- 0:03Speaker 1: Bulet Cap podcast. We got a special guest in here, Zilifa.
- 0:07Speaker 2: Two. Let's go maybe thank you for having me.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Hello, you're in LA defending your title? Eh? How many
- 0:16Speaker 1: titles you got? Because I feel like you're missing a
- 0:18Speaker 1: title at least.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I am man. I'm also the fourth rope champion over there.
- 0:24Speaker 1: So for people who don't know, if you're not a
- 0:26Speaker 1: wrestling fan and you're watching this because you're you would
- 0:28Speaker 1: be considered I think you're the biggest independent wrestler in
- 0:32Speaker 1: the country at least right Like, I feel like in
- 0:34Speaker 1: the US, you are the guy who's headlining every show.
- 0:39Speaker 1: You know, if there's a big weekend the ww has,
- 0:42Speaker 1: there's all the indie shows to follow, and you are
- 0:44Speaker 1: the face of those shows.
- 0:46Speaker 2: What is it like?
- 0:48Speaker 1: The territory game is not what it was like when
- 0:50Speaker 1: when we read about kind of the eighties and the
- 0:52Speaker 1: early nineties. So there's all these different promotions. You're able
- 0:56Speaker 1: to hold titles simultaneously in different promotions for different company.
- 1:01Speaker 1: So what like kind of break down the politics of that?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Because I'm like, there's people who are watching these who
- 1:05Speaker 1: are not wrestling fans. They're gonna be like, Yo, what
- 1:07Speaker 1: is what is hog what is Fourth Rowe.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Like, so obviously you guys have WWE and then you
- 1:14Speaker 2: have the other you know, aw whatever, these major platforms TNA.
- 1:19Speaker 2: So I'm on, Uh the indis you know, quote unquote,
- 1:23Speaker 2: that's our linguo for wrestlers in this wrestling world. And
- 1:26Speaker 2: it's the independent circuit where wrestlers that don't have no
- 1:29Speaker 2: contract nothing, and we can work, we can go work anywhere.
- 1:33Speaker 1: You're like a mercenary.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. And these promotions they have, uh, these promotions
- 1:39Speaker 2: are obviously they're produced from New York, different places. Fourth
- 1:43Speaker 2: Rope is in Buffalo, New York. Yeah, uh so they
- 1:46Speaker 2: all come from different places. And you know, with certain promotions,
- 1:51Speaker 2: were able to book you know, your your dream matches
- 1:55Speaker 2: rather if it's a you know, atleastair black versus carrying
- 1:57Speaker 2: across you, you would be able to see that at
- 1:59Speaker 2: these motions, right. So and then yeah, that's what it is.
- 2:03Speaker 2: It's all these independent contractors, all these independent wrestlers on
- 2:08Speaker 2: this independent show where we don't you know, have a
- 2:10Speaker 2: deal or no contract. And yeah, I'm the face of
- 2:14Speaker 2: House of Glory and for Rupe.
- 2:16Speaker 1: So give me for people who don't know your background,
- 2:19Speaker 1: your dad was umaga. Yes, sir, who is a legend
- 2:23Speaker 1: you were a part of. I guess we could call
- 2:25Speaker 1: like the Royalist Family of wrestling now and then. Right
- 2:28Speaker 1: now your family is running like three storylines on TV
- 2:31Speaker 1: at the moment. But let's kind of go back a little.
- 2:35Speaker 1: You're a kid. You end up getting into trouble around
- 2:38Speaker 1: the age of fifteen, and you had to go sit
- 2:41Speaker 1: down for six years, yes, sir, fifteen year old in
- 2:44Speaker 1: an adult penitentiary, Yes, sir, this Texas.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so I went to TyC. I went that I
- 2:49Speaker 2: went through when I was fifteen, I was fighting two
- 2:52Speaker 2: aggravated robbery cases. And whenever I took it by trial
- 2:57Speaker 2: by judge instead of trial by jury, the judge ended
- 3:01Speaker 2: up giving me ten years damn. Yeah. My first offer
- 3:04Speaker 2: was thirty five years. Yeah, And I was like, Bret, no,
- 3:06Speaker 2: you're gonna have to go back in there and drop
- 3:08Speaker 2: that mug to a ten years.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Probation, right.
- 3:11Speaker 2: But you know, the judge they didn't want to send
- 3:13Speaker 2: me home because due to how serious my case was.
- 3:16Speaker 2: They was like, nah, you gotta go sit down. You
- 3:18Speaker 2: got to go sit down and do some time and learn.
- 3:20Speaker 2: And you know, at that time, I was like, I
- 3:23Speaker 2: was fifteen loss and sauce. I didn't even know what
- 3:25Speaker 2: to do with my life. Shit, I didn't even know,
- 3:27Speaker 2: you know, if I even had a morale compass, right,
- 3:31Speaker 2: you know, so I was just moving just cuzin you know.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Obviously when I came home, man, it was it was
- 3:38Speaker 2: hard for me to find a job. Yeah, and then yeah.
- 3:41Speaker 1: You're convicted felon right now.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I know.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I don't think people understand. That's like a like a
- 3:46Speaker 1: something that people who move around with it. It's like
- 3:48Speaker 1: a scarlet letter.
- 3:49Speaker 2: No, it is. It is because you know, when we
- 3:51Speaker 2: go apply to these jobs, man, like everything goes good,
- 3:55Speaker 2: everything's okay, yeah, boom boom, and then you get to
- 3:57Speaker 2: that last box, that last one where it's like are
- 4:00Speaker 2: you a convicted felon? And then you know, that's that's
- 4:03Speaker 2: what always messed me up. But then, uh, obviously when
- 4:07Speaker 2: I woke up one day, I was like, man, I
- 4:08Speaker 2: need to figure something out. I need to do something
- 4:11Speaker 2: with my life. I can't just sit here. And I
- 4:14Speaker 2: was like, hey, wrestling, you know, and we're always told
- 4:17Speaker 2: growing up that wrestling was always going to be an option, like.
- 4:19Speaker 1: It's always there for you.
- 4:20Speaker 2: Just yeah, just go do other stuff, go do other stuff.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And I always had it in my mind. You know.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I told my mom. I was like, I want to wrestle.
- 4:28Speaker 2: She was like, boy, shut up, go back to eating
- 4:30Speaker 2: your food. I was like, nah, mam, for real. And
- 4:32Speaker 2: then she was like, Okay, well we have to call
- 4:34Speaker 2: Booger T and go from there, and then you know,
- 4:36Speaker 2: the rest is history.
- 4:38Speaker 1: So you were running around just because I feel like
- 4:42Speaker 1: you were the like me, and you were talking a
- 4:44Speaker 1: little bit uh in Vegas. You're you have a different
- 4:47Speaker 1: experience than some of your other family members because I
- 4:49Speaker 1: feel like we always associate the USO's and you are
- 4:52Speaker 1: family with the Bay Area, but you were like Texas favor. Yeah.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It's also like a different vibe of like street culture,
- 5:03Speaker 1: low key facts. So you lose your dad, do you
- 5:07Speaker 1: just kind of get to the point where you're like,
- 5:09Speaker 1: I just you don't know what else to do. You
- 5:12Speaker 1: don't have an outlet, so you end up hanging out
- 5:13Speaker 1: with the wrong people.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what That's exactly what it was. And then
- 5:17Speaker 2: you know, I started skipping school and the only time
- 5:20Speaker 2: I go to school is for football, Like that's that
- 5:22Speaker 2: was the only class. I was passing football And the
- 5:24Speaker 2: craziest thing was they were still letting me play. You
- 5:27Speaker 2: had to be good then, Yeah I was great. I
- 5:29Speaker 2: was the best one in my district. So the fact
- 5:31Speaker 2: that I was still you know, failing my classes and
- 5:33Speaker 2: my coaches was like still like you know, putting a
- 5:36Speaker 2: foot down in the office, like now that you guys
- 5:38Speaker 2: need to let if you guys want to win, you
- 5:39Speaker 2: let him play, right. And then you know, one thing
- 5:41Speaker 2: led to another. I started skipping school and then you know,
- 5:44Speaker 2: they wasn't trying to hear that. It was like, now
- 5:45Speaker 2: we got to kick him off just so you know,
- 5:47Speaker 2: other students can learn. And then yeah, I started hanging
- 5:51Speaker 2: around the wrong crowd, and then I started bro I
- 5:53Speaker 2: just started, you know, get into drugs too, and and
- 5:59Speaker 2: it went from you know, I was stealing bikes to
- 6:02Speaker 2: just got more serious after that.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like once you start easy money is very
- 6:07Speaker 1: hard to like it. It's very alluring.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like, yeah, we could go hit a lick.
- 6:11Speaker 1: We know we're gonna hit this lick right now.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Let's go get it. Yeah. Facts, And now thinking about it,
- 6:17Speaker 2: was it just sucks, man, because I burned so many
- 6:20Speaker 2: bridges growing up. I burned so many Bridges. Man, I
- 6:23Speaker 2: had so many people willing to help me. You know,
- 6:25Speaker 2: they knew what my mom was going through at the time,
- 6:27Speaker 2: because my mom was a single mother raising four older boys,
- 6:31Speaker 2: I mean for children, and the fact that I was
- 6:35Speaker 2: the youngest one and I didn't peep that I didn't
- 6:38Speaker 2: peep what my mom was going through. I wish I
- 6:40Speaker 2: was there for her, but I just lost man. You know,
- 6:43Speaker 2: I couldn't do anything.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Do you feel like your because I feel like Jacob
- 6:47Speaker 1: has dealt with this a little bit on TV too.
- 6:49Speaker 1: It's gotten brought up in like certain like promos and
- 6:51Speaker 1: stuff and storylines he's been a part of. But do
- 6:54Speaker 1: you feel like your past has Did it take you
- 7:00Speaker 1: a while to get on the other side of it
- 7:02Speaker 1: where people were like, oh no, no, he is taking
- 7:04Speaker 1: this serious. We could take a chance on him.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Yeah, hell yeah, hell yeah, especially in this business because
- 7:08Speaker 2: when I first started in this business, I started at
- 7:10Speaker 2: Reality or Wrestling at Booker T School, and you know,
- 7:15Speaker 2: I made my debut there and then really a week
- 7:19Speaker 2: after that, me and Booker T we got into it personally,
- 7:22Speaker 2: you know, and end up end up ending with me
- 7:25Speaker 2: leaving Reality or Wrestling, And it's crazy. It was because
- 7:29Speaker 2: at the same time I'm going through all this with
- 7:31Speaker 2: Booker T, Jacob's going through the stuff he's going through
- 7:34Speaker 2: with MLW, you know, and they didn't want to release
- 7:37Speaker 2: some whatever whatever. Jacob called me one day and was like, hey, Bro,
- 7:41Speaker 2: like I heard what happened. Are you do you have
- 7:44Speaker 2: anything lined up? I'm like, hell Na, Bro, I ain't
- 7:47Speaker 2: got nothing lined up. What's up? He was like, Bro,
- 7:49Speaker 2: let's let's let's work. Let's get together and let's take
- 7:51Speaker 2: over this shit.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 2: And then Bro, we got together and our first like
- 7:55Speaker 2: eight matches we took over. We was the top you know,
- 7:58Speaker 2: tag team in the game. And I was just I
- 8:02Speaker 2: was really really excited to see what the Werewolf and
- 8:05Speaker 2: the main One could build. And you know, within our
- 8:08Speaker 2: eight matches, man, our last two matches went viral. We
- 8:12Speaker 2: was able to do millions of numbers. And uh, it's
- 8:15Speaker 2: just crazy because he gets signed and then it kind
- 8:19Speaker 2: of forced me to get away from the tag yeah,
- 8:22Speaker 2: you know, talk and got it, went to the singles talk,
- 8:25Speaker 2: and uh, I was just at that time, I didn't
- 8:27Speaker 2: see it. I didn't believe in it. But now it's
- 8:31Speaker 2: like it's different because I had to figure it out
- 8:33Speaker 2: on my own. But the fact that you know, I
- 8:35Speaker 2: was under Jacob's tree for like what a year, I
- 8:39Speaker 2: was able to like, you know, get some knowledge off him,
- 8:41Speaker 2: and it helped me become the star that I am today.
- 8:45Speaker 1: And it probably helped you as a wrestler, because that
- 8:48Speaker 1: guy is a fucking demon in the room.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, bro, when that guy the ship, he could
- 8:52Speaker 2: do it.
- 8:52Speaker 1: His size is it's wild. Yeah.
- 8:54Speaker 2: Not only that with the meeting grease Man, because usually,
- 8:57Speaker 2: you know, my first meeting Greek, I didn't.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I was so like, you're still You're still I feel like,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I feel like it's the same. It's almost like I
- 9:07Speaker 1: can imagine you're a street guy, you gotta do meet
- 9:10Speaker 1: and greets, but you're also like you're kind of too
- 9:12Speaker 1: cool for school.
- 9:13Speaker 2: You're like, yeah, yeah. It was an eye opener for me.
- 9:15Speaker 3: But you know, with Jacob, he was like, it's like
- 9:18Speaker 3: just just be you, like leaning, like just say what's up,
- 9:21Speaker 3: like you know, cause at first I was nervous and
- 9:23Speaker 3: then you know, I'm in my penitentiary mindset.
- 9:26Speaker 2: I'm still readjusting back in society at that time, so
- 9:29Speaker 2: it's kind of hard for me to like just open
- 9:31Speaker 2: up to somebody you know. But Jacob was like, oh,
- 9:34Speaker 2: it's just just be yourself, have fun, and just just
- 9:37Speaker 2: just know that these people came here to see you,
- 9:40Speaker 2: not nobody else. They waited after the show in this line,
- 9:43Speaker 2: just meet you and talk to you. Just be yourself.
- 9:45Speaker 2: And then when I seen that and I see how
- 9:47Speaker 2: Jacob interact to fans, that's when I started, Okay, I
- 9:50Speaker 2: started catching on, and then yeah, bro, Jacob played a
- 9:52Speaker 2: big role, like in my beginning of my career, were
- 9:55Speaker 2: really still to this day, he's still you know, my mentor.
- 9:58Speaker 1: So hey, man, don't forget odd Socks Basics, the only

- 11:29Speaker 1: That last name it prints, But you gotta be like
- 11:33Speaker 1: damn near so good in the ring to kind of
- 11:37Speaker 1: follow up, Like I guess the pressure of having that
- 11:41Speaker 1: name right you know what I'm saying. The bloodline is
- 11:43Speaker 1: the hottest storyline in wrestling over the last ten years.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Whether you're a part of that or not, you're kind
- 11:48Speaker 1: of a part of that, you know what I mean
- 11:49Speaker 1: to a lot of fans. So it's like you gotta
- 11:52Speaker 1: kind of also like be like, oh shit, like you
- 11:54Speaker 1: gotta earn the fans respect, because I'm sure it'd be
- 11:58Speaker 1: a lot easier for people to be like, yeah, he's cool,
- 12:01Speaker 1: you know, but but I feel like you put on
- 12:04Speaker 1: bangers bro like right right.
- 12:06Speaker 2: And And to be honest, it's crazy you say that.
- 12:08Speaker 2: I had to accept that before I got into this business.
- 12:10Speaker 2: I had I had to accept that there was gonna
- 12:13Speaker 2: be an expectation set so high, uh, because of what
- 12:16Speaker 2: my dad did and my family did. And I just said,
- 12:21Speaker 2: you know, fuck it. Now we're gonna we're gonna rock
- 12:23Speaker 2: with it, you know, and I'm gonna make this work.
- 12:25Speaker 2: I'm really gonna make this work. Like there's no other plan,
- 12:27Speaker 2: there's no plan bead or just this. This ship is
- 12:30Speaker 2: gonna work, y'all.
- 12:31Speaker 1: Yeah, So talk to me. What's your relationship like with
- 12:34Speaker 1: Booker T nowadays? Existent? Is it?
- 12:37Speaker 2: He's still a sucker? He's still a sucker to me. Yeah,
- 12:40Speaker 2: he's still a sucker.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Well, if you ever get called up, I feel like
- 12:43Speaker 1: you're gonna have to have Oh I'm a whoop his
- 12:45Speaker 1: ass uncomfortable conversation.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Nah, I'm a whoop his ass. And then we could talk.
- 12:50Speaker 2: See I'm used to the way I was raised. We
- 12:52Speaker 2: punched first and then we talk later.
- 12:54Speaker 1: What happened with What was the genesis of your issue
- 12:56Speaker 1: with Booker? By the way, I met him in Vegas,
- 12:58Speaker 1: and he didn't he was he He looked like the
- 13:00Speaker 1: most miserable guy I've ever seen that.
- 13:03Speaker 4: I was walking by he looked like he was having
- 13:05Speaker 4: the worst day ever. And I was like, Yo, can
- 13:07Speaker 4: we get a foot and.
- 13:08Speaker 2: He was just like sure yeah.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I was like, damn, my bad, bro. I was like,
- 13:14Speaker 1: he I've never met anybody doesn't want to take a
- 13:17Speaker 1: picture worse than Booker?
- 13:18Speaker 2: T Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 13:20Speaker 1: But is this is this is this like a real thing?
- 13:22Speaker 1: Or is this is this a is it this isn't
- 13:25Speaker 1: a man?
- 13:25Speaker 2: Whatever you want to call it, ken whatever, Well, however
- 13:28Speaker 2: you wanna take it, that's what it is. But no,
- 13:31Speaker 2: it was it's it's basically, you know, mentor versus student
- 13:35Speaker 2: kind of storage stuff going on, and you know, he
- 13:37Speaker 2: brought me into this game. He showed me the way.
- 13:39Speaker 2: He showed me the the ropes of this business. And uh, I.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Feel like this is a work though your guys is beef.
- 13:47Speaker 1: Is it a work?
- 13:48Speaker 2: No, it's not a work. I don't. I don't believe
- 13:51Speaker 2: in work. I don't. I don't when people say work,
- 13:54Speaker 2: and I don't believe in that because when you when
- 13:56Speaker 2: you view something as a work, that's all it's gonna
- 13:59Speaker 2: be around work. So everything I consider now is just
- 14:03Speaker 2: really just uh an art.
- 14:07Speaker 1: So he shows you, he shows you the ropes.
- 14:09Speaker 2: Yeah, he showed me the way, and he's seen that
- 14:12Speaker 2: I was able to capitalize off all the momentum and
- 14:14Speaker 2: everything that he taught me. And then I would say
- 14:17Speaker 2: he got jealous. I'll say he got jealous and he
- 14:20Speaker 2: didn't know that the student was gonna be bigger than him,
- 14:24Speaker 2: you know, and I guess he didn't want that, and
- 14:27Speaker 2: he tried to hinder my greatness. He tried to hinder
- 14:30Speaker 2: me from getting booked everywhere. Really, so I left, Yeah,
- 14:34Speaker 2: I left, And that's when me and the werewolf got
- 14:36Speaker 2: together and we took over the world and.
- 14:37Speaker 1: He didn't want you to get like he would he
- 14:39Speaker 1: would cock block you getting bookings in other places.
- 14:42Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:42Speaker 1: All that wow, all that gatekeeping, gatekeeping.
- 14:46Speaker 2: That's exactly what he is. He's a gatekeeper. That's why
- 14:49Speaker 2: I turned him into a permanent sucker.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Yeah wow, Yeah, that's interesting. Yeah, gatekeepers are terrible in
- 14:56Speaker 1: any industry. That's that's crazy. Well look, I mean eventually,
- 15:01Speaker 1: you guys are gonna have to There's there's not a
- 15:03Speaker 1: world that exists in which you eventually are not on
- 15:06Speaker 1: Summer Slammer Brusselmania in the next couple of years. In
- 15:09Speaker 1: my opinion.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Oh you know, man, I might pull up on NXT
- 15:13Speaker 2: and whoop his ass. You never know.
- 15:16Speaker 1: I want to I want to ask you, man, you
- 15:18Speaker 1: and Dom uh grow up together that I saw you
- 15:22Speaker 1: talking with Chris and and you know that was like
- 15:25Speaker 1: as you guys were kids backstage, you guys essentially had
- 15:28Speaker 1: like a real friendship. Can you just speak to like
- 15:32Speaker 1: what it was like growing up with Dom backstage? And
- 15:35Speaker 1: I think you said that your first movie you learned
- 15:37Speaker 1: was The six one nine.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Yeah, well I didn't even learn it. I just did it.
- 15:40Speaker 1: You were just doing it.
- 15:41Speaker 2: We were just doing it because one time I remember
- 15:43Speaker 2: it was Raymistereo versus my dad. They were going over
- 15:46Speaker 2: their stuff and uh, I seen rages like he was
- 15:50Speaker 2: practicing it. Yeah, and bro, I just got up it
- 15:53Speaker 2: and I just did it. That was like the first
- 15:54Speaker 2: move I naturally just did before them job for all
- 15:58Speaker 2: the others, you know the Simon's, but that was my
- 16:01Speaker 2: first move. But growing up with Don backstage, it was
- 16:05Speaker 2: really fun, like that was that was out of my
- 16:08Speaker 2: whole childhood being backstage. That was the only memory that
- 16:13Speaker 2: like I can really remember because it was literally just
- 16:16Speaker 2: me and him running around backstage having fun, eating whatever
- 16:19Speaker 2: what we want to do. The catering at these shows
- 16:22Speaker 2: that's the first place we go to.
- 16:24Speaker 1: W B catering is special dog yeah yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 2: And being backstage with him because my first year of
- 16:32Speaker 2: traveling with my dad, I wasn't with him. It was
- 16:35Speaker 2: like my second year. And then I saw the hanging.
- 16:37Speaker 2: I was like, man, who is this?
- 16:38Speaker 1: And this isick?
- 16:39Speaker 2: Yeah. I put two and two together. I was like
- 16:41Speaker 2: this Remisterio's son. And then my dad and m Steel
- 16:43Speaker 2: were already close, so that me and him we got close.
- 16:46Speaker 2: And then he has another sister named Aliah. She was
- 16:48Speaker 2: also part of our group. Too.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Back then, you guys just be running around backstage doing whatever.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Yeah, like literally whatever we wanted to do.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Did you guys ever get in trouble? Yeah yeah, bro,
- 16:58Speaker 1: we always get in trouble, yo, kick these fucking kids.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, all types of stuff. I used to steal,
- 17:06Speaker 2: like I still h what's his name John Cena's tape
- 17:11Speaker 2: on purpose and put it in my dad's luggage, and
- 17:13Speaker 2: then my dad used I used to always hear my
- 17:15Speaker 2: dad like, hey, you guys didn't see us seen as
- 17:16Speaker 2: a tape. So I remember that because I used to
- 17:18Speaker 2: still have purpose though, But nah, it was fun. That
- 17:23Speaker 2: was like as far as being backstage, That's all I
- 17:26Speaker 2: really remember is being with Down and we had we
- 17:28Speaker 2: had fun, man, so fun.
- 17:32Speaker 1: How are you guys relationship nowadays? Are we cool? Yeah?
- 17:34Speaker 2: Yeah yah yeah we tapped in. I tapped in with
- 17:36Speaker 2: so when I came home from the Pion man he
- 17:38Speaker 2: was uh. He was like one of the very few
- 17:40Speaker 2: people that embraced me, and I was I was nervous
- 17:43Speaker 2: to meet him because I didn't know if he remember me.
- 17:45Speaker 5: Remembered hey man, like some moments a kids bro like
- 17:48Speaker 5: facts and I was away, you know, I spent all
- 17:50Speaker 5: my high school and you know, all my younger uh
- 17:54Speaker 5: teens and concerrated.
- 17:55Speaker 2: Man. So I was like, damn, man, I hope he
- 17:58Speaker 2: remembers me. And then whenever I take him, he was like, bro,
- 18:01Speaker 2: I do remember you. And then he was like, bro,
- 18:03Speaker 2: what are you doing this weekend? And it was I
- 18:05Speaker 2: won't forget it. It was Roy Rumblo san Antonio. He
- 18:08Speaker 2: was like, pull up, I got you, pull it up.
- 18:10Speaker 2: He took care of me.
- 18:10Speaker 1: That's fire. Yeah, It's been dope to watch him kind
- 18:13Speaker 1: of go through his own evolution and oh he does.
- 18:16Speaker 3: He has.
- 18:16Speaker 2: He has a lot of potential. He's gonna you know,
- 18:18Speaker 2: remember when I asked you before we started recording, who's
- 18:20Speaker 2: the five to ten year superstar? He's He's part of that.
- 18:23Speaker 1: Conversation to us. Well, I think to what's dope about
- 18:25Speaker 1: seeing Dom? It's like I feel like the same thing
- 18:27Speaker 1: with with with Jacob. It's like fans just want you
- 18:31Speaker 1: all to be yourselves. Yeah, like Jacob when you when
- 18:35Speaker 1: he started we broke away from solo and he started
- 18:38Speaker 1: doing the yacht and I mean, and I'm like, that's
- 18:40Speaker 1: the most he is the most bay Arey ass motherfucker ever.
- 18:44Speaker 1: Like I know, he's from Sack but it's like northern,
- 18:45Speaker 1: It's like North call Ship. It's like he.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Gonna put off for that North Calin man, he gonna
- 18:50Speaker 2: put on. I love it. I love it same way
- 18:52Speaker 2: I'm put on for Houston though.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Yeah, you had a whole fucking thing with the Texans, right, yes, sir, Yeah,
- 18:59Speaker 1: I mean that's such a big deal to be an
- 19:01Speaker 1: indie wrestler and have a situation with the NFL team.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Oh yeah. Facts. So I remember when I got the
- 19:07Speaker 2: DM from I thought it was fake. I thought it
- 19:08Speaker 2: was a spam, and then I went to go look,
- 19:11Speaker 2: I clicked their page. I seen like all the ogs
- 19:13Speaker 2: who I was following following them wow, And I was like, oh, okay,
- 19:17Speaker 2: this is really them. But speaking about all my accomplishments, man,
- 19:23Speaker 2: that's that's probably like my most monumental one to me
- 19:26Speaker 2: because that's where I'm from, you know, and to have
- 19:30Speaker 2: my own city, have my own you know, state, and
- 19:33Speaker 2: my favorite football team to acknowledge me that that lets
- 19:37Speaker 2: me know that I'm doing something right with myself and
- 19:39Speaker 2: my brand. So that was that. That was I that
- 19:42Speaker 2: was like my first eye opener to like, eyebruh, Like
- 19:45Speaker 2: you're on a something, just keep going and keep you know,
- 19:48Speaker 2: staying consistent and networking with the right people.
- 19:51Speaker 1: When do you feel like you because I can imagine
- 19:56Speaker 1: like I have, like a lot of my families done
- 20:00Speaker 1: hard time in prison. I'm talking about twenty years. Like
- 20:03Speaker 1: my cousin Sheldon been in and out of the pen
- 20:05Speaker 1: running the Mexican mafia in Arizona, fir. He's locked up
- 20:08Speaker 1: right now. I don't think he's gonna get out to you.
- 20:10Speaker 2: So so you already know what it's like when somebody comes
- 20:12Speaker 2: home and the temptation and all that.
- 20:15Speaker 1: But the thing is is, I've seen the whole shit, right.
- 20:17Speaker 1: It's like you come home and you have the idea
- 20:20Speaker 1: to want to do the right thing. Yeah, that's everyone.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Very few people get out of prison and are on bullshit.
- 20:26Speaker 1: They get out of prison, they're like, I'm gonna get
- 20:28Speaker 1: my shit together. But the problem is is then you
- 20:30Speaker 1: have the temptation of the old friend group tapping in
- 20:34Speaker 1: and just going back to what you know, you know
- 20:38Speaker 1: what I'm saying, And some people become institutionalized where if
- 20:41Speaker 1: you're in prison for six years, that's a big chunk
- 20:44Speaker 1: of your life at that point. So you're damn near
- 20:46Speaker 1: in prison close to half of your life, you know
- 20:48Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So it's a very hard thing to
- 20:51Speaker 1: adjust to normal life. Again, when did you feel like
- 20:56Speaker 1: you were able to kind of was it a quick
- 20:59Speaker 1: transition where you were able to shed the instant But
- 21:01Speaker 1: because that prison lifestyle, it sticks with you, bro, And
- 21:04Speaker 1: then the way you might deal with disrespect is a
- 21:07Speaker 1: lot different than a normal motherfucker who might deal with disrespect. Yeah,
- 21:10Speaker 1: and now you're a public figure, so it's like, do
- 21:14Speaker 1: you feel like it took you a while to kind of,
- 21:17Speaker 1: I guess become a civilian again?
- 21:18Speaker 2: Hell yeah, it took me a while. So it took
- 21:20Speaker 2: me like four months to lead a house like I
- 21:23Speaker 2: literally was standing or just staying in my in my
- 21:26Speaker 2: brother's apartment every day, doing the same shit every day.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Because that is you got you on your program.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Man, and yeah, yeah, and the fact that I didn't
- 21:36Speaker 2: know that I could go out, I mean I knew,
- 21:38Speaker 2: but like you said, institutionalized. I was just so used
- 21:41Speaker 2: to being in this small area where I can't move
- 21:46Speaker 2: and you know, it's been six years. That's a lot
- 21:49Speaker 2: and it takes a while to break. And it took
- 21:51Speaker 2: me like four or five months to like really get
- 21:54Speaker 2: into it. I didn't even know how to work my
- 21:55Speaker 2: iPhone when I came home, so like my mom my brothers,
- 21:58Speaker 2: they had to show me how to work that. And
- 21:59Speaker 2: then when I found out Bro they had Uber eats
- 22:02Speaker 2: Bro and we can get our food delivered to the
- 22:03Speaker 2: front door. I was like, oh, and I ain't gotta
- 22:07Speaker 2: go nowhere. My brother just got a new PS what
- 22:11Speaker 2: was it five? Bro? I was on there, I was
- 22:13Speaker 2: playing video game Bro. I had everything at the crib
- 22:15Speaker 2: and I thought I was good. But you know, like
- 22:19Speaker 2: I said, when I woke up that one day, I
- 22:21Speaker 2: was like, Damn, I'm broke. I'm still staying on mama's couchs.
- 22:25Speaker 2: I ain't got nothing going for me, Like what what's
- 22:28Speaker 2: gonna change? What what's gonna happen? And that's when I decided.
- 22:30Speaker 2: I was like, nah, I gotta I gotta make some shake.
- 22:34Speaker 2: But nah, it was it was. It was still hard,
- 22:36Speaker 2: and it's still hard, uh me adjusting back in society
- 22:39Speaker 2: because there's there's sudden there's certain stuff that happens to
- 22:42Speaker 2: me in prison that I'm able to like, Okay, I
- 22:46Speaker 2: can shake off, but out here it's like you gotta
- 22:48Speaker 2: have a lot of discipline, you know, to like not
- 22:52Speaker 2: do the bad stuff or not just move off emotions,
- 22:55Speaker 2: you know. So right now I'm just prioritizing my peace
- 22:58Speaker 2: and my mental right now.
- 23:00Speaker 1: Tell me about Saint Petersburg, Florida, Royal Rumble. I'm oh, come,
- 23:07Speaker 1: Me and my son are in the same row as
- 23:08Speaker 1: you and Jacob and you guys were fucking toasted.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Hey, man, have in mind, No heaven mine was. We
- 23:16Speaker 2: did not know who the fuck we were sitting around.
- 23:18Speaker 2: We didn't even know.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Guys were so faded and I forget what something happened
- 23:22Speaker 1: where one of y'alls family members did something good and
- 23:24Speaker 1: y'all was standing on the You guys are losing your
- 23:26Speaker 1: fucking mind.
- 23:28Speaker 2: Man, take this out. Sleep. Shout out to the yat
- 23:30Speaker 2: man man for the tickets. But uh, anyways, they told
- 23:33Speaker 2: us they was all right. It was we need y'all
- 23:35Speaker 2: to pull up, but it was have them out. We're independent, right, right,
- 23:39Speaker 2: and we just got done with a show, right and
- 23:42Speaker 2: then uh, it's Royal Rumba weekend, so everybody's literally outside downtown.
- 23:47Speaker 1: Yeah, just turning up.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and guess what we did.
- 23:50Speaker 1: We were turning up with him what was the drink
- 23:52Speaker 1: of choice that night? Was it?
- 23:54Speaker 2: Every dang, every dang everything. We wasn't We wasn't missing
- 23:58Speaker 2: out on nothing. The fans came up, come on, we're
- 24:02Speaker 2: just having a good time, and that's that's what it was.
- 24:04Speaker 2: We went to the show as a fan. We didn't
- 24:05Speaker 2: go to, for sure, to shows as wrestlers. Yeah, we
- 24:08Speaker 2: went to as fans, and we were so excited, so happy.
- 24:13Speaker 2: And not only that, that whole weekend was my first
- 24:17Speaker 2: tag team match that I ever did in my whole career. Wow, yeah, yeah,
- 24:20Speaker 2: shout out to the main event. It was against them,
- 24:22Speaker 2: and uh it was me and Jacob versus them. So
- 24:24Speaker 2: that was like a huge monumental weekend for me too.
- 24:27Speaker 2: But hell yeah it was. We didn't know nobody around.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Come to find out, a few days later, we were
- 24:32Speaker 2: sitting next to Naomi's parents and I felt so bad
- 24:36Speaker 2: because I didn't even say hi. I didn't even introduced
- 24:38Speaker 2: my wasn't none of that. I just said, excuse me,
- 24:41Speaker 2: excuse me.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Okay, okay, we're in laws. Yeah yeah, funny.
- 24:45Speaker 2: But nah, we got it was fun, you know, obviously
- 24:47Speaker 2: we got lit. But it was so good, you know,
- 24:50Speaker 2: seeing Jay usso and Jimmy Usso pop off the the
- 24:55Speaker 2: rod rumble Man. It was. That was dope.
- 24:58Speaker 1: How often do you go back and watch your dad's
- 25:01Speaker 1: matches every day?
- 25:02Speaker 2: Every day? I literally watch it on the way here.
- 25:05Speaker 2: I watch him and Jeff Hardy him and Sina him
- 25:07Speaker 2: and Punk. I study you know him for sure, he's
- 25:13Speaker 2: he's probably like my main one that I study him
- 25:15Speaker 2: in Dusty Roads. I go back and forth.
- 25:17Speaker 1: I feel like your dad is also like very when
- 25:20Speaker 1: we talk about just you know, the legacy of Umaga
- 25:24Speaker 1: is a very underrated guy. Do you feel like you
- 25:28Speaker 1: have to kind of also feel some responsibility to carry
- 25:30Speaker 1: on the legacy. Now, the bigger you get, more people
- 25:33Speaker 1: will go back.
- 25:34Speaker 2: And be like, let me go watch some movie now
- 25:36Speaker 2: facts and that's what's happening. And I promise you they
- 25:38Speaker 2: my dad's gonna get his flowers. Whenever I get done
- 25:41Speaker 2: doing what I'm doing, he gonna get his flowers, and
- 25:42Speaker 2: I'm gonna get my flowers. But right now, it's it's
- 25:45Speaker 2: it's uh, it's more of a making the right pivot
- 25:51Speaker 2: at the right time. And I think if wwe you know,
- 25:56Speaker 2: whenever they're willing to make that phone call, I'm ready
- 26:00Speaker 2: if you asked me this last year, I would say no,
- 26:03Speaker 2: But you ask me now, I'm ready. I'm ready.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Can you speak to somebody who's a big fan of
- 26:09Speaker 1: yours within the company? Is Paul Hayman.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's the og man, It's the wise man
- 26:15Speaker 2: for our family.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Shout out to Paul. What is something that you've been
- 26:19Speaker 1: able to because I know you guys talk every once
- 26:21Speaker 1: in a while. What is something that you know, some
- 26:24Speaker 1: advice that Paul's given you? Because I'm sure, like you said,
- 26:27Speaker 1: the call is gonna come. Yeah. Yeah, it's just a
- 26:29Speaker 1: matter of time. Is there anything Paul's like giving you
- 26:32Speaker 1: game on, like hey try this, or hey I got
- 26:34Speaker 1: an idea for this, or you know, maybe you should
- 26:37Speaker 1: do this. Is there any any real game that Paul's
- 26:39Speaker 1: giving you?
- 26:40Speaker 3: Hell?
- 26:40Speaker 2: Yeah, just grind. Let your work speak for yourself. Yeah,
- 26:43Speaker 2: stop all that, you know, going on these podcasts and
- 26:46Speaker 2: just you know, talking your hype or popping your shit.
- 26:49Speaker 2: Just let your work speak for yourself. And that's what
- 26:51Speaker 2: me and my team are doing. You know, we're in
- 26:53Speaker 2: the process of right now of being undeniable. I don't
- 26:57Speaker 2: want to you know, I don't want to be good.
- 26:59Speaker 2: I don't want to be our, right, I want to
- 27:00Speaker 2: be great. Yeah, I want to be Underniabel And that's
- 27:03Speaker 2: the process of what we're doing right now. And Paul,
- 27:05Speaker 2: he plays a pivoted role and all this right now.
- 27:09Speaker 2: So I'm just being patient and trusting the process right
- 27:11Speaker 2: now and just leaving up to my team and believing
- 27:14Speaker 2: in my team too, because without my team, I would
- 27:16Speaker 2: not be here swear for real.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yeah you are. You have a real team, yeah, a
- 27:20Speaker 1: real team yeah. Yeah.
- 27:21Speaker 2: And aside of all my independent wrestlers, man, you need
- 27:24Speaker 2: a team. You can't do it by yourself.
- 27:25Speaker 1: You got a content guy like you got. I mean,
- 27:27Speaker 1: that's ship that I feel like if you are in indie, like,
- 27:29Speaker 1: you got to kind of take invest in your brand.
- 27:32Speaker 1: You do?
- 27:32Speaker 2: You do? Uh? And you know a lot of wrestlers
- 27:35Speaker 2: when we come into this business, we're told to focus
- 27:38Speaker 2: only on the wrestling. I was never okay with that.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 27:42Speaker 2: I thought like, okay, so if the rest if the
- 27:46Speaker 2: wrestling fans always going to be here, how can I
- 27:49Speaker 2: captivate all these other fans that never heard of the
- 27:51Speaker 2: product or let alone.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Watch the product?
- 27:53Speaker 2: Right, how could I captivate them and bring them over here?
- 27:56Speaker 1: Yeah? Like you want people who are just Zilla fans,
- 27:58Speaker 1: yeah yeah, or or fans that used to watch wrestling
- 28:01Speaker 1: stop watch wrestling. How could I bring them back and
- 28:03Speaker 1: bring them back here?
- 28:04Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's I'm the representation of all that, you know.
- 28:08Speaker 2: So can you talk.
- 28:11Speaker 1: To this Uh you know, we were talking a little
- 28:13Speaker 1: bit before the podcast started about Fourth Rope, which is
- 28:16Speaker 1: West Side Gun and Smoked Dizziness promotion and how uh
- 28:21Speaker 1: dope it is what they're doing. I mean, you're the champ.
- 28:24Speaker 1: Can you just speak to like, because I feel like
- 28:28Speaker 1: a lot of people might have initially looked like, yeah,
- 28:32Speaker 1: Guns a wrestling fan. It feels like a hobby of his,
- 28:35Speaker 1: but he is really this is a real thing, Like, yeah,
- 28:38Speaker 1: the Fourth Rope shit is super legit. I feel like
- 28:40Speaker 1: they put on some of the best indie shows, if
- 28:42Speaker 1: not the best indie shows. Can you just talk about
- 28:45Speaker 1: that promotion and your experience like behind the scenes with
- 28:48Speaker 1: those guys.
- 28:49Speaker 2: So the Fourth Rope. Fourth Rope was created by West
- 28:54Speaker 2: Side Gun and Smoked dism It's a before it before
- 28:59Speaker 2: it became wrestling identity, it was a it was a
- 29:02Speaker 2: merch line. It was like a clothing Yeah, that's all.
- 29:04Speaker 2: That's all the boys and then you know what was
- 29:08Speaker 2: it? It was like a year ago, two years ago there.
- 29:10Speaker 2: We started this when Wes called you. Yeah, so like
- 29:13Speaker 2: two years ago, you know, Wes and Smoke and the
- 29:17Speaker 2: Fourth Rope Team they got together and was like, hey,
- 29:18Speaker 2: we need to turn this clothing line into actual wrestling thing.
- 29:23Speaker 2: And uh, we did our first show in Chicago and
- 29:26Speaker 2: they did great. They did great. We sold like three
- 29:28Speaker 2: thousand tickets, and selling three thousand tickets on the first
- 29:32Speaker 2: show is huge, huge, and uh, you know, he was
- 29:36Speaker 2: able to get Joe Hendry on there. There's a lot
- 29:37Speaker 2: of other wrestlers too that was part of the shows.
- 29:40Speaker 2: And what they're doing is is basically just combining I
- 29:45Speaker 2: wouldn't even say just hip hop. I would say music
- 29:49Speaker 2: in general, because with Wes, he brings not only rappers
- 29:54Speaker 2: but other artists.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Yeah, other artists, fashion icon, yeah, all that.
- 30:00Speaker 2: And he's taken all that that he has and he's
- 30:02Speaker 2: bringing the wrestling all that together, right, And you know,
- 30:06Speaker 2: when we first cranked it off, we didn't know where
- 30:09Speaker 2: we were gonna, you know, end up we're still like,
- 30:11Speaker 2: we're still on the come up right now, and we
- 30:14Speaker 2: have a lot of potential. We have a dope roster.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Philly Show just went crazy.
- 30:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, Philly Show just went crazy. And man, I'm
- 30:22Speaker 2: super excited to see where this fourth Rope thing goes
- 30:25Speaker 2: because I feel like, you know, out of all the promotions, man,
- 30:28Speaker 2: fourth rope, damn near has the most potential.
- 30:32Speaker 1: A man. Raffie Law Group Newest sponsored the Bootlet Cap podcast.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Want to give some love to that.
- 30:36Speaker 4: Man.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I just was in Arizona, just did a photo shoot.
- 30:38Speaker 1: Show some of those photos. While I'm talking, Man, you
- 30:41Speaker 1: already know I'm not only an endorser of Raffie. I'm
- 30:46Speaker 1: also a client. That's right. My wife got into a
- 30:49Speaker 1: fender bender and Raffi took care of her exponentially. It
- 30:52Speaker 1: was so easy. And when I tell you, man, if
- 30:54Speaker 1: you get into an accident, maybe a little injury situation,
- 30:57Speaker 1: there's only one guy I trust, one law group I trust.
- 31:01Speaker 1: It's Raffi Law Group. Call six two, three, three eight
- 31:04Speaker 1: eight forty three thirty three. Whether it's a car accident,
- 31:07Speaker 1: a personal injury situation, whatever the case is, they alleviate
- 31:11Speaker 1: all of the stress. They've helped over seventy thousand people
- 31:14Speaker 1: in AZ. Now. Look, I know you're driving around you
- 31:17Speaker 1: see the billboards everywhere. You're like, Ah, is this guy
- 31:19Speaker 1: just like another one of these billboard lawyers. No, the
- 31:21Speaker 1: amount of care, the amount of attention to detail that
- 31:25Speaker 1: they do everything with, it's the best. One more time,
- 31:28Speaker 1: if you need help, you gotta call Raffi, just like
- 31:30Speaker 1: I did when my wife got into an accident. Asy,
- 31:33Speaker 1: you gotta trust Raffi man, all Right, they're the best.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Raffi Law Group the newest sponsor of the Bootleg HEB podcast.
- 31:39Speaker 1: One more time, don't forget to save the number. Call
- 31:43Speaker 1: Raffi if you get into an accident. Six two, three, three,
- 31:46Speaker 1: eight eight forty three thirty three. Let's get back to
- 31:49Speaker 1: the podcast. Yeah, I feel like it's it's like when
- 31:52Speaker 1: you have Westside Gun's taste. Yeah, when it comes to
- 31:56Speaker 1: everything fashion, music, et cetera, combined with wrestling, it's like,
- 32:02Speaker 1: you know, it makes sense.
- 32:03Speaker 2: It makes sense because you have Wes he's actually an
- 32:08Speaker 2: icon in what he does, and then you have somebody
- 32:10Speaker 2: like me who's on a come up, Who's who's who's
- 32:13Speaker 2: who's killing it, and who has damn they're the most
- 32:16Speaker 2: potential to all the independent wrestlers, and you put all
- 32:18Speaker 2: of us together and that's what we're creating.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Talk to me, man, right now. Backlash is coming up
- 32:25Speaker 1: in a couple of weeks. You're gonna be out there.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I saw doing a signing, Yes, sir man.
- 32:30Speaker 2: Shout out to Batista and his team, and shout out
- 32:33Speaker 2: to John for allowing me to do my meet and
- 32:35Speaker 2: gree at their tattoo shop.
- 32:37Speaker 1: But listen, you're there's your boy, Jacob's going against Roman. Yeah,
- 32:42Speaker 1: this is a big deal.
- 32:44Speaker 2: Of course, family business.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Now that there's the first family, which would appear to
- 32:49Speaker 1: be the USO's in Roman and verse. Jacob, who is
- 32:53Speaker 1: just right now he's alone, running by himself in a
- 32:59Speaker 1: hypothetical world than which Jacob had his own.
- 33:03Speaker 2: You're damn right, I'm right there, of course, yeah, I'm
- 33:06Speaker 2: right there.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Who else would be in it? Probably just just too Yeah, yeah,
- 33:11Speaker 1: it's all you need. Probably just us too. Yeah yeah.
- 33:13Speaker 2: But as far as like you know, when it comes
- 33:15Speaker 2: to the family business, it's all about respect what we're
- 33:18Speaker 2: fighting for. Yeah, it's all about respect. And a lot
- 33:21Speaker 2: of people think that it's about the belt. I mean
- 33:26Speaker 2: kind of is, but it's really not. When it comes
- 33:28Speaker 2: to us, it's about our culture, right, and it's about
- 33:30Speaker 2: us putting on for our culture, uh, in our way.
- 33:34Speaker 1: You know, I also feel like you guys aren't supposed
- 33:37Speaker 1: to be here kind of which is.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Like, nah, you're right, you know what I'm saying, right,
- 33:41Speaker 2: because when I when I walk into certain place, I'm like, bro,
- 33:43Speaker 2: am I supposed to be here? Like the other day
- 33:46Speaker 2: he went to the country club, Like somebody in Dallas
- 33:48Speaker 2: at this boogie spot, everybody's looking like that, Are you
- 33:51Speaker 2: supposed to be here?
- 33:52Speaker 1: Brother?
- 33:52Speaker 2: Every time everywhere I.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Walk I feel like that, right, Yeah, that's got to
- 33:55Speaker 1: be dope though, for you to just like like, just
- 33:58Speaker 1: as somebody who you know, I've see outside of the
- 34:00Speaker 1: family situation, somebody who came up with going against Roman
- 34:04Speaker 1: for the belt and just I thought he had. I
- 34:07Speaker 1: thought Jacob's last two promos are the best promos he's
- 34:09Speaker 1: ever cut.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Yeah, And you can't be you can't be mad at him, man, Yeah,
- 34:13Speaker 2: because that's what That's what anybody would want. Why not
- 34:16Speaker 2: have a you know, a better education for your kids.
- 34:19Speaker 2: Why not have a bigger house for your kids? And
- 34:22Speaker 2: you know, the shoe deals and all that, why not
- 34:24Speaker 2: I want that too.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I want to talk to you. You and MJF had
- 34:26Speaker 1: a crazy match and I thought it was. I think
- 34:30Speaker 1: it's like MJF is like one of those guys who
- 34:33Speaker 1: is a superstar wherever he's at. How do you prepare
- 34:37Speaker 1: for a match like that with a guy like MJF.
- 34:39Speaker 1: And like I saw him give it up to you
- 34:41Speaker 1: at the end and show respect to you at the
- 34:43Speaker 1: end of the match in the ring. Talk about like
- 34:46Speaker 1: a match like that where it's like world's colliding like
- 34:49Speaker 1: a aw guy and you. Those kind of matches don't
- 34:53Speaker 1: really happen, So how do you prepare for that?
- 34:56Speaker 2: And that's the beauty of these independent companies like how
- 35:00Speaker 2: also Glory and Fourth Row right, we're able to do
- 35:02Speaker 2: stuff like But back to your question, Oh so I
- 35:06Speaker 2: treat this like every other fight, like there's there was
- 35:09Speaker 2: no different. I mean, I obviously you know MJF is
- 35:12Speaker 2: a superstar in his own little world, but uh, I
- 35:15Speaker 2: treated like every other match, and I feel like with
- 35:18Speaker 2: him when he dropped that promo, that's when I started like, okay,
- 35:22Speaker 2: hold on, I needed I need to respond, you know,
- 35:25Speaker 2: But not every respond you know, not every everybody who
- 35:30Speaker 2: like shoots their shot to me, they don't deserve my
- 35:32Speaker 2: energy to respond. But MJF, it hit home with me.
- 35:36Speaker 2: So that's what made me respond. I was like, hold on,
- 35:37Speaker 2: I gotta say something to this guy because he's damn
- 35:39Speaker 2: near the biggest one over there at A Yeah. So
- 35:42Speaker 2: I was like, hold on, he's the biggest superstar over there.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Let me let me go cook with him. See what
- 35:46Speaker 2: we can create?
- 35:46Speaker 1: Did you guys how? Because you know, for people who
- 35:49Speaker 1: don't know you, guys will have some sort of like
- 35:51Speaker 1: loose planning of a match. He's you're traveling, he's traveling.
- 35:56Speaker 1: Do you guys go through any of the spots like
- 35:58Speaker 1: right before you guys on I hop on the hop
- 36:01Speaker 1: on a call or is it all you guys just
- 36:02Speaker 1: figuring it out everything on the fly? Wow, dude, that's impressed.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Fly Fly, that's fire fly.
- 36:09Speaker 2: That's it MJF.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Fly. Do you feel like you would ever entertain AW
- 36:14Speaker 1: if WW takes too long? Uh?
- 36:18Speaker 2: Ask that question again?
- 36:19Speaker 1: Would you ever entertain going to a W if WWE
- 36:22Speaker 1: takes too long to make the call?
- 36:26Speaker 2: No? I think I think, Uh my heart is with
- 36:31Speaker 2: the E.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean here, it's where your family is.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Yeah, So I'm not gonna break that cycle. I respect it,
- 36:38Speaker 2: Come on, I respect it. And then not only that
- 36:41Speaker 2: I got, I got unfinished business as far as with
- 36:43Speaker 2: my dad's legacy to fulfill.
- 36:45Speaker 1: You that's why. Yeah, that's the company.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. So I want to go over there and
- 36:49Speaker 2: turn that ship up and and you know, at the
- 36:51Speaker 2: same time, uh, you know, build my own brand.
- 36:54Speaker 1: And then when you're when you're growing up, like like
- 36:57Speaker 1: who was like your guy, your dad's guy in the
- 36:59Speaker 1: locker room? Like who is his boy?
- 37:01Speaker 2: Jeff Hardy?
- 37:02Speaker 1: Man, come on, Jeff Hardy makes sense. You obviously come
- 37:05Speaker 1: out with Hardy's face paint on it. Yeah.
- 37:07Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of people didn't like that, but I
- 37:09Speaker 2: don't care.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I know that she was fire.
- 37:11Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, but uh nah, Jeff Hardy. Jeff Hardy was
- 37:14Speaker 2: my favorite growing up, right. Mysterio was my favorite growing up.
- 37:17Speaker 2: Eddie Guerrero was my favorite growing up. Shot to Eddie, man, Yeah,
- 37:22Speaker 2: shot to Eddie, shout shout to him, and uh who else?
- 37:25Speaker 2: Who else? And I just he's one of my favorites. Now,
- 37:29Speaker 2: Dusty Rose.
- 37:30Speaker 1: Dusty's a guy.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Dusty Yeah, man, y'all better give him his flowers. Man,
- 37:33Speaker 2: he definitely he's up there. So I got Dusty, and
- 37:36Speaker 2: I hate to see it.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Booker t.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I just hate to see it.
- 37:40Speaker 1: I respect it is it kind of like a crazy
- 37:45Speaker 1: full circle moment, like being able to like, like, I'm
- 37:48Speaker 1: sure Jeff remembers you as a little kid being backstage
- 37:51Speaker 1: and now he's on entry yours. Do you feel like
- 37:54Speaker 1: he's kind of like an extension of your pop so key?
- 37:56Speaker 2: Like he is ousen man. Whenever I fir linked up
- 38:00Speaker 2: with him, it was out of fourthrow show out sat
- 38:03Speaker 2: By Southwest, and when I got around him, I kind
- 38:08Speaker 2: of felt like my dad was around right, you know.
- 38:11Speaker 2: So when I first chopped it up with him, I
- 38:14Speaker 2: felt I felt like a little kid again, And it
- 38:16Speaker 2: was a full circle moment for me because all the
- 38:18Speaker 2: questions I had growing up and I never was able
- 38:22Speaker 2: to ask my dad. I asked him that, right, and
- 38:25Speaker 2: he gave me the answers because he was there. He
- 38:27Speaker 2: was there every step of the way, like literally every
- 38:30Speaker 2: step of the way with my dad. Him and my
- 38:31Speaker 2: dad was like literally like this on the road. And
- 38:35Speaker 2: for him to you know, be my friend, my mentor
- 38:41Speaker 2: I really consider him family too as well. For him
- 38:44Speaker 2: to like help me get to where I'm at and
- 38:47Speaker 2: still drop give me gems and give me his time,
- 38:51Speaker 2: that means the world to me, you know, because I
- 38:53Speaker 2: know he can be doing thousands of other things. But
- 38:56Speaker 2: the fact that you know when I whenever I text him,
- 38:57Speaker 2: whenever I call him, he's always tied back in. Yeah,
- 39:00Speaker 2: he always.
- 39:01Speaker 1: I think it's like there's this thing with Jeff that
- 39:05Speaker 1: like a whole new generation of kids have like discovered him. Yes,
- 39:09Speaker 1: Like my son's best friend is like the biggest Jeff
- 39:11Speaker 1: Hardy mark and he's nineteen.
- 39:13Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 39:14Speaker 1: He went to freaking wrestle con paid for the meat
- 39:15Speaker 1: and green and then paid for it again. Ww world.
- 39:18Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, He's like, well, I took one with
- 39:20Speaker 1: the Hardys and then one with just Jeff. I bought
- 39:24Speaker 1: the fucking painting. Jeff Hardy's out here, Payton shit.
- 39:26Speaker 2: But Jeff Hardy, Jeff Hardy's bigging than Obama.
- 39:29Speaker 1: Bro, come on, it's crazy. Come on, who would you
- 39:32Speaker 1: say your in ring style is like like who influenced
- 39:36Speaker 1: your current style the most? Like how you get down
- 39:38Speaker 1: in between the ropes? Who do you take from the most?
- 39:41Speaker 2: Right now, I'm going with Great Muda and uh Jake
- 39:46Speaker 2: the Snake Ja Snake. I'm going with those two. And
- 39:48Speaker 2: then I'm starting to I'm starting to like incorporate Dusty
- 39:52Speaker 2: Rose charisma into my shit too, like instead of me
- 39:55Speaker 2: being the monster, which I know I could be. Like,
- 39:58Speaker 2: there's certain times where you just gotta flip the switch sometimes.
- 40:03Speaker 2: And I wanted to add I love Dusty Rose because
- 40:06Speaker 2: he's literally his nickname mister Charisma, and that's what you
- 40:10Speaker 2: need to be successful in this business hundred And that's
- 40:13Speaker 2: what I'm going for. You know, it's not it's not
- 40:15Speaker 2: really about the moves and none of that. I'm going
- 40:16Speaker 2: for personality, charisma, and you know, the ability to work
- 40:21Speaker 2: all angles because there's a difference between TV wrestling and
- 40:25Speaker 2: indie wrestling. Indie wrestling, you're just working towards more of
- 40:28Speaker 2: the crowd. TV wrestling, we're working towards that little hard
- 40:31Speaker 2: camera that you guys probably don't see, that's all in
- 40:34Speaker 2: the back, yep. And uh yeah, that's so I'm focused
- 40:36Speaker 2: on like the TV stuff right now.
- 40:38Speaker 1: Yeah. It's like almost like you could do all the
- 40:40Speaker 1: craziest moves in the world and like have a very
- 40:43Speaker 1: good career wrestling indies or not. But it's like you
- 40:48Speaker 1: got to cut through to the people if you want
- 40:50Speaker 1: to be like on the truck.
- 40:52Speaker 2: That's a high bar and speaking of that, Jeff Hardy
- 40:54Speaker 2: done set the bar high, higher than ever. So you
- 40:57Speaker 2: guys got to meet that, if not excel that when
- 40:59Speaker 2: it comes to like the.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Mic work and the little things like I'll hear like
- 41:04Speaker 1: like I've been around some of the conversations where it'll
- 41:07Speaker 1: be like you'll hold a look with the camera, yeah,
- 41:09Speaker 1: or like there's like the way in the middle of
- 41:11Speaker 1: a match, the way you do storytelling, like you get
- 41:14Speaker 1: frustrated or you know, the facial expressions. How like how
- 41:19Speaker 1: important is that? Do you think it's more important to
- 41:22Speaker 1: be able to tell a story and have really good
- 41:26Speaker 1: mic work charisma than it is to have like the
- 41:30Speaker 1: craziest bag in course of course.
- 41:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I will go with first of all, you got
- 41:34Speaker 2: to be marketable. Yeah, you got to be marketable. If
- 41:37Speaker 2: you're not marketable, you're in your own business, right all right? Now,
- 41:44Speaker 2: As far as like what was the question again, just like.
- 41:48Speaker 1: What do you know? Obviously it's important to do both,
- 41:51Speaker 1: but would you say the charisma, the promo cutting that
- 41:54Speaker 1: kind of shit is more equally as important as your
- 41:57Speaker 1: talent in the ring.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Okay, So as far as this is my as far
- 42:00Speaker 2: as me growing up, I don't remember the matches. I
- 42:05Speaker 2: don't remember the matches. I don't remember noo that. You know.
- 42:07Speaker 2: What I do remember is the promos, the moments, the story,
- 42:12Speaker 2: and what the promo does is it amplifies the story,
- 42:16Speaker 2: right because it doesn't make sense if me and you
- 42:19Speaker 2: are wrestling every week and we don't have no direction,
- 42:24Speaker 2: we don't have no you know, story, we don't have
- 42:26Speaker 2: no setting, we don't have no you know what? Why?
- 42:29Speaker 2: How all that? You know? And I feel like right now,
- 42:32Speaker 2: in today's business, you have to have charisma and personality
- 42:36Speaker 2: and that's what's going to get you over. It's not
- 42:38Speaker 2: the moves. Like the moves is the last thing. The
- 42:41Speaker 2: end ring stuff is like the last thing. And I
- 42:44Speaker 2: feel like your personality it needs to, you know, speak
- 42:50Speaker 2: for your your brand and it needs to your brand
- 42:53Speaker 2: needs your personality needs to represent your brand for sure,
- 42:57Speaker 2: you know. And that's what I'm trying to figure out
- 42:59Speaker 2: right now. So I don't have it figured out right now,
- 43:01Speaker 2: but I'm still just trying to, you know, figure out
- 43:03Speaker 2: who Zilla Fatu is and just get better and better.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Which H Town rapper do you think would make the
- 43:09Speaker 1: best wrestler or manager?
- 43:10Speaker 2: Max O Cream Max o Cream max O cream Man,
- 43:13Speaker 2: max o Cream, Uh.
- 43:15Speaker 1: Sauce walk I think be great too, Yeah, yeah, would
- 43:18Speaker 1: be cool. Walk as a manager would be crazy.
- 43:21Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I said Max because me and him, like,
- 43:24Speaker 2: that's one of my close homes, right guy and all
- 43:26Speaker 2: that he's he's uh, he's worked before at Booker T school.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Really yeah, me and him. It was actually against Booker
- 43:32Speaker 2: T and his jabbronis. It was me and max O
- 43:35Speaker 2: Cream yeah versus Booker T and his Jabebroni's and we
- 43:39Speaker 2: beat him. Wow. Yeah yeah, so, uh you never know
- 43:42Speaker 2: what you o T.
- 43:44Speaker 1: I feel like could take a I mean he could.
- 43:46Speaker 1: He takes a bull, he could take he could take
- 43:48Speaker 1: a he could take a table. Oh you put him
- 43:49Speaker 1: through a table?
- 43:50Speaker 2: Me and o T put him through the table.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Oh yeah that was him.
- 43:54Speaker 2: I don't know. Yeah, yeah, you.
- 43:56Speaker 1: Went through the table. Cameraman be fucking up. Sometimes you
- 43:59Speaker 1: gotta pu him thro fucking tape.
- 44:00Speaker 2: They do, yeah, they do, they do.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Who's your favorite H Town rappers all time? Give me
- 44:05Speaker 1: your top five right now? Got you said five all time?
- 44:10Speaker 2: All time? I got Scarface, I got zero, I got sauce,
- 44:17Speaker 2: I got mmmm, I got one. Mom, I got two more.
- 44:24Speaker 2: Does Ot count?
- 44:26Speaker 1: Yeah, he's from fucking I mean from.
- 44:28Speaker 2: He's from Bay City. But he's still saying, yeah, I
- 44:30Speaker 2: got I got OT up there too. Did I say
- 44:32Speaker 2: MAXO already?
- 44:33Speaker 1: No?
- 44:34Speaker 2: Max?
- 44:34Speaker 1: It will be five yeah, shot to zero.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Man shot out the row Man, shot at the road.
- 44:41Speaker 1: How how how important is it? Because I feel like
- 44:45Speaker 1: being an independent wrestler has to kind of be similar
- 44:47Speaker 1: to being like an independent rapper. Yep, you got to
- 44:50Speaker 1: figure out different revenue streams, like talk to me about
- 44:54Speaker 1: because there'd be like, uh, what's the wrestling t shirt company?
- 44:58Speaker 1: The pro wrestling teas, and like like how do you
- 45:00Speaker 1: maximize your income streams as an independent wrestler?
- 45:05Speaker 2: First of all, I don't go to no pro wrestling
- 45:08Speaker 2: teas and none of that. Everything I do is in house,
- 45:10Speaker 2: so straight to your website, exactly straight. But yeah, everything
- 45:15Speaker 2: I do, I can only what I'm saying right now
- 45:18Speaker 2: is for me. I can't speak for any other independent wrestler,
- 45:21Speaker 2: but for us, everything is in house. Who's so our marketing,
- 45:27Speaker 2: our traveling, our tickets, our hotels.
- 45:29Speaker 1: You book everything yourself.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Everything comes out of my pocket.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Yeah, But I'm saying, like, how important is it to
- 45:35Speaker 1: be able to go to Mania weekend and just get
- 45:38Speaker 1: a bag all weekend.
- 45:39Speaker 2: It's very important. Yeah, I mean it's not it's not
- 45:42Speaker 2: even just a bag. As an independent wrestler, going to
- 45:45Speaker 2: these events like this, it's more of expanding your brand.
- 45:47Speaker 2: It's more of networking. It's more of seeing who you know,
- 45:51Speaker 2: who could like amplify your brand and who could like
- 45:54Speaker 2: take your brand to the next level. So every event
- 45:57Speaker 2: or every city I go to, our network at work
- 46:00Speaker 2: is very important. And as an independent wrestler, you try
- 46:05Speaker 2: not to rely on anybody or anything you know. So
- 46:08Speaker 2: that's the that's what we're doing. We're not We're not
- 46:10Speaker 2: trying to rely on nobody. We're trying to build our
- 46:12Speaker 2: own yeah, and build our own machine.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I want to ask your opinion on a couple of
- 46:16Speaker 1: things that are WW related right now. What were your
- 46:20Speaker 1: thoughts on, uh, the celebrity involvement during Mania this year.
- 46:25Speaker 1: A lot of fans were not happy with Pat Man.
- 46:26Speaker 1: I hated I hated it.
- 46:28Speaker 2: Yeah, they should have brought him Bad Bunny if they
- 46:31Speaker 2: were gonna bring in anyone. I hated it man, But yeah,
- 46:34Speaker 2: they should have kept Pat out the way.
- 46:36Speaker 1: They didn't need. I feel like with Randy and Cody.
- 46:38Speaker 2: You didn't need it. Randy don't need nobody. Many Cody either,
- 46:41Speaker 2: he don't. They don't need nobody. And then if somebody
- 46:44Speaker 2: was gonna get involved, it should have been a junior.
- 46:47Speaker 2: It should have been Teddy yass junior?
- 46:48Speaker 1: Would I agree?
- 46:49Speaker 2: That would have been bro? I hate That's who I
- 46:53Speaker 2: was waiting.
- 46:53Speaker 1: When he was saying there's more than one real family
- 46:55Speaker 1: in wrestling.
- 46:56Speaker 2: I was like, oh, yeah, that's what I was waiting on.
- 46:59Speaker 2: It was, and you know, when it didn't happen, and
- 47:01Speaker 2: then not only that, I thought Randy was going over
- 47:03Speaker 2: too with the punt.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 47:05Speaker 2: So when I seen that and I was like, fuck,
- 47:08Speaker 2: but uh yeah, I'm excited to see where that goes.
- 47:10Speaker 2: But it's very like, it's very very important for us
- 47:13Speaker 2: independent wrestlers not to like just rely on you know,
- 47:18Speaker 2: other people's words of mouth and none of that. Like
- 47:21Speaker 2: you have to you gotta stand on your own, you
- 47:23Speaker 2: have to build your own machine, you gotta storry YouTube channel,
- 47:28Speaker 2: you gotta stream like in today's society, to be successful,
- 47:32Speaker 2: you have to do more than five things.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Well, somebody else I want to ask you about who
- 47:36Speaker 1: I'm sure you've rubbed shoulders with it a lot of
- 47:37Speaker 1: these conventions. Is Dan Housen. What are your thoughts on
- 47:42Speaker 1: this Dan housing phenomenon. This guy's been putting in work,
- 47:44Speaker 1: releasing comic books, doing the merch shit, running the indies
- 47:49Speaker 1: in his own way. What are your thoughts on.
- 47:51Speaker 2: Dan Housenbian Man, I love Dan Housen. Man, Dan Housen,
- 47:55Speaker 2: you know he blessed me. He ain't cursed me. He
- 47:59Speaker 2: blessed me. But uh, Dan Housen.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Uh.
- 48:02Speaker 2: When I was on the indies, when I first started,
- 48:04Speaker 2: you know, back to the indie talk, Dannhausen was like
- 48:08Speaker 2: one of the very first rustlers too that embrace me.
- 48:10Speaker 2: And Jacob introduced me to Danausen, so it was really
- 48:13Speaker 2: cool and having mine it was I never seen that
- 48:16Speaker 2: guy without the face paint, so I didn't even know
- 48:18Speaker 2: what he looked like. Right, and then at this one event,
- 48:21Speaker 2: I think it was Russell Kay or Russell Khan. I
- 48:25Speaker 2: was next to him, but he didn't know. I didn't know,
- 48:28Speaker 2: and I felt so bad. But it's all side to
- 48:30Speaker 2: da Housen shid out to loose. Please don't curse me.
- 48:34Speaker 1: Hell loll okay, let's talk about Roman right now. Roman
- 48:37Speaker 1: is I feel like when he's got the belt, it's
- 48:41Speaker 1: good for business. Where do you put Roman in the
- 48:45Speaker 1: all time great convo?
- 48:48Speaker 2: Number one?
- 48:49Speaker 1: He's number one ever, Overseena, over Hogan, Overstone Cold.
- 48:54Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, he's number one. What do you think about
- 48:57Speaker 2: I got him and rock him and the Rock? Yeah,
- 48:59Speaker 2: I got him a Rocky. They number one for sure.
- 49:03Speaker 1: Shout to the rock. Do you think Rock's greatest on
- 49:05Speaker 1: the mic? Ever? Yeah?
- 49:07Speaker 2: Yeah, of course.
- 49:08Speaker 1: I think the only person who's better is Paul Hayman.
- 49:12Speaker 1: But Paul Hayman's outrestman doesn't.
- 49:14Speaker 2: Exactly there he goes there you go.
- 49:17Speaker 1: But the greatest ever, I feel like Haymd is the bro.
- 49:19Speaker 1: When Hayman comes out and his eyes are all red,
- 49:21Speaker 1: he looks like he's been putting himself through ship just
- 49:23Speaker 1: so we can look crazy on rock.
- 49:25Speaker 2: I mean he asks, yeah, he does? You know all
- 49:28Speaker 2: all the material?
- 49:29Speaker 1: And so if you got Roman in the rock, do
- 49:33Speaker 1: you how do you complete your five?
- 49:36Speaker 2: Oh? So you want to get you?
- 49:37Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 49:38Speaker 1: Roman Rock?
- 49:39Speaker 2: So I got Roman Rock, Dusty Roads, Dusty Eddie Gurero,
- 49:48Speaker 2: lookert T.
- 49:49Speaker 1: You're a big dusty guy telling you is this more recent?
- 49:53Speaker 1: Like you've gone to it is?
- 49:54Speaker 2: It is it is recent. I'm telling y'all, Dusty Rose
- 49:56Speaker 2: inspired me so much and uh, such.
- 49:59Speaker 1: A relatable guy. That's what. People loved him because he
- 50:01Speaker 1: was a working man. He was he's a plumber.
- 50:03Speaker 2: Yeah, and all my promos going forward, it's like this
- 50:06Speaker 2: inspiration off him.
- 50:07Speaker 1: You gotta tell Cody that when you see him next.
- 50:09Speaker 2: Yeah, now I will, I will. And it sucks, man,
- 50:12Speaker 2: because I wish how I was. I've been on Dusty,
- 50:14Speaker 2: but you know, as a young and I wasn't. I
- 50:16Speaker 2: wasn't into that. All I knew was Jeff Hardy and
- 50:19Speaker 2: John Cena thugonomics and that's it.
- 50:21Speaker 1: What about Roman do you think? Because I feel like
- 50:24Speaker 1: Roman has you know, I mean, if we think about
- 50:27Speaker 1: all the way back to the Shield, there's been so
- 50:28Speaker 1: many errors of his career. But what is it about
- 50:31Speaker 1: Roman in particular that you feel like makes him to.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Go number one? But adds and seats. Yeah, I can't
- 50:40Speaker 2: beat that, right business right number two? I think I
- 50:45Speaker 2: think the man is just in his own lane. I
- 50:49Speaker 2: think the man is Hen Jordan. Yeah, he has twelves
- 50:53Speaker 2: are dropping. He has his own art too. And I
- 50:55Speaker 2: remember when I when I watched The Last Russel mating
- 50:58Speaker 2: with him the punk. I felt like I was watching
- 51:00Speaker 2: the opera. Oh that was one of the best route
- 51:03Speaker 2: that was Seampunk's best WrestleMania.
- 51:04Speaker 1: Well, that was one of the best WrestleMania matches ever.
- 51:07Speaker 1: I think. Yeah, it's like a top five WrestleMania with
- 51:10Speaker 1: the build up.
- 51:10Speaker 2: And everything else going into it.
- 51:11Speaker 1: Yeah, storytelling within the match, yeah, and just there was
- 51:15Speaker 1: no outside bullshit. It's just those two motherfuckers getting down.
- 51:20Speaker 2: Yeah. And uh yeah. So I just feel like Rumans
- 51:23Speaker 2: in his own little lane and for him to like
- 51:28Speaker 2: number one, uh play ass and season the number two,
- 51:30Speaker 2: overcome leukemia twice. Yeah, No, for sure, I think I
- 51:33Speaker 2: think that says a lie and I think he's.
- 51:35Speaker 1: And also overcome all the heat because a lot of
- 51:37Speaker 1: fans did not like him because he felt like they
- 51:40Speaker 1: were like.
- 51:41Speaker 2: Yeah, because they were trying to do the Scena effect, right,
- 51:43Speaker 2: they were trying to do that. But you know, that's
- 51:45Speaker 2: that's that's what comes with this business for sure. You know,
- 51:48Speaker 2: you got to see what works and what doesn't. If
- 51:50Speaker 2: the fans go this way, Hey, we don't have to
- 51:54Speaker 2: go that way with you guys.
- 51:55Speaker 1: I just remember, like I was like, we're watching I
- 51:57Speaker 1: was at Media and we're in the suite watching the Roman,
- 52:00Speaker 1: and I was like, this motherfucker's in the best shape
- 52:02Speaker 1: of his life. Can you imagine they used to put
- 52:03Speaker 1: a fucking bulletproof vest on this guy, Like this fool
- 52:06Speaker 1: is fucking he got the body of a god. And
- 52:09Speaker 1: Vince McMahon had his motherfucker running around looking like a
- 52:11Speaker 1: SWAT team member.
- 52:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, and it was all I'm sure it was
- 52:14Speaker 2: all a perception thing, right, you know, having him keep
- 52:16Speaker 2: it on or maybe he probably you never know, Roman
- 52:19Speaker 2: probably just wanted it on because he didn't he didn't
- 52:21Speaker 2: have that done yet.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Have you been able to chop it up and throw
- 52:24Speaker 1: him at all, get any game from him? Or is
- 52:26Speaker 1: that something that hasn't happened yet or no, not yet?
- 52:30Speaker 2: No, yeah, not yet. I liked I like that. Can
- 52:33Speaker 2: I like how you did? I like how he milked
- 52:35Speaker 2: everything and then he goes into this.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but nah, he.
- 52:42Speaker 2: You know, I see him every now and then you
- 52:45Speaker 2: know it's not we don't tap in every day, like
- 52:47Speaker 2: how me and Jacob right.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Right right, right right? Well you and Jacob are close. Yeah, yeah,
- 52:50Speaker 1: I feel like just I mean and I feel like
- 52:52Speaker 1: I feel like there's like this thing where it's like
- 52:53Speaker 1: just because everybody is a part of the quote unquote bloodline,
- 52:55Speaker 1: it's like, you guys definitely did not grow up together.
- 52:58Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, I mean we all dig together. It's just
- 53:01Speaker 2: all of us went our separate ways, right. You know.
- 53:03Speaker 2: As far as with Jacob, Jacob always usued to get
- 53:06Speaker 2: in trouble as a youngin so out. Yeah, so his
- 53:09Speaker 2: parents send him down there to stay with my dad
- 53:11Speaker 2: and us. Wow, And you know he loved my dad.
- 53:14Speaker 2: You know, my dad took care of him. Not only that,
- 53:16Speaker 2: took care of the USO, took care of Joe. And
- 53:19Speaker 2: so that's how like I got close with Jacob Roman
- 53:24Speaker 2: and the ussos are like fifteen years twenty years older
- 53:27Speaker 2: part or fifteen years older than me. Yeah, so that
- 53:30Speaker 2: was like a big that's a generational gap exactly. So
- 53:33Speaker 2: I wasn't with him. I was with Jacob and Solo
- 53:36Speaker 2: and my brothers. So that's why I didn't really have
- 53:39Speaker 2: the connection I have with Rooman or the USOS. But
- 53:43Speaker 2: you know, right now, man, we're just rebuilding. And you know,
- 53:45Speaker 2: I think I think for them to see me come
- 53:48Speaker 2: home from prison, they just wanted to see if I
- 53:50Speaker 2: take a serious serious.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Yeah, because they're like, yo, we can't embrace this guy,
- 53:53Speaker 1: and then he walks off and ends up back in jail.
- 53:56Speaker 2: Facts, and you know, not only that, they already went
- 53:58Speaker 2: through all the stuff they went through with Jacob and
- 54:01Speaker 2: they didn't want to go through all that with me.
- 54:03Speaker 2: And you know, I stuck through it. I put my
- 54:06Speaker 2: head down, I listened to Paul Hayman, and I grind it.
- 54:09Speaker 2: And I'm still grinding, you know, And I'm just being
- 54:11Speaker 2: patient and I'm just I'm really just trusting the process
- 54:14Speaker 2: right now, all.
- 54:15Speaker 1: Right, dude. So look, it's I feel like it's gonna
- 54:17Speaker 1: be a big rest of the year for you, for us,
- 54:20Speaker 1: for us, for us. So come on, I loll you
- 54:24Speaker 1: got when obviously you have a match tonight defending this title.
- 54:28Speaker 2: Yep, speaking of family business, I'm about to whoop my
- 54:31Speaker 2: cousin's ass lance on Hawaii. Do you know who that is?
- 54:34Speaker 1: No?
- 54:35Speaker 2: Good?
- 54:35Speaker 1: Good, keep it that way good, But.
- 54:38Speaker 2: Yeah, man, we're gonna put it into it. The last
- 54:41Speaker 2: five months has been a roller coaster with him. I
- 54:44Speaker 2: don't know why, you know, he gets involved, his hands
- 54:46Speaker 2: involved in the main one's business. But hopefully after I
- 54:49Speaker 2: whoop his ass, tonight I get an answer.
- 54:51Speaker 1: Fourth Rope. I'm sure it's got a show coming soon,
- 54:53Speaker 1: and they always got I mean, they just did Philly.
- 54:56Speaker 2: I'm not supposed to say this, but I don't care.
- 54:58Speaker 2: I'm the champ of Fourth Rope. We'll be in New
- 55:00Speaker 2: Orleans July fourth. We'll be in New Orleans July fourth,
- 55:04Speaker 2: so everybody down there. It's gonna be my first time
- 55:06Speaker 2: wrestling in Louisiana. Let alone hosts our very first Fourth
- 55:11Speaker 2: Rope event down there, uh in Louisiana. So it's gonna
- 55:14Speaker 2: be dope. Man, make you guys pop out.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Do you.
- 55:18Speaker 1: Remember when you actually coined the what was the main
- 55:21Speaker 1: one mantra? When did you land on that?
- 55:25Speaker 2: After I whopped Enzo Morey's ass in Atlanta at Fourth Rope,
- 55:33Speaker 2: that match man with him, he just he just took
- 55:36Speaker 2: my psychology level to a whole different level. And you know,
- 55:40Speaker 2: before I got, before like getting to Enzo, I thought
- 55:46Speaker 2: the moves was everything. I thought I had to do.
- 55:48Speaker 2: All the cool ship. I thought I had to do
- 55:50Speaker 2: all the Lucas ship. I thought I had had to
- 55:52Speaker 2: do everything that everybody that great. Yeah I could, And
- 55:55Speaker 2: that's the thing I learned. I learned backwards. I learned
- 55:58Speaker 2: to do the hardcore ship first and then all the
- 56:00Speaker 2: basic fundamentals. But yeah, that's what the fuck we were
- 56:04Speaker 2: talking about.
- 56:05Speaker 1: No, we're just talking about you coming up with the
- 56:07Speaker 1: main one.
- 56:08Speaker 2: And yeah, so I say after Inzoe, after I whooped
- 56:10Speaker 2: his ass, and uh, you know, leading up to that,
- 56:14Speaker 2: I thought it was all about the moves, but it
- 56:15Speaker 2: wasn't until I got to that venue and me and
- 56:19Speaker 2: him sat down and we chopped it up. And then
- 56:21Speaker 2: not only that, man, I did my research on Enzo,
- 56:24Speaker 2: like Enzo.
- 56:25Speaker 1: All time mic worker exactly, just Jesus like he had
- 56:29Speaker 1: he was so over, he had so much potential. Dude,
- 56:32Speaker 1: you know, shout out to Endel. He got done dirty.
- 56:34Speaker 1: I feel like it's good to see him, you know,
- 56:37Speaker 1: holding the title at fourth throw.
- 56:39Speaker 2: And yeah, and not only that, he's helping out, man.
- 56:41Speaker 2: He's helping out with the younger talent, he's helping out
- 56:43Speaker 2: with the staff, he's helping out with everywhere. Man. So
- 56:45Speaker 2: he's just trying to, you know, put his footprint on
- 56:47Speaker 2: the game. And it has to be that match because
- 56:52Speaker 2: I remember that was actually like my first match. I
- 56:54Speaker 2: got really punched and he punched me and my ship,
- 56:58Speaker 2: and I.
- 56:58Speaker 1: Was like, oh, okay, this is it, let's go. Did
- 57:02Speaker 1: you give him a receipt?
- 57:03Speaker 2: I definitely did the receeat put his ass asleep? Hello,
- 57:08Speaker 2: but yeah, and afterwards, man, that's that's when I was like, bro,
- 57:10Speaker 2: I'm the main one, like it's me and then yeah,
- 57:13Speaker 2: I'm just taking it to ran with it, taking it
- 57:15Speaker 2: to another level so people can support you by merch
- 57:17Speaker 2: all that ship Zila fa two dot com. Yes, sir,
- 57:20Speaker 2: y'all go tap in Azila fatu dot com and uh.

- 57:27Speaker 2: I got, I got Tampa. I'll be down there at Tampa. Damn.
- 57:29Speaker 2: I don't even know the story.
- 57:30Speaker 1: I never know. You might even get you never know.
- 57:32Speaker 1: It's Tampa.
- 57:33Speaker 2: Yes, stay tuned.
- 57:35Speaker 1: But all I know is if you come.

- 57:49Speaker 2: mask man, I don't need no mask man. They gonna
