- 1:05Of course the Knicks are going to give me agita.
- 1:07They always do. And there's a dunk by Clarkson.
- 1:10Well, thank God. All right, we call this all
- 1:12righty then. Alrighty then.
- 1:17Alrighty, Alrighty, Alrighty then.
- 1:25Alrighty then, welcome back to our literary segment.
- 1:29This is the one where we go through Errol's articles and
- 1:32listen up to some of the comments from the redditors who
- 1:36got a chance to read them. If you haven't been following
- 1:38along, go to worldwidesportsradio.com and go
- 1:42take a look at all of our clips as well as all the great writing
- 1:44done by Errol by NR Media himself.
- 1:47Nitin Ramachandra's group of stable of excellent writers, as
- 1:51well as some of our other writers like John Pagnotta suck.
- 1:54My Indo. Many others.
- 1:58Sometimes I get in there too. Let's take a look at a really
- 2:01cool article Errol wrote last week that we have some comments
- 2:04on about the greatest arrows in basketball history.
- 2:09Before we get into the Knicks after this segment as they are
- 2:11finishing up Game 2 right now in the Garden, let's take a look at
- 2:16this article from milkman to Max contracts.
- 2:19How one era grabbed the NBA, shook it by the collar, cashed
- 2:24every check, took over the world and screamed you're all welcome
- 2:29while changing basketball forever.
- 2:31After I read an excerpt from this article, Speedy will read
- 2:34some of your comments and Errol will react.
- 2:36If you want to have your comments read on the air, please
- 2:39follow us on the Reddit pages that we are interacting on
- 2:42again, New York sports loudmouth NYS sports loudmouth.
- 2:48So here we go. Take a look a bunch of great NBA
- 2:51players. Let's get one thing straight
- 2:52before the basketball historians, TikTok scouts, and
- 2:56Couch GM start throwing advanced analytics at my forehead like
- 3:00dodgeballs. You cannot compare eras of NBA
- 3:03basketball like they're Pokémon cards.
- 3:06You can't look that a grainy black and white clip of Bill
- 3:08Russell blocking shots in the 5th row and say, yeah, but can
- 3:12he guard a step back three? And you can't watch Steph Curry
- 3:16pull up from the parking lot and say, yeah, but could he survive
- 3:19getting Clothesline in 1989? Different eras, different rules,
- 3:23different vibes, different levels of violence, but what can
- 3:27you, what you can do, Breakdown each era, respect it, roast it a
- 3:31little because that's what we do.
- 3:33And then figure out which one didn't just dominate, but change
- 3:36the entire DNA of the NBA forever.
- 3:40So here's some of the categories.
- 3:41Errol has the 1950s, sixties, tall guys, set shots, and one
- 3:45absolute alien. The era belonged to two men,
- 3:48Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain. The league had 8 to 14 teams.
- 3:51No 3 point line, talent pool. Not exactly the same.
- 3:54Let's go on to the next one. 1970s, the forgotten error that
- 3:57low key changed everything. Moving on to the Magic Bird
- 4:011980's The NBA gets his swagger back, Magic Johnson versus Larry
- 4:06Bird. This wasn't just basketball,
- 4:07this was cinema. And then we have the Michael
- 4:11Jordan 1990s and the global takeover.
- 4:14Michael Jordan didn't just dominate, he marketed
- 4:17domination. Let's talk numbers. 6
- 4:19championships, 6 finals MVPS, 10 scoring titles, career average,
- 4:2330.1 points per game. And there's this little brand
- 4:26called Air Jordan. Then we got the Kobe, Shaq and
- 4:30identity Crisis era, the 2010 to now, the skill era.
- 4:33Everybody's nice and it's actually ridiculous.
- 4:35Errol, what was your solution? The greatest era, The best era
- 4:40talent, surprisingly, and this was a great article because I
- 4:44didn't see you saying this. Errol top to bottom is today.
- 4:48Why? Skill levels, insane global
- 4:50talent pool, advanced training and analytics.
- 4:54But I know you're going to come back with this one, the era that
- 4:56changed everything, the 19 Geordie 1990s Michael Jordan
- 5:01era. Because without that era, no
- 5:03global NBA explosion, no billion dollar sneaker culture, no
- 5:07player as brand movement, no social media superstar athletes.
- 5:12Jordan didn't just dominate defenders, he dominated culture,
- 5:15business and the planet. Speedy all.
- 5:19Right. I'm going to start with one of
- 5:20the more unique ones. This is infatigable prosperity.
- 5:24So he was actually comparing the sneakers of different eras
- 5:27mainly, but I also mentioned the nutrition recovery methods,
- 5:30self-care habits, cryotherapies, etcetera.
- 5:32But the sneakers were what he was comparison because they
- 5:34weren't a lot of converse Chuck Taylor in the 70s era and the
- 5:38early 80s that he thinks a lot of the players that are already
- 5:40injury prone today would get hurt if they were playing in
- 5:42those. I would agree with him by the
- 5:44way. Thank you.
- 5:46What is his name? Infatigable and.
- 5:48Fatigable, whatever, I'm not going out.
- 5:51I would never be able to do that three times.
- 5:53But I agree with him. I think first of all the
- 5:55sneakers that we have now, there are more injuries now than we've
- 5:59ever seen. I've said that that could be
- 6:01causing the problems right now with the Achilles and the knee
- 6:04injuries that they have. I, I think he's right about
- 6:06that. He's coming.
- 6:07I think the sneaker and and and the transition of sneakers in
- 6:10the 90s was probably the best, but also the 70s they had
- 6:14Converse they have, they had all these other brands that were
- 6:17trying to transition into the 80s and the 90s.
- 6:19So I'd agree with them. All right, this one's more of a
- 6:21simple one. Just Master Teacher 123.
- 6:23The Knick game has never been more talented than it is right
- 6:26now. I would disagree with him.
- 6:29I think the talent in the 90s was just as good as the talent
- 6:31now. I think the athletic gifts that
- 6:33some of these kids have and and the way the NBA has changed with
- 6:36the three points and everything like that, it's definitely
- 6:39different. But I think the 90s game was
- 6:42just so much better than it was what it is right now because of
- 6:46Michael Jordan, because of some of the calm Malones and the
- 6:49David Robertson's and and those guys in the Patrick Ewings, I
- 6:52just thought and Hakeem Olajuwon's that I love to watch
- 6:55play. All right, we'll go to this one
- 6:57now. MKK 4.
- 6:59The 80s era was my favorite as a sports fan.
- 7:00No unrestricted free agency until 88 and a softer salary cap
- 7:04that built better overall rosters, which is something
- 7:06we've heard a lot of. Our guests, our basketball
- 7:08guests have said that the 80s were the best overall.
- 7:10Pure era. Interesting because there was a
- 7:12lot of great players in the 80s. Look at the Celtics the
- 7:14dominates. The dominant part of the 80s was
- 7:17the Celtics, the Lakers, and early in the 80s and and it just
- 7:22to transition right into the Detroit Pistons.
- 7:25So I would agree with him. The 80s was definitely one of
- 7:28the fun times of basketball, but once it transitioned in the 90s
- 7:32and the dominance of the Chicago Bulls, I couldn't stand watching
- 7:34the Chicago Bulls because I'm a Knick fan but I I still think
- 7:37the 90s was the most dominant. All right, let's go to this one
- 7:40with more directed at Michael Jordan.
- 7:42This is Life Familiar 5254 short and played in the crackhead era.
- 7:46He thinks the 2000s and today's game have much more talent.
- 7:52Much more talent. Crackhead era, 2000s today.
- 7:57Gay man. I would disagree.
- 7:59I figured you would. I would disagree.
- 8:01I mean Kobe Bryant was great, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony,
- 8:06those times Team Duncan was at a high level that Kawhi Leonard
- 8:09came out late, late 2000, I mean early.
- 8:12I would say 2006, 2007. I I just disagree.
- 8:18All right, and we'll, we'll write it out with this one.
- 8:21It was ironic because the the handle name is King James 23 and
- 8:25that he's actually taking shots at LeBron.
- 8:27Some people just think LeBron is better than MJ and the world is
- 8:29full of dumb people. I would agree with you.
- 8:32King James I Michael Jordan is on a tower of his own.
- 8:38There is no comparison to Michael Jordan.
- 8:41For anybody to compare LeBron James to Michael Jordan, it's
- 8:44ridiculous. There's nobody.
- 8:46Kobe Bryant is not compared to him.
- 8:48Nobody could be compared to him. I don't care who comes out of
- 8:51the draft this year and it becomes a dominant force.
- 8:53Cooper Flag could be the biggest superstar in the NBA in the
- 8:57future, He's not Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan is on a tower of
- 9:00his own. I agree with him.
- 9:03All right. And that, ladies and gentlemen,
- 9:06is all righty. Then I'm watching this Knick
- 9:08game and it's giving me agit again because the Knicks are
- 9:11slowly letting the Atlanta Hawks come back into this game because
- 9:15they don't play any defense that this is just look at them, the
- 9:19passing just it's horrible. It's horrible by the.
- 9:22Way it's. Horrible.
- 9:23Makes me sick. One day, one day, you'll believe
- 9:25me. What?
- 9:26Are you talking about? This is going to be a tough
- 9:29series. You slept.
- 9:32We're going to blow. Tough series.
- 9:34Tough series. They're going to win.
- 9:36They're going to win four games. They're going to win four games
- 9:38to one. I've already told you that.
- 9:41What did you say that? What?
- 9:42Because they're going to win tonight.
- 9:43No, no. When did you say so?
- 9:45We can go back. I said that the Knicks were
- 9:47going to win four games to 1. I, I said it could go to, it
- 9:49could go 6, but I think no later than 4 to 1.
- 9:52I I think the Knicks are going to beat them 4 to 1.
- 9:54OK. And did that do your job all?
- 9:55Right, all right. The Knicks won game one on
- 9:58Saturday, 113 to one O 2 to take a one nothing series lead over
- 10:04the Hawks. Jalen Bronson led the Knicks
- 10:06with 28 points and seven assists, with 19 of those points
- 10:10coming in the first quarter. Carl Anthony Towns also had 25
- 10:14points, 8 rebounds and four assists, including going 10 for
- 10:1810 from the free throw line. After the Hawks tied the game
- 10:22early in the third quarter, the Knicks led the game for the rest
- 10:27of the way. Despite the Hawks getting it to
- 10:30within four points on many occasions.
- 10:33The Knicks pulled away with fourth with four and 4 1/2
- 10:39minutes left of the fourth quarter with Cat making 33
- 10:44pointers Transition. So, all right, the first game to
- 10:54me watching the New York Knicks is the Carl Anthony Towns
- 10:58disappears. He doesn't.
- 11:00He didn't play very well in the first half.
- 11:03He had two fouls. He had 4/4 giveaways.
- 11:07He didn't play at a high level. The second-half he started to
- 11:11take over. They started to get feed him the
- 11:13ball. He was becoming the number one
- 11:15option when he disappears and it's Jalen Brunson isolation.
- 11:20This is where this team does not play at a high level.
- 11:22You need to get Karl Anthony Towns more involved in the game.
- 11:25If they're going to win the NBA championship this year, Karl
- 11:30Anthony Towns needs to be, he needs to be Robin.
- 11:34If, if Jalen Bronson is Batman, he needs to be everything.
- 11:38And I honestly think they need 2 Batman's.
- 11:40They need Karl Anthony Towns giving you 25 to 27 points, give
- 11:44you 12 rebounds, be dominant and play defense.
- 11:47By the way, Karl Anthony Towns played his best defensive game
- 11:50all season long in game #1 if he plays like that, the Knicks are
- 11:54going to be very, very hard to beat.
- 11:56They just are because when Carl actually puts the time into
- 12:01seeing the picks and and the defensive picks in the
- 12:03transitions and understanding where he needs to be and where
- 12:07he needs to to put himself in front of his offensive defense
- 12:11when he's defending the offensive options.
- 12:14I think that Carl Anthony Towns, if he plays like that, I think
- 12:18he could be so important to this team's run all the way to the
- 12:21NBA Finals. The secret to the Knicks success
- 12:25this year, if they're going to win a championship, it's Carl
- 12:29Anthony Thomas. It's not even an argument.
- 12:32Everybody says, well, Jalen Bronson, he scores 3040 points.
- 12:34We saw when Jalen Bronson scores 40 points, they don't always
- 12:38win. They don't.
- 12:40You need that other option. You need the guy to not
- 12:43disappear in the first half of of the of the first game.
- 12:47He disappeared. He he didn't do anything.
- 12:50He took over the second-half. Jalen Bronson cannot disappear
- 12:53the way he did in the second-half and in the second
- 12:57quarter. He didn't score any points.
- 12:58Scored nineteen the first first quarter and no points in the
- 13:01second quarter and he finally scored his first points, I think
- 13:05with three minutes into the third quarter.
- 13:07You need more from Jaylen Bronson.
- 13:09He needs to give you 30 points a game.
- 13:11When they start to compete against these elite teams,
- 13:14especially the teams like the Celtics, the Cavaliers, we don't
- 13:18even know if Detroit's going to get out of that round.
- 13:20We'll see. I I do believe the Magic has
- 13:23played them hard and I think they have a tremendous size.
- 13:26So the Magic could be very dangerous in that series against
- 13:29Detroit, who don't look like the same team they were in the first
- 13:32half of the NBA season. But the Hawks are a dangerous
- 13:37team because if CJ McCollum is going to give you those points
- 13:42and you're going to get Johnson to give you 30 points every
- 13:44single game, you're going to be in every single game.
- 13:47The Knicks are going to give you a chance to be in every single
- 13:49game. And that's because the Knicks at
- 13:51some points, don't play that tumultuous.
- 13:55What is it tumultuous? Yeah, tumultuous defense that
- 13:59we've seen them play in the fourth quarter in game number
- 14:01one. They sometimes just
- 14:03lackadaisical. They let these teams get back
- 14:06into the game when when the Celtics want to put the foot on
- 14:10the pedal, they put the foot on the pedal.
- 14:12The problem with the Knicks, and I'll say this all the time about
- 14:15the Knicks, they never put the pedal to the metal.
- 14:18They never do. They let these teams get back
- 14:20into the game and, and crawl and crawl and crawl like they're
- 14:24doing right now. It's 100 to 94 with 4 1/2
- 14:27minutes left of the game. They're letting them get back
- 14:29into the game. This game shouldn't even be
- 14:32close. They're much better than the
- 14:33Hawks. They play bet they've played all
- 14:36game better than the Hawks. But the Hawks, they're, they're
- 14:39a sneaky team. They're like an Ant.
- 14:42They're an Ant farm. They play that that, that, that
- 14:45tremendous defense and they can get back in rebounding the ball
- 14:49and transition. They're very fast up and down
- 14:51the court and they're young and there's a three right there.
- 14:53So now they cut it down to three points.
- 14:55So it's typical Knicks right now, typical Knick fashion as
- 14:59they're letting a team that is nowhere close to the talent that
- 15:02they are letting them back in the game.
- 15:04Yeah, You mentioned it in your article last week.
- 15:06You meant this core. You question like how much
- 15:08longer it could go for in the same round.
- 15:09Because we've seen even with Tom Thibodeau coaching there, that a
- 15:12lot of their playoff losses came to lower seeds, that the Knicks
- 15:15were a lot more talented than when you look at Miami,
- 15:18especially in 2023, they were in eighth seed and they were
- 15:20letting Max Streuse and Dave Vincent shoot threes all over
- 15:23them. For a team that was supposed to
- 15:24be very good defensively and one of the better premier defenses
- 15:27in the league, that team. Now, you've also seen instances
- 15:29where they were compensated. Sometimes they let the star
- 15:31player play and they'll do everyone else.
- 15:33That's what happened last year against the Pistons.
- 15:35They let Kate Cook and they stop everyone else.
- 15:37But they're also games where random guys like Tim Hardaway
- 15:39junior went off on them. So.
- 15:41They're only up by 1 now, so that's typical Knicks.
- 15:45And now you're seeing. That same kind of thing where
- 15:46they're doing a good job. Four run right now.
- 15:49They're doing. Oh boy, they're.
- 15:50Doing a pretty good job. Only 15 points with Jaylen
- 15:52Johnson in this game. He had 23 in game one, but
- 15:54they're making him take some tougher shots, which is good.
- 15:56Dyson Daniels has been a non factor offensively, but CG
- 15:59McCollum has now gone off and now coming has gone off like you
- 16:01have other instances of like that.
- 16:02Just letting these random guys back in the same kind of thing.
- 16:04Like you said, our old the offense Josh Hart and OG out and
- 16:07we both OR and Mikhail Bridges both had 11 points only. 11
- 16:10Here's when the Hawks take the lead, by the way.
- 16:12Yes. Oh boy, don't tell.
- 16:14Tell me so. And in this game you got more
- 16:17ballot scoring. But no, which is supposed to be
- 16:18their prerogatory at the trade deadline.
- 16:20So yeah, the Knicks are stuck in our Danny crisis.
- 16:22Qi didn't haven't been losing in five.
- 16:23I had the Hawks losing in six, the Knicks winning a six.
- 16:26But this is definitely they cannot lose this game.
- 16:29Yeah, they keep playing this way for what's supposed to be the
- 16:32the best fourth quarter team as well in the Eastern Conference.
- 16:35Yeah. They're top heavy, man.
- 16:37That's the problem with the Knicks.
- 16:38They're top heavy. They they only got 2 guys that
- 16:41they really actually played through.
- 16:42They're hoping that the other guys step up and hit big shots,
- 16:45whatever, but they're not. If CJ had an incredible game
- 16:49Game 1, Johnson had a credible game, game one as well.
- 16:52I think it was a little slow picking it, picking up the point
- 16:56spread and whatnot. But at the end of the day, I
- 16:58told you guys from the beginning, Atlanta Hawks is one
- 17:00of those teams. I definitely still think that,
- 17:03you know, the New York Nets will put it out, but the Nets are top
- 17:06heavy man. And the last thing you want to
- 17:07do is go to a Game 6 with the Orlando host and then have to
- 17:11face Boston cesses in the second round.
- 17:12It's just going to be it's going to be a recipe for disaster.
- 17:15And I think this is the last year this is this is all in auto
- 17:18be all. At the end of the day, if you
- 17:20guys don't win it this year, they're going to blow up
- 17:22everything, including the front office.
- 17:24I, I do not, they're going to blow up the, the front office,
- 17:27but I, I do believe that this is the last year where you'll see
- 17:30all these players on this roster.
- 17:32I, I don't think you'll see OG or Mikhail Bridges on this
- 17:34roster or you'll, you'll see one of them off this roster because
- 17:37you know they're going to go and they're going to put all their
- 17:39pigs in the Giannis basket in the offseason.
- 17:42If they fail to win this year. I, I think they can win with
- 17:45this team. This roster is definitely good
- 17:46enough. It's just they never put the
- 17:48pedal to the metal. They let these teams come back.
- 17:50It has nothing to do with the Hawks.
- 17:51It's the Knicks. They're throwing up threes.
- 17:53They're they're, they're putting up bad shots.
- 17:56They're some of the stuff. Go to the hole, let them foul
- 18:00you. When you say win and what?
- 18:02What do you mean when you say win?
- 18:05What are you talking about? Let's what?
- 18:06What are you saying? Well, you say win.
- 18:07You say the Mets can definitely win this with this.
- 18:09They can win the championship this year if they play at a high
- 18:11level. Yeah, fish.
- 18:12What you would say? Fish.
- 18:14I'm saying that they're shooting right.
- 18:15Now. They're shooting like crap and
- 18:17they're chucking threes when they didn't need to.
- 18:20It's really not great. You know, game planning here
- 18:23when you have an 8 point lead for most of the game.
- 18:25They got 9 points in the fourth quarter.
- 18:27Yep. They they can't hit the
- 18:29broadside of anything. Brunson's shooting like 30%
- 18:32tonight. It just got a lot of defenders
- 18:34to throw at Bronson. He's tired.
- 18:36He had a long game, Game 1, he went too hard, he worked too
- 18:39hard to get his points and it's out of and it's going to
- 18:42eventually catch up. He's still human, but it looks
- 18:45good. It's the entertainment and it
- 18:46feels well, but at the end of the day he works way too hard to
- 18:49get the points that he get. You would think, though, if he's
- 18:52the one that's struggling, someone's got to step up and
- 18:55that should be Karl Anthony Towns.
- 18:57And he's just kind of a little too passive in this game right
- 18:59now. He has the advantage on Ocongo.
- 19:02He's got power and size over a Congo.
- 19:04And like, he doesn't have to worry about Ocongo blowing by
- 19:07him. He's not that kind of an
- 19:08offensive player. He should really be dominating
- 19:10this matchup and he is not. They just took the lead by the.
- 19:13Congo, they don't want to. Be Congo is a good defender but
- 19:16he's a leaner big man, so he would think yeah.
- 19:19He don't want to bang. It's all you got to do from a
- 19:21damn game plan is get caught. Anthony times outside, make it
- 19:25kick, let him Chuck up the threes and you could live with
- 19:27that. And where Jenny burns it down.
- 19:30That's been the issue the whole time they have it.
- 19:32The other third and fourth option is inconsistent with with
- 19:35hitting shots, and so that's what you're left with.
- 19:38I just, I'm watching this team right now just completely choke
- 19:42and. You can't go to 6 error.
- 19:43You can't go to. 6 If they lose this game, this is this is no,
- 19:47it's not over. It's it scares you because
- 19:51they're going back to Atlanta and Atlanta plays very well at
- 19:54home. Come on.
- 19:55And it could. They'll win at least one game
- 19:58and Atlanta will go 6. It just it's starting.
- 20:02It's starting to make me think that this is this is not the
- 20:05team that's going to win a championship.
- 20:06You cannot let this young team get confident and and play like
- 20:11this. You're a better team than them.
- 20:12You you played the whole game. You've been pretty much in the
- 20:16lead the whole game. They had a little bit of a lead
- 20:18in the in the they can't hit free throws either.
- 20:21They can't hit free throws either.
- 20:23He. They're tired.
- 20:24He's missing foul shots. It's bad right now.
- 20:27They're tired, they work too hard to get points and that's
- 20:31the problem. That's just what it is.
- 20:34They don't have a secure third or fourth person that can step
- 20:38up and actually hit the shots. So let me give you some of the
- 20:41lines of the box scores right now.
- 20:43O GS got 14 and eight on four of 10 shooting.
- 20:47Towns shooting well, eight of 12/18 and eight, but I'd like to
- 20:51see him take more shots. Josh Hart's got the same amount
- 20:54of shots as Karl Anthony Towns. That doesn't make sense.
- 20:57He's 5 of 11, 15 points, 12 rebounds.
- 21:00McCollum is killing them. McCollum is killing them.
- 21:03Mccollum's great player and offense, but Bridges?
- 21:06Here's the problem. Mikhail Bridges, who they spent
- 21:09five first round picks on has is.
- 21:11Three of nine with 10. Points five, it was five points,
- 21:15but one rebound, 2 assists. He's not doing a whole lot of
- 21:19anything and that's a problem. Even if they blow this one,
- 21:24they're still going to win this series.
- 21:25But you're right, Q, this is not a good sign going forwards if
- 21:28they can't handle a team that really doesn't have much in the
- 21:32terms of a point guard. I'd say Mccollum's more of like
- 21:34a shooting guard. You know, he was not the primary
- 21:36ball handler when he was with Dame time.
- 21:38You know what I mean? Like back in the day.
- 21:40So I, I just don't really, I, I, I think that they should be able
- 21:44to force them to a lot of turnovers in transition like
- 21:47they did in game one. I thought they killed them,
- 21:48especially Hart killed them in game one.
- 21:51Looks like Hart's still doing it, but McHale has disappeared
- 21:54and they're going to need him to show up against the better teams
- 21:57even if they pull this one out. Heart is hustle.
- 21:59He's a he's a defensive guy. He's not you can't rely on him
- 22:02to go out and get you any buckets.
- 22:04You'll be happy if he can, but he's not the guy that you rely
- 22:08on to get buckets. So I would say yeah, he's you
- 22:10guys. He just 0105103.
- 22:14It's been ugly man. It's getting scary out here.
- 22:16You wonder too, like Fish you were talking about a few weeks
- 22:18ago with the Josh Hart playing center reps and trying to be a
- 22:21Draymond Green type role. So I wonder how many times they
- 22:24would have done that in the first half.
- 22:25They were might deter the offense where Q.
- 22:27You're right, he's probably better off being a facilitator
- 22:30on the wing or a facilitator to give Brunson some reps against
- 22:34it so they don't get worn down. What the hell, man?
- 22:37One O 7, one O 3 guys it might be.
- 22:40They're going to, they're going to lose this game.
- 22:43Might be those that one one series and this is the big up
- 22:46time. Yeah.
- 22:47And this is what I'm talking about when you talk about going
- 22:49up against a team that's well equipped and putting people away
- 22:52like Boston, like this, this type of game and effort that you
- 22:55can't have going to the second round.
- 22:57Yeah, well, I, I this, this is this is a terrible loss by the
- 23:01next. You're not winning any games.
- 23:03You scored 12 points in the fourth quarter, Errol.
- 23:05That's crazy, crazy. You're not, you're, you can't,
- 23:09you can't go. You let this young team get
- 23:11confidence and you're now you got to go back to Atlanta and,
- 23:15and a team that's going to just build on this confidence.
- 23:17This is not good for the Knicks. Atlanta going to be on fire too.
- 23:20I might go to that game. It just makes me sick to my
- 23:22stomach. The Knick, I'll tell you this, I
- 23:24don't want to hear any Knick fan on their podcast tell me, oh,
- 23:27we're going to run away with this.
- 23:29We're going to run away. I I knew that the Knicks are
- 23:30going to, they should win this series, but to be embarrassed
- 23:34like this, you went up the whole game, the whole game and you let
- 23:39this team come back and let CJ McCollum score 32 on you old man
- 23:44CJ McCollum. It's embarrassing.
- 23:47That's it's not Jaylen Johnson, it's CJ McCollum.
- 23:49They're actually containing Johnson pretty well.
- 23:51They made him take some touch shots.
- 23:52Now it's 17 points, but for a while he was at 10 and he would
- 23:56they were. He was shooting under 45%.
- 24:00It's the garden, man. The guarded effect.
- 24:02When you playing in the garden, you just play out your mind,
- 24:05man. You guys, you guys should know
- 24:07that by now. The garden effect, man.
- 24:12You, you really like to piss people off, don't you?
- 24:15You just really like to piss people off.
- 24:17You really do. I just, you know, I try to tell
- 24:19you. You can.
- 24:20You can tell me whatever you want.
- 24:21You're a Celtic fan. I'm going to tell you this right
- 24:24now. The Celtics better hope that the
- 24:26Hawks win this series because they don't want to play the
- 24:28Knicks. Because.
- 24:29Play with our B team. Well, yeah, the B team.
- 24:32Go look at the Celtics record against the Knicks this year.
- 24:35Go look at the Celtics record. Yeah, go look at their record
- 24:37against the. Knicks, we're not impressed with
- 24:39you. We've never played you guys for
- 24:40well. It's not over, baby.
- 24:42Not over yet it. Ain't over yet, but it's over.
- 24:441.1 point. It's over.
- 24:46Yeah, it's over. Trust me, it's over.
- 24:49And the Knicks still have a time out, yeah.
- 24:52They've better. It's not over.
- 24:53OK, it's over. You have a better chance of
- 24:56Sonny being Ray Lewis the win of this game today.
- 25:00Hey, watch out. Jalen Brunson's magic, Sonny.
- 25:04Watch out. Sonny.
- 25:06I got it. He probably won't.
- 25:08He could probably try to get it. That was 7 height, 7 inches of
- 25:11height. That was actually funny.
- 25:13That was actually funny. That was 1 funny thing you
- 25:15actually said to. Him appreciate you.
- 25:16That was funny. Yeah, homeboy.
- 25:18That was funny. I like that Sonny being Ray
- 25:21Lewis. Sonny Lewis.
- 25:26Or Jacob Rodriguez being Brian Urlacher.
- 25:29I said just in his ability to cover.
- 25:32That's all I'm saying your. Post is going to tell you a part
- 25:35of the Internet tomorrow. Let them, let them.
- 25:40That's pretty funny. That's what this segment's
- 25:41about, right? Making those kind of
- 25:42predictions. That's a crazy predicament.
- 25:46Prediction, predicament, whatever.
- 25:47Is that the craziest one I've said you think?
- 25:50By far. I've heard you say crazier
- 25:52things, but really? Yeah, he's said some crazy
- 25:55things. I mean, especially about the
- 25:57Giants. I mean, he he said that Mike
- 26:00Evans going to the Giants. That makes a lot of sense.
- 26:02He was never going to the Giants.
- 26:04He was never going. Everybody's going to the Giants
- 26:06with fish. Everybody.
- 26:08Dude, I, I got to tell you right now, if, if there could be a
- 26:13supermodel could play in in in a New York Giants uniform, he
- 26:17would say, oh, she she'll be a New York Giants or forget,
- 26:19forget that Nathan would convert his Cowboys fan or become a
- 26:22Giants fan of that happens or. Can she block?
- 26:26I love Lisa Ann. Or Lisa Ann.
- 26:28She could play for the New York Giants.
- 26:30Hey, if she could block, she could play.
- 26:31For me tickets if that was the case.
- 26:33My pinky is bigger than yours. Lulu fish is not a panty
- 26:37dropper. Well, not after that take
- 26:39anyways. We call this.
- 26:40What's that smell? Hold up, what is that smell?
- 26:44What's that? Smell.
- 26:50Wow, you don't see that every day.
- 26:53All right, ladies and gentlemen, it's pretty simple.
- 26:56We'll watch the Knicks lose this game.
- 26:58But it's pretty simple what we're going to do.
- 27:00We're going to go around in a circle and we're going to tell
- 27:03you a story, and we're going to tell you what it smells like
- 27:05tonight. Fish.
- 27:06Speedy. Cue me.
- 27:08Here we go. All right, so we'll start off.
- 27:12What's that smell with? Just one of the greats, Lavar
- 27:16Ball. Oh my goodness if you did not
- 27:19see this. He got on in front of a camera.
- 27:22In a podcast. He urged the Charlotte Hornets
- 27:25to pick up his sons, Lonzo and Jello, and bring all three balls
- 27:32to Charlotte. If you want to go to the
- 27:35playoffs, 3 balls are better than one.
- 27:38I'm trying to explain to you all.
- 27:40I have to keep telling you, if you want to go far, you got to
- 27:44get all the ball boys. The chemistry and the speed of
- 27:48the game is unmatched. You've got to be a heck of a
- 27:50coach. How do?
- 27:51You give, how do you give Mikael Bridges that shot?
- 27:54He missed both both his foul shots and they let Mikael
- 27:57Bridges shoot that shot. Mikael.
- 27:59Bridges is worth 5 first round. Picks.
- 28:01It was OG that missed the shots, not Mikael.
- 28:03It was Mikael. Well, I'm sure Mikael missed
- 28:05this last one. Guys, don't fight.
- 28:07Don't. Fight let's get into we don't
- 28:08need to fight about it because they're still going to win the
- 28:10series, but whatever look he's a killer.
- 28:12You know what I do with a killer?
- 28:13You leave them until the end. You don't take them out them
- 28:16suckers hit zero and let it be known he's still trying to win.
- 28:18He could be down 40 down 50. It don't matter.
- 28:21It takes vision risk. Trust me to be a champion and
- 28:24you better believe in your players, man blah blah, blah,
- 28:27blah, blah. This guy is out of his freaking
- 28:29mind. All three of the balls.
- 28:31One of them is the guy that came up with the six seven thing that
- 28:34just doesn't go away. Jealous Ball with his not great
- 28:38rap song that people kept playing for a while.
- 28:41My goodness, what is all this smell like?
- 28:44It smells like a bunch of big Baller brand bullshit.
- 28:50All right, I'll go to some college football here.
- 28:52So Alabama football general manager Courtney Morgan was
- 28:56mentioning 2 things about NIL, complaining about NIL and
- 28:59Alabama. So first one is a kid that comes
- 29:03in making close to $1 million. Where does it go from there?
- 29:05Basically saying he wants a freshman cap for NIL for one
- 29:08thing. And the second thing is he was
- 29:10taking shots like, oh, in today's NIL era, A-Team could
- 29:14just spend $40 million and win a championship.
- 29:17And Kurt Siginetti went on a show in response to that say
- 29:22there's most definite case. We did not spend $40 million
- 29:25this year. Yes.
- 29:25And Kurt is right. Indiana football spent four
- 29:28point $14.7 million in an IL money.
- 29:30Alabama actually was actually lower on the list than they
- 29:32usually are. They spend $15.7 million.
- 29:34But the main thing is there were only one team that won their
- 29:39conference and that was Texas Tech that was in the top ten in
- 29:42spending for NIL this season. So clearly this guy has no idea
- 29:46what he's talking about, at least for the 2025 season.
- 29:48So what does that smell like? It smells like a Crimson Tide of
- 29:52elephant blood coming down on him.
- 29:56Elephant. Blood.
- 29:58No, their mascot's an elephant, essentially.
- 30:00A Crimson Tide elephant. By the way, this is the part I
- 30:03forgot to mention because. They lost 38 to 3.
- 30:05Because they lost 38 to 3 to Indiana.
- 30:07So I'll say 35 foot wave of Crimson Tide.
- 30:11Dodger. We got to get Crimson Tide of
- 30:15Elephant Blood. So I'll.
- 30:17Pick for this show. Java like my shrimp cocktail.
- 30:20It has to be it. I'm at a lawsuit.
- 30:24I have a lot of options tonight, but I'll narrow it down to one.
- 30:30I'm going to go and swing it into the podcast area.
- 30:33New York Sports Live Mouth one of the Co hosts, Fish made a
- 30:37perdition like that Sonny Styles will be equivalent to Ray Lewis
- 30:42in his upcoming NFL debut season.
- 30:45I would just like to say that this kid, this man is out of his
- 30:49mind. When I say out of his mind, out
- 30:51of his mind. I couldn't believe the take.
- 30:54Totally unbelievable. Make sure you catch the New York
- 30:57Sports Live my show each and every day, Monday and Thursday
- 31:007:00 PM. But this guy said the most
- 31:03ridiculous, craziest thing the Internet has ever heard as of
- 31:06today on Monday, April 20th, 2026.
- 31:11What? It smells like a bunch of New
- 31:13York. He tasted giant Big Blue
- 31:17elephant blood. As long as she's using dude like
- 31:20I'm taking care of my 200 toilet home public area slime.
- 31:28Oh yeah. I got the bubble.
- 31:30Gum That was a good one. Q Don't worry, we have archives
- 31:33of some crazier ones, too. Errol's friend has the greatest
- 31:35one of all time. What do you say?
- 31:36Ezekiel Elliott could run on the same offensive line that Barry
- 31:39Sanders played with. That's that's ridiculous.
- 31:41That's still number one of all his.
- 31:42Own father told him he was ridiculous when he said look.
- 31:46By the way, I'll do the squirrel dance every time Sonny makes a
- 31:48play all season. I'll just do it just like Ray
- 31:51Lewis. That's I'm just.
- 31:52Squirrel dance. It's like when you do you want
- 31:54to eat his balls or something. No, the famous squirrel dance
- 31:57that he did when he came out of the the gate.
- 31:59Give me some of that give. Me some of that now.
- 32:02Anyways, my final. What's that smell goes to
- 32:06Congratulations to Victor Webanyama for winning the NBA
- 32:10Defensive Player of the Year unanimously.
- 32:12But here's my problem and why I don't It doesn't make any sense.
- 32:17If you look at the list of guys for defensive player of the
- 32:19year, they had Victor as the number one, Chet Holmgrim as the
- 32:24number two. He had 76 second place votes and
- 32:2711 third place. Then Thompson 9 to 33, Rudy
- 32:31Gobert 4 to 29. These all second place votes.
- 32:35He got all 101st place votes. Victor Webinama hold on.
- 32:39Scotty Barnes 3 for 1233 second and 12 third.
- 32:44Derek White 22 for two for 2nd and 3rd.
- 32:50Thompson 2 and 0. Hold on.
- 32:52Dyson Daniels one and two OG and Anobi One second place vote and
- 32:57one third place vote. No first place votes.
- 33:00This guy was the best perimeter defender in the NBA all season
- 33:07and he had none. He he was like the eighth or
- 33:10ninth guy on this list. It makes no sense.
- 33:13It just tells you how dumb the NBA is when it comes to voting.
- 33:17This made no sense. No sense, and I'm not saying
- 33:20this because I'm a Knick fan. It doesn't make any sense.
- 33:22Chet Holmgrim was not a better defender than OG and Anobi this
- 33:25year either was Thompson, either was Rudy Gobert, Barnes, White,
- 33:30Thompson, Daniels. None of these guys were better
- 33:33than OG. The only one was webbing Yama
- 33:35and he should add the 2nd place votes.
- 33:37Chet Holmgren. Chet Holmgren, it makes no
- 33:42sense. Holmgren is a he's a decent
- 33:44defensive player. He is, he's decent.
- 33:46He's more of an offensive option.
- 33:48Makes no sense. You know what it smells like?
- 33:50It smells like the the dump that I was laying out at that movie
- 33:54at that movie theater yesterday. Going to see the movie The Beast
- 33:57and I'm going to tell you it smelt really, really bad.
- 34:00So yeah, I, I, I, I did not get that.
- 34:04I don't get this voting how the NBA can actually.
- 34:07And, and again, I congratulations to Victor
- 34:10Webanyama. He deserves to be defensive play
- 34:13of the year. He had like 3 1/2 blocks a game.
- 34:15I mean, it's ridiculous. He's also 7 foot 47 foot 5.
- 34:20The guy's a beast. So you know what he's supposed
- 34:22to. Do but OG Ananobi was the best
- 34:25perimeter defender in all of the NBA.
- 34:27All of the NBA like shut down defender.
- 34:31You look at the analytics, it would sell you that he was the
- 34:35second best defender in all of the NBA. 02 days.
- 34:38You're referring to analytics, which is not your thing, OK.
- 34:42No, it's not. No, it's not.
- 34:44So just I just want to make a note.
- 34:45No, but I don't look at those pre.
- 34:47Go back and forth and I just want to make sure we we notify
- 34:51each other when you go back on your worst.
- 34:53This makes my pecker hard. Shit just made the defensive
- 34:56stop highlight for in the playoffs.
- 34:57What do you mean he's the best? He's not.
- 34:59He don't deserve the 2nd place vote.
- 35:01He was not, if you're going to tell.
- 35:04Me, I take shit over OG. You're out of your mind.
- 35:06It just shows you. It just shows you that.
- 35:08You know who who did OG shut down that you're you're you're
- 35:11referring? To He shut down Jaylen Brown a
- 35:14couple times this year. He's going to shut down Jason
- 35:16Tatum next. Round 30 that game.
- 35:19He shut down Jaylen Brown in a couple games.
- 35:21What do you have 30 that game? No, he didn't have 30 in the
- 35:23game. 27. No, no 27, he shut him down.
- 35:27I think he had 19 in one of the games that OG and Nanobi was
- 35:29taking him. Dude you you you really don't
- 35:32watch OG and Nanobi in the way he defends.
- 35:34You really don't. He just lost the night.
- 35:36All right? I don't really watch too many
- 35:38losers. You're not.
- 35:39You're not going to win every game, dude.
- 35:41You're just not. You're just not.
- 35:42You should've won that when you was up the whole game all.
- 35:44Right, you're right. I think the Knicks choked and I
- 35:47think they're going to have to come out strong in game #2 game
- 35:49#3 and and game #4. I wouldn't even let them win any
- 35:53of those games in Atlanta and go back to New York and finish them
- 35:56because I just don't give them any confidence to to keep them
- 35:59in the series because the longer this series goes, the more
- 36:02confident they're going to get as.
- 36:03A young confident. They just stole one.
- 36:06Stole the game. That's more.
- 36:07Than a bad loss, man it is it's a bad loss.
- 36:10But look, you know, I wanted this is a team that's responded
- 36:13all year. They they look they've
- 36:14constantly respond. Maybe they need this to wake
- 36:17them to F up because this wasn't good enough tonight, you know?
- 36:19Yeah. Shot by 50.
- 36:22I'm I'm tired, I'm tired of this.
