- 0:00Speaker 1: We're glad that you have made it part of your day.
- 0:02Thank you very much for joining us. Craig Way alongside
- 0:05the producer Cameron Parker, with you up till five o'clock.
- 0:08Then I'm scurrying. I don't use the word scurry. That
- 0:13often makes me think of like an eight year old
- 0:16trying to or a you know, trying to get to
- 0:18a playground, or a squirrel, the squirrel with a nut
- 0:23kind of racing away scurrying. But I am scurry over
- 0:28to Pluckers the West Campus location twenty twenty two year
- 0:34grad Ryan me again, your favorite wing flavor is garlic palm.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Driver up there.
- 0:39Speaker 1: Okay, you know they have a spicy garlic palm. Have
- 0:44you ever tried that?
- 0:45Speaker 2: Not a big spicy person, but I have before. I
- 0:48think they've gotten it mixed up before where they give
- 0:50me this spicy and I'm like, why am I sweating
- 0:52eating garlic palm? And then I realized, oh, there is
- 0:56a spicy flavor.
- 0:58Speaker 1: I'm with you on the spicy, but but I did
- 1:01like the spicy lemon pepper. It was good. And those
- 1:04were like customer fans suggested ones flavors that they came
- 1:09up with. They rolling in the rolling in medium, it's
- 1:12it's not Pluckers but Mondays. After Steve Sarkisian's Monday press
- 1:17conference and before the player availability comes in, they'll bring
- 1:21in Cregos and it's wings and it's lemon Pepper, and
- 1:25I think there's the regular buffalo. The lemon Pepper's good
- 1:27from Crego's okay good. I have not had Pluckers Lemon Peer.
- 1:33I just had a couple of weeks ago. Yeah, it's
- 1:36really really good. As we mentioned, we always open up
- 1:42the uh text line for your for your questions and
- 1:49your comments. If you'd like to visit with us, all
- 1:55you have to do is UH text the word tech
- 2:00follow by your question or comment to eight one five
- 2:05three zero. So that's the word Texas, follow by your
- 2:08question or comment to eight one five three zero. Standard
- 2:12messaging and data rates may apply. Mine act apparently dropped out.
- 2:16I got to pull it back up here. Do we
- 2:17have a hanging chad of swords out there that we
- 2:21need to address here that you mentioned?
- 2:22Speaker 2: That was it Stevie Nicks appearing on SNL. Yes, someone Texans.
- 2:28It's got to be a record for years in between appearances.
- 2:32This textra was saying it's forty one years since she
- 2:34last appeared Wow on Saturday Night Live.
- 2:38Speaker 1: So she would have been If it's forty one years ago,
- 2:40that's right in the thick of the eighth three, right
- 2:43in the thick of the Fleetwood Mac era. If it's
- 2:46been that long, Wow did not realize that it had been.
- 2:50That would also tell me that if that's the case,
- 2:53that would also tell me that that Fleetwood Mac did
- 2:58not appear after like after the Room album or something.
- 3:01You would think it would because it would be you know,
- 3:05that was such a massive hit record for them, just
- 3:12to just a transcendent album. It was so anyway, But that.
- 3:17Speaker 2: And also that Saturday Night Live movie that is about
- 3:21the first hour SNL that came out this past week,
- 3:23good reviews. I wanted to see it last night. I
- 3:25couldn't get to it in time. But for those who
- 3:28have seen it, please let us own the text line
- 3:30because it looked looked pretty funny. It's hard to replicate
- 3:34those characters, right, Chevy, Chase, Belushill, all those guys, But
- 3:39it looked pretty funny.
- 3:40Speaker 1: If I could get enough time to be able to
- 3:45do that these days, if I could get enough time
- 3:49to be able to do that. I would certainly do that.
- 3:50And some folks as, wait, a MANU, didn't you go
- 3:52see a concert last night? I did. I did, and
- 3:55that was something that was playing months ago. In fact,
- 3:58I had the tickets for that concert for jeff Lin's Elo.
- 4:04I had those tickets before we even knew the SEC
- 4:08football schedule or at least the dates. Knew the opponents,
- 4:11but didn't know the dates on those. So that's how
- 4:14long ago that was. That was. It was a long
- 4:17time ago when that happened.
- 4:19Speaker 2: But one of their message coming in just the thought
- 4:22Texas wins, guessing Texas wins this game, or Texas wins
- 4:27up to game with A and M. So they went
- 4:29out until A and M. They may already be an
- 4:32SEC game. Possibly A and M may have to beat
- 4:34Texas to get in. Then they would play in the
- 4:36SEC championship. That's the thought that I talked to a
- 4:39friend before I think yesterday, was saying that before the
- 4:42A and M game, because that's one of the reasons
- 4:44why that game scares me so much, not only the
- 4:46fact that A and I think is actually a really
- 4:48good football team and they have a great defense, and
- 4:50Mike Coles actually really could coach, is that in that game,
- 4:53Texas may already have clinched and SEC title appearance, and
- 4:56A and M, who currently is undefeated and the only
- 4:59other undefeated the SEC team besides Texas LSU, who they play.
- 5:04If they lose that game or maybe lose one in between,
- 5:07then they could go in that game against Texas needing
- 5:08to win to get into the SEC title game, and
- 5:10it could just be like the Army Navy.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Thing, Yeah yeah, where they would need to win, and
- 5:16that the Army Navy thing that with the dynamic we
- 5:19talked about is it's conceivable would not go into the
- 5:24what maybe it would go into the inconceivable file if
- 5:27this actually happens. But it is. Both Army and Navy
- 5:32are unbeaten. They both have won six games for the
- 5:36six and zero for the first time since nineteen forty five,
- 5:40and Army won the national championship that year. And it's
- 5:45important to point out that Boat still have to play
- 5:47Notre Dame and they're both playing Notre Dame in the
- 5:50metropolitan New York area. It's not a road game. It's
- 5:56like the old days you play in New York. This
- 5:57is how like the old days it is Navy, if
- 6:01I remember correctly, is playing them at the Meadowlands. Army
- 6:06is playing them at wait for it, Yankee Stadium. Ooh,
- 6:10like it used to be the old days when they
- 6:12did that. And of course the pin strike balls at
- 6:14Yankee Stadium every year anyway. But if if both of
- 6:20those teams, Army and Navy both run the table the
- 6:24rest of their schedule, inclusive of wins over Notre Dame,
- 6:27they both would have wins over Notre Dame and they're
- 6:30both eleven and oh would be their actual records going
- 6:37into what would be the American Conference Championship. They would
- 6:41be because if they've done that, they have vanquished all
- 6:45contenders at that point in the American So you'd have
- 6:48Army versus Navy for the American Conference Championship. Then they
- 6:55would play and the winner of that game would get
- 7:00an automatic bid at that point, because I think at
- 7:03that point they're going to be the highest ranked G
- 7:09five team. Even if Boise State runs the table, I
- 7:15think wins the Mountain West has one more data point
- 7:20because of winning the Mountain West Conference championship. In fact,
- 7:24they would at that point they would be twelve and one.
- 7:28The winner of the Army Navy. The winner of the
- 7:32American Conference Championship game between Army and Navy under this
- 7:36scenario would be eleven in one because they still have
- 7:40to play each other the next week and that game
- 7:42does not factor into the college football playoff. Now, I
- 7:47will tell you this, there are probably folks in both
- 7:51West Point and Annapolis who are kind of going, you know,
- 7:55our game is unlike any other. But if we get
- 8:00nosed out on a data point because our game happens
- 8:03the week after the playoff field is announced, that's going
- 8:08to bite them in the butt. That's unfortunate that it
- 8:11would happen that way. But I would say this, a
- 8:15twelve and zero Army or Navy team twelve and zero,
- 8:20including winning the American Conference Championship over the other and
- 8:26having went over to to day, that would nose out
- 8:30a twelve and one Boise State team whose only loss
- 8:34would beat Oregon. I think that it would just the
- 8:39committee would then slay. Now let me also say this
- 8:43the decent chance they both get in, yeah, in a
- 8:46twelve team playoff. So you know, Greg Tepper from Dave
- 8:51Campbells Texas Football Magazine raised the issue. Can you imagine
- 8:54if they both went into the game eleven and zero
- 8:58and say Army wins, Navy wins, whichever won one of
- 9:01them wins to get to twelve and zero and earn
- 9:05the automatic bid in there, and then they play the
- 9:08next week, and the team that lost the week before
- 9:10in the American Conference championship game wins the rematch in
- 9:14the regular season finale, that maybe they both get in.
- 9:17I don't think that would happen, especially especially if Boise
- 9:22State runs the table. And there are other G five
- 9:25contenders as well, but those are the main ones, those
- 9:28are the main contenders. Toward that end, I was mentioning,
- 9:33you know, Heather Dinnich had her ranking of what would
- 9:38be the top twelve, and again, as she pointed out,
- 9:40it would be flipped around and worked around because really,
- 9:45you know, each power for conference champion SEC, Big ten, ACC,
- 9:51Big twelve, those four conference champions will all draw a
- 9:55first round. By then it's five through twelve, and of
- 9:58course the five, six, seven, and eight eight seeds hosting
- 10:01first round games. Well, toward that end, Austin Mock for
- 10:08the Athletic draws up his projection and he has a
- 10:12bracket every week. So this is always kind of fun
- 10:17to look at as well. Put it this way, it's
- 10:19more fun than projecting who's going to be in the
- 10:24dollar general whatever that sort of thing. It just is
- 10:30under his projection. How about this, Texas would be the
- 10:35one seed, Oregon would be the two. You're ready for
- 10:38the three and four? The three he's got Miami and
- 10:41the four. Yes, Iowa State, Texas As the one would
- 10:46face the winner of the eight to nine matchup. How
- 10:48about this matchup Alabama Clemson and that would be in
- 10:52touchcalusive as the higher seed. Iowa State would face the
- 10:56winner of the five to twelve matchup Ohio State and
- 10:59Boise State. That would be in Columbus. Oregon is the
- 11:03two seed would play the winner of the seven versus
- 11:05ten matchup, which is projected by Austin Mock to be
- 11:09Georgia and Notre Dame and Miami. The three seed would
- 11:14face the winner of an all Big ten matchup. Six
- 11:17seed Penn State, eleven seed Indiana. Find out a little
- 11:21more about Indiana. I have been game this week against Nebraska,
- 11:23but it is at home. So that's that's his projection
- 11:27right now. And he's got teams on the bubble. Kansas
- 11:29State Tennessee, LSU, UNLV, and yes, Texas A and M.
- 11:35Those are the ones there right now. The percentage chance
- 11:40for Texas to reach the college football playoff, according to
- 11:44the Athletic ninety four percent, to win the conference just
- 11:48forty percent, and to win the national championship just fifteen
- 11:54percent right now, Oregon at ninety four percent, Ohio State
- 11:59at ninety four percent. In fact, Ohio State has the
- 12:01highest percentage chance to win the national championship at twenty
- 12:05one percent, Oregon at eleven percent, even though they just
- 12:08beat Ohio State. Case you're wondering, Texas A and M
- 12:12twenty seven percent chance according to the Athletic to make
- 12:16the college football playoff. All right, So there you are.
- 12:19Oh and about Army and Navy. Navy a ten percent
- 12:23chance to get in, Army twenty three percent chance to
- 12:29get in the playoff. So there it is, all right.
- 12:31Up next, we're gonna hear from long Word, said Coutch
- 12:32Steve Sarkishan here on sports Radio AM thirteen under the
- 12:35zone of the iHeartRadio app.
