- 1:26Speaker 2: Jealous saying this morning to my little lily, you've been
- 1:31Speaker 2: a beetle. Up is Monday morning. Welcome to the aired
- 1:38Speaker 2: out podcast from Flying the Wall Productions, North Main Street
- 1:42Speaker 2: and Berry Where is a frigid, frigid start to the day.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Starting out by saying, listen, if you are thinking about
- 1:51Speaker 2: buying or selling a home, BCK real Estate right here
- 1:55Speaker 2: on North Main Street is your answer. It could be
- 1:58Speaker 2: a home, could be maybe some commercial property, some land.
- 2:03Speaker 2: John Beyondolilo is going to be in here real soon.
- 2:07Speaker 2: We know that having a brokerage with solid local insight
- 2:12Speaker 2: and experiences and absolute must these days, you just got
- 2:15Speaker 2: to have it. So John at Bckrealestate dot com and
- 2:19Speaker 2: I know there's some chat this morning that Fanny and
- 2:23Speaker 2: Freddie are saying the new norm for twenty twenty five
- 2:27Speaker 2: is going to be hovering right around six to six
- 2:30Speaker 2: and a half percent. But we're going to talk about
- 2:32Speaker 2: it with John this week. Also, I'm hoping this week
- 2:36Speaker 2: we're gonna be able to get it on, get him on.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Also coming up this week, why is alcohol losing its luster?
- 2:49Speaker 2: Its link to cancer has really picked up pace the
- 2:56Speaker 2: news on this is just I don't know, man, It
- 2:59Speaker 2: just came out like right before the New year, and
- 3:02Speaker 2: now it is just everywhere. I see it everywhere, not
- 3:10Speaker 2: only the links to cancer, but also kind of a
- 3:16Speaker 2: trending non alcoholic dare I say movement. I know there's
- 3:23Speaker 2: all these new recipes that are everywhere for non alcohol
- 3:27Speaker 2: drinks and even non alcoholic bars that are becoming more popular.
- 3:32Speaker 2: So anyway, this week on Aired Out, we're going to
- 3:36Speaker 2: be chatting about it a little bit, putting that kind
- 3:39Speaker 2: of in the spotlight. Seventy percent of Americans have at
- 3:42Speaker 2: least one drink per week, and more than half of
- 3:45Speaker 2: us are not aware that alcohol is connected to cancer,
- 3:50Speaker 2: myself among them. So Surgeon General is going to be
- 3:55Speaker 2: putting it on the label. We're going to chat with
- 3:59Speaker 2: drugging out alcohol therapist Paul Brody this week about it.
- 4:08Speaker 2: And yeah, Michael's got a great point here. People are
- 4:10Speaker 2: smoking more pot so why is alcohol in the in
- 4:16Speaker 2: the decline? It's, you know, good question. We're going to
- 4:19Speaker 2: get into it. Nine bucks, ladies and gentlemen, nine dollars.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Think about that. Not a lot of money, right, but
- 4:30Speaker 2: that's how much it's going to cost many drivers entering
- 4:34Speaker 2: New York City during peak hours now that the city
- 4:37Speaker 2: has implemented a new congestion pricing toll. Wow, we're going
- 4:46Speaker 2: to talk about that this morning, in the fact that
- 4:50Speaker 2: that Trump has vowed to kill that program when he
- 4:54Speaker 2: takes office, but unclear on when and if and how
- 4:59Speaker 2: really he's going to follow through with that. So we'll
- 5:03Speaker 2: get to more of that in a little bit. But
- 5:05Speaker 2: thanks for tuning in this morning. Thanks for being part
- 5:08Speaker 2: of the aired out experience. We're on the web at
- 5:10Speaker 2: airedoutvt dot com. By the way, you should check it out.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It's all right there everything you need to know, and
- 5:16Speaker 2: of course streamed everywhere you get your podcasts. Thirteen for
- 5:20Speaker 2: a high today. Yes, I'm wearing my favorite sweater. I
- 5:26Speaker 2: would say, I don't know. If i'd say the favorite,
- 5:28Speaker 2: I'd say i'd say top three, top three favorites. Yeah,
- 5:33Speaker 2: so right around thirteen. If you're lucky, you might get
- 5:36Speaker 2: to fifteen this morning, depending on where you are. Mix
- 5:41Speaker 2: the sun and clouds, but either side of zero for
- 5:44Speaker 2: most of us waking up here in the North Country
- 5:46Speaker 2: this morning, I think was what negative four in Newport
- 5:51Speaker 2: warm spot. I think I heard that Manchester is at
- 5:56Speaker 2: a ball me. Eleven degrees this morning, Yes, Chris, congestion pricing.
- 6:08Speaker 2: We'll get into it, I promise you. Let's see tonight
- 6:12Speaker 2: six degrees, mostly cloudy, a few snow showers late tonight,
- 6:16Speaker 2: mainly after midnight. Tuesday cloudy, snow showers mid teens. Tomorrow
- 6:23Speaker 2: I think seventeen for central Vermnus, what they're saying, and
- 6:26Speaker 2: then Wednesday overcast and nine nine degrees for Wednesday. I'll
- 6:44Speaker 2: say this this morning. With temperatures like this, please be
- 6:55Speaker 2: sometimes I get a little warm when I talk about this.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Please be thinking about your animals, if you own them,
- 7:07Speaker 2: farm animals, domestic animals, whatever they may be, whoever they
- 7:15Speaker 2: may be, whether they live outdoors or whether they're indoors outdoors,
- 7:22Speaker 2: just be cognizant of these temperatures. Be aware, think about them.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Make sure that if they are outdoors, no matter what
- 7:31Speaker 2: kind of animals they are, that their water is still
- 7:35Speaker 2: in the liquid state. We've got all our heaters out
- 7:37Speaker 2: there for the chickens, and we check on them. Just
- 7:42Speaker 2: make sure you know that they're okay. It's so important,
- 7:56Speaker 2: all right, all right, birthdays today. There are many top dogs.
- 8:01Speaker 2: One of them is Alice Ferrell on the birthday list
- 8:03Speaker 2: today and Stephen Donahue also celebrate and one Jennifer Steyers,
- 8:08Speaker 2: Bobby Joe Stillado, David Badgeley, Wayne Ladd, Tanya jab Blowski,
- 8:16Speaker 2: Jim jab Lawnski. I think I've got it right that
- 8:20Speaker 2: Polish Rob Leedou, James Roger, Lindsey, j Stephanie Austin, Stuart Primont,
- 8:29Speaker 2: Abby Manning, and Melissa Leforest all celebrating birthdays today on
- 8:33Speaker 2: this National Cuddle Up Day, which I think is appropriate.
- 8:38Speaker 2: This is perfect weather for cuddling. Okay, tonight, couch, I
- 8:44Speaker 2: don't care what you're watching. Snuggle nice warm blanket and
- 8:50Speaker 2: if if you don't have anyone to snuggle with, grab
- 8:53Speaker 2: the gat or the hamster or whatever whoever it is
- 8:57Speaker 2: that you live with. National Technology Day today, National thank
- 9:02Speaker 2: God it's Monday Day today. Really at National Shortbread Day today.
- 9:09Speaker 2: That is the one thing that I have a weakness.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Shortbread is one of my vices. Can't say no, can
- 9:19Speaker 2: only say yes. It's also National Divorce Day today. This
- 9:24Speaker 2: is the number one day of the year for breakups.
- 9:27Speaker 2: There are more breakups apparently on January sixth than any
- 9:34Speaker 2: other day of the year. For some reason. Don't know why,
- 9:37Speaker 2: what is it? Who knows? Yes? So happy divorce Day today.
- 9:43Speaker 2: And let's say this, for those of us that you
- 9:50Speaker 2: know that are planning a divorce in twenty twenty five,
- 9:54Speaker 2: that might be a good thing. That might be something
- 9:56Speaker 2: to celebrate, might be a really happy thing. And there's
- 10:00Speaker 2: plenty of you out there who are divorced and are
- 10:04Speaker 2: thrilled to be. So yeah, celebrate. So some of some
- 10:12Speaker 2: of the top headlines, and I'm going to ring g
- 10:14Speaker 2: here in a second, throw him on. But one of
- 10:17Speaker 2: the big ones is this arctic blast. We've got about
- 10:21Speaker 2: what sixty million people across dozens of states under this
- 10:26Speaker 2: winter weather alert over the weekend from this massive winter
- 10:34Speaker 2: storm that swept across the US from the from the
- 10:38Speaker 2: Rockies all the way to the East coast. Kind of
- 10:41Speaker 2: dodged us here but midwest late Saturday, a foot of
- 10:47Speaker 2: snow in many locations eastern Kansas eighteen inches wow, and
- 10:58Speaker 2: a whole number of lengthy stretches of interstates closed down.
- 11:08Speaker 2: As of early this morning, about ten thousand flights have
- 11:11Speaker 2: been canceled or delayed, more than three hundred thousand customers
- 11:15Speaker 2: without power. No deaths reported as of yet, which is
- 11:20Speaker 2: of course great news. But the snow comes with this
- 11:24Speaker 2: mass of Arctic air, which of course we're feeling up
- 11:27Speaker 2: here in the North Country, but we're a little bit
- 11:29Speaker 2: more used to it than many of these areas. So
- 11:35Speaker 2: temps significantly below average from North Dakota all the way
- 11:41Speaker 2: as far south as the Gulf Coast. It is chilling,
- 11:51Speaker 2: I see. One of the top stories in the news
- 11:54Speaker 2: this morning, authorities have revealed chilling details about the timeline
- 11:58Speaker 2: of events leading up to the New Year's tear attack
- 12:01Speaker 2: in New Orleans. Forty two year old attacker visited the
- 12:10Speaker 2: city not once, but twice in the months leading up
- 12:17Speaker 2: to January and used meta glasses, which I'm unfamiliar with.
- 12:26Speaker 2: I'll tell you now, I don't know what meta glasses are.
- 12:31Speaker 2: Maybe I should. If any of you do, please enlighten me.
- 12:37Speaker 2: I will. I promise you I'll try to stut up,
- 12:40Speaker 2: study up and learn what meta glasses are. But some
- 12:43Speaker 2: kind of technology you put the glasses on and then
- 12:46Speaker 2: you get you get to film where you are, and
- 12:50Speaker 2: that's apparently what this guy did on Bourbon Street to
- 12:57Speaker 2: plan out his attack, which raises a whole hell of
- 13:03Speaker 2: a lot of questions does it not? On this National
- 13:09Speaker 2: Technology Day today, with what's going on, are we putting
- 13:19Speaker 2: too much emphasis into certain areas of technology that maybe
- 13:29Speaker 2: we shouldn't. I don't know. I don't know this And
- 13:32Speaker 2: that was the subject of my Facebook Question of the
- 13:36Speaker 2: Day today about United Airlines announcing that its flights are
- 13:49Speaker 2: now going to have access to Starlink for Wi Fi.
- 13:58Speaker 2: And I wonder how you feel about this. As of
- 14:08Speaker 2: this coming spring, United Airlines will be the first carrier
- 14:15Speaker 2: to say we've got it. We have Starlank on board.
- 14:25Speaker 2: And I'm sure that there's some of you out there
- 14:28Speaker 2: that are like, JAD, that's a great thing. What are
- 14:30Speaker 2: you talking about? How could that be bad? That's wonderful?
- 14:33Speaker 2: More communication zippity do die ah. And I understand that.
- 14:39Speaker 2: I understand that way of thinking too. I do. I'm
- 14:42Speaker 2: not necessarily saying this is a bad thing. I'm just
- 14:44Speaker 2: wondering what you think about it. You know, is this
- 14:47Speaker 2: the kind of focus that we should be putting into technology,
- 14:50Speaker 2: as I wrote this morning, or should more efforts be
- 14:52Speaker 2: invested into technology that focuses on maybe airline safety. It
- 15:01Speaker 2: would be more important to me to hear something like
- 15:05Speaker 2: that in the news that technology was going into. This
- 15:08Speaker 2: is just my opinion that was technology is going more
- 15:11Speaker 2: into safety and less into technology of having a faster
- 15:19Speaker 2: Wi Fi speed while we're cruising at thirty five thousand feet.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Are we that tethered to the Internet that we can't
- 15:35Speaker 2: even you know, sit and read something on a plane
- 15:40Speaker 2: for three or four hours instead of constantly being online.
- 15:45Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean now it's you know, you
- 15:48Speaker 2: can buy the the upgraded Wi Fi package on most planes.
- 16:05Speaker 2: I don't know. I wonder how you feel about this.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I hope you're doing well this morning, and I hope
- 16:19Speaker 2: that you had a delightful weekend.
- 16:23Speaker 3: M M.
- 16:25Speaker 2: I think we got cheat with us. Good morning, buddy,
- 16:28Speaker 2: Good morning.
- 16:28Speaker 3: How are you.
- 16:29Speaker 2: Good weekend for you, Bud?
- 16:32Speaker 4: Yeah, you kept me very busy, so it was a
- 16:34Speaker 4: good All right?
- 16:37Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 16:38Speaker 5: Man?
- 16:38Speaker 2: What do you say about this? This Facebook question of
- 16:41Speaker 2: the day? But you got any you any opinions?
- 16:45Speaker 4: I have zero opinions on that. I just you know,
- 16:50Speaker 4: it could the money be spent anywhere else? You know
- 16:55Speaker 4: what I mean?
- 16:55Speaker 1: Ye?
- 16:57Speaker 4: Could it be spent on safety or anything better than this.
- 17:02Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 17:03Speaker 4: Yeah, that's well, that's what I'm saying, do.
- 17:06Speaker 2: You watch the game last night? Or did you watch
- 17:08Speaker 2: the the eighty second Annual Golden Globe Awards?
- 17:12Speaker 4: No, that Golden Globe that bores me? Yeah, I form
- 17:15Speaker 4: asleep every time I watched that. And then today I
- 17:18Speaker 4: was watching it on the Good Morning Show or whatever
- 17:22Speaker 4: the hell that's called, yah, and they were showing all
- 17:24Speaker 4: these dresses saying, oh my god, this one looks stunning
- 17:27Speaker 4: and that one, and I was like, really, they kind
- 17:29Speaker 4: of look like clowns in those outfits, you know. I
- 17:34Speaker 4: was like, you know, a couple of like Angelina or
- 17:36Speaker 4: Joe Lee's that dress was absolutely gorgeous. But then they
- 17:40Speaker 4: were dresses that I was like, my god, I wouldn't
- 17:42Speaker 4: even wear that on Halloween, you know what I'm saying.
- 17:47Speaker 4: So I wasn't I And that's why I don't watch it,
- 17:50Speaker 4: because first of all, their speeches bore me, and they
- 17:53Speaker 4: go on forever, and yeah, there's so much better things
- 17:57Speaker 4: to watch, like you know, the news, which makes you
- 17:59Speaker 4: so you know, So, I mean, there's not much to
- 18:02Speaker 4: watch out there anymore.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Brutalist best drama. I don't know if you've seen any
- 18:07Speaker 2: of that. I haven't, but apparently it was. It was
- 18:10Speaker 2: the Big Winner last night.
- 18:12Speaker 4: So see what I do is a lot of times
- 18:15Speaker 4: when movies come out in the theater and all that stuff,
- 18:18Speaker 4: I don't go to the theater because see, you have
- 18:20Speaker 4: to understand this is what I do. When I go
- 18:23Speaker 4: to the theater with Jen and I go to watch
- 18:26Speaker 4: a movie, you know, or something's playing at the cinemax
- 18:29Speaker 4: or whatever. As soon as the credits start at the beginning,
- 18:34Speaker 4: I fall asleep because they'd shut the lights down right,
- 18:37Speaker 4: So I fall asleep when the credits start, and for
- 18:40Speaker 4: some bizarre reason, when the credits come up at the end,
- 18:45Speaker 4: I wake up and I look at you, and I say, well.
- 18:49Speaker 3: That was a good movie.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Meanwhile, I have no fucking idea what the movie was about.
- 18:55Speaker 4: So instead of wasting fifteen seventeen dollars at the movies,
- 18:58Speaker 4: plus popcorn and all the other crap, what we do
- 19:01Speaker 4: is we wait until it leaves the theaters, and when
- 19:05Speaker 4: it starts streaming on whatever, then we download the movie
- 19:08Speaker 4: onto our plex server and then we're able to watch
- 19:11Speaker 4: it at home and I can hit pause, go to
- 19:13Speaker 4: the bathroom, come back and hit pause, go to the kitchen.
- 19:17Speaker 4: So movies that came out this month or last month
- 19:21Speaker 4: or whatever. I'm not gonna see for another six months. Yeah,
- 19:25Speaker 4: and then I'll put it on and if I hate it,
- 19:27Speaker 4: I can shut it off and not spend fifteen seventeen dollars.
- 19:30Speaker 2: I understand. I understand to concern that the expensive chie
- 19:35Speaker 2: They're not that fifteen to seventeen away. Come on, they're
- 19:38Speaker 2: like ten bucks.
- 19:39Speaker 4: Man go to Burlington.
- 19:40Speaker 3: They are.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Wow. Listen, you're gonna be with me Thursday. What the
- 19:44Speaker 2: hell's going on this week?
- 19:46Speaker 4: I am. I even posted some stuff letting people know
- 19:50Speaker 4: that Thursday, I'm gonna eat you for breakfast.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Yeah, heard about that.
- 19:54Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna pull out some little secret
- 19:59Speaker 4: stuff that you've been doing lately that I need to
- 20:02Speaker 4: call you out on.
- 20:03Speaker 2: All right, And I can't wait to share our new
- 20:09Speaker 2: friend here in the studio. I'm so excited about that.
- 20:13Speaker 4: Oh my gosh, that's great. And wait until people hear
- 20:18Speaker 4: the stories of just getting that new friend. Yeah, it
- 20:23Speaker 4: was hysterical. You had me peeing in my pants at
- 20:26Speaker 4: your stupidity and your rhetoric that I just need to
- 20:29Speaker 4: share it with everybody.
- 20:30Speaker 2: Stupidity would be borderline stupidity would be jed being outside
- 20:37Speaker 2: this time of year with this arctic blast that's going
- 20:39Speaker 2: on right now, or el Nina, el Nina, whatever the
- 20:41Speaker 2: hell it's called the polar vortex whatever.
- 20:46Speaker 4: Wearing shorts, Yeah, well he wears shorts all year, so
- 20:51Speaker 4: the only time he doesn't wear shorts is when he
- 20:54Speaker 4: snow blows. But if he could wear shorts while snowblowing,
- 20:57Speaker 4: he did it once, but he would do that. But
- 21:01Speaker 4: like last night, we went over to the neighbor's house
- 21:04Speaker 4: to play D and D and it was freaking zero
- 21:07Speaker 4: degrees right, and I'm bundled up. I had a turtleneck
- 21:11Speaker 4: on with a sweater over it, with a scarf around me,
- 21:14Speaker 4: with my dolphin's hat on, with gloves and sweatpants, and
- 21:18Speaker 4: I'm walking next door freezing my ass off with the
- 21:22Speaker 4: scarf covering my face because I have asthma so I
- 21:25Speaker 4: can't get the winded. And Jed's walking next to me
- 21:28Speaker 4: in this like spring jacket and a pair of shorts,
- 21:31Speaker 4: and I'm looking at him, going, I hate you. Yeah,
- 21:35Speaker 4: I mean, anybody looking out the window would have been
- 21:37Speaker 4: hysterical laughing.
- 21:38Speaker 2: Something very wrong with that guy.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Well, yeah, he married me, so something's definitely wrong.
- 21:44Speaker 2: With that guy. Yeah, listen. I can't wait to have
- 21:48Speaker 2: you on Thursday. Behave yourself all right, No, all right,
- 21:53Speaker 2: I'll talk to you.
- 21:54Speaker 3: So why would I.
- 21:55Speaker 4: I'm gonna I'm gonna post so many teasers between now
- 21:58Speaker 4: and Thursday, So buddy, keep looking up my feed because
- 22:02Speaker 4: I'm going to be posting so many teasers about things
- 22:06Speaker 4: that you did on the way to get our friend.
- 22:09Speaker 4: And you know what I'm talking about North n DELI.
- 22:12Speaker 4: I'm not going to say anything more. Oh it's coming.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Out, all right. I can't wait.
- 22:19Speaker 4: Wait all the way to the time we get back
- 22:21Speaker 4: to my house at the end of the trip. It
- 22:22Speaker 4: was interesting posting teasers. So I'm gonna definitely I'm people
- 22:27Speaker 4: listen up on Thursday morning at nine o'clock because I'm
- 22:30Speaker 4: going to let it go.
- 22:31Speaker 2: You can't make this stuff up. Thank you, gee, thanks
- 22:33Speaker 2: for coming on, buddy. I love you to pieces. Listen.
- 22:36Speaker 2: Don't forget today's Monday. I know that today's Monday, but Wednesday,
- 22:41Speaker 2: this coming Wednesday is Wellness Wednesday. Over at the well
- 22:46Speaker 2: Space building on Summer Street right behind us our studios.
- 22:50Speaker 2: Here is this community based, holistic approach to self care
- 22:55Speaker 2: that they Washington County Mental Health does every Wednesday, well
- 22:59Speaker 2: that every single Wednesday, but like the first couple of
- 23:02Speaker 2: Wednesdays of every month, and it is back. This is
- 23:05Speaker 2: an opportunity for you to have acupuncture, acupressure, some mindfulness, meditation,
- 23:12Speaker 2: maybe a hot cup of tea, a massage, a chair massage,
- 23:17Speaker 2: whatever it may be, sound healing. They do it all
- 23:20Speaker 2: wellness Wednesday. Keep watch on the page. You're going to
- 23:23Speaker 2: be seeing the advertisement for that. And we are so
- 23:27Speaker 2: excited to partner up with Washington County Mental Health continuing
- 23:32Speaker 2: as a presenting sponsor and just pushing this goodness. It's
- 23:36Speaker 2: what it is for our community. And it is the
- 23:40Speaker 2: day after tomorrow. The time would be right now if
- 23:43Speaker 2: you would like to set up a reservation, just reserve
- 23:47Speaker 2: a spot. It's absolutely free. Everything is free. Four seven nine,
- 23:51Speaker 2: four zero, five to five. You just call Robin and
- 23:55Speaker 2: she'll get you. She'll get you on the books. Do
- 24:00Speaker 2: we have mister awtry.
- 24:01Speaker 3: With us right here, buddy. What's that man?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Buddy? What what's going on with the Steelers? What happened?
- 24:08Speaker 3: Listen? Do you know why the Bengals feet stink so bad?
- 24:12Speaker 2: Why?
- 24:13Speaker 6: Because they kicked our butt? That's why they just straight
- 24:16Speaker 6: up kicked our tail. I personally think it's our offensive
- 24:21Speaker 6: line and lack of receivers. We can't really stretch the
- 24:27Speaker 6: ball down field if Pickens isn't catching the ball, and
- 24:30Speaker 6: Pickings can't do the whole, he can't carry the team.
- 24:32Speaker 3: So yeah, he and Friarmouth they're doing. They're doing the
- 24:36Speaker 3: best they can.
- 24:36Speaker 6: We really need another receiver that's out on the field
- 24:41Speaker 6: and dependable that we can throw to. Who who is
- 24:45Speaker 6: a deep ball threat across the middle of the field
- 24:48Speaker 6: threat either one and did to give Russell some options.
- 24:52Speaker 6: But our offensive line, man just stunk. I mean, they
- 24:55Speaker 6: didn't protect. They haven't protected the last several weeks. Russell's
- 24:59Speaker 6: been fumbling the ball. Partly that's on him, but partly
- 25:02Speaker 6: because he's trying to make something out of nothing when
- 25:05Speaker 6: when the line's not protected. So we just stunk man
- 25:09Speaker 6: and it and I'm I mean, I got to the
- 25:12Speaker 6: point I got on.
- 25:12Speaker 3: Facebook because I couldn't watch the rest of him. It
- 25:16Speaker 3: was just awful. Man.
- 25:18Speaker 2: I know that created a good amount of stress in
- 25:20Speaker 2: in the the the Autry family, But did you see
- 25:25Speaker 2: the photos that are beautiful photos that I sent you
- 25:28Speaker 2: off my nephews at that game?
- 25:32Speaker 3: You're telling the one where they're holding hands in the bathroom.
- 25:34Speaker 6: Yes, at the urinals, I would call the snow Picks beautiful.
- 25:44Speaker 6: It may be how they treated the Chiefs car but yes, man,
- 25:49Speaker 6: I tell you, Pittsburgh is a beautiful place, dude. It's
- 25:52Speaker 6: a gorgeous, gorgeous place. So especially I still would call
- 25:56Speaker 6: it hines Field. I'm not off for this acressure or whatever.
- 25:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Right, speaking of the Chiefs, Broncos crushing him thirty eight zip.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Oh my god, buddy.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Well you did you hear what the Chiefs did?
- 26:10Speaker 2: Talk to me.
- 26:11Speaker 6: They went and got a and got a fifth grade
- 26:13Speaker 6: Pop Warner team to take the field for them so
- 26:15Speaker 6: they can all take a break.
- 26:16Speaker 3: And that's how Denver won.
- 26:20Speaker 6: And uh, I mean I listen, listen, Dipper's good, they
- 26:24Speaker 6: got it. Bo Nick is a good quarterback who's gonna
- 26:26Speaker 6: be good for a long long time. Court Sutton is
- 26:29Speaker 6: a good receiver. He would he would look really good
- 26:31Speaker 6: and black and gold, That's all I'm saying.
- 26:34Speaker 3: But uh, but man, he you.
- 26:36Speaker 6: Know, that's what happens when you start your third string,
- 26:42Speaker 6: you you know, and it's smart. Kansas City's clinched the
- 26:45Speaker 6: first round by they've got the number one seed.
- 26:47Speaker 3: Why wouldn't you rest those guys for the playoffs.
- 26:50Speaker 6: Especially with especially with my homes flirting with an injury,
- 26:54Speaker 6: you know, right, why not give them a little bit.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Of a break?
- 26:57Speaker 2: Patriots in the Jets and these Saints all looking all
- 27:02Speaker 2: looking for a new head coach? What were you were
- 27:07Speaker 2: you surprised by this yesterday?
- 27:09Speaker 3: I was surprised.
- 27:10Speaker 6: I mean, listen, I think the nail in the coffin
- 27:13Speaker 6: for Mao was losing to the Jets. I mean, nobody
- 27:16Speaker 6: loses to the Jets, right, I think that was the
- 27:20Speaker 6: nail in the coffin for him.
- 27:22Speaker 3: But but I am a little surprised by it because
- 27:24Speaker 3: he was.
- 27:25Speaker 2: One year yep, but three sixteen went over the over
- 27:28Speaker 2: the Bills, Yeah, he.
- 27:31Speaker 6: I mean he had one year with a rookie quarterback,
- 27:34Speaker 6: and I think, man, I thought Craft would give him
- 27:37Speaker 6: a little bit longer of an extension, you know what
- 27:40Speaker 6: I mean. They're nowhere near a playoff caliber team.
- 27:45Speaker 5: And.
- 27:47Speaker 6: But man, I'm a little shocked. But when you lose
- 27:50Speaker 6: to the Jets, I mean, you gotta beat the Jets, man,
- 27:54Speaker 6: you gotta beat the Jets are just awful, and you
- 27:57Speaker 6: gotta beat the Jets.
- 27:58Speaker 3: You can't lose to the Jets and expect to keep job.
- 28:00Speaker 2: Surprised by the the news of the Saints looking for
- 28:03Speaker 2: a new head coach.
- 28:05Speaker 3: No, I'm not surprised by that. And and you know what,
- 28:10Speaker 3: they they too really.
- 28:12Speaker 6: Need a quarterback. They they kind of need to overhaul
- 28:15Speaker 6: their team. And uh it, honestly wouldn't surprise me if
- 28:20Speaker 6: they went out and picked up a Jared Mayo to
- 28:23Speaker 6: come on their staff at minimum.
- 28:24Speaker 3: But but they.
- 28:25Speaker 6: They need, uh, they need an offensive minded, offensively minded coach.
- 28:31Speaker 3: They you know, they need to reach out to somebody.
- 28:35Speaker 3: They need to reach out.
- 28:36Speaker 6: To somebody like a Mike McDaniels to at least be
- 28:38Speaker 6: an offensive coordinator, you know what I mean.
- 28:42Speaker 3: It also wouldn't surprise me if what's the guy, man,
- 28:48Speaker 3: he's he's the son of a coach. He was the
- 28:49Speaker 3: head coach of the Ravens for a bit.
- 28:51Speaker 2: You're asking the wrong guy. You're asking.
- 28:54Speaker 6: I can't.
- 28:55Speaker 3: I'm drawing a mind blank right now. Man, It's Monday.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Did you stay up Did you stay up late last
- 28:59Speaker 2: night to watch the rap in the regular season with
- 29:03Speaker 2: the Lions destroying the Vikings thirty one to nine.
- 29:07Speaker 6: No, JD, I'm I'm old, and uh and and man
- 29:10Speaker 6: about not nine thirty.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Man, my brain doesn't work anymore.
- 29:13Speaker 6: And uh and we we were we were texting each
- 29:16Speaker 6: other and and Becca was like, JD needs to be
- 29:19Speaker 6: careful because he doesn't know what kind of text messages
- 29:21Speaker 6: he's gonna get from you after nine thirty.
- 29:23Speaker 2: So listen. Uh, it's Becca that doesn't understand what kind
- 29:26Speaker 2: of text message is you're gonna get I sent Look
- 29:29Speaker 2: at the pictures I sent you, all right, so I'll
- 29:32Speaker 2: throw that right back.
- 29:36Speaker 3: Did you watch that? Did you watch that video about
- 29:38Speaker 3: the Cherryville shooters?
- 29:39Speaker 6: No, talk to me, dude, all right, Like, when listen,
- 29:46Speaker 6: you won't proof that North Carolina has rednecks?
- 29:49Speaker 3: Go watch that video?
- 29:51Speaker 2: Is this the one you sent me?
- 29:53Speaker 3: Yes?
- 29:53Speaker 6: Okay, the one I sent you about the Terryville shoot
- 29:56Speaker 6: Go watch it.
- 29:58Speaker 3: Just go watch it.
- 29:59Speaker 6: You listen when you think North Carolina don't have rednecks, man,
- 30:03Speaker 6: this is absolute, verifiable proof, Like this will prove that
- 30:07Speaker 6: Bigfoot really does exist and in North Carolina really has rednecks.
- 30:11Speaker 3: So but uh, no, man, listen, I'm pulling for the lions.
- 30:17Speaker 6: I love the lions. I'm pulling for the Bills. I
- 30:22Speaker 6: just you know, they're my sentimental favorite. Never won, They've
- 30:26Speaker 6: never won the Super Bowl. They've had all so many
- 30:30Speaker 6: years that they were close, and so many years they
- 30:32Speaker 6: were in misery.
- 30:35Speaker 3: And I love Dan Campbell.
- 30:37Speaker 6: I would hope that my kid would get a coach
- 30:40Speaker 6: like Dan Campbell to play for.
- 30:42Speaker 3: And I just I love everything he does. I love
- 30:48Speaker 3: how he coaches.
- 30:49Speaker 6: I mean, if you go watch the postgame interview, I
- 30:52Speaker 6: mean the post game locker room celebrations, Like man, those
- 30:55Speaker 6: dudes are locked in. They don't give a care about
- 30:57Speaker 6: anybody else. They got a plan and a process. I
- 31:01Speaker 6: want Detroit to win. It's a Detroit deserves a super Bowl.
- 31:04Speaker 6: It's been a long, long long time, and I'm I'm
- 31:10Speaker 6: pulling for Troy.
- 31:10Speaker 3: And I want Buffalo to win one too.
- 31:12Speaker 5: Man.
- 31:12Speaker 3: I it's sentimental favorite. I love Josh Allen.
- 31:16Speaker 6: They got rid of Deshaun Diggs and and everybody myself included,
- 31:21Speaker 6: thought they would crumble a little bit, and they've just
- 31:23Speaker 6: been obliterating everybody all season. I would love to see
- 31:26Speaker 6: a Buffalo Detroit super Bowl. I just I would love
- 31:31Speaker 6: to see it happen. I'd be happy with either one
- 31:34Speaker 6: of those teams.
- 31:34Speaker 3: Winning. I don't Steelers aren't ready to win the super Bus.
- 31:38Speaker 6: Much as I'm diehard Black and Gold, everybody knows a
- 31:41Speaker 6: diehard Steeler fans are real as Steeler fans, So we're
- 31:44Speaker 6: not ready.
- 31:45Speaker 3: We've We've got.
- 31:46Speaker 6: Some offensive pieces that need to come into play. I
- 31:50Speaker 6: love our offensive coordinator, I love the way he thinks,
- 31:53Speaker 6: but we've got a little ways to go before before
- 31:56Speaker 6: we get there. Definitely don't want the Ravens to win it.
- 31:58Speaker 6: That's pro show. Ravens need to stay in Baltimore. That's
- 32:01Speaker 6: what they need to do and eat some crabs. That's
- 32:04Speaker 6: It's all Pittsburgh, man. I mean, I'm I can't pull
- 32:07Speaker 6: for Baltimore. I want De Troy and Buffalo to get it.
- 32:09Speaker 2: My man, I know that you're enjoying the temperatures down
- 32:12Speaker 2: there in North Carolina. We're at We're getting up to
- 32:16Speaker 2: thirteen today for a high and nine degrees tomorrow for
- 32:19Speaker 2: a high, So you enjoying it.
- 32:24Speaker 3: That's what everybody's acting like down here.
- 32:26Speaker 6: It's gonna be Our highs are gonna be in mid
- 32:28Speaker 6: thirties to forty, and low's are gonna be in the
- 32:31Speaker 6: twenties and the team so everybody around here.
- 32:34Speaker 3: Thinks that we're under snowm again.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Yes, yes we have. We have friends and family in
- 32:41Speaker 2: Roanoke and they're just they think the world is coming
- 32:44Speaker 2: to an end.
- 32:46Speaker 3: Well, well and they're getting they're getting snow. They've got snow.
- 32:50Speaker 3: Rono got hit last night. So yeah, I wonder how
- 32:53Speaker 3: many inches they got.
- 32:54Speaker 2: But it'll be all melted by tomorrow.
- 32:57Speaker 3: Yeah, it will be melted by tomorrow. I know. I
- 33:00Speaker 3: just talk to my parents. I wanted to become a
- 33:02Speaker 3: church with me this coming Sunday, and and my.
- 33:04Speaker 6: Mom's like, if it doesn't snow, I'm like, Mom, it's
- 33:07Speaker 6: it's not gonna snow.
- 33:09Speaker 3: Like it's not.
- 33:11Speaker 2: You know what I love about you, Autry, is you
- 33:14Speaker 2: still got an eight oh two cell phone?
- 33:17Speaker 3: Man? You bet that? You bet that?
- 33:19Speaker 2: I mean, that's awesome.
- 33:21Speaker 3: Listen, I'm not giving it up.
- 33:23Speaker 6: I got my Vermont license plates hanging up in my
- 33:25Speaker 6: office in my garage.
- 33:27Speaker 3: You you ain't get man. I'm I still bleed a
- 33:30Speaker 3: little green in me. You know what I'm saying.
- 33:32Speaker 2: I still bleed a little green in me, and in
- 33:35Speaker 2: golden black.
- 33:36Speaker 3: That's right, black and gold.
- 33:37Speaker 6: Yeah, we're coming back to Vermont on vacation at the
- 33:41Speaker 6: end of May beginning of June next year.
- 33:42Speaker 3: We literally can't wait.
- 33:44Speaker 2: I can't wait.
- 33:45Speaker 6: Yeah, man, I can't wait to see you either. So
- 33:49Speaker 6: we we gotta we gotta do something. We gotta give
- 33:51Speaker 6: a little corruption while we're there, you know what I mean,
- 33:53Speaker 6: get a little bit of trouble.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Please say, I got a microphone waiting for you. Man.
- 33:59Speaker 6: But but anyway, man, we love you, guys and man,
- 34:04Speaker 6: y'all stay warm up there, okay.
- 34:06Speaker 2: Wait, well, thanks, buddy.
- 34:07Speaker 3: I love you, man, love you too, you buddy. God
- 34:09Speaker 3: bless all.
- 34:09Speaker 2: Right, God bless Chris Awtrey this morning with us just
- 34:14Speaker 2: wrapping up the regular season last night, a lot of action.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Cardinals beat the fifty nine ers or the forty nine
- 34:22Speaker 2: ers for rather forty seven to twenty four. Chargers got
- 34:26Speaker 2: the Raiders thirty four to twenty, Jets over the Dolphins
- 34:29Speaker 2: thirty two to twenty, thirty to twenty five. Win for
- 34:33Speaker 2: the Seahawks over the Rams, Bucks over the Saints twenty
- 34:37Speaker 2: seven to nineteen. As we said, the Pats beat the
- 34:39Speaker 2: Bills twenty three sixteen. Jared Mayo without a job though. Wow,
- 34:48Speaker 2: close one for the Bears, but they gut by the
- 34:50Speaker 2: Packers twenty four to twenty two. Commanders take the Cowboys
- 34:54Speaker 2: out twenty three to nineteen. Other winners the Colts, the Eagles,
- 34:58Speaker 2: the Texans end the Panthers, and the playoff bracket and
- 35:03Speaker 2: schedule is all posted up this morning on the aired
- 35:07Speaker 2: out page. And how about that Ravens game. Lamar Jackson
- 35:10Speaker 2: forgot to mention this to Chris becoming the first NFL
- 35:15Speaker 2: player with four thousand passing and nine hundred rushing yards
- 35:21Speaker 2: in a season. Unbelievable. Listen, we have I hope you
- 35:30Speaker 2: had a fantastic weekend. I know that there's just a
- 35:35Speaker 2: lot of stuff going on. There's a lot of good
- 35:39Speaker 2: stuff going on. There's a lot of crappy stuff in
- 35:42Speaker 2: the news. Well aware of what happened over at Market
- 35:49Speaker 2: thirty two price Chopper of that whole story, which has
- 35:55Speaker 2: been posted up a couple of different times on the
- 35:59Speaker 2: aired out page. There's some great concern in our community
- 36:07Speaker 2: about some of these outlaws. And I don't know if
- 36:14Speaker 2: you've been paying attention. I don't know if you've been
- 36:16Speaker 2: seeing the press releases about not only this this dude,
- 36:20Speaker 2: but also this lady from Massachusetts up here riding around
- 36:29Speaker 2: in a you know, a subru that looks very much
- 36:34Speaker 2: like the one by the way that crashed into market
- 36:37Speaker 2: thirty two, three five in the morning, right through the
- 36:41Speaker 2: front door. Guy taking off on foot. I'm just you know,
- 36:53Speaker 2: just like you. My first reaction to this was thank god,
- 36:57Speaker 2: it was three forty five in the morning and no
- 37:00Speaker 2: one was hurt. That area, as we all know, is
- 37:06Speaker 2: so so busy with foot traffic, and I'm just glad
- 37:09Speaker 2: nobody got hurt. It was It was an interesting weekend,
- 37:21Speaker 2: it really was. It was a good one for you.
- 37:24Speaker 2: But man, if you see what's uh, what's happening in
- 37:28Speaker 2: the news, ah around here, there's some really disheartening stuff,
- 37:36Speaker 2: and there's a lot of us who spend time on
- 37:44Speaker 2: social media playing the blame game and pointing fingers, and man,
- 37:54Speaker 2: this is a a lot of This is the a
- 37:58Speaker 2: sign of the times. Man, it's nobody's got all the answers.
- 38:02Speaker 2: Nobody has a quick fix to to this type of crime.
- 38:08Speaker 2: It's a complicated thing, and we all hear and see
- 38:13Speaker 2: on social media. Well, if the police would just do
- 38:15Speaker 2: their job, man, that is that's a shallow way of
- 38:22Speaker 2: thinking in my opinion, because it is so much more
- 38:25Speaker 2: complicated than that. This dude almost ran over three Bertolin cops. Well,
- 38:37Speaker 2: they should have shot out as tires and they should
- 38:39Speaker 2: have done this and should have You know, we could
- 38:41Speaker 2: we could sit and play Monday Morning quarterback all day
- 38:47Speaker 2: on stuff like this. But unless you're there, and unless
- 38:54Speaker 2: you're part of the police force yourself, please have a
- 39:02Speaker 2: little bit of pause here and think before you you
- 39:07Speaker 2: write something that might be a little too simple and
- 39:16Speaker 2: maybe a little too ignorant. They're doing the best they
- 39:23Speaker 2: can with that story and many many more that are
- 39:31Speaker 2: stacked up, and frankly, I don't know how they do it,
- 39:39Speaker 2: you know, And I might even say, you know, if
- 39:44Speaker 2: you if you think that you've got some great answers
- 39:47Speaker 2: as to the solution onto how to combat crime, write
- 39:53Speaker 2: to your legislator, join the police force, vote, put it
- 40:09Speaker 2: in a well thought out explanation, write something down, publish it,
- 40:22Speaker 2: send it to every legislator that you can, and every
- 40:26Speaker 2: police department that you can. But try to be insightful
- 40:33Speaker 2: and try to not have so much emotion and just
- 40:39Speaker 2: red hot opinion. I don't know, man, I just I
- 40:46Speaker 2: give these police officers big props for what they're dealing with.
- 40:54Speaker 2: And again I'm just I mean first and foremost, and
- 41:02Speaker 2: you have to say this. I'm just glad that no
- 41:04Speaker 2: one was injured in that situation there in the front
- 41:10Speaker 2: of Market thirty two. It's one of the biggest stories
- 41:13Speaker 2: trending right now this morning, and has been since yesterday
- 41:22Speaker 2: three on Sunday morning. Amazing. So yeah, and Massi's asking
- 41:33Speaker 2: about this. The first congestion pricing plan in the United
- 41:42Speaker 2: States went into effect yesterday, but drivers heading into a
- 41:46Speaker 2: large swath of Manhattan paying nine dollars during peak hours.
- 41:52Speaker 2: This program is meant to reduce notoriously gridlocked traffic and
- 42:00Speaker 2: encourage the use of public transit, culmination of an effort
- 42:05Speaker 2: first proposed by Michael Bloomberg back in two thousand and seven,
- 42:12Speaker 2: and now it looks like it's flying. The pricing zone
- 42:16Speaker 2: extends from the bottom of Central Park to the island's
- 42:20Speaker 2: southern tip, with the charges dropping by seventy five percent
- 42:25Speaker 2: during overnight hours. City officials say the toll is expected
- 42:28Speaker 2: to generate five hundred million dollars in revenue annually over
- 42:38Speaker 2: the first three years and will be reinvested into public
- 42:46Speaker 2: transportation infrastructure. Interesting, I'm talking about one of the most
- 42:54Speaker 2: densely populated areas in the country. Manhattan. Wow, this is
- 43:07Speaker 2: going to be interesting to see what happens and see
- 43:10Speaker 2: how Trump is going to respond to this. Today is
- 43:19Speaker 2: the last day of the public to pay their respects
- 43:22Speaker 2: in Atlanta to former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away
- 43:26Speaker 2: at one hundred years old last week. His casket is
- 43:29Speaker 2: going to be flown to Washington, d C. Where he
- 43:33Speaker 2: will lie in state at the US Capitol until his
- 43:38Speaker 2: official funeral service on Thursday this week. Today, Congress is
- 43:46Speaker 2: going to be certifying President elect Donald Trump's presidency victory
- 43:54Speaker 2: in Congress, making it official today. Kamala Harris will preside
- 44:01Speaker 2: over the counting of electoral votes for each state and
- 44:08Speaker 2: will have to formally certify her own loss and Trump's victory.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Today's certification marks the four year four year anniversary of
- 44:21Speaker 2: the January sixth riot at the US Capitol. Four years
- 44:31Speaker 2: does it not seem like it was yesterday? Though I
- 44:35Speaker 2: know the media won't let us forget about it, but still.
- 44:40Speaker 2: Michael J. Fox, Hillary Clinton, Magic Johnson, and Bono were
- 44:45Speaker 2: among the nineteen awarded Presidential Medals of Freedom by Joe Biden. Yeah, yes, Glen,
- 45:00Speaker 2: and you're right. I meant to say insurrection. World News
- 45:07Speaker 2: Ukraine launches an offensive in the Russian region of Kursk,
- 45:15Speaker 2: saying you're getting what you deserved. Meanwhile, in the world,
- 45:28Speaker 2: people apparently are ignoring travel warnings and visiting Afghanistan. Have
- 45:37Speaker 2: you seen this? Have you read about this? Have you
- 45:39Speaker 2: seen this in the news? Have you seen the tourists
- 45:44Speaker 2: taking photos in Afghanistan where the Taliban is saying, hey,
- 45:53Speaker 2: we welcome foreign travelers, no thanks. I can think of
- 46:03Speaker 2: a billion and one places that I would rather go
- 46:09Speaker 2: on vacation than Afghanistan, maybe even a billion in two. Wow.
- 46:24Speaker 2: I just don't I don't understand it. There's a listen,
- 46:26Speaker 2: there's a lot of things that I don't understand. That's
- 46:32Speaker 2: definitely one of them, right there. All right, honey, let's
- 46:40Speaker 2: book that. Let's book that winter vacation. It's ten degrees
- 46:46Speaker 2: up here in Vermont. You want to go to the Caribbean,
- 46:51Speaker 2: you want to go to the Mediterranean, see a little
- 46:56Speaker 2: bit of Italy maybe.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Or.
- 47:03Speaker 2: I don't know what about Afghanistan? I don't get it.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I will probably spend the rest of my day today
- 47:15Speaker 2: trying to figure that one out.
- 47:16Speaker 5: I just can't.
