- 0:00Speaker 1: Now, much more Mark.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Mark Simone.
- 0:03Speaker 3: Now, 9 till noon weekdays on 710WOR.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Well, hey, a beautiful sunny day, but only 72 today.
- 0:14Speaker 1: We'll be back in the 80s the rest of the week,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and then summer ends one week from tonight. I hate
- 0:20Speaker 1: to break it to you, but a lot going on.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Stock market is down about 500 points. The reason for that,
- 0:27Speaker 1: the Ten-year treasury yield hit the highest level of investors,
- 0:33Speaker 1: actually traders, worried a Fed rate hike is coming. So
- 0:36Speaker 1: that's a little spook in the market. Also, the price
- 0:40Speaker 1: of oil did spike overnight. It's due to that pipeline.
- 0:45Speaker 1: It's up to almost $ 105 a barrel. That's high. That's
- 0:48Speaker 1: going to be– it takes a week or two of
- 0:51Speaker 1: lag time increase at the pumps. Now, that's because the
- 0:53Speaker 1: hooties are back in action, the Iran-sponsored terrorist group. took
- 0:59Speaker 1: out a Saudi pipeline. They're taking over the Red Sea
- 1:03Speaker 1: shipping route. That's screwing up oil. So that's why the spike.
- 1:06Speaker 1: We'll see what the president does about it. So far,
- 1:09Speaker 1: it doesn't look like he's doing anything about it, but
- 1:11Speaker 1: we'll see what he does. And then that could bring
- 1:15Speaker 1: it down. The president met with all the oil companies
- 1:19Speaker 1: not long ago, the heads of the oil companies. There's
- 1:21Speaker 1: actually no reason for the price of oil to be
- 1:23Speaker 1: up in the United States, logically, because we produce all
- 1:27Speaker 1: our own oil. We don't get any oil out of
- 1:30Speaker 1: the Strait of Hormuz. We don't get any oil out
- 1:33Speaker 1: of the Middle East. When the president got in, he
- 1:36Speaker 1: opened up all the drilling and we now produce more
- 1:39Speaker 1: oil than anybody in the world. We not only have
- 1:43Speaker 1: more oil than we could ever use, we got all
- 1:45Speaker 1: the oil we need. We're actually supplying oil to everybody
- 1:49Speaker 1: in the world. So if we have more oil than
- 1:52Speaker 1: we can ever use, why do we need a price increase? Well,
- 1:54Speaker 1: these oil companies, two reasons. They like to base it
- 1:57Speaker 1: on the worldwide price. And the other reason is, even
- 2:01Speaker 1: though we have all this oil, we don't have enough
- 2:05Speaker 1: refineries to refine it. We might have tons of crude
- 2:09Speaker 1: coming out of the ground, but you need a refinery
- 2:11Speaker 1: to turn it into gasoline. And the problem is, and
- 2:16Speaker 1: I hate to blame Democrats for this, but you are
- 2:18Speaker 1: kind of to blame for this. Over the years, they
- 2:20Speaker 1: stopped allowing anybody to build a refinery everywhere. So we
- 2:25Speaker 1: were stuck at a certain amount of refineries. When we
- 2:28Speaker 1: went to more drilling and more oil, we needed more refineries,
- 2:31Speaker 1: and Democrats and blue states wouldn't allow any refineries. They
- 2:35Speaker 1: decided to make it sound like nuclear plants. We can't
- 2:39Speaker 1: have a refinery here. I mean, I imagine they do
- 2:42Speaker 1: smell a lot, a refinery, and I imagine they do
- 2:45Speaker 1: put some sludge in a river, but you do need them.
- 2:49Speaker 1: So we don't have enough refineries to keep up with
- 2:52Speaker 1: all the oil we got, and that's the problem. Kennedy Center,
- 2:57Speaker 1: looking at bankruptcy possibly. You know, the Kennedy Center was
- 3:02Speaker 1: a mess when Donald Trump took office. An absolute mess.
- 3:09Speaker 1: And it's amazing how, you know, they yell and scream
- 3:10Speaker 1: that he's messing it up. It's amazing how previous administrations
- 3:14Speaker 1: from Bush to Biden to Obama paid no attention to
- 3:21Speaker 1: It's the federal government that runs the Kennedy Center, and
- 3:23Speaker 1: apparently the whole place was decaying, falling apart. And, you know,
- 3:28Speaker 1: when the president came in, and there's nobody more expert
- 3:31Speaker 1: on this. He went through the inner workings of the
- 3:34Speaker 1: building and said this whole building has to be redone. And, again,
- 3:38Speaker 1: he's a world expert on this sort of stuff. He
- 3:41Speaker 1: said the whole underbelly, the whole infrastructure of the building
- 3:45Speaker 1: needs to be replaced, repaired. And it turns out he
- 3:48Speaker 1: was right. It turns out a lot of it. is tremendous,
- 3:52Speaker 1: what they call water intrusion. That's more than water and damage.
- 3:56Speaker 1: It's water intrusion. In other words, as they built the
- 4:00Speaker 1: building and kept fiddling with it and adding on, they
- 4:04Speaker 1: never got the piping system right. So many of these
- 4:07Speaker 1: pipes were just leaking water into everything. So the whole
- 4:10Speaker 1: building at some point will just collapse. They had an
- 4:13Speaker 1: incident about a week ago where a big chunk of
- 4:16Speaker 1: the ceiling collapsed Luckily, it was when the Kennedy Center
- 4:20Speaker 1: was closed because this enormous chunk of the ceiling came
- 4:23Speaker 1: crashing down into the lobby, which is where everybody would
- 4:27Speaker 1: be standing before a show. Luckily, it was closed, so
- 4:30Speaker 1: no injuries, but pretty bad, this stuff. Hey, we're talking
- 4:34Speaker 1: about our crazy mayor, Mamdani. You know, he still hasn't
- 4:37Speaker 1: got a federal security clearance. Been in office nine months. Now,
- 4:42Speaker 1: what does that mean? Well, it means he can't get
- 4:44Speaker 1: briefed on classified information involving terrorism, or other threats to
- 4:49Speaker 1: New York City. Not that he would listen anyway. Now,
- 4:53Speaker 1: he argues that this always takes a year or two
- 4:57Speaker 1: to get a security clearance. I don't know. It took
- 5:00Speaker 1: Bill de Blasio a year. It took Eric Adams a while.
- 5:04Speaker 1: But again, I have a feeling it didn't take Giuliani.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I have a feeling it didn't take Bloomberg a year
- 5:09Speaker 1: to get it done. But now, he also points out
- 5:15Speaker 1: There are a number of senior administration officials who have
- 5:19Speaker 1: the security clearance who can get the briefings, and the
- 5:21Speaker 1: NYPD gets the briefings, and they can brief him if
- 5:25Speaker 1: they have to. But you have to get vetted, and
- 5:28Speaker 1: it's handled by the FBI. And one of these guys
- 5:31Speaker 1: might take their time, de Blasio and Mamdani, because they
- 5:35Speaker 1: don't want too much investigation into their past. Hey, that
- 5:39Speaker 1: Macklemore with his anti-Israel, anti-Semitic crap, was thrown off the
- 5:45Speaker 1: tour by Ed Sheeran. He was on tour with Ed
- 5:49Speaker 1: Sheeran and apparently some venues were objecting to McLemore with
- 5:53Speaker 1: his anti-Semitic nonsense. And so they threw him off the tour.
- 5:58Speaker 1: They don't want to lose any venues. McLemore now blaming
- 6:02Speaker 1: Bob Kraft. Robert Kraft, he said, made these phone calls
- 6:05Speaker 1: and got him kicked off. They were supposed to play
- 6:07Speaker 1: Gillette Stadium, which is owned by the Kraft Group. And
- 6:13Speaker 1: he said Ed Sheeran told him that Kraft wouldn't allow
- 6:16Speaker 1: him into Gillette Stadium. Well, good for Robert Kraft, who's
- 6:20Speaker 1: been fighting anti-Semitism, running a whole campaign against it. Good
- 6:24Speaker 1: for him. Hey, you know, there's 9-11 files that have
- 6:28Speaker 1: never been declassified. President Trump wants to declassify some of them. Apparently,
- 6:35Speaker 1: there's one that told Bill Clinton that Al-Qaeda was present
- 6:40Speaker 1: in the U.S., that they were looking to hijack an airplane,
- 6:44Speaker 1: and loaded with explosives. So this is pretty much 9-11
- 6:49Speaker 1: being planned. This declassified file, there was a warning Clinton
- 6:54Speaker 1: received from intelligence agencies saying that Al-Qaeda members were in
- 6:58Speaker 1: the US. They had even performed a trial run at
- 7:02Speaker 1: a New York airport. Trial run would mean seeing if
- 7:05Speaker 1: they could get through security, get on the plane. And
- 7:09Speaker 1: we do know that the 9-11 hijackers did do that.
- 7:11Speaker 1: They did some trial runs. In the weeks before, you remember,
- 7:16Speaker 1: it was a few weeks before 9-11, Mohammed Adda and
- 7:19Speaker 1: those terrorists did a trial run. They managed to get
- 7:22Speaker 1: through security and get on a plane. And you remember
- 7:24Speaker 1: the actor James Woods saw them and thought they were terrorists.
- 7:29Speaker 1: And he tried to warn people. He tried to warn
- 7:32Speaker 1: the flight crew and the police that these guys look
- 7:36Speaker 1: like terrorists. They were up to something. Nobody listened to him,
- 7:39Speaker 1: but even he spotted it. Also, there's a December 4th,
- 7:46Speaker 1: 1998 intelligence briefing to President Clinton saying bin Laden is
- 7:50Speaker 1: prepared to hijack U.S. aircraft. Some members of the bin
- 7:54Speaker 1: Laden network have received hijack training, according to various sources.
- 8:00Speaker 1: He's planning to use aircraft against the United States. Now,
- 8:03Speaker 1: this is not Bush that got these warnings. This is
- 8:05Speaker 1: Clinton that got these warnings. If you look at the
- 8:07Speaker 1: Bush intelligence briefings, they never said this. This is the
- 8:11Speaker 1: Clinton intelligence briefing. So the president releasing these files so
- 8:16Speaker 1: that everybody could see them. There's also a warning that
- 8:20Speaker 1: bin Laden was mulling an attack on a shopping mall
- 8:24Speaker 1: in Washington, D.C. So, hey, James Bond, Pierce Brosnan. He
- 8:29Speaker 1: was a pretty good James Bond. He was the last,
- 8:32Speaker 1: you know, dashing, witty journalist. charming. Then they went with
- 8:37Speaker 1: the Daniel Craig, sour and nasty looking, rough looking sort
- 8:41Speaker 1: of a character, which if you read the original books
- 8:46Speaker 1: by Ian Fleming, that's the way the character was in
- 8:48Speaker 1: the books. He wasn't Sean Connery or Roger Moore, but
- 8:51Speaker 1: James Bond that was in the original books was Daniel Craig,
- 8:54Speaker 1: you know, rough, somber, not so flashy sort of a guy.
- 8:59Speaker 1: But Pierce Brosnan lives in Malibu, hundred million dollar Malibu
- 9:04Speaker 1: compound in big house and bought up lots near it
- 9:08Speaker 1: and it became a whole compound with different houses 100
- 9:11Speaker 1: million he's got to move he said he has to
- 9:14Speaker 1: get out of there there's earthquakes there's fires the costs
- 9:17Speaker 1: are going through the roof he said living in california
- 9:21Speaker 1: is too expensive now it's too crazy he's living right
- 9:24Speaker 1: next to the pacific ocean he said it's too vulnerable
- 9:28Speaker 1: there to wildfires to earthquakes to sinkholes uh who was
- 9:32Speaker 1: the actor just had a sinkhole Nick Cage, was it
- 9:35Speaker 1: Nick Cage? Sinkhole right at his house. Brosnan's own home
- 9:40Speaker 1: has already had some frightening brushes with flames. There was
- 9:44Speaker 1: a fire that came right near him. It was one
- 9:47Speaker 1: that hit his garage, did a million dollars in damage.
- 9:50Speaker 1: He also said California isn't cheap anymore, too expensive to
- 9:53Speaker 1: live there. And he's getting the hell out of there.
- 9:58Speaker 1: More and more people leaving. California. Blue states, the exodus continues.
- 10:04Speaker 1: You know, when they take the census, they never disqualify illegals.
- 10:11Speaker 1: If you're illegal, you're in the census. You get counted
- 10:14Speaker 1: as part of the population. And why do that? Well, because,
- 10:19Speaker 1: I don't know, I guess you got to know how
- 10:20Speaker 1: many people are actually here. But the problem is they
- 10:23Speaker 1: use the census to decide the congressional districts. So that's
- 10:29Speaker 1: why the Democrats would send plane loads of illegals into
- 10:33Speaker 1: certain areas. You remember those secret planes that were flying
- 10:36Speaker 1: in the middle of the night, dropping off illegals in
- 10:37Speaker 1: certain places? That was to fill up the district and
- 10:42Speaker 1: get another congressional seat that way. They'd pick a blue area,
- 10:45Speaker 1: fly them in, or a red area and fly in
- 10:48Speaker 1: all the illegals to change the demographics. But the Trump
- 10:51Speaker 1: administration wants to stop all that so that in the
- 10:56Speaker 1: citizenship questionnaire, they'd find out right away if you're a citizen,
- 11:00Speaker 1: if you're not a true citizen, an illegal alien, an
- 11:02Speaker 1: illegal citizen, that you wouldn't be counted in the census,
- 11:08Speaker 1: which sounds pretty logical. So they're going to propose this.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Democrats are already planning to challenge it. and try to
- 11:15Speaker 1: block it because they certainly don't want that to happen. Hey,
- 11:18Speaker 1: 60 Minutes, we told you they did this great piece
- 11:21Speaker 1: on the pilot that was trapped behind enemy lines in
- 11:25Speaker 1: Iran that had to be rescued. Dramatic piece. Which is
- 11:30Speaker 1: what the old 60 Minutes used to do. You know,
- 11:31Speaker 1: interview these heroes, do a dramatic little, quick little documentary
- 11:37Speaker 1: on them. So there's another one they should do. A
- 11:39Speaker 1: lot of people are saying they should do the U.S.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Navy SEALs who spent four months underwater, straight of Hormuz.
- 11:47Speaker 1: They're the ones that got the mines out of the water.
- 11:49Speaker 1: You remember, we couldn't go through the strait because all
- 11:51Speaker 1: the mines that were in there would blow up the ships.
- 11:54Speaker 1: So they had to do these dives, mostly in the
- 11:56Speaker 1: middle of the night. Divers had robot boats. They had
- 12:00Speaker 1: special underwater crafts. It was very, very dangerous work. Very dangerous.
- 12:05Speaker 1: But they went in there and they removed thousands of mines.
- 12:08Speaker 1: It would be a great 60 Minutes piece. Fascinating story.
- 12:13Speaker 1: The divers got every last mine out of there. They
- 12:17Speaker 1: cleared the straits. All the mines have been removed. Now,
- 12:21Speaker 1: a lot of them, if they saw a mine, they
- 12:24Speaker 1: would have to send an explosive and blow up the
- 12:26Speaker 1: mine if the mine was impossible to take out. They
- 12:29Speaker 1: would just blow it up down there. But they freed
- 12:33Speaker 1: the Strait of Hormuz for us, so pretty good. A
- 12:37Speaker 1: concert for dogs? Would you take your dog to a concert? No, no,
- 12:40Speaker 1: I don't mean a concert you like. These are concerts
- 12:43Speaker 1: for dogs.
- 12:45Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I don't know. Anybody finds a way to make money
- 12:47Speaker 1: off pets. You know, you used to have a pet.
- 12:51Speaker 1: Didn't cost you that much. Then they figured out how
- 12:53Speaker 1: to make money off pets. So the veterinarians got on
- 12:56Speaker 1: the act. You know, we could do what the regular
- 12:59Speaker 1: medical people do. We'll charge them for CAT scans. We'll
- 13:01Speaker 1: charge them for MRIs. We'll charge them for all this stuff.
- 13:05Speaker 1: And now your pet, the health care costs as much
- 13:08Speaker 1: as a human. It's crazy the cost of taking care
- 13:10Speaker 1: of a pet. So here's a way to make, they're
- 13:12Speaker 1: going to have concerts just for dogs. You'll bring your dog.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Now it has to be dog music. What is dog music? Well,
- 13:19Speaker 1: research has shown that gentle string-based arrangements appeal to dogs.
- 13:25Speaker 1: And they figured out exactly what beat, what tempo, what
- 13:28Speaker 1: pace it looks like. And I don't know if anybody
- 13:32Speaker 1: really believes this, but it says it'll promote relaxation in
- 13:35Speaker 1: your dog. So you bring your dog to the dog
- 13:38Speaker 1: concert and he's supposed to be in a better mood
- 13:40Speaker 1: for the rest of the week. Hey, that OpenAI, all
- 13:46Speaker 1: these AI companies, I told you, they're loaded up with
- 13:49Speaker 1: all those CIA guys that were involved in the Russia hoax,
- 13:52Speaker 1: all these political dirty tricksters. They're very tangled up with Democrats. Now,
- 13:57Speaker 1: OpenAI just hired Chuck Schumer's daughter. Yeah, that's right. Jessica
- 14:04Speaker 1: Schumer suddenly gets a big job with OpenAI to handle
- 14:08Speaker 1: the company's government outreach.
- 14:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Lobby through Chuck Schumer. So this is what you got
- 14:16Speaker 1: to be careful. Be very weary of these AI companies.
- 14:19Speaker 1: As we told you before, this whole thing about them
- 14:22Speaker 1: warning everybody how dangerous it is, calling for regulation.
- 14:26Speaker 3: I know.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Whenever you hear tech guys, tech CEOs trying to sound
- 14:29Speaker 1: like saints, trying to sound noble, be very leery. And
- 14:34Speaker 1: what industry calls for a regulation? It's all a bit
- 14:39Speaker 1: of a PSYOP operation. Again, they got a lot of
- 14:44Speaker 1: CIA guys working. The same guys that were in the
- 14:47Speaker 1: Russia hoax. The same guys that covered up the laptop.
- 14:51Speaker 1: They're all working for these AI companies. Obama has been
- 14:55Speaker 1: carefully coordinating this. A couple of reasons. One, they want
- 14:59Speaker 1: to make it the new climate change. The fear of
- 15:01Speaker 1: AI is going to be the new climate change that
- 15:04Speaker 1: to think Republicans will be on the wrong side. Democrats
- 15:07Speaker 1: can use it to win. So that's one reason. The
- 15:09Speaker 1: other reason, the reason these AI companies want to jump in,
- 15:12Speaker 1: they would like government to take over and put in
- 15:15Speaker 1: regulations and red tape because these four or five AI
- 15:18Speaker 1: companies already dominate. They already control AI. So they're not
- 15:23Speaker 1: looking for any newcomers. They're not looking for any new startups,
- 15:26Speaker 1: new company. They don't want anybody new getting in. That's
- 15:28Speaker 1: why they want the government to sort of close the fence,
- 15:30Speaker 1: close the gate. So, These guys can control it. Nobody
- 15:34Speaker 1: else can get in. Hey, we'll take some calls next.
- 15:36Speaker 1: 800-321-0710 is the number. 800-321-0710. Hey, let's take some calls.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Let's go to Rich in Myrtle Beach.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Rich.
- 15:51Speaker 3: Hey, thanks, Mark. How you doing?
- 15:52Speaker 1: We got some complaints about you yesterday saying it was
- 15:55Speaker 1: 100 degrees there. It wasn't 100.
- 15:56Speaker 3: No, I said it was going to be 100. It
- 15:58Speaker 3: was not going to be 100.
- 16:00Speaker 1: We checked. It was not going to be 100. That
- 16:02Speaker 1: was never in the record.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Mark, we set a new record yesterday. The old record
- 16:06Speaker 3: was 90 degrees for September 14th of 2020.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Never hit 100. Never hit 100.
- 16:10Speaker 3: It was 94 degrees, and it felt like 104. You
- 16:13Speaker 3: didn't say it felt like. Yeah, the high today there, 85.
- 16:14Speaker 1: Tomorrow, 84.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Mid-80s.
- 16:19Speaker 3: The high yesterday was 94 and felt like 104. It
- 16:23Speaker 3: was a brand new record.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Don't say 100 degrees. We got all kinds of complaints
- 16:28Speaker 1: from North Carolina about this.
- 16:30Speaker 3: Nah, nobody's calling you. It was probably Joe Bob. Sorry.
- 16:33Speaker 3: We did. We did.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Anyway, let's go to David in Connecticut. David, how you doing?
- 16:40Speaker 3: Good, Mark. You were talking about the malls. I just
- 16:43Speaker 3: want to let you know there's a crystal mall here
- 16:44Speaker 3: in Waterford, New London area that General K spot out. And, um,
- 16:49Speaker 3: They're going to train for building dynamics by electric boat.
- 16:54Speaker 1: Oh, okay. Call us back. It's not your fault. There's
- 16:56Speaker 1: something going on with our phone line. It's cutting you off.
- 16:58Speaker 1: It's a little choppy there. Let's go to Michelle in Northport. Michelle,
- 17:02Speaker 1: how are you doing?
- 17:04Speaker 6: Hey, I'm good, Mark. So great to speak to you.
- 17:07Speaker 6: I'm just calling because I had some exciting news about
- 17:10Speaker 6: Bruce Blakeman.
- 17:11Speaker 3: Go ahead.
- 17:11Speaker 6: He is going to be coming up to the Catskills.
- 17:14Speaker 6: He's coming up to the Delaware Youth Center on October
- 17:18Speaker 6: 3rd in Calicoon.
- 17:20Speaker 3: New York. Oh, that's great.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Now give us the exciting news.
- 17:25Speaker 6: That's the exciting news. That's the exciting news.
- 17:29Speaker 3: Come on.
- 17:30Speaker 6: He thinks about the whole state.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I don't know if you know this, but he campaigns.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I don't know if you know this. He's campaigning every
- 17:35Speaker 1: day all over the state. He makes hundreds of campaign
- 17:38Speaker 1: stops a week. He does this all the time.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Okay. All right. Well, I don't know.
- 17:43Speaker 6: We're organizing it, so I'm kind of excited about it.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Oh, okay.
- 17:47Speaker 1: See, you're behind it.
- 17:48Speaker 6: So I just wanted to get it out there.
- 17:49Speaker 1: Are you up in the Catskills?
- 17:52Speaker 6: I live in Northport, but I have a home in Narrowsburg.
- 17:55Speaker 6: I've been going there my whole life, so yes.
- 17:57Speaker 1: And what goes on nowadays in the Catskills? They don't
- 18:00Speaker 1: have those big Concord and Grossingers. What goes on now
- 18:03Speaker 1: in the Catskills?
- 18:05Speaker 6: No, but I got to say, Narrowsburg is now, like,
- 18:08Speaker 6: according to Town and Leisure, is the number one town
- 18:11Speaker 6: in the Catskills, and there's a lot of, you know,
- 18:13Speaker 6: it's a lot of little hotels are opening and Airbnbs
- 18:18Speaker 6: and restaurants, and it's really lively and a lot of
- 18:20Speaker 6: concerts and A lot of things. When I was growing
- 18:23Speaker 6: up and going up there, we just went up to
- 18:25Speaker 6: a little town. There wasn't too much happening. But, yeah,
- 18:28Speaker 6: it's a lot of great restaurants, a lot of great businesses,
- 18:31Speaker 6: and a lot to see and support.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 18:35Speaker 6: This is coming up, and we're really excited.
- 18:37Speaker 1: But to get to Narrowsburg, you would have to drive
- 18:41Speaker 1: by 50,000 great restaurants in every town all the way
- 18:43Speaker 1: up there. Through Westchester?
- 18:45Speaker 6: Yes, yes, yes. Yes, you know, but it's beautiful. You
- 18:49Speaker 6: have the Delaware River and you have the mountains and,
- 18:53Speaker 6: you know, it's a great place to see.
- 18:55Speaker 1: All right. It sounds good. Thanks for calling Narrowsburg. I
- 18:58Speaker 1: never even heard of that. Let's go to Bill in Brooklyn. Bill,
- 19:01Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 19:03Speaker 3: Hi, Mark. Mark, you know what James Bond's first kill was?
- 19:06Speaker 3: You know, we had that double O license to kill.
- 19:08Speaker 3: It was in New York City. It was in New
- 19:11Speaker 3: York City.
- 19:12Speaker 1: Well, there was one short story where he comes to
- 19:14Speaker 1: New York just to assassinate somebody in Rockefeller Center.
- 19:17Speaker 3: That's right. The RCA building. Very good. Yeah, it was
- 19:20Speaker 3: in Ian Fleming's first book, Casino Royale.
- 19:22Speaker 7: He mentions this.
- 19:23Speaker 1: Yeah, but it was later an actual short story. Later,
- 19:27Speaker 1: he put out a collection of short stories, and there
- 19:29Speaker 1: was one about Bond coming to New York just to
- 19:32Speaker 1: kill somebody.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Uh-huh.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Just to kill. Remember Carrie Limousine? He actually rented a
- 19:37Speaker 1: Carrie car to.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Get there, RCA building, shoot somebody through a window and then.
- 19:42Speaker 3: A Japanese codebreaker.
- 19:44Speaker 7: He shot him right with a sniper rifle through his
- 19:47Speaker 7: mouth from an adjacent building.
- 19:48Speaker 1: All right, don't get graphic. It's almost lunchtime, but thanks
- 19:51Speaker 1: for calling. You know, the first Bond movie was Doctor No.
- 19:59Speaker 1: And it's the only Bond movie where James Bond just
- 20:02Speaker 1: shoots somebody. Not in a gunfight. Just goes in and
- 20:05Speaker 1: assassinates somebody. It was the first movie, Doctor No. He's
- 20:10Speaker 1: waiting in this guy, what was his name, Strangways or something.
- 20:13Speaker 1: He's waiting in the guy's hotel room and the guy
- 20:15Speaker 1: comes and Bond has the gun out and he makes
- 20:17Speaker 1: him sit down, talks to him for a minute and
- 20:19Speaker 1: he just shoots him in the head. And that's what
- 20:22Speaker 1: a guy like James Bond would do, license to kill.
- 20:24Speaker 1: He would have to go, he'd be sent to kill somebody.
- 20:26Speaker 1: But they decided, and remember the first movie, Dr. No,
- 20:31Speaker 1: nobody knew what James Bond was. It hadn't taken off yet.
- 20:33Speaker 1: But they decided it didn't look right for him to
- 20:35Speaker 1: shoot somebody in cold blood. So they never did it again.
- 20:38Speaker 1: That was the only time In any Bond movie, I just,
- 20:41Speaker 1: in cold blood, just shot somebody. Let's go to Blauvelt
- 20:44Speaker 1: in Florida. Blauvelt, how you doing?
- 20:47Speaker 4: Mark Simone, good morning.
- 20:48Speaker 3: How are you? Good.
- 20:51Speaker 4: Hey, you make me laugh so hard. I love your
- 20:54Speaker 4: sense of humor. But on another note... There were two
- 20:59Speaker 4: calls that you had on 9-11. That one girl, Jennifer,
- 21:04Speaker 4: and then right after that, Dr. Bob. I'm listening to it.
- 21:08Speaker 4: I'm driving home, and I was in tears. I played
- 21:11Speaker 4: it again that night for my wife, and she was
- 21:15Speaker 4: in tears. It was just... I mean, there's so many
- 21:18Speaker 4: sad stories, good stories.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yeah, but she was quite a caller telling her story
- 21:23Speaker 1: of heroism.
- 21:25Speaker 4: It was the call of the year. You hit the
- 21:26Speaker 4: nail on the head.
- 21:27Speaker 1: All right, thanks for calling. Let's go to Stanley, South Carolina. Stanley,
- 21:31Speaker 1: how you doing?
- 21:33Speaker 7: Yeah, Mark, all these municipalities need money. They got the
- 21:38Speaker 7: clocks on, streetlights and red lights and all that. Why
- 21:43Speaker 7: doesn't Trump deputize all the cops? And give the city
- 21:46Speaker 7: five grand for each illegal that they get out of here.
- 21:49Speaker 1: That's a great idea. I don't know what the hell
- 21:52Speaker 1: he was talking about. Did you understand that? I don't
- 21:56Speaker 1: understand anything he just said. Hey, when we come back,
- 21:58Speaker 1: Bill O'Reilly will be with us next. We've got a
- 22:00Speaker 1: lot to talk to him about on 710WOR. But first,
- 22:05Speaker 1: let's get all the latest news. Here's Daria Albinger.
- 22:07Speaker 2: Hey, Mark, there are already limits on artificial intelligence in
- 22:10Speaker 2: New York City public schools, but a lot of parents
- 22:13Speaker 2: and teachers say that isn't enough. They want more restrictions
- 22:16Speaker 2: on screen time in general while the kids are in class.
- 22:19Speaker 2: The city council will address that in a hearing this afternoon.
- 22:22Speaker 2: FBI Director Kash Patel told the Senate Judiciary Committee that
- 22:25Speaker 2: the bureau is bringing down crime more on his watch
- 22:28Speaker 2: than in the last administration. He's answering members' questions as
- 22:32Speaker 2: they conduct their annual review of the FBI. The Fed's
- 22:35Speaker 2: Open Market Committee has begun its latest two-day policy meeting.
- 22:39Speaker 2: Analysts expect the central bank to adjourn tomorrow, hiking interest
- 22:42Speaker 2: rates by a quarter point. The polls are open in
- 22:45Speaker 2: Delaware for today's primary. It's the last one before the midterms.
- 22:49Speaker 2: And the checks in the mail or a direct deposit
- 22:51Speaker 2: may be headed to a bank account of New Jersey
- 22:53Speaker 2: residents who applied for the Anchor Property Tax Relief Program.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Eligible residents can still apply online. until November 2nd. Next news,
- 23:02Speaker 2: 12 o'clock bulletins at once. Wake up with Curtis Sliwa
- 23:04Speaker 2: and Larry Menti. Six to nine weekdays. I'm Daria Albinger
- 23:08Speaker 2: on 710WOR.

- 23:50Speaker 6: Restrictions apply. Jesse Kelly.
- 23:51Speaker 1: Communists destroy your history.
- 23:53Speaker 6: Mark Simone.
- 23:54Speaker 1: He's on 710 WOR. Hey, we've been telling you for
- 24:00Speaker 1: weeks about Bill O'Reilly's new book. It might be his
- 24:03Speaker 1: best book ever. It's called Confronting America, and it takes
- 24:06Speaker 1: you through the last few decades. It's a powerful book,
- 24:10Speaker 1: Confronting America, Bill O'Reilly's new book. It's out today. You
- 24:13Speaker 1: can get it right now. It's available right now wherever
- 24:16Speaker 1: you get books. Of course, you can go to BillOReilly.com
- 24:19Speaker 1: where you can get his podcast, the TV show. But
- 24:23Speaker 1: order the book, Confronting America, and, of course, watch his
- 24:27Speaker 1: YouTube channel. Bill O'Reilly, how you doing?
- 24:31Speaker 3: I'm hanging up there, Mark. How are you? Good.
- 24:34Speaker 1: So the book comes out today. And tell us about
- 24:37Speaker 1: the book again. I found it riveting. It's not just
- 24:39Speaker 1: America's story.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Well, it's eyewitness history. It's what I've seen in my
- 24:43Speaker 3: more than 50 years of journalism. And with an emphasis
- 24:48Speaker 3: on problem solving. So I'm sure you feel the same
- 24:54Speaker 3: way I do. I'm so tired of these politicians saying,
- 24:58Speaker 3: coming out and going, we're going to do, we're going
- 25:00Speaker 3: to do, we're going to do, and then they do
- 25:02Speaker 3: absolutely nothing. And the truth is that many of these
- 25:06Speaker 3: problems cannot be solved by the government. So let's take affordability,
- 25:12Speaker 3: which is the big headline for the Democratic Party this year, affordability.
- 25:17Speaker 3: So what are you going to do? How are you
- 25:20Speaker 3: going to make things more affordable for the working American? Silenced.
- 25:25Speaker 3: You've been in California lately? That's a Democratic run, top
- 25:29Speaker 3: to bottom. Any affordability out there at all? Have you
- 25:31Speaker 3: seen any affordability? No. No? Okay, so I'm tired of that,
- 25:38Speaker 3: and it's getting me even angry. So in confronting America,
- 25:44Speaker 3: I say, here is the problem, okay? Drug addiction. Here's
- 25:49Speaker 3: how to solve the problem. Now, most of these politicians
- 25:53Speaker 3: will run the other way. They'll scream in on the
- 25:55Speaker 3: guts to do it. But we back it up, all
- 25:59Speaker 3: of my problem-solving stuff, with facts and people who have
- 26:04Speaker 3: done certain things to make life better in America. And
- 26:09Speaker 3: so that's what it's about. It's not ideological, although I
- 26:12Speaker 3: did send a book to three liberal friends and three
- 26:15Speaker 3: conservative friends. And the conservatives were not really right-wingers. They're
- 26:20Speaker 3: more moderates. uh, traditionals and same thing with the liberals.
- 26:23Speaker 3: They weren't socialists and the left guys hated the book.
- 26:28Speaker 3: They hated it. And the right guys read it in
- 26:32Speaker 3: a day. And the re and I said, well, what
- 26:35Speaker 3: do you mean? It's not boring. I'm telling you stories forever.
- 26:39Speaker 3: Telling you stories about everybody, uh, from Barack Obama to
- 26:43Speaker 3: Donald Trump. You know, I'm there in the room. I'm there. Okay. Okay.
- 26:49Speaker 3: They didn't like it because the book is heavy on
- 26:53Speaker 3: individual behavior. That is what we have to get back to.
- 27:03Speaker 3: So when you and I were raised, I'm a little
- 27:05Speaker 3: older than you, but in our homes and our neighborhoods,
- 27:10Speaker 3: we were held accountable for what we did, especially if
- 27:16Speaker 3: it was bad. That's gone. Now it's excuse after excuse
- 27:21Speaker 3: after excuse after excuse, and you can do the most
- 27:24Speaker 3: heinous things to other people, and you're not punished. Look
- 27:27Speaker 3: at this nut who ran on the field, Yankee Stadium,
- 27:31Speaker 3: with the Palestinian flag. You know what happened to him? No.
- 27:35Speaker 3: He got a ticket. He could have been driving 35
- 27:40Speaker 3: in a 25 in front of a school in Mandan.
- 27:46Speaker 3: He would have given them the same ticket. You got
- 27:49Speaker 3: a ticket and nothing's going to happen. They'll drop it.
- 27:54Speaker 3: They're not going to go through with it. And he's
- 27:56Speaker 3: not going to pay it. And once you have that
- 28:00Speaker 3: kind of a thing going on where there's no accountability
- 28:04Speaker 3: at all on a personal level, I'm tired of it.
- 28:09Speaker 3: And that's why I wrote the book.
- 28:10Speaker 1: No, it's a great book.
- 28:11Speaker 3: I've read it.
- 28:12Speaker 1: It's confronting America. It's out. Order it today. You can
- 28:15Speaker 1: go to a bookstore and buy it today. Uh, It's
- 28:19Speaker 1: available wherever you get your books. Bill O'Reilly's new book,
- 28:21Speaker 1: Confronting America. And you mentioned Obama. I remember that interview
- 28:26Speaker 1: you did with him. But before and after the interview,
- 28:29Speaker 1: what was your impression of him? What kind of guy
- 28:31Speaker 1: was he?
- 28:31Speaker 3: You know, I admired that he came from nothing. He
- 28:35Speaker 3: had a hippie mother who was running around Indonesia. No father.
- 28:39Speaker 3: Father split. I think the day he was born, I
- 28:42Speaker 3: think the father split Hawaii. I admired that. And he
- 28:45Speaker 3: worked his way up to the presidency. But I remember
- 28:49Speaker 3: my defining conversation with President Obama, and I had a
- 28:53Speaker 3: few on and off the air. And he goes, you know, Bill,
- 28:57Speaker 3: you're not really responsible for your success. Huh? I swear
- 29:03Speaker 3: to God. And he goes, the government, we helped you
- 29:11Speaker 3: do that a lot. And I looked at him, Mr. President,
- 29:14Speaker 3: I said, no government ever person has ever helped me
- 29:20Speaker 3: ever except taking my money all right away from me
- 29:24Speaker 3: i said i get your drift that i have the
- 29:29Speaker 3: right to pursue happiness and there are pathways to success
- 29:32Speaker 3: in america that don't exist in many other countries all
- 29:35Speaker 3: right but i had to do it i had to
- 29:38Speaker 3: come out of levittown and make a success or a
- 29:42Speaker 3: failure on my own. And everybody cutting my front lawn saying, hey, Bill,
- 29:48Speaker 3: why don't you do this today? And that is the
- 29:52Speaker 3: mindset that, oh, no, no, no. If you're successful or affluent,
- 30:00Speaker 3: You owe us. You owe us in Washington. No, I don't.
- 30:05Speaker 3: I owe you the law. You're taxing me up to
- 30:09Speaker 3: my eyebrows now. If Hochul wins, you're going to tax
- 30:12Speaker 3: even more. And that's obviously driving people out of the state.
- 30:16Speaker 3: I mean, come on. You can't pay any more. Yet
- 30:24Speaker 3: they want more and more and more and more, and
- 30:26Speaker 3: they waste, waste, waste. So anyway, that was my conversation with,
- 30:31Speaker 3: and he just sees it like the government did all
- 30:34Speaker 3: of this for you, and now you've got to give back.
- 30:37Speaker 3: And I say, the government is not my mom. The
- 30:40Speaker 3: government didn't drive me to hockey practice. Okay? Jeez. But
- 30:46Speaker 3: that was an interesting conversation. Yeah.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Well, that's the kind of stuff you'll read in the book.
- 30:50Speaker 1: It's a fascinating book. Confronting America. It just came out today.
- 30:53Speaker 1: You can get it today. You can walk into a
- 30:55Speaker 1: bookstore and walk out with it, or you can. Order
- 30:57Speaker 1: it on Amazon. It'll come right away. Bill O'Reilly's new book,
- 31:01Speaker 1: Confronting America. You know, these studies that look at the
- 31:04Speaker 1: affordability problem, a lot of them show the big expense
- 31:07Speaker 1: that most people have is taxes. That's a big, enormous
- 31:11Speaker 1: percentage of their expense. So wouldn't that be the first
- 31:15Speaker 1: thing you do is cut taxes if there's affordability problems?
- 31:18Speaker 3: Well, I just don't get it. So the Democrats are
- 31:23Speaker 3: on affordability, affordability, affordability. And they're going to raise taxes.
- 31:29Speaker 3: There'll be a cap. So if you earn less than.
- 31:33Speaker 4: $ 40, 000.
- 31:34Speaker 3: You'll get away. You won't have to pay. But everybody
- 31:38Speaker 3: else in the $ 100, 000 to $ 200, 000 range, which is where
- 31:43Speaker 3: most Americans are or are heading anyway, they're going to
- 31:46Speaker 3: get it. So that's affordability. That's going to help you
- 31:50Speaker 3: pay the utility bill. The government taking more of you.
- 31:54Speaker 3: We're already getting taxed on your utility bill. You're getting
- 31:58Speaker 3: taxed on everything. Everything. And then they run around going, oh, affordability. No,
- 32:05Speaker 3: we're the party of affordability. They can raise taxes again
- 32:09Speaker 3: on everything. And you just sit there and you go, oh,
- 32:13Speaker 3: my God. And one of the things I wanted to
- 32:15Speaker 3: mention to the WOR audience is one of the things
- 32:18Speaker 3: I have in the book is I had a a
- 32:22Speaker 3: really good solution to poverty, and particularly children in poverty,
- 32:28Speaker 3: and young boys who are out of control, who commit
- 32:32Speaker 3: most of the crimes, not only in New York, but
- 32:36Speaker 3: all over the country. And I couldn't get it done.
- 32:41Speaker 3: And I had it. And Paul McCartney was involved. Bono
- 32:45Speaker 3: was involved. Obama was involved. I had it. And that
- 32:51Speaker 3: would have raised so much money to help these poor
- 32:55Speaker 3: kids without any tax on anybody. And it didn't happen.
- 33:02Speaker 3: And where do you see why? It was an amazing experience.
- 33:08Speaker 3: So that's, you know, it's personal history. Nothing in there
- 33:13Speaker 3: that I wasn't present for. No theory, no ideology. This
- 33:18Speaker 3: is what I saw. This is what I did. And
- 33:22Speaker 3: a lot of people aren't going to like it.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I thought it was a great book. It's really interesting reading.
- 33:28Speaker 1: It's Confronting America, Bill O'Reilly's new book. It's out today.
- 33:31Speaker 1: You can actually walk into the store and walk out
- 33:33Speaker 1: with it, or you can go to Amazon. You can
- 33:36Speaker 1: download it right into your Kindle. Confronting America, Bill O'Reilly's
- 33:39Speaker 1: new book. It's out today. Hey, we only got like
- 33:42Speaker 1: a minute left. President Trump with that $ 5, 000 check to
- 33:46Speaker 1: every American. Apparently that wasn't in the teleprompter. It wasn't
- 33:49Speaker 1: in the script. He just blurted that out.
- 33:51Speaker 3: What a shock, right?
- 33:55Speaker 1: What is he doing when he does that?
- 33:57Speaker 3: Well, look, it's not as absurd as people say it is,
- 34:01Speaker 3: but he's got to put out the numbers. So if
- 34:04Speaker 3: the government has raised all of this money through the
- 34:07Speaker 3: tariffs and all that money is flown into the treasury,
- 34:11Speaker 3: let's see it. How much money? How better off are
- 34:18Speaker 3: we in your second term than we were under Biden
- 34:22Speaker 3: as far as trade is concerned? How much money are
- 34:25Speaker 3: we making? That's the flaw of the Trump administration. They
- 34:29Speaker 3: don't get specific. You have a big chart out there.
- 34:34Speaker 3: This is how much money the tariffs are bringing in.
- 34:37Speaker 3: This is why it's beneficial to you. It is creating
- 34:40Speaker 3: more jobs. There's no question about that. But is it
- 34:42Speaker 3: driving prices down? Not yet because of Iran. But he
- 34:48Speaker 3: just says stuff and he doesn't back it up, which
- 34:51Speaker 3: lets his enemies run wild. And, you know, he ought
- 34:57Speaker 3: to have just some guy following him around with a
- 35:00Speaker 3: big card. So we don't have to go through this
- 35:06Speaker 3: every three days.
- 35:08Speaker 1: But he's got 10 guys to do that and follow
- 35:09Speaker 1: him around. But he still does it anyway.
- 35:11Speaker 3: He's going to do it no matter what. But if
- 35:14Speaker 3: the Republicans want to prosper, and I'm not a party apparatchik,
- 35:21Speaker 3: they've got to rush in after he says stuff like
- 35:24Speaker 3: that and explain it down to the micro level. It's
- 35:29Speaker 3: $ 1. 2 trillion that he's committed for the $ 5, 000 checks. Well,
- 35:34Speaker 3: if the tariffs have brought in $ 12 trillion. Yeah. Okay.
- 35:40Speaker 3: If they brought in 12, then that's not a burden. Oh,
- 35:44Speaker 3: but we don't know how much the tariffs are brought in. Yeah.
- 35:47Speaker 3: And that's the flaw. Yeah.
- 35:50Speaker 1: Well, uh, we're out of time, but everybody get bill
- 35:52Speaker 1: O'Reilly's latest book. You're going to love this book. It's
- 35:54Speaker 1: confronting America. It's all sorts of great stories. It takes
- 35:58Speaker 1: you through the last few decades. It's available right now.
- 36:01Speaker 1: You can download it right in your Kindle. You can
- 36:03Speaker 1: go in a bookstore and walk out with it, or
- 36:05Speaker 1: you can just order it on Amazon and, Bill O'Reilly's
- 36:08Speaker 1: new book, Confronting America, released today. And, of course, go
- 36:13Speaker 1: to BillOReilly.com. You can get the podcast. You can get
- 36:16Speaker 1: the TV show. And you can get this column, everything there.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Bill O'Reilly, congratulations on the new book. Thanks for being
- 36:23Speaker 1: with us.
