- 0:22Good morning, I feel like I haven't seen you in forever and
- 0:25it's only what, one day later than normal?
- 0:28I know, I'm starting to think we should do this twice a week
- 0:30'cause I literally said to Bobby this morning.
- 0:32I was like, I feel like I haven't talked to Katyn forever
- 0:34or done this with her. Seen your face.
- 0:37I know. And he was like, it's a day
- 0:38late. That might be why.
- 0:39And I was like, well. A day late is way too long.
- 0:42Yes. So can we start with?
- 0:45Whatever you'd like, OK. Thank you the three glimmers.
- 0:51Yes. Do you have some?
- 0:53I am so glad that you are challenging us to do that
- 0:57because there's so many little moments in like a day that's
- 1:00like all that, like, feels good or that like, feels happy.
- 1:04But then when you sit down and like, write them down, I'm like,
- 1:08this is probably my own brain. I'm like, well, that seems kind
- 1:11of like lame or like like that's not big enough to be like a
- 1:16glimmer. So I don't have you start
- 1:18because you just said bring, bring 3 glimmers.
- 1:21I'm guessing that's like kind of like moments of gratitude, like
- 1:24things that made you happy, like that kind of stuff.
- 1:27So to me, the glimmer is more like, well, OK, so people don't
- 1:31know obviously. I said to Kate last week, I was
- 1:33like, I think it'd be fun to bring 3 glimmers that happened
- 1:37in your past week because I've done this before where I saw a
- 1:41reel about some girl who she woke up every morning trying to
- 1:46find glimmers. And I was like, Oh my gosh, I
- 1:48love that. And it's kind of like the red
- 1:50car theory or like when you go and you're going to buy.
- 1:53Yes, exactly. And it's so easy to overlook
- 1:55them. So.
- 1:57So for me. OK, well, one of them might
- 2:00freak you out, but. I just can't wait to see what
- 2:03your definition of or like. That's why you're going to
- 2:06change my list real quick. OK.
- 2:09So. So please continue.
- 2:12I'm just saying that way too literal I'm sure.
- 2:15I'm gonna save that one for 3rd because, OK, so cliffhanger.
- 2:18I know. So you have to keep listing for
- 2:21the next two minutes. OK, so my first one was I found
- 2:26a. It's just things that bring me
- 2:28joy. That's what I think of when I
- 2:29think of Glimmer. The show called Homegrown.
- 2:33It's on. You can watch it on HBO.
- 2:36It's through the Magnolia Network and it's where she goes.
- 2:41She's in Georgia and which I kind of want to move there or
- 2:45have like a dream, dream another home there sometime because I
- 2:49have family there. And so she goes, she has her own
- 2:53farm. It's like in the neighborhood.
- 2:55And then she goes to people's houses and goes into their
- 2:57backyard, basically does a remodel of their backyard so
- 3:01that there's like a fire pit like but mainly gardens.
- 3:05So she talks about how to garden the veggies and I can't watch it
- 3:09at night. I get too excited, I can't
- 3:11sleep. Are you serious?
- 3:13I swear it's insane. So there's Four Seasons.
- 3:18I've already watched all the episodes, which is very sad.
- 3:21I thought there was 5. So anyway, so that was a big
- 3:24glimmer. Got me very.
- 3:26Excited. It's what?
- 3:27Is that the glimmer is finding that show OK?
- 3:30I think I'm on the right track for glimmers then.
- 3:32OK, yay. OK.
- 3:34Do you want to do 1 each? Yeah.
- 3:35I'll do one now so one of my glimmers and you can, well, I
- 3:39guess we can all have our own definitions of glimmers.
- 3:41I was going to say tell me if I'm wrong with this glimmer.
- 3:44But this week I didn't like start them all this week, but
- 3:48I've started three different books, an audio book, a physical
- 3:53book and a book on my Kindle that I'm reading all at
- 3:56different in the past and I finished them all within this
- 4:00week. And yeah, so I I've been reading
- 4:04all of them at the same time. Oh, got it.
- 4:06OK, OK. So like it when I'm in the car
- 4:08or I'm walking dogs, I'm listening to my audio book.
- 4:10At night before I go to bed, I'm reading my Kindle and during the
- 4:15day, if you know I'm I don't know, it's kind of like my wine
- 4:21down time, but also like maybe a morning read.
- 4:23I'm reading my physical book, but I finished all of them like
- 4:28within this week. So I started them all kind of
- 4:31around the same time. One book is a book that I'm
- 4:35doing kind of like a little mini book club with my sister and my
- 4:37friend. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 4:38And so we meet every Sunday and talk about the book.
- 4:41So that one I kind of knew when I was going to be finishing
- 4:43because it was just like, we read this much this week.
- 4:46And then my Kindle one was just like, again, I read a couple
- 4:50pages. Sometimes at night I'm about to
- 4:52fall asleep and then other times I'm reading multiple pages.
- 4:55But it was three books that I like, loved all ending at the
- 4:59same time. And they were all so different.
- 5:02So it felt like I was like living while I'm living my own
- 5:07life, like in these three different worlds as well.
- 5:10So it felt very like I you need, I think you would really like
- 5:13reading. I know you don't read like any
- 5:16fiction books really, but it just like takes me away from
- 5:22like it makes me a spend way less time on my phone, which
- 5:26I'm, I think I'm way worse about that than you are because you
- 5:30have your brick. But yeah, so that was a glimmer.
- 5:33It's like me finishing three books and enjoying all of them.
- 5:38Oh my gosh. OK, so.
- 5:40That's probably how it is, how you feel about shows, which I
- 5:43love shows too. But like, I love a book where I
- 5:47feel like, especially a couple of them, like, you know, there's
- 5:49some middle parts that are some slow burn, but all three of
- 5:53them, like I couldn't wait to either pick it back up or hit
- 5:57play again while I'm like walk. I love that.
- 5:59Wow. Yeah.
- 6:00So I was just. Like finding?
- 6:02Oh, go ahead. Well, I just had the only
- 6:05because I don't like reading, only because I feel like my eyes
- 6:08get blurry from looking at my laptop so much recently.
- 6:11So I did listen to an audio book.
- 6:13I still have to finish it, but I I got that feeling.
- 6:16I haven't had that feeling about a book and forever where I
- 6:19couldn't wait to listen. It was Lena Dunham and her
- 6:22memoir. But yeah, so, but so that
- 6:26feeling I totally get. It's very exciting.
- 6:29Yeah, yeah. So I love that because it just
- 6:32gives you that like I can't wait to pick it back up.
- 6:34Like I want to know what's going to happen, even if there's like
- 6:37slow burn moments. In one of the books I was
- 6:39reading, it's called the Wedding people and this is the one
- 6:41they're doing for the book club. I there's something I'm sure
- 6:45like everyone can relate to this where you can like smell a smell
- 6:49and it'll take you somewhere or it'll bring you to someone or
- 6:52hear someone. Like I'm reading this book that
- 6:55we're reading. It's based out of Newport, RI.
- 6:57So you know, the area that Casey and I got married and stuff is
- 7:01like not far from that. And like we've gone to Newport
- 7:04growing up so many times. So they're talking about like
- 7:07this road and like the cobblestone on this road.
- 7:11And I could physically put myself there and I would get
- 7:14like this butterfly feeling while I was reading this book
- 7:17and I felt felt like my body could physically drop.
- 7:20There isn't that. Weird.
- 7:23I'm like, I don't know if other people, I know other people can
- 7:26like obviously feel that, but like I felt like my body was
- 7:30there. It was so weird.
- 7:32So like, that was a glimmer because I'm like, that's truly
- 7:34my happy place is Rhode Island. Oh my gosh.
- 7:38Wait, so that's the second glimmer?
- 7:40You know that's that's in the book, but like all the books
- 7:44making me happy is my wow 3 of. One that seems like major
- 7:48glimmer. Well, I've never done that
- 7:50before. That was a first for me.
- 7:52So I was pretty impressed with myself.
- 7:55It took me a while to finish all of those, but like, yeah, it was
- 7:59really cool how they all came to fruition at the end together.
- 8:02I thought it would be like, I'm gonna finish this one like a
- 8:04couple weeks out, but they all, I finished them all this week.
- 8:08Wow. Oh no.
- 8:09I've always wished that I was an avid book reader.
- 8:13I just really never was. Really never was.
- 8:17No. Why weren't you?
- 8:18I didn't. I was like, am I gonna sit down
- 8:20and read a book? Especially, especially when I
- 8:22was younger, Like my sister's always been a book person.
- 8:26Like, OK, if we were at home and it was like downtime, she's up
- 8:29in her room. She would rearrange her room
- 8:31like weekly, like move her bed and like by herself, rearrange
- 8:34her room. And like her bed, she would make
- 8:36into almost like a book nook where she's like, you know, has
- 8:39like a little canopy over her bed and like she'd be just like
- 8:42reading on her bed. And I'm like, what?
- 8:44I'd be playing my Nintendo 64 like I I was a gamer or I was
- 8:48like, you know, out rollerblading or something like
- 8:51that. Like I was definitely like, I
- 8:53need to do stuff. I need to move, I need to like
- 8:55be busy. Shocker.
- 8:58So I just never like even growing up and even into like
- 9:02high school and stuff like that. I would like see everyone
- 9:04reading on the beach when we'd go to Rhode Island in the summer
- 9:07and I'm like, that looks so vibey, especially as I got
- 9:09older. I'm like, no, I need to go
- 9:10swimming. Like I need to go like
- 9:13literally, I'm still probably 15 building a sandcastle.
- 9:17So I just never really, I don't think I gave it a shot.
- 9:22I think that was more than anything cuz I feel like when I
- 9:24did have to read, it was like you're in school and you're
- 9:27being told to read a book that it's like, I would never pick
- 9:29this book up. Oh yes for sure.
- 9:32Like the only time I ever felt like I loved reading was after I
- 9:36went to Renfrew, an eating disorder facility, for a month
- 9:40and it was in my, I think early 20s.
- 9:43Definitely after high school and I remember we were there cuz
- 9:48when I we got there also that's the first time I ever had
- 9:51coffee. So they got me hooked on coffee.
- 9:54No way. Yeah.
- 9:56I like really looked forward to my little teeny cup of coffee.
- 9:59But anyway, so but I remember being there and before that I
- 10:04was addicted to TV like our family is ATV family.
- 10:08Same with mine. OK, so always watching TV,
- 10:11always had it on, always watching.
- 10:13So I was like, what am I going to do in this pre, you know,
- 10:17phones and social media and stuff?
- 10:18So I was like, Oh my gosh, my TV.
- 10:21So when I got out of there, I remember one day I had a
- 10:25cabriolet. Do you know what that car is?
- 10:28No, I don't think so. Maybe if I saw it I would know
- 10:30what that is, but I don't know it based on the name.
- 10:32It's basically a Jetta convertible.
- 10:35Oh my gosh, you were just so cool.
- 10:36I don't think I appreciate it as much back then, but I remember
- 10:39this one I. Talked about cars on a walk this
- 10:41last time that, and I think you told me about that.
- 10:44Yeah, that was it, yes. And I remember you saying that
- 10:47same thing like I don't think I appreciated it.
- 10:49Well, I like 1. I love being.
- 10:51Like a a young woman in Florida with a convertible.
- 10:56In high school, and I remember this girl who Emily Smythe, who
- 11:00she really nice, but very, like, pretty and all the guys liked
- 11:05and stuff. And she had a Lexus, which we
- 11:08all thought was like, Oh my God, that's the coolest thing ever.
- 11:10Yeah. And who's this cute little
- 11:13Lexus? And one day she came up to me
- 11:15after I got my cabriolet. You can't say that enough.
- 11:17I just love saying it. It was.
- 11:19Like who? Like Lexus?
- 11:20Who? Cabriolet.
- 11:22I know I feel like I'm French. I don't think that's French.
- 11:25Hi, my name is Bethany like talk really normal and I drive at
- 11:27Cabriolet I. Think I mentioned that car to
- 11:32Bobby twice this past week very randomly, but it was olive green
- 11:37with a tan top Anyway, so but she came up to me and was like
- 11:42one day at lunch she was like, whoa, I love your car.
- 11:46And I was like, Oh my God, like, you know, and someone cool like
- 11:49Bethany you. Have no idea this is my entire
- 11:51high school experience where I was like reaching like who could
- 11:57tell me I was kind of cool and I was like stay less but actually
- 12:02tell me more did. You like play it cool like wow.
- 12:07I would have had no idea that that was cool.
- 12:09And then you think about the entire rest of the day like, Oh
- 12:11my God. Really cool.
- 12:13So, so after run through, I got back home.
- 12:16I was driving one time and before this I had the TV on,
- 12:20always had music on, always listening to something, just had
- 12:23to constantly have things on. And one day I was driving in the
- 12:28cabriolet and no music was on, just the windows down.
- 12:32And I was like, Oh my God, I think going to this place made
- 12:37it so that I didn't have to listen to things.
- 12:39And I one of my favorite things was driving to Barnes and Noble,
- 12:43sitting or laying in an aisle reading a book.
- 12:49I can see this. I didn't even think, like, who's
- 12:52been stepping here? That was not it it.
- 12:53Was a public store, not even a. It's not even like a library,
- 12:57it's a bookstore. Oh, and there were chairs where
- 13:00people were sitting. And I don't just mean like
- 13:03lightly, like really deep sitting in the chairs.
- 13:05Anyway, deep sitting. I have this memory of one of the
- 13:11chairs looking a little disheveled, a little dirty.
- 13:14Oh yeah. Oh, for sure.
- 13:16Like a chair. Like a big cozy chair.
- 13:18Oh yeah, yeah, they're not chairs that you necessarily want
- 13:21to sit in. No.
- 13:23But they look inviting until. You I don't know if like laying
- 13:26on the aisle floor is the best next step, but it's.
- 13:28OK, tell the tale, yeah. I'd get a coffee I loved, you
- 13:34know, the feeling, You know, like when we've been to Whole
- 13:36Foods and we get the fancy water and we're like, oh, it's just a
- 13:38feeling. So I would go in.
- 13:40There's a Starbucks in the Barnes and Noble.
- 13:42I'd get a little coffee, go and lay in the aisle, read a book
- 13:46from this one author I found who I used to love her books.
- 13:49And if anyone knows it, that will be wild to me.
- 13:52Jennifer, it's Weiner. But you could say Weiner.
- 13:56Oh yeah, I've definitely seen that author's name.
- 14:00Yeah, yeah. But that was the first time
- 14:04where I was. It was like I my brain wasn't
- 14:07super noisy, and even with distractions, I could really
- 14:11focus on the book. Yeah.
- 14:13Wild. Yeah.
- 14:14But that's the last time I remember really being able to
- 14:16read. Well, maybe you need to get back
- 14:18to it. The audiobook.
- 14:21Seems so uninterested with that. I would.
- 14:23I'd rather watch TV, but I would love to be someone who reads a
- 14:28book. Why can't you do both?
- 14:29I love watching TV. It's almost painful reading a
- 14:32book to me. Really.
- 14:35Now, does reading a cookbook count?
- 14:37That's not the same. I do not like reading cookbooks.
- 14:40Oh see, I could do that all day long like.
- 14:42What reading recipes? Well, there's one it's Have you
- 14:45ever seen the documentary series Salt, Acid, Fat Heat?
- 14:49No. Oh.
- 14:51My God. Well, she has a cookbook and
- 14:53it's not really there's some recipes, but there's also really
- 14:56cute illustrations in it. Like on her it's a like force
- 15:03episode docu series on Netflix and her illustrator is in one of
- 15:08her episodes drawing little beans.
- 15:10It's I could read that. Yeah, I could like, yeah, glance
- 15:14through it and then put it on my bookshelf and probably never
- 15:18look at it again. OK, well I have.
- 15:21Some cookbooks, they're just decor.
- 15:24Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Like some of the books, which one of them?
- 15:27I turned back around, but you turned it 'cause it looks nicer
- 15:31when it's on. Well, I like it both ways, but
- 15:33yeah, sometimes if you. It's nice visually, yeah.
- 15:36Yeah, OK. 2nd glimmer Was it only our each of our first
- 15:41glimmers? Yes OK, so my second, you know
- 15:45what, I'm going to jump to the third because now I just want to
- 15:47tell it. But I was saying to Bobby this
- 15:51morning when I was talking to him about the glimmers and I was
- 15:54like, I I want to say this one as a glimmer, but I don't know
- 15:57what it's going to say about me because I don't know.
- 16:00But and also it includes a mouse.
- 16:05OK, is it you know my? You know my irrational fear of
- 16:09mine. No.
- 16:09Are you going to be OK if I tell?
- 16:10You I can hear a story. OK, if it's not like in your
- 16:13vicinity? What do you?
- 16:16No, no, I'm like, what do you mean?
- 16:19Is there something about a mouse in my house?
- 16:21No, no, I'm good. A mouse?
- 16:23Cute. A little mouse with little ears.
- 16:25So we saw a couple in the garden which I haven't seen like a
- 16:30mouse, and it was small, not a rat, but yeah.
- 16:34A rat don't even start with that, but a mouse?
- 16:38OK, it's little. I can, I can handle this.
- 16:40Yep. One of our chickens ate one.
- 16:45This is a glimmer. This is a glimmer.
- 16:48The. Only reason, the only reason
- 16:50it's. They are murderous chickens.
- 16:54Yeah, I don't know if the glimmer is the right word, but
- 16:56it was more like because I've been watching this gardening
- 16:59show, I'm really into the garden right now and it felt like a
- 17:04little ecosystem. I know.
- 17:06Well, I'm regretting saying this out loud as a glimmer because.
- 17:12I I, I thought you were going with like, I found the mouse
- 17:18just like cute that it was in my garden and it felt like that was
- 17:22like, you know, a nice area that they wanted to like bed.
- 17:27They felt safe. No, they're being murdered by my
- 17:30chickens and that's my glimmer. Eww.
- 17:33And did you see it? Eating it?
- 17:35I did. And this is a glimmer, Bethany.
- 17:38I'm not even going to tell. You.
- 17:39You're like rainbows and butterflies, friend.
- 17:42But I think we might be a. Little.
- 17:45Psycho in there. I like the chicken so much, it
- 17:51just felt. Like it was Loretta, No.
- 17:54She tried. It was one of the black ones.
- 17:57The two black ones that are here because they are your like more
- 18:00docile, like chill. So they're just lurking in the
- 18:05shadows to come out and murder. You know how like who you're
- 18:12around really impacts how you are as a person.
- 18:15When I'm watching this, I have Bobby next to me who is like
- 18:19basically cheering them on. So that's why I thought maybe I
- 18:25get. I get being like sweet, I don't
- 18:27want mice in my yard. And yeah, and like, it's a
- 18:32clean, healthy, like way for them to go out.
- 18:35And it's. I get that.
- 18:36But we're calling it a glimmer. That's my.
- 18:39Own put that aside. Let's so that's a side by line.
- 18:45So the glimmer is that you feel like you have a little ecosystem
- 18:47in the backyard. Yes, because my second was about
- 18:50my soil, my compost pile. Let's go with that one, because
- 18:54let's forget I talked about the. Other Oh, I'm so glad we brought
- 18:57that up. Glad you felt that that was a
- 19:02glimmer. Wait till you hear my second
- 19:04glimmer. It's just like very monotonous,
- 19:06like has nothing to do with an ecosystem on my.
- 19:09Back. Let me just say, to balance this
- 19:10out, earlier in the week I saved a mouse that was swimming in our
- 19:14pool. You didn't watch it drown.
- 19:16No, I saved it. No, God, I'm not a OK that that
- 19:21would be psychopath behavior. OK.
- 19:23Like I'm just gonna watch him drown.
- 19:27I would be like I need to reconsider this fun check.
- 19:30No. Can you imagine?
- 19:32If I was like, if you're just like I, my glimmer is that I saw
- 19:35a mouse drown in my pool, I would be scared.
- 19:39No, I wouldn't believe. It I would be like, you're
- 19:41trying to like make me have a reaction right now, is what I
- 19:45was saying. I was like, there's no way you
- 19:47actually would want this. 'Cause if I wrote a children's
- 19:54book, a mouse would be in it for sure.
- 19:56So it's like, but I also, I can't eat chickens anymore.
- 20:00I can't eat. So it's like, you know, there's
- 20:03a lot of aspects to my farming personality.
- 20:06So when we were making chicken thighs there, I know that
- 20:08initially you were like I just. But have you guys not really
- 20:10eaten much chicken since we left?
- 20:12No, really. I could eat the eggs, eat the
- 20:15eggs, beef. OK.
- 20:19Beef. I got some pork tenderloin
- 20:21Turkey with. We just like the Turkey with the
- 20:24soup. Yeah.
- 20:26Yeah. I just.
- 20:26I can't see the flesh. That's fair.
- 20:30OK, But I mean, you're out calling them the girls, so I.
- 20:33Really like them so much. OK, tell me your second glimmer.
- 20:38Mine is just very straightforward that for our
- 20:40Hawaii trip in October, we booked a convertible that was
- 20:45like, mine is nothing I didn't think we were.
- 20:50Going to Hawaii. Yeah, I thought that we in
- 20:54October, we're going with Casey's family and Casey's
- 20:59brother and now fiance are getting married while we're out
- 21:03there. Yeah.
- 21:05So they're kind of doing like an elopement and then we're all
- 21:07afterwards doing like a dinner, you know, little party for them.
- 21:12Oh, that's so nice. Convertible in Hawaii, Yeah.
- 21:16I know it's. We did.
- 21:17A Mustang convertible. I don't I know how you feel
- 21:20about Mustangs. But I mean y'all could break the
- 21:22stigma. Yeah.
- 21:23And we don't know until it's just like you picked a
- 21:26convertible. All we put is that we wanted to
- 21:28make sure that we had a four seat convertible.
- 21:30You can't like pick the the. Cabriolet.
- 21:35I don't even know do they make those anymore.
- 21:36No, they don't know. That's why I would be
- 21:38unbelievable. Because usually rental cars,
- 21:42it's like they're a little bit newer.
- 21:45Because I also feel like some companies are trying to like
- 21:47have it be where it's like gonna be a sales like, oh, they drove
- 21:50this in the rental car and then I wanna go buy 1.
- 21:52So they're never like 20 year old cars or anything like that,
- 21:56OK Unless it's like, I know in some areas you can rent like
- 22:00vintage cars. We're definitely not doing that.
- 22:02You know, that would be so cool. It's probably a Mustang.
- 22:04I bet. I'm gonna bet, yeah.
- 22:06I bet you it like. We'll break the stigma,
- 22:08obviously. It'll be so fun.
- 22:10Yes, so fun. Oh, that's a great glimmer.
- 22:13Yeah, God, my other glimmer, since you already gave me yours,
- 22:15is so we have these in the morning, these love doves.
- 22:19I call them love doves, but I think there's called mourning
- 22:21doves. But I like calling them love
- 22:22doves because there's two. Yeah.
- 22:25I looked at them the other morning and 1 was like
- 22:28scratching its neck and it reminded me of fit.
- 22:32It looked like a Kitty. And I was like, love doves are
- 22:37like little kitties in bird form.
- 22:40And it now I saw it this morning doing a little neck scratchy
- 22:44thing that our cat does and I'm like, I can't Unsee it.
- 22:49So now I see these mourning doves as little flying kitties.
- 22:55Oh my gosh. And people that hate cats would
- 22:57probably be like that sounds disgusting.
- 23:00People hate cannats. Hate.
- 23:03Bethany people are savage about cats are.
- 23:06You serious? Awful, I bet you.
- 23:09Obviously not from ever having them.
- 23:13I don't know, but like anyone that's like I hate it's like I
- 23:18hate a dog. It's like who peed in your
- 23:22Cheerios? Like why are you so upset?
- 23:24So aggressive? It is so intense.
- 23:26People literally hate cats. Yes, like I know like I'll even
- 23:33literally when people I'm like, are you a cat person?
- 23:35Because like cats are savage and ours is.
- 23:38I know she is like love her to death and she's super cute and
- 23:42like pretty and like people want a pet and she comes out like but
- 23:45I know she'll scratch and bite and stuff like that.
- 23:48So like but you don't have to usually ask people like are you
- 23:52a dog person? Yeah.
- 23:54It's always like, I feel like I have to like, are you a cat
- 23:57person? And maybe it's just because I
- 23:58want to make sure they don't think they can just go like pet
- 24:01a cat uncontrollably on the belly and expect it to be OK
- 24:04with it. I want to kind of give them a
- 24:05forewarning that like, she'll bite.
- 24:08Yeah, yeah, she's not trained. Like there's no training my cat.
- 24:12But yeah, people hate cats and I don't get it.
- 24:15I guess it doesn't. Surprise me because everyone is.
- 24:17It's OK if people don't like about things.
- 24:19Because like, I wouldn't call Bobby like a cat person, but
- 24:22he's not like, I hate cats. No, yeah.
- 24:25So it's OK if people are like, I can associate with people that
- 24:28are like me. I'm I'm good.
- 24:30Like that's fine. But people that are like, I
- 24:32would take a cat out back and kill him.
- 24:35Oh my God, yes. Wait.
- 24:38Well, that's a whole other. I feel like.
- 24:41Yeah, that took another turn. Like if you ever hear someone
- 24:44say that, that is. I have like what in there, yes.
- 24:50In person. Yes, maybe not to that extreme,
- 24:53but like that thing should be taken Outback.
- 24:55I'm like, how are you to say that?
- 24:57Yes, what? I was like this farmer person.
- 25:02OK, well. Oh my God.
- 25:03I can't give detail on who said this, but yeah, I'm like, you're
- 25:07a sociopath. You know the right term that you
- 25:09would use. But I probably shouldn't be like
- 25:11diagnosing people. But that's how we feel.
- 25:13That's my feeling. So there's my glimmers.
- 25:17But now I got a good idea on what glimmers are and I feel
- 25:20like we're both on. Yeah, well, there's fifteen
- 25:24other glimmers that like the other I 'cause I'm gonna replace
- 25:27the chicken 1. So I was walking with two dogs
- 25:31and Cora, who I have whose sweetest little lab walking, and
- 25:36there was a bird that was just like singing, singing, singing,
- 25:39and it was a really pretty blue sky.
- 25:42Did you post on your story? Yes, like stuff like that.
- 25:46That is where it really glimmers, chicken killer aside,
- 25:50where it makes you notice things.
- 25:53It's kind of like when you reach a goal and then this is what I
- 25:56hate about goals so much, but I also love them is once you reach
- 26:00it, then it's like, oh, OK, we're there's so many things for
- 26:03the day like. Why don't you just, yes, I know
- 26:05and I'm, I'm totally that way. But then when I look back,
- 26:09sometimes I'm like, why don't I just like enjoy the moments to
- 26:12get to that goal or then like really sitting in in that goal
- 26:15and like enjoying what was accomplished type of thing.
- 26:17Yeah, so same with glimmers where it just makes you look at
- 26:20things differently. Yeah, something funny that
- 26:23happened literally this morning right before we recorded.
- 26:26And now I can kind of see it as a glimmer since you used that
- 26:28mouse one as a glimmer. We're sitting here and a bird
- 26:33just bashes into the side window and I'm like, Oh my gosh.
- 26:37And I go over and luckily, like, it must have flown off.
- 26:39And Casey's first response is, well, do they have enough food?
- 26:44I'm thinking, you think that they're flying their bodies into
- 26:48the windows because they're like, they're like, hello,
- 26:51fetus, we need more food. And they have food.
- 26:54I just filled them up. But I thought that that was so
- 26:57funny that he thought that, like, the bird was running
- 27:00itself potentially to death into the window because it's
- 27:04demanding us to give us more food.
- 27:06Feed me. Oh, man, I can't remember.
- 27:09I know you said that you watched the show, but someone in the
- 27:12comments said to watch Shrinking.
- 27:17Oh yes. It's my new comfort show.
- 27:21So. Good.
- 27:22We're still in Season 1, no Season 2.
- 27:25I think I obviously there's like heavy and sad topics and stuff
- 27:33like that, but the dynamics of I feel like it's setting people up
- 27:36to fail that that friendship. I know.
- 27:41I'm like that like neighbor dynamic and then they're all
- 27:44besties. I'm like, maybe that happened
- 27:47some places, but I'm like, I literally want that.
- 27:51Like I want to, but I don't want to.
- 27:53I know this sounds so crazy but I don't want to like buddy buddy
- 27:55with my neighbors but if like is Derek are my neighbors.
- 27:59Yes. Bring it to me like you know.
- 28:02Every time I watch it, I think about how and they're
- 28:05characters, you know, written for TV.
- 28:07But the thing I love the most about them and how so many
- 28:09people are not like this where and again, so let's say they're
- 28:13real so they don't overthink what they say.
- 28:16They literally just say whatever they're thinking.
- 28:18And I think so many people overthink all these things, and
- 28:23that is what's so great about those relationships and those.
- 28:27Characters and it helps that like majority of them are
- 28:30therapists so they're probably really good at like saying what
- 28:32they need to say, but like Derek, who's not the therapist,
- 28:36he reminds me and even Casey Casey's like I relate to him so
- 28:40much like he reminds me of like what older Casey would be like,
- 28:44like some of the things he says and he's just like this like
- 28:47happy guy that, but also like I love when they start to like
- 28:51take him a little bit more seriously too, because he's not
- 28:53like he's not like this dumb guy.
- 28:56He's just like really happy and I think sometimes when people
- 28:59are like the like happy find the silver lining the cup is, you
- 29:03know, half full versus half empty.
- 29:07People don't always take that person very seriously and I feel
- 29:11like especially and I'm luckily seeing him get back to that.
- 29:15But like, that was very, very much Casey before going through
- 29:19all the stuff that he went through and I would even
- 29:22sometimes pick on him for it of being like, all right, here
- 29:25comes Casey's like toxic positivity and or like, you
- 29:29know, being like, Oh, Mr. where's my silver lining?
- 29:34Sometimes you have to like just listen to people and not always
- 29:38give them a like, well, it could be like, you know, trying to be
- 29:41like, it could be worse type of thing.
- 29:43So once in a while, like if it was like a friend talking to us
- 29:46about something, sometimes I would just say like, maybe
- 29:48sometimes just listen. Like not everyone wants a yeah
- 29:52or like a, you know, well, at least you're not this.
- 29:56And it's like in. But I also appreciate that about
- 30:01him so much that he literally like Will.
- 30:05I also, I'll say Will, I'll say not as much this past year, but
- 30:09like we're getting back there. But especially before that was
- 30:12very much him like finding the positive thing.
- 30:14And that's why I feel like that's very much you too.
- 30:17It's like finding like the positive and something, even if
- 30:21it like, I don't know, I just feel like I really liked Derek.
- 30:24I think he's hilarious. He like brings this like levity
- 30:28to a situation. But one of the things that I'm
- 30:31like, I literally look over at Casey when he says it because it
- 30:34was literally us. And he's like, I again relate to
- 30:38this so much. Was he was out talking to one of
- 30:41the neighbors or something? And he's like, well, I don't I'm
- 30:46going to totally botch how he said it, but something about
- 30:48he's looking for the scissors and he's like, well, I'm not
- 30:52going to ask Liz where the scissors are.
- 30:53So I'm going to go look for them all day because like versus
- 30:57being like for the play at the 10th time, here are the scissors
- 31:02and she plays like, Oh my gosh, they're here where they always
- 31:05are. He's like, I'm just gonna go
- 31:06look for them all day. That is literally Casey.
- 31:10Like there will be things that it's like he'll ask me where
- 31:12something is. I'm like the same cabinet's been
- 31:15for five years that we've lived here.
- 31:17Like what? What?
- 31:20Oh, but I'm just finding probably all.
- 31:22Are watching. It yeah, we're both loving it.
- 31:25Totally turning into like this is a show that I could totally
- 31:28rewatch. It's so good.
- 31:31I'm excited to. See you you're gonna make us
- 31:32want to rewatch it because we just finished the last season.
- 31:36OK, Yeah. So how many?
- 31:37Seasons. Are there a couple more?
- 31:38Huh. How many seasons are there?
- 31:41I think 43 or 4. They go so fast because they're
- 31:44only like 30 minute episodes. No, they're so short, the whole
- 31:49thing because you've gotten wait with only.
- 31:52In the beginning of season 2. So like what just is happening
- 32:00his the last episode we just watched was I don't even
- 32:03remember his name, but this cute teenage boy that comes to take
- 32:08Alice on like they're going to go get pizza or something like
- 32:11that. And dad is what is his name
- 32:14again? Jason's character Jimmy.
- 32:17And Jimmy throws a grape up in the air and catches it and is
- 32:21choking in the kitchen and he's like telling the high schooler
- 32:24who's just being like, let me let like about telling him not
- 32:27to help. And then finally he invites him
- 32:29in to help and the kid does the Heimlich on him or whatever.
- 32:35And then Alice was like did blah, blah, blah.
- 32:38I don't remember his name. Save your life.
- 32:39He's like, well, I wouldn't quite say he saved my life.
- 32:42That's the episode that we're. OK, I'm not going to say that I
- 32:46don't know if you're at this other part, but there's some
- 32:47really cool storylines. OK, for sure.
- 32:50Have you ever seen oh, what is the show?
- 32:54I feel like it's a good, it's a feel good comfort show.
- 32:58It's on Apple. It's about the soccer team in.
- 33:03Oh, Ted Lasso. Yeah.
- 33:04Oh yeah. Yeah, we love Ted Lasso.
- 33:07It gives that kind of vibe, like how it's filmed, the humor,
- 33:12which I feel like Jason Segel and isn't that Jason Sudeikis
- 33:15that's in. Yeah, they give similar vibes.
- 33:19Not necessarily how they look, but just like their mannerisms
- 33:23and stuff I feel like are kind of similar, yeah.
- 33:25Yeah. Do you want me to ask you one of
- 33:27these questions? Yes, do it.
- 33:29Do it. OK, Poppy was like, are you
- 33:32doing these because you're worried about running a book to
- 33:35talk about? I was like.
- 33:36No, no, we're usually like at an hour and it's like, oh, we need
- 33:39to wrap this up while you're finding a question.
- 33:41I'm going to quickly text Mandy before she gets here for because
- 33:44I realized I forgot to write a list.
- 33:46OK, no. Hi Mandy.
- 33:49If you're listening to this, hi Mandy, I'm I'm texting you a
- 33:53little starting to the list, OK? And I have no idea, I have
- 33:58obviously have not looked at it, even though Bobby pulled one the
- 34:00other day and it was so cute and I wanted to ask you, but we'll
- 34:03save it, OK? You ready?
- 34:06Yep. OK, so these are I heard these
- 34:10on a podcast and it's Wild Card with Rachel Martin.
- 34:15OK, NPR OK. Pulled a card.
- 34:19Oh, what feels unreachable to you?
- 34:23Oh. Not much like nothing that and
- 34:29when I say that, I mean it like in a I've found a lot of comfort
- 34:34and I feel like I always have want.
- 34:37I always want more like I definitely like.
- 34:41I mean, I think that that's an OK thing, but I, there's nothing
- 34:44like I'm so like I love like I could be like I want a 6000
- 34:51square foot house. I want like, but like I love our
- 34:54home. I love that type of thing.
- 34:55So something I would say that feels like unreachable right now
- 35:00is maybe finding a true balance of where I want this can kind of
- 35:15go back to like me talking about turning 34, where I want to go
- 35:18professionally and personally. I feel like because again, so
- 35:24much of that is like you can't put a lot of control around it.
- 35:28You can't do so much planning. So like when I think of like
- 35:32what my I have almost like 2 perfect lives in my head right
- 35:36now and I'm trying to figure out how to merge them and right now
- 35:39that feels slightly unreachable. Can you tell a little bit about
- 35:42each life? I think you've touched on it.
- 35:43You don't have to. Like professionally, I would
- 35:47love to build a larger team under me where I'm really only
- 35:53training dogs and working with people because I'm the top of
- 35:58the top and I'm being like paid to go out and fly out to help
- 36:01people that want my approach and my demeanor to help them and
- 36:06their dog. Or people are, you know, coming
- 36:10here and I'm training one dog on my own, but then like my team is
- 36:14doing the rest. I'm potentially doing seminars,
- 36:18but not in a way where it's just like cranking them out every
- 36:22single week. And it'd be more of like retreat
- 36:24style seminars for owners and dogs and dog trainers and a mix
- 36:30of stuff. More of like, and also very
- 36:31women focused, I would say, or couple focused where it's really
- 36:36helping couples that also find like conflict within working
- 36:42with their challenging dog that I find I attract a lot of.
- 36:47And I think that I have a lot of expertise in that at this point.
- 36:50Because also when we were going through the trenches with
- 36:53Roadie, there was totally conflict between Casey and I.
- 36:57I, you know, want to just be the sought after, not just even
- 37:02trainer, but like supporting, helping people and then also
- 37:08trainers, helping owners live a life that doesn't feel out of
- 37:14balanced. So that's like professionally
- 37:16where you know, where it's like we can't make enough E courses
- 37:20to keep up with things like I want, I'd want that to be like,
- 37:23that's like my professional goal.
- 37:25But then also that means way more time for me to not have to
- 37:30be. I'm going down to the kennel
- 37:33room to teach dog place, like less, less of that, more of
- 37:37what's going on up in my brain to give to people.
- 37:41And then personally, I feel like this, I don't know.
- 37:47I just feel like this poll of like I I don't even know how to
- 37:50really that I want to be in a little bit more of my not soft
- 37:55era. I don't know the way, but like
- 37:57where I'm letting up some of my like boss babe mentality, like
- 38:04I'm so entrepreneurial, business driven.
- 38:07I love like that, that I'm like really wanting to lean into like
- 38:13having Casey have his time to like grind, if you will, and to
- 38:18like take care of those types of things without me feeling the
- 38:23pressure of needing to do that, like financially.
- 38:27And I can tell he's definitely, he's been pushing himself big
- 38:30time in like a good way. And so like almost personally
- 38:36letting myself be a little bit more like I don't need to be
- 38:39doing all the things. And that for me honestly feels
- 38:43more unattainable than the other.
- 38:45Because that's really hard for you.
- 38:46It's. Really hard for me because I
- 38:48like doing all the things. Yes.
- 38:50And so like now that it can't still do a lot by like slowing
- 38:55things down a little bit. But yeah, that's, that's a tough
- 39:00one for me. But I do feel like I am living a
- 39:04little bit of that balance, which is great.
- 39:05I do feel that. I just, yeah, I think more and
- 39:10more and you know, we've talked about it too, and I've gotten
- 39:12better on so many things, but I would like to be less physically
- 39:16demanding on how much I ask my body to do for me every single
- 39:22day with working with the dogs in person.
- 39:26Yeah. Yeah.
- 39:28You're going to answer that question.
- 39:31It feels. Unattainable.
- 39:33Well, I loved hearing about yours because I love hearing
- 39:37those goals and it makes me think about when I visited you
- 39:41in your first house and you I, I remember that so vividly where
- 39:47you were talking about your vision and dream of having other
- 39:51trainers and you said specifically like female dog
- 39:53trainers, but a team to work with you.
- 39:57And I was like, Oh my God, that's so cool.
- 39:58And that was like 7 years ago or something.
- 40:02So hearing you say that, it's just so cool to hear.
- 40:07For me, what feels unreachable it's more about.
- 40:14Being around family, so I, I have this vision where I would
- 40:19love to have a piece of property in Georgia closer to family, but
- 40:25then I start thinking like, I feel like it's going to be too
- 40:29late when we are able to do that or that's what I worry about
- 40:32because it would be great right now or.
- 40:34Meaning like you're a niece and nephew will be so much older
- 40:36when like financially it's attainable type of thing.
- 40:39Yeah, or my brother and his wife, they might move.
- 40:44They've talked about, you know, jokingly, like when y'all go to
- 40:48college, we're going to move out to Colorado.
- 40:51And so I, I would, I wish that could happen right now.
- 40:55And I think everything happens for a reason.
- 40:57But that kind of dream where it kind of feels a little bit
- 41:00unreachable at the moment. But I think we're both very
- 41:04expansive, and I just think we have jobs that lend themselves
- 41:09to more possibility. It's kind of like it's up to us
- 41:13and it can happen. And so I know that things can
- 41:15happen, but that feeling, if I'm really thinking about what feels
- 41:19unreachable, it would be that. OK, yeah, I love that.
- 41:22I don't see it being unreachable, but I could
- 41:24understand what feels that way. Well, when I'm watching this
- 41:27show Homegrown and Bobby's like, Oh no, you're going to want to
- 41:32get goats and move to Georgia. And I was like, yeah, she
- 41:36mentions these different cities and I'm looking it up on Realtor
- 41:39and, you know, got a dream. You want one more?
- 41:43Yeah. OK.
- 41:44Yeah, let's do one more. Also, I was saying to Bobby that
- 41:48I love this because it helps. I know you very well.
- 41:50But there's always things we can learn about each other.
- 41:53The other thing I was thinking at some point I feel like, and
- 41:57whatever you'd feel comfortable with, but even like at the
- 41:59trainer, you and stuff we talk about when we're reading our
- 42:04intros to people and stuff like that, we always brush over and
- 42:09like never. Cause of course people aren't
- 42:10gonna probably ask. But you telling your story about
- 42:13like, you know, the month I spent it, like, or the weekend I
- 42:15spent it, like the psych ward or like, like you just say that.
- 42:19And it's like to me like that's immediately like, what the heck
- 42:22does that mean? And I think that like the story
- 42:26of, you know, things like that, I feel like I'm such an
- 42:30inspiration to people. So I feel like at one point we
- 42:32need to dive into your month at the what is it called?
- 42:38Renfrew Yeah, it was in Coconut Grove, FL.
- 42:41One of the best months of my life.
- 42:43Crazy. And I think that people think of
- 42:46like there's like a stigma of like you had to be sent away
- 42:49somewhere and it's like my parents.
- 42:52Yeah, yeah. So that's.
- 42:53Awesome. Well, and also at the time,
- 42:55Speaking of my cat Roulet, one time because it was so funny at
- 43:01this place, there were a couple of like phone booths where you'd
- 43:04close the door, you'd get on the phone and call someone.
- 43:07And one time because insurance was basically paying for most of
- 43:12my stay because it was like an expensive place, like, you know,
- 43:16going anywhere for a month I think would be.
- 43:18But I was like, Oh my God, I had like 2 weeks left.
- 43:22And my therapist reminded me so much of the shrinking people.
- 43:27But he looked just like Adam Sandler when he was really
- 43:32funny. And I've been to like 5
- 43:34therapists, I want to say, and he was the only one that I
- 43:38really liked being around. And so.
- 43:41But one of those times I was on the phone with my dad begging
- 43:43him like please sell my cabriolet so I can stay longer.
- 43:48That's one of the. Things I said, are you serious?
- 43:50Yeah. Did he do it?
- 43:52What did he do it? No, he was like trying.
- 43:56I don't even remember what he said.
- 43:57It's. Like Bethany, when you come
- 43:58home, you're gonna need a car. I think he was kind of like, all
- 44:02right, relax. Like, we're gonna figure
- 44:04something out, OK? What makes you irrationally
- 44:08defensive? Probably.
- 44:13Too much anyone coming at like saying anything negative about
- 44:22Casey, even if even if I if I were to say it, it's fine, but
- 44:31anyone think anything negative about him.
- 44:34I'm like blogs come out. Who could possibly say something
- 44:40negative about Casey? Even if it's like a jokey thing.
- 44:44Like at his expense. At his expense, yes, I want to
- 44:50like, I go cutthroat with that kind of stuff.
- 44:53Oh, you. Can just feel like your heart
- 44:54start beating in your. Throat.
- 44:55The other thing that I get, and I don't necessarily say as much,
- 44:59but internally I'm feeling very, very defensive.
- 45:02Is anyone making a comment about like like a lifestyle choice of
- 45:08oh, but like you wouldn't eat that or like something where
- 45:11it's like, so because I'm choosing not to have a drink
- 45:15that makes me like the oddball out, I'm like, well, I wanna
- 45:20judge you for drinking every single night or I wanna.
- 45:23Make a comment around you about that.
- 45:25Oh yeah, and it's like like even family members, well, that I
- 45:28like love to death. It's like they just because they
- 45:32have unhealthy habits and patterns, my healthy ones make
- 45:36me uptight and stringent. And I don't even know how
- 45:39stringent is the word. So like that makes me like, I'm
- 45:43like, OK, well, I sleep at night and you're constantly talking
- 45:46about being up at 3:00 AM, four AM and wonder why we're not
- 45:49sleeping well. And so I get I get very
- 45:52defensive with that kind of stuff and attitude.
- 45:55Like my attitude is like not today, not today.
- 46:02Anyone that ever would want to like say anything negative about
- 46:05Rhodey, I get irrationally, especially because like it would
- 46:11be if if someone were to and I'm also making things up in my
- 46:14head. I'm not even saying that these
- 46:16things are like, if anyone were to say this irrationally,
- 46:19irrationally upside or like. The game it like that, yeah.
- 46:23Yeah. Is it his birthday Sunday?
- 46:27Is that May is May 11th or May 10th on Sunday?
- 46:30Oh yeah, cuz his is it. On Mother's Day.
- 46:33Mother's Day. Cute.
- 46:37He's gonna be 11. That's a special birthday.
- 46:41Yeah. 11. Lucky 11.
- 46:44Yeah, I don't know. I'm sure I could literally tell
- 46:46you so many things that make me irrationally too.
- 46:49Now that you're going down, if someone did say.
- 46:52This. Oh yeah.
- 46:54So defensive. Things that make me also, and
- 46:57it's a lot of it I will say is internally just because I've
- 47:01with time found that like getting super defensive with
- 47:04someone that would even say something that could make you
- 47:09irrationally defensive is not worth my time typically for
- 47:12sure. That's what I have found.
- 47:14So it's like backhanded like not saying you would, but like
- 47:20they're 100% saying you would. I don't know how to explain it
- 47:23like I'm talking about like a I'm trying to explain it without
- 47:31like saying this person that says stuff all the time that I'm
- 47:34like irrationally thinking I would love to like throat punch
- 47:38you right now. I don't know people saying stuff
- 47:41where it's like it's passively trying to say stuff about you,
- 47:44but like they're sugar coating it by being like but not saying
- 47:48you would. I don't know if I'm even making
- 47:51any sense, but I'll let you interpret that in the way that
- 47:54anyone wants to interpret it. I I can see that where they're
- 47:57saying a situation, but then they're like, Oh yeah, but you
- 48:00do do this, but you but then out loud they say but you not you
- 48:04would never do that. Yeah, it's like, obviously.
- 48:06Or people that like talk about other people's like financial
- 48:12choices or how they're raising their children.
- 48:15Someone that's like, they know everything of like, I can't
- 48:19believe that they're like gonna, let's just use this example.
- 48:22This didn't actually happen. I can't believe they're gonna
- 48:24like buy their 16 year old brand new car.
- 48:26And it's like, well, just 'cause you didn't, and that's not your
- 48:29choice. Yeah.
- 48:31Like it's not, why are you even putting that mental load on
- 48:35yourself when it doesn't impact you at all?
- 48:38Like the constant people that have to have opinions about how
- 48:42everyone else is doing something makes me irrationally defensive.
- 48:48Not even for the people, but just wanting to be like, why do
- 48:50you give up? Because it's like it doesn't
- 48:53impact you at all. You just like drama.
- 48:55You just like talking about people.
- 48:58This was a great question for you.
- 49:00I clearly needed to get that out.
- 49:03Holy crap. Very enlightening, yes, because
- 49:08you got me thinking about. OK, so I have.
- 49:12One for now, I'm just gonna make you come up with all these like
- 49:15if this happens moment. Well, it's a family member.
- 49:18I'm not, I won't say who, but when they've said insinuated or
- 49:26they, it's almost like they're defending someone else because
- 49:31they have a harder time instead of where.
- 49:34Well, I'm probably gonna give this away.
- 49:37Well, it's like like Bobby and I, we pretty well like we have a
- 49:42great life. We have worked really hard and
- 49:47let's say I have family members who they've gone on a different
- 49:51path, so they maybe struggle a little bit more financially.
- 49:54I'm not being great. No one's gonna listen to this
- 49:56but that I'm thinking of. But then someone will say, like,
- 50:00it's more like they come to the defense of, oh, this isn't
- 50:04making sense at all. It's like you minimize someone.
- 50:07Who's hard to give the example without like saying my person
- 50:11said this and it like makes. Me.
- 50:13Interesting. She's not gonna listen.
- 50:15Well, no. Just no.
- 50:18You're doing great. You're explaining it well
- 50:19without giving away. OK, Yeah, yeah.
- 50:20But it's just I get very defensive when I feel like
- 50:24working hard is minimized. The IT must be nice type of
- 50:29thing. Yes, yes.
- 50:30And it's kind of like like my dad always used to, he'd be
- 50:36really excited about like, let's say a financial goal or
- 50:40something or. And I was always so excited
- 50:45because I always thought that I would never make any money.
- 50:47I thought I would go and get a, a job that you go to school to
- 50:52get and you get a certain amount of money each year.
- 50:55And that's just it. And so I, I never thought I
- 50:57would, you know, Bobby and I have ebbed and flowed with kind
- 51:00of like you talking about you and Casey, where he made more, I
- 51:03made more. It's just kind of balanced out.
- 51:06But I feel like, and it's probably maybe it's not
- 51:08defensive. It's more like but I do get
- 51:11defensive of us like well just because we or doing well doesn't
- 51:15mean no this isn't making sense because I'm not giving any
- 51:19context to the relationships. I get what you're saying.
- 51:26I know what you. Mean yours are great.
- 51:28You came up with so many good ones and I'm like what do I get?
- 51:30Defense, OK, I do get defensive about online stuff with E collar
- 51:35things when like someone comes after an owner who's talking
- 51:38about they used a new collar, but actually that's never I I
- 51:41don't know when I've seen that honestly, but the thought of it,
- 51:44I do get defensive of that, yeah, irrationally.
- 51:48That just goes to show the difference of our personalities
- 51:50too. You're a little bit more like.
- 51:53I know there's so many good ones like I'm literally trying to
- 51:59grasp at something. There are so many things I find
- 52:02egregious and. I talk to Bobby all the time.
- 52:07I should ask him what I get defensive about.
- 52:10It's like I get annoyed with people all the time.
- 52:12Yeah. I only tell him and then it's.
- 52:14Like, well, it's similar to you being like, there might be
- 52:17something that makes you immediately feel like, Oh my
- 52:19gosh, and then you're going to be like, hi, mommy, like like
- 52:23you're you're like quickly over things and like you just needed
- 52:27to have your like venting moment with Bobby where I'm a little
- 52:31bit more like there will even be moments like, and my family
- 52:35members know this about me that Casey will that Kate like,
- 52:39because I'll kind of like challenge it a little bit in
- 52:41front of people and be like, you know, if they'll say something
- 52:44like, well, what makes that like, why is that an unhealthy
- 52:48choice? Or I don't know, something that
- 52:49I'll be like digging in case you'll give me the eyes.
- 52:53I know he just wants me to like stop but I just keep keep poking
- 52:59just so. If people say if people say
- 53:01things and they're never confronted with like the other
- 53:04end of where that conversation. Goes.
- 53:06That's not me. Like, am I going to sit here and
- 53:09like hear someone say something that I highly disagree with?
- 53:13Yeah, unless it's like, I know it's not worth my time.
- 53:17But when it comes to like a, a family member or something like
- 53:20that, I love a good challenge. And honestly, I know like my dad
- 53:25appreciates that about my personality, but he'll be the
- 53:27first I'll kind of like jump on and like challenge him with
- 53:30something. It's always in like it's not
- 53:33good fun, but like it's never like we're actually getting into
- 53:35an argument or anything like that.
- 53:38But like I'll be like dad, like no, I, I will be the first to
- 53:43like and he always the thing I try to, I pick and choose what
- 53:47that is that I'm going to potentially challenge him on
- 53:49because he's also very smart. So I'm like, I can't have this
- 53:53guy outsmarting me. So if there's anything that has
- 53:56to be like facts or like current news or I'm like, I'm not saying
- 54:00anything because he's way, he definitely is much more up to
- 54:05speed on that kind of stuff. But when it comes to like, I
- 54:09don't know, lifestyle things or like just because that's the way
- 54:14it's been for 70 years, I'm like, I definitely will
- 54:18challenge my dad. Yeah, yeah.
- 54:19I thought it's healthy. Totally.
- 54:22You know what this question that and I would have done much
- 54:25better on this card if it said what do you get irrationally
- 54:28annoyed at that? I could go on all day long.
- 54:31No, it alls. No, it alls aren't the worst.
- 54:34When you state something. That they think it's fact.
- 54:38They think it's fact. Not only that, but they think
- 54:40that. They are like an expert at it
- 54:42and they assume that you don't know about it.
- 54:44It's like, why are you? Yeah, that annoys me so much.
- 54:49I think like a. That in combo with like a
- 54:52passive aggressive comment that's like meant to like
- 54:57belittle someone makes me, I cannot say names, but I'll say
- 55:05the exact thing that was said. And if this person's ever
- 55:09listening to it and they feel like teaching moment, yeah,
- 55:12then. You know that you said that.
- 55:14And then that's how this made me feel.
- 55:16But someone said to me something about a story in the Bible and
- 55:24it goes, but you wouldn't know about that when I'm like, First
- 55:29off, that's just you making assumptions of everything about
- 55:34me. And 2nd off, I went to Bible
- 55:36school 'cause I grew up Catholic every Sunday and probably don't
- 55:40remember any of the stories because, yes, I was a child that
- 55:42was like, but I'm just like, yeah, I don't like that.
- 55:46I'm just like, I'm just like, I'm like, I'm just going to add.
- 55:49That one to the mental tick. Tick, tick.
- 55:54But it's like stuff like that, that I'm like, you know nothing
- 55:58about me, but like you should know things like even if that's
- 56:04accurate, who freaking says that out loud?
- 56:07Out loud that. Was an 0.
- 56:09I've actually said to someone about something that like should
- 56:13not be said out loud. It wasn't about me.
- 56:15It was about someone else. I go, I think that's an inside
- 56:17thought. And she kind of looked at me
- 56:20like, holy crap, I can't believe that to me.
- 56:23Like I have to keep that one inside.
- 56:25That's an inside thought. I'm like, at least they can be
- 56:28jokey about it when really I want to be like, why would you
- 56:30say that? Yes, but I was just like, I
- 56:32think that's an inside. Thought we'll keep it as.
- 56:34That OK, I have another annoying thing people that.
- 56:37Don't respect boundaries. I mean you say 1.
- 56:41Thing it's. Almost always with family, but
- 56:45with these names apparently going down like.
- 56:47The family rabbit hole. We love our families also.
- 56:49We love our families. Yeah.
- 56:51Oh, you. Say no to something one time and
- 56:53then it comes back and it's asked again and it's like it's
- 56:57almost as if they're happy. Boundary they will change, yes.
- 57:01Like it didn't exist and to. Me.
- 57:02It's like a very disrespectful thing.
- 57:04Yes, yeah, totally another. One that this is nothing to do
- 57:10about like personalities. There will be little parts of
- 57:13like me that will probably miss going to the gym once ours is
- 57:17done a little bit just because people watching is so fun.
- 57:19So maybe I'll just go from time to time when I need a little bit
- 57:21of people watching, but this is more like a pet peever and ick
- 57:25or just like I think it's hilarious, but also I'm like,
- 57:28who do you think you are? Is like people will get done,
- 57:31especially on like the cables and they're doing the tricep
- 57:35push downs with the rope. You know, we all feel a good
- 57:37pump with those. Like I feel strong when I'm
- 57:39doing those, but then they're like going up to the mirror and
- 57:41being like and like. Showing off their muscles.
- 57:45Or like acting like they're doing like a bodybuilding, like
- 57:49a show position. I am like, we're at a Planet
- 57:52Fitness. Let's let's, let's not like
- 57:57leave this for our bedrooms. Oh yeah, I see it.
- 58:00All the time. In public in.
- 58:03Public. So once, once Casey.
- 58:08Then when I walked up to him, he went like, I'm like, don't ever
- 58:10do that again. I'm like, I'm gonna forget you
- 58:12just did that. But then we'll never do that
- 58:15again. He's like, yeah, he's.
- 58:16Like we'll never do that again when I'm in a gym, when I've
- 58:18been in a gym and. Like the mirrors, I try, I
- 58:22actually try in my head and tell myself don't look at yourself
- 58:25too long in the mirror because I don't want to be a person.
- 58:28Yeah, I don't want to be a person that's like, oh, it's
- 58:31like, you know, look at that. You know, I don't know.
- 58:35So I'll look at. I know what you mean.
- 58:37Yeah. I'll just look real quick and
- 58:39then look away. This is a really weird memory,
- 58:43but in high school. Because it was out, some of our
- 58:47hallways were outside. And I remember I would walk past
- 58:51like a door and it would almost be like a reflection of you in
- 58:54every single door. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 58:56And I realized. Oh my God, you're looking.
- 58:58At yourself in every single door you pass by.
- 59:00Like you need to relax a little bit.
- 59:02I remember I was walking with my friend Anna and we were walking
- 59:05up by a door and I was like, I had to tell myself don't look at
- 59:09the, don't look at the door weird.
- 59:12So I thought, no, I definitely have done.
- 59:15That as well. I don't think that's a I'm full
- 59:18of myself thing. I think it was probably more of
- 59:20an insecurity thing. Oh, for sure.
- 59:22Yeah. Yeah, especially.
- 59:23Because I totally when I was younger for sure.
- 59:25Like every I think that's also a woman thing.
- 59:30Like I would like look and make sure I'm like sucking it in,
- 59:33making sure like I, you know, don't have a weird hair out of
- 59:36place. But now, which I also love, I
- 59:40feel like you're like this where like those sunglasses I had you
- 59:43put on you go. I look amazing.
- 59:46I love that you said that. And like now when I'm at the gym
- 59:50and stuff, I used to just like, and I still can fall into this
- 59:53sometimes, but I would just like tear myself apart.
- 59:55But like now if I'm doing something, especially if it's
- 59:57anything's shoulders, I'm like, I look ripped and I'm like,
- 59:59yeah, I look so strong where I like never used to like mirrors
- 1:00:03used to be like a. I wasn't sometimes in the
- 1:00:08mornings and it's especially like I just had three shadow
- 1:00:11students. So it was just like A and 2GO
- 1:00:13homes and a drop off and just it's been a busy and the crew
- 1:00:16that I have right now. I like them all, but it's a very
- 1:00:19misfit. There's a reason two of them are
- 1:00:21very behavioral like the my three-week program.
- 1:00:25So it's a very unconventional dynamic in my kind of room right
- 1:00:29now. I would say.
- 1:00:31So like this morning I woke up and I just like looked in the
- 1:00:34mirror and I was like, because I just felt so inflamed and like,
- 1:00:38oh wow, there's my love doves. They just.
- 1:00:43Squirrel, my little Kitty birds. Kitty birds.
- 1:00:46But yeah, I totally know what you mean of like looking at a
- 1:00:48mirror every single time you pass by, especially as a young
- 1:00:52teenager. Yeah, well, just like like
- 1:00:55being. Conditioned in it like my, my
- 1:00:57best friend growing up, Julie, her sister Charmin, who was like
- 1:01:01this gorgeous. She was like, like Charmin Ultra
- 1:01:04toilet paper. Yeah.
- 1:01:05But spelled with an SI think. Anyway, anyway, yeah, yes, Casey
- 1:01:10just walked in here and now he's.
- 1:01:11Geeking out because I said that, but she one.
- 1:01:15Time it was in their kitchen. Oh my God.
- 1:01:17I feel like I don't remember a lot of things, which makes me a
- 1:01:20little nervous about. I don't know what happens when
- 1:01:22you get older, but like Bobby will ask me about a memory and
- 1:01:25I'm like, I don't remember. I remember being in Julia
- 1:01:28Kroll's kitchen. Her sister Sharman told us she
- 1:01:33was in high school. We were like in first grade.
- 1:01:35And she was like, you should always suck your stomach in.
- 1:01:38You should always suck it in because it trains it to be flat.
- 1:01:41And I was like, Oh my God. So I'm pretty sure for the next
- 1:01:447 years I was sucking in my stomach.
- 1:01:47Oh, I still think about it everyday.
- 1:01:51It's that is our generation AI will say also, what has made me
- 1:01:56like naturally just do that is also more of like the lifting
- 1:01:59I've been doing the last, you know, now seven years is it's
- 1:02:03just like core control, core control.
- 1:02:06But Oh yeah, us young girls, like it's constantly sucking in.
- 1:02:11Oh my God, it's exhausting. It's exhausting.
- 1:02:16My God. Yeah, keep your stomach sucked
- 1:02:18in and don't have wrinkles. Oh, OK.
- 1:02:19OK, I know it's so easy. I went.
- 1:02:23So I'm I've been getting laser hair removal, got the bikini is
- 1:02:27Bobby, Bobby is Casey, whatever, who cares?
- 1:02:30It's we're also turning on a public.
- 1:02:32Podcast, OK. Are you?
- 1:02:35Worried about Casey hearing it. Meanwhile, like I've said, I'm
- 1:02:41sure there's a couple of them that listen to this.
- 1:02:43It's probably only like 2%, but I've said way weirder things.
- 1:02:46But yeah, we were. Talking about Constipation, last
- 1:02:48one. So we're fine.
- 1:02:49Well, I'm not gonna say anything.
- 1:02:52Anyway, I don't even know why I said that, but so anyway, so I
- 1:02:55go I'm there and the thing about this girl, because I really
- 1:03:01don't know, I'm not going to shop around for laser hair
- 1:03:04removal people. It's just not going to happen.
- 1:03:05Like I don't know. So I like this girl.
- 1:03:08She's Greek and she's, I love how she talks and she's a
- 1:03:12hustler. Like she always wants to like
- 1:03:14every time I go there, she's like, are you coming back for a
- 1:03:16facial? And I'm like, Oh my God, I'd
- 1:03:18rather spend that money on other stuff.
- 1:03:20Like when I've gotten a facial, I feel like every single time I
- 1:03:24could do this myself. And then one time she used this
- 1:03:28thing on my head to massage it. And I'm really good usually
- 1:03:32about saying like, no, no, no, I don't do that, please.
- 1:03:35But for some reason I was worried I was going to hurt her
- 1:03:38feelings. She's taking this thing and like
- 1:03:41going on my head and like I have a very sensitive head.
- 1:03:44Like if anyone pulls, I can't have anyone pulling my hair.
- 1:03:49If you brush my hair and it snags, I feel like I'm being
- 1:03:52tortured. So but she's taking this massage
- 1:03:56thing and I would love that. It was snagging all my hair all
- 1:03:59around. So the visual is killing.
- 1:04:04Me so it's supposed to be relaxing and I'm.
- 1:04:07Literally sitting here thinking just kill me like this is the
- 1:04:10worst thing ever. So then.
- 1:04:13I'm like, I'm never doing this. Again, I could just tell her
- 1:04:16that and it'd probably be a little bit more nice.
- 1:04:18You're like, I'm in there to get laser hair removal.
- 1:04:20And I'll I'd rather that pain than my scalp being massaged.
- 1:04:231000% like tattoo my. Forehead, so I she tried to get
- 1:04:29she was like, but how she does it, I don't like and this makes
- 1:04:31me think just with like customer and business owner and I, I
- 1:04:36don't, I don't she doesn't realize this at all.
- 1:04:38But anytime I go in she never is like, oh, you have nice skin
- 1:04:42like, 'cause I feel like my skin's been looking kind of
- 1:04:45nice. She always points out a flaw.
- 1:04:48What? Yeah.
- 1:04:50She's like the exiting. Stage left.
- 1:04:52Immediately, 'cause I'm I'm always self-conscious of my
- 1:04:54nose. 'Cause when I was in high
- 1:04:55school, everything comes back to high school.
- 1:04:58I took my mom's microscope. No the.
- 1:05:04Magnifying mirror, Oh my God and I.
- 1:05:06Would just go to town on my nose.
- 1:05:08Same. OK, I still have like.
- 1:05:11Big pores on my nose. It's the worst thing so.
- 1:05:14Well, and she said she was like, I can see like some of your
- 1:05:18blackheads through your, your powder or she said makeup.
- 1:05:21I only have powder on. And I was like, Oh my God, but
- 1:05:24it didn't make me want to never notice the blackheads.
- 1:05:27OK, good. Because I came home and I was
- 1:05:28like, Bobby, can you see my blackheads on my nose?
- 1:05:32That's just something. No one's telling me.
- 1:05:34But I have eyes too. So I went and looked in the
- 1:05:36mirror and I was like, no, I've seen.
- 1:05:40It's not. I've seen worse.
- 1:05:41Gosh, I would not go back to this lady.
- 1:05:44But she says it in a way and I'm like, down.
- 1:05:47To like nothing and you're like, you're at my coochie.
- 1:05:49Can we just focus? About that exactly, I know I
- 1:05:52don't need to know about my. Blackheads at this point.
- 1:05:54Like why not say something positive about my skin that.
- 1:05:56Might make me want to actually book a facial.
- 1:05:59Totally. I have to tell my person that I
- 1:06:01go. To love her to death.
- 1:06:02She's almost too nice to me. She tells me every single time I
- 1:06:05go in. You just have the most beautiful
- 1:06:07skin. You just.
- 1:06:08And I'm like, you do have great skin.
- 1:06:10Like, I mean, I have a giant crater on my chin.
- 1:06:13I need your help. And she's like, I don't even see
- 1:06:15it. Like, yes you do.
- 1:06:16You're lying, Flip. I wish we could switch.
- 1:06:19Yeah, switch people. I would love that.
- 1:06:21Tell me my skin looks great all day long.
- 1:06:22I don't need to know the truth. Totally.
- 1:06:25Yeah, Don't tell me the truth. I can't do that.
- 1:06:30OK, well, this was awesome. We literally talked nothing
- 1:06:34about dogs. It's fine.
- 1:06:36I even. Wrote.
- 1:06:38I even wrote down a topic. That we could talk about with
- 1:06:40dogs. We'll save it.
- 1:06:42Who needs to talk about dogs? This is dog training podcast
- 1:06:45where we don't talk about dogs and I kind of.
- 1:06:49Forget what we talked about. This is the thing about this
- 1:06:51podcast. It's literally just like, catch
- 1:06:53each other up at all of what's going on in our lives.
- 1:06:55Which there's not like a ton, but like usually we start with
- 1:06:57like that hour and 6 minutes in, we're afraid we're going to ever
- 1:07:01run out of topics. False.
- 1:07:04Never. And also it's kind of one of
- 1:07:06those things that I'm like, A, we do not care and B, we're, we
- 1:07:12are here for the people, but we're more here for us.
- 1:07:14So what we talked about we enjoyed.
- 1:07:17Yeah. So we really don't care if y'all
- 1:07:19like it or. Not no offense, but if if you're
- 1:07:21an hour and 7 minutes and. You love us?
- 1:07:24Yeah. You have to Like who's?
- 1:07:26Listening to us. Talk and ramble for an hour and
- 1:07:297 minutes if you're not here loving us.
- 1:07:31This honestly feels like the most.
- 1:07:35When I think about cuz what we do, there's different aspects to
- 1:07:38our business. Social media projects we're
- 1:07:42working on, dogs, we're working with owners, all the things.
- 1:07:44This is the one thing in my business right now that feels
- 1:07:47the most on point. Like I don't even have to think
- 1:07:51that like a business thing. No.
- 1:07:53And it's not really. It's just us hanging out.
- 1:07:56Yeah, I love it. Yay, yay.
- 1:07:59OK. All right.
- 1:08:00Enjoy the rest of your day. I hope there's no.
- 1:08:01Mortarous mouse killings in the back.
- 1:08:04I mean, I know you kind of hope they that happened.
- 1:08:06It's more the whole. It's not literally.
- 1:08:10Enjoy your ego system. Yeah, OK.
- 1:08:15OK. All right.
- 1:08:15I'll talk to you soon. Bye.
