- 0:04Speaker 1: Hello and welcome to Outspoken. It's your dose of the
- 0:07Speaker 1: hottest influencer and pop culture news twice a week. I'm
- 0:11Speaker 1: Sophie Torber and coming up on today's show, Adele Petropoulos
- 0:15Speaker 1: dramatically calls off her wedding, Tammy Hembrough's psychologist urged her
- 0:19Speaker 1: not to marry Matt Zukowski, Anna McAvoy's torturous travel day
- 0:24Speaker 1: and Steph Clare Smith's postpartum rage. But first, Lily Brown
- 0:29Speaker 1: and Jet Kenny are officially engaged. The former gladiator popped
- 0:32Speaker 1: the question during their holiday in Europe after almost three
- 0:36Speaker 1: years together. I had to do a double take when
- 0:38Speaker 1: I saw this. I was like, is it actually true
- 0:40Speaker 1: this time? Because there's been so many engagement rumours. There's
- 0:43Speaker 1: also been pregnancy rumours which were sparked by Jet Kenny
- 0:46Speaker 1: and some weird post of Lily as an animated egg.
- 0:50Speaker 1: That was bizarre. Well, this is actually true. It's coming
- 0:53Speaker 1: from Lily. She broke the news on her Instagram by
- 0:55Speaker 1: sharing a Lady and the Tramp style video. of her
- 0:58Speaker 1: and Jet eating this piece of pasta and kissing. And
- 1:01Speaker 1: in it, Lily grabs his face to show off this
- 1:04Speaker 1: massive engagement ring. You can't see it that well. It
- 1:06Speaker 1: looks like it's a rectangular diamond, which is refreshing because
- 1:10Speaker 1: I feel like all we've seen lately is oval diamonds.
- 1:12Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with those. I have an oval diamond. Oh,
- 1:14Speaker 1: they are stunning. Now, she captioned the post, that's amore,
- 1:18Speaker 1: and did a ton of emojis. There were crying faces,
- 1:20Speaker 1: love hearts, rings, Italian flags. So they did get engaged
- 1:23Speaker 1: in Italy, it appears. Well, you say appears because we
- 1:26Speaker 1: actually haven't seen the post-out sales because Lily Brown blocked
- 1:29Speaker 1: our accounts on Instagram after that smelly pajama incident. Yeah,
- 1:32Speaker 1: I felt so desperate because someone posted it in the
- 1:35Speaker 1: group and I had to be like, can anyone share
- 1:37Speaker 1: some more details? Send me a screenshot. I don't know
- 1:39Speaker 1: what's happening. Yeah, well, that's where I saw the news
- 1:42Speaker 1: first and I actually didn't know who the people were
- 1:44Speaker 1: because it was a screenshot of the video and I
- 1:46Speaker 1: couldn't see the handle. Yeah, a lot of people in
- 1:48Speaker 1: our Facebook community were also confused. They were saying, I'm
- 1:51Speaker 1: so happy for this couple. This is lovely news, but
- 1:53Speaker 1: all I'm seeing is bald at the moment because Jet
- 1:55Speaker 1: Kenny is rocking a bald head. Yeah, they're like, who
- 1:57Speaker 1: are these people? But once people knew who it was,
- 1:59Speaker 1: there has been a lot of excitement about this engagement.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Lily's post has been absolutely flooded with positive messages and
- 2:06Speaker 1: And she took to her Instagram story to thank her followers.
- 2:09Speaker 1: So she said, thank you all so much for the comments, texts,
- 2:11Speaker 1: et cetera. We're so overwhelmed with the love. We are
- 2:14Speaker 1: very much in the bubble right now. Such a whirlwind
- 2:17Speaker 1: of a week. Genuinely have been waking up every day
- 2:19Speaker 1: since it happened, thinking it was a dream. Can't wait
- 2:21Speaker 1: to share more soon, but for now, soaking it all up.
- 2:24Speaker 1: I wonder if Jet's father, now that they're engaged, will
- 2:28Speaker 1: want them out of the house because they are currently
- 2:30Speaker 1: living with him at the moment. Well, it makes sense.
- 2:32Speaker 1: I mean, Jet had to save up for this beautiful
- 2:34Speaker 1: engagement ring and a trip to Europe.
- 2:37Speaker 2: My bands flew on a flight with all the boys
- 2:41Speaker 2: to go to Vegas today for a box.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Enjoy yourselves, boys.
- 2:45Speaker 2: Have the best time in the fucking universe.
- 2:48Speaker 3: You enjoy.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Okay.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Do you know what this man left me with?
- 2:53Speaker 5: A single fucking egg.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Adele Petropoulos has shocked her followers by announcing she's cancelling
- 3:00Speaker 1: her wedding just three months out from the big day.
- 3:03Speaker 1: In a bid to turn a negative into a positive,
- 3:05Speaker 1: the TikToker is doing a massive wedding giveaway for her followers.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Before we get into the drama, Kate, firstly, who is Adele?
- 3:12Speaker 1: I wasn't actually familiar with Adele before this news broke,
- 3:15Speaker 1: but I am now a massive fan of her. I
- 3:18Speaker 1: was just scrolling her content and laughing so much. I
- 3:21Speaker 1: got so deep into her profile. So she is a
- 3:24Speaker 1: 30-year-old influencer with 158,000 followers on TikTok and 40,000 on Instagram.
- 3:30Speaker 1: She is a makeup artist and Pilates instructor and films
- 3:33Speaker 1: a lot of cooking with me videos. She's just so funny.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I love her takes on things and she speaks a
- 3:39Speaker 1: lot about her Greek heritage. Now she was engaged to Anthony.
- 3:44Speaker 1: She calls him Anther on her profile and they had
- 3:47Speaker 1: been dating since 2020. So they actually met on a
- 3:50Speaker 1: dating app and six weeks into their relationship had to
- 3:53Speaker 1: decide whether they were going to go into lockdown with
- 3:56Speaker 1: each other. And she's pretty big in the influencer space.
- 3:59Speaker 1: She is currently the face of a Maybelline ad. I
- 4:02Speaker 1: wasn't familiar with her content before she called off her
- 4:05Speaker 1: wedding either. And now I just can't get enough of it.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I'm like, this is so engaging and enthralling. Yeah, it
- 4:11Speaker 1: keeps popping up in my algorithm now, which I'm very
- 4:13Speaker 1: thankful for. Now, to give this story more context, I
- 4:16Speaker 1: want to take you back a couple of months. So
- 4:18Speaker 1: in July, Adele's fiance, Anthony, went on a week-long trip
- 4:21Speaker 1: to Vegas with his mates for a Bucks party. Now,
- 4:24Speaker 1: if it wasn't bad enough that Adele's fiance was on
- 4:26Speaker 1: a boy's trip to Vegas, to add insult to injury,
- 4:28Speaker 1: while he was gone, the ceiling in their bedroom of
- 4:31Speaker 1: their apartment started leaking. So poor Adele was forced to
- 4:35Speaker 1: deal with the cleanup and sleep in her makeup room
- 4:38Speaker 1: while it was all being fixed. Of course, it was
- 4:40Speaker 1: fixed just in time for Anthony to get home. Gosh,
- 4:43Speaker 1: can you imagine the text messages going back and forward
- 4:46Speaker 1: on this trip? I would not be pleased. Yeah, well,
- 4:48Speaker 1: she actually shared one of the videos that she sent him.
- 4:50Speaker 1: They had these big industrial fans in there trying to
- 4:53Speaker 1: clear it all up. Now, before Anthony's flight home, he
- 4:56Speaker 1: told Adele that he had a present for her, which
- 4:59Speaker 1: he bought on the last day of the trip. Now,
- 5:01Speaker 1: Adele shared the news to her TikTok followers saying this.
- 5:06Speaker 2: My fiance is in the doghouse. He is in the
- 5:09Speaker 2: woof woof house. I've got to be quick because I've
- 5:11Speaker 2: got to run in and go to go teach my classes.
- 5:12Speaker 5: Okay.
- 5:13Speaker 2: How I know he's in the doghouse. I don't know
- 5:15Speaker 2: why he's in the doghouse yet.
- 5:16Speaker 6: Okay.
- 5:16Speaker 2: Boys are coming back from a week long trip in Vegas.
- 5:19Speaker 7: Okay.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Vegas.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Vegas. Yeah, God knows what happened in Vegas. What happens
- 5:24Speaker 2: in Vegas? Shut the fuck up. Come back home. Right here.
- 5:32Speaker 2: I'm going to hose him down in bleach before he
- 5:34Speaker 2: comes home. He did buy me a present though.
- 5:37Speaker 8: All right.
- 5:37Speaker 3: My theory is the bougie of the present.
- 5:41Speaker 1: What has he done to be sorry for? So she
- 5:46Speaker 1: did pick up on a vibe that something was going
- 5:47Speaker 1: down on this trip. What did he bring back for her? Well,
- 5:50Speaker 1: it wasn't looking good because she unpacked on camera a
- 5:54Speaker 1: designer handbag and she looked pretty shocked when she opened
- 5:57Speaker 1: the parcel and she goes, I'm sorry for ripping into you.
- 6:00Speaker 1: So you could tell that they'd been fighting. And Anthony
- 6:04Speaker 1: said it was also for her upcoming 30th and joked
- 6:06Speaker 1: for Christmas and New Year's too, because this bag retails
- 6:09Speaker 1: for around $ 5, 000. Well, followers began speculating that he must
- 6:13Speaker 1: have done something bad in Vegas off the back of
- 6:16Speaker 1: Adele's original video about him being in the doghouse. So
- 6:19Speaker 1: this gif seemed to spark a lot of conversation. Yeah,
- 6:23Speaker 1: I mean, I think it was a little bit of
- 6:24Speaker 1: tongue in cheek because Adele had said, oh my God,
- 6:26Speaker 1: what must he have done? And that's her sense of humor.
- 6:30Speaker 1: I actually had a colleague, maybe I shouldn't say colleague,
- 6:33Speaker 1: but an ex-colleague who told me that her ex-boyfriend bought
- 6:37Speaker 1: her a designer bag the day before he married someone else,
- 6:41Speaker 1: almost as a bit of a sorry present. What do
- 6:43Speaker 1: you mean? So he sent it to her? No, he
- 6:45Speaker 1: arrived at her doorstep with a designer bag literally the
- 6:48Speaker 1: day before he got married. So did she know he
- 6:50Speaker 1: was getting married? Yeah, she did. Oh, my God. Is
- 6:53Speaker 1: that sort of a bit of a shut-up present? Like
- 6:55Speaker 1: was there stuff going on before the wedding? Look, I
- 6:57Speaker 1: don't know all of the ins and outs, but I
- 6:58Speaker 1: feel like there must have been something going on behind
- 7:01Speaker 1: the scenes. So should we all be pleased that our
- 7:03Speaker 1: partners have never bought us a designer handbag? Is that
- 7:05Speaker 1: a sign of guilt, is it?
- 7:07Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 7:08Speaker 1: Now, in August, the couple traveled to Europe for a
- 7:11Speaker 1: friend's wedding and Adele shared a lot of travel vlogs
- 7:14Speaker 1: throughout the trip. And on the 3rd of September, while
- 7:16Speaker 1: they were in Athens, she unexpectedly shared this written statement
- 7:20Speaker 1: saying that she would be stepping back from social media
- 7:23Speaker 1: for a little bit to focus on some personal matters.
- 7:26Speaker 1: And she said she would be back online and share
- 7:29Speaker 1: more when she was ready. Now, the day before she
- 7:32Speaker 1: had posted, as usual, she was in Athens with Anthony.
- 7:35Speaker 1: She ended up taking a hiatus for a couple of weeks,
- 7:38Speaker 1: but then jumped back online to share a video of
- 7:41Speaker 1: her in bed with texts that read PTSD loading and
- 7:44Speaker 1: a caption that said offline for a reason. We now
- 7:48Speaker 1: know what that reason was. So last week, Adele announced
- 7:51Speaker 1: that she was cancelling her wedding just three months out
- 7:54Speaker 1: from the big day. Let's throw to some of what
- 7:56Speaker 1: she said.
- 7:57Speaker 5: Do you know what I didn't have on my bingo
- 8:01Speaker 5: card for this year? What I didn't have on my
- 8:03Speaker 5: bingo card for this year, for this fucking year?
- 8:05Speaker 3: Cancelling my fucking wedding. Cancelling my fucking wedding.
- 8:08Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:10Speaker 1: Oh, I feel so sorry for her.
- 8:13Speaker 9: I know.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It turns out she left Anthony in Athens and flew
- 8:17Speaker 1: home by herself. She said it's the hardest thing she's
- 8:20Speaker 1: ever gone through, but she wasn't going to be that
- 8:22Speaker 1: bitch who cries on camera for sympathy and pity. She
- 8:26Speaker 1: admitted that her heart was racing during the video and
- 8:28Speaker 1: that she felt sick, but she said she always shows
- 8:30Speaker 1: her authentic self online, so it would be no different now.
- 8:33Speaker 1: It'd be so difficult because by announcing it online, it
- 8:37Speaker 1: almost makes it more real. Well, she had to because
- 8:40Speaker 1: he was a permanent fixture on her TikTok. Now, she
- 8:43Speaker 1: hasn't gone into the details about what actually caused the breakup,
- 8:47Speaker 1: but she said this.
- 8:49Speaker 5: On a very fucking surface level, very fucking surface level, something.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Happened or has happened.
- 8:55Speaker 5: Yeah, that's all I'm going to say about that. That
- 8:59Speaker 5: didn't align with my principles, didn't align with my values
- 9:03Speaker 5: as a human being on this fucking earth that has
- 9:07Speaker 5: made a lifelong commitment to someone. And I have decided
- 9:14Speaker 5: to walk away.
- 9:16Speaker 1: As soon as someone says, I'm not going to explain
- 9:19Speaker 1: the full story, but then they touch on the fact
- 9:22Speaker 1: that what the person did didn't align with their principles,
- 9:25Speaker 1: you automatically assume it must be infidelity that's caused a breakup. Yeah,
- 9:29Speaker 1: I think it's important to point out we don't actually know.
- 9:31Speaker 1: And there are a lot of rumors swirling around. I mean,
- 9:35Speaker 1: at the time of recording, that breakup announcement has amassed
- 9:38Speaker 1: over 2.7 million views. And I think a big part
- 9:41Speaker 1: of the reason why it has gone so viral has
- 9:43Speaker 1: to do with blue-eyed Kayla Jade. So For those not
- 9:46Speaker 1: familiar with Kayla, she is a popular TikToker who shares
- 9:49Speaker 1: her life as a sex worker. And two days before
- 9:53Speaker 1: Adele put her video out, Kayla put out a video
- 9:57Speaker 1: talking about how this guy called Anthony messaged her saying
- 10:00Speaker 1: he's currently in Europe for his bucks and would show
- 10:03Speaker 1: her around if she was interested. And this has led
- 10:06Speaker 1: a lot of people to speculate that perhaps it is
- 10:10Speaker 1: Adele's Anthony and that has caused the breakup. Again, this
- 10:13Speaker 1: is all just speculation. We have no idea whether that
- 10:16Speaker 1: is true, but that search has been trending on TikTok.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Wow.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I feel so sorry for her. This must be absolutely
- 10:23Speaker 1: horrendous to go through, particularly so publicly. She has also
- 10:27Speaker 1: lost out on a lot of money for her wedding. Fortunately,
- 10:30Speaker 1: her wedding vendors have been incredible, but there's a lot
- 10:33Speaker 1: that she's still out of pocket for.
- 10:35Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:35Speaker 1: And her next move has really shocked me. So she
- 10:38Speaker 1: has been gracious enough to say, okay, I'm going to
- 10:40Speaker 1: do a massive giveaway to my followers. So any brides
- 10:44Speaker 1: who are doing it tough, I'm going to be giving
- 10:46Speaker 1: my wedding shoes away, my wedding bands, even her florals,
- 10:48Speaker 1: like anything that she's put a deposit down for, she's
- 10:51Speaker 1: going to pass on to her followers. This is what
- 10:53Speaker 1: she said.
- 10:54Speaker 5: I wasn't able to have mine because in reality, it
- 11:00Speaker 5: wasn't my dream date because it wasn't with the person
- 11:03Speaker 5: that I thought I was.
- 11:04Speaker 3: Getting married to.
- 11:05Speaker 5: But if I can help anybody have the best day
- 11:08Speaker 5: of their life and even help them a smidgen to
- 11:11Speaker 5: create theirs, I'm going to.
- 11:13Speaker 3: Fucking do that.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Now, this is obviously incredibly generous of Adele, but the
- 11:17Speaker 1: skeptic in me was wondering, is a part of it
- 11:20Speaker 1: also to fulfill partnership obligations? Because back in July, Adele
- 11:25Speaker 1: shared her wedding band as part of a paid partnership
- 11:27Speaker 1: with Cullen Jewelry. And it was really awkward because Anthony
- 11:30Speaker 1: was in the video and she was so excited to
- 11:32Speaker 1: unbox them. And she said she wasn't going to try
- 11:35Speaker 1: the ring on her left hand because she thought it
- 11:37Speaker 1: was bad luck. Now, Adele is giving away her wedding
- 11:41Speaker 1: band as a part of this giveaway. What do you
- 11:43Speaker 1: think about that? Well, that's pretty clever. I mean, I
- 11:47Speaker 1: don't think it's the outcome that the jeweler would have
- 11:50Speaker 1: wanted anyway, because I mean, there's a bit of bad
- 11:52Speaker 1: juju on this ring, isn't there? But it's a creative
- 11:54Speaker 1: way to get more eyeballs on your brand. I mean,
- 11:56Speaker 1: it'd be incredibly awkward. You've made all of these deals
- 11:59Speaker 1: for your wedding and you're like, okay, on the big day,
- 12:02Speaker 1: I'm going to show off, you know, this and that,
- 12:03Speaker 1: and you'll get your coverage there. Or particularly when it's
- 12:06Speaker 1: a custom item like rings.
- 12:07Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I think it's incredibly clever. And I think that, you know,
- 12:11Speaker 1: Cullen Jewelry are getting way more exposure for this because
- 12:14Speaker 1: it's like, wow, this is this dramatic breakup. Like, I
- 12:17Speaker 1: don't know if as many people would have cared if
- 12:19Speaker 1: she actually went through with the wedding, what wedding band
- 12:21Speaker 1: she had. Well, I also think it's good that she's
- 12:23Speaker 1: actually giving the items away for free instead of selling them.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I mean, Tammy seemed to get a lot of. stick
- 12:29Speaker 1: when she announced that she was selling her wedding dresses,
- 12:32Speaker 1: particularly because there was a sponsorship agreement there. I just
- 12:35Speaker 1: think it's ingenious. It's creating engagement. It's doing something positive
- 12:39Speaker 1: for brides who may be struggling to pay for their
- 12:42Speaker 1: own weddings, who are doing it tough. All I can
- 12:44Speaker 1: say is thank God all of this has happened before
- 12:46Speaker 1: the wedding. It would absolutely be worse to go ahead
- 12:48Speaker 1: with the wedding and have that heartbreak and embarrassment afterwards.
- 12:53Speaker 6: So I just posted like a life update, but when
- 12:55Speaker 6: I go on my page, it's like my videos.
- 12:59Speaker 3: It's like, oh, I'm getting married. And then it's like, honeymoon.
- 13:03Speaker 1: And then now it's like, I'm getting a job. Tammy
- 13:08Speaker 1: Hembrough has hinted that her therapist warned her not to
- 13:11Speaker 1: marry Matt Zukowski. The OG Australian influencer made the revelation
- 13:15Speaker 1: in her latest YouTube video where she dropped more juicy
- 13:19Speaker 1: details about her breakup, Kate. I was so excited when
- 13:22Speaker 1: this video dropped because it's the first time Tammy's posted
- 13:24Speaker 1: fresh content on YouTube since the breakup. It was also
- 13:28Speaker 1: aptly titled, I Got a Divorce. I was like, oh
- 13:30Speaker 1: my God, what is she going to say? It was
- 13:32Speaker 1: quite funny because on TikTok, Tammy prefaced that when she
- 13:35Speaker 1: logged into her YouTube, she got a bit of a
- 13:36Speaker 1: jump scare because the previous videos were literally, I'm engaged,
- 13:41Speaker 1: I'm getting married and here's my honeymoon. And she's like,
- 13:44Speaker 1: oh fuck, this is so awkward uploading it. I'm divorced.
- 13:47Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:47Speaker 1: That reminds me, I want to go back and watch
- 13:49Speaker 1: those just with a fresh set of eyes. Now, it
- 13:51Speaker 1: was really interesting because it's the first time Tammy has
- 13:54Speaker 1: spoken about how she's dealing with this influx of media
- 13:57Speaker 1: attention since announcing her divorce. And she said it's been
- 14:00Speaker 1: really frustrating and making her not want to post any
- 14:02Speaker 1: content because every time she does, it gets turned into
- 14:05Speaker 1: a headline or clickbait. But I was like, oh, come on, Tammy.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Like a lot of them she's done purposely. I caught
- 14:10Speaker 1: a bit of bullshit when I heard that one because
- 14:12Speaker 1: Tammy has been in this industry for a while. She
- 14:15Speaker 1: knows what she's doing. She's constantly posting TikToks to insinuate
- 14:18Speaker 1: things and to generate attention and media headlines because ultimately
- 14:22Speaker 1: it's good for business.
- 14:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I think though it's now affecting her personal life in
- 14:27Speaker 1: terms of her dating Bailey Smith though. And I think
- 14:30Speaker 1: that's why she's suddenly wanting to put the brakes on
- 14:32Speaker 1: it because there's been a lot of speculation that she
- 14:35Speaker 1: isn't attending the brown load. Now, Of course, we are
- 14:38Speaker 1: recording this on Monday afternoon. The Brownlow is tonight. But
- 14:42Speaker 1: in the days leading up to the Brownlow, the media
- 14:45Speaker 1: have done this complete backflip and said, oh, she's not coming.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Bailey is focusing on football because Geelong are now in
- 14:51Speaker 1: the grand final. Apparently he's taking one of his mates
- 14:54Speaker 1: to the event. He's probably been told not to bring
- 14:57Speaker 1: her because it would be such a media circus and
- 14:59Speaker 1: not a good look for Geelong when they are supposed
- 15:01Speaker 1: to be focusing on the week ahead. So I think
- 15:03Speaker 1: she's a bit annoyed that she can't go to the
- 15:05Speaker 1: Brownlow because of all the media speculation. I mean, she's
- 15:07Speaker 1: been doing all of those appointments at her sister's skin clinic.
- 15:10Speaker 1: I think she probably had a dress ready to go.
- 15:12Speaker 1: You'd be pretty pissed off if you were a designer
- 15:16Speaker 1: who had gifted Tammy a dress thinking she was going
- 15:19Speaker 1: to the Brownlow and then suddenly it seems to be off.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I am very mindful that this podcast is coming out
- 15:24Speaker 1: after the Brownlow. We might have a bit of egg
- 15:26Speaker 1: on our face. Maybe she may make an appearance, but
- 15:29Speaker 1: I'm starting to lose hope because She's been posting that
- 15:32Speaker 1: she's on a holiday with her kids. They're on school holidays.
- 15:34Speaker 1: I don't know where they are, but it looks tropical. Yeah,
- 15:37Speaker 1: I'm not really holding out hope that we're going to
- 15:38Speaker 1: be seeing her on the Brownlow tonight. Well, in another blow,
- 15:41Speaker 1: it seems like Tammy is back to taking the moral
- 15:43Speaker 1: high ground because In her recent YouTube, she said that
- 15:47Speaker 1: she doesn't want to talk about other people or give
- 15:49Speaker 1: certain people her energy, aka Matt Sikowsky. Yeah, but she's
- 15:52Speaker 1: saying that whilst releasing a YouTube video with the clickbait title,
- 15:56Speaker 1: I'm getting a divorce. So I don't know how much
- 15:58Speaker 1: of a high ground that is. Well, one thing that
- 16:01Speaker 1: she wanted everyone to know is that the divorce announcement
- 16:04Speaker 1: didn't signify the end of the marriage. So according to Tammy,
- 16:08Speaker 1: her relationship with Matt ended long before. So it's clear
- 16:11Speaker 1: she's very keen to clear that up because she doesn't
- 16:13Speaker 1: want people to think that she's just moved on so
- 16:15Speaker 1: quickly with bailey smith well she also hinted in a
- 16:18Speaker 1: tiktok video this week that it ended in february because
- 16:20Speaker 1: she filmed herself miming to the lyrics i'm feeling better
- 16:24Speaker 1: i made it to september i can finally breathe and
- 16:26Speaker 1: she captioned that video feb me would be very happy
- 16:30Speaker 1: right now and she also referenced the start of the
- 16:32Speaker 1: year being difficult for her in her youtube this is
- 16:35Speaker 1: what she said.
- 16:35Speaker 8: Like the start of this year i don't think you
- 16:40Speaker 8: guys understand like i was in such a horrific place
- 16:46Speaker 8: and just like I was so miserable because something's happened
- 16:50Speaker 8: to you and they shake you like so badly that
- 16:53Speaker 8: you just don't even know yourself. You don't trust your
- 16:57Speaker 8: own judgment. You don't trust the people around you. And
- 17:01Speaker 8: I started getting like so anxious. There were times where
- 17:04Speaker 8: I literally like could not leave the house.
- 17:08Speaker 1: So does this mean that the marriage only lasted three
- 17:10Speaker 1: months then? I think so. And it seems likely that
- 17:13Speaker 1: that big blow up at the Australian Open was the
- 17:16Speaker 1: end of it all.
- 17:17Speaker 3: Wow.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I wonder if you can get annulled after just three months.
- 17:20Speaker 1: You can't. No, you can't. I think the most interesting
- 17:23Speaker 1: part of this video for me was when Tammy talked
- 17:25Speaker 1: about going to therapy. So it's not the first time
- 17:28Speaker 1: she's spoken about therapy. When she announced her divorce back
- 17:31Speaker 1: in July, she mentioned that she had been talking to
- 17:34Speaker 1: a therapist. It also comes off the back of Matt
- 17:36Speaker 1: speaking a lot on his podcast about how he's in
- 17:39Speaker 1: therapy and focusing on his mental health. It's like she's
- 17:42Speaker 1: trying to reclaim a bit of that and say, well,
- 17:43Speaker 1: my mental health suffered during this relationship as well. Yeah,
- 17:46Speaker 1: but it turns out her first therapy session was actually
- 17:49Speaker 1: before her wedding. Let's take a listen to what she said.
- 17:53Speaker 3: My first therapy session was actually before marriage.
- 17:56Speaker 7: We got married and then I didn't like what I
- 17:59Speaker 7: heard in that session.
- 18:00Speaker 3: So I didn't go back. And then obviously everything happened.
- 18:03Speaker 7: And then I went back and I was like, I
- 18:08Speaker 7: should have listened kind of thing.
- 18:09Speaker 3: But hindsight's 20-20.
- 18:12Speaker 1: It would be really hard to return to that therapist
- 18:15Speaker 1: because they'd probably be a bit like, well, I told
- 18:18Speaker 1: you so. Yeah, but at least she didn't have to
- 18:19Speaker 1: go into the backstory all again for a new therapist. Like,
- 18:22Speaker 1: I don't think they're going to be really judgy about it.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I wonder if this is the same therapist that they
- 18:27Speaker 1: started seeing after the Grand Prix cheating scandal, because in
- 18:30Speaker 1: that infamous podcast episode, Matt Sikowsky released explaining himself after
- 18:35Speaker 1: he was caught out texting this other woman. He said
- 18:37Speaker 1: that he and Tammy were going to a couple's counselor.
- 18:40Speaker 1: This was before the wedding. So, well, I feel like
- 18:43Speaker 1: Matt is getting a lot of good press at the moment.
- 18:45Speaker 1: People seem to be liking him a bit more. That
- 18:47Speaker 1: seems to be the general tone. And I found it
- 18:49Speaker 1: really interesting because in this YouTube video, I feel like
- 18:52Speaker 1: Tammy wanted to remind people about those past cheating rumors
- 18:56Speaker 1: because she spoke a lot about loyalty. And she began
- 18:59Speaker 1: by saying how her marriage breakdown made her realize even
- 19:03Speaker 1: more that loyalty is a non-negotiable for her. She then
- 19:06Speaker 1: said this.
- 19:08Speaker 3: But I didn't.
- 19:09Speaker 6: Realize just how massive that was to me. And not
- 19:12Speaker 6: just in the sense of like being faithful, but in
- 19:14Speaker 6: a sense of just like having the other person's back
- 19:20Speaker 6: kind of thing.
- 19:21Speaker 7: Like you put them before friends, family, like, you know,
- 19:27Speaker 7: not just in like a relationship, but in like other
- 19:29Speaker 7: relationships as well.
- 19:30Speaker 6: Like I've had some things happen. It's so hard to
- 19:34Speaker 6: talk about when I can't like actually talk about it.
- 19:36Speaker 6: I've had some things happen in other relationships with people in.
- 19:39Speaker 7: My life that have, like, I felt, like, so betrayed, like,
- 19:43Speaker 7: to my core.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Now, to me, it seems like she's not only making
- 19:48Speaker 1: a pot shot at... Matt Sikowsky, but also at other
- 19:52Speaker 1: people in her life. And I was wondering, could this
- 19:54Speaker 1: be over her ex-fiancé, Matt Poole, and his new girlfriend, Annalise,
- 19:58Speaker 1: liking Olema Amiga's parody about her crying? I don't know
- 20:02Speaker 1: if she'd actually take a swipe at Matt Paul like this.
- 20:04Speaker 1: They seem to have a pretty good co-parenting relationship. Yeah,
- 20:07Speaker 1: but then he went and publicly liked this derogatory video
- 20:10Speaker 1: about her. So I think she's well within her rights
- 20:13Speaker 1: to say, oh no, some people have disappointed me and
- 20:15Speaker 1: not been loyal because it was quite disloyal. Now we're
- 20:19Speaker 1: coming to you from the future, precisely about an hour
- 20:22Speaker 1: after recording our Tammy Hembrough segment. Because news has just
- 20:27Speaker 1: dropped that Bailey Smith is definitely not taking Tammy Hembro
- 20:30Speaker 1: to the Brownlow. He revealed that during an interview on
- 20:33Speaker 1: The Kyle and Jackie O Show. He also completely dissed
- 20:37Speaker 1: her by saying they're just mates. Let's throw to some
- 20:39Speaker 1: of what he said. Are you taking Tammy tonight or no?
- 20:43Speaker 4: No, I'm not, no. No, I didn't want to. um,
- 20:47Speaker 4: bore her with, you know, footy, um, all night. Um,
- 20:50Speaker 4: so yeah, she's not a big footy fan. Um, and
- 20:54Speaker 4: now we're just mates. So no, leave her.
- 20:57Speaker 1: So you guys aren't like exclusive or boyfriend, girlfriend?
- 21:01Speaker 3: No, we're just, just mates.
- 21:04Speaker 1: Oh, didn't he sound so young? Oh, I would be
- 21:07Speaker 1: so pissed off if I was Tammy Hembrough listening to this.
- 21:09Speaker 1: Like it's a complete slap in the face. It's like,
- 21:11Speaker 1: Why did you hard launch your relationship on your Instagram account? Well,
- 21:13Speaker 1: soft launch, really. Well, I think it was a hard launch,
- 21:15Speaker 1: the fact that he shared her story on his Instagram
- 21:18Speaker 1: account and they were out on a date. Do you
- 21:19Speaker 1: reckon maybe they are just friends and they've been trying
- 21:21Speaker 1: to make Matt Zukowski jealous?
- 21:23Speaker 4: What?
- 21:23Speaker 1: Making out? No, but do you reckon that it's all
- 21:26Speaker 1: for a bit of fun? Because I've heard before in
- 21:27Speaker 1: the past that they did know each other before this
- 21:30Speaker 1: incident and maybe Tammy, being the PR mastermind that she
- 21:34Speaker 1: seems to be, maybe thought, look, this is going to
- 21:36Speaker 1: generate some attention. It's going to get my name out there.
- 21:40Speaker 1: it looks like I've moved on from this relationship and
- 21:43Speaker 1: this divorce. No, I don't think so. I think that,
- 21:46Speaker 1: you know, Tammy said it herself on her YouTube. She
- 21:48Speaker 1: is a lover. She loves love. And, you know, she
- 21:51Speaker 1: gets into things really quickly. I think she would be
- 21:53Speaker 1: hurt by this. It was clearly a rebound though. It
- 21:55Speaker 1: was a bit of fun. But still, I think that
- 21:58Speaker 1: when you have a rebound so close to like a big,
- 22:01Speaker 1: major relationship breakdown, they're sometimes more difficult to deal with.
- 22:04Speaker 1: There's a whole tripe of you know, it's harder to
- 22:07Speaker 1: get over a situation ship than a full-term relationship. Well,
- 22:10Speaker 1: Taylor Swift made that pretty clear with all her whole album,
- 22:13Speaker 1: Project Poets, about Matt Healy. Yeah. And, I mean, clearly
- 22:15Speaker 1: Tammy was invited originally to the Brownlow. Like, you know,
- 22:18Speaker 1: she was getting her skin ready for it. I'm wondering, though,
- 22:21Speaker 1: because she uploaded this TikTok a couple of days ago
- 22:23Speaker 1: and she was miming to Fantasy by Mariah Carey when
- 22:27Speaker 1: she got what she called a wild notification. She wrote,
- 22:30Speaker 1: point of view, you get a wild notification mid-Mariah solo.
- 22:34Speaker 1: I wonder maybe if it was a text to say
- 22:36Speaker 1: you're uninvited to the Brownlow. No, dumped. Do you also
- 22:39Speaker 1: think that maybe Tinder have something to do with this?
- 22:41Speaker 1: I'm assuming that they paid Bailey Smith a lot of
- 22:43Speaker 1: money to be the face of their new campaign and
- 22:45Speaker 1: they've said, hey, look, could you cool things down a bit?
- 22:47Speaker 1: At least pretend that you're single and seeing people. No,
- 22:50Speaker 1: this is definitely coming from Geelong Football Club and maybe
- 22:53Speaker 1: we shouldn't read into it too much because do you
- 22:55Speaker 1: think also he's just a typical footballer and he's done
- 22:57Speaker 1: a bit of a root and boot? No, I think
- 22:59Speaker 1: it's all about distraction leading into, you know, the most
- 23:02Speaker 1: important game in his career, the grand final. He doesn't
- 23:05Speaker 1: want Geelong fans blaming Tammy Hembrough. He wants to make
- 23:07Speaker 1: it clear she's not going to be at the Brownlow.
- 23:09Speaker 1: She's not hanging around me. She's not going to be
- 23:11Speaker 1: at the grand final. And then maybe, you know, once
- 23:14Speaker 1: the grand final's over, we might see them rekindle things. Well,
- 23:16Speaker 1: if anything, from watching the prelim on the weekend, he's
- 23:20Speaker 1: taken it in his stride and Tammy's been good for
- 23:21Speaker 1: him because he played so well. He was getting booed
- 23:24Speaker 1: by the crowd. I think that was to do with
- 23:26Speaker 1: him giving the bird to that photographer but you know
- 23:30Speaker 1: if anything he's been in great form I personally think
- 23:33Speaker 1: that they're going to rekindle things more publicly once the
- 23:35Speaker 1: footy season is over and they've just been told to
- 23:38Speaker 1: publicly cool it down the mainstream media are so confused
- 23:42Speaker 1: with what's going on because they were reporting that Tammy
- 23:44Speaker 1: posted about having a crash out and it must have
- 23:47Speaker 1: been about Bailey Smith that was about Matsukowski Okay. Everyone's
- 23:50Speaker 1: getting confused. Let's keep up. If they do need some
- 23:53Speaker 1: expert opinions on these matters, they can contact us. Yeah,
- 23:56Speaker 1: footy classified. If you need us for comments, we're here.
- 24:00Speaker 9: I'm so excited about Hawaii.
- 24:03Speaker 1: Anna McAvoy has opened up about the reality of traveling
- 24:06Speaker 1: with a baby. The former Love Islander and her husband,
- 24:09Speaker 1: Michael Staples, are currently holidaying in Hawaii with their three-month-old son, Swade.
- 24:13Speaker 1: I remember even before Suede was born that Anna was
- 24:16Speaker 1: really adamant that having a baby wasn't going to stop
- 24:19Speaker 1: her travel plans at all. I remember hearing that on
- 24:21Speaker 1: her podcast while driving and scoffing and like, yeah, right,
- 24:24Speaker 1: you are not going anywhere. But she has really proven
- 24:27Speaker 1: us wrong. She's, you know, been off to Hawaii. Yeah, well,
- 24:30Speaker 1: that's the thing. She does share a lot on her
- 24:32Speaker 1: Instagram about holiday content. I mean, I wouldn't call her
- 24:35Speaker 1: a travel vlogger, but the most notable holiday that she
- 24:38Speaker 1: shared about was her wedding in Greece. And they often
- 24:41Speaker 1: traveled to Thailand and Bali. They recently went to Palm
- 24:44Speaker 1: Cove for their baby moon. So it's quite clear that
- 24:47Speaker 1: before they had Swade, they said, we love traveling. We're
- 24:49Speaker 1: going to continue doing it even when we have him.
- 24:51Speaker 1: And they had a little bit of a rehearsal leading
- 24:53Speaker 1: into the overseas trip. So they did a staycay in
- 24:56Speaker 1: the city for Michael's birthday and things did not run
- 24:59Speaker 1: to plan. On the way to the hotel, Swade did
- 25:02Speaker 1: a poo explosion in the car. They also forgot his
- 25:04Speaker 1: sleep suit. Any parent's worst nightmare, really. Well, Michael had
- 25:08Speaker 1: to make this mad dash to Kmart to go and
- 25:10Speaker 1: get a cheapo version of his sleep suit and he
- 25:13Speaker 1: could only find a larger size. So they had to
- 25:15Speaker 1: get the little sewing kit in the room to make
- 25:17Speaker 1: it smaller. I mean, I probably would have just packed
- 25:20Speaker 1: up and gone home. By that, you're not enjoying it,
- 25:22Speaker 1: are you? It's pretty brave they went on to book
- 25:24Speaker 1: the overseas trip. If that had been me, I would
- 25:26Speaker 1: have been shaken by the whole thing. So we're not
- 25:28Speaker 1: doing it for a couple of years. Well, also, despite
- 25:30Speaker 1: the setback, Anna ended up sharing this video of her
- 25:33Speaker 1: and Suede looking out the hotel window and she captioned it,
- 25:36Speaker 1: your reminder that travel doesn't need to end when you
- 25:38Speaker 1: have a baby. So a lot of mixed messaging going on, like,
- 25:42Speaker 1: you know, on an Instagram story, oh, it's hell. But
- 25:44Speaker 1: then on the Instagram feed, it's like, oh, it's so
- 25:46Speaker 1: magical taking your baby on a holiday. Suede is literally
- 25:49Speaker 1: only a couple of weeks older than Luca. And I
- 25:51Speaker 1: just couldn't even comprehend taking him on an international holiday.
- 25:54Speaker 1: But in saying that, I really admire the parents who
- 25:57Speaker 1: just say, fuck it, we're doing it. I personally don't
- 25:59Speaker 1: have it in me. It just seems like such a hassle.
- 26:03Speaker 1: And also it seems like a lot of money to
- 26:04Speaker 1: spend on a holiday that might not go to plan.
- 26:08Speaker 1: I mean, a lot of people say to do it
- 26:09Speaker 1: before the age of six months, which makes sense to
- 26:11Speaker 1: me because you're not feeding your baby solids and they're
- 26:13Speaker 1: also not moving. But then again, you're dealing with sleep regressions.
- 26:18Speaker 1: You're dealing with having to, you know, constant fasting. feeding
- 26:22Speaker 1: of milk, breast milk or formula. It's just the unknown,
- 26:24Speaker 1: isn't it?
- 26:25Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 26:25Speaker 1: And leading into the trip, you could tell that Anna
- 26:28Speaker 1: was starting to feel a bit apprehensive on her podcast,
- 26:31Speaker 1: Where's Your Head At? She told her co-host Matt Zukowski
- 26:34Speaker 1: that Swade has suddenly awoken from his newborn slumber and
- 26:37Speaker 1: had a very big personality. Let's have a listen to
- 26:40Speaker 1: some of what she said.
- 26:43Speaker 9: But anyway, yeah, I'm so excited about Hawaii. A little
- 26:47Speaker 9: bit nervous about the flight with Swade.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I'm not even going to lie.
- 26:50Speaker 8: How is it?
- 26:50Speaker 9: It's a 10 hour direct flight.
- 26:53Speaker 4: That's okay. He'll be fine.
- 26:54Speaker 9: It's okay. But as I've said in previous episodes of
- 26:57Speaker 9: this podcast, he has awoken from his newborn sleep.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Like he is wide awake. He lets you know if
- 27:03Speaker 1: he's not happy.
- 27:04Speaker 9: So yeah, I don't know.
- 27:06Speaker 1: Just put his dummy in for when they're landing and
- 27:08Speaker 1: that for the ears.
- 27:09Speaker 9: I think you breastfeed them on the way up and
- 27:11Speaker 9: down to stop them. Are you allowed to though?
- 27:14Speaker 1: I think so. With the seatbelts and that?
- 27:16Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 27:17Speaker 1: That's what people have told me to do. So I'm
- 27:19Speaker 1: going to. Okay. If he's screaming, I'm obviously going to
- 27:22Speaker 1: feed it. I love that Matt Zukowski was like, oh,
- 27:25Speaker 1: 10 hours, that'll be no problem. I gasped when I
- 27:27Speaker 1: heard 10 hours. Like 10 hours. The thing is he
- 27:29Speaker 1: said it with such conviction.
- 27:31Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 27:31Speaker 1: Which it made me laugh because I'm like, oh, he's
- 27:33Speaker 1: got no idea what he's talking about. I mean, he
- 27:35Speaker 1: was a stepdad to Tammy Hembrough's kids for a couple
- 27:38Speaker 1: of months. Posey was two or three at the time.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I mean, you can't really compare that to a three
- 27:43Speaker 1: month old baby, can you? It did make me laugh
- 27:45Speaker 1: because he's like, oh, just put his dummy in when
- 27:46Speaker 1: the flight takes off as if that would solve all
- 27:49Speaker 1: of the problems. Now, unfortunately for Anna and Michael, the
- 27:52Speaker 1: flight was no walk in the park. While Anna said
- 27:54Speaker 1: that there weren't too many meltdowns on board, there also
- 27:58Speaker 1: wasn't much sleep. So when they finally did get Suede
- 28:01Speaker 1: to sleep in the plane bassinet, there happened to be
- 28:04Speaker 1: turbulence and they had to quickly take him back out.
- 28:07Speaker 1: She also said he didn't love the bassinet because it
- 28:09Speaker 1: was all enclosed. Now, overall, apparently he only got about
- 28:14Speaker 1: one and a half hours sleep on the 10-hour flight
- 28:16Speaker 1: whilst they got about an hour. So she said they
- 28:19Speaker 1: were absolutely exhausted. And everyone around them was probably exhausted.
- 28:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:24Speaker 1: And I mean, once they were in Hawaii... It seemed
- 28:26Speaker 1: like that travel day and also the time zones really
- 28:29Speaker 1: had a huge effect on Swade because Anna ended up
- 28:32Speaker 1: sharing a video of Michael literally looking like he was
- 28:35Speaker 1: at his wits end and he was trying to calm
- 28:37Speaker 1: Swade down. I felt so sorry for him. He looked
- 28:41Speaker 1: like a broken man and she captioned it, yesterday was
- 28:44Speaker 1: the hardest day of parenting we've ever had. Swade was
- 28:47Speaker 1: fighting his sleep like never before and was inconsolably crying,
- 28:51Speaker 1: which was heartbreaking. I'd love to tally the number of shushes.
- 28:54Speaker 1: On a more positive note, he has woken up super
- 28:56Speaker 1: happy today. I was really relieved to hear that he
- 28:59Speaker 1: had a better day the next day. The shushing thing
- 29:02Speaker 1: cracked me up because I have this nanite sound machine
- 29:05Speaker 1: and it's so good that it actually makes a shushing
- 29:08Speaker 1: sound for you. So you don't have to exhaust yourself? No,
- 29:11Speaker 1: it's like shh. It's so funny. I remember falling asleep
- 29:14Speaker 1: to that. I think it was week two and three
- 29:16Speaker 1: of bringing Luca home and I woke up. I'm like,
- 29:19Speaker 1: what is that noise? It's quite annoying. I have really
- 29:23Speaker 1: been enjoying checking in on this holiday and seeing the
- 29:25Speaker 1: little updates now and then because to Anna's credit, she
- 29:28Speaker 1: has been sharing the ups and the downs. And there's
- 29:32Speaker 1: been some really heartwarming moments within it that you're like, oh,
- 29:34Speaker 1: maybe I will take my baby on holiday. Well, it's
- 29:37Speaker 1: clear she knows the videos that are also going to
- 29:39Speaker 1: do well on TikTok. because she shared a video of
- 29:42Speaker 1: her and Michael showing suede fireworks at the resort for
- 29:45Speaker 1: the first time. And she captioned it, what if it
- 29:47Speaker 1: all works better than you could have imagined? And she
- 29:50Speaker 1: did another sort of viral video where suede was in
- 29:53Speaker 1: the ocean with them. And it said, your mom and
- 29:55Speaker 1: dad didn't stop traveling. So now you're three months old
- 29:57Speaker 1: and floating over waves in Hawaii. And it's quite clear
- 30:00Speaker 1: that she's trying to encourage other parents to get out
- 30:03Speaker 1: there and see the world. But I wonder if you're
- 30:06Speaker 1: being a bit earnest. Do you think it's just because
- 30:07Speaker 1: that content does really well on TikTok?
- 30:10Speaker 3: Oh, 100%.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Because there's almost an element of rage baiting to it
- 30:13Speaker 1: because you know the discussions that are being had in
- 30:16Speaker 1: the comments. People are going to be like, I would
- 30:17Speaker 1: never take my kids on holidays. And oh my God,
- 30:20Speaker 1: I love taking my kids on holidays. And then there
- 30:22Speaker 1: would be fights in the comments. Like, yeah, I think
- 30:24Speaker 1: there's a little bit of rage baiting going on. And also-
- 30:27Speaker 1: It seems like Anna's not really sure which path she's
- 30:30Speaker 1: going down on parenting. Is she being really raw and
- 30:33Speaker 1: sharing the truth or does she want to be one
- 30:36Speaker 1: of those Instagram mums who only shows the polished version
- 30:40Speaker 1: of motherhood? Well, I suppose maybe she knows that there's
- 30:42Speaker 1: ups and downs and why not share both of them.
- 30:44Speaker 1: I also think that a lot of that more aspirational
- 30:46Speaker 1: content is happening on her TikTok account because it's really
- 30:49Speaker 1: on her Instagram stories where she's sharing the reality because
- 30:53Speaker 1: after that post did quite well of the fireworks, she
- 30:57Speaker 1: uploaded an Instagram story where she said, look, it all
- 31:00Speaker 1: looks great. But in reality, Michael and I have to
- 31:03Speaker 1: eat every meal alone while the other person soothes suede.
- 31:07Speaker 1: She also said that she's only been able to venture
- 31:09Speaker 1: into the adult pool area once. And basically, her and
- 31:12Speaker 1: Michael did this trade-off where if he went for a run,
- 31:15Speaker 1: she got to go on the pool. And she also
- 31:17Speaker 1: kept it real by showing that they went out on
- 31:19Speaker 1: this day excursion to Hawaii. And Basically, she was wearing
- 31:22Speaker 1: this beautiful white skirt and Suede did this huge poo
- 31:25Speaker 1: explosion on it. I feel like she's almost got her
- 31:27Speaker 1: social media platforms mixed up because if I was her,
- 31:29Speaker 1: I would be sharing the reality on TikTok and more
- 31:32Speaker 1: of the aspirational stuff on her Instagram feed. Like people
- 31:35Speaker 1: love that stuff on TikTok. It goes off. But maybe
- 31:37Speaker 1: she feels more comfortable on Instagram because on Instagram, it's
- 31:40Speaker 1: probably people who have followed her since she was on
- 31:42Speaker 1: Love Island and actually know her, whereas TikTok is so random. Yeah,
- 31:46Speaker 1: I mean, there's a lot of mum shaming and trolling
- 31:48Speaker 1: on TikTok. Well, at least it sounds like they've had
- 31:50Speaker 1: a bit of couple time because Anna shared a screenshot
- 31:53Speaker 1: of some flirty text messages that she and her husband
- 31:56Speaker 1: sent in this photo dump. And it made me laugh
- 31:59Speaker 1: because she was calling him a hot dad and he
- 32:02Speaker 1: replied calling her a Megan Milf. I love that she
- 32:05Speaker 1: shared that. Like, oh, it's like a little bit of
- 32:06Speaker 1: a humble brag. Michael was like, oh, I didn't know
- 32:08Speaker 1: you were sharing this in the comment section. Yeah, it's
- 32:13Speaker 1: kind of come to a point now where I'm.
- 32:16Speaker 10: Really feeling pretty shitty every day with how I'm coping
- 32:22Speaker 10: with things and, yeah, just needing a bit of extra help.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Steph Clare-Smith has opened up about her daily struggles with
- 32:31Speaker 1: ADHD since having her daughter, Billie. The key co-founder said
- 32:35Speaker 1: she's been experiencing emotional breakdowns and intense bouts of rage.
- 32:39Speaker 1: So if this feeling of overwhelm has led Steph to
- 32:41Speaker 1: seek some help. Yeah, this really was a very raw
- 32:45Speaker 1: and honest look behind the curtain at how Steph Clare
- 32:48Speaker 1: Smith's postpartum experience has gone so far. So she had
- 32:52Speaker 1: her daughter, Billie, only a few weeks before I had Luca.
- 32:54Speaker 1: So I feel like I've had this weird parasocial relationship
- 32:58Speaker 1: with her pregnancy and also her newborn journey. And I
- 33:02Speaker 1: just find it so fascinating to see what an influencer's
- 33:06Speaker 1: life looks like now that they're a new mum. I
- 33:09Speaker 1: just compare what I'm going through And if anything, I
- 33:12Speaker 1: felt like it looked like Steph had been flourishing on
- 33:15Speaker 1: her socials because Billie seemed to be a much better
- 33:18Speaker 1: sleeper than her son Harvey. And she'd been posting all
- 33:21Speaker 1: of these beautiful nap-trapped moments. And she seemed to really
- 33:24Speaker 1: be embracing it this time around. So I was really
- 33:27Speaker 1: surprised to hear that behind the scenes, she's been struggling
- 33:30Speaker 1: with these emotional breakdowns. It's really interesting being a mom now.
- 33:34Speaker 1: So I've got a 15-month-old. And You know, the newborn
- 33:37Speaker 1: phase doesn't seem that long ago. And, you know, I've
- 33:39Speaker 1: watched now you and Amy go through it. And I
- 33:43Speaker 1: do find it fascinating seeing how other mums portray it
- 33:46Speaker 1: on social media. And I've learned that everyone does it
- 33:48Speaker 1: so differently. Sometimes I'm like, hang on, why is your
- 33:50Speaker 1: baby not napping? Or, you know, why are you doing this?
- 33:53Speaker 1: And I've got to remind myself, well, everyone does everything differently.
- 33:55Speaker 1: And with Steph being a second time mum, I was like,
- 33:57Speaker 1: I'm really interested to see what that is like and
- 34:00Speaker 1: how they're dealing with it. And I think she's been
- 34:02Speaker 1: pretty open throughout it all. But she hasn't touched upon
- 34:05Speaker 1: the rage until now. And I found that so refreshing
- 34:08Speaker 1: because we all go through it, even if you don't
- 34:11Speaker 1: have ADHD. See, I found that having my own postpartum
- 34:15Speaker 1: experience has really changed me because now whenever I hear
- 34:18Speaker 1: that another mum is doing it tough, it absolutely breaks
- 34:21Speaker 1: my heart because I found the first couple of months, well,
- 34:23Speaker 1: I'm only three months in, but I found it so challenging.
- 34:27Speaker 1: And really the first couple of weeks I felt really down.
- 34:32Speaker 1: So it breaks my heart to see anyone experiencing these
- 34:35Speaker 1: emotional breakdowns and also this rage that she's been talking about.
- 34:38Speaker 1: Particularly also trying to navigate that with a pretty fresh
- 34:41Speaker 1: ADHD diagnosis, because Steph got that diagnosis when she was
- 34:46Speaker 1: pregnant and she wasn't at the time able to go
- 34:49Speaker 1: on medication for it. So she announced on the kick
- 34:53Speaker 1: pod that that is something that she's looking to trial. Yeah.
- 34:56Speaker 1: And she actually released her own mini series on a
- 34:58Speaker 1: podcast about navigating ADHD. And she said that it was
- 35:01Speaker 1: because of that transparency early on that she wanted to
- 35:04Speaker 1: continue opening up about it, particularly during this postpartum time.
- 35:08Speaker 1: And she told her co-host Laura Henshaw that she isn't
- 35:11Speaker 1: managing well. Let's have a listen to some of what
- 35:13Speaker 1: she said.
- 35:15Speaker 10: And the unfortunate thing is outside of myself, you know,
- 35:20Speaker 10: my kids and Josh are the ones that are also
- 35:22Speaker 10: having to cop it.
- 35:25Speaker 1: Really.
- 35:25Speaker 10: And what I mean by that is the overwhelm is
- 35:27Speaker 10: sending me into immense amount of rage and emotional breakdowns.
- 35:33Speaker 10: And basically I look like Harvey, like I'm having full
- 35:37Speaker 10: toddler tantrums and meltdowns if shit's like not going my
- 35:41Speaker 10: way or things haven't happened how I thought they would.
- 35:45Speaker 1: I just really appreciate her being so honest about this
- 35:48Speaker 1: because I think it will really help other mums going
- 35:51Speaker 1: through a similar experience. And as you said, Kate, I
- 35:53Speaker 1: think whether you have ADHD or not, It is so
- 35:56Speaker 1: common for women during this postpartum time to feel completely
- 35:59Speaker 1: overwhelmed and also experience this sense of rage and resentment.
- 36:04Speaker 1: And it's clear for Steph that this is obviously exacerbated
- 36:06Speaker 1: by her ADHD. Yeah, and I think it's really good
- 36:09Speaker 1: that Steph has provided that behind the scenes look because
- 36:12Speaker 1: she does post a lot of beautiful photos of her
- 36:14Speaker 1: with her children. And she's returned to work very early on.
- 36:19Speaker 1: She's been back at events, you know, a couple of
- 36:21Speaker 1: weeks after giving birth to Billy. Well, it looks like
- 36:23Speaker 1: she's thriving, really.
- 36:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:25Speaker 1: And it would be easy for other mums to look
- 36:26Speaker 1: at that and be like, oh my God, why isn't
- 36:27Speaker 1: she struggling like I am? Like she has it so easy.
- 36:30Speaker 1: And it's like, well, that's actually not the reality. I mean,
- 36:32Speaker 1: you don't really want to pick up your camera when
- 36:34Speaker 1: you're having a massive argument with your husband and document
- 36:36Speaker 1: it to the world. Well, it's also that challenge of
- 36:38Speaker 1: her going from one to two. And she said that
- 36:40Speaker 1: her son Harvey has been having meltdowns and that she
- 36:43Speaker 1: and her husband Josh are at a point where they've
- 36:45Speaker 1: run out of patience. Let's have a listen to more
- 36:47Speaker 1: of what she said about that.
- 36:50Speaker 10: And we are really struggling with Harvey at the moment.
- 36:53Speaker 10: He is just having really, really big emotions. He's almost
- 36:57Speaker 10: preempting before we even say no to things that we're
- 37:00Speaker 10: going to say no. So he's having a lot of
- 37:02Speaker 10: meltdowns and stuff and we are just, our patience is gone.
- 37:05Speaker 10: And we are both feeling really guilty for that because
- 37:10Speaker 10: at the end of the day, they end.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Up mirroring what you do, not what you say.
- 37:14Speaker 10: And I have not been a very good example for him.
- 37:19Speaker 10: because of my emotional state at the moment, where I'm
- 37:22Speaker 10: just losing it over really little things.
- 37:26Speaker 1: It's pretty brave of her to put up her hand
- 37:28Speaker 1: and say, hey, look, Harvey is acting out because of
- 37:31Speaker 1: me and the way that I act at home. There
- 37:33Speaker 1: seems to be a lot of self-awareness there with that. Yeah.
- 37:36Speaker 1: And as I briefly touched on, Steph is going to
- 37:38Speaker 1: be exploring potentially getting medicated for her ADHD. So she
- 37:41Speaker 1: has an appointment locked in with a psychiatrist and she's
- 37:45Speaker 1: going to continue documenting her journey with her followers online,
- 37:48Speaker 1: which I think is really brave of her. And I'm
- 37:50Speaker 1: Interested to see how it all goes. Well, that is
- 37:53Speaker 1: where we are going to leave things today. Thank you
- 37:55Speaker 1: so much for listening to today's episode. If you have
