- 0:02Speaker 1: This is college football with Stugatz and the Bear.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Now it's going time.
- 0:07Speaker 3: T-Bob is with us. Wake up, Barstool.
- 0:09Speaker 4: And then at the time of greatest triumph, I want
- 0:12Speaker 4: to suck from the cup of their tears.
- 0:14Speaker 2: I want to watch their women.
- 0:16Speaker 4: And children writhing on the ground. Everything that is precious
- 0:20Speaker 4: to Ole Miss, everything they pray for when they lay
- 0:22Speaker 4: their head down at night and they talk to their creator,
- 0:25Speaker 4: you want to take all of that and you want
- 0:27Speaker 4: to melt it in front of their faces and pour
- 0:29Speaker 4: it back down their throat and execute them.
- 0:32Speaker 3: I mean, who cares?
- 0:33Speaker 2: What, are you kidding me?
- 0:35Speaker 3: If I heard somebody utter those words, I would throw.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Them out the second story of the football lot. I
- 0:41Speaker 2: love you boys.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Episode number two of College Football with Stugatz and Bear.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I am tempted to start this show by reading all
- 0:50Speaker 1: the text messages that Bear sent over the weekend in
- 0:53Speaker 1: our group text. I maintain, T-Bob, that nobody, nobody on
- 0:57Speaker 1: this Zoom loves anything more in their lives, and my
- 1:00Speaker 1: daughter is on this Zoom, than Bear loves college football.
- 1:04Speaker 1: I mean, he is a college football dork of the
- 1:08Speaker 1: highest order.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I mean, it was great.
- 1:11Speaker 3: I felt bad. I felt like, you know, we're kind
- 1:12Speaker 3: of competing for that.
- 1:13Speaker 4: And I got, I just got, I, he treated me
- 1:17Speaker 4: like college Simmons treated phase on Brandon, basically like bear
- 1:21Speaker 4: this weekend with that showing on Saturday, threw me to
- 1:24Speaker 4: the ground, whipped it out. It just pissed all over me.
- 1:27Speaker 4: An unreal showing for bear. Absolutely locked in on a
- 1:31Speaker 4: big rank Saturday.
- 1:33Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:33Speaker 3: Dan landing.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Then I'm calling third leg Colin for nothing.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Dan Lanning, the Oregon coach, is going to join us
- 1:40Speaker 1: here in about 15 to 20 minutes. It was a
- 1:42Speaker 1: great weekend of football, a great Saturday of college football.
- 1:46Speaker 3: T-Bob, where do you want to start today?
- 1:48Speaker 4: Okay, so I want to start with Colin Simmons because
- 1:51Speaker 4: what we witnessed on Saturday in Knoxville is one of
- 1:55Speaker 4: the single greatest defensive performances that I have ever seen
- 1:59Speaker 4: out of an individual.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Full stop. He was awesome.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Texas goes into tennessee insane environment they emerge with a
- 2:07Speaker 4: win bear i want to ask you this full sports
- 2:10Speaker 4: talky here do you emerge out of this feeling better
- 2:14Speaker 4: or worse about the texas longhorns.
- 2:18Speaker 2: I hate saying worse because sometimes you're gonna win ugly
- 2:22Speaker 2: and winning ugly tells you a hell of a lot
- 2:24Speaker 2: more about a team than blowouts when you when you
- 2:26Speaker 2: face adversity and you're on the road a game that
- 2:30Speaker 2: you probably should have put away a long time prior
- 2:32Speaker 2: to that. And you still come out ahead. That's a
- 2:34Speaker 2: big thing, but I don't know their offense for all
- 2:37Speaker 2: like cam Coleman. Mike was still waiting for him to
- 2:41Speaker 2: emerge into the guy that we all think he is.
- 2:43Speaker 2: Arch is still inconsistent. The running game is, is hit
- 2:47Speaker 2: and miss at best. If you look efficiency wise at
- 2:49Speaker 2: where their, their offense is right now, it's very reminiscent
- 2:52Speaker 2: of what Oklahoma kind of looked like last year in
- 2:55Speaker 2: the sec, great defense, but an offense that wasn't clicking.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Now look, Give him credit.
- 3:00Speaker 2: You look at the schedule. There are two games that
- 3:02Speaker 2: they already have at the bank where they very easily
- 3:05Speaker 2: could have been projected to lose, and they've won them,
- 3:08Speaker 2: so they're there. But you look at the odds moving forward.
- 3:11Speaker 2: You look at the power ratings. If I asked you,
- 3:15Speaker 2: and Stu Goss, who probably still doesn't even remember, who
- 3:19Speaker 2: Florida's offensive coordinator is. Who is the best team in
- 3:22Speaker 2: the SEC and who should win the SEC? I think
- 3:25Speaker 2: most people are going to see Georgia, right?
- 3:27Speaker 3: Stu, prove him wrong. Prove him wrong, Stu. Who's the
- 3:29Speaker 3: OC for Florida? Well, I blurted out Philo. Is that right?
- 3:33Speaker 2: Quarterback.
- 3:35Speaker 4: The quarterback. You're adjacent there. I emerge the complete opposite.
- 3:44Speaker 4: I'm falling in love with Texas. I think if you
- 3:48Speaker 4: want to be a championship team, you have to be
- 3:51Speaker 4: able to win in multiple ways.
- 3:53Speaker 3: So I actually, I love two things.
- 3:54Speaker 4: I love the fact that Arch didn't have to be
- 3:56Speaker 4: Superman here because he had that moment. He had the
- 3:58Speaker 4: fourth quarter against Ohio State to beat the number one
- 4:00Speaker 4: team in the country. I love the fact that now Texas,
- 4:03Speaker 4: they're four and one in their last five games against
- 4:05Speaker 4: top ten teams. But as we pointed out, this was
- 4:08Speaker 4: where they struggled last year, going on the road in
- 4:11Speaker 4: conference against what I believe is a very good Tennessee
- 4:14Speaker 4: volunteer team. Craziest environment they'll find. They find a way
- 4:18Speaker 4: to win. I am loving what I saw to Texas. Stu,
- 4:21Speaker 4: you've been doing this for a long time.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Yes.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Decades.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Yes.
- 4:24Speaker 2: You're the OG. Yes.
- 4:27Speaker 3: Do you think.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Colin Simmons' celebration, was that anatomically correct? Have you ever
- 4:33Speaker 4: seen anything like that?
- 4:35Speaker 3: I haven't.
- 4:35Speaker 1: We were talking about John Randall in the NFL on
- 4:38Speaker 1: all fours peeing after he would sack a quarterback. But, no,
- 4:42Speaker 1: I haven't seen anything like that. They pulled him aside.
- 4:44Speaker 1: They took him out of the game. He didn't do
- 4:46Speaker 1: it afterwards. Man, that would have been great if he
- 4:49Speaker 1: did it again, but he didn't do it. I'm just
- 4:52Speaker 1: confused as to how you walk away from that game.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Anything but impressed with Texas. The point of college football
- 4:58Speaker 1: these days is to make it to the playoff, and
- 5:00Speaker 1: the way you make it to the playoff is by
- 5:02Speaker 1: not stacking up three or four losses, and Texas so
- 5:06Speaker 1: far is undefeated.
- 5:07Speaker 3: I don't care how you win the game. I don't
- 5:09Speaker 3: care what the score is.
- 5:10Speaker 1: I don't care if we don't know whether or not
- 5:12Speaker 1: Arch Manning is a good quarterback or not. I just
- 5:14Speaker 1: know Texas is 4-0 and undefeated, and they're on their
- 5:17Speaker 1: way to a playoff.
- 5:18Speaker 3: That's it. You have to be impressed with that victory.
- 5:20Speaker 2: And they're on their way to 5-0 after the idle
- 5:23Speaker 2: week they have. oklahoma who's got their own problems come
- 5:26Speaker 2: but put it on the poll mikey better p celebration
- 5:29Speaker 2: elijah moore or colin simmons.
- 5:31Speaker 3: That's right elijah moore as well.
- 5:33Speaker 4: I think we can i think we can safely assume
- 5:36Speaker 4: from the celebration colin simmons not jewish i want to
- 5:41Speaker 4: talk about.
- 5:41Speaker 3: A guy though what do you mean by that i really.
- 5:45Speaker 4: Last note in this game I kind of liked what
- 5:48Speaker 4: I saw to face on Brandon. There's nothing to write
- 5:50Speaker 4: home about statistically.
- 5:51Speaker 2: Okay.
- 5:52Speaker 4: That's the freshman quarterback from Tennessee, but you want to
- 5:55Speaker 4: talk about being that age going against the man that
- 5:58Speaker 4: is Colin Simmons at that defense, getting your ass kicked
- 6:01Speaker 4: all day, getting hurt, coming back in the game, surviving,
- 6:04Speaker 4: and then putting a ball into the end zone with
- 6:07Speaker 4: a chance to win. Like there's a lot to clean up,
- 6:10Speaker 4: but if I'm a Tennessee fan, I'm feeling pretty good
- 6:12Speaker 4: about the future with, with Brandon under center there. All right.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Let's keep it moving. The next guys. I tried to
- 6:19Speaker 3: tell you.
- 6:20Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Are you ready for Kirk Ferentz in the playoffs?
- 6:24Speaker 2: There?
- 6:24Speaker 3: I know you were upset, but.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Here it is.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Iowa gets it done.
- 6:28Speaker 4: Brown is facing down the big house at 91 yards.
- 6:33Speaker 3: Iowa finds a way to get the win.
- 6:35Speaker 2: 7% postgame win expectancy.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Good job. Yeah. I directed a lot of my angst
- 6:40Speaker 2: on the group thread this weekend towards Kyle Whittingham. And
- 6:43Speaker 2: I think I am correct. Like, Did Iowa have like
- 6:46Speaker 2: 80 frigging yards offense? It's 10-7 in the third quarter.
- 6:51Speaker 2: You got fourth and goal at the four. Anytime you
- 6:55Speaker 2: can kick the field goal and make a one-possession game,
- 6:57Speaker 2: a one-possession game, you got to do it. Go for it.
- 7:01Speaker 2: At worst, you're given an offense that can't move the
- 7:03Speaker 2: ball against air so far. The ball at the four-yard line,
- 7:07Speaker 2: and you're still up 10-7 at worst. At best, you
- 7:11Speaker 2: score a touchdown. You're up 17-7. And the game is
- 7:15Speaker 2: over at that point. Like that was a, that was
- 7:18Speaker 2: caveman football at its finest. I sent out some mathematical
- 7:22Speaker 2: stuff earlier, some analytical stuff for some people that like
- 7:26Speaker 2: that kind of shit. But like the, if you go
- 7:28Speaker 2: for it on fourth and fourth down from the four
- 7:30Speaker 2: yard line and in like since 2021, it's like an 85%
- 7:34Speaker 2: win percentage, regardless of whether you get it or not.
- 7:37Speaker 2: And for those that kick the field goal, It's like
- 7:40Speaker 2: a 71% win percentage, whether you get it or if
- 7:43Speaker 2: you kick the field goal and you make it or
- 7:44Speaker 2: miss it, which you made it every time. But yeah, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad, bad,
- 7:49Speaker 2: bad job by Kyle Weddingham in Michigan. What that was, yes,
- 7:54Speaker 2: that was a lot of bads.
- 7:55Speaker 1: That means he feels like Kyle Whittingham should be on
- 7:57Speaker 1: the hot seat. That was karma for Western Michigan. That's
- 8:00Speaker 1: what that game was. What comes around goes around. I mean,
- 8:03Speaker 1: that is a conference. Act like you've been there before.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I mean, for him to cry like he just won
- 8:08Speaker 1: a national championship walking off the field in Michigan.
- 8:12Speaker 3: What do you mean give him a break? I don't
- 8:13Speaker 3: want to give him a break. Congratulations. You're 4-0.
- 8:15Speaker 4: I mean.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Can't believe we won that way again by just punting
- 8:20Speaker 2: and kicking and other teams giving us the... It's so wonderful.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Phil Parker is a genius.
- 8:27Speaker 3: That's the exact reason why... Oh, sorry, Taylor. Real quick, though.
- 8:31Speaker 4: That's the exact reason why he kicked the field goal, though,
- 8:34Speaker 4: is you say caveman football, you're going against the caveman.
- 8:39Speaker 4: In no world did anyone think that Iowa was going
- 8:42Speaker 4: 91 yards in.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Less than two minutes. And the thing is... They did
- 8:46Speaker 3: it really. They sucked that whole tribe. Yes.
- 8:49Speaker 4: With 11 seconds left, they're still sitting at the 50.
- 8:53Speaker 4: They've been dumping it, getting tackled in bounds, and then
- 8:56Speaker 4: they just think Hank Brown finds a way, tip balls.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Everything else.
- 9:00Speaker 3: That's what those tears were for, T-Bob.
- 9:02Speaker 2: Kirk Ferentz couldn't believe his eyes that he saw his
- 9:04Speaker 2: team drive 91 yards downfield.
- 9:06Speaker 3: That was the first time in decades, it feels like.
- 9:08Speaker 1: So he was emotional because his team finally did something
- 9:10Speaker 1: he had no idea, never imagined.
- 9:12Speaker 3: He didn't know they were capable of it.
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yes.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Yes. See, I kind of emerged on the other side
- 9:17Speaker 4: where I think he was just overall mostly the moment.
- 9:19Speaker 4: He's going to get in the film room, and he's
- 9:21Speaker 4: going to be a little upset because that's too much throwing.
- 9:25Speaker 3: If you're Iowa, you cannot attack downfield like that. It's
- 9:29Speaker 3: too risky.
- 9:31Speaker 4: Potential for interception was huge. He's going to make sure
- 9:34Speaker 4: they get that right going forward. But again, guys, Ohio
- 9:37Speaker 4: State this weekend, Bear. But fair to say, after that,
- 9:41Speaker 4: Iowa will be favored immediately.
- 9:43Speaker 3: In every single game until the end of the year?
- 9:45Speaker 2: You'd assume so, but it's going to be close enough
- 9:48Speaker 2: where the variance is still going to be pretty high
- 9:52Speaker 2: for a team that is really offensively challenged. I want
- 9:55Speaker 2: to talk about Michigan, though. There's a really good chance
- 9:58Speaker 2: that this team's going to be sitting at three and four.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I mean, they're favorite at Minnesota, but it's clear they
- 10:04Speaker 2: don't trust their quarterback. So they could lose to anybody.
- 10:07Speaker 2: So you go on the road, you lose in Minnesota
- 10:10Speaker 2: this week. You got Penn State and Indiana coming up
- 10:13Speaker 2: after that. You could very easily be sitting three, four,
- 10:16Speaker 2: and dare I say, Might it be over at Michigan
- 10:19Speaker 2: for Kyle Whittingham, and he doesn't even know it yet?
- 10:22Speaker 1: He's got it out for Whittingham.
- 10:24Speaker 3: He really does.
- 10:25Speaker 1: By the way, were you guys shocked? Iowa's quarterback, his
- 10:28Speaker 1: name is Hank Brown. Were you shocked that we're still
- 10:30Speaker 1: making Hanks?
- 10:34Speaker 2: Henry.
- 10:36Speaker 3: I mean, the last Hank I spoke to was Hank Goldberg.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Yeah, that was probably a few years ago, unless you
- 10:42Speaker 2: got some karmic sense within you. If you do, let
- 10:47Speaker 2: me know. I need a winner for the Breeders' Cup.
- 10:48Speaker 4: That's an Iowa-ass quarterback name, though. Monosyllabic Hank Brown. That's
- 10:54Speaker 4: just fundamental All-American.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Football right there. They should just call him Hank. Is
- 11:02Speaker 3: it fair to say, Bear, was this Bryce Underwood's best
- 11:04Speaker 3: ever game?
- 11:05Speaker 2: It probably was. And a loss. I mean, yeah, they
- 11:08Speaker 2: did have a bad pick early in the game, but
- 11:11Speaker 2: in terms of his numbers, it was pretty good. And
- 11:14Speaker 2: they still didn't win. Amazing.
- 11:16Speaker 4: Yeah, Michigan, again, karmic justice, whatever you want to say,
- 11:21Speaker 4: I think Michigan's in trouble.
- 11:23Speaker 3: And it all goes back to Underwood. You know who's
- 11:26Speaker 3: not in trouble? Who?
- 11:28Speaker 4: A team that is fully backed just like that. The
- 11:32Speaker 4: Florida Gators.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Are back.
- 11:34Speaker 4: Mm-hmm. John Sumrall already gets his signature win first year.
- 11:38Speaker 4: He's now got a top five win to the name.
- 11:40Speaker 4: We all talked about the intangibles of Trinidad Chambliss. I
- 11:44Speaker 4: can't bet against that. How do you stand up to that? Well,
- 11:46Speaker 4: you know how you can? With Jaden Ball, the best
- 11:49Speaker 4: running back in the entire country, combined with maybe the
- 11:52Speaker 4: best OC, a great O-line, and a quarterback in Aaron
- 11:56Speaker 4: Filo that can do enough there.
- 11:58Speaker 2: Oh.
- 11:59Speaker 4: We see a lot of preseason favorites implode every year.
- 12:03Speaker 4: I feel like it's rare that we see the resurrection
- 12:07Speaker 4: of a true giant.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Cause that's what Florida is. They're not a good story.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Like they are immediately relevant to the championship picture.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Right. And we saw it last year with, with Miami,
- 12:18Speaker 2: certainly after the winning against Notre Dame, uh, resurrecting and
- 12:21Speaker 2: getting to the title game in Florida could be that
- 12:23Speaker 2: team this year. It will be interesting to see how
- 12:26Speaker 2: John Summerall on that team handles the I don't want
- 12:29Speaker 2: to say adversity, but the challenge this week. They are
- 12:32Speaker 2: in essentially the same position Ole Miss was a week ago.
- 12:37Speaker 2: You beat Lane Kiffin, you beat LSU, you got to
- 12:39Speaker 2: go on the road and handle a really good Florida team.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Florida obviously got the win. Now Florida's got to go
- 12:45Speaker 2: on the road. And granted, Missouri's a little different animal.
- 12:49Speaker 2: The next time Eli Drinkwitz and Missouri actually beat somebody
- 12:51Speaker 2: good will be the first time, at least in the
- 12:54Speaker 2: regular season. But can Florida now go on the road
- 12:57Speaker 2: off of that emotional win? I think they can. You
- 13:00Speaker 2: got a running game like that. You got a defensive
- 13:02Speaker 2: line like that. Those two things travel. And it's an
- 13:07Speaker 2: interesting theme, guys. Like, how much does coaching matter? You
- 13:11Speaker 2: look at John Sumrall at Florida. You look at James
- 13:14Speaker 2: Franklin at Virginia Tech. You look at Bob Chesney at UCLA.
- 13:18Speaker 2: All three of those teams now undefeated after making some
- 13:20Speaker 2: coaching changes in what's proven to be a couple of really,
- 13:23Speaker 2: really good hires.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Yeah, it makes you wonder what Billy Napier was doing, right?
- 13:26Speaker 3: I mean, recruiting all those guys.
- 13:28Speaker 4: I was going to say, one thing Napier did do, like,
- 13:31Speaker 4: he knew how to get talent there.
- 13:33Speaker 5: Right.
- 13:34Speaker 3: For whatever reason, he just couldn't get them to win.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yes.
- 13:37Speaker 3: But, like, they are a stacked team.
- 13:39Speaker 2: 4-0, I believe, with James Madison right now. So give
- 13:41Speaker 2: him a little bit of credit. He's doing a good
- 13:43Speaker 2: job at JMU.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Well, I'll do it at Florida. Well, they called him
- 13:46Speaker 3: Sunbelt Billy. That's great.
- 13:49Speaker 2: On a tee for you.
- 13:50Speaker 3: Do it in the SEC.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I mean, I don't want to give him credit. Bear,
- 13:55Speaker 1: can you explain this for a second? Because me and
- 13:57Speaker 1: Taylor were confused, or at least I was. Why was
- 13:59Speaker 1: Florida three and a half point favorites in that game?
- 14:02Speaker 1: I took Mississippi, even though the guys on college game
- 14:04Speaker 1: day said, stay away from this game. You said, stay
- 14:07Speaker 1: away from this game. And I still took Mississippi because
- 14:10Speaker 1: I believe in that quarterback.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Because it was the squarest play on the board and
- 14:14Speaker 2: the odds maker. And Summerill joked about it, about the,
- 14:17Speaker 2: the drug, the really good drugs that they were on
- 14:19Speaker 2: in Vegas. But I even said, yeah, they might be,
- 14:22Speaker 2: there might be some really good drugs in Vegas. However,
- 14:25Speaker 2: they're really good at their jobs. They know that Florida
- 14:28Speaker 2: was the most positively adjusted team in the country. They
- 14:32Speaker 2: were adjusted like seven or eight points from their preseason number.
- 14:36Speaker 2: They knew the emotional spot for Ole Miss was a
- 14:40Speaker 2: dangerous one. And let me throw this at you just
- 14:43Speaker 2: to kind of kick around a little bit. While we
- 14:45Speaker 2: all love Trinidad Chambliss, maybe Ole Miss was just kind
- 14:49Speaker 2: of a little bit high, a little bit, I don't
- 14:52Speaker 2: want to say overrated, but maybe we thought a little
- 14:55Speaker 2: bit too much about them going into that game. Yes,
- 14:58Speaker 2: they beat LSU in that game where they got emotionally
- 15:01Speaker 2: sky high, and maybe they could have beaten maybe anybody
- 15:04Speaker 2: that day. The Louisville win, which I thought was a
- 15:07Speaker 2: good win at the time, certainly Louisville going against Wake
- 15:11Speaker 2: Forest last week at home and losing, that doesn't look
- 15:13Speaker 2: like As good of a win. The Ole Miss defense
- 15:16Speaker 2: looked dreadful against Portland. Maybe Ole Miss just isn't as
- 15:21Speaker 2: good as maybe we also thought they were and had
- 15:24Speaker 2: an opportunity there to take advantage of it.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Why are you making a face there, T-Bub?
- 15:28Speaker 4: I can't fully get there. I have to give Ole
- 15:34Speaker 4: Miss credit. I think Wake Forest, that beat Louisville, Wake
- 15:36Speaker 4: Forest is pretty good. They won nine games. Dickert's a
- 15:41Speaker 4: great coach. They won nine games of the bowl game
- 15:43Speaker 4: last year. They played Miami very tough.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yes, I got this from Mikey A. yesterday, by the way,
- 15:48Speaker 1: after the fact. I didn't know he was that guy.
- 15:50Speaker 1: This is after I already made the picks to God's.
- 15:52Speaker 1: You got to stop picking against Wake Forest. And I'm like, hey,
- 15:56Speaker 1: you're that guy? You should have told me that on
- 15:58Speaker 1: the front end.
- 15:58Speaker 2: He's got that hindsight 2020 look to him.
- 16:04Speaker 4: I think the story is less about Ole Miss being
- 16:07Speaker 4: overrated and more about we're still just waking up to
- 16:10Speaker 4: how good Florida is. Like the majority of offenses will
- 16:14Speaker 4: not be able to put that Ole Miss defense in
- 16:17Speaker 4: a bind with Like, like the Gators are.
- 16:19Speaker 3: Able to do.
- 16:20Speaker 4: Also, I mean, Ole Miss is, we could take away
- 16:23Speaker 4: for Louisville losing, but LSU went out and dominated Texas
- 16:26Speaker 4: A & M.
- 16:26Speaker 2: Yes.
- 16:27Speaker 3: So like, so that's a, that's a win for Ole
- 16:28Speaker 3: Miss that, that, that, that looks good.
- 16:29Speaker 4: And, and I cannot say enough guys about Jaden Ball and, and,
- 16:34Speaker 4: and what he can do in this offense, where it's,
- 16:36Speaker 4: it's almost like. modern day pro style, like triple option,
- 16:42Speaker 4: like wing T sort of attack. There's so much misdirection.
- 16:46Speaker 4: They make you guard the entire field. They, the, the
- 16:48Speaker 4: O-line is huge.
- 16:49Speaker 3: They're excellent.
- 16:50Speaker 4: Some of those Florida uniforms just make O-linemen look more
- 16:52Speaker 4: bad-ass and, and ball. He wears no gloves, just wrist tape.
- 16:57Speaker 4: He's got patience and he's like a, He's like a
- 17:00Speaker 4: boxer back there, man. He's just buying his time. He's
- 17:04Speaker 4: taking body shots. He hits you with the haymakers like
- 17:07Speaker 4: he has a gravitational pull on the football field where
- 17:11Speaker 4: everything revolves around. And my question is, if you get
- 17:14Speaker 4: out to a lead on Florida. And if they have
- 17:17Speaker 4: to play catch-up in a game, can Philo do it?
- 17:20Speaker 4: If you can manage to somehow force them away from ball,
- 17:23Speaker 4: that is how.
- 17:24Speaker 3: I see them potentially losing.
- 17:25Speaker 4: But it's going to be rare, I think, the team
- 17:28Speaker 4: that's going to be able to make them answer that question.
- 17:30Speaker 2: And can that type of workload for a running back
- 17:33Speaker 2: continue all year long in the SEC against that schedule?
- 17:38Speaker 2: I mean, they got Texas-Georgia in consecutive games. They got
- 17:42Speaker 2: the Idol week after they go to Texas before the
- 17:44Speaker 2: cocktail party. Wow, he had number one, number two in
- 17:48Speaker 2: consecutive games. But they can now– you never want to
- 17:53Speaker 2: lose a game, but even if they lose those two games,
- 17:57Speaker 2: they're going to finish 10-2. They're going to be in
- 17:59Speaker 2: the playoff.
- 18:00Speaker 3: Yeah, 10-2 gets you in.
- 18:02Speaker 4: If you're in the SEC or the Big Ten, it
- 18:04Speaker 4: would be incredibly rare that 10-2 would not get you in.
- 18:07Speaker 2: We mentioned LSU in the blowout win. How– you never
- 18:11Speaker 2: want to– no, I'm not going to say that. No,
- 18:13Speaker 2: we're going to pat ourselves on the back for that.
- 18:14Speaker 2: You can do it too, T-Bob. How about A & M, man? Wow,
- 18:18Speaker 2: they are everything we kind of thought they were. Yeah.
- 18:22Speaker 3: Not good.
- 18:23Speaker 4: I mean, you get a lot wrong doing this, but
- 18:27Speaker 4: every now and then you get something right. And I'm sorry,
- 18:29Speaker 4: you lose five offensive linemen to the NFL. I mean,
- 18:32Speaker 4: an entire O-line goes to the NFL. You're going to
- 18:35Speaker 4: struggle that next year.
- 18:36Speaker 5: Right.
- 18:37Speaker 4: Especially when you have a quarterback that already struggled in
- 18:40Speaker 4: the context of having a great running game, having a
- 18:43Speaker 4: great defense, having a great O-line. You take away those
- 18:46Speaker 4: three elements, and now Marcel Reed, I mean, he just,
- 18:49Speaker 4: he's worse than we thought.
- 18:50Speaker 3: He's worse than we thought. He looked completely hapless.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Just going back to Florida for a second, it's odd
- 18:55Speaker 1: that you would question an OC like Buster Faulkner and
- 18:58Speaker 1: his ability to bring a team back if indeed that
- 19:01Speaker 1: team was down.
- 19:02Speaker 3: That Florida team is talented. That team is very, very good.
- 19:05Speaker 1: They beat a really good Mississippi team coming off an
- 19:08Speaker 1: LSU victory.
- 19:09Speaker 3: Guys, correct me if I'm wrong. We all agree on this, right?
- 19:12Speaker 1: Because when you see the Swamp, right, and you see
- 19:15Speaker 1: those uniforms, some of the nicest uniforms, jerseys in the country,
- 19:18Speaker 1: on a perfectly clear day and on a cloud in
- 19:21Speaker 1: the sky in Gainesville, When Florida's good, Miami's good, Florida
- 19:26Speaker 1: State is good. When those three schools, when the Florida
- 19:28Speaker 1: schools are good, college football.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Is better, right?
- 19:31Speaker 2: You're taking me back to, like, the cover of, like,
- 19:34Speaker 2: the 1988 Sports Illustrated, I think it was, where, like,
- 19:37Speaker 2: all the Florida teams, the Florida, the showcase of college football.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I forget exactly what year. Well, at least we got
- 19:44Speaker 2: two of the three right this year.
- 19:46Speaker 3: I'll say this.
- 19:47Speaker 4: The Swamp, loudest, toughest environment. I ever played in. That
- 19:51Speaker 4: was the Tebow era. It's built to hold in the sound.
- 19:54Speaker 4: They're right on top of you. I love seeing the
- 19:56Speaker 4: swamp come alive again. We're going to talk to coach
- 19:58Speaker 4: landing in a second. That Oregon game, man, balls to the,
- 20:02Speaker 4: like a true nut-cutting test for the Ducks. They got
- 20:06Speaker 4: to go to the Coliseum. They are in a battle.
- 20:08Speaker 4: Dante Moore gets knocked out with.
- 20:09Speaker 2: A cheap shot.
- 20:11Speaker 3: And here comes Dilla Raiola, the former number one recruit
- 20:14Speaker 3: in the entire country. He plays great. I thought Oregon
- 20:17Speaker 3: proved something this weekend, man.
- 20:18Speaker 4: I had a lot of questions about their toughness, their lines.
- 20:21Speaker 3: They go out there.
- 20:22Speaker 4: They get the 41-27 win. Grats to Oregon and the Ducks.
- 20:25Speaker 2: Let's talk.
- 20:26Speaker 4: To Coach Dan Lanning about it here on the College
- 20:29Speaker 4: Football Show with Stu Gotson-Bear. We are joined by a
- 20:57Speaker 4: very special guest on Victory Monday.
- 21:00Speaker 3: That's Oregon Duck head coach Dan Lanning. Coach Lanning, what's up, man?
- 21:04Speaker 3: How are we doing today?
- 21:05Speaker 5: Doing good. Appreciate you guys having.
- 21:08Speaker 4: Me.
- 21:08Speaker 3: Coach, so you made headlines after the other night.
- 21:11Speaker 4: During the postgame, big win, 41-27, really close in emphatic fashion.
- 21:16Speaker 4: And you let them know a little bit. Look, you
- 21:19Speaker 4: want to win games? You come to Oregon. You want
- 21:21Speaker 4: to go to a Chris Brown concert?
- 21:23Speaker 2: Sure.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Go to USC.
- 21:28Speaker 4: What was the, like with a line like that, do
- 21:30Speaker 4: you know you're going to deliver that going into the conference?
- 21:33Speaker 3: Or does that just happen mid-presser?
- 21:35Speaker 5: I mean, not completely. I was being a little petty.
- 21:38Speaker 5: I was probably a little frustrated with, you know, just
- 21:41Speaker 5: things throughout the game. I was on, I was kind
- 21:43Speaker 5: of amped and excited and yeah, I felt like delivering.
- 21:47Speaker 5: a little bit of a shot. We took some shots
- 21:49Speaker 5: in the offseason, felt like it was time to deliver
- 21:51Speaker 5: a shot back when it mattered most.
- 21:53Speaker 2: A little international love song there.
- 21:56Speaker 3: I love that.
- 21:57Speaker 2: I dropped a little Chris Brown analogy.
- 21:58Speaker 5: I like Chris Brown. That's the part that people can't...
- 22:01Speaker 5: Don't mistake that for me not liking his music.
- 22:03Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 22:04Speaker 5: I'm not on vacation, though. We're playing football.
- 22:06Speaker 3: There's a difference.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Do you have an update? I mean, some people may
- 22:11Speaker 2: have seen an update last night that you guys released. Dante,
- 22:13Speaker 2: is he okay? Is he going to be okay? That's
- 22:15Speaker 2: obviously what I think everyone's.
- 22:17Speaker 5: Yeah, thank God that, you know, obviously it's a very
- 22:20Speaker 5: serious concussion. It's one that, you know, that we want
- 22:23Speaker 5: to use. And I want to thank our medical staff
- 22:25Speaker 5: and USC's medical staff for everybody operating with an abundance
- 22:29Speaker 5: of caution, you know, was able to go through some
- 22:31Speaker 5: scans and evaluate that right now nothing more than a concussion.
- 22:35Speaker 5: But obviously it's the kind of guy that wants to
- 22:37Speaker 5: get back out there and play football immediately. And what
- 22:39Speaker 5: he has to have is a reset. And we got
- 22:41Speaker 5: to make sure that he's healthy before we see him
- 22:43Speaker 5: out there. So almost protecting the player from himself. right,
- 22:46Speaker 5: in some sense. But thank God he's doing good, awake, alert,
- 22:50Speaker 5: doing okay. And obviously it's a scary moment for everybody,
- 22:54Speaker 5: but it looks like he's going to be okay.
- 22:56Speaker 1: Coach, after that first half, after a hit like that,
- 22:59Speaker 1: you're losing your best player. What do you tell your
- 23:00Speaker 1: team at halftime of that game?
- 23:02Speaker 5: Yeah, I think it's really important in that moment that
- 23:05Speaker 5: we remind our guys this game has to be played
- 23:07Speaker 5: between the whistles. And, you know, our guys were emotional.
- 23:11Speaker 5: It took a reset for our team where we had to,
- 23:13Speaker 5: you know, and refigure, okay, how are we going to
- 23:16Speaker 5: attack this thing moving forward? And there was a lot
- 23:19Speaker 5: of energy expended, especially right after the injury of our
- 23:22Speaker 5: guys on the sideline. Guys juiced up, you know, and
- 23:26Speaker 5: we got to make sure that that happens. When the
- 23:28Speaker 5: whistle's blown, right, we got to be able to execute
- 23:30Speaker 5: between the whistles. And I thought our guys did an
- 23:31Speaker 5: outstanding job of that.
- 23:34Speaker 4: Coach, Dylan Ryola, you know, big, big recruit coming out
- 23:38Speaker 4: of high school.
- 23:39Speaker 3: It was a massive deal when he goes to Nebraska.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:41Speaker 3: He does a very Dante Moore-esque decision. Says, you know what?
- 23:45Speaker 4: I need to take a step back. Maybe I need
- 23:47Speaker 4: to go learn and see what I'm about. And have
- 23:51Speaker 4: you talked to him after the game? What have you
- 23:53Speaker 4: seen out of him? Like, did you think that he
- 23:55Speaker 4: would be ready for this moment?
- 23:57Speaker 3: Called in last second. He really came through.
- 23:58Speaker 4: It was like 19 at 25, threw his yards, two tuds.
- 24:01Speaker 4: He played better than you could ever hope your backup
- 24:04Speaker 4: would play in that scenario.
- 24:06Speaker 5: Yeah, he was outstanding.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:08Speaker 5: And that's part of the reason he's here. You know,
- 24:09Speaker 5: I think it shows unbelievable maturity for him to say, OK,
- 24:12Speaker 5: I want to take the opportunity to go and learn.
- 24:14Speaker 2: And he has.
- 24:15Speaker 5: But he's worked every single week as if he's the
- 24:17Speaker 5: guy that's going to go in and play every single snap.
- 24:19Speaker 5: And obviously the indication of that is how we play.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Right.
- 24:22Speaker 5: And even even within that, there's growth moments for him.
- 24:24Speaker 5: There's plays that, OK, we need to if we had
- 24:26Speaker 5: this play back, how would we how would we operate?
- 24:28Speaker 5: What would our decision be here? But I thought he
- 24:30Speaker 5: showed unbelievable poise, really focused in the moment. He cares
- 24:33Speaker 5: for Dante as much as anybody on this team. He
- 24:35Speaker 5: didn't want to go out there and play well for.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Him, and he did.
- 24:39Speaker 2: Every week, I know, it's 1-0, 1-0, 1-0. But after
- 24:43Speaker 2: the loss to Oklahoma State, did you look at the
- 24:47Speaker 2: schedule and you kind of played it out in, like,
- 24:50Speaker 2: this USC game is an absolute must-win for us or
- 24:54Speaker 2: else we leave ourselves zero margin forever? Was that– Was
- 24:58Speaker 2: there a sense in the planning that we really need
- 25:01Speaker 2: to go out and get this win and everything has
- 25:03Speaker 2: to be focused on beating USC to put ourselves in
- 25:06Speaker 2: a position to get back to the playoff like most
- 25:08Speaker 2: people thought Oregon was going to be before the year.
- 25:10Speaker 2: So I thought that Oregon came with the fewest amount
- 25:12Speaker 2: of questions coming into the country, coming into the season,
- 25:15Speaker 2: and a little stumble early. But we've seen teams stumble
- 25:18Speaker 2: before early on and then want to make it a
- 25:20Speaker 2: hell of a run late in the season. Look at
- 25:22Speaker 2: Notre Dame a couple of years ago, made it all
- 25:23Speaker 2: the way to the title game after losing to Northern Illinois.
- 25:26Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I think we show some examples of
- 25:28Speaker 5: our team of that exact thing. You know, obviously, it's
- 25:30Speaker 5: a wake up call for us early. And we 100
- 25:32Speaker 5: percent felt like this is a game that we needed
- 25:33Speaker 5: to win.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Right.
- 25:34Speaker 5: And we feel like that with every game that we
- 25:35Speaker 5: step into. I don't know how far looking ahead. I
- 25:38Speaker 5: think what we did more than anything is stop looking
- 25:40Speaker 5: ahead and start looking at what's right in front of us. And,
- 25:43Speaker 5: you know, our guys knew, OK, there's things that we
- 25:45Speaker 5: can fix. There's things that we can attack. And we experienced,
- 25:48Speaker 5: you know, a good team in Oklahoma State. Obviously, I
- 25:50Speaker 5: think they continue to prove that they're a good team.
- 25:53Speaker 5: But we can play better than what we played. And
- 25:55Speaker 5: even from Saturday's result, we can be better than we
- 25:58Speaker 5: played on Saturday. So that's the goal is how do
- 26:00Speaker 5: we continue to improve? How do we look at what's
- 26:02Speaker 5: right in front of us? We're going to face some
- 26:03Speaker 5: really good teams as we keep moving. Obviously, UCLA is
- 26:06Speaker 5: rolling right now. Nebraska. We're going to have a lot
- 26:10Speaker 5: of teams ahead of us. that are playing really good football,
- 26:12Speaker 5: which means we have to keep getting better and keep
- 26:14Speaker 5: playing great ball.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Coach, you have coached in so many big games throughout
- 26:19Speaker 1: your career, and I think that's the most emotional I've
- 26:22Speaker 1: ever seen you in a game coaching from start to finish.
- 26:25Speaker 3: Is that fair? Yeah.
- 26:30Speaker 5: I've been emotional before.
- 26:32Speaker 1: No, I know you're an emotional guy. But that one
- 26:34Speaker 1: meant something just because of the hit and the nature
- 26:36Speaker 1: of everything that was happening. And you needed a victory.
- 26:40Speaker 3: And so I just felt like you were extra emotional
- 26:43Speaker 3: on your game, you know?
- 26:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 26:45Speaker 5: I mean, I needed a reset probably just like the
- 26:46Speaker 5: players did.
- 26:47Speaker 2: But, yeah, I was emotional, man.
- 26:49Speaker 5: I still feel like players are going to match your
- 26:51Speaker 5: intensity as a coach, right, and what you deliver as
- 26:54Speaker 5: a coach. And I want to coach with emotion because
- 26:56Speaker 5: I want to see our guys play with emotion.
- 26:58Speaker 4: Coach, one thing that I really enjoyed reading about this
- 27:01Speaker 4: offseason with y'all was the Harada method, right? This is
- 27:06Speaker 4: famously what Shohei Otani used. It's like a goal-setting Japanese
- 27:10Speaker 4: system to help you achieve your goals, right? And so
- 27:12Speaker 4: what I've been wondering since the stumble, does the method–
- 27:18Speaker 4: is there anything for dealing with setbacks, right? Like responding
- 27:22Speaker 4: to adversity. Or is that more of a preseason thing?
- 27:25Speaker 4: You put that away and I've been here before.
- 27:28Speaker 3: I know how to teach this.
- 27:29Speaker 5: No, I mean, it's 100%. You know, I think what
- 27:32Speaker 5: we talked about is our focus can't be on the
- 27:34Speaker 5: telescope goal of what's in the middle of that board, right?
- 27:37Speaker 5: Our focus has to be on all the small details
- 27:39Speaker 5: on the outside of that board. And, you know, within
- 27:41Speaker 5: that's emotional control, within that's character, within that's growth, right?
- 27:44Speaker 5: So I think that's what more than anything in the
- 27:47Speaker 5: Harada method, we redirected our focus on these pieces that
- 27:50Speaker 5: are on the outside and And that stuff that's in
- 27:51Speaker 5: the middle, it doesn't matter until we do what? Take
- 27:54Speaker 5: care of the business on the outside of that board.
- 27:56Speaker 2: How smart do you think I am? The Harada method?
- 27:59Speaker 2: I'm learning something every day.
- 28:02Speaker 4: It's a middle school Japanese track coach made up this
- 28:06Speaker 4: system that Shohei uses and Coach Lanning brought it over
- 28:09Speaker 4: to the Ducks this offseason, dude.
- 28:10Speaker 3: It's badass.
- 28:11Speaker 4: It's actually– it's like if you look it up, it's
- 28:14Speaker 4: something that everybody can apply to their life and it
- 28:16Speaker 4: would lead to probably like a more successful version of yourself.
- 28:20Speaker 5: We're just big believers in– anything you write down and
- 28:23Speaker 5: you establish as a goal, right. And you have it,
- 28:25Speaker 5: you know, for me, I've always been a goal setter.
- 28:27Speaker 5: I put it in front of you, challenge yourself to
- 28:29Speaker 5: attack it every single day. It's the same sort of
- 28:31Speaker 5: thought process. It's almost like a vision board. That's keeping
- 28:33Speaker 5: you on track with what you're trying to attack and
- 28:35Speaker 5: what you're trying to improve.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Bear, you were not alone there. I was also thinking
- 28:39Speaker 1: what the hell are these two talking about?
- 28:40Speaker 3: Just so you.
- 28:41Speaker 5: Know, I'll shoot you a text afterwards.
- 28:43Speaker 4: The best part of being a college football coach is
- 28:49Speaker 4: you have this massive victory on Saturday coaching. Now you
- 28:53Speaker 4: get to enjoy a little Monday, a bye week. And
- 28:56Speaker 4: how do you get to celebrate? By going to talk
- 28:59Speaker 4: to a bunch of hard-bodied teens at local high schools.
- 29:01Speaker 4: How we feeling, dude? We got to be fired up
- 29:04Speaker 4: to hit the high school circuit this week.
- 29:06Speaker 5: It's a good week to be recruiting for sure. We
- 29:08Speaker 5: got some work to do before we do that. We'll
- 29:10Speaker 5: get on the road Thursday and go see some guys.
- 29:13Speaker 5: I told our players just this morning, we just had
- 29:15Speaker 5: a meeting, right? And I just said, hey, look, the
- 29:18Speaker 5: reward for a job well done is the opportunity to
- 29:20Speaker 5: do more work.
- 29:21Speaker 4: Right.
- 29:21Speaker 5: So that's what we got ahead of us, man, is
- 29:23Speaker 5: an opportunity to do more work. And then obviously recruiting
- 29:25Speaker 5: is a big piece of that. And we'll attack it.
- 29:28Speaker 2: In terms of recruiting. Now, I don't want to put
- 29:30Speaker 2: any words in your mouth or positions to be recruiting,
- 29:33Speaker 2: but Oregon might be turning into the new tight end
- 29:35Speaker 2: U with Sadiq having an unbelievable start to the season
- 29:39Speaker 2: for the Jets. It might be offensive rookie of the year.
- 29:41Speaker 2: And has USC figured out how to cover Jamari Johnson yet?
- 29:45Speaker 5: Jamari's a great player. And you're right. Our tight ends
- 29:47Speaker 5: have always performed since we've been here. You know, going
- 29:49Speaker 5: back to T-Ferg, Pat Herbert, right? Kenny Sadiq. Obviously, Jamari's
- 29:53Speaker 5: carrying that torch right now. And he's a special player
- 29:56Speaker 5: when he's out there. I'm glad he was able to
- 29:57Speaker 5: make his presence known on the field. on Saturday and
- 30:00Speaker 5: continue to see big things from him.
- 30:02Speaker 1: Coach, could you ever imagine yourself wiping a player's face
- 30:06Speaker 1: and there's blood on the face and then you have
- 30:08Speaker 1: blood on, you have his blood on your hands and
- 30:10Speaker 1: then you wipe it on your face.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Could you ever see yourself?
- 30:13Speaker 1: You talked about matching intensity before. Could you ever envision
- 30:16Speaker 1: Dan Lanning doing that to himself?
- 30:19Speaker 5: I text PJ. I saw that we're good friends with PJ.
- 30:22Speaker 5: And obviously sometimes we have to compete against each other.
- 30:24Speaker 5: I got so much respect for him, but I text
- 30:26Speaker 5: him later on. Hey man, you're my spirit animal.
- 30:32Speaker 2: We're headed there for big noon this week. I might
- 30:34Speaker 2: have to see if we can do a little demo
- 30:35Speaker 2: on the field. Maybe I can get on the demo
- 30:37Speaker 2: field with like Brady or Matt or something or Mark
- 30:39Speaker 2: and exchange a little blood and wipe a little war
- 30:41Speaker 2: paint on each other.
- 30:45Speaker 4: Coach, I got to ask you about something that was
- 30:48Speaker 4: making the rounds a couple of weeks ago because it
- 30:51Speaker 4: ties like very uniquely into self-scouting, being a coach. But
- 30:55Speaker 4: it was the whole ordeal with Dante tipping.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Plays, right?
- 31:01Speaker 4: But before they were run, how did you all handle
- 31:04Speaker 4: that internally? And do you agree with what everybody was saying?
- 31:10Speaker 5: I agree that there's some things that showed up that
- 31:12Speaker 5: we could certainly be cleaner at. I'd say all teams
- 31:14Speaker 5: have tendencies, right? Sometimes you try to utilize those tendencies.
- 31:17Speaker 5: I think it's something that we're aware of and we
- 31:19Speaker 5: could coach at a higher level and a degree. Do
- 31:21Speaker 5: I think that every team that we've played has been
- 31:23Speaker 5: able to feed off of that and use that? No,
- 31:25Speaker 5: absolutely not. We're pretty tuned in. And a lot of
- 31:27Speaker 5: times you have conversation with teams, especially non-conference teams afterwards. Hey,
- 31:31Speaker 5: what'd you have on us? You know, what, here's what
- 31:32Speaker 5: we had on you and try to communicate and share
- 31:34Speaker 5: that stuff. So, We talked to Oklahoma State after that game.
- 31:38Speaker 5: They had more tells based on some of our offensive
- 31:41Speaker 5: linemen throughout the game, more so than any of those looks.
- 31:44Speaker 5: But is it something we can coach?
- 31:46Speaker 2: 100%.
- 31:46Speaker 5: Can we do a better job there? Absolutely. Something we've
- 31:49Speaker 5: been conscientious of. But to say that that's been the
- 31:53Speaker 5: big piece that's affecting how people play us, I disagree
- 31:57Speaker 5: with that.
- 31:58Speaker 2: When does Ducks versus them drop? I can't wait to
- 32:00Speaker 2: see it this week.
- 32:01Speaker 5: Believe it or not, I don't make that video. I'll
- 32:03Speaker 5: watch it before it gets released, but it should be
- 32:06Speaker 5: coming out soon.
- 32:07Speaker 3: You have final say on that? It's all of it?
- 32:08Speaker 2: Yes, of course.
- 32:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going to look at it and see what's
- 32:11Speaker 5: on it. I'll probably have to remove some stuff. Maybe
- 32:16Speaker 5: we leave some stuff in there. We'll see.
- 32:18Speaker 2: For those who are unfamiliar with what I'm talking about,
- 32:21Speaker 2: they have probably the best hype video ever. cinematic recap
- 32:27Speaker 2: of any team out there. I, my favorite one, I
- 32:29Speaker 2: mentioned this to coach last year when he was on.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Bear Betts was recreating the scene from Gladiator at the
- 32:35Speaker 2: big house a couple of years ago, just watching the
- 32:37Speaker 2: stadium empty out as they were blowing at him. It
- 32:39Speaker 2: was awesome.
- 32:41Speaker 1: Coach, just going back to the hit for a second,
- 32:43Speaker 1: and I apologize because I know you want to get
- 32:45Speaker 1: away from it. I'm just wondering, the hit was bad.
- 32:47Speaker 1: The reaction on the sidelines was bad. Does Lincoln Riley
- 32:51Speaker 1: say anything to you in that moment or after the
- 32:53Speaker 1: game just about how his team acted and he'll take
- 32:56Speaker 1: care of it afterwards?
- 32:58Speaker 5: Lincoln and I talked right after the game. He was
- 33:00Speaker 5: very concerned about Dante. You know, I got a lot
- 33:02Speaker 5: of respect for Lincoln. So I want to make sure
- 33:05Speaker 5: that that's clear that he was, you know, he had
- 33:07Speaker 5: concern about it. I didn't see a lot of behavior
- 33:09Speaker 5: just like, and I'm not shocked. You don't, you're so
- 33:12Speaker 5: focused in the moment. You might not see everything that's
- 33:14Speaker 5: happening around you. And that's where you count on the
- 33:15Speaker 5: people around you to be able to help you out
- 33:16Speaker 5: in that moment. So there's no doubt in my mind that,
- 33:18Speaker 5: you know, Coach Riley will handle any of those things,
- 33:21Speaker 5: you know, internally and, ultimately his concern was for the player.
- 33:26Speaker 5: I know he hates to see that, just like I
- 33:28Speaker 5: would hate to see that for my team.
- 33:29Speaker 3: Yes. Coach, what about this?
- 33:33Speaker 4: Y'all's toughness out of these first few games was being
- 33:38Speaker 4: called into question, right? Coming into the year, you had
- 33:40Speaker 4: the incredible D-lines, O-lines. Maybe their performance had left a
- 33:44Speaker 4: bit to be desired early on. Is that maybe the single–
- 33:49Speaker 4: Is that the biggest area that somebody could attack in
- 33:53Speaker 4: terms of pissing off Coach Dan Lanning and wanting to
- 33:57Speaker 4: show an immediate response when people say they're not tough enough?
- 34:01Speaker 5: I mean, I could really care less about the opinions
- 34:03Speaker 5: of others because I get to see it every single
- 34:05Speaker 5: day in practice. But anytime we get to use it
- 34:07Speaker 5: as motivation, I'm not going to shy away from the
- 34:09Speaker 5: opportunity to utilize it. That's for sure.
- 34:12Speaker 4: Coach, so what does this bye week look like? What's
- 34:15Speaker 4: the schedule to make sure that everybody's legs are ready
- 34:19Speaker 4: for what is going to be just a hurtling down
- 34:23Speaker 4: the train tracks finish here to the rest of this season?
- 34:27Speaker 5: Yeah, we got an eight-game stretch coming out of this
- 34:30Speaker 5: bye week, so we got to be smart about how
- 34:32Speaker 5: we operate. Today is really a recovery day, corrections day,
- 34:35Speaker 5: putting this game to bed, and then we're going to
- 34:37Speaker 5: start focusing on ourself. The next couple days, we'll have
- 34:39Speaker 5: some practices to focus on ourself, where we need to grow.
- 34:41Speaker 5: And then we'll get an opportunity to get a little
- 34:43Speaker 5: bit of a jump on UCLA because obviously they're playing
- 34:45Speaker 5: really good football as well. So it doesn't get any
- 34:48Speaker 5: easier moving forward.
- 34:49Speaker 4: Right.
- 34:50Speaker 5: We just came off a big game, but that one's over.
- 34:51Speaker 5: It's about the next one. This week is going to
- 34:53Speaker 5: be about the Ducks. Right. What things can we add
- 34:55Speaker 5: on both sides of the ball to make us improve?
- 34:57Speaker 5: What things can we do better? What are our strengths?
- 34:59Speaker 5: What are our weaknesses and how do we attack it?
- 35:02Speaker 5: And we're going to have a great week of work.
- 35:03Speaker 4: Right.
- 35:04Speaker 5: And as we attack that work, hopefully we see the
- 35:07Speaker 5: fruits of our labor here as we continue the season.
- 35:09Speaker 3: Are you getting any Outback Steakhouse this week?
- 35:12Speaker 5: Doubtful.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Yeah, doubtful.
- 35:13Speaker 5: No Outback Steakhouse, but I'll probably get to see my
- 35:15Speaker 5: kids a little bit, which will be awesome.
- 35:17Speaker 2: That's a good thing.
- 35:20Speaker 3: Why no Outback? Why no steak? What's going on?
- 35:23Speaker 5: I love Outback. I don't love going out to eat.
- 35:26Speaker 5: I used to work at Outback. That's why T-Bob breaks
- 35:28Speaker 5: it up.
- 35:30Speaker 4: You've never seen Coach Lanning's tattoo. The Outback story, it
- 35:34Speaker 4: is a true modern American romance for the ages.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Outback Steakhouse used to be our Friday night go-to. Early
- 35:42Speaker 2: mid-90s when I started at ESPN and game day wasn't
- 35:45Speaker 2: on the road every week, every Friday night we would
- 35:47Speaker 2: go to Outback, myself and some other researchers and producers,
- 35:51Speaker 2: Alice Springs chicken, Bloomin' Onion, Walkabout Soup, we were good
- 35:55Speaker 2: to go.
- 35:56Speaker 5: Be honest, Barry, you ever have a Wallaby Darn?
- 35:59Speaker 2: No, no.
- 36:00Speaker 5: Oh, you're missing out, man. I could give you the
- 36:02Speaker 5: whole menu, man. But like Wallaby Darn sounds like a
- 36:04Speaker 5: girl drink. So I would always get the Wallaby Darn
- 36:07Speaker 5: because it is. It's kind of a girl drink, but
- 36:08Speaker 5: it's delicious, right? Then I'd get a big Foster's right
- 36:11Speaker 5: beside it to kind of offset. A big old Foster's
- 36:16Speaker 5: beside it. But yeah, when I was a server, right,
- 36:20Speaker 5: back in the day, you could get, you know, your table,
- 36:23Speaker 5: a sample of Wallaby Darn, right? You'd be like, hey,
- 36:25Speaker 5: you're trying to upsell. You're like, oh, you want that
- 36:27Speaker 5: steak with a blue cheese crust?
- 36:28Speaker 4: Right.
- 36:29Speaker 5: Would you like a wallaby darn? And you could go
- 36:31Speaker 5: to the bar and you get a sample. So I'd
- 36:33Speaker 5: go to the bar, I'd get a sample. And then
- 36:34Speaker 5: I'd go back and just. Growing up a little bit
- 36:40Speaker 5: since then. That's the kind of thing you do when
- 36:42Speaker 5: you're in college. Most underrated menu item, in my opinion. Yes.
- 36:48Speaker 5: Prime rib. Yeah.
- 36:49Speaker 4: Right.
- 36:50Speaker 5: I do primary. They don't do it every day. They
- 36:51Speaker 5: used to do it every day when I was there.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Right.
- 36:53Speaker 5: But prime ribs. And then you ask for them to
- 36:54Speaker 5: season and sear the prime rib.
- 36:56Speaker 4: Wow.
- 36:57Speaker 5: There is nothing better in the world. So those are
- 36:59Speaker 5: my recommendations.
- 37:00Speaker 3: All right. The next time we have you on, I
- 37:01Speaker 3: would like you to go through the entire.
- 37:03Speaker 1: Outback menu since you haven't committed to memory, okay?
- 37:08Speaker 2: Absolutely.
- 37:09Speaker 3: All right, man.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Coach, thank you so much for doing this. We appreciate it.
- 37:14Speaker 1: I know you have to run. We have to run
- 37:15Speaker 1: as well. But congratulations on the victory and congratulations on
- 37:21Speaker 1: all your success here.
- 37:22Speaker 3: Good luck to you moving forward, man. We appreciate the time.
- 37:44Speaker 4: Alright guys, welcome back. Always love getting to sit down
- 37:47Speaker 4: with Coach Dan Lanning.
- 37:48Speaker 2: He's so sincere.
- 37:49Speaker 4: He's so locked in. He's still making time for the boys.
- 37:53Speaker 4: He's still talking about Wallaby Darby's.
- 37:55Speaker 3: What was it? Wallaby Darby's?
- 37:56Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 37:56Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 37:56Speaker 3: I'm going to get one though. This weekend in honor
- 37:58Speaker 3: of Coach, I'm going to get one.
- 38:00Speaker 2: Set the tone.
- 38:02Speaker 4: Bear, going forward, Oregon, we declared the dead... Now they
- 38:07Speaker 4: feel alive again. They've got a crazy schedule. Now that
- 38:12Speaker 4: we're like a quarter in, where do you sit on
- 38:14Speaker 4: the Oregon Ducks? They were my preseason national championship pick.
- 38:17Speaker 2: I feel a hell of a lot better about Oregon
- 38:19Speaker 2: than I did after that Oklahoma State game, that's for sure.
- 38:23Speaker 2: I mentioned to Coach about looking at the schedule, and
- 38:25Speaker 2: I know they're not going to go ahead and look
- 38:27Speaker 2: all the way down, but if they would have lost
- 38:29Speaker 2: that game in S8, you were putting yourself in a
- 38:31Speaker 2: position to win out, which means winning in Columbus at
- 38:35Speaker 2: Ohio State. or else you're looking at 9-3 and probably
- 38:38Speaker 2: out of the playoff. But now you're sitting here with
- 38:41Speaker 2: the one loss. You've got the idle week. You've got
- 38:44Speaker 2: UCLA coming to your house. You have what could very
- 38:46Speaker 2: well be an interesting reunion-type game against Nebraska if Dante
- 38:51Speaker 2: Moore is still unable to play. Dylan Iola against his
- 38:55Speaker 2: old team, an Illinois team, whose pass defense is terrible,
- 38:59Speaker 2: which I saw firsthand on Saturday. And the rest of
- 39:03Speaker 2: the way, it looks– Very, very doable, like 10-2 could
- 39:08Speaker 2: absolutely be a baseline for Oregon. It looks like right now,
- 39:12Speaker 2: if I were putting a yes-no price on the Ducks
- 39:14Speaker 2: making the playoffs, yes would certainly be the favorite.
- 39:16Speaker 1: And what would you say about USC? Because the big
- 39:18Speaker 1: story there is they lose that game. Their schedule is
- 39:21Speaker 1: tough the rest of the way. I think they have
- 39:22Speaker 1: Ohio State, they have Indiana on that schedule. Everyone's saying
- 39:25Speaker 1: this is the best team Lincoln Riley has had since
- 39:27Speaker 1: he's been at USC.
- 39:28Speaker 3: I think he's an overrated coach.
- 39:30Speaker 1: So what do you guys think about USC and their
- 39:32Speaker 1: chances to make the playoffs?
- 39:33Speaker 3: I would say they have no chance of making the playoffs.
- 39:37Speaker 2: I don't think so. I think the record now is
- 39:40Speaker 2: 5-16 in his last 21 games against ranked teams and
- 39:44Speaker 2: 2-9 maybe at USC if I remember off the top
- 39:47Speaker 2: of my head. And I was writing down a whole
- 39:51Speaker 2: bunch of things about some things never change. Jeremiah Smith
- 39:55Speaker 2: is still arguably the best player in college football. Arch
- 39:58Speaker 2: Banning is still inconsistent. Michigan and Oklahoma have offensive problems.
- 40:02Speaker 2: And oh, by the way, USC still doesn't have a defense.
- 40:04Speaker 2: And we saw that on Saturday night.
- 40:06Speaker 5: Yes.
- 40:12Speaker 2: But UCLA at the end of the year is going
- 40:13Speaker 2: to be tough. They've got to go to Penn State
- 40:15Speaker 2: in the whiteout game. Wisconsin looks like a rejuvenated team.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Eight and four seems like a cap year for USC,
- 40:25Speaker 2: given their youth and how poor I think their defenses
- 40:28Speaker 2: keep up.
- 40:29Speaker 4: Well, and Bear, I think you said it perfectly coming
- 40:33Speaker 4: into the game. On our first show, you said, if
- 40:36Speaker 4: not now, when? And then the starting quarterback goes down.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Yes.
- 40:41Speaker 3: So then it's really, if not now, when.
- 40:43Speaker 2: Right.
- 40:43Speaker 3: So I feel like we can answer the question.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Never. It's never.
- 40:48Speaker 4: It ain't happening. So, yeah, Stinkin' Lincoln, get him out
- 40:52Speaker 4: of here. Right now he's making over a milli per win. Yep.
- 40:57Speaker 4: to empty the Simmons clip here in honor of Colin Simmons.
- 41:00Speaker 4: Let's just let it all out on the floor.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Cover your eyes, everybody.
- 41:06Speaker 4: Maybe the one game that we haven't talked about yet,
- 41:09Speaker 4: Mississippi State guys got a ranked win, I believe for
- 41:12Speaker 4: the first time since 2012.
- 41:15Speaker 3: And I love how they did it.
- 41:16Speaker 4: Mizzou Bear with the lead late and Kamario Taylor, the
- 41:20Speaker 4: young phenom superstar, forced to come from behind and and
- 41:24Speaker 4: has two touchdown drives to close out that game. I mean,
- 41:28Speaker 4: this guy is freaking unbelievable.
- 41:31Speaker 2: And now can they snap the 16-game losing streak against Alabama?
- 41:35Speaker 2: Only two of those games have been decided by single digits.
- 41:39Speaker 2: But what was even– you mentioned Cabrillo. What was, I think,
- 41:43Speaker 2: not on the bingo card for a lot of people–
- 41:46Speaker 2: was two really good defensive stands. They bent a little bit,
- 41:50Speaker 2: but they did not allow Missouri into the end zone
- 41:52Speaker 2: on a couple of occasions where Missouri either sent the
- 41:55Speaker 2: game to overtime or maybe gone for two on the win.
- 41:58Speaker 2: So Mississippi State is a story moving forward. I was
- 42:02Speaker 2: a little surprised Alabama was a six-and-a-half-point favorite moving forward,
- 42:06Speaker 2: but Keelan Russell, Kamario Taylor this weekend, get your popcorn out, boys.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Yeah, Keelan Russell's a bit of a blind spot for
- 42:14Speaker 3: me still.
- 42:15Speaker 4: Alabama has not commanded main screen on any Saturday yet.
- 42:20Speaker 4: I have them in one of the boxes off to
- 42:22Speaker 4: the side and watch them struggle with Kentucky. Okay, they
- 42:25Speaker 4: end up blowing them out. Watch them mess around with
- 42:27Speaker 4: Florida State. They end up blowing them out. But all
- 42:29Speaker 4: reports are that, yeah, Keelan Russell.
- 42:32Speaker 3: This is the most.
- 42:33Speaker 4: Washington Kalen DeBoer that an Alabama football team has looked at.
- 42:37Speaker 3: Now, I don't know if that's good or bad.
- 42:39Speaker 4: Like, I don't know if that's going to make an
- 42:40Speaker 4: Alabama fan happy, but maybe finally this team starting to
- 42:46Speaker 4: resemble Kalen DeBoer a bit more.
- 42:48Speaker 1: Bear, I'll start with you real quick. Now, I have
- 42:50Speaker 1: a question, Bear. I'm sorry to cut you off. I
- 42:51Speaker 1: know you guys are dorking out on Alabama, but I
- 42:53Speaker 1: have to cut you off here. Bear, I'll start with you.
- 42:56Speaker 1: How do you guys feel about cowbells? Because cowbells is
- 42:59Speaker 1: the word I was trying to say.
- 43:01Speaker 3: I hate them. I can't stand them.
- 43:03Speaker 2: Really?
- 43:03Speaker 3: You like them?
- 43:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:05Speaker 3: They're annoying.
- 43:05Speaker 1: Enough.
- 43:06Speaker 3: I mean, seriously. Enough of the cowbells. Seriously. I lost
- 43:11Speaker 3: mine and I'm so upset. What do you mean you
- 43:13Speaker 3: lost yours?
- 43:15Speaker 2: They gave us cowbells when we went to the Auburn-Mississippi
- 43:20Speaker 2: State game in 2014. And somehow in transit. desk moving,
- 43:26Speaker 2: house moving, somewhere along the way, my cowbell is no
- 43:31Speaker 2: longer with me.
- 43:32Speaker 3: So you love it so much that you lost it, right?
- 43:36Speaker 3: I had it right now.
- 43:37Speaker 2: I would be going crying. I'm just like this.
- 43:39Speaker 3: But your money and wallet was still intact, but the
- 43:41Speaker 3: cowbell was gone. Yeah. To me, cowbells are, they're like
- 43:48Speaker 3: yell leaders.
- 43:49Speaker 2: Okay.
- 43:50Speaker 3: They're, they're not for me.
- 43:52Speaker 4: They're objectively a bit much, but they are also representative
- 43:57Speaker 4: of what makes college football so fun and so weird
- 44:00Speaker 4: and so quirky.
- 44:02Speaker 2: And that was a very SEC West comment. There's going
- 44:07Speaker 2: off on the yell leaders going off on the cow.
- 44:11Speaker 2: It's not for me.
- 44:12Speaker 4: But it is for someone out there and we like
- 44:15Speaker 4: traditions and, and I, 50,000 cowbells? I played in like
- 44:20Speaker 4: a Thursday night primetime game against Mississippi State, but they
- 44:23Speaker 4: were pretty good.
- 44:24Speaker 3: And that gets loud, dude.
- 44:25Speaker 2: It gets loud.
- 44:26Speaker 3: So shout out.
- 44:27Speaker 4: Hale State, they never have anything. Let's be happy for
- 44:29Speaker 4: them for.
- 44:29Speaker 3: A little bit.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Pretty peaceful. I'm sorry.
- 44:32Speaker 3: But not the yell leaders. The yell leaders suck, dude.
- 44:35Speaker 3: I mean, my God, dude. Well, I think the problem
- 44:37Speaker 3: is they may suck each other.
- 44:38Speaker 5: Did you see Bear after the.
- 44:44Speaker 4: After the LSU interception, them going and clowning the Yale
- 44:48Speaker 4: leaders in their celebration?
- 44:50Speaker 2: Yes, they did. What's going on there, Baton Rouge?
- 44:54Speaker 3: But nobody wants to talk about it. Yeah, everybody's hurt.
- 44:57Speaker 2: It sucks.
- 44:58Speaker 3: But LSU beat the hell out of Texas.
- 45:00Speaker 1: A & M.
- 45:00Speaker 3: So why do we want to talk about it? It
- 45:01Speaker 3: wasn't a close game. I don't know. They dropped in
- 45:04Speaker 3: the rankings. Nobody cares. They beat A & M 35-6.
- 45:07Speaker 4: Everybody's like, nah, they suck.
- 45:11Speaker 2: Florida was great, and Florida moved up. and jumped everybody.
- 45:16Speaker 2: That's ultimately what happened.
- 45:17Speaker 1: Let's wrap it up on this note because it's a
- 45:19Speaker 1: game we haven't spoken about yet, the defending national champions, okay? Now,
- 45:22Speaker 1: I know the game feels like it was played in Indiana.
- 45:25Speaker 1: I know the game feels like it was played a
- 45:26Speaker 1: month ago, right? But I have no idea, no idea
- 45:30Speaker 1: if that team is any good.
- 45:31Speaker 3: Do you guys? I mean, Northwestern.
- 45:34Speaker 2: They're clearly not the team they were last year. Defensively,
- 45:38Speaker 2: they've been good, but offensively, they've been very, I know
- 45:42Speaker 2: Bill Connolly, at ESPN.com, ESPN. He does a lot of
- 45:48Speaker 2: metrics and such, and there have been two teams this
- 45:51Speaker 2: year that have kind of underestimated their, or underperformed according
- 45:55Speaker 2: to their power rating each game, and it's both Indiana
- 45:59Speaker 2: and Texas Tech. Look, Hoover has been fine, but as
- 46:03Speaker 2: the injuries continue to mount at running back, that game
- 46:06Speaker 2: was there to be had for Northwestern on Friday night. Yes.
- 46:09Speaker 2: An asinine, dumb game. idiotic face mask penalty on a
- 46:13Speaker 2: third and 19. You're going to get Indiana off the field.
- 46:16Speaker 2: You're going to get the ball down to near midfield
- 46:19Speaker 2: and you commit a stupid penalty. And then right then
- 46:22Speaker 2: and there was when I hit live wager, Indiana, and
- 46:25Speaker 2: then four plays later, they're in the house for a touchdown.
- 46:28Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't get very bitter or animated or,
- 46:30Speaker 2: or anything when I, when I make my wagers, like
- 46:33Speaker 2: the kind of reverse psychology is.
- 46:36Speaker 4: So I think too, there's like, I think Indiana's, It's
- 46:40Speaker 4: a mixed bag where they're good. I don't think they're great.
- 46:44Speaker 4: I think they feel less than because they're being measured
- 46:47Speaker 4: against their past selves who were perfect, right? 16-0 last year.
- 46:52Speaker 4: But also, like, I do want to credit Northwestern. David Braun,
- 46:55Speaker 4: I mean, he won Big Ten Coach of the Year
- 46:57Speaker 4: his first year at Northwestern. He's done a good job
- 47:00Speaker 4: there with less. Like him, we talked about Dickert at
- 47:05Speaker 4: Wake Forest. I think he's been pretty good in that regard.
- 47:08Speaker 4: So credit to Northwestern. But yeah, Indiana does not look
- 47:13Speaker 4: like the wagon that they did before. In fact, if
- 47:16Speaker 4: you were to look at the Big Ten right now,
- 47:19Speaker 4: is it clearly Ohio State?
- 47:21Speaker 2: I think so. Yeah. I think so.
- 47:24Speaker 3: Think about what we're saying.
- 47:25Speaker 2: Here you go. Who's more likely to make a playoff run, Iowa, Nebraska,
- 47:30Speaker 2: or UCLA?
- 47:30Speaker 4: Wow.
- 47:32Speaker 2: Oh, Iowa.
- 47:33Speaker 4: Unfortunately, it just feels like everything's lining up.
- 47:40Speaker 2: There's our show title right there, but everything's lining up.
- 47:43Speaker 3: Bear, think about the college football world.
- 47:45Speaker 1: We're in, we're giving credit to Northwestern for keeping it
- 47:48Speaker 1: close on the road to Indiana.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Yeah. Times have changed. Normally that would have been an upset.
- 48:00Speaker 2: Going to learn more about the Hoosiers next two weeks.
- 48:02Speaker 3: But, okay, but again, Stu, this is a good point.
- 48:04Speaker 3: I don't want to.
- 48:05Speaker 4: Because everybody wants to bitch about the current state of
- 48:09Speaker 4: college football. But that sentence right there is why it's awesome.
- 48:13Speaker 4: Look at UCLA. Immediately that program back alive in the
- 48:17Speaker 4: top 25. Impossible without the portal and NIL and all
- 48:21Speaker 4: of that. The rise of Indiana. I mean, we see
- 48:23Speaker 4: it week in and week out. The return of Miami.
- 48:26Speaker 4: If you meet this current era where it's at and
- 48:30Speaker 4: you don't whine and moan and be a little bitch
- 48:32Speaker 4: about it, the avenue to getting good is there and
- 48:37Speaker 4: it's solely on you. There are no excuses because you
- 48:40Speaker 4: see great coaches doing it throughout the country.
- 48:43Speaker 2: It's two different things. It's like you can bitch and
- 48:47Speaker 2: moan and hate the pay-for-play and the NIL and the
- 48:50Speaker 2: portal and conference realignment. All the off-the-field shit is a
- 48:57Speaker 2: completely separate thing. On the field, like, sign me up.
- 49:02Speaker 2: I am foaming at the mouth. All in. State of
- 49:05Speaker 2: play of the game. Athletically, it's never been better. I agree.
- 49:11Speaker 3: Until you get to Sunday.
