Speaker 1: as it related to their past. Question not at all
• 1:09
Speaker 1: as it related to other women? Is that right? Answer?
• 1:11
Speaker 1: Not that I can recall. Question did Miss Maxwell never
• 1:15
Speaker 1: express concern that any of mister Epstein's activities, any of
• 1:18
Speaker 1: mister Epstein's activities may have been criminal or ethically problematic.
• 1:23
Speaker 1: Answer not that I can recall. Question I imagine the

Speaker 1: discuss her own past romantic relationship with mister Epstein? Answer yes.
• 1:35
Speaker 1: Question what was the general nature of how she characterized
• 1:38
Speaker 1: her previous relationship? Answer boyfriend girlfriend. Question never more serious
• 1:43
Speaker 1: than that as far as you remember. Answer I believe
• 1:46
Speaker 1: it was a serious relationship. Question did she ever describe
• 1:49
Speaker 1: the reason for their breakup? Answer? She described it at
• 1:52
Speaker 1: one point. It was on her fortieth birthday. I think
• 1:54
Speaker 1: they broke up with her at that point. Question did
• 1:58
Speaker 1: she have a perspective that you can recall as to
• 2:01
Speaker 1: the reason for the breakup or what mister Epstein said
• 2:03
Speaker 1: the reason for the breakup was? Answer? Yeah, I mean
• 2:07
Speaker 1: I believe she mentioned, you know, that she was getting
• 2:09
Speaker 1: too old for him. Question do you recall and this
• 2:12
Speaker 1: is going back a little bit, but do you recall
• 2:14
Speaker 1: whether from her point of view, if she was hurt
• 2:16
Speaker 1: by that. I'm surprised by that. Said, that's perfectly in
• 2:19
Speaker 1: line with what I know about Jeffrey do you know
• 2:22
Speaker 1: anything about her reaction to that? Answer? I would be guessing,
• 2:26
Speaker 1: but I would assume she was hurt by that question.
• 2:30
Speaker 1: No specific recollection of anything she might have said or
• 2:33
Speaker 1: how specifically she reacted in conversations with you. Answer nothing
• 2:37
Speaker 1: I can specifically recall. Question did miss Maxwell ever express
• 2:40
Speaker 1: concern that her own actions with respect to mister Epstein
• 2:44
Speaker 1: may have been criminal or ethically problematic? Answer not that
• 2:47
Speaker 1: I can recall. Question did miss Maxwell ever say that
• 2:51
Speaker 1: she had engaged in sexual activity with mister Epstein and
• 2:54
Speaker 1: other women? Answer not that I can recall. Question you described,
• 2:58
Speaker 1: I think, in general terms, the nature of your relationship
• 3:01
Speaker 1: with mister Epstein over the course of your relationship with
• 3:05
Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell, and that was not very much. It sounds
• 3:08
Speaker 1: like we describe maybe three interactions that you can recall.
• 3:11
Speaker 1: Is that ballpark fair? Answer? Yeah? Three or four? Question?
• 3:16
Speaker 1: And one of those was one on one and that's
• 3:19
Speaker 1: the meeting we previously discussed. Answer yes, question, what do
• 3:23
Speaker 1: you recall about the nature of the other two or three? Answer?
• 3:27
Speaker 1: So they're just brief encounters like on the street, or
• 3:30
Speaker 1: one was in New York and one was in St. Bart's.
• 3:33
Speaker 1: Question does the dinner in Hong Kong. Is that being
• 3:35
Speaker 1: counted as one of these two or three? Answer? Yes,
• 3:38
Speaker 1: one of those four for that I can recall. Question Okay,
• 3:42
Speaker 1: what was the Saint Bart's interaction? Answer? I was literally
• 3:45
Speaker 1: walking down the street. Question in town? Answer in town?
• 3:49
Speaker 1: Question what did you generally know or believe if anything
• 3:52
Speaker 1: about Epstein's personal life? Answer? Not much? Question did you
• 3:57
Speaker 1: know or hear at all about whether he was dad? Answer?
• 4:01
Speaker 1: On the two occasions that I ran into him, he
• 4:03
Speaker 1: had someone who I assumed was a girlfriend with him,
• 4:06
Speaker 1: it was the same female each time. Question I'm sorry
• 4:09
Speaker 1: the two were insane parts? And what was the other?
• 4:12
Speaker 1: Answer in New York? Question new York got it? Can
• 4:15
Speaker 1: you describe anything? Can you recall about that person? Answer?
• 4:19
Speaker 1: She looked like a model type, appeared to be in
• 4:21
Speaker 1: her lower twenties. Eastern European, I believe. Question and did
• 4:25
Speaker 1: mister Epstein introduce you to her? Answer? I think so.
• 4:29
Speaker 1: I think miss Maxwell knew her and knew her name.
• 4:31
Speaker 1: I don't recall her name. Question what allows you to
• 4:34
Speaker 1: recall that she was Eastern European? Answer? I heard her accent?
• 4:38
Speaker 1: I think. Question did mister Epstein ever talk to you
• 4:41
Speaker 1: about his dating or social life. Answer no question. Did
• 4:45
Speaker 1: you ever spend time with Epstein or any of his
• 4:47
Speaker 1: girlfriends or romantic interests, let's say, apart from the two
• 4:51
Speaker 1: interactions that you just described, Answer no question. Did you
• 4:56
Speaker 1: ever have any concerns about miss Maxwell's work for or
• 4:59
Speaker 1: associate with mister Epstein, let's say, apart from the general
• 5:03
Speaker 1: issue of him being her ex boyfriend? Answer no, that
• 5:07
Speaker 1: was the primary one. He did seem to have significant
• 5:10
Speaker 1: influence over her. She did always kind of look up
• 5:13
Speaker 1: to him, and that was not comfortable with that question.
• 5:17
Speaker 1: Did you say she it was your perception that she
• 5:20
Speaker 1: did kind of look up to him? Is that right? Answer? Yes.
• 5:23
Speaker 1: Question if you can recall other examples or general sort
• 5:27
Speaker 1: of energy, what gave you that perception? Answer comments that
• 5:30
Speaker 1: she made. Question you may not remember in a photographic sense,
• 5:36
Speaker 1: but could you give me just a general sense of
• 5:38
Speaker 1: what an example comment might be. Answer his financial acumen,
• 5:43
Speaker 1: investing expertise. Question And do you have a perception as
• 5:48
Speaker 1: to whether that because she wasn't the only one I
• 5:50
Speaker 1: think that felt that way about him, did you have
• 5:52
Speaker 1: a perspective, given your background and professional accomplishments, as to
• 5:56
Speaker 1: whether the reputation was warranted or not. Answer no question,
• 6:00
Speaker 1: no perspective at all. Answer it always seemed a little
• 6:04
Speaker 1: suspect to me. Question what would give you that impression? Answer?
• 6:08
Speaker 1: You know, the type of financial returns he was supposed
• 6:10
Speaker 1: to generate were kind of Miss Callen jumps in impossible,
• 6:14
Speaker 1: mister Waite. Yeah, I mean I wouldn't say impossible, but
• 6:17
Speaker 1: unheard of, I guess, you know. And then when I
• 6:20
Speaker 1: looked at his assets, most of them seem to come
• 6:22
Speaker 1: from mister Wexner. He gets cut off by somebody asking
• 6:26
Speaker 1: him question redacted question, Yeah, what was your impression of
• 6:30
Speaker 1: what mister Epstein did for a living? Answer that he
• 6:33
Speaker 1: managed money for other people, for a small list of
• 6:35
Speaker 1: select clients. That's what was described to me. Question was
• 6:40
Speaker 1: it your understanding that Les Wexner was some sort of
• 6:42
Speaker 1: primary or the main client? Answer at one point? Yeah.
• 6:46
Speaker 1: Question did miss Maxwell ever talk about mister Epstein's relationship
• 6:50
Speaker 1: with mister Wexner? Answer yes. Question do you remember the
• 6:55
Speaker 1: general nature of that as Miss Maxwell described it, whether
• 6:59
Speaker 1: from a personal relationship point of view, business relationship, or
• 7:03
Speaker 1: how did she characterize it? Answer? When they were dating?
• 7:06
Speaker 1: I think they spent a lot of time in Ohio,
• 7:08
Speaker 1: with mister Wexner and his wife. Question did she ever
• 7:12
Speaker 1: describe anything related to her time in Ohio or her
• 7:15
Speaker 1: knowledge of mister Epstein's time in Ohio that raised any
• 7:19
Speaker 1: kind of ethical or criminal concerns? Answer no, not that
• 7:22
Speaker 1: I recall. Question. I think we've had at least one,
• 7:26
Speaker 1: maybe a couple members join if they could identify themselves.
• 7:30
Speaker 1: Mister Walkinshaw from Virginia's eleventh District, James Comer, Chairman House
• 7:34
Speaker 1: Oversight Committee, Kentucky. Question, prior to becoming public knowledge, did
• 7:39
Speaker 1: you have any direct or indirect knowledge of the sexual
• 7:42
Speaker 1: abuse that Jeffrey Epstein was committing against miners and young women?
• 7:46
Speaker 1: Answer no. Question prior to it becoming public knowledge? Did
• 7:50
Speaker 1: you have any direct or indirect knowledge of the sexual
• 7:52
Speaker 1: abuse that Glayinne Maxwell was facilitating and committing against miners
• 7:57
Speaker 1: and young women? Answer no question. Did you ever engage
• 8:01
Speaker 1: in sexual activity with someone who was introduced to you
• 8:03
Speaker 1: by Jeffrey Epstein or Glenn Maxwell? Answer no question. I
• 8:08
Speaker 1: want to get a little bit more specific, and that is,
• 8:11
Speaker 1: for example, one plaintiff in twenty seventeen alleged that she
• 8:15
Speaker 1: was abused by Epstein between October of two thousand and
• 8:18
Speaker 1: six and April of two thousand and seven, and that
• 8:20
Speaker 1: somewhere in that date range, Miss Maxwell coerced her into
• 8:24
Speaker 1: sexual compliance. She alleges she once tried to escape the
• 8:28
Speaker 1: Epstein Island after she was verbally abused and threatened by
• 8:31
Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell, among others. That would be in the range
• 8:34
Speaker 1: of when Miss Maxwell and you were dating, So to
• 8:37
Speaker 1: be very clear, you never had any knowledge of the
• 8:39
Speaker 1: allegations that I just described. Answer no, but I find
• 8:43
Speaker 1: those very upsetting. Question did miss Maxwell go to mister
• 8:46
Speaker 1: Epstein's island a lot while you were dating? Answer not
• 8:49
Speaker 1: that I can recall. Question can you recall any instance
• 8:53
Speaker 1: of Miss Maxwell going to Epstein's island while you were dating?
• 8:56
Speaker 1: Answer no, I don't recall any instance where she went
• 8:59
Speaker 1: to the island. Question. In twenty twenty one, in its
• 9:03
Speaker 1: indictment against Miss Maxwell, the Department of Justice claimed that
• 9:07
Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell assisted, facilitated, contributed to Jeffrey Epstein's abuse of
• 9:12
Speaker 1: minor girls by, among other things, helping Epstein to recruit,
• 9:16
Speaker 1: groom and ultimately abuse victims known to Maxwell and Epstein
• 9:20
Speaker 1: to be under the age of eighteen. The victims were
• 9:23
Speaker 1: as young as fourteen years old when they were groomed
• 9:26
Speaker 1: and abused by Maxwell and Epstein, both of whom knew
• 9:30
Speaker 1: that certain victims were in fact under the age of eighteen. So,
• 9:34
Speaker 1: again for crystal clarity, you had no knowledge of abuse
• 9:37
Speaker 1: of any kind by mister Epstein or miss Maxwell during
• 9:41
Speaker 1: the time that you were in a relationship with Miss Maxwell.
• 9:44
Speaker 1: Answer that is correct. Question. I think we've had another
• 9:48
Speaker 1: member join if they could just identify themselves for the record.
• 9:52
Speaker 1: Congressman Sujas Submarannium. Question, if you recall at what point
• 9:58
Speaker 1: did you become aware that mister Epstein had been arrested
• 10:00
Speaker 1: for solicitation of prostitution. Answer I don't recall exactly when
• 10:05
Speaker 1: I became aware of that. Question If we say that
• 10:08
Speaker 1: occurred in July of two thousand and six, would you
• 10:11
Speaker 1: estimate that you learned about it maybe within a couple
• 10:13
Speaker 1: of weeks of it happening, or was this something that
• 10:16
Speaker 1: not until years later did somebody reveal it to you.
• 10:20
Speaker 1: Answer it was probably months months later. It was when
• 10:24
Speaker 1: he was serving a sentence. Question okay, so that would
• 10:27
Speaker 1: not have occurred until at least a couple of years later.
• 10:30
Speaker 1: Answer okay. Question, So, to the best of your recollection,
• 10:33
Speaker 1: is that for at least that in between time between
• 10:37
Speaker 1: the arrest and the sentence you were not informed and
• 10:39
Speaker 1: were not aware. Answer no, I was not aware. Question
• 10:43
Speaker 1: for his arrest in mid two thousand and six, Let's say,
• 10:46
Speaker 1: to the best of your memory, what would you recall
• 10:48
Speaker 1: about Miss Maxwell's relationship with Epstein at that point? Was
• 10:52
Speaker 1: she still working for him? Was it beginning to tape
• 10:55
Speaker 1: her off? Answer? I believe her work relationship with him
• 10:58
Speaker 1: by two thousand and six been minimal from what she
• 11:01
Speaker 1: had told me. Question do you recall roughly at what
• 11:04
Speaker 1: point you would have become aware that Epstein had pled
• 11:07
Speaker 1: guilty to solicitation and solicitation of a minor So that
• 11:11
Speaker 1: happened in June of two thousand and eight. Would you
• 11:13
Speaker 1: estimate that you learned about that pretty quickly after it
• 11:16
Speaker 1: happened or was it also a pretty big lag? Answer? Yeah,
• 11:20
Speaker 1: I'm not exactly sure when he was serving the time
• 11:23
Speaker 1: when he was on that work release program, but that's
• 11:25
Speaker 1: when it was happening. That was when I first remember
• 11:28
Speaker 1: learning about that, And I don't know if I ever
• 11:31
Speaker 1: get or evennew the specific charges. Miss Maxwell always downplayed
• 11:36
Speaker 1: that fairly significantly. Question did you have any recollection of
• 11:40
Speaker 1: maybe the first time Miss Maxwell sort of. I assume
• 11:43
Speaker 1: it was miss Maxwell would have been the one to
• 11:45
Speaker 1: inform you about mister Epstein's legal trouble, Is that right? Answer? Yes,
• 11:50
Speaker 1: Question do you have any recollection of that first time
• 11:52
Speaker 1: that she would have broached the topic with you? Answer? No, Sorry,
• 11:56
Speaker 1: I don't. Do you have any recollection of the general
• 11:59
Speaker 1: nature of how she described mister Epstein's troubles, I mean,
• 12:02
Speaker 1: you mentioned it seemed like she downplayed them. Can you
• 12:05
Speaker 1: just elaborate on that a little bit? Answer? Yeah, Again,
• 12:08
Speaker 1: I don't specifically recall what she would have said. You know,
• 12:12
Speaker 1: I think she said that there was a plea agreement.
• 12:14
Speaker 1: I don't remember the exact details, but you know that
• 12:17
Speaker 1: he got some work release situation, probably because it wasn't
• 12:20
Speaker 1: that serious kind of that kind of way she portrayed it.
• 12:23
Speaker 1: Question did she ever describe the possible or definite involvement
• 12:28
Speaker 1: of miners in Epstein's legal troubles? Answer not that I
• 12:31
Speaker 1: can recall. Question and this plea included a charge of
• 12:34
Speaker 1: solicitation of the miners specifically, did she, as far as
• 12:38
Speaker 1: you remember, did she ever mention that? Answer? Not that
• 12:42
Speaker 1: I can recall. Question and it sounds like you never
• 12:45
Speaker 1: became aware of that through the newspaper or any kind
• 12:47
Speaker 1: of public source. Answer No, I don't recall there being
• 12:50
Speaker 1: a lot of press around that at the time. Apparently
• 12:53
Speaker 1: there was some, but I don't remember seeing anything in
• 12:55
Speaker 1: the press about it. Question And you're either personal or
• 12:59
Speaker 1: business circles other associations of yours, they weren't such that
• 13:03
Speaker 1: you would have been kind of word of mouth. Hey,
• 13:05
Speaker 1: did you hear what happened to Jeffrey? Nothing like that
• 13:07
Speaker 1: ever occurred? Answer no, I don't recall that happening. Question
• 13:13
Speaker 1: And looking back, is that not surprising to you? In
• 13:15
Speaker 1: other words, was mister Epstein really not somebody that you
• 13:18
Speaker 1: or your associates would be commenting on? Answer yeah. I
• 13:22
Speaker 1: didn't spend a lot of time with them, so it wasn't,
• 13:24
Speaker 1: and neither did a lot of people that I hung
• 13:27
Speaker 1: out with. All right, folks, we're gonna wrap up right there,
• 13:29
Speaker 1: and in the next episode dealing with the topic, we're
• 13:32
Speaker 1: gonna pick up where we left off. All the information
• 13:34
Speaker 1: that goes with this episode can be found in the
• 13:37
  Speaker 1: description box.
