- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey, it's been here on the Almost Famous podcast and
- 0:09Speaker 2: the end of the year is around the corner. So
- 0:12Speaker 2: we're talking with more Bachelor Nation alum about those moments
- 0:16Speaker 2: from the show that will never leave their mind. So
- 0:20Speaker 2: let's check in with Kathy Schwartz, Mercedes Northup, and Deanna Stagliano.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Okay, Dianna and Mercedes, I've wanted to ask you this
- 0:31Speaker 3: for a while. What is the bachelor moment that lives
- 0:36Speaker 3: rent free in your head?
- 0:38Speaker 4: What do you think, Dianna? What's yours?
- 0:40Speaker 5: That one time a bachelor didn't choose anyone? It changed
- 0:48Speaker 5: the trajectory of my life clearly. But it does like
- 0:51Speaker 5: he's the one guy you have. You have twenty five
- 0:53Speaker 5: or thirty girls there and you couldn't pick anyone. Says
- 0:57Speaker 5: more about him than it does me. Or maybe it's
- 1:01Speaker 5: maybe it says a lot about.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Me, y'all. Who was it? Who was the guy back? Oh? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:09Speaker 4: he bumped into him in Austin. He lives here.
- 1:11Speaker 5: He's so wonderful. I'm joking.
- 1:13Speaker 6: It does live rent free.
- 1:14Speaker 4: It's still single, He's still single. Ill it's to be
- 1:19Speaker 4: maybe not, I thought to.
- 1:20Speaker 5: Interpretation, but he's a great guy.
- 1:22Speaker 7: He's a great guy.
- 1:23Speaker 5: It does live rent free in my head though, because
- 1:25Speaker 5: I've always thought that and have never gotten that answer
- 1:27Speaker 5: from him. We stayed friends for a long time, but
- 1:30Speaker 5: it was like, I don't know, man, you have twenty
- 1:32Speaker 5: five to thirty women there, and you couldn't pick anyone,
- 1:34Speaker 5: like you don't have to marry them, but like you
- 1:35Speaker 5: didn't see anything in anyone that you might want to
- 1:39Speaker 5: go on a second date in real life, Like you
- 1:42Speaker 5: didn't want anyone.
- 1:43Speaker 7: I don't know why.
- 1:44Speaker 5: That's always but obviously thankfully he did not, and then.
- 1:48Speaker 4: He wanted everyone and couldn't just choose one.
- 1:51Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 1:55Speaker 5: There no no, But you know what, it is odd
- 1:57Speaker 5: because then when I became the Bachelorette, when I went
- 1:59Speaker 5: to the end of my season, ultimately when it was done,
- 2:02Speaker 5: I thought, oh, I kind of wish i'd have done
- 2:04Speaker 5: the same thing. You know, you get to know people,
- 2:06Speaker 5: and then I forced a relationship. I picked a guy
- 2:10Speaker 5: who I thought that I loved, and then within within days,
- 2:13Speaker 5: you guys, I was like, oh, crap, crap. So looking back,
- 2:17Speaker 5: I mean, hindsight is always twenty twenty. But I kind
- 2:19Speaker 5: of wish I would have done the same thing.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Damn, I wish I had the opportunity everything better where
- 2:24Speaker 3: we are.
- 2:26Speaker 4: What about you?
- 2:27Speaker 8: Oh my gosh, I feel like there's so many but
- 2:30Speaker 8: one that lives rent free my head. And it's because
- 2:32Speaker 8: it made the bloopers. If it didn't make the bloopers,
- 2:34Speaker 8: I probably would be like, oh, that was so fun,
- 2:36Speaker 8: but it wouldn't like live rent Free in my head.
- 2:39Speaker 8: So basically, and you guys can attest to the relationship
- 2:42Speaker 8: with the women like it is real friendships that you
- 2:46Speaker 8: can't even describe because you're in a situation together and
- 2:50Speaker 8: you just get so close so fast. But obviously you
- 2:53Speaker 8: know you're being filmed. But we had one night where
- 2:56Speaker 8: I feel like we all just completely forgot that there
- 2:58Speaker 8: was cameras around, and we were all we were listening
- 3:02Speaker 8: to music, just hanging out, and someone was like, all right,
- 3:05Speaker 8: who can teach us, like how to twork? And I
- 3:08Speaker 8: was and I was like I can, So we had
- 3:11Speaker 8: a full on like I literally taught the girls how
- 3:14Speaker 8: to twork and it was so funny. It was so
- 3:16Speaker 8: fun Again, we completely forgot the cameras around. And then
- 3:19Speaker 8: at women tell all we did the bloopers and that.
- 3:25Speaker 5: I could listen if you want to step back. I
- 3:27Speaker 5: could use a good lesson myself, the girls, I could,
- 3:34Speaker 5: I could use a solid lesson.
- 3:35Speaker 8: I was like, there's no way this is making national
- 3:38Speaker 8: television right now, Like this is actually insane.
- 3:41Speaker 3: And now for anyone who had forgotten Mercedes, you've just
- 3:44Speaker 3: brought it back to the.
- 3:48Speaker 5: We're gonna we're gonna have Kathy. We're gonna have to
- 3:50Speaker 5: find this video and use this promotional clip for this episode.
- 3:54Speaker 5: Mercedes just just popping in this.
- 3:58Speaker 4: This talker is looking for the man for dreams. Here
- 4:00Speaker 4: you go. Check her out.
- 4:02Speaker 5: She loves Jesus and she also knows how okay.
- 4:06Speaker 3: Mine, I got to tell you Mine that lives rent
- 4:09Speaker 3: free in my head and my children, unfortunately there's two
- 4:13Speaker 3: lives rent free in their head. Is me doing a
- 4:16Speaker 3: body shot on Paradise this past summer off of c
- 4:20Speaker 3: k who who was one of the guys on Jones season.
- 4:24Speaker 3: I didn't know what a body shot was. I thought
- 4:27Speaker 3: that was like a punching bag. I literally had no idea,
- 4:30Speaker 3: and I see them.
- 4:30Speaker 4: I had no idea. So that will forever live run free.
- 4:33Speaker 3: My first and last body shot hopefully ever in my life.
- 4:38Speaker 3: And then the but the sweet one, because I never
- 4:40Speaker 3: forget what Batchelor is about, and it's about love and
- 4:44Speaker 3: hope and connection and something we all want. And I
- 4:47Speaker 3: got to tell you, I have not watched every season
- 4:49Speaker 3: of Bachelor, but the one that the proposal that stands
- 4:54Speaker 3: out for me is Sean and Catherine's. And they're married
- 4:59Speaker 3: now with what I don't I think three kids. But
- 5:01Speaker 3: I'll never forget the look on her face. First of all,
- 5:04Speaker 3: I thought she was so beautiful anyway, and I just
- 5:08Speaker 3: the fact that they are happily married and together, to me,
- 5:12Speaker 3: was so evident in that proposal, you know, the way
- 5:15Speaker 3: he said, I'm going to tell you I love you
- 5:17Speaker 3: every day, and the look of raw emotion on both
- 5:21Speaker 3: of their faces. I honestly that there's been lots of
- 5:23Speaker 3: great proposals, but that that one.
- 5:26Speaker 4: And I can't wait to meet them.
- 5:27Speaker 3: I've never met them, but i'll meet them on the
- 5:30Speaker 3: on the cruise coming up in November. I can't wait
- 5:32Speaker 3: to meet them. I that for me was I want
- 5:35Speaker 3: some guy to say that have that look in his
- 5:37Speaker 3: eyes to me?
- 5:39Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, some people, I think it's just in
- 5:42Speaker 5: their destiny to go on the show and to meet
- 5:44Speaker 5: their person and live happily ever after.
- 5:46Speaker 4: And you are right, Kathy.
- 5:48Speaker 5: I think Sean and Catherine we were a great example
- 5:51Speaker 5: of that. Jason and Molly too. I am there are
- 5:53Speaker 5: there are, there are several good stories. But I just
- 5:58Speaker 5: find that interesting how we all went on there and
- 6:01Speaker 5: maybe we didn't find our forever after, but some people did.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Some people that was their path.
- 6:07Speaker 3: That's believing believe that it can work. And I believe
- 6:11Speaker 3: that that can work. So you know, I just love that.
- 6:14Speaker 3: I'm a I'm a weirdo. I've gone back and watched
- 6:18Speaker 3: that uh proposal, No really, because it's just like, yep,
- 6:22Speaker 3: it can happen.
- 6:22Speaker 4: It can happen.
- 6:23Speaker 5: See, Oh it's sweet.
- 6:26Speaker 9: It is.
- 6:28Speaker 6: Bachelor Bob Guinea.
- 6:30Speaker 4: All right.
- 6:31Speaker 9: So when I think of Bachelor moments in history that
- 6:35Speaker 9: basically will forever be etched in my brain, I have
- 6:40Speaker 9: many of my own, of course, you know my experiences
- 6:43Speaker 9: on Trista's season and then of course when I was
- 6:45Speaker 9: a Bachelor, But one that really stands out for me,
- 6:49Speaker 9: that is above and beyond is the moment where Jake
- 6:54Speaker 9: Pavelka and Vienna Girardi took their breakup on a one
- 6:58Speaker 9: hour special where Chris Harrison sat down with them and asked,
- 7:02Speaker 9: you know what's going on, guys? Can we talk about
- 7:05Speaker 9: what's going on with your relationship? And it turned into
- 7:08Speaker 9: something that I don't think anyone was anticipating, and it
- 7:13Speaker 9: became a pretty unbelievable moment. I got to know Jake
- 7:18Speaker 9: over the years, and he's actually a very nice guy,
- 7:21Speaker 9: but man, this moment, I remember thinking, this, poor dude,
- 7:24Speaker 9: who would have agreed to this? Like, oh my god.
- 7:27Speaker 9: He went on a show and he starts to try
- 7:30Speaker 9: and tell his version of events to Chris as to
- 7:33Speaker 9: why he and Vienna are breaking up, and Vienna chimes in,
- 7:37Speaker 9: you know, as one would in a conversation, and He's like,
- 7:40Speaker 9: would you stop interrupting? May god, she melts down, She
- 7:48Speaker 9: gets up and leaves. He's there to see she's just
- 7:50Speaker 9: always interrupting, you know, like just it was insanity, absolute craziness,
- 7:55Speaker 9: and I remember thinking to myself that it had to
- 7:58Speaker 9: be the biggest train wreck in televion history, at least
- 8:01Speaker 9: for me watching it. And I'll never forget it. And
- 8:04Speaker 9: as long as I swear, as long as I talk
- 8:07Speaker 9: about The Bachelor, stuff and think about my memories that
- 8:10Speaker 9: I have. I usually have those pretty rosy moments, all
- 8:13Speaker 9: puns intended, but I also think about how I could
- 8:16Speaker 9: have gone and this was where you would never want
- 8:19Speaker 9: it to go. So my moment is the Jake and
- 8:21Speaker 9: Vienna Battle Royale breakup interview.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Bachelorette Trista Sutter and Daisy Kent.
- 8:40Speaker 10: Hi, everybody, it's Trista and I am here with Daisy
- 8:43Speaker 10: Kent and we are going to share the moments that
- 8:47Speaker 10: live rent free in our head from the Bachelor and
- 8:50Speaker 10: the Bachelorette and all of our Bachelor experiences.
- 8:53Speaker 7: So Daisy, why don't you go first?
- 8:54Speaker 10: What is your rent free moment that lives in your head?
- 8:58Speaker 4: Okay, I have a few.
- 9:00Speaker 11: I would have to say one that I always think
- 9:01Speaker 11: of is Ari's season, just because I feel like the
- 9:05Speaker 11: end was so messy. I mean, everyone definitely ended up
- 9:09Speaker 11: like happy how it should be, and like everyone's happily
- 9:12Speaker 11: married and has kids now. But I just remember watching
- 9:17Speaker 11: that with my mom and we were both like.
- 9:22Speaker 7: Like jaw on the floor, totally. Yes, you're so right,
- 9:26Speaker 7: So what happened?
- 9:28Speaker 10: Yeah, explain for the people who may not recall it
- 9:32Speaker 10: as well as we do what happened at the end.
- 9:35Speaker 7: Of our season.
- 9:36Speaker 11: And I remember I was very invested in this season
- 9:38Speaker 11: because I loved Lauren on the show. But then Becca
- 9:42Speaker 11: was also from Minnesota, and so I was like, Okay,
- 9:45Speaker 11: Minnesota girl, I love her too, So I was like
- 9:48Speaker 11: very invested in it. And then he basically he picked Becca,
- 9:53Speaker 11: but then decided like later he actually wanted to be
- 9:57Speaker 11: with Lauren. After he had proposed to Becca, she had
- 10:00Speaker 11: a ring, so then he broke up with her, got
- 10:04Speaker 11: back together with Lauren, and then he proposed I think
- 10:06Speaker 11: to Lauraa after the final rows, but then Becca became
- 10:09Speaker 11: the bachelorette.
- 10:11Speaker 10: I mean, it all truly works out as it should,
- 10:15Speaker 10: but it was dramatic, like really dramatic, because I think
- 10:21Speaker 10: he broke up with Becca on camera, like I remember
- 10:24Speaker 10: them sitting on that couch.
- 10:26Speaker 7: It might have been at her apartment or something. Yeah,
- 10:29Speaker 7: oh my.
- 10:30Speaker 10: Gosh, it was and Becca didn't see it coming, yeah
- 10:35Speaker 10: at all?
- 10:36Speaker 7: Right, I don't think.
- 10:37Speaker 11: Yes, I think that happened like three times, hasn't it.
- 10:41Speaker 10: Well, Jason Mesnik and Mollie and Melissa Ryecroft. So he
- 10:48Speaker 10: ended up with Melissa and then at the after the
- 10:53Speaker 10: final rows. He was questioning like, is this relationship right
- 10:57Speaker 10: for me? And basically they broke up on stage, and
- 11:02Speaker 10: then Molly came out and.
- 11:06Speaker 7: I can't remember if he asked her at that point.
- 11:09Speaker 10: I don't think he asked her at that moment to
- 11:12Speaker 10: start to date, but I think right after the show
- 11:15Speaker 10: he was like, would you guys want to would you sorry,
- 11:18Speaker 10: would you want to you know, re invest in this relationship,
- 11:24Speaker 10: and she went for it, and obviously they're happily married
- 11:27Speaker 10: for I don't know, fifteen at.
- 11:29Speaker 7: Least years later.
- 11:30Speaker 11: So yeah, and then I remember too, and then pilot
- 11:37Speaker 11: Pete Peter Weber, he picked or him and Hannah Ann
- 11:41Speaker 11: got engaged and then he got and then he they
- 11:45Speaker 11: broke up, and then he wanted to be with Maddi Prewett,
- 11:49Speaker 11: and then I think they broke up too.
- 11:52Speaker 7: Yes, yes, that was that was messy. That was messy.
- 11:58Speaker 7: And then of course you throw in his mom and wow,
- 12:02Speaker 7: it was like fireworks, like you could not turn away.
- 12:06Speaker 10: It was totally a train wreck, you know on stage. Okay,
- 12:11Speaker 10: I have to ask the question, are rent free moments
- 12:14Speaker 10: like dramatic? Can they be positive moments or is it
- 12:17Speaker 10: just like jaw on the floor, like you can't believe
- 12:20Speaker 10: it's happening. Moment, funny anything, funny, dramatic, loving, okay, good loving,
- 12:27Speaker 10: thank you, that's my keyword, so my rent free moment.
- 12:32Speaker 7: I have a couple too.
- 12:34Speaker 10: I mean I've watched every season, so I don't know
- 12:36Speaker 10: how you can't have a couple, but very clearly they
- 12:42Speaker 10: have to be related to my story because that's the
- 12:44Speaker 10: most powerful story to me. And I have to say
- 12:50Speaker 10: the funny one for me, I'll share both. The funny
- 12:52Speaker 10: one for me was we were at the Space Needle
- 12:56Speaker 10: in Seattle on our overnight date. Yeah, and we were
- 13:01Speaker 10: having dinner at the restaurant up there, and Ryan hadn't
- 13:04Speaker 10: watched the show and I'm reading the card from Chris
- 13:07Speaker 10: Harrison if you'd like to forego your individual suites and
- 13:10Speaker 10: use this key, you know, blah blah blah. He was
- 13:13Speaker 10: like check please, and didn't even like I didn't even
- 13:17Speaker 10: finish the card.
- 13:17Speaker 7: He was like, Okay, that's funny. Here let's go. It
- 13:22Speaker 7: was so cute. He was so funny. I love that,
- 13:27Speaker 7: and I was.
- 13:28Speaker 10: And so many people still comment like if there's ever
- 13:32Speaker 10: if I ever post anything about us, there are constantly
- 13:35Speaker 10: people who are like, but.
- 13:36Speaker 7: Check please comment. I love that. So that was so funny.
- 13:40Speaker 10: And then of course the night we got engaged, because
- 13:45Speaker 10: and I have to say, from what I understand, I
- 13:48Speaker 10: think thirty one million people watched art engagement, which is wow,
- 13:53Speaker 10: crazy town numbers crazy, So I know a lot of
- 13:58Speaker 10: I would assume a lot of people maybe share this sentiment.
- 14:00Speaker 10: But yeah, it was the first time I really told
- 14:04Speaker 10: him that I was in love with him.
- 14:07Speaker 7: Yeah, and just.
- 14:08Speaker 10: To you know, have it, as Chris Harrison has put
- 14:13Speaker 10: it long a long time ago. It was lightning in
- 14:15Speaker 10: a bottle like it truly was. It was like, oh wow,
- 14:18Speaker 10: like this is this is it. He's my forever.
- 14:21Speaker 7: I found him and I was the happiest I've ever
- 14:24Speaker 7: been besides birthing my children and at my wedding.
- 14:30Speaker 11: I love that.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:32Speaker 7: So there's my ret free moments. I mean, there's so
- 14:34Speaker 7: many others. There's so many, so many.
- 14:38Speaker 10: But it's been a long time. I mean, this show
- 14:42Speaker 10: has been on the ear since two thousand and two,
- 14:44Speaker 10: so it has it's great moments.
- 14:46Speaker 4: Great reality Yeah.
- 14:48Speaker 10: Great reality TV, that's for sure. Okay, thanks everybody, there's
- 14:52Speaker 10: our rent free moments for you.
- 14:54Speaker 6: That was a lot of great moments.
- 14:56Speaker 2: Makes me want to go back and rewatch some of
- 14:58Speaker 2: these during the holiday break.
- 15:00Speaker 6: This has been so much fun.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I think next Ashley and I need to share the
- 15:04Speaker 2: moments that live rent free in our heads.
- 15:08Speaker 6: Until then, I've been Ben.
