- Lucas: Ciao Luna, bentornata! Ready for another walk together? Luna: Ciao Lucas! Yes, I love our walks. Where are we going today? Lucas: Today we're describing a park in Italian. We've done walks, scenery, and even a lake — but a park has its own special features. Luna: Oh, good! I remember we learned 'C'è una panchina' and 'Ci sono degli alberi' before. Can we use those? Lucas: For sure. Those are perfect. Let's start with a classic: C'è una panchina. That means 'There is a bench.' Repeat after me: C'è una panchina. Luna: C'è una panchina. That's easy. I can picture it. Lucas: Exactly. Now, if there are multiple trees, we say: Ci sono degli alberi. 'There are some trees.' Try it. Luna: Ci sono degli alberi. I remember that one from episode 115! Lucas: You do! Great memory. Now let's add something new. Vedo una fontana. 'I see a fountain.' Vedo — I see, una fontana — a fountain. Say it. Luna: Vedo una fontana. That's pretty. Vedo una fontana. Lucas: Good. Now imagine the grass. Il prato è verde. 'The lawn is green.' Prato is lawn or meadow. Repeat. Luna: Il prato è verde. Oh, I like that. Verde sounds so Italian. Lucas: It does. Now let's describe the park itself. Il parco è grande. 'The park is big.' Grande means big. Luna: Il parco è grande. So if it's small, we say piccolo? Lucas: Exactly! You're catching on. Now, let's walk along a path. Camminiamo sul sentiero. 'We walk on the path.' Sentiero is path. Try. Luna: Camminiamo sul sentiero. That's a mouthful! Camminiamo sul sentiero. Lucas: Perfect. So let's hear all six phrases together. I'll say each once, then you repeat. Luna: Sounds good. Let's do it. Lucas: C'è una panchina. Luna: C'è una panchina. Lucas: Ci sono degli alberi. Luna: Ci sono degli alberi. Lucas: Vedo una fontana. Luna: Vedo una fontana. Lucas: Il prato è verde. Luna: Il prato è verde. Lucas: Il parco è grande. Luna: Il parco è grande. Lucas: Camminiamo sul sentiero. Luna: Camminiamo sul sentiero. Lucas: Now imagine we're in a real park. I'll describe it, and you translate in your head. C'è una panchina sotto un albero. Ci sono degli alberi grandi. Vedo una fontana al centro. Il prato è verde. Il parco è grande. Camminiamo sul sentiero. Luna: I got it! There's a bench under a tree, there are big trees, I see a fountain in the center, the lawn is green, the park is big, we walk on the path. Lucas: Perfecto! You're a natural. Luna: Thanks!
