- 0:00Hello. Welcome to the No God Coach
- 0:02Huddle for May 23rd, 2025. Your
- 0:05two-minute play of the day for applying
- 0:07God's word in your life. So, let's
- 0:08huddle up and hear today's play from
- 0:11Luke 7, which says, "All the people,
- 0:13even the tax collectors, when they heard
- 0:15Jesus's words, acknowledged that God's
- 0:18way was right because they had been
- 0:20baptized by John. But the Pharisees and
- 0:22the experts in the law rejected God's
- 0:24purpose for themselves because they had
- 0:27not been baptized by John. You know,
- 0:30everyone wants purpose and meaning in
- 0:32their lives. We're created by God with
- 0:34this homing device within us, calling
- 0:36out to him to reveal to us why we are
- 0:40here and what we are to do. The first
- 0:43answer to that question is to know him
- 0:45and to have a right relationship with
- 0:47him as our creator, father, as our God,
- 0:50the Lord. We are to love him and obey
- 0:53him in order to glorify him on earth as
- 0:55he is in heaven. We too often answer the
- 0:58purpose question with a task instead of
- 1:01a relationship which is how we are made
- 1:04and for the purpose which we were
- 1:06created. Our vocation is to pay for our
- 1:09occupation and help others to do the
- 1:11same which is to know God and obey his
- 1:14commands through Jesus the savior and
- 1:16lord. The foolish people in Luke
- 1:18understood this and acknowledged the
- 1:20wisdom and righteousness of God. The
- 1:23wise, the smart ones, the religious
- 1:25leaders rejected their purpose, missing
- 1:27true meaning for their lives because
- 1:29they rejected God's ways for being
- 1:31reconciled to him so that they could
- 1:33relive in a right relationship with
- 1:36him. This is the common malady of most.
- 1:39They reject God's ways, seeking instead
- 1:41meaning and significance from what they
- 1:43do or what they have. In the end, they
- 1:46find life meaningless, empty,
- 1:48insignificant, and discouraging.
- 1:50Humility is necessary for entering into
- 1:53a life of joy and peace and restoration
- 1:56with God. It's an acknowledgement that
- 1:58his ways are best, right, and only for
- 2:01living as we were created. If we want
- 2:03true meaning and purpose, significance
- 2:05and peace, we must humble ourselves
- 2:08before Jesus and invite him into our
- 2:10lives as our personal Lord and Savior so
- 2:12that we can know him and love him
- 2:14always, even as we grow in our
- 2:16experience of his love and joy for us
- 2:20always.
