Kendallville mourns the loss of SuzAnne Handshoe, its trailblazing first and only female mayor, who died at 66 after a courageous 10-year battle with multiple myeloma. A decorated Marine Corps veteran and five-term mayor from 2004 to 2023, she transformed downtown with a landmark grant that brought over 20 new businesses.
