- 1:42Speaker 1: robbed on YouTube and set help us to get to
- 1:46Speaker 1: four thousand.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Please thank you.
- 1:48Speaker 1: In advance, appreciate it. Okay, let's just dive right into
- 1:53Speaker 1: this Sister Wives. Okay, r V caravan Tanavu Illinois.
- 1:59Speaker 2: This shit.
- 2:01Speaker 1: They took a trip and you know, if it's a
- 2:02Speaker 1: brown trip, a brown.
- 2:05Speaker 2: Road trip, a horrible mess.
- 2:06Speaker 1: It's gonna be a catastrophe.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Every fucking time.
- 2:10Speaker 1: It's funny.
- 2:11Speaker 2: So it's Logan's birthday. They announced that they're going to
- 2:14Speaker 2: take a trip to Navu, Illinois, which is like the
- 2:17Speaker 2: Mormon Mecca or something. Okay, I guess that's where like
- 2:21Speaker 2: Mormonism started.
- 2:23Speaker 1: No, actually it was in Missouri, but they had to
- 2:25Speaker 1: flee Missouri, and they fled from Missouri to Illinois to
- 2:29Speaker 1: a town called Commerce, which then they renamed to now Vu.
- 2:33Speaker 1: And I'm wondering why, I'm wondering if is that a
- 2:35Speaker 1: Mormon word was like Joseph Smith given that name from
- 2:38Speaker 1: a white salamander talking in an angelic language. I want
- 2:41Speaker 1: to know more. It seems like a strange name.
- 2:44Speaker 2: It's kind of weird.
- 2:45Speaker 1: And once they got to now Vu, then Mormonism started
- 2:48Speaker 1: to take shape for real, I think.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Yeah. And I asked my former Mormon friend Ethel about this,
- 2:55Speaker 2: and she said Navu was like the last place where
- 2:58Speaker 2: Mormonism was like all one church, and then that's kind
- 3:01Speaker 2: of where it started to break off into the different
- 3:04Speaker 2: sects like LDS and the fundamentalists and all that stuff. Okay,
- 3:07Speaker 2: so that's why it's like super important. She also said
- 3:10Speaker 2: that apparently Mormons believe, I don't know if it's like
- 3:14Speaker 2: fundamentalists or LDS or both, they all believe that the
- 3:18Speaker 2: Garden of Eden was around Missouri, and.
- 3:23Speaker 1: So yeah, I think they also believe that Jesus visited
- 3:29Speaker 1: the Americas and like walked among dinosaurs and or pacoderms
- 3:35Speaker 1: and stuff.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Sorry, that's wrong, I guess that's wrong.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I'm very sorry, but I think they believe Jesus came
- 3:40Speaker 1: to a Marca. Yeah, and that's why we're a blessed country.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Yes, Jesus blessed us personally? Did he traveled to see
- 3:48Speaker 2: He walked on water all the way, all.
- 3:50Speaker 1: The way to Missouri. Honey came in through Florida, made
- 3:54Speaker 1: his way up to Missouri.
- 3:56Speaker 2: Yes, exactly. So anyway, they're planning a trip to Nabu, Illinois,
- 4:01Speaker 2: and Logan and Hunter are like, fuck that noise. No,
- 4:05Speaker 2: I'm staying home, which that's the smartest idea, totally, I
- 4:10Speaker 2: totally would have done that. Maddie is so jealous. Mattie's like,
- 4:12Speaker 2: I wish I could fucking stay.
- 4:14Speaker 1: Yes, Michelte, as she's being told that the family's taking
- 4:18Speaker 1: a road trip to Illinois, she makes a gesture and
- 4:23Speaker 1: she's like, get me out of here, get me out
- 4:25Speaker 1: of this family. I'm sick of this bullshit. And again,
- 4:28Speaker 1: it's so performative, like this entire season has been about
- 4:31Speaker 1: the cul de sac, Yeah, my sister wife's closet, which,
- 4:33Speaker 1: by the way, very interested in those two things.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Oh me too, but also.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Like putting polygamy on the main stage and talking about
- 4:40Speaker 1: their values with that, which I couldn't care less personally.
- 4:44Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, about their polygamy. I mean I'm interested
- 4:47Speaker 1: in religion, I'm interested to learn a little bit more,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and we do in this episode. But I'm like, stop
- 4:51Speaker 1: showcasing your bullshit fucking marriages that are gonna fail anyway.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Oh all a far And this.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Whole episode you can see it on Cody's face. He
- 5:01Speaker 2: fucking hates Christine.
- 5:03Speaker 1: I hate Christine.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Why is she always yelling at I don't know, but she's.
- 5:07Speaker 1: Always like seventeen to twenty five decibels higher than everybody else.
- 5:11Speaker 2: It's the aries.
- 5:12Speaker 1: God, I'm like, calm down, it's the aries. You don't
- 5:15Speaker 1: need to be so loud, Like we're right here on
- 5:16Speaker 1: the college with you now, we don't need to shout mickelti.
- 5:20Speaker 2: I'm mckelta hundred percent. That's where she gets it from.
- 5:23Speaker 2: But they embark on their pilgrimage Tanavu in two RV's
- 5:28Speaker 2: and a car, right or is it just two RVs.
- 5:30Speaker 1: It's two RV's and their plan is to make it
- 5:33Speaker 1: to Illinois in three days and so just quite a feat. Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Mary's been the one to organize the trip and like
- 5:40Speaker 1: where they're gonna be, and of course they don't make it. No,
- 5:45Speaker 1: they don't to any of the places on time.
- 5:47Speaker 2: No, on day one, it took them sixteen hours to
- 5:52Speaker 2: do an eight hour day.
- 5:53Speaker 1: Yeah, which I'm like, that is absolutely ridiculous.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Like that makes me so mad. I'm such a play
- 6:00Speaker 2: I'm like, we leave on schedule, we're gonna get there
- 6:04Speaker 2: by this time.
- 6:04Speaker 1: Are you a Virgo rising, Yes, that's why and Virgo
- 6:07Speaker 1: mercury okitch, So yeah, I'm like, I want some semblance
- 6:13Speaker 1: of structure.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I understand shit happens.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Well, there's like nine thousand children who are going to
- 6:18Speaker 1: have to go to the bathroom at various times. And
- 6:20Speaker 1: they do talk about it, like one bathroom stop at
- 6:24Speaker 1: some Rando gas station should be fifteen minutes for the
- 6:27Speaker 1: normal person, but it's one hour with the Browns. And
- 6:30Speaker 1: so imagine having to stop ten times because you got
- 6:33Speaker 1: little Fanna, you got little Gabe, you got Maddie, somebody's
- 6:38Speaker 1: on their period, somebody's got a poob. I mean, it's
- 6:40Speaker 1: happening all the time.
- 6:42Speaker 2: But so that makes your trip eight hours longer. Like
- 6:45Speaker 2: I failed to see how.
- 6:46Speaker 1: It makes it that we apparently.
- 6:48Speaker 2: I feel like they drive slow. I feel like they
- 6:50Speaker 2: wake up super late and then they try to get
- 6:52Speaker 2: there by a certain time and they end up getting
- 6:54Speaker 2: there late at night. I don't know it all. It
- 6:56Speaker 2: pissed me off.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Okay, well you're just gonna have a salpe and in
- 6:59Speaker 1: bottle on our road trip all your kids and us too.
- 7:02Speaker 2: Well, you got r v's. You can pee in the rv.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Ew but how do you empty that?
- 7:07Speaker 2: It goes into a tank. That's the point of an RVY.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Can you smell it? I don't want to do that.
- 7:12Speaker 2: It goes into a tank and then you can empty
- 7:14Speaker 2: it when you're at a stop or whatever.
- 7:16Speaker 1: God you know you do that. No, I would never
- 7:20Speaker 1: do that.
- 7:20Speaker 2: But I mean, that's the point of the r v's
- 7:22Speaker 2: unless they didn't have bathrooms.
- 7:24Speaker 1: But then I'm like, whatever, Well, I think they just
- 7:25Speaker 1: wanted to lounge and lay down and sleep in the
- 7:28Speaker 1: r v I they maybe they had a bathroom, but
- 7:31Speaker 1: I don't know. All I do know is that two
- 7:34Speaker 1: of the wives didn't want to sleep in the r v's,
- 7:36Speaker 1: and two of the wives had to sleep in the
- 7:38Speaker 1: r v's, And so of course Robin of course got
- 7:41Speaker 1: to go and sleep at the hotel because she used
- 7:43Speaker 1: the Solomon needs his own room. And then Christine, who's
- 7:50Speaker 1: self id's as a princess, and she's like, absolutely, I
- 7:53Speaker 1: want to the hotel. I want to wash my butt.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I want to get in a nice bed. I don't
- 7:56Speaker 1: want to hear all this racket. And then Mary's like, whatever,
- 8:00Speaker 1: a sleep in their vie. I'm fine to sleep in
- 8:02Speaker 1: the RVY. And then Janelle wants to sleep in the
- 8:04Speaker 1: arvy because she likes to camp.
- 8:06Speaker 2: She does like that, which I thought was cute because
- 8:08Speaker 2: we see that even in season eighteen. She's like, I
- 8:10Speaker 2: like to be in the RV. That's great.
- 8:12Speaker 1: But where's Cody sleeping with Robin? Because on one of
- 8:17Speaker 1: the nights he's like, I didn't know our hotel was
- 8:20Speaker 1: twelve miles away. In like our hotel because you were
- 8:23Speaker 1: just talking about how you had to rotate your wives
- 8:26Speaker 1: when you travel so that you can make sure that
- 8:28Speaker 1: you're with each one equally, But no, you're with Robin totally.
- 8:33Speaker 2: Well because he has to be because of.
- 8:35Speaker 1: The baby, but truly she's also a baby.
- 8:38Speaker 2: Well, Christy can handle it, Okay, that's probably Cody's logic,
- 8:41Speaker 2: like you've had six kids, you can deal with it. Well.
- 8:43Speaker 1: When they're talking about this, he looks at Mary directly
- 8:46Speaker 1: and he's like, why don't you have a baby and
- 8:48Speaker 1: then you can stay at the hotel.
- 8:51Speaker 2: I was like, wow, that is ridiculous.
- 8:56Speaker 1: You set the choir part out loud.
- 8:59Speaker 2: Oh there's a lot of he does quiet parts in
- 9:01Speaker 2: this episode, that's for sure. But anyway, so day one
- 9:05Speaker 2: takes sixteen hours. They stop in Grand Junction. Oh, they
- 9:09Speaker 2: stopped at family Pond on the way there, and you too.
- 9:11Speaker 2: I forgot about that.
- 9:12Speaker 1: That's interesting to me though, because isn't that where Mackelti
- 9:16Speaker 1: goes when she graduates and shews it a pawn shop
- 9:19Speaker 1: in Saint George. It must be this place maybe, And
- 9:22Speaker 1: the guy who owns the pawn shop also owns the
- 9:25Speaker 1: high Ram smith House in navou.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:29Speaker 1: And so while they're at the pawn shop, they're talking
- 9:32Speaker 1: about Mormonism again, and we got a portrait of Brigham Young,
- 9:36Speaker 1: and yes, we get to hear about how Cody looks
- 9:40Speaker 1: like Brigham Young.
- 9:41Speaker 2: And but Christine thinks Brigham Young's ugly af.
- 9:44Speaker 1: And Robin thinks Brigham Young's have some Of course, it
- 9:48Speaker 1: was cringe.
- 9:49Speaker 2: And Robin only said that on purpose because Cody was
- 9:53Speaker 2: offended that Christine thinks Brigham Young is ugly, but that
- 9:58Speaker 2: he also looks like Brigham Young.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Very bizarre.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Yes, I didn't see the resemblance at all.
- 10:02Speaker 1: No, I mean no, I.
- 10:04Speaker 2: Mean they're both ugly. Yeah, yes, they're both ugly. And
- 10:08Speaker 2: so then after the pawnshop, then they arrive at their
- 10:12Speaker 2: hotels or whatever, and they have a family meeting, and
- 10:15Speaker 2: Cody's like, we have to leave earlier in the day.
- 10:18Speaker 2: I can't fucking do this. This is late at night.
- 10:20Speaker 2: What are we doing. Christine didn't even want to do
- 10:22Speaker 2: the meeting anyway.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Well, yeah, I mean it's eleven pm. Yeah, she wants
- 10:25Speaker 1: to go to her hotel. She wants to clean her butt, yeah,
- 10:28Speaker 1: and she wants to lay in bed and watch TV
- 10:30Speaker 1: and have a cocktail, I would assume. And he just
- 10:32Speaker 1: wants to yell at everybody because they're ten hours late
- 10:35Speaker 1: to their destination.
- 10:37Speaker 2: I'm like, it's partly your fault too.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Dude, of course it's partly his fault. And Mary's like, well,
- 10:41Speaker 1: I think we need to leave a little earlier tomorrow,
- 10:43Speaker 1: since obviously it's taking us so long. And Christine's like
- 10:47Speaker 1: all I'm hearing is wan wamp wamps schedual schedule, schedule.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I want to go to bed.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Say, like, shut the fuck up.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Mary's trying though, to get everybody there in a timely manner,
- 10:58Speaker 1: but nobody gives a shit.
- 10:59Speaker 2: Nobody cares at all because they have all these fucking kids.
- 11:03Speaker 2: How are you gonna get them all together? When the
- 11:04Speaker 2: adults can't even get themselves.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And then imagine how the Rvy smells with all those kids.
- 11:08Speaker 1: But it's just you know, farting doing all those kid.
- 11:12Speaker 2: Things with the stale socks and stuff.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Driving for four days, eighteen hour days in an Rvy.
- 11:18Speaker 1: That sounds like hell to me.
- 11:19Speaker 2: It sounds horrible.
- 11:21Speaker 1: My husband wants to buy an Rvy. He thinks that
- 11:23Speaker 1: sounds so fantastic to just travel the country in an Arvy. No,
- 11:27Speaker 1: thank you.
- 11:28Speaker 2: Some ARV's are tricked out.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Man, I don't. That's great and all, but I have
- 11:32Speaker 1: absolutely no desire to do anything.
- 11:34Speaker 2: Full size showers, full sized toilets.
- 11:37Speaker 1: I mean, where's the water coming from?
- 11:38Speaker 2: Well yeah no, but if you plug it into an
- 11:41Speaker 2: Arvy park, you plug it into the water.
- 11:43Speaker 1: I don't want it. I'm never gonna do it. I
- 11:46Speaker 1: will say their first class bitch, yeah, and I will
- 11:49Speaker 1: meet you at our justin.
- 11:51Speaker 2: You're the real princess, Yes i am.
- 11:53Speaker 1: I'm no part of an Arvy.
- 11:54Speaker 2: No, no, you don't even want a camp. No, no,
- 11:58Speaker 2: absolutely not. In day two, they leave late, shocker, and
- 12:04Speaker 2: the old kids are tired. They're fucking over it, as
- 12:07Speaker 2: am I. They arrive late into Kansas, and then Cody's
- 12:12Speaker 2: talking about how it's difficult traveling with this big ass family.
- 12:16Speaker 1: He only had four hours of sleep tonight before, He's
- 12:19Speaker 1: probably only have four hours of sleep tonight. And poor Cody,
- 12:22Speaker 1: he needs.
- 12:23Speaker 2: His beauty sleep he does.
- 12:24Speaker 1: He's gotta put up his gonna roll up his hair,
- 12:26Speaker 1: he's gotta put on his bonnet. He's gotta get sleep,
- 12:30Speaker 1: and he's got to get a full eight hours. I
- 12:31Speaker 1: don't know about be getting pegged now. He needs a
- 12:34Speaker 1: full eight hours of sleep, and so he's bugging.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh he's grumpy. He is so grumpy. He talks
- 12:42Speaker 2: about how it's hard to have to rotate between all
- 12:44Speaker 2: the wives, and then Robin's like, if I hate that
- 12:46Speaker 2: word rotate.
- 12:48Speaker 1: I hate that because I want you all the time
- 12:50Speaker 1: and I never want you to have to rotate these tires. Like,
- 12:53Speaker 1: is there no prognosticator in this family? Is there nobody
- 12:56Speaker 1: that could just like put their finger to the wind
- 12:59Speaker 1: and see that it's going to be a hellish trip
- 13:02Speaker 1: across the country to Illinois of all places during the summer.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Can't you figure this out? This is gonna be terrible.
- 13:09Speaker 1: But you're gonna haul all your kids across this country
- 13:12Speaker 1: and you're gonna have a stink attitude. I mean, Cody,
- 13:14Speaker 1: the least you could do, since you're the one who
- 13:16Speaker 1: wanted all of these kids to do this, is be
- 13:18Speaker 1: in a good mood. I mean, trying to have like
- 13:21Speaker 1: good vibes. But you can't do that.
- 13:24Speaker 2: You can't because he's tired, asshole, Okay, I know. Like,
- 13:28Speaker 2: so you're the only one that's allowed to have an attitude,
- 13:30Speaker 2: but then you get annoyed with Christine being a princess
- 13:33Speaker 2: or being upset that you're holding a family meeting at
- 13:36Speaker 2: eleven pm at night.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Just get realistic, be like, Okay, it's gonna take us
- 13:39Speaker 1: five days. We're gonna drive no matter what. We're gonna
- 13:41Speaker 1: drive seven hours, eight hours, and we're stopping and then
- 13:43Speaker 1: we're gonna have a full night sleep. We're having a
- 13:45Speaker 1: nice dinner, and like, just make it easy, right, Like
- 13:48Speaker 1: when my husband and I go from North Texas up
- 13:52Speaker 1: to Des Moines, Iowa to visit my brother, which we
- 13:55Speaker 1: do every single year. What is that a ten hour
- 13:58Speaker 1: drive where we stop. Oh yeah, we stop and just
- 14:02Speaker 1: outside of Topeka or somewhere, I don't know. We were
- 14:04Speaker 1: in the middle of nowhere, somewhere in Kansas. We get
- 14:08Speaker 1: a nice hotel. Yeah, we go out for a nice dinner,
- 14:11Speaker 1: we sleep in, and then we make our way another
- 14:13Speaker 1: four or five six hours.
- 14:14Speaker 2: It's much more enjoyable, no stress. Yeah, Like when my
- 14:18Speaker 2: family moved us down from Washington state, go all the
- 14:22Speaker 2: way to Texas.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Like those people from my six hundred pound life made
- 14:27Speaker 1: that lazy Buckingham from Washington, she got, i know, kicked
- 14:32Speaker 1: out of her vehicle.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Buy our sister in law o the side of the
- 14:35Speaker 2: road in Texas. We took like a whole week to
- 14:39Speaker 2: drive down and we made stops, like we went and
- 14:42Speaker 2: saw our family in Oregon, We saw my uncle in Sacramento.
- 14:45Speaker 2: We went to Sedona, and then we drove right through
- 14:48Speaker 2: New Mexico because it's ugly as ship, stopped in West
- 14:52Speaker 2: Texas and then you know, came in. It was fine.
- 14:55Speaker 2: It sucked driving that long. It's a long fucking drive,
- 14:58Speaker 2: but like take the time to that.
- 15:00Speaker 1: You're not like go go go, go go for real,
- 15:02Speaker 1: and then pissed off because you don't make it on time.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I mean, the Browns should know better as a family.
- 15:07Speaker 2: I know, because by day three they're a day behind.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Cody's so bent out of Shay buddy.
- 15:12Speaker 2: He is, and I think Robin is too. I think
- 15:15Speaker 2: Robin's probably in his ear like this is bullshit. Why
- 15:18Speaker 2: are we taking this long to drive to Illinois? Like
- 15:21Speaker 2: it shouldn't be this bad, and so now it's making
- 15:24Speaker 2: him even more angry. Their day behind, there's like a
- 15:27Speaker 2: windstorm which looked horrible, like it's like blowing the awnings
- 15:31Speaker 2: up on their RVs and they're like swerving in the roads.
- 15:36Speaker 2: Looked terrible.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Yeah, but Mary's base. She's like, I can drive. Yeah,
- 15:40Speaker 1: I got no problem driving and I'm not tired. I
- 15:42Speaker 1: can drive us all the way there all the way back.
- 15:44Speaker 1: But somehow this isn't enough for Cody, because Cody doesn't
- 15:49Speaker 1: want her to drive, like he wants to put another
- 15:51Speaker 1: wife in there. He wants different wives to drive, and
- 15:54Speaker 1: he wants to spend time with different wives. I'm like,
- 15:56Speaker 1: what's your problem? I don't know, why are you yelling
- 15:59Speaker 1: at Mary? He storms out of the RV and slams
- 16:02Speaker 1: the door, and she's like, I said I could drive,
- 16:04Speaker 1: what's the big problem?
- 16:06Speaker 2: Like, seriously, he's obviously tired. She's like saying, on the couch, dude,
- 16:10Speaker 2: just go take a fucking nap. It's fine, Like I'm good.
- 16:14Speaker 2: But he's like not seeing it in this moment because
- 16:17Speaker 2: he's tired and grumpy.
- 16:18Speaker 1: And he's a mad baby. Yeah he's a paper boy.
- 16:20Speaker 2: But on the on the.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Get your googu and shut the fuck up, no, for real.
- 16:28Speaker 2: But on the couch he's talking about how he's frustrated
- 16:31Speaker 2: because he just wants his wives to obey him, like
- 16:34Speaker 2: that's the root of it. And then Christine shouts and says,
- 16:38Speaker 2: obeying is just a four little word and that's offensive.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Yeah, and I mean it's never been that. You've been
- 16:46Speaker 1: with some of these women for twenty years. It's not
- 16:49Speaker 1: going to ever be that. No, So why are we
- 16:52Speaker 1: expecting your wives to fall into line and obey you.
- 16:55Speaker 1: They're just not going to.
- 16:56Speaker 2: No, they're independent, wemy. But okay, he wants to be
- 17:00Speaker 2: the patriarch. He wants to be the leader.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Now this really is I think the origin story of
- 17:06Speaker 1: his patriarchal arc. Like this is where it's starting to happen, like,
- 17:09Speaker 1: why won't these bitches treat me like Joe Darker's wives
- 17:13Speaker 1: treat me, Like why don't they respect me the same way?
- 17:17Speaker 1: And so I think now is the time he's starting
- 17:19Speaker 1: to change a little bit more and get resentful of
- 17:22Speaker 1: wives like Christine who are like absolutely not.
- 17:25Speaker 2: Well, I'm sorry, but why don't you be a husband
- 17:27Speaker 2: that is worth respecting?
- 17:29Speaker 1: I mean period, really period.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Like if you're a respectable, respectable man, then the women
- 17:36Speaker 2: are going to be fun and all over you. Huh,
- 17:38Speaker 2: do whatever you want.
- 17:40Speaker 1: Right, but you suck well. And Christine even said as
- 17:43Speaker 1: much in the Joe Darker episode when she's like, it's
- 17:46Speaker 1: clear that his family and his kids respect him, meaning, Cody,
- 17:51Speaker 1: your family doesn't know. It's because you act like a
- 17:54Speaker 1: bitch made baby boy. Yep, Sorry, is that rude? I apologize.
- 17:58Speaker 1: It's the te I do not prefer him.
- 17:59Speaker 2: It's just the truth. And so then on the way
- 18:03Speaker 2: to Illinois on this third day they're late, Mary has
- 18:07Speaker 2: some stupid excursion for the family where they stop and
- 18:10Speaker 2: I don't know, Topeka or something, and they go and
- 18:13Speaker 2: visit truck Hinge, which is run by a guy who
- 18:17Speaker 2: hates the government, right he's probably doing meth.
- 18:22Speaker 1: Probably doing meth.
- 18:24Speaker 2: I mean, that's great. I laughed so hard at this
- 18:29Speaker 2: because it was so dumb.
- 18:30Speaker 1: It was dumb. And did his shirt read you say
- 18:33Speaker 1: psychotic like it's a bad thing. Yes, I'm like, what
- 18:36Speaker 1: were you guys expecting to like encounter here. But he
- 18:40Speaker 1: just talks about how the government didn't like all of
- 18:43Speaker 1: the trucks that he had on his property. Would totally
- 18:46Speaker 1: be my husband. It would totally if he didn't have
- 18:49Speaker 1: a woman. This is exactly what my husband would do.
- 18:53Speaker 1: And so as a big f you to the government,
- 18:55Speaker 1: he puts his trucks vertical and cements them into the
- 18:59Speaker 1: ground and he makes truck henge.
- 19:00Speaker 2: I mean, that's based.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Totally what my husband would do. Yeah, And he just
- 19:05Speaker 1: talks about giving the middle finger to the government. With
- 19:08Speaker 1: all these kids around, he's flipping off the camera and
- 19:11Speaker 1: then he's got the brown kids flipping off the camera,
- 19:13Speaker 1: and I'm like.
- 19:14Speaker 2: This is great, It's actually really great.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Christine hated it.
- 19:17Speaker 2: She hated him.
- 19:18Speaker 1: She hated yep.
- 19:19Speaker 2: She's like, why are we seeing this man who hates
- 19:22Speaker 2: the government. I mean, he's just terrible. And this guy
- 19:25Speaker 2: with his no teeth, he's like, I can't imagine having
- 19:28Speaker 2: more than one wife with his crazy, scraggly beard. I
- 19:32Speaker 2: loved it, but it was also just like dumb, Like Mary,
- 19:34Speaker 2: what were you exp.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Why are we stopping at truck Hench? But like Mary's
- 19:38Speaker 1: just trying to plan out like a road trip that
- 19:41Speaker 1: would be fun for the kids.
- 19:43Speaker 2: And I mean, what is there in Topeka, Kansas.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I don't know, not much, honey.
- 19:48Speaker 2: That's probably the only thing she found online when she
- 19:51Speaker 2: was googling, so whatever. Then they leave, they arrive late,
- 19:55Speaker 2: they're still twelve miles away from the hotel that they
- 19:58Speaker 2: were gonna stay at, and co flipping out.
- 20:01Speaker 1: Man, Yeah, he had no idea that the hotel would
- 20:03Speaker 1: be so far away, and he's gonna have to drive
- 20:05Speaker 1: there because of course he's staying at the hotel with Robin.
- 20:08Speaker 1: Of course, of course, but he's like, I'm not gonna
- 20:10Speaker 1: be able to go to sleep tonight until one or two.
- 20:13Speaker 1: He opens the RV door where Mary is sitting. He's like,
- 20:15Speaker 1: by the way, we're not leaving until later tomorrow morning
- 20:18Speaker 1: because I got to get some sleep. And Mary's like,
- 20:20Speaker 1: I don't know why you're sniping at me, like chill
- 20:22Speaker 1: out and he's like, fine, I'm just telling everybody. So
- 20:25Speaker 1: he's just a grump. He's hard to be around. He's
- 20:28Speaker 1: making this road trip suck suck so hard.
- 20:32Speaker 2: And you know what, I actually have a little uncensored form.
- 20:35Speaker 1: Okay, all right, So now we're back from our uncensored
- 20:40Speaker 1: and by the way, if you want to hear our
- 20:42Speaker 1: uncensored conversation, all you have to do is go to
- 20:45Speaker 1: Patreon because that's where all of these uncensored bits are.
- 20:49Speaker 1: So back to the Browns. We start day four. We
- 20:54Speaker 1: are on our way to navoo Y finally, and it's
- 20:57Speaker 1: like there's a river, there's a body of water. I mean,
- 21:00Speaker 1: Illinois is just flat as fuck, honey. I lived there
- 21:02Speaker 1: for fifteen years. It's not the most beautiful, horrible or
- 21:06Speaker 1: beauteous state in the Union or whatever. They're rounding no offense.
- 21:10Speaker 1: So they're rounding this bend. There's some water over here,
- 21:14Speaker 1: and then oh, the Mormon Temple of navoo I know.
- 21:19Speaker 1: And they're like, oh my god, it's like coming home.
- 21:21Speaker 2: It's amazing.
- 21:22Speaker 1: I felt it in my got in my heart when
- 21:25Speaker 1: I saw that temple in the middle of a cornfield.
- 21:27Speaker 2: And they arrive at him him Smith Smith, who's the
- 21:34Speaker 2: brother of Joseph Smith, aka the Mormon Prophet, and they're
- 21:38Speaker 2: at his house and Christine's like, oh my god, I'm
- 21:40Speaker 2: so excited that we're staying in his house. Feels so
- 21:45Speaker 2: amazing that my kids are playing the same backyard that
- 21:48Speaker 2: Hi Ram's kids played it. Oh my god, I love it. Yeah.
- 21:52Speaker 1: I mean sure, I can imagine if there's a historical
- 21:56Speaker 1: figure that I venerate and slash worship his teachings or whatever,
- 22:01Speaker 1: like being in the same place. I mean, I'm sure
- 22:04Speaker 1: that's charged with a lot of Mormon energy or whatever.
- 22:07Speaker 1: So she's into it. All the kids are running around
- 22:10Speaker 1: and they are so excited to be a Navoo.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I'm just happy.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Could never be me, honey, I could never be. No, never, No,
- 22:17Speaker 1: I'll be in Chicago at the Four Seasons with the
- 22:19Speaker 1: Gospel Ball's and talking to people at the bar, eating
- 22:22Speaker 1: some sushi or right, come and get me on the
- 22:24Speaker 1: way back. Actually, I'll fly because I ain't getting an RV.
- 22:28Speaker 2: I can't just imagine how terrible the drive was on
- 22:31Speaker 2: the way back. It probably took them five days at least.
- 22:34Speaker 1: You're excited to get there on the front end, but
- 22:37Speaker 1: on the back end it's just like Jesus, get me
- 22:38Speaker 1: away from I'm gonna kill them all. I'm going to
- 22:41Speaker 1: mass murder all of these people my fault, and I'll
- 22:44Speaker 1: get off.
- 22:44Speaker 2: Yep, yep exactly. And then they take a tour of
- 22:49Speaker 2: Navo with a very lovely tour guide Joseph Johnston, who
- 22:54Speaker 2: looks like Jesus. He does look like Jesus.
- 22:56Speaker 1: And he's walking up to the Browns and his hair
- 22:59Speaker 1: is just gloss and chestnut brown. And Christine's like, oh,
- 23:03Speaker 1: he looks like Jesus. And everyone's like, oh my god,
- 23:07Speaker 1: he's got nicer hair than you. Cody.
- 23:10Speaker 2: Actually, Christine's the one that says that, oh yeah, and
- 23:12Speaker 2: that does not make Cody feel good.
- 23:15Speaker 1: And Cody says something like, well, at least he has
- 23:17Speaker 1: hair on his forehead, referring to his own balding, which
- 23:21Speaker 1: I guess he's acknowledging.
- 23:22Speaker 2: At least he's a little self aware of that. Yes,
- 23:24Speaker 2: that's pretty great. But then they take them I think
- 23:27Speaker 2: the tour guide takes them to a parking lot. They
- 23:32Speaker 2: a weird parking lot where they're talking about polygamy.
- 23:35Speaker 1: There's a field across from a parking lot. I mean,
- 23:39Speaker 1: just any old field in Illinois is what that looks like.
- 23:42Speaker 1: And Joseph says something like right there in that field
- 23:46Speaker 1: is where Hiram Smith confronted Brigham Young and asked him
- 23:49Speaker 1: what's going on, Brigham, because I can tell there's things
- 23:53Speaker 1: going on I don't know about. And this is the
- 23:55Speaker 1: moment Brigham Young reveals to Hiram Young that Joseph's been
- 24:00Speaker 1: this whole time and he's got a bunch of wives
- 24:03Speaker 1: and they're practicing polygamy because Joseph got a testimony from the.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Spirit uh huh.
- 24:08Speaker 1: And so this is the first that Hiram heard of it.
- 24:11Speaker 1: And apparently Hiram and Joseph used to argue about this
- 24:14Speaker 1: because Hiram was against it. Yeah, but Joseph wanted all
- 24:18Speaker 1: these women for himself, of course.
- 24:20Speaker 2: And then they talk about how many wives Joseph Smith
- 24:24Speaker 2: actually had, and like, normally this tour guide apparently doesn't
- 24:27Speaker 2: go into like too much of polygamies, people ask about
- 24:30Speaker 2: it and stuff, but because he's actually tour with polygamists,
- 24:34Speaker 2: he gives him the full spiel and he says that
- 24:36Speaker 2: Joseph Smith actually had thirty three yep, thirty three.
- 24:40Speaker 1: Wives, which was a surprise to Cody Brown, who thought
- 24:42Speaker 1: that it was seventeen yep. And then Joseph reveals that
- 24:47Speaker 1: twelve of those thirty three wives were actually married to
- 24:51Speaker 1: other men. Yes, so it sounds like some more in
- 24:53Speaker 1: Jeff's bullshit where he just comes into men's houses with
- 24:56Speaker 1: their wives and says that wive's mind now, yes, you
- 24:59Speaker 1: belong to me.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 25:01Speaker 1: And Robin seems to have a big problem with this.
- 25:03Speaker 1: She's like, wait, wait, wait, you're saying that these women
- 25:07Speaker 1: were with other men, and Joseph's like, they were married
- 25:10Speaker 1: to those men in the fullest extent of that term,
- 25:13Speaker 1: like they were looking, oh yeah, the husbands, and they
- 25:16Speaker 1: were also belonging to Joseph Smith. And so Robin has
- 25:20Speaker 1: some cognitive dissonance because wait a minute, that would make
- 25:23Speaker 1: them brother husbands.
- 25:24Speaker 2: Yes, because Mary asks if they were still like foreigner
- 25:29Speaker 2: Caton with their original husbands, and Joseph Smith and the
- 25:32Speaker 2: tour guy says yes. And I was asking Ethel about this,
- 25:35Speaker 2: and Cody kind of talks about it. There's like a
- 25:37Speaker 2: historical debate of like what actually was happening was Joseph
- 25:41Speaker 2: Smith's otherwives. Ethel told me that a lot of like
- 25:45Speaker 2: the mainstream narrative is that Joseph Smith thought that these
- 25:50Speaker 2: twelve women's husbands were not holy enough, and so he
- 25:55Speaker 2: wanted to save them because he's such a good guy.
- 25:57Speaker 2: He wanted to save them from hell, but Mormons don't
- 26:01Speaker 2: really believe in hell. He wanted to save them and
- 26:02Speaker 2: bless them, so that's why he took them from their husband,
- 26:06Speaker 2: stole them, and married them.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Doesn't that sound like the girl who was on the
- 26:11Speaker 1: Polygamist Rescue episode if you back, like her father just
- 26:15Speaker 1: disappeared one night because he told his family he was
- 26:19Speaker 1: a bad man. Yeah, and his whole family now had
- 26:22Speaker 1: to belong to Warren Jeff's. Then Warren Jeffs got caught
- 26:25Speaker 1: up in all that criminality and so then they had
- 26:28Speaker 1: to go with some other men. So it sounds a
- 26:29Speaker 1: little bit like he was also told that he was
- 26:32Speaker 1: not holy enough.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Yeah, similar story there. Yeah, but I guess the historians
- 26:37Speaker 2: kind of debate, like what actually.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Happened, well, yeah, because they probably want to cover that up. Yeah,
- 26:41Speaker 1: and I think there's the conversation from Cody about well,
- 26:45Speaker 1: you know, maybe he just blessed them. They blessed these
- 26:48Speaker 1: twelve women and sealed them in their faith and then
- 26:53Speaker 1: Janelle says something that's pretty base. She's like, well, it's
- 26:55Speaker 1: just Joseph Smith. He's not God. He's just a guy.
- 26:58Speaker 2: You know.
- 26:59Speaker 1: It's not going to change my faith, which was interesting
- 27:01Speaker 1: to me because I know they call him a prophet yep,
- 27:04Speaker 1: but I didn't know whether he was some sort of
- 27:06Speaker 1: a deity to them, some sort of a small g God.
- 27:11Speaker 2: No, I guess I was asking Ethel about this. So
- 27:13Speaker 2: in like LDS faith, there's like multiple prophets, so there
- 27:17Speaker 2: always has to be a living prophet, okay, So like
- 27:20Speaker 2: Joseph Smith was that one that he died, and then
- 27:22Speaker 2: it was Brigham Young and then he died, and then
- 27:24Speaker 2: so on and so on. So she said that right now,
- 27:27Speaker 2: in the LDS faith, there's a prophet I forget his name,
- 27:29Speaker 2: I can't remember, there's one that's currently alive. But then
- 27:32Speaker 2: there's gonna be a next one because the Buddha I
- 27:35Speaker 2: don't know, okay, all right, yeah, like they're like men
- 27:38Speaker 2: that are like ordained because they have special powers or
- 27:42Speaker 2: something I don't know, something like they speak to the divine. Sure, yeah,
- 27:46Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, a whole fucking thing, right to
- 27:49Speaker 2: fuck shit? Right, But yeah, so there always has to
- 27:51Speaker 2: be a living prophet. So there's multiple profits. Okay, I
- 27:53Speaker 2: learned that today. But Joseph Smith was the first one.
- 27:56Speaker 2: Yeah right, okay, allegedly, I don't know.
- 28:00Speaker 1: I think so.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Yeah. And so then after the Mormon parking lot polygamist talk,
- 28:07Speaker 2: then they go and visit Carthage.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Well before that, they go to the place of the
- 28:13Speaker 1: Navu expository. Was it called the expository, It was the paper.
- 28:17Speaker 1: It was the scene of the unrest, the initial unrest
- 28:21Speaker 1: that ultimately god Joseph Smith charged and apparently the newspaper
- 28:26Speaker 1: in Navu posted or made an article wrote an article
- 28:31Speaker 1: about how Joseph Smith was a polygamist but also a polytheis,
- 28:34Speaker 1: So it wasn't just polygamy. It was also the fact
- 28:36Speaker 1: that Joseph Smith preached that men could become gods, which
- 28:42Speaker 1: was very radical, especially in Christendom, and also was teaching
- 28:48Speaker 1: that you could baptize the dead into the faith. So
- 28:52Speaker 1: even if you died, you never were a Mormon, you
- 28:54Speaker 1: died a Christian, you died an atheist. These Mormon people
- 28:57Speaker 1: could come in and they could baptize you into Mormonism
- 28:59Speaker 1: and now you got you oh blat.
- 29:01Speaker 2: It yep, that's still a thing.
- 29:02Speaker 1: By the way, it is still a thing. And so
- 29:04Speaker 1: that all began in Nauvoo. And I think this newspaper
- 29:08Speaker 1: printed an article about that, and so Joseph Smith, the
- 29:12Speaker 1: city council and all of these polygamoust people got pissed
- 29:15Speaker 1: off because they wrote that article, and they destroyed the newspaper.
- 29:19Speaker 2: Yeah, they burned it down.
- 29:20Speaker 1: They burned it down. Mary's ancestor was standing across the
- 29:24Speaker 1: road watching it burned down. I'm like, why do we
- 29:26Speaker 1: need to say that. Why is that important? I don't know.
- 29:28Speaker 2: I mean, that's like not a good thing to be
- 29:30Speaker 2: proud of, Like your ancestors just sitting there watching it,
- 29:33Speaker 2: not doing anything.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Not doing anything. Kay. And so then Joseph Smith is
- 29:37Speaker 1: charged for what happened to the newspaper and also causing
- 29:42Speaker 1: this unrest. That's when he goes to Carthage. She appears
- 29:46Speaker 1: in court, he posts his bail on the way out.
- 29:50Speaker 1: The state approaches and charges him with treason.
- 29:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and then imprisons him.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Imprisons him in the in the jail in Carthage, him
- 29:59Speaker 1: and Hiram.
- 30:00Speaker 2: Yes, and then Robin's ancestor, John Solomon Fulmer. So this
- 30:06Speaker 2: is what King Solomon is named after Baby King's alms.
- 30:09Speaker 1: We learned something today.
- 30:11Speaker 2: So he's a lawyer and he is trying to help
- 30:15Speaker 2: get Joseph and Hiram I think out of jail. And
- 30:18Speaker 2: then there's a mob, like an angry mom of Mormons
- 30:22Speaker 2: who bust into the jail. They kill Hiram, and then Joseph.
- 30:28Speaker 1: Looks like Joseph's trying to get out of a window,
- 30:30Speaker 1: although the way Mormon will tell you is he opens
- 30:32Speaker 1: the window and declares his love for God, and then
- 30:35Speaker 1: he's immediately shot, falls from the window. The crowd drags
- 30:38Speaker 1: him by his scout honey, drags him by his hair
- 30:41Speaker 1: to a well, and then one of the dudes with
- 30:43Speaker 1: the bayonet spears him through and murders Joseph Smith. It's
- 30:46Speaker 1: a terrible way to go. It sounds awful, and I
- 30:50Speaker 1: think it was. Was it Mormons who did this, Mormons
- 30:54Speaker 1: who weren't polygamists, I think so. I'm not clear there
- 30:57Speaker 1: wasn't a mob or whether it's like a totally different situation,
- 31:01Speaker 1: I'm not sure. But he was smartred for the God.
- 31:03Speaker 2: He was. But then Brigham Young was the Mormon Moses,
- 31:08Speaker 2: and he brought all of his polygamist friends out to
- 31:10Speaker 2: Utah and that's where they brought right.
- 31:11Speaker 1: They moved from Nauvoo to Salt Lake City basin or
- 31:15Speaker 1: whatever I guess, And that's how that happened. Yes, And
- 31:18Speaker 1: that was interesting actually for me to learn about because
- 31:21Speaker 1: as a fundamentalist Christian, as an evangelical, and as someone
- 31:25Speaker 1: who was a missionary who was constantly competing, by the way,
- 31:28Speaker 1: with Mormons, and like Tonga and Fiji, the Mormons are
- 31:32Speaker 1: all over those islands, and so it was like a
- 31:34Speaker 1: race to get to the person to save them to
- 31:36Speaker 1: your faith. And so we had to learn a lot
- 31:39Speaker 1: about Mormonism. And so I heard stories about Joseph Smith
- 31:43Speaker 1: and his dispensation from God, what he taught his character,
- 31:48Speaker 1: but like a lot of that is tainted and filtered
- 31:51Speaker 1: through the biased lens of a fundamentalist or an evangelical.
- 31:55Speaker 1: So it's interesting to me, long story long, Yeah, to
- 31:58Speaker 1: hear these explanations of the mythology.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Oh, for sure, I thought it was pretty interesting. And
- 32:03Speaker 2: like how Cody's talking about how he really believes Joseph
- 32:07Speaker 2: Smith's testimony, that's why he's living out polygamy. But I'm like, okay, oh,
- 32:12Speaker 2: we forgot to talk about twain Town. We do. We
- 32:15Speaker 2: totally skipped through that.
- 32:17Speaker 1: We can go back to that, but we don't have
- 32:19Speaker 1: to like edit anything different yet. We could just go
- 32:21Speaker 1: back to Twaintown. But to your point, with Cody talking
- 32:25Speaker 1: a lot, like he mentions this a lot, like how
- 32:28Speaker 1: Joseph Smith's testimony and Joseph Smith's life has inspired him
- 32:33Speaker 1: into plural marriage, and he really believes this as an
- 32:36Speaker 1: article of his faith, Like he seems really passionate about it,
- 32:42Speaker 1: Like in these moments, he seems like he really believes this.
- 32:46Speaker 1: And I again, I'm just wondering what changed so radically
- 32:51Speaker 1: that in just ten years time, you're living a life
- 32:54Speaker 1: that's completely counterintuitive to what you said you believed in
- 32:58Speaker 1: the way you're treating your children and your wives, these
- 33:01Speaker 1: different plural marriages, like is objectively despicable. Yeah, So, like
- 33:06Speaker 1: what happened, I.
- 33:08Speaker 2: Don't know, Like when he was talking about all of
- 33:10Speaker 2: this and how he's just so moved by Joseph Smith's testimony,
- 33:13Speaker 2: I just kind of got the feeling that he was
- 33:16Speaker 2: just regurgitating bullshit that his father told him because his
- 33:19Speaker 2: father converted to polygamy late in life, because he wanted
- 33:22Speaker 2: to bang Janell's mom and that was the whole reason.
- 33:25Speaker 2: So he's telling his son this, Cody says his mom
- 33:28Speaker 2: believed in polygamy too, Like I don't know, it just
- 33:31Speaker 2: felt very regurgitated to me and like he wasn't actually
- 33:34Speaker 2: like believing it, but who knows. I mean, he says
- 33:38Speaker 2: it at the end, he's like, you know, when I'm
- 33:40Speaker 2: dealing with my nagging, cranky, ugly wines essentially is when
- 33:46Speaker 2: he's saying that's the subtext here. He's like, what I'm
- 33:48Speaker 2: dealing with this, I just have to remember this beautiful
- 33:51Speaker 2: story of where we came from and why I believe
- 33:54Speaker 2: this testimony so much. So that's his justification. But I'm like,
- 33:58Speaker 2: you're not happy though, No.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Look at you're definitely not happy. But a lot of
- 34:02Speaker 1: people who are in religion aren't really happy with their situation.
- 34:05Speaker 1: But they're doing it for their faith, or they think
- 34:07Speaker 1: they're doing it for their faith until such time as
- 34:10Speaker 1: they just can't do it anymore, and then they leave
- 34:13Speaker 1: it and or they destroy it, which is what Cody
- 34:15Speaker 1: Brown has done exactly. So let's go back to twain Town.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Twain Town I think was in Kansas.
- 34:20Speaker 2: It's on day four.
- 34:21Speaker 1: Day four, I don't know where it was, Mark, I
- 34:23Speaker 1: think is in twain Town, Missouri. They go and check
- 34:26Speaker 1: out where Mark Twain lived or something, Yes, and they
- 34:29Speaker 1: take a tour and it's it is whatever, But they
- 34:33Speaker 1: do have a tour guide that shares a bit of
- 34:35Speaker 1: Mark Twain's writing about traveling through Salt Lake City.
- 34:40Speaker 2: Yeah, this is pretty great because he was talking about
- 34:42Speaker 2: I think Mark Twain was like, I don't know how
- 34:43Speaker 2: anybody could live polygamy or something, and then he sees
- 34:46Speaker 2: these ugly ass, nasty ass polygamous women and he's like, oh,
- 34:52Speaker 2: it could not be me.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Essentially, Marked much more eloquent than that. But Mark Twain
- 34:57Speaker 1: essentially says I went to Utah, buddy, and all those
- 35:00Speaker 1: women were ungainly, unattractive and not beautiful. And so any
- 35:06Speaker 1: man who marries a Mormon woman is doing a Christian service.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Any man who marries multiple Mormon women are doing is
- 35:13Speaker 1: doing a Christian service for the rest of the world
- 35:15Speaker 1: because those women are not attractive.
- 35:20Speaker 2: And all of the wives and Cody are laughing at this,
- 35:23Speaker 2: and Cody on the couch is making light of it.
- 35:25Speaker 2: But Christine's kind offending.
- 35:27Speaker 1: She's but hurt because she's like, we're not ugly.
- 35:29Speaker 2: And then Cody has to say very forced like, no,
- 35:33Speaker 2: my wives are beautiful, but he's totally laughing about it
- 35:36Speaker 2: because he doesn't think three of those four.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Wives, because not anythink's one of those wives is pretty,
- 35:42Speaker 1: but the rest of those wives not so much. He
- 35:45Speaker 1: also says he's seen a lot of not attractive polygamous women,
- 35:48Speaker 1: and then Christine all in her feelings, he's like, well,
- 35:51Speaker 1: I've seen.
- 35:52Speaker 2: A lot of ugly polygamists. Uh huh.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Very defensive because she's already not being banged by Cody,
- 36:00Speaker 1: she's already fallen out of favor. He doesn't like to
- 36:02Speaker 1: spend time at her house, and she knows he finds
- 36:05Speaker 1: her to be very unattractive, so that hits close to
- 36:09Speaker 1: home for her.
- 36:10Speaker 2: Well, and I know he said all of this like
- 36:12Speaker 2: in season eighteen where he's like, I've never attracted Orstine.
- 36:14Speaker 2: I thought she was ugly and fat and gross. But
- 36:17Speaker 2: I'm like, I'm wondering if he's saying that in these
- 36:19Speaker 2: earlier seasons to her behind closed doors, like mm, I
- 36:22Speaker 2: don't know, your body's not the same after true, not
- 36:25Speaker 2: into it. I'm sorry, Like I wonder if he says
- 36:28Speaker 2: that shit and she's just maybe maybe.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Yeah, I wouldn't put it past him. He seems to
- 36:32Speaker 1: be a cruel person.
- 36:34Speaker 2: Of course. And when you've got Robin's breakdancing posty, I mean.
- 36:37Speaker 1: How care you compare? You can't No, and Diesel.
- 36:41Speaker 2: Geans, Oh my god, I saw Reddit posts today. It
- 36:44Speaker 2: was like from an earlier season, like probably after season five,
- 36:49Speaker 2: and it's Cody just talking about how beautiful Robin is
- 36:52Speaker 2: and it's this angle of her where you can see
- 36:55Speaker 2: her job, and all the people on Reddit were being
- 36:58Speaker 2: so mean, like posting like witch faces. Yeah, because everyone's like, really,
- 37:05Speaker 2: you think Robin's beautiful?
- 37:07Speaker 1: Well, I mean maybe he felt like compared to his
- 37:11Speaker 1: other wives who he was not attracted to, like she
- 37:13Speaker 1: was a step up. Maybe.
- 37:15Speaker 2: I mean I don't see it.
- 37:17Speaker 1: I don't see it either, But like to each their own,
- 37:20Speaker 1: I'm not going to share and try to body show.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Yeah, because we're better than that.
- 37:24Speaker 1: We're better than that, be Adrin.
- 37:27Speaker 2: We don't body shame here, far.
- 37:28Speaker 1: Be it from us.
- 37:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Was that the end of the episode pretty much?
- 37:32Speaker 2: Yeah, Cody talking about Joseph Smith sacrificing himself for his testimony, Okay,
- 37:37Speaker 2: and Cody's like, we could be killed for the oh
- 37:39Speaker 2: and the Okay, Cody and the museum that they wanted
- 37:44Speaker 2: to go see the Mormon Museum, they said they wouldn't
- 37:47Speaker 2: allow Cody and his family and because they were polygamousts.
- 37:51Speaker 2: And I asked Ethel about that. She said, it's probably
- 37:54Speaker 2: actually because they don't want cameras.
- 37:55Speaker 1: And I was thinking it was because they didn't want
- 37:57Speaker 1: the publicity because it's sacred. But I mean, we need
- 38:00Speaker 1: to be martyrs, right to these polygamists. So we're just
- 38:03Speaker 1: trying to show folks that we have a happy, loving
- 38:05Speaker 1: family and we're being persecuted for it. That's part of
- 38:10Speaker 1: their family identity exactly, which is just bullshit.
- 38:15Speaker 2: And then we have the preview for the next episode,
- 38:17Speaker 2: the last episode of the season, and this is where
- 38:19Speaker 2: it starts to get good. At day Okay, because Cody
- 38:22Speaker 2: is bulding, he contemplates shaving his head, which I don't
- 38:26Speaker 2: think he does.
- 38:26Speaker 1: I don't think he does too. I don't ever remember
- 38:28Speaker 1: like photographs of him with a shaved head.
- 38:31Speaker 2: But he's like sitting there with his hair wet, He's
- 38:34Speaker 2: getting ready to get shaved.
- 38:35Speaker 1: Oh, I wish he'd do it.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Oh, God, he looks so much better. Not really. And
- 38:39Speaker 2: then we have Logan leaving for college and the family
- 38:43Speaker 2: is discussing how important it is to have the cul
- 38:45Speaker 2: de sac ready to go so the kids have roots
- 38:48Speaker 2: and a home to come home to. But we know
- 38:50Speaker 2: that doesn't last.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Nope.
- 38:52Speaker 2: And then we have Cody upset with Mary because she
- 38:56Speaker 2: is overspending on her house. Yep, I want to see
- 39:00Speaker 2: it because she cries about it. Yeah.
- 39:01Speaker 1: So they're sitting down in the room with Mona and
- 39:04Speaker 1: it's Cody and Mary and Mona and somebody else. And
- 39:06Speaker 1: Cody comes in with an attitude. He's already pissed off,
- 39:10Speaker 1: and she's like, what's your funky attitude about? And he's
- 39:12Speaker 1: just like, I know you're gonna be over budget. I
- 39:14Speaker 1: know you're overspending, and this is a problem. And Mary's
- 39:18Speaker 1: doors to cry, My walls.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Are growing up.
- 39:21Speaker 1: Mona, can you just meet with the other women first
- 39:24Speaker 1: to know?
- 39:25Speaker 2: I have to collect myself.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Yeah, how about it's because you're overspending and I suspect
- 39:30Speaker 1: you're taking from the family pot to finance your dumb ass,
- 39:35Speaker 1: ugly ass wet bar and your French doors door in
- 39:39Speaker 1: your hobby room and your fifth bedroom.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Wow, I can't wait me neither.
- 39:46Speaker 1: That better be like the bulk of Focus. I don't
- 39:49Speaker 1: care about Logan, I love them very much. I don't care,
- 39:52Speaker 1: and I don't really care about whatever the second thing
- 39:56Speaker 1: was because I've already forgotten.
- 39:58Speaker 2: What it is. Cody's here, Oh what kind of carame?
- 40:01Speaker 1: But he's not going to cut it, so I don't
- 40:03Speaker 1: really care.
- 40:03Speaker 2: I just want to see how much he's balding in
- 40:06Speaker 2: these earlier seasons because I want to compare it with
- 40:09Speaker 2: what we see now.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Yeah, just like these patches of bald.
- 40:12Speaker 2: Hair, seeding, hair achorage, of body showing me more today?
- 40:19Speaker 1: Oh, with some commentary from a stylist, that would be great. Yes,
- 40:23Speaker 1: well this was fun, my dear, Yeah, it was quite interesting.
- 40:26Speaker 1: Is there anything else that we need to say to
- 40:28Speaker 1: these beautiful raccoons before we go? Beatrice?
- 40:31Speaker 2: Well, if you love our podcast, you that wow, we
- 40:35Speaker 2: going to your favorite podcast platform and we're gonna say

- 40:43Speaker 1: We will be back later this week to continue our
- 40:46Speaker 1: conversation about Welcome to Platform and also Unexpected, which has
- 40:50Speaker 1: got to be overstaided. Please Jesus let it be overseeding,
