In 2026, Ironwood Pig Sanctuary—founded in 2001 by Mary Schanz and Ben Watkins—will celebrate 25 years of rescuing, rehabilitating, and providing lifelong homes for nearly 1,100 pot-bellied pigs, many abandoned or abused due to HOA restrictions.
