- 0:25urging, tear down this wall to confront the city's
- 0:28division. That bold public challenge galvanized
- 0:32international support for peaceful change and
- 0:35highlighted the power of moral leadership in
- 0:38advancing reunification and democratic ideals.
- 0:42So now you know. And now it's time for the weather

- 3:02alike could be enjoying more chicken soon as
- 3:05a Chick -fil -A is set to open in South Station
- 3:07on Thursday, June 18th. The new location will
- 3:11be situated inside the Dewey Square Transportation
- 3:14Hub at 700 Atlantic Avenue. Chick -fil -A, which
- 3:19hosts more than 19 locations in the wider Boston
- 3:22metro area, will operate from Monday through
- 3:25Saturday from 6 in the morning to 10 at night.
- 3:28As is customary for Chick -fil -A, this restaurant
- 3:31will be closed on Sundays. Stay tuned for more
- 3:35local news and updates right here in Beantown.
- 3:43Now on to sports. South Korea got their World
- 3:47Cup campaign off to a winning start by beating
- 3:50the Czech Republic 2 -1 on Thursday after finally
- 3:54converting some of the many chances they created.
- 3:57Until the 80th -minute mark, it seemed that the
- 4:01Czechs would punish the Koreans' wastefulness,
- 4:03but substituto Hyun -Joo scored the decisive
- 4:06goal in a Guadalajara stadium that was far from
- 4:10full. Son Heung -min's Koreans had dominated
- 4:13the first half but were unable to find the net.
- 4:17An entertaining second half began with the Czechs
- 4:20scoring against the run of play, as Ladislav
- 4:23Kretzy powered a header past Korean goalkeeper
- 4:25Kim Sung -joo. Hwang In -beom finally made the
- 4:30Korean pressure pay with a clever equalizer before
- 4:33assisting Oh's goal. When the final whistle sounded,
- 4:37Sun sank to the turf in joy. South Korea faces
- 4:41co -host Mexico on June 18th. In local sports,
- 4:46the Red Sox are desperate for a win tonight at
- 4:49Fenway. Boston opens a three -game series against
- 4:53Texas at 7 -10 with Sonny Gray taking the mound,
- 4:58and it could not come at a better time. The Sox
- 5:02just got swept in Tampa and sit at 27 -39 with
- 5:06four straight losses. This is the kind of drought
- 5:10that defines seasons. Gray is facing Rangers
- 5:14starter Jack Leiter, and the home crowd should
- 5:16provide some juice for a team that has badly
- 5:19lost its footing. Caleb Durbin had some pop in
- 5:23Wednesday's loss, two homers and a pair of RBIs,
- 5:26but the pitching keeps letting them down. Win
- 5:30tonight and you start a conversation about turning
- 5:32it around. Lose again and the questions get louder.
- 5:37Off the field, Aroldis Chapman has got something
- 5:40to say. The closer told ESPN Deportes he would
- 5:45consider a trade back to the Yankees before August
- 5:483rd, but only if Brian Cashman apologizes first.
- 5:53Chapman has got a bone to pick from 2022 when
- 5:56Cashman left him off the postseason roster. Chapman
- 6:00said someone needs to make amends, and he is
- 6:03willing to listen if they do. He has been outstanding
- 6:06this year with a 0 .46 era and 13 saves. Meanwhile,
- 6:12the Celtics are shaking things up this offseason
- 6:14after their first -round exit. Brad Stevens expects
- 6:18Nikola Vucevic to leave in free agency, and Jalen
- 6:23Brown, his name will likely come up in trade
- 6:25talks before long. In top news, socioeconomic
- 6:31factors are becoming biologically embedded. in
- 6:35children's brains. According to a study in the
- 6:38journal Science, the most powerful influences
- 6:40on brain development involve socioeconomic opportunities.
- 6:45The analysis of more than 2 ,309 in 10 -year
- 6:49-olds revealed that environmental factors linked
- 6:52to household income, education, and neighborhood
- 6:54quality correspond to observable brain differences
- 6:58in MRI scans. Scott Merrick, the study's first
- 7:02author, stated, Something is going on in these
- 7:05neighborhoods. The research emphasizes the significant
- 7:08impact of our environment on brain development.
- 7:11It suggests a re -evaluation of earlier studies
- 7:15that overlooked socioeconomic factors. In business
- 7:20news, SpaceX is officially set for the largest
- 7:24initial public offering on record. Elon Musk's
- 7:28reusable rocket company is raising $75 billion.
- 7:33selling 555 million shares for $130 apiece, according
- 7:39to a filing with the Securities and Exchange
- 7:41Commission. This deal values SpaceX at $1 trillion,
- 7:46making it the seventh most valuable United States
- 7:49company ahead of Tesla. SpaceX's Nasdaq debut
- 7:54is today, and the public will have their first
- 7:56opportunity to invest in the 24 -year -old company.
- 8:01However, betting on SpaceX at this price is largely
- 8:04a wager on Musk, as the company is burning cash
- 8:07and is significantly smaller by revenue than
- 8:10its trillion -dollar peers. In crypto movement,
- 8:14Bitcoin is unchanged for the week at about $63
- 8:18,000. Ethereum is down 1 % to just under $1 ,700.
- 8:25And XRP is down 1%. to $1 .14. Moving on to a
- 8:33more local vibe. In our community spotlight on

- 9:18back to the show. Let's talk science. Ancient
- 9:22squirrel droppings from Arctic permafrost contain
- 9:25fascinating DNA from mammoths, bison, horses,
- 9:29and big cats. Researchers analyzed these prehistoric
- 9:33droppings, revealing a remarkable genetic snapshot
- 9:36of ancient life in Canada's rugged Yukon. Though
- 9:41the genetic material of large creatures was found,
- 9:43the ground squirrels were opportunistic omnivores,
- 9:47consuming a variety of plant material, fungi,
- 9:50and insects. These ancient droppings, dating
- 9:53back around 700 ,000 years, preserve exceptional
- 9:57environmental DNA, offering insights into megafaunal
- 10:01evolution and extinction. The study highlights
- 10:05the unexpected mysteries found in overlooked
- 10:07remains, paving the way for future discoveries.
- 10:13And in entertainment news. Exclusive sources
- 10:17indicate that the first day worldwide of Steven
- 10:20Spielberg's alien feature Disclosure Day is around
- 10:24$12 million. This includes $6 million from overseas
- 10:29markets and $6 million from domestic previews
- 10:33that began at 2 p .m. today. The movie is expected
- 10:37to reach around $65 million worldwide, with approximately
- 10:41$35 million domestically. The Rotten Tomatoes'
- 10:46critical score stands at 82%, higher than Spielberg's
- 10:51War of the Worlds and AI, but lower than Close
- 10:55Encounters of the Third Kind. In the United Kingdom
- 10:58and Ireland, $1 million represents a strong 36
- 11:02% market share, ranking it number one. Well,
- 11:07all righty, folks, it's time for the quote of
- 11:10the day. And today... Our quote comes from the
- 11:14American author and historian, Henry Adams. And
