- 3:19we did this last week. It's a new segment.
- 3:20We call this Speedy's 6 Pack of the Week.
- 3:25Let's have a sixer. Hey, who wants to play Drink the
- 3:28Beer? It's time for the Speedy 6 pack
- 3:31of the week. Speedy is sit sitting here right
- 3:37now with A6 pack. Playing with himself.
- 3:39Stats and information about the Stanley Cup Final.
- 3:43Rim job. Rim job.
- 3:45And some about the game that's going on right now, currently 1,
- 3:48nothing Panthers about 6 minutes left.
- 3:51First, Speedy, we're going to give, you're going to give us 33
- 3:55facts about Game 3 and then we're going to have a chance to
- 3:59comment about them. Here we go, all.
- 4:01Right, so before. I #6.
- 4:04Before I get to that, Nathan, I'm going to put a puff plug on
- 4:06your mouth if there's any more comments in the private chat
- 4:08about what you just commented about.
- 4:10But let's start with some penalty numbers, because there
- 4:13are a lot of them in game #3 the Oilers had 21 penalties for 85
- 4:18penalty minutes combined. 8 different players were
- 4:20penalized, second most ever for one team, and the fourth most
- 4:24ever in one Stanley Cup game as far as a total myth.
- 4:26And actually, it wasn't even the most recently 2.
- 4:28Florida and Vegas had won in Game 2 where there were 95 total
- 4:31penalty minutes. So the Oilers, the Panthers are
- 4:34definitely used to it, but it's much more of the Oilers in this
- 4:36game as Evander Kane led the bunch in that.
- 4:39That one is number six. We'll go to #5. #5.
- 4:42The Panthers won game three six to one despite being out shot in
- 4:47the game 33 to 31, which is the third largest margin in NBN NHL
- 4:52history for a team that got out shot.
- 4:54The 1991 Penguins actually have their record.
- 4:57They won the game 8 nothing and they were outshot 31 to 28.
- 5:00And then the Bruins against the Canucks, this was actually a
- 5:03bigger 1. The Canucks outshot them by 7,
- 5:05but the Bruins won the game 8 to 1.
- 5:08And that one. #4. And the last one we got for this
- 5:12game in the modern era, Game 3 success rate, that does not
- 5:16necessarily correlate as much as winning game 1-2 or four in the
- 5:20salary cap era. So since 2005, teams to go on to
- 5:23win in game three only win the Stanley Cup 42.1% of the time
- 5:27and since 1967 they have only won 62.5% of the time.
- 5:32That's post original 6 era. All right, time to comment,
- 5:36Errol. Well, I I'm not a statistician,
- 5:40I will say this, but it it's pretty simple.
- 5:43Florida has been sensational in this series and we'll see how
- 5:47Edmonton works their their magic in this series.
- 5:50If they don't, it could be A5 game series.
- 5:54I, I, I could see this series going in five.
- 5:57I I really do. Florida is just that good and
- 6:00they're just so talented offensively.
- 6:02They're good on all four lines. We all know what Connor McDavid
- 6:05is. He's a sensational player.
- 6:07He's the best player in the world, Tri Sidle, but two
- 6:09players can't beat a whole team as good as Edmonton has been all
- 6:13season long. And they got a good young coach
- 6:15who's one of the more talented hockey minds we've seen in a
- 6:19very, you know, remember Mark Crawford with the Colorado
- 6:23Avalanche? Just coach ever to win a Stanley
- 6:24Cup. Remember that 96 when they won
- 6:26the Stanley Cup and they beat the Florida Panthers and John
- 6:28Van Biekerk? That's what Knob Block reminds
- 6:31me of. But I think he's just a better
- 6:33version of him. He, he's a great 2 dimensional
- 6:36mind that the NHL and the Rangers missed and that's why
- 6:40he's winning right now with the Edmonton Oilers as he's gone
- 6:43back-to-back years to a Stanley Cup finals and the Rangers
- 6:46haven't been to a Stanley Cup finals since what, 2014?
- 6:50I mean, I, I, I rest my case. The Rangers are a stupid
- 6:53organization. So I I'm just speaking the
- 6:56truth. How did we get to the Rangers
- 6:58being a stupid? Organization because they have
- 7:00not we're. Going to get to them later.
- 7:01They have not. No, we will.
- 7:03But there's plenty to say about the Rangers being stupid.
- 7:06And not block. That's all I'm going to say.
- 7:08And they parted ways with them. Well, I remember the Rangers
- 7:10facing this Florida team last year, and I couldn't get over
- 7:14how annoying it was to play that team.
- 7:16Look at this fight. This is Sam Bennett that just
- 7:19showed you the shift he had doing everything and ended with
- 7:22a breakaway goal. What happened almost immediately
- 7:24after that? Oh, slash him, start a huge
- 7:27fight. They go on the power play again,
- 7:30and then they capitalize again. And this game.
- 7:34Don't like? How to play against this team
- 7:37and teams have hated playing the Panthers because of how they
- 7:40play. They grind out all four lines.
- 7:43Now they have Marshawn on the team that it's just another guy
- 7:46like that who's an elite at being that, you know just tough
- 7:50guy. You always want like one or two
- 7:51guys like that on your squad. They've got like 6 and like
- 7:55three of them have elite skill. It's crazy how good they if.
- 7:57Marner goes to the Boston Bruins in the offseason.
- 8:03Marshawn will be a free agent. That's where he goes back.
- 8:06He goes back with the Bruins. I, I do believe that it's
- 8:08Mourner wherever he goes. He's not staying with Toronto.
- 8:12I, I I. Was here to see the Bruins or
- 8:14Vegas. Probably the favorite.
- 8:15I I could see the Islanders too. I think the Islanders will make
- 8:17a run with them too. If they just have some cap room.
- 8:21I don't think the Rangers have enough cap room to get him he's
- 8:24going to want. They do now.
- 8:25He's going to want 12 million. What?
- 8:26How? They got 15 right now.
- 8:29We'll talk about in a second, Speedy. #3.
- 8:33All right, so this one is 4 game this game, game 4 going on right
- 8:36now. This is how much the Panthers
- 8:38have dominated so far. They have the Edmonton Oilers
- 8:41have more block shots 8 than they do shots on goal 5.
- 8:44Florida between the block shots and the shots on goal have
- 8:48outshot Edmonton by 21 to 8 so far in this game.
- 8:53So that's number one. Number two, I've got this out
- 8:57of. Fact I need #2 I'll get used.
- 8:59To. That my rear end is burning.
- 9:01So it's not Aaron Ekblad that actually is either second or not
- 9:04even second in ice time right now among defenseman for the
- 9:07Florida Panthers. That's how efficient that
- 9:08they've been. Seth Jones actually leads in the
- 9:09total ice time right now. And then Nico Mikola, Rangers
- 9:12legend, another one is second right now.
- 9:15So they're actually doing well amidst leaving Ekblad on the
- 9:18bench a little more often. And then on the flip side for
- 9:21Edmonton, less of their their top defense that are playing as
- 9:24much guys like Darnell Nurse less ice time in this game and
- 9:27Bouchard less ice time in this game, then break Kulak and Jake
- 9:31Waldman. So maybe Noblet's got to make a
- 9:33couple of adjustments here at this point.
- 9:37Number one. And we rounded out with the goal
- 9:40scorer, the lone goal scorer in this game, Matthew Kachuk, who
- 9:43like Gary was saying on Monday, has not had the greatest Stanley
- 9:46Cup so far. But it's not even the longest
- 9:48drop that he's had this post season.
- 9:49He did not score a single goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs,
- 9:52and that's currently his longest playoff drought record. 9 games
- 9:56in a row that he had without a goal, breaking his previous
- 9:59record where he's tied for seven, seven in a row on two
- 10:02different. Occasions.
- 10:04When he was with the Flames and his first year with the Florida
- 10:06Panthers. Bonus Rangers thing.
- 10:10Bonus Rangers thing. The deal has been done.
- 10:13We were talking about it maybe being rumored Chris Kreider is
- 10:16on his way to. Rangers.
- 10:18The new Rangers W the Anaheim Ducks, joining Jacob Truba, Ryan
- 10:23Ryan Strom and Frank Petrano out there with the Anaheim Ducks.
- 10:27And I was talking with you Fish before, maybe, maybe they might
- 10:30as well get a Gerard Gallant over there as an assistant coach
- 10:32at this point. You might as well they get the
- 10:342022 Rangers reassembled altogether and recreate
- 10:37something in Anaheim with that young team over there.
- 10:42Better than this year's version, Harold got anything on tonight's
- 10:46game four in the rest of the series?
- 10:48Yeah, Florida wins tonight. They win in five.
- 10:51It looks like the series is pretty much over.
- 10:53I I can't see Edmonton coming back.
- 10:55I think Florida showed you why they're dominant.
- 10:58It shows you why they won last year.
- 11:00And I think they're going to show you why they're going to
- 11:02win back to backs. And it might even win next year
- 11:04because they have a ton of talent still on this team and on
- 11:07this roster. And I don't think they're losing
- 11:09any of this talent in the offseason.
- 11:11I think they're all under contract.
- 11:12The only one that's questionable, I think is
- 11:14Bennett. Yeah, but I don't think it makes
- 11:16a difference. Their stars and all their their
- 11:18top players are still going to be there next year.
- 11:20And except maybe Bob Rodski, he could retire.
- 11:23I mean, obviously he's 3839 years old.
- 11:26What more does he need to do? That's that's the question.
- 11:29Does he need to, does he want to come back and win back-to-back
- 11:33to back? I don't think we've seen an NHL
- 11:35team do that. So I don't think.
- 11:36This is the original. Yeah, I don't think we've seen a
- 11:38A-Team 3 peat it. So maybe Bob Rodski comes back
- 11:41next year if Florida wins to try to do something that we have not
- 11:45seen. So maybe that happens.
- 11:47I think. I think obviously the Florida
- 11:50Panthers have been the most dominant team for the last three
- 11:53years, even three years, even when they didn't win with the
- 11:57talent that they put together and and really instilled through
- 12:00the draft. It's been amazing story.
- 12:02Congratulations to the Florida Panthers and all their success
- 12:05so. So Crider, that was the the
- 12:08story why they have all this. They got rid of Crider, they got
- 12:11rid of the entire cap charge. So they have 15,000,000 of cap.
- 12:16So 15,000,000 would be enough to get Marner.
- 12:19They're also going to try to trade Zabana Jed.
- 12:21They're going to blow the whole thing up.
- 12:23Why would they get Marner when they have the same player in
- 12:26Panera that why do they need him?
- 12:29Well, you put him on. He's not going to the Rangers.
- 12:31Play the same. Stop with this.
- 12:33He's not going to the Rangers. He's not.
- 12:35I don't know. I don't know.
- 12:36But look, regardless of what that is, it's allowed the
- 12:40Rangers now to have the flexibility to make major moves
- 12:42this offseason. Crider was the Rangers heart and
- 12:46soul for the last decade. 13 years was at speedy that.
- 12:50Came up during the 2012 playoffs when they play.
- 12:53Remember that. It was the round before they
- 12:55played I think. They played Washington.
- 12:56I think they have a better chance of getting Sidney Crosby
- 12:59or Malkin than getting something.
- 13:01You really think they're going? To go anywhere?
- 13:03Why not? Why not?
- 13:05Why not? I think I would expect.
- 13:06Malkin to go back to Russia or something?
- 13:08No, I think Malkin somewhere else, Kovalchuk did it.
- 13:11Everybody thought Kovalchuk wasn't going to leave and he had
- 13:14such a successful career. And I think the same thing with
- 13:17Malkin. I think Malkin will eventually
- 13:19go Yamir Yager. He he weighed out his welcome
- 13:22over there with the with the Penguins.
- 13:24And then he was a he moved from team to team to team taking as
- 13:28much money as he possibly can. I'm not saying that's who Malkin
- 13:31is, but I could see Malkin going to the Rangers.
- 13:34Why not? If they If the Rangers are
- 13:36missing one forward or one offensive forward, it makes more
- 13:40sense from Malkin than Moner. You do not need another Panarin
- 13:43on your roster, and that's what he is.
- 13:46And he's going to want 12 or 13 million.
- 13:48You're going to tell me you're going to give a goalie
- 13:5011,000,000, you're going to give Marner 12 million and you're
- 13:53going to give Panera and almost 11 and a half million.
- 13:56Does that make sense that you're going to give three players
- 13:59almost more than 1/4 of your team's money?
- 14:02Doesn't make sense. That's why I don't think Marner
- 14:04is going to the Rangers. I think they're going to split
- 14:06that up and if they want to spend the money, but I'm not
- 14:10going to bet on Chris Jerry because that guy's a complete
- 14:12moron. So I think you'll absolutely
- 14:15screw this up for the New York Rangers, so.
- 14:18Could Chuck just got his second goal of the night by the.
- 14:20Way yeah, I'm watching it. We have it on right now.
- 14:22So by the way, am I right about this this stream?
- 14:25This is much better. No freezing, no nothing, and
- 14:28we're right on target, ladies and gentlemen right on target.
- 14:32Anyways, before we get our guest and we go to our our sports
- 14:35minute, I want to tell you what my deuce of the day is.
- 14:38The deuce of the day. You log, not a log.
- 14:42I don't have a log, but no. Oh my deuce of the day goes to
- 14:54why shouldn't it be Aaron Rodgers as a story came out over
- 14:59the last 24 to 48 hours. Aaron Rodgers got married before
- 15:04he decided to sign his contract with the Steelers.
- 15:06That's why he took all this time to figure out if he wanted to
- 15:11come back. And, and what's makes the story
- 15:13even more funnier is no, nobody knows who she is except her
- 15:17first name. And her first name is Brittany.
- 15:19Nobody knows who she is. There's no pictures all over
- 15:22social media. As far as I'm concerned, Aaron
- 15:25Rodgers married his hand and he named it Brittany.
- 15:28OK, that's what I think. Aaron Rodgers is not married.
- 15:33And for anybody to believe that he married somebody with the
- 15:36name Brittany, he married his hand.
- 15:38And he's playing with himself right now.
- 15:39You should know of Brittany though.
- 15:41Well, I do I'm I'm dating one anyways.
- 15:44My deuce of the day goes to Aaron Rodgers and his freaking
- 15:47hand, Brittany. Congratulations to his marriage.
- 15:50I wonder if he's wearing a ring on that hand when he throws a
- 15:53football. That's my deuce of the day,
- 15:55ladies and gentlemen. All right, ladies and gentlemen.
- 15:59So there you go. And now we have the NFL
- 16:03offseason, as we call this the whip around.
- 16:09Whip, whip, whip around. Oh, we haven't done the whip
- 16:13around in a long, long time. And now, ladies and gentlemen,
- 16:16the NFL is here. Chika, chika, chika, chika,
- 16:19chika, chika, chika, chika, chika, chika.
- 16:21OTAs have begun. And ladies and gentlemen, Aaron
- 16:25Rodgers married his hands, so congratulations to him.
- 16:28Brittany has now his own ring. Hopefully it's his throwing arm
- 16:33because if it's his left arm then we got a problem.
- 16:38Well, you took the Thunder out of my last story because it is
- 16:41the Aaron Rodgers marriage. So we can bring it up one more
- 16:45time in a second. But the first one is the picture
- 16:48I have. Guys, this has been going on for
- 16:52months with Trey Hendrickson. We understand a guy that's, you
- 16:55know, going into his 30s, maybe they're going to play a little
- 16:58hardball with him, but with their first round pick that's
- 17:02supposed to either replace him or play opposite of them.
- 17:05They're also trying to put language into the contract,
- 17:08Errol, that would make it. You know, we'd have to
- 17:11accomplish a bunch of things or else he'd lose out on some money
- 17:14that's supposed to be guaranteed.
- 17:16Usually these rookie contracts are not hard to negotiate
- 17:19because they're kind of structured.
- 17:21Yet the Bengals and their ownership just keep doing this.
- 17:25And let's face it, what was the problem last year?
- 17:28Defense, what do you think about?
- 17:31Oh, well, it's pretty simple. Hendrickson should have been
- 17:34signed by the Bengals. It makes no sense.
- 17:36The organization is obviously telling the offensive side of
- 17:40the ball. We all know they have a love
- 17:42fest for Joe Burrow. It maybe they do and that's why
- 17:45they gave Higgins and they gave Jamar Chase the contract.
- 17:48And Hendrickson right now is is looking to maybe go to the
- 17:50Eagles to somebody of that magnitude.
- 17:52The problem right now with the NFL is they listen too much to
- 17:57the quarterbacks. The quarterbacks are the prima
- 17:59Donna and whatever the quarterbacks you would think
- 18:02that the coach has to say and the GM has to say no.
- 18:05If our star quarterback wants this guy, if our star
- 18:08quarterback wants that guy, that's what they do.
- 18:10They RIP it and they stick it. And to me, it's an absolute
- 18:14shame. As far as Devante Adams over
- 18:17here and I see you, he's. Hold on, let's get Speedy on
- 18:19this one and then we're going to get into the Devante and we'll
- 18:22go one by one on them. Yeah, it's.
- 18:23Hypocritical the the impact that you want to have, you want to
- 18:26build up more like depth. Also remember, it's not just
- 18:30Henderson to Hubbard retire. Is that your cucumber or are you
- 18:32happy to see like? Accumulating multiple guys as a
- 18:35result. They're just, they're doing
- 18:36everything wrong in this process.
- 18:37And Fitch, you and I both are not crazy about Stewart.
- 18:39It's a prospect anyway. And now they're just making it
- 18:41worse. Stewart had 4.5 sacks Errol in
- 18:45three seasons at Texas A&M. He is a project to say the least
- 18:52as a pass rusher. He's a good run stopper, but he
- 18:54is not a pass rusher currently. They're opposite the end like
- 18:58you said, Sam Hubbard retired and they're playing hardball
- 19:01with Trey Hendrickson, who was a first team All Pro this year
- 19:04with his 2nd consecutive 17 1/2 sack season.
- 19:08Makes no sense by the. Way you would think, no brainer,
- 19:10right? Yeah, it doesn't make it no
- 19:11brainer. You keep your first team all
- 19:13pro. I mean, the Giants didn't keep.
- 19:16Who was it? Saquon Barkley?
- 19:18Oh yeah. Just give away guys like that.
- 19:21Great idea. Oh, you just took it out of my
- 19:23mouth. The Giants are a stupid
- 19:24organization. Right?
- 19:26Again, thank you. Go ahead.
- 19:27Sorry. It wasn't the only first team
- 19:30old pro they gave up. They also lost that McKinney who
- 19:32became a first team old pro as well.
- 19:34So I don't know what they're doing speedy.
- 19:38I don't know how they get a winning record with this defense
- 19:40that they have. You need to have pass rushers or
- 19:42your corners have to cover for. 7-8 seconds every play.
- 19:46And their corners ain't that good.
- 19:48So what? This is not a team that's going
- 19:51to be able to win. I would definitely take the over
- 19:53the first couple of weeks of the seasons for the Bengals because
- 19:56that's going to be high scoring. Let's move on.
- 19:59Devante Adams Errol rejuvenated by Rams culture, commenting
- 20:07earlier in the day, or maybe it was, I think it was yesterday,
- 20:10Ram Jam saying that now that he's with the Rams, he's
- 20:13spending the offseason around McVeigh and.
- 20:15Ram Jam. He's rejuvenated by the new
- 20:19atmosphere opposed to what he dealt with last year with the
- 20:23Raiders and The Jets. Ram Jam doesn't surprise me with
- 20:29all the stories we hear about Woody Johnson, Rick Johnson and
- 20:33the fam going through. I was waiting for you to bring
- 20:36this organization up. Go.
- 20:39Ahead, keep one good turn deserves another, my friend.
- 20:42Spit it out. You tell me, is there any
- 20:46validity to the fact that he may be rejuvenated and back to being
- 20:50a first team, second team all prototype player?
- 20:53Oh, he's rejuvenated all right. He's rejuvenated to get the hell
- 20:56out of the NFLII Think Devante Adams is a great player.
- 20:59He had a good season with the The Jets.
- 21:01When he went to The Jets, he wasn't that bad.
- 21:02He put up good numbers. He is going with Matthew
- 21:05Stafford. He is going to an organization
- 21:07that's won over the last five years.
- 21:09Good for them. The fact is right now, Matthew
- 21:12Stafford is one hit away from being an invalid, that that's
- 21:16the facts. OK, take that and sell it
- 21:19whatever way you want to sell it.
- 21:20They don't really have a backup quarterback.
- 21:22They have a rookie backing him up right now.
- 21:24And you're looking at a team that if they lose Matthew
- 21:27Stafford at any point this season, you're going to hear
- 21:29Devante Adams saying, OK, send me to Pittsburgh.
- 21:33I want to go play with Harry Rodgers.
- 21:35It is an absolute joke. And by the way, I I I love you,
- 21:39Devante. I don't know you personally, and
- 21:41I'm great. I'm grateful for you to even
- 21:43wear The Jets green and white. Nobody gave a crap that you were
- 21:47here. The only reason why you wanted
- 21:49to come here is because you wanted to play with your buck
- 21:51buddy, Aaron Rodgers. And now Aaron Rodgers married
- 21:54his hand and he's playing with himself over there.
- 21:57And he named it Brittany. If you want if if you want to
- 22:00use, if you want to use your hand, you want to rub them out.
- 22:04You're more than welcome. We'll name your hand Stephanie.
- 22:07OK. I don't give over crap what
- 22:09you're doing with the Rams. The Rams aren't winning the
- 22:12Super Bowl. The Rams.
- 22:13The Rams are going to make the playoffs, but they'll probably
- 22:16lose against Detroit. Again, they're not a good
- 22:18organization. They're not very well run.
- 22:21As much as everybody likes Sean McVay, I think they're just a
- 22:24team. That's another overrated wannabe
- 22:28team that is one play away from Matthew Stafford's career.
- 22:33Yeah, Devante Adams obviously getting out of Josh McDaniels
- 22:35toxicity. He was the worst coach in the
- 22:38NFL when he was there and that Raiders organization which has
- 22:41clearly not worked for anybody. And then going over to The Jets
- 22:44or maybe look like a lot more stable compared to the Raiders,
- 22:47but still not ideal where you want to be coached by Bambi,
- 22:49Sala and Stephanie by Woody Joslin.
- 22:51Right his hand, Stephanie. Right grab on, Sir.
- 22:54Pull the chick. Jabba you think Devante Adams
- 22:56going to get back to being an All pro type player, but that
- 23:01Stafford? I honestly don't know because
- 23:05it's it's it depends on if he's vested into it or not or if he
- 23:09just says he wants to. I don't know if he really is.
- 23:14And it'll be interesting to see if he actually like, because
- 23:19when you when you come into like a new culture, supposedly Shut
- 23:26up, Nathan. You got to cut that one, Tommy.
- 23:39But if you don't like embed in it and you're just like saying
- 23:43it to say it, I don't think you really can like you like it's,
- 23:48it's like a pitcher catcher thing, right?
- 23:50And it's like quarterback, receiver.
- 23:52It's like you, you have to be. It's it's the reason why in
- 23:572009, AJ Burnett threw to Jose Molina because they had a
- 24:02different relationship and they that's just what it was.
- 24:06And so if he doesn't, if he doesn't fully vest himself into
- 24:13all of it, it ain't going to work.
- 24:17It's not going to work. And is this, is this going to be
- 24:21his last raw? I don't know.
- 24:24Oh, it is, I think. I think it might be It is he's
- 24:27got to go to. Honestly, he'll be honestly, I
- 24:29like him better paired with Puka then I liked Cooper cup.
- 24:33I think they had a very similar skill set cup in Puka and I
- 24:37thought puka was, you know, just better at that point in his
- 24:38career than cup. And I think Adams is more of a
- 24:41traditional outside receiver and I I really think that that's a
- 24:45nice dynamic. I trust McVeigh as an offensive
- 24:48coach. Maybe not on the other side of
- 24:49the ball without Aaron Donald yet, but look, they're good.
- 24:52They had good run young rookies verse.
- 24:56But is he going to buy him fish? That's the thing.
- 24:58He says so the culture is rejuvenating him.
- 25:01We'll see if it's true or not. Let's go through these next
- 25:03couple of ones a little more quickly because we do have let's
- 25:06parlay coming up for everyone. Want to hear some good bets?
- 25:09JK Dobbins and Jim Harbaugh on the news.
- 25:12Former formerly aligned last year was the bell cow running
- 25:15back coming off an injury. Dobbins for the Chargers.
- 25:19He signs with the Broncos, which and Sean Payden getting into
- 25:23that backfield that kind of doesn't have, you know #1 my
- 25:27son. Hated it.
- 25:28Didn't like it. All right, we'll get to it in a
- 25:30second. And then the other side of it,
- 25:31Harbaugh actually had a heart procedure.
- 25:34It was called an ablation. And.
- 25:36A hip replacement. And I think he missed like, I
- 25:40don't know, a day or two of work.
- 25:42And he said he's there's nothing that's going to keep him off of
- 25:44the football field, basically. But if you remember that when he
- 25:47was with San Francisco, I actually think it's why he
- 25:49stepped away originally. It's because he had this heart
- 25:52issue. So definitely something I'm glad
- 25:55he's getting healed up. But I wanted to hear you guys
- 25:57take on Dobbins, especially, you know, going to the Broncos. 1st,
- 26:02I like, I like JK Dobbins. Hopefully he stays healthy.
- 26:06When he is healthy, he's actually one of the more
- 26:08underrated running backs and he would fit over there in the
- 26:11culture with the Broncos. The Broncos, they're desperate.
- 26:15They're in desperate need of a running back of this magnitude.
- 26:18They have not had one in a very long, long time.
- 26:21I you'll, you seen Williams last year, he's an absolute debacle.
- 26:25He's no longer even with the organization.
- 26:28They're still trying to figure out their running game, but they
- 26:31have an explosive team. They have some good wide
- 26:33receivers. Cortland Sutton's one of the
- 26:35more underrated wide receivers in the league.
- 26:37Yeah, to JK Dobbins, that gives you a dual threat, a guy that
- 26:40can catch the ball in the backfield and open up the field
- 26:43for the Broncos offense. And by the way, they got a
- 26:46running quarterback that can move inside and out of the
- 26:48pocket. Now you have a guy that can
- 26:50actually help him, block for him.
- 26:53I like the move. And by the way, they have a
- 26:55young quarterback that's 25 this year, 25 years years old of age
- 27:00this year and has a chance to be, I believe, a pro ball player
- 27:05consistently for the next couple of years.
- 27:07I love this move for them. As long as JK Dobbins stays
- 27:10healthy. He proved me wrong last year.
- 27:12I wasn't sure. Yeah, yeah.
- 27:13I wasn't crazy about his overall skill set anyway when he first
- 27:16came out of the draft. But again, he had a nice rookie
- 27:18year with the Ravens. Since then he wasn't great, but
- 27:20he proved a lot of people wrong, including myself last year.
- 27:22So he's still on a good offensive line, a great running,
- 27:25running back type coach with Sean Payton there.
- 27:27I definitely a good move. They draft their rookie with RJ
- 27:29Harvey in the second round and Stella Jaleel McLaughlin.
- 27:32It looked kind of good towards towards the end of the year and
- 27:34in the playoffs, so they got a nice kind of three headed tandem
- 27:36they don't have to force Dallas to do.
- 27:37Everything. And as far as Jim Harbaugh is
- 27:39concerned, I just want to give a shout out to Jim.
- 27:41I had the same surgery as Jim Harbaugh.
- 27:45I had an ablation and I know what it's like.
- 27:48It's an electrical current that needs to be closed in your
- 27:51heart. I went through when I was 22
- 27:53when it was a new procedure and it was a 10% chance that I could
- 27:56have died under the knife. It's different now.
- 27:58It's a different kind of procedure.
- 28:00A lot of athletes get it. Well, not a lot of athletes, but
- 28:03one out of every two hundred 300 athlete get something like this.
- 28:08It to me, it's more. He's more than capable of going
- 28:11out there and screaming at a player after he gets a surgery
- 28:15like this. He just has to get it checked
- 28:17every six to 1012 months and make sure that it doesn't reopen
- 28:21itself. As far as I'm concerned, I think
- 28:24Jim Harbaugh is going to be ready to go during OTAs and and
- 28:28the regular season. I don't think it's going to hold
- 28:30them back at all. And it's.
- 28:32It's great to watch as an athlete, as a coach, Like, when
- 28:36you see it, you know it. And it's like the strongest
- 28:40thing you have is this right here.
- 28:43And he said he's not going to miss any time.
- 28:45Yeah, our body sometimes fails us, right?
- 28:49And it's like I gave this example to somebody.
- 28:52My dad had lived through so much stuff.
- 28:55He knew when he was done and his mind told him he was done.
- 29:00He ain't done. Like he's still going to go out
- 29:02and do his stuff and be the best coach, one of the best coach.
- 29:06I wouldn't say the best coach, but he he's going to be one of
- 29:10them then you know. He'll make that team a Super
- 29:13Bowl contender. I mean, they'll be talking.
- 29:15About, I think they'll be, I think they'll be in contention
- 29:17for sure. Three years, they'll be a
- 29:19contender. I wouldn't.
- 29:22I would say with you said three years, three years, three years,
- 29:27I would say 2. I, I think they have a little
- 29:31bit more to go. I think they need to figure out
- 29:33their offensive line set. I don't think it's their
- 29:35offensive line. I think it's the defensive side
- 29:37of the ball it's going to take. They need to add some corner
- 29:40help. They need to add maybe?
- 29:43Two, their secondary. Their secondary is terrible.
- 29:45Yeah, they need to add 2 two players up front, maybe a
- 29:49linebacker, a middle linebacker, yeah, and a defensive tackle.
- 29:52They have a a couple more years to go.
- 29:54I think three years they'll be ready to be a contender.
- 29:58They have the quarterback Justin Herbert special so.
- 30:01He certainly is. Just wanted to give you a dot
- 30:04like Dobbins. Obviously a great year, but if
- 30:06you're going to draft a guy like Omari on Hampton to be your bell
- 30:10cow running back, I could see why you go away from him for
- 30:13sure. It looks into this injury
- 30:14history for Dobbins. So this is a guy that if he
- 30:17stayed healthy, they say the talent was just of that elite
- 30:20level type of a guy that would have been, you know, playing as
- 30:23a top five running back. But in high school, he broke his
- 30:27fibula and had ligament damage in his ankle in the first game
- 30:30of his high school senior year when he was right before the
- 30:33Fiesta Bowl. If you remember in college, he
- 30:35had a high, high ankle sprain in the final game of his career and
- 30:39they lost. He tore his ACL against the
- 30:42Commanders. I don't know if they were still
- 30:44Redskins back then or just a football team.
- 30:47But he also tore his LCL and meniscus and hamstring on the
- 30:50hit. I don't know if I've ever heard
- 30:52of that. Yeah, where you can tear your
- 30:53hamstring as well as the meniscus, LCL and ACL.
- 30:57Usually you hear the MCL, but not even on that one.
- 31:00He had to have a redo of the surgery the following year and
- 31:04then had a torn Achilles in the following season.
- 31:08Fish wears paintings. Ridiculous for a guy who's still
- 31:11in his 20s, you know, still in his 20s.
- 31:14Well. Late 20s.
- 31:16But you know what I mean? Like it's.
- 31:18Still my back. Started when he was in high
- 31:20school with the injuries and got to give him credit.
- 31:23He played like a boss last year. I hope he has success for.
- 31:26Sure. And I sit.
- 31:26On his Jake. Jake said he's unlucky, but we
- 31:30see in sports all the time, Jake, you don't understand.
- 31:33You got to understand like there's great players and, and
- 31:36we've seen it too. And obviously as Yankees fans,
- 31:40we've seen unlucky stuff happen all the time.
- 31:43Like that's just, that's kind of part of sports and that just
- 31:46kind of what happens, you know? And that's, that's just part of
- 31:50things. So.
- 31:51I I remember, especially thinking of the Yankees back
- 31:54then. I don't remember if you crossed
- 31:55with him or not. I think you did Jabba, But
- 31:57Shimming Wang had that. That was my dude.
- 32:00That he like stepped on. Was he stepped on home plate
- 32:03wrong or something? No.
- 32:04No. It was I stole a bit.
- 32:06Literally he's trying to steal a no.
- 32:08No, he didn't. He was trying like, OK, slow
- 32:11down. We were playing the Astros and
- 32:17he was rounding third and hit the background and he got a Liz
- 32:23Frank. And he was just never the same.
- 32:26And never the same and Chen Ming and I were we were catch
- 32:30partners. We were everything and it just
- 32:33it was a Liz Frank is is weird just because it's it's not a
- 32:38normal baseball confusion, I guess.
- 32:44But yeah, it was I, I remember happened to bring him the
- 32:48crutches and all these and I just, I'd love Tim.
- 32:51I love him. And it was he was, he was
- 32:57something special. He almost broke my thumb
- 32:59literally every day because he would play catch and it would
- 33:03like hit my thumb all the time. And I'm like.
- 33:07Stop throwing 2. Steamers like I just want to
- 33:09catch the ball like Groba. Nathan shut up Groba and he
- 33:19would like, but he could throw nothing straight.
- 33:23And it was, it was crazy too. Like I remember when he went
- 33:27through arbitration, I got mad at it because he he won 19 games
- 33:33two years in a row and then went to arbitration and he wanted 5
- 33:39million or 5 1/2 millions and they wanted 5 million.
- 33:46And literally what they told him is like, you don't strike enough
- 33:50people out. We can't give you 5 1/2.
- 33:54I mean, I'd be fine with them having weak contact every single
- 33:58time they hit his ball that just kept moving.
- 34:00Did did you not see his contact like he threw that thing?
- 34:04Hey, but also too smell my ass. Not trying to not trying to wrap
- 34:09my dude out, but that was the one we could do some shit right?
- 34:13That's when we could do some shit and but his, it was always
- 34:192 seamers, 2 seamers, 2 seamers. And he, you don't see a
- 34:23Taiwanese dude like that. I was the second.
- 34:26I was the second pious. I do feel like I remember him
- 34:30going to the face A. Lot.
- 34:32This is a grumpy old man. No, always his wrist.
- 34:35Not like trying to get a little extra.
- 34:37No, no, it's always his wrist. Interesting.
- 34:40There was someone. That was like blatant Oh did you
- 34:43play with Pineda or was that after?
- 34:46No, I got him. I got him young.
- 34:48I got him. Young breaking news I didn't.
- 34:50I didn't have no sack. Nobody cares about your beads
- 34:54right now, all. Right.
- 34:56Anyway. Harold, anything.
- 34:57Else you want to say about Aaron Rodgers and a secret marriage?
- 35:03Who cares? I'll tell you what I told you,
- 35:06what my secret is. He didn't marry anybody, married
- 35:09his hand, and he named her Brittany.
- 35:11Why, where's? Where's our Brittany?
- 35:15She's working, man. Actually, no, she's not.
- 35:18She's, I think she's getting ready for our cruise.
- 35:21She's been ordering stuff on Amazon all freaking day.
- 35:25OK. So, so you're telling me like,
- 35:28like this is like a manti Te'o situation?
- 35:30I would think so. I think he's lying.
- 35:32That's what I think out of here. I think he's lying.
- 35:34I really do. I or is he doing it for?
- 35:37No, wait. The problem is, is everybody's
- 35:40attacking him on why didn't show up where he hasn't really
- 35:44trained with the Steelers. Why?
- 35:46Because. You've already made hundreds of
- 35:48millions of dollars. Why would you do something?
- 35:51I don't know you. Maybe if we ever have them.
- 35:53I. Don't I don't shit, I don't
- 35:55know. We'll ask him one of these days
- 35:58if he ever wants to come on his show.
- 35:59We'll ask him, you know. Who?
- 36:01First of all, we'll make sure you're on vacation when he comes
- 36:04on the show because. Why it won't be funny then?
- 36:08I'm probably the only one that has the balls to actually tell
- 36:11him that. Yeah, and that's not.
- 36:14What I want? All right, guys, that's that's
- 36:18been the the NFL off. Season I got to go buy it all,
- 36:21no? We'll probably be doing this
- 36:23every week or so with. New robot.
- 36:25News as we get closer. To Zaba takes it up the yes.
- 36:31Let's go to Inside Baseball. Now let's go deep, deep inside.
- 36:34What I am excited, this is inside baseball.
- 36:39I saw Goody, he's here, so we got Goody.
- 36:41Now, Goody said, he has to shower.
- 36:43So. He's going to take a shower, so
- 36:44we're going to Goody will have to sneak right in.
- 36:46Or I guess it's going to be us. I got I got AI got a few
- 36:50minutes. I got to drive to Panama City.
- 36:52We just went on a walk off in the 11th.
- 36:54Of course it was crazy. Umpires are bad.
- 36:57Umpires threw out like three or four of our fans told one of
- 37:00them to meet him in the parking lot.
- 37:03Pass liquor. That's that's probably your
- 37:06fault, Goody. He pointed.
- 37:10I thought he was pointed at me telling me I was off but you
- 37:14know I held it together but our catcher got cops.
- 37:17It's insane bro. I was like college insane
- 37:19nowadays is absolutely crazy all.
- 37:24Right, well, we're going to get to college game in a.
- 37:27Little bit as you know. Woody.
- 37:29But let's go through some stories going on right now
- 37:33inside baseball. So First things first, we got
- 37:37Byron Buxton hit in the big, huge home run, almost 500 feet.
- 37:42This is a guy that was a top prospect, had all the hype in
- 37:47the world, kept getting hurt, still gets hurt, sapped some of
- 37:51his speed. He was A5 tool player, defense,
- 37:54speed, power. He hasn't been able to put it
- 37:58all together. He may be doing so right now.
- 38:02What do you got, Errol? First of all, incredible,
- 38:06incredible power. And if this guy could stay
- 38:09healthy, I mean, they've got something.
- 38:11We all know what type of player this guy is.
- 38:14He was a top draft pick. He's a great player.
- 38:16And obviously they're they have a slew of talent in their farm
- 38:20system and, and they've been calling them up.
- 38:22The, the problem right now really lies in pitching.
- 38:26So congratulations, he's a good player.
- 38:28And if he could stay healthy, this guy's going to the Sky's
- 38:31the limit on where this guy's going to go.
- 38:33It was the number one prospect in baseball, I think the year
- 38:36after Bryce Harper was, and he was that five tool player, like
- 38:40we're scouting out, like looking at prospects at the time,
- 38:42probably outside of a Cunha, there wasn't like a more
- 38:44complete player I thought coming out.
- 38:46It's just a shame what happened and with all the injuries
- 38:47accumulated in his career. Yeah, analytically speaking,
- 38:51advanced. That's wise.
- 38:52He said he's like top 15 player. What?
- 38:54He's healthy in baseball easily. Job.
- 38:57Have you ever played with someone similar where you knew
- 39:00that if he could just stay healthy, this guy should be like
- 39:04one of the best players in the league?
- 39:05It just net, but it didn't just come together or it came
- 39:07together late for him. To Kobe Ellsberg, get out of
- 39:13here Goody. He had, he had the he had the
- 39:17one year like no, I, I never played with I.
- 39:23Steven Strasburg. Steven Strasburg.
- 39:26Well, he was. He made $125 million.
- 39:29No, but he, he should have been better than he is He, he just.
- 39:33Could no I I don't disagree, but.
- 39:37But he did get the contract because he was.
- 39:40You know good enough for what he did.
- 39:42We're saying like a guy that didn't get to that point but
- 39:45should have goody. No Harry Woods.
- 39:50Carrie Woods. What are you talking?
- 39:53About Harry Woods strikeout game, yeah.
- 39:56But there. But he never really became the
- 39:58player that he was. Prior and he was like prior was
- 40:01another one money like prior prior to.
- 40:04These are all. These are all guys that were
- 40:06supposed to be all these guys. What am I talking about?
- 40:09Carrie Wood was supposed to be a starter.
- 40:10He was supposed to be a * and he never got there because he could
- 40:13stay. Healthy.
- 40:13Well, that's what they say about me, but that's what we're
- 40:15talking about. But that's what.
- 40:17We're talking about. Speedy has Bucks to never put
- 40:20together like a full season. That was he was good in his
- 40:23career. He's never, no, he's never
- 40:26played over 100 game like twice. Yeah.
- 40:30So that's more what I'm saying. There was like 1 recent one, I
- 40:33want to say 21. There was one recent one where
- 40:34he actually did stay healthy but it wasn't manic all.
- 40:39Right goody anybody for real? I mean, I thought Jacoby
- 40:44Ellsbury was pretty solid, but he made he made a ton of money,
- 40:46but he just could never stay on the field.
- 40:48So it's like, you know, he was always hurt or something,
- 40:51something was always on. So but I mean, he did sign a fat
- 40:54contract with the Yankees, so I don't know if he counts, but and
- 40:58how and how many play? How many games did he play with
- 41:00the Yankees and how much money was he stealing sitting at home?
- 41:05I mean. Between.
- 41:05Him and Carl Pavano, they could have a contest.
- 41:08And who stole more money from the Yankees, that's for sure.
- 41:11Oh Ellsbury way more because Pavanos was only 45,000,000.
- 41:15Yeah, but I think Pavano throwed through like 30 pitches total or
- 41:19something ridiculous. Do you want to know how many
- 41:22games Jacoby Ellsbury played in the contract year?
- 41:25Because of six years? How many did you play?
- 41:29Didn't even play a full season. Yeah, it certainly wasn't a
- 41:32great contract. Another guy that apparently was
- 41:35really hurt for a number of years, guys, Javi Baez, kind of
- 41:39an afterthought. People thought, you know, wasn't
- 41:42going to get it done. Bounced around the league,
- 41:44obviously locally for a little bit.
- 41:47He got a lot of money. A lost.
- 41:49He got a lot of Javi Baez, got a lot of money.
- 41:53As much as you expected. Yeah, it doesn't matter.
- 41:54Get over 100 million, you're going to tell me Pryor and
- 41:57Woods, who are supposed to be stars in the league, who got
- 42:00hurt over and over and over again, they couldn't stay
- 42:02healthy and they were not anywhere close to as good as
- 42:06they should have been. I just said they're not.
- 42:08They were not healthy. They got injured.
- 42:11How many times did Carrie Wood got hurt, get hurt over and over
- 42:14and over again and he came back here, he was a relief pitcher,
- 42:17but he never really got to that point where he was going to be
- 42:20the star and prior to another Cub that was a top pick and
- 42:24never got over the hump because he couldn't stay healthy.
- 42:26That's what we're talking about. They never really developed.
- 42:29A good example. Wood was too.
- 42:31Wood was too. Carrie Wood was supposed to be
- 42:33a. But Wood had a little bit of
- 42:35sustained success, yeah. As a relief pitcher.
- 42:37But he was supposed to be a star.
- 42:38Really, he was supposed to be a starter.
- 42:40I know they both look, that's what I'm saying, supposed to be
- 42:42a starter. Now Javi Baez, he did get paid,
- 42:44but he was arguably the worst player in baseball for two
- 42:48straight years. He was putting up a sub 550 OPS
- 42:52which is you should be in the minors type of numbers.
- 42:54It's the lowest among qualified hitters up until August last
- 42:57year. And, you know, they sat him
- 43:00down. The story goes that he was
- 43:02trying to play through pain for a number of years.
- 43:05And they eventually told him you got to knock this off, we got to
- 43:07set you down, we got to get you surgery.
- 43:09His hips roll off. Obviously, it sapped his power.
- 43:12Well, right now his OPS is over 700.
- 43:15He's hitting 260 something. He's got a little bit of pop
- 43:18again, like things around seven home runs.
- 43:20He seems to be back. And he had a nice.
- 43:22I got another one. I got another.
- 43:23One with the Tigers, Roberto. This is not about doing that
- 43:26anyway. Roberto Kelly, Just so you know.
- 43:29Roberto Kelly. Roberto Kelly.
- 43:31He was a topic. Before my time with the Yankees,
- 43:33Yeah, but is that who they traded for?
- 43:35Paul O'Neill. Yes, but he was supposed to be
- 43:38special. I remember him.
- 43:39He was supposed to be special. He's a top draft pick for the
- 43:41Yankees. Never really turned out to be
- 43:43anything for the Yankees, so or anybody else, by the way.
- 43:47So speedy. He gave us some stats on Javi,
- 43:49Baez, Jabba. If this guy is healthy, playing
- 43:54the way that we thought he's play, what does that mean for
- 43:56the Detroit Tigers this year? It was, it's funny you say and
- 44:01you bring him up because I had this conversation with Francisco
- 44:05Lindor because obviously being, you know, Puerto Rican guys.
- 44:10And I was like, I didn't like his stuff at first because he
- 44:16hadn't proven anything. And Frankie was like, really?
- 44:25He's like, you don't know him. And I was like, damn, you're
- 44:28right, you are right. And he had a he had some
- 44:33moments. Do I think he's special in the
- 44:36things that he does? Yes.
- 44:39Do I think if he puts it together, I think he's going to
- 44:42be really good. He's not old.
- 44:45I mean, he's older, but not old. I think he has a chance and I
- 44:51think what he does, and I'll eat my words and I'll look to to
- 44:57Lindor and be like, I was wrong because he was so flashy and
- 45:03foremost in like the early part of career because it was sexy.
- 45:08And then he didn't go out and do anything.
- 45:10And I'm like, that doesn't mean anything to me, like go out and
- 45:16do it. And I'm happy for him.
- 45:20Like I wish everybody success in anything that they do, right.
- 45:26And I think he's kind of because he's kind of toned it down.
- 45:29If you if if you watch the game and you understand the game,
- 45:32he's kind of calmed it down a little bit.
- 45:35No, he's certainly not screaming at everybody anymore and talking
- 45:38smack in the middle of the. Game right because you can't
- 45:41because at the end of the day you can't do that if you're not
- 45:47producing, you can't do it sorry about your life because nobody's
- 45:52going to hold clout to that I. Think he's been humbled a little
- 45:55bit? And that's, I think that's great
- 45:57for him. And that's why I think he's
- 46:00like, you know what, let me change.
- 46:03Like we could all change, right? And now he literally understands
- 46:10exactly what it is. That's what Rocky said, right?
- 46:13If I could change. You could change.
- 46:16We all could change. I just want to say something,
- 46:19Leon, Leon Dry Seidel is ridiculous.
- 46:23That goal that he just scored was disgusting.
- 46:27Disgusting. Absolutely.
- 46:29On a backhand with one hand holding off, I'm.
- 46:31So happy this series is going to go 6-6 or seven.
- 46:34I'm so. Happy, but why?
- 46:35Like literally like I'm looking this way.
- 46:37Disgusting. And absolutely I got, I got.
- 46:40So many TV's around me I'm. Like, all right, let's go on to
- 46:42something tonight. Absolutely.
- 46:44I have to say it again, blame. Absolutely disgusting, that's
- 46:48all. So the Brewers top prospect guys
- 46:53throwing 1O21O3 routinely. His name's I forget his first
- 46:57name now. Was it Jake Jacob?
- 46:58Jason Mizarowski, Mizaroski he debuted for the Brewers tonight
- 47:03Jabba. He threw 5 no hit innings, three
- 47:06walks, 5 strikeouts. I would say it's pretty good.
- 47:10They there's a video you can see online of him on Twitter
- 47:13throwing a 96 mile an hour slider 96.
- 47:19Mile AN. Hour slider.
- 47:21His heart. That used to be like a.
- 47:22Sheep throwing like that. He shouldn't be throwing like
- 47:24that. Noah.
- 47:27Noah Syndergaard, I remember that guy who's throwing sliders
- 47:30like that. 49 to 5:00 at the beginning.
- 47:32Never left. Never anyways.
- 47:34It's led to, I said in the sports minute, their 5th starter
- 47:38was Aaron Savali. He's asking for a trade.
- 47:40He didn't want to be demoted to the pen.
- 47:42He's a free agent so it's going to hurt his money.
- 47:44So he's being. Asked I want to say something
- 47:46because I'm sure Java has his take to it.
- 47:49I will say this, all these young flamethrowers that you're
- 47:53hearing, those 100 and two 103, they never last.
- 47:57Never, never last. And we've heard it and we've
- 48:01heard all different pictures. Verlander came out over the
- 48:03years that said it. Who's the guy with the two of
- 48:05colored eyes? Sure, Sir.
- 48:07He's another one. It's really how you train your
- 48:09arm when you are a young man. Before you get into the big
- 48:12leagues is, is how long you're going to last when you see these
- 48:15guys throwing 100 and two 103 and they're flamethrowers.
- 48:18And by the way, nobody's seen this guy pitch yet.
- 48:21You know, when you get on the mound and get throwing that
- 48:23hard, that's why he was pitching 5, no hit innings.
- 48:27Nobody's seen him. So I mean, now they're going.
- 48:29To get a chance is like video. Game stuff, that's fine.
- 48:32Like 96 miles. So was.
- 48:33Chapman never heard show was Chapman Chapman for years they
- 48:37said it was video game stuff and then people.
- 48:39Figured, but he's but he's still he's still doing.
- 48:41It I mean chat, I mean Chapman, look, obviously there was the
- 48:44issues we talked that we talked. About no, I'm talking about his
- 48:47talent throwing 100 and. Two on the 100 and he was
- 48:50throwing 105. I mean, we know he's he's hit
- 48:52105 number of times his career. That's that's also Ben Joyce.
- 48:57Yeah, you don't have to be good throwing that hard now, Speedy.
- 49:02What is if the Brewers keep bringing up guys that are
- 49:05dominant. We already saw Logan Henderson
- 49:07be sent back down. He's obviously still there, too.
- 49:11They're probably going for it all.
- 49:14Or if they don't think so, they could trade all those veteran
- 49:18arms and just go with these guys who's in a better like which way
- 49:21do they go? But either way, pretty good spot
- 49:23for them franchise wise. Yeah, I was going to say like
- 49:25they can't treat him like they did with Henderson because I
- 49:28think we were all agree and say was shocking the way they did
- 49:30it. Yeah, you want to.
- 49:31I think you said a Java like you were waiting.
- 49:32Maybe if you have two bad starts, then consider sending
- 49:35him down. But like you're already dealing
- 49:37with the innings limited as is now he's brought up later in the
- 49:39season. Maybe that was a plan.
- 49:41Maybe that was part of the development process.
- 49:43But yeah, I would imagine like the Brewers who are already lost
- 49:46Brain Woodruff for Tami John surgery, like you said, they're
- 49:49going to trade Savali. Freddy Peralta is an interesting
- 49:52one because he's been very good. He had a resurgence really the
- 49:54last four years. And like you keep that kind of
- 49:57thing for a team that's kind of a fringe contender.
- 50:00But we've also seen them mistreat the way they did with
- 50:02Corbin Burns like that. A whole arbitration thing was
- 50:04terrible. So they just, their process
- 50:06seems unconventional and it like it seems like they're a good
- 50:09franchise. It's just they're kind of that
- 50:11weird stuck middle ground for a team that was developing
- 50:14starting pitching. Not great before that up until
- 50:16recently. Yeah, Jabba, what's it like put
- 50:22put ourselves in the shoes of this guy?
- 50:24I needed to start. Five no hit innings right off
- 50:29the bat, What's he? Feeling like right now, I mean,
- 50:33he's feeling great at this point.
- 50:35Yeah. But it's it's one of those
- 50:37things where you just don't you don't know we're really what
- 50:41you're getting because you'd look at it and what he's doing
- 50:46is it that's not going to last. We understand it.
- 50:49It's kind of the Paul schemes thing is he's going to be able
- 50:52to do the things that he's doing for as long as he is.
- 50:57But it strikes a chord with you guys and it literally lets them
- 51:03talk about it. And so let it be what it is, you
- 51:06know, And if he continues to go, great.
- 51:11Do I think it's going to? No, because that's the game of
- 51:15baseball. It's all.
- 51:18Right. So we're going, we're going long
- 51:21tonight. We got to picked up the pace
- 51:22right here. Fish is not a painting.
- 51:24I'm going to get murdered, probably by my wife.
- 51:27So we got to move this along. Guys, home run leaders, the big
- 51:31dumper Cal rally, they're 26 homers.
- 51:35Only guy had a judge at 25. Otani sitting at 23.
- 51:42Look, before this year Raleigh was a good catcher.
- 51:44No, I don't think anyone saw this comment.
- 51:46Speedy. What do you know about him?
- 51:49Yeah, I know he's been a great power hitting catcher for the
- 51:51last four years really, but not to this extreme where he's on
- 51:54pace for 50 home runs. It's not going to last, No, I
- 51:57mean. It's on pace for 64 home runs.
- 51:59Right. He's not hitting 64.
- 52:00He's not going to last. Those catchers, their knees get
- 52:02tired, they get tired. What's?
- 52:04The catcher record. It was 48.
- 52:07What's in Mike, Mike Piazza? Well, no, it was one of my no
- 52:11questions a few weeks ago. It was.
- 52:13No, that was a question, yeah. Yeah, Salvador Perez has the
- 52:16record 48 and then it Johnny Bench a second and then Javi
- 52:20Lopez, which Java got is the answer to the question.
- 52:22He is the one that did the most as a full time catcher that
- 52:25entire season, playing over 100 games at the catcher, which I'm
- 52:28that's. 40 eights in range. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
- 52:31That's definitely in range and I'm curious to see if Seattle,
- 52:34maybe he has him. DH Morgan, he's a, he's a OK
- 52:36defensive catcher, but he's not amazing as a defensive catcher.
- 52:38But we wonder if they could rotate.
- 52:40I think they have a kid coming up to another catching prospect
- 52:42that's supposed to be really good.
- 52:43I'm even going to predict that Aaron Judge wins the Triple
- 52:47Crown this year. I think he's going.
- 52:49No he doesn't. I.
- 52:50I think he's going to win the Triple Crown this year.
- 52:52He's going to. He's going to have trouble with
- 52:54someone I have on this list. Who's that?
- 52:57Jacob Wilson, who's might be rookie.
- 52:59I believe he's going to be rookie of the year.
- 53:01He's hitting 366. This guy doesn't.
- 53:04And Aaron Judge is hitting 394. I know, but the judge that hit
- 53:08with the powers, I mean, nobody thinks it's that sustainable.
- 53:12A guy who's a slap. Hitter they said that four weeks
- 53:15ago. It's.
- 53:16Gonna be hard. Me and Speedy said it on the
- 53:18weekend crunch and Speedy told me, he says do you think he's
- 53:21going to hit over 390 in the month of May?
- 53:24And I said absolutely. And he's doing it.
- 53:26And I'm going to tell you this. Kind of thing.
- 53:28It's no easier to hit a 400 like Luisa Rise than Aaron Judge
- 53:32hitting for power. I'm telling you right?
- 53:33Now uppercutting as much, you know, I, I, I would imagine,
- 53:37right, you would think. By the by the way, just defying
- 53:40logic by by the way, Aaron Judge right now is hitting 394 and he
- 53:45has better, he has better, he has a better batting average
- 53:49right now. As long as a a rise right rise
- 53:52arise when he was doing it, when he was his, his batting average
- 53:56was better in the year that arise arise.
- 53:59OK, so, OK, so before we get into this, what it like?
- 54:03So Eric, what? What do you think he's going to
- 54:07finish it like realistically? Realistically, I think he hits
- 54:11over 350. I think he's going to be 35358.
- 54:15That's where I think he's going to be.
- 54:17I think he's going to have the home runs by at least 10 and I
- 54:22this, so it's batting average, it's home runs and it's RBI, RBI
- 54:28and he'll have, he'll have the most RBI's in a league.
- 54:30I, I think absolutely, I say he hits about 130 RB is this year
- 54:35if he stays healthy, if he goes on that range, he's going to win
- 54:38the Triple Crown and I think. He could be close.
- 54:40I think he will. I think he will.
- 54:43This is something he's never done.
- 54:44And if he does this, not only does he he he mail himself to
- 54:49the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, you're going to start to compare
- 54:52him to the Mickey Mantle's, the Babe Roots, all those guys.
- 54:56I think John Joe Dimaggio's, what he is doing right now in
- 54:59this this five year span, I don't think we've seen a Yankee
- 55:03dominate the way he has. So that's that's.
- 55:07At the highest it has three. 40 still is going to.
- 55:11See still. Can win the triple.
- 55:12Crown 300 the whole second-half. It would be like him hitting
- 55:1635345 the rest of the year. Dude is O is OPS right now is 1.
- 55:23What is it, 1200? 79 I think.
- 55:26It's just. Ungodly numbers.
- 55:28It's some ridiculous number, Babe Ruth numbers.
- 55:31It's it's better. It's better than about it, but.
- 55:34We want to talk about it now. Let's talk about it at the end
- 55:37of the year when it actually matters and if he does something
- 55:41when it actually mattered. He is.
- 55:43You're the greatest regular sinking player ever.
- 55:46Great. What do you do in the
- 55:48postseason? And, and we could say that about
- 55:51Alex Rodriguez too, until 2009 and if and if and if he does.
- 55:55It but he did it right, he. Did it?
- 55:57All right, so Aaron Judge is still doing things that other
- 56:01people said there's no way he's going to be able to do because
- 56:04he's a power hitter and he hits for power.
- 56:07Well, guess what he's up. He's not arise who's not a power
- 56:11hitter who hit what 22 home runs that year 23 This guy already
- 56:16hit 25 or has 26 home runs already and we're not even at
- 56:20the All Star break and he's putting as 394 and he has how
- 56:24many RB is right now like like 60 or 5050?
- 56:27It's. Like it's like high 50s he's
- 56:29got. He's leading the league in runs,
- 56:31I think. What does it matter though?
- 56:33It means a lot when you're hitting when you're getting a
- 56:35triple. Crown job, but did you play with
- 56:37Miguel Cabrera the year he wanted or is that the year
- 56:39before you came there? He was.
- 56:41It was before I played with him. 2959 and he has 64 runs and yeah
- 56:49hitting 394 I mean this is one of the greatest seasons we've
- 56:53ever seen a. Player Miguel Cabrera is a
- 56:54better hitter than Aaron. Well, that's, that's your
- 56:57opinion If Aaron Judge hits, hits the way he's hitting right
- 57:00now. I mean, I, I would disagree.
- 57:03I'm looking at what he's going to do for the full season and if
- 57:06he hits, if he gets anywhere. But that's projections.
- 57:10That's not in a full seat. Let me let me ask you a
- 57:12question. Miguel Cabrera, as great as he
- 57:14was, did he win in Detroit when he when he?
- 57:17Yeah. No, he didn't.
- 57:19He didn't win in Detroit. He won in Miami, Yeah, he
- 57:22didn't. He won in Miami in.
- 57:24The World Series. Yeah, but he he didn't win in.
- 57:26Teacher, but he he got to the. Championship, right?
- 57:28And so did Aaron Judge and Aaron Judges, you know, And Aaron
- 57:32Judges had how many MVPS in? The last three years, MVPS,
- 57:38they're great. Nobody cares.
- 57:40Well. That's the best, right?
- 57:41The best right-handed hitter is still Manny Ramirez in Like
- 57:45Algebra. Well, and I'm going to tell you
- 57:46this right now, if he puts up the numbers that I think he's
- 57:49going to put up this year, I, I think you're going to take that,
- 57:52you're going to take that into understanding of what Aaron
- 57:55judges. I got to take it into
- 57:57consideration 100%. I think he's doing all right.
- 58:01He's doing something unbelievable.
- 58:02Let's switch to defense for a second and get into two of the
- 58:06craziest catches you're going to see from the same guy on the
- 58:10Oakland A's. I guess Sacramento is I guess.
- 58:15First off, let me show you the. First one only thing you can
- 58:18root for by the way. Denzel Clark, All right, full
- 58:22Sprint from the others, shaded to the right center, gets that
- 58:26in left center, right into the wall, somehow doesn't knock
- 58:29himself out full speed into the wall.
- 58:33And if you think that's a great catch and it is a great catch,
- 58:37I'll raise you one left center. He's got a beat on it.
- 58:42Look how high he goes up over the wall.
- 58:45They were saying about 5 or 6 feet over the wall to get that
- 58:48one slow motion does it a little bit more justice.
- 58:53Just one of the best catches you're ever going to see.
- 58:55Guys. I I that's going to be on
- 58:58highlight reels for a very long time.
- 59:01You know who reminds me of? You know who he reminds.
- 59:02Me of what does he remind you? Of Tori Hunter, that's who he
- 59:06reminds me of. Did.
- 59:07Did you not see Tori's tweet? Yeah.
- 59:10That's who we I know I. Say, he said.
- 59:12That's one of the best catches ever seen.
- 59:15We've we've seen the Jim Edmonds cats, we've seen the GMJ Gary
- 59:19Matthews junior catch in Texas, and we've seen three this year
- 59:26that have been great. One being a Mets fan as speedy
- 59:30is. Brandon Nimmo had one too this
- 59:35year. Jabba, someone you played with,
- 59:37made a really insane one in I think it was either 15 or 16,
- 59:40Austin Jackson when he was following to the Fenway bullpen.
- 59:44Yeah, and and another one I played with Rajay Davis when he
- 59:48climbed the wall in. Toronto, yes, I remember that.
- 59:51I also remember when Andrew Jones made some unbelievable
- 59:54grabs too. So.
- 59:56Andrew Jones should be in the Hall of Fame.
- 59:59I think he still might, but it's going to take a little bit of a
- 1:00:02little bit of time. Well, because his back end of
- 1:00:04his career was horrible. Right.
- 1:00:06It wasn't great. Well, that's and of course,
- 1:00:09that's when the Yankees had him. Now Jackson Job, job.
- 1:00:12I was going to get some injuries.
- 1:00:14We talked about this when it happened.
- 1:00:16They called it a Grade 1 flexor strain can.
- 1:00:20We how much get rid? Of that term and how much?
- 1:00:22Partial term. We talked about that though.
- 1:00:25And. Exactly what it.
- 1:00:26Is and Jabba, I got to be honest, you I used your advice
- 1:00:29and I traded him away in my dynasty league knowing that he's
- 1:00:32probably going to need Tommy John.
- 1:00:33And I got nice value, was able to get guys I wanted pretty
- 1:00:37interesting. That's another one.
- 1:00:39Speedy Paul Reagan's rotator cuff inflammation.
- 1:00:44What is that going to look? The Yankees just took it to the
- 1:00:47the Royals this series. What?
- 1:00:49What is his injury, especially in the competitive Central?
- 1:00:52Yeah. And for a guy that's a lefty, a
- 1:00:55guy that doesn't have as big of a build, like it's kind of the
- 1:00:57opposite of what we're talking with Noah Singer guard, like he
- 1:00:59was too big. Like Reagan's is a lot leaner.
- 1:01:01And you wonder how somebody like that for a lefty would second
- 1:01:04injury in a span of less than a month, close to a month.
- 1:01:08Like it's something that is not ideal.
- 1:01:10For it was a month. It was a month.
- 1:01:11About a month, yeah. So something not ideal for a
- 1:01:13younger pitcher and now a Royals team that again, we were talking
- 1:01:16about a few weeks ago. They really need their pitching
- 1:01:18to stay healthy. Now they have the kick, Cameron,
- 1:01:20that's done insane so far, which has bailed them out so far.
- 1:01:24But that offense is still not great.
- 1:01:26And. One haven't got to carry the
- 1:01:28stuff that. Bubic is.
- 1:01:29Really, he's having a breakout year Bubic right now.
- 1:01:31So that's that's helping for them.
- 1:01:33I mean, I don't know if you're Libra last year, that's
- 1:01:35sustainable for him. Great.
- 1:01:37But you know, especially if you haven't pitched that many
- 1:01:39innings, how you know, how is he going to look in the back half
- 1:01:42of the season compared to right now?
- 1:01:44You never know. I mean, we saw Louise heal
- 1:01:46similar situation, lights out first half last year, kind of
- 1:01:50back-to-back to Earth second-half, right?
- 1:01:52So that's, that's kind of the injury.
- 1:01:55Then the weird one that I saw there was Bryce Miller is
- 1:01:58getting a PRP injection into his elbow.
- 1:02:02Titties. Which, which is just like that,
- 1:02:05is the other thing Cody had in his knees.
- 1:02:07My. Son had that, So what is that?
- 1:02:09More than Java like what is that supposed to do?
- 1:02:12So basically it's like a placement procedures.
- 1:02:16So basically they take everything out and then put it
- 1:02:18back in and it just sees and, and it's it's been great for my
- 1:02:25son. I never experienced that.
- 1:02:28So I don't know ball bag. I I know it was, it was, it was
- 1:02:33started early in a lot of athletes.
- 1:02:36I hope not or. This time.
- 1:02:39Is it for a tear or is it for like severe inflammation?
- 1:02:42Speedy, it's, it's to repair what you have if there's scar
- 1:02:48tissue and if there's those other things, I'll let you lick
- 1:02:51my butt because if it's a tear, they're going to do it.
- 1:02:55You know what I'm saying? So if it's a tear, they're going
- 1:02:58to do it. I'll let you like my butt, be
- 1:03:01able to try and figure it out. I gave up the booty there and I
- 1:03:06just, I, I, I never went through it.
- 1:03:10So I don't know. This makes my, I don't, I don't,
- 1:03:13I don't know that answer, but you just made my nipples hard.
- 1:03:17PRP has worked for a lot of people.
- 1:03:21I hope it works for him man. Yeah, I do.
- 1:03:23I do too. Blood out of.
- 1:03:25Right, so here's the one I wanted to bring up to Errol.
- 1:03:28Guess what spread Carlos Stanton mashing in rehab coming back
- 1:03:35real soon. They're talking about putting
- 1:03:37Ben Rice over to catch her some so that they can get him some at
- 1:03:41bats, keep his bat in the lineup.
- 1:03:44While Stanton obviously will DH primarily, it seems like Aaron
- 1:03:49Judge might have even more protection in the lineup real
- 1:03:52soon. Errol.
- 1:03:53I think it's great Giancarlo standing.
- 1:03:55I think you get him healthy for the playoffs.
- 1:03:57I don't think they worry about them you right now.
- 1:03:59You called it Errol, though. I'll give, I'll give, I'll give
- 1:04:02you this credit. And it's like you didn't want to
- 1:04:05do anything. And it's like we want Giancarlo
- 1:04:09in the playoffs and let him wait as long as possible.
- 1:04:13You did say that. You did say that.
- 1:04:15And I think it's a good idea. And I think that's.
- 1:04:17When I, I think you're 100% right, I, I do because why rush
- 1:04:22him back? Because now leading the
- 1:04:25division, doing what you're doing with the guys that are
- 1:04:28doing what they're doing. Let's see what happens with Jazz
- 1:04:32and obviously being out two days in a row and leaving the game
- 1:04:35early. I think you're 100% right when
- 1:04:39it comes to it's like let him just be him and get him back
- 1:04:44because we've seen post season then right?
- 1:04:49So I think I think you were 100% right on that.
- 1:04:52I think there's no need to rush back.
- 1:04:54There's no need I. Think that the Yankees just need
- 1:04:56to sit and, and and wait. If if, if anything, wait until
- 1:05:00the All Star break. Then let him come in.
- 1:05:03Don't rush him back and and honestly, if he does come back
- 1:05:06and when he does come back, play him every other day, make sure
- 1:05:10that he's 100% healthy for the playoffs.
- 1:05:13Don't rush him where he gets hurt again and he's got a
- 1:05:16significant. Amount still got to give guys
- 1:05:17that bats, still got to give guys that bats that are going to
- 1:05:21help you at that point. If he's going to get, he has a
- 1:05:24chance, even if he plays every other day, he's going to get at
- 1:05:27least 200 and semi at bats. I think that's what the Yankees
- 1:05:30should do. I, I, I really do.
- 1:05:32I think that's what the Yankees should.
- 1:05:33Do he, won't he? He'll get 100 and he'll get
- 1:05:37$1.20 buck $20.40. I The problem with the problem,
- 1:05:42what worries me is Aaron Boone. When these guys come back, he
- 1:05:46wears them down and I don't want to see that happen.
- 1:05:48I want the Yankees to really concentrate.
- 1:05:51On keeping disagree, don't disagree with that.
- 1:05:55Goody. Well, goody, we got one other
- 1:05:58guy left here that I haven't mentioned.
- 1:06:00Jordan Westberg made his return to the Orioles line of the
- 1:06:04Orioles obviously not having the season they wanted, expected
- 1:06:07Westburg to be a big part of it. He came back hidden bombs.
- 1:06:12What is he? What is him and some of those
- 1:06:15other younger guys that have been banged up kind of going
- 1:06:17through their first full seasons, you know, together as
- 1:06:20this young team. What is what is a guy like that
- 1:06:22coming back do for a squad like that man?
- 1:06:27That's the B. Yep.
- 1:06:30I mean, they're going through their first full season, so you
- 1:06:32know, there's going to be a lot of ups and downs, trials and
- 1:06:35tribulations. And the good thing is they're
- 1:06:37going through it together. So they can they're going to
- 1:06:40struggle together, but when they catch fire, they're going to
- 1:06:42catch fire together. They're young guys, so you know
- 1:06:44that they're hungry. They have a lot to prove in this
- 1:06:46game. And so for him to come back and,
- 1:06:50and play the way that he's played recently, I mean, to me,
- 1:06:54if I'm managing, if I'm Manzolino, I'm thrilled.
- 1:06:59I'm ecstatic because I know I got a guy who's what we like to
- 1:07:02refer to as a grinder. Somebody's going to grind out of
- 1:07:05bats. And then right now he's playing
- 1:07:07great. So, you know, the season isn't
- 1:07:10turning out quite the way they wanted it to, but there's been
- 1:07:13some some bright spots in it. And you know, he happens to be
- 1:07:16one of them. No, I I goody.
- 1:07:20I agree too. When you get a when you get
- 1:07:24young energy and that brings it in to a clubhouse, it's
- 1:07:29completely different because we're just idiots.
- 1:07:32We don't know. And we do it and see what?
- 1:07:36And they got some young guys, and I love Adley Rutchman, but
- 1:07:40he's still young. Yeah.
- 1:07:43And you have that energy and I think that really brings that to
- 1:07:47them. And then you bring even some
- 1:07:49younger stuff and it's like, all right, well, here we go.
- 1:07:52Right. And I think think that's
- 1:07:56something that because I honestly, as on this show, I'm
- 1:08:04like, Orioles were what I thought was going to be
- 1:08:07something and they've turned into nothing.
- 1:08:13But now, yeah, I think we begged them.
- 1:08:14I think I had them second in the AL ES because I I just figured
- 1:08:18the young energy that they had when they were coming, you know,
- 1:08:20they're coming up together. They're still learning the
- 1:08:24league. They're still learning how to be
- 1:08:25Major League Baseball players. And so like, I was like, you
- 1:08:28know, they could screw around and, and, and be really good
- 1:08:32this year. And right now they're just
- 1:08:35hitting a valley and it's just, I mean, dude, it's just part of
- 1:08:38being a Major League Baseball player like you.
- 1:08:40The The thing is, is you just have to learn how to handle the
- 1:08:43adversity, learn how to handle the suck.
- 1:08:46And then once you once you learn how to do that and if they're
- 1:08:49doing it at a young age, as they become older and they stick
- 1:08:52around in the. League a little bit longer they
- 1:08:54can reflect on this time where they're just shitting the bed
- 1:08:58and be you know hey, everything's good we did that in
- 1:09:0225 we're chilling like we know how to pick each other up we
- 1:09:06know each other's cues like. It's a good, I mean, yeah,
- 1:09:10Oriole fans have a lot to be excited about.
- 1:09:12It's not going the way they want it now, but they have a lot to
- 1:09:14be excited about. Their team is is going to be
- 1:09:16good. All right, guys, we're running a
- 1:09:18little late, so we're going to call it right there.
- 1:09:20A lot of great stuff. We just went over inside.
- 1:09:23Thank you so much. I appreciate it.
- 1:09:25Thank you. Great show.
