Hi guys, it's Megan from Vigilante Vibes and I'm here
• 0:21
with another character breakdown today and I'm continuing my
• 0:24
Marvel coverage of the mutants or my mutant coverage of Marvel
• 0:30
or my coverage of Marvel mutants.
• 0:32
It can work either way. So yeah, I am going to introduce
• 0:36
you to a character that I find to be extremely underrated and I
• 0:39
hope you get to learn a little something or if you already know
• 0:41
about this character, I'm glad to hear that.
• 0:44
Before I get started, be sure to like and subscribe so you don't
• 0:46
miss any more of my character breakdowns or anything else I
• 0:48
have. So who are we talking about
• 0:51
today? We are going to talk about
• 0:52
  Tommy. Just Tommy.
• 0:54
There was never a last name. Tommy's first appearance in
• 0:57
Marvel Comics was an Uncanny X-Men #210 in 1986 and was
• 1:02
created by Chris Claremont and John Romita Junior.
• 1:06
So back in the day, Tommy had a pretty rough time.
• 1:10
She felt like a total outsider, and she was always alone.
• 1:13
See, she had this wild mutant power where she could turn it as
• 1:17
thin as a piece of paper whenever she wanted, then pop
• 1:20
right back to normal. But her awesome power just
• 1:23
freaked everyone out and they went wanted nothing to do with
• 1:26
her. So she ended up finding a home
• 1:29
with the Morlocks, a group of outcasts living underground, and
• 1:33
their leader, Callisto. Tommy and some of her new
• 1:37
  friends decided they wanted more.
• 1:40
So they left their underground home, the Alley, to check out
• 1:43
the world up top. But things went bad very fast.
• 1:47
The Marauders, this group of ruthless killers, started
• 1:50
hunting them down, and it turned into what people now call the
• 1:53
Mutant Massacre. The Marauders killed a bunch of
• 1:58
her Morlock friends, but she was lucky enough to be saved by a
• 2:00
guy named Richard Solmons, a mercenary from the Hellfire
• 2:05
Club. He took her to Los Angeles, but
• 2:09
the Marauders followed them there too.
• 2:11
During their escape on the train yard, Richard jumped in to
• 2:14
protect her. He took her to a Los Angeles,
• 2:17
but the Marauders followed them. During their escape at a train
• 2:21
yard, Richard jumped in to protect her.
• 2:23
He pleaded with her to work with him and that they'd have a
• 2:26
chance that they stuck together, but if she ran, they'd both be
• 2:30
  doomed. But Tommy was terrified.
• 2:33
Instead of helping, she ran, leaving him to get taken out by
• 2:36
one of the harpoon Spears. Using her paper thin powers, she
• 2:40
slipped into a tiny crack in a train car and headed back east.
• 2:45
When she got to Manhattan, she wanted to go back to the safety
• 2:49
of the alley, but it was too late.
• 2:51
Scalp Hunter was waiting for her, and he killed her right
• 2:54
there before she could get away. So during the Scalp Hunter's
• 2:58
rehab, Danger used a special holographic room to make him
• 3:04
relive the Morlock Massacre. In the simulation, Scalp Hunter
• 3:08
was forced to face the horrible things he'd done, but then the
• 3:11
hologram of Tommy who he had killed surprised him by telling
• 3:15
him that everything was going to be OK and that even an assassin
• 3:19
like him could be forgiven. Before danger could see how it
• 3:23
all played out, Madison Jeffries showed up and interrupted the
• 3:26
entire thing. Later, the assassin known as
• 3:30
Cape Crow was hired to kill Scout Hunter.
• 3:33
While looking at the Scout Hunter's past, he found out that
• 3:36
Tommy was one of his victims. Many years later, after Charles
• 3:40
Xavier and his allies created a mutant nation called Purkoa,
• 3:43
Tommy was brought back to life by a group of mutants called The
• 3:46
Five. This is where the Mutant Elixir
• 3:49
is. So if you want to know who
• 3:51
Elixir is just check my channel because I have a breakdown of
• 3:55
him. When the Hellions found out that
• 3:59
Scalp Hunter, one of the people who caused the mutant massacre,
• 4:02
was also living Krakoa, Tommy and her resurrected Morlock
• 4:05
friends went to confront him on the anniversary of the massacre,
• 4:09
but Scalp Hunter showed no remorse and pulled out a huge
• 4:12
  weapon. Seeing the situation getting
• 4:14
tense, Calisto told Tommy and the others to take him out,
• 4:17
reminding them that they could just be resurrected if they
• 4:20
died. So they fought him and ended up
• 4:22
dying, but they were brought back to life right away.
• 4:25
To deal with his bad behavior, Scout Punter was forced to join
• 4:28
Mr. Sinisters Hellion's team as punishment.
• 4:32
While the Hellions were captured by Arcade and Mastermind,
• 4:35
Scalpuncher was put into a simulation where he was forced
• 4:38
to relive the past memory of killing innocent people in a war
• 4:41
zone. To his horror, his victims faces
• 4:45
morphed into the faces of the Morlocks, including Tommy.
• 4:48
But the nightmare got even worse when Tommy and Sybil turned into
• 4:52
flesh eating zombies and attacked him.
• 4:55
Later, Tommy became a member of the X Force as a Recon agent.
• 4:59
When they found out that Orcas had an observation team in Paris
• 5:03
watching a gate that Doctor Myra Mctaggart was using, X Force
• 5:07
came up with a clever plan. They set up another gate on a
• 5:11
different floor to throw Orcas off, while Tommy was stationed
• 5:15
in a nearby building to keep an eye on the Orcas team.
• 5:18
When the orchest operatives realized they'd been tricked,
• 5:21
Tommy was quick to alert Sage, making sure X4 stayed one step
• 5:26
ahead. Finally, in astral form, Tommy
• 5:30
appeared with every other mutant to help Jean Grey defeat Enigma.
• 5:35
So that is Tommy. She does not have much to her
• 5:38
story. Most of her story is about other
• 5:41
people, which is like, it's just kind of weird.
• 5:46
I feel like they never took her seriously ever.
• 5:51
I mean, you became a Recon agent and this girl is the brightest
• 5:57
colored mutant of all mutants. Like she is a rainbow.
• 6:02
  So I mean they're that's that whatever, but I like Tommy, I
• 6:08
feel like not enough people know about her.
• 6:10
So like always I have some comics you can check out to get
• 6:13
to know Tommy even better. These are only the ones I've
• 6:16
read so if you have any other ones I should check out please
