So yeah, but so yeah, getting into it. Um, I know,
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: you know, Paul wrote up a little bit about Josh,
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: very positive about Bill O'Brien, which was good, little surprising
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: to hear from Sean Payton about Matt Patricia you know
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: that stuff as well. So you know, just getting little nuggets.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: We've just got away from money Austin Fork, who didn't
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: really have much to say about DeAndre Hopkins, but you know,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: just said, hey, after playing against them, I'm glad that
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: we have the building. So um, nothing really there, but
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: Austin for it, also had some some positive words about
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: the Marcus Covington and just you know that they think
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: he's a really promising young coach and you know, has
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: a lot of really good traits. So you know, just
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: keeping an eye off for some Patriots nuggets. I mean,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: I gotta admit it's a little bit frustrating when you
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: see Sean. You know, we're sitting right next to right
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: next to the Bills team and the head coach is
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: sitting down with them, and you know, have it and
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: we don't know where our coaches are or anything. But uh,
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: you know, we're doing the best weekend. I hear you.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: All right, Um, so what's the plan for the rest
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: of today and tomorrow? Yeah, so we're gonna we're gonna
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: shoot a little video kind of wrap up things here
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: a little bit. I think today was a low day,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: So tomorrow we'll get into with the prospects, the defensive line,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: the linebackers not not probably the strongest class from what
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: you know you're kind of hearing from people around here.
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: So um, bullies into things, you know, talk to some
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: of the guys that play for the Patriots out in
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: the Shrine Bowl. Um, a couple of local products that
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: that we're looking forward to talking to you. And then
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: you know, just start start meeting these guys, seeing what
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: they're like in person. See, we've got an animody like
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: that guy we saw a couple of years ago, Paul
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: with the giant arms. I'm sure they'll be plenty of
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: those big boys walking. Oh yeah, oh yeah, tell Bradley
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: amos in no socks. They look good on NFL network. Yeah,
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: we're getting a good good amount of no socks. But
- 1:07:29Speaker 1: Bradley also made a cameo. Yep, I gotta just stay
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: on the air. Bradley is awesome. That guy is a
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: machine and he's doing everything necessary. Yeah, he is great. Yep,
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: all right, thanks Mike, thanks for calling in. Guys. We'll
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: talk to you Tuesday. All right, all right, Duce Mike
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: do So live from Indy with the update. I like it.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: Good stuff. Speaking of people who work here, someone who
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: used to work here, Megan O'Brien is on the line.
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: She wants to talk about eighty for Brady. What's up,
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Megan Morant? It's good. It's good to hear from you.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: What's happening? Hello from you, guys. I'm bum that Paul
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: is not in an indie. What are they gonna do
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: without him? There? Oh he's fine. Oh wait, you're not
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: an indie, are you? No? I'm actually headed to um
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: the Tampa Bay raised New York Yankees spring training game
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: right now? Oh Legends field? Wow? Yeah, no, it's over
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: at a Worldwide of sport. Oh okay, yeah, now Paul's here,
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: downing two leaders of dia PEPSI. Yeah, he's the one.
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: All right, good, not much just changed. So have you
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: guys seen eighty for Brady yet? No? No? Oh my god,
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: you really got it? Why I really don't. So listen,
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: we all know that my stance on Brady right like
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: he left us and decided I don't like him anymore. Ye.
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: So I reluctantly was to see eighty for Brady because
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: on my pcast we decided we're going to draw review
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: on it. I put it off to last minute. I
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: went last night at ten twenty pm alone and you guys,
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: I cried in theater. It was fantastic, is that right? Year?
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: It was phenomenal. The acting was great. It really like,
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: you know the thing we do at Dulight the day
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: of pampering? Are you being paid to say this? I
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: don't know what's happened to my niece. I will both
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: see it with you. It was great. I mean, I
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: know WWE is scripted, but this I don't know about
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: this because even Aaron came in yesterday and said it
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: wasn't that good? So good? How could you think it
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: wasn't good? It was about these women who were best
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: friends and cancer and how the team brought them together.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: It was really everything you just mentioned is a Hallmark movie.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: I'm not interested. I think you would love it, friend, Okay,
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: I might, I might. I'm only being you know, snarky
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: go on this like wild super Bowl trip, no accidents. Yeah, toombling,
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: Oh of course, very good. Yeah, okay, sounds like a
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: weekend at the Parlo House. Yeah wow. Um if when
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: it comes on cable, I'll definitely watch it. But I'm
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: not going to the movie theater to see that and
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: then tell me we could do a whole review. Okay,
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: I'm surprised you still have our numbers, honestly, you know, yeah,
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: I mean the fact that she still interacts with me
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: is like right, I'm so proud. Yeah. Well, Paul gave
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: me bad gambling advice recently on Northeastern month basketball, so
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: we've kind of been struggling. I told you not to
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: bet on Northeastern. It was bad about that um by
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: ten and nineteen. By the way, Megan, I really liked
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: your interview with the German wrestlers. Yeah, and I gave
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: you advice about not jumping onto the other and use
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: bandwagon And what's happened since I know they get ranked
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: and when they lost to Illinois and then the Maryland
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: it's blowing big leads too. I told you, Yeah, so
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: do you miss using? Do you miss us? You guys?
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: I miss you dearly, I really do. I missed talking
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: football every day. Yeah, I miss you too, you know
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: I miss you. I miss I miss your attitude, your enthusiasm. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: yeah I do. I you know. Yeah, you know, like,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: for example, going to eighty for Brady by yourself just
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: because you wanted to see it. I mean, that's not
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: everybody would do that. And now you've you've got it,
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: You've you can have an informed opinion on the subject.
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: Like that show you went to an indie that year
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: by yourself? What was that show that was a cabaret?
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: What was it? I went to a comedy show yea,
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: and Paul and Andy were making fun of me because
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: they said everybody coming out of the show was in
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: high school. This is true. I know it's hard to believe.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: But Paul and Andy were making fun of Megan. What
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: were you guys side spying on her? How do you
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: know who was coming on it? Because we were out
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: and about, Okay, I think we I think we had
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: plans to meet up for drinks after. Ye Well, Megan
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: that the hour in ticket, which is very unfortunate. Yeah,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: but it still exists though, right, Yeah, they still have it.
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: But you get drink tickets. This is at the hotel
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: that everyone stays. You can only have so many other words, right,
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: But I hear there's a lot of people who don't
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: use them that if you know the right people, you
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: can get extracts. I used to take it up so
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: I could save some money later. Oh yeah, sure, sure,
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: Well Megan, it's good to hear from you. Always good
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: to hear from you. Guys. We got to get to
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: a show Friday night, SmackDown next time we're in the area.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: Coming absolutely. And for those who haven't seen eighty for Brady,
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: Megan's review is positive review, five stars. You gotta go
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: see it. Not winning any awards, but it is in
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: my heart. Okay, all right, you were crying, You were
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: sobbing like a child's unreal. Ye all right, I don't
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: know what's happened to her. Yeah, I could. I traded
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: you better than this for different reasons. I spent fifteen
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: dollars on this, all right, Megan. We'll talk to you soon,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: all right, thanks for Carl. Appreciate it, mobi mate. Yeah,
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: she's just got great enthusiasm. She's really she's the best.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: She's just have too many bad days. Now that one nope,
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Marks and Bolton calling in on the stick and hot line.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: What's up? Mark? Hey, a few weeks ago I was
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: the trade doown guy and got a little pushback. Now
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: Bill Perry and everybody else on this trade doown bandwagon.
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, but anyway, but also, well one thing with
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: that though, I also said, you're not gonna get a
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: trade down unless somehow one of the four quarterbacks falls
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: to at fourteen, and I don't think it's very likely.
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: So I think the tradeown is really unlikely unless, you know,
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: unless one of those things happened. I don't know, but
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: I don't think it's it's all dependent on a quarterback.
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: That's a big piece though, Ye box right about that.
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: But you know, we traded down last last year from
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: where we were fifteen last year twenties. We were in
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: the twenties last we made the playoffs. Last year, that's right,
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: was the year before. We don't remember our success. The
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: year before we were when we picked Mac we were fifteen, fifteen,
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: and then we were I think we were twenty one
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: and traded down to like twenty eight or something like that. Yeah,
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: so so yeah, well anyway, that being said, um, but
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: once i'd like to see the patriot take a risk
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: with a wide receiver and go for like a type,
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: a flamboyant type. You know, I think that we're just
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: I think we'll take criminals or near criminals at cornerback.
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: But oh, we don't seem to want to do that
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: at a wide receiver. But what I mean, I don't
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: think they want to take criminals at any piece. Yeah,
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know. I thought that was an
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: interesting choice of words. Um, but like in terms of
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: but but Mark, hold on, I understand what you're saying.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: I'm not going to nitpick on the semantics like fred Wood.
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: I think it's fair. These are kids the like I
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: would take issue a little bit um by saying, like,
- 1:15:21Speaker 1: for once, I wish they would take a risk on
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: a wide receiver. And I think that's when they get
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: in trouble. Is that taking rid like I mean, Nikil
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: Harry was not you know, a safe pick at wide
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: receiver obviously. UM, I know what you're saying. You want
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: like a guy with a big personality. You know, you
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: said the word criminal, and I know that that's not
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: necessarily what you meant. You're talking about a guy who
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: garners a lot of attention and you know type a
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: you know, in your face kind of you know, cocky,
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: confident wide receiver. Right, that's what you're looking for. Yeah, okay, um,
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: you know I wanted in the trade down. I'm getting
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: off the subject, but well, we did have a kid
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: that knocked off a Panda express ye as a cornerback
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: yep um. And he's a player and I like him.
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: I think Jack Jones is a heck of a player.
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: So we'll see. Um, well, I wanted to get to
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: I got three players. I got three players that I
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: want I think that could change our offense that are
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: realistic in the draft. Um. And one of those is
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: talking to this you know, sort of controversial wide receiver
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: is Kashawn boot you know wide receiver LSU. I know
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: he's had some sort of he set them back and
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: forth with coaches. Um, and that's his sort of problem.
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: But yeah, he's a Deebo Samuel type six ft two
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: y five and he can play inside outside. Yeah, and
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: I think that you know, he's a guy I really like.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: Second guy six six two fifty five Oregon State type
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: then runs a four or five ish Luke Musgrave, Um,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: I think we need that new style, fight end and
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: get up the field, can get separation and can take
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: over the middle of the field. And last, but not least,
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: I think we need a third down back, traditional third
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: down back, and I like do spawn Kansas State, you know,
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: sort of a Darryl Sprowles five six, one seventy five
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: type player. So, um, I just those those are three guys.
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: They're not they're not huge names. Yes, they are all
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: three of the type players I can can do something. Yeah,
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: those are those are high profile players. All three. Boutet
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: is a guy who if heading into last year, was
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: even higher ranked. It's like, you know, they talked about
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: like Will Anderson, if he was came out of Alabama
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: last year, would have been the number one overall pick,
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: and you know now he's he's not going to go
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: number one overall. But those those are all good players.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: I just I just don't know how realistic it is
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: to like we're gonna get the the you know, the
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: best playmaking the you know, the best all around receiver,
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: the best playmaking uh tight end, and the best pass
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: catching running back. You know, they might be able to
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: get one of those guys. You can probably fourth round,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: fourth round pick yeah, so you don't think everybody else
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: wants to do that too. Well, I don't know if
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: he's I think I don't know someone gonna take him
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: in the third round. No, I'm saying the fourth like
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: he's a fourth round kind of guy. Third, fourth, fifth round. Yeah,
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: but like right, and we got the fourth pick in
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: the fourth round. Um, so I don't think that that
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: much of a stretch. I'm not saying it's a stretch.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: It's a stretch to get all three of them, is
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: what I said. Yeah, well, I'm not saying it's a
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: wretch to get duce Vaughn. Yeah right. I mean those
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: are not under the radar players. Those are high profile players,
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: all three of them, like to the point where I
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: know who they all are and I don't even do
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: draft research yet. Well I'm bold, Okay, Well, I mean
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: I'm saying, you know who they are, but not any
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: of them are projective first round. No, but we're not
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: talking about the first round comes. I think that, you know,
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: I think Musgrave could blow up the combine all right,
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: the other really high profile tight ends that are already
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: you know, yeah, yeah, all right, thanks for the call. Market. Well,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: I don't think I mean, I don't think they're going
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: to take a tight end at fourteen. So you're looking
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: at you know, I don't think. I'm not telling you
- 1:19:40Speaker 1: they won't. I don't think they will take a tight
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: end at fourteen. So you're looking at the Luke Musgraves
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: of the world, Like, you know, once you get second, second,
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: third round, you know, beyond the first round. Rashads in Baltimore.
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: What's up with Shad? Hey? What's up? What's up? Hey? Um?
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: All right, people, I start. I have to say the
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: the the argument last week that y'all had the um
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: the blue chip players, the blue chip player argument and
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: the back and forth, and then you then you at,
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: you know, telling Mike you know why you switching. I
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: loved all that y'all y'all had me. I had to
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: I had to step off. I had to step off
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: my desk at work because I was I was that
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: was just another class we could entertain. Good, good, That's
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: what's then our job was done that day? Correct? Great? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, perfect?
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: But um, I'm gonna I'm gonna go on the draft. Now.
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: Last week Evan was like, you know, if you if
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: you want a wide receiver, you know, put a name
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: on it. So, you know, like this past week and
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: I just been looking at players and I pretty much decided,
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: like I really think the Patrins should go corner or tackle,
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: Like I do want a wide receiver, but like I mean,
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: I think Evan Wright, like I don't. I don't think
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: it's nobody that works, you know, the fourteen unless we
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: trade back. You know, I don't even think they should
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: pick a wide receiver at fourteen. Not going to be
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: that number one guy. He'll you know, he he'll be good.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: But if you're going to pick somebody at fourteen and
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: that's a wide receiver, I want them to be I
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: want them to be a you know, justin Jefferson, you know,
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: somebody like that. But I've been looking at I've been
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: looking at corners, and I like the guy Deontay Banks,
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: you know, from Maryland. It's also this other pinner, Tyree
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: Stephenson from from Miami, and I was looking at this
- 1:21:27Speaker 1: is uh sas and stuff. It looked like he got
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: good man coverage to six. But so I'm like, you know,
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: if we don't get somebody, if we get a tackle
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: on the first round, we can get somebody like Campbell's
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: projected to go second third and then also, uh, I
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: like the quarterbacks from Alabama elive rick Um. I think
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: it's a it's another pointerer from South Carolina. I think
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: it's named Cam Smith or Sunting I was. You know,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: I'm just looking at players that I think the Patriots should,
- 1:21:54Speaker 1: you know, should pick on and not and not the
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: people that's like the Tayvorn Wilsons. You know, I don't.
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: I don't want to the people that's projected to go
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: lower and then want the name brand. Yeah. Yeah. And
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: I also want to say one more thing. I don't
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: want the Patriots to take a risk, like I want
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: them to take the small decision, Like I don't want
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: to take a risk. And then we got a Nikille
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: Hurry or you know, and Isaiah went, I want them.
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: I want them to take the right approach. Yeah, you
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: want that. You want the twenty twenty one draft and
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: not the twenty twenty two draft. In twenty twenty one,
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: they went for name brands to Alabama to Oklahoma in
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: the first four picks. I'm not a big like, that's
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: not how it has to be for me. Yeah, Like
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: I know a lot of people, you know, like I'll
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: take another Kyle Dugger. It's not a name brand guy.
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: I want them to pick good players. Well, yeah, I
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: know it sounds some place. Kyle Tugger was pegged to
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: go in the second round. Yeah, but most so was
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: a lot of the other guys they took Cold Strange. No,
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: that's not That's what I'm but But but if he
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: was good, I wouldn't have any problem with it. Right
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: he was. He was average at best and got yanked
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: out of three at least three games. But I'm just
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: saying that cold Strange was picked ahead of where he
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: was projected. You know. That's all. Yeah, you are correct,
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: that's all. Yep. But in Rashad is like, no, I
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: want the consensus. If he's our first round consensus, let's
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: pick him. If he's not, don't pick him, right, No,
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: I but that that to me is the more important part.
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: Like we picked Christian Barnwore because that's where you're supposed
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: to get taken, right, like, not because we went name
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: brand with Alabama. Yeah, I mean you know, in the room,
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: like if if they have any doubt, like if if
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: any doubt or like anything like that, then you should
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: move the you should move to the next player, you
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: should move to the next player. Yep, yep, I hear you.
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: All right, thanks for Sean. I appreciate the call. All right.
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: So I think, um, people are getting anxious here. Uh
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah. They want a chance to win a
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: T shirt. So I'll do one. I'll say the trivia question.
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: Uh it's show related. First person who emails the first
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: the correct answer to web radio at Patriots dot com
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: gets the T shirt and then you'll send Matt your
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: home address that we're in size so we can get
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: it out to you. So the question is, and this
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: is an easy one. Everyone should be able to get this.
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: So this is about speed. It's about speed, not knowledge speed.
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: What innovation has Fred been trying to impose on the
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: world of hygiene? What innovation has Fred been trying to
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: impose in the world of hygiene? Matt, keep an eye
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: out on the web radio at patriot dot com for
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: the first correct answer, and that person will win a
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: T shirt if you want. Already. Last week gives some
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: other people. This is one of the ones that I submitted.
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: And if this one takes a long time to get answered,
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: that that's something I think that's just poor to me.
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: I already have a winner, and who is the winner? Matt, Nice,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: Cody and Indian. All right, so you can stop answering
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: everybody because they're coming, they're flying in. But it is
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: Cody in Indiana was the first one. The answer is
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: soap with a slot of course. All right, so we've
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: got I'm gonna do two. I'm gonna do another one,
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: another one, and maybe we'll do one at the end
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: of the show as well. If we get another quick
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: response like that one, we could save one for a
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: little later. Okay, so I'll do one. Um, this one
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: goes back a little bit, but we recently talked about it,
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: so if you're a recent listener and you do keep notes,
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: you might know the answer to this as well as
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: our old timers who wrote, oh did I already do
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: this one? Okay? Who wrote the first PFW in Progress
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: theme song? Who wrote the first PFW in Progress theme song?
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: These are original songs. So that is the question. Let's
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: see if anyone comes in with that right away. If not,
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: I'll just let it go and up we do have
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: an answer. Wow, Wow, that was fast. That was fast. Matt.
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: Who's the winner? Andrew and Bradford Nice, Andrew Andrew in Bradford.
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: Is that uh mass, I guess I don't know. The
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: answer is, mister Lyff and he got it, all right,
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: so good, good job. We'll do one at the end
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: of the show as well, so keep listening. Um, but
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: UM love to give away these T shirts. So we've
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: also had a lot of people who said, you know,
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: I just want to buy one. Um. We are working
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: on getting them up on the Fanatics store. We'll so
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: the Patriots section of Fanatics keep an eye out there.
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: Looks like we'll have some T shirts for sale over there.
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: So wow, people, man, we had there's a lot of
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: people listening that don't call our email normally because my
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: email box is just full. Right, who is that something,
- 1:27:04Speaker 1: isn't it? Everybody wants free crap? Well, plus, it just
- 1:27:08Speaker 1: shows you how many more people are listening to us
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: than participate and participate. But that's fine. We don't all
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: just that. No, but that's a good thing. Yeah, that's
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: a good thing. Yea, all right, um, good stuff. All right,
- 1:27:21Speaker 1: So let's get to the emails that are coming in
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: that don't have anything to do with the T shirt.
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: Let's go to Sam in North Carolina. He writes, He
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: wants to talk about Mac. He says, why does it
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: have to be Mac is the guy? Or get rid
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: of him? He's on a rookie deal, didn't get a
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: fair shake last year, was a first round pick, and
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: there's not the next goat quarterback out there to acquire.
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: Let's give the guy a chance and we can move
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: on when the option comes due. I think this is
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: where most fans and media stand. I think that's a
- 1:27:55Speaker 1: really interesting way of looking at it, and I think
- 1:27:58Speaker 1: it's nuanced a little bit. I get what he's saying.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: Do you feel like that? Yeah? I think I think
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: I think if you were to poll, you know, do
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: another one of Paul's polls, most people I think would
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: be in that Caddie or lad give him a shot. No,
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: But I think that that's too we're arguing two different things.
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: I think he's saying, why does it have to be
- 1:28:20Speaker 1: he is the guy? Or we have to get rid
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: of him? Right, he's saying, even if you're sort of
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: in the middle there, why don't you just middle it
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: for a little while? Yeah, Okay, that's what he's saying. Like,
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: because I think if you if the day that you
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: think he's the guy, you want to do whatever you
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: can to lock him up. The day that you are
- 1:28:38Speaker 1: convinced he's not the guy, I think you need to
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: move on. Yeah, yeah, you know what I mean. I
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: do because you know what I think of. I think of.
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: And this is another one that's fairly topical. Yesterday Carson
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: Wentz was released by Washington. Right, So that's three teams
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: in three years that wash their hands of Carson Wentz, Philly, Indy,
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: and now Washington. If Philly had said there and said
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: we invested in this guy, look what he did for
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: us in twenty seventeen before he got hurt. He was
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: the you know, the presumptive MVP for a team that
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: was good enough to win the Super Bowl, and they
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: just decided to ignore all the warning signs and held
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: on to him. Then you don't get Jalen Hurts, and
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: you don't go back to another Super Bowl. Yeah no,
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: like in teams make that mistake. But and I think
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: like he was falling off a cliff right in front
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: of them right now. I'm not suggesting that Mac Jones
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: has played as bad as Carson Wentz. I don't believe
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: that to be the case. So don't attack me. But
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: I'm just saying that's the mentality. Like if you decide,
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: like like, if I'm in the middle of those two,
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: then I don't I need to look for another guy. Yeah,
- 1:29:46Speaker 1: I don't see how anyone could really honestly have an
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: opinion either way yet, Like, I can't see how you
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: could definitely definitively say he's the guy as much as
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: you could definitively say he's not the guy. I think
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: I don't have it. I don't know yet. You're probably
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: going to have another year. Yeah, and then my guess
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: is a lot of people will sort of middle it again,
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: and there'll be a lot of talk either way. I
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: think they'll be arguments either way. Yeah, And in my
- 1:30:17Speaker 1: point of view, I would be looking to move on
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: if that's the case, because, like I said, I think
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: it's pretty I think it becomes clear pretty quickly when
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: a guy is going to lift you. Now, I think
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: you can have a situation where the San Francisco model,
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: where you can surround him with eliteness all over the
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: place and you can get by. I don't think that's
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: a great way to go about business. I think that's
- 1:30:42Speaker 1: a hard, hard thing to do. Let's see Chris writes
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: in from New Hampshire, you got to get mac weapons
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: is a common refrain. I'm not expecting any major moves
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: with a mostly unchanged roster. I expect a slightly better
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: version of Max Ricky year. If that happens, what do
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: you do? QB and coach? I love Bill, However, what
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: have you done for me lately? If it's not better
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: than his rookie year, then you have a disaster on
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: your hands. He said it was slightly better. No, but
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: I'm saying if it's not better than you like three
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: years in, if you're not way better than you were
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: as a rookie, it's a disaster. Yeah. Yeah, Yeah, He's
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: got to be remarkably better than anything we've seen so far,
- 1:31:24Speaker 1: because it's you know, like even if Matt Patricia was
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: still his OC his third year, he should be better, right,
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: you know, let's see Neil and New Brunswick. Last week
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: someone jokingly asked about Billy oh unlocking John U. Smith. Well,
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: if you look at the contract, we'd better pray he does.
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: He's got tons of dead cap in a high salary
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: and no production, not good for cutting or trading. What
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: was built? Thinking on the contract if no unlocking happens,
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: it's one of the worst free agent deals in league history,
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: he says, So there you go. It just hasn't I mean,
- 1:32:03Speaker 1: it just hasn't worked. But Jonas Smith, he hasn't really
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: given him much at all. Yeah, Rich in New York
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: City says, what are your thoughts on Damian Woody's statement
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: that the Patriots being irrelevant has got to be eating
- 1:32:14Speaker 1: craft up? I think there's some truth to that. Absolutely,
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: who wants to be irrelevant? Yeah? I mean he's this
- 1:32:23Speaker 1: is a business first and foremost, and you know, you're
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: not going to have a good business in the NFL
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: if no one cares about you, and the worst thing
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: you can have is apathy, right you know? So Yeah,
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: I'm sure ros why a lot of people at the
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: time made a big deal of the Patriots getting flexed
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: out of that Sunday night game with the Raiders last year. Remember, Yeah,
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: that's why, because those kinds of things don't sit well
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: with people. Jay and Nappa. I want a freaking T shirt,
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: he says. If a guy who's been listening since OZ
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: three h four, not really or can't get a T shirt,
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: at least put on Fred and the lobster bisk for
- 1:33:04Speaker 1: the PFW from the past. It's a lobster what's the
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: lobster bisk? Didn't you argue whether or not that's a soup?
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: I don't know. I think there was an argument of
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: whether or not that soup it's soup has a ceiling.
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: I mean, it's it's kind of cloudy. But I think
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: you and that's definitely a you and Andy argument. Yeah,
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: I don't know if we said is bisca chowder or
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: a soup or you know, soup has a ceiling? Can
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: only be so good? That was an Andy ism, It
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: can only be so good? Oh right, I don't know. Wow,
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: you don't remember any of it? No, I do. I
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: know I love lobster bisk. So now I'm guessing that
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: that Fred's I mean that Andy was arguing with you
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: about whether or not it's a soup. Yeah, I do
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: love it matter. I do love a good lobster bisk,
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: no doubt, no doubt. Um. Christian the Cuban writes in
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: out of all the positions of need edge oats wide
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: receiver in cornerback, which would you say you want them
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: to acquire for the next year edge tackle wide receiver
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: or corner corner. Yeah, which do I want to draft
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: or you know, trade, draft or free agency? Which I
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: don't care. Yeah, I mean that's sort of a nuanced question,
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: which I like because it all depends on what you
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: think you can acquire. Now, if I had my choice,
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: like nothing, I'd like to trade for a wide receiver,
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: an established wide receiver. You want someone who can just
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: walk step right in. Yeah, yeah, yeah, But my guess
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: is that's not really realistic. You know. I know a
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: lot of people have talked about this before, but in
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: the modern NFL, more and more wide receivers from college
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: are just stepping right in. Yeah. That used to not
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: always be the way, but it seems more prevalent now
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: because the college game has changed. These guys are coming
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: in a little bit more, you know, uh NFL ready,
- 1:35:04Speaker 1: and the offenses are geared more towards what I agree
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: all around here. I think that's that's that's a good probably.
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: I mean, it might be simplistic, but I think it's
- 1:35:13Speaker 1: it's rooted in some truth. Um let's see who's this.
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: Anthony writes in and he says, if Josh, I'm assuming
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: he means Josh McDaniels is interested in Mac? Would you
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: deal him and a twenty twenty four second round pick
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: for the number seven pick? So you give the Raiders
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Mac and a second round pick for their number seven. Yeah,
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: you would do it. I would do that. And who
- 1:35:42Speaker 1: would you take? I don't know. Would you take a quarterback?
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: Depends on who's available. Let's say say none of them are.
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: I wouldn't take well then, so you know, but so
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: but but in other words, you would do this without
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: a guarantee that you're going to get a quarterback out
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: of the draft. Yeah, and then you just kind of
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: signed Jimmy Garoppolo or something like that. Yeah, okay, you
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: talked me into it with your hypotheticals, all right. You
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: then be in a position to take either Levis Is that?
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: Is that how you say? Yeah? Or Richardson as a
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: new quarterback of the future and maybe signed Jimmy g
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: or another veteran to play until the new quarterback is ready.
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: Would you rather do that or deal probably at twenty
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: twenty four first and fourth for t Higgins in roll
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: with Mac? Is that what it's going to take to
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: get t Higgins? Yeah? Probably something like that. Are you
- 1:36:36Speaker 1: willing to first and or fourth for te Higgins. I
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: would do that too. M Yeah, I mean it's the
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: way you talked about it. Fred. It's a bigger risk
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: trading Mac without knowing you're going to get a quarterback. Yeah,
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: like if you if you can get Stroud or or Young,
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: then that's different. You're not going to get them at seven. However,
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: these kinds of trades offering get get made with knowledge
- 1:37:04Speaker 1: of future trades. So if you can get up to seven,
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: then it's not that hard to get up to three, yeah,
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: where you might be able to get one of those guys. Yeah, right, yep.
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: So I think that's that's the way I would look
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: at it. That's that's that's how I would go about it. Uh.
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: Megan from Topeka, Kansas Rights in when do you think
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: teams will start trading players before free agency starts are during? Um, Well,
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: they can't until March fifteenth. They can't, they can't become
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: official until March fifteenth. But it can happen. I think
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: we've seen it happen before someone got traded last year.
- 1:37:41Speaker 1: I remember also Paul the Carson Wentz trade. Well, if
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: I'm just watching Carson Wentz highlights right now, I think
- 1:37:48Speaker 1: Carson Wentz. That trade from India to Washington was was
- 1:37:52Speaker 1: made before the league year started. Now it obviously doesn't
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: become official until the league year. Also, Paul, who do
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: you hope we trade for? Also living in Chiefs Kingdom,
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: I just want to tell you all the fans out
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: here are so annoying and I've been threatened just for
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: not liking the Chiefs. So long story short, I'm ready
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: for the Chiefs to not win like they have been. Yeah,
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: that I could totally understand if I lived in another
- 1:38:19Speaker 1: fan bases area. That would get tiresome. Yeah, wide receivers.
- 1:38:26Speaker 1: I think we've talked about like the Jerry Judy's and
- 1:38:28Speaker 1: the t Higgins of the world. You know a lot
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: of people still like the idea of DeAndre Hopkins. I'm
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: not as high on that as as others are, even
- 1:38:37Speaker 1: though he's a great player. Yep, I don't know. I
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: don't know who you know. We had a caller earlier
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: bring up Michael Pittman from the Colts, which I thought
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: was a different name than the ones that we normally hear.
- 1:38:52Speaker 1: I just I'm just interested in in that kind of player. Yeah,
- 1:38:55Speaker 1: someone who's has an established track record. Who who you
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: could step in and be, uh, you know, a definite,
- 1:39:04Speaker 1: like a discernible upgrade to your depth chart. Back to
- 1:39:08Speaker 1: the phones, John's and Duxbury. What's up, John, Hi, gentlemen,
- 1:39:12Speaker 1: how are you okay? Doing great? John? Yeah? Well, Paul,
- 1:39:16Speaker 1: I hope you're on the same wavelength with me that
- 1:39:18Speaker 1: the Patriots should be traded up, not backwards. Yeah. I
- 1:39:21Speaker 1: mentioned that earlier. If there's a you know, a paucity
- 1:39:24Speaker 1: of blue chip prospects, I don't know why that means
- 1:39:27Speaker 1: you have to trade down. They Paul got eleventh draft picks,
- 1:39:30Speaker 1: the steed More. They need to get ahead of it
- 1:39:33Speaker 1: uts and take one of those three tackles if they're available,
- 1:39:38Speaker 1: take it. I want them taking the top pick. I
- 1:39:40Speaker 1: don't want the faudi it in the sixtieth players for
- 1:39:43Speaker 1: their fourteenth pick. That's stupid. Yeah, I mean I kind
- 1:39:49Speaker 1: of agree. I kind of agree. If there's a guy
- 1:39:52Speaker 1: that they target and you can get them by by
- 1:39:55Speaker 1: sliding up a handful of spots, I think that's something.
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: As you mentioned, John, they have a lot of picks,
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: so they have a lot of ammunition to move up. Yeah,
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: they don't need anymore. And you know, I can't wait
- 1:40:07Speaker 1: till the Jets sign the raatest quarterback. That would continue
- 1:40:12Speaker 1: they have last place finishes. I don't know. I gotta
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: tell you right now, if if Derek Carr was the
- 1:40:20Speaker 1: Jets quarterback last year, they would have made the playoffs probably.
- 1:40:24Speaker 1: Well yeah, but if Derek is gonna lose us, you're
- 1:40:27Speaker 1: not gonna win anything. Well, you're not gonna win. I'm
- 1:40:29Speaker 1: not gonna win a title with him, absolutely, absolutely agreed.
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: But it does make them a better team. They would
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: have made the playoffs with him as their quarterback last year.
- 1:40:36Speaker 1: Thanks John, Derek Carry. He's kind of gone on a
- 1:40:39Speaker 1: roller coaster for me. Like there was I thought he
- 1:40:41Speaker 1: was a joke, and then you know, two years ago
- 1:40:44Speaker 1: he really showed a lot of leadership and I was like, Okay,
- 1:40:47Speaker 1: I like this guy. But then last year, I don't
- 1:40:49Speaker 1: know what happened, but he got benched, you know, and
- 1:40:53Speaker 1: the word was that he was off script too often. Yeah,
- 1:40:55Speaker 1: for Josh's liking, he was improvising too much. Yeah, I
- 1:40:59Speaker 1: don't know how much truth is to that. But so
- 1:41:02Speaker 1: I don't know, Like he's okay, Like I don't think
- 1:41:04Speaker 1: he's any more than what most other people think he is.
- 1:41:07Speaker 1: But that's a team that won seven games with no
- 1:41:10Speaker 1: quarterback play. Yeah, I think they could have. I think
- 1:41:13Speaker 1: they could have won two or three Yeah. Yeah, I
- 1:41:16Speaker 1: think they could have won two or three more games
- 1:41:18Speaker 1: with with adequate quarter adequate quarterback play. And I think
- 1:41:21Speaker 1: two of them may have been against you. Yeah, those
- 1:41:23Speaker 1: two games could have gone either way. Ye William and
- 1:41:27Speaker 1: Phil him? What's up? William? Hey? What's going on for it?
- 1:41:33Speaker 1: What's up? Okay? Um, I got a question to ask
- 1:41:38Speaker 1: you about when Bill Bill takes time. I guess I
- 1:41:41Speaker 1: don't know who makes it, makes the contracts up and whatnot.
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: So I'm just trying to figure out how how does
- 1:41:50Speaker 1: that work? So okay, you got JUDEI and nothing Aggivar,
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: So how do you decide how much to pay him
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: and whatnot. It's there's a lot of research that goes
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: into it with players of the same you know, similar
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: amounts of experience in the league, production at their various positions,
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: and what other guys make. So it's it's like anything else.
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: It's like the law. And by the way, William, just
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: so you know, like there's like this Management Council database,
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: you know, portal all the teams have access to every
- 1:42:27Speaker 1: contract of every other team, so there's no secrets out there.
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: So it's you know, every team has guys on their
- 1:42:34Speaker 1: staff that that's what their job is to. You know, Okay,
- 1:42:38Speaker 1: give me, you know, give me the average salary for
- 1:42:42Speaker 1: wide receiver four years in the league with this amount
- 1:42:45Speaker 1: of stat and those answers are at their fingertips because
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: they have access to all the c that's you know,
- 1:42:50Speaker 1: that's where like Mike Reese had his item on Jacobe
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: Myers that we talked about earlier in the show, right,
- 1:42:56Speaker 1: and he brought up I thought Mike did a good
- 1:42:57Speaker 1: job of giving you a couple of comps in Christian
- 1:43:00Speaker 1: Kirk in Jacksonville and Hunter Renfro in Las Vegas, and
- 1:43:05Speaker 1: they you know, and no two guys are exactly the same,
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: but they had similar amounts you know, of seasons in
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: the league, in similar production in terms of receptions, yards, whatnot.
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: So those guys made X amount of money. That's where
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: you come up with the fifteen to twenty million dollars
- 1:43:26Speaker 1: range because that's where those two guys fell. Hunter Renfro,
- 1:43:29Speaker 1: I think, was signed a two year, thirty two million
- 1:43:31Speaker 1: dollar contract and Christian Kirk signed a big you know,
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: a longer term deal for big money. So that's where
- 1:43:39Speaker 1: they fall. I think he's seventeen annual Christian Kirk. So
- 1:43:42Speaker 1: that's why people are looking at Jacobe Myers as a
- 1:43:45Speaker 1: guy who could make some way between fifteen and twenty million.
- 1:43:48Speaker 1: And that's why I like so. You know, reportedly, so
- 1:43:51Speaker 1: many teams were upset at the Deshaun Watson contract because
- 1:43:54Speaker 1: it threw the quarterback correct, you know, trend out of whack.
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: Like if you're Lamar Jackson and you've been on the
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: field and you've been winning games while this guy was,
- 1:44:06Speaker 1: you know, suspended, how can you not say, well, well,
- 1:44:10Speaker 1: you gave it to him. You got to give that
- 1:44:11Speaker 1: to me, right, I agree, Yeah, I agree, I have
- 1:44:15Speaker 1: I had one more question, and I said, this is
- 1:44:17Speaker 1: kind of a real kind of big question too. So
- 1:44:21Speaker 1: all right, so we all know that we need a
- 1:44:23Speaker 1: number one wid out though, but here's the question in
- 1:44:27Speaker 1: the I don't think no one's asking I'm gonna ask this,
- 1:44:30Speaker 1: Why did it take you so long to do this
- 1:44:33Speaker 1: when you had opportunities? You have Brandon, could you trade
- 1:44:36Speaker 1: him off? You could have had you could have had
- 1:44:38Speaker 1: a lot of receivers at this point. Why did you
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: wait so long, then then the greatest quarterback as he's gone. Man,
- 1:44:45Speaker 1: you see what Matt can do? You know he can't
- 1:44:48Speaker 1: do it yet or or if he can't at all,
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: I don't know, he can't, you know, not what this
- 1:44:53Speaker 1: not what not? What the weapons that you have? You know,
- 1:44:55Speaker 1: you gotta get premium talent now. So I don't I
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: don't understand why will keep. I mean, I mean none
- 1:45:05Speaker 1: of us know exactly why. But you know, we can
- 1:45:07Speaker 1: only surmise that it's a philosophical thing. You know. He
- 1:45:11Speaker 1: they you know, and they could be part of the
- 1:45:13Speaker 1: owner too. They just didn't want to spend that much
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: of the cap. And I know the cap is crap,
- 1:45:18Speaker 1: but that percentage of a cap on one player who's
- 1:45:21Speaker 1: not a quarterback, you know. And uh but I think
- 1:45:24Speaker 1: in today's NFL, the wide that playmaking wide receiver is
- 1:45:29Speaker 1: he's not as important as a quarterback, but he's up there.
- 1:45:31Speaker 1: You know, the value of that position has just gone.
- 1:45:34Speaker 1: It's skyrocketed in this league. But because the league is
- 1:45:38Speaker 1: designed to throw the ball. Yeah, I just feel like
- 1:45:41Speaker 1: that there's this notion that so and so good overpaid.
- 1:45:45Speaker 1: This guy got overpaid. If they want to give silly money.
- 1:45:47Speaker 1: And you look at the franchise numbers for offensive line,
- 1:45:55Speaker 1: defensive end, defensive tackle, linebacker, wide receiver, they're all between
- 1:46:01Speaker 1: eighteen and twenty one million. Yeah, so there's not like
- 1:46:04Speaker 1: a skyrocketing number that's out of whack or whatever. This
- 1:46:08Speaker 1: is what players cost. This is to me, it's a
- 1:46:11Speaker 1: changing economy in the league that's coinciding with the rapid
- 1:46:16Speaker 1: rise in salary cap. Yeah. So to your point, Fred,
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: if there's a percentage that that teams have stuck in
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: their head, it's getting it. But it's probably not all
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: that different, right, because the number might be the salary
- 1:46:29Speaker 1: might be much different, but the percentage wise for the
- 1:46:32Speaker 1: cap is probably not that different. And all of those
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: positions that the ones that are diff the outliers. Obviously,
- 1:46:39Speaker 1: quarterback is far and away the high. I think there's
- 1:46:41Speaker 1: like thirty two thirty three million. Running Back is lower,
- 1:46:45Speaker 1: tight end is lower, right, like most of the other positions.
- 1:46:49Speaker 1: I think safety is lower. Corner, right, you know, corner,
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: defensive line, offensive line, edge rusher, wide receiver, they're all
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: the same. Middle linebackers probably this year, you know, um,
- 1:47:02Speaker 1: but yeah, those impact positions. Yeah, and then you look
- 1:47:06Speaker 1: at some of this. Roquan Smith just just got a huge,
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: huge bag of money from Baltimore. So like even then,
- 1:47:14Speaker 1: this is what players cost. Yeah, and if you don't
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: want to pay with players cost, you're gonna fall behind. Yep.
- 1:47:20Speaker 1: I'm just I'm just I'm scared. As head of this offseason.
- 1:47:23Speaker 1: You said to be surprised and stuff, Paul, but we're
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: talking about Bill Belichickie, I am scared. I am dead
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: series man from Yeah, I get it free to see
- 1:47:32Speaker 1: to the draft? Oh my god. So I just all
- 1:47:36Speaker 1: I'm meant to do with this pray to them, to
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: the football guy, please God to to pick somebody players.
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: All right? I mean I understand where Williams coming from
- 1:47:46Speaker 1: because we've watched this guy for twenty plus years and
- 1:47:49Speaker 1: we know how he wants to set up his team.
- 1:47:52Speaker 1: And my question would be to you, Fred, and I
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: don't know. I don't have the answer. I'm no expert
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: by by no means um. You know, does he have
- 1:48:02Speaker 1: to change in order to win at the level that
- 1:48:05Speaker 1: he's accustomed to winning? Right? I would say the answer
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: is yes, yeah, And to assume that he is going
- 1:48:12Speaker 1: to is us don't know? And I and I'm not
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: saying that this is what they're doing. But if they
- 1:48:18Speaker 1: if they're trying to build the team so that it's
- 1:48:22Speaker 1: good for a decade, I don't think you can have
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: that type of vision anymore in the NFL, you know,
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: Like I don't. I think I think you can, but
- 1:48:34Speaker 1: only when you get the quarterback. But I just think it's, yeah, well,
- 1:48:37Speaker 1: that's when you have the home So Josh Allen or Burrow, Okay,
- 1:48:41Speaker 1: you can think ten years down the road, but until
- 1:48:44Speaker 1: you have that quarterback, there's no sense and look down
- 1:48:48Speaker 1: the road. I don't want to look ten years down
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: the road as a fan of a team. I only
- 1:48:52Speaker 1: care about now. Yeah so, And I think it's so
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: easy in that league to mix and match parts. Yeah so,
- 1:48:58Speaker 1: I think building a team that's a stayle for a decade,
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: I don't think that that's the NFL these days unless
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: you've got one of the four or five top quarterbacks
- 1:49:08Speaker 1: in the league. And really there's only that many, you know, Like,
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: I guess you could throw Rodgers into that mix, but
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: he's getting old. You're not gonna look ten years ahead
- 1:49:16Speaker 1: with Aaron Rodgers, you know. So it's it's hard to do.
- 1:49:19Speaker 1: You need that quarterback once you get that quarterback. Okay,
- 1:49:23Speaker 1: now you can start looking at the future, but until then,
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: you gotta look at like this year and next year,
- 1:49:31Speaker 1: Kevin and Dublin. I'm growing worried about Bill's management of
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: the staff, both coaching and playing. More broadly, the notable
- 1:49:38Speaker 1: decrease in Bill's ruthlessness of years past has corresponded with
- 1:49:43Speaker 1: a rise in locker room leaks and player pressure. I
- 1:49:46Speaker 1: get that it's not always necessary to rule with an
- 1:49:48Speaker 1: iron fist, but I think Bill has invited trouble by
- 1:49:51Speaker 1: refraining for making swift, tough decisions on players descent and
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: coaching mediocrity. Still a great coach, but as he lost
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: the edge in terms of management. I don't really have
- 1:50:04Speaker 1: the answer to that. Well, like you know, okay, when
- 1:50:07Speaker 1: it comes to coaching, we were talking about this a
- 1:50:10Speaker 1: few weeks ago. I don't remember Bill ever firing a
- 1:50:13Speaker 1: coach mid season, have you you know, like ruthlessness? No, yeah,
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: so like mad season. Yeah, maybe maybe there was never
- 1:50:22Speaker 1: a reason to do it. But like you know, I've
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: seen other teams do that, but Bill has never done that.
- 1:50:27Speaker 1: Does that mean he's not ruthless? I don't know, but
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: he's never done that. But I will say that. I
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: the other part of what he talked about, I don't
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: remember these kinds of leaks coming, the kind of information
- 1:50:38Speaker 1: that could consistently came out of the locker room right
- 1:50:40Speaker 1: the last couple of years. I don't ever. But does
- 1:50:41Speaker 1: that happen when you're not winning on any team? I
- 1:50:44Speaker 1: think it does. I don't, I do, I don't. I
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: think that they've had mostly winning seasons around here. But
- 1:50:50Speaker 1: you didn't hear that kind of crap, No, because they've
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: had mostly winning season. But this is not the only
- 1:50:55Speaker 1: losing season they had. Okay, you go back to my point.
- 1:50:58Speaker 1: You going back to the day list Thomas year. You
- 1:51:01Speaker 1: heard a lot that year because they were dysfunctional in
- 1:51:03Speaker 1: the locker room. Yeah, but the only thing that you
- 1:51:05Speaker 1: heard coming out of that locker room in terms of
- 1:51:08Speaker 1: disgruntled was specifically to an individual for their treatment. In
- 1:51:13Speaker 1: other words, those four guys that were late, Yeah, for practice,
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: they were pissed off. Yeah, Like I'll go back to
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: but you will go back to Corey Dillon. He wasn't starting,
- 1:51:21Speaker 1: he was pissed off. Yeah, go ask Bill. Yeah, like
- 1:51:24Speaker 1: you didn't hear, like, I don't know what our game
- 1:51:27Speaker 1: plans are all about I've heard that for the last
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: couple of years. Yeah, I mean including inn at ten
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: and seventh season that they went to the playoffs. Yeah,
- 1:51:34Speaker 1: I think. I think a lot of that has to
- 1:51:37Speaker 1: do with no Tom Brady, believe it or not. And
- 1:51:40Speaker 1: and yes, a little bit of a lack of leadership
- 1:51:43Speaker 1: on the offense obviously, because you know, actions speak louder
- 1:51:47Speaker 1: than words, and we saw the actions as a result
- 1:51:49Speaker 1: of last year. And I think part of it is
- 1:51:51Speaker 1: a changing mindset for players. These players, and I used
- 1:51:55Speaker 1: this analogy all the time. These players are used to
- 1:51:57Speaker 1: just changing teams and you don't like a situation, just
- 1:52:00Speaker 1: transferred to or another school, go to another high school,
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: find a different coach that will understand you and figure
- 1:52:07Speaker 1: out the way you want to do it. And I
- 1:52:09Speaker 1: think that's part of it. These guys are like, no,
- 1:52:11Speaker 1: I'm not gonna do that. I'm not gonna I'm not
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: I don't want that guy running my defense, i don't
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: want this guy calling players on my offense. I'm just
- 1:52:19Speaker 1: gonna bitch about it. Because that's a lot of that
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: is kind of generational for you and I. You know,
- 1:52:24Speaker 1: we're old guys. Fred, you would have never thought to
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: openly question the coach's authority. Now you keep your mouth shut, right, Yeah,
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: you know you might think something, but you're not gonna
- 1:52:33Speaker 1: express it, right, Although I might have, but nowadays, I mean,
- 1:52:38Speaker 1: who doesn't express every thought they have? Ever? I know,
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: I know you put it out on your account. Darren
- 1:52:44Speaker 1: writes in what does bisku mean? It's a thick cream soup.
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: It's a noun thick cream soup made with shellfish or game,
- 1:52:54Speaker 1: or a cream soup of vegetables, ice cream containing powdered
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: nuts or macaroons. I don't know anyway. Um, yeah, there's biscus,
- 1:53:03Speaker 1: there's chowder, there's stews, and then of course there's soups.
- 1:53:08Speaker 1: This gaspacho, which is cold soup. I don't like a spatcho.
- 1:53:11Speaker 1: Do you like a spot potato? Right? No, No, you're
- 1:53:14Speaker 1: thinking of nacchick, but not ever. No, gaspacho is cold soup,
- 1:53:22Speaker 1: cold soup. I don't. I don't like it. Yeah, I
- 1:53:25Speaker 1: don't think I've ever had. I don't think I know
- 1:53:26Speaker 1: from gaspacho. I've never had gaspacho. I don't think so,
- 1:53:30Speaker 1: I can't. I can't accurately commented whether or not I
- 1:53:33Speaker 1: like it. All right, it doesn't sound like something I
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: would like. Yeah, I mean to me, why have soup
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: if it's cold? I don't just have a V eight Fred.
- 1:53:41Speaker 1: We're having a like we're having a nice show today,
- 1:53:45Speaker 1: You and I we're sort of lockstep. But if it's
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: a dessert soup, a dessert, a dessert soup like strawberry
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: cream soup or something, what the hell is that they
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: have that? It was good? Now, a moose is like
- 1:53:58Speaker 1: a pudding. Right, it was actually like a soup. It
- 1:54:01Speaker 1: was the soup and it was good, good, but it
- 1:54:04Speaker 1: was cold. That's why the spotsh made me think of it.
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: I wouldn't be satisfied with that. Like, you know, I'm
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: gonna have dessert. I'm gonna have cake or ice cream.
- 1:54:11Speaker 1: It's not something that they're gonna give me this liquid
- 1:54:13Speaker 1: put in front of you at a wedding. Yeah, where
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: do you feel? Where do you fall on pies? That
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: dessert pie is a dessert? Pie is a dessert? Okay?
- 1:54:21Speaker 1: Yeah unless this chicken pot pie, and then it's a meal.
- 1:54:24Speaker 1: Good point by you, which I had last night. Chicken
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: pot pie is underrated midwinter. But but you can't have
- 1:54:31Speaker 1: the chicken pot pie with the peas and the carrots
- 1:54:33Speaker 1: in it. It's just gonna be chicken, gravy and the crust.
- 1:54:37Speaker 1: That's that's it. I don't need all the like you
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: don't like veggies, put them on the side if you
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: want them, don't But I like the carrots. Don't put
- 1:54:44Speaker 1: him in my pie. I don't like peas peas out
- 1:54:47Speaker 1: of my pie. Wow, yeah, you are very regimented. Yeah,
- 1:54:51Speaker 1: I like. I like just the chicken, the gravy, and
- 1:54:53Speaker 1: the and the flaky crust for my chicken pot pets.
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: It's like I said, it's a very under midwinter kind
- 1:55:01Speaker 1: of butt meal. You know. For the most part. Pies
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: to me are desserts. Are they not for you? Oh? Yeah,
- 1:55:07Speaker 1: yeah yeah? Why wouldn't they be? But well, I don't know.
- 1:55:09Speaker 1: You just said cake and ice cream, so I didn't
- 1:55:11Speaker 1: know if you were. I like pie. I love pie. Yeah, sure,
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: give me a pie. Stop laughing, man, Uh, let's see
- 1:55:22Speaker 1: any kind of who doesn't? Uh? I know what Matt's thinking?
- 1:55:26Speaker 1: Marks and Everett, what's up? Mark? Hey, guys, how are
- 1:55:31Speaker 1: you doing? I love either way, vegetavals or not, it
- 1:55:33Speaker 1: doesn't matter, okay, Because he's from God's country, he knows do.
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: I always agree with you, and I can't stand that,
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: but I do always agree with you, especially young. A
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: lot of guys are now. But I wanted to ask
- 1:55:45Speaker 1: this as a receiver number one thing. Stever really what
- 1:55:48Speaker 1: we need if we had him last year? Well we
- 1:55:50Speaker 1: have won any more games. I mean, Mac Jones. The
- 1:55:53Speaker 1: Office of Line was most of our trouble, wasn't it.
- 1:55:56Speaker 1: It really wasn't there Stever having another one or not?
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: Don't you think? I? Um? In general? Yeah, I agree.
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: I think that there's a notion that if you just
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: get the weapons, everything is going to be magically fixed,
- 1:56:10Speaker 1: and I'm not sure that that would have fixed everything
- 1:56:12Speaker 1: last year. Yeah, I think the weapons they hatch should
- 1:56:15Speaker 1: have been better. I think a lot of people agree
- 1:56:17Speaker 1: with you, Fred, And you know who agrees with you
- 1:56:19Speaker 1: a lot? Who's that on my show? Felger? Oh yeah,
- 1:56:23Speaker 1: he says it constantly. Their weapons were better than they
- 1:56:26Speaker 1: showed last year. Time that we agree they had plenty
- 1:56:30Speaker 1: to be more successful than that. On offense. Yeah, I
- 1:56:32Speaker 1: agree with that. I've said it. I said it from
- 1:56:34Speaker 1: them from the jump. Black was storing him in the
- 1:56:36Speaker 1: ground People's heads, and he was towing people into danger.
- 1:56:41Speaker 1: I definitely agree with that last one. Yeah, I think
- 1:56:45Speaker 1: offensive blinds what we should have focus on. And maybe
- 1:56:49Speaker 1: you're looking at maybe another quarterback or getting macked back
- 1:56:52Speaker 1: into his game. Okay, you guys, thank you all right,
- 1:56:54Speaker 1: Thanks Mark, Thanks Mark, Um, You're good in God's Country. Dana, Virginia,
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: Michigan says, apologies to the emailer if I have it wrong,
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: but I'm guessing what he's talking about when it comes
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: to bisk is Fred's comment that good lobster bisk is
- 1:57:08Speaker 1: sex is like sex for your throat. I do remember
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: saying that. I do remember saying that. I don't. But
- 1:57:16Speaker 1: that's even funnier than is like sex for your throat.
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: He's not the only emailer to say it, so it
- 1:57:22Speaker 1: must be true because yeah, there's a plus. It was Dan. Yeah,
- 1:57:25Speaker 1: I don't. I wouldn't doubt Dan. Other email is saying
- 1:57:28Speaker 1: you said sex in the mouth. Um, if you're looking
- 1:57:30Speaker 1: for a good lobster bisk on the Cape, the Daniel
- 1:57:33Speaker 1: Webster in Sandwich has an excellent lobster bisk. You have
- 1:57:38Speaker 1: the the place down the cape. Oh yeah for everything. Well,
- 1:57:43Speaker 1: if you haven't noticed, they eat out a lot because
- 1:57:46Speaker 1: I don't cook but and my wife doesn't really particularly
- 1:57:50Speaker 1: enjoy it either, so we eat out a lot. But yeah,
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: my wife and I eat out a lot too. Yeah,
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: um I I I enjoy the whole thing about eating out.
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: I do you know, I like the sitting down, getting
- 1:58:04Speaker 1: a drink, placing the water. I just you know what
- 1:58:07Speaker 1: I really like when I like a like a Saturday night,
- 1:58:11Speaker 1: especially in the summer, if it's nice out, you get
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: to a place on the water and your table's not ready,
- 1:58:17Speaker 1: and you go to the bar and have you know,
- 1:58:19Speaker 1: maybe a couple of drinks while you're waiting for your table. Yeah,
- 1:58:22Speaker 1: And that that to me is like, see, I don't
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: cut this a couple of I don't perfect for me.
- 1:58:27Speaker 1: I don't like having to be in a place where
- 1:58:30Speaker 1: I know I'm gonna have to move as soon as
- 1:58:32Speaker 1: they call my name. I like to just be where
- 1:58:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna be and settle in. Fat. Yeah, it's not
- 1:58:38Speaker 1: about lazy. I don't want to move, I know. I
- 1:58:40Speaker 1: just I just want to be where I'm supposed to
- 1:58:42Speaker 1: be and settle in, get comfortable, and not have to
- 1:58:44Speaker 1: worry about Oh now I gotta move. I'll pay the
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: check now and take it to bring the tab. You know,
- 1:58:49Speaker 1: I don't want it to worry about that. I just
- 1:58:51Speaker 1: want to get my table. I want to sit. I
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: want to relax. I enjoy the I love that nice
- 1:58:55Speaker 1: like kind of summary. It's not like scorching hot, but
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: you're on the water, so it's close like that that
- 1:59:00Speaker 1: likes being at a barn all, you know, and it's
- 1:59:02Speaker 1: just relaxed. It's like sometimes like you go and you
- 1:59:05Speaker 1: sit and you feel like, you know, because they want
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: to turn the tables over. That's true. Like I just
- 1:59:09Speaker 1: want to go and I want to be out for
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: a couple hours and I want to enjoy the sort
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: of the atmosphere. That's true. And you know me, Freddy,
- 1:59:15Speaker 1: you know, as as an admitted D list celebrity, I
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: get recognized a lot of the bar. That's true. You know,
- 1:59:22Speaker 1: people want to buy me middle of lights. Yeah, and
- 1:59:24Speaker 1: who am I to deprive people of? Oh? There you go?
- 1:59:27Speaker 1: So for you, it's a business decision in all seriousness.
- 1:59:31Speaker 1: I get my wife and I when we're out, we
- 1:59:33Speaker 1: get into a lot of conversations with people at the bar.
- 1:59:35Speaker 1: I find that And I'm not overly extroverted in that way, right,
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: But when you're sitting at a bar, it just sort
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: of lent itself more. You hear somebody says, oh did
- 1:59:46Speaker 1: you mention? Yeah, it happens a lot when at the bar.
- 1:59:49Speaker 1: I enjoy that. Uh yeah, that's a night out. All right, Um,
