- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on, I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Good morning everybody you are listening to the voice, Come on,
- 0:08Speaker 2: dig me now, one and all is Steve Harvey got
- 0:11Speaker 2: a radio show.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Particular me this morning. Steve Harvey got a radio show
- 0:19Speaker 1: filled with nothing but joy and hope about it too.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You know, it's a great thing to be able to
- 0:25Speaker 1: wake up in the morning with peace in your heart
- 0:27Speaker 1: and joy. Peace and joy is is immeasurable. It has
- 0:33Speaker 1: a value attached to it, and I have no idea
- 0:35Speaker 1: what it is. It's invaluable.
- 0:38Speaker 2: It is worth so much more than any amount of
- 0:41Speaker 2: money you can make. Peace and joy. I have not
- 0:45Speaker 2: always had that. I've not always been a peaceful person
- 0:51Speaker 2: or a person who lived his life and enjoy spirit.
- 0:56Speaker 2: It took an arrival at this moment. Some people arrived
- 0:59Speaker 2: sooner than all. I wish I had arrived at this
- 1:03Speaker 2: point sooner, but I think it was necessary for me
- 1:07Speaker 2: to learn a few things too. That's the amazing thing
- 1:11Speaker 2: I've learned about life is that instead of reflecting on
- 1:15Speaker 2: your past incidences and calling them failures, instead of focusing
- 1:22Speaker 2: on the negative and calling them bad times, I look
- 1:28Speaker 2: at them now as experiences. I had to have those
- 1:32Speaker 2: experiences that were negative, that were good, positive, wrong, evil.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I had to have all those experiences to become to
- 1:43Speaker 2: shape who we are today. We all have to have them.
- 1:48Speaker 2: If you look back at all the negative experiences you've had,
- 1:52Speaker 2: all the things that you called failures, all the businesses
- 1:56Speaker 2: I started that went under, all of the jobs I
- 1:59Speaker 2: had that I was fire it from, all the shows
- 2:01Speaker 2: that were canceled, all of the times I thought I
- 2:05Speaker 2: was going to get something happened in my way and
- 2:08Speaker 2: turned out I didn't get it at all. When you
- 2:10Speaker 2: look at all of it, all of it, hopefully along
- 2:14Speaker 2: the way, what you have done as a person is
- 2:16Speaker 2: you've taken those negatives and those failures and you've used
- 2:21Speaker 2: them for what they actually are. They are experiences, and
- 2:26Speaker 2: they've now created in you an experienced person, and you
- 2:31Speaker 2: know that is worth something. That's then it becomes a positive.
- 2:38Speaker 2: But what too many people do is they let the
- 2:40Speaker 2: negative things that have happened in their life, They allow
- 2:43Speaker 2: the failures that have happened in them lives never to
- 2:46Speaker 2: manifest themselves as experiences. And you sit up there and
- 2:50Speaker 2: you dwell on it, and you dwell on it until
- 2:53Speaker 2: you have this woe is me attitude. Stop looking at
- 2:57Speaker 2: it like that. Y'all, you go through things in order
- 3:01Speaker 2: to become the person that you are today. I tell
- 3:04Speaker 2: you who you sometimes have to sit down and talk to.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Sometimes you ought to sit down to an inmate that
- 3:09Speaker 2: really gets it, an inmate that says, man, I've actually
- 3:13Speaker 2: heard inmates say it to me and write to me,
- 3:16Speaker 2: and they've said things like, man, come into prison, save
- 3:20Speaker 2: my life. Now, those of you have never got how
- 3:22Speaker 2: can he say a thing like that? But some men know, man,
- 3:26Speaker 2: I was so far out there that if I'd have
- 3:29Speaker 2: stayed out there, I wouldn't even be here today. This
- 3:31Speaker 2: actually allowed me to stop, spend some time with myself
- 3:34Speaker 2: and learn some things about me. Now does that happen
- 3:38Speaker 2: for everybody?
- 3:38Speaker 1: Like that?
- 3:39Speaker 2: And a but here's a person who has taking an
- 3:41Speaker 2: experience that could be considered a failure or negative and
- 3:45Speaker 2: turn it into a positive and using it to enrich
- 3:48Speaker 2: their lives. You can do it no matter what your
- 3:50Speaker 2: set of circumstances is. I recommend to everybody that you
- 3:54Speaker 2: try changing your outlook in order to change your outcome.
- 3:59Speaker 2: Everything that happen to you that's negative or you consider
- 4:02Speaker 2: failure their experiences. You've got to go through these things
- 4:05Speaker 2: in order to have the knowledge that you have today.
- 4:07Speaker 2: So I wish that I had come to this arrival
- 4:11Speaker 2: that I'm in now, this place of peace and joy.
- 4:14Speaker 2: But then guess what, I will not know what I know.
- 4:17Speaker 2: I couldnot share some of the things that I'm able
- 4:20Speaker 2: to share if I had not gone through some of them.
- 4:23Speaker 2: And sometimes that's the purpose of them. It's to teach
- 4:25Speaker 2: you a lesson because you know, God has a plan
- 4:28Speaker 2: for you. He really really does, and eventually He can
- 4:31Speaker 2: use you no matter how old you are, and he
- 4:34Speaker 2: can use you no matter how young you are. If
- 4:36Speaker 2: you just say, Okay, I'm ready to hear your plan.
- 4:39Speaker 2: I've tried mine. Mine ain't worked out. What's your plan
- 4:43Speaker 2: for me? God, what do you want me to do?
- 4:46Speaker 2: That's why I say every day Steve already got radio show, y'all.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Cause man, I ain't see it coming. I didn't see
- 4:52Speaker 2: that coming. I ain't see this book coming. I ain't
- 4:55Speaker 2: I ain't seen half of the amazing things that are
- 4:57Speaker 2: happened to me. I didn't plan them. I was sitting there, man,
- 5:01Speaker 2: asking God for some direction. And then I got smart
- 5:05Speaker 2: enough to stay watchful, be a hard worker. Now because
- 5:09Speaker 2: faithful our works is dead and it came, and I'll
- 5:12Speaker 2: remind you of this. God has given all of you
- 5:14Speaker 2: a gift. Every last one of you listening has a gift.
- 5:18Speaker 2: God has never created a soul that he did not
- 5:20Speaker 2: provide a gift to. God gives everyone a gift, and
- 5:24Speaker 2: a gift is not just singing, rapping entertainment. The richer
- 5:29Speaker 2: gifts are much more than that. Teachers are gifted people
- 5:33Speaker 2: who really have the gift of sharing information. That's a gift,
- 5:37Speaker 2: you know, and in that you can become great.
- 5:42Speaker 1: You know.
- 5:45Speaker 2: A lot of people think that successful and greatness is
- 5:48Speaker 2: the same thing. Cornell West said it at my daughter's graduation.
- 5:52Speaker 2: He was a spokesperson. He said something so pointed. He said,
- 5:55Speaker 2: don't ever confuse success with greatness. The two have nothing
- 5:59Speaker 2: to do with each other. See, people determine success about
- 6:03Speaker 2: money and fame and all this here, but greatness. Greatness
- 6:07Speaker 2: ain't got nothing to do with your money. It ain't
- 6:09Speaker 2: got nothing to do with your fame. It's how you
- 6:11Speaker 2: conduct your life. It's how meaningful and significant you become
- 6:16Speaker 2: in your community, at your church, on your job, to
- 6:20Speaker 2: the cub Scout unit that you run, to the little
- 6:22Speaker 2: girl's lives that you change that that little center in
- 6:25Speaker 2: the hood where you just one place of hope to
- 6:28Speaker 2: so many people and they come back. And I used
- 6:31Speaker 2: the example of Lou Dazzler who passed away in LA
- 6:34Speaker 2: who had the Boys and Girls Challenges Club out in
- 6:36Speaker 2: LA And he wasn't a rich man at all, and
- 6:39Speaker 2: if you walk by him, you wouldn't even know who
- 6:41Speaker 2: he was. But if you look at all the people
- 6:43Speaker 2: who have gone on to become politicians, who have gone
- 6:47Speaker 2: on to become CEOs, who have gone on to become athletes,
- 6:50Speaker 2: that have passed through this man's small building in the
- 6:53Speaker 2: hood in La, he was great. Trust me, man, Prayer
- 6:59Speaker 2: changes things. Say it all the time. But when you
- 7:01Speaker 2: see people become successful or great that somebody praying somewhere
- 7:05Speaker 2: may not even be them.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Maybe it's they.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Mama. You know, I think of Tiger Woods and all
- 7:09Speaker 2: the greatness he's accomplished. You know, they always talk about
- 7:12Speaker 2: his father and all this. Here somebody somewhere praying for
- 7:16Speaker 2: Tiger Woods. I got cash money riding on that Tiger Woods.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Mama is a praying woman or something. My mother was.
- 7:23Speaker 2: She prayed me into this place because she used to
- 7:26Speaker 2: call me all the time praying for you, boy, and
- 7:29Speaker 2: prayer changes things. It really does. Try it today. It
- 7:32Speaker 2: can change you. It has changed millions of people. Open
- 7:36Speaker 2: up yourself to the greatness that's in you, because God
- 7:39Speaker 2: is giving you a gift. Matter of fact that you
- 7:42Speaker 2: ain't using it. Who fought you think that is? I'm
- 7:44Speaker 2: just telling you you got one, and if you start
- 7:47Speaker 2: praying about it, it'll manifest itself and you can become
- 7:51Speaker 2: one of two things, successful or great or both. You
- 7:57Speaker 2: can make the decision today to
- 8:00Speaker 1: The Steve Harvey Morning Show.
