- 1:58Speaker 1: be diving into a conversation that my guest and I
- 2:03Speaker 1: both came to separately from one another and organically, a
- 2:08Speaker 1: conversation on the Buffalo Bills roster currently as it stands
- 2:12Speaker 1: on paper, comparing that to the twenty twenty five Buffalo
- 2:18Speaker 1: Bills roster. We're going to go position group by position group,
- 2:21Speaker 1: talk about them in depth and at a high level.
- 2:24Speaker 1: At the same time, we've got some bonus questions for
- 2:28Speaker 1: some position groups because some of the conversation is either
- 2:31Speaker 1: very straightforward due to the position group being largely the
- 2:33Speaker 1: same as last year, and or you know, a smaller
- 2:36Speaker 1: group of those two things in conjunction with one another.
- 2:39Speaker 1: But we have very fun discussion on this episode as
- 2:41Speaker 1: we continue to trudge forward here in the off season
- 2:44Speaker 1: on the show and really set the table for twenty
- 2:47Speaker 1: twenty six, what things mean, what things could look like,
- 2:51Speaker 1: and then you know, as I mentioned on the show
- 2:53Speaker 1: several times, I do have some significant deep dives going
- 2:56Speaker 1: forward in terms of schematic conversations, film breakdowns, some thirteen
- 3:01Speaker 1: personnel things, some more. Jim Lennard defense things and some
- 3:04Speaker 1: misconceptions and notions and all of these things. I see
- 3:07Speaker 1: you in the chat, RJ. I appreciate you. I'm glad
- 3:09Speaker 1: you're excited for this exercise. I look forward to your
- 3:11Speaker 1: thoughts about how each position group actually our j I
- 3:15Speaker 1: am significant sincerely interested in your thoughts. Arjie says, I
- 3:19Speaker 1: think this exercise should be fun tonight, RJU. And I'm
- 3:22Speaker 1: not saying this negatively. I know how like pessimistic you are,
- 3:25Speaker 1: but I'm wondering what you're more down on, like this
- 3:29Speaker 1: iteration of the bills versus last year. So I'm actually
- 3:31Speaker 1: kind of interested to see your thoughts as we go uh,
- 3:33Speaker 1: position group by position group. As always, those of you
- 3:36Speaker 1: joining us live and you know, playing with us at home,
- 3:40Speaker 1: feel free to give us your answers as we go through,
- 3:42Speaker 1: along with questions, thoughts, comments, concerns, anything and everything. I
- 3:45Speaker 1: have alluded to my guests on this episode by mentioning
- 3:49Speaker 1: I guess by saying you know the word we and
- 3:52Speaker 1: not saying the word I. I'm very excited to have
- 3:55Speaker 1: this guest tonight. As he returns to the show. Usually
- 3:58Speaker 1: he's been on multiple times throughout the off season, at
- 4:01Speaker 1: this point. But he is a very busy man and
- 4:04Speaker 1: is very much in demand. So I appreciate that he
- 4:07Speaker 1: took the time to join me and come back and
- 4:09Speaker 1: come back home, come back to his roots. Welcoming to
- 4:12Speaker 1: the show for the umpteenth time. I've lost count. I
- 4:15Speaker 1: have no idea, mister Kendall, Mursky Kendall, welcome back. Thank
- 4:21Speaker 1: you for taking the time. I appreciate you.
- 4:23Speaker 2: Appreciate you, man. It's great to be back.
- 4:25Speaker 4: And yeah, like you said, it really kind of does
- 4:28Speaker 4: feel like home.
- 4:28Speaker 2: It's kind of wild. It has been a minute.
- 4:31Speaker 4: I agree, it's crazy that I haven't been here to
- 4:35Speaker 4: this point in the off season. But yeah, I got
- 4:38Speaker 4: a lot of stuff going on personally, planning wedding stuff,
- 4:42Speaker 4: dealing with apartment nonsense. But happy to just get a
- 4:47Speaker 4: little bit of reprieve and get to talk a little football.
- 4:50Speaker 2: So it's great to be back, great to feel like home.
- 4:53Speaker 1: Sometimes adulting is really tough and it just hits you,
- 4:58Speaker 1: and sometimes you get hit by like all the ad
- 5:00Speaker 1: stuff at one time at like, oh yeah, it goes Yeah.
- 5:03Speaker 4: This morning I tried to go to work and a
- 5:05Speaker 4: car just wouldn't start, you know, Oh yeah, you know,
- 5:08Speaker 4: just a lot of flickering and oh, I guess any
- 5:10Speaker 4: new car battery and it's like, wow, all right, just
- 5:13Speaker 4: throw that on the list.
- 5:14Speaker 2: But such as life, you deal with it. You pay
- 5:16Speaker 2: the money.
- 5:17Speaker 4: That that's why we work, and you keep it moving.
- 5:21Speaker 1: That's true, that's true. I'm sorry. These are two funny cobbits.
- 5:25Speaker 1: R J said, Kendall's going to look twenty five at
- 5:27Speaker 1: seventy five, And I like this comment that says good
- 5:31Speaker 1: acoustics for Kendall considering the empty football, that's very good.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I had a similar car issue back during the January February.
- 5:39Speaker 1: I drove somewhere completely fine, all good. To get back in,
- 5:46Speaker 1: the car wouldn't start, and it was because it was
- 5:50Speaker 1: so cold. That was when we were going through a
- 5:51Speaker 1: cold spill here in Buffalo where it was like with
- 5:54Speaker 1: the wind chill it was like negative fifteen for like
- 5:56Speaker 1: a week and a half two week. It was brutal,
- 5:58Speaker 1: super cold, and so the cold like sap the battery,
- 6:01Speaker 1: which the battery was like five six years old, I think,
- 6:04Speaker 1: so it's understandable. But then like when it was getting
- 6:06Speaker 1: worked on, they were like, oh yeah, we've had to
- 6:09Speaker 1: do so many batteries in the last two weeks. Everybody's
- 6:11Speaker 1: batteries are dying because of the cold. And I was like, oh,
- 6:13Speaker 1: this is just like a part of adulting that sucks,
- 6:15Speaker 1: and like you don't think about it until it happens,
- 6:17Speaker 1: like you're just like, here I go. And then I
- 6:19Speaker 1: got in the car and I was like, why won't
- 6:21Speaker 1: the brake push in so I can start the car?
- 6:23Speaker 1: And then yeah, flickerings and turnings on and I was like,
- 6:27Speaker 1: what is what is happening here? What do I do?
- 6:30Speaker 1: And like my wife was go on our way to
- 6:32Speaker 1: the airport, and so I was like, I'm straight solo,
- 6:36Speaker 1: and like how do you pivot? Yeah, sometimes being an
- 6:39Speaker 1: adult sucks, like really hard sometimes, especially when everything compounds,
- 6:43Speaker 1: like ye, good things compounding. You've had some annoying things compounding,
- 6:47Speaker 1: and you can't you can't pick and chew as an adult.
- 6:50Speaker 2: No, you gotta just compartmentalize what you want to think about.
- 6:53Speaker 1: Yes, yes, speaking of compartmentalized, we will be talking about
- 6:57Speaker 1: many compartments of the Buffalo Bills episode as we go,
- 7:01Speaker 1: position group by position group and compare twenty twenty six
- 7:05Speaker 1: to twenty twenty five high level though overall as a
- 7:09Speaker 1: team because You and I have talked a bunch again,
- 7:11Speaker 1: not officially on the airwaves here this offseason, but you
- 7:15Speaker 1: and I, I mean we text fairly regularly anyway, but
- 7:18Speaker 1: I feel like we've had a lot of I don't
- 7:22Speaker 1: even know the right way to like label it or
- 7:24Speaker 1: contextualize it, but I feel like we've had a lot
- 7:27Speaker 1: of discussion this year on like this iteration of the bills,
- 7:32Speaker 1: with the direction of the bills, and really trying to
- 7:35Speaker 1: like parse who and what they are starting for the
- 7:39Speaker 1: top like top level organization, top down.
- 7:42Speaker 4: I almost feel like our last three months of text
- 7:45Speaker 4: is kind of going to be today's.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Pub the episode, you know, right, Like we should have
- 7:50Speaker 1: just saved us the time and like put us over
- 7:54Speaker 1: to the side and did a share skin. I could
- 7:55Speaker 1: have just like shared my phone and all right.
- 7:57Speaker 4: So I said this like two months ago. I think
- 8:00Speaker 4: I'm alluding to this right now. I don't remember when
- 8:02Speaker 4: I said it, but I definitely said it.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Here's this tweet that I sent you of this film
- 8:06Speaker 1: to what I was referencing. Yeah, I really you know,
- 8:08Speaker 1: that's actually a super fair and funny point. But I
- 8:11Speaker 1: think that again that speaks to like just once, especially
- 8:16Speaker 1: once the season ended, McDermott goes, I feel like we've
- 8:18Speaker 1: had so much discussion on like where do the bills
- 8:22Speaker 1: go from here? Yeah? Next? Yes? What's next?
- 8:26Speaker 4: Mean?
- 8:27Speaker 1: Good? Bad? Bottom falls, out reach the mountain top, all
- 8:31Speaker 1: these things.
- 8:32Speaker 4: You know, I knew, both taking each other's temperatures constantly,
- 8:36Speaker 4: like how do you feel about this? I think I
- 8:38Speaker 4: know how I feel, but I'm curious where you're at,
- 8:41Speaker 4: just to kind of like vindicate or validate myself a
- 8:44Speaker 4: little bit. And it's it's very interesting, like we're gonna
- 8:48Speaker 4: see it, We're gonna see it happen again today.
- 8:49Speaker 2: It's just it's gonna be the same thing without thumbs.
- 8:52Speaker 1: Yeah, without thumb said, without the typos and autocorrect. Yeah.
- 8:57Speaker 1: I feel like we choose or really speaking for myself,
- 8:59Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, we choose each other as
- 9:01Speaker 1: sounding boards for thoughts. Yeah, like I'm thinking this, what
- 9:04Speaker 1: are you thinking? It's like, dude, I was thinking the
- 9:06Speaker 1: same thing, and it's like, okay, great. I feel validated,
- 9:08Speaker 1: but also I didn't want that to be the opinion
- 9:11Speaker 1: that I had.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Now I'm like, well, we will, we will have the disagreement.
- 9:14Speaker 4: I think at Wide Receiver, I think we'll we'll get
- 9:17Speaker 4: to see it here. I mean we've we've kind of
- 9:20Speaker 4: come around a little bit. I think the discussion today
- 9:22Speaker 4: on wide receiver will be a little bit different from
- 9:25Speaker 4: the discussions we've had through text, but it'll probably come
- 9:28Speaker 4: up like that is probably the only area of the
- 9:30Speaker 4: roster I expect that we'll disagree at any level.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I think for the bonus question, probably, I think for
- 9:37Speaker 1: that's kind of what I mean. Yeah, that's fair, that
- 9:39Speaker 1: is very fair. That's very fair. Oh, a little foreshadowing
- 9:41Speaker 1: everybody's the bonus question? What is it? But high level?
- 9:45Speaker 1: For you? Right now? Where's your head at? For kind
- 9:51Speaker 1: of you know this Buffalo Bill's team. We got another
- 9:53Speaker 1: round of OTA's happening next week. At this time, we
- 9:56Speaker 1: will be in June. Before we know it airs mandatory camp,
- 10:00Speaker 1: there's training camp, there is the preseason will blink, and
- 10:04Speaker 1: the NFL regular season will be here. We are moving
- 10:06Speaker 1: closer and closer, not even inching at this point. It's
- 10:09Speaker 1: like footsteps at this point, like not literally with your feet,
- 10:12Speaker 1: but like feet versus inches. With the season ever approaching,
- 10:16Speaker 1: where's your head at with this Bills team? How you
- 10:18Speaker 1: feel is the roster is like ninety seven ninety eight
- 10:21Speaker 1: percent locked in. We know kind of who and what
- 10:23Speaker 1: they want to be to a degree. We're hearing some
- 10:26Speaker 1: presser stuff. We've seen the roster. Things could change a
- 10:29Speaker 1: little bit, but everything holistically is there. Is there one
- 10:34Speaker 1: thing you're aligned on? Good call Roy, Sorry, the land's
- 10:37Speaker 1: block in the try that's on me? Is there one
- 10:40Speaker 1: thing your head is on? Is it? Is there something
- 10:42Speaker 1: you're fixated on? Is it something big picture, small picture?
- 10:45Speaker 1: Or you just have a general this is where I'm
- 10:47Speaker 1: at on this team? You know, I know it's a
- 10:49Speaker 1: lot to kind of put on you. Where where are
- 10:51Speaker 1: you with this Bill? Where's your head at?
- 10:52Speaker 4: I think it's more of just kind of general feeling
- 10:55Speaker 4: out process because of the year of transition, Like we
- 10:58Speaker 4: tried to do the mini transition, the mini reset under
- 11:01Speaker 4: McDermott in its latter years, and I think that came
- 11:06Speaker 4: with a lot less uncertainty obviously, and with the coaching
- 11:09Speaker 4: personnel change. Yeah, of course Joe Brady's still someone that
- 11:14Speaker 4: we had in house last year, but there are a
- 11:17Speaker 4: lot of changes around the coaching staff and a lot
- 11:20Speaker 4: of changes schematically, and I think this year just brings
- 11:24Speaker 4: a lot more uncertainty. This offseason and a lot more
- 11:28Speaker 4: a lot more questions as a fan base that we
- 11:31Speaker 4: kind of just want answered step by step, and you
- 11:33Speaker 4: can hear it in the urgency in every single press conference,
- 11:37Speaker 4: like those media members are really trying to ask the
- 11:40Speaker 4: right questions because they can feel it from the Bills
- 11:43Speaker 4: fan base, like there are a lot of questions that
- 11:45Speaker 4: still need to be answered, and to be fair to
- 11:48Speaker 4: the Bills, they want to keep their competitive advantage and
- 11:50Speaker 4: kind of keep some of those things a secret and
- 11:52Speaker 4: keep that element of surprise. But yeah, I think the
- 11:56Speaker 4: general theme for me right now is like I'm step
- 11:59Speaker 4: by step, as you said, we're getting closer and closer
- 12:01Speaker 4: to the season. I'm getting more and more comfortable with
- 12:04Speaker 4: the vision now. I think we both have talked about
- 12:08Speaker 4: how we don't inherently agree with the vision every step
- 12:12Speaker 4: by step, yes, but I'm getting more and more comfortable
- 12:16Speaker 4: and understanding of what that vision is and how it
- 12:20Speaker 4: can work despite you know, maybe taking a different step here,
- 12:24Speaker 4: a different step there. But I think the general theme
- 12:27Speaker 4: is just kind of easing away from the uncertainty and
- 12:32Speaker 4: easing closer or inching closer and closer towards understanding and comfortability.
- 12:39Speaker 1: I think it's a fair way to look at it.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I've I'm torn with like my acceptance of the way
- 12:50Speaker 1: they gree are. Yeah, like I don't. I've made my
- 12:53Speaker 1: peace with a lot of things right and even right
- 12:56Speaker 1: also to to kind of say that and step back
- 12:58Speaker 1: a minute, like I I never go into an off
- 13:02Speaker 1: season or anything thinking like, oh, man, I'd love for
- 13:05Speaker 1: the team to get like this guy or make this move.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I don't necessarily think that means it's gonna happen, Like
- 13:10Speaker 1: is it nice if it does? Sure, But I don't
- 13:12Speaker 1: go in being like they're gonna follow my blueprint, They're
- 13:15Speaker 1: gonna follow the playbook. It's never been that way. I mean,
- 13:18Speaker 1: you and I talk about that every year with the
- 13:19Speaker 1: way to Bill's draft classes end up, and we're very
- 13:22Speaker 1: much like, man, they didn't really hit on the guys
- 13:24Speaker 1: like we wanted or the positions. And then I think since.
- 13:27Speaker 2: We started talking, we haven't been happy about a single.
- 13:30Speaker 1: No, we haven't, and I more often than not, those
- 13:32Speaker 1: draft classes are kind.
- 13:33Speaker 4: Of which is why the whole comfortability thing is hard
- 13:37Speaker 4: to say.
- 13:37Speaker 2: But you gotta be optimistic at some point.
- 13:41Speaker 1: And I I'm I don't know, And even in doing
- 13:46Speaker 1: this exercise and kind of moving forward in general. I've
- 13:48Speaker 1: been trying to parse like okay, am I fine with
- 13:52Speaker 1: it to the point where I'm like, no, I think
- 13:54Speaker 1: things will be fine and okay, or have I just
- 13:57Speaker 1: accepted that this is what it is and like, you know,
- 14:00Speaker 1: we'll see what it is, like oh well, whatever happens
- 14:03Speaker 1: happens type of deal. I still don't know like where
- 14:05Speaker 1: I am on that spectrum. I keep coming back to
- 14:08Speaker 1: a point if thank you. I keep coming back to
- 14:11Speaker 1: if Jim Leonard hadn't been hired as d C, oh
- 14:15Speaker 1: my god, I would largely feel quite underwhelmed to negative
- 14:23Speaker 1: and or disappointed about like the team in general, not
- 14:26Speaker 1: just the off season, like the direction of the team.
- 14:28Speaker 1: If Jim Leonard wasn't the it's really him, and I
- 14:32Speaker 1: don't want to say solely, but largely him that is
- 14:36Speaker 1: keeping me like on the fence or positive or kind
- 14:39Speaker 1: of like oh, you know, we'll see because I do
- 14:40Speaker 1: have a ton of faith in him. And even though
- 14:42Speaker 1: I think the ceiling is limited this year somewhat and
- 14:46Speaker 1: not even someone, I think the ceiling of the defense
- 14:48Speaker 1: is limited because they couldn't necessarily get all the body
- 14:50Speaker 1: types or archetypes they ideally could have wanted or had
- 14:53Speaker 1: potentially again presumably one yes, presumably, we don't know, Like
- 14:57Speaker 1: we don't know. Maybe this is exactly what Jim Leonard wanted,
- 15:00Speaker 1: and if that is, I'll tip my cap because I
- 15:02Speaker 1: do trust him very much. But yeah, if not for him,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I would find myself. I definitely think more down than
- 15:10Speaker 1: I have been in previous years. And that doesn't mean
- 15:12Speaker 1: that it's because I'm a Sean McDermott truther and I
- 15:16Speaker 1: think he should still be here and all these things.
- 15:18Speaker 1: You know, the floor, Yeah, I know the floor, and
- 15:21Speaker 1: I feel like very much that everything we've seen this
- 15:25Speaker 1: offseason and the communication from Bean and Pagola and Joe Brady,
- 15:30Speaker 1: you know, and their actions and what they've said about them,
- 15:34Speaker 1: but even just kind of reading what the actions are
- 15:36Speaker 1: and then also taking their words at face value and
- 15:39Speaker 1: at Pegoula as well. This off season to me, again,
- 15:42Speaker 1: it could be completely wrong. We'll see what some of
- 15:44Speaker 1: the players from last year are, what the guys they
- 15:46Speaker 1: brought in this year do. But this off season was
- 15:50Speaker 1: just not one for me, Like, Okay, you fired McDermott
- 15:53Speaker 1: and you made all these statements to get yourself over
- 15:55Speaker 1: the hump, and then you've largely operated in the same
- 15:57Speaker 1: manner and style that you have all these previous off
- 16:00Speaker 1: seasons in terms of archetypes, positions, all these things. And
- 16:03Speaker 1: I'm not necessarily saying that's bad. I think they're still
- 16:05Speaker 1: going to be fine largely. But I think that's kind
- 16:08Speaker 1: of where I'm at too. Is like you, I feel
- 16:12Speaker 1: like you had a wound and instead of like going
- 16:16Speaker 1: in and completely disinfecting it and cleaning it, you're still
- 16:19Speaker 1: just changing the band aid. And it's like, Okay, cool,
- 16:20Speaker 1: we're not bleeding, but I know there's still a wound
- 16:25Speaker 1: and I'm still just doing like a band aid. I
- 16:26Speaker 1: don't know if that's the best analogy your metaphors.
- 16:28Speaker 4: No, it's not bad. I think it's a matter of
- 16:30Speaker 4: perspective though. With that analogy, you think about it like,
- 16:33Speaker 4: I think the way we're perceiving the wound could be
- 16:38Speaker 4: deeper than the way the organization is perceiving the wound
- 16:42Speaker 4: to be right, and I think that could be the disconnect,
- 16:45Speaker 4: And we won't really know how deep the wound is
- 16:48Speaker 4: until we get further and further along in the season.
- 16:50Speaker 4: But I think that really is the analogy I don't
- 16:53Speaker 4: think it's a bad.
- 16:53Speaker 1: One at all.
- 16:54Speaker 4: Thank you.
- 16:55Speaker 1: I appreciate you that. Yeah, And I think that's kind
- 16:57Speaker 1: of tied into it for sure with me, and even
- 17:03Speaker 1: within that, like the I still can't get past maybe
- 17:07Speaker 1: this is me, like, you know, being not stubborn, but
- 17:10Speaker 1: even just hearing like Brandon being at the combine being like, oh,
- 17:14Speaker 1: you know, it'll be nice this time this offseason I'm paraphrasing,
- 17:17Speaker 1: but it'll be nice this time to you know, not
- 17:21Speaker 1: be hamstrung or handcuffed with wanting certain guys and this
- 17:24Speaker 1: and that. And I was like, okay, Stone shot some McDermott,
- 17:27Speaker 1: we're gonna get some changes. And then you went out
- 17:29Speaker 1: and followed the same exact and again that Bradley Chubb
- 17:32Speaker 1: is not a bad player. I don't think TJ. Parker
- 17:34Speaker 1: is a bad player. But you took two edges that
- 17:36Speaker 1: are Sean McDermot would have taken those edges, and I
- 17:40Speaker 1: just and I think that's part of it. What frustrates
- 17:42Speaker 1: me too, is using that small example as a microcosm.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I feel like there was a lot of narrative pushing
- 17:48Speaker 1: internally from the bills and implicit, you know, kind of
- 17:53Speaker 1: puddings out there or implicit like thoughts put out there,
- 17:57Speaker 1: words put out there, and some explicit statements as well
- 17:59Speaker 1: that were very much like, oh, well he was holding
- 18:02Speaker 1: this back and things is gonna be different. Then I
- 18:04Speaker 1: was like, well, you guys just did the same thing.
- 18:05Speaker 1: And I think that gets at me too, Like there
- 18:07Speaker 1: was this notion of you know, huh, this year, guys,
- 18:15Speaker 1: wait for this offseason. It's like, you guys did the
- 18:17Speaker 1: same thing. And even that too, it was like I
- 18:20Speaker 1: didn't really expect it because I was like, how are
- 18:21Speaker 1: you gonna do these changes? You don't have any money,
- 18:23Speaker 1: you don't have a lot of draft capital, Like it's
- 18:26Speaker 1: gonna be even if you wanted to, it's gonna be
- 18:30Speaker 1: hard to do those moves. But you still could have
- 18:32Speaker 1: deviated from the script a little bit, but they stuck
- 18:35Speaker 1: almost exactly to it. Yeah, and I think even the
- 18:39Speaker 1: ones that I think you can make the biggest case
- 18:40Speaker 1: for when people say like, oh, you know, the Bills
- 18:44Speaker 1: wanted more bite and edge, you know, on defense, and
- 18:46Speaker 1: they went out and got Chauncey Gardner Johnson, and they
- 18:49Speaker 1: got Davis and Iguanosin, And I agree, Chauncey probably is
- 18:53Speaker 1: not a Sean McDermot guy with you know, some of
- 18:55Speaker 1: the character things and this and that, but like even
- 18:58Speaker 1: people like oh like ignocin physical press corner long chippy,
- 19:03Speaker 1: the Bills went out and got Rasul Douglas. Yeah, veteran
- 19:06Speaker 1: corner long press chippy. Like Sean mcdermot's defense, haven't haven't.
- 19:12Speaker 1: She hasn't shied away from like press guys or physical
- 19:14Speaker 1: guys or chippiness. And I do think think some things,
- 19:17Speaker 1: some things are different, but I largely feel the same.
- 19:19Speaker 1: And that makes me feel kind of mad because part
- 19:22Speaker 1: of our conversation year after year has been archetype changes.
- 19:25Speaker 1: And I thought this year, even though it wasn't guaranteed, yes,
- 19:28Speaker 1: and they were hamstrung by some bite by fight financially
- 19:31Speaker 1: in draft capitalized all true, so not an easy offseason
- 19:35Speaker 1: to do any type of wholesale changes in any way,
- 19:37Speaker 1: shape or form. But yeah, I just I just expected
- 19:41Speaker 1: some semblance of deviation instead of largely largely following the
- 19:47Speaker 1: same path, which again I don't think that path is terrible.
- 19:50Speaker 1: That path that they've been following has gotten them to
- 19:54Speaker 1: the final four in the AFC pretty much year after year.
- 19:57Speaker 1: But they told us that path wasn't good enough.
- 20:01Speaker 2: And then you follow the path again, and then you.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Follow the path again. It's just interesting, and I just
- 20:05Speaker 1: don't think the coaching is what prevented that path from
- 20:09Speaker 1: working out. You know, as we've talked to hear after year,
- 20:12Speaker 1: it is kind of the roster construction and the archetypes
- 20:14Speaker 1: that they've held themselves to. And yes, coaching can mitigate
- 20:17Speaker 1: or maximize some of those things. But yeah, I still
- 20:20Speaker 1: feel weird. I still feel that Joe said I'm late
- 20:24Speaker 1: but happy to see Kendall got to join you while
- 20:25Speaker 1: he was touring the new stadiums. Yeah, I just feel weird.
- 20:30Speaker 1: And I don't know if that's because I'm caught in
- 20:32Speaker 1: the middle of like, Okay, this is fine, or if
- 20:36Speaker 1: it's just I've accepted it and I'm dead inside.
- 20:39Speaker 4: It's interesting talking about the whole archetype thing and the
- 20:42Speaker 4: contradiction or the hypocrisy around it, because I feel like
- 20:46Speaker 4: the changes this year on the defense are so much
- 20:48Speaker 4: more subtle than we expected them to be. I think
- 20:50Speaker 4: we all did expect those wholesale archetype changes, where we'd
- 20:55Speaker 4: see the nosetech, we'd see the bendy edge, we'd see
- 20:58Speaker 4: a thumper at linebacker, or like we would see all
- 21:02Speaker 4: of those things.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I really thought Leo was like a slam dunk bill, right,
- 21:06Speaker 1: I would like that is going to be a Bill,
- 21:09Speaker 1: And then it was like nope, or if it.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Wasn't him, it was going to be someone similar to him.
- 21:13Speaker 4: I mean, to be fair, there's a little bit of
- 21:16Speaker 4: that in Caleb Alarms Or I mean he's a little
- 21:19Speaker 4: bit lighter, what like twenty pounds lighter actually, but skill
- 21:22Speaker 4: set wise, like there's similarities from a skill set perspective. However,
- 21:30Speaker 4: I think those changes that we're going to see from
- 21:32Speaker 4: the defense are a lot more subtle and they're not
- 21:34Speaker 4: really to do with archetypes, but it's more about like
- 21:36Speaker 4: the personnel deployment, and it's about versatility and interchangeability. And
- 21:43Speaker 4: I think there was an emphasis on keeping the core
- 21:48Speaker 4: structure of the defense and making sure there's going to
- 21:51Speaker 4: be people on the field who have time on task,
- 21:53Speaker 4: and we're going to keep these guys on the field
- 21:54Speaker 4: as much as possible. We're going to try to stay
- 21:56Speaker 4: in our base nickel as much as possible, and we're
- 22:01Speaker 4: gonna be really good at what we do because we're
- 22:03Speaker 4: gonna be well practiced at what we do.
- 22:05Speaker 2: And now I think there's gonna be a level of.
- 22:10Speaker 4: Match up variability and versatility from the defense and specifically
- 22:14Speaker 4: the secondary, And I think we saw a lot of
- 22:17Speaker 4: emphasis on secondary versatility this year from Jim Leonard. I
- 22:22Speaker 4: think that was like one of the biggest things that
- 22:24Speaker 4: he wanted to attack this offseason. And I think it's
- 22:26Speaker 4: evident between all the signings we saw, Like one of
- 22:30Speaker 4: the earliest signings was d Alford. We assume he's gonna
- 22:33Speaker 4: play the slot, but then you also get CJ. Gardner
- 22:36Speaker 4: Johnson who can play the slot, but we're also assuming
- 22:39Speaker 4: he's gonna play deep safety. There's interchangeability of where safety
- 22:43Speaker 4: is aligned between him and Bishop, and then you also
- 22:46Speaker 4: draft kill Gore. Maybe who knows what we're gonna get
- 22:49Speaker 4: from kill Gore this year, but still like you don't
- 22:52Speaker 4: necessarily know where he's going to be aligned from play
- 22:55Speaker 4: to play, and he probably could serve as a big
- 22:58Speaker 4: nickel if needed, probably could serve as a deep safety
- 23:02Speaker 4: or a box safety. Like I think they gave themselves
- 23:05Speaker 4: a lot of answers in the secondary to deploy against
- 23:09Speaker 4: different offenses and different personnels from offenses, and I think
- 23:15Speaker 4: I think that was a big checkbox for Jim Leonard
- 23:18Speaker 4: this offseason, and his biggest thing is always like be
- 23:20Speaker 4: the dictator, don't get dictated to. And I think by
- 23:24Speaker 4: by doing that, I guess maybe with the secondary first,
- 23:26Speaker 4: because that was his specialty, right, that's where he played.
- 23:29Speaker 4: Maybe that was his top priority to be the dictator
- 23:34Speaker 4: from the secondary side of things first, piecemeal things together
- 23:37Speaker 4: on the front seven, and then maybe attack the front
- 23:40Speaker 4: seven next offseason because to be fair, like the youth
- 23:44Speaker 4: of this roster on defense was in the front seven.
- 23:47Speaker 4: It wasn't in the back seven or the back four
- 23:49Speaker 4: or five whatever. So yeah, that that kind of feels
- 23:53Speaker 4: like the subtle change that we saw this offseason from
- 23:56Speaker 4: the defense. But I'm right there with you, Lockstep thinking
- 24:00Speaker 4: we were gonna get wholesale archetype changes and maybe it's
- 24:04Speaker 4: just coming next offseason.
- 24:05Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought it would be for me like wholesale.
- 24:09Speaker 1: I feel like it is across the board, and I
- 24:10Speaker 1: didn't I didn't expect that, but yeah, I thought, like, okay,
- 24:12Speaker 1: we get sweet. I thought we'd either get smatterings or
- 24:14Speaker 1: sprinkling at multiple spots or like one significant deviation, and yeah,
- 24:19Speaker 1: I just felt like everything largely stayed the course again,
- 24:21Speaker 1: which isn't terrible. I do. I do think, you know,
- 24:25Speaker 1: the second the secondary is is a different different is
- 24:29Speaker 1: a definite I combined definite and different and made different
- 24:33Speaker 1: is a definite departure and different, you know element versus
- 24:38Speaker 1: years past like, and we'll get into the details of
- 24:41Speaker 1: you know, those changes and how compares to last year.
- 24:43Speaker 1: But I like what they've done in the secondary, especially
- 24:46Speaker 1: at the safety spot headline of course by Chauncey, who
- 24:50Speaker 1: I've wanted for years, and Jalen Kilgore. So yeah, I
- 24:54Speaker 1: do think the secondary is much more well equipped then you.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Last year's was just that safety alone, but I think
- 25:04Speaker 1: the combinations and how that ties into the larger structure. Yeah,
- 25:08Speaker 1: I think this will be fun. This will be a
- 25:09Speaker 1: fun conversation tonight. I'm excited. Are you ready? Yeah, let's
- 25:12Speaker 1: get after it, all, right, So those of you playing
- 25:14Speaker 1: at home, we're gonna start on the offensive side. Several
- 25:18Speaker 1: of these will go kind of essentially relatively easily. But
- 25:23Speaker 1: those of you playing at home, let us know as
- 25:25Speaker 1: we go through each one, which position group do you
- 25:27Speaker 1: like better? Twenty twenty six versus twenty twenty five. Questions, thoughts, comments, concerns,
- 25:32Speaker 1: anything and everything. Put it into the chat. Super chats
- 25:34Speaker 1: as always get a priority, and I will bring up
- 25:36Speaker 1: comments as we go. We will start with the easiest one.
- 25:41Speaker 1: I didn't even come up with a bonus question for
- 25:43Speaker 1: this because it's just kind of like, man, whatever quarterback
- 25:48Speaker 1: for the Buffalo Bills last year, we are looking at
- 25:52Speaker 1: Josh Allen and Mitch Trubisky. We will see what ends
- 25:56Speaker 1: up happening come preseason time, but right now we're looking
- 26:00Speaker 1: at likely Josh Allen and Kyle Allen. Do you have
- 26:03Speaker 1: any thoughts? Is the backups the exact same thing? Do
- 26:07Speaker 1: you not care whether it's Kyle Allen, Trubisky, whatever, Josh
- 26:10Speaker 1: Allen is the straw that stirs the drink, it is
- 26:12Speaker 1: what it is. Or do you have a thought here?
- 26:15Speaker 4: I mean the main thought is ideally from an on
- 26:18Speaker 4: field perspective, this is net neutral, right, Like Josh Allen
- 26:22Speaker 4: is Josh Allen and hopefully he's the only quarterback that's
- 26:25Speaker 4: on the field, so it doesn't matter. But if you're
- 26:27Speaker 4: evaluating the entire quarterback room as a whole, I will
- 26:30Speaker 4: say this is a slight downgrade. Like I think Mitch
- 26:32Speaker 4: Drubisky is a better backup quarterback than Kyle Allen. I
- 26:36Speaker 4: think it's slight. I really don't think it's much of
- 26:39Speaker 4: a difference. It's pretty negligible. And like I said, we
- 26:41Speaker 4: might not even feel an on field impact this season.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Knockout would So I was.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Gonna say, I was gonna be like, bite your tongue, Kendall,
- 26:49Speaker 1: how do hey?
- 26:50Speaker 4: But for the talking point like that is the reality
- 26:54Speaker 4: of judging upgrade, downgrade or neutral on this entire position group.
- 26:59Speaker 4: Like Kyle is very serviceable, especially as a backup. But
- 27:02Speaker 4: like sure, Mitch showed himself last year, he showed himself
- 27:06Speaker 4: through the past few years, like when he had a chance,
- 27:09Speaker 4: he looked more than capable. And I think there's a
- 27:11Speaker 4: reason that the Titans hedged their bet on cam Ward,
- 27:15Speaker 4: which I don't think they really need to. But I
- 27:18Speaker 4: think there's a reason they did with Mitch Trubisky because
- 27:20Speaker 4: he still has talent. He's not a bum, he's good.
- 27:24Speaker 4: He's just not starter level. But I think he's just
- 27:29Speaker 4: under sufficient starter. He just you know, kind of had
- 27:32Speaker 4: a tough shake of it through his early stretch of
- 27:34Speaker 4: his starting career and kind of has to do the
- 27:37Speaker 4: backup carousel now. But I do think he's a He's
- 27:40Speaker 4: a better backup quarterback than Kyle Allen. So I think
- 27:42Speaker 4: this is a slight down grade as a whole room.
- 27:46Speaker 1: I am there with you. I you know, if Josh
- 27:49Speaker 1: Allen goes down, there's still largely screwed, much like they
- 27:52Speaker 1: were last year. But yeah, I don't know too much
- 27:53Speaker 1: that I would take Trubisky over Kyle Allen. I've still
- 27:56Speaker 1: as a little point that I've still wanted the I
- 28:01Speaker 1: would love to take I mean granted, and the ministerarily
- 28:03Speaker 1: aren't in the position for it. I'd love to get
- 28:05Speaker 1: a quarterback on like Day three, like fifth round, sixth round,
- 28:09Speaker 1: and just have him be the backup for like four
- 28:11Speaker 1: straight years. So like guy in the I mean granted,
- 28:13Speaker 1: maybe it's not staying the system. Well, Joe Brady is
- 28:16Speaker 1: the system at this point if he stays the head coach,
- 28:18Speaker 1: So get somebody who knows that the offense can kind
- 28:21Speaker 1: of build and grow from there. I'd rather not just
- 28:25Speaker 1: I don't want to keep doing the dance every offseason
- 28:27Speaker 1: of like, Okay, which free agent quarterback is Josh Allen's
- 28:30Speaker 1: friend and who which one of them can we bring
- 28:32Speaker 1: in to be the backup again? If Allen goes down,
- 28:36Speaker 1: they're largely screwed, even though they have a good run
- 28:39Speaker 1: game and maybe have a good defense. We'll see, but yeah,
- 28:42Speaker 1: I would take Yeah. I like Joe's common of the
- 28:45Speaker 1: chat saying I wanted Cole Peyton or Haynes King. Yeah,
- 28:47Speaker 1: I would. I also want like a fun quarterback for
- 28:50Speaker 1: the preseason because they play so much like I'd love
- 28:53Speaker 1: to just be like Joe, I'm gonna watch Cole Payton
- 28:55Speaker 1: ball out like this preseason, and even if he doesn't
- 28:57Speaker 1: ball out, it's just at least fun or new and
- 29:00Speaker 1: fun because it's new potentially. But yeah, if Josh Allen
- 29:03Speaker 1: goes down, it is what it is. But yeah, I
- 29:05Speaker 1: would lean towards twenty twenty five as well, because I
- 29:08Speaker 1: would take Mitch Trubisky over Kyle Who said it? Who
- 29:11Speaker 1: said in the chat Kyle not Josh. Ath any other
- 29:16Speaker 1: thoughts on quarterback.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I'm with you on the rookie thing.
- 29:20Speaker 4: I just think we're probably like four years away from
- 29:22Speaker 4: that actually happening. I don't think they're going to pull
- 29:24Speaker 4: the trigger on some a rookie contract being the backup
- 29:28Speaker 4: until Josh is really in like his last contract, presumably
- 29:32Speaker 4: last contract.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Cowards coward kid. All right, we'll move on to running back.
- 29:40Speaker 1: So we have a bonus question for this one, and
- 29:42Speaker 1: that's because this group is largely the same as it
- 29:47Speaker 1: was last year. You know, James Cook, Ty Johnson, Ray Davis, Francore.
- 29:52Speaker 1: That is essentially what the running back room was last year.
- 29:56Speaker 1: We largely have the same group this year. Correct thoughts,
- 30:00Speaker 1: questions comments on that from you, kendall anyway, shape or form.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Uh. Before we get to the bonus, I will say
- 30:06Speaker 4: like this is obviously net neutral, but I will say
- 30:09Speaker 4: that this probably does depend on development of Ray Davis,
- 30:13Speaker 4: like as we see this through this season. I think
- 30:18Speaker 4: this answer and the accuracy of this answer, actually comes
- 30:21Speaker 4: down to are we gonna get Ray Davis the rookie
- 30:24Speaker 4: or are we gonna get Ray Davis the sophomore slump?
- 30:26Speaker 2: As running back?
- 30:27Speaker 1: What I also think is interesting with that is does
- 30:31Speaker 1: James Cook continue to dominate the time share and how
- 30:36Speaker 1: much of that was related to the sophomore slum? I wonder, yeah, like,
- 30:39Speaker 1: we we very much saw a rookie Ray Davis and
- 30:42Speaker 1: even Ty Johnson, but Johnson was banged up a little
- 30:44Speaker 1: bit last year. If I remember, we we really saw
- 30:49Speaker 1: like a decent like I don't want to use this
- 30:51Speaker 1: term because I'm gonna use this term, but it's I
- 30:52Speaker 1: don't mean it how it's necessarily used. Then we did
- 30:55Speaker 1: kind of see something like a three headed monster in
- 30:58Speaker 1: twenty twenty What do you think I was gonna say?
- 31:00Speaker 2: Thunder lightning out Chris Damn.
- 31:03Speaker 1: We did see in like twenty twenty four a little
- 31:07Speaker 1: more like Cook and Davis and Ty Johnson, like a
- 31:10Speaker 1: little bit all three of these things. Then they paid
- 31:11Speaker 1: Cook and then it was like it's all not all,
- 31:15Speaker 1: but it's mainly James Cook. And yeah, like I wonder
- 31:19Speaker 1: was that because they weren't seeing it from Davis or
- 31:22Speaker 1: were we not seeing it from Davis because he wasn't
- 31:24Speaker 1: really in rhythm because he wasn't really getting touches and
- 31:27Speaker 1: it was all going through James Cook. And then James
- 31:30Speaker 1: Cook led the league in rushing last year, So it's like,
- 31:33Speaker 1: do you really deviate from that at all? I am
- 31:37Speaker 1: interested in oh, fair common from Joe too, saying I
- 31:40Speaker 1: wonder if the kick returner role bled into Ray Davis
- 31:43Speaker 1: as a pure runner in the offense. Maybe the expanded
- 31:45Speaker 1: role was a lot on his plate and took time
- 31:47Speaker 1: fair they had. Joey says, Ray Davis is the greatest
- 31:49Speaker 1: returner we've had in years. Yeah, I wonder do we
- 31:54Speaker 1: see more Ray Davis this year and or just less
- 31:56Speaker 1: James Cook? Like is there more of a rotation? Do
- 31:59Speaker 1: you do? You want to keep Cook fresher for the
- 32:04Speaker 1: playoffs so you can lean on him more potentially in
- 32:08Speaker 1: a let me get in before somebody's like, you don't
- 32:10Speaker 1: think James Cook can last the whole season. You think
- 32:13Speaker 1: he's gonna wear down. Yeah, Like, I'm a firm believer
- 32:17Speaker 1: in James Cook. I'm really interested to see kind of
- 32:20Speaker 1: how the time share works out. And I do think
- 32:22Speaker 1: to your point, yeah, like this is largely the same
- 32:25Speaker 1: kind of a wash, But if there is any sort
- 32:27Speaker 1: of ascension from Ray Davis, honestly, there could be another
- 32:31Speaker 1: jump for James Cook. Like James Cook could be even
- 32:35Speaker 1: better than twenty twenty five Cook. He's improved year after year.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I think.
- 32:40Speaker 2: Yeah, to actually bite off is from Ray Davis.
- 32:44Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's fair, and I agree anything else
- 32:47Speaker 1: we're running back before we get to the bonus question.
- 32:49Speaker 2: No, no, no, that's it.
- 32:50Speaker 1: Okay, So the bonus question for running back because I
- 32:53Speaker 1: didn't want to have two position groups where we're like
- 32:55Speaker 1: everything's the same. Yeah, yeah, okay, great. The bonus question
- 32:58Speaker 1: here for running back is James Cook is a top
- 33:04Speaker 1: blank running back in the league. Those of you playing
- 33:09Speaker 1: at home, feel free to run through a roll the
- 33:11Speaker 1: decks of all the running backs in your head. Feel
- 33:14Speaker 1: free to you know, kind of look it up if
- 33:17Speaker 1: you want to play at home. Kendall, you are the guests.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I will let you go first. James Cook is a
- 33:23Speaker 1: top blank. Oh, Joey says, top five A top what
- 33:28Speaker 1: running back in the NFL heading into twenty twenty six.
- 33:34Speaker 4: I think the conversation starts at four, but I'm going
- 33:40Speaker 4: with five. I think Jean Robinson, Jamir Gibbs, and Christian
- 33:45Speaker 4: McCaffrey I think are non negotiable inside of the top five,
- 33:48Speaker 4: and probably just like that's the top three for me,
- 33:52Speaker 4: and then for me, it's a grouping of James Cook,
- 33:55Speaker 4: Jonathan Taylor, Devon h Chan, Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry. They're
- 33:59Speaker 4: all kind of eying for those last two spots in
- 34:01Speaker 4: the top five. So I think, depending on your flavor,
- 34:05Speaker 4: depending on what you think of those guys, like, it's
- 34:07Speaker 4: really close. I think it depends on if you're someone
- 34:11Speaker 4: who's evaluating based on traits, if you're evaluating based on
- 34:16Speaker 4: physical traits, if you're evaluating based on production. It really
- 34:20Speaker 4: depends on how you're evaluating this thing. But yeah, like
- 34:23Speaker 4: someone just said past game impact, like that's a big
- 34:26Speaker 4: part of it, Like a Jan has more pass game
- 34:28Speaker 4: impact than really anyone other than Jon and CMC in
- 34:33Speaker 4: the league. Right, So it depends where you're valuing this.
- 34:39Speaker 4: But I think you can start the conversation for James
- 34:42Speaker 4: Cook as top four. I think it's a harder conversation
- 34:44Speaker 4: to have, but I think it's very realistic to try
- 34:47Speaker 4: to fit him into the top five.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I agree. I I think if you tell me he's
- 34:55Speaker 1: top five, I will buy it and I will not
- 34:59Speaker 1: balk to much at it. I'm largely in lockstep with you. Again,
- 35:05Speaker 1: this is all I don't want anybody coming into the
- 35:07Speaker 1: Christian McCaffrey's never healthy, Like how do we factor that?
- 35:10Speaker 1: This is like if you know guys are playing if
- 35:12Speaker 1: they're healthy, seven, Yeah, I would take so. To your point,
- 35:19Speaker 1: I think who's your number one? Bijon?
- 35:22Speaker 2: Yeah, it's hard not to say Jon.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I can't not say I love Bejeon Robertson. Yes, I've.
- 35:31Speaker 2: Tex lives in my brain.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah, I will never I was watching what was I watching?
- 35:38Speaker 1: I don't know what I was watching, like last week
- 35:39Speaker 1: or something. I was watching a defense and they were
- 35:41Speaker 1: playing the Falcons, and I just kept getting lost and
- 35:43Speaker 1: like I forgot the plot of what I was doing
- 35:46Speaker 1: and instead just started watching Bijon, And so I just
- 35:48Speaker 1: went and watched Beijon like a bunch of them last year,
- 35:51Speaker 1: like he's there's a there's a clip. Oh, I was
- 35:53Speaker 1: watching Vikings tape Vikings defense. There's a there's a play
- 35:57Speaker 1: last year where he's he's not it's not supposed to
- 36:00Speaker 1: be a run, and they're lined up in shotgun and
- 36:03Speaker 1: the center like snaps it not towards Pennix, but he
- 36:07Speaker 1: snaps it to Bijon, and Bijon's like not ready, like
- 36:10Speaker 1: Bijeon's getting set in. The ball just hits him in
- 36:12Speaker 1: his gut and he catches it and just runs past
- 36:15Speaker 1: two or three defenders, shakes him and he turns into
- 36:17Speaker 1: like a seventeen yard game, and I was just like.
- 36:19Speaker 4: Yeah, he had the most fun tape I think I've
- 36:24Speaker 4: watched since I started doing this in like twenty one.
- 36:28Speaker 4: It was it was so much fun. He's just he's
- 36:32Speaker 4: so fun. And I know people will probably make the
- 36:34Speaker 4: same argument for Jamier Gibbs because he's a lot of fun.
- 36:37Speaker 4: I'd probably argue his NFL tape is better than his
- 36:39Speaker 4: college tape. But like Bijon is just he's so gifted.
- 36:44Speaker 4: It's the same kind of conversation we were having about Saquon,
- 36:46Speaker 4: but I feel like he's actually realized it to a
- 36:49Speaker 4: level that Saquon didn't, and that that probably is because
- 36:53Speaker 4: of injuries at the end. Oh.
- 36:54Speaker 1: I thought like, if Saquon doesn't get hurt early on
- 36:56Speaker 1: with the Giants, I think it's it's a different. Yeah, conversation.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Jeremiah Love is also like a wonky one because I
- 37:02Speaker 1: feel like Jeremi Love is in the Bijon Robinsons, you
- 37:07Speaker 1: know we've never seen. Yeah, So I'm Bijeon is my
- 37:12Speaker 1: hard one, not even close. The heart wants what it wants,
- 37:17Speaker 1: but the take also never lies who is your So
- 37:20Speaker 1: it was what Bijeon Gibbs Gibbs as your two?
- 37:25Speaker 4: I think so he's probably too A to B with CMC,
- 37:29Speaker 4: Like I could go either way with either of those guys.
- 37:32Speaker 1: Fair I think that's solid. I I personally nobody yell
- 37:37Speaker 1: at me. Mm hmm. I would put a Chan ahead
- 37:42Speaker 1: of Cook.
- 37:44Speaker 2: I get it.
- 37:46Speaker 4: I is, if you're gonna name anyone that I didn't
- 37:50Speaker 4: put in this grouping.
- 37:51Speaker 1: No, I think it's largely. I think he's I think
- 37:54Speaker 1: he's in that conversation. I just think like some names
- 37:58Speaker 1: I put ahead of him. I was also about to
- 37:59Speaker 1: say too, I thought I thought you loved a Chan,
- 38:03Speaker 1: but it was it was Isaiah Spiller. I confuse my it.
- 38:06Speaker 4: Was, and I will die on that hill. Unfortunately, Well
- 38:09Speaker 4: I'm dead on that hill.
- 38:10Speaker 1: No, I didn't. I didn't even mean well, I didn't
- 38:15Speaker 1: mean to do it like that. I just I was, hey,
- 38:19Speaker 1: we all, miss. I was literally gonna be like I
- 38:22Speaker 1: was really good, like a big props to you for
- 38:23Speaker 1: your a Chan and then I'll wait.
- 38:25Speaker 2: No, I was kind of out on hold up.
- 38:29Speaker 4: But they they've done a good job with him. I
- 38:31Speaker 4: guess Mike McDaniel's done a good job with h.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Yes, he's so like I thought his contact balance was
- 38:35Speaker 1: better in in in college and he got credit for Yeah,
- 38:41Speaker 1: I would put a Chan again. I think they're in
- 38:43Speaker 1: that same tier in conversation but if if you gave
- 38:45Speaker 1: me a choice right now, like you can pick a
- 38:47Speaker 1: Chan or Cook, I would pick a Chan. I still
- 38:50Speaker 1: would take c CMC. I would still take Saquon Overcook.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I do so against Yeah, so I do think the
- 38:58Speaker 1: conversation can start at four. If you tell me he's four,
- 39:01Speaker 1: I will not balk at that or go crazy. But
- 39:07Speaker 1: I would put oh. And I'm still going back and
- 39:11Speaker 1: forth because I hate ranking things. I don't know why
- 39:13Speaker 1: I gave this a bonus question.
- 39:14Speaker 4: I know it can go so many ways. Jonathan Taylor
- 39:17Speaker 4: is the interesting one to me.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Though, So Taylor. Taylor's pass pro was really black last year,
- 39:22Speaker 1: which scared me. But he's still a better pass protector
- 39:25Speaker 1: than Cook. And I know the Colts fell off week
- 39:31Speaker 1: through what week eleven? Last year, Jonathan Taylor was like
- 39:35Speaker 1: arguably the NFL MVP, not just Offensive Player of the Year.
- 39:38Speaker 4: Like he was the guy until they had to go
- 39:40Speaker 4: shotgum for Philip Rivers.
- 39:42Speaker 1: Yes, like the whole MVP, not just like offensive player.
- 39:45Speaker 1: He was like the MVP. He was carrying them. Taylor
- 39:51Speaker 1: is interesting. I would I personally again if I had
- 39:55Speaker 1: to cook it. Fit is also like a matter here too, right,
- 40:00Speaker 1: Cook just fits so well Taylor and Cook kind of
- 40:04Speaker 1: gives me some pause a little bit. I also really
- 40:08Speaker 1: like Josh Jacobs, but I would probably leaning Cook, especially
- 40:13Speaker 1: from like an age standpoint, Miles on the Tires somebody
- 40:16Speaker 1: else who I love, I wouldn't put him ahead of Cook.
- 40:21Speaker 1: I don't think Bucky Irving gets talked about enough. Is like,
- 40:23Speaker 1: these are just my thoughts this season for him. Yeah,
- 40:26Speaker 1: but I agree hurt saying, but I think Bucky Irving,
- 40:29Speaker 1: if he stays healthy this year, Bucky Irving cements himself
- 40:33Speaker 1: as like a top ten running back. Bucky Irving is
- 40:35Speaker 1: sick in all facets. I yeah, I also too, Like again,
- 40:41Speaker 1: these are just my notes as I went through like
- 40:44Speaker 1: all the running back rooms and different things. Brice Hall
- 40:47Speaker 1: is still one. Yeah that like, yeah, if you told
- 40:51Speaker 1: me you want to take Briece Hall over Cook, I
- 40:53Speaker 1: don't bok it that. So I think Cook is a
- 40:56Speaker 1: top ten running back for Shore. I think full is
- 41:00Speaker 1: the how are we phrase? Nexuse? I was four is
- 41:03Speaker 1: I was.
- 41:03Speaker 2: Saying, it's where the conversation starts.
- 41:06Speaker 1: So that makes it so four is the ceiling? Yeah? Right, okay?
- 41:11Speaker 1: And then I so I think ten is ten is
- 41:13Speaker 1: be four. I think he's firmly in the top ten.
- 41:15Speaker 1: You could tell me he's top five and I would say,
- 41:18Speaker 1: Josh Jacobs is in jail.
- 41:21Speaker 2: Yeah he was. I don't know the actual.
- 41:24Speaker 1: I thought someone was made. I didn't know the comments.
- 41:26Speaker 2: No, it's real, it's real.
- 41:28Speaker 4: I actually took him out of my notes for this
- 41:31Speaker 4: because I also love Josh Jacobs the football playerulation he
- 41:37Speaker 4: did what? Yeah, arrested on five charges, including felony strangulation. Yeah,
- 41:45Speaker 4: it was like it was reported like a few hours
- 41:47Speaker 4: ago on the Insiders.
- 41:48Speaker 1: Why can't people just not do? I know? Man? All right?
- 41:53Speaker 1: So out uh damn. I was not expected.
- 42:00Speaker 4: It was a tough one. Mid notes. I was literally
- 42:04Speaker 4: mid notes doing my top.
- 42:05Speaker 1: I didn't know what this comment was. Oh what Yeah,
- 42:11Speaker 1: this comment that said the one in prison? I was like,
- 42:13Speaker 1: what is this reference? Sing? And then the next comment
- 42:14Speaker 1: was Josh Jacobs is in jail, and I was like,
- 42:17Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Yeah, it's a tough.
- 42:19Speaker 3: Oh.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Why can't just gotta be some man? Why is it
- 42:23Speaker 1: so hard to just not be awful sometimes? Yeah? So
- 42:28Speaker 1: running back at running back. My bigger takeaway here is
- 42:31Speaker 1: how tough of a conversation I think this is, but I.
- 42:34Speaker 4: Yeah, running position is very good. Yes, they struggle to
- 42:37Speaker 4: get paid, right, it's crazy.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Yeah, we were talking about Saquon getting cole Comet money
- 42:42Speaker 1: a couple of years ago. That's how that's how the
- 42:45Speaker 1: running backs get paid. Yeah, I'm I'm fine if you
- 42:49Speaker 1: want to say he's top five if he has another
- 42:52Speaker 1: year like he did last year, not necessarily leading the
- 42:54Speaker 1: league in rushing, but if he has another like top
- 42:56Speaker 1: three yards performance year or and or where he's like again,
- 43:01Speaker 1: I know, Josh Allen is Josh Allen. James Cook was
- 43:05Speaker 1: kind of the engine of the Bills offense.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Oh for sure.
- 43:08Speaker 1: If he has another year like that and or improves
- 43:13Speaker 1: in some area again, it could be better, even better
- 43:15Speaker 1: as with power contact balance, it could be better production
- 43:20Speaker 1: and ability as a pass catcher, could be an improvement
- 43:22Speaker 1: in blocking anything. I'd slam onto him and slam him down.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Its top five easy, right now, I'm gonna say, I'm
- 43:32Speaker 1: gonna say six.
- 43:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it's totally fair. Like going down to
- 43:40Speaker 4: seven to eight ish, I think is totally understandable. I
- 43:43Speaker 4: just I think it's really tough to push him out
- 43:45Speaker 4: of that top eight. Yeah, especially knowing like you could
- 43:49Speaker 4: make arguments for him at four.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a flavor thing.
- 43:54Speaker 4: It's always a flavor thing, always, especially when there's this
- 43:57Speaker 4: many names to work with.
- 43:59Speaker 1: This is also in this fair comment too from Nicholas
- 44:01Speaker 1: and in the back end saying like, I'm interested to
- 44:03Speaker 1: see a Chan without McDaniel, which is very.
- 44:05Speaker 4: Fair, great question. I'm very curio to say what he
- 44:08Speaker 4: looks like. It's gonna be a great evaluation this year just.
- 44:12Speaker 1: With that's fair. That's that's also tough too, because they
- 44:14Speaker 1: have nothing in that Dolphins offense. H James Cook is
- 44:18Speaker 1: very fast. A Chan teleports.
- 44:22Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's different.
- 44:24Speaker 1: A Chan is a six seven. I didn't even need it.
- 44:26Speaker 2: A good call, Joey, Yeah, I thought you were getting
- 44:28Speaker 2: close to it.
- 44:29Speaker 1: I didn't. I didn't and I don't. I really don't
- 44:31Speaker 1: miss those opportunities. I'm man bad miss Josh Jacob News,
- 44:34Speaker 1: I missed the sixty seven opportunity. Yeah, a Chan is
- 44:38Speaker 1: just his speed is just I hate saying that because
- 44:42Speaker 1: people are like, yo, he's different. He really is different
- 44:45Speaker 1: like he It's just different. So yeah, I'm gonna say,
- 44:48Speaker 1: uh so Bijeon CMC Gibbs saquon a Chan Cook. But
- 44:59Speaker 1: I do think SA one eight chan Cook is a
- 45:02Speaker 1: tear Yeah, and they where you fit interchangeable for sure. Also,
- 45:08Speaker 1: everybody stops sleeping on buckear all right? Anything else on
- 45:12Speaker 1: running back?
- 45:13Speaker 2: No, I'm good on that. I'm good on that copy.
- 45:15Speaker 1: That wide receiver. I just kind of want to get
- 45:19Speaker 1: into the bonus question because I feel like twenty twenty
- 45:22Speaker 1: six is better.
- 45:24Speaker 4: Yeah, it's Tony twenty six, Like we swapped out Curtis
- 45:27Speaker 4: Samuel and Elijah Moore for DJ Moore and Skylar Bell right, like, yes,
- 45:32Speaker 4: it's an upgrade.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Yes, I think I will take. Yes, I will take
- 45:36Speaker 1: uh like this I want too. It's comment from Claude Sai.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Jonathan Taylor also has a gear that Cook doesn't have,
- 45:40Speaker 1: same with Breese Hall. I think Cook has a different gear.
- 45:43Speaker 1: I think Cook. Yeah, I just think their gears matter
- 45:47Speaker 1: a little bit more because they're both significantly bigger, bigger
- 45:50Speaker 1: and heavier, like I think Cook. Oh interesting, that gear
- 45:54Speaker 1: conversation is interesting. But I mean like, even if they're
- 45:57Speaker 1: close enough, the gear at Taylor and Breesi's versus.
- 46:00Speaker 4: Cook size and significant of a game ware. Good call there.
- 46:05Speaker 1: So yeah, Bill's twenty twenty six is better. Also Joe,
- 46:08Speaker 1: I see your Sean Dolac comment. How dare you? How
- 46:11Speaker 1: dare you? I was on Joe's show last year and
- 46:15Speaker 1: I just got mad at everybody in the chat, yelling that,
- 46:17Speaker 1: like the Bills didn't grab Sean Dolac because he's from
- 46:19Speaker 1: UB and this and that, like how do you not
- 46:20Speaker 1: grab the UB guy? And I was like, cause UB's
- 46:22Speaker 1: not some football power, Like what are we doing?
- 46:24Speaker 2: Like like it once in the last ye.
- 46:27Speaker 1: It's not like, oh man, I can't believe the Browns
- 46:29Speaker 1: didn't take this ultra productive guy from Ohio State. It's like,
- 46:33Speaker 1: well that's Ohio State.
- 46:34Speaker 4: Like it's not yeah, yeah, you got twenty opportunities each year.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Yeah we're not doing yeah, so yeah. Wide receiver is
- 46:41Speaker 1: better this year. Dj Moore significantly the best receiver of
- 46:44Speaker 1: the Bills have in the room this year and compared
- 46:47Speaker 1: to last year. He knocks everybody down a peg this year,
- 46:50Speaker 1: which is very positive, very good. Help everybody slot into
- 46:53Speaker 1: their more functional roles. Gives Josh Palmer a better opportunity
- 46:57Speaker 1: to succeed instead of being the top of the depth chart. Guy,
- 47:00Speaker 1: gives Khalil Shakir some opportunity to breathe, but also can
- 47:03Speaker 1: function in some Kalios Shakir roles and elements. Kean Coleman
- 47:07Speaker 1: gets knocked down a peg, he can breathe a little bit.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I would like this wide receiver room even more. Again,
- 47:14Speaker 1: I'm gonna run the football kind of guy. If Tyrrel
- 47:16Speaker 1: Shavers was healthy man, all the duo they did last year, Oh,
- 47:19Speaker 1: Shavers was such a good blocker.
- 47:21Speaker 2: It's gonna have to be key on man.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know what, it could work out. But
- 47:25Speaker 1: Shavers was like a Shavers. It's not even like a
- 47:29Speaker 1: Oh he's a wide receiver and he can block, so
- 47:31Speaker 1: we like it more. No, dude was like when he
- 47:34Speaker 1: was in there, it was like eleven and a half personnel. Like,
- 47:37Speaker 1: I would take him. You can kind of take this
- 47:39Speaker 1: for what it's worth. I would take Tyrrel Shavers versus
- 47:43Speaker 1: an edge over Dalton Kincaid versus an edge healthy Dalton Kinkid. Yeah,
- 47:50Speaker 1: I just don't think his frame allows him to do it.
- 47:52Speaker 1: And I think Shavers just playing right there. It is
- 47:56Speaker 1: maybe not that's funny. I've actually I just wanted to say,
- 48:00Speaker 1: I have a part of me is thinking like I
- 48:02Speaker 1: actually don't really think that's crazy. I don't think I
- 48:04Speaker 1: hate that, but yeah, so this wide receiver room is
- 48:08Speaker 1: a better room than last year. DJ Moore definitely a
- 48:12Speaker 1: better like the best receiver the Bills have had between
- 48:14Speaker 1: this year and last year. Any any other thoughts on
- 48:17Speaker 1: that before we get to the bonus question. No, no, no,
- 48:19Speaker 1: let's get to bonus. Okay, bonus question. We're going to
- 48:22Speaker 1: be on this. I mentioned and I also want to
- 48:24Speaker 1: know where you have them and then the rooms that
- 48:27Speaker 1: you have above. Kind of similar to what we did for
- 48:28Speaker 1: the running back conversation. So the bonus question similar if
- 48:32Speaker 1: you can, if not nors bonus question similar to the
- 48:36Speaker 1: running back conversation. The bonus question here the running back
- 48:40Speaker 1: bonus question, I should say, the bonus question for wide
- 48:42Speaker 1: receiver is where does the twenty twenty six Buffalo Bills
- 48:47Speaker 1: wide receiver corps rank across the league? So similar to
- 48:52Speaker 1: what we did, James Cook is a top blank wide
- 48:55Speaker 1: receiver or oh, James Cook is a top blank running
- 49:00Speaker 1: back in the league. The Buffalo Bill's wide receiver room
- 49:03Speaker 1: is a top blank wide receiver room in the n
- 49:08Speaker 1: f L. Kendall, you are the guests four is yours?
- 49:12Speaker 1: What do you have?
- 49:15Speaker 2: I went top sixteen.
- 49:17Speaker 1: Okay, I don't know why I thought you were doing
- 49:20Speaker 1: top ten.
- 49:20Speaker 2: No, no, I can't. I can't get there.
- 49:22Speaker 4: But I think they went from bottom five to solidified
- 49:26Speaker 4: at least mid, like at the very least.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Yeah, they're they're least mid.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Okay, we're not really going to differ.
- 49:33Speaker 4: Yeah, I thought this is like, this was the potential
- 49:36Speaker 4: spot that we would because I know that we had.
- 49:38Speaker 1: I tell you what I learned more about more fair
- 49:40Speaker 1: I I learned more in this exercise doing this is
- 49:44Speaker 1: that I don't love as many wide receiver rooms holistically
- 49:49Speaker 1: as I thought.
- 49:51Speaker 2: The depth in a lot of rooms are really bad.
- 49:53Speaker 4: And that's what it came down to for me, is
- 49:55Speaker 4: like trying to parse that top end isn't a right.
- 50:01Speaker 1: It's the depth is.
- 50:02Speaker 4: Thing in the world. But the depth is good enough.
- 50:05Speaker 4: Like what you're you're confident four to five deep. There's
- 50:10Speaker 4: a lot of rooms where you're only confident like two deep.
- 50:12Speaker 1: So like here, like my the prototypical, prototypical one. But
- 50:15Speaker 1: the one that really hit me I was looking at
- 50:17Speaker 1: the cowboys, which I have.
- 50:19Speaker 2: Oh that's interesting. Mine was the falcons, but keep going
- 50:21Speaker 2: on your.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Oh the falcons one is good. I picked the Cowboys
- 50:24Speaker 1: because Pickens and Lamb yep, sick wide receiver duo top two.
- 50:30Speaker 1: I would take that over the entirety of the Buffalo
- 50:32Speaker 1: Bills wide receiver. But it's Pickens and Lamb. And then
- 50:35Speaker 1: it's like Ryan Flournoy mvs. Jonathan Mingo. I personally like
- 50:41Speaker 1: Cavante Turpin. He's just super fun. Even Flournoy can do
- 50:44Speaker 1: some things. But after Pickens and Lamb, it's.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Like two flyers.
- 50:49Speaker 1: And so I look at the Bills top to bottom
- 50:52Speaker 1: and I'm like, okay, like the depth is better but there,
- 50:56Speaker 1: but Pickens and Lamb.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Just clear and very different.
- 50:59Speaker 4: And I'm going to rank the Cowboys as a better
- 51:03Speaker 4: wide receiver room because of that top end.
- 51:05Speaker 2: Like I I'm sorry.
- 51:06Speaker 4: But I am, but yeah, it makes a really interesting conversation.
- 51:10Speaker 2: Like I I I in all.
- 51:12Speaker 4: Uh transparency, I did not go through the fifteen ahead
- 51:16Speaker 4: of the Bills, but like I went through and I
- 51:19Speaker 4: was looking at the team to do.
- 51:21Speaker 1: That because I thought you were going to be higher.
- 51:23Speaker 4: So now that you're mid, you yeah, no, once I
- 51:25Speaker 4: once I was mid, I was like, all right, can
- 51:27Speaker 4: I just count out like tennis teams that I think
- 51:30Speaker 4: are worse and then I'll feel confident saying that they're
- 51:33Speaker 4: top sixteen ish, like even the Seahawks, like you think
- 51:37Speaker 4: about the Seahawks d like, yeah, they have JSN, but
- 51:41Speaker 4: like after JSN, like we know, we both like Tory Horton.
- 51:45Speaker 4: We both like Rashihihid. What is Cooper cup still like
- 51:48Speaker 4: exactly what is he?
- 51:50Speaker 2: At this point? It feels like.
- 51:52Speaker 1: Jake Bobo Baby.
- 51:53Speaker 4: He's been doing Jake Bobo since Jake Bobo GRADUATD No.
- 51:57Speaker 1: That's a good one too, because like I would did
- 52:00Speaker 1: you rather have let's play that right now real quick.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Would you rather have the Bills wide receiver room or
- 52:04Speaker 4: the Seahawks wide receiver room. I'd rather have the Seahawks
- 52:06Speaker 4: wide receiver. Okay, I worried and does like that.
- 52:09Speaker 1: How much of that is carried by JSN versus your
- 52:11Speaker 1: love for Shahied.
- 52:14Speaker 4: It's more JSN, but like having Shaheed and Horton is
- 52:18Speaker 4: a really nice like, Okay, we have some guys waiting
- 52:22Speaker 4: in the wing.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Well, I guess more Horton is waiting in the wings
- 52:24Speaker 2: than anything.
- 52:25Speaker 1: He was sweet before he went down with injury last year.
- 52:27Speaker 1: But again, we both liked him for years at Colorado state,
- 52:33Speaker 1: Trey McBride Colorado state as well.
- 52:35Speaker 4: Yeah, Trey McBride Colorado him in person, correct, Yeah, I
- 52:39Speaker 4: met Joe Shane that day.
- 52:40Speaker 1: Yep, yep, yep, yep.
- 52:44Speaker 4: Washington Commanders is another like really low on the board.
- 52:46Speaker 4: One you got Terry McLaurin, but then like after that
- 52:49Speaker 4: it's Treylon Burks.
- 52:51Speaker 1: Yeah, and then you're hold Antonio Williams.
- 52:54Speaker 4: Like, I'm sure there, I'm sure they're gonna add someone,
- 52:57Speaker 4: like everyone's talking, they're gonna get digs or something like that, Like, yes,
- 53:00Speaker 4: that'll help the room.
- 53:01Speaker 2: But even if they get digs, does that put them
- 53:04Speaker 2: into a top sixteen discussion? I really don't even know.
- 53:07Speaker 4: Like, it definitely makes them more competitive, and that's non negotiable,
- 53:11Speaker 4: but I don't know if it gets them to top
- 53:12Speaker 4: half conversations.
- 53:14Speaker 1: Oh, I think that's fair. What do you make of
- 53:17Speaker 1: what do you make of the Packers wide receiver room
- 53:19Speaker 1: now with all the exits and now you're looking at
- 53:20Speaker 1: like a top three essentially of Watson, Golden, and Jaden Reid.
- 53:24Speaker 4: So this one was interesting that I I really like
- 53:29Speaker 4: Watson and Reid. I don't know what to make of
- 53:31Speaker 4: Golden right now, because I didn't understand his usage last year.
- 53:34Speaker 4: It seems that they're going to try their best to
- 53:38Speaker 4: get him utilized.
- 53:40Speaker 2: In more of a traditional way.
- 53:41Speaker 4: It felt like they were trying to be a little
- 53:43Speaker 4: too gimmicky with him, like, oh, Jaden Reid's injured, let's
- 53:46Speaker 4: make him are Jayden Reid now.
- 53:47Speaker 2: And it's like it's like, yeah, you can do that,
- 53:50Speaker 2: but I don't. I don't think that's the best utilization
- 53:52Speaker 2: for him.
- 53:54Speaker 4: It's probably worse than the Bills, especially when you look
- 53:57Speaker 4: at it holistically, like they don't have a top end
- 54:00Speaker 4: guy that you're I guess some people would probably say
- 54:03Speaker 4: that they like Christian Watson more than DJ Moore.
- 54:06Speaker 2: I'm not one of those people.
- 54:08Speaker 1: I like the If you told me that Christian Watson
- 54:11Speaker 1: wouldn't get hurt.
- 54:12Speaker 4: Right, obviously, I would know, Yeah, this is all seventeen
- 54:15Speaker 4: game season projection type thing. I'm personally still not there,
- 54:19Speaker 4: but I understand someone being there. If you're there, I
- 54:22Speaker 4: get it. Like you said with the running back James
- 54:25Speaker 4: Cook top four, like, I wouldn't balk at you for
- 54:27Speaker 4: saying that I'm personally just not there with Christian Watson
- 54:31Speaker 4: over DJ Moore, and for that reason, I probably take
- 54:34Speaker 4: the Bills wide receiver room over this because the Bills
- 54:36Speaker 4: have more depth too.
- 54:38Speaker 1: Fair, would you do you have DJ Moore over So
- 54:42Speaker 1: you like DJ Moore more than Christian Watson? Would you rather?
- 54:45Speaker 1: But would you also still rather have DJ Moore in
- 54:47Speaker 1: the Bills offense than Christian Watson in the Bills offense.
- 54:50Speaker 4: M because of like the franchise timeline. I actually think
- 54:56Speaker 4: I would rather have oh really yeah, just because of
- 55:01Speaker 4: the franchise timeline. But like if I were to go
- 55:04Speaker 4: in a vacuum and just be like, all right, skill set, like, yeah,
- 55:07Speaker 4: we kind of.
- 55:07Speaker 2: Need Watson's skill set really bad.
- 55:10Speaker 1: Okay.
- 55:11Speaker 4: I just really love that three level attack from DJ Moore,
- 55:15Speaker 4: Like it's very enticing for me.
- 55:17Speaker 2: He's still young enough.
- 55:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:20Speaker 4: The other groups, the Browns was what I wanted to
- 55:23Speaker 4: talk about because they're so young right now.
- 55:25Speaker 2: Between Boston, there's still.
- 55:29Speaker 4: A little bit there on Cedric Tillman, whatever you want
- 55:32Speaker 4: to think of him, say with Jerry Judy, like that's
- 55:36Speaker 4: four deep that you're like, there's still potential in these
- 55:40Speaker 4: four deep guys.
- 55:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:43Speaker 4: I still had it lower than the Bills, but it's
- 55:46Speaker 4: entirely potential based and I wouldn't hate someone for saying, like, hey,
- 55:51Speaker 4: and you know, two years this Bill's wide receiver room
- 55:54Speaker 4: is going to be disbanded, and this Browns wide receiver
- 55:57Speaker 4: room is going to be legit because it's going to
- 55:58Speaker 4: be led by Boston concepts.
- 56:00Speaker 1: If those dudes hit, Yeah, even just if those dudes hit, like,
- 56:05Speaker 1: that's a yes, you're one. Two. You got a potential
- 56:08Speaker 1: true X who can also play as a power slot.
- 56:10Speaker 1: And then you have Concepcion who's sick and just can
- 56:12Speaker 1: do a whole bunch of really cool stuff. And then
- 56:14Speaker 1: you still have Cededa Tillman on a rookie contract. Judy,
- 56:18Speaker 1: you know, I mean, if Jerry Judy is somehow your
- 56:22Speaker 1: wide receiver three and it's not because he fell off
- 56:24Speaker 1: the face of the earth, that is a pretty cool
- 56:27Speaker 1: wide receiving room. But yeah, I was in. I looked
- 56:29Speaker 1: at that one too, and I was immediately like, okay, well, rookies,
- 56:33Speaker 1: we can't count this because it's projection. We don't really like, No, yeah,
- 56:37Speaker 1: that's very fair.
- 56:39Speaker 4: I'll give two more before we go too far of
- 56:41Speaker 4: a tangent on this, But okay, the next two are
- 56:44Speaker 4: Texans and Saints, both very top heavy. I think they're
- 56:49Speaker 4: I think they're worse than the Bills.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Oh, obviously I would take now. I think Nico Collins
- 56:55Speaker 1: is a top five receiver in the NFL.
- 56:57Speaker 2: I do too.
- 56:58Speaker 1: I also like Higgins and Hutchinson. Damn. I didn't realize
- 57:04Speaker 1: how much their whole and they have no their whole offense,
- 57:07Speaker 1: their whole receiving corpse like Iowa State.
- 57:09Speaker 4: There's three Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's the Tank
- 57:12Speaker 4: Dell comes back, if Tank Tel.
- 57:16Speaker 1: Comes if Tank Dell comes back.
- 57:17Speaker 4: This is a different conversation, But I'm operating as if
- 57:20Speaker 4: he's not because I haven't heard any news that's gonna
- 57:24Speaker 4: be playing again. Uh.
- 57:26Speaker 2: I'd love for him too. He's on my Dynasty team.
- 57:30Speaker 1: I would I would take. I would take the Texans
- 57:33Speaker 1: because I think Nico, you get a top five dude.
- 57:36Speaker 1: And then I think Hutchinson and Higgins and even know
- 57:40Speaker 1: are serviceable enough in tandem with Nico. Now, if Nico
- 57:45Speaker 1: goes down.
- 57:48Speaker 4: Again, this room is Yeah, I know it's an if,
- 57:51Speaker 4: but like that room gates scary quick.
- 57:53Speaker 1: Yeah, it does get scary quick because then you're looking
- 57:55Speaker 1: at everything. And he went down last year, so it's
- 57:57Speaker 1: not like out of the realm of possibility. I would
- 57:59Speaker 1: take the Texans ahead of the Bills, but that's Nico's
- 58:04Speaker 1: doing a lot of the heavy lifting there. I like
- 58:05Speaker 1: the Bills room in totality, but Nico pushes them over
- 58:10Speaker 1: the top. And then the Pens the dump yard for
- 58:12Speaker 1: and what was the other one? You said, the Texans and.
- 58:14Speaker 4: The Saints like that top heavy of Jordan Tyson and
- 58:17Speaker 4: Chris o'lave. Like, that's awesome, but I still would rather
- 58:21Speaker 4: have the Bills.
- 58:22Speaker 1: I agree, especially because I don't know what Tyson is
- 58:24Speaker 1: because he's a rookie, and then his history as well
- 58:27Speaker 1: on top of it. I had one fun but like
- 58:31Speaker 1: super fun. I had another one for you in division.
- 58:34Speaker 1: What about the Jets.
- 58:37Speaker 4: I wasn't there. I couldn't get there. Ady Mitchell needs
- 58:40Speaker 4: to show more. I feel like that's the that's kind
- 58:45Speaker 4: of the thing that would flip this if if we
- 58:47Speaker 4: saw more from ad Mitchell last year, like if I mean,
- 58:50Speaker 4: if he had competent quarterback play, I guess could have
- 58:52Speaker 4: been the actual evaluation bit. Yeah, I mean, there's that's
- 58:57Speaker 4: the things. He's a very poor, polarizing prospect. He's still
- 59:00Speaker 4: calling him a prospect two years in. I know, and
- 59:04Speaker 4: that's kind of a deal like that. That's the problem
- 59:06Speaker 4: right now is I'm still very intrigued by him, and
- 59:11Speaker 4: this wide receiver room is fun. But what we're looking
- 59:15Speaker 4: at three deep plus if you want to make an
- 59:17Speaker 4: argument for Tim Patrick at forty and that's now you're
- 59:21Speaker 4: extending a conversation between Ady Mitchell and Tim Patrick. And
- 59:25Speaker 4: I feel like that's too much of an exception.
- 59:27Speaker 1: That's fair, that's very fair. I just that room. I
- 59:30Speaker 1: still love Garrett Wilson, oh my god.
- 59:33Speaker 2: And Omar Cooper like that's so he.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Heads could be cool. Yeah, but no, I think I
- 59:37Speaker 1: would take the bills room. I just think Garrett Wilson's sick.
- 59:39Speaker 1: I just wondered for argument's sake, I was like, yeah,
- 59:42Speaker 1: that My biggest takeaway from doing this exercise was really
- 59:46Speaker 1: like I didn't realize top Yeah, honestly like a team
- 59:53Speaker 1: And multiple people mentioned it in the chat with Wattle.
- 59:57Speaker 1: Now I don't like Troy Franklin really and I but
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: still Courland Sutton, Jalen Wattle, Troy Franklin, Marvin Mimms Junior,
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Pat Bryant, and then even like wide receiver six and
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I'm not even saying this is a joke. Like Wide
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: receiver six is little Jordan Humphrey, who's like done stuff
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: in the NFL. Like the Denver wide receiver room doesn't
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: necessarily have like a star that you're like, wow, Jamar Chase, wow,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: justin Jefferson the Broncos receiver room like top to bottom. Yes,
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: he has depth, but they also got like dudes at
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: the top as well. Like that Denver wide receiver room
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: was one that I looked at and I was like,
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: oh oh, And I was like yeah, I didn't realize
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: like as much until I really like looked at it
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: on paper and then made notes. I was like, oh, sheesh,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: this is a room.
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's a deep one that that's a really
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: good wide receiver room. I I kind of wish they
- 1:00:53Speaker 4: made a little bit more room. I hope Pat Bryant
- 1:00:56Speaker 4: gets more playing time this year, is really all I
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: want to say.
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm glad he was and uh, that was so
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: scary when he went down. Man, it was like it's yeah,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: and he was essentially fine, I mean relatively speaking, like
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: who's you guys, Bill.
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: I think they'll I think they'll get him into the
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: big slot.
- 1:01:14Speaker 4: I feel like the Troy Franklin in the slot on
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Our Lads is kind of just because of his production
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: last year.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: I just I just think Troy fan is a dude.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: You have to like, he's just you have to scheme him,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: like and I don't think that's sustainable, and so you
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: could scheme Pat Bryan, but I also think Pat Bryan
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: can do more stuff that can like you can win
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: with Pap, Like Pat Brian can go win some stuff
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: for you instead of you having to win for him. Yeah,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: that's fair. Anything else on Wide Receiver. So they officially
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: landed for you at what sixteen?
- 1:01:41Speaker 2: Yeah, top sixteen I think is very fair.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: I'm in that mid similar aspect. Oh well one that
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: you mentioned and then we got off track the Falcons
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: you mentioned.
- 1:01:53Speaker 4: Yeah, it's just another top heavy group. It's it's crazy
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: like we both like John Dotson, but it's wild.
- 1:01:59Speaker 2: Out this this room falls off.
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Like I don't think they need they need to do something.
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: Oh yeah, Like I was just gonna say, I don't
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: think much of a Lamada's Sakias And I think you're
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: kind of just hoping that Zachariah branch usurps.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: Him at some point this year.
- 1:02:19Speaker 4: We'll see I think it's very realistic that Johan Dotson
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: can do everything that Darnell Mooney did for them in
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: the last two years. I don't think that's outside of
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: the realm of possibility. It's a very similar skill set.
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: But it still just feels a little too top heavy.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: And I guess maybe if you want to just throw
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: Kyle Pitts into the wide receiver room just for the
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: sake of the conversation.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: I mean, if we do that, we use then we
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: have to throw Dalton into the wide receivers I know, right,
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: and then when when does it end? Like then we
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: have to do it?
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: Doesn't It makes it so muddy, but like you know,
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: that's exactly how the Falcons use. So it's like, well post, uh,
- 1:02:54Speaker 4: what's his face?
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Posts? Arthur Smith.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I wish better for Drake London. I just.
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: I I hope, I hope Pennix works out for for
- 1:03:07Speaker 4: Drake London's sake. Yeah, we were both Drake London apologists. Dude.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: We got so much flack because everybody was like, he's
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: not gonna be able to separate running.
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: You can't be over six foot two as a wide
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: receiver prospect.
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: It's a kiss of death.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just.
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: Like, unless you're running a four to four, it's it's
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: a kiss of death.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: When Minnesota you had over the Bills.
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: Don't know if I clicked on this one.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: Jefferson, justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison, Joan.
- 1:03:45Speaker 4: For me, that's three deep and those three are pretty
- 1:03:48Speaker 4: freaking good.
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: Last one I wanted to ask for you the Buccaneers
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: a Mecca Buka. Yeah, I had them above, yes, Okay, okay, cool,
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: I didn't have I want to actually want to grab
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: this one cause multiple people in the chat mentioned the Cardinals.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: I really like Michael Wilson a ton, and I think
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: the Kendrick Bourne edition is interesting.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: I can't with the rest of it, though.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: You Marvin Harrison is just such a wild card still,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: which is still mild, and then everybody else after is.
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: Very literally just filling the roster.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: Yes, but if Marvin Harrison can be some semblance of
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: the Prince that was promised that, that's a really good
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: top three. If you have Harrison and Wilson and then
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: your slot gadget guy is Kendrick Bourne, yeah, becomes kind
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: of really interesting. And that's on top of again we're
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: not doing tight ends. Yeah, but yeah, just as the room.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: If Marvison Harrison is the prince that was promised, that
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: becomes a thing.
- 1:04:48Speaker 4: It is a good caveat though, Like looking at this
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: whole wide receiver room, you kind of realize, like they
- 1:04:53Speaker 4: allocated a lot to Trey McBride, so it kind of
- 1:04:56Speaker 4: makes sense why they're thin on the back end there.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that's understandable and that I mean, and they've invested
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: in They've gone like a lot of running backs. Yeah, well,
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: the Cardinals were doing like twelve and thirteen personnel before
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: it was.
- 1:05:08Speaker 2: They're gonna have to run like forty one personnel.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: This dude, do it. Who's stopping that? Seriously, who's stopping that?
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: Just bload it up goal on wing Tea, No stuff,
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: that's it. Wing Tea baby, mash the hell out of them.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: They got no quarterback.
- 1:05:22Speaker 4: They're gonna take Marvin off the field because of how
- 1:05:25Speaker 4: many running backs they have.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: Hey, man, the run is the run is king. The
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: run stirs the drink. I don't care. Tell Marvin to
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: add ten pounds or fifteen and learn how to block.
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: Yeah, and then for the next four years.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: There you go. Any other thoughts on wide receiver, No, no,
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: we covered it. It's a good conversation tight End another
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: one that is the same tight End room as before.
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: Any any thoughts on that before we get to the
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: bonus question.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: The main thought I had on that is that it's
- 1:06:05Speaker 4: a very similar conversation of running back, not just because
- 1:06:08Speaker 4: the roster is the same, but because it's very dependent
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: on player development, and most notably for Kinkaid, it's really
- 1:06:16Speaker 4: about health, right. But I guess when you're talking about development,
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: you could be talking about Hawes, And I think there
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: really is a lot of variability about Sure, it's the
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: same four guys if you're also including late two, But
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: I mean, if we see a healthy season from Kinkaid,
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: it's probably gonna lean twenty twenty six.
- 1:06:38Speaker 2: If we see even.
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: A little bit of improvement from Hawes and we have
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: a half season from Kinkaid, it's still probably gonna be
- 1:06:45Speaker 4: twenty twenty six. So I think it's probably gonna end
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: up being twenty twenty six. When it's all said and done,
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: it's probably gonna be the better room, even though it's
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: the same names.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, I expect to jump from Hawes in
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: some shape or form. I don't think, don't Kaid's gonna
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: stay completely healthy, but I expect him to be healthier,
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: and so I will take twenty twenty six. But again
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: I just said washed. It's it's the same thing. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: bonus question fun stuff here for tight end. If Dalton
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Kinkaid is healthy, he's a top blank tight end in
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: the NFL. It's also gonna be a trick question because
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: you could say he's more of a wide receiver. But
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: what are your thoughts here? If Dalton can Kaid is healthy,
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: he's a top blank tight end in the NFL.
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: So I said top ten, And I think I was
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: less generous on this because obviously there's less of sample size,
- 1:07:45Speaker 4: like James Cook has proven over the last two years. Yes,
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: but my non negotiables here are McBride, Bowers, Kittle, Tucker
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: Craft and Samuel Porta same.
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: Tyler Warren.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: It's kind of close.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: I also, where's my.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: I think I'm gonna put Tylan Warren in there?
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:08:06Speaker 4: Okay, So one, two, three, four, five, six are locked
- 1:08:10Speaker 4: into my top ten, so that leaves four spots to
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: be negotiated. I think if we get a full season
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: from him, it's pretty realistic to throw him in there
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: with the likes of.
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: It depends what you think about Colson Loveland.
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: That was that was my big question for you, Like,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: if you had to pick right now, you can pick
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: one tight end for your team, Colston Lovelin or Dalonkin. Kid,
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: who are you taking right now?
- 1:08:32Speaker 4: Probably Loveland just saying because of right like the in
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: line saw yeah exactly, Like there's just a more complete
- 1:08:39Speaker 4: skill set. We saw more of a full year from him.
- 1:08:43Speaker 4: I mean he was also kind of onboarding as a rookie,
- 1:08:46Speaker 4: but like yep, but still like we saw it. Think
- 1:08:51Speaker 4: you can make an argument for Kyle Pitts, Think you
- 1:08:53Speaker 4: can make an argument for Jake Ferguson. Other than that, though,
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: like it's really up for grabs, Like Travis Kelcey is
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: obviously gonna deserve to be in the conversation, but we
- 1:09:02Speaker 4: know he's fading.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: Harold Fannon.
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: Not there yet.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: He's he's an interesting one where his skill set is
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: just so unique for the position, where he's just got
- 1:09:17Speaker 4: that like kind of half back, Like.
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: He's almost like a like a soup Tyler Warren has
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: already souped up. He's almost kind of like a souped
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: up different version of Tyler Warren. It's almost like there's
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: shades of one another, but Warren has more like gadget
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: tree and schematic usage.
- 1:09:34Speaker 2: I see him more as oconquo.
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: Oh, like a souped up o'conquo. Yeah.
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: I don't know why, but I see him more like
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: that either way, Like Fannin has all the potential in
- 1:09:45Speaker 4: the world. And I'm probably slighting him by not saying
- 1:09:48Speaker 4: he's in the conversation because I mean he is. He
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: produced with bad quarterback play last year. But yeah, I
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: think King Kate if he plays a full season, Like
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: we've all seen the skill set.
- 1:09:59Speaker 2: Yes, we know when he's.
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: Healthy as a receiver, he is smooth, he's fluid. He
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: is just different, Like he really looks natural as a
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: pass catcher, and he looks natural as a ball carrier
- 1:10:13Speaker 4: as well. And I think, yeah, we just need to
- 1:10:17Speaker 4: see those seventeen games. And I don't even know if
- 1:10:19Speaker 4: we're gonna get it, but honestly, I think if we
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: get fourteen games from him this year, I think it's
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: pretty realistic that he's looked at as a top ten
- 1:10:27Speaker 4: tight end.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: I do think he's top ten for me. The biggest
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: health is obviously a huge piece the bigger thing for me,
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: And I've said it a bunch just because you can't
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: really line him up in line, like he's limited for
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: what you can do with him. And I meant to
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: I had sent you this tweet before, and I think
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: I even read it on the show previously. But even
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: the idea of like him being on the field is
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: kind of like a tell which also limits. Yeah. Out
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: of one hundred and six tight ends in twenty twenty
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: six with at least one hundred snaps Kinkaid, this is
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: where he ranked in positional alignment rate and usage. He
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: was in line thirty two point six percent of the time,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: which is one hundred and first out of the one
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: of six tight ends. He was in the slot forty
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: three point five percent of the time, which is the
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: ninth most. And then he was lined up out wide
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: or split out twenty three point four percent of the time,
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: which is third most, so he really wasn't in line
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: at all. And then in general, the Bills ran the
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: ball towards Kinkaid's side wherever he was aligned thirty point
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: two percent of the time, which is one hundred and
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: fourth out of one hundred and six tight ends. And
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: then when lined up in line, the Bills ran towards
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: Kinkaid at a rate of twenty six point eight percent,
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: which is ninety first out of ninety two tight ends
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: with at least one hundred in line snaps. Like if
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: he somehow is in line, you know, Duo ain't coming,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: like they're going midzone week Like it's going the opposite side.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: And I'm just using that as one example. Like the
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: inline capability or lack thereof for me is so limiting,
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: and it's so hard for me to parse what he
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: is and where to put him because he is a
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: mismatch creator. He's a very fluid route runner. He has
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: a great feel for space, he understands coverage, he has
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: good hands, he's fluid, he's technical, he's athletic, and he's
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: We'll see what happens with DJ Moore, but he's really
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: the only guy that Alan throws to with anticipation because
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: he trusts he's gonna be where he needs him to
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: be there.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: I have never thought about that, but's so true.
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: Right, Like you watch him, like he'll throw up before
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: Kincaid clears the backer because he trusts he's gonna be
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: in that window, be in this spot.
- 1:12:45Speaker 2: And that was there very early on, like even.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: There's you know, JSN has ascended tremendously, but there was
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: legit talk in that draft class of like who is
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: the better pass catcher to cater JSN? And Uh, I
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: value Cinkate a lot as a pass catcher. It's just
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: if I'm looking at a tight end in totality and
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: you can't function in line and you are a tel,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: then essentially you're more of a wide receiver. But you
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: still can be impactful as a tight end because you
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: can still do some things that a wide receiver can't.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: And the conversation builds and goes and builds and goes,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: but you can't put him in line, and the Bills
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: don't put him in line, and the Bills don't even
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: run towards him. So for me, there's mitigation. There's usage
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: mitigation for him in abundance, and that's not even considering
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: the health piece. I do think he is top ten though,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: Like if I'm just going right down the board, I
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: am taking Uh, I'm just gonna pull I have our
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: lads pulled up. I am taking Kittle, I'm taking Trey McBride,
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: I am taking Kate No I'm just kidding. I'm taking
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: George Kittle. I'm taking Trey McBride, I'm taking Tucker Craft,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: I'm taking Sam Porta, I'm taking Colston Loveland. I'm taking
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: brock Bauers. Tyler Warren is a really I probably.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: I think I'm taking Warren.
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: I'd probably take Warren. I also think i'd take Harold
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: fannin I'm late to the party though I didn't really
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: watch any Browns offense last year, and then I've watched it.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: I watched it in like Spurts this offseason, and I
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: was like, like, I knew Harold Fantom was sick, but
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: I was like, oh, yeah, so I might this might
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: be recentcy bias of like the last person I interviewed
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: was great, and I'm like, he's the best candidate, and
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: then it's like, well, the first four guys you interviewed
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: are also great. You're forgetting so yeah, I think he's
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: top ten. He's close there. And see that's a fair
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: point from Charles says like, that's why they got to
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: lean into thirteen personnel and split Kinkaid out wide. It's
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: either a smaller corner or a linebacker in space. Agreed,
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: but that's still a thing where like either the verbiage
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: of like that's why you gotta do this, that's why,
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: like you have to be very per this full with
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: him to use him. And that is on the one hand,
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: good because it's like, well he's got the skill set
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: you want to lean into it. But it's also bad
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: because you almost have to operate in that way. But
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: I do agree with this, Charles you you know me,
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: I've seen I've said it on the show a ton
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: of times. Go thirteen and have Kinkaid and Hawes attached
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: to the formation and split dog Kinkade out wide and say,
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: what are you going to do? Are you gonna match
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: him with a safety, a linebacker, a corner. We can
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: win that matchup in kind of whatever speede you want.
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: On rg's comment here, if Kinkaid can find a way
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: to be healthy, wouldn't that also mean he could become
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: a better blocker. I'm sure having two awful legs doesn't
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: help blocking fair, but kinkaid struggles with blocking are more
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: so due to technique and his frame and build overall,
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: the same thing that works for his frame that allows
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: him to be this fluid, technical mover and athlete and
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: smooth and all this stuff. All of those things work
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: against him as a blocker. He doesn't have this body density,
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: he doesn't have this compact frame that allows him to
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: attach and drive and push. He doesn't have this core
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: function strength that allows him to be a people mover
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: or a masher. He's longer, he's leaner, those same things
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: again that allow for fluid technicality and movement, and the
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: way he gets in and out of his brakes and
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: his cuts and his releases. That works against him as
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: a blocker. As I say all the time, he's not soft.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: He doesn't avoid contact, he doesn't not want to block.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: It's just harder for him because of his size and frame.
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: And then you add on top of that technique struggles
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: like his technique has to be perfect, and it's hard
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: to be perfect in the NFL in that regard. But
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: he's a willing blocker. He'll mash the hell out of
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: a dB on the perimeter, a wide receiver screen, or
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: a toss like he can go. He's not afraid of contact.
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: Maybe adding on the ten to twelve pounds of muscle
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: or whatever he did this offseason helps him a little bit.
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: Changes his frame or body comp a little bit, but
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: it the health that definitely plays into it. But it's
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: more so his size and frame and technique than it is, well,
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: this dude's playing injured. I think.
- 1:17:08Speaker 4: I think one of the more interesting things about the
- 1:17:10Speaker 4: health conversation is the perspective of that on usage. I
- 1:17:15Speaker 4: wonder how much they, you know, put him in bubble
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: wrap because he is injured, and they're like, all right,
- 1:17:21Speaker 4: we're just not going to run to your side because
- 1:17:23Speaker 4: you're injured, or we're not going to put you on
- 1:17:26Speaker 4: the field when we're running it because you're injured. You're
- 1:17:29Speaker 4: only going to be on the field because you're good
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: at catching the football, so you'll be on during passing downs.
- 1:17:35Speaker 4: So it really muddies the evaluation as a blocker. But
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: I also agree with the things you said just now
- 1:17:43Speaker 4: about the things that work against him inherently as a blocker,
- 1:17:48Speaker 4: and it's what makes him so good as a pass catcher.
- 1:17:50Speaker 4: So I think it's tough because a lot of the
- 1:17:54Speaker 4: things you're probably drawing from from a blocking evaluation perspective
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: or things from his first two seasons in the NFL,
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: and we really only saw one moderately healthy season from him.
- 1:18:07Speaker 4: His rookie season, right, and in theory he's developed more
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: as a blocker since then, but he the usage of
- 1:18:16Speaker 4: him as a blocker could have been put on bubble wrap.
- 1:18:19Speaker 4: So it's just it's difficult to have that conversation really
- 1:18:23Speaker 4: give a proper evaluation of it. And ultimately the people
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: in the building are going to be the people who
- 1:18:28Speaker 4: know and we will be the people who find out.
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: That's a reallyod way to put it. Yeah, I do
- 1:18:34Speaker 1: think the injuries and play a role in some semblance
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: for his effectiveness and for you know, running towards him
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: in that I just do have a sneaking suspicion that
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: even if he was one hundred percent healthy, they're still
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: not going to really line him up in line and
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: they're still really not going to run towards him too much,
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: just because that's I just don't think he has the
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: skill set. But you can run towards Hawes, run towards
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: Hawes right, for sure.
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: But they're meaning that way regardless.
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: But there is I think tied into that the the
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: same way you're not doing the pass catching stuff and
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: alignments with Hawes like you do Kincaid. You can't do
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: the run blocking alignments that you do with Knocks or
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: Hawes with Kinkaid. And it granted it's because well why
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: would you you have Hawes and Knocks, so you don't
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: need to do that with Kinkaid. But I also think
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: even if they didn't have those two guys, you still
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: wouldn't want to do that. Like, I don't see a
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: world where Dalton Kincaid is a tight end that you
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: attached the formation and you're running duo to his side.
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: They they would rather, and I would rather. I'd rather
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: go eleven with Shakir and Shavers and run duo to
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: Shakir and Shavers. Then I would go twelve with with
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: Kinkaid and have him be attached to the formation and
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: run duo to his side. And I think the Bills
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: will lean that as well. But who knows anything else
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: on tight end?
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: No, it's a all I got on tight end?
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: Okay, offensive line. I think this one is largely cut
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: and dry. We do have a bonus, but I'm assuming
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: the answer is twenty twenty five.
- 1:20:11Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, twenty twenty five for sure.
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: Yeahkay. Bonus question. How worried are you about the left
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: guard spots? You know, if you had to put a
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: worry level on it. David Edwards got paid in New Orleans.
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: Good for him, he deserved it. He you know, several
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: small contracts, I mean, if you think two and three
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: million dollars is small, took those with the bills, went
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: and got paid like fifteen million bucks a year to
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: go to the Saints. Good for him, man, now, yeah,
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: absolutely good for him. Good dude, really smart, good blocker
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: chromer disciple came in sixth offensive lineman, then became the
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: starting left guard. Phenomenal, and now he goes to Saints,
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: he gets paid, He's gone. Ryan Vandermark also gone. But
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: now you're looking at that left guard spot and kind
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: of this worry level for it. You bring a in
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: Austin Corbett. You've got where am I freaking A Ganderson?
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: Oh my god? I was like, what is happening to
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: me right now? Because I'm going off my notes. So
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: largely you've got al Ganerson, Austin Corbett, outside chance. Maybe
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: they took Jude Bowery because they want him to play
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: guard and maybe he functions or factors into that left
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: guard battle a little bit. But worry level scaleing one
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: to ten, however you classified it. You know your worry
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: level for the left guard spot as we approach this season.
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: I feel like if I have to put it like
- 1:21:34Speaker 4: one through ten, I probably would put it around a
- 1:21:37Speaker 4: four or five, Like I'm not overly worried. I am
- 1:21:41Speaker 4: expecting like an onboarding process, Like I'm expecting it really
- 1:21:46Speaker 4: not to feel comfortable until call it week six ish, Yeah,
- 1:21:53Speaker 4: like there's gonna be a learning process. I think the
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: thing that worries me the most is that I don't
- 1:21:58Speaker 4: feel overly confident in a single one of the potential
- 1:22:01Speaker 4: candidates to film right, Like I don't feel overly confident
- 1:22:05Speaker 4: in Anderson, I don't feel overly confident in Corbett, but
- 1:22:08Speaker 4: like I feel confident that there will be an answer,
- 1:22:12Speaker 4: like a sufficient enough answer between Anderson, Corbett, Cushion, Barry Read,
- 1:22:18Speaker 4: Adams Bowery, Like I think one of them will prove
- 1:22:21Speaker 4: themselves to be sufficient. The thing that worries me, and
- 1:22:26Speaker 4: why I would say I'm probably at a round to
- 1:22:28Speaker 4: five out of ten, is because how many times are
- 1:22:32Speaker 4: we going to have to try a guy to figure
- 1:22:34Speaker 4: out who the sufficient guy is? Like how long is
- 1:22:37Speaker 4: it going to take? And what is the impact that
- 1:22:40Speaker 4: that has on shuffling the offensive line week after week
- 1:22:45Speaker 4: through game planning, like shuffling through reps, all of that
- 1:22:49Speaker 4: kind of stuff. And like you think of the platooning
- 1:22:52Speaker 4: stuff on defense through the years that we did at cornerback,
- 1:22:56Speaker 4: and it's just so much more impactful when it comes
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: to offensive line than There's always the conversations of, oh,
- 1:23:02Speaker 4: that left guard is so important for Dion because he's
- 1:23:04Speaker 4: on an island and he doesn't know what the hell's
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: going on, and it's like, however true that is or isn't,
- 1:23:10Speaker 4: Like the reality is is it's a very symbiotic position group,
- 1:23:15Speaker 4: like they all need to work together. And I don't
- 1:23:18Speaker 4: love the idea that we might not find the answer
- 1:23:22Speaker 4: with the first attempt, because it does feel like trial
- 1:23:25Speaker 4: and error to an extent to figure out who that
- 1:23:29Speaker 4: left guard is. I do like my confidence level that
- 1:23:33Speaker 4: there is an answer on the roster right now. I
- 1:23:36Speaker 4: just don't like that we have to try trial and error.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: I think it's very well said. I'm so ten, how
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: did you? How did you do it?
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: Like one one is less worried, ten is most worried.
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: Okay, that's why I figure, yeah, ten is like, oh
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: my god, everything's on fire. What are we going to do,
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: and one is like, I don't have to worry about anything
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: at all. Yeah, I'm I'm at about a six and
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: a half. I think David Edwards and his technical ability
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: and his technique was very underrated and largely undervalued in
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: terms of what he did. He didn't have a lot
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: of splash plays or stuff that showed up, but he
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: was a really functional piece. And I know that's not
- 1:24:16Speaker 1: sexy and that's not amazing. He did a lot for
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: the offensive line after the snap, in addition to all
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: the stuff pre snap with you know, communicating to Dion
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: and you know, being a crossing guard out there and
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: crossing God crossing guard out there in an air traffic
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: controller in terms of direct giving direction and communicating him
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: and the government were very important for that. We just
- 1:24:40Speaker 1: haven't seen it from Alec Anderson. I think Corbett is
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: fine enough if you if you made me choose right now,
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: I'd pick Austin Corbett just because I NFL sample size
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: the floor is fine, Like, I think it's high enough.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: There isn't really much of a ceiling. But he's an
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: NFL starting caliber offensive lineman. And if Austin Corbett is
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: your five, is your weak point. I think you're fine, right,
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: But as people have said in the chat, the compounding
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: factor with Dion I think is worrisome because if it's
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: just the left guard and it's like, Okay, Austin Korbett's
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: gonna be your guy, I think you're fine. But if
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: you're losing Edwards and Dion Dawkins also takes a step back,
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: that's a little scary for me. And so that's what
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: pushes me towards towards more like a six six and
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: a half. But I think they'll still figure out an answer.
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: I think things will largely be okay. I am a
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: little worried on overall, like if Spencer Brown his injury
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: history shows up again like it did last year, like
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: that's what has limited him so much throughout his career.
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: But if you're focusing just on left guard, yeah, I'm
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: in about it. I would say six and a half
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: because I think there is a chance that Dawkins's place
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: slips a little bit because Edwards isn't there, and that
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: scares me, and that worries because then it's you're you're
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: not creating, it's not you're not feeling one spot. You're
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: kind of feeling like one in a quarter one and
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: a half maybe depending on how you're looking at.
- 1:26:11Speaker 4: Or how much he may potentially depend on his splits. Yes, yeah,
- 1:26:16Speaker 4: tight split and more just like one.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but if he's on an island, I'm like, oh
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: one and a half, are we looking at a three?
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: Baby?
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: We're double bit? Yeah? Like, if he wants to play
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: in that way, that puts more stress on the left guard.
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: Can Corbin fil fit that way? Ken Dawkins even play
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: that way now because he doesn't have David Edwards next
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: to him. There's just a lot of questions to your
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: point that I think need to be answered that you
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: have to play the trial and error game with I
- 1:26:41Speaker 1: would rather not do that anywhere, but especially offensive line,
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: but this is this is where we are.
- 1:26:49Speaker 4: I will say, if there is a spot on the
- 1:26:51Speaker 4: offensive line I want to do it, it is guard.
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: Like that makes me feel a little bit better about this. Like,
- 1:26:57Speaker 4: if there's a most replaceable position on the offensive line,
- 1:27:01Speaker 4: in my opinion, it is guard. But it's still less
- 1:27:06Speaker 4: than ideal. I am somewhat hopeful, like considering the way
- 1:27:11Speaker 4: Dawkins played last year in terms of comparing like twenty
- 1:27:16Speaker 4: twenty five to twenty twenty six roster. Like, I don't
- 1:27:19Speaker 4: think it's gonna get worse. I think Dion has put
- 1:27:21Speaker 4: a lot of time and effort into retooling, reshaping, recomping
- 1:27:25Speaker 4: his body and trying to get back to you know,
- 1:27:28Speaker 4: his peak physical fitness and trying to get back to
- 1:27:31Speaker 4: his top form. And I think he's really taking it
- 1:27:33Speaker 4: seriously this offseason. So I do think he understands the
- 1:27:38Speaker 4: challenge this year. He understands where he took a dip
- 1:27:42Speaker 4: last year, and he understands the challenge of, you know,
- 1:27:44Speaker 4: losing his left guard. So I do think there there
- 1:27:49Speaker 4: is a bit of a accountability factor that I think
- 1:27:52Speaker 4: we're going to get a bit of a bounce back
- 1:27:54Speaker 4: from Dion this year. But yeah, of course there is
- 1:27:56Speaker 4: going to be some impact from losing that left guard.
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: I think that's well said. I think that's what I said.
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: Any other thoughts on offensive line before we move on
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: to edge.
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: Now, let's get to defense.
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: Let's do it. Defense. I think is gonna be interesting conversations.
- 1:28:10Speaker 1: We're gonna start outside in We're going to look at
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: the edge grouping right now. Again, a bit of a
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: different feel for what an edge is this year, versus
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: last year because of the defense change, but essentially last year.
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: We're looking at an edge grouping of going down the board,
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: not in any particular order, Javon Solomon, Morgan Fox, Matt Judon,
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: Michael Hoyt, Joey Bosa, Andre Jones, aj Apanessa, Landon Jackson,
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: and Gregory rue So. Now as we stand here today,
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: we are looking essentially at an edge grouping of Greg Russoe,
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: Bradley Chubb, TJ. Parker, Michael Hoyt, Mike Dana, Javon Solomon,
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: I guess still in theory, Andre Jones Junior versus twenty
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: twenty six, who gets the edge of unintended m Is
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: it twenty twenty six or is twenty twenty five better?
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: I give the edge to twenty twenty six.
- 1:29:15Speaker 4: Interesting, Okay, Yeah, I think I kind of boiled it
- 1:29:20Speaker 4: down to top three to make it easier on myself,
- 1:29:22Speaker 4: just to make a decision on like the impact players. Okay,
- 1:29:26Speaker 4: And when you're comparing it, it's Rousseau to Russo, Bosa
- 1:29:30Speaker 4: to Chubb, and then Epinessa to Parker. I think Bosa
- 1:29:35Speaker 4: to Chubb is obviously it's pretty tight. You're looking at
- 1:29:39Speaker 4: like the one year mercenary versus a one year mercenary
- 1:29:41Speaker 4: side to three years.
- 1:29:44Speaker 1: Chubb is a better run defender, Bosa the better pass rusher.
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: But I think based on you know, all the comments
- 1:29:51Speaker 4: from Brandon Bean this offseason, it just feels like such
- 1:29:55Speaker 4: a a priority to make sure these edge rushers we're
- 1:30:00Speaker 4: getting our three down players, and I think that is
- 1:30:02Speaker 4: a bit of a I don't want to call it
- 1:30:04Speaker 4: an over correction, but I think it's a correction for
- 1:30:06Speaker 4: the way that Bosa was playing down the stretch. Right Like,
- 1:30:09Speaker 4: Bosa was sack hunting down the stretch, and I think
- 1:30:11Speaker 4: he was getting frustrated that he couldn't quite land home
- 1:30:14Speaker 4: as he did early in the season due to the injuries. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:30:19Speaker 4: And I think it was frustrating and he was getting impatient,
- 1:30:23Speaker 4: but he was selling out for the sack, and I
- 1:30:25Speaker 4: think there was a correction made.
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: And I think Chubb does kind of.
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: Strike that well rounded edge rusher where you're gonna get
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: a lot of different hats from him. Might not get
- 1:30:36Speaker 4: any superpowers anywhere like we saw coming out of college,
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: but he's still going to be a very serviceable player,
- 1:30:43Speaker 4: and if he stays healthy, I think we're going to
- 1:30:45Speaker 4: get largely the same type of impact we got from Bosa,
- 1:30:48Speaker 4: maybe a little bit better because you're getting a more
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: well rounded impact. And then Parker, I just think there's
- 1:30:54Speaker 4: a higher upside from him to Epanessa. I think that's
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: very simple and plain.
- 1:31:00Speaker 1: Even though he as a rookie and though he's unproven
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: and we don't have any NFL sample size for him.
- 1:31:05Speaker 4: I really liked his tape more than I thought I would.
- 1:31:08Speaker 4: The three down once again, like the three down appeal
- 1:31:11Speaker 4: to him was very interesting to me. He feels like
- 1:31:15Speaker 4: someone who can really understand like setting the edge, playing
- 1:31:18Speaker 4: with physicality, good hand usage. I didn't think he was
- 1:31:21Speaker 4: like overly flexible, but he was flexible enough if he
- 1:31:25Speaker 4: had to be. But like there's enough technicality and physicality
- 1:31:31Speaker 4: in his game where I'm not really concerned about him
- 1:31:33Speaker 4: hitting the ground running, especially as a depth player, Like
- 1:31:36Speaker 4: he's not intended to be a starter, so I'm not
- 1:31:38Speaker 4: concerned there. You think about the impact we felt from
- 1:31:41Speaker 4: Epinesa last year, I think he can do that this year,
- 1:31:44Speaker 4: and of course there's more potential to grow as the
- 1:31:46Speaker 4: year progresses. And then the kicker is Solomon, because I
- 1:31:50Speaker 4: actually think Solomon gets an upgrade in this scheme, like
- 1:31:53Speaker 4: we get to actually see him potentially bend around the
- 1:31:57Speaker 4: outside shoulder and do some of the things that we
- 1:32:00Speaker 4: saw him do at Troy. I mean, obviously he does
- 1:32:02Speaker 4: it in an unorthodox way because of his his archetype
- 1:32:06Speaker 4: in his size, but at the end of the day,
- 1:32:09Speaker 4: it's it's more of a natural scheme fit, and I
- 1:32:11Speaker 4: think that does upgrade someone who was on the twenty
- 1:32:14Speaker 4: twenty five roster and the twenty twenty six roster. So
- 1:32:17Speaker 4: uh yeah, for me, it's a slight upgrade, but I
- 1:32:20Speaker 4: do think i'd give the edge to the twenty twenty
- 1:32:22Speaker 4: six edges.
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: I'm gonna talk out of both sides my mouth here.
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: I if I'm saying, if we're going off a projection
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: right of what we think guys can be, Yeah, that
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: I would say twenty twenty six because I do, like TJ.
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: Parker in the room, I do think Solomon gets a
- 1:32:46Speaker 1: schematic bump or you know, a player Yeah, I'm trying
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: to think a buff or a boost like from.
- 1:32:52Speaker 2: Uh we get an update patch on a video game.
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: We Yeah, I think of something like that, or like
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: the Anti ner. Yeah, I'm playing a bunch of ghost
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: of YOA tell you somethinking like you like you added
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: like a major minor charm slot form because it's like, oh,
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: like when playing in a three four is an outside
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: linebacker like plus two speed off the edge of plus
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: plus two ghost move that's it. Oh my god, that's
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: even better plus two ghosts move, yeah, plus two to
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: your melee And I'm like, yeah, I want that. So
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: I think there was potential for it to be better
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: if and again tying in Jim Leonard and the scheme
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: and structure. So if we're adding that and talking that, yes,
- 1:33:28Speaker 1: I think twenty twenty six on paper, I'm gonna say
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: twenty twenty five one because Parker is unproven. We don't know.
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: Two Again, Solomon, it's the projection piece. Hoyt, I think
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: is a big beat, right, Hoyt. I think is like
- 1:33:49Speaker 1: when you were saying the Kicker, I was like, oh,
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: you're gonna say Hoyt, and you said, Solomon Hoyt is
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: one for me, because if Michael Hoyt is healthy, you
- 1:33:57Speaker 1: need eight quarters from Michael Hoyt, right, and you're gonna
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: more than.
- 1:34:00Speaker 2: You got from it.
- 1:34:01Speaker 1: If Michael Hoyt was healthy this year and didn't have
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: that injury. I think he gets the biggest bump and
- 1:34:07Speaker 1: boost of anybody on the Bills defense from Jim Leonard
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: now being the defensive coordinator. I think Cole Bishop. Cole
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: Bishop is in the conversation. I think it's Michael Hoyt
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: this defense. Hoyt fits this defense, and this defense fits Hoyt.
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: I was so excited for them to get Hoyt because
- 1:34:24Speaker 1: I thought last year, because I thought that meant, yeah.
- 1:34:26Speaker 2: We were gonna do more of what Yah sinkins, Yeah.
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: Stuff, more movement, more games, all these things. Yeah, and
- 1:34:32Speaker 1: now it's like, well, that's already the defense, so this
- 1:34:36Speaker 1: fits even better. But is he gonna play a week one? Maybe?
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: If he does what semblance of himself? Is he coming
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: back from a torn achilles You're usually not yourself until
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: the second year removed, So I don't expect to see
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: twenty twenty five Michael Hoyt until maybe the end of
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: twenty twenty six, but more likely twenty twenty seven. So
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: twenty twenty six is up in the air out and
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: then Chubb. I think Chubb is the better run defender,
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: however you graded overall, he's a better three down player.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: As well, But however you grade that overall versus Bosa
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: as a rusher and what Bosa was early on before
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: Bosa hurt his hand. In that same Chiefs game where
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: Hoyts Achilles Joey Bosa yea by pressure rate, win rate,
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: total pressures, sacks, he was largely top ten across the
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: board from he's still unsigned, yes it is. I think
- 1:35:36Speaker 1: he's waiting for kind of somebody to bite the bullet
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: and pay him what he wants, or he's doing the
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: whole like I don't want to go the old school
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: think of, like I don't want to go to training camp,
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: so I'm waiting till somebody gives me an offering, like
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: we two the preseason. But Bosa as a pass rusher
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: last year before he hurt his hand good was very
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: much the edge one that they needed as a pass rusher.
- 1:35:58Speaker 1: They don't have that on this team. I think grud
- 1:36:01Speaker 1: is still a two. I think Chubb is a two.
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: But the bonus or the buff with Chubb is better
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: run defender can play in all three downs. This defense
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: is a good fit for him again. But overall, again
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: my whole thought is just on paper, I give the
- 1:36:14Speaker 1: edge attended to twenty twenty five. But I give also
- 1:36:21Speaker 1: to you know, the comingy from Charles Bosa was also
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: top ten and over running his gap and allowing monster runs.
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: Some of that is also I agree that his gap,
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: you know, his playoff the edge was very inconsistent and
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: poor oft times. Some of that is also the defensive
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: adjustment and the lack thereof, Like they also put him
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: in spots where he had to read the mesh point
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: and he guessed wrong, which.
- 1:36:41Speaker 2: Happened, Yeah, the read issue.
- 1:36:44Speaker 4: Yeah, he got caught on a lot of those, and
- 1:36:47Speaker 4: that's like, it's just part of it, and he's not
- 1:36:49Speaker 4: a quick mover anymore.
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: No, And there were also times two, yeah, where he's
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: taken the jump and he's like, okay, let me try
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: and knife in make a play and it's like, uh oh,
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: but that happens the guys from time to time. I
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: don't think he was top ten in this way. I
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: think my frustration was more of with Bosa is everybody
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: takes the run defense stuff and the play down the
- 1:37:09Speaker 1: stretch and forgets that he was everything the Bills wanted
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: him to be and needed him to be before he
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: broke his hand and could only use one hand, and
- 1:37:16Speaker 1: he had a club on his hand. I always remember
- 1:37:20Speaker 1: McDermott yelling at him, I forget what game where He's
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: like wrap him up, wrap him up, and Boso like
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: looks at his hand and looks at McDermott like, well,
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: I can't. I don't have a hand. I've got a
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: club and a cast on my hand. I can't do that.
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: And I remember being like, Sean, what are you doing?
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: You know, he broke his hand. He can't do that.
- 1:37:38Speaker 1: So I think I think they've taken a step up
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: as a run defense from the top two, you know,
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: Bosa and Chubb, Chubb and Groot versus Groot and Bosa.
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: But I think they've taken a step back as a
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: pass rush unit off the edge. And again scheme and structure. Yes,
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: I think Leonard makes them better. There is projection in
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: all this, but we're talking just paper. I lean slightly
- 1:37:59Speaker 1: towards twenty twenty five, even though I didn't really love
- 1:38:02Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, which six. Yeah, but if we're including
- 1:38:07Speaker 1: Jim Leonard and projecting guys in the scheme and system
- 1:38:11Speaker 1: and projecting a rookie and TJ Parker, I will take
- 1:38:15Speaker 1: twenty twenty six so I do agree with that, but
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: it's just more projection and hope than it is proof concept.
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: We know what this is type of deal.
- 1:38:24Speaker 4: Yeah it was tight for me, but yeah, I think
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: I gotta go with the projection. Like I but is
- 1:38:30Speaker 4: admittedly didn't even like the TJ. Parker pick when it happened.
- 1:38:34Speaker 4: But the more I watched the film, the more I
- 1:38:35Speaker 4: was like, I get it. I see why they liked him.
- 1:38:39Speaker 4: He's the fit for the three down player that they
- 1:38:41Speaker 4: just love.
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: I didn't dislike him, as you and I talked so
- 1:38:44Speaker 1: much that whole weekend, as we do. I didn't dislike
- 1:38:47Speaker 1: him as a prospect. I just disliked the archetype, staying
- 1:38:50Speaker 1: in that mold. But I was like, he's a good player,
- 1:38:53Speaker 1: like high four plays all three downs. I said it
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: to you. I was like, he's the type of dude
- 1:38:57Speaker 1: who's gonna play in the NFL, barring injury, type who's
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: gonna be in the NFL for like seven, eight, nine years,
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: and he's just going to be a solid high end
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: Edge three or mid tier Edge two for like the
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: entirety of his career. And he's just going to be
- 1:39:11Speaker 1: a really useful player down in and down out, and
- 1:39:14Speaker 1: I was like, that's awesome to have.
- 1:39:16Speaker 4: And I think he's in the perfect role right now
- 1:39:18Speaker 4: as a rookie, Like that's that's where it really fits
- 1:39:20Speaker 4: for me. Is I think he's got such a great
- 1:39:24Speaker 4: launch pad for a rookie season where I think he's
- 1:39:27Speaker 4: going to maximize his development this year, whereas you know,
- 1:39:30Speaker 4: different situation, like a lot of people were trying to
- 1:39:33Speaker 4: peg him to the Chargers and it's like he might
- 1:39:35Speaker 4: have to like produce right away if he was on
- 1:39:37Speaker 4: the Chargers, but right now, it's like he can really
- 1:39:39Speaker 4: learn behind these two guys and get in there and
- 1:39:42Speaker 4: pin your ears back when you have to.
- 1:39:44Speaker 1: Yeah, And I think he's in the mold of what
- 1:39:46Speaker 1: Chubb was coming out and maybe not very similar, very similar, yep.
- 1:39:51Speaker 1: Get to learn from that dude from a play style standpoint.
- 1:39:53Speaker 1: And I mean, hey, if if the NFL Draft, if
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: people's twenty twenty four, I'm not even gonna make this
- 1:40:01Speaker 1: as broad as I could or clever. If twenty twenty
- 1:40:04Speaker 1: four TJ. Parker was in this draft, this draft class,
- 1:40:08Speaker 1: he would have been a top ten pick.
- 1:40:09Speaker 4: Yeah, a Dion Walker conversation. Yeah, so Bean loves those guys.
- 1:40:15Speaker 1: Hey, does, and I mean I get it, like take
- 1:40:17Speaker 1: a shot, because if you get the upside, if you
- 1:40:19Speaker 1: get the ceiling, that's awesome. And he's still.
- 1:40:21Speaker 4: Moderate well young relative to all these like old COVID
- 1:40:25Speaker 4: transfer guys, like he's still a younger prospect for I
- 1:40:28Speaker 4: guess the contemporary draft that we're in fair.
- 1:40:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I think that's fair. So yeah, if we're if
- 1:40:34Speaker 1: we're including projection from a scheme standpoint and rookie standpoint,
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: I'll take twenty twenty six if it's purely on paper,
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: I mean twenty twenty five. But I respect your answer,
- 1:40:42Speaker 1: good answer.
- 1:40:43Speaker 2: That's our first differ, right, that's our first differ.
- 1:40:46Speaker 1: Kind of because I do agree with you, but I'm
- 1:40:48Speaker 1: just holding to what we've done before, which is not
- 1:40:51Speaker 1: projecting and just going pure off paper.
- 1:40:52Speaker 2: Yeah, that's our first differ.
- 1:40:54Speaker 1: I mean, yeah, I guess that's fair because if we
- 1:40:57Speaker 1: include projection, I agree with you. But if not, Yeah,
- 1:41:01Speaker 1: this is where I yeah, this is where I deviated.
- 1:41:05Speaker 1: Like I just cheated. Yeah, I just I mean, what
- 1:41:08Speaker 1: am I gonna do.
- 1:41:09Speaker 4: Like just not count Parker though, you know, because like
- 1:41:12Speaker 4: at that point, you just like can't count him fair, right,
- 1:41:16Speaker 4: So I just kind of had to compare I guess
- 1:41:19Speaker 4: his college tape to what I know Epanessa to be.
- 1:41:22Speaker 1: That's fair. Yeah, fair, you cheated, I mean we didn't
- 1:41:25Speaker 1: do that for wider Yeah, go ahead cheat, Yeah, liar.
- 1:41:29Speaker 4: I didn't even talk about Skylar Bell thoughts. I invoked him,
- 1:41:33Speaker 4: but didn't talk about him once I invoked him, didn't
- 1:41:40Speaker 4: didn't go into anything on him.
- 1:41:42Speaker 2: But his name was mentioned.
- 1:41:44Speaker 1: His name definitely was mentioned. You could talk about it
- 1:41:45Speaker 1: if you want. I'm just over there. No, I don't,
- 1:41:47Speaker 1: I don't need to.
- 1:41:48Speaker 4: Like we we established that twenty twenty six is better,
- 1:41:51Speaker 4: honestly without Scalar Bell conversation.
- 1:41:54Speaker 1: Very true. Next position group interior defensive line.
- 1:42:01Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:42:02Speaker 1: For the sake of this argument, this is essentially anybody
- 1:42:05Speaker 1: in this year's defense that is not an edge player.
- 1:42:07Speaker 1: So this is, you know, whether you're a four eye,
- 1:42:10Speaker 1: anybody who plays inside the edges, anybody who plays inside
- 1:42:14Speaker 1: the end man on the line of scrimmage is included
- 1:42:16Speaker 1: in this conversation because you know, in the odd front
- 1:42:19Speaker 1: stuff they'll be you know, guys will be a defensive
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: end quote unquote, but then in the even front sub
- 1:42:23Speaker 1: package stuff, they're going to be back to being a
- 1:42:25Speaker 1: one in the three tech like they weren't previously Aander mcdermot's.
- 1:42:28Speaker 1: It's all the same thing to a degree. But last
- 1:42:31Speaker 1: year's group ed Oliver, Larry Ogunjobi Day, Kwon Jones, Faderian Mathis,
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: t J. Sanders, Zion Log, Jordan Phillips, and d On Walker.
- 1:42:44Speaker 1: This year's interior grouping again including the defensive ends in
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: the odd front base. Look, you are looking at TJ. Sanders,
- 1:42:52Speaker 1: Landon Jackson, Dion Walker, Faderian Mathis, Zion Log, Ed, Oliver,
- 1:42:59Speaker 1: Dwayne Harder, Zane Durant, a couple of other guys you
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: can potentially throw in their tube. And I'm not in
- 1:43:04Speaker 1: conclude like the baseline bottom depth chart guys, the add
- 1:43:08Speaker 1: interior defensive line grouping, and granted one of them is
- 1:43:12Speaker 1: you know, two of them technically are kind of movers
- 1:43:14Speaker 1: a little bit schematically with Sanders and Jackson twenty twenty
- 1:43:18Speaker 1: five or twenty twenty six, What do you got?
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: This sucks because I didn't like twenty twenty five, but
- 1:43:29Speaker 4: it's twenty twenty five, Okay, Yeah, Like I think we're
- 1:43:35Speaker 4: gonna get downgrade this year, but this is a projection
- 1:43:39Speaker 4: potential opportunity like this is a massive Like they could
- 1:43:43Speaker 4: totally pull the wool over my eyes on this thing.
- 1:43:46Speaker 4: Like because I like TJ. Sanders, I like Deon Walker,
- 1:43:50Speaker 4: I like the idea of beefing up Land and Jackson.
- 1:43:54Speaker 4: I actually think it suits his skill set better. I
- 1:43:56Speaker 4: think you kind of revitalizing save Doanne.
- 1:44:02Speaker 2: Carter's career a little bit by adding some weight to him.
- 1:44:06Speaker 4: Okay, kind of weird, convoluted way of saving his skill
- 1:44:10Speaker 4: set and finding a role for him. And then obviously
- 1:44:15Speaker 4: you throw Zane Durant into the mix, and like there's
- 1:44:17Speaker 4: projection potential there. So it's a downgrade, like losing Dayekwon Jones.
- 1:44:25Speaker 4: Larry Ogunjobi was bad last year, but like what he
- 1:44:29Speaker 4: was as a player prior to Buffalo, Like you assessed
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: that at this time last year, You're like, oh, I
- 1:44:36Speaker 4: see what this could be in uh you know, even
- 1:44:39Speaker 4: front defense, penetrate, shoot the gaps, that kind of guy.
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: Obviously he wasn't that guy for us, but it was.
- 1:44:46Speaker 4: I still just I have more confidence in that roster,
- 1:44:52Speaker 4: even knowing how it turned out. I would have had
- 1:44:54Speaker 4: more confidence in that defensive line group than this. That said, Like,
- 1:45:00Speaker 4: I am very excited to see the potential of a
- 1:45:04Speaker 4: lot of these guys, like.
- 1:45:06Speaker 2: Mainly people like Landon Jackson and TJ.
- 1:45:08Speaker 1: Sanders.
- 1:45:09Speaker 4: To be totally honest, those are probably the main two
- 1:45:12Speaker 4: that I'm most excited to see the development and the
- 1:45:16Speaker 4: usage of those guys in this new system.
- 1:45:20Speaker 2: Yeah, the Lane and.
- 1:45:20Speaker 4: Jackson one is so interesting because we were both very
- 1:45:26Speaker 4: I guess intrigued isn't the right word. By them drafting him.
- 1:45:30Speaker 4: It was just like, oh, okay, another guy, same archetype,
- 1:45:33Speaker 4: and we know he can't bend that edge, but we
- 1:45:38Speaker 4: know he plays with physicality, we know he has length,
- 1:45:42Speaker 4: and by adding some size to him, we know he'll
- 1:45:45Speaker 4: be a solid run defender in the middle. And will
- 1:45:49Speaker 4: he still be agile enough or explosive enough with the
- 1:45:54Speaker 4: added weight to kind of bully around the guards or
- 1:45:57Speaker 4: on the inside shoulder of the tackles. It's gonna be interesting,
- 1:46:01Speaker 4: but ultimately, like it's just a lot of room to
- 1:46:05Speaker 4: grow type of roster.
- 1:46:07Speaker 1: Fair, I'm your answer is interesting, especially from the projection standpoint.
- 1:46:13Speaker 1: I'm I already didn't want to answer this like and
- 1:46:20Speaker 1: then like as I like did it and like went
- 1:46:22Speaker 1: through and like okay, like put actual notes together instead
- 1:46:24Speaker 1: of just my thoughts, like I didn't want to answer
- 1:46:27Speaker 1: it even more so much of this is again projection base.
- 1:46:34Speaker 1: But you could make the case either way, right Like
- 1:46:36Speaker 1: you can project and say like this defense might actually
- 1:46:40Speaker 1: help TJ. Sanders and Land and Jackson and I'll could
- 1:46:43Speaker 1: be even better in this defense and all these guys,
- 1:46:46Speaker 1: right like, or TJ. Sanders could struggle a ton like
- 1:46:51Speaker 1: he did last year, or the high cut and lower
- 1:46:54Speaker 1: body stiffness of Land and Jackson might still be an issue,
- 1:46:58Speaker 1: and maybe he can't maintain that wait and play at
- 1:47:00Speaker 1: the NFL level and go on from there, like because
- 1:47:03Speaker 1: he still hasn't played NFL competition because he was out
- 1:47:05Speaker 1: all last year, Dwayne Carter, this could be better for him,
- 1:47:09Speaker 1: or he could still be just very largely ineffective like
- 1:47:12Speaker 1: he was early on. You know, he was at best
- 1:47:16Speaker 1: at Duke when he was like two hundred ninety two
- 1:47:18Speaker 1: hundred ninety five pounds, when he was a pure one
- 1:47:21Speaker 1: gapping penetrating three tech.
- 1:47:24Speaker 4: But now ost Achilles, does it make sense just add
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: some weight if he's gonna lose explosion.
- 1:47:30Speaker 1: Sure, but he's never had a game that's allowed him
- 1:47:34Speaker 1: to okay, read read run schemes anchor, take on double teams,
- 1:47:39Speaker 1: reduce my surface area, use my hands and move and
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: and mitigate displacement. And now he's what's he gonna be
- 1:47:47Speaker 1: a nose? Is he gonna be one of the four eyes?
- 1:47:50Speaker 4: Like?
- 1:47:50Speaker 1: How does he? There's again, you could make the case
- 1:47:54Speaker 1: that this works out better. You could also makes the
- 1:47:56Speaker 1: case that it ends up significantly worm and it's bad.
- 1:48:03Speaker 1: It's hard for me to compare them because last year's
- 1:48:06Speaker 1: I was just very down on last year's right, like,
- 1:48:09Speaker 1: but at least I knew what it was. This year's
- 1:48:14Speaker 1: I don't know what it is, but which again has
- 1:48:16Speaker 1: some hope because it could still be good but could
- 1:48:20Speaker 1: also still be really bad. And I just I worry
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: about having the interior defensive line in particular. It goes
- 1:48:30Speaker 1: with really just what I've said a lot about the
- 1:48:32Speaker 1: Bill's defense and Leonard and everybody they've hadded this offseason.
- 1:48:35Speaker 1: I'm just worried about the key to the bills defensive
- 1:48:38Speaker 1: success consistently having to be Jim Leonard pressing the right
- 1:48:43Speaker 1: buttons and pulling the right levers all the time, which
- 1:48:45Speaker 1: is really like what it is if you're going to
- 1:48:47Speaker 1: play a movement based defense and it's like, hey, we're
- 1:48:50Speaker 1: gonna get this matchup. Like I'm going to create this
- 1:48:53Speaker 1: matchup for this guy. I'm gonna call this run, blitz,
- 1:48:55Speaker 1: this run, stunt, this call that call right, Like that
- 1:48:59Speaker 1: could all work. That's just a hard way to live.
- 1:49:01Speaker 1: It'd be nice to do that, but also still be
- 1:49:04Speaker 1: able to be like, I got these two guys in there,
- 1:49:07Speaker 1: nobody's moving. Those guys. They know how to play the run.
- 1:49:10Speaker 1: That's not happened. I can put them in on early downs.
- 1:49:12Speaker 1: We're good to constantly have to use a movement based
- 1:49:14Speaker 1: defense to stop the run and cut off areas of
- 1:49:17Speaker 1: the field and try and blow this up, penetrate this
- 1:49:20Speaker 1: go from here. It's just hard. Is it impossible? Nope?
- 1:49:26Speaker 1: Can it be done? Yep? But I feel like their
- 1:49:29Speaker 1: best chance of success is relying on Leonard to push
- 1:49:35Speaker 1: all these buttons, and Charles says, Aunt, we don't have
- 1:49:37Speaker 1: Miles Garrett, Chris Jones, what do you expect. I'll tell
- 1:49:39Speaker 1: you what I expect. I expect them to add some
- 1:49:42Speaker 1: guys who are cheap and cost effective who can stop
- 1:49:45Speaker 1: the run, which is easy again, and I shouldn't say easy, right.
- 1:49:50Speaker 4: I don't know they had the opportunity they had the
- 1:49:52Speaker 4: Operation McDonald.
- 1:49:54Speaker 1: It's not even the draft. The guys that are available
- 1:49:57Speaker 1: in free agency too. Brandon Bean has said year after year,
- 1:50:00Speaker 1: like the run stopping interior defenders, those guys are easy
- 1:50:03Speaker 1: to find it and those guys are cheap. We can
- 1:50:05Speaker 1: get those guys, then, why haven't you You've constantly been
- 1:50:08Speaker 1: pushed around on the interior. You haven't addressed that in
- 1:50:11Speaker 1: one way. I'm not saying they had to go out
- 1:50:14Speaker 1: and trade for Vita Ga, Jordan Davis or go again.
- 1:50:19Speaker 1: It doesn't even have to be a mammoth guy. I'm
- 1:50:21Speaker 1: not even looking for a big dude. Whoona Ford is
- 1:50:24Speaker 1: really good against the run and he's a small little
- 1:50:26Speaker 1: bowling ball of a man. The whole, they could have
- 1:50:30Speaker 1: addressed more of a run based interior defender to go
- 1:50:35Speaker 1: along with the movement pieces and the movement elements, and
- 1:50:39Speaker 1: it wouldn't have sacrificed the rest of the guys, you know,
- 1:50:43Speaker 1: like you didn't have to go with Zaane Durant. You
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: could have again, I don't know, maybe they offered Kiris Tonga,
- 1:50:52Speaker 1: Maybe they offered Roy Lopez. Maybe they wanted DJ reader Lay,
- 1:50:57Speaker 1: Maybe they wanted one of these other noses potentially, I'm
- 1:51:00Speaker 1: not going to speak and I've said that a ton
- 1:51:02Speaker 1: of times. Right, we don't know. They could have offered
- 1:51:04Speaker 1: Roy Lopez the exact contract Arizona offered him, and he
- 1:51:07Speaker 1: could have said, no, I want to go back to Arizona.
- 1:51:09Speaker 1: They could have offered him more, more money, more years,
- 1:51:12Speaker 1: and he could have been like, you know what, I
- 1:51:14Speaker 1: appreciate that offer. I still want to go back to Arizona.
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: We don't know. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt.
- 1:51:19Speaker 1: But to get pushed around like they did last year.
- 1:51:24Speaker 4: Against addressed it and not only not address it, lose
- 1:51:28Speaker 4: Daykuon and not addressing.
- 1:51:29Speaker 1: Yes, and you already had issues with it last year,
- 1:51:32Speaker 1: like day Quon was fading and I it's just worrisome.
- 1:51:38Speaker 1: And I know they don't have Miles Garrett or Chris Jones,
- 1:51:41Speaker 1: but you still could have supplemented specifically the run defense ask.
- 1:51:44Speaker 1: But pass Rush, I think is a different beast. Right,
- 1:51:46Speaker 1: It's like harder to get those guys, it's harder to
- 1:51:48Speaker 1: hit on those guys.
- 1:51:51Speaker 4: I agree with why he keeps going to that well
- 1:51:54Speaker 4: for that reason, like the philosophy of oh, it's easier
- 1:51:58Speaker 4: to get the run stoppers agree with But you made
- 1:52:01Speaker 4: a good point.
- 1:52:02Speaker 2: Then why haven't.
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: Why haven't you gone some that means you don't want them.
- 1:52:06Speaker 1: And even with pass rush, I can understand, Hey, we've
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: got some capable guys, but we're gonna game up offenses
- 1:52:17Speaker 1: on third and on passing down in distances and situations.
- 1:52:21Speaker 1: We're gonna game them up. And I can be like, Okay,
- 1:52:23Speaker 1: it's hard to do that against the run consistently at
- 1:52:27Speaker 1: a certain point. And you can even make this game
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: for the pass rush too. At a certain point, you
- 1:52:30Speaker 1: need somebody to get you a bucket as a pass
- 1:52:32Speaker 1: rusher at a certain yes, at a certain point with
- 1:52:35Speaker 1: run defense, you need somebody who ain't getting pushed. And
- 1:52:40Speaker 1: it doesn't have to be six two, three hundred and
- 1:52:43Speaker 1: thirty pounds. It could be six' one three oh. Five
- 1:52:48Speaker 1: but they're good at reading blocking. Schemes they're good at
- 1:52:52Speaker 1: reducing their. Service it could Be Kobe, turner WHO i
- 1:52:55Speaker 1: would love for The bills to get as he's an
- 1:52:57Speaker 1: UPCOMING ufa this. Offseason we'll see if he gets out
- 1:52:59Speaker 1: of l but it could be In Charles you so
- 1:53:04Speaker 1: you say win with, numbers they can add players to gaps.
- 1:53:07Speaker 1: It then that hurts you on the back end in
- 1:53:10Speaker 1: terms of the coverages you can. Play if you have
- 1:53:12Speaker 1: to sacrifice bodies to stop the, run you are now
- 1:53:16Speaker 1: limited in. Coverage if you have to sell out with
- 1:53:18Speaker 1: numbers to stop the, run sure you can gap, out
- 1:53:21Speaker 1: you can load up the. Box you can call these run.
- 1:53:23Speaker 1: Blitzes that then leaves you vulnerable on the back end
- 1:53:27Speaker 1: because you can't just a basic. Thing you want to walk. Down, okay,
- 1:53:31Speaker 1: cool you know we're gonna walk the safety. Down if
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: you don't have two safeties on the back, end you
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: can only play cover one and you can only play cover.
- 1:53:38Speaker 1: Three you can only play two. Coverages that's. It and
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: that's just one small example you can win by gapping.
- 1:53:43Speaker 1: Out it just limits you on the back end in
- 1:53:47Speaker 1: terms of what you can do and also makes you more,
- 1:53:50Speaker 1: predictable and it gives you a tell if teams, know,
- 1:53:53Speaker 1: well we can just run on them all day unless
- 1:53:54Speaker 1: they run blitz us or walk a safety, down then,
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: yes you could disguise it a little bit or try and.
- 1:53:59Speaker 1: Tie but, again it's all these variables and moving parts
- 1:54:02Speaker 1: where you have to push the right button at the
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: right time to get the right result and if you
- 1:54:09Speaker 1: don't push that button at the right time and they
- 1:54:12Speaker 1: call a run play that takes advantage of where you
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: brought the blitz. From or you blitz thinking it was
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: going to be a run and it's actually a play action,
- 1:54:19Speaker 1: pass and now there's nobody in the second. Level all
- 1:54:22Speaker 1: these things kind of. Compound my issue with. It isn't
- 1:54:25Speaker 1: that like the interior defensive. LINE i don't think it, like,
- 1:54:27Speaker 1: well it makes them a horrible. DEFENSE i just think
- 1:54:30Speaker 1: it limits what they can. Be i'm always a. Defense
- 1:54:32Speaker 1: i'm always trying to play rock paper scissors and be
- 1:54:35Speaker 1: able to throw, rock paper and. Scissors but if you're
- 1:54:39Speaker 1: playing rock paper scissors and you can only throw paper and,
- 1:54:42Speaker 1: scissors you limit your odds of. Winning because what happens
- 1:54:45Speaker 1: if you come up against somebody who's also thrown who throws.
- 1:54:49Speaker 1: Scissors oh, man we can throw rock, Today you can't
- 1:54:52Speaker 1: because you can't throw. Rock so what do you? Do
- 1:54:55Speaker 1: and it just gets. Worried the same thing With like
- 1:54:58Speaker 1: my analogy to is always like the baseball, lineup like
- 1:55:00Speaker 1: can you win with all power? Hitters? Sure can you
- 1:55:04Speaker 1: win with all hitters for average doubles and singles and
- 1:55:08Speaker 1: steel bases and you, know squeeze plays and small ball
- 1:55:12Speaker 1: Short it's hard to only win that. Way, yeah that's
- 1:55:15Speaker 1: why you need a lineup, where, hey we got some
- 1:55:18Speaker 1: guys who can hit for, average we got guys who
- 1:55:20Speaker 1: get on, base we got guys who hit for. Power
- 1:55:23Speaker 1: you need to be able to be whatever you need
- 1:55:25Speaker 1: to in order to beat an. OPPONENT i don't think
- 1:55:28Speaker 1: The bills have. That. Now does that mean they can't?
- 1:55:32Speaker 1: Win absolutely. Not they still could. Win it's just a
- 1:55:35Speaker 1: hard world to rely On Jim leonard to push the
- 1:55:38Speaker 1: right buttons and do the right things all the. Time,
- 1:55:40Speaker 1: now the caveat to all, This kendle is like what
- 1:55:42Speaker 1: we talked. About if these guys take a, jump IF.
- 1:55:47Speaker 1: Tj sanders takes a, jump or if the scheme fits him,
- 1:55:49Speaker 1: better or If Jim leonard uses him, better or If
- 1:55:52Speaker 1: Landon jackson takes a. Jump, right guys could take jumps
- 1:55:55Speaker 1: individually and Or leonard scheming them up better and using them.
- 1:55:59Speaker 1: BETTER i just think at the end of the, day
- 1:56:01Speaker 1: a lot of it comes down To Jim leonard pressing
- 1:56:04Speaker 1: the right buttons at the right. Time and that's just,
- 1:56:07Speaker 1: hard not just For Jim leonard but for anybody like
- 1:56:09Speaker 1: to ask somebody to constantly press the right buttons in THE,
- 1:56:13Speaker 1: nfl especially when you get down the stretch towards the
- 1:56:16Speaker 1: end of the. Year that's, hard, man that's.
- 1:56:19Speaker 4: Hard the more the more you talk about, that the
- 1:56:23Speaker 4: more it makes me feel Like Jim leonard AND i
- 1:56:28Speaker 4: said this, early he.
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: Really prioritized the.
- 1:56:32Speaker 4: Secondary he knew what this defense needed to get, to
- 1:56:38Speaker 4: what would be optimal for him in his. System AND
- 1:56:42Speaker 4: i think he knew the engine for it starts in
- 1:56:45Speaker 4: the secondary and he can work with you, know what
- 1:56:49Speaker 4: they got or marginal editions here or there on the defensive,
- 1:56:53Speaker 4: line but they can get the type of bodies that
- 1:56:56Speaker 4: they want for the defensive line next. Year.
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: Yeah and again there's like we talked about, earlier right
- 1:57:02Speaker 1: to make all these, changes or to make even some
- 1:57:04Speaker 1: of them was hard this. Year financial, limitations draft allocation
- 1:57:07Speaker 1: or draft capital. Limitations it's hard to get all that.
- 1:57:11Speaker 1: Done and, AGAIN i don't think this means it's, bad,
- 1:57:17Speaker 1: RIGHT i JUST i would like it a bit more
- 1:57:20Speaker 1: if there was some more well roundedness to that lineup
- 1:57:23Speaker 1: on the interior instead OF i think you have more
- 1:57:26Speaker 1: questions than. Answers now those questions could end up being
- 1:57:29Speaker 1: really good. Answers those questions could be worse. Answers, right
- 1:57:32Speaker 1: there is a Chance Jim leonard is calling great games
- 1:57:37Speaker 1: and The bills are winning with movement and attacking minded
- 1:57:41Speaker 1: nature and everything's working. Out there's also a chance that
- 1:57:45Speaker 1: they're getting caught out with all this movement and everybody's
- 1:57:48Speaker 1: getting pushed. Around then we're sitting having the same conversation, again,
- 1:57:53Speaker 1: Right but, YEAH i think there, OVERALL i didn't love
- 1:57:56Speaker 1: to twenty twenty. FIVE i don't love twenty twenty six either.
- 1:58:00Speaker 1: Option i'll give it to twenty twenty six IF i
- 1:58:02Speaker 1: can Include Jim leonard and, projection BECAUSE i believe In Jim.
- 1:58:05Speaker 1: Leonard so you cheat on, Paper, YEAH i would cheat
- 1:58:09Speaker 1: for this, one just on. Paper, YEAH i GUESS i
- 1:58:14Speaker 1: would take twenty twenty. Five BUT i really just disliked
- 1:58:18Speaker 1: this this. OPTION i disliked this part of the. EXERCISE
- 1:58:21Speaker 1: i just wasn't having it at. All claude, says if
- 1:58:25Speaker 1: The bills Drafted Kristin miller Or Big, citrus would you
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: feel the same. Way i'll let you answer, first OR
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: i can answer, first if you want to compose.
- 1:58:32Speaker 4: YOURSELF i would definitely lean twenty twenty six if either
- 1:58:37Speaker 4: of them were. DRAFTED i had a different, scenario BUT
- 1:58:41Speaker 4: i McDonalds want you to answer. First, NO i want
- 1:58:44Speaker 4: you to answer this, first and Then i'll pitch my separate.
- 1:58:47Speaker 1: Scenario, YEAH i one hundred percent would feel, differently AND
- 1:58:50Speaker 1: i would feel much better about twenty twenty, six because
- 1:58:52Speaker 1: again it's not even especially if It's Kristin. Miller BUT
- 1:58:54Speaker 1: i like both of these. PROSPECTS i just want this
- 1:58:58Speaker 1: skill set somewhere in the. Defense one, YEA i think
- 1:59:01Speaker 1: it can act as a force multiplier for the rest
- 1:59:03Speaker 1: of the. Defense but, TWO i also think it helps
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: free Up Deon walker to go do some stuff and
- 1:59:10Speaker 1: move around a little. Bit, yeah kind you get to
- 1:59:12Speaker 1: limit his skills or limit his skill, set maximize his
- 1:59:14Speaker 1: skill set a little, bit and do what you. Did
- 1:59:16Speaker 1: it did A kentucky where he's in THE a, gap
- 1:59:19Speaker 1: he's in THE b, gap he's a, shade he's head,
- 1:59:21Speaker 1: up he's lined up in a wide. Nine what the
- 1:59:23Speaker 1: hell is? Happening, LIKE i just think that skill set is.
- 1:59:26Speaker 1: Important it is from and yeahs the conversation is, saying,
- 1:59:30Speaker 1: like maybe he didn't want those guys as much as they.
- 1:59:32Speaker 1: Think i'm not saying he Did i'm saying they could
- 1:59:37Speaker 1: have laid this out and, said, hey we don't have
- 1:59:40Speaker 1: the money for, this this is the way it's gonna,
- 1:59:42Speaker 1: be and so he said. FINE i also just don't
- 1:59:45Speaker 1: completely BUY i don't completely buy. That he came in
- 1:59:50Speaker 1: and talked about having run defense be the foundation of
- 1:59:55Speaker 1: the defense and winning on early downs and knowing he
- 1:59:57Speaker 1: came from a defense that HAD Dj jones And Malcolm
- 2:00:01Speaker 1: roach and these guys up, front and then he came
- 2:00:04Speaker 1: to the bills and was, like, YEAH i think a
- 2:00:06Speaker 1: front OF. Tj sanders And Landon jackson is completely. Fine
- 2:00:11Speaker 1: and again they could be maybe he really loves. THEM
- 2:00:14Speaker 1: i just think that's that's a high. Bet and if
- 2:00:16Speaker 1: he thinks, That god bless, him he could one thousand
- 2:00:18Speaker 1: percent be right AND i could be one thousand percent be.
- 2:00:20Speaker 1: Wrong What i'm also saying is it doesn't hurt to
- 2:00:25Speaker 1: get some variability added into. That, LIKE i don't think
- 2:00:28Speaker 1: it hurts. You it doesn't take away from the movement
- 2:00:31Speaker 1: nature of the. Defense if you added somebody whose main
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: skill set is run defense and displacement, mitigation it doesn't hurt.
- 2:00:40Speaker 1: You whether that was a FOUR, e whether that was
- 2:00:43Speaker 1: a nose, whatever it doesn't hurt any of. That you.
- 2:00:46Speaker 1: Can that's my bigger thing, Too like you can still
- 2:00:48Speaker 1: do all the movement, stuff but you also have this
- 2:00:51Speaker 1: other guy who can do this other thing which is,
- 2:00:54Speaker 1: fun and instead it's just, like, nope we're not going
- 2:00:56Speaker 1: to do any of.
- 2:00:56Speaker 4: That.
- 2:00:58Speaker 1: AGAIN i think that that's the larger, converce, Right like
- 2:01:00Speaker 1: did they want? That did they? Not how much money
- 2:01:03Speaker 1: did they have or you know what emphasis was? This
- 2:01:06Speaker 1: maybe they didn't want this at. All this is exactly
- 2:01:08Speaker 1: what it. Was and maybe that's the. Case if that
- 2:01:11Speaker 1: is the, CASE i do Trust Jim. Leonard i'm gonna
- 2:01:14Speaker 1: go ahead and. DISAGREE i still think you need those
- 2:01:17Speaker 1: type of bodies and that skill set in. There but
- 2:01:19Speaker 1: to each their. Own and, Again Jim, leonard he's a confident.
- 2:01:22Speaker 1: Dude he might sit there and be, LIKE i don't,
- 2:01:24Speaker 1: care get some dudes off the. STREET i can press
- 2:01:26Speaker 1: the right buttons and pull the right levers at all
- 2:01:28Speaker 1: the right time and we'll be.
- 2:01:29Speaker 4: Gold right would you, have, hypothetically would you go back
- 2:01:34Speaker 4: in time if you could swap out D alford for
- 2:01:38Speaker 4: insert same amount of money for a nose tackle type
- 2:01:43Speaker 4: skill set?
- 2:01:44Speaker 2: Here would you do?
- 2:01:45Speaker 1: It? Oh? Man?
- 2:01:48Speaker 4: Right knowing what we know of the, secondary, now who
- 2:01:51Speaker 4: else could play the?
- 2:01:52Speaker 2: Nickel would you make that?
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: Swap it's tough BECAUSE i think you THERE'S i don't
- 2:02:03Speaker 1: think there's one player that can holistically do all the
- 2:02:05Speaker 1: nickel stuff you need. Completely you have some guys who
- 2:02:08Speaker 1: can do the big nickel, stuff and then D alford
- 2:02:10Speaker 1: who can do the small nickel coverage, stuff and when
- 2:02:12Speaker 1: you add all them, together you can play, chess, nickel play.
- 2:02:16Speaker 4: Nickel, Correct SO i THINK i Think alfred is. IMPORTANT
- 2:02:19Speaker 4: i know THAT i pose the question So.
- 2:02:22Speaker 1: Alfred is, important but, YEAH i would trade him for
- 2:02:26Speaker 1: a nose of similar.
- 2:02:28Speaker 4: Ill and THEN i, Say, okay if there's a shifty
- 2:02:31Speaker 4: slot wide, receiver he's gonna beat.
- 2:02:34Speaker 1: Us or DO i get the? Opportunity DO i DO
- 2:02:36Speaker 1: i get the opportunity to still address the nickel? Spot
- 2:02:38Speaker 1: like CAN i draft a nickel in the?
- 2:02:40Speaker 4: DRAFT i guess, hypothetically, yeah because you would have made
- 2:02:43Speaker 4: that signing. Earlier, Yeah BUT i GUESS i was posing
- 2:02:46Speaker 4: the question as, like just.
- 2:02:48Speaker 1: If if it's if it's a, whole if it's a whole,
- 2:02:50Speaker 1: matter what's.
- 2:02:50Speaker 4: Just complete one for one swap like roster is exactly the,
- 2:02:54Speaker 4: same just Changing alford for call It Roy, lopez you, know, yeah.
- 2:03:00Speaker 1: Because i'm it's.
- 2:03:03Speaker 2: TIGHT i know this is.
- 2:03:04Speaker 1: Tough oh, man throw my boy in, There Roy lo every.
- 2:03:08Speaker 4: Day well it's just weird, though because they built the
- 2:03:10Speaker 4: nickel and the aggregate this.
- 2:03:11Speaker 1: Year that's fair and good way to put. It it's
- 2:03:15Speaker 1: what's WHAT i would probably, say, yes BECAUSE i think
- 2:03:20Speaker 1: that interior spot of THAT d line spot as a hole,
- 2:03:22Speaker 1: now whereas if you get rid Of, alford part of
- 2:03:26Speaker 1: it as a, whole but not the holistic. Thing AND
- 2:03:30Speaker 1: i think you can still cobble together enough usage out
- 2:03:33Speaker 1: of A Chauncey, Gardner Cole Bishop, nickel maybe Maybe Jason.
- 2:03:40Speaker 1: KILGORE i don't want to put a line on The.
- 2:03:41Speaker 1: KILGORE i feel like that's. All that's the, thing.
- 2:03:43Speaker 4: RIGHT i feel like you're taking away from everyone's strength
- 2:03:47Speaker 4: by not having D.
- 2:03:48Speaker 1: Alford, no he's a he's a decent straw that stirs the.
- 2:03:53Speaker 1: Drink because, again they put together the nickel and the
- 2:03:54Speaker 1: are so if you take away take away part of the,
- 2:03:57Speaker 1: aggregate you lose the. Totality So i'll offer matters like,
- 2:04:03Speaker 1: again they are gonna play more base, defense but they're
- 2:04:06Speaker 1: also gonna play a bunch of. Nickel but what kind
- 2:04:08Speaker 1: of nickel are they gonna? Play it's gonna be dependent
- 2:04:10Speaker 1: upon the opponent they. Play De alford might get twenty
- 2:04:13Speaker 1: percent snaps this, week he might get sixty five percent
- 2:04:16Speaker 1: snaps next. Week like it might, be you, know more
- 2:04:18Speaker 1: big nickel this. Week who is? It where is? It
- 2:04:20Speaker 1: how is? It, well that's a really good way to deposit.
- 2:04:24Speaker 1: IT i oh, boy, YEAH i PROBABLY i would probably
- 2:04:30Speaker 1: make the swap because even THOUGH i Lose, ALFORD i
- 2:04:32Speaker 1: still have some semblance of the aggregate still. There whereas
- 2:04:36Speaker 1: it's just one hole that is vacant and vulnerable from
- 2:04:40Speaker 1: a defensive line. Standpoint, ooh that was what about? You
- 2:04:42Speaker 1: would you do? It that's the. Answer it's a deep
- 2:04:47Speaker 1: breath and a.
- 2:04:48Speaker 4: SIGH i don't THINK i would BECAUSE i don't like
- 2:04:52Speaker 4: what it forces me to do With kilgore in year.
- 2:04:54Speaker 1: One oh that's. Fair but see here's my other, answer, though,
- 2:04:58Speaker 1: too is like it doesn't have to be. That it
- 2:05:02Speaker 1: didn't like?
- 2:05:03Speaker 4: It?
- 2:05:03Speaker 2: DOES i feel?
- 2:05:04Speaker 1: LIKE i, MEAN i mean this idea of, like, yeah you,
- 2:05:08Speaker 1: know if it has to be this, swap they could
- 2:05:10Speaker 1: have addressed the front from a run defense standpoint and
- 2:05:14Speaker 1: still found another Competent, nickel or they still could have
- 2:05:16Speaker 1: The alford and still could have addressed the run defense
- 2:05:19Speaker 1: piece up. Front like your exercise obviously is a specific.
- 2:05:22Speaker 1: Thing what my issue is, is like it did it
- 2:05:25Speaker 1: didn't have to be this in real? Life like it
- 2:05:27Speaker 1: could have been why not? Both it's that little girl
- 2:05:31Speaker 1: on the, meme, like why not? Both? YEAH i, uh
- 2:05:38Speaker 1: that's the. Way that's a good, one. MAN i didn't
- 2:05:41Speaker 1: REALIZE i was going to bang the tip on the
- 2:05:42Speaker 1: table so much for D alford and his importance in this.
- 2:05:44Speaker 1: Defense but that's the aggregate.
- 2:05:47Speaker 2: Man like it's a domino. EFFECT i like.
- 2:05:51Speaker 1: THAT i like.
- 2:05:53Speaker 4: That.
- 2:05:55Speaker 1: Interesting oh, sorry anything else on into your defensive.
- 2:05:59Speaker 2: Line let's move to. Linebackers i'm gonna call.
- 2:06:01Speaker 1: It i'm gonna call it a push AND i dislike. Both,
- 2:06:04Speaker 1: yeah But i'll play the upside Of leonard in the.
- 2:06:07Speaker 1: SCHEME i am still. INTO i am. Hopeful, Yeah i'm.
- 2:06:10Speaker 1: Hopeful he maximizes everyone and he does push the right
- 2:06:13Speaker 1: buttons and pull the right, levers which he is he
- 2:06:16Speaker 1: is capable. Of, again this is for. Me he is
- 2:06:18Speaker 1: the prince that was, promised As i've been talking about
- 2:06:20Speaker 1: for three or four years linebacker, again a little bit
- 2:06:25Speaker 1: of a different structure this, year but we're looking at
- 2:06:27Speaker 1: the linebackers last, Year Shaq, Thompson Matt, Malano Baal, Inspector Joe,
- 2:06:32Speaker 1: Andreeson Terrel, Bernard Jimmy, Charlo Dorian, Williams Keyanta. Jenkins this
- 2:06:39Speaker 1: year's linebacker Grouping Terrel, Bernard Dorrian, Williams caleb Elarms, Or Joe,
- 2:06:46Speaker 1: Andreeson Keanta, Jenkins Jimmy charlo once, again and then some
- 2:06:51Speaker 1: def guys down the pike after. That so twenty twenty
- 2:06:55Speaker 1: six versus twenty twenty five Linebackers where yeah.
- 2:06:59Speaker 2: Go with twenty twenty?
- 2:07:00Speaker 4: Five AND i think it really does stem from Losing
- 2:07:04Speaker 4: milano And, thompson believe it or, Not like even as
- 2:07:07Speaker 4: long in the tooth as they, were.
- 2:07:10Speaker 2: It's just a better. Group you kind of know what
- 2:07:13Speaker 2: you're gonna.
- 2:07:13Speaker 4: GET i do think there's a numbers perspective that also
- 2:07:16Speaker 4: plays out just in the scheme, change which kind of
- 2:07:19Speaker 4: plays to twenty twenty five's favor because there's just more
- 2:07:22Speaker 4: guys on the.
- 2:07:22Speaker 2: Roster you need more.
- 2:07:23Speaker 4: Linebackers BUT i still just think.
- 2:07:30Speaker 2: It's gonna be projection heavy this.
- 2:07:31Speaker 4: Year Right it's gonna be rooting for no injuries For
- 2:07:35Speaker 4: bernard and he stays on that development path he was
- 2:07:38Speaker 4: on outside of the injury, realm and Then. Dorian you're
- 2:07:43Speaker 4: hoping on development From Dorian. Williams AND i really Like CALEB.
- 2:07:48Speaker 4: B Larms, OR i really, do but once, again he's
- 2:07:51Speaker 4: a rookie the same WAY i really LIKE.
- 2:07:54Speaker 2: Tj.
- 2:07:55Speaker 4: Parker at least like WHEN i was doing The Whole edge,
- 2:07:59Speaker 4: COMPARISON i had someone somewhat equivalent to make the comparison
- 2:08:04Speaker 4: with between T. J parker and A, japanessa there really
- 2:08:08Speaker 4: isn't that comparison for.
- 2:08:09Speaker 2: Me this, year you're kind of.
- 2:08:10Speaker 4: Comparison you're comparing el Arms or To Dorian williams of last.
- 2:08:15Speaker 4: YEAR i GUESS i think that's probably the closest thing
- 2:08:19Speaker 4: you can.
- 2:08:19Speaker 2: Do AND.
- 2:08:21Speaker 1: I MEAN i like.
- 2:08:22Speaker 2: IT i feel like he could do that in year,
- 2:08:25Speaker 2: One CALEB. E Arms, OR i JUST.
- 2:08:29Speaker 4: I don't like the position it puts the starters in right.
- 2:08:31Speaker 4: NOW i just think the starters are kind of asked
- 2:08:34Speaker 4: to do a little too. Much you're expecting full health
- 2:08:37Speaker 4: From bernard and you're expecting a jump in well consistency From.
- 2:08:43Speaker 4: Dorian BECAUSE i like a lot of What dorian, offers
- 2:08:47Speaker 4: but we need to see it on a consistent, basis
- 2:08:49Speaker 4: and we haven't seen that.
- 2:08:50Speaker 1: Yet i'm right there with. YOU i THINK i think
- 2:08:53Speaker 1: To bernard sees a boost this year because of the scheme. Change, sure,
- 2:08:58Speaker 1: yeah and because of that potential. Health but again we're
- 2:09:01Speaker 1: playing the. Again if we're gonna mauddy it by doing
- 2:09:04Speaker 1: projection and scheme that money is the, conversation but purely on. Paper,
- 2:09:06Speaker 1: yeah it's twenty twenty five because you, know you knew
- 2:09:09Speaker 1: Granted bernard got, hurt but you knew What Trel bernard,
- 2:09:12Speaker 1: was or he thought you. Did at least you knew
- 2:09:15Speaker 1: What Matt malana, was and you knew What Shack thompson.
- 2:09:18Speaker 1: Was right and, fat that's a solid top. Three now
- 2:09:21Speaker 1: you're going To Terrell, Bernard Dorian, williams who's never been
- 2:09:25Speaker 1: a full time starter and the only time he has
- 2:09:28Speaker 1: started it is because guys have been. Hurt Uh and then,
- 2:09:31Speaker 1: yeah behind, him is it e or is It Joanne?
- 2:09:36Speaker 1: Dreesen like that's kind of. Scary you, know If bernard goes,
- 2:09:42Speaker 1: down It's eor And Dorian, williams and like that could be,
- 2:09:45Speaker 1: sweet it could also be. Scary, YEAH i THINK i
- 2:09:49Speaker 1: think it's twenty twenty. Five just from a known quantity,
- 2:09:51Speaker 1: STANDPOINT i would love the kind Of joe's comments. Earlier he,
- 2:09:56Speaker 1: Said i'd really like shat. Back, yeah it would.
- 2:09:59Speaker 2: Change it might change my, answer to be totally, honest.
- 2:10:02Speaker 1: Because even what he said to twenty twenty, five and he,
- 2:10:03Speaker 1: said but you, know get me one More, vet AND
- 2:10:05Speaker 1: i could be. Swayed if they were to bring Back Shaq.
- 2:10:07Speaker 1: THOMPSON i would feel significantly better about twenty twenty. SIX
- 2:10:14Speaker 1: i probably still give this light edge to twenty twenty
- 2:10:17Speaker 1: five just because this year's top three would Be Bernard Shack.
- 2:10:22Speaker 1: Dornyan last year's Was Bernard Milano, shack AND i think
- 2:10:26Speaker 1: that's still somewhat of a known quantity or not even
- 2:10:28Speaker 1: it is a no. Quantity dornian, still as much as
- 2:10:31Speaker 1: we may, hope is still PROJECTION e or is very
- 2:10:34Speaker 1: much one hundred percent. Projection SO i think you have
- 2:10:38Speaker 1: to go twenty twenty, five WHICH i don't love saying
- 2:10:42Speaker 1: that this is the position Group i've talked so much
- 2:10:44Speaker 1: about int your defensive line in the front linebacker was
- 2:10:47Speaker 1: one THAT i really expected. MORE i expected more dynamic
- 2:10:53Speaker 1: skill sets to be. ADDED i expected a A Leo
- 2:10:55Speaker 1: shanal A cayden ellis a you, know somebody who off,
- 2:11:00Speaker 1: ball blitz, downhill, thumper walk down and man on the
- 2:11:04Speaker 1: line of, scrimmage can also line up as an edge
- 2:11:07Speaker 1: in an even front and rush one on one against a.
- 2:11:09Speaker 1: Tackle you, know a little more of The wisconsin flavor
- 2:11:12Speaker 1: defense stuff That leonard did where it was like Her
- 2:11:14Speaker 1: big and Van ginkel And chanal and these guys, There Zach,
- 2:11:20Speaker 1: bahn like all these types of. GUYS i thought we'd
- 2:11:23Speaker 1: get more of, that or at LEAST i hoped we.
- 2:11:25Speaker 1: Did they did. Not it's very much just kind of
- 2:11:28Speaker 1: the same lineback and corred that they had last, year
- 2:11:30Speaker 1: Minus shaq And. Milano SO i think he goes twenty twenty.
- 2:11:32Speaker 1: Five BUT i do think the Scheme chaine scheme change
- 2:11:36Speaker 1: Gives bernard a, boost and if he stays, healthy he
- 2:11:38Speaker 1: could see a major uptick in production anything else.
- 2:11:43Speaker 4: Onlinebacker so you don't see as much versatility with alarms.
- 2:11:47Speaker 1: OR i think there's potential for, it BUT i Just
- 2:11:50Speaker 1: i've never seen it in the NFL's practical. APPLICATION i
- 2:11:54Speaker 1: like him as a. PLAYER i like the hand, USAGE
- 2:11:56Speaker 1: i like the, SPEED i like the MOVEMENT i have
- 2:11:59Speaker 1: more questions for him THAT i think other folks do
- 2:12:02Speaker 1: at this. Point LIKE i liked him where they got.
- 2:12:05Speaker 1: Him he was AGAIN i HATE i hate to say
- 2:12:08Speaker 1: this because mock draft's holding no, weight but he was
- 2:12:11Speaker 1: a guy in every mock DRAFT i did. That if
- 2:12:13Speaker 1: he was there in like the fourth or, FIFTH i was,
- 2:12:14Speaker 1: like great value And i'd select it every, time LIKE
- 2:12:17Speaker 1: i take him every single. Time, YEAH i do think
- 2:12:21Speaker 1: s capability some walk down ed man on the line
- 2:12:23Speaker 1: of scrimmage, stuff can play the, run can blitz because
- 2:12:26Speaker 1: of his. Speed he can cover and match up on,
- 2:12:28Speaker 1: guys match coverage, stuff man coverage. STUFF i just think
- 2:12:32Speaker 1: the feel and zone coverage isn't there right. Now, Yes
- 2:12:36Speaker 1: AND i don't think for his physical of a guy
- 2:12:39Speaker 1: as he's talked as he gets talked.
- 2:12:40Speaker 4: ABOUT i don't think he's like a. Thumper OH i
- 2:12:43Speaker 4: didn't see that.
- 2:12:44Speaker 1: Either, No like he's physical in terms of like he
- 2:12:47Speaker 1: uses his hands and he sheds and he. MOVES i
- 2:12:49Speaker 1: love that he stays. SQUARE i love how he's always
- 2:12:51Speaker 1: like compacting his lower body and moves and his squatty
- 2:12:54Speaker 1: and as like the thick lower body and. Frame i'm
- 2:12:58Speaker 1: hopeful for, him but he's just he's just complete projection.
- 2:13:02Speaker 4: Because we he he's projection right, Now, okay, okay the
- 2:13:05Speaker 4: way you initially talked about, HIM i was, like, oh
- 2:13:07Speaker 4: he kind of sounds lower THAN i thought you would
- 2:13:08Speaker 4: be on this. Guy but, yeah, no, no, no you're just
- 2:13:11Speaker 4: he's a. Rookie he's a fourth round. Rookie we gotta
- 2:13:13Speaker 4: wait and.
- 2:13:14Speaker 1: See if you told me right, now, like, okay someone's
- 2:13:17Speaker 1: got to play meaningful snaps for you in twenty twenty,
- 2:13:19Speaker 1: six and your options are e Or milano Or. Shack
- 2:13:24Speaker 1: i'm gonna Take milana Or shack BECAUSE i know these
- 2:13:26Speaker 1: guys have started in THE. NFL i know what they're
- 2:13:28Speaker 1: gonna give, me el arms or could be. Better he
- 2:13:31Speaker 1: could also be like way, Worse AND i don't want
- 2:13:33Speaker 1: to play that game of LIKE i don't know what
- 2:13:35Speaker 1: he's gonna.
- 2:13:35Speaker 2: Be, okay fair, Enough, yeah all?
- 2:13:38Speaker 1: Right anything else on.
- 2:13:40Speaker 2: Linebacker, no, no, No i'm good on.
- 2:13:42Speaker 1: Linebacker cornerback last year essentially a very very similar group
- 2:13:48Speaker 1: kind of, well actually there's some decent. Changes Brandon codrigton
- 2:13:53Speaker 1: who counts as the corner But Max Harriston Dame jackson
- 2:13:56Speaker 1: will include The nickels in this So Dan, Jackson Taron,
- 2:13:59Speaker 1: Johnson Avius, White Christian, Benford Dorrian, Strong Bill's Waiver wire
- 2:14:04Speaker 1: Legend JaMarcus ingram Cam lewis will throw in there as.
- 2:14:10Speaker 1: Well this. Year for The bill's, defense we are looking
- 2:14:13Speaker 1: At Christian, Benford Max, Hairston, Davison igbanosen technically in, Theory Dorian,
- 2:14:20Speaker 1: Strong Torriano Pride, Junior Darryl Porter, junior and Then bill's Legend,
- 2:14:29Speaker 1: alford who we talked about. Earlier and then you can
- 2:14:30Speaker 1: throw it To Corey couch in. There if you want
- 2:14:32Speaker 1: to Throw Jordan hancock in, It, nicol you probably should
- 2:14:34Speaker 1: now because it looks like safety isn't going to be
- 2:14:36Speaker 1: the spot for. Him corner twenty twenty five or twenty twenty.
- 2:14:41Speaker 2: Six you, KNOW.
- 2:14:45Speaker 4: I had twenty twenty six, initially And i'm starting to
- 2:14:48Speaker 4: entertain twenty twenty five a little bit. More BUT I
- 2:14:53Speaker 4: i Think i'm gonna land twenty twenty six and just
- 2:14:55Speaker 4: give it the caveat of. Light this is a lot
- 2:14:57Speaker 4: closer THAN i initially thought.
- 2:14:58Speaker 1: It, WAS, Ok.
- 2:15:01Speaker 2: AND i think a lot of that is really Just Trey.
- 2:15:03Speaker 4: WHITE i really do think a lot of that is
- 2:15:05Speaker 4: just How Trey white played last.
- 2:15:07Speaker 2: Year was really.
- 2:15:08Speaker 4: SOLID i know he started, slow but he really came
- 2:15:11Speaker 4: around and Then, YEAH i think ultimately landing on twenty
- 2:15:16Speaker 4: six for me comes down, TO i mean a lot
- 2:15:19Speaker 4: of the projection it.
- 2:15:20Speaker 2: IS i, mean that's the.
- 2:15:22Speaker 4: Reality like all of these defensive conversations are going to
- 2:15:25Speaker 4: be very projection based because of all the defensive editions
- 2:15:28Speaker 4: that were made and then obviously this game. Change BUT
- 2:15:32Speaker 4: i think they're so, young there's a lot more depth
- 2:15:36Speaker 4: than there. WAS i, mean it's weird because last, year
- 2:15:40Speaker 4: like there was depth Before Dorian's strong.
- 2:15:43Speaker 1: Injury it's weird because like so this year you have
- 2:15:47Speaker 1: the projection of you, Know Davis, enigmuinosen but last year
- 2:15:52Speaker 1: you had the projection Of Max Harston harrison exactly and
- 2:15:55Speaker 1: you had the projection Of Dorian. Strong, yeah So i'm
- 2:15:59Speaker 1: very like this ONE i CALLED i called a push
- 2:16:01Speaker 1: BECAUSE i didn't like AND i think you could make
- 2:16:04Speaker 1: the case either. Way but, like, yeah because now YOUR
- 2:16:07Speaker 1: cb two this year in, theory right Is Max, hairston
- 2:16:11Speaker 1: who still is kind of a. PROJECTION i, KNOW i
- 2:16:15Speaker 1: was just gonna sayie with, That so YOUR cb two
- 2:16:19Speaker 1: is somewhat of a projection In Max, hairston even if
- 2:16:22Speaker 1: you like Davison inggbuanosen is YOUR cb. Two he's even
- 2:16:24Speaker 1: more of a. Projection and then after That Dorian strong
- 2:16:31Speaker 1: might not play football ever, again and then It's Daryl
- 2:16:34Speaker 1: Porter junior And Toriano pride j FROM.
- 2:16:38Speaker 4: I will, SAY i wonder how much my hindsight bias
- 2:16:42Speaker 4: of knowing What Taron johnson is now and how great
- 2:16:47Speaker 4: of a season T alford had is. Interesting this FAIR
- 2:16:52Speaker 4: i feel like that is like a big part of
- 2:16:54Speaker 4: this for, me and just generally having a lot of
- 2:16:56Speaker 4: confidence In. Harriston but it's you're, right like it's so
- 2:17:02Speaker 4: it's so. CLOSE i THINK i think a lot of
- 2:17:05Speaker 4: the youth in this room is really what's what's driving
- 2:17:10Speaker 4: me to say twenty twenty six and kind of playing
- 2:17:14Speaker 4: back to that point on being so match up, based
- 2:17:18Speaker 4: like we can really play to whatever wide receiver corps
- 2:17:20Speaker 4: you're playing that.
- 2:17:22Speaker 2: Week with the twenty twenty six roster versus.
- 2:17:26Speaker 4: What we had in twenty twenty five Was, okay if
- 2:17:30Speaker 4: you have a bigger, guy we can we can Put
- 2:17:32Speaker 4: benfort on, him and if you got a, smaller shifty,
- 2:17:35Speaker 4: guy it's gonna be Either hairston Or.
- 2:17:36Speaker 2: White now you.
- 2:17:38Speaker 1: Oh you got two big you've got two big. Guys
- 2:17:40Speaker 1: oh we're, Out yeah.
- 2:17:41Speaker 4: Exactly but now it's, like, oh you have two big,
- 2:17:43Speaker 4: guys like we can match up with. That oh you
- 2:17:46Speaker 4: have one, shifty you have one, big we can match
- 2:17:48Speaker 4: up with. That now if they have two shifty we
- 2:17:51Speaker 4: can't match up with. It but not a lot of
- 2:17:53Speaker 4: teams have.
- 2:17:54Speaker 1: That what scares me a little this year of like
- 2:17:56Speaker 1: the twenty twenty six aspect is you don't like So,
- 2:18:00Speaker 1: Benford hairston and Again harston is STILL.
- 2:18:02Speaker 2: I don't know halflight slight projection for, sure.
- 2:18:05Speaker 1: Right Davisonning banosan all? Projection and then after Davisending, banosan
- 2:18:12Speaker 1: WHO'S c?
- 2:18:12Speaker 2: Before, yeah there's still a depth is it?
- 2:18:15Speaker 1: Now? TECHNICALLY i wonder IS c before on the outside D? Alford?
- 2:18:24Speaker 1: Mm if push might be? Right or, like is it
- 2:18:29Speaker 1: is there break glass in case of emergency? Card, like,
- 2:18:32Speaker 1: hey if those dudes get banged, up d you're going
- 2:18:36Speaker 1: to the outside and then we're going big nickel all.
- 2:18:38Speaker 1: Day like it's not an ideal, situation but that's what it.
- 2:18:41Speaker 1: Is BECAUSE i don't see no disrespect to. Anyone and
- 2:18:47Speaker 1: again a lot of this Is Dorian strong's. NECK i
- 2:18:50Speaker 1: don't see a world where you're you're AN nfl team
- 2:18:53Speaker 1: and you're. OUTSIDE c before is Either Dorian strong right
- 2:18:56Speaker 1: now at this stage or his Neck Darryl Porter junior
- 2:18:59Speaker 1: Or Toriano. Pride right for a team that talks so
- 2:19:03Speaker 1: much about like corner depth and all this, stuff like
- 2:19:07Speaker 1: you literally don't have A c before right, now Right
- 2:19:11Speaker 1: and SO i THINK i think you're, right it's D, alford,
- 2:19:16Speaker 1: man if you really have to play that Smaller, NICKEL
- 2:19:19Speaker 1: i think IT'S i think It's hancock. Fair, yeah and
- 2:19:22Speaker 1: Then hancock goes And nickel d goes, outside like BECAUSE
- 2:19:24Speaker 1: i just don't See nichol stays exactly the same As
- 2:19:27Speaker 1: isa same because what do you, do like right now
- 2:19:31Speaker 1: If harston Or benford goes down Or igbinosen because those
- 2:19:34Speaker 1: are the top, three right YOUR cb three Is Dorian
- 2:19:39Speaker 1: strong in a neck, Brace Daryl Porter junior Or Torriano
- 2:19:42Speaker 1: pride that that that can't happen right. Now like so
- 2:19:49Speaker 1: my thought, is, okay D alford is. Corn but again
- 2:19:51Speaker 1: that that all to funnel that into our. CONVERSATION i
- 2:19:56Speaker 1: know people don't Like Dan, jackson and now we're gonna
- 2:19:58Speaker 1: have the hindsight conversation of what happened In denver. Game
- 2:20:00Speaker 1: but like you at least, knew, like, Okay, benford you,
- 2:20:04Speaker 1: Know Trey Dane. Hairston there was more answers in the
- 2:20:08Speaker 1: top four last. Year you may not have loved, them
- 2:20:11Speaker 1: but you at least had some semblance of an. Answer now,
- 2:20:13Speaker 1: again if we're playing the if we're playing the projection,
- 2:20:15Speaker 1: game YEAH i would take twenty twenty. Six but my
- 2:20:19Speaker 1: whole point with this and WHY i called it a
- 2:20:21Speaker 1: push was just like really looking at it and being
- 2:20:25Speaker 1: LIKE cb four is kind of, scary and then like
- 2:20:29Speaker 1: again corners get hurt and being even talked about, it like,
- 2:20:32Speaker 1: oh you know we had corners that down at the
- 2:20:34Speaker 1: end of the year because and also corners get hurt
- 2:20:35Speaker 1: all the. Time THAT c before can BECOME cb three
- 2:20:39Speaker 1: in a quick. Hurry and but what you don't really
- 2:20:41Speaker 1: have A c, Before so that means you don't have
- 2:20:42Speaker 1: A cb three if somebody goes down up, top so
- 2:20:45Speaker 1: it's gotta be D. Alford but again that speaks TO
- 2:20:48Speaker 1: i think some of the, scariness and so it's, Like,
- 2:20:51Speaker 1: okay how do you weigh that versus, yeah this is
- 2:20:54Speaker 1: a good point here from uh FROM mp see six
- 2:20:57Speaker 1: me here you know the rules were more defined last, year,
- 2:21:00Speaker 1: yes and even if you didn't love the, player there
- 2:21:04Speaker 1: there was some semblance of a floor and you knew
- 2:21:06Speaker 1: kind of you could get some usefulness out of. That
- 2:21:09Speaker 1: this year it's, like oh and, yeah to Our j's,
- 2:21:12Speaker 1: point you, know if, like if they Signed Trey white right,
- 2:21:14Speaker 1: Now i'm, cool, Golden i'm golden all, day then your
- 2:21:18Speaker 1: top four Is, Benford, Hairston Trey igbinosin or whatever. COMBINATION
- 2:21:23Speaker 1: i don't. Care i'm, Golden i'm. Cool but, yeah Ce
- 2:21:27Speaker 1: before right now is, scary and Cee before again can
- 2:21:30Speaker 1: turn INTO cb three in a hit, one and so that's, like,
- 2:21:34Speaker 1: okay well it's got to be D. Alford but then,
- 2:21:36Speaker 1: yeah that's WHY i called it a push Because i'm, like,
- 2:21:39Speaker 1: oh it's twenty twenty. Six but Then i'm, like, OH
- 2:21:42Speaker 1: i actually think it's twenty twenty. Five but Then i'm,
- 2:21:43Speaker 1: like if we're looking at it in, TOTALITY i don't really.
- 2:21:46Speaker 2: Know AND i think that's exactly WHY i almost flip.
- 2:21:50Speaker 2: Flopped is what you're going through, it what you.
- 2:21:52Speaker 1: Said AND i STAYED i went through it and in
- 2:21:55Speaker 1: like the notes of the, episode AND i was, like screw.
- 2:21:57Speaker 1: It i'm just gonna stay with that conversation. Point AND
- 2:21:59Speaker 1: i was, like, oh, Hopefully, kendall hopefully kind of will
- 2:22:01Speaker 1: have some more, concrete but you know, CONVICTION i. Didn't
- 2:22:04Speaker 1: you're in the same boat to.
- 2:22:05Speaker 2: Me i'm in the same, boat LIKE i had.
- 2:22:08Speaker 4: Conviction and THEN i was reading my notes as you
- 2:22:10Speaker 4: were teeing me, up AND i was, LIKE i don't
- 2:22:13Speaker 4: have as much conviction AS i did WHEN i initially
- 2:22:16Speaker 4: wrote these.
- 2:22:16Speaker 1: Notes, YEAH i. CAN'T i think the like even LIKE i.
- 2:22:21Speaker 1: WAS i initially came in thinking of twenty twenty five
- 2:22:24Speaker 1: BECAUSE i knew of, Okay max some projection ignocin full
- 2:22:29Speaker 1: PROJECTION cb. Four but THEN i looked at like twenty
- 2:22:32Speaker 1: twenty five and THEN i was, like, Well max was a.
- 2:22:36Speaker 1: Projection and then Like dane is man TRAY i thought
- 2:22:40Speaker 1: would be a TRAY i loved in, camp AND i was, Like,
- 2:22:42Speaker 1: okay he can actually be a ROTATING cb two or
- 2:22:45Speaker 1: high END cb, three this is. Cool But max was
- 2:22:49Speaker 1: still a, projection although his projection was PROBABLY cb three
- 2:22:53Speaker 1: OR cb. Two Dane, JACKSON i love him or hate,
- 2:22:57Speaker 1: him mostly hate. Him for most, People i'm guessing is
- 2:23:00Speaker 1: a better ce before last year than they had right
- 2:23:03Speaker 1: now than they have right. Now but if it's the,
- 2:23:05Speaker 1: offered that kind of works and is, fine but then
- 2:23:08Speaker 1: that complicates the nickel. Thing so it's all just muddy and. Convoluted,
- 2:23:11Speaker 1: yeah AND i didn't know how to parse, it SO.
- 2:23:15Speaker 4: I just called it a push push on, depth push
- 2:23:20Speaker 4: anything else ON.
- 2:23:20Speaker 1: Cb, no that.
- 2:23:22Speaker 2: STINKS i don't like.
- 2:23:23Speaker 1: That that's what FUN i SHOULD i just put on
- 2:23:27Speaker 1: my nose and should just put LIKE i don't want
- 2:23:28Speaker 1: to answer this.
- 2:23:29Speaker 2: One thank you better THAN idl, Though i'll say. That
- 2:23:32Speaker 2: but that's a low.
- 2:23:33Speaker 1: Bar, YEAH i think that's. Fair, yeah that was a little.
- 2:23:35Speaker 1: Bar safety last Year Darnell. Savage Technically Jordan hancock as,
- 2:23:44Speaker 1: well But Darnell, Savage Jordan hancock also maybe some Cam
- 2:23:48Speaker 1: lewis H Tamar, Hamlin Jordan, Poyer Taylor, Rapp, Cole, Bishop
- 2:23:56Speaker 1: Sam franklin largely special teamer this, Year Safety Group Cole,
- 2:24:01Speaker 1: Bishop Chauncey, Gardner, Johnson Geno, Stone Jalen, Kilgore Mar, Hamlin Sam,
- 2:24:09Speaker 1: Franklin junior Safety. Kendo where you.
- 2:24:12Speaker 4: At it's probably the easiest one on the entire. Defense
- 2:24:16Speaker 4: BUT i agree twenty. Six, yeah there's, depth there's still
- 2:24:23Speaker 4: special teams. Players, Yep Like Geno stone's gonna have a
- 2:24:27Speaker 4: tough time trying to make this roster. Now it seems, like,
- 2:24:31Speaker 4: WELL i want to have a harder time making this roster.
- 2:24:35Speaker 4: Now but, yeah like, yeah you think about what it
- 2:24:37Speaker 4: started as last, year and you're essentially replacing any combination
- 2:24:42Speaker 4: Of poyer and rap FOR.
- 2:24:44Speaker 2: Cj, Gardner johnson And Jalen.
- 2:24:46Speaker 1: KILGORE i take it every time you could have you
- 2:24:51Speaker 1: could just Have Cole bishop and And chauncey AND i
- 2:24:54Speaker 1: would take that over the entirety of the safety. Group last,
- 2:24:56Speaker 1: year you could have no other safeties on the roster
- 2:24:58Speaker 1: AND i would.
- 2:24:58Speaker 2: Just oh, yeah just be top. Hev, yeah, yeah that's.
- 2:25:01Speaker 1: It. Yeah Gino stone is. INTERESTING i don't love, him
- 2:25:06Speaker 1: but like if we're going, yeah and if we're going Big,
- 2:25:10Speaker 1: nickel maybe he gives you like seven to eleven snaps a,
- 2:25:14Speaker 1: game the kind of matter and a guy who tends
- 2:25:17Speaker 1: to find himself in the right place at the right.
- 2:25:18Speaker 1: Time we don't let him try to tackle anyone, ever
- 2:25:21Speaker 1: and we don't try to put him in any spot
- 2:25:24Speaker 1: where his lack of athleticism or foot speed can be an.
- 2:25:27Speaker 1: Issue so he is. Limited but guy who can kind
- 2:25:31Speaker 1: of be at the right place at the right. Time, okay,
- 2:25:33Speaker 1: fine and, yeah and who knows he could lose out
- 2:25:37Speaker 1: To Jalen. Kilbour that's, fine honestly to everybody would probably,
- 2:25:40Speaker 1: YELL i don't Hate Deamar hamlin as like safety three
- 2:25:44Speaker 1: or safety. FOUR i don't want to see him on
- 2:25:46Speaker 1: the field In Big. Nickel but if he's like a
- 2:25:48Speaker 1: true depth Safety Cole bishop Or chauncey went, Down i'll
- 2:25:53Speaker 1: start Tomorrow hamlin for a game or. TWO i don't love,
- 2:25:56Speaker 1: it but, okay that's. Fine and, yeah that might not
- 2:25:59Speaker 1: even happen With done Or hamlin If Jalen kilgore is the,
- 2:26:02Speaker 1: truth which is also a. Possibility BUT i think the
- 2:26:05Speaker 1: pairing Of bishop and And chauncey, again this Is i'm
- 2:26:10Speaker 1: not even getting into the scheme aspect Of Jim, leonard
- 2:26:12Speaker 1: WHICH i think amplifies the safety room that much. More
- 2:26:17Speaker 1: even if this Was sean McDermott's, DEFENSE i like the
- 2:26:20Speaker 1: pairing Of chauncey And bishop so much more Than bishop And, Rap, like,
- 2:26:24Speaker 1: yeah it's just so much. Better their skill, sets how
- 2:26:27Speaker 1: they compliment each, other how you can also interchange. Them
- 2:26:31Speaker 1: that alone is enough for me to say, yeah one
- 2:26:33Speaker 1: thousand and then, Yeah Jalen, kilgore legend of my college
- 2:26:39Speaker 1: football twenty four dynasty team that went back to back
- 2:26:41Speaker 1: with The natty always have a special place in my,
- 2:26:44Speaker 1: heart and did some fun stuff on. TAPE i, yeah this,
- 2:26:47Speaker 1: safety this safety room is just With chauncey. Alone Immediately i'm, like,
- 2:26:53Speaker 1: oh it's. Better and then they also do have some
- 2:26:54Speaker 1: functional depth after. It and if if Kil gore is,
- 2:26:58Speaker 1: anything it's a cherry on top and it's hands down even.
- 2:27:01Speaker 4: More kilgore is like the funnest part of honestly the
- 2:27:06Speaker 4: whole draft for, me BECAUSE i mean there's just so
- 2:27:10Speaker 4: much endless possibility of what he could. BECOME i JUST
- 2:27:15Speaker 4: i really hope he has time to develop and he's
- 2:27:18Speaker 4: not asked to do much more than just a specific
- 2:27:21Speaker 4: role in year, one and you know, whatever if injuries,
- 2:27:25Speaker 4: happened injuries, Happened BUT i hope he doesn't get forced
- 2:27:28Speaker 4: onto the field for really meaningful stuff into like week eight.
- 2:27:32Speaker 1: Ish, yeah he needs to. Marinate they need to let
- 2:27:35Speaker 1: him simmer and cook a little bit and play a defined.
- 2:27:39Speaker 4: Role, again this is WHO i want him on the
- 2:27:42Speaker 4: field a little. Bit but like like you, said defined role. Early,
- 2:27:47Speaker 4: yes there there needs to be.
- 2:27:54Speaker 1: Some semblance of like some bumpers for him on the
- 2:27:57Speaker 1: lane this, year and again especially considering like the, heavy
- 2:28:01Speaker 1: heavy majority of his college snaps were as a box
- 2:28:04Speaker 1: safety or a big nickel or like an apex slot,
- 2:28:07Speaker 1: defender like he was Not oh, yeah you, Know i'm
- 2:28:10Speaker 1: playing split field in quarters Or cover two And i'm
- 2:28:12Speaker 1: the single high post safety in this In cover one
- 2:28:15Speaker 1: Or cover, three like so he needs he needs to
- 2:28:18Speaker 1: see the field from depth and read it and then
- 2:28:22Speaker 1: also you, know angles to the ball in the run
- 2:28:24Speaker 1: and in the, past reading route combinations and route distributions and. Playing,
- 2:28:29Speaker 1: Yeah I'm i'm excited to see what he. Does the
- 2:28:32Speaker 1: preseason is gonna be fun just because like he'll probably
- 2:28:34Speaker 1: get a ton of burn on that, Defense LIKE i
- 2:28:37Speaker 1: don't Anticipate bishop Bishoping chauncey aren't gonna get a ton
- 2:28:40Speaker 1: of preseason. Snaps Kill gore is probably playing like two
- 2:28:44Speaker 1: to three quarters every single game at.
- 2:28:46Speaker 4: Safety, probably which is really they built this room out
- 2:28:49Speaker 4: really well for preseason now That i'm looking.
- 2:28:51Speaker 1: At, yes it's a fun preseason. ROOM i will take you,
- 2:28:54Speaker 1: Know Jaylen kilgore getting those reps at safety.
- 2:28:56Speaker 2: NonStop if Ginos stones should be helpful to.
- 2:28:59Speaker 1: Right Even, yeah Kill Goren hamlin kill Gorn stone in the? Preseason, fine,
- 2:29:03Speaker 1: cool why not let's see what we? Get, yeah, YEAH
- 2:29:07Speaker 1: i like the safety. ROOM i think it's intriguing top,
- 2:29:10Speaker 1: down and then you get some fun aspects from a
- 2:29:13Speaker 1: standpoint With. Kilgore anything else on, Safety.
- 2:29:16Speaker 2: No that's it for safety and fun. Group i'm excited
- 2:29:19Speaker 2: for that change.
- 2:29:20Speaker 1: Over i'm gonna edit the last. Banner special. Teams how
- 2:29:26Speaker 1: do we feel for the bill of special teams this?
- 2:29:29Speaker 4: Year?
- 2:29:30Speaker 1: Again you've got your you, Know Sam franklin is still.
- 2:29:33Speaker 1: There but you, KNOW i know a lot of people
- 2:29:36Speaker 1: are gonna mainly hear special teams and, think, Oh putter
- 2:29:39Speaker 1: and kicker. Situation last year multiple. Kickers Matt prater was
- 2:29:44Speaker 1: really like your, kicker but you know it With, Bass
- 2:29:46Speaker 1: Prader Michael badgeley gets like a roster cred for them as.
- 2:29:51Speaker 1: Well now you're sitting here looking at a kicking aspect
- 2:29:56Speaker 1: of Just Tyler. Bass we'll see what happens with. Him
- 2:29:59Speaker 1: and Then, Punter you've Got Tommy, Domont you've Got mitchellsnowski behind.
- 2:30:02Speaker 1: Him we'll see what happens with punt return kick return last.
- 2:30:05Speaker 1: Year of, Course Ray Davis All pro kick, returner looks
- 2:30:09Speaker 1: like he should be able to reprise that role once.
- 2:30:11Speaker 1: Again we'll see what we get from a punt returning
- 2:30:13Speaker 1: aspect in terms of who fills, in and again you
- 2:30:15Speaker 1: still have you, know gone are the days of the
- 2:30:18Speaker 1: special team aces across the board where The bills had
- 2:30:21Speaker 1: like three or four of. Them now it's really Like
- 2:30:23Speaker 1: Sam franklin and then a bunch of athletes across the.
- 2:30:26Speaker 1: Board but how do you feel about speial? Teams would
- 2:30:27Speaker 1: you take the twenty twenty six crew or the twenty
- 2:30:30Speaker 1: twenty five.
- 2:30:30Speaker 4: GROUP i kind of feel Like i'm leaning twenty twenty
- 2:30:35Speaker 4: six because of some of the, Rookies like from an athleticism,
- 2:30:39Speaker 4: PERSPECTIVE i kind of feel, like like on kicking punt,
- 2:30:43Speaker 4: coverage there's just a little bit more upside there specifically
- 2:30:47Speaker 4: on those two, Teams but if you're talking about specific,
- 2:30:50Speaker 4: specialists it feels like it might be a wash or
- 2:30:57Speaker 4: even like a.
- 2:30:59Speaker 2: DOWNGRADE i, mean.
- 2:31:01Speaker 1: There's something to be said for we don't know what
- 2:31:06Speaker 1: version of bass we're gonna.
- 2:31:07Speaker 4: Get, exactly and we don't know If doman's gonna be
- 2:31:11Speaker 4: better Than wishnowski.
- 2:31:12Speaker 2: Correct and we don't even know who the punt returner
- 2:31:14Speaker 2: is gonna.
- 2:31:15Speaker 1: Be, Correct and you Know prater was actually a pretty
- 2:31:20Speaker 1: good kicker last.
- 2:31:20Speaker 2: Year, yeah so.
- 2:31:24Speaker 1: YEAH i it was so funny BECAUSE i was, like
- 2:31:26Speaker 1: AM i really gonna have this conversation about special? Teams
- 2:31:28Speaker 1: AS i was like putting in my, NOTES I i'm
- 2:31:32Speaker 1: gonna give it to twenty twenty six because of the
- 2:31:36Speaker 1: overall special teams. Nature to your point, AGAIN i know
- 2:31:38Speaker 1: we've talked about projection and this and, that BUT i do.
- 2:31:41Speaker 4: Think teams are gonna be so much more.
- 2:31:47Speaker 1: Athletic, Yeah and it's like even though it's, like oh it's,
- 2:31:49Speaker 1: projection it's still special teams like just go go be
- 2:31:52Speaker 1: athletic and yeah and violent like that translates that should be.
- 2:31:55Speaker 1: Fine SO i do think from a coverage unit, STANDPOINT
- 2:31:59Speaker 1: i like twenty twenty six the specialist is WHERE i
- 2:32:01Speaker 1: have the question in. Theory Tyler bass is, Healthy he's
- 2:32:06Speaker 1: back to pre Injury Tyler, bass but is he really? Healthy?
- 2:32:11Speaker 1: Also does he have the yips still where he can't
- 2:32:14Speaker 1: like make.
- 2:32:14Speaker 2: King you said it like you're not supposed to say.
- 2:32:19Speaker 1: It i'm, Sorry, okay does he have the, yips, LIKE
- 2:32:22Speaker 1: i don't know if he. Does why is this what to?
- 2:32:24Speaker 2: You you're not supposed to say? Yips? Man why not
- 2:32:29Speaker 2: makes it?
- 2:32:29Speaker 1: Worse does? It But i'm just gonna confronting, it and
- 2:32:33Speaker 1: Now i'm fighting it in the.
- 2:32:34Speaker 2: Light it makes it easier for you to.
- 2:32:37Speaker 1: Watch but it's still, no that makes it, Worse like
- 2:32:40Speaker 1: it's that it's you, know we're not doing he who
- 2:32:41Speaker 1: must not be, named just Say, voldemort stop giving his
- 2:32:44Speaker 1: name power. Man we gotta we gotta show that he
- 2:32:46Speaker 1: doesn't have that control over.
- 2:32:48Speaker 2: Us, yeah, yeah, yeah well.
- 2:32:49Speaker 1: Yeah what version of bass do we? Get in? Theory
- 2:32:52Speaker 1: doman is sick and he locks down the job for
- 2:32:54Speaker 1: several years and we don't have questions At, Punter BUT
- 2:32:56Speaker 1: i don't. Know maybe he's a. Nightmare SO i think
- 2:32:59Speaker 1: there's questions at the. Specialists i'm gonna call it a
- 2:33:04Speaker 1: push because the specialists are very important to special, teams,
- 2:33:08Speaker 1: Right BUT i think the potential for twenty twenty six is.
- 2:33:10Speaker 1: Higher and if you forced me to pick, WHEN i
- 2:33:13Speaker 1: would pick twenty twenty.
- 2:33:14Speaker 4: SIX i agree that the coverage unit specifically is like
- 2:33:18Speaker 4: what would push me to twenty twenty?
- 2:33:19Speaker 2: Six but the.
- 2:33:20Speaker 4: Specialists, yeah They're they're very, important AND i just don't
- 2:33:24Speaker 4: know What i'm getting for my specialists this.
- 2:33:26Speaker 1: Year, YEAH i mean the covered units can be, great
- 2:33:28Speaker 1: but if we don't have a kicker who can make
- 2:33:29Speaker 1: a freaking, kick that's a pig. Problem and then if
- 2:33:32Speaker 1: we have a kicker who can't make a kick and
- 2:33:33Speaker 1: a punter who's wildly, inconsistent those are both very. Bad
- 2:33:38Speaker 1: or you could just go for it on fourth down
- 2:33:39Speaker 1: every time and never worry about either.
- 2:33:41Speaker 2: Kicker i'm, down that's.
- 2:33:43Speaker 1: Fair why? Not My South carolina dynasty did them multiple?
- 2:33:47Speaker 2: TIMES i will ask, you Kill? Gore did you have
- 2:33:50Speaker 2: them in the?
- 2:33:50Speaker 1: Slot what do you? Mean oh like for The?
- 2:33:53Speaker 4: Bills, no for your your? Dynasty were you were you?
- 2:33:57Speaker 4: Like oh, yeah The nickel or.
- 2:33:59Speaker 1: D, yeah but only because SO i HAD i Had
- 2:34:01Speaker 1: em And. Worry uh that first year m And Worry
- 2:34:04Speaker 1: and ACTUALLY i Played kilgore a decent amount as like
- 2:34:08Speaker 1: a true safety year one along With em And. Worry
- 2:34:11Speaker 1: but they had another SAFETY i. Forget But i'm big
- 2:34:15Speaker 1: into like THE dB, Aspect michael. RECRUITING i always started.
- 2:34:18Speaker 1: There my first, YEAR i got the number one corner
- 2:34:24Speaker 1: in the. Class this is sick and you know HOW i, played,
- 2:34:27Speaker 1: RIGHT i blitzed all day man. Coverage so the number
- 2:34:29Speaker 1: one corner was this like man coverage based corner some like,
- 2:34:34Speaker 1: uh some white kid out of like close To South,
- 2:34:37Speaker 1: carolina WHICH i was, like the normal corner. Prospect is this?
- 2:34:40Speaker 1: WHAT i was, like, okay, whatever but he wanted to come, There,
- 2:34:43Speaker 1: yeah AND i just went hard at, him got him,
- 2:34:45Speaker 1: Uh and THEN i got two really good safeties rookie
- 2:34:50Speaker 1: my freshman or my first. YEAR i should say as
- 2:34:52Speaker 1: well THAT i then started as true freshman the next
- 2:34:57Speaker 1: year and bumped him. Down and THEN i bumped Kill. Gory,
- 2:34:59Speaker 1: YEAH i doubt BECAUSE i. WAS i was. NOT i
- 2:35:02Speaker 1: don't know. HOW i. WISH i WISH i could go
- 2:35:04Speaker 1: back and like look at like the analytics of. IT i,
- 2:35:08Speaker 1: called LIKE i called blitzes to stop the run and
- 2:35:11Speaker 1: against the. PASS i would say easily like sixty five
- 2:35:14Speaker 1: seventy was worthy true freshman.
- 2:35:17Speaker 4: Safeties were they hybrid safeties so they could actually man?
- 2:35:20Speaker 1: Up, yes they had good coverage, ability they could play
- 2:35:23Speaker 1: zone coverage where they could man cover as. Well both
- 2:35:25Speaker 1: of them had speed in the low nineties when they started,
- 2:35:29Speaker 1: out so each one was like ninety one one was
- 2:35:31Speaker 1: ninety one, yes AND i was, like, oh they're starting.
- 2:35:35Speaker 1: Down is that that's? Good their tackling was, fine but
- 2:35:41Speaker 1: THEY i really just leaned, into, Like, okay do they
- 2:35:43Speaker 1: have man coverage, ability, speed and can they? TACKLE i
- 2:35:47Speaker 1: looked at those three, things got my two. Safeties one was,
- 2:35:52Speaker 1: needed and we're sending six every. Time that's, it every single.
- 2:35:54Speaker 1: Time you know one of. THEM i think they were
- 2:35:57Speaker 1: both four star. Safeties but the number one CORNER i
- 2:36:00Speaker 1: was five. Star, again number one, corner he was like
- 2:36:03Speaker 1: top ten prospect in the. NATION i also THINK i
- 2:36:09Speaker 1: almost Lost Dylan stewart but he. Stayed but, yeah that uh,
- 2:36:14Speaker 1: man those were wild TIMES i. Won, yeah THAT i
- 2:36:17Speaker 1: was especially ONCE i went up To heisman difficulty or
- 2:36:20Speaker 1: whatever the most difficult one, was and THEN i couldn't
- 2:36:23Speaker 1: run the. Football so everything for me was LIKE i
- 2:36:28Speaker 1: was passing like forty five times a game with sellers
- 2:36:31Speaker 1: and that wide receiver, room and my plan was like
- 2:36:33Speaker 1: it was so not, bootleg but my plan was so
- 2:36:35Speaker 1: LIKE i call the same four pass PLAYS i. Would
- 2:36:40Speaker 1: but that's also WHAT i did In madden and what
- 2:36:41Speaker 1: got me the wins And madden against real life people
- 2:36:43Speaker 1: and the COMPUTER i knew WHAT i, Wanted i'd Go
- 2:36:47Speaker 1: i'd go. Gun i'd go empty, gun three by, two
- 2:36:51Speaker 1: AND i would edit WHO i wanted in each, spot
- 2:36:55Speaker 1: AND i would call the same four, plays and Or
- 2:36:57Speaker 1: i'd go no. Huddle i'd call this one. PLAY i
- 2:37:00Speaker 1: call to play no, huddle even if it was like
- 2:37:02Speaker 1: a six yard, Game i'm going no. Huddle and Then
- 2:37:04Speaker 1: i'd get to the line and i'd ad just all
- 2:37:06Speaker 1: the routes manually based off of WHAT i, did and
- 2:37:09Speaker 1: THEN i would always find. SOMEBODY i had a ton
- 2:37:11Speaker 1: of speed, underneath SO i could hit somebody on a
- 2:37:13Speaker 1: two yard drag and beat someone around the. Corner OR
- 2:37:15Speaker 1: i had guys who could settle in the middle and
- 2:37:17Speaker 1: then worst, yes and then worst, CASE i could scramble With.
- 2:37:21Speaker 1: Sellers BUT i wasn't very good at. THAT i was
- 2:37:23Speaker 1: not good at timing to, scramble moving out of the,
- 2:37:26Speaker 1: pocket beating guys to the. Corner that took me some,
- 2:37:28Speaker 1: time but once that unlocked for, me that was. Game.
- 2:37:33Speaker 1: Yeah sellers was running for like eighty yards a, game
- 2:37:35Speaker 1: passing for like three point.
- 2:37:36Speaker 4: Fifty AND i Was South carolina is a very fun
- 2:37:40Speaker 4: build IN.
- 2:37:40Speaker 1: Twi the uniforms are good the uniforms are. Sick they
- 2:37:44Speaker 1: were like good but not. Amazing their whole initial class
- 2:37:50Speaker 1: was all, senior so you had to rebuild everything after year.
- 2:37:52Speaker 2: One yeah you still have.
- 2:37:53Speaker 1: START i do still Have stewart and, yeah AND i
- 2:37:57Speaker 1: would essentially just Overload stuart's side every, time AND i
- 2:38:00Speaker 1: would do ANYTHING i could to be, Like, okay your
- 2:38:03Speaker 1: tackle has to Block Dylan stewart one on, one good,
- 2:38:05Speaker 1: luck and that was. It and then Either stewart's getting
- 2:38:08Speaker 1: home or someone else is getting Because i'm bringing, yes,
- 2:38:15Speaker 1: Yes Tej, sanders so my dynasty, Legend Yeah i'm. Bringing
- 2:38:20Speaker 1: i'm bringing at least six every single. Time and Then
- 2:38:23Speaker 1: i'd also man. Up i'd user sometimes one of the
- 2:38:27Speaker 1: safeties or one of the, backers and then like If
- 2:38:30Speaker 1: i'm in man coverage with, somebody if THEY i would
- 2:38:34Speaker 1: want to be on the band coverage on the guy
- 2:38:35Speaker 1: THAT i felt like was going to stay in the,
- 2:38:37Speaker 1: block and THEN i would user him and essentially play
- 2:38:40Speaker 1: a robber or like a free runner or free roamer
- 2:38:42Speaker 1: type of deal where Wherever i'm thinking the ball is
- 2:38:44Speaker 1: going to, go usually middle of the field, stuff so
- 2:38:46Speaker 1: like a lurk or a robber. Action but it's not
- 2:38:48Speaker 1: baked into the play. Call it's me just usering it.
- 2:38:53Speaker 1: Does and then WHAT i If i'm calling zone, Coverages
- 2:38:58Speaker 1: i'm rushing three because of TIMES i was getting teams
- 2:39:00Speaker 1: in the third and long Because i'm gunning for everybody
- 2:39:02Speaker 1: so much on.
- 2:39:03Speaker 4: Eat that would work way better against, users, though because
- 2:39:06Speaker 4: from six to, three.
- 2:39:09Speaker 1: Yes and then i'd rush three quarters and or even
- 2:39:14Speaker 1: IF i go cover, three and THEN i would user
- 2:39:16Speaker 1: whoever the nickel was to the passing strength didn't matter
- 2:39:20Speaker 1: if it was to the boundary or to the. Field
- 2:39:22Speaker 1: if it's trips into the, Boundary i'm using the apex
- 2:39:26Speaker 1: player into the boundary every single. Time and THEN i
- 2:39:30Speaker 1: would sit. Him IF i, knew, okay it's third and,
- 2:39:32Speaker 1: eight i would take him and just back him. Up
- 2:39:35Speaker 1: And i'm just sitting right at the sticks you And
- 2:39:37Speaker 1: i'll wait for. EVERYTHING i got mad user picks with Kill,
- 2:39:41Speaker 1: GORE i, think OH i should go.
- 2:39:43Speaker 2: Back you should check if you said the single SEASON.
- 2:39:46Speaker 1: I may have. WON i THINK i wore one the
- 2:39:50Speaker 1: thorpe with Kill gore BECAUSE i had like seven, interceptions
- 2:39:55Speaker 1: like three defensive, touchdowns and then he had like he
- 2:39:58Speaker 1: had like five. Sacks Cause i'm thinking, slotplit, yeah because,
- 2:40:02Speaker 1: Yeah i'm going. Nuts it's essentially LIKE i essentially just
- 2:40:05Speaker 1: Was Brian flores for college, football AND i attacked NonStop
- 2:40:09Speaker 1: BECAUSE i. COULDN'T i. Couldn't zone coverage kept throwing me,
- 2:40:13Speaker 1: off and then some of the match coverage stuff would.
- 2:40:15Speaker 2: Work oh it doesn't work in that.
- 2:40:16Speaker 1: Game. No, yeah and especially for the first one for twenty.
- 2:40:19Speaker 1: Four SO i finally got pissed AND i was, like screw.
- 2:40:20Speaker 1: It lived by the, sword died by the. Sword i'm
