- 0:12Genuine issues. Brought to you by the
- 0:14hypnotherapist, demanded by celebrities, CEOs and even
- 0:18royalty, Adam Cox. These recordings took place live
- 0:22from Evans Clinic in London's world famous Harley Street, so
- 0:29get yourself comfortable and enjoy today's episode of The
- 0:33Hypnotist. Hi, it's Adam here.
- 0:40Now. Let me ask you a question.
- 0:42Do you think that if you woke up at maybe 4 AM, 5:00 AM every
- 0:49single day, that it could have a real jet start and jump start to
- 0:54the quality of your life and your productivity?
- 0:57Because a lot of people do think that, and they think that how
- 1:00they start the day is really a statement of intent.
- 1:04And that actually a lot of really good things can be built
- 1:07on that. And it has some logic to it in
- 1:10the sense that generally people are sleeping at 4:00 or 5:00 AM,
- 1:15and therefore, if you're awake at that time, you're unlikely to
- 1:19get calls, you're unlikely to have other responsibilities
- 1:21because people just assume that you are sleeping.
- 1:25Now, if you were to do certain things in that window where you
- 1:30have uninterrupted time, what are the things that could have
- 1:33the biggest positive impact on your life?
- 1:37For some people, it's learning. They want to study something.
- 1:40For other people, it's productive work.
- 1:41They just want to get the work done.
- 1:43For other people, it might be exercise or meditation.
- 1:46But I want you to think that if you had a slightly earlier start
- 1:49than you currently do, what could you do in that extra
- 1:52window that you've bought yourself so that you can get
- 1:55things done? Because a lot of people at the
- 1:58end of the day, there is just this winding down.
- 2:01There isn't a lot of productive stuff that gets done in the last
- 2:03hour of the day, but there can be a lot of productive stuff
- 2:06done in the first hour of the day.
- 2:08Now, technically, if you're sleeping the same amount of
- 2:11time, you don't really buy yourself a time.
- 2:13It just means waking up earlier. It's the intention, the rituals
- 2:18and the habits that get built around that that's the key thing
- 2:22that makes it work. And there is an author, I think
- 2:26his name is Robin Sharma, very famous for a book about 4:00 AM
- 2:31starts. And there's a whole community of
- 2:33people that really build that into an identity.
- 2:37The key thing is not the time that you wake up, it's what you
- 2:40do when you wake up. And a lot of people will hit the
- 2:44snooze button 3 or 4 times. They will scroll on social
- 2:48media. They will just, you know, waste
- 2:51the time and then take that energy into the working day.
- 2:55And that means that they're not really building up the momentum.
- 2:58So I would say it doesn't matter if it's a 4:00 AM start, 5:00 AM
- 3:01start or a 6:00 AM start. The key thing is what do you
- 3:05want to build as a morning ritual to enable you to really
- 3:10get an edge and really treat it like a springboard into the day
- 3:14so that what you do in that first hour or so creates
- 3:17momentum that carries on throughout the entire day.
- 3:20So think about the ritual, think of the time and listen to that.
- 3:25And if your time is 6:00 AM and the one in this session is 5:00
- 3:28AM, just think of 6:00 AM as your startup time.
- 3:33The client wanted to meditate, learn, exercise, and really
- 3:37think about what they wanted to do for the day.
- 3:39It might be different priorities and rituals for you, so really
- 3:43think about what you would want to do in that additional time
- 3:46that you set out for the very first things that you do when
- 3:50you wake up. And if you like the idea of
- 3:52having a ritual or a morning routine scripted and created
- 3:57just for you, have a look on my website, adamcox.co.uk or the
- 4:01description of this episode, and you'll see lots of different
- 4:04ways in which you can work with me directly so that you can have
- 4:07something created for you rather than listening to something that
- 4:11was created for someone else. Now, for now, I'd encourage you
- 4:15to find a quiet, comfortable place where you're not going to
- 4:18be distracted or disturbed. Relax and enjoy the session.
- 4:36Take a deep breath in, and as you breathe in, breathe in that
- 4:47resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 4:53And as you exhale, give permission to release any
- 5:02feelings of frustration, any doubts, any stress, worries and
- 5:10concerns, and breathing in a wonderful feeling of positivity
- 5:18and hope. Exhaling what you don't need and
- 5:24breathing in the resources that you do, allowing each breath to
- 5:31take you deeper and deeper. Relax now.
- 5:43And I want you to scan your body for any clues of any blocks, any
- 5:51tension, any echoes of something that isn't needed right now.
- 5:59And just imagine as you breathe in, those tensions and blocks
- 6:07are melting away. And as you exhale, feel those
- 6:13tensions, those blocks, those worries and concerns starting to
- 6:18leave your body in that outward breath, Maybe you can position
- 6:27your body into an even more comfortable position, allowing
- 6:33your body to connect, rest, and relax in a way that requires no
- 6:40effort at all, and just allow your breathing to find its own
- 6:46rhythm, where there's nothing you need to force and nothing
- 6:53you need to achieve in this moment.
- 7:00Almost like you're just noticing the simple rhythm of breathing
- 7:03in and breathing out. And as you continue to breathe
- 7:12in and breathe out, you may notice how every exhale seems to
- 7:20carry away a little more of that unnecessary tension, like a
- 7:27quiet tide receding from the shore, where every inhale brings
- 7:35a sense of quiet clarity, as though your mind is gently
- 7:41opening space. Because the mind has a
- 7:47remarkable ability to shift, and not always through effort, but
- 7:56through awareness and intention. I want you to imagine a time of
- 8:24day that most people never truly see.
- 8:31Not midnight, not late evening, but that quiet space before the
- 8:39world becomes busy, the hour when streets are still, at a
- 8:48time when the air feels slightly different, when the noise of
- 8:55expectation, of the harm of movement, hasn't arrived yet.
- 9:02I want you to think of five in the morning, a time that feels
- 9:12private and and while most of the world sleeps, you awaken not
- 9:24with struggle, but with a real sense of intention.
- 9:31Because there's something magical about that early hour
- 9:34that feels powerful. It is uncontested.
- 9:43No one is expecting to reach you at that time.
- 9:47You don't have responsibilities at that time.
- 9:52You're not meant to be working at that time.
- 9:57And I want you to imagine that window of no messages and no
- 10:02emails and no interruptions. Time of no noise competing for
- 10:08your mind, just space. And sometimes when you give
- 10:18yourself space, it allows something valuable, sometimes
- 10:27inspirational, to emerge. And what if in that window of
- 10:34time, you elevate to a new level of focus, the kind of focus that
- 10:43builds things, new ideas, competency, a feeling of
- 10:52momentum. And I wonder if you can unlock
- 10:59something important, an idea that one hour of focused
- 11:06intention each morning is not just an hour.
- 11:14Across a week, it becomes many hours.
- 11:19Across months it becomes hundreds.
- 11:22And across six months, it can transform and unleash a whole
- 11:31new level to your identity. I want you to imagine observing
- 11:40yourself in the future. Imagine you're in your bedroom,
- 11:46seeing you awaken at exactly 5:00 AM.
- 11:50And when you see that version of you awaken, there is something
- 11:57deeper also awakening within you.
- 12:02An identity. An identity that isn't forced or
- 12:08imposed, but an identity that synergizes, connects, and
- 12:16resonates with the version of you that is disciplined and
- 12:24consistent. So when you see that version of
- 12:28you waking up at 5:00 AM, maybe you see yourself smiling, not
- 12:36groaning. When the alarm clock goes, there
- 12:41is an immediate desire to leave the bed.
- 12:47I want you to see that future version of you as someone who is
- 12:52disciplined, is consistent, a version of you becoming more
- 12:58competent every day. I want you to see that each
- 13:06morning you awaken at 5:00 AM and put that time to use sends a
- 13:11quiet message to your own mind that you do what matters and the
- 13:18mind listens. And each time you wake, your
- 13:24mind gathers evidence. Evidence that you are someone
- 13:30who keeps promises to yourself, and that evidence begins to
- 13:35shape how you begin to see yourself.
- 13:41I think within days, not weeks or months, you'll notice a shift
- 13:49where you're no longer someone trying to become disciplined.
- 13:53You are someone who is disciplined, and the 5:00 AM
- 14:00rituals are just evidence that you are that disciplined,
- 14:06consistent, happy person because you notice that whether you're
- 14:14meditating, learning, or exercising, you're smiling.
- 14:21And maybe there's a reason why I want you to imagine the first
- 14:27moments of that morning ritual. You wake naturally.
- 14:32Maybe there is an alarm, but the room is quiet.
- 14:39Your body rises easily. And maybe you start with
- 14:44meditation. Or maybe you start with
- 14:47exercise. But if you start with
- 14:51meditation, see yourself sitting with your legs crossed, still
- 14:58breathing slowly, and maybe you're just lost in your own
- 15:02thoughts. Or maybe you're being guided by
- 15:07music or messages, and you're not trying to control your
- 15:12thoughts, you're just allowing them to drift like clouds across
- 15:17the sky. And in that stillness, your mind
- 15:25begins to sharpen, your identity awaken, Clarity grows, awareness
- 15:33deepens, and you notice ideas forming, solutions appearing.
- 15:43Because the mind works best when it has that breathing space to
- 15:48think. Meditation becomes the
- 15:53sharpening of your mental blade, and perhaps after the
- 15:59meditation, when the mind is awakened, the body awakens.
- 16:06And imagine yourself moving, maybe lifting weights, doing
- 16:11exercise, feeling the muscles engage.
- 16:16Maybe there's stretching, maybe there's cardio.
- 16:20But I want you to see you're doing something that is a gift
- 16:24to your future self, because that's what exercise is.
- 16:31By doing something difficult today, your future self becomes
- 16:36more energized, stronger, more flexible, or alive.
- 16:44You are giving the gift of vitality.
- 16:50And maybe you notice something that is the days turn into
- 16:53weeks. Exercise in the morning does
- 16:58something powerful, if not remarkable.
- 17:03It signals to the brain that the day has begun.
- 17:09Energy rises, focus improves, and confidence grows because a
- 17:17body that moves creates a mind that moves, and this movement
- 17:25becomes a daily signal, a dose of vitality.
- 17:31And perhaps the next phase is learning, reading, studying, or
- 17:45listening. Maybe it's exploring ideas
- 17:51connected to your career, and it becomes more powerful because
- 17:56you're doing this while the world around you is still
- 18:00asleep. Because there are no
- 18:05interruptions. Your mind absorbs information
- 18:10easily. Concepts become clearer, skills
- 18:17deepen, knowledge compounds. And maybe, maybe there's 30
- 18:28minutes or an hour of learning each morning.
- 18:35That could be five hours each week and over six months more
- 18:40than 100 hours of focus learning.
- 18:45Then you start to realize how few people ever invest that much
- 18:50time into their own growth. So while others around you are
- 18:56wondering why progress feels slow, you are quietly building
- 19:02capability, competence, mastery. In the same way, when you take a
- 19:13deep breath in, it encourages a deep breath out.
- 19:19And when you wake up early in the morning, it creates a
- 19:23natural rhythm where earlier your mind is beginning to
- 19:28prepare for rest. Because if you wake up at 5 and
- 19:37go to bed at midnight, that is not sustainable.
- 19:46You will start to feel tired and drained.
- 19:51But knowing that you know that I want you to feel that when 9:00
- 19:56approaches, you are unleashing and unlocking a calm desire to
- 20:02wind down screens, fade devices, put away lights often.
- 20:12Your phone loses its importance because sleep is the priority
- 20:20and you know that the phone can wait, but your future, your
- 20:25ambitions, your desires cannot. So you create gentle boundaries
- 20:34to avoid late night scrolling and going to sleep to sabotage
- 20:41that early start. The phone rests away from the
- 20:47bed, notifications lose their power, and instead of endless
- 20:54scrolling, you prepare for sleep.
- 20:58Because sleep is an investment. Sleep is preparation.
- 21:05Preparation for the quiet hour where your advantage begins
- 21:11again. And I wonder if you can imagine
- 21:15six months from now, six months of work day is waking up at 5:00
- 21:22AM. Jump forward in time and imagine
- 21:27you've already lived that, and you look back and notice the
- 21:32difference. How your mornings feel
- 21:35structured, your mind feels sharper and your energy, your
- 21:42ambition, your productivity has amplified way beyond what it
- 21:49used to be. Your work and your results have
- 21:54improved. Your knowledge has deepened.
- 21:58But something more powerful has happened.
- 22:03Your very identity has evolved because you are someone who does
- 22:10the important things first. You are someone who invests in
- 22:15growth before the world begins demanding your attention.
- 22:20You are someone whose consistency creates infinite
- 22:27opportunities. And I want you to imagine what
- 22:34your results are six months of living this way, what your
- 22:39income is, the impact it's had in your health, your career,
- 22:47your quality of life. And as you connect with that
- 22:54desirable future, it's like you're programming a destination
- 23:01into a SAT NAV. Your unconscious now knows what
- 23:06you're doing all this for. It knows what it takes to fully
- 23:12unleash that identity of discipline, consistency, but
- 23:18most of all, happiness. But it's time to return now
- 23:24taking all of these changes, resources and intentions with
- 23:28you. Take a deep breath in through
- 23:33your nose and out through your nose.
- 23:37Just wiggle your fingers, wiggle your toes, connect and calibrate
- 23:42into the here and the now. So I now count from 1:00 to
- 23:4610:00 to awaken you. Starting to count 123 waking up
- 23:55456 more alert. 7-8. Open your eyes, open your eyes,
- 24:01910 wide awake, wide awake, wide awake.
