- 0:02Speaker 1: What is going on everyone? Welcome to Strike Up Your Podcast.
- 0:05Speaker 1: Your least favorite podcast with your pals Alan and Repa Dave.
- 0:08Speaker 1: I'm Alan.
- 0:09Speaker 2: BGD here, buddy. How are you?
- 0:12Speaker 1: I'm doing good, man. We're here for a beer and
- 0:14Speaker 1: a chat. That's what we're doing right now. We're just
- 0:16Speaker 1: kind of drinking randos. And a hot button topic right
- 0:21Speaker 1: now we're going to discuss. We're not really going to
- 0:23Speaker 1: discuss it. I got a new story about it.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 0:29Speaker 1: And we'll discuss the new story. How about that?
- 0:31Speaker 2: Sounds good.
- 0:32Speaker 1: I sound good. Uh, Dateline, um, is going to take
- 0:36Speaker 1: us out to San Diego. Okay. Um, big topic out
- 0:43Speaker 1: there right now. Flock cameras.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Okay.
- 0:47Speaker 1: That's kind of big everywhere right now. It's a big debate.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Flock cameras everywhere. Well, uh, city council meeting had a
- 0:53Speaker 1: man dressed as Darth Vader attend the council meeting, uh,
- 0:57Speaker 1: defending the flock cameras as this is what the emperor needs. Um,
- 1:03Speaker 1: went on to say, you know, this is to help
- 1:05Speaker 1: us find the rebel scum, and they're hidden based on Hoth.
- 1:09Speaker 1: The Emperor is a fan of flock, and we must
- 1:11Speaker 1: continue utilizing flock technology so that we can follow and
- 1:15Speaker 1: surveil the rebel scum as they move from playground to playground,
- 1:18Speaker 1: from playground to pool, from pool to gymnasium, because we
- 1:21Speaker 1: all know that flock cameras are not only following the
- 1:24Speaker 1: license plate readers, they're following the children. He then went
- 1:29Speaker 1: on to say that I also need it for a
- 1:30Speaker 1: little bit of a personal reason, So that I can
- 1:32Speaker 1: continue to stalk my ex-girlfriend.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Oh, she's dead. So, spoiler alert.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Asked the council to practice using their Jedi mind trick
- 1:43Speaker 1: to convince the public of the importance of the cameras
- 1:46Speaker 1: and said that all money should be diverted to these
- 1:49Speaker 1: public services. We don't need parks. We don't need libraries.
- 1:53Speaker 1: We don't need daycare centers. We don't need homeless shelters.
- 1:56Speaker 1: All we need is money for the stormtroopers. We will
- 1:59Speaker 1: not succumb our forces to the rebel scum. No, this
- 2:02Speaker 1: council was elected to serve the police, not the public.
- 2:06Speaker 1: And if our stormtroopers don't receive all the funding that
- 2:08Speaker 1: they deserve, there will be hell to pay because the
- 2:11Speaker 1: emperor is not as forgiving as I am. So it's
- 2:17Speaker 1: what the empire needs.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Well, take a knee and pray to your lord and savior,
- 2:21Speaker 2: Darth Vader. I mean, because if not, he's going to
- 2:23Speaker 2: chop you up in pieces.
- 2:27Speaker 1: But yeah, no, it's what the empire needs to track
- 2:30Speaker 1: down that rebel scum. Uh, I know you're a big, uh,
- 2:34Speaker 1: believer in, uh, getting rid of the rebel scum.
- 2:38Speaker 2: So they're the worst, like just, I mean, God, well,
- 2:44Speaker 2: we got a chug going on over here. We got
- 2:48Speaker 2: a white chug or something going on over here. I
- 2:50Speaker 2: don't know who that is. That Jason Kelsey or something
- 2:54Speaker 2: like that. Uh, probably what a whip.
- 2:58Speaker 1: Anyway, it was Kirk cousins. I'd be in on that.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I'd be in on that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No. Um,
- 3:03Speaker 2: I mean, we had flock cameras over here on my
- 3:06Speaker 2: street until like it went up and then about a
- 3:09Speaker 2: week and a half later, they came down cause someone
- 3:11Speaker 2: just jumped up there and they just took it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: They just got, they fixed the glitch.
- 3:15Speaker 2: They just stole them.
- 3:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 2: I live in a nefarious neighborhood. I mean, very diversified.
- 3:23Speaker 2: That's a cultural, uh, you know, you know, we're very
- 3:26Speaker 2: diverse over here, which is fine.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Which is weird because you're nowhere near a body of
- 3:32Speaker 1: water to use that old, old wooden ship from the, uh, whatever.
- 3:37Speaker 2: They don't like recording devices, body cams or anything else
- 3:41Speaker 2: that records them. You know what I mean? It's like, well,
- 3:43Speaker 2: they just.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Want to, they just want to live their life.
- 3:47Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Me too.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Watched.
- 3:50Speaker 2: That's all.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Yeah. It doesn't, I don't know. I don't know how
- 3:56Speaker 2: I feel about that. I really don't care. No, that's
- 3:59Speaker 2: not Kelsey. I don't know who that is. Look up
- 4:02Speaker 2: at your TV. You watch them.
- 4:03Speaker 1: I don't have the game on.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Yeah. What do you got on like cartoons?
- 4:07Speaker 1: I don't have anything on. I'm locked in and focused
- 4:10Speaker 1: on the show.
- 4:12Speaker 2: You have to focus on the show in like four years.
- 4:15Speaker 2: That's a lie. Yeah, I know.
- 4:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 2: I'm here for the empire. You know what I mean? Right.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:22Speaker 2: Long live the empire.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I mean, it's not going so well for them right now, but.
- 4:29Speaker 2: That'd be fun. That'd be fun. Yeah, absolutely.
- 4:37Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:38Speaker 2: I don't know how I feel about those things. I
- 4:39Speaker 2: see them up there and they tell us about like, Oh,
- 4:41Speaker 2: this and that we're going to track these cars as
- 4:43Speaker 2: they go by and whatnot. I'm like, okay, cool. You know,
- 4:46Speaker 2: I mean, on my street one Thanksgiving, it was a
- 4:50Speaker 2: Thanksgiving night or Christmas Eve. Some little son of a
- 4:56Speaker 2: bitch junior, son of a bitch bastard came down my
- 4:58Speaker 2: street and knocked all the back windows out of all
- 5:00Speaker 2: our cars.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Oh, wow.
- 5:02Speaker 2: So I wasn't really excited about that because I spent
- 5:04Speaker 2: the night before at a casino. And I was like, oh,
- 5:08Speaker 2: there's someone that knocked on your window. Did they now?
- 5:11Speaker 2: And so now, obviously, we have cameras up and stuff
- 5:13Speaker 2: like that. So if you don't... My whole thing with
- 5:16Speaker 2: fly cameras is those cameras can be there, I guess,
- 5:20Speaker 2: but every other house.
- 5:23Speaker 2: On the block has cameras recording you anyway.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Right.
- 5:26Speaker 2: So what are you mad at? We had to put
- 5:30Speaker 2: those up. For obvious reasons. So now what are we
- 5:35Speaker 2: talking about?
- 5:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but I mean, like, let's just say, you know,
- 5:40Speaker 1: you're sitting there one night and you're just like, oh,
- 5:42Speaker 1: what's going on tonight? Internet dot com. And then you see, oh,
- 5:47Speaker 1: it's national. Leave some zucchini on your neighbor's front porch today.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Can't do that no more.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Not without getting caught.
- 5:55Speaker 2: He had a ring camera, too. I'm surprised he didn't
- 5:57Speaker 2: come over and ask me about it, because he's had
- 5:59Speaker 2: a ring camera this whole time. He didn't have one
- 6:03Speaker 2: that night? I'm pretty sure he did. I think he
- 6:06Speaker 2: had a... Well, you know what? Maybe it was during
- 6:08Speaker 2: the transition.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I had a Stormtrooper helmet on.
- 6:12Speaker 2: You can never figure out where I ran to. Well, yeah. No,
- 6:19Speaker 2: you're under surveillance all the time, whether it's ring cams or...
- 6:22Speaker 2: cameras around the house and stuff like that.
- 6:24Speaker 1: I just assume I'm always being watched.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Exactly. Well, I should act like my own house. Right.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Um, I don't, I'm not hiding anything. I'm not doing
- 6:34Speaker 1: anything wrong.
- 6:36Speaker 2: So, well, my mouth gets me in trouble. So I'd
- 6:39Speaker 2: rather not be recorded at any point in time.
- 6:42Speaker 1: Well, but you're always being recorded. Your phone's always listening.
- 6:45Speaker 2: I know. Always. It's kind of a rough, kind of
- 6:49Speaker 2: a rough couple, couple of nights here. Uh, I was like, oof.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I said, what now? They were like, oh, this. I go, yeah,
- 7:00Speaker 2: I stay about it. I stay about it.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Why does my phone keep showing me mental health doctors?
- 7:09Speaker 1: I don't understand what's going on right now.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Everybody rips those things down. Listen, I think it's an
- 7:17Speaker 2: infringement to your Fifth or Sixth Amendment. I can't remember
- 7:19Speaker 2: what it is to be surveilled. but also they put
- 7:24Speaker 2: them up in areas or they're everywhere. Actually, you know, whatever.
- 7:29Speaker 2: There's certain, I did see a section of New York
- 7:31Speaker 2: that was not, it was a whole section of New
- 7:34Speaker 2: York and Manhattan, Northern North, Northwest Manhattan. That was not
- 7:39Speaker 2: being surveilled at all. It's kind of weird. It's right.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Like a whole section, but yeah, I don't know around here.
- 7:48Speaker 2: I don't, I don't, I don't really care, you know,
- 7:51Speaker 2: Especially in the intersection I saw it at, it's an
- 7:54Speaker 2: intersection where a bunch of kids are walking to middle
- 7:56Speaker 2: school this way, high school this way, elementary school that way.
- 8:00Speaker 2: And you got people that run that stop sign at
- 8:03Speaker 2: that whole intersection. So I'm like, I don't care. Just
- 8:08Speaker 2: get people to act in line. I don't really know
- 8:10Speaker 2: how to get people to act in line anymore.
- 8:12Speaker 1: How do you feel about the red light camera that
- 8:14Speaker 1: will issue you a ticket?
- 8:16Speaker 2: Well, I got pop one time for that.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:18Speaker 2: And what did you do? I saw the video. It
- 8:22Speaker 2: was raining quite hard that morning. I was going to
- 8:24Speaker 2: target to go get my glasses from target. For some reason,
- 8:27Speaker 2: I got suckered into buying glasses from target and I
- 8:30Speaker 2: was like, I got to get these glasses, man. It's like,
- 8:32Speaker 2: you know, whatever. It's like Saturday morning, just torrential rain. And, uh, yeah,
- 8:39Speaker 2: I went back and watched the video and I didn't
- 8:41Speaker 2: doubt for a second when I got the ticket, I go,
- 8:43Speaker 2: Oh no, I totally did that. Right. And go back
- 8:46Speaker 2: and watch the video. And so I was, I'm approaching,
- 8:49Speaker 2: you can see the light turn green or turn red.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Five count i just i just went straight to it
- 8:58Speaker 3: i didn't give a shit i even told her they
- 9:00Speaker 3: go look how bad i ran this fucking red light
- 9:01Speaker 3: and but that's the whole you know for me though
- 9:06Speaker 3: they outlawed that they banned it you know it's unconstitutional
- 9:10Speaker 3: type thing and i'm fine with that.
- 9:12Speaker 1: But what did you do what did you pay said ticket.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Of course i always pay i There's some people that
- 9:18Speaker 2: are like, I'm going to fight it or I'm just
- 9:19Speaker 2: going to ignore it because they can't, I think, enforce it.
- 9:21Speaker 2: I think that was the whole thing, right? They can't
- 9:23Speaker 2: come after you. No, they can't.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:25Speaker 2: So I paid my $ 65 and I had a bunch
- 9:28Speaker 2: of chuckles and I saved the video and you know, whatever. Yeah.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I'm like, but I saw everything kind of coming around.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Cause I went into an intersection where it only can
- 9:36Speaker 2: come from this direction. Right. If you only come from
- 9:39Speaker 2: a North bound direction and I entered it through the, uh, uh,
- 9:43Speaker 2: the West. And so, uh, There's no one there. No
- 9:46Speaker 2: one's out. It's dead. It's crazy rain or whatever. Like,
- 9:50Speaker 2: I'm not stopping any more red lights. I'm not doing it.
- 9:53Speaker 2: So right under the tollway, took my left to laugh
- 9:57Speaker 2: my ass off all the way. And I went and
- 9:59Speaker 2: got my glasses.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I, I, I, I was issued a few
- 10:04Speaker 1: of those, um, never paid them. Cause I knew, you know, they,
- 10:11Speaker 1: they can't do anything cause they're, because there's not a
- 10:15Speaker 1: officer there issuing it. It's not actually like a traffic ticket.
- 10:19Speaker 2: They can't prove who's driving. That was the whole problem.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Well, I mean, well, they can. They can see you
- 10:24Speaker 1: in the.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Can't see me in the porn ring, though.
- 10:27Speaker 1: But, yeah, no, because I remember at work, the other
- 10:32Speaker 1: manager I work with, they're like, oh, yeah, I got
- 10:33Speaker 1: these tickets. I got to go pay these tickets. It's like,
- 10:36Speaker 1: what do you mean? You don't have to pay those.
- 10:38Speaker 1: They're like, yeah, no, you have to. You can't renew
- 10:40Speaker 1: your license. I go, yeah, you can. Yeah, you can. Well,
- 10:43Speaker 1: then you can't renew your vehicle registration.
- 10:45Speaker 2: You can. It's like running totals back in the day.
- 10:48Speaker 2: And like now, if you have a crazy NTTA bill,
- 10:52Speaker 2: it locks you out. Like you can't renew your whatever. So, yeah,
- 10:57Speaker 2: they probably.
- 10:57Speaker 1: But then that wasn't because I was like, she's like, no, no.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I was like, OK. And then like I came into
- 11:03Speaker 1: work the next day and I had, you know, my
- 11:05Speaker 1: stack that I go, I have these. I just renewed.
- 11:09Speaker 1: She said, well, I paid mine.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I was like, sucker. Oh, Pierce underwent ankle surgery and
- 11:15Speaker 2: back in March. He's on the pup. Oh my God.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Alec Pierce.
- 11:20Speaker 2: Yep. The only Pierce, you know, my goodness. So anyways, yeah, no, I, uh,
- 11:25Speaker 2: I paid my one. Cause I only did like, you know,
- 11:28Speaker 2: like the whole thing around here where I live is people.
- 11:31Speaker 2: There's this dude, this dork in our neighborhood that has
- 11:34Speaker 2: a dash cam. So all he does is post that
- 11:36Speaker 2: stuff in the next door app. And he's like, look
- 11:39Speaker 2: at these people running around lights. I'm like, it's me. Usually.
- 11:42Speaker 2: Like I haven't stopped at a red light. That's close.
- 11:48Speaker 2: And like seven years, because I don't want to, what's
- 11:50Speaker 2: the point? I'm not stopping. I'm not, well, I don't
- 11:54Speaker 2: run a broad one because I don't want to, I
- 11:56Speaker 2: don't want to T-bone somebody, but if it's like three seconds,
- 11:59Speaker 2: two seconds, I don't know. Sometimes I just don't care. Yeah.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Now there's, I've gotten pulled over. I want to say
- 12:06Speaker 1: like a year, a little bit over a year ago,
- 12:09Speaker 1: maybe two years ago, I got pulled over. And I
- 12:14Speaker 1: thought the light was yellow. Like I looked at it.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Cause I'll typically watch it. I guess I'm going under.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Like, okay, that was still yellow. And then I get
- 12:23Speaker 1: pulled over and he pulls me. He's like, you know
- 12:24Speaker 1: why I pulled you over? It's like, not a clue.
- 12:27Speaker 1: He's like, you ran that red light ago. I'm pretty
- 12:29Speaker 1: sure it was yellow when I went under it. And
- 12:31Speaker 1: he was like, well, let me.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Get your, I had my sunroof open. I was looking
- 12:36Speaker 2: right at it. I'm like this. And yeah, no, I
- 12:39Speaker 2: didn't run it. Okay.
- 12:40Speaker 1: If I ran it, you ran it, buddy. So, uh,
- 12:45Speaker 1: but yeah, he, so he took my, took my license,
- 12:47Speaker 1: went back, comes back. He's like, Oh, I'm just going
- 12:49Speaker 1: to give you a, we'll let you off with a
- 12:51Speaker 1: warning this time. And I'm like, you're letting me off
- 12:54Speaker 1: with a warning. Cause I didn't run the red light.
- 12:55Speaker 1: It was still yellow, but I didn't say that. I
- 12:58Speaker 1: just said, thank you very much, sir. I appreciate you
- 12:59Speaker 1: and have a nice day.
- 13:01Speaker 2: Yep. Yeah.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Letter nerd.
- 13:03Speaker 2: Got to go.
- 13:06Speaker 1: But yeah, now, uh, How many red light cameras did
- 13:09Speaker 1: you get? And red light tickets did you get from
- 13:12Speaker 1: the cameras? And did you pay them? Let us know. Cheers.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Mazel mazel.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Good things.
- 13:22Speaker 1: As always, I'm Alan.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Super BGD.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Talk to you guys later.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Deuces.
