- 0:10Speaker 1: Welcome to Conspiracy The Show, the world's most trusted conspiracy
- 0:16Speaker 1: theory podcast, with your hosts Adam Todd Brown and Olivia Heidar.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Hey, everybody, welcome to Conspiracy the Show. I'm your host,
- 0:40Speaker 2: Adam Todd Brown joining me as co host today. Ooh,
- 0:43Speaker 2: my favorite co host of all No co host, but
- 0:46Speaker 2: Andy Sella is here. I guess Andy's my co host.
- 0:49Speaker 2: He's my co host on other podcasts. But I'm very
- 0:52Speaker 2: territorial about things.
- 0:54Speaker 3: I don't want to assume any any co host responsibilities
- 1:00Speaker 3: in this space. I feel like that would be a
- 1:03Speaker 3: mistake on my part, so I'm fine with not being
- 1:06Speaker 3: given that mantle.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a good way to get yourself on a
- 1:09Speaker 2: government list, that's for sure. Co host to this podcast, but.
- 1:13Speaker 3: Andy, plausible deniability is very important to me, right right? Yeah?
- 1:18Speaker 2: Answer the network in general. Andy is my co host
- 1:23Speaker 2: on the un Pops podcast You don't even like this band,
- 1:29Speaker 2: where we talk about bands that you probably don't like.
- 1:32Speaker 2: We got a limp Biscuit season, we got a corn season,
- 1:35Speaker 2: we got no Asis season. And here's the thing, it's
- 1:39Speaker 2: all deadly. They're all so good, such a fun podcast,
- 1:43Speaker 2: so funny, don't you agree, Andy.
- 1:45Speaker 3: I do. They were great. Yeah, they were great. I
- 1:48Speaker 3: just try not to dwell on the past too much,
- 1:50Speaker 3: you know, I want to look to the future. So
- 1:52Speaker 3: I don't really talk about the Limp Biscuit season anymore.
- 1:55Speaker 3: I just like I like to tell people that we
- 1:57Speaker 3: currently have a Fleetwood Mac season. It's about to get
- 2:01Speaker 3: real good.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Wow. You you really don't stop thinking about tomorrow? Huh.
- 2:05Speaker 3: I really just I do not stop thinking about tomorrow.
- 2:08Speaker 3: It's true. It's true. And if I did stop thinking
- 2:11Speaker 3: about tomorrow, it would break the chain. And you know,
- 2:13Speaker 3: I was told once that I would never do that.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and then that's going to start a whole landslide
- 2:17Speaker 2: of events.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Oh gosh, yeah, rumors, rumors, rumors say.
- 2:22Speaker 2: So yeah, no Tango in the Night, Andy Tusk. So yeah,
- 2:27Speaker 2: our current seasons about Fleetwood Mac. And it's a whole
- 2:30Speaker 2: lot of fun because boy, is that band's history crazy.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, they have. They have a real, uh mentally
- 2:39Speaker 3: ill history.
- 2:43Speaker 2: A lot of religion involves a lot of nervous breakdowns.
- 2:47Speaker 3: Yeah, more than once. They lost a guitar player to
- 2:51Speaker 3: psychedelics and religion, so right there.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's before the people, you know, joined the band,
- 2:59Speaker 2: but hey, we're not talking about Fleetwood Mac conspiracy theories.
- 3:02Speaker 2: I wonder if there are any though.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Oh that there have to be right, I.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Should have looked into that. We are doing another conspiracy
- 3:12Speaker 2: News roundup episode. We haven't done one of these in
- 3:15Speaker 2: a while. Sometimes I just hit the headlines and see
- 3:19Speaker 2: what's happening. If you search the word conspiracy in an
- 3:23Speaker 2: RSS reader and this is the stuff that spits back out.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I think we have some interesting stories to talk about today.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, these are wow.
- 3:37Speaker 2: For one thing, we got some updates in the seth
- 3:39Speaker 2: Rich story. Who could have foreseen that. I mean, that's
- 3:43Speaker 2: a that's a crime that's never gonna be solved.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Right, Yeah, this is I feel like I feel like
- 3:49Speaker 3: that's where it's at now. This is just always gonna
- 3:52Speaker 3: be a mystery and we're never gonna we're never really
- 3:55Speaker 3: gonna get to the bottom of it.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Yeah. For people who are unaware, deth Rich worked for
- 4:02Speaker 2: the DNC, and right around the same time, someone hacked
- 4:08Speaker 2: into the DNC's servers and sent all of John Podesta's
- 4:14Speaker 2: cheese pizza emails off to Wiki leaks in Russia. Seth
- 4:19Speaker 2: Rich also got murdered around that time, and so I
- 4:24Speaker 2: would argue not unreasonably people have had some questions about
- 4:29Speaker 2: whether the two things might be related, because the conspiracy
- 4:35Speaker 2: theory around seth Rich is that he was the one
- 4:38Speaker 2: who hacked into those servers and sent that information off
- 4:43Speaker 2: to Wiki leaks, and that the Democrats killed him, either
- 4:47Speaker 2: to silence him or out of retaliation. But I don't know,
- 4:54Speaker 2: I don't think.
- 4:56Speaker 3: I mean, I think we've figured that we've seen that
- 4:59Speaker 3: the the Democrats style is taking control of a car's
- 5:02Speaker 3: computer and crashing it. That's that's what they do when
- 5:05Speaker 3: they want to kill someone that has, you know, information
- 5:08Speaker 3: they don't want them to.
- 5:09Speaker 2: Have rest in peace. Michael Hastings, Oh.
- 5:12Speaker 3: Man, Yeah, Yeah, that's what they do. That's their style.
- 5:14Speaker 3: This like making staging a robbery thing. That's that's kind
- 5:20Speaker 3: of Republican. So I don't feel like I don't necessarily
- 5:23Speaker 3: feel like this is a DNC's work.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yeah. The thing that I would say, again rightfully has
- 5:29Speaker 2: aroused some suspicions is Julian Assange kind of implied that
- 5:35Speaker 2: the two things were related, but he never like straight
- 5:38Speaker 2: up said seth Rich gave us this information. But if
- 5:42Speaker 2: you read the Muller report, which so many elected officials
- 5:45Speaker 2: bragged about having done, which congrats like the length of
- 5:50Speaker 2: a modest Stephen King book. It does say in the
- 5:53Speaker 2: Muller Report that Julian Assange kind of hinted that seth
- 5:56Speaker 2: Rich was the source, but they also say in the
- 5:59Speaker 2: Muller Report that those claims were false.
- 6:02Speaker 3: You know, we should bury seth Rich and a pet
- 6:05Speaker 3: cemetery and see if he can come back and tell
- 6:08Speaker 3: us what happened to him. Since you bring up Stephen King,
- 6:11Speaker 3: I'm just like, that's a modest Stephen King novel, and
- 6:13Speaker 3: it just got me thinking, I think this is a
- 6:15Speaker 3: good plan.
- 6:16Speaker 2: Way to take a stand andy.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Controversial.
- 6:22Speaker 2: So, yeah, apparently it wasn't just conspiracy theorists who thought
- 6:28Speaker 2: maybe seth Rich had been murdered by the DNC. Turns
- 6:31Speaker 2: out there was also a cop who was pretty convinced.
- 6:35Speaker 3: You say conspiracy theorist and cop, like they're two separate
- 6:39Speaker 3: things here.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's true. That's a good point. And I mean,
- 6:45Speaker 2: I feel like the term conspiracy theorist is one we
- 6:49Speaker 2: use a little too loosely, Like I could be considered
- 6:52Speaker 2: a conspiracy theorist. There's plenty of fucking whoppers that I believe.
- 6:57Speaker 3: Yeah, but there's also I mean, you talk of conspiracy theorists,
- 7:01Speaker 3: like I think we've taught we've addressed this before, but
- 7:03Speaker 3: it's like, you know, you you have to then that's
- 7:06Speaker 3: an elastic term, and you have to then include like
- 7:09Speaker 3: the conspiracies that we know to be true because right like,
- 7:14Speaker 3: by definition of conspiracy is just a group of people
- 7:17Speaker 3: deciding to do something, and you know, that's just the
- 7:20Speaker 3: definition of it, and there's a lot of that, So like,
- 7:23Speaker 3: you know, I don't know, I feel like I would
- 7:26Speaker 3: be considered a conspiracy theorist even though I don't consider
- 7:29Speaker 3: myself a conspiracy theorist. It's like, how many theories do
- 7:32Speaker 3: you have to subscribe to before you get the magic
- 7:37Speaker 3: name of a theorist? Right? Like? Am I just a
- 7:40Speaker 3: conspiracy journeyman right now?
- 7:43Speaker 2: Before?
- 7:43Speaker 3: Right?
- 7:45Speaker 2: The big one for me when I'm faced with someone
- 7:48Speaker 2: who's one of those like staunch, Oh, I don't believe
- 7:51Speaker 2: conspiracy theories in general? Yeah, Well, do you believe we
- 7:56Speaker 2: invaded Iraq because they had weapons of mass destruction? Or
- 8:00Speaker 2: do you think we may be fibbed about that a
- 8:02Speaker 2: little bit because we just wanted to invade Iraq because
- 8:07Speaker 2: that's a conspiracy theory, but it's one that I think
- 8:10Speaker 2: the entire world has accepted now that there were no
- 8:14Speaker 2: weapons of mass destruction in a way.
- 8:16Speaker 3: Yeah, and even going a little bit more esoteric than that,
- 8:21Speaker 3: you get into just like the documented history of the
- 8:24Speaker 3: Central Intelligence Agency is full of stuff that like if
- 8:27Speaker 3: you just said, oh, well, the CIA did this, it
- 8:29Speaker 3: sounds kind of wild, but then you're like, no, but
- 8:32Speaker 3: it really happened. Yeah, like the CIA, I mean the
- 8:35Speaker 3: invasion of Panama. You could bring up the invasion of
- 8:37Speaker 3: Panama and this stuff around that and how like yeah,
- 8:40Speaker 3: I mean we we said Noriega had like Satanic rights
- 8:45Speaker 3: materials and child pornography in his desk or something, and
- 8:49Speaker 3: it's like, no, that was planted, and we know it
- 8:50Speaker 3: was planted by the people who invaded.
- 8:53Speaker 2: And the thing about seth Rich, I can't really fault
- 8:57Speaker 2: people for suspecting that may maybe the government would have
- 9:02Speaker 2: had him killed, because our government, like it's one of
- 9:05Speaker 2: those things that you can't think of along party lines. Yeah,
- 9:09Speaker 2: like you just have to think of it as the
- 9:11Speaker 2: American government. And I'm sorry, but I do think we
- 9:15Speaker 2: have like I mean, we know we've the government has
- 9:18Speaker 2: killed like euctivists, and yeah, things like.
- 9:21Speaker 3: The government kills people, the government kills people, the government
- 9:23Speaker 3: disappears people, like that's just what they that's like, yeah, exactly.
- 9:27Speaker 3: The biggest mistake is to is that we've drawn a
- 9:29Speaker 3: party line, we've drawn a we've made it a part
- 9:31Speaker 3: as an issue as opposed to just like no, and
- 9:34Speaker 3: even just the word the government I think is maybe
- 9:36Speaker 3: too ideological. Like the fact is people in power kill
- 9:41Speaker 3: or jail or disappear otherwise people who are in a
- 9:46Speaker 3: position to threaten their power. And that's just I mean,
- 9:48Speaker 3: that's a fact, and that's a fact that it has
- 9:50Speaker 3: been a part of human history since there's been power.
- 9:54Speaker 3: Like it's it's what happens, like, that's what a lot
- 9:57Speaker 3: of times, that's just what murder is, even between individuals,
- 10:00Speaker 3: whether or not there's any infrastructure or you know, institutions
- 10:04Speaker 3: around it. It's just like my power over you is whatever.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Yeah I'm on a rant now, but yeah, no, people
- 10:15Speaker 3: in power kill people that threaten their power. That tends
- 10:19Speaker 3: to be the thing, especially when their power is earned
- 10:23Speaker 3: through violence.
- 10:24Speaker 2: Governments kill people. It happens. So I don't fault people
- 10:27Speaker 2: for being up in arms about seth Rich. I just
- 10:30Speaker 2: don't think there's It's like, if the government did this,
- 10:34Speaker 2: it is damn near the perfect crime, because there's like
- 10:39Speaker 2: almost no witnesses, and the one witness that comes up
- 10:44Speaker 2: in this story certainly doesn't support the position that this
- 10:48Speaker 2: was a government hit. Like it almost sounds like she
- 10:51Speaker 2: did it. She's like, oh, I saw two black men
- 10:53Speaker 2: running away from the scene. It's like, okay, definitely check
- 10:56Speaker 2: your hands for gunshot residue.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Lady. Yeah, she definitely gives the old exactly what you
- 11:05Speaker 3: would expect someone who's murdered someone to say. Yeah. But
- 11:08Speaker 3: I think that this Rolling Stone story too, that I
- 11:12Speaker 3: read it, is that the whole idea around it is that,
- 11:15Speaker 3: like it doesn't really matter necessarily what the truth of
- 11:18Speaker 3: the murder is in this case, right, what matters is that,
- 11:22Speaker 3: I mean, it's the man who shot Liberty balance type thing. Though,
- 11:24Speaker 3: you know, when the legend becomes fact print the legend
- 11:27Speaker 3: like it's And so this conspiracy, all of these conspiracy
- 11:31Speaker 3: theories surrounding it, which I don't know how many there are,
- 11:34Speaker 3: they all seem to be kind of on the same
- 11:37Speaker 3: page more or less.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Yeah, it seems to be just like one or two
- 11:42Speaker 2: general underlying conspiracies. But the thing about it that I
- 11:47Speaker 2: don't think even really comes up in detail in this
- 11:50Speaker 2: Rolling Stone article. But also this Rolling Stone article is
- 11:54Speaker 2: an excerpt from a book.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Yeah, I was gonna say, it doesn't there's not any
- 11:59Speaker 3: closure in it. There's not there's not a climax and
- 12:03Speaker 3: a danieu ma. It's just like it's kind of like,
- 12:06Speaker 3: oh and it's over. You want to hear more.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Read the book, right, And the book, by the way,
- 12:10Speaker 2: is called A Death on W Street. It looks like
- 12:13Speaker 2: it's going to be a pretty good book it's about.
- 12:16Speaker 2: But the thing that they don't mention about one of
- 12:20Speaker 2: the key figures here a guy named Matt Couch who
- 12:23Speaker 2: ran a website called America First Media Group, which cool
- 12:27Speaker 2: love that name.
- 12:28Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, Nazi period.
- 12:32Speaker 2: He has since retracted most of his statements about seth
- 12:38Speaker 2: Rich and the mother.
- 12:39Speaker 3: They got to him, man, they got to him exactly.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Yeah, what he claims, because there have been two main
- 12:47Speaker 2: people pushing these theories about seth Rich and Matt Couch
- 12:52Speaker 2: said he was getting all his information from this other
- 12:55Speaker 2: guy and that other guy.
- 12:57Speaker 3: What Davy Sofa Terrence Lovesey.
- 13:02Speaker 2: The other guy has also since rescinded his claims because
- 13:09Speaker 2: the family took him to court and they were like,
- 13:12Speaker 2: prove any of this at all.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, it was the Rich family, the Matthew Ottoman.
- 13:19Speaker 2: But what's interesting about it is this particular section of
- 13:25Speaker 2: this book that's published in Rolling Stone. It talks about
- 13:29Speaker 2: one a prosecutor in Washington, DC who was intent on
- 13:36Speaker 2: solving this crime. Her name was Deborah Signs, and she
- 13:42Speaker 2: had it in her silly naive head that she was
- 13:45Speaker 2: going to solve the Seth Rich murder and she had
- 13:49Speaker 2: been pursuing it for about a year, and then all
- 13:52Speaker 2: of a sudden, out of the blue, this blogger Matt
- 13:55Speaker 2: Couch publishes the name of the one witness in this case.
- 14:01Speaker 2: And Deborah Signs knew that that woman had talked to
- 14:06Speaker 2: her neighbor about what she saw, but hadn't talked to
- 14:09Speaker 2: anyone else aside from law enforcement. So she kind of
- 14:14Speaker 2: assumed that that meant there had to be a leak
- 14:18Speaker 2: within the police department. Yeah, that checks out, and so
- 14:22Speaker 2: they do some internet slew thing. Meanwhile, this Matt Couch
- 14:27Speaker 2: guy is posting all of this information about this witness.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I do love the part where he claims that this
- 14:34Speaker 2: witness used to be CIA and Rolling Stone. Their response
- 14:39Speaker 2: to that is that there is no publicly available evidence
- 14:42Speaker 2: to support that assertion. It's like what would where would
- 14:46Speaker 2: it be? Where's the database of CIA operatives?
- 14:49Speaker 3: Well, it's kind of like that, like, well, we can't
- 14:53Speaker 3: prove it, so it's not true, and it's like, okay,
- 14:55Speaker 3: but this is an organization with a history of My
- 14:58Speaker 3: favorite part about it is that not only were they
- 15:01Speaker 3: like maybe she's CIA, it's also now she's a vet tech,
- 15:05Speaker 3: but that's also a CIA front basically like in tying
- 15:09Speaker 3: her to some other murder as a vet tech.
- 15:12Speaker 2: Like, that's one of the things. I assume a lot
- 15:15Speaker 2: of what this guy wrote has been taken down because
- 15:19Speaker 2: it Yeah, I know, if I googled hard enough and
- 15:22Speaker 2: like set time aside to try and find it, I
- 15:25Speaker 2: could probably find it.
- 15:27Speaker 3: But you're not doing that for seth Rich come on, Yeah, yeah, at.
- 15:31Speaker 2: This point, when you google it, you just get references
- 15:34Speaker 2: to this, like to this you know, incident involving this cop.
- 15:38Speaker 3: I want to read the book though, because I want
- 15:40Speaker 3: to know. I need to know if there's any more
- 15:41Speaker 3: information about this vet tech CIA connection.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Yeah, they said in the article that Matt Couch implied
- 15:51Speaker 2: that her job as a VET tech played a role
- 15:54Speaker 2: in the death of a local process server.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Yeah, what that sounds like a good movie.
- 16:00Speaker 2: And it's like, you gotta, you gotta link that up.
- 16:03Speaker 2: You got I need to be able to collect something
- 16:05Speaker 2: to read more about that exactly, And there was none.
- 16:09Speaker 2: There's none of that.
- 16:10Speaker 3: I have adhd motherfucker put a link up.
- 16:13Speaker 2: And so she starts poking around and they finally track
- 16:17Speaker 2: down the cop in question who is feeding this information
- 16:20Speaker 2: to Matt Couch.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Well, they they track him down because on a podcast appearance,
- 16:26Speaker 3: the co host, Matt Couch's co host fucks up and
- 16:29Speaker 3: calls him by his name, Yeah, calls him Doug, and
- 16:35Speaker 3: they talk I mean Blue sorry, Blue Blue. And they
- 16:38Speaker 3: didn't edit it out, Like do you not edit your podcast,
- 16:41Speaker 3: Matt Couch?
- 16:42Speaker 2: Most people don't. That's the whole.
- 16:44Speaker 3: Things that is true. That is the don't. That's the
- 16:47Speaker 3: that's one of the dividing lines.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Yeah, they called him Doug on the podcast. His pseudonym
- 16:53Speaker 2: on the podcast was Blue. So this guy like he
- 16:57Speaker 2: was so convinced seth Rich had been murdered, he starts
- 17:00Speaker 2: like posting anonymously on Twitter about it and going on
- 17:05Speaker 2: this podcast under the name Blue and Yeah, at one
- 17:08Speaker 2: point they accidentally call him Doug and they let it
- 17:11Speaker 2: slip that he'd been named.
- 17:13Speaker 3: Officers of the Year.
- 17:16Speaker 2: Yeah, and so then you just have to like, like,
- 17:18Speaker 2: that's not the same as saying a person used to
- 17:21Speaker 2: be CIA, Like.
- 17:24Speaker 3: That is verifiable. They're just public information.
- 17:28Speaker 2: You can look up what Doug's in the DC area
- 17:31Speaker 2: one Officer of the Year, and they tracked it down
- 17:34Speaker 2: to a guy named Douglas Berlin, who I want to
- 17:38Speaker 2: I want a movie just about this guy. What a
- 17:40Speaker 2: weird story.
- 17:41Speaker 3: Yeah, what a great name too. Honestly it is.
- 17:45Speaker 2: It's a fantastic name. He they say in the article,
- 17:49Speaker 2: was approaching his fifties.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, he's like from that show The Rookie basically. Yeah,
- 17:55Speaker 3: like he's already a TV show.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Yeah, he's his Mark Waller Bird movie where he joins
- 18:01Speaker 2: the Eagles after working at a bar. Yeah, Like yeah,
- 18:05Speaker 2: he I didn't even know you could become a cop.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Yeah, I didn't earth at that late in life, but
- 18:11Speaker 3: he was. Yeah, he was a successful Gold's Gym franchise owner.
- 18:16Speaker 3: Correct and and like I guess owned multiple Golds gyms.
- 18:20Speaker 3: So he's already like loaded, and then he decides, well
- 18:23Speaker 3: I want him be a cop, So he goes to
- 18:24Speaker 3: the academy in his fifties.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Yeah, this is his version of buying a plane and
- 18:29Speaker 2: learning how to fly. He's like, well, I'm rich from
- 18:32Speaker 2: all those golds gyms. What am I going to do
- 18:35Speaker 2: in my golden years? Oh? I know, I'll appressed minorities.
- 18:38Speaker 3: Yeah, but he's like he's like, he wins all these
- 18:42Speaker 3: like fitness awards, and he gets Officer of the Year
- 18:45Speaker 3: because he's saved a dog from a fire or something,
- 18:48Speaker 3: which is that's not like I mean, I expected that
- 18:52Speaker 3: story to end with him shooting the dog, because that's
- 18:53Speaker 3: what costs too. Of course, when you want a dog,
- 18:57Speaker 3: said from a fire, I would call an Amazon delivery
- 18:59Speaker 3: drive is what you do, or an Uber driver. But
- 19:03Speaker 3: where the folks always saving ducks from fires? Apparently?
- 19:06Speaker 2: Is that what got him Cop of the Year? If so,
- 19:08Speaker 2: I get it, Like, that's probably the best thing a
- 19:12Speaker 2: DC cop did all year.
- 19:13Speaker 3: It's literally probably the only good thing this man has
- 19:16Speaker 3: ever done in his life.
- 19:18Speaker 2: He ran unopposed for that award.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Yeah, like, oh, he saved a dog. Shit, Well, everyone
- 19:25Speaker 3: else in our department killed six dogs this year, so
- 19:28Speaker 3: and so.
- 19:29Speaker 2: Yeah, it's he always wanted to be a cop, but
- 19:31Speaker 2: it just seems like he wanted to be rich first,
- 19:33Speaker 2: like it was his like that was his side passion project.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Yeah. But like also that there's this myth that cops
- 19:41Speaker 3: are working class and they're definitely not. Like you can
- 19:44Speaker 3: be rich just being a cop, well not rich, but
- 19:47Speaker 3: you know suburbs rich cop. Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, this guy, Douglas Berlin, he was never
- 19:53Speaker 2: assigned to the Seth Rich case. He just accessed the
- 19:57Speaker 2: case file. And I know what you're thinking, Well, that's
- 20:00Speaker 2: very risky for him to do. Don't worry. He did
- 20:03Speaker 2: it in a colleague's patrol car while the colleague wasn't there.
- 20:06Speaker 2: So total fucking bro this guy.
- 20:09Speaker 3: Here's the thing. If you're gonna do that, you gotta
- 20:12Speaker 3: have somebody with you, because you need to be able
- 20:13Speaker 3: to turn to someone and say I've hacked into the mainframe,
- 20:16Speaker 3: Like that's the rules. You have to be able to
- 20:19Speaker 3: say that to somebody.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Yeah, we need to download schematics, give me a USB drive.
- 20:25Speaker 3: He just can I borrow your car for a minute.
- 20:28Speaker 3: I need to do some searching on our cop only internet.
- 20:31Speaker 2: He's the guy who if you're at work and you
- 20:34Speaker 2: leave your computer on, he's the colleague that's gonna hop
- 20:37Speaker 2: on your computer and like send an email to the
- 20:40Speaker 2: entire company to embarrass you instead of doing the right
- 20:43Speaker 2: thing and just control all delete and lock in your
- 20:46Speaker 2: computer for you. He's that guy. So he accessed the
- 20:50Speaker 2: seth Rich case file and then send it to this
- 20:53Speaker 2: fucking blogger and the guy outed. And I don't get
- 20:57Speaker 2: what the point was because that witness, again, in no way,
- 21:01Speaker 2: shape or form, corroborates the idea that the DNC did this.
- 21:06Speaker 2: I mean, I'm I'm we're the two dudes she saw
- 21:09Speaker 2: running from the scene wearing like Hillary twenty sixteen sweatshirts
- 21:14Speaker 2: or something where they like did they have like the
- 21:18Speaker 2: like the the credentials like they.
- 21:20Speaker 3: Were they were literally Barack Obama and Eric Holder.
- 21:24Speaker 2: I don't get what this witness does for the idea
- 21:28Speaker 2: that seth Rich was murdered by the DNC.
- 21:31Speaker 3: No, it doesn't do anything. I think the thing is too, though,
- 21:34Speaker 3: is that it's like, you know, you get to a point,
- 21:37Speaker 3: and this is where I will distance myself from the
- 21:40Speaker 3: idea of conspiracy theorists writ large, is that you get
- 21:43Speaker 3: to a point sometimes where you're one of those people
- 21:45Speaker 3: where it's like you see patterns and everything. You know,
- 21:48Speaker 3: what is it paradolia or apaphini or whatever they call it. Yeah,
- 21:52Speaker 3: where you're so unhinged and you're so consumed by an
- 21:55Speaker 3: idea that it's like anything that seems like it trying
- 22:00Speaker 3: to disrupt dots being connected automatically, you take as proof that, oh, well,
- 22:07Speaker 3: these are how the dots connect, right, because this thing
- 22:10Speaker 3: is trying to stop someone in power is trying to
- 22:12Speaker 3: stop the dots from being connected. And it's like, I
- 22:15Speaker 3: mean the tweets that he was tweeting about, like oh
- 22:18Speaker 3: the I mean he brings Donna Brazil into it somehow,
- 22:23Speaker 3: which okay, I guess.
- 22:25Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a lot of players involved.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Yeah, the chief of police, the mayor. He's just like
- 22:32Speaker 3: it's it's he's adding everybody you know, and it's like, yeah,
- 22:37Speaker 3: there's no connection between like the quote unquote suppression of
- 22:43Speaker 3: evidence in the form of not interviewing a witness or not.
- 22:46Speaker 3: Here's the thing he doesn't even say it's about not
- 22:48Speaker 3: interviewing the witness, because they do interview the witness. What
- 22:50Speaker 3: he says is the fact that nobody was told that
- 22:53Speaker 3: there was this witness is proof that there's a conspiracy. No,
- 22:59Speaker 3: it's not at all. Oh, like he's a cop, don't
- 23:01Speaker 3: you know, like you're friends with detectives. Don't you know
- 23:04Speaker 3: that you keep information from the public all the time
- 23:10Speaker 3: in murder investigations.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Yeah, Like like, if it's your only witness, why would
- 23:16Speaker 2: you with the killers still at large, why would you
- 23:20Speaker 2: want to be like? Oh, by the way, this woman
- 23:22Speaker 2: right here, here's her name and address and phone number
- 23:26Speaker 2: if anyone needs it. She did see the two men
- 23:29Speaker 2: who did this, and she can identify them, Like, yeah,
- 23:32Speaker 2: those men are going to find her and kill her.
- 23:35Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, And the thing is is that Matt Couch's
- 23:37Speaker 3: whole reason for doxing her is so transparent that he
- 23:41Speaker 3: was just like, Oh, she's not returning my phone calls,
- 23:43Speaker 3: she's not going to give me my exclusive for my podcast.
- 23:46Speaker 3: So I'm an a doctor, right, And it's like that's
- 23:49Speaker 3: very clear that, like you're just mad because nobody's this
- 23:53Speaker 3: person isn't taking your podcast seriously or something.
- 23:56Speaker 2: And against them, which I can relate to.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I have had people killed for not listening to Goal School.
- 24:01Speaker 3: It is true.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Oh, I mean, I mean I've had people killed. I mean,
- 24:06Speaker 2: you have to do it. Like, I don't think we
- 24:08Speaker 2: have had people killed money, but I have killed people
- 24:12Speaker 2: for not doing that.
- 24:13Speaker 3: I meant podcast, No, you're I get it. You're a DIY,
- 24:16Speaker 3: you're a small network.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 24:18Speaker 3: Queen Elizabeth, for example, you get outsource thing, you.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Shot me down and I was like, all right, watch in.
- 24:26Speaker 3: It, mate.
- 24:31Speaker 2: So yeah, against all odds, the Washington Metro PD actually
- 24:36Speaker 2: did something about this. Deborah Signs reported this guy, and
- 24:41Speaker 2: at first they were gonna do you know that that
- 24:45Speaker 2: cop thing, and just suspend the guy for thirty days,
- 24:49Speaker 2: which Bat'll show him and then he just gets to
- 24:52Speaker 2: come back to work and carry on. But he is
- 24:56Speaker 2: so adamant that Seth Rich was murdered he refuse to
- 25:01Speaker 2: serve that thirty day suspension and just resigned instead. And
- 25:05Speaker 2: here's the thing, good Riddan's fuck face. That's fine.
- 25:09Speaker 3: Yeah, oh no, I'm so sad that there's one less
- 25:12Speaker 3: Trump supporter on a police force.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yeah. This fucking rich magafuck who decided to become a
- 25:20Speaker 2: cop just to fulfill his boyhood fantasies now has to
- 25:24Speaker 2: quit because he thinks he should be able to send
- 25:27Speaker 2: information about witnesses in ongoing investigations to Matt Couch. Fuck off, dude,
- 25:35Speaker 2: fuck off, Go enjoy your goldsin parachute. So he's gonna
- 25:46Speaker 2: be fine.
- 25:47Speaker 3: Well, you know how it is, Adam. Sometimes you got
- 25:49Speaker 3: to witness his name in your pocket. You sit down
- 25:51Speaker 3: and hey, I lost it in the Matt Couch.
- 25:54Speaker 2: Or Are the police so ethical that once you become
- 25:56Speaker 2: a cop you have to divest from all your business interests.
- 26:00Speaker 3: No, absolutely not, No, I know, I know honestly that
- 26:06Speaker 3: in that case. The most surprising thing about this story
- 26:08Speaker 3: is that in Internal Affairs actually did something about it.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah. I agree.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Yeah, And that's what shocks me is that like they
- 26:15Speaker 3: were even going to suspend them at all.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Yeah, so good riddance to that bitch. But also this
- 26:22Speaker 2: development in the seth Rich case broke Deborah signs. She
- 26:27Speaker 2: had planned to you know, stick it out and solve
- 26:31Speaker 2: the seth Rich case before she retired, but once this happened,
- 26:34Speaker 2: she was like, you know what, I did solve that
- 26:36Speaker 2: last case, and that's good enough. I'm just gonna pass
- 26:40Speaker 2: this off to someone else. And God, that's that's the
- 26:43Speaker 2: feel good ending I think she deserves.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, here's the other thing too, it's hard
- 26:51Speaker 3: for me to be too invested in the story of
- 26:53Speaker 3: a prosecutor. Yeah, Like just in general, it's like, oh, cool,
- 26:58Speaker 3: your last case that you saw that was, I mean whatever.
- 27:02Speaker 3: I don't know the details of it, so I don't
- 27:04Speaker 3: want to make any judgments. But like, you know, she's
- 27:06Speaker 3: put away a lot of people that do not deserve
- 27:09Speaker 3: to be in prison, So oh yeah, good riddance to
- 27:13Speaker 3: her too. I guess it's just that in this scenario,
- 27:16Speaker 3: she was the one person trying to do the right thing, yeah,
- 27:19Speaker 3: and got overwhelmed by, you know, the system that she
- 27:22Speaker 3: also actively participates in.
- 27:25Speaker 2: So that story makes for a nice segue into one
- 27:29Speaker 2: of the least surprising pieces of information ever shared with
- 27:32Speaker 2: the public. Someone got their hands on the membership files
- 27:36Speaker 2: of the Oathkeepers and oops, turns out there's a bunch
- 27:41Speaker 2: of cops and military types among their ranks, and it's like, yeah,
- 27:44Speaker 2: that's specifically who they were crue.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Yeah, here's the thing. I saw this, and I was like,
- 27:49Speaker 3: I've known this since two thousand and eight, Why is
- 27:51Speaker 3: this news all of a sudden, Like I twelve over
- 27:55Speaker 3: what fourteen fucking years ago? I remember reading stuff about
- 27:58Speaker 3: the Oathkeepers, and it was like, yeah, their ranks are
- 28:00Speaker 3: mostly cops and current and ex military.
- 28:04Speaker 2: I guess the concern here is that they are active
- 28:08Speaker 2: law enforcement in military and also some elected officials. The
- 28:13Speaker 2: Anti Defamation League looked through this list of more than
- 28:17Speaker 2: thirty eight thousand names. They found more than three hundred
- 28:21Speaker 2: and seventy people who are believed to currently work in
- 28:24Speaker 2: law enforcement, including as police chiefs and sheriffs. Is that
- 28:28Speaker 2: higher or lower than you expected?
- 28:30Speaker 3: It's lower. We It's much lower than I thought, and
- 28:34Speaker 3: I think that it's not an accurate number. I think
- 28:36Speaker 3: the actual number is higher.
- 28:38Speaker 2: The next number more than one hundred people who are
- 28:41Speaker 2: currently members of the military. I thought that would be
- 28:44Speaker 2: way higher.
- 28:45Speaker 3: Yeah, because again in two thousand and eight, I remember
- 28:47Speaker 3: an article about them that was very explicitly like a
- 28:50Speaker 3: lot of active military people are in the Oathkeepers, and honestly,
- 28:55Speaker 3: maybe there were just more of them then.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that is the argument. Meant you get
- 29:00Speaker 2: from a lot of the people who were found to
- 29:03Speaker 2: be on this list. What they would say is, well, yeah,
- 29:07Speaker 2: I was a member back then, but they got too
- 29:10Speaker 2: radical for me, so I left. And it's like, yeah,
- 29:14Speaker 2: that's a cool argument. But also it's not like they
- 29:17Speaker 2: weren't radical then.
- 29:19Speaker 3: Yeah, they were never not about fascism like the Oathkeepers
- 29:25Speaker 3: when they were always abu. I feel like their whole
- 29:28Speaker 3: big thing was if Obama gets elected, we're going to
- 29:33Speaker 3: overthrow the government. Like that was how they started.
- 29:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I was gonna say they they were founded in
- 29:38Speaker 2: response to Obama being elected. Yeah, it doesn't look good
- 29:44Speaker 2: if your argument is, oh, we're just here to defend
- 29:47Speaker 2: the constitution. It's like from what black presidents.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Yeah right, they're like, well, he's probably gonna declare Marshal law.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Their whole thing was this like idea of like, oh,
- 29:57Speaker 3: we're just waiting for them to do it first, and
- 30:00Speaker 3: we're ready to do the thing that we're gonna do.
- 30:02Speaker 3: And you know, it's very clear. It's like the people
- 30:04Speaker 3: that are waiting for the zombie apocalypse so that they
- 30:06Speaker 3: can do the purge. Like yeah, they're just like they're
- 30:09Speaker 3: just looking for any excuse and that's what makes them dangerous.
- 30:12Speaker 3: And it's always been very thinly veiled fascism that they're about.
- 30:18Speaker 3: Like a military coup essentially is what they want to do.
- 30:22Speaker 3: And now I'm curious if here's what I think this
- 30:25Speaker 3: this three hundred and seventy number lot eos, they must
- 30:29Speaker 3: not be including like ice or I ins in that,
- 30:34Speaker 3: like because I feel.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Like, yeah, I wonder, yeah, I'm wondering.
- 30:37Speaker 3: If that's like a different number because I feel like
- 30:41Speaker 3: that there'd be a lot of those people in this
- 30:43Speaker 3: in this organization.
- 30:45Speaker 2: Yeah, but they would still fall under law enforcement, I
- 30:48Speaker 2: would think, Yeah, who knows either way. Yeah. Also another
- 30:52Speaker 2: eighty people who are running for or served in public
- 30:55Speaker 2: office as of early August are also among the ranks.
- 30:59Speaker 3: That's great, that's wonderful And I can't do you think,
- 31:03Speaker 3: what's your face from color? Lauren Bobert is an oath keeper.
- 31:08Speaker 3: She's got to be right.
- 31:09Speaker 2: You think they allow women?
- 31:10Speaker 3: Oh shit, good point.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Yeah, who knows.
- 31:13Speaker 3: I mean they want you know, she's like a cook
- 31:16Speaker 3: and clean kind of right. Yeah, she's like a trad So.
- 31:20Speaker 2: Yeah, if they don't, that's going to be my social
- 31:22Speaker 2: cause of the rest of the year, trying to get
- 31:25Speaker 2: the oath keepers to accept women. Media onslot get woke
- 31:33Speaker 2: oathkeepers And yeah, I don't know how reassuring it is
- 31:38Speaker 2: that the numbers that they found are small, Like it
- 31:42Speaker 2: only takes a few people in the right spot for
- 31:45Speaker 2: that to be a big problem. Eath keepers are a problem.
- 31:49Speaker 3: They are a problem, and they've been a problem. It's
- 31:51Speaker 3: another one of these They are another one of those
- 31:52Speaker 3: organizations that you look at and you're like, oh, there's
- 31:55Speaker 3: a direct parallel between their existence and these people in
- 31:59Speaker 3: the Spanish Civil War.
- 32:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:01Speaker 3: Yeah, Like it's everything points to Spain nineteen thirty six
- 32:04Speaker 3: right now, and the oath keepers are a big part
- 32:07Speaker 3: of that. Do you think I Doug Berlin is definitely
- 32:10Speaker 3: an oathkeeper. He's got to be.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, there's no way he's not, right. Yeah, he
- 32:14Speaker 2: probably became a cop just so he could become an oathkeeper. Yeah,
- 32:19Speaker 2: that would be my guess.
- 32:20Speaker 3: Yeah, he wanted to be an oathkeeper, but first he
- 32:23Speaker 3: had to be a cop. But first he had to
- 32:25Speaker 3: be a rich golds gym owner, right right, Yeah, that's.
- 32:29Speaker 2: All just a blay for him to get the gym
- 32:31Speaker 2: contract from the oathkeepers for.
- 32:34Speaker 3: His golds gym owner to oathkeeper pipeline.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, because there's always all those you know, ads
- 32:41Speaker 2: you hear on the right wing podcast about how you
- 32:44Speaker 2: should invest in golds gyms because of how unstable the
- 32:48Speaker 2: paper dollar is.
- 32:49Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Abolish the Fed, Jim are
- 32:57Speaker 3: they Here's my other question though, is this the reference
- 33:00Speaker 3: to twenty fourteen? What happened to twenty fourteen that caused
- 33:04Speaker 3: a divide within the oathkeeper ranks? Like, what was it
- 33:08Speaker 3: about twenty fourteen that like all of these oathkeeper people
- 33:11Speaker 3: were cool being oathkeepers until what halfway through Obama's second term,
- 33:17Speaker 3: and then they were like, nah, I'm out what I
- 33:20Speaker 3: need to like look it up. I need to figure
- 33:22Speaker 3: out what it is.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Well, we did an episode of on Pops about how
- 33:26Speaker 2: twenty fourteen was the worst year in recent history. It
- 33:31Speaker 2: is the year. It's the year Black Lives Matter started,
- 33:36Speaker 2: which is basically the point where the oathkeepers get very radical. Gotcha,
- 33:40Speaker 2: because it's also the year Blue Lives Matter starting. So
- 33:44Speaker 2: it's the year that divide started forming, and the Oathkeepers
- 33:50Speaker 2: got a lot more radical in response to like the
- 33:53Speaker 2: Ferguson protests and things of the like, not Ferguson activists
- 33:58Speaker 2: being you know, black bag by the government disappeared. Yeah,
- 34:03Speaker 2: none of that bothered. I'm just you know that people
- 34:06Speaker 2: were mad about being shot. Ah, the oathkeepers, all those knuckleheads. Andy,
- 34:11Speaker 2: are you familiar with two thousand Mules?
- 34:13Speaker 3: I wasn't, and I'm angry with you for making me
- 34:16Speaker 3: familiar with it.
- 34:17Speaker 2: This me and Olivia did an episode about the movie
- 34:23Speaker 2: version of two thousand Mules. It is a Dinesh Desuzan documentary.
- 34:28Speaker 3: See here's the thing. I wanted to wait for, the
- 34:32Speaker 3: two thousand Mules musical adaptation. Not the Broadway musical that's
- 34:39Speaker 3: adapted from the book, that's adapted from the movie, but
- 34:42Speaker 3: the film musical that's going to sorry, the live television
- 34:46Speaker 3: musical that's going to be adapted from the movie. Musical
- 34:50Speaker 3: adapted from the Broadway musical adapted from the book adapted
- 34:53Speaker 3: from the movie. Yeah, that's what I was waiting for
- 34:56Speaker 3: for two thousand Mules.
- 34:57Speaker 2: But I was just holding out for the deluxe box
- 35:00Speaker 2: that would have the movie and the book and like or.
- 35:03Speaker 3: Something Criterion two thousand Mules Limited Edition four K.
- 35:09Speaker 2: I was gonna do an unboxing video for it. Very nice.
- 35:13Speaker 2: Two thousand Mules. It's a Denesh de Suzza documentary. Let
- 35:17Speaker 2: me tell you, for one thing, I have not stopped
- 35:19Speaker 2: getting emails from that fucking guy since I had to
- 35:22Speaker 2: shell out money to watch this bullshit for Jesus, but
- 35:25Speaker 2: also it is just such obvious nonsense.
- 35:30Speaker 3: Like I'm sorry, is something that den DeSUS involved with
- 35:35Speaker 3: turn out to be nonsense, but like.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Even more so than usual, like frightening types usually kind
- 35:42Speaker 2: of rally around his stuff. In this one, people are
- 35:44Speaker 2: just like.
- 35:45Speaker 3: Dude, That's what's interesting is that I feel like people
- 35:49Speaker 3: that actually agree with him are trying to like keep
- 35:51Speaker 3: this at arm's length.
- 35:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and if you watch it, like a lot of
- 35:56Speaker 2: the claims are basically well, we access to all this
- 35:59Speaker 2: smart phone location data that shows that there are people
- 36:03Speaker 2: who drive past these ballot drop boxes every single day,
- 36:06Speaker 2: and it's like, are they maybe on their way to work?
- 36:09Speaker 2: Like what? Like what is there are so many reasons
- 36:12Speaker 2: a person could drive past the same location multiple times
- 36:17Speaker 2: a day, and they're like, don't all of these people
- 36:20Speaker 2: are stuff in ballot boxes? And then they talk about
- 36:23Speaker 2: having something like a million hours of video footage, and
- 36:28Speaker 2: they keep showing the same free videos over and over.
- 36:32Speaker 2: It's like, where's the footage?
- 36:34Speaker 3: It's great, he gave it to Matt Couch and yeah.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Even Bill Barr called the premise of this film indefensible.
- 36:42Speaker 3: That's weird when you get indefensible from that guy. That's uh,
- 36:48Speaker 3: I don't know, I feel like something. I feel like
- 36:50Speaker 3: Denesh de Suza is drinking blood or something like he's
- 36:54Speaker 3: Denish de Suzza actually is like harvesting adrenal glens or
- 36:58Speaker 3: some shit. Because I don't I can't imagine why Bill
- 37:01Speaker 3: Barr of all people would be like this is indefensible,
- 37:04Speaker 3: because it seems kind of I don't.
- 37:06Speaker 2: Know, like even Fox News isn't really reporting on this
- 37:12Speaker 2: on the movie that is, which Denis Desuza has been
- 37:16Speaker 2: very frustrated about. But people, yeah, I know what matters
- 37:22Speaker 2: for our purposes today, though, is the book two thousand Mules,
- 37:27Speaker 2: Because he has been promising that a book version was
- 37:31Speaker 2: coming and that it would provide even more evidence than
- 37:35Speaker 2: the movie, which is a pretty low bar considering there
- 37:38Speaker 2: is no evidence.
- 37:40Speaker 3: The book's always better than the movie, let's be honest.
- 37:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and usually comes out after.
- 37:46Speaker 3: It's like the Gremlins two novelization.
- 37:50Speaker 2: But then out of nowhere, the publishers of two thousand
- 37:53Speaker 2: Mules announced that the book was being recalled due to
- 37:57Speaker 2: an unspecified publishing era.
- 38:00Speaker 3: And oh yeah, I see the error is we were
- 38:02Speaker 3: gonna publish it and we've corrected that error by not
- 38:05Speaker 3: publishing it.
- 38:07Speaker 2: And it seems like you might be right because with
- 38:11Speaker 2: how much like they cut it a little too close.
- 38:14Speaker 2: This is like the Penny Royal t CD single which
- 38:18Speaker 2: was released a couple days before Kurt Cobain died, but
- 38:22Speaker 2: it also had a song on the B side called
- 38:24Speaker 2: I Hate Myself and Want to Die. So Geffen Records
- 38:28Speaker 2: was like, whoaha, send it back, send it back, send
- 38:31Speaker 2: it back. And they got most of them back, but
- 38:34Speaker 2: there were some that still circulated and you can still
- 38:37Speaker 2: buy them to this day for lots of money.
- 38:38Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 38:39Speaker 2: NPR, God love him. Spent twelve hours in La traffic
- 38:44Speaker 2: looking for a copy of two thousand Mules and fucking
- 38:48Speaker 2: found one at a Barnes and Noble in the San
- 38:52Speaker 2: Fernando Valley. And here's the thing they found.
- 38:56Speaker 3: That that's weird. I would figure it would be in
- 38:58Speaker 3: the nine oh nine.
- 38:59Speaker 2: Yeah, and here's the thing. They found no noticeable errors
- 39:04Speaker 2: or publishing mistakes, Like there was no like off center
- 39:08Speaker 2: pictures or pages. Nothing was misnumbered, like they poured through
- 39:12Speaker 2: this book to see if there was any obvious reason
- 39:16Speaker 2: it would have been withdrawn. And it seems like, what's
- 39:21Speaker 2: actually happening is the book goes into a little more detail,
- 39:26Speaker 2: naming these nonprofit groups that it claims helped swing the election,
- 39:31Speaker 2: to the point that they're probably gonna get sued if
- 39:34Speaker 2: this book actually comes.
- 39:35Speaker 3: Out, Well that would make sense, yeah, if they're trying
- 39:38Speaker 3: to avoid a libel case. But here's a conspiracy theory.
- 39:42Speaker 2: I'm listening.
- 39:44Speaker 3: What if the dneschisus a book accident. What if he accidentally,
- 39:48Speaker 3: through his research or through the research of whatever groups
- 39:51Speaker 3: he's working with, accidentally uncovered what the Republican Party plans
- 39:57Speaker 3: to do to steal the next election, and now they've
- 40:00Speaker 3: exposed the game plan accidentally. So all of these right
- 40:05Speaker 3: wing groups have received calls from you know, the MAGA
- 40:08Speaker 3: insiders to be like, oh shit, pull the plug, Like
- 40:12Speaker 3: this is literally what we're doing. This is literally what
- 40:14Speaker 3: we're gonna do in twenty twenty. For we get we
- 40:19Speaker 3: can't have this, we can't have this out there because
- 40:21Speaker 3: like we are actually going to have a bunch of
- 40:23Speaker 3: cars just driving by these ballot places, just stuffing them
- 40:26Speaker 3: over and over again. Like that's literally our plan. Like
- 40:29Speaker 3: we've reserved a bunch of ubers already, so just we
- 40:32Speaker 3: got to close this, no more book, no more booked
- 40:35Speaker 3: and ish.
- 40:35Speaker 2: I mean, that wouldn't shock me. But also the only
- 40:41Speaker 2: thing that would lead me to believe otherwise is how
- 40:44Speaker 2: hard Republicans are pushing for no ballot drop boxes, Like,
- 40:48Speaker 2: I don't know what they I think you have to
- 40:50Speaker 2: hand your ballot directly to the Secretary of State in
- 40:54Speaker 2: some of these states.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Now, oh yeah, because of all of the stealing of
- 40:58Speaker 3: democracy that's happened.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Right right, Because if you make it too easy to vote,
- 41:04Speaker 2: Republicans don't win.
- 41:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah exactly. I mean it only makes sense, Adam,
- 41:10Speaker 3: you don't want people to vote in an election. Come on,
- 41:13Speaker 3: don't be naive.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Yeah, the midterms are going to be so fun.
- 41:16Speaker 3: Ugh, I just I want to be put to sleep.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Do you think they're going to wait to storm the
- 41:21Speaker 2: capitol in twenty twenty four or just do it in
- 41:23Speaker 2: twenty twenty two.
- 41:25Speaker 3: I don't know. I think they'll wait because here's the thing.
- 41:29Speaker 3: Twenty twenty two, it's about the continuing of the dry runs.
- 41:33Speaker 3: You know, they still need to shut down some more
- 41:35Speaker 3: drag brunches and shorty times the libraries, like they you know,
- 41:40Speaker 3: they can't go they look, they got their eyes were
- 41:44Speaker 3: bigger than their tummies on January sixth, and they try
- 41:47Speaker 3: a thing before they were really ready for it. So
- 41:50Speaker 3: now they're just going to be you know, shutting down
- 41:53Speaker 3: libraries and shit for the for the foreseeable future, just
- 41:56Speaker 3: kind of like grinding it out, you know, just farming that,
- 41:59Speaker 3: farming those stats. It's getting there, getting their points up
- 42:02Speaker 3: and uh and leveling up before they tried the Big
- 42:05Speaker 3: Boss Battle of January sixth again in this article.
- 42:08Speaker 2: One of the things that has come to pass since
- 42:11Speaker 2: we did the two thousand Mules movie episode, it turns
- 42:15Speaker 2: out that a lot of the scenes showing Denesh Desuza
- 42:20Speaker 2: in his home or in his office, and there's tons
- 42:23Speaker 2: of them, Like there's one scene that's just explicitly him,
- 42:26Speaker 2: like introducing his wife, and they're all like stage sets.
- 42:31Speaker 2: They're not filmed in his actual home. And when people
- 42:35Speaker 2: ask him why, he's like, oh, because movies, man, that's
- 42:39Speaker 2: you know how movies do. That is a Denesh Desuza quote.
- 42:42Speaker 3: You know how movies do?
- 42:44Speaker 2: Yeah? Weird.
- 42:45Speaker 3: I want to get a shirt that says, you know
- 42:47Speaker 3: how movies do? In quotes with Denesh Desuza. Uh i
- 42:53Speaker 3: uh oh man, Denish de Suez a phone, there's a
- 42:55Speaker 3: band name.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Or a smartphone company.
- 42:59Speaker 3: Hey, Susan fucking Hey Jesus Christ susophone. Like if Mike
- 43:04Speaker 3: Lindell had had a Susophone, the FBI wouldn't have been
- 43:07Speaker 3: able to get into it for alert. Hey that's coming up.
- 43:13Speaker 3: Check off susophone. Uh checkov to susanphone. That's so crazy
- 43:18Speaker 3: to me that he's using sets just for a house,
- 43:21Speaker 3: like exactly, you know how movies do DNESH be fucking
- 43:25Speaker 3: giving these from the bridge of the enterprise, Like have
- 43:28Speaker 3: a have a starship set built, or a submarine set,
- 43:32Speaker 3: or like a castle set, sit on the iron throne?
- 43:35Speaker 2: Dude, do something side a ballot box?
- 43:39Speaker 3: Oh holy shit, there you go, there you go be cinematic. Look,
- 43:43Speaker 3: film is a film is a visual medium, my friend.
- 43:46Speaker 3: And you know, yeah, for the book, you want the
- 43:49Speaker 3: readers to use their imagination. They can imagine you inside
- 43:53Speaker 3: of a ballot box or sitting on a throne or something.
- 43:55Speaker 3: But like for a movie, you need to give them
- 43:58Speaker 3: the picture, so like so big. Why would you stop
- 44:01Speaker 3: with just your house? Yeah, like you're already spending the budget.
- 44:05Speaker 3: Do something wild with it. I want you writing a
- 44:08Speaker 3: dragon Dinesh.
- 44:11Speaker 2: So this next story, you can file this one under
- 44:14Speaker 2: no fucking way, Andy, I hope you're sitting down. As
- 44:18Speaker 2: it turns out, the FBI spent years, in years surveilling
- 44:24Speaker 2: Aretha Franklin.
- 44:25Speaker 3: I mean, she is the Queen of Soul, and Soul
- 44:29Speaker 3: is a hostile nation to the white patriarchy, so she
- 44:34Speaker 3: is essentially an enemy dignitary.
- 44:37Speaker 2: And you know, it sounds like Andy's joking, but what
- 44:42Speaker 2: she was was a prominent black figure during the Civil
- 44:46Speaker 2: rights era.
- 44:48Speaker 3: I don't even think you need to see prominent black figure.
- 44:50Speaker 3: I think you just need to say she was black.
- 44:52Speaker 3: And the FBI is the FBI, so.
- 44:55Speaker 2: Of course she was being surveiled or just involved in
- 44:58Speaker 2: the civil rights move Yeah, like.
- 45:01Speaker 3: Yeah, Geene Sieberg, they made Geene Sieberg kill herself.
- 45:04Speaker 2: So yeah, they made Bob Dylan. I don't know what
- 45:08Speaker 2: happened to you secret commercial. He had to take a
- 45:12Speaker 2: few years off.
- 45:13Speaker 3: He didn't get Dylan go electric.
- 45:15Speaker 2: He didn't get to play Woodstock. I don't know. I
- 45:18Speaker 2: don't know what they did to Dylan. But yeah, this,
- 45:21Speaker 2: I mean, the name it seems surprising because you know,
- 45:26Speaker 2: you're tempted to think, well, why would they care about
- 45:28Speaker 2: Aretha Franklin. But it's because, like you always hear people
- 45:32Speaker 2: talk about, yeah, I hate the government, but I know
- 45:34Speaker 2: I'm too small for the government to come spy on me. No,
- 45:38Speaker 2: you're not, you're not.
- 45:39Speaker 3: I think that's what seth Rich thought, Like.
- 45:42Speaker 2: If you're involved in any kind of activist group that's
- 45:46Speaker 2: got even any kind of following or membership, there's fucking
- 45:52Speaker 2: cops there, Like you should just operate with the understanding
- 45:56Speaker 2: that there are cops around.
- 45:59Speaker 3: More or less. If you've been to a protest, someone
- 46:02Speaker 3: has a file on you. Yeah, that's that's just how
- 46:05Speaker 3: it is.
- 46:06Speaker 2: And that's definitely how it was in the sixties and seventies.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Like there was that story. I should have included it.
- 46:13Speaker 2: But the guy from the Monkeys, Mickey Dolan's, Oh yeah, yeah,
- 46:17Speaker 2: is like filing all of these Foyer requests because he's
- 46:20Speaker 2: finding out that the FBI was surveilling the Monkeys in
- 46:24Speaker 2: the sixties and seventies, and he's like, I want to
- 46:27Speaker 2: see those files, and he should be able to see
- 46:30Speaker 2: those files. We should all be able to see them. So, yeah,
- 46:33Speaker 2: if they're following that guy over civil rights stuff, actually
- 46:37Speaker 2: with him, I think it was more anti war.
- 46:40Speaker 3: To be fair, people did say he monkeyed around, so
- 46:45Speaker 3: the FBI had to open a file. He you know,
- 46:48Speaker 3: they're not gonna believe, they're gonna take it from the
- 46:49Speaker 3: monkey's mouth that they're too busy singing right to bring
- 46:53Speaker 3: anybody down.
- 46:54Speaker 2: And he was a flight risk because of the last
- 46:56Speaker 2: trained to Clarksville, Like that's the last one. Howard's the
- 47:00Speaker 2: BI gonna get down there to catch him if he
- 47:02Speaker 2: gets on that try all know.
- 47:04Speaker 3: That daydream believers are dangerous to the state.
- 47:06Speaker 2: Exactly, So, Like it might seem surprising that they would
- 47:11Speaker 2: follow Aretha Franklin, but it's not like she she was huge,
- 47:14Speaker 2: She was deeply involved in the civil rights movement, like
- 47:19Speaker 2: she at one point offered to pay Angela Davis's bail
- 47:23Speaker 2: at one point when she was arrested for who knows what,
- 47:27Speaker 2: probably something she should not have been arrested for. And yeah,
- 47:31Speaker 2: it's just one of those stories that if you heard
- 47:33Speaker 2: it without proof, there's still no reason not to believe it. Yeah,
- 47:37Speaker 2: now we just have Now we just have proof.
- 47:40Speaker 3: That's gonna say, like, I don't know if I travel
- 47:43Speaker 3: in circles of people that would be shocked to hear
- 47:46Speaker 3: this but yeah, there.
- 47:48Speaker 2: Is a two hundred and seventy page document that was
- 47:52Speaker 2: released that goes into all kinds of details about it,
- 47:56Speaker 2: which that sounds shocking, But having poured through a bunch
- 48:00Speaker 2: of those documents, I guarantee you there are pages that
- 48:03Speaker 2: are in there. Seven and eight times. There's gonna be
- 48:06Speaker 2: stuff that's just like a photo copy of a receipt
- 48:09Speaker 2: or Yeah, you see a lot of photo copies of
- 48:13Speaker 2: newspaper articles because they didn't like if some local Joe
- 48:17Speaker 2: in Nebraska wrote something of interest about Aretha Franklin's movements,
- 48:23Speaker 2: some informant out there in the world would fucking clip
- 48:27Speaker 2: it and send it off to the FBI field office.
- 48:29Speaker 2: But it's not like that anymore.
- 48:31Speaker 3: Everyone's cool now, Oh yeah, totally. Everybody's great.
- 48:35Speaker 2: Now.
- 48:35Speaker 3: The fbis are good guys now, didn't you hear they're
- 48:39Speaker 3: on our side?
- 48:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that's like, God damn it. Trump, Like, I hate
- 48:45Speaker 2: that I have to even for a second kind of
- 48:48Speaker 2: defend the FBI. Yeah, when it comes to like the
- 48:51Speaker 2: Trump stuff and like all of these Republicans now being
- 48:55Speaker 2: like abolish the FBI, and it's like, yeah, facts, but
- 48:59Speaker 2: I don't want to replace him with what you want
- 49:01Speaker 2: to replace him with Yeah, like I think we could
- 49:04Speaker 2: just abolish the.
- 49:06Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, No, it's we absolutely need to
- 49:09Speaker 3: get rid of them, but like, we do need to
- 49:11Speaker 3: do this thing first.
- 49:12Speaker 2: We have too many intelligence agencies. We don't necessarily need
- 49:16Speaker 2: to abolish the FBI, but we need to. We really
- 49:19Speaker 2: need to cut and consolidate and uh yeah, get a
- 49:22Speaker 2: little a little more focused.
- 49:23Speaker 3: I mean Trump wants to just make them into the
- 49:26Speaker 3: actually make them female body inspectors. I think that's his
- 49:29Speaker 3: whole thing, is like he's taking a T shirt and
- 49:31Speaker 3: he wants to make it literal. Yeah, and it's probably
- 49:34Speaker 3: a gender policing thing, to be quite honest.
- 49:36Speaker 2: Either that or the Oathkeepers will be our new FBI.
- 49:39Speaker 3: Yeah, well yeah, the f Yeah. Jesus fucking Christ, speaking
- 49:44Speaker 3: of the.
- 49:44Speaker 2: FBI, Speaking of the FBI. This next story nothing surprising
- 49:49Speaker 2: about this first part. The FBI seized the phone of
- 49:53Speaker 2: Mike Lindell, the MyPillow guy.
- 49:56Speaker 3: Who was it they got in Santa Fe. They they
- 49:58Speaker 3: seized the phone. I can't remember who it was, but
- 50:00Speaker 3: there's somebody in Santa Fe. One of Trump's guys in
- 50:02Speaker 3: Santa Fe. The FBI seized his phone and it was.
- 50:05Speaker 3: It was outside of a Santa Fe restaurant, and a
- 50:07Speaker 3: bunch of people I know from Santa Fe were like
- 50:10Speaker 3: doing all this like Twitter police like investigating to figure
- 50:14Speaker 3: out what restaurant he was at.
- 50:15Speaker 2: When they got out. Yeah did they ever figure it out?
- 50:19Speaker 3: Yeah they did, they did. I can't remember which one
- 50:21Speaker 3: it was now, but it wasn't one of my favorite restaurants.
- 50:24Speaker 3: So Santa Fe's got a lot of really good restaurants.
- 50:27Speaker 2: So it's it's not surprising that they would seize his phone.
- 50:30Speaker 2: I'm surprised, Like I assume he gets a phone seized everywhere.
- 50:34Speaker 2: I'm surprised that he had a phone. I don't know
- 50:36Speaker 2: what kind of secrets you can keep on the jitterbug
- 50:38Speaker 2: this guy is probably carrying around. But it's related to
- 50:43Speaker 2: the investigation into a Colorado County clerk named Tina Peters,
- 50:47Speaker 2: who is currently facing a state indictment over efforts to
- 50:51Speaker 2: obtain data from voting machines produced by Dominion Voting Systems.
- 50:55Speaker 2: He is named in a as a co conspirator on
- 50:58Speaker 2: that indictment. So it's not nothing. There's probably something there,
- 51:03Speaker 2: but that's not the important part. Of course, that guy
- 51:06Speaker 2: is going to go to prison eventually for something.
- 51:08Speaker 3: Yeah, the fact that he's not. I'm honestly shocked. Michae
- 51:12Speaker 3: Lindell is still alive, to be perfectly honest with you, he's.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Already been in prison. And you know what Republicans say,
- 51:18Speaker 2: A tiger doesn't change its stripes like that.
- 51:21Speaker 3: Dude is a character from one of the grim Coen
- 51:24Speaker 3: Brothers movies.
- 51:25Speaker 2: He is. But there is this one delightfully wacky detail.
- 51:30Speaker 2: The FBI seized his phone in a Harty's drive through Andy.
- 51:37Speaker 2: This happened in Minnesota. Oh, let's talk about the Carl's
- 51:42Speaker 2: Junior Hardy's dynamic for people who are unaware.
- 51:46Speaker 3: Well, should we talk about how, even though they are
- 51:50Speaker 3: essentially the same company, Hardy's is better than Carls Junior.
- 51:54Speaker 2: I don't know why you would say that.
- 51:56Speaker 3: I don't either, but I will say this. Every Carl's
- 51:59Speaker 3: Junior I've ever eating it has felt like like multiplicity Hardies,
- 52:04Speaker 3: like like it's just not as good as the Hardys
- 52:07Speaker 3: I remember. And I think it's because all the Carls
- 52:09Speaker 3: Juniors I've eaten at have been like Western States or
- 52:11Speaker 3: the West Coast. Well, all the Hardies I've eaten that
- 52:14Speaker 3: have been in the Midwest, and there's just something about
- 52:16Speaker 3: fast food in the Midwest. We just get it, you know,
- 52:19Speaker 3: we just know what to do with it.
- 52:21Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I could see that maybe being a being
- 52:24Speaker 2: the case, because their menus are very similar and the
- 52:27Speaker 2: food is very similar. I'm a I'm a fan of
- 52:29Speaker 2: either one. I am of the opinion that Hardy's slash
- 52:33Speaker 2: Carls Junior makes the best breakfast biscuit chance.
- 52:38Speaker 3: I mean, that's not even a question, that's empirical truth. Yeah, Like,
- 52:42Speaker 3: the best fast food breakfast biscuit is Hardy's and there's
- 52:46Speaker 3: there's no there's no contest.
- 52:47Speaker 2: It's like crispy on the outside, but like just on
- 52:52Speaker 2: that outer shell.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Yeah, and then it's super fluffy.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Oh so good. And yeah they have they have made
- 53:00Speaker 2: a big deal of this. Hardy's has because Mike Lindell
- 53:04Speaker 2: was seized in one of their or his phone was
- 53:06Speaker 2: seized in their drive through, and they tweeted a thing
- 53:08Speaker 2: about how now that everyone knows who they are, maybe
- 53:12Speaker 2: they should come check out their pillowy biscuits, to which
- 53:16Speaker 2: someone replied, maybe you should stop donating ninety seven percent
- 53:20Speaker 2: of your campaign contributions to Republicans.
- 53:23Speaker 3: Oh well, that would be nice, Yeah, right, wouldn't it.
- 53:26Speaker 3: But then you'd have to ask all the fast food
- 53:28Speaker 3: places to stop doing that, and that's not going to happen.
- 53:31Speaker 2: No, of course not. Yeah, I mean it's nothing I'm
- 53:33Speaker 2: going to stop eating at Carl's Junior over for one thing.
- 53:36Speaker 2: It just named Hardy's. It didn't even name Carls Junior
- 53:38Speaker 2: in that graphic.
- 53:40Speaker 3: Yeah. I had a big problem with the Carls Junior
- 53:42Speaker 3: ad campaign for a long time. But yeah, Hardy's is great. Look,
- 53:46Speaker 3: I will say this, can't sleep on the Wendy's breakfast sandwiches.
- 53:50Speaker 3: Wendy's new breakfast stuff is really good.
- 53:52Speaker 2: That's yeah, it's a new entrant, Like it's the Patrick
- 53:56Speaker 2: Mahomes of the discussion.
- 53:57Speaker 3: We need to do exactly, and like him, it comes
- 53:59Speaker 3: in high like it came in and was immediately pretty dominant.
- 54:02Speaker 2: So we need to get but we need to give
- 54:04Speaker 2: it a few years to make sure. You know that
- 54:07Speaker 2: we don't injuries or anything.
- 54:09Speaker 3: We don't know that it's got staying power. We don't
- 54:11Speaker 3: know that we're in a dynasty with a legacy yet, you.
- 54:14Speaker 2: Know, but those breakfast potatoes at Wendy's second to none.
- 54:19Speaker 3: Yet hands down best breakfast potato side in the game.
- 54:23Speaker 2: Those are one of the best potato sides in fast food. Yeah.
- 54:27Speaker 3: And here's the thing, Like they're like, they're like Rby's
- 54:30Speaker 3: Curly Fries level.
- 54:31Speaker 2: And here's the thing. They're commercials very entertaining. I would
- 54:35Speaker 2: go see the cast of the current Wendy's commercials, like
- 54:38Speaker 2: I would go. I would go watch them on like
- 54:41Speaker 2: a stand up tour.
- 54:42Speaker 3: They just did a Reggie Bush commercial. Yeah, that was great.
- 54:46Speaker 3: I was like a little bit like, Wow, I'm good
- 54:49Speaker 3: on him for for agreeing to do this and make
- 54:51Speaker 3: a joke out of this thing.
- 54:52Speaker 2: Yeah, the one about him getting something that was taken
- 54:55Speaker 2: from him back cheeseburger good stuf. So Trump was not
- 55:02Speaker 2: happy about Mike Lindell's phone being seized.
- 55:05Speaker 3: Well, yeah, because it wasn't a de suzophone.
- 55:08Speaker 2: He took the truth social to truth the following statement,
- 55:12Speaker 2: that's what they call it breaking news. Mike Lindell, the
- 55:15Speaker 2: pillow guy, was just rated by the FBI. We are
- 55:19Speaker 2: now officially living in a weaponized police state, rigged elections
- 55:23Speaker 2: in all. Our country is a laughing stock all over
- 55:26Speaker 2: the world. The majesty of the United States is gone
- 55:30Speaker 2: can't let this happen. Take back America, shut up. Yeah.
- 55:34Speaker 3: Now we are now living in a weaponized police state. Yeah,
- 55:38Speaker 3: now this is the when the my pillow guy gets
- 55:42Speaker 3: held up at a fucking Hearty's drive through. We're in
- 55:45Speaker 3: a police state, not the police state that you were
- 55:48Speaker 3: proud to support for four fucking years, buddy.
- 55:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I wonder how he would feel about alex Via Nueva.
- 55:56Speaker 2: Have you heard about this? Oh my god, that shit
- 55:59Speaker 2: like that is alex Via Nueva. For people who are unaware,
- 56:02Speaker 2: One is the La County Sheriff. He is a villain
- 56:07Speaker 2: of movie proportions.
- 56:09Speaker 3: Dude, he is. He's a breaking bad villain. He's a
- 56:12Speaker 3: fucking like he's a monster.
- 56:14Speaker 2: In his most recent thing, he is having the homes
- 56:17Speaker 2: of like city council people who speak out against him
- 56:21Speaker 2: raided by the La Sheriff's Department, like just in broad
- 56:26Speaker 2: daylight on video just.
- 56:29Speaker 3: Mask off ss shit, it's like, yeah, full on gestapo.
- 56:33Speaker 3: It's insane.
- 56:34Speaker 2: Yeah, it's almost yeah, like he's chilling auditioning or when
- 56:38Speaker 2: that role inevitably becomes available in the American government.
- 56:42Speaker 3: Yeah, he's gonna put it on his resume when he
- 56:44Speaker 3: runs for fucking I don't know, Grand Wizard of the
- 56:47Speaker 3: Oath Keepers or whatever.
- 56:48Speaker 2: And then someone's gonna run against him and call him
- 56:51Speaker 2: a liberal because he's from California. Yeah, it'll be amazing
- 56:55Speaker 2: to watch.
- 56:55Speaker 3: No, That's the thing about it is like this like
- 56:57Speaker 3: full the most chilling, opian, like fucking fascist thing happening
- 57:04Speaker 3: that I've seen in the last several weeks happened in
- 57:06Speaker 3: Los Angeles, Like oh yeah, yeah, oh yeah, Blue California,
- 57:11Speaker 3: Liberal California. Everybody just fucking woke Los Angeles. It's nothing
- 57:16Speaker 3: to see here.
- 57:18Speaker 2: So cute, so cute. So Mike Lindell said that when
- 57:21Speaker 2: the FBI surrounded him, they took his phone and questioned
- 57:25Speaker 2: him for about fifteen minutes. Here's my question. Do you
- 57:27Speaker 2: think they blocked the drive through that whole time? You
- 57:29Speaker 2: know they did?
- 57:31Speaker 3: Uh? Do you think Hardy's gave out any free biscuits
- 57:33Speaker 3: sandwiches or biscuits and gravy as a result?
- 57:36Speaker 2: Like yeah, like how did the rest of the people
- 57:39Speaker 2: get their food? Did they have to go in?
- 57:41Speaker 3: Did they probably like the in and outing where they
- 57:43Speaker 3: just put somebody outside with a headset.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, maybe they held Did you think.
- 57:48Speaker 3: They questioned Mike Lindell over the drive through speaker, like,
- 57:53Speaker 3: did they interrogate him that way? That would be great.
- 57:56Speaker 2: Yeah, that's who was holding the clipboard in the headset.
- 57:59Speaker 2: When Mike Lindell pulled up. They had the FBI. The
- 58:03Speaker 2: store didn't even know that person was FBI and so
- 58:06Speaker 2: followed it down. Been working there for three weeks.
- 58:10Speaker 3: I when I went in Iowa when I was a kid,
- 58:14Speaker 3: Hardy's did this thing. And I keep asking people about this,
- 58:16Speaker 3: and no one ever knows what I'm fucking talking about
- 58:18Speaker 3: when I bring this up. But I did live in
- 58:20Speaker 3: Cedar Rapids, Iowa, which was a test market for a
- 58:23Speaker 3: lot of things. But we had Hardy's had these pizza
- 58:27Speaker 3: pocket things for a little bit that were essentially hot
- 58:30Speaker 3: hot pockets, like pizza filling hot pockets, and they were
- 58:34Speaker 3: so good and then they were gone and I never
- 58:38Speaker 3: heard of them again. And everyone I've talked to, no
- 58:41Speaker 3: one knows what I'm talking about. So I just want
- 58:43Speaker 3: someone listening to this to tell me I'm not crazy
- 58:46Speaker 3: and they know what I'm talking about. When Hardy's had
- 58:48Speaker 3: pizza pockets in like the late eighties, early nineties sometime.
- 58:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't remember that either I grew up in
- 58:55Speaker 2: a test market also Peoria, Illinois. Oh yeah, but I
- 58:59Speaker 2: don't think if if those did make it my way.
- 59:03Speaker 2: I feel like it's something me and my family would
- 59:05Speaker 2: have seen on a commercial and went, No.
- 59:09Speaker 3: That's all I wanted. For the entire time they had them,
- 59:13Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, fuck yeah, let's go.
- 59:14Speaker 2: Yeah all right. I actually very sorely miss Hardy's Fried Chicken.
- 59:19Speaker 2: Hardy's Fried Chicken.
- 59:21Speaker 3: Yes, yes, so good. It was really good. Yeah.
- 59:24Speaker 2: And I lived across the street from one, and if
- 59:27Speaker 2: you went over there right as they were closing, they
- 59:30Speaker 2: would just sell you whatever chicken they had left for
- 59:32Speaker 2: like five dollars.
- 59:33Speaker 3: Goddamn.
- 59:34Speaker 2: It was great.
- 59:35Speaker 3: You know, we need that back.
- 59:38Speaker 2: So that's our episode. Andy, thank you so much for
- 59:42Speaker 2: sitting in. I appreciate it.
- 59:44Speaker 3: Thanks for ruining my day.
- 59:46Speaker 2: Oh come on, I'm kidding.
- 59:48Speaker 3: I'm kidding. I'm gonna go to Hardy's now. I'm gonna
- 59:50Speaker 3: go drive to the Saint Paul Hardy's because that's the
- 59:52Speaker 3: closest one.
- 59:54Speaker 2: What if Mike Lindell's phone is still there?
- 59:57Speaker 3: Do you guys y'all got Mike Lindell's phone still? Can
- 1:00:01Speaker 3: I get a Mike Lindell's phone combo.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: They should start selling that.
- 1:00:05Speaker 3: And a pizza, pocket fried chicken and.
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Uh and a California Raisins glass please.
- 1:00:14Speaker 3: Oh man, they used to have those, the California Raisins
- 1:00:17Speaker 3: Happy Meals too. I still have a bunch of those
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: figures somewhere. Yeah, Man, Hardy's was so good in the eighties.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: Them and Satanism. Those are the two good things in
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: the eighties.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: That was it too, Just those two things. Well, and
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: the Cold War ruled obviously.
- 1:00:33Speaker 3: I mean, you had it's bit, had it's perks.
- 1:00:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Star Wars was great. I mean, I mean the
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: missile defense system never happened.
- 1:00:42Speaker 3: I'm not so much the movies. I'm just a fan
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: of I'm just a fan of Reagan's uh space defense policies.
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: Yeah, so, Andy, do you have anything to plug before
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: we get out of here? Besides, you don't even like
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: this band, the Fleetwood Max season, which will be out

- 1:01:01Speaker 2: can check out I think they're still at un Pop's music.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: We'll link to it in the show notes. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: you'll find it.
- 1:01:07Speaker 3: Like I'll plug that.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: What else you got to plug?
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: Gosh, Looko for the Boys is returning October first with
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: our fourth season, where we will be doing a hot
- 1:01:15Speaker 3: or not Alive look at the Halloween series and in
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: anticipation of the Halloween Ends, which that's gonna be bad,
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: but is Coal School. I've got three episodes in the
- 1:01:31Speaker 3: works at the moment that will be released at some
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: point I'm assuming between now in October sometime. And that's
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: it for me right now. As far as stuff to plug,
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: I hope you're doing well listener and having a good day.
