- 0:00Speaker 1: We always figured someday Mary it would marry.
- 0:02Speaker 2: That's why we called her Mary.
- 0:04Speaker 1: We name all our kids after what we think's going
- 0:07Speaker 1: to happen to them. Ain't that right? Stabbed in jail,
- 0:10Speaker 1: We'll see who stabs who.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Fourfinger Discounted. Welcome to four figure Discounts, where this week
- 0:32Speaker 2: we're here to review episode seventeen of season nineteen of
- 0:35Speaker 2: The Simpsons. It is Apocalypse Cow. I'm Dando and I
- 0:38Speaker 2: am Guy. I was gonna I was gonna say something
- 0:40Speaker 2: about no want to interrupt you go ahead. I think
- 0:43Speaker 2: I've done it now that introduce myself. We need to
- 0:46Speaker 2: add any more than that. I'm guy. I was just
- 0:48Speaker 2: gonna say what you want. We promised no animals will
- 0:50Speaker 2: be beheaded in the making of this podcast. You can
- 0:53Speaker 2: make that guarantee. I will offer no such short as apocalypse
- 0:58Speaker 2: now reference for those who are unaware, isn't it go
- 1:01Speaker 2: watch it? Don't watch it? Or if you give the
- 1:03Speaker 2: end bit it's like during the peak of the film,
- 1:06Speaker 2: isn't it that's true? I think you can really avoid
- 1:08Speaker 2: it if if you've invested the two and a half
- 1:10Speaker 2: hours up till that point, you'll probably want to keep going.
- 1:13Speaker 2: But Yeah, proceed at your own risk, particularly if you're
- 1:15Speaker 2: a Lisa Simpson or in this game, so of this
- 1:18Speaker 2: but Simpson type watch the TV version. I'm sure TV
- 1:20Speaker 2: there were to cut that bit out right. There are
- 1:22Speaker 2: many many versions of Apocalypse. I think there's like three
- 1:25Speaker 2: different cuts, oh, directors cuts like more beheadings, war beheadings.
- 1:29Speaker 2: When I say cats, I mean cats. Yeah, but we
- 1:32Speaker 2: talk a bit about the unified theory of four finger
- 1:34Speaker 2: discus and how things sometimes flow into one of this crazy,
- 1:38Speaker 2: isn't it this a little bit crazy because just recently
- 1:41Speaker 2: listeners of the show and how many programs will know
- 1:43Speaker 2: that we did fun with the fun with the episode
- 1:47Speaker 2: South of season six South Park, Yes, Yes, which involved
- 1:50Speaker 2: young children are being exposed to the brutal reality of
- 1:53Speaker 2: meat production. Tortured baby cow, butcher baby cow, tortured baby cow,
- 1:57Speaker 2: tortured babka. Of course, let's not forget the proper d
- 2:00Speaker 2: for veal and in this case, Yeah, but there's going
- 2:03Speaker 2: along merrily in his life, enjoying a burger every night,
- 2:06Speaker 2: a krussy burger, I imagine, not realizing how the sausage
- 2:09Speaker 2: is made, so to speak, or a benderberger. Was We're
- 2:11Speaker 2: about to review for our fits runner episodes cyber House Rules,
- 2:15Speaker 2: everything is connected. Does this mean everything is unoriginal and
- 2:17Speaker 2: there are no new ideas anymore? Yes, you find out.
- 2:20Speaker 2: But yeah, I want to say this. Dare I say
- 2:23Speaker 2: this right? You may not agree. This is my opinion.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Simpsons in season nineteen handed a topic in a funnier
- 2:31Speaker 2: way and a more effective way than Peak South Park.
- 2:34Speaker 2: I am willing to agree with you on this point.
- 2:37Speaker 2: I did not have a lot of time fun with me.
- 2:38Speaker 2: I thought it was a pretty one note episode. I
- 2:40Speaker 2: didn't think they did a whole lot with the material.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Season nineteen, episode seventeen of The Simpsons. We think we
- 2:46Speaker 2: might be in the weeds. Actually no, we're in a
- 2:48Speaker 2: lush green pasture tended by the four age kids. Yeah,
- 2:51Speaker 2: this was good. This was I mean, I won't say
- 2:53Speaker 2: it was a great episode. There was a lot that
- 2:55Speaker 2: I won't say that didn't sit. But I say a lot.
- 2:58Speaker 2: I'm completely wrong. It wasn't joke joke, joke, but there
- 3:01Speaker 2: are stories there. Yeah, but there were certain aspects that
- 3:03Speaker 2: I'm like, oh, this has played out. I'm not really
- 3:05Speaker 2: a fan of this. But there were also those facts
- 3:07Speaker 2: that kind of worked for me pretty well. AKA Kleidus,
- 3:11Speaker 2: clead Us, and the whole Sparkler family, at least with
- 3:13Speaker 2: the exception of Mary WrestleMania Sparkler voiced by the delightful
- 3:16Speaker 2: Zoey Dish. I know it is.
- 3:18Speaker 3: That's why it's great, Yes, yeah, I mean, because like,
- 3:22Speaker 3: this is clearly a guest star, and she didn't play
- 3:24Speaker 3: some sort of awkward geeky she always plays five hundred
- 3:27Speaker 3: Days Summer, always got range.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Yeah, but she she was playing a hillbilly daughter here,
- 3:32Speaker 2: and you wouldn't know it was zoe you know, I
- 3:34Speaker 2: knew it was a guest star, and I thought, yeah,
- 3:36Speaker 2: this person's actually bringing a bit of personality this. They're
- 3:39Speaker 2: doing a good job. This could be a Simpsons regular player,
- 3:42Speaker 2: or it could be someone new. It's not a regular
- 3:44Speaker 2: boy turned into be Zoey Deshanel, who you know we
- 3:47Speaker 2: know from New Girl and being quirky and all that
- 3:49Speaker 2: kind of stuff and El and El and of course
- 3:52Speaker 2: five hundred Days Off Summer. But no, I did a
- 3:54Speaker 2: good job as Mary. I thought, yes, I thought, yeah,
- 3:56Speaker 2: she was fantastic. I just thought overall though, this for
- 3:59Speaker 2: me was like the perfect example of when people say
- 4:02Speaker 2: what separates the Simpsons from other animated shows. Right, so
- 4:05Speaker 2: the family Guy just goes for the crude humor, right,
- 4:08Speaker 2: South Park does the coue humor in a more interphisticated way. Yiscated.
- 4:12Speaker 2: The Simpsons is still the Simpsons, even in season nineteen
- 4:15Speaker 2: when they fucking put their heads to it, they can
- 4:18Speaker 2: still be the Simpsons. There's still the goat in that way.
- 4:21Speaker 2: They're still sort of yeah, got the crown in that
- 4:23Speaker 2: regard because I liked fun with veil. But I thought
- 4:26Speaker 2: this one here handled in a way that it got
- 4:28Speaker 2: the message through. But I think this was more one
- 4:30Speaker 2: sided than the South Park one. South Park sort of
- 4:33Speaker 2: showed it from both sides of the equation. That's the
- 4:35Speaker 2: South Park way, though. It always tries to show both
- 4:38Speaker 2: sides of the issue, even if one side may be
- 4:40Speaker 2: less popular or less palttle than the other. Yeah, but
- 4:43Speaker 2: this one went a little deeper, I thought. But yeah,
- 4:46Speaker 2: both an emotion intellectually and emotionally. You're right, So where
- 4:49Speaker 2: South Park felt more like a parody of the situation. Yeah,
- 4:52Speaker 2: like how ridiculous is always how ridiculous can we make it?
- 4:55Speaker 2: Which is what South Park does, and they always thought
- 4:57Speaker 2: really really well. But I saw the Simpsons here This
- 4:59Speaker 2: was almost, could we say, a sequel to Lisa's vegetarian
- 5:02Speaker 2: I reckon? So yeah, yeah, yeah, there's definitely definitely a
- 5:05Speaker 2: through line between the two of them. I wonder if
- 5:06Speaker 2: that was sort of a vibe going in with season
- 5:08Speaker 2: nineteen just in the writer's room, because last week we
- 5:10Speaker 2: had the sequel to Colonel Homer. So they've gone back
- 5:13Speaker 2: to like classic episodes and continuing on the story, and
- 5:16Speaker 2: both episodes have been really good. Does this mean they're
- 5:18Speaker 2: building on existing material or they've just run out of it?
- 5:22Speaker 2: You never stop, The Simpsons never stop. The song is correct.
- 5:26Speaker 2: But again, though this was a this was a really
- 5:28Speaker 2: nice story, haw Do its moments like you said that
- 5:30Speaker 2: you cleared us, I'm done with the hillbilly jokes, dire
- 5:33Speaker 2: Betty and things like that whatever. But the overall story
- 5:36Speaker 2: of the Simpsons as a family unit work together to
- 5:40Speaker 2: solve to solve a problem that was good. Yeah. I mean,
- 5:43Speaker 2: as we said, I could have done without all the
- 5:44Speaker 2: Sparkler stuff. It just hom a punching Flanders as well.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Didn't need it, yeah, I mean, And even Lisa's plan
- 5:51Speaker 2: to sort of convert but to vegetarianism or veganism was
- 5:54Speaker 2: like that's pretty shitty. I mean, I'm all for organizations
- 5:59Speaker 2: like Peter or what have you. You're using persuasive and sometimes,
- 6:03Speaker 2: you know, really playing on your emotions to get their
- 6:05Speaker 2: point across. But Lisa can seem kind of devious. But
- 6:10Speaker 2: I think that's a deliberate choice by the writers here.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I think they're trying to betray you know, sometimes they
- 6:15Speaker 2: go over and beyond to try and force you to
- 6:18Speaker 2: think their way of thinking about when you say veganism, right,
- 6:20Speaker 2: Yeah she didn't. It wasn't over the top. But I
- 6:23Speaker 2: think it's just in Lisa's way. This is her way
- 6:25Speaker 2: of trying to push her beliefs into Bart, trying to
- 6:27Speaker 2: convince him and trick him. Yeah. I mean, well, organizations
- 6:30Speaker 2: like PETER, which is the People for Ethical Treatment of
- 6:32Speaker 2: Animals just in case you didn't know, Yeah, they're often
- 6:35Speaker 2: pilloried for Like you guys are really pushing this hard
- 6:38Speaker 2: on people. Yeah, you're probably losing more friends than you
- 6:41Speaker 2: are making. I just want to get to work, stop
- 6:43Speaker 2: sitting on the road. I just want a nice tasty
- 6:46Speaker 2: veal chop. But I did look about this though, was
- 6:48Speaker 2: the way it south? I did as well, from a
- 6:50Speaker 2: veal the hypocrisy that comes with it. So for example,
- 6:53Speaker 2: I lie in this right, I lay in this in
- 6:55Speaker 2: this field. I eat beef, I ate chicken, but I
- 6:58Speaker 2: don't eat pork, right, And it's just a choice. I'm
- 7:00Speaker 2: not a vegan, I'm not a vegetarian. I just choose
- 7:02Speaker 2: not to eat pigs because you know, I just like pigs. Right, Okay,
- 7:06Speaker 2: that's I Still I'm not gonna judge people who do
- 7:10Speaker 2: eat pigs. But but here, I think that's why I
- 7:12Speaker 2: could relate to him, because he's like, look, I'll stop
- 7:14Speaker 2: eating beef, but I'm gonna eat everything else as well.
- 7:17Speaker 2: And I think home was the same at the end,
- 7:18Speaker 2: right after everything I've seen are but this is and
- 7:23Speaker 2: the sweetest meat of them all. Yes, human, Yes, which
- 7:25Speaker 2: was a bit silly, but like I like the fact
- 7:27Speaker 2: that pretty funny. I like the way they sort of
- 7:29Speaker 2: they highlighted that you don't have to just stop eating
- 7:32Speaker 2: meat altogether. You can sort of get the message across
- 7:35Speaker 2: by choosing not to eat one particular one. And then
- 7:37Speaker 2: so I'm like, oh, why do you eat that? And
- 7:38Speaker 2: you go, oh, I don't really like the way cows
- 7:39Speaker 2: are treated, the way they slaughter or whatever, And you go.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's a more positive way of reinforcing that
- 7:44Speaker 2: message is supposed to go stop eating me altogether. I mean, yeah,
- 7:47Speaker 2: appreciate baby steps. Yeah, how you get to real steps?
- 7:49Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I mean list has gone all the way,
- 7:51Speaker 2: but that's fine. I'm glad that she by the end
- 7:53Speaker 2: she could accept that. But I know you don't want
- 7:56Speaker 2: to go all the way, but at least you're making
- 7:57Speaker 2: some sort of effort. Yeah. And if you're gonna eat meat,
- 7:59Speaker 2: own it. I mean, you know, don't always a great
- 8:02Speaker 2: little vagina's wayview. That's true. Yeah, I mean that's the
- 8:04Speaker 2: one that's the ones in the South Park got right? Yes, yes,
- 8:08Speaker 2: Also before we get into our favorite moments, we actually
- 8:10Speaker 2: was throwing this into my favorite moments one sec he
- 8:13Speaker 2: my favorite and his favorite moments. I like the shadouts.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Trust mean you've got in this episode they gave a
- 8:18Speaker 2: little love to trust about time. Yeah. She's a name
- 8:21Speaker 2: checked she is, which I think left and right because
- 8:23Speaker 2: the only they didn't do it twice. She is mount
- 8:26Speaker 2: Rushmore of voice acting when it comes to not just
- 8:28Speaker 2: female voice actors, just voice actors in general. She's incredible.
- 8:31Speaker 2: Here we go a little love deservedly so yes, uh
- 8:35Speaker 2: one of her favorite moments did you have from this episode?
- 8:37Speaker 2: I only had a couple and yeah, sort of little
- 8:40Speaker 2: throwaway gags and things like that, but yeah, Abatuire and Costello,
- 8:44Speaker 2: I thought was a great for a for an Abatire
- 8:48Speaker 2: And while I didn't really have a lot of time
- 8:50Speaker 2: for all this stuff involving the sparklers and the hillbilly lifestyle,
- 8:54Speaker 2: it was a bad joke with a good punchline. Oh,
- 8:57Speaker 2: they were like, oh we called her AMERICAUS. We wanted
- 8:59Speaker 2: them Mary. You know we name all our kids after.
- 9:02Speaker 2: What's going to happen to him? Isn't that right? Stabbed
- 9:04Speaker 2: in jail? I like the kid just whittling, We'll see
- 9:06Speaker 2: your stabs. So that was all right, that was okay.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I got a good laugh out of that. I really
- 9:13Speaker 2: liked the jab at parts of the Caribbean Free. I
- 9:16Speaker 2: must have been like, you're part of the Disney machine. Now. Yeah.
- 9:19Speaker 2: That was like when he goes over the menu, I'm like,
- 9:21Speaker 2: what's going to come out of this? And it's funny.
- 9:24Speaker 2: I mean, I mean I was reviewing movies at the
- 9:26Speaker 2: time that you know which one is it? At World's End?
- 9:30Speaker 2: I don't know. Before isn't it Curse of the Black
- 9:32Speaker 2: Perp dead man ches. Yeah, I think it's that's world's
- 9:37Speaker 2: end when the stranger tides and dead men don't tell No.
- 9:41Speaker 2: That's right, that's your right. Yeah man, that's my fucking
- 9:46Speaker 2: ride story. But the ride broke down, dird Man tell
- 9:49Speaker 2: no tales. I remember when the third one came, I
- 9:52Speaker 2: was like, oh God, these things are bloated and unwieldy,
- 9:54Speaker 2: and it's just a bit march And this was maybe
- 9:58Speaker 2: just prior of the m c U and you know
- 9:59Speaker 2: what's happened with Star Wars and all that kind of stuff,
- 10:01Speaker 2: And you look back at the parts of the Caribbean,
- 10:04Speaker 2: I mean, not exactly my favorite. I wish I liked
- 10:06Speaker 2: it more than I did. But there's a lot going
- 10:08Speaker 2: on here, a lot of imaginations. Yeah, I'm like, yeah,
- 10:10Speaker 2: I was a really good cast and all that kind
- 10:13Speaker 2: of stuff. So, I mean, the British guy on Jim's
- 10:15Speaker 2: podcast once the one he's lacky, he's right hand man,
- 10:19Speaker 2: Kevin McNally, yes, Kevin Manwie yeah, good actors the office
- 10:23Speaker 2: was the other guy. Yeah. Yeah. So it's funny that
- 10:27Speaker 2: we're sort of looking at parts of the Caribbean three,
- 10:29Speaker 2: and I was like, oh, this is the worst Hollywood doo.
- 10:32Speaker 2: It's like, bring it back, we need to go back.
- 10:35Speaker 2: Those movies were massive at the time. I really were. Yeah,
- 10:38Speaker 2: I mean it's the same we sort of got the
- 10:39Speaker 2: lure of diminishing returns with the you know, the two
- 10:42Speaker 2: and a half man effect with Johnny depping parts of
- 10:44Speaker 2: the Caribbean. It's basically he was just like, he was
- 10:46Speaker 2: very sadlin and also he was kind of on the
- 10:49Speaker 2: on the edge, on the skids. Yeah, shall we say?
- 10:51Speaker 2: I mean, and they keep talking about rebooting. Yeah, I
- 10:55Speaker 2: think it's been twenty years. If we stop rebooting shit
- 10:57Speaker 2: that happened in this century, well, I think, yeah, that's
- 11:00Speaker 2: I think there's been there's been just enough of a
- 11:02Speaker 2: lapse in time that we're now were going what was
- 11:05Speaker 2: good with those parts? The camera? I don't think can
- 11:07Speaker 2: we do in two thousand and two? Wasn't it the
- 11:08Speaker 2: first one? I think, so, yeah, it's twenty No, we
- 11:11Speaker 2: don't need rebriosit twenty years. I suppose in ninety ninety
- 11:14Speaker 2: nine reboots something seventy nine. That's It feels weird to
- 11:17Speaker 2: me that, you know, something that happened in the late
- 11:19Speaker 2: nineties is to equivalent something happened in like the sixties,
- 11:21Speaker 2: and that's just like I was listening to some podcast
- 11:22Speaker 2: this morning and they were talking about, oh yeah, the
- 11:24Speaker 2: nineteen nineties ten years ago, no, nop no, twenty five
- 11:28Speaker 2: years ago. But they were talking about like a Pirates
- 11:30Speaker 2: Caribbean with Margot Robbie is the lead, and I'm like,
- 11:32Speaker 2: I'd watch it. I want to give a shout out
- 11:34Speaker 2: to a YouTube channel. I came across this in a
- 11:37Speaker 2: Facebook group like Australian nineties two thousand things right. It's
- 11:41Speaker 2: called Tazzy TV's a YouTube channel and he has put
- 11:44Speaker 2: every top fifty rage Aria charts in their entirety from
- 11:49Speaker 2: nineteen eighty seven through to like two thousand and one. Again,
- 11:52Speaker 2: send me a link, Yeah, I'll send you a link. Yeah,
- 11:54Speaker 2: tazzy tv on YouTube. He's got like fifteen thousand subscribers
- 11:57Speaker 2: and read everyone. It's like, we just watched Rage from
- 11:59Speaker 2: nineteen ninety seven, just every song and it's entirey. It's fantastic, brilliant.
- 12:04Speaker 2: You know sometimes when they were't allowed to play the
- 12:05Speaker 2: clip and just play out the rage do do Do
- 12:07Speaker 2: Do Do Do Do? It's like Rage. It was a ABC,
- 12:12Speaker 2: which is like that, what is it in the States,
- 12:15Speaker 2: I guess like PBS and someone. It's government funded, government funded,
- 12:18Speaker 2: And every Saturday morning they would play the top fifty
- 12:20Speaker 2: songs in their entirety. But also it would play overnight
- 12:23Speaker 2: on Friday and night yes Saturday, yes, so yeah, yeah,
- 12:26Speaker 2: you come back from the night club rages on the
- 12:30Speaker 2: Other great thing about Rage was the thing that I
- 12:32Speaker 2: remember most is all these international acts would come out
- 12:36Speaker 2: and they be booked to like program Rage, and we
- 12:38Speaker 2: were allowed to show on television. The main clip was
- 12:42Speaker 2: like this artist Aphex twin a song called window Licker.
- 12:47Speaker 2: Yeah it's like just hardcore electronica, but the clip is
- 12:50Speaker 2: just window Licker. Yeah, it's fantastic songs link in the
- 12:53Speaker 2: show notes but you're going to do it? Break what
- 12:58Speaker 2: that's still job? But yeah, and the Clippers just insane.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Uh.
- 13:06Speaker 2: And you know all these international companies, we can program this,
- 13:10Speaker 2: we can watch this, we can play this. So that
- 13:13Speaker 2: would often get on Rage and a whole new generation
- 13:15Speaker 2: of peop would just get traumatized by watching it. You're
- 13:18Speaker 2: turned down or you're watching next But yeah, oh that
- 13:20Speaker 2: that sounds great. Testy TV props to that person. Yes,
- 13:23Speaker 2: also I enjoyed endorsing the farm subsidy check for crops
- 13:26Speaker 2: that he didn't grow. And Laughter House. I thought it
- 13:29Speaker 2: was quite funny. Laughter House is good. Did that happen
- 13:32Speaker 2: in the Was it in the dark night that you know?
- 13:36Speaker 2: There's a scene where the joke is like in a
- 13:37Speaker 2: truck or something. Ah, it's the truck either says slaughterhouse
- 13:43Speaker 2: when you when you drive through the tunnel in the truck,
- 13:45Speaker 2: isn't he Yeah, yeah, there's some kind of chase that's
- 13:48Speaker 2: when the truck the bike chase. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It
- 13:51Speaker 2: either already says slaughter house and the joker crossed to
- 13:54Speaker 2: make it a laughter house, or it's called laught house
- 13:57Speaker 2: and he puts an air on it to make it
- 13:58Speaker 2: slaughter which the Joka might do because he's just that whacking.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I saw again, what little sidetrack. Someone put a clip
- 14:07Speaker 2: of Jack Nicholson's Joker dancing to princes and they're like,
- 14:10Speaker 2: the Joker was this fucking cool? Just dancing an art
- 14:15Speaker 2: gallery painting Joker's name, dancing to prince Even looking forward
- 14:18Speaker 2: to the second Joker, Did you like the first Joker?
- 14:21Speaker 2: I liked bits of it. I think we talked about this. Yeah,
- 14:24Speaker 2: so we don't get the best covery. But yeah, I
- 14:26Speaker 2: mean I will watch it, but there's just moments that
- 14:28Speaker 2: sort of stuck with me. But overall, went it is
- 14:31Speaker 2: what it is. Yeah, Yeah, that's someone I'm necessarily hyped
- 14:34Speaker 2: to revisit. But like, actually it's pretty good movie the time,
- 14:36Speaker 2: but I wouldn't saying the sequel, Yeah, I like Lady Gaga.
- 14:39Speaker 2: Next question, you there eating the paste trivia time? What's
- 14:43Speaker 2: your first question? But you have any guess? So many questions? Three? Four, four?
- 14:48Speaker 2: All right, I've got four as well. Have me with
- 14:49Speaker 2: you first? Okay, who is the Transclamomorph's mortal enemy? Oh,
- 14:55Speaker 2: it's the something Botsno bots, but it's the more as well,
- 15:01Speaker 2: they say that, Okay, but that's the actual name. Is
- 15:04Speaker 2: the Dino Robobots? Okay? Yeah, I did actually also enjoy
- 15:08Speaker 2: that aspect as well. The just selling marketing to kids. Yeah,
- 15:11Speaker 2: we'll get into when we get to that part of
- 15:13Speaker 2: the episode. But what is the name of the CD
- 15:15Speaker 2: that trustmcneil is doing the voice for. Is it Anguished Animals? Three? Yes? Yeah,
- 15:21Speaker 2: Another transclonemorph related question. How much per text? Oh? Two dollars? Fifteen? No,
- 15:30Speaker 2: fifteen fifteen dollars per text. Holy mackerel. All right, My
- 15:34Speaker 2: next question is how many hours of cartoons were they
- 15:36Speaker 2: going to watch in the morning. We're going to WAT six. Correct.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Lisa's code name is wind Song. What are the names?
- 15:44Speaker 2: Were the code names of her? Two fellow active at
- 15:46Speaker 2: compost and Solar Panel. Solar Panel Bar is Lisa's brother.
- 15:51Speaker 2: What was Maggie refusing to eat spinach? Cream spinach? Was
- 15:55Speaker 2: it or the cream spinach? Okay, was a cream spinach
- 15:56Speaker 2: or just saw tae spinach tape spinach as they would
- 15:59Speaker 2: say in a fancy hotel, and you order eggs, well,
- 16:02Speaker 2: there's in the fryes, none of that. What are you
- 16:05Speaker 2: talking about? I've got a thing to point out, a
- 16:08Speaker 2: slight little nitpeak here, like one of an iconic moment
- 16:11Speaker 2: from The Simpsons, his Homer saying no one's gonna no
- 16:14Speaker 2: one's gonna fear of everything, right whatever, and Marge shays
- 16:17Speaker 2: sock puppets, and Homer screams and runs away, and yeah
- 16:20Speaker 2: he's using a sock puppet here. Quittinuity, people, four characters growth.
- 16:27Speaker 2: This is the point counterpoints stuff you come to four
- 16:29Speaker 2: fingers before this kind of heated debate let's let's move
- 16:34Speaker 2: on my next question to you. My final question to you.
- 16:37Speaker 2: Mary's d QAT score is what fourteen fifteen something? Fifteen something?
- 16:46Speaker 2: It was eight hundred and seven hundred, wasn't it. I've
- 16:49Speaker 2: a little bit more than the seven hundred and something,
- 16:51Speaker 2: so well, yeah, yeah, I don't know what it was.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Fifteen eighty one was like dairy something, wasn't it. It
- 16:55Speaker 2: was like dairy and the I think the other was
- 16:57Speaker 2: some ice cream brander. Yeah, I should have done some
- 17:00Speaker 2: I'm googling, yes, but I didn't. Awesome pausing in checking
- 17:02Speaker 2: their subtitles, That's what I mean. Well, no, well, I
- 17:04Speaker 2: could have just written it down even then. It was
- 17:08Speaker 2: something that I didn't recognized. Was like pret you know,
- 17:10Speaker 2: that's an ice cream brand and I could look. But
- 17:12Speaker 2: you know, we're making you do a little work as well.
- 17:14Speaker 2: You know there's an interactive podcast. What is Mary's middle name?
- 17:19Speaker 2: It's Wrestlemine wrestle Mania. How did I know you would
- 17:21Speaker 2: probably pick that a question? It's time now for some
- 17:34Speaker 2: stone cutters. We do like stone cutters, don't we. I
- 17:38Speaker 2: love them, especially when you just like to know, especially
- 17:40Speaker 2: the number one stonecutter Nomero. No, Yes, actually we don't
- 17:44Speaker 2: know who number one stone Cutter is. It's actually a secret.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Well that's true, but in our hearts, in our hearts,
- 17:48Speaker 2: yes it is katyg with her one one hundred dollars support.
- 17:51Speaker 2: Thank you so much, kd G. I was going to
- 17:52Speaker 2: say Andrews. It's Katie G. Of course it is. But
- 17:55Speaker 2: we also like Andrew zero whole yehy do? Why do
- 17:58Speaker 2: we like it? Because it gives us fifty dollars a
- 17:59Speaker 2: month after Champion so much. Yes, absolute legend. Also our
- 18:03Speaker 2: man' z that Pruitt. He's going to be launching his

- 18:28Speaker 2: for this gap before we even had a Patreon. He
- 18:31Speaker 2: don't ad the money what what a lord? A lord
- 18:34Speaker 2: and lady and katy, But feel free to keep this
- 18:37Speaker 2: in you like. But a while ago we received the
- 18:40Speaker 2: lovely care package from Pat Right from Canadia. Was a
- 18:45Speaker 2: Pat Right, pat orchestrated all we got lovely sweet treats
- 18:50Speaker 2: and savory treats. Yeah we got what was the drink?
- 18:52Speaker 2: We've got? The was it? It wasn't seven up, was it?
- 18:56Speaker 2: It was a soft trick of some kind of I
- 18:59Speaker 2: can't remember. But we did get maple syrup, delicious love
- 19:04Speaker 2: and lots of treats and yeah, do it again? Why
- 19:08Speaker 2: do I bring this up? It's not like we want
- 19:09Speaker 2: another like that. No, we would never say such a thing.

- 20:21Speaker 2: linked description of this podcast. All right, mister Davis, let's
- 20:23Speaker 2: get into a review of Apocalypse Cow. The episode kicks
- 20:25Speaker 2: off the episode Sorry, debuted premiered April twenty seven, two
- 20:29Speaker 2: thousand and eight, written by Jeff Westbrook and directed by
- 20:32Speaker 2: Nancy Cruz. Okay, I really liked the start of this episode.
- 20:37Speaker 2: I've made it no secret that I love My favorite
- 20:41Speaker 2: visual of The Simpsons is the house early morning on
- 20:45Speaker 2: the weekend, the music playing, the nice music, the sun's
- 20:48Speaker 2: are starting to rise, just takes me back to being
- 20:50Speaker 2: a kid on the weekends. Right, it's clear that you
- 20:52Speaker 2: enjoyed that. Before we want to talk about that very start?
- 20:54Speaker 2: Do we want to talk about the gag, the couch gag,
- 20:56Speaker 2: even a board gag which we got this time. Yeah,
- 20:58Speaker 2: chalt gag is a person's a person, no matter how Ralph. Yes,
- 21:02Speaker 2: it's a reference to the Doctor Seuss story. Here's a who.
- 21:07Speaker 2: And the couch gag was a parody of how to
- 21:09Speaker 2: pronounce it's the Bao tak. Yeah yeah, but the BeO
- 21:13Speaker 2: tapestry is like it almost your expectations, Like there's not
- 21:18Speaker 2: going to be a lot in this episode. Do they
- 21:19Speaker 2: have to really stretch out the couch gag so you
- 21:21Speaker 2: get not concerned? But I get concerned every time when
- 21:26Speaker 2: it is an extended catch gag. I'm just like oh,
- 21:28Speaker 2: they had an ideas. I got scared. I'll admit it.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I'm not I'm not afraid to admit it. A man
- 21:33Speaker 2: going to admit that he is scared. Yes, but but yeah,
- 21:36Speaker 2: as I was saying, I really like it when it's
- 21:37Speaker 2: early morning, it just takes me back because it was
- 21:40Speaker 2: Saturday morning here on the weekend, right, and the kids
- 21:43Speaker 2: is sort of in the as it. I'm just like
- 21:46Speaker 2: when I was a kid. You know, you have your
- 21:48Speaker 2: Saturday morning cartoons, you do you know what was going
- 21:49Speaker 2: to be on it. That was part of the excitement.
- 21:51Speaker 2: What cartoons are going to be on Now the kids
- 21:53Speaker 2: are just like I want always years, I want to
- 21:55Speaker 2: watch it. I'm like you kids just have no idea.
- 21:57Speaker 2: You got it these days? Won don't you do the
- 22:00Speaker 2: thrill of the unknown? Yes? Yeah, I don't know. This
- 22:06Speaker 2: is a great story. Our man Andrew Swan right spoil
- 22:09Speaker 2: of the pod. He runs out site for us, does everything,
- 22:11Speaker 2: he fixes everything. Right, let's just use his plex anyway.
- 22:14Speaker 2: He's got this new thing of plex, right, He's gonna
- 22:16Speaker 2: help me set up because he already does it. He's
- 22:19Speaker 2: got shows from like nineteen ninety seven or whatever, right, like,
- 22:22Speaker 2: just say all the Simpsons episodes fro ninety six and
- 22:23Speaker 2: ninety seven whatever. He's gone to YouTube and got commercials
- 22:26Speaker 2: from that era, and he's created like a playlist, and
- 22:29Speaker 2: it's a twenty four hour channel that randomly picks episodes
- 22:31Speaker 2: from the playlist and ads at the right time, so
- 22:35Speaker 2: that it's like living in nineteen ninety seven. I explain
- 22:38Speaker 2: this to Nikola with so much excitement, and she looked
- 22:41Speaker 2: at me and she goes, there are so many more
- 22:43Speaker 2: things you could do with your time. She prefaces by going,
- 22:49Speaker 2: I'm glad you're excited for this, but there are so
- 22:52Speaker 2: many more things around his house you could be doing.
- 22:55Speaker 2: But the idea of be able to turn on Channel
- 22:57Speaker 2: seven from nineteen ninety seven Channel seven nine ninety eight,
- 23:00Speaker 2: that right. I don't use the word hero very often,
- 23:03Speaker 2: but Andrew, Wow, you are the greatest hero. Yeah, you
- 23:08Speaker 2: were the opposite of history's greatest monster. Man. I just thought,
- 23:12Speaker 2: how great is that? Right? Plex perfect? I'm well, I
- 23:17Speaker 2: can jump. I'm pretty sure I can jump into one
- 23:19Speaker 2: of these ples yours. Yeah, I'm pretty sure he's giving
- 23:22Speaker 2: you access. Maybe. If not, let's let's do it it, Swanny,
- 23:25Speaker 2: Let's make it happen. All right, So yeah, so basically
- 23:27Speaker 2: you could also get access to mine, like guy watching
- 23:29Speaker 2: some weird shiit, what's going on here? It's early morning.
- 23:31Speaker 2: I just love this crush. He's like beautiful sunny there
- 23:34Speaker 2: eye six hours a yard. Dudes, it was the best
- 23:35Speaker 2: way to spend the morning. Oh god, yeah, I mean,
- 23:38Speaker 2: I think we've talked about that meme that was going
- 23:39Speaker 2: around a while ago. It's like no one ever remembers
- 23:42Speaker 2: the best afternoon in their lives in front of the TV,
- 23:44Speaker 2: and a whole lot of nerds came yes. I go, well,
- 23:48Speaker 2: it's funny because I just play video games a lot
- 23:50Speaker 2: when I was a kid whatnot. And Nicola challenged me
- 23:52Speaker 2: to a Mario cut went to the Kingpin time Zone
- 23:54Speaker 2: arcade center at the casino on the weekend, and I
- 23:58Speaker 2: was like, I wasn't letting her win, but she was
- 23:59Speaker 2: just in front of me, and I was holding on
- 24:00Speaker 2: to one of those shells just for the right moment,
- 24:03Speaker 2: and I let her picture about to win. Whoo through
- 24:05Speaker 2: that she went straight past her, and I was like,
- 24:07Speaker 2: my youth not wasted, but yeah, watching cartoons in the morning,
- 24:13Speaker 2: what a great time. Oh yeah, maybe I had that
- 24:15Speaker 2: as well, but certainly like I think, like a perfect
- 24:19Speaker 2: childhood Saturday afternoon. It's like Saturday afternoon. We didn't we
- 24:23Speaker 2: had a Sunday morning. We had on Sunday. Little bit I'm saying,
- 24:25Speaker 2: I'm thinking about the afternoon. It'll be like, you know,
- 24:26Speaker 2: some B grade sci fi movie from the nineteen fifties
- 24:30Speaker 2: on the on the matinee, maybe a footy game. Maybe
- 24:32Speaker 2: maybe a footy game. But for an indoor kid like me,
- 24:34Speaker 2: it's more like Earth versus the Flame makesself a you know,
- 24:41Speaker 2: a grilled chy sandwich, either a glassic Quick or a
- 24:44Speaker 2: Quick or a lemon cordial. And it's like, oh, it
- 24:49Speaker 2: doesn't get any better than this, peo when you go
- 24:50Speaker 2: outside with your friends. I'm with my friends, Mom, this
- 24:54Speaker 2: is the Flying Sauce. Why don't you watch that? Cats
- 24:56Speaker 2: versus the Damon's Earth versus the Playing Sauce. Bobby's just
- 25:01Speaker 2: He's like, what's the golfer from Havy Gilmore? But yeah,
- 25:07Speaker 2: you're right, Yes, it's a great way to start the day.
- 25:09Speaker 2: I'll be a missed Ozzie Simpsons fans out there right there,
- 25:12Speaker 2: going dando. If you don't mention this, I'm not gonna
- 25:14Speaker 2: subscribe anymore. Every weekend for a child in Australia growing
- 25:19Speaker 2: up in the mid nineties through too. I said mid
- 25:21Speaker 2: two thousands, maybe even a bit later, but mid tw
- 25:24Speaker 2: thousand probably when I stop watching it religiously Super Simpsons
- 25:27Speaker 2: weekends every Saturday morning, every Sunday morning on Fox eight
- 25:30Speaker 2: here in Australia from nine till twelve, it was incredible.
- 25:34Speaker 2: We didn't know what episodes are going to be on.
- 25:35Speaker 2: You didn't care. It was the Simpsons. It was part
- 25:37Speaker 2: of your life. You had to watch the Simpsons, much
- 25:40Speaker 2: like Monday to Friday six pm, Channel ten we watch
- 25:42Speaker 2: the Simpsons. Then nine till twelve we had our marathons,
- 25:44Speaker 2: and then they brought in this inn called Fox Fox
- 25:46Speaker 2: eight two and they would replay them two hours later,
- 25:48Speaker 2: so you'd watch the same episodes two hours later. Amazing.
- 25:51Speaker 2: There's a level of excitement. It's catching and also scary Simpsons.
- 25:55Speaker 2: I think I've just mentioned this to like Matt Salomon
- 25:57Speaker 2: and other fans from around the world, Matt Simon Simpsons,
- 26:00Speaker 2: which she's obviously but he's like, yeah, marathons every week
- 26:03Speaker 2: and every week we had a marathon. It's like, that's amazing.
- 26:06Speaker 2: We loved it here, dude, oh, Simpsons in Australia. We
- 26:09Speaker 2: don't know how good we had it, but now we've
- 26:11Speaker 2: got every episode whenever we want. It just doesn't feel
- 26:13Speaker 2: the same though. No, you need a little randomizing in
- 26:15Speaker 2: your life. Yeah. I mentioned this on Twitter and on
- 26:18Speaker 2: Facebook and it went ballistic. Disney Plus, if you are
- 26:21Speaker 2: watching this guest, do you Disney make a randomized button
- 26:25Speaker 2: for not just The Simpsons, but for every show possible,
- 26:27Speaker 2: so we can just we don't want to pick anymore.
- 26:29Speaker 2: We want you to tell us randomize that shit. That's
- 26:32Speaker 2: not hard. We're sick of choosing. We're sick of democracy.
- 26:35Speaker 2: South Park Studios has a randomized button. Surely you can
- 26:38Speaker 2: just have a randomized button. You're Disney. You can do anything.
- 26:41Speaker 2: You can do anything. You can do anything, you are
- 26:42Speaker 2: doing it. You run the world. You are doing everything.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Who runs the world world? If you're a fan of
- 26:48Speaker 2: everything we do here at Fourth Finger Discamp, but you're
- 26:50Speaker 2: kind of hearing these pesky ads, then you'll absolutely love
- 26:53Speaker 2: being a member of the fourth Finger Discamp family on Patreon,

- 26:58Speaker 2: hours of bonus podcast, but you also get access to

- 27:07Speaker 2: and so much more. So go ahead, join the family
- 27:09Speaker 2: today and support your palas Guy and Dano for as
- 27:11Speaker 2: little as one dollar per month at patreon dot com
- 27:14Speaker 2: slash fourthing a discount. So the kids are watching six
- 27:16Speaker 2: hours of cartoons, which means they're watching transclown Wolves, Transclana Worphs,
- 27:20Speaker 2: Transplanta Worps. Yes, I take all the Transformers obviously, yes,
- 27:24Speaker 2: and could mean something different in twenty twenty four, Yes
- 27:27Speaker 2: it could, but just it hits hard. Just the marketing.
- 27:30Speaker 2: Having to buy this was me and I'm now it's
- 27:33Speaker 2: rubbing off on me from me onto Elliott and it's
- 27:35Speaker 2: just like I have to have this toy. It's like
- 27:37Speaker 2: every season now that especially the way they had the
- 27:40Speaker 2: Dino bots here, it feels like every show now if
- 27:42Speaker 2: it's Spidy and his amazing friends right now, they've been
- 27:45Speaker 2: given dino suits where they transform into dinosaurs and I
- 27:48Speaker 2: was like, this is a spider Man Donosaurus is like
- 27:53Speaker 2: want want one Wan Want want and I was like,
- 27:55Speaker 2: bye bye bye. We did do a nerdy video about it,
- 28:00Speaker 2: and I went ballistic. We go things are going ballistic
- 28:02Speaker 2: for Dando recently. That's good news. We both had birthdays
- 28:06Speaker 2: recently and one of my I made a minor pledge.
- 28:09Speaker 2: It's like, okay, look I've got, you know, birthday discounts
- 28:11Speaker 2: coming in from various retailers and whatnot. Hey, gay, you've
- 28:14Speaker 2: been a good castory. Here's twenty percent off your next thing.
- 28:16Speaker 2: Blah blah blah. I was like, okay, I'll do a
- 28:20Speaker 2: little round of purchasing. But then, guy, you've got enough stuff.
- 28:24Speaker 2: You don't need anything else, not for a while at least,
- 28:26Speaker 2: maybe trying to get the rest of the year, only
- 28:27Speaker 2: three months without buying shit, and you get an ema.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Hey guys, your birthday last month, do another twenty percent hour.
- 28:35Speaker 2: This is going to show that I'm an absolute cheap
- 28:37Speaker 2: skate or just an absolute scammer. But there's a like
- 28:42Speaker 2: a wine service that i'snded called Vno mofo. Good guys,
- 28:45Speaker 2: I've got a good range of all this stuff. And occasionally,
- 28:47Speaker 2: I mean, but I've got enough wine in the house.
- 28:49Speaker 2: Vno mofo, vno mofo or one word. But occasionally they
- 28:54Speaker 2: will have a thing called whiskey mofo. It's like, oh,
- 28:56Speaker 2: we're going to sell some nice bonsor whiskey, you know,
- 28:58Speaker 2: at at a slight discount and curated range and all that.
- 29:01Speaker 2: They only had it for one day, and then the
- 29:03Speaker 2: day after that they said, hey, you know what they
- 29:06Speaker 2: did that really you don't want to use it? Not that, no, no, no,
- 29:09Speaker 2: it was like, oh, you're a good customer, you know,
- 29:12Speaker 2: we want to show that you appreciate it. Tell you, yeah,
- 29:15Speaker 2: here's twenty bucks off your next purchase for twenty four
- 29:17Speaker 2: hours on. And I was like, this comes the day
- 29:22Speaker 2: after you've sold the stuff that I actually wanted to get. Yeh.
- 29:27Speaker 2: So I'm like when Karen on, I'm not Karen. I
- 29:30Speaker 2: went Darren on him, Uncle Darren fight off an email.
- 29:33Speaker 2: I said, hey, guys, look this is great. I really
- 29:35Speaker 2: appreciate you trying to give me a discount. Unfortunately, you know,
- 29:37Speaker 2: I was really into, you know, your whiskey thing, but
- 29:40Speaker 2: that just that's just gone. You wouldn't have any more
- 29:42Speaker 2: lying around the you know, the warehouse that I could
- 29:44Speaker 2: possibly use this discount thing on. You win. I win. Yes,
- 29:48Speaker 2: I am not a crack pipe. Give me free, give
- 29:51Speaker 2: me free stuff. They got back with it. Eh, No,
- 29:55Speaker 2: we're not doing that. But the next time we do
- 29:59Speaker 2: who is by the way to discuss my service? Who
- 30:02Speaker 2: is lose our email, lose our address? Yeah, next time
- 30:06Speaker 2: we're having on those, get in touch. We'll see what
- 30:07Speaker 2: we can do for it. So and I'll hold you
- 30:09Speaker 2: to that. I can't believe that I reached the I
- 30:13Speaker 2: want to save twenty dollars. I want my discount the
- 30:17Speaker 2: way I want it. But then Bartamy is like, the
- 30:23Speaker 2: people are not my friends. But this is like the
- 30:24Speaker 2: man that got discount on everything you wanted. What did
- 30:28Speaker 2: you do then, Guy? I went shopping anyway. So that's
- 30:33Speaker 2: another tale from Guy the cheap Skate. We should bring
- 30:38Speaker 2: back the my two cents segment right in mail Bag
- 30:45Speaker 2: of fourthing a discount dot com dot a. You've got
- 30:48Speaker 2: some bag questions to get through for the mailbag for
- 30:49Speaker 2: this month. We'll get to that in the later podcast.
- 30:51Speaker 2: But mail Bag at fourthing a discount dot com dot au,
- 30:54Speaker 2: send through your my two cents story and if it's
- 30:56Speaker 2: a good one, we'll put it on the show. We'll
- 30:58Speaker 2: put it on the show. We'll read it out yes day. Okay,
- 31:01Speaker 2: we haven't really gone that far into the They're watching cartoons,
- 31:05Speaker 2: back golf, turret dactyl pots, he'll never conquer pig toopsity.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Really, it's time to make you Transclonemorus deck stige.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Only my Saturday morning tourists can save me. Buy my cereal,
- 31:21Speaker 2: find the secret code inside and text me the message
- 31:24Speaker 2: start the day with Kellogg's, or I will die. Enough
- 31:27Speaker 2: from you. Hurry, guess no one's buying my cereal. Buy
- 31:34Speaker 2: or I'll die, And Marge says, you know, I'm sick
- 31:37Speaker 2: of you guys watching commercials shows that it's based around commercials.
- 31:39Speaker 2: Watch some golf instead of word just off. They put
- 31:42Speaker 2: golf on, they come back in they want to purchase
- 31:44Speaker 2: Calaway titanium perimeter weighted drivers. It really add yards to
- 31:47Speaker 2: his swing. Yeah, it made me realize. Oh yeah, everything's
- 31:49Speaker 2: just ads, isn't it. You watch the football now, the AFL,
- 31:53Speaker 2: so many ads for gambling now. Oh absolutely, it's insane.
- 31:56Speaker 2: I will never not laugh at the fact there is
- 31:59Speaker 2: a betting company called lad Brokes, which is basically designed
- 32:02Speaker 2: to send lads broke. Yeah, that's the joke. Did you
- 32:07Speaker 2: name yourself that? You might as well Coke called coke
- 32:13Speaker 2: tooth rot. All due respect to Coke, it's a fine beverage.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Just Maca's weight gain. I had some last night. Good,
- 32:23Speaker 2: not bad. Actually, yeah, you have just the traditional quarter pedal. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:28Speaker 2: but they were a little more forthcoming with the sauce.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Listeners to the show will know that I was trying
- 32:35Speaker 2: to be off macas for a while. I had a
- 32:36Speaker 2: bit of a hangover. I went to a school again
- 32:38Speaker 2: this weekend, and the hangovers linger along than they used to,
- 32:40Speaker 2: so I needed a bit of a greasy clean up.
- 32:43Speaker 2: But yeah, I got my quarter pane of cheese.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Like.
- 32:46Speaker 2: It wasn't a box all they wrap them up. They
- 32:48Speaker 2: were in a box. I hate the box. It's always
- 32:51Speaker 2: cold before you get home. This one was all right, okay, yeah, yeah,
- 32:54Speaker 2: I got I feel like cheeseburger is still tastes like
- 32:58Speaker 2: cheese beggers, so they still wrap them up. Heat stays
- 33:00Speaker 2: in the cheese must a little bit. Yeah, and so
- 33:01Speaker 2: a good quarter banda a good quarter pounder. Yeah, but
- 33:05Speaker 2: no more macis until next week. Again. They keep giving
- 33:10Speaker 2: me the bonus points. It's like, oh, I can get
- 33:12Speaker 2: a free apple bar with this. I might as we
- 33:13Speaker 2: gotta hold meal. I have a meal with my apple pipe.
- 33:20Speaker 2: Oh dear, yeah, speaking burgers, and well that's that's sort
- 33:23Speaker 2: of theme of this episode isn't it but only the
- 33:25Speaker 2: Saturday morning viewers can save hi blah blah blah, they'
- 33:27Speaker 2: watching the Gulf. March points out, I actually like this
- 33:29Speaker 2: and it's true right, And I never realized this until
- 33:31Speaker 2: I met Nikola. Hey, Lisa Black bananas, know what that
- 33:34Speaker 2: means bread? I was like, that's literally what happens in
- 33:37Speaker 2: our house. The kids are so excitedly we get the
- 33:39Speaker 2: bake banana bread a thing. How good is banana breads?
- 33:42Speaker 2: Are delicious? It's the it's the best way to get
- 33:44Speaker 2: fruit to kids too. Like it's like they like bananas,
- 33:49Speaker 2: but the idea is saying you have a banana Like
- 33:50Speaker 2: I don't want bananas, but I know you like getting it. Yeah,
- 33:52Speaker 2: it's free though, banana bread. Sign me the fuck up?
- 33:56Speaker 2: Oh wait, whatever bread with banana you put in front
- 33:58Speaker 2: of me even better than that. As occasionally you will
- 34:00Speaker 2: find a recipe for like a banana bread variant, you
- 34:02Speaker 2: know what a suck around vamiaria. Yes, And this was
- 34:05Speaker 2: like I saw a recipe for like apple cinnamon banana bread.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I'm like, wait, what you can do this? God will
- 34:12Speaker 2: not strike you down to the supermarket. You know what
- 34:18Speaker 2: I do I get Nicholas barda bread right, and I
- 34:20Speaker 2: have it with some light just low fat yogurt. I
- 34:24Speaker 2: get Nicholas b bread and I eat it. Wow. You
- 34:28Speaker 2: heat it up and then you put some like fat
- 34:29Speaker 2: for a yogurt on top. It's unbelievable, straw fat. You're
- 34:33Speaker 2: not really doing the Simpsons podcast anymore. Basically, we're doing
- 34:37Speaker 2: into to Martha Stewarts everyone else to cook the food
- 34:40Speaker 2: for us. We'll take Pat Hadi send us a whole
- 34:48Speaker 2: bunch of food. We'll eat it and how good. And
- 34:51Speaker 2: maybe we'll mention the Simpson's episode somewhere in there. But though,
- 34:55Speaker 2: so this is gonna make banana bed with March and
- 34:56Speaker 2: Bars being sent to Shelbyville with Homer to refill the
- 34:58Speaker 2: bean bags. I love the good beanbag when I was
- 35:01Speaker 2: a kid. It's no good when they pop, they get
- 35:04Speaker 2: a little bit of a skan and then you've just
- 35:06Speaker 2: got to spend the rest of your life just occasional balls. Yeah.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Finding beads, Yeah, the kids and I had these when
- 35:12Speaker 2: I was a kid as well. There's little foam couches.
- 35:14Speaker 2: They still got them there. Like Elliot's too big for
- 35:16Speaker 2: he he doesn't give it it's like it's his couch, wet.
- 35:19Speaker 2: We bought the new couch and we're not let the
- 35:20Speaker 2: kids eat on there anymore. Like there's no way you
- 35:22Speaker 2: are eating that ice cream on this six thousand dollars couch.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Not happening. Oh, when I've been over here, I've seen
- 35:27Speaker 2: Holly set up a little eating stations on the floor. Animal.
- 35:35Speaker 2: She was very happy there, and Daniel was very happy
- 35:38Speaker 2: for not to have to clean the coutch. Yes. So
- 35:39Speaker 2: on the way and they're discussing how Dean Martin used
- 35:42Speaker 2: to do first takes at the last minute, even though
- 35:43Speaker 2: Wikipedia says otherwise. Yeah, there is a lot of contention
- 35:48Speaker 2: about it. They're just pointing out that Wikipedia can be
- 35:49Speaker 2: changed by anybody. I think that's the joke. But there's
- 35:53Speaker 2: always been a lot of thought talking about Oh Dean Martin,
- 35:56Speaker 2: he was drunk half the time and wing it. So
- 35:57Speaker 2: I think Dina was actually, you know, kind of prepared,
- 36:00Speaker 2: was he, and actually not that much of a drinker. Okay,
- 36:03Speaker 2: I've heard the complete opposite. Yeah, there's just a stick. Okay,
- 36:05Speaker 2: So they honk it Martin, who's in the combine harvest.
- 36:08Speaker 2: Martin's got a lot of appearances. I feel like he's
- 36:09Speaker 2: a new side. H malt, But I'm all, I like Martin.
- 36:15Speaker 2: We all a gentle cress of the breeze on our legs,
- 36:18Speaker 2: don't we? Who does not? Yes, so he's part of
- 36:21Speaker 2: the four H Club. I actually have no idea what
- 36:23Speaker 2: the four H Club is. Yeah, that's I think they
- 36:26Speaker 2: start alluding to it that it's kind. I mean, I
- 36:27Speaker 2: think the ages sound like the hands heart something else. Yeah,
- 36:30Speaker 2: we could look it up. It's just some of us.
- 36:31Speaker 2: It's a club for kids. It's a it's a rural
- 36:34Speaker 2: club for kids, all similar to the Scouts, maybe I
- 36:37Speaker 2: think so. But yeah, it's certainly it's very farm related. Okay, yeah,
- 36:41Speaker 2: but that has most finger loss in any youth organization.
- 36:44Speaker 2: And Homer is sold on this because there is no
- 36:47Speaker 2: parent involvement required. So he sends. But there they arrive.
- 36:49Speaker 2: He's going through all the different ahes I.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Pledge my head to clear thinking, my heart, a greater loyalty,
- 36:56Speaker 4: my hair man, how many do this thing have? Yeah,
- 36:59Speaker 4: there is a let's skip the old and get you
- 37:02Speaker 4: behind the wheel or something you can't handle.
- 37:04Speaker 2: May I take a moment to explain because according to Wikipedia,
- 37:07Speaker 2: which it never gets altered Apparently, according to this episode,
- 37:11Speaker 2: the four h's stand for head, heart, hands, and health
- 37:15Speaker 2: and health. Okay, their mission is to engage youth to
- 37:18Speaker 2: reach their full potential while advancing the field of the
- 37:20Speaker 2: youth development. So okay, so it's not just rural. I
- 37:24Speaker 2: mean I thought it was. I think there's a big
- 37:26Speaker 2: rural component to it. But it's main organ main organ
- 37:31Speaker 2: is the National Institute of Food and Architecture and its
- 37:34Speaker 2: paran organization is the United States Department of Agriculture. There
- 37:38Speaker 2: we go, all right, Well, they put butt behind the
- 37:40Speaker 2: wheel of something that he can't handle. I like that, yes,
- 37:42Speaker 2: and I like these he's one other things. Everyone's over
- 37:44Speaker 2: the clothes line, the clothes coming out foldedficiently like a
- 37:47Speaker 2: little water. And then the manure is parts of the Caribbean. Three.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Then but parks his car, endorses the farm subsity check
- 37:54Speaker 2: for crops that he didn't grow, gets the thumbs up,
- 37:57Speaker 2: and then he starts they're feeding the animals, and then
- 37:59Speaker 2: the guy has a bucket of sandwiches for the kids. Yeah,
- 38:03Speaker 2: some good visual gag. Yes. Then they get their summer
- 38:05Speaker 2: project and then we're gonna look after a calf for
- 38:07Speaker 2: the summer. It seems like a lot of work. True, yeah,
- 38:11Speaker 2: but you know, but gets put with the runt, causing
- 38:13Speaker 2: you're a scrappy little misfit, just like me. Rolf's got
- 38:17Speaker 2: the wood, which pays off later. I'm not sure whether
- 38:19Speaker 2: you notice at the fair where they're doing the judging.
- 38:21Speaker 2: So Rof's got the wooden rocking horse thing or whatever
- 38:23Speaker 2: it is. Right, it's not a real cow. So now
- 38:25Speaker 2: Mary shows him how to feed the bottle. He calls
- 38:28Speaker 2: him Lulu Bell he thought was a girl because she
- 38:30Speaker 2: thought she thought she was peeing out of a nipple.
- 38:33Speaker 2: It's actually a boy. He is now named lou. Nicola
- 38:36Speaker 2: really liked this. So the next moment with the branding, right,
- 38:39Speaker 2: Nicholas like, oh, that was really sweet. So rather than
- 38:44Speaker 2: brand Lou on the cow, he brands on a piece
- 38:46Speaker 2: of wood and hangs around his neck like a proud
- 38:48Speaker 2: little name tag. Yeah. Also, I'm hearing the name louis
- 38:50Speaker 2: lot during this course, thinking of the lovely Laise. It
- 38:53Speaker 2: was the exact opposite of the cow. But is eating
- 38:56Speaker 2: the grass because he likes to taste the grass. Whatever.
- 38:59Speaker 2: The montage and more, getting along training like Rocky Punch
- 39:01Speaker 2: in the beef and things like that runs getting really strong.
- 39:03Speaker 2: He is getting strong. Mary puts a little blanket of
- 39:05Speaker 2: a Barkley sleeping with Lou just nicely, but have a
- 39:08Speaker 2: little connection here or something. And now Springfield candy. Fair warning.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Funhouse may have Christian message and it's the cop just
- 39:15Speaker 2: like this Funhouse episode may have a pro vegetarian message. Yeah,
- 39:19Speaker 2: I like this though, So it's the calf kind of
- 39:20Speaker 2: So Ralph's now got the wooden cow. It's got a
- 39:22Speaker 2: bucket on the head.
- 39:25Speaker 4: So what do you think of my calf?
- 39:28Speaker 1: Now, son, I'm not here to judge, all right, I am, Well,
- 39:34Speaker 1: I don't know much about cows, but I think we
- 39:38Speaker 1: have a winner.
- 39:43Speaker 2: Judge. Oh yeah, I am I'm not to judge. So
- 39:46Speaker 2: but Lou wins and then he thinks they're gonna be
- 39:48Speaker 2: friends forever, but unfortunate Lisa points out, you know what's
- 39:51Speaker 2: going to be happening next, right, and good question from Bahre.
- 39:55Speaker 2: Want you kill the loser cows? Well, this one gets
- 39:59Speaker 2: killed for yes, yes, and we will kill him. He
- 40:02Speaker 2: get to go first, but sad and yes, Marge and Homer,
- 40:05Speaker 2: can we buy him back? I was confused why Homer
- 40:07Speaker 2: was going no, is it just because Homer likes to
- 40:09Speaker 2: eat me. I don't know. Usually, I think he's probably
- 40:13Speaker 2: had enough wild animals and hair brain schemes involved animal
- 40:18Speaker 2: friends and such in his house. He's head stampy in
- 40:20Speaker 2: the backyard. Yeah that's true. Yeah, but is woe because
- 40:23Speaker 2: he's going to be turned into food and vest for
- 40:25Speaker 2: gay cowboys, as he points out. Then Homer points out
- 40:29Speaker 2: here the lesson here has never work hard or form
- 40:32Speaker 2: emotional attachments to anything, and also don't be a cow. Then,
- 40:36Speaker 2: but here's the mooing at night. And I thought this
- 40:39Speaker 2: is going to be the payerf. It was going to be
- 40:40Speaker 2: at least it was just like mooing in the bands.
- 40:42Speaker 2: But no, she's playing the yeah CEO, trust me now. Yeah,
- 40:47Speaker 2: And as we pointed out earlier, it's kind of a
- 40:49Speaker 2: shitty thing for Lisa to do. But I think that
- 40:51Speaker 2: was the whole point that sort of say sometimes they
- 40:53Speaker 2: try to push their beliefs, which isn't the right way
- 40:54Speaker 2: to go about it. But yeah, Tristanill gets shout out,
- 40:57Speaker 2: which is good, and she points out the doctor hippie fungusyums.
- 41:00Speaker 2: What were they like, I think like mushroom chips, Yeah,
- 41:02Speaker 2: something like that. They were replaceable for me. It's protein
- 41:04Speaker 2: from somewhere, that's right. Yeah. I was over at Lose
- 41:07Speaker 2: last night, not the not the cattle named in this episode,
- 41:10Speaker 2: and a friend of hers that was really recommending like
- 41:14Speaker 2: this snack treat from the health food ale. They were
- 41:16Speaker 2: like cauliflower puffs or something, and honestly, they look like
- 41:20Speaker 2: the packing peanuts you'd get when you, you know, when
- 41:22Speaker 2: you order something from one of your many favorite outlets.
- 41:25Speaker 2: And but they had chili lime flavor. I'm like, well,
- 41:29Speaker 2: that's two of my favorites. Giving them a try, and
- 41:32Speaker 2: it's like hello taste. No, No, that had the chili
- 41:35Speaker 2: lime taste, but it was like there's no underlying flavor.
- 41:39Speaker 2: It's like I really could be eating like Starophone peanuts
- 41:42Speaker 2: here that are edible, yeah, but with a chili lime
- 41:46Speaker 2: kind of dusting on. It's like it felt very futuristic,
- 41:51Speaker 2: like I was eating soil and green or something. It's like,
- 41:54Speaker 2: I gotta eat this, I gotta live on. It's chew
- 41:56Speaker 2: when the flavor runs out. Yeah, and I'm much chewing this,
- 41:58Speaker 2: Yeah I could. I could kind of enjoy it, but
- 42:01Speaker 2: there's still be like nothing really organic here. It's just
- 42:07Speaker 2: it's one. It's it's like prawn cocktail flavor things or whatever.
- 42:11Speaker 2: It's it's like these bites. But you know when you
- 42:12Speaker 2: get like the prawn crackers from the from the Chinese shot, right,
- 42:16Speaker 2: and they kind of that kind of texture and for
- 42:19Speaker 2: the first second or two there's taste and then it's
- 42:21Speaker 2: just I'm eating that, Like you said, styrofome out of
- 42:23Speaker 2: the box. It's like it's weird, Like I know this
- 42:25Speaker 2: is food, but is it food? I've got to put
- 42:27Speaker 2: a link to this, the coulieflower bites. No, No, there's
- 42:32Speaker 2: other things. It was like a cartoon and I think
- 42:34Speaker 2: it was in the New Yorker when they were talking
- 42:36Speaker 2: about dodgy advertising particularly comes to food. I think that
- 42:39Speaker 2: might have been taken the piece a bit. But some
- 42:41Speaker 2: look realistic. It's like this is not an actual flavor.
- 42:44Speaker 2: This is more like a feeling that you're talking about,
- 42:48Speaker 2: not a real word. It's like when you get looks
- 42:50Speaker 2: like karra milk. It's a current every chocolate, but it
- 42:55Speaker 2: sounds like caramel. It sounds kind of milky, and I
- 42:58Speaker 2: like those things with chocolate. Yeah, I like milk, chocolate,
- 43:01Speaker 2: caramel and milk. This could be a couple of great
- 43:04Speaker 2: taste that tastes great together, but not a real word.
- 43:09Speaker 2: But now that I watched mad Men with Nicola, I'll
- 43:11Speaker 2: say to her on the way home on tram I'm like,
- 43:12Speaker 2: everywhere I look now I'm seeing slogans. I'm like, my
- 43:15Speaker 2: whole life, I've been looking at slogans and not realizing
- 43:17Speaker 2: I'm looking at slogans. And I thought, what was one
- 43:20Speaker 2: that left out? There? Was? It was for Mery Wells
- 43:24Speaker 2: was dempletely rebrand. There used to be a Hamburger joint
- 43:26Speaker 2: in Melbourne, but now like a fancy fine dining restaurant.
- 43:30Speaker 2: It's bizarre. Is it a good burger? Yeah, they're not that.
- 43:32Speaker 2: They're gone, not there anymore, and now there's a Merry
- 43:35Speaker 2: Wells side it's near Holy Molly into the whole wall
- 43:37Speaker 2: sprawled like that. I think that the slogan was something
- 43:40Speaker 2: like the most perfect restaurant in the world or something.
- 43:43Speaker 2: I was like, that's ah, it was a ship slogan, right,
- 43:45Speaker 2: but it was like fine dining with like little fancy
- 43:47Speaker 2: patast and stuff, and I was like, that's not Mery
- 43:49Speaker 2: Wells anyway. I was like someone some genius walked into
- 43:55Speaker 2: an office one day and had a board and said, KFC,
- 43:59Speaker 2: I don't care hair, I love it. I love it
- 44:04Speaker 2: like if you had a pitch up to me, would
- 44:05Speaker 2: have gone, I don't know you hear a song genius.
- 44:10Speaker 2: A couple of months later, Elliot Dan, I was just
- 44:12Speaker 2: singing it non stop. Yeah, it's his catchphrase. Yeah, except
- 44:15Speaker 2: they always go why do they say bitch and ship
- 44:17Speaker 2: in that song? But imagine me the guy walking the
- 44:22Speaker 2: Maxisin and just went no words, do do do? Do do?
- 44:28Speaker 2: I'm loving it, I'm loving it. And I was like,
- 44:30Speaker 2: holy ship, I am loving that. Just my marketing brain
- 44:35Speaker 2: watching mam, and I'm like, I could do this, Like
- 44:38Speaker 2: I'm constantly thinking of ideas. I stayed up with my
- 44:43Speaker 2: friend JP on Friday night. Other you always called my
- 44:46Speaker 2: friend JP my friend JP. I'm very proud that he's
- 44:52Speaker 2: my friend. Yes, he's he's real marketing whiz, has his
- 44:56Speaker 2: own marketing for them. And one of those ads for
- 45:01Speaker 2: Telstra came on, you know the new ones that they've got,
- 45:03Speaker 2: like the stop motion animals. I don't watch too much TV. Okay,
- 45:06Speaker 2: these are on a lot during the Olympics and are like,
- 45:08Speaker 2: what the what's the meaning of this ship? I said
- 45:11Speaker 2: to Jape because we're watching the footy and one of
- 45:12Speaker 2: those ads came and I said, okay, you're marketing. What's
- 45:15Speaker 2: the meaning of this ship and he said, no, no,
- 45:17Speaker 2: very good. Uh you know it's good muscle flexing by
- 45:22Speaker 2: a brand that doesn't need to say where Intel where
- 45:25Speaker 2: a telecommunications brand. You know, we're just letting you know
- 45:28Speaker 2: that we're Telstra. You know, we don't have to say
- 45:30Speaker 2: get a new phone for this price, or you know,
- 45:32Speaker 2: use our you know, wonderful Telco plan or something. It's
- 45:34Speaker 2: just like, yeah, you know where Telstra we exist, just
- 45:37Speaker 2: need a little reminded that we are. It's yeah, I
- 45:40Speaker 2: suppose it's a nice bit of dick swinging on their part.
- 45:42Speaker 2: It's not gonna like it to get out of my house. Also,
- 45:48Speaker 2: one of my clients I came up with this shout
- 45:53Speaker 2: out to JP. I loved his hospitality on Friday night,
- 45:55Speaker 2: cooked me a good steak. Yeah yeah, tasty. Didn't neame it.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Lou I did not know. But he says he he's
- 46:01Speaker 2: not going to say something there, he's not going to
- 46:03Speaker 2: stop eating meat, and but he says he'll meet her halfway.
- 46:07Speaker 2: He'll stop stirring his drinks with sausages. They arrive at
- 46:10Speaker 2: where Abatoire and Costello a great name when they really
- 46:14Speaker 2: when they want to give good names like sorrying gags
- 46:16Speaker 2: and things like that as opposed to what was it
- 46:18Speaker 2: fast food? Ali fast food? Yeah that during any pluribus
- 46:23Speaker 2: when it was yeah when blows? The other reason they
- 46:25Speaker 2: disliked that episode? So and whose kid was it? Who
- 46:29Speaker 2: came up with my price? You came in the show,
- 46:30Speaker 2: shout to Michael Price. Yeah, not to his kid though,
- 46:34Speaker 2: Sorry Mike, of course we're kidding. Where cows go from
- 46:37Speaker 2: moo to you? And Barket said, I never figured the
- 46:40Speaker 2: game would be locked. It's like a new will coming
- 46:42Speaker 2: or something. At least it calls the active sin compost
- 46:45Speaker 2: and solo panel. She's winsng as he said, and then
- 46:47Speaker 2: they break in. The cows are all stacked up and lose.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Now really huge because he's being given another way of
- 46:52Speaker 2: just mentioning your food that you're eating is lace growth hormone?
- 46:56Speaker 2: It is, yeah, chock full of hormones. I don't say
- 46:58Speaker 2: it's bad, I say it's good that it's ignoreing. Yeah,
- 47:01Speaker 2: It's like we're not pushing pretty message here, but just
- 47:02Speaker 2: say you know, he's big because of growth hormones and
- 47:06Speaker 2: and that's stuff that you're putting into yourself. Yeah, it's
- 47:08Speaker 2: like microplastics. They're everywhere, so they're even in my precious testacles.
- 47:13Speaker 2: But learnt something at the four H club. You can
- 47:15Speaker 2: drive a forklift. Now listen, all sort of came all
- 47:17Speaker 2: everything that all linked. Yeah, and he uses the fok
- 47:20Speaker 2: to escape, and the this is just maybe we can
- 47:22Speaker 2: take it to Mary because she lives on a farm.
- 47:26Speaker 4: What are we going to do with him? Where are
- 47:28Speaker 4: your friend Mary from four H slifts out of farm?
- 47:30Speaker 4: Luca stay with her cow on a farm with the
- 47:34Speaker 4: move move here and a moon move there. Yes, it
- 47:37Speaker 4: works all right, lou to freedom.
- 47:40Speaker 2: But then he realized that he's no on the focus.
- 47:42Speaker 2: He's been stuck in the tree. But they get there.
- 47:43Speaker 2: It's at Claris's house and Clitis thinks that but is
- 47:47Speaker 2: proposing by offering the cow. I like how they also
- 47:50Speaker 2: acknowledge and a sort of a not necessarily stealthy fashion,
- 47:53Speaker 2: but they do acknowledge. Cows are kind of dumb animals.
- 47:56Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, they're they're living beings with feelings and
- 47:59Speaker 2: all that stuff. But it's smart enough to know that
- 48:01Speaker 2: their child's been taken from them. Yeah, that's right, but
- 48:03Speaker 2: fun with deal and both this episode like come on
- 48:06Speaker 2: your freetown. I think the joke here wasn't that he
- 48:09Speaker 2: didn't want you. I think he was stuck. He was
- 48:10Speaker 2: so big was he couldn't They couldn't. That's why fot
- 48:13Speaker 2: is to list him up and out because he couldn't.
- 48:15Speaker 2: They couldn't force me out because he was stuck. Well,
- 48:17Speaker 2: because the growth horment I should probably pay more attention to.
- 48:20Speaker 2: That might be this lesson that I take away from
- 48:22Speaker 2: this episode that we've got a call back to the hodown.
- 48:24Speaker 2: By the way, Oh that's true, it was exactly the same.
- 48:28Speaker 2: But yeah, but what I love so that of lusty song. Yes,
- 48:31Speaker 2: but agrees in order to make Lou happy because he's
- 48:33Speaker 2: going to be looked after on the farm, agrees to
- 48:36Speaker 2: marry Mary. And we mentioned a Dia Betty here and
- 48:39Speaker 2: things and whatever. Yeah, a whole bunch of he'll be
- 48:42Speaker 2: cliche what we called him Mary stabbed in jail, blah
- 48:44Speaker 2: bah blah. You've already mentioned that Homer margin homery. The
- 48:47Speaker 2: only thing to confuse me about this sock up a
- 48:48Speaker 2: bit was it it didn't mean anything. It was just
- 48:52Speaker 2: stuff happening. I liked that it was kind of elaborate,
- 48:54Speaker 2: but as opposed to just the normally here comes the
- 48:57Speaker 2: plane theyrectally put on this. Oh these are if you
- 49:00Speaker 2: have to go to to get your child to eat food,
- 49:02Speaker 2: that whole not cool to eat. Spit you can spit
- 49:04Speaker 2: itch the coolest. It's the coolest cool unless you and
- 49:13Speaker 2: when you actually get their breakthrough and the kid A
- 49:16Speaker 2: lot of the a lot of the hassle when you're
- 49:17Speaker 2: a parent trying to get kids to eat food. It's
- 49:20Speaker 2: just taste it. Oh yeah, like I don't like it.
- 49:22Speaker 2: You haven't tasted it yet, I don't like it. Just
- 49:25Speaker 2: taste it once you get to taste it, and you
- 49:27Speaker 2: see in their mind going, oh shit, I do like it.
- 49:30Speaker 2: I don't want to eat it. I mean I've got
- 49:32Speaker 2: to commit to the bit. I don't like it. You
- 49:34Speaker 2: do like it. I know I like it. I just
- 49:37Speaker 2: know what to eat it. Trying to think of another excuse,
- 49:39Speaker 2: but like, but but misall call him but Elliott right
- 49:43Speaker 2: in a little rascal? What does butt call himself? A
- 49:45Speaker 2: little rap scallon scaley and whatever? He wouldn't eat sushi,
- 49:49Speaker 2: just wouldn't touch would have look at sushi right because
- 49:51Speaker 2: he does six Yeah, I mean, I know sushi's for everybody,
- 49:55Speaker 2: but because smashes sushi loves it, right. But he was like,
- 49:58Speaker 2: I don't like the green stuff. That's and I was like,
- 50:00Speaker 2: that's the only reason you didn't like it. What is
- 50:03Speaker 2: all of that ship without the avocado. He's like, ok,
- 50:06Speaker 2: I didn't like the avocado. I can do that. Yes,
- 50:08Speaker 2: give him what. He's like, Okay, I thought it was
- 50:10Speaker 2: like I thought he didn't like what sabi. No, no, no, no,
- 50:12Speaker 2: it was avocado. So I'm like, so now we get
- 50:13Speaker 2: it with that avocado. He just eats it. I'm like,
- 50:15Speaker 2: that's the reason. Why did you just tell me this child?
- 50:19Speaker 2: And so he doesn't like avocado? He does eat it? Now, yeah,
- 50:23Speaker 2: make him some make him a nice batch of wak
- 50:25Speaker 2: We just made him eat Hollies, we said, because Holly
- 50:28Speaker 2: got a sushi and he wanted something else. You're still hungry.
- 50:32Speaker 2: But he won. Well, he loved it. And so basically
- 50:36Speaker 2: he tried Holy sushi with the avocado and he was like, oh, yeah,
- 50:40Speaker 2: I do like it. I like, yeah, I never tasted
- 50:42Speaker 2: it like you were constantly cracking safe. Oh it's literally
- 50:47Speaker 2: everything everything is just bargaining it's just parenthood. Man. Well
- 50:54Speaker 2: we'll talk about this when we talk about our upcoming
- 50:56Speaker 2: Tales of future. Yeah, but we say that. But yet
- 50:59Speaker 2: Nick and I went to Melbourne to get away from
- 51:00Speaker 2: the kids. But then and hour we missed them and
- 51:02Speaker 2: we're looking at photos of the kids. It's yeah, it
- 51:04Speaker 2: is what it is. It is what it is. But
- 51:06Speaker 2: so they've rescued the rescue. Lou Bart's agreed to marry
- 51:10Speaker 2: Mary as a result of because they thought he was proposing.
- 51:13Speaker 2: And they're doing the sopt puppets. Yes, Lisa comes in
- 51:16Speaker 2: and she she interrupts them. I just thought this didn't
- 51:18Speaker 2: go anywhere. It doesn't whatever, it doesn't make sense, but whatever,
- 51:20Speaker 2: And it ends with Marsha myth to go help. She
- 51:23Speaker 2: got an idea of how we can. I don't know
- 51:25Speaker 2: where the idea was going. I was like, she mentioned sewing.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Where is this going? What's happening here? Pays off later,
- 51:29Speaker 2: of course, but she says, we've got lots of sewing.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Go get your sewing, my sewing kit, please, Lisa. And
- 51:32Speaker 2: how he goes and punches flanners for no reason. Didn't
- 51:35Speaker 2: need it at all, an unwelcome return of Jackass home. Yeah,
- 51:39Speaker 2: that just keeps us little bits moments here. Do you
- 51:41Speaker 2: think there are some writers in the Simpsons writers room
- 51:46Speaker 2: at any given stage who have carriages that they just
- 51:48Speaker 2: dislike and want to serve up something to them. I mean,
- 51:52Speaker 2: look at the very start of this episode with the
- 51:53Speaker 2: Bao tapestry thing with Flanners all cut up yet to
- 51:56Speaker 2: punch on the face in this episode is like, have
- 51:58Speaker 2: you got have you got something against Flanners? I won
- 52:00Speaker 2: if that happens in not just a Simpsons writer's room,
- 52:02Speaker 2: but any writer's Room's like, yeah, good characters just so
- 52:06Speaker 2: like and if I could find some way to just
- 52:07Speaker 2: stick it into him, I'll do that. Is that one
- 52:09Speaker 2: guy really hates Cal and everyone's like, oh, ship, how
- 52:14Speaker 2: about we do an episode? Will we kill him? What
- 52:19Speaker 2: about the dank? That's one of my favorites, say the
- 52:23Speaker 2: dank by the dank. But so homes punched Flanners here.
- 52:28Speaker 2: Now it's time for the wedding and we've got wouldn't
- 52:30Speaker 2: be a Simpsons season nine episode without a gay, flamboyant
- 52:33Speaker 2: voice fire Hackazaria. And it's the wedding Planner, not that
- 52:37Speaker 2: flamboy I mean, it's not as bad as it's very
- 52:40Speaker 2: on the nose. Was it Lindsay Nail's ex husband, that guy. Yeah, yeah, man,
- 52:45Speaker 2: that's that's that's crank and the dar Yes, yes, this
- 52:48Speaker 2: is what this is, like a seven. He had the
- 52:51Speaker 2: Zaria lisp though a little yeah, I mean yeah, I
- 52:55Speaker 2: didn't think it was as egregious as others. No, no, no,
- 52:57Speaker 2: not as bad. But Mary is given the various giftsparently,
- 53:00Speaker 2: spider peck was one of the gifts that she's given.
- 53:01Speaker 2: I saw that, Yeah, yeah, but she's given in the
- 53:04Speaker 2: one moment I was paying attention, So that's my pick. Yeah,
- 53:06Speaker 2: Mary says that I'm not too sure about this. You know,
- 53:08Speaker 2: you just got cold feet because you have bare foot
- 53:09Speaker 2: and Madam Lisa's running late, and but it's like, well,
- 53:13Speaker 2: if I say no, then lous gonna dining up to
- 53:15Speaker 2: keep going through with it, just a quick wine back.
- 53:18Speaker 2: It's not necessarily a funny gig, but I thought it
- 53:21Speaker 2: was okay, you know, with the whole something borrowed, something blue,
- 53:24Speaker 2: and it's like something something something stew. Well, you know,
- 53:27Speaker 2: I like it's something stew It's the kind of gag
- 53:31Speaker 2: that just feels like a real throwaway. But it's like
- 53:33Speaker 2: I kind of liked that for some reason, you do
- 53:36Speaker 2: love ste I do love ste and I love something,
- 53:42Speaker 2: but I thought not anything, but something, And maybe I
- 53:45Speaker 2: just realized we've got this pretty much same storyline with
- 53:48Speaker 2: Bart getting married. Remember when he thought he knocked that girl?
- 53:50Speaker 2: That's right. Yeah, I'm pretty sure with the exact same joke.
- 53:52Speaker 2: Wer was like kiss. I thought it was getting marrried.
- 53:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:54Speaker 2: I think it was something in the lines of how
- 53:58Speaker 2: a kid's made, like if we kiss, will have a killing.
- 54:00Speaker 2: I don't know. Anyway, it felt like a similar gag.
- 54:02Speaker 2: Margin drops the wedding and Lou is unfortunately going to
- 54:05Speaker 2: be sent to defeed lot because the wedding's not going
- 54:07Speaker 2: through and she's now going to be a what is
- 54:09Speaker 2: she a mate?
- 54:10Speaker 1: No?
- 54:11Speaker 2: No, what is Mary now at the age of eleven?
- 54:13Speaker 1: Oh?
- 54:14Speaker 2: Old mate, old made or whatever. Basically, she's a door spinster. Yes, yes, Marge.
- 54:19Speaker 2: Bart's like disappointed, and Marge's got a trick up a
- 54:21Speaker 2: sleep and I was like, this is nice. The found
- 54:23Speaker 2: had a little planned together and the trick is that
- 54:25Speaker 2: Homer is actually dressed up in costume as Lou on
- 54:27Speaker 2: the back of the truck and when he gets to
- 54:29Speaker 2: the slaughter house, that'll be the qu to come pick
- 54:31Speaker 2: him up. He thinks that says laugh the house. Marge like,
- 54:34Speaker 2: that's okay, I'll just turn my phone off non charge.
- 54:37Speaker 2: It was nice that they gave Marge like a Homer moment. Yeah,
- 54:41Speaker 2: and at least that feels like the kind of thing
- 54:42Speaker 2: at home will do. Was like, I don't want to
- 54:44Speaker 2: be disturbed by this boon and at least acknowledged because
- 54:48Speaker 2: there could have been an easy plot whole word gone,
- 54:49Speaker 2: Why don't have it? Just call Marge back straight away.
- 54:51Speaker 2: Now I've turned my phone off because I'm okay. It's
- 54:53Speaker 2: a laughing house. It all makes sense, right, and it's silly,
- 54:55Speaker 2: but it makes sense. Appoo's at the airport where his
- 54:58Speaker 2: plan he's going to take Lou back to Indiaways, we
- 55:00Speaker 2: treated with the same respect that humans get treated with
- 55:02Speaker 2: in America. Yeah I knew when. Yeah, I mean, of
- 55:05Speaker 2: course up in India had to sort of play a role.
- 55:07Speaker 2: If you're going to save a cow from anything. What's
- 55:08Speaker 2: the one culture in the world that really revers came Indian? Yep,
- 55:12Speaker 2: So it's much I don't forget story because we have
- 55:17Speaker 2: Indian restaurants here in Australia and they serve beef, right,
- 55:19Speaker 2: It's just normal for us. Going to England, I was like,
- 55:21Speaker 2: can I beef this? And I'm like, beef, that's wrong
- 55:24Speaker 2: with you? And I was like, give me like from
- 55:25Speaker 2: a cow and I was like, oh yeah, do you
- 55:30Speaker 2: have any butter chicken? If you're a fan of everything
- 55:35Speaker 2: we do here at four Finger Discamp, but you're kind

- 56:06Speaker 4: you'll regret it. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but
- 56:10Speaker 4: soon and definitely after they kill you and make you
- 56:13Speaker 4: into sloppy. Joe's is looking at you.
- 56:26Speaker 2: Could margin turns her phone back on. Go over four
- 56:29Speaker 2: hundred text messages ready for picking up Homer ends up
- 56:32Speaker 2: in the killing floor, and yeah, it's just a brutal
- 56:37Speaker 2: acknowledgment of this is what happens to cows. Yes, indeed,
- 56:39Speaker 2: I mean apparently there are documentaries and documentary footage of
- 56:42Speaker 2: what it's like on the killing floor and you will
- 56:44Speaker 2: just ead legible for the rest of your days. Yeah,
- 56:47Speaker 2: so I do not watch this. I've got two friends
- 56:49Speaker 2: who still work at the avatoire, you know, the place
- 56:52Speaker 2: that stinks when you're driving down to our airport. Yeah,
- 56:54Speaker 2: I know how he does it. I just don't know
- 56:56Speaker 2: how he's done it since he was like nineteen, it's
- 56:58Speaker 2: like fifteen years now, twenty years. Not for me, Yeah,
- 57:01Speaker 2: I think it requires a good a good bit of
- 57:03Speaker 2: compartmentalization on Yes, it does, indeed, But you know that
- 57:06Speaker 2: sounds electroustic. Now that's the second march. It's the emergency
- 57:10Speaker 2: stop just before. But home was about to be chopped up,
- 57:12Speaker 2: and he saw things here that he never wants to
- 57:14Speaker 2: see again. He'll never eat beef ever again, You'll or
- 57:17Speaker 2: the other animals. At least he's gonna be at least
- 57:18Speaker 2: he's acknowledging that I can see where least is coming from.
- 57:21Speaker 2: Now The episode ends with but laying in bed, He's
- 57:25Speaker 2: going to photo of Loo next to him and he says,
- 57:27Speaker 2: for once in my life, I'm proud that I did
- 57:28Speaker 2: have a cow man. It was a nice it was
- 57:31Speaker 2: nice ending. It's just a nice story. It was. It
- 57:34Speaker 2: was just they they handled the story that south, but
- 57:37Speaker 2: tried to do in a much better way, in a
- 57:40Speaker 2: much better fashion. Yeah right, Yeah, Look, there there were
- 57:42Speaker 2: certainly some aspects that you know, wedged in a little
- 57:45Speaker 2: awkwardly or didn't sit quite right, But for the most
- 57:48Speaker 2: part went from A to B to C very very well. Indeed,
- 57:50Speaker 2: it wasn't a B plot, was there. It was just
- 57:52Speaker 2: this was I'm just talking about you know, I'm just
- 57:54Speaker 2: thinking now, Yeah, because sometimes they have like a homerwacky
- 57:56Speaker 2: bee plot or whatever it was. We're all on the
- 57:58Speaker 2: same page, all on the same letter. What do we learn, Bomber? So,
- 58:02Speaker 2: what did you learn from the episode, mister Davis? Well,
- 58:05Speaker 2: how the activists are vital to you know, our collective morality,
- 58:11Speaker 2: to highlighting important issues, making sure that the world sort
- 58:16Speaker 2: of maintains its moral access. But they're also really fucking annoying,
- 58:19Speaker 2: all of them, some of them. Okay, that's true, but
- 58:22Speaker 2: you know only a sith dealers and absolutes. Apparently you
- 58:25Speaker 2: know what I learned. Tell me I learned that. No.
- 58:27Speaker 2: I do like some activists, some not, but no I
- 58:29Speaker 2: like more than those activists. Zoe Deel, especially when she's
- 58:34Speaker 2: playing Mary. That thought she did a good job. She
- 58:38Speaker 2: did a very good job. Yeah. Always always understands the assignment.
- 58:44Speaker 2: From day forward, your name will be all right. It
- 58:47Speaker 2: is the Guy Davis New Name Championship for season nineteen.
- 58:50Speaker 2: Current lead. The board stands at this all the way
- 58:53Speaker 2: ahead in first position on twenty two points, it is
- 58:56Speaker 2: Jared Hornby. In second position we have Adam Willhowse on
- 59:00Speaker 2: fourteen points, and in third position we have Phil Hawkins
- 59:03Speaker 2: on thirteen points. Take it away, my good sir. Okay,
- 59:06Speaker 2: then one point for the Grays escape. He's getting even
- 59:11Speaker 2: further away. Its shared Hornby now in twenty three points,
- 59:14Speaker 2: only a one point. Though your aim is not true,
- 59:17Speaker 2: I don't think it really matters at this point. You're
- 59:19Speaker 2: still doing pretty well, Dared. It's a point every week.
- 59:21Speaker 2: He ain't losing this thing, that's true. Two points goes
- 59:26Speaker 2: to the farmer of the bride. That's another good title.
- 59:30Speaker 2: I'll play it that is Oh, it's our man, Phil
- 59:32Speaker 2: Hawkins with the two. He's now in second position for
- 59:35Speaker 2: now on fifteen points. Why don't, sir, should we? If
- 59:40Speaker 2: Phil Hawkins gets a certain amount of points to be
- 59:43Speaker 2: determined by us by the end of the season, we
- 59:46Speaker 2: give him as jayback. If it's certain aount of points.
- 59:49Speaker 2: All right, So what are we on now? It's episode seventeen.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Is twenty in this season? Correct? Yes, so there's three more,
- 59:54Speaker 2: so there's potential nine. He's currently on fifteen. If you
- 59:57Speaker 2: can end the season on twenty, Yes, twenty points by
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: twenty episodes, Phil, you get your jay back? Yeah, Philip
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: g Hawk. There'll be a ceremony and everything. Okay, But
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: three points goes to look at the camera again. You're
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: looking for the camera again. This is the cameras that
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: on You've trained me. I'm used to it and become
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: a more of a show off. And now you come
- 1:00:21Speaker 2: up in the middle of three points. That's what everyone's
- 1:00:22Speaker 2: student there for? Are they? Are they really? I think
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: they're tolerating? Can you challenge at this point everyone except
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: Jared horn Be. Three points goes to engaging Bull. You
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: have never seen Beraging Bull? Good movie? Yeah, not exactly
- 1:00:37Speaker 2: feel good, but boxing right, yeah, yeah, and I've never
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: seen it, but engaging ball is a good title. And
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: that sounds like you went mmm, by the way like
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: a cow. Yeah, can you do a good cow? Move that?
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: It's very good voice actor in the making. Yeah, move over,
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Jim comings new cow and tea, he's right here. Move
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: that would That's it was pretty clever that title, wasn't it.
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: That was very good? Yeah? Pretty clever? Yeah? I wonder
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: who with both eyes here you blinking in trouble having
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: a stroke. Who think gives this clever title? Who's Tillien Riquez?
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: It's clever Carle Muoon the heavy hitters a coming back.
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: But he's now in outright fourth position on nine points.
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: So we've got Jared Hornby in first, Adam Moorehouse he's
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: in third. Sorry now, so we've got Phil Hawkins in
- 1:01:33Speaker 2: second position on fifteen, Adam Wirehouse third on fourteen, and
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: Clever con now outright fourth on nine. Right. Yes, so
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: technically if so, if he's eight points behind, if Jared
- 1:01:46Speaker 2: Hormy doesn't get any more points and Phil Hawkins gets
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: three three three, what a comeback that would be? This
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: is an over It can actually this is not over people. Wow,
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: after the last couple of weeks saying there's a chance,
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: the last few weeks, we've been thinking that it's a
- 1:02:02Speaker 2: full conclusion. It's Jared. His name is Jared. He's been
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: in the New Name Championship. What were we talking about.
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: We've done that before. No, not on this, not for
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: this one. But we made a joke on one of
- 1:02:14Speaker 2: our recent podcasts. We did. Indeed, we cracked ourselves up.
- 1:02:18Speaker 2: It was the end of Futurama. It was somebody walked
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: in something. No, No, his name is Adam. He threw
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: the Javiden. Oh you're sick, pal Adam. That was Futurama,
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: wasn't it? It was? I believe, why are we talking
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: about throwing javelins through testicles? You just said he had
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: a great story, and then you're polling up with a
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: great story. How many times have I said this is
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: a brigle story? And then you look at why are
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: you talking about your reunion? That's right?
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: And then the teacher there didn't know in life, and
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: I was like, I'll got a story about a teacher
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: you should throw a javelin through, isn't it. I'm pretty
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: sure that was on our Futurama review. If it's not,
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: then you probably say shut up down it. If it is,
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: the anybody to hear it is by being supported of
