- 0:00Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure coming up with a clever intro for
- 0:02Speaker 1: podcasts is racist too. It's one more thing, one more
- 0:08Speaker 1: thing before we into.
- 0:14Speaker 2: So I was just in Canada. I've spent most of
- 0:16Speaker 2: the week driving across Canada with my kids, and as
- 0:20Speaker 2: I was making a joke earlier about the so glad
- 0:25Speaker 2: to be back in the United States because Canada is
- 0:27Speaker 2: like being in South Dakota. I mean, it's not that
- 0:32Speaker 2: different except for one thing. There's one thing that stood
- 0:35Speaker 2: out as being very, very different that I kept it
- 0:41Speaker 2: forgetting every restaurant I went to. I didn't realize this
- 0:44Speaker 2: American flags.
- 0:46Speaker 1: No.
- 0:47Speaker 2: It is interesting seeing Canadian flags and thinking, oh, yeah,
- 0:50Speaker 2: they're flying that just like we fly on our flag,
- 0:52Speaker 2: because they're like like their country and whatnot. At a restaurant,
- 0:59Speaker 2: I kept attempting to hand them my credit card and
- 1:02Speaker 2: they're like.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 1:04Speaker 2: You must be from the United States. We do not
- 1:07Speaker 2: touch the credit cards here in Canada. I'm like what.
- 1:11Speaker 2: And I had a couple of different waiters explain to
- 1:13Speaker 2: me how, yeah, I know in Canada, I was down
- 1:15Speaker 2: in the United States. First of all, several waiters has
- 1:18Speaker 2: said I was down in the United States last year
- 1:21Speaker 2: for the first time, and I thought, you live within
- 1:25Speaker 2: a couple hundred miles in the United States, greatest country
- 1:27Speaker 2: it's ever existed. You've never gone interesting?
- 1:30Speaker 1: Okay, damn Canucks.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Anyway, I was there at a restaurant and I gave
- 1:33Speaker 2: him my credit card and the guy went left with it,
- 1:35Speaker 2: and I chased him down. I had to chase him
- 1:37Speaker 2: all the way to the kitchen, and he was like,
- 1:39Speaker 2: this is the way we do it in the United States.
- 1:41Speaker 2: But yeah, they think it's nuts that you give your
- 1:46Speaker 2: credit card to somebody and then they go and you know,
- 1:50Speaker 2: run it through the machine and come back and bring
- 1:52Speaker 2: you your bill. They just think that's so insane.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Like going to stop and order a suit or something
- 1:59Speaker 1: with it on his way.
- 2:01Speaker 2: I had multiple different waiters or waitresses explain to me
- 2:04Speaker 2: how Yeah, they immediately had to log on to see
- 2:07Speaker 2: if they had spent any money or done anything or
- 2:10Speaker 2: stolen their information. Where I said, you know, I give
- 2:13Speaker 2: my credit card. There probably days where I give my
- 2:14Speaker 2: credit card to four different people in a day, and
- 2:17Speaker 2: I'd ever think twice about it. Oh that's crazy, So yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 2: they got it. They do not touch your credit card
- 2:23Speaker 2: they bring either go up to the machine or they
- 2:25Speaker 2: bring the machine there and then you do it, because
- 2:27Speaker 2: it would be like robbing you to touch your.
- 2:30Speaker 1: Credit card for summer, which is interesting because Canadians have
- 2:33Speaker 1: such a reputation as being friendly, earnest, neighborly, don't lock
- 2:38Speaker 1: the door if they have the presumption of thievery.
- 2:41Speaker 2: Yes, they don't lock their doors, and they are they
- 2:44Speaker 2: are very polite. And then and then I was driving
- 2:47Speaker 2: through parts of the country where you can't imagine any
- 2:49Speaker 2: crime happening of any kind. But yeah, they assume that
- 2:54Speaker 2: any just to be normal, that if you had somebody's
- 2:57Speaker 2: credit card you're immediately going to buy a.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Car or something like it, wouldn't get caught. I don't.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I just thought that was funny. On the other hand,
- 3:05Speaker 2: I do think it's interesting, and we've talked about this
- 3:06Speaker 2: many times over the years. It is amazing that I
- 3:11Speaker 2: hand my credit card to some appierce trando who disappears
- 3:16Speaker 2: for half an hour and he can write down the numbers,
- 3:19Speaker 2: the little three numbered thing on the back, everything he
- 3:22Speaker 2: needs to immediately go on Amazon and by whatever the
- 3:24Speaker 2: hell he wants.
- 3:26Speaker 1: And we don't ship it to his cousin so yeah,
- 3:28Speaker 1: it needs no proof. Yeah, this is giving me a complex.
- 3:32Speaker 2: But I've never had anything bad happen. If any of
- 3:34Speaker 2: you ever had anything bad happened that you could trace
- 3:36Speaker 2: to a waiter, I haven't.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I think once something funky happened and it and it
- 3:43Speaker 1: might have been a fast food not a fast food,
- 3:45Speaker 1: but like a pizza joint. They had a rogue employee.
- 3:47Speaker 1: But it was a minor occurrence in my life. I
- 3:49Speaker 1: can't even remember the particulars. You know what, always a
- 3:52Speaker 1: guy who I when I'm done, I'm done. I want
- 3:55Speaker 1: to get up, I want to go. Nothing makes me
- 3:58Speaker 1: more insane than waiting all of a sudden, the way
- 4:00Speaker 1: the servers disappeared. You can't get the check, you can't
- 4:04Speaker 1: pay the check, and then maybe finally you flag somebody down,
- 4:08Speaker 1: they take your credit card. Ten minutes go by. Oh
- 4:10Speaker 1: I get murderous. I just want to leave. I wish
- 4:13Speaker 1: there was like you know, they walk around with a
- 4:15Speaker 1: little machines sometimes where you do it right at the table,
- 4:17Speaker 1: which saves the back and forth. I wish those were
- 4:20Speaker 1: mounted in the table. You know what, when I'm done,
- 4:23Speaker 1: just let me do my card.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Goron, you need to eat it. Red Robin more often.
- 4:28Speaker 1: Texas Roadhouse they have that as well. They leave it
- 4:30Speaker 1: at the table.
- 4:31Speaker 2: All of those what are those places called, they got
- 4:34Speaker 2: a casual fast casual, I guess all those places have
- 4:38Speaker 2: a little thing at the table. Yeah, and you do
- 4:40Speaker 2: everything at the table and it's fantastic, and yeah, you.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Can get out of there.
- 4:43Speaker 3: It's got the big red light at the top until
- 4:45Speaker 3: you pay, and then it turns green. You're like, let's go.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so they can just look across the restaurant and see, okay,
- 4:49Speaker 2: that person paid.
- 4:50Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, it's really weird. During the show today,
- 4:53Speaker 1: we're talking about the GLP ones that jack has started
- 4:56Speaker 1: thanks to a fake online rubber stampy doctor.
- 5:00Speaker 2: It was probably a real doctor, but I don't think
- 5:01Speaker 2: they cared about.
- 5:02Speaker 1: Doctor Conrad Murray.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Wow, that's a throwback. That's Jacko's doctor, right, Yeah, yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 2: I should ask her for some of the milk. Well,
- 5:16Speaker 2: I had her on the zoom screen.
- 5:18Speaker 1: It's right, just to help me sleep. I was thinking about,
- 5:22Speaker 1: you know, going to a place like that that I
- 5:24Speaker 1: thought because I'm thinking about the GLP one thing. I know,
- 5:28Speaker 1: it would be better for my health in a lot
- 5:29Speaker 1: of ways. And you know, it's hard to lose weight
- 5:31Speaker 1: at this at this age. But I had this feeling
- 5:35Speaker 1: of disappointment. Oh, I wouldn't enjoy going to a place
- 5:38Speaker 1: like that and getting a nice big burger or anything.
- 5:41Speaker 1: You would stomp out that enjoyment if I was on
- 5:43Speaker 1: that drug.
- 5:44Speaker 3: Will No, it doesn't take the craving completely away. It
- 5:48Speaker 3: just you wouldn't finish the burger probably.
- 5:50Speaker 1: But you get the pleasure from the eating. You just
- 5:54Speaker 1: eat less of it. Yeah, you just eat less. Okay,
- 5:56Speaker 1: all right, I gots to have my epicurean pleasures. Oh,
- 5:59Speaker 1: I just got to.
- 6:00Speaker 3: I've been on it for I smashed half of a
- 6:03Speaker 3: delightful club sandwich this weekend and I have to take
- 6:05Speaker 3: home later which I enjoyed later on in the day.
- 6:08Speaker 2: I have never described a club sandwhich is delightful.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Oh, being an old farger, I already will just you know,
- 6:15Speaker 1: cut something in half and take half of it home.
- 6:17Speaker 1: So yeah, all right, all right, I'm back on board.
- 6:20Speaker 1: Maybe I get a talk.
- 6:21Speaker 2: I'll be reporting this week because I should note. I
- 6:23Speaker 2: should have my first experience today. I took the injection yesterday.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Oh do I want to eat?
- 6:29Speaker 2: And what's it like when I eat? I can't wait
- 6:30Speaker 2: to see.
- 6:30Speaker 1: We should put a scale in the studio and have
- 6:32Speaker 1: you weigh yourself every day? Yeah?
- 6:34Speaker 2: I do weigh myself every day at home half for
- 6:36Speaker 2: many many years.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Yeah, me too, and I will.
- 6:39Speaker 2: We'll see what happened.
- 6:41Speaker 1: So during the show today, the radio show, which of
- 6:43Speaker 1: course becomes the Armstrong and Getty on demand podcast, we
- 6:46Speaker 1: were talking about this fabulous Canadian writer who came up
- 6:50Speaker 1: with a list of what was woke one in response
- 6:54Speaker 1: to AOC's infamous recent quote.
- 6:57Speaker 2: Woke one was crazy.
- 7:00Speaker 1: And she laughed at h oh, even though I was
- 7:02Speaker 1: the one pushing it, and then everybody and I would
- 7:05Speaker 1: punish you and ruin your career if you didn't go
- 7:07Speaker 1: along with it, but let's not worry about it. And
- 7:10Speaker 1: we went through a big chunk of his list of
- 7:14Speaker 1: what was woke And I'm going to go through the
- 7:16Speaker 1: first part really quickly because we covered it already. But
- 7:19Speaker 1: it's all significant major publications that were posting these articles
- 7:23Speaker 1: and opinion pieces and stuff. So I'll zoom through the
- 7:26Speaker 1: first part and then we'll get onto the stuff we
- 7:27Speaker 1: didn't touch on because it's worth it. Let's see that
- 7:32Speaker 1: woke was believing black people are so mentally weak and
- 7:34Speaker 1: inferior that activist pressured companies to stop accurately describing the products.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Was lorial removing words like whitening from all their skincare products.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I can't believe that even happened.
- 7:45Speaker 1: Universities published Surviving Whiteness and White People guides for their students.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Professors saying when is it okay to kill whites and
- 7:55Speaker 1: then saying his white genocide tweet has the university support
- 7:59Speaker 1: canceling modes. Mozart, a museum curator, was forced out in
- 8:03Speaker 1: San Francisco after saying yes, I will still collect art
- 8:06Speaker 1: from white men. Remember he was forced out for that.
- 8:10Speaker 1: A transgender musician played the keyboard with her penis on
- 8:14Speaker 1: TV on the BBC and the Uh the Daily Mail
- 8:19Speaker 1: just reported her penis okay to.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Be a pretty simplistic song.
- 8:25Speaker 1: Well, it depends, Uh, it depends. A lot of the
- 8:28Speaker 1: best rifts or rifts are simple. Uh. Let's see declaring
- 8:32Speaker 1: Paw Patrol and Thomas.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Dong Dong Dong Dong dung dong.
- 8:38Speaker 1: You gotta say tong, you know, like like the uh
- 8:44Speaker 1: like I just happened to hear the cures not Friday
- 8:49Speaker 1: Am in love? Uh, what's the one.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Do do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do Do
- 8:55Speaker 2: Do Do Do Do do do?
- 8:58Speaker 1: Uh? That was a uh, what's the what the hell's
- 9:01Speaker 1: the name of that song? Just like heavn M. You
- 9:05Speaker 1: could play that riff with your deck.
- 9:07Speaker 2: It's crank crank crank, crank crank crank.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Yeah. No, no, that's not helping.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Uh.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Anyway, back to the list declaring Paul Patrol and oh,
- 9:17Speaker 1: for God's sake, declaring Paw Patrol and Thomas the tank
- 9:21Speaker 1: engine fascist. That was woke one. Uh, capitalizing black but
- 9:26Speaker 1: not capitalizing white because whites are soulless zombies. Let's see
- 9:31Speaker 1: complaining about fast food, telling a three year old boy
- 9:34Speaker 1: to transition from jack to Jackie in the major media,
- 9:37Speaker 1: or a sixteen year old boy claiming, uh, white people
- 9:41Speaker 1: are killing minorities because they have to breathe in pollution,
- 9:45Speaker 1: putting rapists male rapists in women's prisons, then insisting that
- 9:50Speaker 1: the victims refer to the rapist as she and her
- 9:54Speaker 1: at the trial in California. No, woke was telling white
- 9:59Speaker 1: people they're racist if they're attracted to black people, and
- 10:02Speaker 1: wok was telling white people the racist if they're not
- 10:04Speaker 1: attracted to black people. Let's see, woke was telling black
- 10:09Speaker 1: people are too dumb to excel in maths, so we
- 10:11Speaker 1: need to change you mass standards for them.
- 10:13Speaker 2: That other one about attracted or not attracted. That's the
- 10:15Speaker 2: heart of the whole anti racist nonsense. That's so much
- 10:19Speaker 2: of the intelligent you have bought in there for a while.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Saying you're not racist is proof that you're racist.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Okay, right here we go, right, But saying you are
- 10:31Speaker 1: racist is also proof that you're racist, of.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Course, because you just stated you're a racist. But exactly
- 10:36Speaker 2: saying you're not racist is proof the.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Well, that's even better proof. So you can't win, so
- 10:41Speaker 1: shut up. We have taken over your institution.
- 10:44Speaker 2: It's as simple as that.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It's the new Marxist technique anyway. Also, orchestras shouldn't be
- 10:50Speaker 1: color blind any more. Dogs are racist. Coronavirus was racist.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Let's see racist women. Women have always been part of
- 10:58Speaker 1: white supremacy. Tomboys the racist history of celebrating American tomboys.
- 11:03Speaker 1: The following things are also racists. Jesus chess golf tournaments,
- 11:07Speaker 1: cow's milk, Lord of the Rings, cereal boxes, soap talking,
- 11:11Speaker 1: while white reaction memes with black people in them, peanut
- 11:14Speaker 1: butter and jelly sand, which is jogging, interior design, surfing,
- 11:20Speaker 1: the Smurfs, Mary Poppins, classical music, Earthquake signs soap pretty much,
- 11:27Speaker 1: and then he gets into the part that we didn't
- 11:29Speaker 1: cover on the air. Pretty much. The only thing in
- 11:32Speaker 1: the world that isn't racist is vegans. Just kidding, of
- 11:34Speaker 1: course vegans are racist. From Vice. Why so many white
- 11:38Speaker 1: supremacists are into veganism? From Hitler to present day national
- 11:42Speaker 1: socialists with YouTube cooking channels, the far rights anti media
- 11:45Speaker 1: ideology runs surprisingly deep. That's right. When I meet a vegan,
- 11:49Speaker 1: they're usually a right winger.
- 11:51Speaker 2: That's right, almost always God, they're all over Trader Joe's.
- 11:57Speaker 1: You might think, well, with all this racism out there,
- 11:59Speaker 1: I should extra hard not to be racist. Bad news, friends,
- 12:02Speaker 1: trying too hard not to be racist is racist. And
- 12:05Speaker 1: here's an article from prominent website. Sorry, white people, trying
- 12:08Speaker 1: too hard not to be racist is low key kind
- 12:10Speaker 1: of racist. Then woke was when a breakfast company analogized
- 12:15Speaker 1: for hiring a black woman is the face of their
- 12:17Speaker 1: brand for the purpose of forward progress on racial equality.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Uh woke? Oh oh, I'm sorry. The apologized for hiring
- 12:25Speaker 1: a black woman is the face of their brand. Woke
- 12:27Speaker 1: did not explain exactly how this move makes any progress
- 12:30Speaker 1: toward racial equality. That's when the Aunt Jemima brand changed
- 12:34Speaker 1: their name and removed the image of Aunt Jemima based
- 12:36Speaker 1: on a racial stereotype.
- 12:37Speaker 2: That's right, Yeah, but.
- 12:40Speaker 1: Nobody explained how that advanced anything.
- 12:42Speaker 2: They replaced her with like a modern black woman.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Yeah, no, that wasn't no, they chucked her because she
- 12:49Speaker 1: was black. Oh, just the name. Yeah, I think they
- 12:54Speaker 1: bought her back was a win. A rice company also
- 12:57Speaker 1: decided they did not want black people on their packaging
- 13:00Speaker 1: Uncle Pan's Rice, so they removed the beloved black face
- 13:02Speaker 1: of the brand. They did this so no more black
- 13:04Speaker 1: people would be killed by cops.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Wolk did not.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Explain how this move would affect the number of black
- 13:10Speaker 1: people being killed by cops. Let's see headspan.
- 13:16Speaker 2: And of course, if you're a product that only had
- 13:18Speaker 2: white people on it, that would make you racist. But
- 13:20Speaker 2: if you put black people on it, then you're racist, don'tkay,
- 13:22Speaker 2: So you can't win.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Was when woke is when you had to attend this
- 13:28Speaker 1: woman's class where she would call you racist and demand
- 13:31Speaker 1: you send her money for six hours in order to
- 13:33Speaker 1: keep your job. Woke was in doctors advising their obese
- 13:37Speaker 1: black patients. Was white supremacy, Scientific American the racist roots
- 13:41Speaker 1: of fighting obesity. Oh my god. Woke was when very
- 13:45Speaker 1: serious people were very concerned about the skin color of
- 13:47Speaker 1: the people who made their beer. Here's from the Sociology
- 13:50Speaker 1: of Diversity, Beer and racism. How beer became white, why
- 13:54Speaker 1: it matters, and the movements to change it. Woke was
- 13:57Speaker 1: when canceling Abraham Lincoln for the crime of check notes,
- 14:00Speaker 1: freeing the slaves. Woke was the unbearable whiteness era. Here's
- 14:06Speaker 1: the Sierra Clubs article the Unbearable Whiteness of hiking and
- 14:09Speaker 1: how to Solve it, or from the conversation the unbearable.
- 14:13Speaker 2: White Whiteness of hiking.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Or the unbearable whiteness of cycling. Woke was when white
- 14:19Speaker 1: people were told it was racist to be polite to
- 14:21Speaker 1: black people. Here's an instruction thing I think this is
- 14:24Speaker 1: from a university. Be mindful of open Oh I'm sorry,
- 14:27Speaker 1: it was corporate education. Be mindful of opening up meetings
- 14:29Speaker 1: and interactions with questions like how are you or how's
- 14:32Speaker 1: your weekend? Recognize that by doing so you can potentially
- 14:36Speaker 1: be re triggering what your black colleagues are experiencing or
- 14:40Speaker 1: dismissing their experience by pretending all is normal.
- 14:43Speaker 2: It's not and hasn't been for a long time. So
- 14:48Speaker 2: like it was in a hiking country. Did a fair
- 14:51Speaker 2: amount of hiking courseman in Canada, which is pretty white,
- 14:54Speaker 2: But I don't think I saw a single Black person hiking. Now,
- 14:57Speaker 2: if black people, for whatever reason aren't into hiking, is
- 15:00Speaker 2: that because black people are being kept out of hiking
- 15:04Speaker 2: by big racist hiking at the ink or.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Big boot, big boulder. I don't know. I don't know.
- 15:18Speaker 1: And he says, all this nonsense is really just scratching
- 15:21Speaker 1: the surface. Seeing it all collected here in one place,
- 15:26Speaker 1: it is easy to see how deeply malignant, divisive, and
- 15:29Speaker 1: hateful woke was, and how dysfunctional disordered the people who
- 15:32Speaker 1: pushed it on society for so long must be. It
- 15:35Speaker 1: is clear that these people should never be allowed to
- 15:37Speaker 1: take power. Seeing this laid out, it's no wonder racial
- 15:40Speaker 1: tensions and racial divisiveness have been on the rise. It's
- 15:43Speaker 1: coming from the quote anti racists. There wasn't enough actual
- 15:47Speaker 1: racism in society for the far left to retain relevance
- 15:50Speaker 1: or takeover institutions, I would add, so they spend decades
- 15:53Speaker 1: creating as much of it as they could. So the
- 15:56Speaker 1: next time someone tries to dismiss woke or laugh it
- 15:58Speaker 1: off as some online cooks or maybe well mean, well
- 16:01Speaker 1: meaning kindness that just went too far, don't allow them
- 16:04Speaker 1: to sweep this under the rug. Only by fully realizing
- 16:06Speaker 1: how grotesque and malevolent this movement and the people who
- 16:09Speaker 1: pushed it was, can we ever help hope to prevent
- 16:11Speaker 1: it from coming back.
- 16:13Speaker 2: I actually want to read some of those articles that
- 16:15Speaker 2: you mentioned. I'd like to read about the unbearable whiteness
- 16:18Speaker 2: of hiking and listen to their crap arguments about it's racist.
- 16:24Speaker 2: I can't imagine what it is.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Well, it's the whole disparate impact thing. In a way,
- 16:29Speaker 1: if you look at like a bowling alley and it's
- 16:31Speaker 1: a bunch of white Wisconsinites and Chicagoans, that's proof it's
- 16:36Speaker 1: it's racist. That's just proof.
- 16:39Speaker 2: So the idea would be, if there aren't many white
- 16:41Speaker 2: people hiking, something is being done, because that's what desperate
- 16:45Speaker 2: impact means. Something is being done to discourage or keep
- 16:49Speaker 2: black people from hiking.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Don't ever trusting. Well, I don't, but if you clever,
- 16:56Speaker 1: people are saying, well, so the wud I'm sorry the nbcist.
- 17:00Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no no no. Remember, according to
- 17:04Speaker 1: the anti racist crowds, only white people can be racist
- 17:09Speaker 1: because racism is the expression of power, and the black
- 17:13Speaker 1: people don't have power, so they can't be racist.
