- 0:00All of us are here to heal on some level.
- 0:03You know, we're healer here to heal our childhood wounds.
- 0:06We're here to heal, you know, the collective.
- 0:09We're heal. We're here to heal.
- 0:11I realized in that moment, oh, this is it.
- 0:14She's going. And then I looked at her and I
- 0:16literally saw her spirit exit her body.
- 0:19It was the craziest thing. And then I, you know, just laid
- 0:21her back and and as that was going on, I just was telling
- 0:25her, I love you. I love you.
- 0:26I love you because I was thinking to myself, this woman
- 0:30brought me into the world and as hard as this is right now, I get
- 0:34to be with her as she leads the world.
- 0:36It would be interesting for us to kind of look at dis ease in
- 0:41the physical body as a way that our body is speaking to us so
- 0:46that we can learn certain things that we wouldn't learn had that
- 0:49not happened. What do we choose to do with
- 0:51ourselves every day? Do you want to create in the
- 0:54world or do you want to consume? And when you're consuming, what
- 0:57are you getting from that? If you're getting something
- 0:59that's a lower frequency that doesn't really feel good, but
- 1:02you're kind of just like out of habit.
- 1:04Going back to that pattern, it's important to kind of look at
- 1:07that. We only need to feel an emotion
- 1:10for 90 seconds in order to process it.
- 1:13So if we know that we're feeling sad or upset or angry, look at
- 1:17the clock, allow yourself 90 seconds, and then exhale it out
- 1:21and move your body to release it.
- 1:23There are healers on this planet with the power to soften the
- 1:26suffering of mankind if they have remained in the recesses of
- 1:29the world, abused, discarded and labeled as trash.
- 1:34This is the touch of a Mustang. I am your host.
- 1:37Shalise Clough and I'm here to tell the story of wild horses,
- 1:41Mustangs and the humans who are discovering and sharing their
- 1:45gifts while working to protect their well-being and preserve
- 1:48their spirit so this divine power won't be lost.
- 1:53Join us on this quest with the Wild Mustang.
- 2:01Britt, it is great to have you on the podcast today.
- 2:04Thank you so much for being here.
- 2:05Thank you for having me, it's such a pleasure.
- 2:08To start with, can you tell the audience a little bit about
- 2:11yourself and what it is exactly that you do?
- 2:14Yeah, so I'm a frequency artist and quantum guide or quantum
- 2:18healer. And the way that I got into that
- 2:21was a very windy Rd. But as most of us are on our
- 2:25journey, it's never a straight line.
- 2:27And so a frequency artist is kind of a different type of
- 2:31artist. I started out as just a
- 2:33traditional. I went to school to be an
- 2:35artist. I went to the Art Institute of
- 2:37Chicago or the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
- 2:39And, and then I got my master's degrees in marriage and family
- 2:44therapy and art therapy. And at that time I started
- 2:47showing my work just in traditional galleries.
- 2:50And I had my stuff in galleries across the United States with
- 2:53collectors around the world, which was pretty cool.
- 2:56And and then things kind of shifted a little bit a couple
- 3:01years, probably my mom got diagnosed in 2010 with lung
- 3:07cancer. And so that was 1 pivot and I
- 3:09stopped painting at that period of time.
- 3:12And then I went back to painting in 2019, which was two years
- 3:16after my sister got diagnosed with cancer.
- 3:20And when I came back into painting, I had become a Reiki
- 3:24master. And, and so I realized when I
- 3:28was taking care of my sister that I had kind of a divine,
- 3:32divine download, if you will, that I was to create artwork
- 3:37that would transmit healing frequencies.
- 3:39So using Reiki as a means to send healing to whoever was
- 3:45around each of my paintings. And so I created this whole
- 3:48sacred process, which is so different from any traditional
- 3:51art. And, and I had worked in
- 3:54hospitals. We can talk more about that too,
- 3:56but I had worked in hospital setting with oncology and
- 4:00pediatric patients, heart transplant as an art therapist.
- 4:04And so, you know, kind of seeing the the full roundabout scope of
- 4:08what the power of art and creativity is for healing and
- 4:12just for our souls in general. I am a completely different
- 4:16artist today than I was when I first started out or even when I
- 4:20went to art school. I didn't even know that I could
- 4:22create art like this. So, and then I also help people
- 4:26who are kind of looking for to live with more purpose and to
- 4:30have kind of confidence and clarity in that.
- 4:33And so that's why I say I'm a quantum guide and a quantum
- 4:35healer because even though I have my background in therapy
- 4:39and therapeutic practices, things have just gone on such a
- 4:43different Rd. with my mom, my dad and my sister all having
- 4:47cancer and just kind of experiencing that through them
- 4:52and their journeys. I just see life in such a
- 4:54different way. And so I help other people to
- 4:56kind of come to that realization of why their soul is here in
- 5:00this life and kind of guiding them on how to get aligned with
- 5:04that. So that's kind of a long answer
- 5:07to your question. No, that's perfect.
- 5:10You definitely have a long story behind it.
- 5:13Let's get into that a little bit more.
- 5:15So you went to college, more traditional art program, did
- 5:22traditional mental health practices with marriage and
- 5:25family therapy. Yeah.
- 5:26So, yeah, yeah, yeah. And I went to a lot of therapy
- 5:30when I was younger as well. So I experienced a lot of, you
- 5:34know, my everybody has their journey, everybody has their
- 5:36struggles. And so, you know, I found
- 5:39therapy to be extremely helpful for me and just going and having
- 5:43somebody to listen. And and so I was wanted to kind
- 5:47of do that for other people because I always had friends
- 5:49that looked to me to kind of help them with advice or to just
- 5:53listen to them. And so therapy really played a
- 5:57huge part in my kind of evolution.
- 6:00And then I got to a point, which is funny because now I kind of,
- 6:04I feel like therapy is almost becoming antiquated for a lot of
- 6:08people. Like it still has its place and
- 6:10for, you know, trauma and for, you know, people that are
- 6:13experiencing things that are acute, I think it's really
- 6:17powerful. But I think for long term kind
- 6:20of personal evolution, I think you get to a point in therapy
- 6:24where you just start kind of digging up the same things.
- 6:27And so I feel like energy healing and just becoming more
- 6:31aware and conscious of living mindfully kind of expands on
- 6:35what you learn when you're in therapy.
- 6:37So I think therapy is definitely has its place, but for me, I've
- 6:41kind of moved beyond that. And so that in the work that I
- 6:44do with people and just kind of how my artwork is and, and just
- 6:49kind of how I show up, it's just a little bit non traditional.
- 6:52And I never would have thought that I would have ended up here
- 6:56from where I was, you know, originally my parents were both
- 6:59super alike. My dad was corporate, you know,
- 7:02he was in that world. And my mom was an interior
- 7:04designer and she worked actually, she did the interiors.
- 7:09We lived in Northern California and she did the interiors for,
- 7:14she worked with Steve Jobs for Apple in the 80s.
- 7:18And so, and she worked for like Hewlett Packard and she did a
- 7:20lot of the interiors for the early Silicon Valley, you know,
- 7:25offices. And so she had to figure out how
- 7:27to put like a computer on the desks.
- 7:29And so things were a little bit different.
- 7:30So I came from like a pretty traditional background.
- 7:34And then, you know, now I'm just not traditional at all.
- 7:38And so, you know, I have three daughters and raising them and
- 7:41then kind of, you know, seeing how the world is changing has
- 7:47just been really interesting, is really interesting process.
- 7:51Yeah. Yeah, and we really have a lot
- 7:54of overlap there because we often think of therapy or it's
- 7:58presented as a end all. Like if you're struggling,
- 8:01that's the place to go. That's always what's
- 8:03recommended, you know, talk to a therapist, call a professional.
- 8:06And I do think it's really important for people to realize
- 8:08there are other places and modalities and even things that
- 8:14you in your particular situation might need.
- 8:17Obviously from my perspective, a lot of times that leans towards
- 8:20horses, but I found the same thing in that because my
- 8:25background is also in psychology and it gives us some answers and
- 8:29we're talking about a lot more things.
- 8:31But it's not always like you don't always go there and things
- 8:34aren't fixed and sometimes we have to look a little bit
- 8:36farther. And so it's really great to know
- 8:38that there's a lot of other places that you can maybe
- 8:41explore and see if they are the things that you need.
- 8:45Tell us a little bit more about that journey for you from pretty
- 8:48traditional, pretty well known paths that a lot of us follow
- 8:54after college, kind of, you know, getting the degree, the
- 8:57certifications into what you do now and how that all came about.
- 9:02Yeah. So it's interesting because when
- 9:04I got my master's degrees, I worked and at the same time I
- 9:08got a certification. I did my practicum at California
- 9:11Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.
- 9:14And the program that I did that through was called the Institute
- 9:18for Health and Healing. And, you know, San Francisco
- 9:21tends to be obviously pretty progressive in terms of
- 9:24everything. And still at this hospital and
- 9:27through this program, I was exposed to healing modalities.
- 9:30And this was like 25 years ago. I was exposed to, you know,
- 9:34sweat lodges and shaman. And, you know, this guy, Wayne
- 9:41Mueller came in and spoke and he was married by Ram Dass.
- 9:44You know, he and his wife Ram Dass married them.
- 9:46And so, like, I was exposed to all kinds of different healing
- 9:50modalities. The other programs that were
- 9:53getting their certifications at the same some time as me to do
- 9:57the work that we were doing in the hospital setting were like
- 10:00massage, which at the time was pretty new to have massage in a
- 10:04hospital setting. And then there were chaplains,
- 10:06which were pretty common. And then there was guided
- 10:09visualization, which is interesting because in, you
- 10:11know, the quantum work that I do, there's a lot of
- 10:14visualization that I do and I do have a lot of guided meditations
- 10:18on my podcast. The first season that I did was
- 10:20all meditations. And so I think with healing in
- 10:24particular, visualization is a really powerful modality.
- 10:28And so that goes along with the art that I do.
- 10:31And so like looking back at all of the things that I've done,
- 10:35but really like that one of the turning points was that program
- 10:38when I was getting my master's degree at the Institute for
- 10:42Health and Healing, because it opened my eyes to the fact that
- 10:45traditional hospitals and, and hospital settings do have and do
- 10:51offer alternative therapies that are extremely complementary.
- 10:55And yet even though there's these scientific studies that
- 10:58prove the validity of everything from like color therapy to art
- 11:01therapy to sound healing to equity, you know, all of the
- 11:05different therapies, there is still so much resistance and
- 11:08skepticism in the world that these because people are so
- 11:11programmed to believe that you go to a hospital, you go to a
- 11:15doctor, you go to a surgeon, you do these things and that's how
- 11:18you heal. But people don't realize that
- 11:21your thoughts carry such a important and powerful
- 11:27importance in terms of how you experience life.
- 11:30And those thoughts have a frequency and that frequency
- 11:33impacts your body physically and energy gets stuck.
- 11:37And so people believe in acupuncture, right?
- 11:39Like they know that acupuncture is powerful and it can help
- 11:42people to relieve pain and, you know, it helps with fertility
- 11:46and all these things. And that's all based on the
- 11:48energy systems and the meridians in our bodies.
- 11:51And I know that horses actually have a lot of tools and things
- 11:56that people use that that are energy and frequency based that
- 12:00are super interesting. Like there's something that I
- 12:02wear around my neck. It's called AQ Link.
- 12:05Have you heard of this AQ? Link I haven't.
- 12:07So it's, it's got copper in it and then it has, it's basically
- 12:11for me, the reason that I wear it is so that I kind of my body
- 12:15and my energy system is balanced with all of the frequencies that
- 12:18are around us. And I know that people use this
- 12:21same, they have different things that you can put onto horses
- 12:25that affects their performance and effects their joints and
- 12:28things like that so that the energy is flowing in them.
- 12:31I am not a scientist, obviously, so I can't speak to this from
- 12:34like a scientific perspective. But I do know that there is a
- 12:38lot of science out there to support, you know, that the
- 12:42energy and keeping your energy flowing and copper in particular
- 12:45is very powerful. So like on the backs of my
- 12:47paintings on the wire that goes across the wire itself is not
- 12:51made of copper, but but I put a copper coil around it so that it
- 12:55balances the energy of the painting forever, you know, And
- 12:59so the cue link that I wear is over my heart.
- 13:03So in your hearts are basically like, you know, the battery of
- 13:06our body supposedly. And and so, you know, it's
- 13:10keeping everything balanced. And so just going back to the
- 13:13skeptics out there, and I've had a lot of people who've been very
- 13:16skeptical about my artwork and whether or not it sends healing
- 13:20frequencies. And my response is, whether you
- 13:22believe in it or not, just knowing the intention behind it
- 13:27is tuning your mind into the frequency of that possibility.
- 13:31So, so I think it's interesting also, like when it comes to
- 13:35horses, I have always been very sensitive to horses.
- 13:39I grew up going to camp when I was a kid.
- 13:42I had this experience, which is kind of sad, but at the same
- 13:45time, like it was so beautiful. I was like when I was about 6
- 13:49years old, maybe 5, I had a camp that I went to in the summer and
- 13:54I had a horse that I got, you know, there were farm animals
- 13:56and I had a horse. My horse was chocolate chip.
- 13:59And if there were other horses and I got to wash the horse and,
- 14:02you know, brush it. And I was so proud.
- 14:04And then the next day we went to camp to find out who won, like
- 14:07the contest of whose horse was the cleanest.
- 14:09And I saw that I had won the contest.
- 14:12The reason that I won is because Chocolate Chip was really old
- 14:15and he had died in the night. So they gave me this and I was
- 14:21like, I, I don't know why I was still so proud that I won the
- 14:25award because I Chocolate Chip and I bonded so well, you know
- 14:30what I mean? And so like, I just loved this
- 14:33horse. It wasn't even mine.
- 14:34It was just the one that I took care of at camp, you know, and
- 14:37from like from just a young age, I always felt like this
- 14:41wonderful bond with horses. My parents had a place up in
- 14:45Idaho and the property next door there are horses that do like
- 14:50the, we call it in winter, the sleigh ride.
- 14:54They lead the sleigh. And so in the summer they would
- 14:57keep them in the pasture that was right next to my parents
- 14:59house. And so every summer we look
- 15:01forward to going up there and spending time and they would
- 15:04come over and we would give them apples and carrots and just like
- 15:07bathe and their beautiful, glorious energy, you know, And
- 15:10it was so healing just being around them.
- 15:13And so anyway, and then also, I think I told you about this
- 15:17before, but my nephew, he did equine therapy.
- 15:21He has autism and there was a horse that he's, he's very low
- 15:26functioning, but he has a really good memory and he's very
- 15:29intelligent. I know he's in there.
- 15:30You know, he just has, he can't express himself.
- 15:34Anyway, so this horse, Kate, he's 25 now, but he started
- 15:38working with Kate when he was about 8 years old.
- 15:40And he just still remembers Kate.
- 15:44If you bring up Kate, he just lights up because he had such a
- 15:46beautiful connection with her. So anyway, Long story short, I
- 15:52just think that for me in particular, what I when I went
- 15:57from sort of the more traditional, I've always been
- 16:01open to the non linear path. I've always been open to the non
- 16:05traditional. I don't know why that is because
- 16:07the rest of my family is not that way.
- 16:10And so maybe it's just because I knew on some level that this was
- 16:13kind of the direction that I was going to be going in.
- 16:15I'm not sure. But, but I feel like the older
- 16:19that I've gotten, sort of the weirder I get, the more I'm open
- 16:24to more alternative things and the more I attract people into
- 16:27my life who are experiencing, you know, I have one person who
- 16:31just bought one of my paintings who's got stage 4 cancer and
- 16:35she's not going through any traditional healing modalities.
- 16:39And so, so, you know, and she's healing, you know, so, and she's
- 16:43living every life with just like the most beautiful joy and the,
- 16:46and, you know, she's trying everything and she's not afraid
- 16:50to. And so I think all of us are
- 16:52here to heal on some level. You know, we're here, here to
- 16:56heal our childhood wounds. We're here to heal, you know,
- 17:00the collective, we're heal, we're here to heal.
- 17:03And so I think, you know, any healing modalities that you can
- 17:07tap into or that you resonate with or that you have any
- 17:09curiosity toward in any way will help you to expand and heal
- 17:14ultimately. So, you know, again, going back
- 17:17to those skeptics, I think if you are driven by curiosity and
- 17:21your heart is leading you toward any type of healing modality, I
- 17:25think it's important to just explore it, even if it's just
- 17:27reading an article or a book, you know, before you actually
- 17:30spend money and to see if that's something that will actually
- 17:34help. So anyway, yeah.
- 17:37That's definitely something that brings a lot of people to
- 17:39horses. They just feel something inside
- 17:41them and they can't resist it. And then the next thing they
- 17:43know, they're with horses and owning horses and in this
- 17:46beautiful world where they share life with horses.
- 17:48So that's neat. Yeah.
- 17:51Talk to us a little bit more about your experience, your
- 17:54family in cancer. You had something that said the
- 17:57grief was relentless but beautiful.
- 17:59And I thought that phrase was so interesting because you
- 18:03experienced a lot of loss. Yeah, yeah.
- 18:06It's funny because not funny, but interesting because I never
- 18:09knew anybody who who died really.
- 18:11You know, like I had a boyfriend from college who died from
- 18:16cancer when he was 29. And my oldest daughter at the
- 18:19time, I only had one child at the time.
- 18:22She was like 8 weeks old or something, when my boyfriend
- 18:25from college died. And I remember going to his
- 18:28funeral and thinking like, this is the first person that I know
- 18:32who I've been close with his past.
- 18:34And then in 2010, so my oldest daughter was 12.
- 18:38In 2010, my mother passed. So she was, she was diagnosed
- 18:43with lung cancer. And it was she was the one in
- 18:46our family that we thought would live forever.
- 18:49Nobody in her family had cancer. But two years before she passed,
- 18:52her only brother died from pancreatic cancer.
- 18:56And then his only daughter just passed away from cancer as well.
- 19:00So my parent, my mother and her brother grew up, my grandmother
- 19:06had a garden center and I, they used to run through the fields
- 19:08where they would spray the pesticides.
- 19:10And I suspect that's probably why they had cancer.
- 19:14And so when my mom got diagnosed, she was like, she was
- 19:18the woman who was going to the gym to exercise.
- 19:21She was always eating salads and eating healthy.
- 19:23You know, like everybody thought she was going to live to be the
- 19:26oldest. And so when she got diagnosed,
- 19:28she was 67 years old and everybody was like what, you
- 19:32know, we all kind of were like it just, it was just a total
- 19:36record scratch moment for so many of us, you know, for my
- 19:39sister, for my dad, for my cousins, you know, for.
- 19:42And so that was kind of a wake up.
- 19:44And then, you know, it's interesting as my mom was total
- 19:47type A. You know, I told you she was an
- 19:49interior designer, but she started out as a design
- 19:51assistant and worked herself up to be partner in the firm.
- 19:55And this was in the 80s. Do you know what I mean?
- 19:57Like a woman doing that in the 80 process.
- 19:59Two men. Yeah.
- 20:00So this was like a big deal. But she was a badass.
- 20:03Like, excuse my French, but she just was.
- 20:05And she just was like one of those people who was just like,
- 20:09determined to do whatever she wanted to do in life.
- 20:12So when she got sick, it was interesting because the first
- 20:15thing that she did. Was go to the Chopra center.
- 20:17She was like so far outside of her box like and the only reason
- 20:21why she went is because I was friends.
- 20:24I was in a business mastermind with a man whose father was
- 20:29business partners with Deepak. And my friend had done all of
- 20:32the courses and things that they had offered at the he was in
- 20:36charge of the courses at the Chopra Center.
- 20:38And so when my mom got diagnosed, I sent him an e-mail
- 20:41and said, hey, my mom just got diagnosed with lung cancer.
- 20:44Do you or your dad have any recommendations for her?
- 20:46So she went down to the Chopra Center.
- 20:48She learned how to meditate. She did a week long retreat down
- 20:53there. She learned how to eat healthy.
- 20:55She came back with CDs. This was, you know, back when
- 20:58people were still using CDs. But she had meditation CDs.
- 21:03She had. Yeah, she had like, this whole
- 21:05diet. She had all these books on
- 21:07quantum physics. And, you know, Deepak Chopra's
- 21:11people aren't really thinking so great of him now with the
- 21:13Epstein stuff that came out. But there was value in what he
- 21:17was teaching and she definitely found peace in the process of
- 21:22learning how to meditate and her energy completely shifted.
- 21:26So, you know, I have a different view as a result of watching my
- 21:31mom go through this because my mom and I were very close.
- 21:34I had a difficult relationship with my dad because I wasn't
- 21:37kind of the corporate ladder like my sister was, more like he
- 21:40was. And I was kind of more creative
- 21:42and he just didn't understand me, whereas my mom was creative.
- 21:45So she did. And so anyway, when she got sick
- 21:49and watching her, I would meditate with her.
- 21:52I was already into all of these things, so it was nothing new
- 21:55for me. But it was so beautiful to
- 21:57witness her not being afraid of the cancer and not being afraid
- 22:02to try new things that were completely outside of her realm.
- 22:06And, you know, she was the go to a therapist, to go to a doctor,
- 22:09get a pill, do all of the things that, you know, we're kind of
- 22:12taught to do. And so it's interesting to see
- 22:14her go outside of that. And then when she passed, I
- 22:19couldn't even speak at her memorial because I was the only
- 22:23one that was with her when she passed.
- 22:26And she passed in my arms. And, and at the moment that she
- 22:29passed, it was like I realized in that moment, oh, this is it.
- 22:35She's going. And then I looked at her and I
- 22:37literally saw her spirit exit her body.
- 22:40It was the craziest thing. And then I, you know, just laid
- 22:43her back and, and as that was going on, I just was telling
- 22:47her, I love you. I love you.
- 22:48I love you because I was thinking to myself, this woman
- 22:52brought me into the world and as hard as this is right now, I get
- 22:55to be with her as she leaves the world.
- 22:58And so like, what is more beautiful than that?
- 23:01Do you know what I mean? Like we come here and in and I
- 23:04didn't think about that up until that moment.
- 23:06That wasn't like a thought. And so I don't know if I was
- 23:10receiving information to help, you know, make the IT kind of a
- 23:13more gentle landing or if my sort of higher self was aware of
- 23:17this or what was going on. But at the time, and I just was
- 23:20going with it, you know? And so things shifted for me
- 23:24significantly after that because I just saw life in such a
- 23:27different way. And I didn't see dying as
- 23:30something that was something to be avoided because you can't
- 23:33avoid it. We're all going to die until my
- 23:36mom being this woman who we thought was going to live
- 23:39forever and she was the 1st to go was really a powerful moment
- 23:44for my girls. We were all actually living in
- 23:47my parents house with them at that time because we had a home
- 23:50that we were renting and we were in between closing on a house
- 23:53that we were buying. So we were actually living in
- 23:55the house with my parents. My girls were asleep when my mom
- 23:58died. So it was like death was
- 24:01something that my girls were very familiar with.
- 24:04And then my father-in-law had dementia and he passed away.
- 24:08And then my sister got diagnosed.
- 24:10My, my father had bladder of cancer, which wasn't as scary
- 24:13because his treatment was not that long and then he was fine.
- 24:18But when my sister got diagnosed, she was a later stage
- 24:22and she, and it was just my sister and I.
- 24:26And so it was, it ended up being, you know, a longer
- 24:29journey with my sister. It was four years and she had
- 24:32three kids or has three kids. And so, you know, that was kind
- 24:36of a harder thing because, you know, they have had to learn how
- 24:40to, you know, kind of navigate the world without a mom, which
- 24:43many people do. And these kids are thriving.
- 24:46They're doing amazing. I'm going to my nephew, my
- 24:49youngest nephews college graduation in May.
- 24:52My sister would be so proud and you know, her daughter's doing
- 24:56great and her oldest son that has autism is being well taken
- 25:00care of and you know, so everything is fine.
- 25:04Everybody's doing all the things.
- 25:06But the what's beautiful about the journeys that they all had
- 25:11is that every single relationship that they had
- 25:15before they got diagnosed versus after and then through their
- 25:19treatment was so beautiful. It was, it allowed people to
- 25:23show up in ways that they never would have showed up had that
- 25:27cancer not happened. Do you know what I mean?
- 25:29Like it allowed them to show how much my mom and my sister meant.
- 25:33It allowed them to just just express themselves in ways and
- 25:38heal in ways that they wouldn't have been able to heal if that
- 25:41hadn't happened. So I just have a different view.
- 25:44I really do. And so this person that just
- 25:46this woman that just bought this painting on stage 4 cancer, her
- 25:50husband had just passed away less than a year ago.
- 25:53And so she saw this painting and it really spoke to her and she's
- 25:57living this most beautiful life. And she really views cancer as a
- 26:01gift. And so, you know, I think it
- 26:04would be interesting for us to kind of look at dis ease in the
- 26:08physical body as a way that our body is speaking to us so that
- 26:14we can learn certain things that we wouldn't learn had that not
- 26:17happened. And of course we don't want to
- 26:19get sick. Do you know what I mean?
- 26:21But when we do get sick, what is our body trying to tell us?
- 26:24And I know that horses actually have a really interesting
- 26:28instinct with this. I've seen some healers that work
- 26:31with these horses that know exactly what's going on
- 26:33physically, and they know how to.
- 26:35I don't know what they're healing energy is, but it's
- 26:37powerful. Yeah.
- 26:41Yeah, I've definitely heard some stories as well that would be
- 26:45described as miraculous when people have gone to work with
- 26:48horses. So, yeah, talk with us about
- 26:52some of the things that you found helpful moving forward
- 26:56from that. And one thing you touched on was
- 27:00the power of our thoughts, which is such a huge 1, something we
- 27:02don't really talk about in terms of health a lot of the time, but
- 27:07it is so impactful. And even as you were talking
- 27:09about that, some very tragic situations that lots of people
- 27:14would see, but you talked about it in a beautiful way and how
- 27:19even just thinking about things and the way we choose to think
- 27:23about them can alter our entire experience.
- 27:27Yeah, yeah. I mean, so we have a choice
- 27:31every single day, what we focus on and how we react and show up
- 27:35to life as it presents itself to us.
- 27:39And I think, you know, especially over the last few
- 27:41years, it's just been relentless in terms of what's been going on
- 27:45in the collective. And so I think a lot of people
- 27:49tend to, and I just actually wrote something on my sub stack
- 27:52about, you know, kind of how to set yourself free right now from
- 27:56all the noise in the world because it's very, it's like
- 28:00roadkill when you're driving, you can't help but look at it.
- 28:03Do you know what I mean? What's going on in the news?
- 28:06And I think a lot of people and I and I've gotten into
- 28:08discussions kind of heated ones with somebody.
- 28:11I don't get heated, but other people do where they feel it's
- 28:13like you have a civic or or a responsibility to know what's
- 28:18going on in the world. And unfortunately, I think it is
- 28:22important to know what's going on in the world to some degree.
- 28:25And you need to also check in with your body because if you're
- 28:28having physical things going on with your body and you're tuning
- 28:31into things like the news every single day, you're not
- 28:34necessarily doing something that's good for you.
- 28:37And so our thoughts create energy and our, and they carry a
- 28:41frequency. And so when that's in our body
- 28:43and it's stuck and every day it's like the equivalent of
- 28:47eating something that's really bad for us, but we're thinking
- 28:51it. And so every day we're eating
- 28:52that thing that's really bad. And they say, you know, like
- 28:55everything in moderation. Well, I don't know, with the
- 28:58news of the world these days, I don't even know if if knowing
- 29:02that in moderation is good for us because it's so everywhere
- 29:07that you look, it's local, it's national, it's, you know,
- 29:10global. And so I personally believe that
- 29:14we have a choice. It all comes down to choices.
- 29:18What do we choose to do with ourselves every day?
- 29:21Do you want to create in the world or do you want to consume?
- 29:24And when you're consuming, what are you getting from that?
- 29:26If you're getting something that's a lower frequency that
- 29:29doesn't really feel good, but you're kind of just like out of
- 29:32habit, going back to that pattern, it's important to kind
- 29:35of look. At, which is super easy to go
- 29:37at, yeah. Yeah, especially because
- 29:39everybody's got their phones, you know, So it's important.
- 29:42Everywhere. Yeah, it's important for people
- 29:45to really be questioning, like, why am I doing this?
- 29:47And if it's just out of habit, how can I shift that habit?
- 29:51So one of the things that I wrote about today was creating a
- 29:55list of things that feel good to you.
- 29:57Like, what are the things that you know are good for you and
- 29:59that feel good for your soul? And it's different for
- 30:02everybody. You know, riding a horse, if you
- 30:04can't ride a horse, watching, you know, a movie about a horse
- 30:08or just thinking about a horse or meditating on a horse, you
- 30:11know, whatever it is, or just thinking about a beautiful
- 30:13experience that you had with a horse, you know, or how horses
- 30:17make you feel and just tuning into that frequency.
- 30:19Because I think for a lot of us, you know, horses have that
- 30:23magical energy. And so to be able to just like
- 30:25close your eyes anytime that you find yourself sort of doom
- 30:29scrolling or whatever, you know, and be like, wait, I don't want
- 30:32to do this. And So what is what are the
- 30:34things on your list that help you to feel good and elevated
- 30:38and that bring you joy? Going for a walk, being in
- 30:41nature, sitting in the sun, putting your feet on the ground,
- 30:44watching a funny movie, you know, whatever it is, turning on
- 30:48music that you love, having a dance party, you know, all of
- 30:50these things help move energy through our body.
- 30:53And I think that's another important thing is if you do
- 30:56find yourself in that kind of doom scroll or you do find
- 31:00yourself getting upset by the news of the world, move your
- 31:04body, get up and turn on music and move your body.
- 31:07Or, you know, go for a walk and breathe and be consciously
- 31:11moving energy through your physical vessel so that it
- 31:14doesn't get stuck, you know, And so, and then so that you are,
- 31:19you know, kind of running the energy through you.
- 31:22And you know, again, I'm not a scientist or anything, you know,
- 31:26in that realm. I'm an artist.
- 31:27But what I do know is that, you know, from Nikola Tesla and
- 31:31Albert Einstein and all these people, they all said that
- 31:34frequency was, was where the medical world was going to be
- 31:37focused eventually. And so right now we know that
- 31:41our thoughts carry the frequency.
- 31:42And so if we want to heal ourselves, we are, you know, if
- 31:47we're choosing a high frequency, then when we go out into the
- 31:49world, that frequency is spread around us.
- 31:53You know, just like if we're in a lower vibration frequency when
- 31:56we walk into a room, people who are sensitive can feel that.
- 32:00And so, you know, do we want to be spreading energy in the world
- 32:03that helps lift people up or do we want to be spreading energy
- 32:06in the world because we want other people to kind of, you
- 32:10know, we want to carry the weight of the world.
- 32:14What good is that doing? You know, what good is that
- 32:16doing for anybody? When we're carrying that weight
- 32:19and we're carrying that out into the world, then that makes other
- 32:21people who are empaths feel that weight.
- 32:24Whereas if we're keeping our energy high and I don't need to
- 32:27bypass, you know, like, obviously if you have emotions
- 32:30or situations, you want to feel those emotions.
- 32:33But again, scientifically, there was a study that was done that
- 32:37said we only need to feel an emotion for 90 seconds in order
- 32:42to process it. So if we know that we're feeling
- 32:44sad or upset or angry, look at the clock, allow yourself 90
- 32:48seconds and then exhale it out and move your body to release
- 32:52it. And that's all you need to do.
- 32:53And if you keep feeling it, then feel it and release it and
- 32:56choosing to keep release it, it'll, it'll, you know, the
- 33:00impact that it'll have, the weight that it'll carry will be
- 33:03less and less every time that it comes up.
- 33:05But again, it's those choices. Yeah, that's interesting.
- 33:09I hadn't heard that one, but it does make sense.
- 33:12We do need to feel those emotions, but the problem comes
- 33:15when we start ruminating on them and staying with them and making
- 33:18them a part of who we are. Yeah, for sure.
- 33:21Yeah, yeah. And you talked about creating or
- 33:25consuming, which I think is so interesting because the more
- 33:29that we consume, especially things that aren't good for us,
- 33:31it really does become part of who we are.
- 33:35I was recently on Facebook and someone posted how horrible the
- 33:38world is. And I thought it's so
- 33:40interesting that we say that because a lot of people do say
- 33:43that. A lot of people feel that, think
- 33:44that. And if we look at it from that
- 33:47perspective, certainly we will also feel that there's plenty of
- 33:50bad things that are happening, plenty of wrongs that are
- 33:53happening, children that are not being taken care of the way they
- 33:56should, all those things. But we can also look at it and
- 34:01see how much amazing good there is.
- 34:03Like we have never had more opportunity, more comfort, you
- 34:08know, so many things where our world right now offers also a
- 34:12lot of good. So talk with us a little bit
- 34:15more about creation versus consumption and how we can learn
- 34:21more into creation to help our internal state of being.
- 34:27I love this question. This is a good one.
- 34:29Yes. So there's so many parts to
- 34:31this. So again, going back to, you
- 34:35know, when it comes to what you want to create, because not
- 34:38everybody is an artist or they don't think of themselves as
- 34:41being an artist. And a lot of times when you say
- 34:43create versus consume, people are like, well, I'm not an
- 34:45artist, but you don't have to be an artist.
- 34:49You can be everybody is an artist in some way.
- 34:51You know, if if you're making food, you can create food that
- 34:54is beautiful and nutritious and nourishment, you know, it's just
- 34:58like pure nourishment. You can create thoughts in your
- 35:00mind that are higher frequency. You can create special routines
- 35:05and rituals in your day that allow you to feel levity and
- 35:09that do you know, I think I have 7 healing practices that I talk
- 35:15about. So there's grounding,
- 35:17inspiration, movement, nourishment, gratitude,
- 35:19forgiveness and grace. And I believe that those 7
- 35:22practices, if we practice every single one of those, we create a
- 35:27foundation for our Wellness that is pretty solid.
- 35:30You know, I mean, you really can become your own greatest healer
- 35:33if you practice those seven things every day.
- 35:36So we can just, you know, kind of talk about creation from that
- 35:39perspective. So if you're grounding every day
- 35:42and from a creation perspective, that just means choosing to be
- 35:47connected to the earth and the present moment until when you're
- 35:52grounded, you're able to create. Because when you're consuming,
- 35:55if you're online, for instance, and you're reading something,
- 35:58you're in your mind, you're out of your body.
- 36:01So the whole concept of grounding is being back in your
- 36:04body. So what brings you into your
- 36:05body? Breath, you know, focusing on
- 36:08the present moment. Sometimes it's just taking
- 36:10inventory of the things around you.
- 36:13I'm sitting, you know, I have a roof over my head.
- 36:15I'm warm right now. You know, just kind of taking
- 36:18inventory of things in this present moment so that you can
- 36:21bring ourself back in because, again, we tend to be up out of
- 36:24our bodies in our thoughts. And so that brings you back
- 36:27down. Yeah.
- 36:28So that's why grounding and putting your feet on the earth
- 36:30is so powerful. And again, like, because we are
- 36:33these kind of batteries, when we put our feet on the earth, it's
- 36:37like when you when you are starting a car battery, you have
- 36:41to ground one of the wires. And so that is how you restart
- 36:46the battery. It's the same thing with us.
- 36:47We put our feet on the ground and we're recharging our
- 36:51batteries and balancing the energy in our system.
- 36:53So it's super important. And then inspiration inspires
- 36:57like in spirit. So it is the things that help
- 37:00lift our spirit, the joy that we find.
- 37:03And you know, it's like we all know what brought us joy when we
- 37:06were kids. And for some reason as we get
- 37:09older and we have the responsibilities, we forget what
- 37:12brought us joy when we were kids.
- 37:14So just trying to remember, like, what did you love to do?
- 37:16Did you love running through the forest?
- 37:18Did you love digging in sand? You know, what is that?
- 37:21And then go do that, you know, do some form of that wherever
- 37:25you are and do it with the intention of being inspired.
- 37:29And, you know, for some people being inspired is going to an
- 37:32Art Museum or, you know, listening to motivational, you
- 37:37know, like Neville Goddard and, you know, like people like Jim
- 37:40Rohn and, and you know, listening to these kind of pep
- 37:43talks, spiritual pep talks. I love doing that.
- 37:46You know, there's, I think it's called Be Better Every Day,
- 37:49which is a podcast that has these old inspiring talks.
- 37:52I listen to that when I'm getting ready in the morning,
- 37:54you know, just to kind of inspire myself.
- 37:56For me, that works. And then movement is not just
- 38:00about moving your body, although we all need to do that.
- 38:03Going for a walk, you know, yoga, whatever it is moving, but
- 38:06it's also just like not keeping your thoughts stagnant.
- 38:10So it's allowing thoughts to move through you.
- 38:13So if you notice that you keep having a recurring thought, that
- 38:16means it's stuck, that's blocked energy.
- 38:19So, you know, noticing, OK, I am feeling, I'm thinking this
- 38:23thought and then noticing, do I feel it in my body somewhere?
- 38:26And then thinking like, why is it that I'm like, what is the
- 38:29message in this thought? And if it's not a useful
- 38:32thought, then OK, I'm going to let it go.
- 38:34And then just exhaling it out and releasing it, you know, and
- 38:37then what thought do I want to choose to replace it?
- 38:40You know, what's a higher vibration thought or what's an
- 38:42empowering thought? And then nourishment is the same
- 38:45type of thing where, you know, we think of nourishment with the
- 38:48food that we eat, but it's also the choices that we make.
- 38:51It's also so that, you know, everything, the food that we
- 38:54eat, the choices we make, the people we surround ourselves
- 38:57with, are these people feel, yeah, filling us up or are they
- 39:00draining us? And if they're draining us,
- 39:01well, let's figure out how we can, you know, move toward the
- 39:05people that do fill our cup. And then, you know, forgiveness,
- 39:08gratitude, those are obviously so important right now.
- 39:12And just like you said, where people think like the world is a
- 39:14horrible place, anytime that you catch yourself thinking
- 39:18something like that, know that yes, if you turn on the news,
- 39:21they report on all of the bad things because that's what keeps
- 39:24the ratings up. It's not because that's what's
- 39:26good for us. But if you did, think about what
- 39:29are all the babies being born? Look at all the butterflies that
- 39:32are flying around. Look at all that, you know, like
- 39:34look for this. Listen to the birds.
- 39:37Listen to and look at all of the beautiful things that are going.
- 39:41Look at the flowers that are growing up through the concrete.
- 39:44Do you know what I mean? Like look for the blessings and
- 39:47the magic because it's around. If you look for it, you will
- 39:50find it, just like if you look for what's wrong, you'll find
- 39:53that too. So it's just tuning your
- 39:55frequency to what it is that you want to think and feel.
- 39:58And it's not bypassing. You have to acknowledge always.
- 40:02Like I always go back to, we want to make sure we're not
- 40:05bypassing anything. We're definitely like
- 40:07acknowledge, yes, there is suffering in the world.
- 40:10There always has been and probably always will be.
- 40:12That's how we grow. If everything was comfortable
- 40:15and perfect all the time, we wouldn't grow.
- 40:18So we go back to things like cancer, which every.
- 40:21Everybody thinks is this horrible thing.
- 40:23And I know that when people get the diagnosis of cancer, they're
- 40:26immediately confronted with their concept of death because
- 40:29that's the first thing that you think.
- 40:32And so, you know, death is not a final horrible thing.
- 40:36It is a transition from physical and to spirit.
- 40:38And I know that because I've seen so many people, I've
- 40:41actually physically witnessed people die.
- 40:44And I know that it is not, it is the end of a struggle.
- 40:47It's not the beginning of a struggle.
- 40:49And I know that you know, whether no matter what religion
- 40:53you are, we definitely move into spirit and it is a lighter place
- 40:57to be. And there is so much healing
- 40:59that we do here, even though it is hard.
- 41:02We heal, we learn, and we grow through challenge.
- 41:05So if the world is hard right now, it's because we're learning
- 41:08and we're growing. Yeah, and very true also.
- 41:11Those are the places that we learn, are the places that are
- 41:13uncomfortable and difficult and a struggle.
- 41:16That's where we get new knowledge and wisdom in our
- 41:20life. I love to your discussion of
- 41:23creation because we do often have a specific idea of what
- 41:27creating something is, whether that's art or poetry or music.
- 41:32And I was talking with my husband about this the other day
- 41:35and he's very analytical, very data oriented.
- 41:38And he was saying just how he admired people that can make
- 41:41music because that's way off his radar.
- 41:44But I thought about him and he will go out in the woods.
- 41:46We have some acreage and he we'll go out there and work to
- 41:50make trails that are better and things like that.
- 41:52And it's something that really grounds him like you talked
- 41:55about. And I was thinking like right
- 41:57there, you think of stuff that I would never consider, like I
- 42:00would not be like, let's see how we can make this path flatter or
- 42:02whatever. I'd just be like, let's walk on
- 42:04the side. That's a lot of work.
- 42:05So that creation, that creative energy can come to us in so many
- 42:09different ways. It doesn't have to look like
- 42:11anything specific. And I think we are all meant to
- 42:15be creators. So the trick maybe is finding,
- 42:18well, where are you creating things to add to the world,
- 42:20whether that's, you know, beautiful art or something that
- 42:24maybe we wouldn't normally look at in that way.
- 42:27Something that's more analytical or scientific leaning.
- 42:31Also places where we can create versus consuming.
- 42:34Talk a little bit more about how we can improve our intuition and
- 42:40our clarity in life. Yeah.
- 42:42So it's interesting because it it it, it goes along with this
- 42:45idea of consumption versus creation.
- 42:48So when we're in that creative space, we're in touch with our
- 42:52intuition. And our intuition is basically
- 42:54the voice of our soul. And so when we want to get more
- 42:59in that intuitive space, we have to quiet down and not be
- 43:02consuming and allow ourselves to be still.
- 43:06And so that's really challenging.
- 43:08It's really challenging because especially so I don't have a
- 43:11smartphone, but I remember how it was when I had one and I have
- 43:14an iPad and I am online, so I'm not like completely
- 43:17disconnected, but I don't have the same tendencies.
- 43:21So the majority of people, for instance, will have their
- 43:24smartphone and they'll be walking down the street with
- 43:28their smartphone in front of them.
- 43:29They'll be standing in line for coffee with their smartphone in
- 43:32front of them. They'll be waiting in line to
- 43:34get on an airplane with their smartphone in front of them.
- 43:36It's always in front of them. And so if you want to be in
- 43:40touch with your intuition, if your smartphones in front of
- 43:43your face, you're never going to be in touch with your intuition
- 43:45because you're constantly seeking information outside of
- 43:48yourself and your intuition is inside of yourself.
- 43:51So if you want to be connected with your intuition, a lot of
- 43:54Mystics and psychics say you need to be meditating.
- 43:57And a lot of people have a really big problem with the idea
- 44:00of meditation. And so I have to say that at
- 44:03times when I don't want to sit still, like sometimes your body
- 44:06just wants to move and you still want to receive that kind of
- 44:09message from your soul. And so for me, and I know a lot
- 44:12of other people, they receive that information when they're
- 44:15walking. No, no headphones in while
- 44:19you're walking either 'cause that's essentially just a
- 44:22different form of the screen in front of your face, right?
- 44:25So I can, I can say with one exception, and that is if you're
- 44:29listening to healing frequency music, because that will affect
- 44:32your energy and your body. But if you're not listening to
- 44:34healing frequency music that's specifically attuned to
- 44:37connecting you with your intuition, then don't listen to
- 44:40anything. Because when you're out in
- 44:42nature, you do hear the birds sing and you do notice things
- 44:45that you don't notice otherwise. And then that allows you to
- 44:49notice and, and hear messages from your soul.
- 44:53And so if you want to get out of that sort of consumption habit,
- 44:57the first thing to do is to notice when you're doing it.
- 45:00And then to choose a different pattern.
- 45:03If it's a, you know, if it's like, if you want to think about
- 45:05it as a thought loop, it's reframing the thoughts, it's
- 45:08reframing your habits. And it's really like if you want
- 45:11to go into that intuitive space, it's giving yourself time.
- 45:15If your day is really busy with work physically where you can't
- 45:19really like take time to go for a walk, then take like 10
- 45:23minutes before you go to bed at night.
- 45:25And I turn on healing frequency music every single night before
- 45:29I go to sleep to allow my system time to, to, to, to wind down.
- 45:34And I don't sometimes it'll have like, you know, I'll put it on
- 45:37YouTube and it'll have, you know, like a graphic or
- 45:39something. But most of the time it's just a
- 45:41black screen with specific healing frequencies to help my
- 45:45nervous system to just chill out.
- 45:47And then that sends a signal to my body that I'm in that space
- 45:51and I'll receive, I sometimes have like my journal next to me
- 45:54and I'll get, you know, kind of things that I want to write
- 45:56down. But if you just allow yourself
- 45:59that space in the morning is a good time to do it as well.
- 46:03Because then you start your day not from like hitting the ground
- 46:06running and starting everything, but from a very gentle, you
- 46:09know, it kind of eases your nervous system into the day.
- 46:12It's a really beautiful way to start the day.
- 46:14I think like before you get your coffee or your tea or whatever,
- 46:17just sitting with yourself for just a few moments to just kind
- 46:20of breathe and, and then you'll receive messages and throughout
- 46:23the day you'll want to tune back into that quiet space.
- 46:26So if you can start and end the day with that, I think that's a
- 46:30good way to start developing a closer relationship with your
- 46:34intuition. Yeah, that's beautiful.
- 46:37I'm making it intentional. I know in the horse world, a lot
- 46:40of people will say, like cleaning the horse stalls is
- 46:42like where you get the inspiration.
- 46:44And it's that same idea that you're freeing that space around
- 46:49you to become open to that and to listen, like you say, from
- 46:52the inside out instead of listening out all the outside
- 46:55voices. So I love that.
- 46:56And I think anyone can find it, whether it's turning off
- 46:59everything while you're driving, That can even be a space.
- 47:03I think it's easy to make excuses.
- 47:05I don't have time, but it's so easy to turn your phone on and
- 47:07you're like, oops, I just scrolled for 30 minutes when I
- 47:11got on there to check my calendar or something.
- 47:13Yeah. So that intention really makes a
- 47:16huge difference. Everything that I want to say,
- 47:19and just cuz I know that this is kind of like something that's
- 47:22been coming up is the algorithm is designed to make you addicted
- 47:26to it. So for me, being sort of like
- 47:29the rebel by nature, as soon as I think about the fact that
- 47:33that's designed to suck me in, I'm like, I'm not doing it.
- 47:38You know. So if you have like that rebel
- 47:41nature, just remind yourself, like, this is designed to make
- 47:44me lose myself in it and it's not designed for my best
- 47:48interest. So if I want to take my power
- 47:50back and sort of have my best interests at heart, what do I
- 47:54want to be doing with my time, you know?
- 47:56Yeah, great point too, because it is highly designed to keep us
- 48:00on there. That is the goal of the people
- 48:03that created it. How long can we keep an audience
- 48:05on there and cycle through that? What if we created, designed our
- 48:11life with the same intention that we really had something we
- 48:15wanted to accomplish and our design focused on that.
- 48:18It's really easy to to lose it and just go with what comes
- 48:23easy. And they've already designed
- 48:25that addictive nature for us. So, but if we could turn it.
- 48:29Yeah. And to your point, I think a lot
- 48:31of people have lost touch with what it is that they want in
- 48:34life because they're so used to sort of giving their attention
- 48:38away. And so that's why like for me,
- 48:41like my art was the was the original catalyst to doing my
- 48:46creative work, but the work that I'm doing.
- 48:48And I think you're doing as well as just allowing people to like
- 48:52holding space for people to reconnect with themselves in a
- 48:55way that they never would. Because if they just keep doing
- 48:58the things that are, you know, like scrolling and watching TV
- 49:02and doing all the things that society sort of normalizes, it
- 49:06completely takes us away from who we are and why we're here,
- 49:10You know, and I think horses really do remind us how
- 49:15important it is to just be these beautiful majestic beings that
- 49:18we are. We don't need to have, you know,
- 49:21kind of all the status and material things and whatever.
- 49:25We are beautiful, majestic beings, just as horses are, you
- 49:28know. Yeah, definitely a huge degree
- 49:32of acceptance there with horses. That's something that we talked
- 49:35a lot about on the podcast, how being in a place where you're
- 49:38accepted exactly who you are and realizing that like that's a
- 49:43good thing. Yeah, that's very relevant topic
- 49:47in the in the things that we talked about.
- 49:50Talk a little bit more about how if people have maybe lost
- 49:53themselves, gotten caught up in, you know, the path that we're
- 49:57supposed to take, the consumerism, all those other
- 50:00things. What are some things that we can
- 50:02do to lean well to 1st find and then lean into more of our souls
- 50:07mission, the thing that we feel called to do or we feel drawn
- 50:11to? And maybe how can we even find
- 50:13that if we have no idea what that might be?
- 50:16Yeah, a great question. So I there's two places that I
- 50:20start with everybody. And the first thing is your
- 50:22values. What are the values that are
- 50:25important to you? And it doesn't matter how much
- 50:28media you consume, you know what's important to you.
- 50:31And I think the majority of people are very connected to and
- 50:36attached to helping save the world because they have
- 50:40something inside of themselves that wants to be of service to
- 50:43others. They just don't know what that
- 50:45is and they don't know where they can fit it into the life
- 50:49that they've already created. And so, you know, looking for
- 50:52ways that you're already being of service to others.
- 50:55Maybe it's small things like I said before, like I was always
- 50:58the person that my friends would come to for, you know, advice or
- 51:02feedback or just to listen. If that's something that, you
- 51:04know, you find yourself doing, then how can you do that a
- 51:07little bit more? You don't have to necessarily,
- 51:10you know, start a career or anything doing that, but maybe
- 51:13just notice when you are doing that how it feels and how the
- 51:17other person feels and then just go from there.
- 51:20Just tuning into what you're already good at, you know, is a
- 51:24really important thing because a lot of times, you know, and I
- 51:28actually used to coach people, I'm building passion based
- 51:31businesses. And I think that's, you know,
- 51:33back when I was doing that about 20 years ago, you know, 1520
- 51:37years ago, there wasn't as much noise going on in the world as
- 51:41there is now. And because of that, I think
- 51:43people can't even think about what they're passionate about
- 51:46because they just don't know when they see cats and dogs and
- 51:49all these things on the their algorithm and they're like,
- 51:52that's what I'm interested in, you know, But I think going back
- 51:55to what you were interested in as a kid is a huge indicator.
- 51:59You know, maybe when you were a kid, you wanted to be an
- 52:01astronaut and you don't want to be an astronaut anymore.
- 52:04But what was it about being an astronaut that somehow, you
- 52:08know, and just kind of digging into that.
- 52:10I think journaling is super powerful for people if they want
- 52:13to do that self exploration. And so yeah, I would, I would
- 52:18start with your values and just writing down a list of like what
- 52:21your top five to 10 values are. And then, you know, going from
- 52:25there, I would look at what your strengths are because when you
- 52:29have natural strengths, that's kind of those are your gifts.
- 52:33You know, those are the things that come easy to you.
- 52:35And they say, you know, if you want to create, you want to
- 52:39create work that feels like play, not that feels like a job.
- 52:44So you know, what are the things that you're good at and that are
- 52:47easy for you? And, and you know, cuz something
- 52:50that's easy for you might not be easy for me.
- 52:53And so there's something there. And so just kind of exploring
- 52:56that. And also like, you know, when it
- 52:58comes to life purpose, so many of my clients come to like
- 53:02expecting their life purpose to be this big grand thing.
- 53:06And I don't think that your life purpose is what you do.
- 53:09I think your life purpose is who you are and how you show up.
- 53:12And sometimes, like maybe, maybe my purpose, part of it was to be
- 53:15there for my mom when she passed.
- 53:17And then part of my purpose is to be a good mom to my daughters
- 53:20and they're navigating this world and to be a Good Wife to
- 53:23my husband and to, you know, And so that's all part of our
- 53:26purpose. And so I think it's really about
- 53:28being aware, not attached to any type of accolades or
- 53:34achievements, but just being aware of what we've already been
- 53:37doing naturally and then just expanding on that, you know, and
- 53:41being kind of mindful about what we're bringing into the world
- 53:45and how we're showing up. Yeah, that's a beautiful point.
- 53:48I think in the culture of the United States, a lot of times we
- 53:52do define ourselves by how we make money.
- 53:54And that's not necessarily who we have to be.
- 53:57And even our life purpose can be outside of that.
- 53:59Like money might just be the necessity we need to take care
- 54:02of our families and ourselves and what not, and purpose and
- 54:07who we are and the things that we should be spending on our
- 54:10time on don't necessarily have to be attached to our income.
- 54:14They may be, they could be. I know a lot of people who do it
- 54:17and it's amazing when you can find that.
- 54:19But that doesn't necessarily need to limit you.
- 54:21If that's not the case for you, what is some advice you would
- 54:24give someone who's deep in the trenches of things?
- 54:28You know, we talked about meditating and going on walks,
- 54:30and that sounds great. And sometimes life gets really
- 54:33overwhelming, and it's really difficult to find time to feed
- 54:39our soul in the way that would be helpful to us.
- 54:42And sometimes the emotions can get so overwhelming if you're
- 54:46really just feeling overwhelmed, like you don't know your way
- 54:50through. What are some things you would
- 54:52suggest for people? Yeah, I think the number one
- 54:55thing, and it's really hard to sometimes for people who are
- 54:59really in it, in the thick of it.
- 55:00And I've been there, you know, But I think if you can always
- 55:04test yourself and develop when you're not in the thick of it,
- 55:08develop a practice of thinking the things that you're grateful
- 55:11for. Then when you're in the trenches
- 55:14and you're going through these difficult times, just knowing
- 55:17that you're learning things and so trying to figure out what it
- 55:21is that you need to be grateful for in that moment.
- 55:24So for instance, when my sister was going through the last
- 55:28couple of weeks of her life, it was very hard.
- 55:33And she was in and out of the hospital and I was having to,
- 55:36you know, feed her through. It was just a very intense
- 55:39period of time. And then her kids, she didn't
- 55:41want to be like knowing what was going on.
- 55:44And so keeping that bubble around them.
- 55:46And at the same time, I was having all these, I'm so
- 55:50sensitive to the spirit world. So I was seeing like flashes
- 55:53and, you know, crazy things going on.
- 55:55And it was very overwhelming and at the same time so beautiful.
- 56:00And so I think when you are in the trenches of what's going on,
- 56:04remind yourself that if you look for them, you will see things to
- 56:08be grateful for. If you look for things, you will
- 56:10see beauty and, and even if it means that somebody's life is
- 56:14coming to an end, you will have, if you do, you will have grief.
- 56:19And in that in grief, it's the proof that you loved somebody
- 56:23and that you were, you felt so intensely loved and you still
- 56:26love this person. Grief is just basically
- 56:29unexpressed love and so finding, you know, reframing the things
- 56:35that could kind of send you downward in terms of the
- 56:38frequency and trying to find the things that will help lift you
- 56:41up and again, surrounding yourself with people and
- 56:44circumstances that do help elevate you energetically.
- 56:49So that and gratitude is the highest frequency and it's the
- 56:52easiest way. So for anybody who is depressed,
- 56:57finding things to be grateful for, even if it feels in that
- 57:00moment like you're not really physically feeling the
- 57:02gratitude, but knowing the gratitude, the more that you
- 57:05kind of exercise that muscle, the easier it is and the, and
- 57:09the faster it will help, you know, kind of raise your
- 57:12frequency to a more higher vibration state where you're
- 57:18happier and, and kind of able to be enjoy.
- 57:20And it's interesting because when we were going through this
- 57:24very difficult time with my sister and then right after, you
- 57:27know, and, or right after my mom died or yeah, right after my mom
- 57:30died and then my dad got sick and, you know, then my sister
- 57:33and all of these things that were going on, it just was
- 57:38really hard sometimes in the thick of it to think of what I
- 57:41was grateful for. But if you remember to do it,
- 57:45it's like this gift that you're giving yourself.
- 57:47And then, you know, when you have children or when you have
- 57:49people around you who are struggling and you can remind
- 57:52them that gratitude is the way through.
- 57:55Gratitude is the way through. Yeah, yeah.
- 57:58And I agree that sometimes it can be, especially when things
- 58:01are really heavy and overwhelming, it can just be the
- 58:03smallest step in the right direction, which in that moment
- 58:06might just be finding one thing you're grateful for, that you
- 58:10can see the sun out the window or whatever it might be.
- 58:14That can help alter our direction a little bit and also
- 58:17reset our minds a little bit so that we can learn more more into
- 58:21that, even when it's really difficult.
- 58:23Yeah, yeah, for sure. Beautiful.
- 58:26To wrap up, can you share with everyone where they can find you
- 58:30how they can take advantage of your knowledge and the work that
- 58:33you do? Yeah, thank you.
