- 1:29Speaker 4: one mister Easter. And I was like, you know, he
- 1:31Speaker 4: gonna be the he gonna be the Sunday dude. And
- 1:34Speaker 4: then I think he caught on very quickly. He was like, yeah, no,
- 1:37Speaker 4: I'm not gonna be your brunch dude.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Now now you look happy? Well, y'all, y'all was only
- 1:42Speaker 1: going on brunch dates.

- 1:48Speaker 4: then went to brunh.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Whoa, that's your first day to Easter services service. Interesting.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You had to make sure he loved the Lord.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Hey, you had to make sure he loved the Lord.
- 1:58Speaker 2: You had to make sure you love the Lord.
- 1:59Speaker 3: I think it was him he asked me.
- 2:01Speaker 4: I felt like asking him, but he actually asked me.
- 2:05Speaker 4: He said, would you like to go to church with
- 2:07Speaker 4: me on Easter Sunday? I said, okay, wow, yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 3: So we went to church together.
- 2:14Speaker 4: My worship turned them on and it's been turning them
- 2:16Speaker 4: on ever since.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Now for the people who I don't even know. If
- 2:26Speaker 2: people don't know who Jesse Wu is, everyone should know.
- 2:28Speaker 3: Who nobody everybody knows child.
- 2:31Speaker 1: For for those who don't know, where are you originally.
- 2:34Speaker 3: From Miami Dade County.
- 2:36Speaker 4: That's where I was, but I was born in Montreal
- 2:41Speaker 4: seducation parents. Every time I tell you that, you have
- 2:45Speaker 4: that same reaction because I am Canadian.
- 2:47Speaker 1: I just feel like that's Canadian found because you would
- 2:53Speaker 1: think you would be from Miami. You were born in Miami.
- 2:57Speaker 4: If somebody says I'm from Miami, I'm like yeah. If
- 2:59Speaker 4: they say I'm from and I'm like yeah.
- 3:04Speaker 5: But you you can't be deported or anything like that,
- 3:06Speaker 5: because I.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Mean I could with these new birth relationship I do
- 3:10Speaker 4: have citizenship.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I don't agree.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Well, Canada don't really work like that to my knowledge,
- 3:16Speaker 4: Like it's like you're born there. They're not going to
- 3:18Speaker 4: refuse me coming home in Canada like a Canadian passport.
- 3:23Speaker 4: I have a Canadian passport that I need to get renewed. Actually,
- 3:27Speaker 4: but with the way Trump is redefining birthright, citizenship, Ice
- 3:31Speaker 4: could come from me any day now.
- 3:33Speaker 1: But he has a job like a Canadian.
- 3:36Speaker 4: He has been tripping on Canada. He's been trying to
- 3:38Speaker 4: bully Canada.
- 3:39Speaker 3: For a while.
- 3:41Speaker 4: It's worse on the I mean it's worse for other countries.
- 3:45Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, he hate that. I will not throw.
- 3:50Speaker 3: He hate them people and those.
- 3:53Speaker 1: People that that that helped him get in what I'm saying.
- 3:55Speaker 4: They had a whole song for him.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I seen that video.
- 4:01Speaker 3: I would vote for Donna.
- 4:02Speaker 4: Mind you I was, I would boat Yeah, I was
- 4:05Speaker 4: both for Donna. I have been singing that song. If
- 4:09Speaker 4: you followed me for a while, you know I had
- 4:10Speaker 4: been singing that song. When that song went viral again
- 4:13Speaker 4: last year, my followers was like, Jesse been singing this.
- 4:17Speaker 3: I was been singing because I'm from Miami.
- 4:19Speaker 4: I'm the home of white Hispanics who think that they
- 4:24Speaker 4: are not they think that they are Caucasians.
- 4:27Speaker 5: Why though I heard I've heard about this, But you know,
- 4:30Speaker 5: obviously I'm not from Miami, so you go down to Miami.
- 4:34Speaker 4: Them Cubans do not identify as Latinos. They identify as
- 4:37Speaker 4: white people. They just racist than white people, like I've
- 4:43Speaker 4: experienced when I was in Miami, I experienced more racism
- 4:47Speaker 4: from Latinos than I did from white people.
- 4:50Speaker 3: It was ridiculous. Yes, yes, Miami is not just south
- 4:54Speaker 3: beat y'all.
- 4:56Speaker 4: That bridge both cross that bridge boot and it's a
- 4:59Speaker 4: whole other story.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Now speaking the story, what was what was the Jesse
- 5:03Speaker 1: Wu story?
- 5:03Speaker 2: I know we did speak on the radio when you
- 5:05Speaker 2: came up here one time and I asked, how were
- 5:08Speaker 2: you growing up?
- 5:09Speaker 1: Because you could sing? When did the singing come into
- 5:13Speaker 1: your life? Was at a young age?
- 5:14Speaker 3: Oh yeah?
- 5:15Speaker 4: I fel like I was in church like my mom
- 5:17Speaker 4: and my father, they both met in ministry.
- 5:19Speaker 3: My father was.
- 5:20Speaker 4: Kind of like, uh, yeah, right, that's so funny, but
- 5:23Speaker 4: that's not how we met. We met he was promoting Freaknick.
- 5:27Speaker 4: That was his documentary, Freaknick on on Hulu. That was
- 5:30Speaker 4: his documentary that he produced. And so at the time
- 5:34Speaker 4: I was working a Dish Nation. I was his last
- 5:36Speaker 4: press stop and he came up to me. He was like, hey, like,
- 5:40Speaker 4: we used to live in the same building, Like I've
- 5:42Speaker 4: met you several times. I was like, I don't remember,
- 5:44Speaker 4: like I've Usually like when I would go home, I
- 5:47Speaker 4: would just like get in.
- 5:48Speaker 3: The elevator, I'd be done for the day.
- 5:49Speaker 4: I really wouldn't be paying attention but he's like, we
- 5:52Speaker 4: met several times, but anyway, like we exchanged numbers and
- 5:55Speaker 4: that's we met again, I guess, but that was my
- 5:57Speaker 4: first time realizing I met.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Oh, so, y'all I met at work.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Yeah, we met at work. But yeah, my parents they
- 6:02Speaker 4: met in ministry. My father was preaching. My grandmother had
- 6:06Speaker 4: a big Kojic ministry in Montreal. Used she had a
- 6:13Speaker 4: big ministry. My dad was preaching, and you know, he
- 6:15Speaker 4: was preaching in the morning. He was td JS in
- 6:18Speaker 4: the morning. He was Frank Lucas at night. Oh was
- 6:21Speaker 4: selling crack at night.
- 6:22Speaker 1: He was preaching.
- 6:23Speaker 3: Yes, yes, but you know what that's called. But diversity.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Frank Lucas.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Was he trying to support or was it like something
- 6:36Speaker 2: that he enjoyed both.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I think he just enjoyed both.
- 6:39Speaker 4: Like never, you know what's funny, I've never had that
- 6:42Speaker 4: conversation with my dad. I think I need to sit
- 6:45Speaker 4: down and conversation. But he wasn't in my life like
- 6:48Speaker 4: that growing up. So for a long like one time,
- 6:51Speaker 4: I went ten years without knowing where my dad was,
- 6:54Speaker 4: like literally, and then I went to Canada and like
- 6:58Speaker 4: I was just on a mission to find him. And
- 7:00Speaker 4: then like for years, nobody knew where he was, his
- 7:03Speaker 4: family members up there, didn't know his sisters, his brothers.
- 7:06Speaker 3: And then like just like out of the.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Blue, one of my aunts just so happened to check
- 7:12Speaker 4: her voicemail. She wasn't checking her voicemails regularly, and she
- 7:15Speaker 4: found like a year old voicemail of my dad and
- 7:19Speaker 4: he was in some group home, and so she gave
- 7:24Speaker 4: me the group home information.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I go to the group home. My dad's there, like
- 7:29Speaker 3: strung out.
- 7:30Speaker 1: He was on drugs, bad, like it was bad.
- 7:34Speaker 4: And I remember just seeing him for the first time
- 7:38Speaker 4: in over ten years, and he was like, you know,
- 7:41Speaker 4: if you didn't bring me money, like I don't want
- 7:42Speaker 4: to talk to you.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Like it was bad. It was bad, Like it took
- 7:47Speaker 3: us a while to get.
- 7:48Speaker 4: On, like good speaking terms, good speaking terms.
- 7:52Speaker 3: But he's better now, he's better now, he's doing good.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Yeah, Okay, I want to do good and go to commercials.
- 7:58Speaker 1: Jesse Building. That's not like a Tyler period movie going
- 8:03Speaker 1: for ten years? Yeah. Wow. The Baller Show on Revolt
- 8:07Speaker 1: right here, brought to you by Revolt. The Baller Show.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I go by the name for Ari Sims. I'll go
- 8:12Speaker 1: by to name, you know, BT jesse Woo in the building.
- 8:14Speaker 1: How you doing, sister good?
- 8:17Speaker 2: Now, we was just getting in your business about you know,
- 8:20Speaker 2: your upbringing and you're from Canada and Miami and Atlanta.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I'm just throwing I just do that. I did some.
- 8:30Speaker 2: When I did some research on you, I saw that
- 8:32Speaker 2: you had some You had a New York.
- 8:34Speaker 4: Yeah, almost in New York for a while. That's where
- 8:35Speaker 4: I built my platform.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Okay, now, because people always say, jesse Wo, how did
- 8:39Speaker 2: Jesse Wo become Jesse Wo?
- 8:41Speaker 1: What does she do? What to that? You say? What?
- 8:43Speaker 4: It was in New York? It was in New York.
- 8:46Speaker 4: After I got my master's I moved to New York.
- 8:50Speaker 4: I was staying with my aunt for a little bit,
- 8:51Speaker 4: like she had been telling me since I was little.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Come to New York. Come to New York, jesse come
- 8:55Speaker 3: to New York. You're going to be a stock.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Come to New York, New York.
- 8:58Speaker 4: And then like finally I go to New York and
- 9:00Speaker 4: I lived with her for a minute and then I
- 9:02Speaker 4: moved out, got my own apartment. Within months of having
- 9:06Speaker 4: my own apartment, I lost my job.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I went on.
- 9:09Speaker 4: Food stamps unemployment like it was just like the worst.
- 9:14Speaker 4: And during that time I started uh doing content online
- 9:19Speaker 4: like and it was predominantly like Haitian for years twenty eighteen,
- 9:26Speaker 4: twenty seventeen, twenty seventeen, and so I was just doing
- 9:30Speaker 4: content heavy and it kind of just took off in
- 9:33Speaker 4: New York first because I was living in Flatbush.
- 9:36Speaker 1: That's like you was living in the hood. Yeah, I
- 9:38Speaker 1: was in flat I was on that place.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Yeah, I was on no Stun Tilden. All the Haitians
- 9:44Speaker 4: know where that is. And so it kind of took
- 9:47Speaker 4: off their first. And then like you know, I so
- 9:53Speaker 4: just so happened to go to like an open mic
- 9:55Speaker 4: night or something like that, or comedy night where I
- 9:57Speaker 4: was gonna do like ten minutes and and there was
- 10:00Speaker 4: a BT executive there and she liked like my energy
- 10:04Speaker 4: and she was like, Hey, her.
- 10:06Speaker 3: Name's Tanya Hoffler. We're still friends.
- 10:07Speaker 4: I still call her boss lady till this day because
- 10:09Speaker 4: she became my first boss.
- 10:11Speaker 3: But she was like, Hey, I'm.
- 10:12Speaker 4: Looking for somebody who you know can be on camera.
- 10:15Speaker 4: You seem like you have good energy, Like are you
- 10:17Speaker 4: comfortable on cameras? Like yes, can you write like you know,
- 10:20Speaker 4: stories like new stories? I like I said, yes, can
- 10:23Speaker 4: you retell problem. Yes everything, she asked me, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
- 10:27Speaker 1: But did you feel that yes too, or you just
- 10:29Speaker 1: say yes. I don't matter.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I showed up to work and I did all the yeses,
- 10:34Speaker 4: all the yeses became reality.
- 10:35Speaker 3: We'll just say that.
- 10:37Speaker 4: And so I did really really well on BT breaks
- 10:39Speaker 4: and I still have I still have a really good
- 10:41Speaker 4: relationship with BT till this day.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Like literally, so you would say your media, yeah, I
- 10:46Speaker 1: mean my.
- 10:47Speaker 4: My degree came from the school of journalism, Like I
- 10:49Speaker 4: have a master's degree from the School of Journalism.
- 10:51Speaker 1: I have a.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Undergrad in journalism and political science. So I knew I
- 10:58Speaker 4: wanted to either do like the news somehow or maybe
- 11:03Speaker 4: political commentating or be a lawyer. But that l SAT
- 11:07Speaker 4: was no hole. So that was a hell numb I
- 11:11Speaker 4: couldn't do it.
- 11:13Speaker 3: So I did have.
- 11:15Speaker 4: Like my corporate world experience because like my master's it
- 11:19Speaker 4: was a difference between like it covered like journalism, but
- 11:21Speaker 4: it also covered corporate communications, crisis management, like it covered
- 11:27Speaker 4: a lot of other things that I was able to
- 11:29Speaker 4: use in the corporate world. So you know, listen, I
- 11:32Speaker 4: was gonna make it some way somehow.
- 11:34Speaker 2: At this time, are you are you making money yet
- 11:38Speaker 2: are you.
- 11:39Speaker 4: I was poor, still poor, And it's funny because like,
- 11:46Speaker 4: if you look at me back then, you probably wouldn't think.
- 11:48Speaker 3: That, but bt breaks, I was like I was.
- 11:52Speaker 4: You know, sometimes there's a chain of talents, so I
- 11:56Speaker 4: was like the last one to come in on the
- 11:57Speaker 4: call sheet, so I was the last want to come in,
- 12:00Speaker 4: So I didn't get as many days as other people.
- 12:03Speaker 3: So there were weeks where I just made two hundred dollars.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Damn and you had a college degree at the time. Damn. Well.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I always I want to ask that.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I always ask that question because a lot of people
- 12:13Speaker 2: don't a lot of people think when they see you
- 12:15Speaker 2: on TV, you're rich.
- 12:16Speaker 3: Oh that's not true.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Or when they see you doing content and you look
- 12:20Speaker 2: good and you sound good, you're rich. I don't understand
- 12:24Speaker 2: where that connotation comes from. But I'm glad you said that,
- 12:27Speaker 2: because how did you navigate through that without saying I'm
- 12:30Speaker 2: going to quit, I'm going forgetting me it.
- 12:32Speaker 4: I just was going to get it. I mean I
- 12:34Speaker 4: was in New York. I just feel like people who
- 12:36Speaker 4: have lived in New York you get it.
- 12:38Speaker 3: You get it.
- 12:39Speaker 4: Like everybody's outside, everybody's chasing something. So yeah, it was broke,
- 12:43Speaker 4: but like literally I couldn't afford my apartment anymore.
- 12:46Speaker 3: I went to go live with a cousin of mine.
- 12:48Speaker 4: She stayed in Summit, New Jersey. If you look up Summit,
- 12:53Speaker 4: New Jersey, and you look up the travel time from Summit,
- 12:57Speaker 4: New Jersey to New York, it's at least a good
- 13:01Speaker 4: hour damn. So I was doing that via And mind you,
- 13:07Speaker 4: I was doing that via the train. The train was
- 13:08Speaker 4: like forty five minutes. So I would have to take
- 13:11Speaker 4: an uber to the Summit train station, probably five o'clock
- 13:14Speaker 4: in the morning, to the Summit train station, get on
- 13:18Speaker 4: the NJ Summit. That would be like forty five minutes
- 13:20Speaker 4: an hour ride to Penn station, Get to Penn station,
- 13:25Speaker 4: and take probably like the like whatever train that would
- 13:28Speaker 4: take me to Times Square, get out of Times Square,
- 13:31Speaker 4: walk over the fifteen to fifteen Broadway. So that would
- 13:34Speaker 4: be like, which is where BT was? Yes, yes, that's
- 13:38Speaker 4: where it was. I'm not sure if that's still there.
- 13:39Speaker 4: But so that was my commute to and from work.
- 13:43Speaker 4: But and mind you, you know I would I was
- 13:48Speaker 4: only getting like two hundred dolls a week.
- 13:50Speaker 1: How did you stay motivated through that?
- 13:53Speaker 3: I was hungry.
- 13:54Speaker 4: I've always been a hungry person, what though, hungry to.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Use my talent. When I lost my job.
- 14:02Speaker 4: Literally like probably a week before that, I was walking
- 14:04Speaker 4: into the job and I was.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Like, dang.
- 14:06Speaker 4: I was like, God, I don't want to do this
- 14:07Speaker 4: job anymore, like I want to. I want my talent
- 14:11Speaker 4: to pay my bills. That was literally my my my
- 14:14Speaker 4: prayer to God.
- 14:15Speaker 3: And then I got fired and I was like.
- 14:22Speaker 1: It's interesting happened that you got fired and then but
- 14:25Speaker 1: it led you to Yeah.
- 14:27Speaker 3: I was like, that's not how I want to.
- 14:28Speaker 4: I want to be able to, you know, turn in
- 14:30Speaker 4: my papers, have another back up something, so I ain't
- 14:33Speaker 4: had no cushion of nothing.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Lord Like God was like, all right, he's gonna put
- 14:37Speaker 1: you in the space.
- 14:39Speaker 3: You're gonna have to go get it. And that's always
- 14:41Speaker 3: been me though, even when I was in school.
- 14:43Speaker 4: Like I was always always always good and go get
- 14:47Speaker 4: it regardless.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Okay, so now we're going through BT. So what what
- 14:52Speaker 2: happens next after BT?
- 14:55Speaker 3: I mean, shoot, I'm still with BT, like.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Two hundred dollars a week.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like things take time, Like I didn't
- 15:04Speaker 4: really probably like a year into doing BT, then I
- 15:08Speaker 4: did Love and Hip Hop. I did one season to
- 15:10Speaker 4: Love and Hip Hop Miami. I think maybe by twenty nineteen,
- 15:16Speaker 4: I think I was I was making an okay living.
- 15:21Speaker 4: I think honestly last year was the first year where
- 15:25Speaker 4: I was like, oh, okay, like now I'm making I'm
- 15:28Speaker 4: making money now, like, but then the thing is, like
- 15:31Speaker 4: people don't know. People think that whether it's like you're
- 15:34Speaker 4: a content creator or whether you're like on television, you
- 15:37Speaker 4: have to understand like to make a lot of this money,
- 15:40Speaker 4: we have to spend money. And then like uncle Sam
- 15:42Speaker 4: comes and he wants his money.
- 15:45Speaker 5: So the managers and agents and assisting your time production
- 15:51Speaker 5: in your time, your personal time, that takes away from your.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Personal takes like so it's like, yeah, like you're you
- 15:58Speaker 4: look at what you make and then you look at
- 16:00Speaker 4: actually what you get to keep, and it's like, yeah.
- 16:05Speaker 3: You know what I mean.
- 16:06Speaker 4: So I think last year was the first year like
- 16:08Speaker 4: I made money. I was like, okay, you know, like
- 16:12Speaker 4: twenty twenty three, I bought a.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Home, so I was like.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 16:19Speaker 4: So yeah, I feel like the last two years is
- 16:21Speaker 4: when I'm like okay, like now I can see like
- 16:23Speaker 4: I'm making money, but it takes time, it's eight years
- 16:25Speaker 4: of work. Like you know, today, I'm coming in and
- 16:27Speaker 4: I'm working on something very special for the BT Awards.
- 16:30Speaker 4: You know, depending on when y'all see this, it might,
- 16:33Speaker 4: you know, come and go. But even that, like the
- 16:35Speaker 4: check I'm getting for that, I'm like, this is a
- 16:39Speaker 4: long way from two hundred dollars a week. But if
- 16:43Speaker 4: I would have quit, then there's no way I would
- 16:46Speaker 4: have gotten to this point.
- 16:47Speaker 3: This point what I'm getting.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Speaking of points, we take a point and go to commercial. Okay,
- 16:52Speaker 2: the ball or show about to you by vault. We've
- 16:54Speaker 2: bat with Jesse Wu all right, revolte, what's up? You
- 16:58Speaker 2: know what I'm saying, Baller Ferrari Simmons, you know bat
- 17:02Speaker 2: right here in Atlanta.

- 17:10Speaker 2: the shows called you got me?
- 17:12Speaker 1: If up? There things that get on Jesse Woo, damn nerves.
- 17:14Speaker 1: What are some things you can't stand?
- 17:17Speaker 3: These restaurants in Atlanta?
- 17:19Speaker 1: Oh went, Oh my god.
- 17:23Speaker 4: I just went to a brunch recently and it's a
- 17:26Speaker 4: well known restaurant here. I ain't gonna say the name,
- 17:28Speaker 4: but it's a well known restaurant here, and going inside
- 17:32Speaker 4: the restaurant, it was like, wait, you got your name
- 17:35Speaker 4: on the list?
- 17:36Speaker 1: Know what you're talking about security?
- 17:39Speaker 4: Like yeah, I'm.
- 17:44Speaker 3: Not gonna say.
- 17:46Speaker 4: I'm just like, bro, I'm for chicken and waffles.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Bro all that for sunny side up eggs, Like what
- 17:54Speaker 3: is going on? What happened?
- 17:56Speaker 4: Like they make you feel like you're about to rob
- 17:58Speaker 4: the place? Like why do y'all be acting like that?
- 18:01Speaker 3: It's so weird.
- 18:02Speaker 5: Well, I think Atlanta is also the land of hospitality,
- 18:06Speaker 5: not hospitality wow.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Totality because people brilliant.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Because people forget like KVT with the with the makeup words.
- 18:14Speaker 5: I mean, I just I've experienced what you've experienced so
- 18:17Speaker 5: many times hospitality.
- 18:20Speaker 1: Yeah, Like I'm like, okay, what industry will we end?
- 18:22Speaker 5: Whether it's you go to clubs, which is supposed to
- 18:24Speaker 5: be hospitality business, it's hospitality business.
- 18:27Speaker 1: You know.
- 18:28Speaker 5: It's like you're trying to enter the Pentagon to go
- 18:30Speaker 5: sit there and buy twenty five dollars per drink items
- 18:34Speaker 5: when you go to the club.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Whether I mean I went to the liquor store.
- 18:37Speaker 2: The battle markup is five hundred percent, Like I went
- 18:41Speaker 2: to the liquor store.
- 18:42Speaker 5: And I went in there with my hood on because
- 18:43Speaker 5: I know I was in the hood and I ain't
- 18:45Speaker 5: when people recognize me trying to get a little little
- 18:47Speaker 5: drink and.
- 18:49Speaker 1: The security guard said, you can't walk in here with
- 18:51Speaker 1: your hood on. I said, I go to the bank
- 18:52Speaker 1: of my hood on, them telling me to take it.
- 18:54Speaker 3: Off, Like what is the problem.
- 18:56Speaker 4: Yeah, for sure, But also, like you mentioned something, I
- 18:59Speaker 4: sang at the White House back in September.
- 19:02Speaker 3: No, back in I think it was November. Yes, it
- 19:07Speaker 3: was a Novem twenty twenty four. I sing at the
- 19:09Speaker 3: White House.
- 19:10Speaker 4: You know the White House, even if you've never been,
- 19:13Speaker 4: you know it's top security.
- 19:14Speaker 1: You know what youpect.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Even they didn't give me what I just had down
- 19:19Speaker 4: to the brunch spot.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Wow, Like I just was like.
- 19:23Speaker 5: Yo, this is how you're treating It makes you not
- 19:27Speaker 5: want to go support black businesses.
- 19:29Speaker 1: And I had to be the person to say that no.
- 19:31Speaker 4: But honestly, you know what really kills me too, these hairstylists.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Hey boy, this is why I've.
- 19:37Speaker 4: Been in my braid era and I just go down
- 19:40Speaker 4: to the African shop, down to the Senegalese people get
- 19:43Speaker 4: my braids in for two undred dollars.
- 19:44Speaker 3: I don't got time for y'all hos who act like
- 19:48Speaker 3: your customers are your ops.
- 19:51Speaker 4: It's like the Ten Commandments on the front page of
- 19:54Speaker 4: the website told these motherfucking rules. I'm putting down a
- 19:59Speaker 4: seven twenty five percent depose it.
- 20:02Speaker 3: I didn't even have to do that for my home.
- 20:04Speaker 3: What are we doing?
- 20:06Speaker 1: Like? What are you like?
- 20:07Speaker 4: I gotta give you my blood sample. I can't have
- 20:13Speaker 4: four sea hair. If you have this texture of hair
- 20:17Speaker 4: and you want to wash, it's an extra two hundred dollars.
- 20:20Speaker 4: Y'all holes don't know how to treat natural hair. The
- 20:24Speaker 4: lace fronts don't be lacing, but the price be pricing. Yeah,
- 20:31Speaker 4: like you guys are on crack like it's ridiculous Atlanta
- 20:36Speaker 4: the hairstylist women's I can't do, y'all, y'all got.

- 20:56Speaker 4: telling nobody with my brain shot.
- 20:59Speaker 3: I don't want to see y'all. I don't want to
- 21:01Speaker 3: see y'all. I don't want the line.
- 21:04Speaker 4: I don't want y'all holes coming, and I don't care.
- 21:06Speaker 4: You could come for me, okay.
- 21:08Speaker 1: So they can call you a gatekeeper.
- 21:12Speaker 4: I'm off for the sisterhood until it's time to share
- 21:15Speaker 4: my brain shop. And y'all holes will not come to
- 21:17Speaker 4: my brain shop because I seen how y'all don't turned
- 21:20Speaker 4: down everybody else's brain shop. When I go down there,
- 21:23Speaker 4: it's two women that come to my head.
- 21:25Speaker 1: I be.
- 21:25Speaker 3: I'll be in at four to six hours.
- 21:26Speaker 1: I'm gone.
- 21:29Speaker 4: Y'all these braids fifteen hundred dollars.
- 21:33Speaker 3: For bowhole braids?
- 21:34Speaker 1: What's bohole braids? The big ones? Yeah, so that would
- 21:39Speaker 1: be a fifteen hundred dollars. That would be fifteen hundred dollars.
- 21:42Speaker 4: But if you go down to the Senegalese, the Africans,
- 21:45Speaker 4: they still doing it for two eighty what three three
- 21:48Speaker 4: hundred max?
- 21:49Speaker 1: Yes, yes, that's crazy. But is they charging based on
- 21:53Speaker 1: the time?
- 21:54Speaker 4: They charging because these hairstylists are celebrities. Now that's the thing.
- 21:59Speaker 4: Y'all want me to pay for your lifestyle? Bitch you
- 22:02Speaker 4: not ooohy, I can't cut, we won't be ahead. I'm
- 22:06Speaker 4: not gonna be paying you for you to have Gucci

- 22:12Speaker 4: flops and act correct and come give me good, good
- 22:17Speaker 4: service and good braids. First of all, fifteen hundred dollars
- 22:19Speaker 4: boho braids. Why are they debraiding within a week?
- 22:24Speaker 1: No matter? Wait, fifteen hundred dollars for some braids. That
- 22:27Speaker 1: sounds debraid.
- 22:29Speaker 3: It's gonna debraid.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 22:30Speaker 3: The Africans never do me wrong, ever, do me wrong.
- 22:34Speaker 1: They're gonna take me and it's gonna be tight tight.
- 22:36Speaker 1: It's gonna fine.
- 22:37Speaker 3: That's fine, that's fine.
- 22:38Speaker 5: But it's also because people on social media, and these
- 22:41Speaker 5: people are video they getting a.

- 23:13Speaker 4: you getting all this, and you start my hair thirty
- 23:17Speaker 4: minutes later.
- 23:18Speaker 3: You not taking no money off of my fee? Are
- 23:21Speaker 3: you are?
- 23:21Speaker 5: Y'all?
- 23:21Speaker 4: Okay?
- 23:23Speaker 3: What y'all got going on? Seriously, what do the hairstylist
- 23:26Speaker 3: in Atlanta got going on? Are y'all on bath salts?
- 23:29Speaker 3: Are y'all on that stuff that was inside? Did y'all
- 23:32Speaker 3: get bitten? I just saw sentence.
- 23:35Speaker 4: Some of y'all got bit because there's no way that
- 23:38Speaker 4: y'all are in your right state of mind.
- 23:40Speaker 5: Some of them came back like Cornbridge, we just playing
- 23:45Speaker 5: raining games.
- 23:46Speaker 4: Yeah, that's what y'all are doing with these prices, and like,
- 23:49Speaker 4: come on now, these rules and the customer service, it's
- 23:52Speaker 4: just not it's not serving.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I've been I've been saying that about Atlanta.
- 23:56Speaker 4: I love his hair was great. Your hair always looked good.
- 24:00Speaker 2: I ain't gonna cap it was one time he got
- 24:02Speaker 2: really upset. He got canceled three times by three different
- 24:05Speaker 2: people one.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Dayby pissed three in need. I add that we had
- 24:09Speaker 1: to shoot content that day because you just.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Said, I add.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I already had scheduled. So the day that minutes before
- 24:23Speaker 1: he was hot. I was like yo yo interviewed with
- 24:28Speaker 1: because he hated to work with his hair out.
- 24:30Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, back in an hour, iby pissed.
- 24:35Speaker 4: You know that.
- 24:35Speaker 5: It's it's so crazy. The stuff that you gotta deal with, man,
- 24:38Speaker 5: that we shouldn't have to deal with.
- 24:41Speaker 2: I do know I want to get to the bottom
- 24:43Speaker 2: of that too, So I do want to get some hairstylists.
- 24:47Speaker 4: Y'all need to have a hair intervention on Revolt the
- 24:50Speaker 4: Baller Alert, where y'all bring in four to five hairstylists.
- 24:54Speaker 1: I'm dead at they're all gonna lie.
- 24:57Speaker 4: They all lash and see and let them lie and
- 25:00Speaker 4: see what they followed. Was gonna say, bring them in
- 25:02Speaker 4: here and ask them the questions. Why are y'all braids fifty?

- 25:11Speaker 1: bring me some boxing gloves.
- 25:15Speaker 5: You might see some people that you're gonna be right back.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Oh my god, ball Revolt TV. Oh my god. Yeah,
- 25:29Speaker 1: and we're back with the Baller Show on.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Revolt for Ari Simmons. You know, BT jesse Wood in
- 25:34Speaker 2: the building.
- 25:34Speaker 1: How you doing? Appreciate you one good?
- 25:36Speaker 2: Speaking of that, we got the mental health check in
- 25:40Speaker 2: on type of Keisha uh the Faith Project. When jesse
- 25:44Speaker 2: Wood was having a moment, you could call it a
- 25:47Speaker 2: bad day, you could call it a moment or times
- 25:49Speaker 2: where you know things ain't aligned that day?
- 25:52Speaker 1: What do you do?
- 25:53Speaker 3: Take a nap? I napped through that heartaches, I napped
- 25:57Speaker 3: through my annoyance. I napped through being overwhelmed.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 26:01Speaker 4: I just feel like as an adult, I napped like
- 26:04Speaker 4: I've never napped before.
- 26:06Speaker 1: Like if I'm really reset, it's like a factory reset.
- 26:09Speaker 1: But just.
- 26:13Speaker 4: And I wake up and I'm like, oh this, I
- 26:15Speaker 4: still got to address this. Well at least I'm refreshed.
- 26:22Speaker 4: I'm refreshed now, So okay, new eyes.
- 26:26Speaker 5: That's what you do used to do as a kid,
- 26:27Speaker 5: like you know, kids Like we were crying.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Then my parents would be like, yo, you need to
- 26:32Speaker 1: take a nap. Did you wake up you? Like, man,
- 26:33Speaker 1: that's not so bad. I thought it was like so bad.
- 26:36Speaker 3: No, I feel like them beaten naps.
- 26:39Speaker 1: They need to be the best nap. You wake up
- 26:41Speaker 1: with a clear thought. Yeah, I don't know how. Then
- 26:45Speaker 1: he and she opened up, especially she you hungry.
- 26:47Speaker 4: Right, but you wake up like, you know what, I
- 26:49Speaker 4: need to be more respectful to my mother?
- 26:53Speaker 3: I hate you?
- 26:54Speaker 1: Did you wake up after that? That? That that beating me?
- 26:57Speaker 4: Like?
- 26:57Speaker 1: I love you?
- 26:58Speaker 2: So who's the person that that Jess calls that you
- 27:01Speaker 2: confide in, Like, who's the person that knows all Jesse's.
- 27:06Speaker 4: I feel like I feel my man has become someone
- 27:08Speaker 4: I confided mister Easter, that's dope. I have my friend Sandra,
- 27:13Speaker 4: have my cousin that.
- 27:14Speaker 2: Most people don't say their significant other for some reason,
- 27:17Speaker 2: they say like a mom or sister.
- 27:19Speaker 1: A relative.
- 27:19Speaker 4: I feel like he's become like he's my emergency contact
- 27:23Speaker 4: that don't have.
- 27:23Speaker 5: A good relations alignment right there, ain't got good relationships really, Yeah,
- 27:28Speaker 5: that's that's why.
- 27:29Speaker 1: That's why he said.
- 27:30Speaker 5: Most people don't say that their partners in their relationship,
- 27:33Speaker 5: people that they can.
- 27:34Speaker 3: Vent to and stiff when you've asked that, they never Yeah,
- 27:36Speaker 3: it's all the time.
- 27:37Speaker 4: He's like the thing about him, like he's gonna tell
- 27:40Speaker 4: me the truth, but he's also gonna like support me,
- 27:43Speaker 4: Like even in my delusion, he's gonna be like, maybe
- 27:45Speaker 4: I support you, but that ain't it.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I like that's how that ain't it.
- 27:52Speaker 3: But I support you.
- 27:53Speaker 2: I'm still that big, I'm still that I'm still that line.
- 27:57Speaker 1: Miss Rory.
- 27:58Speaker 4: Goddamn boys, yeah you you you was acting up, baby,
- 28:03Speaker 4: Let's just keep.
- 28:04Speaker 1: It, okay.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I like that, Okay, okay, that's dope, and I appreciate that. Now,
- 28:07Speaker 2: are we ever gonna see Jesse wu the mom hopefully?
- 28:12Speaker 3: Hopefully.
- 28:13Speaker 4: You know, I have been busting a wide over so
- 28:16Speaker 4: prefectly it happened soon, y'all.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Perfectly it happens.
- 28:22Speaker 4: So I've been looking at so I didn't understand that
- 28:26Speaker 4: they like there's all these different terms. You got your
- 28:29Speaker 4: filicka filickla phase, you got your uh, what was.
- 28:34Speaker 3: The thing when you be breeding?
- 28:37Speaker 4: What your your ovulation phase?
- 28:41Speaker 3: You got like it's all these different phases.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Usually right before that time of the month.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Hap, Yes, all these different phases.
- 28:47Speaker 4: And I think that for me, I've been someone who's
- 28:49Speaker 4: like my emotions kind of rule my body, which is
- 28:55Speaker 4: actually like it's kind of good, but it's not like
- 28:57Speaker 4: there's been times like I've actually like made myself sick sometimes,
- 29:01Speaker 4: so like if I'm angry or if I'm like overwhelmed.
- 29:04Speaker 4: So but in this past year, I feel like I've
- 29:06Speaker 4: been in a really good place. And you know, I
- 29:09Speaker 4: have a really good man in my life. And you know,
- 29:11Speaker 4: we both don't have children, so we look forward like
- 29:14Speaker 4: our families have been like what you're doing, Yeah, what's
- 29:18Speaker 4: going on?
- 29:19Speaker 1: Like you're not doing something ain't nothing, ain't nothing popping
- 29:21Speaker 1: up now, or if that happens, does Jesse will fall.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Back a little bit from them, minieh we increase or
- 29:32Speaker 2: we keep it the same or of course, oh that's
- 29:34Speaker 2: going to factor into the.
- 29:36Speaker 4: Factor in, Like I wouldn't want to make my children
- 29:39Speaker 4: like the focal point of stuff. But I feel like
- 29:42Speaker 4: it's not going to decrease because like even mister Easter,
- 29:44Speaker 4: like he's a he's an executive producer, he's a showrunner.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Like we're both in this.
- 29:48Speaker 4: So it's like it's not gonna We're not gonna stop
- 29:51Speaker 4: doing what we do. We're just gonna have to factor
- 29:54Speaker 4: in like now we're parents. You know, we're not married yet,
- 29:56Speaker 4: so we want to be married then we want to
- 29:58Speaker 4: have children and you know, so yeah, we wouldn't stop
- 30:01Speaker 4: doing what we're doing now, but I wouldn't be out
- 30:04Speaker 4: here trying to post my kids every day. Like the
- 30:07Speaker 4: Internet honestly is a very weird place. I've seen people
- 30:11Speaker 4: like turn children like into nasty memes, like you know,
- 30:15Speaker 4: like take screenshots of like a baby's like express.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Look at Haley and oh my god, yea their son.
- 30:23Speaker 1: He has a meme that was flowing around, Yeah, and
- 30:26Speaker 1: I didn't like. I didn't like that.
- 30:27Speaker 5: I know some people thought it was funny or cool,
- 30:29Speaker 5: but I didn't like. I didn't like them creating a
- 30:32Speaker 5: meme out.
- 30:32Speaker 3: Of out of a kid. No, I think that's not.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Good, Like even know restrictions on that.
- 30:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I used to see that, even with like Gabrielle
- 30:40Speaker 4: Union's daughter. Yeah, like as a baby, she just had
- 30:44Speaker 4: all these funny pictures, but people would take the picture like, oh,
- 30:47Speaker 4: this is me after a good night. Yeah.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Yeah, I didn't like that. It's like, okay, someone was funny,
- 30:55Speaker 1: but yeah, I didn't like it.
- 30:58Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm like a somebody would have did that to
- 31:00Speaker 5: your kids, and you see your kid on the internet
- 31:03Speaker 5: being mean and clipped up in the conversations and stuff
- 31:09Speaker 5: good night.
- 31:09Speaker 3: Yeah, like come on, Like, I don't like that. So yeah,
- 31:15Speaker 3: I have a.
- 31:16Speaker 5: Whole But that's why I see why a lot of
- 31:18Speaker 5: celebrities hide there.
- 31:20Speaker 4: Probably didn't want her baby, but you know, yeah, that's
- 31:25Speaker 4: a lot.
- 31:25Speaker 1: That was a lot. Yeah, they got a lot going on. Yeah,
- 31:29Speaker 1: I don't feel like. That's why I don't feel like
- 31:30Speaker 1: celebrities should date each other. Really, Yeah, if you a celebrity,
- 31:34Speaker 1: I don't think you should date a celebrity. Why not?
- 31:37Speaker 1: I think because you're dealing with two people that have egos.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Who ego is bigger than a celebrity.
- 31:43Speaker 5: Very true, Like who's going You don't want to be
- 31:46Speaker 5: the bigger person to say, hey, you know what I'm wrong?
- 31:50Speaker 1: You're know every celebrity thing, they're right.
- 31:53Speaker 2: It's also very very difficult schedule wise, man, especially when
- 31:57Speaker 2: we were just talking about this off camera. I put you,
- 32:00Speaker 2: I'll pull you into this before we go to commercial
- 32:03Speaker 2: actors and actresses, especially if they're like or someone who's
- 32:07Speaker 2: an actor or actress that's in a marriage, and you
- 32:10Speaker 2: gotta go.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Do a whole love scene. Yeah, and six months you
- 32:14Speaker 1: gotta cut that a couple of times. Yeah, oh yeah,
- 32:16Speaker 1: we need a little bit more fun.
- 32:18Speaker 3: Yep, you've been there.
- 32:20Speaker 1: And you and that person got a connection and y'all
- 32:21Speaker 1: go out for drinks. Yeah, yeah, that's what that's what
- 32:24Speaker 1: we just have the conversation.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I've been there, befive just wasn't in a relationship.
- 32:29Speaker 4: But I know it's like it's like a weird because
- 32:31Speaker 4: like you're in that mind frame and now you have
- 32:34Speaker 4: to step out of.
- 32:35Speaker 1: It, Like, are you starting to believe it.
- 32:37Speaker 3: Yeah, you start to believe, like cause.
- 32:38Speaker 1: It feels good, you're having fun.
- 32:41Speaker 4: But I think what other people don't realize is a
- 32:43Speaker 4: lot of times when you're shooting those love scenes, they're
- 32:45Speaker 4: so yes, I shot several man.
- 32:49Speaker 1: You better not say the typical actor. There's so many
- 32:53Speaker 1: people in the room.
- 32:54Speaker 4: But it's like, Okay, slap a butt, do it harder.
- 33:00Speaker 4: Like it's like, from that standpoint, we're not having a
- 33:04Speaker 4: good time like.
- 33:11Speaker 5: You.
- 33:14Speaker 4: But also to I think another thing to going back
- 33:16Speaker 4: to something that you said, I think that it's not.
- 33:20Speaker 3: Just celebrities not shouldn't date each other.
- 33:23Speaker 4: I think that as a celebrity, you should be mindful
- 33:25Speaker 4: of how another celebrity shows up on social media.
- 33:29Speaker 3: If you don't like.
- 33:30Speaker 4: The way that person shows up on social media, you're
- 33:34Speaker 4: probably gonna not gonna like the way they show up
- 33:36Speaker 4: with your children on social media. So if you're dating someone,
- 33:40Speaker 4: for instance, if they're a streamer and their entire life
- 33:43Speaker 4: is just their day to day, every moment, pranks, you know,
- 33:48Speaker 4: situations that are a little tricky. You're gonna have kids,
- 33:52Speaker 4: they're gonna want to do that with the kids, So
- 33:56Speaker 4: you should factor that in before you procreate with that seen.
- 34:00Speaker 1: People think about that when they horny, But we.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Should, we should, we should go to commercial and Jesse,
- 34:06Speaker 2: we were still here. We're almost done with our episode

- 34:27Speaker 1: I ain't have no filter from the podcast to the
- 34:30Speaker 1: television show.
- 34:33Speaker 2: So I want to take this time to give your flowers.
- 34:35Speaker 2: We are super proud of you. Yes, for the culture.

- 34:48Speaker 2: on the television show because I feel like what we
- 34:51Speaker 2: do is very difficult. Yeah, it's time consuming. You kind
- 34:55Speaker 2: of have to have a switch turned on, and it's
- 34:59Speaker 2: like when the lights on, you can be have.
- 35:00Speaker 1: In a bad day, terrible day, no matter no matter what.
- 35:02Speaker 2: You gotta be that glowing person that they hired you for.
- 35:07Speaker 2: And you do an excellent job of that.
- 35:09Speaker 1: You do it.
- 35:09Speaker 5: We know that you fresh off a fly. You didn't
- 35:11Speaker 5: even commercial you came in here.
- 35:13Speaker 3: You're like.
- 35:15Speaker 5: Yeah, And I was like, you know, I was like, you,
- 35:17Speaker 5: you know, if she wants to reschedules, okay, because I
- 35:19Speaker 5: was like, I understand.
- 35:20Speaker 3: We're gonna do it.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I can't said no, okase, we can try to hit
- 35:23Speaker 1: this deadline.
- 35:24Speaker 2: And you were You're you're a perfect MV.
- 35:28Speaker 4: We're gonna do it. I committed to something.

- 36:14Speaker 5: Can't you donis no okay?
- 36:20Speaker 3: I can't build no house. I can't build no house.
- 36:23Speaker 3: How about that?
- 36:24Speaker 4: Now I can't cook chitlings, I can act, Yes, be
- 36:28Speaker 4: your personalities.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Before we go, though, I do want to say, can
- 36:33Speaker 2: we go over the rices? Because we went viral a
- 36:37Speaker 2: couple of times we talk about all the different Haitian rices.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Can you go over a couple of them that have
- 36:44Speaker 2: been trending lately?
- 36:45Speaker 4: I mean, first and foremost, the best rice in the
- 36:48Speaker 4: world is delley n That is the black rice rice,
- 36:54Speaker 4: the mushroom rice that comes from Haiti Julie Jo and
- 36:59Speaker 4: then Haitians also have. But we have different which is
- 37:03Speaker 4: peas and rice, rice and peas. You know, we have
- 37:06Speaker 4: brown rice and peas. We have uh rice with white peas.
- 37:10Speaker 4: We have rice with green peas.
- 37:12Speaker 1: Like that's my favorite. That's one of my favorites.
- 37:13Speaker 4: Yes, we have so many different rices, like Haitians had
- 37:16Speaker 4: like twenty different rices?
- 37:17Speaker 1: Do you know how to make how many of them?
- 37:20Speaker 3: I can make about three. I can make he around
- 37:23Speaker 3: about three.
- 37:24Speaker 4: But you know what I will say the second to
- 37:27Speaker 4: Haitian rice rices, I love rice and peace from Jamaicans.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Jamaican rice I love. Don't have a whole bunch of
- 37:33Speaker 1: different rices.
- 37:34Speaker 3: No, I don't think so. But I love I love
- 37:36Speaker 3: rice and peace from Jamaicans. And you know what, I'm
- 37:38Speaker 3: going to shout out the Asians. They make a mean
- 37:40Speaker 3: white rice.
- 37:42Speaker 4: I don't think anybody makes white rice like Asians.

- 38:27Speaker 1: You can't get them from Whole Foods. That's a problem.
- 38:29Speaker 1: By the way, why people think criminals don't be out early.
- 38:34Speaker 5: Every time you go somewhere, like remember when I was
- 38:37Speaker 5: in l and then you get me to go to
- 38:39Speaker 5: the store. They say you got to get there early.
