- 0:05Hi. I'm Jay Fallon, thank you for
- 0:07listening to the slippery slope. So over every news headline,
- 0:12this morning is China. China is making the headlines
- 0:16for in my mind, all the wrong reasons.
- 0:19But yesterday, we have this ambassador from China.
- 0:23He made a what the guardian described as a fiery speech
- 0:27laying out terms that Australia has Eddie declined, another
- 0:31headline from Reuters. It says that China withdraws
- 0:34promise, not to send troops to Taiwan, if it takes control of
- 0:39island of the way says, if it takes control when obviously
- 0:43that is. They're very that is their end
- 0:46gold anyway. A criking news here in
- 0:49Australia, says possible, reset for Australia, China trade and
- 0:54this is obviously after the talk with the with the Chinese
- 0:58ambassador from the Chinese ambassador.
- 1:00The yesterday so they putting a hopeful spin on it.
- 1:02I think it's yeah, very wishful thinking on their behalf and
- 1:06just shows where their morals, where there where their
- 1:09convictions really liar. A Newsweek says that China lays
- 1:13out its Taiwan plan in first report under Xi Jinping, this
- 1:19this reports very interesting. It goes on to say that China has
- 1:22released a major policy. Document outlining the Strategic
- 1:26patience underpinning, its objective of reunification.
- 1:29With Taiwan in it Beijing, holds open the door to peace but warns
- 1:35it could be compelled to use Force.
- 1:39Obviously, it'll be compelled because someone the use of this
- 1:43word compelled is if someone's holding a holding a gun to their
- 1:47back, forcing them to to invade Taiwan, which is not the truth.
- 1:52But why would you ever think you would get the truth out of the
- 1:56Chinese Communist party? So it goes on in this article.
- 2:00Say the tire one question and China's reunification in the new
- 2:03year, new era. The first Chinese government,
- 2:07white paper on the topic in 22 years.
- 2:10And the first under the leadership of President Xi
- 2:13Jinping was published as a, as a week of intense Chinese military
- 2:19drills. Around Taiwan appeared to ease
- 2:22on Wednesday. So the report repeats, many of
- 2:26beijing's familiar talking points including It's argument
- 2:30that taiwan's, ruling Democratic Progressive Party was
- 2:35responsible for raising tensions across the Taiwan Strait course.
- 2:39It's their fault. It's their fault because they
- 2:43have refused to accept beijing's principle of one.
- 2:47China. China's made the decision and as
- 2:53far as they're concerned, no one should be able to question their
- 2:57ruling what they've decided. The arrogance.
- 3:01Now, one other headline, I'm going to read through, before I
- 3:03go back to what the Chinese ambassador to Australia was
- 3:06saying, yesterday this headline here comes from Washington
- 3:10examiner. It says that war games, find us
- 3:15and Taiwan can fend off China at massive cost.
- 3:20So, these War Games conducted by a Washington, Think Tank found
- 3:24that the US military could successfully defend Taiwan
- 3:28against a hypothetical. Cool Chinese Invasion.
- 3:31But at the cost of massive amounts of personnel and
- 3:35materials. A reading through this article,
- 3:38I'll put the links up in in the description.
- 3:41It is very interesting how they go through these war games.
- 3:44So apparently they've held 18 of 22, planned, simulations of a
- 3:492026, Chinese invasion of Taiwan and yes, a so far they've won
- 3:56the vast majority of these, these war games, but wait and
- 3:59see. Look, I want to go back to this
- 4:01article which came from the guardian and it was regarding
- 4:03the Chinese ambassadors. What they said is a fiery
- 4:07speech. So this investors Far East Beach
- 4:09was the sound of China. Laying out terms that Australia
- 4:13has already declined, says the guardian.
- 4:16So during 90 minutes of statecraft, that was candid
- 4:20enough to be deeply chilling, China's ambassador to Australia,
- 4:24a Xiao Tian crystallized. The central question in
- 4:28Australia, China relations Actions, she's Australian
- 4:32representative who was fluent composed and periodically sud.
- 4:37Donnie in response to Preamble heavy questioning at the
- 4:41national Press Club on Wednesday, floated a dud to a
- 4:45daytime. How about more trade and less
- 4:49trash talk? Apparently, that's what they
- 4:51want. So showers pitch was simple.
- 4:54Can we just return to the days when Australia and China engaged
- 4:59in New? You and mutually agreeable
- 5:01exporting and importing while muting it, our irreconcilable
- 5:06conflicts of values. Please Australia, Overlook all
- 5:10of the human rights violations that we engage in on a daily
- 5:14basis. Overlook all of that and just go
- 5:17back to, you know, making money together.
- 5:19That's what they want us to do. The Ambassador had a preferred
- 5:23location for his regime. Sanctioned Utopia resetting, the
- 5:28relationship between Beijing and Canberra was about creating
- 5:33favorable atmosphere. So favorable atmosphere was
- 5:37apparently, the precondition for everything.
- 5:40The removal of current trade barriers, a potential
- 5:44face-to-face meeting between, Anthony Albanese E & Xi Jinping
- 5:48at the G20 in Bali and visibility over the treatment
- 5:53of. Wow, this is weird visibility
- 5:57over the treatment of any Australians.
- 5:59Arbitrarily detained in China. He said the past five decades
- 6:05had demonstrated Australia and China could be partners despite
- 6:10having differences. In political systems, such a
- 6:14generous offer could only be accompanied by rules, however,
- 6:18although they describe it as a generous offer, okay?
- 6:21So rule number one, this is what China's laying out their rule.
- 6:24Number one was China and Australia must keep their
- 6:27quarrels in House the End. Ambassador unfilled and analogy
- 6:32about a marriage to illustrate his point.
- 6:35It was one thing for a husband and wife to quarrel at home, but
- 6:40it's something else. If they fight down in the
- 6:42street, it's going to change the nature of the marriage.
- 6:45What was required was a proper modality to handle the
- 6:50differences between our two great Nations so that
- 6:53differences didn't hijack. Our cooperation Rule number two
- 6:59was Australia. Could be, could be friends with
- 7:01the u.s. if we absolutely must. Isn't that good that they can
- 7:05tell us who we can, and can't be friends with goes on anyway, but
- 7:10picking sides would be a dangerous business particularly
- 7:14on the issues fundamental to China's nationalistic hegemonic
- 7:19identity. The sharp end of this was there
- 7:22could be no sucking up to the US on Taiwan, none whatsoever.
- 7:27As tone of Wednesday via between overt belligerence and wounded
- 7:32pride and the Ambassador noted US House speaker.
- 7:36Nancy Pelosi had engaged in a public provocation, but going to
- 7:41Taipei in the process. Violating the one China
- 7:45principle these to this childish, behavior of conducting
- 7:49live fire exercises. So that was all bad enough but
- 7:53it gets worse. She's Australian representative,
- 7:56really preferred The people didn't use the word Invasion
- 8:01when speaking about China's intentions or reunification with
- 8:04Taiwan, even though it was very clear that Fusion was inevitable
- 8:09and would occur by all necessary.
- 8:12Means those inclined to pass. All necessary means were invited
- 8:20to use your imagination. So the Ambassador believed it
- 8:24was entirely legitimate for China to pay.
- 8:27Of the Seas surrounding Taiwan with ballistic missiles.
- 8:31Even if that heighten the risk of miscalculation or
- 8:35catastrophic misadventure, this is because China does not care
- 8:41about anyone. Other than China on wrapping up,
- 8:45just going to go back into this analogy.
- 8:47So he unfilled this analogy about a marriage to illustrate
- 8:51his point. Just want to say what the Bible
- 8:53says. There's one thing about that
- 8:55marriage and how China and Australia.
- 8:58You know I like a marriage and they don't want to fight outside
- 9:01of the, you know, outside of the house kind of thing that I want
- 9:04to be seen to fight outside of the house because that would
- 9:07cause embarrassment. So, it's funny when I was
- 9:11reading that, it seemed like China sees itself as the strong
- 9:15male, okay? And the strained Australia is
- 9:18the weak little housewife. And, you know, the little
- 9:23housewife, pointing a finger up the strong male, you shouldn't
- 9:27do this. This is Wrong and then the
- 9:30strong male doesn't want to be, doesn't want to be embarrassed
- 9:33outside outside of the house wants to put on a facade so
- 9:38everyone thinks everything is. Okay and the problem is that
- 9:42marriage is the like that as we as we have seen, unfortunately
- 9:47often end with domestic violence, when you have this
- 9:51dictator of a husband Who Wants To Rule with an iron fist
- 9:56usually have The wife cowering at home too, afraid to go out
- 10:01too, afraid to spend money with the inability to live freely in
- 10:06our own life and in her own marriage because she's too
- 10:09scared of her dictator husband. But this to me seems like the
- 10:14kind of marriage that China wants.
- 10:17They want the marriage where they are the big Burly, husband
- 10:21that tells the tiny little wife. You'll pull your head in and
- 10:25you'll do as you're told the next thing I Sighs.
- 10:29The Bible says in second Corinthians chapter 6, verse 14.
- 10:35It says do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers
- 10:40for what Fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness
- 10:43and what common has light with darkness and what Accord has
- 10:48Christ with Belial or what part has a Believer with an
- 10:53unbeliever. Now listen, I know this is this
- 10:56is specifically talking to Christian's, but I believe this
- 10:59principle can still be held here.
- 11:03We are countries of vastly different principles and vastly
- 11:07different morals. I believe the Chinese Communist
- 11:11party rules with an iron fist. They are ruled by a dictator,
- 11:17they rule the nation with Brute Force, we all know that.
- 11:21But what they want us to do is take the bride.
- 11:25We have to forget about our principles and our morals.
- 11:28So that we can make money accept the bribe, but that just means
- 11:32we are unequally yoked. Either we hold ourselves to
- 11:36higher standards all go and roll around in the mud with the
- 11:40Chinese Communist party just to make yourselves richer and in my
- 11:45mind that's just disgusting, that's my opinion.
- 11:51Don't be unequally yoked but the likes of Chinese Communist
- 11:55Party. Thank you for listening to the
- 11:58slippery slope.
