Transcript
- 0:01[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Mile High Huddle Podcast with your football freeze, Chad Jensen and Zach Kilmer.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographical location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a state of being.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome in everybody to this episode.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's not Mile High Insiders per se, because neither Luke or Tom could make it tonight.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_02]: So it's just the Chad and Scott show.
- 0:29[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Chad, that Scott, Scott, welcome back to the airwaves here at M.H.H.H.Brow.
- 0:34[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, it's good to be here other than just typing away in the background trying to distract you while you're on and then everyone's a wild poppin' and saying, hey, hey, you're muted.
- 0:42[SPEAKER_01]: Come back in, so hello everybody, it's good to see you.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, that's a problem of mine every once in a while because I'll mute and then I'll go off screen to like check a tweet or something or something or something We're paying attention to and then I forget to unmute, but yeah, Scott's in the room almost every night guys.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: He's just not on camera.
- 0:59[SPEAKER_02]: And that's the way it is like, don't look, Denver Luke's stoked to see a great to have your buddy.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: Denver Luke was a huge Denver Luke supports our our show on on
- 1:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, good to see you, buddy.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for the support Chase.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: Great to see you Scott.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_02]: Haven't heard any of your thoughts on the Broncos since last spring.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm dying to hear what you think so far.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_02]: Well, Scott, since we're kind of in a buy anyway and we can, you know, pause, take a breath and and look back, take stock, so to speak.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: How are you feeling about the 92 Broncos?
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot.
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, we could, I could monologue on this for probably an hour,
- 1:45[SPEAKER_01]: part of it was, you know, part of my thoughts are, and I've told you all this before is Denver Bronco fans having grown up as a Cleveland born Atlanta sports fan, I've experienced a lot of trauma sports trauma in my life.
- 1:59[SPEAKER_01]: And I have said with love, the Broncos fans are spoiled more than once.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: And as these wins are piling up and piling up, win fourth in a row, win five in a row.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm in the background, listen to people just bitching and moaning and complaining, like, God, you're six and two.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_01]: You're seven and two.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_01]: You're, and then, you know, finally, you, and I think part, it's just the, you know, the competition.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_01]: You can win and still not feel good about it.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, but if we play,
- 2:31[SPEAKER_01]: We play the chiefs, if we play the bills, if we play the cults, or we play one of these top teams, we can't win like this.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: I understand that, but I've got some stats I've put in the, I've typed in the background before.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_01]: I want to talk about this defense a lot, but bottom line, a Twitter version of what I think about this team, you've got the best defense in the NFL.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: you've got an arrogant SOB winning assassin as your head coach with the clutch gene on offense.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: And you've got to hell with a kicker.
- 3:04[SPEAKER_01]: You know, and mostly good special teams, you know, the only bugaboo's is sometimes the slow start and then in some of the penalties, but you're winning in every phase of the game.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_01]: And even if one of them isn't clicking, you're not losing two out of three faces.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, we missed a field goal.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_01]: But the defense did good in the offense picked it up.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: But defense didn't play their best game today, but the offense did.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_01]: You know, there's a special teams picked it up.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_01]: So it's a full, it's a team effort.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's when you consider.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: That 15 months ago, the Denver Broncos took on the largest dead cap hit in the history of this game and they're still doing it and they're what 10 and 7, 8 and 2, or is it 9 and 2 now, so we'll just say 9 and 2, 9 and 2, 19 and 9, while taking on $85 million in cap hit with a rookie quarterback, are you choking me?
- 3:56[SPEAKER_01]: Remember the conversations we had about is a coach worth the first round pick.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_01]: Anybody want to argue with me again?
- 4:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that seems like ancient history now, bro.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_02]: But that was always something that you not advocated for per se, but we're like, hey, if it's for the right guy and turns out for the Broncos, Sean Peyton, right guy.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_01]: There are very few draft picks in the history of this game that are worth the Hall of Fame coach.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: And going back to the, well, he only won one Super Bowl with Drew Breeze.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_01]: Are you kidding me?
- 4:30[SPEAKER_01]: The Saints were the worst franchise in the NFL by some distance before Sean Peyton came up.
- 4:36[SPEAKER_01]: Winning the Super Bowl with Drew Breeze, his Vanderbilt win in a college football playoff except their dominance that are smart kids.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so it's what they did in New Orleans,
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: was astounding.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: And he did it when the NFC South was good.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: All four teams in a ten year span went to the Super Bowl.
- 4:58[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so it was what he did, Sean Payton's hell of a coach, and he should be in the Hall of Fame one day.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_02]: No doubt about it.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_02]: He, uh, he's a little crotchety at times.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_02]: And he's, uh, very long.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_02]: You're Iron people.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_02]: He's an A hole, but he's your A hole.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_02]: So who cares?
- 5:17[SPEAKER_02]: That's right.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_02]: Chase, thank you, buddy.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's really good to see.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_02]: We're all excited to have Scott with us tonight.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_02]: It's fun.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_02]: Pop a bear jumping in.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for the continued undying support.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_02]: Big dog.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: We love you.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_02]: We appreciate you every single night.
- 5:31[SPEAKER_02]: Good evening, Broncos country.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: David, thank you, big dog, really stoked to see everybody too sawn fill in the house.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: Good evening.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_02]: Chad and Deacon Scott, good Lord, it's Scott.
- 5:44[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: What is the chance we pick somebody up during this by week?
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I don't know, but
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: you know, they'll do workouts, they'll do all the regular stuff, but Scott, it was kind of interesting.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_02]: It's at least worth a talking point here at the top of the show, but the New Orleans Saints mutually parted ways with Brandon Cooks.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_02]: So he will hit the waiver wire.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_02]: Now as it stands, now Scott, you might correct me if I'm wrong on this, because I did a little research on it today, all right?
- 6:13[SPEAKER_02]: But after
- 6:15[SPEAKER_02]: If it's between weeks one and three, the waiver wire order is based on how the season preceding season ended right so the team that won the Super Bowl their dead last and so on and so forth so it's basically like the draft okay like reverse order not reverse order order the draft.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_02]: After week three, it falls to whatever the current records are.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_02]: So the Broncos technically right now at nine and two are the one seed in the AFC.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_02]: There are no nine win NFC team.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: So the way I see it, they're probably 32 in the waiver wire order.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: Doubt, if he gets claimed, Scott is making it to the Broncos.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_02]: But
- 6:51[SPEAKER_02]: Let's say he doesn't get claim.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos don't claim what you want to see the Broncos.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_02]: What it makes sense in your opinion, Scott, for Brandon Cooks at 32 years old to reunite with Sean Payton.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_01]: So, someone I think Roy just said, you know, he's already been picked up.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if he has.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think he has.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_01]: Um, no, absolutely, does it make sense?
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, here's, here's the question.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_01]: First off, he's old enough that I covered him when he was coming out of high school.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: I remember writing in his bio.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's from California up up north of L.A.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_01]: I remember writing in his bio has run away from you speed.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_01]: That was, that was the one thing I remember about him and he's gone on to a great
- 7:33[SPEAKER_01]: a great career is he the same guy know he's not.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_01]: And the thing is, Phil, any time you talk about picking somebody up, you have to ask yourself the question, who you cut.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_01]: Who are you cutting to ad-brand and cooks you cut and and especially if I'm going to do it the wider super room am I cutting Marvin mames no by cutting Troy Franklin nope my cutting Pat Bryant nope I'm cutting Portland Sutton no, okay, so where's where's he play and and then if I put him on the 53 who snaps is he taking do I want him taking Marvin mames snap nope
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: do I want to take control?
- 8:06[SPEAKER_01]: I could just go through the whole thing again.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 8:08[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, and if you can sign into a practice club, you didn't want to go to a practice quarter.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: You wouldn't have taken this release.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_01]: You want to go play somewhere.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_01]: So, I don't, I don't think he necessarily makes sense.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_01]: So, again, we're going to add somebody
- 8:20[SPEAKER_01]: Well, how and who and why?
- 8:23[SPEAKER_01]: So you're always looking for guys on the back end of the 53 for tweaks, injuries, practice laws, et cetera.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_01]: But am I going to add somebody that's actually going to make a difference to this team?
- 8:33[SPEAKER_01]: No, you're just, you're not.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's not going to happen this at this time of year.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's a late, it's late.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so there you have it.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_02]: Pardon me, there you have it, Phil, kind of interesting.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, there is that a lore a lot of Broncos fans were interested in at the fact that cooks had a couple of thousand yard campaigns with Sean Peyton before they traded him.
- 8:55[SPEAKER_02]: For a first round pick, by the way, to the New England Patriots, but he's 32.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_02]: He hasn't done much of note for about four years.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_02]: So do you really need him coming in when you just brought in little Jordan Humphrey and Humphrey, you brought him back, I should say, and he can block.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he can do kind of everything well, okay.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_02]: But his forte is he can block and now the Broncos have to make a decision on what to do with Mercedes Lewis because last week against the chiefs was his third practice squad elevation.
- 9:26[SPEAKER_02]: So they either got a sign him to the 53 or expose them to the waiver where.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and again, so who do you want off of the team?
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: And some of this happens naturally, you know, you have some surprises, right?
- 9:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, thoughts with Alex singleton, you have some surprises out there, injuries happen all the time.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: But for the most part, you know, the Denver Broncos have been, yeah, I don't want to jinx it.
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: They're not, I don't think I will.
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not in Denver.
- 9:54[SPEAKER_01]: This isn't my team.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: My only jinx, I'm only jinx for my team.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_01]: is they've been healthy, you know, and when we talked about, you know, the variance from year to year on health is one thing, but when you're four years in a row missing the most player games, something's wrong.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_01]: And you go from last, first, for two, three years in a row, for a player games, missed, something has changed.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not the altitude.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_01]: Denver didn't get any lower.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: I was in Denver a week ago, believe it or not, y'all.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: So I got to see the the I was at the Air Force Academy and got to see the got to see Nick and got to see the the Bronco at the state and it's the the culture's so different.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I come to Atlanta and I look up it as I'm leaving Atlanta.
- 10:44[SPEAKER_01]: I look up and there's a, a Patriot's 30 for 30 playing on the monitor and the thing.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_01]: I land in Denver and Garrett Bulls is giving me a welcome.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: You're all pro left tackle from the Denver Broncos.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_01]: Go Broncos giving me a welcome at the train.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, right, culture man, culture, that's right.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: That's another example of how Broncos fans are spoiled like it's, it's a religion
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: Colorado, Denver, you know, the Rockies and everywhere else, like wherever Broncos fans exist, Broncos, that's one of the things that I've noticed Scott over the years that we've been doing the media thing and being on networks and took me time to learn this, but some, I mean, we always know the bigger teams that travel like the Cowboys, the Steelers, the Packers, et cetera, but, you know, there's some fan bases are way more crazy also about their
- 11:40[SPEAKER_02]: plugged in, staying on top of everything all 12 months of the year, and Broncos country is definitely one of those, and I love it.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: I absolutely, let's think it from a geographical standpoint.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_01]: LA hasn't always had a team, Oakland, you know, has been a good rivalry, but you've been basically unopposed.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_01]: from Oakland to Kansas City.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_01]: That is a big swath of area in this country.
- 12:04[SPEAKER_01]: And if you've got the success to go with it and you're on TV in that area the whole time, you will pick up those fans.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_01]: The Atlanta Falcons had a similar chance.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_01]: There wasn't anybody from Cincinnati to Tampa to New Orleans.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: They got Tennessee, Kentucky football country.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: And instead they were, I mentioned the Saints as being the worst franchise.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_01]: 30 first and 30 in that area now, you know, now they pat they ended up having to compete with college football.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: So Denver has taken advantage of some of the natural advantage they've had.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: no doubt about it.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_02]: You were talking about health and some good news.
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: We titled tonight's episode around this is, you know, we heard the signs were all pointing toward positivity around Patrick's or tan.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_02]: Being available coming out of the by and I mean, it doesn't take a sure lot of homes to realize that as well.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_02]: Otherwise they would have put them on IR.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_02]: They chose not to because they obviously expect him back in time for what would have been the fourth game.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_02]: He would have been required to miss.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_02]: So that's Washington.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_02]: Jeremy Fowler reported Zach wrote this up today.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_02]: He reported that quote, Broncos are optimistic that both Alex Singleton and Patrick Sertan can make it back into the lineup week 12.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: So follow in the by.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: So there's some good news, additionally Scott on the health front.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_01]: Alex Singleton.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: God bless a man.
- 13:32[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, who's not going to be an Alex Singleton fan for the rest of our lives?
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Goodness gracious.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: And here's to advanced screening.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I mean, we hear these guys.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I didn't know what I was taking.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he got busted for what, you know, an elevated human human dog.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: HGH.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: HGH.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm not taking that.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: This is BS.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: And he was right.
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: Unfortunately, or fortunately, he was being honest, but he was honest, but it was, uh oh, Red flag.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, this is, this is bad.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_01]: So, I mean, it's, it's just an amazing story.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, we've given him plenty of stick for his limitations as a player, but he's been a,
- 14:13[SPEAKER_01]: What do we say?
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: It's DGD down here in the South, a damn good dog.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: He's a DGB, is Alex Singleton for sure.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_01]: And speaking of defense, talking about the health, it's awesome to think of when you hear these teams lose that are losing and all the excuses.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they didn't have a blah, blah, blah.
- 14:32[SPEAKER_01]: They didn't have a blah, blah, blah.
- 14:34[SPEAKER_01]: So this is the morning.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well, the Denver Broncos lost their Captain Green dot shot color in the middle of the field to testicular cancer.
- 14:44[SPEAKER_01]: He was out.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: They've been playing without their defensive player the year for several weeks and they're in the middle of a seven game winning streak.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: Their left guard, I believe, has been out for a while now, too.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yep, they're starting center.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_01]: Our, they're starting running back, it was out.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: And what did they do?
- 14:59[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, they just go beat the chiefs.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's it for their seventh win in a row.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't hear it.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_01]: Everybody has injuries.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: Good teams adapt and overcome.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: And they've got a system in place and a culture in place.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_01]: Where it truly does become next man up.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_01]: And they've got the depth to do it.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_01]: And again, to do that in the midst of an $85 million dead
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: is astounding.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: It really is.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_02]: no doubt about it.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: It's an achievement and hey, Broncos still have six games left to go, but you got to be feeling pretty good about this team's outlook moving forward, especially on the heels of that hugely symbolic and confidence inspiring victory over the chiefs who, yes, Sean Payton's got his here and there, beat him once, fair and square with my homes, the first year with Russ, beat the JV team last year in the season finale, and this time with
- 15:50[SPEAKER_02]: kind of for good.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: I think not not in the sense that the chiefs are going away.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: But Scott, you got to wonder how much longer Andy reads going to keep at it.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, if they don't make the playoffs, which right now, by the way, guys, there are two games behind the seventh seed.
- 16:05[SPEAKER_02]: So there's a distinct possibility, there are 500, 5 and 5.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_02]: If they don't make the playoffs this year,
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: No one what we know about Andy Reed.
- 16:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't imagine that he's going to walk away with a bad taste like that in his mouth.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_02]: So the chiefs aren't going away, but it was symbolic Scott and I think it's pointing toward there is a changing of the guard.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: They don't just dominate the division and that's why I was going to say Chad was it's not.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: it's not a separate the days of what was the streak out of was it nine was nine 16 games nine straight a fc titles it was so it's 16 straight games
- 16:43[SPEAKER_01]: Those days are history, those days are gone.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: It's not a fluke anymore, if Denver were to win a game, just to, hey, we won one out of 10 and now it's back to business as usual because they threw four interceptions in the right.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_01]: No, you expect it to be a dogfight when they go against each other.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: I don't necessarily say because things can bounce up and down so quickly.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't necessarily want to say a changing in the guard.
- 17:08[SPEAKER_01]: But last year, I don't think it's really a hot take to say
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: The Kansas City Chiefs were a mediocre team that were champions.
- 17:19[SPEAKER_01]: They know how to win.
- 17:21[SPEAKER_01]: They knew how to win close games.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, how many of those games came down to the last minute?
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos are doing some of that this year themselves.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 17:28[SPEAKER_01]: Last minute, last drives, pulling things out.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: One score victories, et cetera, et cetera.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: And again,
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: Denver's doing that.
- 17:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think they're probably still a year ahead of works.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: We expect to be last year's like, okay, let's get the get it together with, you know, get rid of rust, get to quarterback in place, be competitive, year two, which is this year.
- 17:49[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go 10 and 7 and make the playoffs, year three, we're really competing.
- 17:53[SPEAKER_01]: So I still think they're a year ahead.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_01]: And part of it, like I said, is because they know how to win games.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: They've got good special teams.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're, I've heard the complaints about RISI, but lots is a good kicker and Marvin Sims is a hell of a return man.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: Those go a long way.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: Bonyx is when he isn't thinking.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: he's really, really good, you know, just grip it and rip it and play, which is what happens when you get into two minute drills.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: And then the defense.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I wanted to hit some of the stats on this defense, just to highlight how good it is.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_01]: I saw someone else pop in Mark Kennedy, good to see you.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_01]: Go Broncos.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_01]: No relation.
- 18:35[SPEAKER_01]: No relation.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have all of the names.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm related like 50 Kennedys.
- 18:41[SPEAKER_01]: Kennedy in the family.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_01]: My father-in-law is Mark.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_01]: One of my mom's side.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_01]: I've got a mark, but I don't think there's any mark Kennedy's in the family.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're related.
- 18:53[SPEAKER_01]: So...
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: You hear number one defense, right?
- 18:55[SPEAKER_01]: We hear that.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_01]: Number one defense.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_01]: And there's different categories of defenses.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_01]: And you know, DVOA, EPA, ABC, EFG, the alphabet soup, all that kind of stuff.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: But there's a couple of things that really stand out to me about this defense.
- 19:08[SPEAKER_01]: And you heard Vance Joseph say it.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not going to argue with them.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: What's the key?
- 19:13[SPEAKER_01]: Third down red zone, okay?
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: And he says,
- 19:16[SPEAKER_01]: Vankos happen to be number one in both them, but they're not just number one, Chad.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_01]: They're not just number one.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_01]: Third down conversions.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: The Denver Broncos are 28.9%.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Well, that's number one.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_01]: So that must be good.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: But what what what do you mean?
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: What does that mean?
- 19:33[SPEAKER_01]: I need some context.
- 19:34[SPEAKER_01]: I need some perspective on this.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: Well, number two.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: is 33.7 percent.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: So there is a difference of first and second of 4.8 percent.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: 4.8 percent.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_01]: If I take 4.8 percent and add it to number two, number two, all of a sudden becomes 15.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_01]: Wow, so the Denver Broncos, the second team in third-down conversions in the NFL, is closer as close, it's the exact same distance to being 15th, as they are number one.
- 20:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's how good Denver Broncos are third-down defenses been.
- 20:17[SPEAKER_01]: Number two is that the gap is two to 15 is the same distance as one to two.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I can look at a line graph and see it's relatively flat.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: How could you, according to your recruiting rankings?
- 20:31[SPEAKER_01]: This is the 21st team.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but they got this, like, they're this almost the exact same points.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: It's number five.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_01]: What this is saying is there's not much difference between five and 15.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_01]: What this is saying is there's a huge gap between the Denver Broncos at number one.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_01]: and everybody else and that's astounding.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: This defense is so much fun to watch.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_01]: And that's why it's everywhere.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_01]: Jake, I'm on my middle of this week.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: It'll bring it.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_01]: Fans shows if we'll bring it from everywhere in anywhere.
- 20:59[SPEAKER_01]: That applies to the SACs too, right?
- 21:01[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I haven't looked at it since week 12, but I've put that one up here too.
- 21:06[SPEAKER_02]: I've got those too.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, dude, break it down.
- 21:09[SPEAKER_01]: So, SACs, Broncos are number one in SACs.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: We know that at 49.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_01]: And it's actually slowed down a little bit at feels like until did they have another game where they got 80 SACs?
- 21:21[SPEAKER_01]: Number two, believe it or not, it's actually the Atlanta Falcons, who can't.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_01]: who are like the worst sacking team in any time frame you can possibly think of.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: But one of the differences is that the Falcons have the second highest blitz rate in the NFL.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: So they're having to go after it and the Broncos around 9 or 10.
- 21:39[SPEAKER_01]: Broncos have 49 sacks.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_01]: The Falcons have 34.
- 21:43[SPEAKER_01]: So the difference there is 15.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_01]: So if I go from 34, who's number two in the Atlanta Falcons, and I take away 15 sacks for that same
- 21:53[SPEAKER_01]: I get to 24 and 25 to get between the Denver Broncos in Sacks, between one and two is the same distance as two and 25.
- 22:04[SPEAKER_01]: They're lapping the field, Chad, they are absolutely lapping the field, and they're not having to blitz their eyeballs out to do it.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_01]: That's crazy, dude.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_02]: And yeah, you're right, it feels like the sac slowed down a little.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_02]: But I mean, they did get to my home's three times.
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: It was their second game of the season with three or fewer sex.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_02]: The other game was exactly three sex.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_02]: So in other words, their season low is three sex.
- 22:29[SPEAKER_02]: But when you also scotter consistently, notch in five, six, seven, eight, sacks in a game, it adds a fast.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: You asked me how many sacks, how many times are you going to sack deck press cut?
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I held up this in the background.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: Three.
- 22:44[SPEAKER_01]: Because he normally takes about one and a half a game is what he averages.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: Let's double that.
- 22:48[SPEAKER_01]: So, my homes is tough to sack.
- 22:50[SPEAKER_01]: Dack press cut is tough to sack.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: You doubled what they are normally getting.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_01]: And ask, ask my homes if he was comfortable in the pocket.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_01]: you know, you're not always going to sack those guys, you know, Dan Moreno had vision beyond belief and could flick his wrist and the ball was out of there.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: He was one of the hardest guys, immobile and one of the hardest guys in the history this game to sack, but you can affect him.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_01]: You can affect him and by God, Patrick Mahomes was affected negatively again, 19 points again.
- 23:21[SPEAKER_01]: The last one that I pulled up the number one is red zone defense.
- 23:27[SPEAKER_01]: Now, this one isn't quite as drastic, the drastic kind of.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_01]: The red zone defense for the number one, Denver Broncos, who are number one in red zone, is 35.7% conversion rate.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: So teams are, about one out of three times, teams are punching in the end zone.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: Number two are the Rams at 43.8.
- 23:48[SPEAKER_01]: So the difference there is still 8.1%.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: the difference from two and 8.1% at it to theirs doesn't go all the way down to 25 like it doesn't sex, but it does go to eighth.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_01]: But you know what's interesting?
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: What did I say there's red zone defense was?
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: 35.7, how many teams in the NFL are below 50% Chad?
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: Take a guess.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_01]: Red zone red zone how many teams in the NFL the Broncos are third our number one at 35.7.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_01]: How many teams in the NFL allow less than 50% red zone touchdown percentage.
- 24:24[SPEAKER_01]: Five four four four and you're at 35 and you're almost half of it.
- 24:31[SPEAKER_01]: You're you're halfway underneath it.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_01]: Those are.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: mind boggling numbers that this defense is doing, and they're, they're the reason why you can struggle a little bit in the first half on offense.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_01]: You can work your rookie quarterback, I mean, your second year, but I mean, rookie, and then progress to the second year, when Jaden Daniels is getting beat up and isn't playing, and
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, you know, CJ Stroud in his third year is, is regressing a little bit, you know, even though Houston's defense is really good, too.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: Um, but, you know, we've seen some of these guys backtrack a little bit near to and here's Bonyx, who's not making the big mistakes, not taking many negative plays, keeping his team and game and it you say, you know, all you have to do is just not lose it.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: That's his game for three quarters.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, don't lose it for three quarters and then let's go make a plan win the game and the defense is going to keep you in it.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: So all that being said and good job digging that stuff up and the perspective on a people are going in man.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: Listen, I got to put a pin in what I was going to say.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: I want to grab Tyler goes.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_02]: I know Scott probably just covering down, but man, I miss you talking about the Broncos.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: Let's go Broncos defense wins championships.
- 25:47[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, Tyler.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_02]: I'm sure Scott misses you as well.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: But Scott, what I was going to say is,
- 25:53[SPEAKER_02]: You know, the Broncos is there.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of people have been bringing it up in the chat.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_02]: Some members, I want to I want to credit the first person I saw advocate for it was colon done them that, hey, the Broncos at the richest owners in the NFL, what if they just give the bag to VJ to keep them around?
- 26:12[SPEAKER_02]: Your guy that's been around the sport a long time and many different facets of it is there even a snowball's chance in hell.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_02]: That's possible in your opinion, not possible, but probable, you know, like in the cards.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_01]: that would be up to the individual, you know, does he want the headache of doing it again or I just want to run, you know, these guys are competitors.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_01]: They really are, but he's gotten a taste of what a pain in the ass can be to be in charge.
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so it depends on what this he want.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot, especially the defensive guys that seems like just the way they're built Chad.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_01]: that you can get lifetime defensive coordinators.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't happen so much on offense.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_01]: On offense, those guys, they, I don't know what it is about the defensive mentality versus offensive mentality.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: The offensive guys are more control-freeks and want to be in charge and want to have every aspect of it, where the defensive guys are more chaos merchants.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_01]: I want to break stuff.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know, so it would depend on him.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's gotten a taste of what it's like.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_01]: to have to be in front of the camera all the time and knowing about the contracts and doing all of these things that is asked of the head coach, the personnel, the contracts, the depth charts, et cetera, et cetera, as opposed to, you know, I don't have to, I can just coach, I can be, I've got in this because I want to coach, I can be a mad scientist and I can study and do all these things.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm gonna have more money than I've ever needed in my whole life and I got a good situation.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_01]: So it depends on him.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's possible.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_01]: But there's also, again, to make it to this level, you've gotta be extremely competitive and pretty damn egotistical.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: And when someone comes along and says, I want you to be in charge, come run my team.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's hard to turn down.
- 27:59[SPEAKER_02]: It is.
- 28:01[SPEAKER_01]: With a big massive pay raise that goes along with it.
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: Who wouldn't hire him?
- 28:06[SPEAKER_01]: If it goes belly up in three years, he's got a job immediately if he wants to go back and do it again.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: And he'll have more money than he's already put more money in his pocket than he'll ever need in a lifetime.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_02]: He made, I think, something like 12 million bucks with the Broncos, the first time around.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_02]: But, uh,
- 28:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, there are historical points where it's happened before you guys have heard me mention rereading son of bum for the Broncos book club with the members he talks about when he was the Dallas Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett got some play as the offensive coordinator was offered the Baltimore Ravens job the same job that John Harba ended up getting because Garrett turned it down.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_02]: because Jones, Jerry Jones, ponyed up and paid him to stay as O.C.
- 28:53[SPEAKER_02]: What the Brabans were willing to pay him as the head coach.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_02]: And so it happens, there are precedents for it, but from what I've heard from B.J.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_02]: multiple points from when this first start of getting broached to him, let's say within about the last year, and especially recently, it sounds like he's really relishing the opportunity to go do it again.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 29:14[SPEAKER_02]: Does that mean, you know, depends on how things probably too Scott turned out this season, like if they have one of those just wild.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_02]: all the way, you know, type of situations and hey, man, we've got the young quarterback almost everybody on our defense is young, we could, let's turn this into a dynasty, you know, it's possible, but I just from what he's said, it sounds like that's where his heart's at, not that he wants to leave the Broncos is that he wants to be a head coach again, like you said Scott, his is ambition.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: and knowing that I did it and it didn't work out and what I would do differently now.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's part of it also.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: Again, you don't make it to this level without being a workaholic obsessive compulsive.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: I slipped on coaches' couches as an intern from ages 20 to 25 years old to do this and I got my shot and it didn't work out.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_01]: I guess the best phrase
- 30:13[SPEAKER_01]: that he might think he needs to, he needs to give it another shot to.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_01]: So again, it doesn't happen very often.
- 30:18[SPEAKER_01]: And when we're talking about, well, there is precedent for this.
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: I would guess the multiples weren't five and six times.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_02]: Exactly.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_01]: What it was now like a lot in that time frame.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: 15, 16 million dollars in the top of systems are making two or three where it might have been four million versus two million,
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: it's all life changing money but you know he's the next if you were to take a head coaching job it's another $20 million in this pocket minimum.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yep and he's not the only one by the way today we heard from Tom Pelacero he dropped a list of the
- 31:00[SPEAKER_02]: A hot list so to speak of head coaching candidates under the age of 45.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: So BJ wasn't on that list because he's older than that, but guess who was a few names, including at the top Davis web who had some sniffs.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: At the back in January, it sounded more like coordinator gigs, but he was linked to the New Orleans, New Orleans head coaching job.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how much there really was to that to be honest with you.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't really think the reporting on it was that solid.
- 31:30[SPEAKER_02]: But Scott, he's because he's not an offensive coordinator, he's a Pascal coordinator, but it doesn't have the same protections for the Broncos where they could block.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: So like offensive coordinator, if he gets the right job, he could go, but he's being bandied about as like a matter of course, it's going to happen, could happen this year, future head coach candidate, but I don't know if I see that Scott right away, just because as you mentioned,
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: the offense.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, man, they get it done when the chips are down.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's been a little stutter stop though.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of been up down, up down consistency.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: He's not exactly the coordinator, but I guess his biggest, the biggest reflection Scott on on his candidacy as a potential guy moving
- 32:18[SPEAKER_02]: You know, he's kind of bent up and down, but again, gets a done when the chips are now.
- 32:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's more about Sean Payton.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's more about if there's one thing, the NFL is probably most crazy about young quarterbacks.
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: There's the most quarterback crazy thing in the world.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_01]: The next thing is young coaches Joe Brady got head coaching interviews because he was getting Sean Payton coffee for a year or two.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_01]: And then a year later, he's offensive coordinator LSU.
- 32:45[SPEAKER_01]: That's how he gets this job.
- 32:46[SPEAKER_01]: And
- 32:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, arguably the best wide receiving core and the history of the game and they do really well and all the sudden he's he's getting head coaching jobs.
- 32:57[SPEAKER_01]: Anybody that comes out from under Sean McVay, even though Sean McVay is the one calling all the place every every year or two, there's a new head coach coming out from under there.
- 33:05[SPEAKER_01]: So Davis taking this job was a reflection on his talent and the fact that, hey, Sean Peyton likes this guy, he's being groomed under Sean Peyton, we want a Sean Peyton and we can't get Sean Peyton.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll take the 33 year old version of him.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: He's probably not even that old.
- 33:24[SPEAKER_01]: But we want the young version of Sean Payton.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: That's what we're going for.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: And that's inevitable.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_01]: It's inevitable.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: So the bigger question is, you know, I've seen people say, you know, Joe Lombardi, you know, I want that offense.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, well, yeah, you're not getting that offense unless you get Sean Payton.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's the problem.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: with going after Lombardi.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: But an unproven, you know, the hope and dreams of the young up and comer with the upside is more tantalizing to the NFL right now.
- 34:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's kind of crazy too that like you said, it's the Sean Peyton effect.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_02]: Last year, a no-name position coach named Declan Doyle who coached the Broncos tight ends
- 34:14[SPEAKER_02]: by the newly hired Ben Johnson to come be his offensive coordinator.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_02]: He's another name that's getting bandied about alongside web now.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: He was literally a known name guy last year.
- 34:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like 90% of the league, if you say that name, no one knows who Declan Doyle is a year ago.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_02]: But Ben Johnson saw something and now he's probably if the bears keep doing something Scott, you know, if they keep moving forward, he's probably pretty close as well.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, how you doing, Michael?
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you again.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_01]: Probably sorry this morning.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: So it's good to see you again.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: And as always, appreciate all the support.
- 34:50[SPEAKER_01]: And thanks for being a mile, high, huddle member as well.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_01]: Phil coming in also, just who do we do with VJ leaves?
- 34:57[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's already, let's come back to that one, Phil.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to come back because we're finishing up on offense here.
- 35:02[SPEAKER_01]: Because I think you kind of already got your guideline up.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_01]: A few, if you have advances to leave.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_01]: You know, talk, when I'm looking at it, you look at trees because Sean McVeigh spit out an offensive, a coach all the time, Sean Peyton is still that guy.
- 35:20[SPEAKER_01]: Also, if you can find him young enough, and that might be one of the reasons he brings in a guy, he trusts like Joe Lombardy, I'm like nobody's going to hire Joe Lombardy to be a coach right now.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_01]: You know, he does exactly what I need him to do.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_01]: as my offense, but I need help, and he helps me.
- 35:37[SPEAKER_01]: So you're gonna lose, who are some of the other things, but when I'm looking at who gets plucked is find the defensive head coaches who are successful who have successful offenses, and that's one of the problems with having a defensive head coach.
- 35:50[SPEAKER_01]: If you're any good, you'll be lucky.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_01]: to keep your guy more than one year, and you're not keeping them more than two.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_01]: Tampa Bay is about to lose their third straight offensive coordinator to a head coach.
- 36:02[SPEAKER_01]: You go up and Mike McDonald's who in a great job in Seattle, Kobi Atkel, probably be a head coach next year, another defensive guy.
- 36:08[SPEAKER_01]: The har boss, John har boss a defensive guy, you know, so who doesn't get hired is the a lot of the times is
- 36:20[SPEAKER_01]: the guy who's holding the clipboard for the offensive head coach.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yep.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_02]: And that guy in another name I should say, and he's the assistant head coach, but he got a promotion last year to kind of sweeten his situation to prevent him from leaving.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_02]: And that's Zach Street, who a year ago was the offensive line coach, but then got promoted to run game coordinator, and then also assistant head coach.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_02]: He's a guy, Scott, I could see also because of that Sean Payton's sizzle,
- 36:49[SPEAKER_02]: going on to maybe first stop being offensive coordinator somewhere and then maybe a head coach, but guys, we got a built-in coordinator if BJ leaves, is he going to be anywhere near as good?
- 37:00[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the personnel's there, but coaching continuity scheme, one of his strengths, Bans Joseph, similar to Wade Phillips, what really made Wade Phillips so good was his situational play calling and that
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: study and then just knowing based on the study has got in game to call the right looks in the right blitzes or the right rushes or the right coverage and that is of course Jim Leonard who's coaching the secondary.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_01]: What did what did I know?
- 37:26[SPEAKER_01]: What did I see in advance to know that I could turn Jayquan McMillan loose and he could have such no the nickel blitz where did when did that become
- 37:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that's not the Broncos forte when I think of oh yeah, watch out for the nickel blitz that that's not what I think of when I think 49 sacks I think my god it could come from anywhere and it doesn't need to be the, you know, the jailbreak I'm not seven seven guys and dropping four and just matching up one on one and hoping I can do that because I've got Pat Sir tan back there.
- 37:58[SPEAKER_01]: I got Riley Moss.
- 38:04[SPEAKER_01]: They don't have to.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the Broncos blitz a lot, but they're strategic with their blitzes.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_01]: And then they've invested so well on the back side of their defense of with the guys they've got.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_01]: And you've got two first round picks in the second area now.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_01]: Millen was a draft pick.
- 38:21[SPEAKER_01]: I used to use the free ages.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: That was a couple years ago, but he was a guy that,
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: has overplayed his draft slot.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: You went and got a couple free agents in Brandon Jones and Fonga, who were playing well and then they're coached well and then you're really good up front, you know?
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: So it's...
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: It's all the pieces are there and you didn't think that's the thing is you didn't think they were two years ago.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: You're looking at these guys.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, okay, I got a seven from pick at one edge.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: I got a 145 pound 60 fifth pick and Nick Bonito at the other edge and Zach was always big fan of Zach.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: and then DJ Jones, a nice place for reagent for $10 million.
- 39:05[SPEAKER_01]: He wasn't overly expensive when you brought him in.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_01]: John Franklin Myers, a one-of-way guy from the Jets, who's this guy, Alex Singleton, you pick him up.
- 39:14[SPEAKER_01]: He's not even on a team, and they just, it works, it just works.
- 39:21[SPEAKER_01]: So I've said before, if you're just watching for the first time and you hadn't seen what I had set in the past,
- 39:30[SPEAKER_01]: I was surprised the George Peyton was kept Sean Peyton's and ego maniac and I was surprised he kept a guy in place.
- 39:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, especially one that had hired, oh my God, I'm old.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_01]: I forget things that have happened in the recent past.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_01]: Hat there, thank you.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_01]: It's like I can remember what happened in first grade, but I don't remember what happened in a year ago.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_01]: forgot hack it.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_01]: You hired hack it.
- 39:50[SPEAKER_01]: You traded for us.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_01]: You gave us a huge extension.
- 39:53[SPEAKER_01]: Those are three fireable offenses.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_01]: And then you bring in a new ego maniac general manager type, like Sean Peyton, I was surprised that George Peyton was still around.
- 40:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, fast forward now.
- 40:04[SPEAKER_01]: And this team is talented, deep, young, and there's money to be spent.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's everything you want out of your general manager.
- 40:14[SPEAKER_02]: Makes you wonder what Sean Peyton saw in George Peyton.
- 40:19[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, that was always a big question.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_02]: I was surprised as well.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_02]: We got chaos.
- 40:23[SPEAKER_02]: The mega monarch jumping in on super chat.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_02]: Welcome.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you, pal.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: And he says, chat's always a pleasure, buddy.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: But the deacon and gracing us with his on screen presence.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_02]: after a dragon's age.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_02]: Hope all as well, Scott, nine and two babies.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: Dragon Age is one of my all-time favorite PS3 games.
- 40:42[SPEAKER_01]: Believe it or not, Chaos, Mega Monarch.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm an old TNT guy too.
- 40:47[SPEAKER_01]: I was a math guy and you know, so it was fun.
- 40:51[SPEAKER_01]: So Dragon's age, maybe think of that.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_01]: I burned a hole in one of my like,
- 40:55[SPEAKER_02]: televisions with the with the logo is up there so much so thank you so much for the super and thanks to all of you for the welcome back it's good to be back I miss y'all too it's fun to have Scott back in the house George great pot tonight as always guys thanks good to see Scott hit the thumbs up really appreciate it let's grab a few member comments here we're we'll uh...
- 41:16[SPEAKER_02]: We've got a few more minutes to go.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_02]: I saw one here, let's see, Pro16.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_02]: Andy will end up being the third seed, and the Broncos and the Patriots will end up tied for first seed.
- 41:29[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos end up getting the one seed, that's how I see it happening.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_02]: Do you see Scott, the, I mean, right now, the longest win streak in the NFL is shared by the Broncos and the Patriots with eight straight wins, do you see the Patriots sustaining that maybe and is there enough of foundation?
- 41:48[SPEAKER_02]: They got momentum, but is there enough there in the same way that maybe the Broncos do?
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're gonna find a lot more out about the cults over the next month.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's been all, and good for them.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're playing,
- 42:00[SPEAKER_01]: Daniel Jones is playing really well.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_01]: It seems like in the recent past, one quarterback has had a resurrection season, genosmith in Seattle, Sam Darnold with the Vikings, Isha, it's Daniel Jones's turn.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_01]: And that eight and two, but you look at, they've won five out of the last six, okay?
- 42:21[SPEAKER_01]: Raiders and shit, even they started.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're best went on these things of Broncos, but that was so early.
- 42:28[SPEAKER_01]: What you can even tell, you know, they beat in the Titans twice, Yippee, they lost at Rams, they beat the Raiders, they beat the Cardinals.
- 42:38[SPEAKER_01]: Lost at Steelers beat the Falcons, you know, their next games coming up are at Chiefs who are desperate and a solid team, versus a rejuvenated Houston Texans team who started off Owen three or now five and five.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_01]: So they're five and two in the last seven games.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_01]: At Jaguars, who are a quality opponent this year, and then at Seahawks against the 49ers, against the Jaguars at Texans.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_01]: Their next eight games are seven.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_01]: I can't do the math on seven games, dude.
- 43:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and harder than all but like one of their first nine.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_01]: So if they go three and three out of that bunch, again, I can't do math.
- 43:20[SPEAKER_01]: 17 games is totally screwed me.
- 43:22[SPEAKER_01]: Three and four, they're still 11 and six, which is way above what you're expecting.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: You take that if I offered you 11, five from the Coldstands, 11 and six in August, they would rip your hand off for it.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_01]: but it'd be a little bit disappointing, but I can see three and four within 11 and six finish.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: And then you talk about the Patriots.
- 43:42[SPEAKER_01]: Man, I still don't know how good they are.
- 43:43[SPEAKER_01]: I really don't.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're, they've got the belief now is what helps, I think, but in the win at Tampa was probably their best win of the year.
- 43:56[SPEAKER_01]: But, you know, beating, they've won what?
- 43:59[SPEAKER_01]: They are nine and two and if one, they've won seven and a row as well.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_01]: way, wouldn't the pills were right in their little mini, you know, the bills got whipped by the Falcons the next week, we haven't won a game since at Saints to an eight at Titans tanking Browns enough said against the Falcons enough said at Buccaneers, that was a good win, Tampa's a solid team, especially in Tampa.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: And then against the jets, man.
- 44:25[SPEAKER_01]: But you finish off, and you go at Bengals, we don't know what the hell they're doing right now.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_01]: The giants are already looking towards next year.
- 44:31[SPEAKER_01]: The bills will be tough again.
- 44:33[SPEAKER_01]: At Ravens at Jeb's first dolphin.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_01]: So I can see them winning, how many of you have?
- 44:39[SPEAKER_01]: One, two, three, four, five, six games left.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_01]: I can see four and two out of that and 13 and four makes sense.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_01]: But I don't know how good they are.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I don't know that there's not a super power team this year.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: There's a lot of good and there's some awful.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: There's just some dreadful relegation fodder at the bottom should be kicked out of the league teams.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: But there's not, it's open, it's wide open this year, I think.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_02]: David Yunkin, thanks for being the member, the awesome member that you are, VJ's defense so hard to figure out.
- 45:19[SPEAKER_02]: So if we play the Patriots, our defense will be better than the Patriots.
- 45:23[SPEAKER_02]: Our defense is better than anybody else's defense.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_02]: That's a fact big dog.
- 45:28[SPEAKER_02]: Boop boy.
- 45:29[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, yeah, yeah.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_02]: I wondered if it was you, dude, because of the chaos.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_02]: And then of course, kind of your, your, your vernacular.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_02]: But yeah, thanks for jumping in again, bro.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_02]: So totally forgot, I was on my other account, chaos the mega monarch between the cheese and the ravens.
- 45:45[SPEAKER_02]: Who gets in?
- 45:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think the cults knock out the cheese next week.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: I really don't.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: I think the chiefs are going to get back on the horse against the cults, but we'll see.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_02]: But what's your answer here for chaos, Josh, the boot boy between the chiefs and the ravens for the playoffs?
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: That's tough.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_01]: I don't really want to count either one of those teams out, but I'm telling you, one of the teams to watch.
- 46:09[SPEAKER_01]: Don't count on the Texans.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_01]: Don't count on the Texans.
- 46:12[SPEAKER_01]: They probably have a little bit easier schedule, and they're playing pretty well right now.
- 46:16[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think they, I wouldn't count the Texans out of this.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_01]: The ravens are so dependent on Jackson who, you know, is he back, you know, they're super dangerous, but I don't think they've been playing that.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_01]: They've won foreign row bears at Dolphins at Vikings at Browns after losing Lions Chiefs Texas Rams.
- 46:38[SPEAKER_01]: So they're one of those, they're a legit five and five team.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_01]: They've beaten some teams, they should beat, they've lost us some good teams.
- 46:48[SPEAKER_01]: It's just they all seem to be clustered, so they look really streaky.
- 46:52[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm here to party.
- 46:54[SPEAKER_01]: Who the heck is this guy?
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: And Blacks, that's prep, man.
- 46:57[SPEAKER_01]: You have buddy.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_01]: Good to see you.
- 46:59[SPEAKER_01]: I know he's here to party, so good to have you.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but you can say Colts Colts care the chiefs I wouldn't I wouldn't count out the don't count the Texans man.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_01]: I really wouldn't
- 47:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's kind of crazy how that AFC South is shaping up because, you know, we're just got done talking about the cults sitting at 8 and 2 coming off a buy.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_02]: Jaguars just blew out the chargers, 6 and 4.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_02]: Texans are nipping right at their heels.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_02]: The Scotch has said they're 5 and 2 in their last 7 games.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_02]: That's an interesting division, especially Scott, as you look at those teams, remaining schedules respectively.
- 47:34[SPEAKER_02]: So,
- 47:35[SPEAKER_02]: it'll be interesting, but the Ravens believe it or not, they're only one game behind the Steelers in the AFC North, so they still have everything to play for.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_02]: The Chiefs throw is where the Ravens could get in that way for sure.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_02]: That's one way.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_02]: The Chiefs though, it's like, if they lose one more, do they lose their heart, you know, because like they're already four games basically back from the Broncos.
- 48:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, Colts, at Cowboys, Texans, Chargers, at Titans, Broncos Raiders.
- 48:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's no cakewalk of a schedule for them either.
- 48:13[SPEAKER_01]: And that's the way it should be when you've got the number one type of schedule.
- 48:17[SPEAKER_01]: It's supposed to be hard.
- 48:18[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, they put in artificial constructs to punish you for doing well and try and prop you up for doing bad.
- 48:24[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of opposite of what we normally think.
- 48:30[SPEAKER_02]: We're pretty much through the vertical feed testing phase.
- 48:34[SPEAKER_02]: So thanks for staying with us.
- 48:36[SPEAKER_02]: And it's looking like we're going to just keep it with the old way we've always done it with the landscape, just because we have such a dedicated built-in, awesome community that's just used to things a certain way.
- 48:49[SPEAKER_02]: And just because we do it that way, the old way, so to speak, doesn't mean we can't grow.
- 48:55[SPEAKER_02]: So stay patient.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for being with us.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_02]: Um, okay, let's see what Bronx is here.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_02]: I was hearing that the AFC teams would not want to play at Empowerfield of Mile High and a playoffs at the Broncos get the one seed.
- 49:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I mean, it's a tough place to play.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_02]: They've won 11 straight at home, longest current active home winning streak as well.
- 49:15[SPEAKER_02]: And then, you know, look, look what they did to the chiefs, the chiefs were favored in that game.
- 49:21[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's just, it's never been part of me a very hospitable
- 49:26[SPEAKER_02]: place to play for teams, just because of the two factors, right?
- 49:29[SPEAKER_02]: Because of the thin air and then, of course, Broncos fans just being loud, but in the playoffs, if you have the home field advantage, it becomes even more daunting.
- 49:39[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, no one wants to, but they will, if they must, they'll come play and face the Broncos, they'll have to be ready.
- 49:44[SPEAKER_01]: I tell you, I'd want to get out there early.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_01]: If I knew I was playing the Broncos, let's say Broncos have a number one seed.
- 49:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'd want to get out to Colorado Springs or Fort Collins or something.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_01]: And I'd want to be out there all week because it makes a difference.
- 49:58[SPEAKER_01]: You all know if you've been, you've most not everybody's been in Denver.
- 50:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's a number Broncos fan.
- 50:02[SPEAKER_01]: I know, but you know, just being there a week ago and, you know, watching my son play baseball who's in phenomenal shape.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: He's like,
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: It got me, you know, it was weird.
- 50:12[SPEAKER_01]: I think 7,000 feet in Colorado Springs and he's like, you know, there's these out there trying to play.
- 50:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's like, it got me.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know what gets me though, Chad.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_01]: This guy.
- 50:24[SPEAKER_01]: This guy, Dale, it is awesome to see you.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for the love of you've been incredible.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_01]: Just an incredible,
- 50:32[SPEAKER_01]: mile high huddle host to this guest here.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you so much.
- 50:37[SPEAKER_01]: Dale says, DW, out of Hawaii says, good to see you Scott bringing the knowledge again.
- 50:42[SPEAKER_01]: Happy to see this past Sunday's signature winning against Mahomes.
- 50:45[SPEAKER_01]: What would be even more satisfying is do it in their house later in the schedule.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: We're still not playing clean at our best Broncos for life.
- 50:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the 10 penalties.
- 50:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and it wasn't just a 10.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_01]: The Chiefs had 10 also.
- 50:59[SPEAKER_01]: It was a 100.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that I've ever seen 167 yards of 16367.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_01]: 160 plus yards.
- 51:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know I've ever seen 160 plus yards of penalties in my life chat.
- 51:09[SPEAKER_01]: That wasn't saying.
- 51:11[SPEAKER_02]: Well, it happens you're the couple of, yeah, a long past and a fair answer once the Riley Moss thing, which, you know, he's, for the first time, he's really addressed it saying I got to get that figured out.
- 51:23[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the two PIs and then he wiped out a pick six off the board of Joe Day Baron with a defensive holding two of them were ticky tack, but he's, he's got to know by now that he's in the crosshairs and he's just got to play a little bit cleaner, but yeah, isn't that wild, D-dub?
- 51:37[SPEAKER_02]: The Broncos have won eight in a row.
- 51:39[SPEAKER_02]: They're nine and two.
- 51:40[SPEAKER_02]: They have the best record in the NFL hitting their buy week.
- 51:43[SPEAKER_02]: And they still probably haven't shown us their cleanest or best complete or most complementary collective performance.
- 51:52[SPEAKER_02]: So if Sean Peyton can get to the bottom of these deck on penalties.
- 51:55[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, it's one week after another.
- 51:58[SPEAKER_02]: Last week against the chief scout was no exception.
- 52:01[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, the Broncos went into the game.
- 52:03[SPEAKER_02]: What was it ranked 30 first?
- 52:05[SPEAKER_02]: Second.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_02]: I think for the first time they weren't first for like a month and a half that for the first time they weren't first if I recall
- 52:13[SPEAKER_02]: They were second, but still way too many penalties.
- 52:17[SPEAKER_02]: And if they can get that figured out in Bonix, whatever, Zen, he was feeling between the ears and that whatever allowed him to kind of rise to the way he did against the chiefs and play.
- 52:30[SPEAKER_02]: He played really well throughout the game.
- 52:33[SPEAKER_02]: Broncos are going to be tough to be, because it's Scott did a good job illustrating earlier in this episode.
- 52:38[SPEAKER_02]: Boy, oh boy, is that defense just
- 52:43[SPEAKER_02]: love you.
- 52:44[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for your support.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_01]: You to man.
- 52:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I know it's frustrating for Broncos fans to watch these games because not only do the Broncos have the most penalties in the NFL, the teams playing the Denver Broncos have the most penalties in the NFL.
- 53:02[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_01]: It's it's it's flag happy.
- 53:07[SPEAKER_01]: We'll just throw in flags all over the place.
- 53:10[SPEAKER_01]: So there's there's
- 53:11[SPEAKER_01]: You know, who's got the most penalties, the Broncos are number one.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, who's number two, Broncos opponents?
- 53:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 53:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's frustrating.
- 53:19[SPEAKER_01]: Swallow your flag sometimes if you can.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, again, I saw, you know, I've seen some of this stuff on Riley Moss, you know, the holding on the pick six was questionable.
- 53:29[SPEAKER_01]: um, and away from the play.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_01]: It was questionable, um, you know, as as Romo was saying, you know, as you're saying, well, he was right.
- 53:36[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, he's doing this.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_01]: He goes, okay, now let's watch every receiver on every play and see him anytime.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_01]: You see that, and it not get called.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yep.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, as what, as Romo was saying, and then another one was a scramble drill, you know, where he had to come back to it, and that that's bad news when you when you're covering that long as a corner.
- 53:54[SPEAKER_01]: So that was another one.
- 53:59[SPEAKER_01]: Again, thank you for the support, and again, as much as anything, thank you for the welcome to a mile-how-how-how-how-how-how and Broncos country.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_02]: Love you, buddy.
- 54:07[SPEAKER_02]: Hope to see you tomorrow night, guys.
- 54:08[SPEAKER_02]: We're doing a special raffle tomorrow night, Thursday, for the mile-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-how-
- 54:16[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to be raffling off to the superstars in the chat this mini, uh, one of the comments.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_01]: Sweet.
- 54:21[SPEAKER_02]: It's no cat helmet.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_02]: So hope to see you guys there tomorrow night.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's going to be a gas.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_02]: Uh, by the way, be red.
- 54:29[SPEAKER_02]: Hit those like buttons.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_02]: Nine likes.
- 54:30[SPEAKER_02]: Am I seeing that right, guys?
- 54:32[SPEAKER_02]: Well, maybe on the vertical stream, but regardless of how you're watching it right now, YouTube, vertical landscape, Facebook, guys, just take half a second real quick.
- 54:42[SPEAKER_02]: Make sure you like
- 54:44[SPEAKER_02]: a ton for the algorithm as they say.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_02]: Be rad, though, says Scott, good to see you again.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_02]: This defense is on par with the no fly zone.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_02]: It might be better guys, honestly.
- 54:54[SPEAKER_02]: They're on fire.
- 54:55[SPEAKER_02]: A new playmaker shows up and shows out every week.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_02]: I need a Jame Actors next.
- 55:01[SPEAKER_02]: Well, careful before you do that because he's probably not long for Denver.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_02]: He's a restricted free agent after this season.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know, I think they will, but nevertheless, then after next season, they'll have to decide whether to pony up and so anyway.
- 55:22[SPEAKER_02]: I'm not trying to dissuade you from support in the team or J. Mac or anything like that, but just factor those things in.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_02]: Would you say those Scott, his premise here that this defense, 2025 Brock, is as on par with the world champion 2015, no flies on.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't watch the 2015 enough to be able to make a comment on that beyond looking up some stats.
- 55:44[SPEAKER_01]: And that's just
- 55:47[SPEAKER_01]: you know, I don't know if they were as good every week or, you know, if they, they got hot, you know, I don't, I don't, I'm ignorant on that apologies.
- 55:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's okay.
- 55:59[SPEAKER_02]: I will tell you that I think they might be better now.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_02]: That sounds, you know, like, uh, here is, you know, here's, you know, here's see or whatever the word is.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_02]: I'm having the brain fart, but because there were so many
- 56:15[SPEAKER_02]: Hall of Famer and Democracy, where future Hall of Famer von Miller, keep to leave Chris Harris, all those names TJ Ward, but this defense might be better.
- 56:24[SPEAKER_02]: That's my, that's my honest opinion.
- 56:26[SPEAKER_02]: Chase wants to know, by the way, guys, we're about out of time.
- 56:29[SPEAKER_02]: Any burning questions, topic, supers, get them in the chat.
- 56:32[SPEAKER_02]: Now while we still got Scott, Chase says Scott, what are your thoughts on our draft class?
- 56:37[SPEAKER_02]: So Baron, first round pick,
- 56:42[SPEAKER_02]: RJ Harvey, second round pick, Pat Bryant, third, Q Robinson, fourth, we can keep going, the punter in the six, your thoughts for chase.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think you are in the enviable position of having
- 56:56[SPEAKER_01]: quality depth and veteran depth on the team that you're not reliant on your rookies and you're able to work them in at their speed and they're able to provide quality depth and reps when they come in.
- 57:10[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I want to see more from RJ.
- 57:12[SPEAKER_01]: JK Dobbins was killing it.
- 57:13[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 57:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, JK was JK is a damn good veteran running back.
- 57:18[SPEAKER_01]: of just in running back should be a fairly easy position to come in and contribute.
- 57:22[SPEAKER_01]: But it's still the NFL.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_01]: The leap people don't understand the leap from college to the NFL.
- 57:27[SPEAKER_01]: How big it is.
- 57:30[SPEAKER_01]: We're watching Troy Franklin take the next step.
- 57:35[SPEAKER_01]: That's been able to let you work Marvin of Pat Bryant and slowly, you know, not I don't need him right away.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_01]: Some of the defensive guys for sure.
- 57:47[SPEAKER_01]: If you spend a first round pick on a guy and he's being outplayed because that guy's playing in a first round level, it doesn't matter where you got him.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_01]: It makes millions playing in a first round level.
- 57:58[SPEAKER_01]: Now I can figure out, okay, how do I want to work my rookie in?
- 58:01[SPEAKER_01]: I don't have to force him in there because I don't have anybody else, which is the case for a lot of other teams, especially in the secondary where you need six corners.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_01]: So this team is well-coached, deep and talented and it is a tough roster for a rookie to break into.
- 58:22[SPEAKER_01]: And that's a good thing.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_01]: It's one of the reasons you're looking at a record at nine and two.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_01]: It's a tough.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to see our rookies more.
- 58:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to see more wins.
- 58:31[SPEAKER_01]: I'd like to see nine, I like to see nine and two.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen plenty of teams with rookies playing, they're not nine and two.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_02]: Well said, filled the answer, sorry if we didn't get you earlier, but the answer is if the if the Broncos lose VJ to a head coaching higher elsewhere, they will get two third round picks.
- 58:48[SPEAKER_02]: That's the answer, my friend.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_02]: D dub jumping again jumping in again off the top rope as we're about out of time.
- 58:55[SPEAKER_02]: dude, thank you for your generosity, big dog.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_02]: Love you.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_02]: He says, my daughter's new husband is a stealer fan.
- 59:01[SPEAKER_02]: First Sunday, while meeting his parents, he told her he had a jersey for.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_02]: She says, dad, I sat him down and told him it would be good to have the conversation now.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_02]: I will never wear that jersey ever.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a Bronco.
- 59:18[SPEAKER_02]: love my girl dude how that's a proud pop a moment you raised him right you raised him right dde what is what an awesome what an awesome thing but you know sometimes that can be fun you know one of my best friends growing up that I've known since we were like eight and nine years old his he's a he grew up a dolphins fan so I was always pretended to be L. way he was pretending to be marino right in the 80s well low and behold he marries a girl from upstate New York and
- 59:49[SPEAKER_02]: for low bills, so, you know, Charlie, charge it to the game, but that's really cool.
- 59:53[SPEAKER_02]: He does.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_01]: I've been watching some of those reels on Instagram, you know, about, and it's, it shows some daughters talking about their dads, yeah.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, just like setting the example of how to treat your mom, how to treat the family, how to, having, having the dad in their lives and how important it is to them.
- 1:00:13[SPEAKER_01]: and sounds like you've left your mark, proud pop of for sure.
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Dale.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, that's so rad.
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_02]: I would be proud.
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_02]: So that's really cool.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks for sharing with us, Dee Dove.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_02]: Nage, good to see you, bro.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_02]: Brothers, Super Bowl bound, taking the fam to the commander's game.
- 1:00:30[SPEAKER_02]: Hopefully another dub, be well, brothers, YouTube, big dog.
- 1:00:34[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you.
- 1:00:34[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm sure that's going to be an awesome family experience.
- 1:00:37[SPEAKER_02]: And you don't have to wait too much longer, about a week and a half.
- 1:00:43[SPEAKER_02]: Scott, your final thoughts here, and then we'll wind it up.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_01]: So stupid, I'm looking to see who the commanders are playing this week.
- 1:00:48[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, okay, you're just going to begin.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_01]: Mike, wait, they're on a bias.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, oh, he meant like when the Broncos play them.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm nuts.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_01]: So thank you, Nage.
- 1:00:58[SPEAKER_01]: Um, yeah, that'll be, it'll, it'll be a, a good time.
- 1:01:03[SPEAKER_01]: Final thoughts on the Broncos of this isn't the finished product.
- 1:01:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's what can be so exciting.
- 1:01:12[SPEAKER_01]: They're nine and two.
- 1:01:13[SPEAKER_01]: Are they a perfect nine and two?
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_01]: No, there's flaws.
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's why they look to acquire new players, why they coach, why they practice, is why they do new things.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_01]: Every day, they have their flaws.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_01]: They're not a perfect nine and two.
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_01]: This is not a finished product.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_01]: They're a year ahead of schedule.
- 1:01:30[SPEAKER_01]: They got money and another full-sotted draft picks next year.
- 1:01:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's next year.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_01]: wouldn't surprise me a bit, see the Denver Broncos in the Super Bowl.
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_01]: Why not?
- 1:01:47[SPEAKER_01]: Who's the favorite?
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_01]: The Colts?
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe?
- 1:01:51[SPEAKER_01]: What have the Colts done in the last 15 years that make you think that they're going to be at?
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_01]: The Chiefs, they might even make the damn playoffs.
- 1:01:58[SPEAKER_01]: The Ravens, when's the last time we saw them?
- 1:02:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, they're they're sitting there at five and five,
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_01]: not sold on them either and i'm not sold on the broncos okay who are you sold on that would be my answer well the broncos are okay well who's the team then if it's not the broncos then who is it and why why are they so much better than Denver they're not why not Denver why not those are my final thoughts you've got you've got the coach you've got a good
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_01]: good special teams and momentum.
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_01]: Those are all good things taken into December.
- 1:02:40[SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
- 1:02:41[SPEAKER_02]: That's awesome.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I agree.
- 1:02:43[SPEAKER_02]: Nage, this will be my son's first ever game man.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_02]: I hope we show out.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_02]: I think you will.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_02]: I think you will.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_02]: You'll see the Broncos take care of business.
- 1:02:50[SPEAKER_02]: But guys, thank you.

- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_02]: And guys, his link, so if you don't want to have to search in the description of this video, right next to where it says the two host names, next to Scott's name is not his Twitter account.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_02]: It's his YouTube channel.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_02]: So just click that.
