- 0:02Speaker 1: All right, Faithfuls and Traders, welcome to another episode of
- 0:04Speaker 1: By Order of the Faithfuls, Dancing with the Stars, the
- 0:07Speaker 1: next pro edition, episode seven. We are on Wells Adams
- 0:11Speaker 1: here alongside Dolores Catania. Dolores, how are you?
- 0:15Speaker 2: I'm so good, Wells. This was a good episode. I know.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I'm finding myself bummed knowing that we only have two
- 0:22Speaker 1: episodes left, this one and then I guess the finale.
- 0:27Speaker 1: But yeah, this was a good one. A lot of
- 0:28Speaker 1: dancing in this one.
- 0:30Speaker 2: A lot of dancing. And here's the thing, like I've
- 0:33Speaker 2: never been like this with anyone, but I don't know
- 0:35Speaker 2: why I'm like this with you. I don't want Adele
- 0:37Speaker 2: to win because I don't want you to be right.
- 0:39Speaker 2: It's crazy. She's going to win.
- 0:42Speaker 1: I don't know. After Selena's dance, I am starting to
- 0:46Speaker 1: think that maybe she's a stronger dancer, especially with her
- 0:51Speaker 1: commercial background than Adele. I'm not sure, but I still stand.
- 0:55Speaker 2: I'm rooting for them all. I am absolutely rooting for
- 0:59Speaker 2: them all, to be honest.
- 0:59Speaker 1: They all should get to be pros. They're so good.
- 1:03Speaker 2: Oh yeah. I think they are all good enough to
- 1:06Speaker 2: do it. See, but the biggest thing is, and I'm
- 1:10Speaker 2: going back to last week when Adele was teaching, which
- 1:14Speaker 2: would be her job. The worst thing I've seen Adele
- 1:17Speaker 2: do yet is teach a regular person. Yeah. She like
- 1:24Speaker 2: eviscerated the guy while she was teaching him. She's an
- 1:28Speaker 2: amazing dancer, the best dancer up here, but she, You
- 1:32Speaker 2: need everything. You need a personality and you need to
- 1:38Speaker 2: dance and you need to teach. You need to be
- 1:40Speaker 2: the triple threat, which your wife is. You can tell
- 1:44Speaker 2: Sarah I said that. Not that it matters what Dolores
- 1:46Speaker 2: Catania says from New Jersey to Sarah.
- 1:49Speaker 1: No, she will appreciate that. She loves you. And yeah,
- 1:52Speaker 1: she's like in the middle of learning a bunch of choreo,
- 1:56Speaker 1: a bunch of songs and a bunch of dialogue for
- 1:58Speaker 1: cabaret on the West end. So if anyone's in London,
- 2:02Speaker 1: you should go see that come mid September.
- 2:04Speaker 2: If only I had a life. Well, I would have
- 2:07Speaker 2: saw her when she was here. I would have, I
- 2:08Speaker 2: would go to London to see her, but I'll just
- 2:11Speaker 2: have to wait.
- 2:12Speaker 1: You're busy. Being a television star and a podcast co-host
- 2:16Speaker 1: with me. Let's get into this episode. Robert welcomes the
- 2:19Speaker 1: four remaining contestants to the semifinals. He even does a
- 2:22Speaker 1: little dance to celebrate with them. He welcomes Mark and
- 2:25Speaker 1: Shirley Ballas onto the stage and introduces their guest judge,
- 2:28Speaker 1: Kim Johnson, who's a two-time Mirrorball champion and a winner
- 2:32Speaker 1: and a judge on the Australian Dancing with the Stars.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Kim reveals that this week they'll be performing two full
- 2:38Speaker 1: dances in just a couple of days, which is half
- 2:41Speaker 1: the time they have on the main show. So for
- 2:45Speaker 1: one of the dances, the contestants will be partnered together.
- 2:47Speaker 1: For the second dance, they'll be partnered with a Dancing
- 2:49Speaker 1: with the Stars pro. Whitney, Riley, Jan, and Gleb walk
- 2:54Speaker 1: onto the stage and perform an absolutely amazing dance.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 2:59Speaker 1: So good. They'll be performing a different Latin style with
- 3:03Speaker 1: their pros. This will put their teaching and choreography to
- 3:06Speaker 1: the test. This has got to be stressful. Dolores, I
- 3:09Speaker 1: was thinking about this, of dancing. You know, you're trying
- 3:12Speaker 1: to become a pro and you're having to kind of
- 3:14Speaker 1: boss around a real pro.
- 3:16Speaker 2: I'll tell you who didn't have a hard time with it.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:19Speaker 2: AJ. AJ had no problem doing that, I felt like.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but almost to the detriment of his pairing with Riley.
- 3:29Speaker 1: He kind of wasn't vibing with it, which I thought
- 3:32Speaker 1: was interesting, but we'll get to that.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Listen, when you're the boss, it's hard to take orders,
- 3:36Speaker 2: even if it's part of the show.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true.
- 3:39Speaker 2: There is an ego to be dealt with. And there's
- 3:42Speaker 2: a way to do things.
- 3:43Speaker 1: So the pairings are this. It's Alan is paired with Whitney.
- 3:47Speaker 1: They'll be dancing the jive. You got Adele paired with Gleb.
- 3:50Speaker 1: They'll be dancing the samba. AJ is paired with Riley.
- 3:53Speaker 1: They'll be dancing the cha-cha. And Selena is paired with Yawn.
- 3:59Speaker 1: They'll be dancing the salsa.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Which was amazing, by the way. That was my favorite.
- 4:03Speaker 2: I don't know if you know that.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Just let me know. That was my favorite one, too.
- 4:08Speaker 1: And it made sense because they're both commercial dancers, which
- 4:10Speaker 1: I guess it's a lot of like kind of like
- 4:14Speaker 1: big moves and like cool acrobatics, which they had a
- 4:17Speaker 1: lot of. So but before you saw the dancers, what
- 4:21Speaker 1: pairings did you think were the strongest and what did
- 4:23Speaker 1: you think was going to be the weakest?
- 4:25Speaker 2: I felt like AJ and Riley would have been a
- 4:28Speaker 2: little weak because this is the problem. And Riley says it.
- 4:33Speaker 2: AJ has a low self-esteem. He's not that sure of himself. Right.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I kind of agreed with that, that too. One, because Riley,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I feel like is, is greener in comparison to the
- 4:45Speaker 1: other pros, right?
- 4:46Speaker 2: Like Whitney.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Right. And I feel like I've been there for like,
- 4:49Speaker 1: I've been around. Right. Yeah. Um, I was interested to
- 4:53Speaker 1: see what was going to happen with Alan and Whitney
- 4:55Speaker 1: because I I mean, what do I really know? But
- 4:57Speaker 1: in my mind, I think that Whitney's like the best dancer.
- 5:00Speaker 1: You know, it's like her and Jenna, I think, are
- 5:02Speaker 1: the two that like I always just assume are like
- 5:05Speaker 1: the best dancers. And Alan has been really, really strong,
- 5:09Speaker 1: but it might be a thing that's tough to dance
- 5:12Speaker 1: with someone of which you have like the utmost respect for,
- 5:15Speaker 1: you know, and to boss him around. So I was
- 5:18Speaker 1: wondering if that was going to be an issue.
- 5:20Speaker 2: And you have to remember also, Alan is from a
- 5:22Speaker 2: different generation. He's older. He's in his mid-30s. So, you know,
- 5:28Speaker 2: I feel like so many components of Alan's life and
- 5:32Speaker 2: everything that he's been through losing his mom so young and,
- 5:36Speaker 2: you know, being the older one here. And I think
- 5:38Speaker 2: he has, he has the age by his side, but
- 5:42Speaker 2: I don't know if he has so much of the, uh,
- 5:46Speaker 2: what everyone else has, like what Adele has. Adele has
- 5:49Speaker 2: that formal hard ass, like, Eastern block kind of training, right?
- 5:56Speaker 2: Like they're hard over there. They don't, they don't mess around.
- 5:59Speaker 2: They're tough on you. There's no coddling over there where
- 6:02Speaker 2: she comes from.
- 6:03Speaker 1: True.
- 6:04Speaker 2: There's different ways. There's different training and stuff. So I
- 6:08Speaker 2: kind of felt bad for, not bad for Alan. He's
- 6:10Speaker 2: an amazing dancer. He's a beautiful person. I think he's
- 6:14Speaker 2: a really nice guy. I wanted to see him win,
- 6:17Speaker 2: but I just didn't think he was going to within
- 6:20Speaker 2: this whole thing. I think he'll be a winner somewhere else.
- 6:24Speaker 1: You know, I sometimes, you know, I think that Adele
- 6:29Speaker 1: is going to win just because I feel like she's
- 6:32Speaker 1: been the strongest dancer the entire time. And everything that
- 6:34Speaker 1: Shirley says about her kind of like confirms all my suspicions.
- 6:40Speaker 1: But sometimes I wonder if they give Adele kind of
- 6:43Speaker 1: a cushy ride through the show. Why? Why? Well, getting
- 6:48Speaker 1: paired with Gleb, another Russian-Ukrainian person, that's probably a very
- 6:56Speaker 1: comfortable thing for her.
- 6:57Speaker 2: It was. They had a lot in common. That's what
- 6:59Speaker 2: I'm saying, yeah.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah, they immediately hit it off. They both speak to
- 7:02Speaker 1: each other in Russian. Adele feels like she's dancing with
- 7:05Speaker 1: a partner from back home. And there's a part of
- 7:07Speaker 1: me that's like, oh, I feel like that's unfair in
- 7:10Speaker 1: comparison to some of the other partnerships.
- 7:13Speaker 2: It was. Okay. I felt that it was. But- Um, listen,
- 7:20Speaker 2: is it fair in this bit in any business?
- 7:22Speaker 1: Well, absolutely not.
- 7:25Speaker 2: You're having a kind of day that, you know, and
- 7:29Speaker 2: you know, the, the thing about Gleb is I just heard,
- 7:32Speaker 2: and I don't know if you heard this, that Maura
- 7:34Speaker 2: Higgins refused to dance with him.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Really? Why? Yeah.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Because they're starting her and Sierra are starting dancing with
- 7:41Speaker 2: the stars. So I looked it up and it said
- 7:44Speaker 2: Gleb's ex-girlfriend and former Dancing with the Stars partner, Brooks Nader,
- 7:50Speaker 2: accused him of cheating on her. She called him creepy
- 7:54Speaker 2: and he didn't return as a pro last season after
- 7:57Speaker 2: she said that about him. Whoa. Yeah.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Yeah, it's not good. I wonder if.
- 8:03Speaker 2: I've never heard of somebody saying, I'm not going to
- 8:05Speaker 2: dance with that person though. And that might hurt her
- 8:07Speaker 2: because she needed somebody who's really good to show her
- 8:10Speaker 2: how to dance because I don't think Maura Higgins is...
- 8:13Speaker 2: trained dancer at.
- 8:14Speaker 1: All no i but i wonder if mora will then
- 8:17Speaker 1: end up getting partnered with whoever wins this if it's
- 8:20Speaker 1: a guy who wins you know.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Oh that you come up with these things i'm well
- 8:28Speaker 2: now you have me thinking.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Yeah that might be it might be kind.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Of well if a guy wins you're saying it would
- 8:34Speaker 2: be aj Right. It would have to be AJ and
- 8:38Speaker 2: AJ would be mean to her. Cause he's me. I
- 8:42Speaker 2: would like to see her. She would be wishing she
- 8:46Speaker 2: asked for glad watch what you wish for.
- 8:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Um, Well, let's get into these dances and these
- 8:53Speaker 1: choreographies done by all these next pros. Alan, a little
- 8:58Speaker 1: nervous with Whitney, like totally understandable. He's second guessing his
- 9:01Speaker 1: choreography around her.
- 9:03Speaker 2: It's funny. He always second guess himself. I know.
- 9:05Speaker 1: And you can tell that Whitney really, really, really, really,
- 9:08Speaker 1: really wants to give her input in terms of like
- 9:10Speaker 1: what the choreo should be, but she's having to hold
- 9:12Speaker 1: back because she knows she's not supposed to help, you know?
- 9:16Speaker 2: Yeah. But I kind of knew when you saw the dance, like. Yeah.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Selena and Jan both come from commercial dance backgrounds, so
- 9:25Speaker 1: they hit it off really well.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Right. They knew. Yeah. Yeah.
- 9:28Speaker 1: And then Riley's noticing that AJ is a thinker. She
- 9:31Speaker 1: can see him losing patience on Dancing with the Stars
- 9:34Speaker 1: with a celebrity if they mess up his choreo.
- 9:37Speaker 2: And she said that, too.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Yeah, I know. So then they have a dinner with
- 9:42Speaker 1: the pros and the judges. I love that.
- 9:44Speaker 2: I like this part.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Think this is so good. And I really love it.
- 9:47Speaker 2: So good.
- 9:48Speaker 1: In the last episode, when they brought in like the
- 9:50Speaker 1: TikTok dancers that like weren't, you know, didn't really know
- 9:52Speaker 1: what they were doing and, and the judges met with
- 9:56Speaker 1: them as well. I love this. gives you insight. And
- 9:59Speaker 1: it's also so valuable in terms of like what you're
- 10:02Speaker 1: trying to do, which is find someone who would work
- 10:04Speaker 1: well with other people on a television show. That's full
- 10:08Speaker 1: of high pressure situation.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Being paired with them and dancing so close to them
- 10:12Speaker 2: is getting the real experience, even more than watching it.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Like they're actually really feeling what it's like. you kind
- 10:18Speaker 2: of physically have to feel what it's like to be
- 10:20Speaker 2: with that person. So they're now, when they give their
- 10:24Speaker 2: point of view, it's from someone that wasn't dancing with it.
- 10:27Speaker 2: It's from someone who actually experienced what they need to
- 10:31Speaker 2: do with them.
- 10:32Speaker 1: So Jan loves Selena. He says she's very quote unquote TV.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Mark says Selena was in his top four on night one.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Are you starting to think that Selena might win this thing?
- 10:44Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:45Speaker 1: I mean, She could.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yeah. She'd be a close second, I'll tell you that,
- 10:52Speaker 2: if she didn't win. But it was funny because Mark
- 10:58Speaker 2: got a look like, really? Like almost like they were
- 11:01Speaker 2: surprised that he said that.
- 11:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 11:04Speaker 2: So.
- 11:05Speaker 1: I like Mark. He's very opinionated about this show.
- 11:09Speaker 2: He still has a strong opinion, even though him and
- 11:12Speaker 2: his mom don't really agree on most things.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Ever.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Ever.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Gleb felt like he was back in his competition days
- 11:26Speaker 1: with Adele. He feels the wow moment may be missing
- 11:30Speaker 1: from her choreo, but he felt wowed by her overall.
- 11:34Speaker 1: He says he's in a private jet with her, not
- 11:37Speaker 1: a Rolls Royce.
- 11:38Speaker 2: I saw that. I thought of you.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Everyone just gives this girl the most amazing nickname.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Flowers, as we call it. She gets her flowers all
- 11:49Speaker 2: the time because she's good and she works really hard.
- 11:54Speaker 2: She's very determined. She's like, I'm going to win. And
- 11:58Speaker 2: she's young. They're like 20. What is she?
- 12:02Speaker 1: 21.
- 12:02Speaker 2: And AJ is only in his 20s. They're all in
- 12:05Speaker 2: their 20s, except for Alan.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Yeah. Whitney's enjoying her rehearsals with Alan, but she wishes
- 12:11Speaker 1: he had more confidence in himself.
- 12:14Speaker 2: We could tell he doesn't have that much confidence in himself.
- 12:17Speaker 2: We could tell that. Can't you tell that?
- 12:19Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 1: I wish he's so good and everything he's done has
- 12:24Speaker 1: been really, really crisp and well done. I wish he
- 12:29Speaker 1: had more confidence in himself because I think it would
- 12:31Speaker 1: make it his dances even better.
- 12:33Speaker 2: He went first and they kind of gave it to
- 12:36Speaker 2: him right after the dance. He sits there and like
- 12:38Speaker 2: you could just see he's always so nervous.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Yeah. I knew he was in trouble after the dance
- 12:46Speaker 1: and the judges gave their critique and Whitney said, you
- 12:48Speaker 1: did so good. You don't want to hear that. That's brutal.
- 12:54Speaker 2: It was brutal.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Brutal. Riley felt lightheartedness in the beginning with AJ, but
- 13:01Speaker 1: it quickly turned into intensity. She's not sure he'll be
- 13:03Speaker 1: able to provide affirmations to a celebrity. I feel like
- 13:08Speaker 1: this is really important. If you're not going to be good,
- 13:11Speaker 1: like if your bedside manner is not great with these celebrities,
- 13:15Speaker 1: then you've got no business being a pro.
- 13:18Speaker 2: You know, this whole time, I forgot that they have
- 13:23Speaker 2: to teach celebrities. I never, until she said that, I
- 13:28Speaker 2: never took that into consideration. Now, Wells, we know what
- 13:32Speaker 2: it's like to deal with celebrities. It's not always easy.
- 13:34Speaker 1: No. And.
- 13:37Speaker 2: You know, they're used to telling producers, I don't feel
- 13:40Speaker 2: like doing that.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:42Speaker 2: I'm not doing that right now. Like me, never. You
- 13:44Speaker 2: would never. But you're you're dealing with a different type
- 13:50Speaker 2: of person. Right. Totally. So then when you think about it,
- 13:55Speaker 2: maybe AJ would be the one. Yeah. Well, or Adele,
- 13:59Speaker 2: because she's not messing around.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah. So let's get into show night round one.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Alan and Whitney perform their jive.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I don't like the jive. Like, I don't like it
- 14:10Speaker 2: right off the bat. It's not them. I don't like this.
- 14:13Speaker 2: That's the least of the dances I like that I
- 14:15Speaker 2: see here.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of feet are moving around, right?
- 14:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like....
- 14:22Speaker 1: Shirley doesn't think Alan used Whitney to the best of
- 14:24Speaker 1: her ability. He could have created a more wow moment
- 14:27Speaker 1: with her.
- 14:28Speaker 2: She's like, Shirley's like, this girl could twirl, split, jump,
- 14:34Speaker 2: flip you use nothing of that why do you think
- 14:38Speaker 2: wells you think it's because he didn't want to have
- 14:39Speaker 2: to tell her what to do or he just wasn't
- 14:43Speaker 2: thinking the way he should have thought to.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Do i mean i think it comes back to you
- 14:50Speaker 1: know his confidence thing and he didn't maybe have the
- 14:52Speaker 1: confidence to be like i want to try something really
- 14:55Speaker 1: big with you and he just kind of played it
- 14:57Speaker 1: safe i'm not i'm not sure But I agree. Like
- 15:01Speaker 1: I said, you know, on the top of the show,
- 15:02Speaker 1: like when I think of Whitney, I think of her
- 15:04Speaker 1: being like the best dancer out there. So you might
- 15:07Speaker 1: as well like take some big swings and see what
- 15:09Speaker 1: you can do with her.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Like give the wow moment every single time the judges
- 15:15Speaker 2: kind of not every single time. Most times the judges
- 15:18Speaker 2: give their opinion. And when they judge, they're like, we're
- 15:21Speaker 2: looking for the wow moment. You need to impress the
- 15:26Speaker 2: people that watch dancing with the stars. The, the viewers
- 15:29Speaker 2: of dancing with the stars are looking for that. Like,
- 15:32Speaker 2: Oh my God.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Totally.
- 15:34Speaker 2: That's why it's lasted as long as it did. Yeah.
- 15:37Speaker 1: And even especially now with social media, you need to
- 15:40Speaker 1: have that wow moment and it needs to be encapsulated
- 15:43Speaker 1: in about five seconds for, you know, before flip.
- 15:48Speaker 2: Yep.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Um, But Mark disagrees with Shirley saying, I mean, shocker
- 15:53Speaker 1: that he's disagreeing with his mom again. He says it
- 15:57Speaker 1: was the best jive he's seen all season. You know,
- 16:01Speaker 1: it was kind of right here where I thought Alan
- 16:05Speaker 1: might be in some trouble.
- 16:07Speaker 2: I knew it.
- 16:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I knew it. Yeah.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I did too.
- 16:10Speaker 2: And I think that you think Mark, Mark was trying
- 16:13Speaker 2: to be nice. Kind of. Yeah.
- 16:17Speaker 1: Yeah. I think that also Mark may disagree that AJ's
- 16:26Speaker 1: a better dancer than Alan. Because that's what we're coming
- 16:30Speaker 1: down to, right? Yeah.
- 16:32Speaker 2: So you think that Mark thinks Alan's the better dancer?
- 16:36Speaker 1: I wonder if he does, especially with that comment.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I don't know. We'll see.
- 16:43Speaker 2: Well, we're not going to find out now. Yeah.
- 16:46Speaker 1: Selena and Jan performed their salsa. The judges loved it.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Mark could picture this dance being performed on Latin night
- 16:53Speaker 1: and dancing with the stars, which I agree. Kim calls
- 16:55Speaker 1: Selena a star and compliments her clever choreography. And Shirley
- 16:59Speaker 1: says the judges.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Were clever, by the way. Did you see that one
- 17:02Speaker 2: move where she's like this?
- 17:04Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. Shirley says the judges were dancing in their
- 17:07Speaker 1: seats while watching the Was this Selena's best dance to date?
- 17:11Speaker 2: By far.
- 17:12Speaker 1: And was it the best dance of the episode?
- 17:14Speaker 2: For me, I liked it because I liked that style
- 17:18Speaker 2: of dance. So I'd have to say, yeah, but when
- 17:21Speaker 2: you watch, it's going to kill me to say, but
- 17:23Speaker 2: when you want, cause I don't think she's that friendly,
- 17:25Speaker 2: but when you watch Adele dance, she just like floats.
- 17:29Speaker 2: You don't like her.
- 17:32Speaker 1: She thinks she's a mean girl. She's mean.
- 17:35Speaker 2: Like, she's going to be mean. She can't help it.
- 17:38Speaker 2: It's just her way.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Adele and Gleb perform their samba. The judges are astonished.
- 17:43Speaker 2: Like, they're standing up. They're clapping. Standing.
- 17:48Speaker 1: Kim tells Adele she nailed it. It's a professional dance
- 17:51Speaker 1: you'd see on Dancing with the Stars. Mark comments on
- 17:53Speaker 1: how she could have played with the musicality a bit,
- 17:56Speaker 1: but it was damn near perfect. Shirley calls Adele and
- 18:00Speaker 1: Gleb a power couple. Yeah. She mentions that One or
- 18:04Speaker 1: two wow moments could have been very, very helpful. I
- 18:08Speaker 1: didn't think that this dance was as strong as.
- 18:11Speaker 2: As Celine's?
- 18:12Speaker 1: I didn't.
- 18:13Speaker 2: I mean, I could agree. I can agree with that.
- 18:16Speaker 2: I think Celine has it all because she's sweet. She's nice.
- 18:19Speaker 2: She knows how to dance, but she's not a ballroom dancer. Yeah. Selena.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I wonder if it has more to do with I liked... Um,
- 18:32Speaker 1: the salsa, like I, I liked salsa more than Samba.
- 18:35Speaker 2: Me too. Me too.
- 18:36Speaker 1: I wonder if that's what I'm seeing, what I'm, cause
- 18:38Speaker 1: obviously Adele was amazing in this. Um, at least that's
- 18:43Speaker 1: what the judges said. I think that the, like Shirley
- 18:46Speaker 1: calls Adele, Adele and Gleb a power couple. And she
- 18:49Speaker 1: mentions that, mentions that she could have used one or
- 18:52Speaker 1: two more wow moments. Um, but I think that, uh,
- 18:55Speaker 1: Shirley has made up her mind that Adele is the
- 18:57Speaker 1: best answer on this show.
- 18:59Speaker 2: Well, she is. but I'm going to tell you this Adele. Again,
- 19:04Speaker 2: I wonder if she is the best teacher. I just
- 19:07Speaker 2: am not there with that because Adele, and that's what we're,
- 19:10Speaker 2: that's what you have to win for. You have to
- 19:12Speaker 2: be the best teacher. Selena is a better teacher. And
- 19:16Speaker 2: if you'll notice Adele kept going, kept letting Gleb, like
- 19:20Speaker 2: she was like, Oh, should I keep my leg bent?
- 19:22Speaker 2: And he's like, no, keep it. And she's like, okay.
- 19:25Speaker 2: He was still teaching her. It wasn't all like, you
- 19:28Speaker 2: know what I mean?
- 19:30Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I'm not so sure. I want to see her. I
- 19:34Speaker 2: want to see her teach more before she gets the job.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Yeah. Well, we're running out of episodes, but AJ and
- 19:43Speaker 1: Riley dance their cha-cha. Shirley says AJ threw in everything
- 19:47Speaker 1: but the kitchen sink and nailed the essence of the cha.
- 19:51Speaker 1: while showcasing Riley. Kim agrees. Mark felt it lacked soul, funk,
- 19:55Speaker 1: and grit.
- 19:55Speaker 2: He looked like he wanted to skin Mark alive.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I'm telling you. I'm telling you that Mark thinks that
- 20:01Speaker 1: Alan's the better dancer than AJ, and he's trying to
- 20:03Speaker 1: fight that hard fight.
- 20:05Speaker 2: Mark, the look that he gave- Was when he looked
- 20:12Speaker 2: at AJ, I mean, when AJ looked at Mark, I
- 20:15Speaker 2: would have been like, what you want? You got a
- 20:17Speaker 2: problem with me? You want to fight? Don't look at
- 20:19Speaker 2: me like that. You're going to look at me like that.
- 20:21Speaker 2: He's like, he was like, oh, really? Made me mad
- 20:26Speaker 2: a little.
- 20:27Speaker 1: I did think that AJ's dance was better than Alan's.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I thought, and I thought he did a really good job,
- 20:32Speaker 1: but like the same thing with your issue with Adele,
- 20:35Speaker 1: not sure if she's going to be able to teach celebrities.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I think that AJ is probably a really stern teacher.
- 20:40Speaker 1: He is.
- 20:41Speaker 2: He was good.
- 20:49Speaker 1: Second pairings time. Adele blindly chooses AJ as her partner
- 20:52Speaker 1: for the next dance and Selena chooses Alan. AJ blindly
- 20:56Speaker 1: chooses the Foxtrot as their dance and Alan chooses the
- 20:59Speaker 1: quick step. Um, I kind of felt that Adele would
- 21:02Speaker 1: have rather danced with Alan. I feel like you do.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I do. I think they've danced before. I, I, I
- 21:09Speaker 1: don't know.
- 21:09Speaker 2: I also, I didn't see that.
- 21:10Speaker 1: I just, I just wonder if that was the case.
- 21:13Speaker 1: I also think that both Adele and AJ are very
- 21:16Speaker 1: hardheaded and like stern individuals.
- 21:19Speaker 2: I don't think they like each other.
- 21:20Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:21Speaker 2: You think they clash? They clash because they're the same.
- 21:24Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly.
- 21:26Speaker 2: There's so much more. Honestly, chemistry is, It's a relationship.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 21:34Speaker 2: You know, like I said, I don't know if I
- 21:35Speaker 2: remember telling you, Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire hated each other.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah.
- 21:41Speaker 2: They literally, the minute that dance was over, they separated immediately.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how good of actors they are, is that
- 21:50Speaker 1: we could not tell at all.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Right.
- 21:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:52Speaker 2: People in this world now don't suffer well. If they
- 21:55Speaker 2: don't like someone, they'll complain about dancing with them, like
- 21:58Speaker 2: Maura Higgins.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Yeah. AJ is extremely intense right off the bat. He's
- 22:03Speaker 1: determined to travel across the floor more than the other
- 22:05Speaker 1: dancers who are attempting the quick step. I mean, basically
- 22:09Speaker 1: what he's saying is he's like, we're going to be
- 22:10Speaker 1: better than the other pair that's attempting the quick step.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Okay, now I hope he loses.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Yeah, like a little bit of shade. You know, I
- 22:17Speaker 1: don't know.
- 22:17Speaker 2: That's a big shade. That's not a little bit. Yeah.
- 22:21Speaker 2: That's not.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Meanwhile, Selena and Alan are taking all the notes that
- 22:25Speaker 1: the judges have given them and incorporating them into their dance.
- 22:28Speaker 1: Selena is the last commercial dancer in the competition and
- 22:31Speaker 1: she's feeling the pressure. AJ starts talking in third person.
- 22:35Speaker 1: It's never a good sign. AJ wants to go to
- 22:38Speaker 1: the finale. Adele knows that's what AJ wants.
- 22:43Speaker 2: So you have two of the strongest personalities from the
- 22:47Speaker 2: beginning of the show. Two of them in the semifinals
- 22:50Speaker 2: dancing together. And it's crazy. I want it. I want,
- 22:55Speaker 2: I am curious to see how this all ends.
- 22:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 22:58Speaker 2: We're getting there.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Well, they head back to the house. The dancers are
- 23:02Speaker 1: feeling the stress tomorrow night. Someone's dream is going to
- 23:05Speaker 1: come to an end show night round to Alan and
- 23:08Speaker 1: Selena perform first. They do their quick step to Valerie
- 23:11Speaker 1: by Amy Winehouse side note. I feel like the music
- 23:14Speaker 1: has been getting progressively better and better, or maybe it's
- 23:17Speaker 1: something to the effect of like, they are now spending
- 23:19Speaker 1: more money as the show is getting better.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Oh, because that's right. They have to pay for that song.
- 23:24Speaker 2: That's my mother's name, Valerie. So I always love to
- 23:28Speaker 2: hear it. And my niece's name and my sister's name.
- 23:32Speaker 1: Really?
- 23:34Speaker 2: Val. Val. Good old Valerie. So the song is great.
- 23:39Speaker 2: They had a great song to dance to. Loved it.
- 23:43Speaker 2: They did well. They did really well.
- 23:45Speaker 1: Yeah. And the judges agreed. Shirley compliments their personalities and
- 23:49Speaker 1: their ability to shine on stage. Kim admires their musicality
- 23:52Speaker 1: and knows they'd be great pros on the show. And
- 23:55Speaker 1: Mark could genuinely see either of them on Dancing with
- 23:59Speaker 1: the Stars tomorrow. I feel like that's what you want.
- 24:02Speaker 2: That was nice to say. Like, that was really nice.
- 24:05Speaker 2: I mean, we know by now who's going home, but
- 24:07Speaker 2: it was very nice to say.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, well, we don't know by now because
- 24:12Speaker 1: we haven't seen Adele and AJ perform.
- 24:15Speaker 2: I know, but I kind of felt.
- 24:17Speaker 1: You're thinking that it's Alan because he was the one
- 24:19Speaker 1: who was like the only one who was critiqued in
- 24:21Speaker 1: his dance with one of the pros in the last round.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and I mean, I feel like as good as
- 24:29Speaker 2: he is, I don't, you know, I feel like you
- 24:33Speaker 2: got to kind of be also a little bit of
- 24:37Speaker 2: everything and he's not arrogant. He's not forceful. He's not aggressive.
- 24:43Speaker 2: He's just such a sweetheart.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Well, speaking of the adverse of sweethearts, you got two.
- 24:48Speaker 2: Oh, here we go. I know who you're talking about.
- 24:50Speaker 1: You got a British guy and you got a Ukrainian girl.
- 24:52Speaker 1: Does Ellen AJ perform a foxtrot to Too Sweet by Hosier?
- 24:56Speaker 1: Mark says that's one thing that'll never go out of
- 24:59Speaker 1: style on Dancing with the Stars, which I think is true.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Classic ballroom. And that's what they show.
- 25:04Speaker 2: And they're both good at it.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Yeah. And like, that's AJ's thing, you know, that's like
- 25:07Speaker 1: his thing. Yeah. I mean, he, you know, one of
- 25:11Speaker 1: the most pivotal moments in his life was when he
- 25:13Speaker 1: won the, like the British ballroom thing. Remember that was like, yeah,
- 25:19Speaker 1: it was winning.
- 25:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I know.
- 25:23Speaker 1: I know. Kim compliments Adele's sexiness and calls them both perfection.
- 25:27Speaker 1: Shirley calls AJ a star, but emphasizes that he should
- 25:31Speaker 1: appreciate the lovely lady on his arm. Once again, Shirley
- 25:34Speaker 1: is in love.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Shirley's giving it to her. Shirley saying you basically what
- 25:39Speaker 2: Shirley said to him was you looked as good as
- 25:42Speaker 2: you did because you were with her.
- 25:43Speaker 1: A hundred percent. Shirley has like, what is it? Rose
- 25:48Speaker 1: tinted glasses when it comes to Adele. You know, like
- 25:50Speaker 1: she can only see, she's only heart eyes emojis with her.
- 25:55Speaker 2: And you too.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Yeah. No, I just, no, I do think she's pretty.
- 26:00Speaker 1: I will agree with that.
- 26:01Speaker 2: But I know you think she's pretty.
- 26:04Speaker 1: But I do think she's the best.
- 26:07Speaker 2: You think she's the best dancer, but she's not the
- 26:10Speaker 2: best teacher. And that's what this is all about. I know.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Because I don't respond well to sternness. I mean, that's
- 26:21Speaker 2: all I know, actually, but I'm not going to learn
- 26:24Speaker 2: like that. I need positive reassurement. And I don't see
- 26:27Speaker 2: her going, hey, buddy, you did a good job. Yeah.
- 26:31Speaker 2: That was a great set.
- 26:33Speaker 1: No.
- 26:33Speaker 2: Not happening.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Okay, but whose dance did you like better? AJ and
- 26:38Speaker 1: Adele or Selena?
- 26:40Speaker 2: I mean, they were both amazing, but but I liked
- 26:45Speaker 2: Adele and AJ better. Yeah.
- 26:48Speaker 1: Okay.
- 26:49Speaker 2: All right.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Sorry. No, I don't know. I think they both were good.
- 26:52Speaker 1: I also am at that point where like, I don't
- 26:55Speaker 1: know if I know dance well enough to know which
- 26:57Speaker 1: one was better than the other, you know?
- 27:00Speaker 2: Well, we're not judges here. We're not trained dancers by
- 27:04Speaker 2: any means, but you know, talent Wells, you married it.
- 27:09Speaker 1: That's true. But yeah, I also have rose-colored glasses when
- 27:12Speaker 1: it comes to my wife and all her work.
- 27:13Speaker 2: With all little heart emojis coming out.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Everything that she does. I'm like, they are amazing. I
- 27:16Speaker 1: don't know how you're doing that. Jeez, Louise.
- 27:19Speaker 2: I need to see more of her on your Instagram.
- 27:21Speaker 2: She's so cute.
- 27:22Speaker 1: Well, we don't live in the same country anymore, so
- 27:26Speaker 1: it's hard to do.
- 27:28Speaker 2: That time apart is so great and amazing. I'm so
- 27:31Speaker 2: happy for you. What? It's the best.
- 27:38Speaker 1: I do get to cook a lot for myself and
- 27:40Speaker 1: it's very fun because I like weird stuff that you
- 27:43Speaker 1: will never.
- 27:45Speaker 2: Eat. What would be weird that you would cook for yourself?
- 27:48Speaker 1: I eat, I'm Portuguese, so I eat a lot of
- 27:50Speaker 1: tin fish, fancy tin fish.
- 27:52Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:53Speaker 1: I know. That's gross to a lot of people, but
- 27:56Speaker 1: it's what I grew up on. Yeah.
- 27:57Speaker 2: And your dog eats a lot of cocoa from the tin.
- 28:00Speaker 2: So how'd that work out? How's that going? Are we
- 28:02Speaker 2: all better now?
- 28:03Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that was a $ 4, 000. You going on a
- 28:04Speaker 1: payment plan? I don't think that she's ever going to
- 28:06Speaker 1: pay me back. She's right over there, boo. Boo, you
- 28:09Speaker 1: owe me $ 4, 000. She's asleep.
- 28:12Speaker 2: Oh, I had a boo too.
- 28:14Speaker 1: All right. The elimination time before announcing the dancer that
- 28:17Speaker 1: has been eliminated. Shirley compliments each of the four dancers
- 28:20Speaker 1: on their strengths. Then she announces the contestant that is
- 28:23Speaker 1: going home is drum roll. Please wait for it. Everyone
- 28:27Speaker 1: saw this coming. It was Alan. Alan's proud of the
- 28:30Speaker 1: way he performed. He hopes his mom would be proud.
- 28:33Speaker 2: Yeah, she would be.
- 28:35Speaker 1: That's so tough.
- 28:36Speaker 2: I am a sucker for a boy, especially one that
- 28:38Speaker 2: loves his mom. One that misses his mom. Forget it.
- 28:41Speaker 2: I'm done. It's over.
- 28:42Speaker 1: I know that was actually a really sweet moment with
- 28:44Speaker 1: Robert who was like, listen, I totally relate to, you know.
- 28:49Speaker 2: I know the legacy.
- 28:51Speaker 1: Legacy and losing somebody.
- 28:53Speaker 2: So nice.
- 28:54Speaker 1: I know.
- 28:55Speaker 2: What do you think? How do you think he'd be
- 28:57Speaker 2: as a teacher?
- 28:58Speaker 1: Really good. But I don't think he's probably a good
- 29:00Speaker 1: enough dancer to.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Be a teacher. Yeah.
- 29:03Speaker 1: No.
- 29:06Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 29:06Speaker 1: He needs to go do. He needs to go. run
- 29:09Speaker 1: a zoo, you know, like he got to do what
- 29:11Speaker 1: his dad did.
- 29:12Speaker 2: That's do what you know. Right. But he's, he's great at,
- 29:15Speaker 2: you know, his energy is so amazing. He's great at
- 29:19Speaker 2: hosting this.
- 29:20Speaker 1: He is. He's doing a fantastic job.
- 29:22Speaker 2: He's no Wells Adams, but he's very, very excited and upbeat.
- 29:27Speaker 2: And sometimes he's so corny. You just have to laugh.
- 29:31Speaker 1: When he does his sign off, he always says good night.
- 29:34Speaker 1: And I'm annoyed that we don't write in like, he
- 29:36Speaker 1: should say like good day and good night. Like that
- 29:38Speaker 1: would be.
- 29:39Speaker 2: Oh yeah.
- 29:40Speaker 1: What are we doing guys.
- 29:41Speaker 2: Tell him right in so who's winning who's winning next.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Week we got adele we got aj and we got
- 29:47Speaker 1: selena left um i'm sticking with what i think's gonna
- 29:51Speaker 1: happen i i'm almost positive that adele's gonna win all
- 29:55Speaker 1: right we'll see But I could see a world in
- 29:58Speaker 1: which they pick a guy and a girl. And so
- 30:00Speaker 1: that would be Adele and AJ. Or I could also
- 30:03Speaker 1: see a world where they're like, you guys are all
- 30:05Speaker 1: so good. You guys all got to be pros. I
- 30:07Speaker 1: don't know.
- 30:08Speaker 2: Oh, stop it. Well, if there's room for them, if
- 30:10Speaker 2: they need them, but they'd have to be getting rid
- 30:12Speaker 2: of somebody over there.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Well, maybe. Glebs out. I don't know. So who do
- 30:19Speaker 1: you think is going to win?
- 30:21Speaker 2: Adele.
- 30:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:24Speaker 2: Yeah. She's favored by the boss.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:28Speaker 2: That's it.
- 30:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:30Speaker 2: It's, you know, it's not like the people right in
- 30:35Speaker 2: get to vote. Yeah.
- 30:37Speaker 1: Very true.
- 30:38Speaker 2: So we'll see.
- 30:41Speaker 1: One more, one more episode. This was a fun episode
- 30:43Speaker 1: to watch. It'll be exciting to see one, how they
- 30:46Speaker 1: do it, how they end up. Cause they're, you know, they're,
- 30:49Speaker 1: they're odd members now. So you're gonna have to bring
- 30:51Speaker 1: in dancers. I love, I don't know what's going to happen.
- 30:54Speaker 1: I would, I would think they're going to bring in celebrities,
- 30:58Speaker 1: actual celebrities and see what they do with them.
- 31:02Speaker 2: That would be amazing.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Yeah. And, uh, like it might be, if I was
- 31:08Speaker 1: a producer and I wanted the synergy around this upcoming season,
- 31:11Speaker 1: I would bring in three people who is going to
- 31:14Speaker 1: be on the next season.
- 31:17Speaker 2: Um, well, how do you do that? Because then they
- 31:19Speaker 2: get a headstart on learning how to dance. You can't
- 31:21Speaker 2: do that.
- 31:22Speaker 1: You don't think the second you get cast for this show,
- 31:24Speaker 1: you're taking dance lessons?
- 31:27Speaker 2: Yeah. No, maybe not. I know some people who haven't
- 31:31Speaker 2: because they haven't had the time.
- 31:32Speaker 1: Well, I would do that if I was ever cast
- 31:35Speaker 1: on this show. I'll do next season because I have
- 31:37Speaker 1: to take a year's worth of dance lessons. But I'm
- 31:40Speaker 1: just saying in terms of promoting the big show, if
- 31:43Speaker 1: you've got... sierra if you've got mora if you've got
- 31:47Speaker 1: whoever coming and then it's like and if you want
- 31:50Speaker 1: if you like this you got to go see you
- 31:53Speaker 1: know dancing with the stars which is coming out in
- 31:57Speaker 1: a couple weeks or whatever it is.
- 32:00Speaker 2: You're a very good producer but i don't think that's
- 32:02Speaker 2: gonna happen.
- 32:02Speaker 1: Okay well we'll see uh it'll be interesting to see
- 32:05Speaker 1: how this whole thing uh wraps up one more episode
- 32:08Speaker 1: left here On By Order of the Faithful's Dancing with
- 32:11Speaker 1: the Stars, the next pro edition. And don't forget, coming
- 32:15Speaker 1: up in just a couple of weeks.
- 32:17Speaker 2: Woo-hoo.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Traders Returns.
- 32:19Speaker 2: We are there. Traders Returns.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm excited to watch some Traders.
- 32:24Speaker 2: I can't wait to talk about them.
