- 0:03Speaker 1: All right, boys, we are here, Coach Hart. Coach Brian
- 0:06Speaker 1: Hartline before we get into the episode. As you know,
- 0:09Speaker 1: because you are you follow the boys. Boys, we gotta read.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Chevy Chevrolet is a trusted company that's been innovating for
- 0:16Speaker 1: the last one hundred years. Up to now, most electric
- 0:19Speaker 1: vehicles have been either too expensive, too small, or too
- 0:22Speaker 1: limited in their capabilities for most people. Chevy is committed
- 0:26Speaker 1: to making EV's available for all Americans. There is a
- 0:29Speaker 1: growing network of public charging stations and over nineteen hundred
- 0:33Speaker 1: certified Chevy EV dealerships. Chevy has convenient ways to research
- 0:38Speaker 1: and shop EV's online.
- 0:40Speaker 2: EV's for everyone everywhere. Coach Hart, that was really good.
- 0:45Speaker 2: That was pretty well done. I'm fired up that you're here.
- 0:48Speaker 3: Bro, I'm glad to be here man, because you had
- 0:50Speaker 3: you guys made it like well, I tried to be
- 0:52Speaker 3: I saw you posted that. I was like, Yo, they
- 0:54Speaker 3: gotta come.
- 0:55Speaker 2: Because Ohio State was on. I think we were going
- 0:57Speaker 2: to go to Iowa.
- 0:58Speaker 1: But then when you reached out and then I was like,
- 0:59Speaker 1: oh yeah, Brian Hartline, weird flex, but it's a flex.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Brian Hartline follows me. I will DM him and be like, hey,
- 1:06Speaker 1: what are we talking like, let's start the Coty No.
- 1:08Speaker 1: He responded to a tweet. I was like, Yo, you guys,
- 1:11Speaker 1: come on Columbus.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:13Speaker 4: So, dude, of all the places when we were going
- 1:15Speaker 4: through like spring football tour, what should do?
- 1:17Speaker 2: This is like back in December.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Yeah, I was like, bro, it'd be sick to go
- 1:20Speaker 4: to Ohio State just to like see the differences and
- 1:22Speaker 4: stuff like that.
- 1:23Speaker 2: But I thought there was no way. There's no chance
- 1:25Speaker 2: they're gonna let us in there. And you sold out?
- 1:27Speaker 4: Was like, I literally sold out, sold out our life.
- 1:29Speaker 4: Columbus only only sold out live.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Show the spot Man Wild. That's fair, just crazy.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:34Speaker 2: First question, yeah, are you happy for Michigan? I'm never
- 1:38Speaker 2: I never am.
- 1:39Speaker 1: No.
- 1:40Speaker 2: No, I mean yeah, do you think it's good for
- 1:42Speaker 2: the robbery? Yes? You in a weird way, you are happy.
- 1:46Speaker 2: I love like everyone hating everybody.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Yeah, you played here and now you coach here, like
- 1:52Speaker 3: played here and coached here and never planned on coaching
- 1:54Speaker 3: and and uh yeah, I h I hate I hate
- 1:59Speaker 3: to up North.
- 1:59Speaker 2: And I tell you what, Yeah, it's funny how you
- 2:01Speaker 2: guys are scared to hear her name. Yeah, I love that.
- 2:04Speaker 4: You know what, you guys should do next year in
- 2:06Speaker 4: ann Arbor, something real disrespectful, like and like like the sixties.
- 2:10Speaker 4: I always remember seeing this like black and white video
- 2:12Speaker 4: of the Hollow State team running and pulling down the banner.
- 2:14Speaker 2: Okay, I remember that one back in the day, right
- 2:16Speaker 2: way back in the day.
- 2:17Speaker 4: We're talking about like black and white TV. You guys
- 2:20Speaker 4: should do something like that. Yeah, really ignite the fire. Yeah,
- 2:23Speaker 4: I think, Uh, I think the fire is lit. You know,
- 2:25Speaker 4: I think I think it's pretty good right now. I'm
- 2:28Speaker 4: kind of you know, it's gonna be a heck of
- 2:30Speaker 4: a game. We talked about the importance of it and
- 2:32Speaker 4: how big it is and hearing your boys good forward
- 2:34Speaker 4: to him?
- 2:34Speaker 3: Manis what pissed you off most about that second half
- 2:37Speaker 3: last year losing? Outside of losing, uh, it was being
- 2:41Speaker 3: a yeah yeah no head coach Arthur smith A. We
- 2:47Speaker 3: were supposed to have her in last year. Do you
- 2:49Speaker 3: have any comments to be the assistant height end coach.
- 2:52Speaker 2: I don't want to get in trouble, but I'm gonna
- 2:54Speaker 2: fight for you will. Yeah, I appreciate that's all we
- 2:56Speaker 2: need to hear the available.
- 3:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I appreciate you guys. You're ten point two. You
- 3:03Speaker 5: all saw the punt set out there. We will be
- 3:05Speaker 5: we will be back. Yes, I'll send my list of demands.
- 3:08Speaker 5: Don't worry.
- 3:10Speaker 2: That is wild. Yes, I know wave the physical, wave
- 3:14Speaker 2: the physically. You're part of the part of the I'm
- 3:16Speaker 2: part of that. You're part of them.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Yes, you're two hundred and seventy pounds left tackle. Hey,
- 3:21Speaker 4: real quick, let's get some flowers of art. Like what
- 3:23Speaker 4: a dog.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Dude, he really is the best coach. Oh yeah, he
- 3:27Speaker 2: is one believable. He never I never got the play
- 3:30Speaker 2: for him, got to know him.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Awesome, dude, awesome. He was the assistant titands coming. When
- 3:34Speaker 4: I first got there, we would be like before practice
- 3:37Speaker 4: would start, like right after warm ups. Yep, he would
- 3:39Speaker 4: stand in the corner and hold of football and we
- 3:40Speaker 4: would have to run and try to punch the ball
- 3:42Speaker 4: out on him. And I would tackle him to the
- 3:44Speaker 4: ground and hit him as hard as I could. And
- 3:46Speaker 4: now he's the head coach of the Falcons. There's a
- 3:48Speaker 4: reason why he walked up.
- 3:48Speaker 2: The willing on me. So he thanks you. I mean
- 3:51Speaker 2: I did make him tougher.
- 3:51Speaker 4: But so talk about a self made man from a
- 3:55Speaker 4: like if they always say like showed me the son
- 3:56Speaker 4: of a billionaire. You'll never see a self made man.
- 3:58Speaker 4: That's a self made man. It's invable.
- 4:00Speaker 3: I don't think people realize his back like the true
- 4:02Speaker 3: store people don't know.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I know, like that's the craziest thing to x.
- 4:06Speaker 1: The sun of FedEx basically actually because not at all
- 4:09Speaker 1: hold yours.
- 4:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna go get mine. He's gonna go get hit
- 4:12Speaker 2: hard way. Then Will Compson will be on the team
- 4:14Speaker 2: this year.
- 4:15Speaker 3: Nice with the list of man's yeah we.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we'll get right. But back to the what
- 4:22Speaker 1: pissed you off most? Outside of losing in the second
- 4:24Speaker 1: half of that Michigan game, I would say, uh, in
- 4:27Speaker 1: obvious run situation, I would say that it would be
- 4:30Speaker 1: the we only scored twenty some points. I mean, we're
- 4:34Speaker 1: the best we can be. Was we're the best offense
- 4:38Speaker 1: in the country, and we didn't execute at a high level.
- 4:41Speaker 3: So you know, I don't look anywhere else besides ourselves,
- 4:44Speaker 3: and that's how I feel about that.
- 4:47Speaker 2: So there's gotta be some part of you though.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Yeah, watching the defense give up two back to back
- 4:53Speaker 4: seventy plus yard runs in the fourth you know, I
- 4:56Speaker 4: would say, because if you if you watch it, they're
- 4:59Speaker 4: in man in the corner. The receiver runs them off
- 5:02Speaker 4: and literally runs the corner into the safety and that's
- 5:04Speaker 4: what got Edwards to run that first run. And then
- 5:06Speaker 4: they literally ran the same play the other way next play.
- 5:09Speaker 4: That's not a shot. I guess it is a shot.
- 5:12Speaker 4: But I'm not trying to be disrespectful. I'm just a
- 5:14Speaker 4: little ball here.
- 5:14Speaker 3: Yeah, a little ball.
- 5:15Speaker 2: I mean, okay, I mean that was the ten second play.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Let's go. Now our term. We got to run it
- 5:19Speaker 3: back and account for that. But we're rolling, you know
- 5:21Speaker 3: what I mean, So in our heads, I.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Don't know.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I mean, I guess it's better than a eight minute
- 5:28Speaker 3: drive where you don't have a chance maybe to respond.
- 5:31Speaker 2: But now we can respond.
- 5:32Speaker 3: And anytime the ball's back in our hands on offense, man,
- 5:34Speaker 3: we feel in a good spot, put in our hands
- 5:36Speaker 3: and we'll operate that way.
- 5:37Speaker 2: That's all. That's all we care about. I was here
- 5:39Speaker 2: for the first quarter of that game. We did.
- 5:41Speaker 4: I had a college game day and then I went
- 5:42Speaker 4: and watched and you wash your wide receiver crew or
- 5:45Speaker 4: walk out on that fiel and you're like this is terrifying.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Like you guys went like what twelve plays in the
- 5:50Speaker 4: first drive, Yeah, down there, I think you only got three,
- 5:52Speaker 4: but like, yep, beat it out, Ohio States.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Thing is like, hey, we score fast, and we score
- 5:56Speaker 2: in a hurry.
- 5:57Speaker 4: And when I saw them controlling the clock in the
- 5:58Speaker 4: first like series of the game, I thought to myself,
- 6:02Speaker 4: oh boy, we're in trouble.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Yeah, the boys might be.
- 6:04Speaker 1: They got a room now, Like I see the kicks.
- 6:06Speaker 1: You guys can get these kicks. I see the kicks,
- 6:08Speaker 1: the time piece. Obviously you have the background being a
- 6:11Speaker 1: receiver yourself. Are you the swaggiest? I don't think you coach.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I don't think you should ever like self promote. I
- 6:18Speaker 3: think you should just let everybody else talk about it.
- 6:20Speaker 3: So whatever they think they think, I mean, I'm not
- 6:24Speaker 3: gonna like answer that.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I think it takes a confident I mean a confident
- 6:28Speaker 1: person to operate the rooms that you have to operate
- 6:31Speaker 1: obviously coming from I mean.
- 6:32Speaker 3: The room though is full of like elite dudes. Man
- 6:36Speaker 3: Like I'm not sure about operating anything. Is It's more like,
- 6:39Speaker 3: you know, trying to pick the right guys that fit
- 6:41Speaker 3: what we want to get done. And then the boys
- 6:43Speaker 3: come in and they kind of let it turn into
- 6:45Speaker 3: what it's going to turn into Like, not that I
- 6:48Speaker 3: helped guide the room, but man, those guys, Marvin mac Julian,
- 6:51Speaker 3: all those guys run that room. David Johnson like, I
- 6:55Speaker 3: keep it on the tracks, but they run the show.
- 6:57Speaker 1: You said you didn't want to get into coaching, So
- 6:59Speaker 1: what got you in the coach?
- 7:00Speaker 2: Yeah? So I uh, because you had a nice career. Yeah,
- 7:02Speaker 2: I was.
- 7:03Speaker 3: It was kind of good. I was living back in Columbus.
- 7:05Speaker 3: My brother was coaching off the field for coach Meyer. Yeah,
- 7:08Speaker 3: and there was a fad there for a little bit
- 7:09Speaker 3: where like former players would come back and run scout team.
- 7:12Speaker 3: They kind of nixed that, but remember when Clempson had
- 7:14Speaker 3: some guys doing it, they talked me in doing it.
- 7:17Speaker 3: Bobby Carpenter was doing it, one of the linebackers. So
- 7:20Speaker 3: we had some guys come back and my brother talked
- 7:22Speaker 3: me into it. While I was here, I was kind
- 7:24Speaker 3: of coaching up the guys and Terry McLaurin was here
- 7:26Speaker 3: in Paris.
- 7:27Speaker 2: Campbell and some.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Of the guys I think coach Giano was now our
- 7:31Speaker 3: DC at the time.
- 7:32Speaker 2: Kind of got w into that.
- 7:33Speaker 3: As I was over there was like, man, I think
- 7:35Speaker 3: you got to hire a coach heart I heard this
- 7:37Speaker 3: story after the fact. So coach Meyer was like, hey, heart,
- 7:40Speaker 3: I love to have you as a coach. I was like,
- 7:42Speaker 3: absolutely not. I was like, appreciate the offer. That's not happening.
- 7:45Speaker 3: And then that was a bull prep in sixteen, and
- 7:48Speaker 3: then he kind of, you know, we reconnected at one
- 7:50Speaker 3: point February before spring ball in seventeen, he gave me
- 7:54Speaker 3: that opportunity again. I just kind of felt like, you know,
- 7:57Speaker 3: guy was giving me a chance to right or wrong.
- 7:59Speaker 3: And I didn't have much going all the time. I
- 8:00Speaker 3: was like, man, I'm living up up the street. Let's
- 8:02Speaker 3: see what this coaching things all about. Never left since
- 8:05Speaker 3: it's really how it happened.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Sounds like you were getting a little bored.
- 8:08Speaker 1: A little bored exactly, but if you didn't want to
- 8:10Speaker 1: first and then you're kind of sting on your ass
- 8:11Speaker 1: a little bit longer and you're like, I'm like, nothing
- 8:14Speaker 1: going on, Let's do something.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Yeah, he's even a while with how that happens to you.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Guys, like when you're playing ball a lot of the time,
- 8:20Speaker 4: especially late in the season, guys are like, fuck man,
- 8:22Speaker 4: when I'm done, I'm not doing a thing ever, fish
- 8:24Speaker 4: every day I'm gonna do this every day, and then
- 8:26Speaker 4: you get a few months out of it, and it
- 8:28Speaker 4: seems like guys always get like forward quick because in
- 8:31Speaker 4: a way, like your life's been structured since college, extremely structured, extremely.
- 8:35Speaker 1: Structured, and extremely competitive. Yeah, you get burned out a
- 8:38Speaker 1: little bit.
- 8:38Speaker 3: And I don't know about any of you guys are hilarious,
- 8:40Speaker 3: but like I got burned out with the sport at
- 8:43Speaker 3: some point, you know, and I had to get away
- 8:44Speaker 3: from it, and I'm like I'm out, you know, and
- 8:46Speaker 3: and then you kind of sit back.
- 8:47Speaker 2: I went to my first like tailgate. I'm like, yo,
- 8:49Speaker 2: this is sweet, Like.
- 8:51Speaker 3: This is why people like college football. This is why
- 8:54Speaker 3: we like football because we grew up in it. You
- 8:56Speaker 3: don't even realize it because we've never tailgated. You've never
- 9:00Speaker 3: done the things outside of football that make it so great.
- 9:03Speaker 3: And then you get a chance to do it and
- 9:04Speaker 3: you're like, I get it, and then you recharge your
- 9:06Speaker 3: batteries and like you're saying, like a competitive wise, I'm like, yeah,
- 9:09Speaker 3: I gotta do something.
- 9:10Speaker 2: I can't be sitting around for next What burnt you out?
- 9:12Speaker 2: What burnt you out of football?
- 9:14Speaker 3: You know? I think the hardest thing for me is
- 9:15Speaker 3: I was, you know, I love to win, and I was,
- 9:18Speaker 3: you know, I had to hand them, you know, a
- 9:19Speaker 3: good amount of teams that we were a big five hundred
- 9:21Speaker 3: all the time, Like we'd come down in the last
- 9:24Speaker 3: year in Miami and you know, we didn't pull it out,
- 9:26Speaker 3: whether it be Buffalo or New England or whoever, to
- 9:28Speaker 3: get to the playoffs, and we were just barely missing
- 9:30Speaker 3: wild cards.
- 9:31Speaker 2: And and uh, I hated losing. So it tired me out.
- 9:35Speaker 3: I would say that coupled with change, you know, turnover
- 9:38Speaker 3: on staff, turnover head coach, position, coach, coordinators, like it's
- 9:44Speaker 3: it's a it's a people business. And I got tired
- 9:47Speaker 3: of getting guys to like me over and over and
- 9:49Speaker 3: over and over and over again, because you do that's
- 9:51Speaker 3: part of the game. Like you got to play the
- 9:53Speaker 3: game in the NFL, and if you don't play the game,
- 9:55Speaker 3: it's easier to kind of move on from you. So
- 9:57Speaker 3: you're turn you're earning the trust of new hey, coaches,
- 10:00Speaker 3: a new coordinator, it's a new position coaches. It just
- 10:03Speaker 3: gets older the fast. And if you get in a
- 10:05Speaker 3: spot where you're winning, there's not much turnover. Man, it's
- 10:08Speaker 3: it's easy, easier sometimes to ride that wave. But if
- 10:11Speaker 3: you'd get in some spots where it's not I've seen
- 10:12Speaker 3: it in the past, it can make it harder, you know,
- 10:14Speaker 3: to kind of continue to prove yourself every year. And
- 10:18Speaker 3: so I think that kind of a combination of not
- 10:20Speaker 3: winning enough and turnover on staffs a lot of it
- 10:23Speaker 3: just burnt me out.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Yeah, well you ended up going to the Browns, and
- 10:26Speaker 1: that's the wrong way to go if you want to
- 10:27Speaker 1: go to winning.
- 10:28Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I will say, uh, two hours from home, I'm
- 10:31Speaker 3: gonna go ahead and take my butt back home. Yet Miami,
- 10:34Speaker 3: go back home, and uh see how this plays out.
- 10:37Speaker 3: But yeah, it is what it is.
- 10:38Speaker 4: As a coach, now, like, how do you see the
- 10:40Speaker 4: contest between being a coach and a player, Like what
- 10:42Speaker 4: are the biggest differences for you? Especially on game day
- 10:45Speaker 4: because you still you can see it. You're a competitive cat.
- 10:48Speaker 4: I'm sure there's times you look out there you're like, man,
- 10:49Speaker 4: I can still put the shit on.
- 10:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I probably could do a couple reps,
- 10:53Speaker 3: not as many as I used to. But obviously the
- 10:55Speaker 3: difference between being a player and a coach it is.
- 11:00Speaker 3: I mean, I think that you.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Try to pull on as a player. So I try to.
- 11:03Speaker 3: Coach these guys the way I'd like to be coached,
- 11:05Speaker 3: not a big fluff guy. So like I'm getting straight
- 11:08Speaker 3: to the point, you know. So on game day, though,
- 11:11Speaker 3: you know, you're always kind of nervous because it's like, hey,
- 11:15Speaker 3: it's in your hands. I feel like we do such
- 11:18Speaker 3: a great job through the week, I don't have a
- 11:20Speaker 3: lot of nerves on game day. Like if we do
- 11:22Speaker 3: a lot of good work and boys are healthy and
- 11:24Speaker 3: we're out there putting our best foot forward, like I'm
- 11:26Speaker 3: ready to roll, and my nerves is not being crazy
- 11:29Speaker 3: very competitive, you know, whether we're playing in the CFP
- 11:32Speaker 3: or the rivalry and all those definitely different. You wish
- 11:35Speaker 3: you could be out there. I'm like, okay, this is
- 11:36Speaker 3: that one game where I wish I could go out
- 11:38Speaker 3: there and hit somebody. But that's very few rivalries. One
- 11:42Speaker 3: of them CFP is one of them. That's just kind
- 11:44Speaker 3: of going to be in the hot moments. So it's
- 11:46Speaker 3: a little different, but it's out of your hands. That's
- 11:48Speaker 3: the biggest thing, you know, you could you can't impact
- 11:50Speaker 3: the game anything about it.
- 11:51Speaker 4: Now when you're watching these players and like, let's say well,
- 11:54Speaker 4: I'm not going to name a specific school because it'll
- 11:56Speaker 4: be tough for you to answer that question. But like
- 11:57Speaker 4: at a school that you know from a talent standpoint,
- 12:00Speaker 4: it doesn't stack up to you, guys.
- 12:01Speaker 2: Right, how do you navigate?
- 12:02Speaker 4: It's probably got to be a lot easier when you're
- 12:04Speaker 4: playing a top tier team. If you're in the CFP,
- 12:06Speaker 4: you're playing like a you know, a big rival team,
- 12:09Speaker 4: it's probably easier. You know, the boys are gonna be ready,
- 12:11Speaker 4: like we just gotta get to the game, keep the
- 12:13Speaker 4: boys healthy and let's roll. When you're playing a smaller
- 12:16Speaker 4: time school, like do you switch up your coaching? Are
- 12:17Speaker 4: you a little harder on the boys like keeping their
- 12:19Speaker 4: mind on that?
- 12:20Speaker 2: Definitely? The big picture is.
- 12:21Speaker 3: Grading a standpoint, Absolutely, it's like a different mindset. But
- 12:24Speaker 3: I'm actually more like uncomfortable against maybe a lesser foe
- 12:28Speaker 3: than the other ones because the rivalry in those games,
- 12:31Speaker 3: they take care of themselves the only way you don't
- 12:33Speaker 3: take care of business if you're not mentally like ready
- 12:36Speaker 3: to turn it on like you are on those.
- 12:38Speaker 2: See it every year having the biggest that's the worry
- 12:40Speaker 2: for me.
- 12:41Speaker 3: Like, so those are the ones that were more than
- 12:44Speaker 3: the other ones, Boys are gonna be ready for those.
- 12:46Speaker 3: The other ones are like, could they talk themselves out
- 12:48Speaker 3: of it? Those are the ones you worry about in
- 12:49Speaker 3: my opinion, you know, so uh again, you got to
- 12:54Speaker 3: make sure you put these guys in good position and
- 12:55Speaker 3: they have to execute.
- 12:56Speaker 2: But if you got pros pros, no issue. But those
- 12:59Speaker 2: are the ones that worry. Yeah, even pros pros.
- 13:01Speaker 4: I mean playing the league, we would play teams that
- 13:04Speaker 4: were in the end of the year, they're out of
- 13:05Speaker 4: the playoffs or not. And you hear the boys in
- 13:07Speaker 4: the locker room saying, we're going about to I'm about
- 13:09Speaker 4: to get four sacks this game. I'm about to do this,
- 13:11Speaker 4: And then you play long enough you start to realize,
- 13:13Speaker 4: like we should be worried.
- 13:14Speaker 2: Boys, if everyone's.
- 13:16Speaker 4: Talking like this, we got to be a little more
- 13:19Speaker 4: like you guys like three and they're like, I'm about
- 13:21Speaker 4: to go off, and you gotta think yourself, like, god,
- 13:23Speaker 4: we might lose, Yeah, we might lose a little.
- 13:25Speaker 3: Now Detroit's out, they're not going to play very hard. Okay.
- 13:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like brother, it's still a game. It's still competitive, yeah,
- 13:33Speaker 2: still competitive. Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 1: What are some of the biggest misinterpretations were missed going
- 13:37Speaker 1: from player to coach.
- 13:39Speaker 3: Uh, the assumption that a player can't be a coach
- 13:42Speaker 3: because of blank and then we get labeled a lot.
- 13:47Speaker 3: I think a lot of players think they can just
- 13:48Speaker 3: be coaches even because they played the game. Uh, that's
- 13:51Speaker 3: not the case either. But you know, I think that
- 13:56Speaker 3: it's good for the sport to have former players be
- 13:59Speaker 3: in the sport as coaches. Now they have to earn it,
- 14:01Speaker 3: and I get all that. It's amazing how much we
- 14:03Speaker 3: didn't know when you get to being a coach, the
- 14:07Speaker 3: correlation of you know, how important is it?
- 14:09Speaker 2: Does it?
- 14:09Speaker 3: You know, attribute to wins, That's what it's all about.
- 14:11Speaker 3: But man, as a player, I wish I knew what
- 14:13Speaker 3: I know now. As a as a coach, you know then.
- 14:16Speaker 3: But I think just getting mislabeled, that's part of it.
- 14:18Speaker 3: A lot of players think they can just be coaches.
- 14:20Speaker 3: It's not how it works, and vice versa. Just because
- 14:23Speaker 3: they were a player doesn't mean they couldn't be a
- 14:24Speaker 3: great coach. Because they didn't draw pictures since they were
- 14:27Speaker 3: twenty years old for eight years in visio like, doesn't
- 14:30Speaker 3: mean they can't be a coach.
- 14:31Speaker 2: So that's it.
- 14:34Speaker 3: I think players also probably don't realize the amount of
- 14:37Speaker 3: time that goes in for these coaches and the investment
- 14:40Speaker 3: they have. I guess the hardest part sometimes is I'm
- 14:43Speaker 3: kind of an all in kind of dude, and so
- 14:46Speaker 3: I'm all in on and athletes and and and the
- 14:48Speaker 3: guys I pick for our room and all those kinds
- 14:50Speaker 3: of things in this whole new world. Sometimes you wonder
- 14:54Speaker 3: if the feelings mutual, you know, and and and I
- 14:59Speaker 3: think it's hard because coaches leave sometimes and then players
- 15:02Speaker 3: can now leave to like in the college world. But
- 15:04Speaker 3: I value the relationship and sometimes you know that's lost
- 15:09Speaker 3: in all of this, especially in the NFL world, right,
- 15:11Speaker 3: I mean, there's still relationships should be with coaches. I
- 15:14Speaker 3: think the NFL they minimize that importance, you know, relating
- 15:17Speaker 3: to coaches and coaches having players backs, and they minimize that.
- 15:21Speaker 3: But gms don't take that into account when it comes
- 15:23Speaker 3: to making decisions.
- 15:25Speaker 2: So you're talking.
- 15:26Speaker 4: About the change of everything going on. How do you
- 15:27Speaker 4: navigate like the transfer portal when guys you like, we've
- 15:30Speaker 4: talked about your wide receiver room, day talks about your
- 15:33Speaker 4: defensive line room, your offens line room, like you have studs,
- 15:35Speaker 4: there's no question.
- 15:36Speaker 2: You have NFL talent all around this building.
- 15:38Speaker 4: How do you get guys that are sitting behind that
- 15:40Speaker 4: NFL talent with probably just as much talent and saying, hey,
- 15:44Speaker 4: you got to be patient even though you could go
- 15:45Speaker 4: play for this other big school.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Sure, I think that I think it's relationship based.
- 15:50Speaker 3: I mean if at the end of the day, I
- 15:51Speaker 3: think if you guys sit down and have conversations a
- 15:54Speaker 3: coach hart, what's my path, and you have an honest
- 15:57Speaker 3: conversation with them, and they can feel that it should
- 16:00Speaker 3: it probably is okay. You know, you can work through
- 16:02Speaker 3: all that based on the outside variables that maybe the
- 16:04Speaker 3: family or anybody else is feeling too in his circle.
- 16:08Speaker 3: But the relationship matters, you know, And I think the
- 16:11Speaker 3: honesty being like, hey, man, like it is gonna be tough.
- 16:14Speaker 3: It's a long track. If you need this and this,
- 16:15Speaker 3: maybe you should. You know, if you want to explore
- 16:18Speaker 3: options you can. You know, just if you keep the
- 16:20Speaker 3: interest of the young man number one, it always works
- 16:24Speaker 3: itself out. I think that it's okay if guys find
- 16:29Speaker 3: a better path somewhere else. I believe that, like, I'm
- 16:32Speaker 3: still player oriented, and if you keep it that in
- 16:34Speaker 3: that world. I think it always works itself out, and
- 16:36Speaker 3: so I try to have conversations and I give honest
- 16:39Speaker 3: feedback on what I would recommend them doing. And I
- 16:42Speaker 3: think again, based on relationship, you can have those conversations.
- 16:45Speaker 4: It's got to be the hardest of the special teams coach.
- 16:47Speaker 4: Special teams coach, you usually get the guys are like,
- 16:49Speaker 4: you know, two's are working through it. Like you guys
- 16:52Speaker 4: that are playing three down are not going to be
- 16:54Speaker 4: playing special teams a lot.
- 16:55Speaker 2: So you're telling the guy, hey, you probably look at it.
- 16:57Speaker 2: He's like, hey, he's the core four guys, right.
- 17:00Speaker 3: And I would tell you this though we have in
- 17:01Speaker 3: our wide out. It's like if if you have some
- 17:04Speaker 3: young guys coming in, right, they have some guys opportunities.
- 17:06Speaker 3: If you don't trust those dudes, then all of a sudden,
- 17:08Speaker 3: I'm looking up and join Flemings on the front front
- 17:10Speaker 3: line of kor blocking some Will Compton running down on
- 17:14Speaker 3: freaking kickoff, and so like you know it stud so
- 17:18Speaker 3: like you know, at the end of the day, it's
- 17:21Speaker 3: you know, yes, you need your guys, your young athletes
- 17:23Speaker 3: to step up because we believe, frankly, that's the gateway
- 17:26Speaker 3: to offensive defense.
- 17:27Speaker 2: I mean, you can't.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Carry that job at a high level in the special
- 17:31Speaker 3: teams world.
- 17:31Speaker 2: How do you expect to go play on offensive defense?
- 17:34Speaker 2: So but yeah, I mean it can be tough. I'm
- 17:37Speaker 2: sure that's a conversation for a coach Fleming, but.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like one of those things you got to
- 17:41Speaker 4: like you tell them the truth and like they have
- 17:43Speaker 4: now they have to deal with that.
- 17:44Speaker 2: Yeah, listen, brother, it is what it is. I have
- 17:46Speaker 2: to tell them the truth.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:47Speaker 4: When you're keeping the best interest of the player, though,
- 17:49Speaker 4: how do you not become a little more selfish because
- 17:51Speaker 4: at the end of the day, your your career, yeah,
- 17:53Speaker 4: is riding on eighteen to twenty two year old that's true.
- 17:56Speaker 4: And so you're looking at a guy that's like, I know,
- 17:58Speaker 4: in two years he's going to be ready to go,
- 18:00Speaker 4: but right now he's not.
- 18:01Speaker 2: But he could play somewhere else.
- 18:02Speaker 4: Yeah, Like, how did you disassociate that for you as
- 18:05Speaker 4: a coach, because at the end of the day, like
- 18:07Speaker 4: this is in your ceiling for you, you want to
- 18:09Speaker 4: keep going and growing in the ranks of the coaching world.
- 18:12Speaker 3: I would say, though, I mean, if you're that sure
- 18:15Speaker 3: of a young man playing in a year or two
- 18:17Speaker 3: and him knowing that that's okay it. I mean, at
- 18:21Speaker 3: the end of the day, doing it a year earlier
- 18:24Speaker 3: doesn't ensure you anything, you know what I mean. But
- 18:25Speaker 3: if coach are or any of the coaches looking at
- 18:28Speaker 3: you and telling you a certainty of where I see
- 18:30Speaker 3: you're going to be in a year or two again
- 18:31Speaker 3: based on that relationship, you know, you ride that out
- 18:34Speaker 3: all your.
- 18:34Speaker 2: Goals, which is probably the NFL it's still there.
- 18:37Speaker 3: If you're telling me you want to speed the clock up,
- 18:39Speaker 3: I mean that's something you have to you have to
- 18:42Speaker 3: talk to.
- 18:42Speaker 2: You know, talking about the clock up? Do you mean
- 18:44Speaker 2: like leave earlier, do it in a year year earlier?
- 18:46Speaker 3: And then if you are doing that, you're probably not
- 18:47Speaker 3: doing it. I mean, where are you going? I mean,
- 18:49Speaker 3: we are blessed and coach Day is a phenomenal coach
- 18:51Speaker 3: and we are the best offense in the country over
- 18:54Speaker 3: the last five to six years. So if you're not
- 18:56Speaker 3: playing this offense, where are you going? Who's your quarterback,
- 18:58Speaker 3: who's the court? You know, there's a lot of variables
- 19:00Speaker 3: that you're you're now playing with versus being like, all right,
- 19:02Speaker 3: I'm gonna keep working. Coach Hart's telling me this, this
- 19:05Speaker 3: and this, you know, go from there. You know, and
- 19:08Speaker 3: and in the transfer world, like I've never taken there's
- 19:11Speaker 3: never been a transfer receiver that come to Ohio State.
- 19:13Speaker 2: So you see who's in the room. You see you're
- 19:15Speaker 2: competing against.
- 19:16Speaker 3: There's some variables that are under your control versus when
- 19:19Speaker 3: you leave, variables change. Yeah, what are your career ambitions?
- 19:23Speaker 3: You know, I would say when I have a job
- 19:24Speaker 3: for coach RT Yeah, man, Like you know, in my soul,
- 19:28Speaker 3: I'm an NFL guy. I love the NFL.
- 19:30Speaker 2: I think it is the all star league of college football.
- 19:32Speaker 3: I don't care where you're from, what school, small, big, Like,
- 19:35Speaker 3: it's the best players in the world.
- 19:36Speaker 2: There is no other better players. So I love that.
- 19:39Speaker 3: I love the uh uh separate you know, agree of
- 19:42Speaker 3: separation being so small. So I love that. I love
- 19:45Speaker 3: my alma mater at Ohio State. So my heart's in
- 19:48Speaker 3: the NFL. You know, I think one day I'd want
- 19:50Speaker 3: to coach there. That's the reality of it. When I
- 19:52Speaker 3: don't know, I mean, my in laws are here, my
- 19:54Speaker 3: wife's from Columbus, Like there's just like a big foundation that's.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Been built here. Yeah.
- 19:58Speaker 3: Uh, I love coach the receivers. When I started, I'll
- 20:02Speaker 3: be the receiver coach for the next fifteen twenty years.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Leave me alone. I'm good.
- 20:05Speaker 3: And then that kind of grows and as a competitor, right,
- 20:08Speaker 3: I mean you're like, oh, people start putting nuggets in
- 20:10Speaker 3: your head. I'm like, yeah, that'd be pretty sweet. Yeah,
- 20:12Speaker 3: that'd be you know about it, And I'm like, I
- 20:16Speaker 3: do I love I would love to. I love building
- 20:19Speaker 3: the receiver room. I love that was an awesome opportunity
- 20:21Speaker 3: and choosing it, developing it. I'm about to do that
- 20:24Speaker 3: on a team. I'd like to be a head coach
- 20:26Speaker 3: and try to, you know, do that team wine, not
- 20:28Speaker 3: just a position based kind of doing that now offensively,
- 20:31Speaker 3: you know a little bit. But I like dealing with people.
- 20:35Speaker 3: I like building a team, whether it be a staff
- 20:38Speaker 3: or whether it be a you know, individual players.
- 20:40Speaker 2: I like that.
- 20:41Speaker 3: So you know where it ends up, couldn't tell you,
- 20:44Speaker 3: but that intrigues me for sure.
- 20:45Speaker 2: NFL head coach.
- 20:47Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say, you know, I want to be
- 20:48Speaker 3: able to win a national championship in college, so we'd
- 20:50Speaker 3: have to be, you know, a top program that paints
- 20:52Speaker 3: that vision that that can get done there and then
- 20:55Speaker 3: or the NFL.
- 20:56Speaker 2: I mean I think for me, I you know, like
- 20:59Speaker 2: you guys are probably similar.
- 21:00Speaker 3: All the marbles gotta be on the table, like it
- 21:02Speaker 3: has to be the pinnacle, or maybe I may not
- 21:04Speaker 3: have as much interest if the pinnacle is not an
- 21:07Speaker 3: option a super Bowl or a national championship.
- 21:10Speaker 2: That's hard for me. I want it. I want all
- 21:12Speaker 2: the marbles on the table. I love that.
- 21:15Speaker 4: Beautiful going by coach Hart. There's another coach heart in
- 21:19Speaker 4: the Big Ten.
- 21:20Speaker 2: Oh there is? Yeah, it's the running back coach from Michigan.
- 21:24Speaker 2: Part of them.
- 21:25Speaker 4: If you too, maybe got in a tussle, who do
- 21:28Speaker 4: you think would win that? Do you think so there
- 21:32Speaker 4: is there is there any legend for the university of.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Any in the country. They're all losing. He's them all.
- 21:41Speaker 3: This is why we had this motherfucker.
- 21:43Speaker 2: I think he's the running backs coach. But I do
- 21:46Speaker 2: I do with that answer?
- 21:49Speaker 4: All right, cool, that's nothing else always and.
- 21:55Speaker 2: That's my players.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Like if you're not if you can't view yourself as
- 21:57Speaker 3: the dudes, you're never going to be the dude. You
- 21:59Speaker 3: ever met a dude, I didn't know he was a dude.
- 22:01Speaker 2: Sometimes, you know, every now and then, I don't know now.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Then I got to look at the meror like, are
- 22:04Speaker 3: you I never dude, I didn't know he was the
- 22:07Speaker 3: first round pick.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I sucked in the first round. Holy cow. Like, if
- 22:11Speaker 2: you don't view yourself that person, you're never going to
- 22:12Speaker 2: be that person. See.
- 22:13Speaker 4: I think there's a big difference though, because there are
- 22:15Speaker 4: guys that like you look at them and you're like, oh,
- 22:16Speaker 4: you're sow and so, But then you look at the
- 22:18Speaker 4: way they act and everything, You're like.
- 22:19Speaker 2: Oh, you don't know how Hard Jr. And her junior
- 22:23Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes really Yes, I was Taylor and Hard Junior
- 22:27Speaker 2: does not know he's Dailor and Hard Junior Broly. That's fascinating. Yeah,
- 22:31Speaker 2: I want to know that. I really want to know about.
- 22:32Speaker 1: The most just the most salt of the years type
- 22:35Speaker 1: of guy ever meet.
- 22:36Speaker 2: He hes awesome, sweetheart. Well you don't think he doesn't
- 22:39Speaker 2: think he was one of the best race car drivers.
- 22:41Speaker 1: In the I'm sure he takes that, but I'm just
- 22:42Speaker 1: saying talking about the the carry. He won't say. He
- 22:46Speaker 1: won't say pick anybody, pick anybody to lose. That's the confidence.
- 22:49Speaker 1: But I think that's the confidence you had to have
- 22:50Speaker 1: being a white skilled player growing up. You know what
- 22:53Speaker 1: I mean, don't you're a unicorn.
- 22:55Speaker 3: It was not like back hard.
- 22:57Speaker 2: How hard was that growing up? Playing you know white.
- 23:00Speaker 3: Yeah, playing wide receiver, receive you better.
- 23:06Speaker 2: I mean, don't get me wrong.
- 23:07Speaker 3: We could write books probably about you know how I
- 23:10Speaker 3: was on those like back and forth went writing for you.
- 23:14Speaker 4: You know what I mean, Remember like my brother, you
- 23:16Speaker 4: got your own story to tell. You're a white line back. No,
- 23:17Speaker 4: but I like how I said.
- 23:18Speaker 2: I like it.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I liked him saying we could probably write a book.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I'm like, wait, yeah, we go right, we can all
- 23:23Speaker 1: get in.
- 23:23Speaker 2: There like that.
- 23:24Speaker 3: I mean, they're all of them from you know, COMARTI
- 23:26Speaker 3: in New York with Remus going God, she just wouldn't
- 23:29Speaker 3: leave the freaking conference in New England and in uh
- 23:33Speaker 3: New York, but all of them, you know, playing all
- 23:36Speaker 3: the different corners throughout my time.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I never talked. First.
- 23:41Speaker 3: I would just you know, throw a bug out there. Yeah,
- 23:44Speaker 3: I'll keep my kind of bug. I don't know if
- 23:46Speaker 3: I can say that now.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Is there in the middle of the road, you know
- 23:49Speaker 2: what I mean? Because you know, you know, all that
- 23:54Speaker 2: matters is the guys.
- 23:55Speaker 1: You're recruiting, the guys in your room that see they're
- 23:56Speaker 1: gonna be yo, coach, you've got the sauce.
- 23:59Speaker 2: What you know, you gotta put on your tape in front.
- 24:01Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, no, a lot of times. I mean I'm
- 24:03Speaker 2: getting for a move now.
- 24:05Speaker 3: So that's which is good, you know, getting grin earah yeah, yeah,
- 24:08Speaker 3: I turned it, turned it on. Sometimes you're like, wow,
- 24:10Speaker 3: I'm getting old now, ye know, ship but no, it's uh,
- 24:15Speaker 3: it's been good, you know, I think, Uh, but no,
- 24:18Speaker 3: at the end of the day, I didn't I didn't
- 24:19Speaker 3: want to get anybody fired up. I just made sure that,
- 24:22Speaker 3: you know, after I made a play and they just
- 24:24Speaker 3: they just knew, don't show your friends that. Yeah.
- 24:28Speaker 4: I was the exact we're talking no, no, no, no no.
- 24:32Speaker 4: I was a mouth the individual choir boy. Yeah American,
- 24:36Speaker 4: I would say.
- 24:37Speaker 3: Definitely you on the sideline, uh with was ite of
- 24:42Speaker 3: my favorites.
- 24:44Speaker 4: Yeah, well he that was an outrageously late hit on Marcus.
- 24:48Speaker 4: That was just crazy to watch. And that's when they
- 24:50Speaker 4: were still the Legion of Boom okay, like who's the safety?
- 24:53Speaker 2: Who? Every one him? Chancellor Chancellor Earl Thomas.
- 24:58Speaker 4: He would watch away right with that dark visor on
- 25:01Speaker 4: when we were playing them like a noon game. I'm like,
- 25:03Speaker 4: this motherfucker is a safety and there's a couple of
- 25:05Speaker 4: players we had to put him. It's called structure of
- 25:08Speaker 4: the safety rolls down. We would just push it to
- 25:10Speaker 4: the next guy, and I'm thinking to myself, I got
- 25:12Speaker 4: to hit this fucking dude because you've seen him and
- 25:14Speaker 4: it's hits he puts on it.
- 25:15Speaker 2: He's like, he don't care about me. He does not
- 25:17Speaker 2: care about me at all.
- 25:18Speaker 1: We're getting super comfortable with coach card hearts in here
- 25:20Speaker 1: because we're kind of letting some work.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Yeah, and now for some beeps. You had two and
- 25:24Speaker 2: that two f's and that little sword. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:26Speaker 4: I can't say. I don't want to say fuck. It's
- 25:29Speaker 4: like it's like, uh, I don't want to say loud
- 25:31Speaker 4: because I don't just like it's like the Top one hundred,
- 25:33Speaker 4: that's the first time I kind of saw you. I
- 25:34Speaker 4: was like, Oh, this guy, I can rock with him.
- 25:38Speaker 1: What do you mean when you were on the top
- 25:40Speaker 1: one hunter and doing an interview and you're like, I
- 25:41Speaker 1: can't say, they're like bleeping it out every time.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Is that why you did the same bit? Oh?
- 25:46Speaker 4: I always watched it and I was like that's funny.
- 25:48Speaker 4: Will did that? I know you stole that from.
- 25:51Speaker 1: This is This is when I we didn't even know
- 25:53Speaker 1: each other either. I was like, oh this, I like this.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Hey you're a good You're a good hang. I almost
- 25:57Speaker 1: dropped another one, bro, I am comfortable.
- 26:02Speaker 2: Man.
- 26:04Speaker 4: There were some good ones though, talking back, Yes, because dude,
- 26:06Speaker 4: when you're when you're a skilled player, oh my white
- 26:08Speaker 4: skill player, you watch them out there and you're like, hey, brother,
- 26:10Speaker 4: good luck, and then they kind of like, hey, it
- 26:12Speaker 4: is something real nice out there, and it's always a hey,
- 26:14Speaker 4: you're pretty shifty for a white guy, and you're pretty
- 26:16Speaker 4: quick for a white guy.
- 26:17Speaker 2: Yeah, man, you're fasteran I thought, yeah, yes, dude.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Yea knock for that one.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Remember Dean Sanders. It makes you feel good when you
- 26:23Speaker 2: get that. Yeah you get that.
- 26:24Speaker 3: It's like I'm really approval or because at some point
- 26:27Speaker 3: I might have said I I tried to warn you,
- 26:28Speaker 3: like I get to give him one of those, you know,
- 26:30Speaker 3: because I would do a little bit of something. Yeah
- 26:32Speaker 3: they'll laugh and then I'll do something and like try
- 26:34Speaker 3: to warn you don't show your friends when.
- 26:37Speaker 1: You get called like white chocolate, You're just like, oh
- 26:39Speaker 1: that was that never got that was our thing.
- 26:41Speaker 3: That was me and Brandon Marshall in Miami. So like
- 26:46Speaker 3: that was our little back and forth. I was playing
- 26:48Speaker 3: to be marsh in Miami. That was a big time.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Even Mike Wallace, it was like playing for branded. Playing
- 26:52Speaker 3: with Brandon Marshall awesome. I mean he was he was
- 26:55Speaker 3: bashit crazy. But like I love playing with them, and
- 26:59Speaker 3: we had a great rapport. I would still stay connected
- 27:01Speaker 3: now every time in Miami recruit and or for Laddy,
- 27:03Speaker 3: I'll try to see him. Yeah he's down there. But
- 27:06Speaker 3: I love b marsh Man. I love you know, I.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Love that guy. An outstanding job. Yeah yeah, yeah, I
- 27:11Speaker 2: am athlete. Yeah. Top three wide receiver talents that you've
- 27:16Speaker 2: coached up three i've coached.
- 27:22Speaker 3: In the league.
- 27:22Speaker 2: All in general, like.
- 27:24Speaker 1: I say, in general, they're probably or not they can
- 27:27Speaker 1: be here. Yeah, they can be here.
- 27:30Speaker 3: That's hard I think that. Uh, you know, they're all
- 27:34Speaker 3: different in their own way, frankly, but or not.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Uh.
- 27:37Speaker 3: You know, the things that Terry McLaurin does and and
- 27:40Speaker 3: did is different than the way Crystal Lave plays and
- 27:43Speaker 3: the way Garrett plays Jackson's his whole other animal. And
- 27:47Speaker 3: then Marvin Harrison is his whole other animal. So like
- 27:50Speaker 3: I had picked three, Wow, I don't.
- 27:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean those five are really the.
- 27:55Speaker 3: One the rank them?
- 27:57Speaker 2: Yeah, oh my god, Like what's what's what's the one?
- 28:00Speaker 2: Who's the one scary serry?
- 28:05Speaker 3: I would say, I would say Marvin right now, Marvin
- 28:09Speaker 3: Harrison number one NFL NFL like you know, NFL makeup
- 28:15Speaker 3: NFL prototype, right, yeah, Marvin's that NFL prototype you know. Wow,
- 28:20Speaker 3: three six, four, two oh eight, pushing sub four four.
- 28:24Speaker 4: Probably sophomore last year, right, he's a sophomore, He's got
- 28:26Speaker 4: one more year, he.
- 28:27Speaker 2: Does, he's already he's already projected like top.
- 28:29Speaker 4: Yeah, but you think it's in his best interest to
- 28:31Speaker 4: sit out this year and go to the draft, right,
- 28:34Speaker 4: not not play college.
- 28:36Speaker 3: That's just that's just oh wow, yeah. Yeah, it's a
- 28:38Speaker 3: North conversation there, I'm conversation. No, I mean no, not
- 28:43Speaker 3: absolutely not. I think he says because like he does
- 28:45Speaker 3: have major goals of what he wants to accomplish, you know,
- 28:48Speaker 3: whether it be post team awards, winning rivalries, winning champion.
- 28:52Speaker 2: He does not give that up.
- 28:53Speaker 3: He's an ultimate competitor and if he wasn't doing that,
- 28:56Speaker 3: he wouldn't be who he is.
- 28:57Speaker 2: So they'd be like a total alter that is that
- 28:59Speaker 2: is a fan. I mean, just the way the bass
- 29:02Speaker 2: of a bias. If I don't want to see him
- 29:03Speaker 2: right right, you don't want to mess do whatever he wants.
- 29:07Speaker 2: I hope he gets paid. I hope he makes a
- 29:08Speaker 2: billion dollars. Yeah, brother, you should go sit out, especially
- 29:11Speaker 2: that last one. Yeah. Physical, that game is a little
- 29:13Speaker 2: too physical, you know, yeah, sure, sure, yeah, And.
- 29:17Speaker 3: Then I think you know you have to go Jackson
- 29:21Speaker 3: all right Jackson. And the only reason why I feel
- 29:23Speaker 3: very comfortable saying that is because Chris and Garrett chose
- 29:25Speaker 3: him as well.
- 29:26Speaker 2: So that's their comment on But.
- 29:28Speaker 3: Like when when they were kind of talking about it,
- 29:31Speaker 3: I mean, the things he does, he makes me look
- 29:33Speaker 3: like a really good scoach. And I don't like I
- 29:34Speaker 3: didn't do anything. He just he just was himself. So
- 29:38Speaker 3: but his uh, it's changed changed direction. Ball skills are ridiculous.
- 29:42Speaker 3: Like he's going to be very very very good in
- 29:44Speaker 3: the NFL. Uh, Chris and Garrett, you know they're you know,
- 29:49Speaker 3: Garrett had a hell of a year obviously, Rookie of
- 29:52Speaker 3: the Year. Uh, you probat to give him the nod
- 29:55Speaker 3: just because of that. Then next, you know, and then
- 29:58Speaker 3: it's between Terry and Chris. You know, one was the
- 30:01Speaker 3: eleventh overall pick and one makes twenty three million a year.
- 30:04Speaker 3: I don't know, so it's kind of a coin flip.
- 30:06Speaker 3: I would say that they love Terry up in Washington,
- 30:09Speaker 3: I know, and I gotta sit probably I just probably
- 30:10Speaker 3: say Terry right now because he's done it in the
- 30:13Speaker 3: NFL for three or four plus years.
- 30:15Speaker 2: That's worth his weight and goal on me.
- 30:17Speaker 3: Yeah, a guy doing it one year is one thing
- 30:19Speaker 3: I didn't Chris knows how much I love him. But
- 30:20Speaker 3: you're talking about elite group of dudes there, and I
- 30:23Speaker 3: think that it's easy. It's easy to do it once,
- 30:26Speaker 3: really hard to do it two, three, four or five
- 30:28Speaker 3: more ears like that.
- 30:29Speaker 2: And become a list.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Yeah, like those guys, they they're gonna look and they're
- 30:33Speaker 4: the guys that weren't one. You're they're gonna text you, yeah,
- 30:35Speaker 4: the one they're in a group chat and they can
- 30:37Speaker 4: all yeah yeah. But at the end of the day,
- 30:39Speaker 4: like that's a stud group.
- 30:41Speaker 1: He's named off in Terry becoming a captain to like
- 30:44Speaker 1: obviously I played there, but I don't know him at all.
- 30:47Speaker 1: And the next I student I do still have there,
- 30:49Speaker 1: like they just rave about.
- 30:50Speaker 2: It was from a leadership, wasn't he He might have been. Yeah,
- 30:53Speaker 2: I think like in the middle of the sea he
- 30:55Speaker 2: might have.
- 30:55Speaker 1: I know he called up the team in the middle
- 30:57Speaker 1: of a game and kind of like, you know, thrusted
- 31:01Speaker 1: himself to be like a captain guy. I don't know
- 31:03Speaker 1: if he got to see the first year. I think
- 31:04Speaker 1: mid year he did. Yeah, I know midyear he like
- 31:06Speaker 1: rallied the guys a great man and we gotta have
- 31:09Speaker 1: to do all that the boys.
- 31:10Speaker 2: The boys are just telling me that's goody all right, Yeah,
- 31:13Speaker 2: this has been incredible. Yeah, I'm good. We're gonna do
- 31:15Speaker 2: this again sometime. I love you become head on the.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Bus, yes, yeah, and then he he comes on the bus.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Honestly he makes that leap too. Yeah.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Yeah, man, you want you to be a head coach
- 31:25Speaker 4: on the list we need to press let's go.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Let's say it's been an honor, just like let me know. Yeah,
