- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, it's Mark Simon. This is the bonus segment of
- 0:03Speaker 1: the podcast. For all you podcast listeners. We give you
- 0:06Speaker 1: a little extra bonus segment. So hey, don't forget this
- 0:09Speaker 1: coming week, the end of Stephen Colbert. He'll be gone.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Thursday Night's the final show. That'll be the end of him.
- 0:18Speaker 1: I was going to say we won't have to see
- 0:20Speaker 1: him again, but I don't know where he'll turn up.
- 0:23Speaker 1: You notice, first of all, everybody will tell you, the
- 0:26Speaker 1: left wing media will report he's being thrown off the
- 0:29Speaker 1: air because of pressure from the Trump Administration's being thrown
- 0:33Speaker 1: off the air because he loses forty or fifty million
- 0:35Speaker 1: a year. In fact, you want to talk about partisan stuff,
- 0:39Speaker 1: the fact that they kept him on losing forty or
- 0:41Speaker 1: fifty million a year is a little partisan. So he'll
- 0:45Speaker 1: be gone. You'll notice it was announced a long time
- 0:48Speaker 1: ago that he was being fired. It was announced six
- 0:51Speaker 1: months ago, more than seven eight months ago. See anybody
- 0:55Speaker 1: offering my job. You see NBC or ABC begging him
- 0:58Speaker 1: to come over. You think he's getting an phone calls, Hey,
- 1:00Speaker 1: come over here. We'd love to lose forty or fifty
- 1:02Speaker 1: million a year on you. You see anybody anybody, HBO, anybody,
- 1:08Speaker 1: no nobody. So what will he do? I don't know,
- 1:10Speaker 1: I don't know. He may do a Conan O'Brien type podcast.
- 1:14Speaker 1: He may do, you know, something like Letterman does that
- 1:19Speaker 1: what's that show he does where he interviews people for
- 1:21Speaker 1: a half hour, although Letterman, despite all of his nonsense,
- 1:25Speaker 1: still has a certain charm. He's a comedian. Colbert, you
- 1:28Speaker 1: wouldn't really call a comedian. He's more of an angry, nasty,
- 1:32Speaker 1: nasty guy. So, I don't know. So Seattle now has
- 1:37Speaker 1: a crazy Mom Downey type mayor running Seattle, liberal woke,
- 1:42Speaker 1: hates billionaires, hates business. You know, if you're running a city,
- 1:48Speaker 1: you got to have a downtown, even a small town.
- 1:50Speaker 1: If you're running a city, you got to have businesses.
- 1:53Speaker 1: If you opened any kind of a city and nobody
- 1:55Speaker 1: opened any businesses, what would you do? Where would you
- 1:59Speaker 1: get jobs from, Where would you get services from? Where
- 2:02Speaker 1: would people be able to buy? So the businesses are
- 2:07Speaker 1: your best customers, that's who you need. Also, they pay
- 2:10Speaker 1: more taxes than anybody, the most important thing can have.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Having slums and having poor people not going to help
- 2:19Speaker 1: your city grow, but businesses grow your city. So to
- 2:22Speaker 1: chase them out is absolutely ridiculous. Seattle is the latest city,
- 2:26Speaker 1: you know, Chicago and La San Francisco. Seattle is the
- 2:30Speaker 1: latest city to be totally destroyed by a socialist mayor.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Now Seattle is so bad that the Starbucks founder, billionaire
- 2:41Speaker 1: Howard Schultz wrote a massive op ed piece in the
- 2:44Speaker 1: Wall Street Journal this week saying he's relocating to Miami. Starbucks,
- 2:49Speaker 1: which has a huge, huge business presence there, is probably
- 2:54Speaker 1: moving all of that out of Seattle. And he said,
- 2:57Speaker 1: it's not just it's this crazy mayor, the crazy lawmakers
- 3:01Speaker 1: there that businesses are just going to have to leave.
- 3:04Speaker 1: They're going to tax them to death if they stay there,
- 3:07Speaker 1: regulate and tax them to death. It's not just not
- 3:09Speaker 1: just Howard Schultz, the Starbucks founder, moving to Miami. Their
- 3:15Speaker 1: massive facilities are being moved now. They're going to move
- 3:17Speaker 1: to new corporate offices in Nashville. Now, Nashville is one
- 3:20Speaker 1: of those cities that just took off. It is booming,
- 3:24Speaker 1: it is crowded, it's you know, Miami took off, Palm
- 3:27Speaker 1: Beach took off. Nashville. Taxes all going crazy. Because business friendly,
- 3:34Speaker 1: very low taxes, very low regulations, businesses can flourish there.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And in this op ed, Howard Schultz really went after
- 3:43Speaker 1: that Seattle mayor, her socialist rhetoric, all of her nonsense.
- 3:48Speaker 1: And the problem is when you do this you hate
- 3:51Speaker 1: these billionaires, they all leave and then you lose your revenue.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Most of your tax revenue comes from these billionaires. So
- 3:58Speaker 1: it's a horrible cycle. And he's start to turn around.
- 4:02Speaker 1: We're starting to see this in Los Angeles where this
- 4:05Speaker 1: guy Pratt who's running for mayor, he's a Republican, is
- 4:09Speaker 1: rising up. He's starting to speak out about this stuff.
- 4:11Speaker 1: He's getting a lot of attention and gaining a lot
- 4:15Speaker 1: of ground. So you never know, these things do turn around.
- 4:19Speaker 1: It goes in cycles, and they can turn around. It's
- 4:22Speaker 1: happening in the UK. Latest polling shows the Conservatives will
- 4:27Speaker 1: take over the government there, and whatever happens in the
- 4:29Speaker 1: UK always happens here. About a year later, so Bruce
- 4:36Speaker 1: Blakeman doing very well in his race for governor. He
- 4:39Speaker 1: was like twenty points behind. Now he's eight points behind
- 4:42Speaker 1: and rising. He's also pointing out, you know, there's a
- 4:45Speaker 1: slush fund. You know Kathy Oakle talks about no money.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Apparently there's a four billion dollar slush fund. Blakeman says
- 4:52Speaker 1: he'll tap into that and use that to lower your taxes,
- 4:56Speaker 1: lower your bills. You know, you could cut the budget
- 4:58Speaker 1: in half easily. New York's the budget's one hundred and
- 5:01Speaker 1: twenty four million New York City. That's more than the
- 5:06Speaker 1: budget of Florida, the whole state, which has a lot
- 5:08Speaker 1: of major cities in it, and it has, you know,
- 5:11Speaker 1: thirty million people. We only have like eight million in
- 5:14Speaker 1: New York. How could our budget be almost double that
- 5:19Speaker 1: of Florida. It's absolutely ridiculous. In the Nancy Guthrie case,
- 5:23Speaker 1: the sheriff, they're saying, we're getting close, We're getting close.
- 5:26Speaker 1: Nobody trusts this sheriff for a second. Taylor Swift and
- 5:31Speaker 1: Travis Kelcey in London, they call it the romance Tour.
- 5:36Speaker 1: They go out on these date nights. There's nothing sadder
- 5:40Speaker 1: than the term date night. Every night should be date night,
- 5:43Speaker 1: if it's a special once in a while thing, date night.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Something's wrong, you know, married couples usually it's date night.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Every night should be date night. But there they were,
- 5:52Speaker 1: these little love birds going all over London photographed holding hands.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Seems a little theatrical. This date night. It's like being
- 6:00Speaker 1: staged for the cameras. They stepped out for an evening
- 6:03Speaker 1: Gordon Ramsey's new restaurant, The Lucky Cat in London Friday night.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Thursday night, they were seen leaving the Harold Pinter Theater Pinter,
- 6:12Speaker 1: of course, the great writer, Harold Pinter Theater, where they
- 6:16Speaker 1: went to see Romeo and Juliet. Now are we supposed
- 6:20Speaker 1: to believe the Travis Kelsey said, you know, I feel
- 6:22Speaker 1: like seeing Shakespeare. Could we go see some Shakespeare? Said?
- 6:25Speaker 1: Are we supposed to buy this? It's for the cameras.
- 6:29Speaker 1: They look at them. They're going to the Harold Pinter
- 6:31Speaker 1: Theater to see Romeo and Juliet. Meantime, cameras aren't allowed
- 6:34Speaker 1: inside because if you're inside, you'd see Travis Kelcey sitting
- 6:38Speaker 1: through this Shakespeare play. Then they were spotted leaving the
- 6:42Speaker 1: Indian cuisine hotspot Gimmacana Indian food, very very very big
- 6:49Speaker 1: in London, Great Britain. Curry all over the place, everywhere
- 6:52Speaker 1: you go down there. You know, we've had these terrible
- 6:55Speaker 1: anti Semitic attacks here in New York. Couple of nights,
- 7:00Speaker 1: Mom Donnie doing nothing. It's even worse in London. They're
- 7:03Speaker 1: all over the place, twenty thousand people demonstrating fighting back
- 7:08Speaker 1: against the anti Semitism in London and these horrible attacks.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Jews have been attacked all over Great Britain as a result,
- 7:16Speaker 1: and again it's like Mom Donnie over there. They do
- 7:18Speaker 1: nothing about it. People having to fight back themselves. Hey,
- 7:22Speaker 1: you know the big roast now are like on Netflix,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you know the Tom Brady roast. This roast, well, the
- 7:29Speaker 1: new one is the Kevin Hart Roast and I haven't
- 7:33Speaker 1: seen it, but people say the stuff in it is
- 7:36Speaker 1: absolutely disgusting. Pete Davidson was particularly horrifying, apparently making some
- 7:44Speaker 1: really disgusting Charlie Kirk jokes during the Kevin Hart roast.
- 7:49Speaker 1: He's going after Tony Hinchcliffe, the comedian. Davidson says, Tony
- 7:55Speaker 1: reminds me of Charlie Kirk in that he's definitely been
- 7:59Speaker 1: on camera a guy unloaded his throat. I mean really disgusting.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Even the crowd gasped at that. David said, Ump the Auntie.
- 8:10Speaker 1: I'm not going to read the rest of us. It's
- 8:11Speaker 1: just too disgusting to read. I mean, really disgusting stuff
- 8:14Speaker 1: on there. Now, you know the Friars Club. They invented
- 8:19Speaker 1: these roasts, and when they had the private roast, not
- 8:22Speaker 1: on TV. The private roast, they got pretty over the
- 8:25Speaker 1: I mean way over the line, pretty disgusting. But but
- 8:31Speaker 1: that was in private. They would never do it in
- 8:33Speaker 1: the television roast. And you're doing it on the Apprentice.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Absolutely ridiculous. Hey, Vice President Vance being asked a lot
- 8:43Speaker 1: of questions. He was in an interview and they said, well,
- 8:47Speaker 1: what about you know, Marco Rubio has really risen up
- 8:50Speaker 1: and it's being talked about as the candidate for twenty
- 8:53Speaker 1: twenty eight, where it used to be you what do
- 8:55Speaker 1: you think? And he actually said he thinks President Trump
- 8:58Speaker 1: is deliberately holding in a Prentice contest between the two
- 9:02Speaker 1: of them. Well, first of all, twenty twenty eight is
- 9:05Speaker 1: a long way away. It's a couple of years away.
- 9:07Speaker 1: You can't predict what will happen by then. And you remember,
- 9:10Speaker 1: if you go back and look at a lot of
- 9:12Speaker 1: presidential elections, whoever the nominee is, whoever's the guy most
- 9:19Speaker 1: of the time, almost all the time, has not yet
- 9:22Speaker 1: emerged at this point. If you went back this far
- 9:25Speaker 1: away from the election, there was no Bill Clinton. There
- 9:28Speaker 1: was no, Michael Ducaccus, So you don't necessarily know who's
- 9:31Speaker 1: in the running. These two could be. Very often the
- 9:34Speaker 1: two that are in the lead disappear before the time
- 9:39Speaker 1: rules around. Hey, the war in Iran Israel, obviously, the
- 9:44Speaker 1: US and Israel an incredible, unbelievable combination. Israel knows more
- 9:49Speaker 1: about Iran. Their intelligence is unbelievable, their fighting capability is unbelievable.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So you combine it with the most powerful army in
- 9:56Speaker 1: the world, the US Army, it's an amazing, amazing team.
- 10:00Speaker 1: But there's stuff we didn't know. Do you know that
- 10:02Speaker 1: there was a time during this Iran conflict Israel built
- 10:06Speaker 1: an air base within Iran. Now, remember we did that
- 10:10Speaker 1: for about twenty eight hours when we had to rescue
- 10:14Speaker 1: that pilot. We built a little air base that we
- 10:17Speaker 1: used to launch helicopters and planes to go get the pilot.
- 10:20Speaker 1: But apparently Israel did it for weeks weeks. Somehow they
- 10:27Speaker 1: built an air base within Iran that Iran didn't know about.
- 10:31Speaker 1: They had special forces there. There were flying missions out
- 10:34Speaker 1: of there so close in that it was amazing. So
- 10:38Speaker 1: they not only built an air base, they had barracks
- 10:40Speaker 1: for special forces. They were staying there for weeks undetected.
- 10:44Speaker 1: It served as a hub for the Israeli Air Force,
- 10:48Speaker 1: and apparently there were times where somebody, you know, like
- 10:51Speaker 1: a shepherd or a local or a farm or somebody
- 10:54Speaker 1: got close and they had to chase them away. But
- 10:56Speaker 1: somehow they pulled that off. Absolutely amazing. Now in the Ukraine,
- 11:03Speaker 1: President Putin saying he thinks the war is coming to
- 11:06Speaker 1: an end. I don't know what that means, but they've
- 11:08Speaker 1: had this ceasefire that Donald Trump brokeer and it could
- 11:13Speaker 1: be who knows, it could be that Putin is ready
- 11:16Speaker 1: to give up that Ukraine. Somehow they lasted over four
- 11:20Speaker 1: years in this war. We always thought Russia was a superpower,
- 11:24Speaker 1: but they can't even make any progress in Ukraine. Not
- 11:26Speaker 1: only that Ukraine has been amazing. We've been selling them weapons,
- 11:31Speaker 1: everybody's been giving them weapons. But apparently they built their
- 11:33Speaker 1: own drone factories and they are now turning out on
- 11:37Speaker 1: their own, stated the art drones like crazy. And somehow,
- 11:43Speaker 1: you know, somehow, Russia hasn't been able to blow up
- 11:45Speaker 1: those drone factories, so they're continuing to turn out drones.
- 11:49Speaker 1: The Kremlin thought way back when four or five years ago,
- 11:51Speaker 1: it could win in a second. They now realize they
- 11:54Speaker 1: can't win. It's four or five years now, absolutely no progress, stalemate.
- 12:01Speaker 1: It's draining Russia's budget. Russia doesn't have that much money.
- 12:05Speaker 1: They've lost hundreds of thousands of soldiers. Zelenski now thanking
- 12:10Speaker 1: Trump for helping engineer that sees fire agreement. But Putin
- 12:14Speaker 1: is actually actually now talking about giving up at some point. Hey,
- 12:20Speaker 1: the Washington Post used to be one of the great
- 12:24Speaker 1: landmark newspapers in America. It's been a ridiculous, ridiculous left wing,
- 12:30Speaker 1: crazy crazy thing for the last few years. But Bezos
- 12:37Speaker 1: has tried to tone it down without much luck. And
- 12:42Speaker 1: now they're going after Homeland Security. They're going after you know,
- 12:47Speaker 1: about eighty thousand immigrants have voluntarily left. I don't mean
- 12:51Speaker 1: the people that went back across the border. It turns
- 12:54Speaker 1: out something like a million people self deported. They went
- 12:56Speaker 1: across the border, but about eighty thousand immigrant and illegals
- 13:01Speaker 1: illegals went to the Homeland Security people to ice and
- 13:05Speaker 1: turned themselves in and asked to be deported. They didn't
- 13:09Speaker 1: want to wait to be arrested. And apparently you know
- 13:12Speaker 1: those alligator prison whatever DeSantis call that these detention centers,
- 13:18Speaker 1: they're terrified of being in them, so a number of
- 13:21Speaker 1: them have actually eighty thousand turned themselves into Homeland Security
- 13:26Speaker 1: asked to be deported quickly, quietly, without a detention center.
- 13:30Speaker 1: So the detention centers doing their job. Hey, this has
- 13:34Speaker 1: been the bonus segment of the podcast. Thanks for listening.
- 13:37Speaker 1: We really appreciate it. Mark Simone here, talk to you soon.
