The Vale Superstack, once Canada’s second-tallest structure at 381 metres and the world’s tallest power plant chimney, is being demolished — and it’s dropping fast. Since demolition began June 1, it’s already lost 94.5 metres, now standing at 285 metres — shorter than several Toronto skyscrapers. Built in the early 70s, it famously survived a tornado in 1970 with all 25 workers unharmed. Its fate?
