- 0:05Speaker 1: Show on sevent tenor.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Well, what day is it? It's only Wednesday? All right,
- 0:14Speaker 2: here's the good news. You got only four days until
- 0:17Speaker 2: daylight saving time, only seventeen days until spring. It's practically here.
- 0:23Speaker 2: No more cold weather. Yesterday was the last cold day.
- 0:26Speaker 2: It's in the forties today, and then from now on fifties, sixties,
- 0:30Speaker 2: and they'll even hit seventy and winter is gone. We'll
- 0:34Speaker 2: give you that all the latest we do, the latest
- 0:36Speaker 2: details on the war, exactly where we stand. We'll get
- 0:39Speaker 2: to Texas, what happened last night, We got to Epstein
- 0:42Speaker 2: and those crazy hearings. We'll get to congestion pricing, We'll
- 0:47Speaker 2: get to We had lots to talk about today. So
- 0:50Speaker 2: let me just give you a war update. Now. You
- 0:52Speaker 2: got these crazy Democrats, Chuck Schumer and others. Schumer I
- 0:58Speaker 2: watched him yesterday. He said Donald Trump and his endless war.
- 1:03Speaker 2: It's four days yesterday, endless war. I don't think four
- 1:07Speaker 2: days is endless. But Schumer, you know, trying to. He's
- 1:11Speaker 2: an old, washed up Willie Lohman, old washed up, old
- 1:15Speaker 2: fossil old dinosaur, sad sort of a guy now in
- 1:20Speaker 2: the very end of his career, trying to look relevant.
- 1:22Speaker 2: You know, he got bigger glasses. He had these glasses.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Now he got the really big mister McGoo glasses. Maybe
- 1:28Speaker 2: that'll help. It's not helping, but every time people see him,
- 1:33Speaker 2: I think it really really helps Trump when you see
- 1:35Speaker 2: this old fossil try to attack things.
- 1:38Speaker 3: America wants this president to pay attention to the problems
- 1:44Speaker 3: at home, not the problems overseas, particularly when no one
- 1:48Speaker 3: has any idea of what the real rationale is.
- 1:51Speaker 4: It changes every hour.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Now, if Trump had launched some big thing at home,
- 1:57Speaker 2: Schumer would say, he's not paying attention to overseas. It's
- 2:01Speaker 2: just a ridiculous guy.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Which one is it, Donald Trump? Regime change, nuclear weapons, missiles,
- 2:10Speaker 4: an imminent threat to the homeland, or a preemptive strike
- 2:15Speaker 4: to stop future attacks on the region.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah, the answer is yes, that's what it is. It's
- 2:20Speaker 2: all of those things. I don't think he realizes what
- 2:23Speaker 2: he's doing. He's so old. He's like an old tired fighter.
- 2:26Speaker 2: You know, Boxer keeps missing every punch misses. He just
- 2:30Speaker 2: listed like nine reasons why you want to go do this.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Let me give you the latest down Iraq. Though here
- 2:34Speaker 2: this is right from the Pentagon all the latest. We
- 2:37Speaker 2: are originally talking about one week. Now they're talking about
- 2:41Speaker 2: three weeks, four weeks, maybe even five weeks. But the
- 2:43Speaker 2: reason for the extension is we're doing much better than
- 2:46Speaker 2: we hoped. We didn't think it would be this easy. Now,
- 2:48Speaker 2: remember you got the this has never happened before. You
- 2:50Speaker 2: get the two best militaries in the world, the US
- 2:54Speaker 2: and Israel, and Israel is the most highly skilled military
- 2:59Speaker 2: in you could possibly have in the Middle East. Nobody
- 3:01Speaker 2: has better intelligence, better capabilities in a Middle East war.
- 3:05Speaker 2: So the two militaries combining, working side by side, it's
- 3:08Speaker 2: an unbelievable powerful combination. So not only we've not only
- 3:13Speaker 2: taken out all their weapons capability, we're now taking out
- 3:17Speaker 2: all their manufacturing capability, so they won't be able to
- 3:19Speaker 2: bring anything back. We've taken out all the leaders We've
- 3:23Speaker 2: got all the top leadership, and now what they're going
- 3:25Speaker 2: to do is go down the tiers each level, take
- 3:28Speaker 2: out each level of leadership all the way down. We've
- 3:32Speaker 2: taken out most of their weapons, ballistic missiles. They still
- 3:34Speaker 2: have some, but most of them have been taken out.
- 3:36Speaker 2: They still have some drones, which are harder to get.
- 3:39Speaker 2: Believe it or not, they were building them at a
- 3:42Speaker 2: very very fast pace. That was the problem. They were
- 3:45Speaker 2: building ballistic missiles drones at a very fast pace. We
- 3:49Speaker 2: have now taken out the factories that build them, so
- 3:51Speaker 2: they can't keep building. We've taken away seventy five percent
- 3:55Speaker 2: of their defensive capabilities two days ago, we took out
- 3:59Speaker 2: fifty percent of the defense and oh, actually offensive capabilities.
- 4:03Speaker 2: We've taken away seventy five percent of their offensive capabilities.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Defense is gone. Seventy five percent of their offensive capabilities gone.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Now when they fire those missiles, the reason one can
- 4:14Speaker 2: get through and hit Tel Aviv is they can send
- 4:17Speaker 2: so many at the same time. Now, what they want
- 4:20Speaker 2: to do when they send a salvo of missiles, to
- 4:23Speaker 2: send fifty fifty and one salvo. It's hard for that
- 4:26Speaker 2: iron dome to stop. Fifty at once. They were down
- 4:30Speaker 2: to thirty, and even at thirty one could get through,
- 4:33Speaker 2: So thirty at once it's very hard to stop. We've
- 4:36Speaker 2: taken out so much of their offensive capability. They're now
- 4:39Speaker 2: down to only two or three. That's all they can
- 4:43Speaker 2: send in one salvo, two or three missiles, which is
- 4:45Speaker 2: pretty harmless. The drones are being taken down, they do
- 4:49Speaker 2: a little damage. Those are a little harder to take out.
- 4:51Speaker 2: But we're getting it done. And as the Pentagon points out,
- 4:55Speaker 2: we've lost six six of our military and we owe
- 4:59Speaker 2: it to them finished the job. It was a very
- 5:02Speaker 2: very very planned attack all of this. That's why it's
- 5:05Speaker 2: gone so well. That's they knew exactly what to hit.
- 5:09Speaker 2: The Israeli Air Force just struck a top Iranian meeting.
- 5:15Speaker 2: You know, at the beginning, they took out all of
- 5:17Speaker 2: Tehran's senior clerics. They did it again yesterday, hit another
- 5:21Speaker 2: group of senior clerics. In fact, the group that was
- 5:25Speaker 2: there to select a replacement for the Aetola senior officials.
- 5:30Speaker 2: They were there to do the vote and who to
- 5:32Speaker 2: replace the Ietola. Israel hit that building and took them out.
- 5:35Speaker 2: They called it the Assembly of Experts. It's a body
- 5:38Speaker 2: of eighty eight members who got together to do this voting.
- 5:42Speaker 2: The strike took them all out and wiped out the building.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Also in Iran. You know, you forget so busy with
- 5:49Speaker 2: all these other issues and the things Schumer just rattled off,
- 5:52Speaker 2: You forget the brutal oppression of women and other minorities.
- 5:57Speaker 2: In Iran, women not allowed to do anything thing. You
- 6:00Speaker 2: have to keep covered up at all times. Well, women
- 6:03Speaker 2: were seen yesterday in Iran taking off their hijabs and
- 6:07Speaker 2: dancing openly in the street. They would have been killed
- 6:10Speaker 2: for that a week ago, but now they're doing it.
- 6:13Speaker 2: It's a great thing to see. The Iatola's son, the
- 6:17Speaker 2: son of the Ayatola, was selected to how to replace him.
- 6:21Speaker 2: He's fifty six. His name is Mujtaba ka Kama nny.
- 6:27Speaker 2: He's the son of the Ayatola. They have selected him
- 6:30Speaker 2: to be the new leader. I would imagine his insurance
- 6:34Speaker 2: company immediately cancel his policy. How long would you give
- 6:38Speaker 2: this guy to live he's the new leader. I would
- 6:41Speaker 2: say one week tops that this guy will be alive.
- 6:45Speaker 2: He's known as being a staunch advocate of his father's lunatic,
- 6:50Speaker 2: hardline stuff. He has close ties to Iran's notoriously brutal
- 6:56Speaker 2: Islamic Revolutionary Guard. Now, the thing is he had no
- 7:00Speaker 2: official role in his father's regime, but he was still
- 7:03Speaker 2: sanctioned by the US in twenty nineteen. The appointment is
- 7:07Speaker 2: actually unexpected. Again, he had no role. It's like the
- 7:10Speaker 2: like Michael Corleon, who was not part of the stuff,
- 7:12Speaker 2: all of a sudden getting the leadership. And in Iran,
- 7:18Speaker 2: they've always looked down on family succession. These Ayah Toolus.
- 7:22Speaker 2: It's one thing they were against, is this family succession,
- 7:25Speaker 2: because that's what happened with the Shaw of Iran and
- 7:27Speaker 2: all that, and that was the monarchy they toppled. Democrats
- 7:32Speaker 2: are trying to attack this thing like crazy, and they
- 7:34Speaker 2: don't know what to do, so they're actually resorting to
- 7:36Speaker 2: this old thing from one hundred years ago where they
- 7:39Speaker 2: do this you never served, you never served. For instance,
- 7:43Speaker 2: that guy that writes south Park that crazy whack up
- 7:46Speaker 2: now demanding Baron Trump be drafted to war. This is
- 7:52Speaker 2: they did this in the Gulf War. Remember this is
- 7:55Speaker 2: like from twenty years ago. If you didn't serve, you're
- 7:57Speaker 2: not allowed to go to war. And if you go
- 7:59Speaker 2: to war, you better have your family. It's ridiculous. First
- 8:02Speaker 2: of all, we don't have a draft anymore. Second of all,
- 8:04Speaker 2: if you talk to Pentagon officials from any of the
- 8:07Speaker 2: last four administrations, they'll tell you they do not want
- 8:10Speaker 2: to draft anybody. It's not like the old days. You know,
- 8:13Speaker 2: the Vietnam you were just looking for infantry guys to
- 8:16Speaker 2: march around with rifles. Today's armed forces are so high tech,
- 8:21Speaker 2: so computerized, that draftees are useless. You need people to
- 8:26Speaker 2: go through like a year or two of training. Drafting
- 8:28Speaker 2: people doesn't work anymore. That's why they don't do it.
- 8:31Speaker 2: But you got this stuff going on. Rachel Maddow last
- 8:34Speaker 2: night going after Trump for not serving. He didn't serve,
- 8:38Speaker 2: called them a bone spurs. Remember that was his thing
- 8:40Speaker 2: about not serving, that he had bone spurs. You know,
- 8:44Speaker 2: for four years we had President Joe Biden, who never served,
- 8:47Speaker 2: who claimed he had asthma and that's why he couldn't serve.
- 8:51Speaker 2: If you read his five hundred page biography of his
- 8:53Speaker 2: old life, there's not a word in there about asthma. Suddenly,
- 8:56Speaker 2: when it was draft time he had asthma. Joe Biden
- 9:00Speaker 2: got I think eight student defirm. It's more than Trump.
- 9:04Speaker 2: But they've gone in the attic and gotten this old
- 9:08Speaker 2: old argument out of the closet about he didn't serve,
- 9:11Speaker 2: he didn't serve. Remember the great election of two thousand
- 9:14Speaker 2: and four, it was John Kerry against George Bush, and
- 9:18Speaker 2: Carrie had been in the military. He had been in Vietnam,
- 9:20Speaker 2: so he used that as his campaign I served, He
- 9:23Speaker 2: didn't serve. I served. But as it got to close
- 9:27Speaker 2: to the election, if people start to look at this
- 9:29Speaker 2: as a wit a minute, Carrie served like twenty six
- 9:32Speaker 2: years ago. Thirty years ago, he was in the thirty
- 9:35Speaker 2: years ago, he was in the army or the navy
- 9:37Speaker 2: for a couple of months. And he commanded a boat
- 9:40Speaker 2: with eight people on it. And that's a service thirty
- 9:42Speaker 2: years ago. And then I looked at Bush. The guy's
- 9:45Speaker 2: been the commander in chief of the entire US military
- 9:47Speaker 2: for the last four years. I think that counts as
- 9:49Speaker 2: more service than Carrie. President Trump spoke yesterday about the war.
- 9:56Speaker 5: They no longer have air protection, They no longer have
- 9:59Speaker 5: any detection facilities at all left, and so they're gonna
- 10:05Speaker 5: have they're going to be in.
- 10:06Speaker 6: For a lot of hurt.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Yeah, the air Force is gone, their navy is completely gone.
- 10:10Speaker 5: Most of the people we had in mind are dead.
- 10:13Speaker 5: So you know, we had some in mind from that
- 10:15Speaker 5: group that is is dead, and now we have another group.
- 10:20Speaker 5: They may be dead also based on reports. So I
- 10:24Speaker 5: guess you have a third wave of coming in.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Yeah, Now, who's going to take over.
- 10:28Speaker 5: With amazingly, they're hitting countries that were.
- 10:30Speaker 2: No Actually, and this was a big mistake from Iran.
- 10:34Speaker 2: From the beginning, they started attacking everybody in the Middle East,
- 10:37Speaker 2: Dubai and Saudi Arabia, these are their only possible allies
- 10:42Speaker 2: them immediately by attacking them.
- 10:43Speaker 5: Amazingly, they're hitting countries that were you know, let's call
- 10:47Speaker 5: them neutral, right, they lived together.
- 10:49Speaker 2: For a long time.
- 10:51Speaker 5: They I think they were surprised. I was surprised, I think.
- 10:55Speaker 5: And now those countries are all fighting against them and
- 10:57Speaker 5: fighting strongly against them. Yeah, we were having negotiations with
- 11:02Speaker 5: these lunatics and it was my opinion that they were
- 11:06Speaker 5: going to attack first. They were going to attack if
- 11:08Speaker 5: we didn't do it, they were going to attack first.
- 11:11Speaker 6: I fell strongly about that.
- 11:13Speaker 2: The keyword there is lunatics. You got to remember they
- 11:15Speaker 2: were a bunch of lunatics. The Ayatola a lunatic, his
- 11:19Speaker 2: son a lunatic. All those people run things a lunatic.
- 11:21Speaker 2: Now this was pretty interesting. He asked them, well, what
- 11:24Speaker 2: if this is all over, it'll be over soon. What's
- 11:26Speaker 2: the worst possible outcome.
- 11:28Speaker 5: I guess the worst case would be we do this
- 11:30Speaker 5: and then somebody takes over who's as bad as the
- 11:33Speaker 5: previous person, Right, that could happen.
- 11:36Speaker 2: We don't want that to happen. Yeah, that's a pretty
- 11:39Speaker 2: honest answer. Now, you got to remember, you know, Democrats
- 11:42Speaker 2: do what they always do. If a Republican does a
- 11:45Speaker 2: bombing thing, they all start to yell it's a violation,
- 11:48Speaker 2: it's illegal. You violated this, You violated that. You got
- 11:51Speaker 2: to get the war powers that. None of this is
- 11:52Speaker 2: true legally, constitutionally, none of that's true. It's just nonsense.
- 11:56Speaker 2: You got to remember Barack Obama was twenty eleven, did
- 12:01Speaker 2: the same thing in Libya. He wanted to take out Kadafi.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Rebels were rising up. We wanted to help the rebels.
- 12:07Speaker 2: So Obama launched the same sort of attack bombing Libya.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Every Democrat immediately put out a statement, thank God for
- 12:15Speaker 2: his device decisive action. Look at how great he is. Decisive,
- 12:19Speaker 2: he's acting, Look at him protecting the free. There's just
- 12:22Speaker 2: exact opposite of today. That's one thing about these democrats
- 12:26Speaker 2: they have they have no shame. They could tell you
- 12:28Speaker 2: one thing an hour later, if Trump does it, they'll
- 12:31Speaker 2: tell you how awful it is. It's the most disgusting
- 12:33Speaker 2: thing in the world. Yeah, but you were just for
- 12:34Speaker 2: it for the last ten years. They couldn't care less.
- 12:38Speaker 2: They'll say anything everything Trump does, closing the border, deporting illegals,
- 12:44Speaker 2: getting rid of the show. This is everything the Democrats
- 12:47Speaker 2: have been promising to do for thirty years. All they
- 12:50Speaker 2: did was promise this stuff, and they're furious that somebody
- 12:53Speaker 2: actually did it now for two reasons, One because it's
- 12:56Speaker 2: Trump and they hate him. And two, if you get this,
- 13:00Speaker 2: if they don't have a campaign issue anymore. Now, Hey,
- 13:03Speaker 2: speaking of campaigns, Texas, Jasmine Crockett lost lost badly in
- 13:09Speaker 2: the runoff. There new guy, this is the new hotshot Democrat,
- 13:13Speaker 2: Tall Rico. He's only thirty six. Wiped out Jasmine crocket
- 13:18Speaker 2: and a typical Democrat. You know, if you say the
- 13:20Speaker 2: election was rigged, you should immediately be arrested and go
- 13:23Speaker 2: to jail, just like Trump. Now she's saying the election
- 13:27Speaker 2: was rigged. It was rigged. However, she was crying voter suppression.
- 13:33Speaker 2: There was a court ruling about keeping the polls open
- 13:35Speaker 2: a little later voter suppression or closing the polls early
- 13:38Speaker 2: voter suppression. Although everybody's looking at the number she got
- 13:42Speaker 2: wiped out by a huge amount. There's no amount of
- 13:45Speaker 2: suppression or tamper, and there's no amount that could have
- 13:48Speaker 2: made up this gap. She was just completely wiped out.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Now the thing is Tall Rico. This is the new
- 13:55Speaker 2: hotshot Democrat. Remember this is the guy Colbert wanted to
- 13:57Speaker 2: have on and the Democrats said, you can't have You
- 14:00Speaker 2: gotta have both on. You can't have just one on.
- 14:02Speaker 2: So Tall Rico one big with Hispanics. That's a big
- 14:06Speaker 2: thing because Democrats had completely lost Hispanic voters. So in
- 14:10Speaker 2: the general election, this is encouraging Democrats because he did
- 14:14Speaker 2: so well with Hispanics. Maybe maybe he's got a shot
- 14:17Speaker 2: in Texas. Anyway, we'll get back to the war, We'll
- 14:20Speaker 2: get to Epstein, We'll get to congestion pricing. Hey, big
- 14:25Speaker 2: announcement this morning. Curtis Sliwa will become part of the
- 14:29Speaker 2: Morning Show. He will be the co host of the
- 14:31Speaker 2: Morning Show starting Monday. We waste no time. Monday, It'll
- 14:36Speaker 2: be Curtis Sliwa and Larry Ment. You remember Curtis, for many,
- 14:40Speaker 2: many many years had the number one morning show in
- 14:43Speaker 2: New York City. He and another guy. But this time
- 14:47Speaker 2: he's got a partner. People like a lot more it'll
- 14:50Speaker 2: be Curtis and Larry. Curtis sliwa. Larry meant he's starting
- 14:53Speaker 2: Monday six to ten am. Curtis was on this morning.
- 14:57Speaker 6: This is big.
- 14:58Speaker 7: I am coming to the oldest talk radio station continuously
- 15:03Speaker 7: running in New York City and the best talk radio station.
- 15:06Speaker 6: So it doesn't get any better than that.
- 15:08Speaker 7: Joining with you, Larry and the crew there at woor.
- 15:12Speaker 7: I come back to what people have been asking me
- 15:15Speaker 7: to do ever since I lost the election on November four,
- 15:18Speaker 7: A lot of people have said, when are you getting back,
- 15:19Speaker 7: When are you getting back to talk radio?
- 15:21Speaker 2: Well, Monday, Monday. Right here you can hear Curtis six
- 15:25Speaker 2: to ten starting Monday. That's great news. And yeah, we're
- 15:31Speaker 2: actually the oldest talk radio station in America. Actually talk
- 15:34Speaker 2: radio started here. This is the station that invented and
- 15:38Speaker 2: originated talk radio one hundred it's one hundred and three
- 15:43Speaker 2: hundred and four years ago, I think one hundred and
- 15:45Speaker 2: four years ago. One hundred and four years ago invented
- 15:49Speaker 2: talk radio here. Then in the nineteen forties, one of
- 15:52Speaker 2: the talk show hosts, a young guy named Barry Gray.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Nobody had ever done this for it before. He put
- 15:59Speaker 2: a phone call on the air. It was very primitive
- 16:02Speaker 2: back then. Almost had to hold the phone up to
- 16:03Speaker 2: the microphone you could barely hear the caller. But he
- 16:06Speaker 2: was the first one to put a caller on the air,
- 16:09Speaker 2: and I think it was nineteen forty seven, so everything
- 16:12Speaker 2: was invented here at wor Hey. We'll take some calls
- 16:16Speaker 2: in a minute. Eight hundred three two one zero seven
- 16:20Speaker 2: ten is the number. Eight hundred three two one zero
- 16:24Speaker 2: seven ten.
- 16:24Speaker 8: Hey.

- 17:47Speaker 9: River, right, Well, no, not near that. No, anyway, I
- 17:53Speaker 9: wanted to say that I am thrilled and delighted that
- 17:57Speaker 9: Curtis is coming back. And you know, I've been listening
- 18:00Speaker 9: to I'm eighty seven years old, perfect and I've been
- 18:08Speaker 9: listening to w R since I was a child, and
- 18:12Speaker 9: the Gamblings and what have you. And I am so
- 18:15Speaker 9: disgusted with that radio station up to Dive.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Oh no, no, they're all nice people up there.
- 18:20Speaker 9: They are not all nice people and they are and
- 18:23Speaker 9: to stab Curtis in the back and have people like
- 18:26Speaker 9: Anthony Wiener on and Andrew Cuomo.
- 18:29Speaker 2: Is Anthony Waiters. Anthony Wiener is not there anymore, and
- 18:32Speaker 2: I wouldn't bet on Cuomo being there much. I don't know.
- 18:38Speaker 9: Yeah, well you know the insights.
- 18:40Speaker 2: No, I don't know any I have no insight school.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I'm just from listening to it. I don't see that
- 18:44Speaker 2: lasting too long. But thanks for calling. Glad you're happy
- 18:48Speaker 2: Curtis is coming. Hey, speaking a Wiener, Anthony Wiener, he
- 18:52Speaker 2: was on the view acting like he wants to make
- 18:55Speaker 2: a comeback. Anthony Wiener, the whack job pervert was on
- 19:00Speaker 2: the view, and it looked like to me, it looked
- 19:03Speaker 2: like he's getting ready to run for something. Hey. Remember,
- 19:07Speaker 2: Wiener is like a cross between Bill de Blasio and
- 19:10Speaker 2: Jeffrey Epstein, like a really left wing horrible, terrible, terrible
- 19:14Speaker 2: left wing kook politician and a total underage women pervert
- 19:19Speaker 2: kind of guy. Now, they did confront him about his past.
- 19:22Speaker 2: He went on and this whole speech about it was
- 19:24Speaker 2: because of addiction and he's a changed man, and he
- 19:28Speaker 2: was asking New Yorkers trust him at the ballot box,
- 19:30Speaker 2: saying he's taken accountability and moved on. So just a warning,
- 19:35Speaker 2: just a warning, this creepy pervert maybe trying to make
- 19:38Speaker 2: a comeback. Let's go to Stuart in South Carolina. Stuart,
- 19:41Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 19:43Speaker 10: Hey, Mark, carry you. I just want to mention that
- 19:46Speaker 10: Reagan hit Quadaffi in nineteen eighty six after that nightclub bombing. Yeah,
- 19:51Speaker 10: and after that, Kudaffi had been very quiet, very silent.
- 19:54Speaker 10: He wasn't really a threat after that. And when Obama
- 19:57Speaker 10: hit him and basically killed him, the Democrats didn't say anything.
- 20:02Speaker 10: But Kadaffi had had gone underground. He was afraid of
- 20:06Speaker 10: America after that, so so they hit on Kadaffi by
- 20:09Speaker 10: Obama really to me was kind of senseless.
- 20:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:13Speaker 10: And the other thing I want to mention was John
- 20:15Speaker 10: Kerry was actually in the service like fifty seven years ago.
- 20:19Speaker 10: Vietnam ended April.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Thirtieth, fove okay, but when he ran it was two
- 20:22Speaker 2: thousand and four.
- 20:23Speaker 11: So that would have been yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, And
- 20:26Speaker 11: his third Purple Heart got him out of Vietnam, and
- 20:30Speaker 11: that one as Vietnam vets pretty much know that he
- 20:32Speaker 11: did that to himself to get him out of there.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Well as the great John McCain said, Kerrie got three
- 20:38Speaker 2: purple hearts without ever spending a single minute in sick base.
- 20:44Speaker 10: That was not a John McCain fan, but that.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Is actually a Yeah, McCain said.
- 20:49Speaker 12: He supposedly yeah, well, he supposedly said threw his medals
- 20:52Speaker 12: over the White House fence, and we can't stand him
- 20:56Speaker 12: as much as we can't stand Hanoi.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Jane, Yeah, all right, Stuart, thanks for yeah, McCain said,
- 21:02Speaker 2: to carry was obviously just a metal chaser. And the
- 21:04Speaker 2: reason why that third one, when you got three, you
- 21:06Speaker 2: got to you got to go home. Let's go to
- 21:08Speaker 2: Jerry and Greenwich. Jerry, how you doing.
- 21:11Speaker 13: I'm doing it very well. Thank you for taking my call.
- 21:13Speaker 14: Mark.
- 21:14Speaker 13: I would like to know if you're Truck Schumann and company,
- 21:17Speaker 13: then they realize what Crump did. That many millions and
- 21:21Speaker 13: millions of a Medican life saved in New York to Washington, Philadelphia, Boster.
- 21:28Speaker 13: You know, I think they we've all been wipe it
- 21:29Speaker 13: out of the earth.
- 21:30Speaker 2: No, yeah, that's why they got That's why Schumer got
- 21:32Speaker 2: so mad. You know, listen, this could be a big
- 21:34Speaker 2: thing politically. It could be great for Trump. It could
- 21:37Speaker 2: make them look good. That's why Schumer gets so upset.
- 21:39Speaker 2: They don't want Trump to succeed on anything. Ever, let's
- 21:42Speaker 2: go to Dan and Queens. Dan, how you doing, Hi, Mark? Yes, Dan.
- 21:48Speaker 15: I'm sure your audience, and I'm one of them, has noticed.
- 21:52Speaker 15: You've helped a lot of your fellow radio people. You
- 21:55Speaker 15: had Joe Concher, Curtis and Lionel all on your show.
- 22:02Speaker 15: Now they all have gigs.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Well wait wait wait, wait wait wait hanging out. Lionel
- 22:06Speaker 2: had plenty of jobs long before he was on this show.
- 22:09Speaker 15: Lionel was yeah, but now he's got a permanent more
- 22:11Speaker 15: non ag.
- 22:12Speaker 2: I think you're forgetting Lionel was the morning host on
- 22:14Speaker 2: the other station for years. Lionel was on Channel eleven
- 22:18Speaker 2: for years. Lionel was on a million Lionel had quite
- 22:22Speaker 2: a career. That's the reason I was a guest. He
- 22:25Speaker 2: was a well known radio guy then, and it was
- 22:28Speaker 2: Joe Kancha had a million, million, million jobs before he
- 22:31Speaker 2: was ever on here.
- 22:33Speaker 15: My question to you is, when are you going to
- 22:35Speaker 15: get a culton, When are you going to use your
- 22:36Speaker 15: influence to get Anne on the view to battle those shrews.
- 22:40Speaker 2: She's been on the View plenty of.
- 22:41Speaker 15: Times as a permanent host.
- 22:44Speaker 2: They don't don't think I don't think she wants to
- 22:45Speaker 2: be a permanent host on the View. Uh, it doesn't
- 22:48Speaker 2: mean anything to be on the View anymore. It doesn't
- 22:50Speaker 2: mean a thing at all. More people hear on this show,
- 22:52Speaker 2: then we'll see her on the View. Uh, you know,
- 22:55Speaker 2: the View is just it's a it's a tiny, tiny,
- 22:58Speaker 2: tiny audience for network TV nowadays. Hey, when we come back,
- 23:02Speaker 2: the great, the brilliant Steve Forbes will be with us next.
- 23:05Speaker 2: Let's see what he thinks about all of this, coming
- 23:06Speaker 2: up on seven to ten wrly.
- 23:10Speaker 16: Elisha on sevent ten WR, Well, we like to bring
- 23:15Speaker 16: you the smartest people on earth, Steve Forbes, chairman of
- 23:18Speaker 16: Forbes Media, that you should be reading, subscribe to, and
- 23:21Speaker 16: take great advantage of.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Also the author of a very important book. I urge
- 23:25Speaker 2: you to get this book Inflation. No better book on
- 23:28Speaker 2: the subject. Steve Forbes' book is an Amazon. Steve Forbes,
- 23:32Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 23:34Speaker 14: Doing fine? Thanks? Enjoying not a heat wave but at
- 23:40Speaker 14: least not single digit temperatures. Yeah no, that's going to
- 23:44Speaker 14: be grateful. And also seeing what's happening in Florida and Arizona,
- 23:51Speaker 14: waiting for a few weeks for those magic words play ball, baseball.
- 23:55Speaker 2: Yeah, it's only a couple of weeks away. Spring training
- 23:58Speaker 2: is underway. Yes, hey, let me ask you about this
- 24:02Speaker 2: crazy Chuck Schumer. Yesterday he said Trump and his endless war?
- 24:07Speaker 2: Can you really say endless war? On day four?
- 24:12Speaker 14: Just sos? They have their own definition of the calendar. Now,
- 24:17Speaker 14: the Republicans are having great glee and digging up that
- 24:22Speaker 14: twenty eleven thing from Nancy Pelosi when Barack Obama bombed
- 24:26Speaker 14: Libya and the reporter asked her, does that mean that
- 24:32Speaker 14: Congress doesn't need to approve this? And she said, that's right,
- 24:36Speaker 14: Congress doesn't need to approve it. Then they played it
- 24:38Speaker 14: for the Democrat leader yesterday and he just could smirk
- 24:42Speaker 14: and say, the circumstances are different. What a profound observation. Yes,
- 24:46Speaker 14: Libya is not your ant Oh boy, he learned his geography. Well, so, yes,
- 24:51Speaker 14: four days is a forever war? Ten years nasty?
- 24:55Speaker 2: Okay, Now what about all the all the media Democrats
- 24:59Speaker 2: are telling you, Dan, this is it. Gas prices, oil prices,
- 25:02Speaker 2: energy will go crazy. We're going to be in terrible
- 25:07Speaker 2: trouble of the economy. As a result. What's the truth.
- 25:11Speaker 14: The truth is, you could get a spike, but we've
- 25:15Speaker 14: had oil spikes bigger than the ones we've experienced now,
- 25:19Speaker 14: and the markets sort of know, which is why the
- 25:21Speaker 14: stock market always wobbly when you have these uncertainties, but
- 25:25Speaker 14: still holding up fairly well. Knows that won the war.
- 25:29Speaker 14: This war is not forever. It's a matter of weeks,
- 25:32Speaker 14: not years, and that disruptions there may be straight of Hormuz,
- 25:36Speaker 14: who knows what will happen there, especially with insurance rates,
- 25:40Speaker 14: But these are temporary. These are not permanent. And the
- 25:43Speaker 14: real danger is not what's going to happen in the
- 25:47Speaker 14: next four or five weeks. That's going to be dicey,
- 25:50Speaker 14: but what the Federal Reserve might do, thinking, oh, this
- 25:53Speaker 14: is going to raise the inflation rate of inflation and
- 25:56Speaker 14: do something dumb like not cut interest rates. So that
- 26:00Speaker 14: that's what I worry about, is misinterpreting what's happening. This
- 26:04Speaker 14: war will not last more than four weeks, five weeks,
- 26:06Speaker 14: six weeks. And by the way, there's growing pressure not
- 26:10Speaker 14: to send US troops in, but to start arming militias
- 26:13Speaker 14: of Iranians so they can deal with this inside. And
- 26:17Speaker 14: by bombing the police and the military. These citis armed
- 26:22Speaker 14: citizens can take over. You know, we had a citizen's
- 26:26Speaker 14: army in our revolution. These things can work.
- 26:29Speaker 2: Yeah, good point. So hey, these New York politicians, especially
- 26:34Speaker 2: the Assembly, now they're talking about a twenty five percent
- 26:37Speaker 2: surcharged tax on corporations and your mom, Donnie, was a
- 26:43Speaker 2: tax on corporations increase. Isn't that the same thing as
- 26:46Speaker 2: a tariff? I thought they hate tariffs.
- 26:49Speaker 14: Well, it's a matter what you call it, and so,
- 26:53Speaker 14: but it is. It is a tax, and maybe they
- 26:56Speaker 14: should call it a tariff center But anyway, it's a
- 27:02Speaker 14: dumb thing going to hurt the economy of a New
- 27:04Speaker 14: York economy. They're already sneaking in things like vastly increasing
- 27:08Speaker 14: their pension costs and the like. And as we all know,
- 27:12Speaker 14: New York City's budget alone, the city's budget alone is
- 27:15Speaker 14: bigger than the state of Florida, even though Florida has
- 27:18Speaker 14: almost three times as many people as New York. Florida
- 27:22Speaker 14: gets by with a smaller budget than New York City.
- 27:26Speaker 14: And last I look, we don't have we're actually wandering
- 27:28Speaker 14: around Florida the way they do in New York City,
- 27:32Speaker 14: and people seem to be doing all right. We don't
- 27:34Speaker 14: have people dying in the streets or anything like that.
- 27:38Speaker 14: So yes, it's just another self destructive move. And I
- 27:42Speaker 14: just hope with this year's election that we finally get
- 27:45Speaker 14: a governor who realizes you want to have businesses grow,
- 27:49Speaker 14: not destroyed.
- 27:50Speaker 2: Yeah, let me ask you an inflation question. Maybe it's
- 27:53Speaker 2: a stupid question, but you get inflation, the prices go up,
- 27:56Speaker 2: and then if you solve the problem, you stop the inflation,
- 28:00Speaker 2: but you never get the prices to go down. Correct.
- 28:04Speaker 14: Well, you can get when costs go up, Yeah, they
- 28:07Speaker 14: get it embedded. But with the spikes that we see,
- 28:11Speaker 14: the spikes that we see now in oil, that is
- 28:15Speaker 14: very though. Gasoline prices and certain food prices are very sensitive,
- 28:18Speaker 14: so they can go up, but we also know they
- 28:20Speaker 14: can go down. Going back to a year, you know,
- 28:24Speaker 14: centuries ago and Joe Biden was allegedly president, we all
- 28:28Speaker 14: know what happened to gas prices and even though they're
- 28:30Speaker 14: spiking now, still way below than when Donald Trump took
- 28:34Speaker 14: office for a second term. So these things will sort
- 28:38Speaker 14: themselves out. And the key thing is not the panic.
- 28:41Speaker 14: See this thing through and the oil price, the markets
- 28:45Speaker 14: will readjust and remember we're a big oil producer, We're
- 28:48Speaker 14: a big natural gas producer. So it's Venezuela and so
- 28:54Speaker 14: and Iran when it gets a new government, which eventually
- 28:57Speaker 14: will is also a major oil producer. And one of
- 29:00Speaker 14: the things that a new Iranian government is not going
- 29:02Speaker 14: to do is so discounted oil to a country called China.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Now, if you get the right government there, you could
- 29:10Speaker 2: really increase the flow of oil we have. That would
- 29:13Speaker 2: really bring the prices down. But what about our relationship
- 29:16Speaker 2: with Saudi Do you think we have to make some
- 29:18Speaker 2: kind of agreement them not to drop the price too much.
- 29:23Speaker 14: Well, I think the Saudis wants stability and one of
- 29:26Speaker 14: the things that they've worked on is is to make
- 29:30Speaker 14: sure oil didn't spike. And also they want stability, so
- 29:38Speaker 14: they don't want it to go too low, but they
- 29:40Speaker 14: don't want it to go too high because then they
- 29:42Speaker 14: know that leads to all sorts of cheating and bring
- 29:45Speaker 14: a new supply on. So they want control. They don't
- 29:49Speaker 14: have the kind of control they had in the past
- 29:51Speaker 14: by a long shot. But the thing is in terms
- 29:56Speaker 14: of the war, and I think the markets recognize this. Again,
- 30:00Speaker 14: these are temporary disruptions. These are not four year, six
- 30:03Speaker 14: year disruptions. These are four weeks, six weeks, pick a number,
- 30:07Speaker 14: But they're not forever disruptions.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Yeah. Hey, let me ask you one more question AI.
- 30:13Speaker 2: Five years from now, how are we going to feel
- 30:15Speaker 2: about AI? A We're going to think it's a wonderful
- 30:17Speaker 2: thing and it worked out perfectly. Or are we going
- 30:19Speaker 2: to be furious that hundreds of tens of millions of
- 30:23Speaker 2: people got laid off?
- 30:25Speaker 14: Well, I think we're well with AI. It's like anything
- 30:31Speaker 14: can be used for good or for evil. But I
- 30:33Speaker 14: think if we have the right kind of economy, I e.
- 30:38Speaker 14: Continue to reduce regulations in the like I hope President
- 30:41Speaker 14: Trump goes for another tax cut and so you get
- 30:45Speaker 14: a booming economy. We'll cope with the disruptions of AI.
- 30:48Speaker 14: You know, I live through it in the print industry.
- 30:51Speaker 14: You know, the print industry is upended in the nineteen
- 30:54Speaker 14: nineties by the Internet and so huge adjustments there. But
- 30:59Speaker 14: in a free econom me, you go with it and
- 31:01Speaker 14: we all end up more prosperous. And I think I've mentioned.
- 31:05Speaker 6: That with AI.
- 31:06Speaker 14: Whoever invented that name artificial intelligence should be shunned. We
- 31:12Speaker 14: don't call we don't call cars artificial horses, and we
- 31:15Speaker 14: don't call airplanes artificial birds. My friend Mark Mills made
- 31:19Speaker 14: that observation. And by the way, and in closing on that,
- 31:24Speaker 14: over two hundred and twenty years ago, there was great
- 31:26Speaker 14: fears of this thing called electricity, and you had medical
- 31:29Speaker 14: students taking cadavers and you know, giving them jolts of electricity,
- 31:34Speaker 14: and the bodies bounced around. Everyone's wondering, good lord, can
- 31:37Speaker 14: we create life with electricity jolts? That's how we got
- 31:41Speaker 14: the novel Frankenstein. Wow, Well we didn't get we didn't
- 31:45Speaker 14: get we didn't get the body Frankenstein's coming out of
- 31:48Speaker 14: the labs. We've got great entertainments. So yes, with any
- 31:52Speaker 14: with humans, nothing is perfect. But I think AI one
- 31:55Speaker 14: of the big things in AI, by the way, is
- 31:57Speaker 14: going to be And then the coming years, faster approval
- 32:01Speaker 14: development approval of new medicines and their new medical devices
- 32:05Speaker 14: instead of ten or twelve years, will be able to
- 32:07Speaker 14: eventually do it in ten or twelve months. That'll be
- 32:10Speaker 14: a great thing.
- 32:11Speaker 2: Wow, that's an amazing point. People were afraid of electricity
- 32:14Speaker 2: cable Well, Steve, Steve Forbes, great as always, thanks for
- 32:21Speaker 2: being with Hey, everybody, get his book Inflation. You love
- 32:24Speaker 2: this book and learn a lot the books Inflation. Steve
- 32:27Speaker 2: Forbes also, of course Forbes Media. Make sure you read it,
- 32:29Speaker 2: make sure you have subscribed to it. And Steve Forbes,
- 32:32Speaker 2: thanks for being with us. Thank you you soon, Thank you. Hey,
- 32:38Speaker 2: don't forget Bucking Clay Noon Today. I love listening to
- 32:40Speaker 2: them noon to three every day. And then you got
- 32:42Speaker 2: the most listened to radio show in America. You got
- 32:46Speaker 2: Sean Hannity at three o'clock and Jesse Kelly at six
- 32:49Speaker 2: and Jimmy fail has an excellent, very funny new show
- 32:53Speaker 2: every night at nine on seven to ten.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Wo R if you're listening to Mark on the iHeartRadio
- 32:59Speaker 1: app and tap the preset button. Now, now back to
- 33:03Speaker 1: the Mark Simon Show on WR.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Hey, it'll get to fifty degrees today and then upper
- 33:11Speaker 2: forties the rest of the week, and then weekend in
- 33:14Speaker 2: the sixties, next week sixties and near seventy. That's it.
- 33:19Speaker 2: You got through the winter. The cold weather is over.
- 33:22Speaker 2: Spring is just like two and a half weeks away,
- 33:25Speaker 2: and daylight Saving Time begins a Saturday night. You'll lose
- 33:28Speaker 2: an hour sleep Saturday night. Just remember that daylight saving
- 33:32Speaker 2: time on Sunday. It'll be light out till six point thirty.
- 33:35Speaker 2: We'll be back right after the news. Well, a lot
- 33:37Speaker 2: to get to on seven ten WR.
- 33:40Speaker 1: Mister New York Mark Simone sr.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Hey, it's Wednesday. It's just seventeen days away from spring
- 33:53Speaker 2: daylight saving time this weekend. The war continues, as Chuck
- 33:58Speaker 2: Schumer called it Trump's endless war. That's Schumer yesterday, Trump's
- 34:03Speaker 2: endless war. It's four days. Actually, it's day five today.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I wouldn't call that endless. Schumer has never once said
- 34:11Speaker 2: Ukraine is an endless war. It's year five, and he
- 34:15Speaker 2: hasn't said that. They look so silly, these people. You
- 34:19Speaker 2: got Richard Blumenthal, he's the Schumer of Connecticut. Another gloomy
- 34:24Speaker 2: old fossil old, washed up old dinosaur. Bloomenthal saying he's
- 34:29Speaker 2: worried the US may deploy soldiers in Iran boots on
- 34:33Speaker 2: the ground. I think Trump has made it pretty clear
- 34:36Speaker 2: no boots on the ground really not necessary. We've wiped
- 34:39Speaker 2: out everything in record time, four days, and we've destroyed
- 34:44Speaker 2: seventy five percent of everything there. We should be done
- 34:47Speaker 2: in a couple of weeks and then that's it. There's
- 34:50Speaker 2: no need for boots on the ground. There could possibly
- 34:53Speaker 2: be boots on the ground, but it won't be us.
- 34:56Speaker 2: It'll be local militias that will arm and supply. That
- 34:59Speaker 2: could happen now the courts. The big thing is you
- 35:02Speaker 2: got to worry about who takes over. You needed to
- 35:05Speaker 2: be the right group. You know, what we're doing in
- 35:08Speaker 2: Iran is exactly what Barack Obama did in Libya. Now
- 35:12Speaker 2: he's a Democrat, so it was okay when he does it.
- 35:14Speaker 2: It's fine, great when he does it. But the democrat,
- 35:17Speaker 2: what a decisive, brilliant leader. If it's a republican today,
- 35:21Speaker 2: illegal war, it's a violation of Obama did it in Libya.
- 35:26Speaker 2: But you know, years later in an interview, when Obama
- 35:30Speaker 2: was asked the biggest regret that he had as president,
- 35:34Speaker 2: he actually said it was when he went to war
- 35:36Speaker 2: in o Libya and wiped out Gaddafi and got rid
- 35:40Speaker 2: of him and killed him. He said he should have
- 35:43Speaker 2: been better prepared for the aftermath. They carried out the strikes.
- 35:48Speaker 2: It was designed to protect the population. They got Kadafi,
- 35:51Speaker 2: he was killed, but Obama said he regretted he hadn't
- 35:55Speaker 2: planned more because Libya did plunge into chaos with Malitias
- 35:59Speaker 2: taken over for civil war, all that sort of stuff. Now,
- 36:02Speaker 2: Trump obviously a much more highly skilled manager than Obama.
- 36:07Speaker 2: Trump has managed hundreds of thousands employees, managed a global
- 36:11Speaker 2: empire for forty years. Obama never had a real job
- 36:15Speaker 2: before before getting into politics. He was what did they
- 36:19Speaker 2: call that, a community organizer. Nobody knows what the hell
- 36:22Speaker 2: that is. But he's never managed anything. So Trump much
- 36:24Speaker 2: more management skill, and I think that's the big difference. Hey,
- 36:29Speaker 2: Epstein hearings, they're going to call in Howard Lutnick. Now,
- 36:32Speaker 2: why what does Lutnick have to do with Epstein? Basically nothing.
- 36:37Speaker 2: He had lunch with him once. Lutnik years ago bought
- 36:41Speaker 2: a townhouse on seventy first Street and the guy next
- 36:44Speaker 2: door was a guy named Jeffrey Epstein. That's how they met.
- 36:47Speaker 2: He was the next door neighbor. You know, we have
- 36:49Speaker 2: these townhouses, they're actually connected. I mean the two walls
- 36:52Speaker 2: actually touch each other. You should like share a wall
- 36:55Speaker 2: in between. So that's how he met Epstein. I think
- 36:58Speaker 2: one time he took a tour of Epstein's house and
- 37:00Speaker 2: then Epstein kept bugging him to have lunch because Howard
- 37:04Speaker 2: Lutnick back then was a big deal. He was the
- 37:06Speaker 2: chairman of Cantor Fitzgerald. So Epstein always trying to woo
- 37:10Speaker 2: and court anybody who's anybody, and kept begging Epstein to
- 37:14Speaker 2: come to lunch. And Epstein had a big yacht, I mean,
- 37:17Speaker 2: Lutnik had a big yacht. And he was down there
- 37:20Speaker 2: in the Caribbean, not far from the island, and he said, okay,
- 37:24Speaker 2: we'll stop by for lunch. When he said we will
- 37:26Speaker 2: stop by for lunch, it was Howard Lutnick, his wife,
- 37:30Speaker 2: his four kids, two nannies, and they had a number
- 37:33Speaker 2: another couple with them that had kids and nannies. And
- 37:36Speaker 2: he said to be okay if we bring them. So,
- 37:39Speaker 2: I mean, the only thing we learned from this, don't
- 37:41Speaker 2: ever invite Howard Lutnick to lunch. Because suddenly he had
- 37:44Speaker 2: fourteen people show up. But Epstein didn't mind. But so
- 37:49Speaker 2: Lutnick came, but with like twelve other people and that
- 37:53Speaker 2: was it. So he'll testify. There's nothing to testify about.
- 37:57Speaker 2: But it'll look good. It'll look like we see we
- 37:59Speaker 2: called and we called in somebody from the Trump administration.
- 38:03Speaker 2: Now Hillary Clinton testified, and if you saw the video,
- 38:08Speaker 2: she didn't look so bad. I mean, listen, she's not
- 38:10Speaker 2: gonna win any beauty contest. I mean she but she
- 38:13Speaker 2: didn't look as bad as you thought she would look.
- 38:15Speaker 2: You know, sometimes you see a picture of her, she
- 38:17Speaker 2: looks like just like a drunken old hag. But in
- 38:20Speaker 2: this she looked not so bad. Well, it turns out
- 38:23Speaker 2: the committee now revealed that the Hillary team showed up
- 38:28Speaker 2: and demanded all kinds of things, you know. They to
- 38:32Speaker 2: do this, They rented the Chapequa Performing Arts Center. It
- 38:37Speaker 2: was like a little theater and they set up like
- 38:40Speaker 2: a table where the people being interviewed would sit, and
- 38:45Speaker 2: behind it was a black curtain which belonged to the theater.
- 38:48Speaker 2: It was part of the theater. Well, apparently the Hillary
- 38:50Speaker 2: team didn't like it. They wanted something softer. They wanted
- 38:54Speaker 2: a nice blue background. They found a local vendor to manufacture.
- 39:00Speaker 2: It had to be built quickly. They built a special
- 39:03Speaker 2: set for her, the nice blue thing behind her. They
- 39:07Speaker 2: wanted special lighting to make her look good. They wanted
- 39:10Speaker 2: what they call beauty lightning. Beauty lighting. Beauty lighting is
- 39:17Speaker 2: sometimes when you're on television, you know there's lights above you,
- 39:21Speaker 2: there's lights on the side, there's lights behind you. Beauty
- 39:24Speaker 2: lighting is they put lights below you shining up, like
- 39:27Speaker 2: when you're on a TV show. Sometimes you know, see
- 39:29Speaker 2: the desk, you're all sitting at a desk, and it's
- 39:31Speaker 2: like a beautiful glass top. Actually loose sight. It's like
- 39:34Speaker 2: a loose sight top. Well sometimes underneath there's light in there.
- 39:39Speaker 2: There's all kinds of little lights shining up into your face.
- 39:41Speaker 2: It takes out the wrinkles. So if you have the
- 39:45Speaker 2: lights above, it'll create a shadow on the bags under
- 39:48Speaker 2: your eyes. It'll put a little shadow. You can see
- 39:51Speaker 2: the wrinkles. But if you put a light under the
- 39:54Speaker 2: table shining up, it takes out the shadows from the
- 39:57Speaker 2: wrinkles or the bags and you look younger. So Hillary's
- 40:00Speaker 2: team demanded this beauty lighting be put in. And then
- 40:04Speaker 2: they wanted you remember on the table that had a
- 40:06Speaker 2: white tablecloth. The reason they wanted that if you put
- 40:09Speaker 2: a white tablecloth, it reflects the light, so more light
- 40:12Speaker 2: will come shining up into your face and make it
- 40:16Speaker 2: look softer and get rid of the wrinkles. Hillary's team
- 40:19Speaker 2: tested the lighting. They had somebody sit in the chair
- 40:22Speaker 2: and they adjusted the lights while the test person sat
- 40:26Speaker 2: in the chair. They moved the camera angles to make
- 40:28Speaker 2: her look good. This was the result. Now if you
- 40:34Speaker 2: saw there's still look pretty bad, but you looked apparently
- 40:37Speaker 2: a lot better than she could have. And it helped
- 40:42Speaker 2: Bill Clinton a little. It softened him up, made him
- 40:44Speaker 2: look a little better. Hey, he's heard he saw that plane.
- 40:49Speaker 2: Remember the plane that went down in the Hudson. What
- 40:51Speaker 2: was his name, Sully Sullenberger, that great pilot. The engines
- 40:56Speaker 2: went He had no engines. He couldn't get to Laguardi
- 40:58Speaker 2: with that. The engines just went off. Bird strike knocked
- 41:01Speaker 2: out his engines and you're without any power. Now, it
- 41:04Speaker 2: turns out this old veteran pilot, Sally Sullenberger, he's been
- 41:09Speaker 2: a pilot in Vietnam. And it turned out he had
- 41:13Speaker 2: a lot of training as a glider pilot. I mean,
- 41:17Speaker 2: what are the odds of that. You're on this plane
- 41:19Speaker 2: all of a sudden, all the engines are out, and
- 41:22Speaker 2: this guy's a trained glider pilot. He knew how to
- 41:24Speaker 2: glide the plane right into the Hudson. You have to
- 41:26Speaker 2: keep the wings absolutely level and steady in the right angle.
- 41:30Speaker 2: And he landed that plane in the Hudson. Now, This
- 41:32Speaker 2: is a little easier because it's a little tiny plane.
- 41:35Speaker 2: But it's flying way way up the Hudson, upstate, and
- 41:41Speaker 2: it crashed. A little tiny private plane crashed. Here's the
- 41:44Speaker 2: transmission to the control tower. They're trying to get him
- 41:47Speaker 2: to the airport in this emergency.
- 41:49Speaker 15: We're going to go into the hot to Curio.
- 41:51Speaker 14: Say that against, We're.
- 41:53Speaker 15: Going into the Hudson River. I don't think we're gonna
- 41:55Speaker 15: make the airport.
- 41:58Speaker 2: Sounds like a pretty experienced pilot if you could say,
- 42:01Speaker 2: we're going to go into the Hudson. What's that? Uh,
- 42:04Speaker 2: we're gonna go into the Hudson. I mean, how do
- 42:07Speaker 2: you stay that calm? Remember that Sally Sullenburger audio is
- 42:10Speaker 2: the same thing. We're gonna land in the Hudson. What
- 42:13Speaker 2: you say we're gonna land in the Hudson. I mean
- 42:16Speaker 2: if if that were me or anybody, we'd be saying,
- 42:20Speaker 2: I mean, you'd be going crazy.
- 42:22Speaker 11: Me.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Listen that again. How calm this guy is.
- 42:24Speaker 15: We're going to go into the Hosonario. Say it against,
- 42:28Speaker 15: We're going into the Hudson River. I don't think we're
- 42:30Speaker 15: gonna make the airport.
- 42:33Speaker 10: Now.
- 42:33Speaker 9: Uh.
- 42:34Speaker 2: And this guy's a lot like Sullenberger. Sullenberger knew when
- 42:36Speaker 2: he was going to go into the Hudson where to
- 42:38Speaker 2: put the plane down. You could go north of the
- 42:42Speaker 2: George Washington Bridge, but he knew to turn and go
- 42:46Speaker 2: south because if you went south of the George Washing Bridge,
- 42:49Speaker 2: you'd be right near all the docks and piers and
- 42:52Speaker 2: rescue equipment they could get to you. You go north,
- 42:54Speaker 2: there's your farther away. He knew goes south of the bridge,
- 42:57Speaker 2: and that's where all the rescue stuff would be. And
- 42:59Speaker 2: they to him very very quickly. Same thing with this guy.
- 43:03Speaker 2: He knew like to go here, put this part of
- 43:06Speaker 2: the ting to be close to the part where the
- 43:08Speaker 2: rescue stuff would be coming from. Pretty amazing. Hey, Christy
- 43:13Speaker 2: Nome had to testify yesterday. I don't know about this,
- 43:18Speaker 2: Christy Nome. I don't know how long she's gonna last.
- 43:22Speaker 2: I don't know. You know, there's all kinds of things
- 43:23Speaker 2: coming out, Like her department, Homeland Security was shutdown, all
- 43:30Speaker 2: the funding was cut, no more funding because of this
- 43:32Speaker 2: crazy shutdown, government shutdown. And she's blaming this for you know,
- 43:38Speaker 2: homeland security. Right now, with the Iran conflict, you need
- 43:41Speaker 2: homeland security to look for any possible Iranian terrorist terrorist
- 43:45Speaker 2: cells here. But she's getting all kinds of flight now.
- 43:48Speaker 2: For instance, you know, she spent all this money she
- 43:50Speaker 2: bought a big, huge, enormous private jet basically for her
- 43:55Speaker 2: to fly around on. She claimed it was going to
- 43:57Speaker 2: be to transport deportees. But it's not.
- 44:00Speaker 8: It's not.
- 44:00Speaker 2: It's a it's got a bedroom in it. It's got
- 44:03Speaker 2: and you know, she's got this Corey Lewandowski with her,
- 44:07Speaker 2: and everybody keeps saying they're sleeping together. They're both married
- 44:10Speaker 2: and having this affair. So the plane with the bedroom,
- 44:13Speaker 2: I don't know, you do the math on that. But
- 44:16Speaker 2: now she's getting hit for spending two hundred and twenty
- 44:19Speaker 2: million dollars of taxpayer funded funds to pay for TV ads.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Now the ads star her, two hundred and twenty million
- 44:28Speaker 2: on ads that feature her. I guess it's making herself
- 44:32Speaker 2: very famous there. When asked about this in the hearings,
- 44:36Speaker 2: she said, well, the President Trump told me to get
- 44:39Speaker 2: the message out to the country and to other countries.
- 44:43Speaker 2: Well that's the message, it's not put your face all
- 44:46Speaker 2: over television. Then well, here she was testifying yesterday about
- 44:50Speaker 2: the shutdown and all that.
- 44:51Speaker 17: The latest Democrat led shutdown of DHS is reckless, it's unnecessary,
- 44:56Speaker 17: and it undermines the American national security, and it harms
- 45:00Speaker 17: the men and women who work at DHS and their families.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Now there's one Democrat, Senator Coons, is going after her
- 45:07Speaker 2: about you know, what if ICE agents showed up at
- 45:10Speaker 2: the polls when it's voting time? What if ICE agents
- 45:14Speaker 2: were there? Of course they could scare away the illegals.
- 45:16Speaker 2: I mean, who else would you be scared of? An
- 45:17Speaker 2: ICE agent?
- 45:18Speaker 14: Now?
- 45:19Speaker 2: But he asked her about this, will.
- 45:20Speaker 14: You rule out the deployment of ICE or CBP to
- 45:24Speaker 14: polling places this November?
- 45:26Speaker 17: There are no plans to have ICE officers at our
- 45:28Speaker 17: polling locations.
- 45:30Speaker 14: And I'm glad you hear that, But would you rule
- 45:32Speaker 14: it out? Would you say it will not happen?
- 45:34Speaker 17: Do you plan on illegal aliens voting in our elections?
- 45:37Speaker 14: Sona, do not?
- 45:38Speaker 2: Okay? All right, that was pretty good. Why would you
- 45:40Speaker 2: be afraid of? I just hope you don't send them.
- 45:43Speaker 2: Why would you hope there's no law enforcement at a
- 45:46Speaker 2: polling place? That doesn't make much sense. It's a little crazy. Hey,
- 45:52Speaker 2: you know, ozempic is more and more. This is not
- 45:54Speaker 2: just ozempic. There's like a bunch of these drugs, they
- 45:56Speaker 2: call them GLP one drugs. It takes away a lot
- 45:59Speaker 2: of your Appithay, you still eat, but you eat a
- 46:01Speaker 2: lot lot less. So restaurants were going nuts because people
- 46:06Speaker 2: there on ozempic and they can't eat that much, so
- 46:10Speaker 2: they don't order as much. It's costing restaurants money. Now
- 46:13Speaker 2: a lot of restaurants started to do a special ozempic
- 46:16Speaker 2: menu where it's small portions. You know, otherwise you order
- 46:20Speaker 2: a whole big entree, you gotta throw away sometimes half
- 46:23Speaker 2: of it, three quarters of it. But the problem with
- 46:25Speaker 2: the ozempic menu, you're gonna get a small portion. You
- 46:28Speaker 2: can't charge as much, you gotta charge less. So it
- 46:30Speaker 2: doesn't really help the restaurant at all. And now bakeries
- 46:34Speaker 2: are complaining. A lot of bakeries in the trist area
- 46:37Speaker 2: they've seen a big drop in business because of this ozempic.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Big Gardland news day to day. Here's a Messina market,
- 46:46Speaker 2: East Norwich, Oyster Bay. I love that Messina market, it's great,
- 46:49Speaker 2: but they own the bakery next door. They said they've
- 46:51Speaker 2: seen a big drop. Here's a couple of bakeries in
- 46:54Speaker 2: Long Island seen a big drop in business. Now some
- 46:57Speaker 2: of them they're gonna do the same thing. They'll sell
- 47:00Speaker 2: little tiny items for the ozmbic people. So you can
- 47:03Speaker 2: buy a tiny croissant, you can buy a tiny donut,
- 47:06Speaker 2: you can buy a little pastry. But again the problem
- 47:09Speaker 2: is you can't charge as much. You got to cut
- 47:12Speaker 2: the price. So it really doesn't help the bakeries. Now,
- 47:15Speaker 2: if you own a bakery, I guess the only going
- 47:18Speaker 2: to tell you is just keep waiting, because once the
- 47:21Speaker 2: side effects from all these drugs start to show up
- 47:24Speaker 2: and hit people less unless people will be taken them. Now,
- 47:27Speaker 2: the ozampic is like twelve hundred dollars a shot, although
- 47:31Speaker 2: President Trump is working on getting that down to five
- 47:34Speaker 2: hundred is shot. It's got side effects. I mean, we've
- 47:41Speaker 2: already seen you get that ozempic face where you everything's
- 47:44Speaker 2: just starts drooping in your face. You can see it.
- 47:46Speaker 2: It's ozembic face. It doesn't look good. Then you got
- 47:49Speaker 2: the apparently there's problems with your teeth from ozambic, all
- 47:53Speaker 2: kinds of teeth problems. So I would wait, you know what,
- 47:56Speaker 2: there's a freeway to lose weight, just eat less you
- 47:59Speaker 2: can actually actually do it. Hey, big announcement this morning,
- 48:02Speaker 2: Curtis Sliwa joining WOOR. He will be co host of
- 48:07Speaker 2: the morning show starting Monday, Curtis six to ten am
- 48:12Speaker 2: on seven ten WOOR Monday through Friday. It all begins
- 48:16Speaker 2: on Monday. He'll be co hosting with Larry Mante.
- 48:19Speaker 6: This is big.
- 48:20Speaker 7: I am coming to the oldest talk radio station continuously
- 48:25Speaker 7: running in New York City and the best talk radio station.
- 48:28Speaker 6: So it doesn't get any better than that.
- 48:30Speaker 7: Joining with you, Larry and the crew there at WOOR,
- 48:33Speaker 7: I come back to what people have been asking me
- 48:36Speaker 7: to do ever since I lost the election on November fourth,
- 48:39Speaker 7: a lot of people said, when are you getting back?
- 48:41Speaker 6: When are you getting back to talk radio?
- 48:43Speaker 2: Well, Monday, Monday, he'll start with Larry Mante. Now, it's
- 48:46Speaker 2: tough to do a morning show. I can't do it.
- 48:49Speaker 2: It's just too tough. You got to get up, like,
- 48:51Speaker 2: I don't know, if it show starts at six, you
- 48:53Speaker 2: got to get up at I don't know, four thirty five. Now,
- 48:56Speaker 2: some of these all these morning guys, you know, they
- 48:58Speaker 2: live way out in the suburbs. They got to get
- 48:59Speaker 2: up at three o'clock and what I mean. I've had
- 49:03Speaker 2: to do a morning show through the years, filling in
- 49:05Speaker 2: a lot of times for Curtis. But if at the
- 49:07Speaker 2: morning show six to ten, I would get there at
- 49:10Speaker 2: six oh four, because you got a newscast to six
- 49:13Speaker 2: oh five. Curtis, if he has a morning show at six,
- 49:17Speaker 2: he'll get there at two. He's the hardest working guy.
- 49:22Speaker 2: In fact, Curtis will sleep at the station. That's how
- 49:25Speaker 2: dedicated he is. But remember, for years he had like
- 49:29Speaker 2: the number one morning show in New York. It was
- 49:31Speaker 2: Curtis and Kooby. We could live without Kobe much better
- 49:35Speaker 2: with Curtis and Larry. And that all starts Monday and
- 49:39Speaker 2: on seven to ten. Wor Hey, we'll take some calls.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Next eight hundred three two one zero seven ten is
- 49:46Speaker 2: the number eight hundred three two one zero seven ten.
- 49:50Speaker 1: He's the Mark Simoon Show on seven ten, wor.
- 49:56Speaker 2: Well, let's take some calls. Let's go to go to
- 50:00Speaker 2: Henry and New Brunswick. Henry, how you.
- 50:02Speaker 18: Doing, Good morning, sir. I want you to know I
- 50:05Speaker 18: am a great fan of your show and your personal opinions.
- 50:09Speaker 18: You are highly affinionated and you don't hold any punches.
- 50:15Speaker 18: I've learned a lot from you, And I'm telling you,
- 50:18Speaker 18: I follow.
- 50:19Speaker 13: Your show religiously.
- 50:20Speaker 18: You give insight into what's going on in the world
- 50:23Speaker 18: that I can't get anywhere else.
- 50:26Speaker 2: You want to borrow money? What is all this flattery about.
- 50:29Speaker 18: I don't appreciate you knocking Kooby.
- 50:34Speaker 2: He's a friend of mine. We're not We're not knocking
- 50:36Speaker 2: ron Koby. It's just he would tragic crazy with the
- 50:40Speaker 2: left wing opinions.
- 50:41Speaker 18: Okay, he he cannot possibly be more annoying than Curtis Sliwa.
- 50:47Speaker 2: Oh no, we love, we love, we love Curtis. We
- 50:49Speaker 2: love Curtis.
- 50:50Speaker 18: When the two of them get together, you're.
- 50:53Speaker 2: A little annoying.
- 50:55Speaker 18: I learned so much from that show. I was so
- 50:57Speaker 18: sorry when ron Koby got off the radio. It's all
- 51:00Speaker 18: I'm saying, the two of them.
- 51:01Speaker 2: I don't know. He's a good guy. We just said,
- 51:03Speaker 2: you know, he think he was like the audience would
- 51:05Speaker 2: go crazy with his left one.
- 51:06Speaker 18: I just I just wanted to make that point. Thank
- 51:09Speaker 18: you very much for taking my car.
- 51:10Speaker 2: All right, thanks for Colin. Let's go to rich In
- 51:12Speaker 2: Myrtle Beach. Rich How you doing.
- 51:15Speaker 15: Hey, Thanks Mark.
- 51:16Speaker 19: You know, the big news last night was Crockett is out,
- 51:19Speaker 19: that kane wielding Green is out, and Ben Crenshaw is
- 51:23Speaker 19: out in their primaries, and I was Ben Crenshaw was
- 51:25Speaker 19: going off the reservation as a Republican. I'm glad he
- 51:29Speaker 19: got primaried out. But you got rid of Crockett. You
- 51:32Speaker 19: got rid of that guy, Al Green or whatever his
- 51:34Speaker 19: name is. The Only problem is they're on our doll
- 51:37Speaker 19: for the rest of their lives with free healthcare and
- 51:39Speaker 19: everything because they did one term in Congress.
- 51:40Speaker 2: It's worth it just to get rid of them. We'll
- 51:44Speaker 2: pay it. If they'll leave, we'll pay their healthcare. Thanks
- 51:47Speaker 2: for Colin. Let's go to h Richard in Bay Shore. Richard,
- 51:50Speaker 2: how you doing.
- 51:52Speaker 12: I'm doing a well fucking morning. Three politicians with zero
- 51:56Speaker 12: military experience, Chuck Schumer, Kim Jeffries, and of course previous
- 52:03Speaker 12: president's name I've forgotten Obama Lincoln served Obama Biden. Lincoln
- 52:10Speaker 12: served in the militia for ninety days, the defeated of
- 52:13Speaker 12: the West Point trained one time Secretary of War Jefferson Davis.
- 52:18Speaker 2: So that's good, very good point. Yeah, there are times
- 52:21Speaker 2: when Democrats get so desperate they'll actually attack somebody. If
- 52:27Speaker 2: a Republican goes to ward, they'll attack them. You never served,
- 52:29Speaker 2: you never served, you never served. They tried this nonsense.
- 52:33Speaker 2: First of all, there hasn't been a draft in a
- 52:36Speaker 2: million years. I think Bill Clinton was the first, I believe,
- 52:41Speaker 2: the first president with no military experience. It like in
- 52:45Speaker 2: our lifetime. But after a certain point, nobody has any
- 52:50Speaker 2: military experience. There was no draft, so nobody served anymore.
- 52:54Speaker 2: I mean, there are people who, thank God, they serve,
- 52:56Speaker 2: but it's this tiny, tiny percentage of population. Now let's
- 52:59Speaker 2: go to in White Plaines, Tony. How you doing it?
- 53:02Speaker 20: Yeah, good morning, Mark. I want to congratulate Curtis Slatto
- 53:07Speaker 20: over there on the other station. He kept saying, well,
- 53:09Speaker 20: where's Curtis?
- 53:10Speaker 6: Now?
- 53:10Speaker 20: Where's he now? Well he's on a good station. W
- 53:13Speaker 20: o R. At least now maybe people could call up
- 53:17Speaker 20: and give their opinion about the election instead. And I'm
- 53:21Speaker 20: cutting them off, and they keep playing Curtis that Curtis
- 53:24Speaker 20: is the reason why Montdomin he got elected. Are you
- 53:27Speaker 20: kidding me? They're the reason from day.
- 53:29Speaker 6: One the problem.
- 53:31Speaker 2: The problem was in that election. I don't know how
- 53:33Speaker 2: this happened. It just there was a book once called
- 53:36Speaker 2: The Madness of Crowds. It was the craziest group think.
- 53:39Speaker 2: They somehow got it through their head that Andrew Cromo
- 53:43Speaker 2: could get elected, which was absolutely insane. The guy just
- 53:46Speaker 2: got run out of office. He just left office in disgrace.
- 53:49Speaker 2: He had a flea allbity, being chased by the police.
- 53:52Speaker 2: I mean, it was just I guess, And if you
- 53:55Speaker 2: waited fifteen years you could run, but two seconds later
- 53:59Speaker 2: you can't run after you just left in disgrace. It
- 54:02Speaker 2: was insane. But they somehow convinced themselves that he actually
- 54:05Speaker 2: had a shot. Even the Democrats wouldn't vote for him.
- 54:08Speaker 2: He lost the primary. If it wasn't for Cuoma, you
- 54:10Speaker 2: wouldn't have Mom Donnie. He chased the Adams out of
- 54:14Speaker 2: the primary. Had Adams been in the primary, he had
- 54:16Speaker 2: a shot at beating Mom Donnie and Curtis had nothing
- 54:19Speaker 2: to do with Cuomo losing. Nothing, absolutely nothing. You can
- 54:23Speaker 2: prove it mathematically. Let's go to Vincent in Brooklyn.
- 54:27Speaker 21: Vincent, how you doing, Good morning, Mack. I'm okay. Most
- 54:31Speaker 21: people don't notice, but Barack Obama destabilized Libya. Libya seventy
- 54:40Speaker 21: years ago was at a colony of Italy, and at
- 54:44Speaker 21: one point I believe it was Kadafi that tried to
- 54:47Speaker 21: take out Ronald Reagan or George Bush. Yes, and they
- 54:50Speaker 21: put a missile in his tent and killed his kid.
- 54:53Speaker 21: And after that he was walking the straight and narrow.
- 54:56Speaker 21: He gave up his missiles and of his really hard
- 55:01Speaker 21: military stuff and he was kind of walking the straight line.
- 55:04Speaker 21: Sure there was a lot of bladder over there. But
- 55:07Speaker 21: I saw on Italian TV when the rebels, actually the
- 55:12Speaker 21: rebels who actually turned out to ruin the country found Kadaffi.
- 55:17Speaker 21: He was hiding in her drainage and they grabbed him.
- 55:23Speaker 21: The crowd was yelling and this and that, and they're
- 55:27Speaker 21: pushing and shoving him along, and all of a sudden
- 55:29Speaker 21: you hear a bullet being fired and they put a
- 55:32Speaker 21: cap in the back of his head. But by it
- 55:34Speaker 21: to that, the terrorists who were in Libya, he kept
- 55:39Speaker 21: them in line. Kadaffi kept them in line. And this
- 55:42Speaker 21: is what I'm going to say, is Vincent's opinion set
- 55:46Speaker 21: money out of this conflict. This is not w wa
- 55:49Speaker 21: this And I know by stocking North American waityar because
- 55:54Speaker 21: as Richuals from South Carolina will tell you, all the
- 55:58Speaker 21: guidance devices in these missiles are made by Ray.
- 56:02Speaker 2: Well, yeah, a lot of there's a lot of uh,
- 56:04Speaker 2: defense contractors. We're gonna have to replace all of the
- 56:07Speaker 2: one of them is Raydon. All right, Vincent, thanks for calling.
- 56:10Speaker 2: We're gonna have to replace all of this stuff. So
- 56:12Speaker 2: defense contractors are going to make a fortune. Hey when
- 56:15Speaker 2: we come back. Steve Cuzo, the great New York Post columnist, Uh,
- 56:19Speaker 2: now is New York dying? Are people moving out? Or
- 56:22Speaker 2: is there everybody leaving? The waiting you hear the actual facts.
- 56:26Speaker 2: We'll get to that next on seven to ten WR.
- 56:29Speaker 1: On sevent ten WR, he's more of the marks Emosia.
- 56:35Speaker 2: Well, let's see how New York is actually doing. The
- 56:38Speaker 2: great columnist, Steve Cuzo, New York Post. Nobody better on
- 56:42Speaker 2: real estate, on restaurants. Steve Cuzo's columns are all in
- 56:46Speaker 2: the New York Post website. You can you can see
- 56:48Speaker 2: them all there. Steve Cuzo, how you doing?
- 56:51Speaker 8: Hey, good morning, Mark, Good thank you. No.
- 56:53Speaker 2: So every time I turn on, somebody's that's it. Everybody's
- 56:56Speaker 2: leaving New York. Everybody's moving, everybody's what's the truth.
- 57:00Speaker 8: Yeah, nobody's leading.
- 57:01Speaker 22: I don't know anybody who's leaving all my friends are
- 57:04Speaker 22: trying to get back to town. They're stuck in Palm Beach,
- 57:07Speaker 22: problems with the planes, all that kind of stuff.
- 57:11Speaker 8: So no, nobody's leaving. It's all boloney.
- 57:15Speaker 22: And in fact, if you look around, there's more real
- 57:19Speaker 22: estate investment than ever. I read that there's a couple
- 57:23Speaker 22: of apartments or townhouses on the Upper east Side that
- 57:27Speaker 22: sold for crazy numbers. So there's almost no office space
- 57:33Speaker 22: left because.
- 57:34Speaker 8: The company companies are are.
- 57:36Speaker 22: Expanding, signing new leases, and there's new and there's.
- 57:40Speaker 8: New construction going on.
- 57:42Speaker 22: And the big best news of all for the city
- 57:45Speaker 22: is that American Express AMEX announced last week they're building
- 57:51Speaker 22: a new building at the World Trade Center to be
- 57:53Speaker 22: their headquarters. You know, there's a site called Tower two
- 57:58Speaker 22: or two World Trade Center that was never.
- 58:01Speaker 8: Developed after nine to eleven.
- 58:03Speaker 22: The other buildings went up, but that corner Fulton and
- 58:07Speaker 22: the Church Street has been empty. It's like it's being
- 58:10Speaker 22: used as a beer garden and an art installation. And
- 58:14Speaker 22: Larry Silverstein, the developer, is going to build this new beautiful,
- 58:19Speaker 22: twelve hundred foot tall skyscraper for MX, which is going
- 58:23Speaker 22: to move from where they currently are right nearby, and
- 58:28Speaker 22: it's an extraordinary thing. It's confidence in the city and
- 58:32Speaker 22: it's also reflects you know, it's it finally completes the
- 58:36Speaker 22: World Trade Center. A quarter century after nine to eleven,
- 58:41Speaker 22: we're finally going.
- 58:42Speaker 8: To get the last piece of the puzzle. That's great news.
- 58:45Speaker 2: How old is Larry Silverstein got to be in his nineties,
- 58:48Speaker 2: ninety four, and he's going to build a.
- 58:50Speaker 8: Sky spry he's very spry.
- 58:53Speaker 22: Well, he's not going to be down on his hands
- 58:54Speaker 22: and knees, you know, he's not going to be wielding
- 58:58Speaker 22: a shovel.
- 59:00Speaker 2: When you're the builder, you're in there fighting with unions
- 59:02Speaker 2: and arguing everybody.
- 59:04Speaker 22: Actually, you know, Silverstein has very good relationships with the
- 59:07Speaker 22: construction unions. Not all developers use union labor. He does,
- 59:12Speaker 22: and it's it's never been a problem. And I suspect
- 59:16Speaker 22: that whenever they schedule a groundbreaking, likely in the next
- 59:20Speaker 22: quite soon, within the next few months, you'll see Larry
- 59:23Speaker 22: Silverstein there, you know, for the photo op with the shovel.
- 59:27Speaker 2: Yeah, well, good for him. So I also notice there's
- 59:31Speaker 2: buildings going There's like a huge skyscraper going up at
- 59:35Speaker 2: fifty eighth in Madison. There's one going up at Park Avenue,
- 59:38Speaker 2: and fifty second. There's yeah, dozens of these planned.
- 59:42Speaker 22: So there are two of them on Madison Avenue. One
- 59:45Speaker 22: is at like roughly fifty eighth Street. The other is
- 59:48Speaker 22: two or three blocks north. Developers are Extel and related
- 59:54Speaker 22: companies and the ones, you know, the round has been excavated.
- 1:00:01Speaker 22: The other is I think beginning construction, and there'll be
- 1:00:05Speaker 22: new combination condo apartments, uh, some office space, partly hotels,
- 1:00:12Speaker 22: and of course a lot of retail because it's Madison Avenue,
- 1:00:16Speaker 22: you know, the world's greatest shopping boulevard.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Yeah. So these are the smartest real estate guys in
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: the world, these companies what they wouldn't be building here
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: if they had any doubt about New York having a
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: big future.
- 1:00:28Speaker 8: Even with Mom down it's so true, even with Mum.
- 1:00:32Speaker 22: It'll be interesting if he shows up for the groundbreaking
- 1:00:35Speaker 22: of the Amex tower. But yes, they are among the
- 1:00:39Speaker 22: smartest people in the world.
- 1:00:41Speaker 8: You don't hear.
- 1:00:41Speaker 22: About as you read about in Miami sometimes La even
- 1:00:46Speaker 22: in London sometimes about excuse me, developers that over they're
- 1:00:53Speaker 22: over leveraged. They borrowed too much money, the demand wasn't
- 1:00:57Speaker 22: there for their product, and so their buildings go into
- 1:01:00Speaker 22: foreclosure and they have to get failed by the banks.
- 1:01:03Speaker 22: I mean, this happens in New York, as it does everywhere,
- 1:01:05Speaker 22: but not at the highest level, which is very impressive.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Wow. Hey, So I remember after nine to eleven, everybody said, well,
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: nobody will ever go downtown again, nobody will ever open downtown.
- 1:01:15Speaker 8: Of course, that's nobody. Cities were going to be dead.
- 1:01:19Speaker 22: Remember, not just New York, but cities are dead because
- 1:01:22Speaker 22: there's too much of a threat to of terrorism everywhere,
- 1:01:25Speaker 22: and nobody's going to want to be concentrated in a
- 1:01:28Speaker 22: small area. And you know we laughed at that. We
- 1:01:31Speaker 22: didn't laugh, so it was taken seriously at the time.
- 1:01:33Speaker 22: I never believed that. And then you have other catastrophes
- 1:01:37Speaker 22: of the lesser order. You had Hurricane Sandy, you had
- 1:01:40Speaker 22: the Wall Street crash of what is it eight I think,
- 1:01:45Speaker 22: and when you had a lot of companies have to
- 1:01:48Speaker 22: contract their space, and of course the worst of all,
- 1:01:51Speaker 22: which was the pandemic.
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: Yeah, and then they said, nobody will ever go back
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: to work in an office.
- 1:01:57Speaker 22: Nobody's ever going back to work in the office.
- 1:01:59Speaker 6: Is it's over.
- 1:02:01Speaker 8: And even some very smart people believe that. I never did.
- 1:02:04Speaker 22: Yeah, maybe I'm not one of the smart ones, but
- 1:02:07Speaker 22: look what's happened. You can't move in midtown?
- 1:02:10Speaker 8: Excuse me? It's so full of life and.
- 1:02:15Speaker 22: There's very little, as I mentioned, very little office space
- 1:02:17Speaker 22: still available because demand is so high.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: Wow. So uh now what about restaurants? You still got?
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Every time I turn around, there's another big restaurant opening.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: So obviously, yeah, demand is there.
- 1:02:32Speaker 8: Demand is there.
- 1:02:33Speaker 22: And the funniest thing is that if you read the
- 1:02:36Speaker 22: you know, the food media, the blogs and all this stuff,
- 1:02:39Speaker 22: all they write.
- 1:02:39Speaker 8: About is vegan vegan veganness.
- 1:02:42Speaker 22: Obscure cuisine combinations, you know, Mexican, Malaysia, and all these
- 1:02:47Speaker 22: kind of crazy things. But what people really want is steak.
- 1:02:52Speaker 22: And so right now I think there are probably more
- 1:02:55Speaker 22: steakhouses in the city than.
- 1:02:56Speaker 8: There ever were, more new.
- 1:02:58Speaker 22: Ones I just read in the last I'm so sorry
- 1:03:01Speaker 22: the last few days, last few days. There's a new hotel,
- 1:03:05Speaker 22: a Kimpton Hotel right near my office on West forty
- 1:03:08Speaker 22: eighth Street, which is developed by Extel, and that hotel
- 1:03:12Speaker 22: is going to have four restaurants or three restaurants in
- 1:03:14Speaker 22: a lounge, and one of the restaurants is Roco de Spirito.
- 1:03:18Speaker 22: You know the great Italian American chef. But the other
- 1:03:21Speaker 22: is a big steak, a Latin steakhouse. I don't remember
- 1:03:24Speaker 22: the name, but there you go, another steakhouse. And then
- 1:03:27Speaker 22: I read that there's another steakhouse which I can't recall
- 1:03:31Speaker 22: the name of.
- 1:03:31Speaker 8: There were just so darn many.
- 1:03:33Speaker 22: On near Eighth Avenue or on eighth Avenue in Midtown.
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: The appetite is insatiable for red meat.
- 1:03:41Speaker 22: And it's remarkable because the price of beef at the
- 1:03:44Speaker 22: wholesale level has gone up enormously over the last ten years.
- 1:03:49Speaker 22: Anyone in the business will will explain that the herds,
- 1:03:54Speaker 22: for various reasons, the herds at the large ranches to
- 1:03:59Speaker 22: be reduced in numbers, so there was less supply. At
- 1:04:03Speaker 22: the same time, there was still this insatiable demand, so
- 1:04:08Speaker 22: prices have gone up. Other prices have come down, the
- 1:04:11Speaker 22: price of chicken, the price price.
- 1:04:13Speaker 8: Of eggs has come down.
- 1:04:15Speaker 22: But for people who love meat, red meat, none.
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: Of it seems to make a difference.
- 1:04:21Speaker 22: Steakhouses open and they put there like palladinos or I'm happy,
- 1:04:26Speaker 22: happy to be going. This evening has great steak, and
- 1:04:31Speaker 22: the prices are gone up, but only a little, not
- 1:04:33Speaker 22: that much.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: Yeah, when you go to a restaurant in the steakhouse
- 1:04:37Speaker 2: and it's eighty dollars for the steak, they're paying like
- 1:04:39Speaker 2: seventy eight dollars for the steak. It's not that they're
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: trying to get.
- 1:04:42Speaker 8: They're not gouging. They're not gouging at all.
- 1:04:45Speaker 22: And you know, they restaurants are very, very creative people.
- 1:04:49Speaker 22: They have to adapt and so you know, they can
- 1:04:51Speaker 22: tweak their menus, they can tweak their labor costs to
- 1:04:54Speaker 22: an extent, and somehow they always come through.
- 1:04:59Speaker 8: You know, after a nightmare of the pandemic, when.
- 1:05:03Speaker 22: Restaurants literally in New York City had to close, and
- 1:05:07Speaker 22: then when they were allowed.
- 1:05:08Speaker 8: To reopen, they were reopened.
- 1:05:11Speaker 22: In this grudging way, you know, only serving on the street,
- 1:05:15Speaker 22: limited capacity.
- 1:05:16Speaker 8: Everybody had to wear masks. You remember, we all had
- 1:05:18Speaker 8: to go to restaurants. You how to have your temperature taken.
- 1:05:21Speaker 8: Do you remember that?
- 1:05:24Speaker 22: And so how if an industry, a business that can
- 1:05:28Speaker 22: survive that kind of collective trauma can survive anything. You know,
- 1:05:34Speaker 22: an incidental increase in the price of steak is not
- 1:05:38Speaker 22: going to make a difference.
- 1:05:39Speaker 2: Yeah, well, Steve Cuzo, we're out of time. But if
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: you want to read some great columns or restaurants about
- 1:05:44Speaker 2: real estate, about New York, Steve Cuzou New York Post website.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: You can get all his columns there. Steve Cuzo in
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: the New York Post. Steve Cuzo, great stuff. Thanks for
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: being with us.
- 1:05:55Speaker 8: Thank you. Mark always fun.
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: Take care. Yeah, so that's true at the stake. You know,
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: if it's eighty dollars the restaurant, it's like seventy eight
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: to them. They're not even making a profit. In fact,
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: they only make the profit on the side dish. If
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: you ordered broccoli, it's like fifteen dollars and it cost
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: them twelve cents. So if you don't order a side dish,
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: they go crazy. Anyway, don't forget Buck and Clay. They'll
- 1:06:18Speaker 2: be here right after the news at twelve noon with
- 1:06:20Speaker 2: an excellent show. And I don't know if you heard
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: Curtis Sliwa beginning Monday, he'll be co hosting the Morning
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: Show with Larry every day starting Monday here on seven
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: ten WR in.
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: Mark on Demand by setting a preset for his podcast
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: on the iHeartRadio app. Now back to Mark Simon on woar.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: Well, Hey, Chuck Schumer, calls it the Endless War. It's
- 1:06:48Speaker 2: five days now, five days, and we've made incredible progress.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: We've now eliminated seventy five percent of their offensive capability.
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: We've completely eliminated the RAN now longer no longer has
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: an air force. We elimined it. They no longer have
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: a navy. We've eliminated it. The last great the moment
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: was they had their biggest warship, the Solomony. Remember that
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: was the terrorist Trump took out in his first term.
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: And they had the Solomony, big Iranian warship in the
- 1:07:17Speaker 2: Indian Ocean and US submarine blew it up and destroyed
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: it yesterday. So they are completely without an air force,
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: have absolutely no navy, lost all their offensive capability. By
- 1:07:28Speaker 2: the end of the week, it'll be one hundred percent gone.
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: And things are going pretty well, very well. Hey, we're
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: out of time. In case you missed the big news,
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: Curtis Sliwa begins here on Monday. He'll be co hosting
- 1:07:41Speaker 2: the morning show to be Larry Minty and Curtis Slewa
- 1:07:44Speaker 2: every morning six to ten. It all starts on Monday.
- 1:07:48Speaker 2: I'll be here ten to noon every day. And remember,
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: if you can't listen ten to noon. You can hear
- 1:07:54Speaker 2: the show anytime you want, day or night. You can
- 1:07:57Speaker 2: just get the podcast any place you get podcasts bowl.
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: iHeart wherever this podcast you'll find this show Otherwise. I'll
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: see you tomorrow at ten right here on seven ten
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: w
