- 1:00Speaker 7: You know, I have one vacation day left unaccounted for
- 1:03Speaker 7: and you use it to lose it here. So he's like,
- 1:06Speaker 7: I'd like to use it. I'm like, okay, we'll find
- 1:09Speaker 7: someone to bring in. So I just assumed.
- 1:12Speaker 6: That you had lined up, you know, Bob Fryar, Oh, no,
- 1:15Speaker 6: Sweezy or somebody.
- 1:16Speaker 5: And they couldn't make your life around.

- 1:49Speaker 2: all about So life has not been boring since you've
- 1:52Speaker 2: retired from being a TV meteorologist, although you're still a meteorologist.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Once you're a weather geek, you're always a weather geek.
- 1:58Speaker 3: Weather Goob stays, Yeah, that's the kind of stink you
- 2:01Speaker 3: can't shake up.
- 2:03Speaker 7: Now that it's not your profession, paid profession, do you
- 2:08Speaker 7: do you have to actually take classes or is there
- 2:11Speaker 7: a recertification that you have to go on a regular basis?
- 2:13Speaker 6: You have to do enough studying along the way, continuing education,
- 2:17Speaker 6: you call it. So I've kept up with all that
- 2:19Speaker 6: I can do that online. Still I'm an AMS seal
- 2:22Speaker 6: my CBM.
- 2:23Speaker 5: I renewed that.
- 2:24Speaker 6: That was a little bit of money, and I have
- 2:25Speaker 6: the NWA Silver approval steal just in case, you know,
- 2:29Speaker 6: you never know, you never know. Why don't you like
- 2:31Speaker 6: sew them onto your shirt or something.
- 2:33Speaker 7: If you don't have a graphic for television, you need
- 2:37Speaker 7: to brag about that a little bit.
- 2:38Speaker 8: You need a jacket or something made logo on it.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Yeah, Jack is going to take care of that.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Radio thing on that.
- 2:45Speaker 7: Yeah you know what name is going on that over
- 2:49Speaker 7: the breast?
- 2:49Speaker 6: Give it a NASCAR racestar like my sponsors, Real Radio
- 2:52Speaker 6: one four point one and the nw A and the AMS,
- 2:55Speaker 6: thank you very much.
- 2:55Speaker 8: That will be embroidered as Captain Sunshine.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Oh there we go, Okay, away Sunshine always forever.
- 3:01Speaker 6: Because okay, when you get famous, you can't change your name, right, Okay,
- 3:05Speaker 6: So then how come this is the Jim Colbert Show
- 3:08Speaker 6: and no one ever says dirty gym anymore?
- 3:09Speaker 3: Oh?
- 3:10Speaker 7: Oh they do, they do, and he frowns until they stop.
- 3:13Speaker 6: Well, I know, and so it's kind of like Marky
- 3:16Speaker 6: Mark or John Cougar mellicap. You can be John Mellicamp.
- 3:19Speaker 3: But you're still John Cougar right in the hearts of many.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Or you can be you could be Mark Wahlberg, but
- 3:25Speaker 3: you always go.
- 3:25Speaker 7: To be the funky bunch, you know, deub equity with
- 3:28Speaker 7: the name right, and you don't want you don't want
- 3:30Speaker 7: to give that up for you the people who follow
- 3:33Speaker 7: you and know you as that, and it's great, but
- 3:34Speaker 7: you know, we but the people.
- 3:36Speaker 6: Who know actual sunshine are limited to the people at
- 3:39Speaker 6: this studio and.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Naturally going through that right now, you know, because when
- 3:42Speaker 2: I get married in April, what are you going to do? Well,
- 3:44Speaker 2: I'm going to be taking his name. But you're right, professionally,
- 3:48Speaker 2: I share this day is Deborah Roberts. I mean, it's
- 3:50Speaker 2: been over three decades.
- 3:52Speaker 8: I think there's alway to hide, though there's already one
- 3:54Speaker 8: of those.
- 3:56Speaker 3: I know. I'm actually so yeah, we're well, just gave
- 3:59Speaker 3: away your married name. Yeah, I have no problem with that, right,
- 4:01Speaker 3: but I like to hunt. He got a oh you're
- 4:03Speaker 3: Debs Chris just yesterday?
- 4:05Speaker 2: Oh really yeah, restaurant up in Eltmont talking to the
- 4:08Speaker 2: manager saying, hey, I wish you guys would bring one
- 4:10Speaker 2: of these to Mount Dora and the manager Bryce was like,
- 4:13Speaker 2: wait a minute, I know you, wait a minute, what
- 4:16Speaker 2: do you do again?
- 4:17Speaker 3: You're marrying that one.
- 4:18Speaker 2: And then they said, oh, you're Deb's Chris, And to
- 4:20Speaker 2: the man who spends all of his time, you know,
- 4:22Speaker 2: coming up with these great holiday events, was like, yep,
- 4:25Speaker 2: that's who I am.
- 4:27Speaker 8: You know what, you gotta roll with it.
- 4:29Speaker 7: It happened so my wife, you know, because of the
- 4:32Speaker 7: the blessings and opportunities of this job. Absolutely she has
- 4:36Speaker 7: had to see me whenever we go out a lot
- 4:39Speaker 7: of times she loses me to when I start interacting
- 4:43Speaker 7: and doing that stuff. Yeah, but my wife, the lovely
- 4:45Speaker 7: neew me bradshawt dot com. As a professional singer, there
- 4:48Speaker 7: are plenty of times where I am Naomi's husband.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Oh wow, Yeah, that's cool.
- 4:54Speaker 8: Yeah, she's the uh, she's the star.
- 4:56Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly, And that happens for us as well. And
- 4:58Speaker 2: Chris says he wears it like a badge.
- 5:00Speaker 5: Well, in Jack's case, she's actually talented.
- 5:04Speaker 7: Because the post talk, I overcompensate by just working a
- 5:09Speaker 7: lot of hours.
- 5:10Speaker 2: I love your guys's love language. Speaking of the blessings
- 5:13Speaker 2: of this kind of job.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Did you guys get a chance to hear us last night? Yeah?
- 5:18Speaker 3: We were on Magic one O seven seven, Orlando's Christmas station.
- 5:22Speaker 8: We were what did you do?
- 5:25Speaker 7: We hijacked and we played Christmas music that we like exactly.
- 5:29Speaker 3: We were on for three hours last night.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Father Christmas, would you leave it?
- 5:33Speaker 3: Uh?
- 5:34Speaker 6: No.
- 5:34Speaker 7: One of my picks I had Darlene love Baby, Please
- 5:39Speaker 7: Come Home Always love that song.
- 5:42Speaker 8: For my daughter.
- 5:43Speaker 7: I played a Faith Hill song where are You Christmas?
- 5:48Speaker 7: She used to sing from the Grinch movie. She saw
- 5:50Speaker 7: it once over the credits. I came in the room
- 5:53Speaker 7: as a five year old. She's singing in that voice
- 5:55Speaker 7: and it was just so sad. But to this day
- 5:57Speaker 7: when I hear it, I get chills. Yeah, And because
- 5:59Speaker 7: of that, I had I had to do that. And
- 6:01Speaker 7: my final song was one that I loved that I
- 6:03Speaker 7: knew it would be new to many people listening. Is
- 6:06Speaker 7: Michael Andrews Mistletoe Mambo off of his swinger Head Christmas CD.
- 6:12Speaker 8: This is a Swingerhead Christmas.
- 6:14Speaker 5: I didn't see that coming.
- 6:15Speaker 7: It is one of I think one of the all
- 6:18Speaker 7: time greatest Christmas music CDs, and it and it just
- 6:23Speaker 7: when I heard it last night. I just started thinking,
- 6:25Speaker 7: I'm like, we got to reach out. So I reach
- 6:28Speaker 7: out to Michael Andrew. He's coming in today at five twenty.
- 6:31Speaker 7: We'll have him in studio. Well yeah, and we'll talk
- 6:33Speaker 7: about that CD because every year, I know Angel on
- 6:36Speaker 7: the Monster says it, I say it as well.
- 6:38Speaker 8: It is one of the best Christmas albums ever.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, would you please?
- 6:43Speaker 2: I played I Had a Holy Night, a Little Drummer
- 6:46Speaker 2: Boy and Hark the Herald Angels sing you a traditional.
- 6:50Speaker 3: I did she did, I did it. It was a
- 6:52Speaker 3: good balance.
- 6:53Speaker 2: Though, Yeah, it was because you know then Jimmy had
- 6:55Speaker 2: the waitresses.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 6:58Speaker 2: And the theme from the chart Brown Christmas Special because
- 7:01Speaker 2: for those of us of a certain age, that was
- 7:03Speaker 2: really ez chs.
- 7:04Speaker 3: That is Christmas and that is Christmas.
- 7:06Speaker 5: You screwed up?
- 7:07Speaker 8: Yea, that doesn't he more than once Christmas wrapping.
- 7:09Speaker 3: By the way, I absolutely love that shit.
- 7:11Speaker 7: That's a great it is a great song. I'm really
- 7:14Speaker 7: glad we got to include it.
- 7:15Speaker 8: You so o.
- 7:16Speaker 7: Holy Night Devors version was Kerrie Underwood yep. And for
- 7:20Speaker 7: a Little Drummer Boy, we did not King Cole because
- 7:23Speaker 7: Jimmy also had Little Drummer boy. But the duet with
- 7:28Speaker 7: Bing Crosby and David Bowie.
- 7:30Speaker 3: Oh that's great. Isn't that a great one? Yeah?
- 7:32Speaker 2: Yeah, So thanks to everyone over at Magic one oh
- 7:35Speaker 2: seven seven. Of course everyone is listening to them, but
- 7:37Speaker 2: thank you for inviting us to be a part of it.
- 7:39Speaker 2: It really was a lot of fun.
- 7:41Speaker 7: And the Monsters in the Morning are doing a Christmas
- 7:43Speaker 7: show on Magic again. They were asked to come back,
- 7:47Speaker 7: so tonight at seven Chris, they will be doing another
- 7:50Speaker 7: Christmas show on Magic one o seven seven.
- 7:52Speaker 2: I have to say, it's been really fun listening to
- 7:53Speaker 2: that station this holiday season and hearing all the different
- 7:56Speaker 2: cross promotion, with all the different you know, talents in
- 7:58Speaker 2: the building. You kind of just feel a lot more
- 8:01Speaker 2: like we're like, we're a family together, cohesive, one big
- 8:04Speaker 2: just happy family. Love that thanks to a lot of
- 8:07Speaker 2: Prozac and stuff like that. Speaking of Michael Andry, we're
- 8:11Speaker 2: gonna have lots of the usual Friday stuff we're gonna
- 8:13Speaker 2: do today. Jack, I know you've picked out a fabulous
- 8:15Speaker 2: tune for sinker sale.
- 8:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, okay, good.
- 8:19Speaker 2: You're gonna be able to vote let us know your
- 8:21Speaker 2: thoughts at seven seven zero three one Embers only we're
- 8:24Speaker 2: gonna do Primetime Kitchen with Fayez. Car is going to
- 8:26Speaker 2: give us his reviews of some local eateries. We talk
- 8:29Speaker 2: about a job i'd want, really, I love to eat,
- 8:32Speaker 2: love food.
- 8:32Speaker 3: Yeah, but you don't look like you do. How is
- 8:34Speaker 3: it that I do? Anyway, you're not looking in the
- 8:38Speaker 3: right places.
- 8:40Speaker 7: I never won, as he posts closer to the desk,
- 8:44Speaker 7: that's sucking mind.
- 8:45Speaker 6: I had never won Radio'shunkiest Hunk because you know, when
- 8:49Speaker 6: when Todd Drakowski and Bob Fryar are winning all those titles,
- 8:52Speaker 6: I was more like TV's Chunky Chunk Ever. I mean,
- 8:57Speaker 6: those guys are skinny minies.
- 9:02Speaker 2: But along with the interview that we're going to be
- 9:04Speaker 2: doing with Michael Andrew at four to twenty, we're going
- 9:07Speaker 2: to be talking to a local teacher who talk about
- 9:10Speaker 2: kids met right. I mean, you put it out there
- 9:13Speaker 2: into the universe, you rely a little bit on social
- 9:15Speaker 2: media and it takes off in the most wonderful and
- 9:18Speaker 2: weird way. Her name is Megan Dewitz. She teaches at
- 9:21Speaker 2: Triangle Elementary School. So we're going to be talking to
- 9:24Speaker 2: her at four twenty.
- 9:25Speaker 3: What else do we have?
- 9:26Speaker 2: Oh, we've got eight bit update with Jayden Grimes coming
- 9:29Speaker 2: in to give us the latest gaming news.
- 9:30Speaker 7: Absolutely, we'll have a game show at five point forty
- 9:33Speaker 7: five where we will have a great prize tickets to
- 9:36Speaker 7: Universal Studios Orlando up for grabs.
- 9:39Speaker 3: I like the way you said a game show. Yeah,
- 9:43Speaker 3: you want to be part of the game show at
- 9:44Speaker 3: this time.
- 9:45Speaker 7: I would love to be actually awesome as our guests.
- 9:47Speaker 7: You could be our game show host.
- 9:49Speaker 3: I loved show. I was still almost Pat Sajack. No way,
- 9:53Speaker 3: do you ever see that story? No, for real, that's
- 9:56Speaker 3: a joke that I say that, because no, I did
- 9:58Speaker 3: try out to be past Sajack.
- 10:00Speaker 6: But most of my friends I've bored with that story
- 10:02Speaker 6: through the years, and so whenever we're I said, hey,
- 10:04Speaker 6: will you tell you it was almost Pat Sajack?
- 10:06Speaker 3: We got three minutes go for Yeah, exactly, tell us
- 10:09Speaker 3: you I'd never heard this story. Okay, real you auditioned.
- 10:11Speaker 6: I auditioned heavy back in the day. I was like nineteen,
- 10:15Speaker 6: I want to say eighty eight or eighty nine. Say
- 10:18Speaker 6: Jack left the Will of Fortune. He was going to
- 10:22Speaker 6: CBS Late.
- 10:23Speaker 7: Night right to be the big oh Wow Late Night
- 10:26Speaker 7: se for a minute against.
- 10:27Speaker 6: Johnny Carson, and so when he went off the air,
- 10:30Speaker 6: they did a nationwide search to find the new Pat
- 10:33Speaker 6: Sajack right, And so they have auditions in LA and
- 10:38Speaker 6: auditions in Nashville.
- 10:40Speaker 5: And I happened to be.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Back home in Nashville to go to a wedding, and
- 10:44Speaker 6: I saw it. Back at the we used to these
- 10:46Speaker 6: things on the newspaper and you would open it up
- 10:48Speaker 6: and all the news of the day would be in there.
- 10:50Speaker 6: Remember that this in the eighties, And so all of
- 10:51Speaker 6: a sudden I see it.
- 10:52Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, dude, well I'm going tomorrow.
- 10:56Speaker 5: So I get it in the morning.
- 10:57Speaker 6: I drive down to Upper Land, go in the Upper
- 10:59Speaker 6: Land area and get admitted. Me and my best friend
- 11:01Speaker 6: Carrie were there, and I'm trying out and they come
- 11:03Speaker 6: they say what's your name? And my name's Carrie.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Oh blah blah blah blah, and they say, thanks, what's
- 11:07Speaker 5: your name?
- 11:07Speaker 8: My name is Tom Sorels.
- 11:08Speaker 6: And God brought me here today to be the host
- 11:10Speaker 6: because I live out of town now and I'm here
- 11:12Speaker 6: for a wedding. This is God in action, and They're like,
- 11:15Speaker 6: come with us, Oh wow.
- 11:17Speaker 5: And so then the next.
- 11:18Speaker 8: Round is golden.
- 11:20Speaker 3: That's what they wanted. I didn't realize it.
- 11:22Speaker 5: At the time.
- 11:22Speaker 6: I just came with energy and they were like, do it,
- 11:25Speaker 6: do it, do it. So I kept getting down. I
- 11:26Speaker 6: got down like the last eight people that day, and
- 11:29Speaker 6: it's like five.
- 11:30Speaker 5: O'clock and they shut it down. I've got to get to.
- 11:32Speaker 6: A rehearsal dinner, so I'm like cool and they say
- 11:34Speaker 6: we'll be in touch. I do the rehearsal dinner and
- 11:36Speaker 6: then I get done and I come home and it's
- 11:38Speaker 6: like ten thirty in the Central time zone and I
- 11:41Speaker 6: get home. My dad's awake and he's like, you got
- 11:44Speaker 6: a call from somebody from Hollywood.
- 11:45Speaker 5: And I'm like, oh, yeah, give me that what they
- 11:47Speaker 5: say and said, they said call back, and I'm like,
- 11:50Speaker 5: I got this, I got this.
- 11:52Speaker 6: I'm in and so they said call back at night
- 11:54Speaker 6: because of them it's West Coast time.
- 11:56Speaker 5: They're okay, So I call and I'm like, hey, hey,
- 11:59Speaker 5: it's Tommy some and I get the job.
- 12:02Speaker 3: And you're like, well, tom look, oh no, we liked
- 12:05Speaker 3: you a lot.
- 12:06Speaker 6: You're a great young man. We think you're awesome. But listen,
- 12:09Speaker 6: you look so young. And I'm like, we're talking about man,
- 12:13Speaker 6: I'm twenty five. Oh, and they're like, I mean, I'm
- 12:18Speaker 6: as old as I've ever been.
- 12:20Speaker 5: I'm twenty five.
- 12:21Speaker 6: And he's like, yeah, but you know, and I you'll
- 12:24Speaker 6: make Vanna look old.
- 12:26Speaker 4: Oh I would not.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Yeah, wasn't it funny when you're twenty five you think
- 12:31Speaker 2: you look so I thought it.
- 12:33Speaker 3: Was seventy exactly. I'm so grown.
- 12:35Speaker 6: High school was a decade, you know. And I'm like,
- 12:37Speaker 6: I'm like, they said, but we'd love to fly you
- 12:39Speaker 6: out to LA and let you be a contestant on
- 12:42Speaker 6: our show. And I'm like, keep in mind, i am
- 12:45Speaker 6: only twenty five, and I would not react this way today.
- 12:48Speaker 6: But when the guy said we'd love to fly you
- 12:50Speaker 6: at be a contestant, I went, I'm never going to
- 12:52Speaker 6: be the host.
- 12:52Speaker 5: He goes, no, son, I'm sorry you son.
- 12:56Speaker 6: Yeah, And I'm like, really, I don't have a chance.
- 12:59Speaker 6: I can't be Pat Sajack. And he said, no, Pal,
- 13:01Speaker 6: You're just you're just too young and you don't like
- 13:03Speaker 6: your show anyway. Oh, And I'm like, I don't like
- 13:08Speaker 6: TV game shows. I just want to be the host.
- 13:10Speaker 6: I don't want to spin the stupid wheel. I want
- 13:13Speaker 6: to be the star of the show, you know. And
- 13:15Speaker 6: I was like, I burned that bridge, like, oh, I
- 13:20Speaker 6: don't know.
- 13:21Speaker 3: I get it.
- 13:23Speaker 2: I know, I see I see the kids in the hallway.
- 13:25Speaker 2: I call them kids, But you know you see them
- 13:27Speaker 2: at twenty five. You remember how you thought of yourself
- 13:30Speaker 2: at twenty five, and you're like, oh my god.
- 13:32Speaker 3: But then I don't know.
- 13:33Speaker 2: Maybe it's just me, but it seemed like last week
- 13:35Speaker 2: was just August.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 13:36Speaker 5: I should have taken that.
- 13:37Speaker 8: I should have gone down a the done.
- 13:39Speaker 5: The real of fortune and try to get some money
- 13:42Speaker 5: to something else.
- 13:43Speaker 8: Well, you know, but I did not.
- 13:44Speaker 3: Hindsight is twenty twenty, right.
- 13:46Speaker 7: But now you look at your life with your beautiful family,
- 13:49Speaker 7: and you wonder what would be different exactly.
- 13:51Speaker 8: You gotta live with no regrets.
- 13:53Speaker 3: Everything everything would have been.
- 13:54Speaker 5: And it's a great story.
- 13:55Speaker 3: It is a story.
- 13:56Speaker 6: Had I taken that gig and become a big star,
- 13:59Speaker 6: I'd be dead by now.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:01Speaker 5: I never would have made it. Immature Tom who burns
- 14:05Speaker 5: it to the ground, never.
- 14:06Speaker 3: Would have made it. Yeah, I hear you. I'm that,

- 14:20Speaker 8: Let's do it.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Yeah, we're gonna do it because the cat's away, so
- 14:22Speaker 2: the mice are gonna play.
- 14:23Speaker 3: First. We're gonna take a little break.
- 14:25Speaker 2: When we come back, we're going to talk about House
- 14:27Speaker 2: Dems releasing more Jeffrey Epstein photos a Florida nonprofit. Shepherd's
- 14:31Speaker 2: a dissident from Venezuela. There's a headline, and the healthiest
- 14:35Speaker 2: vegetable in the world is We'll tell you that and
- 14:39Speaker 2: more coming up next during JCS News. So keep it
- 14:42Speaker 2: right here on the Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio
- 14:44Speaker 2: one of four point one.
- 14:54Speaker 5: Miss to Tom Sorrows.
- 14:55Speaker 7: It's evil and it's so good to hear your voice.
- 15:00Speaker 8: You are a fellow Space nerd.
- 15:02Speaker 3: No, all right, well anyway, I'm really glad you're there.
- 15:06Speaker 3: By the way, did you ride your motorcycle to the station?
- 15:11Speaker 4: I loved your ties too, Hike.
- 15:17Speaker 2: And welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. I'm Real
- 15:19Speaker 2: Radio one oh four point one. How about that Tom
- 15:21Speaker 2: feeling the love already?
- 15:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I did not ride the motorcycle.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Come on, I.
- 15:27Speaker 6: Exactly actually cofting in place if I'd ridden the motorcycle.
- 15:32Speaker 5: Deb wouldn't be able to sit this close to me.
- 15:33Speaker 3: You know, you smell that great outdoors smell. Oh that's
- 15:36Speaker 3: a good smell. No, no, it's rough. So yeah, the
- 15:42Speaker 3: Tom Mobile not the Tomicle.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Oh there we go. I like all your nicknames, Tom.

- 15:56Speaker 3: Thank you so much. And now it is time to
- 15:59Speaker 3: do some JACUS News.
- 16:01Speaker 1: It's time for JCS news.
- 16:05Speaker 4: Wow, this guy got to put his name on everything.
- 16:07Speaker 9: It's in my contract, dude show.
- 16:11Speaker 2: It's literally like he's still here right And as always,
- 16:14Speaker 2: JCS News is brought to you by that mortgage guy.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Don give him a listen tomorrow morning when he's host
- 16:20Speaker 2: of the Home Loans radio show. House Democrats have released
- 16:23Speaker 2: more photos from the estate of Jeffrey Epstein. Nineteen photos
- 16:27Speaker 2: were released in total today, with one showing President Trump
- 16:30Speaker 2: with six women adult women whose faces are redacted. Others
- 16:34Speaker 2: show Epstein with Steve Bannon, former President Bill Clinton, and
- 16:37Speaker 2: director Woody Allen. Another photo shows Bill Gates with former
- 16:41Speaker 2: Prince Andrew. One image shows a bowl of condoms with
- 16:45Speaker 2: Trump's face on them. None of the photos feature any
- 16:47Speaker 2: sexual misconduct or show underage girls. All right, Venezuela is
- 16:52Speaker 2: fresh in the news, of course, obviously, and a Florida
- 16:55Speaker 2: man is fresh off what he calls the most high
- 16:57Speaker 2: profile rescue operation he has ever conducted. We've talked about
- 17:01Speaker 2: Brian Stern before, the founder of Gray Bull Rescue. So
- 17:05Speaker 2: members of the Tampa nonprofit recently made sure Venezuelan opposition
- 17:09Speaker 2: leader Maria Coriina Machado got to Norway safely so she
- 17:13Speaker 2: could receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
- 17:15Speaker 8: Interesting, isn't that crazy? Because she's in hiding.
- 17:18Speaker 2: She is in hiding, and of course that's going to
- 17:20Speaker 2: be going down this week now. It was called Operation
- 17:23Speaker 2: Golden Dynamite, and Stern says Machado was the highest profile
- 17:27Speaker 2: person his group has ever rescued. He won't say who
- 17:30Speaker 2: funded the operation, but he says it was not the
- 17:33Speaker 2: US government. Stern tell's NBC six it was a great
- 17:36Speaker 2: honor to have the privilege to be asked to do
- 17:39Speaker 2: this operation.
- 17:40Speaker 4: Wow.
- 17:40Speaker 3: Yeah, the things you just know. We don't know who
- 17:43Speaker 3: funded and We don't know.
- 17:44Speaker 7: Don't you just want to be in the room where
- 17:46Speaker 7: you're They need all right, we need an operation title here.
- 17:49Speaker 7: What do you guys got And then they take two
- 17:53Speaker 7: suggestions and they merge it exactly Golden retriever, Bang the dynamite. Okay,
- 17:58Speaker 7: golden dynamite.
- 18:00Speaker 2: That I think I would almost rather be in the
- 18:02Speaker 2: committee that gets to name snowplows in North Dakota, But
- 18:05Speaker 2: this one would be pretty.
- 18:06Speaker 8: Fun too, should snowy the snowplows?
- 18:09Speaker 3: Exactly? All right?
- 18:11Speaker 2: Speaking of things on the roads, construction is going to
- 18:14Speaker 2: begin soon on the four to oh eight eastbound, with
- 18:16Speaker 2: CRUSE adding a fifth lane between Orange Blossom Trail and
- 18:19Speaker 2: I four. The Central Florida Expressway Authority, as expected, approved
- 18:23Speaker 2: the two hundred and eighteen million dollar project, which also
- 18:26Speaker 2: includes improvements to Rio Grand and Tampa AF.
- 18:29Speaker 10: Now.
- 18:30Speaker 2: In addition to the lane expansion, crews are also going
- 18:32Speaker 2: to replace the tolling system between Orange Blossom Trail and
- 18:35Speaker 2: I four, making it all digital and getting rid of
- 18:38Speaker 2: the you know, the kiosks.
- 18:40Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly now.
- 18:41Speaker 2: The improvements to Rio Grand and Tampa AV are expected
- 18:44Speaker 2: to be done by the time the Jaguars move into
- 18:47Speaker 2: the Camping World Stadium for the twenty twenty seven season.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Because nothing says Welcome to Orlando like construction traffic. Meanwhile,
- 18:56Speaker 2: a controversial road project in Osceola County is moving ahead.
- 19:00Speaker 2: The Central Florida Expressway Authority approved plans Tuesday for the
- 19:04Speaker 2: Southport Connector in Pointsiana. It's going to be a fifteen
- 19:07Speaker 2: mile toll road, a toll road between Pointsiana Parkway and
- 19:11Speaker 2: the Florida Turnpike. Some residents oppose it, though myself included,
- 19:15Speaker 2: because it's going to go through the Florida Wildlife Corridor
- 19:18Speaker 2: and it's also close to the Disney Wilderness Preserve. There's
- 19:21Speaker 2: also concerns that toll revenue will only cover less than
- 19:25Speaker 2: thirty percent of the costs.
- 19:28Speaker 7: What are you talking about. They're never going to take
- 19:30Speaker 7: the tolls down. It's going to be ongoing.
- 19:31Speaker 3: Revenue, absolutely, I mean, and if they get rid of
- 19:34Speaker 3: property taxes, it's basically one of the last few sources
- 19:36Speaker 3: of revenue.
- 19:37Speaker 11: Right.
- 19:38Speaker 7: Oh, so, deb you're all about tax the drivers, all right?
- 19:42Speaker 7: His pro tax everybody?
- 19:43Speaker 2: Text, I pay those tolls every single day, twice a day,
- 19:48Speaker 2: Monday through Friday.
- 19:49Speaker 3: You do you?
- 19:50Speaker 8: Yeah? I'd be torn.
- 19:52Speaker 2: I just know you what, You'll drive four forty one
- 19:55Speaker 2: once and you'll be like, oh, where was that toll road?
- 19:58Speaker 7: I have to say, you're right, because would they open
- 20:01Speaker 7: up the expanded eye for with the toll lanes? I swore,
- 20:04Speaker 7: I go, I am never using those. There's a free alternat.
- 20:07Speaker 7: I am never using that. I am just looking down
- 20:10Speaker 7: the road. It look like a little congestion. Okay, I'm
- 20:12Speaker 7: getting on the.
- 20:13Speaker 3: Actually I spend one dollar two bucks to get me home. Exactly,
- 20:17Speaker 3: it's about fifty.
- 20:18Speaker 2: It's about fifty that I'm burning that in gas just
- 20:21Speaker 2: sitting here. I have to say, I used to say
- 20:24Speaker 2: the same thing when I worked at Excel. I would
- 20:26Speaker 2: leave and drive I for and I'm like, I'm not
- 20:28Speaker 2: getting on the East West six. I'm not taking a
- 20:30Speaker 2: toll road. Didn't take long before I was taken the
- 20:32Speaker 2: East West. I took it every day, all right. So
- 20:34Speaker 2: Florida Attorney General issuing gaming platform roadblocks, calling it quote
- 20:38Speaker 2: the new hunting ground for sexual predators end quote that
- 20:42Speaker 2: has refused to implement readily available child safety features. Former
- 20:47Speaker 2: state senator and child sex abuse survivor Lauren Book says
- 20:50Speaker 2: parents simply cannot relax.
- 20:53Speaker 12: That is not going to keep your kids safe online.
- 20:57Speaker 12: In fact, that is ten percent.
- 20:59Speaker 13: The reality is if.
- 21:01Speaker 12: They close down Roadblocks and shift and change, it's going
- 21:04Speaker 12: to be somewhere else.
- 21:05Speaker 2: She stresses, moms and dads need to have conversations with
- 21:08Speaker 2: their kids about online safety and constantly check their phones
- 21:12Speaker 2: and computers. Right, that app may look like a calculator,
- 21:16Speaker 2: it may not be a calculator. In response to the lawsuit,
- 21:19Speaker 2: Roadblock said it is quote built with safety at its
- 21:22Speaker 2: core end quote, and is rolling out measures that go
- 21:24Speaker 2: beyond what is required by law and.
- 21:26Speaker 3: Continues to strengthen protections every day.
- 21:30Speaker 5: No, none of them have our best.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Interesting, No, And and today I saw in some of
- 21:34Speaker 2: the one of the local news reports talked about like
- 21:36Speaker 2: some of the games like Kill Your Friends and Survive
- 21:39Speaker 2: the Killer, some that even like are modeled after like
- 21:42Speaker 2: Escaping Jeffrey Epstein's Island.
- 21:45Speaker 11: What exactly? Really?
- 21:47Speaker 3: Yes, Yes, I don't think about that.
- 21:48Speaker 2: And it was I'm just like, Okay, if you're a gamer,
- 21:51Speaker 2: if you're a game developer, how could you ever believe
- 21:54Speaker 2: I just nothing about that is appropriate?
- 21:56Speaker 3: All right? This is interesting.
- 21:58Speaker 2: This is not the first time this has happened, And
- 22:00Speaker 2: and it sparked a lot of conversation, but an AI
- 22:02Speaker 2: weapons detection system at Lawton Child's Middle School triggered a
- 22:07Speaker 2: code read after a student was seen holding a clarinet
- 22:11Speaker 2: like a rifle. Now, the principal emphasis was to know, hey,
- 22:16Speaker 2: this is real, radio, this is keep it real.
- 22:18Speaker 3: The principal emphasize absolutely.
- 22:22Speaker 2: The principal emphasized that the student wasn't threatening anyone, and
- 22:25Speaker 2: the system simply misinterpreted the posture. Police responded anyway. Parents
- 22:30Speaker 2: were notified as sparking.
- 22:31Speaker 3: Debate over the reliability of AI security with say, you guys.
- 22:35Speaker 7: I have no problem with this, sorry, Right, So the
- 22:39Speaker 7: kid who's pretending that is clarinet is a well, I
- 22:42Speaker 7: assume a rifle, right.
- 22:43Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, and anyone who's played clarinet, myself included,
- 22:46Speaker 2: it's not the sexiest, you know, instrument, So you got
- 22:48Speaker 2: a spice of that.
- 22:49Speaker 7: Anyway, clarinet would be more like a musket, right doesn't
- 22:51Speaker 7: why exactly? So a I could have said weapon detected,
- 22:56Speaker 7: not a threat, right right? No black powder to detected?
- 23:00Speaker 7: The yes to err on the side of caution. If it,
- 23:05Speaker 7: you know, AI detects this could be a possible weapon,
- 23:07Speaker 7: and it doesn't.
- 23:09Speaker 3: Alert, right, and it is boom that got a problem? Yeah,
- 23:13Speaker 3: got a problem.
- 23:14Speaker 7: Yeah, and maybe the lesson is Okay, let's not pretend
- 23:17Speaker 7: we're using guns. Obviously. I think the system work. Actually
- 23:21Speaker 7: I think it was. Yeah, I have no problem with it.
- 23:24Speaker 2: Yeah, exactly do this right, Yeah, exactly take those chances,
- 23:29Speaker 2: all right. In the meantime, words of caution on Tampa
- 23:32Speaker 2: Bay twenty eight as a pilot drone safety program is
- 23:35Speaker 2: set to debut next year in three school districts. That's Broward,
- 23:38Speaker 2: Leon and Volusia County. Remember they're going to fly drones
- 23:42Speaker 2: and be able to into the school, be able to
- 23:44Speaker 2: real time give law enforcement.
- 23:46Speaker 3: Into the school.
- 23:47Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, so that they would be able to tell
- 23:49Speaker 2: them what's going on.
- 23:50Speaker 7: Well, just like a roving robot or the robot dog,
- 23:53Speaker 7: just getting intel without risking human life of sending it in.
- 23:57Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 23:57Speaker 3: So.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Tani Montalto lost his daughter, Gina in twenty eighteen's Marjorie
- 24:02Speaker 2: Stoneman Douglas High massacre. Debbie Hickson's husband was also among
- 24:06Speaker 2: these seventeen killed on the school grounds.
- 24:08Speaker 3: He was the coach. How is it going to know
- 24:10Speaker 3: who it's attacking?
- 24:11Speaker 11: How will the signal strength be.
- 24:13Speaker 3: What about the students? Is it going to be safe?
- 24:15Speaker 8: You have to remember we're here partially because communications failed.
- 24:19Speaker 11: Well.
- 24:19Speaker 2: The Campus Guardian Angel program uses drones to distract active
- 24:23Speaker 2: shooters while providing real time audio and video feeds to
- 24:27Speaker 2: guardians and law enforcement during potential threats on school campuses.
- 24:31Speaker 2: It'll be integrated with the Alissa Alert that is a
- 24:34Speaker 2: silent panic button systems named after another victim, Alissa Alhadef.
- 24:40Speaker 7: All Right, I think we have too many of victim victims.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Exactly, exactly, all right. One a couple more school notes.
- 24:47Speaker 2: After calls to appeal all vaccine mandates in Florida, the
- 24:50Speaker 2: state Department of Health is meeting up in Panama City
- 24:53Speaker 2: Beach today to discuss changing requirements in public schools. Infectious
- 24:57Speaker 2: disease specialist doctor Eileen Marty says these decisions cannot be politicized.
- 25:02Speaker 12: There have been any public health menasure, not even sanitation,
- 25:08Speaker 12: that comes anywhere close to having reduced death and morbidity.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Currently, Florida requires children entering a public school in kindergarten
- 25:17Speaker 2: through twelfth grade to have at least four doses of
- 25:19Speaker 2: the TDAP vaccine, which protects against tetanus and whooping cough.
- 25:23Speaker 2: But parents can opt out citing religious exemptions. And then
- 25:27Speaker 2: we're going to talk about this story a little bit
- 25:29Speaker 2: later on. But I decided this guy deserves his tea,
- 25:32Speaker 2: his flowers. Now, a Valencia College graduate is proving you're
- 25:35Speaker 2: never too old to learn something new. The Orlando school
- 25:38Speaker 2: announced yesterday eighty two year old Paul Grisell Read is
- 25:42Speaker 2: this year's oldest graduate. The Army veteran decided to take
- 25:46Speaker 2: a Spanish class at the school a few years ago
- 25:49Speaker 2: and then decided, what the heck, let's go for my
- 25:51Speaker 2: associate's degree. He was awarded his degree in wednesday's commencement ceremony,
- 25:56Speaker 2: and he isn't stopping there though. He's now working on
- 25:58Speaker 2: his bachelor's degree in English literature at UCF.
- 26:02Speaker 3: Also, isn't that cool.
- 26:03Speaker 7: That you need purpose? Exactly purpose? I'm actually this is
- 26:08Speaker 7: directly sent to my buddy, Captain Sunshine here in retirement.
- 26:13Speaker 7: You need to find purpose, so you do every day
- 26:16Speaker 7: and then you take a class and it led to
- 26:18Speaker 7: another exactly that thirst for knowledge is awesome and good
- 26:23Speaker 7: for that guy.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely kudos to him.
- 26:25Speaker 8: What is he going to do with his degree?
- 26:27Speaker 3: I don't know. You know what that that's the fascinating part.
- 26:30Speaker 2: At eighty two, now he doesn't have to have the
- 26:32Speaker 2: pressure studying a degree exactly that that's going to serve
- 26:36Speaker 2: a career.
- 26:37Speaker 3: It's a degree of that he loves.
- 26:39Speaker 7: I took almost a decade off between my first semester
- 26:43Speaker 7: of college and then when I went back, and I remember,
- 26:45Speaker 7: as I was getting thinking about going back, I was
- 26:49Speaker 7: like talk. I was talking to someone at the place
- 26:52Speaker 7: at the bar. I was managing. I'm like, you know,
- 26:54Speaker 7: I'm going to be thirty years old going to school
- 26:56Speaker 7: with these See, he's got to listen. One day, you're
- 26:59Speaker 7: five years from now, you're going to be thirty five.
- 27:01Speaker 7: Whether you're thirty five with a degree or without a
- 27:04Speaker 7: degree is up to you. When you get that degree,
- 27:07Speaker 7: they'll never be able to take it away. So the
- 27:09Speaker 7: fact that you're thirty when you're doing it does not matter.
- 27:12Speaker 3: It doesn't matter at all.
- 27:13Speaker 8: And I always remembered that, and.
- 27:14Speaker 2: It's so true because imagine what an inspiration, hopefully it
- 27:17Speaker 2: is to see an eighty two year old walking along
- 27:19Speaker 2: the campus and then the.
- 27:20Speaker 3: Really old thirty year old Jack Bradshaw.
- 27:22Speaker 5: Right, come on, now, I'll go back to College of
- 27:24Speaker 5: twenty eight two, Jack, I did.
- 27:26Speaker 3: So when I went in.
- 27:27Speaker 7: And then now you realize you've just been working in
- 27:30Speaker 7: the real world for a decade. Right now you're here
- 27:33Speaker 7: and all you have to do is give them back
- 27:35Speaker 7: the information they're giving you. And see these beautiful young women.
- 27:41Speaker 7: It is your class. It's creepy now. But when I was.
- 27:45Speaker 3: Thirty, it didn't sound so bad, right, Furnature Jack, Then
- 27:49Speaker 3: again I was still eight years older. Tho, How what
- 27:51Speaker 3: are you gonna do?
- 27:53Speaker 10: All right?
- 27:53Speaker 2: Orange County is expecting record tourism tax revenue next year.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Commissioners are setting their hopes high after nearly three hundred
- 28:01Speaker 2: and eighty five million dollars was collected for the twenty
- 28:03Speaker 2: twenty four to twenty.
- 28:04Speaker 3: Five fiscal year.
- 28:05Speaker 2: It's not yet clear how those tax dollars will be used.
- 28:09Speaker 2: County leaders are going to discuss their options at their
- 28:11Speaker 2: upcoming meeting. Oh what started here in central Florida is
- 28:15Speaker 2: spreading Miami Dade County has now announced it has zero
- 28:19Speaker 2: tolerance when it comes to breaking disabled parking permit laws,
- 28:23Speaker 2: effective immediately. The office of County tax Collector Daniel Fernandez
- 28:28Speaker 2: is executing a full county wide audit of every disabled
- 28:32Speaker 2: parking permit and temporary disabled parking permit application filed within
- 28:37Speaker 2: the last twenty four months. And if you remember, this
- 28:40Speaker 2: was because earlier this month a sting operation in Lake
- 28:43Speaker 2: County over in Mount Dora at the Walmart and Target
- 28:46Speaker 2: stores netted thirty people in jail in like what it
- 28:49Speaker 2: was it jack two.
- 28:50Speaker 3: Days or one day? Not at all?
- 28:53Speaker 8: They got them quickly.
- 28:54Speaker 3: Oh yeah, exactly for using the placards illegally. So it'll
- 28:58Speaker 3: be interesting.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I know it's going to be interesting to see if
- 29:00Speaker 2: there's going to be other counties that are not going
- 29:02Speaker 2: to follow suit seeing how many people were nabbed just
- 29:05Speaker 2: in just a matter of hours.
- 29:07Speaker 5: You only want to see them with a placard. I
- 29:08Speaker 5: think they need it.
- 29:10Speaker 3: That's nearly what you think, you know, It's interesting.
- 29:12Speaker 2: We were trying to figure out, like how would they
- 29:15Speaker 2: know they were fraudulent? I mean, I know if the
- 29:16Speaker 2: date on there isn't correct, But outside of.
- 29:19Speaker 7: That, when you get when you also get a sheet
- 29:21Speaker 7: of paper that comes from the DMV that says the
- 29:24Speaker 7: registration for it, says that you're supposed to have it
- 29:28Speaker 7: and the and the name of the person it's connected to.
- 29:31Speaker 7: So if they asked, You're supposed to present that like
- 29:35Speaker 7: an insurance card or your license. Yeah, and if you
- 29:37Speaker 7: don't have, if the person it's connected to is not
- 29:40Speaker 7: with you and you're using it, that is also fraudulent use.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Yeah, and that's that's one of the people they busted said, well,
- 29:47Speaker 2: my grandma's in the store and this is her card.
- 29:49Speaker 2: And they're like, yeah, no, dude, we've been watching you
- 29:52Speaker 2: for a while. Wow, good job on trying to I.
- 29:55Speaker 3: Just it's one of those things I can't believe people do.
- 29:57Speaker 3: I know. I just can't believe that now.
- 30:00Speaker 8: Lying on your resume, do people really do that a lot?
- 30:05Speaker 4: Wow?
- 30:05Speaker 2: Okay, what do you guys think? Has just been named
- 30:08Speaker 2: the healthiest vegetable in.
- 30:10Speaker 3: The world asparagus? If you get this, I will give
- 30:13Speaker 3: you one hundred dollars Parson it watercress?
- 30:17Speaker 8: Really?
- 30:18Speaker 3: I know, right? Is that really a vegetable?
- 30:21Speaker 7: I also, the only thing I know about watercrest it
- 30:25Speaker 7: was in an I Love Lucy episode that was it
- 30:27Speaker 7: and they talked about having watercress sandwiches.
- 30:30Speaker 8: I had no idea what it is.
- 30:31Speaker 2: And I remember when you used to get was it
- 30:33Speaker 2: frozen Chinese food or you'd get you get some watercress.
- 30:36Speaker 3: It was like the crunchiest part of the meal. But yeah.
- 30:39Speaker 2: The CDC recently released a list ranking forty one powerhouse
- 30:44Speaker 2: fruits and vegetables, and members of the cabbage family topped
- 30:47Speaker 2: it non surprised there. According to the CDC, watercress earned
- 30:50Speaker 2: a perfect score of one hundred quote because of its
- 30:53Speaker 2: dense profile of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants and a low
- 30:57Speaker 2: calorie package end quote chink. Thees cabbage and chard came
- 31:01Speaker 2: in second and third, respectively, while what do you think
- 31:04Speaker 2: was ranked the least healthy veggie on the list?
- 31:09Speaker 3: Iceberg? You know that's that's a very good sweet potato.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Really yeah, I would have thought that did pretty well.
- 31:17Speaker 3: I would have as well. I guess so. I guess so.
- 31:21Speaker 2: And you know, of course everyone's going well too late
- 31:23Speaker 2: ate a whole bunch of it at Thanksgiving.
- 31:25Speaker 5: Love sweet potato fries.
- 31:26Speaker 3: Oh yeah, exactly what I thought I was doing less
- 31:28Speaker 3: helf right, I guess not just throw some watercress on it.
- 31:33Speaker 3: This is healthy, exactly What do you mean my cheeseburger,
- 31:35Speaker 3: my sweet potato fries?
- 31:39Speaker 2: Either way, that concludes your JCS news.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Fries.
- 31:44Speaker 2: We're gonna take a little break and then when we

- 32:47Speaker 2: you doing? I just made that up great? How's your
- 32:52Speaker 2: holiday season treating you? Are you ready for Christmas?
- 32:54Speaker 6: Yet?
- 32:55Speaker 10: Ready?
- 32:56Speaker 9: I'm actually going to some holiday party right after the shows.
- 33:00Speaker 11: So really, yeah, that's why I'm not wearing a hat.
- 33:03Speaker 11: And I looked somewhat.
- 33:05Speaker 3: I was gonna say, your hair looks kind of fluffy. Today, dish.
- 33:13Speaker 3: We'll have fun at your party. Is this like a
- 33:15Speaker 3: work party?
- 33:16Speaker 11: No, it's actually.
- 33:19Speaker 9: People that we bought the house from our previous house, right,
- 33:23Speaker 9: we just maintained friendship with them, and so we're just
- 33:26Speaker 9: going to their house. They live down in winter Garden
- 33:28Speaker 9: somewhere like far, like really far. So it'll take us
- 33:32Speaker 9: at least an hour to get there.
- 33:33Speaker 2: Oh wow, well at least, you know, you know, they
- 33:35Speaker 2: say there's a I haven't been recently myself, but apparently
- 33:38Speaker 2: there are a lot of great restaurants in winter Garden.
- 33:41Speaker 9: There are, there are, and many more to come in fact, So, uh,
- 33:45Speaker 9: we can talk about Winter Garden the restaurants seen in
- 33:48Speaker 9: Windergarten another time, because we have a lot to get to.
- 33:51Speaker 3: Yeah, so what do you want to start off with
- 33:53Speaker 3: with your reviews?
- 33:56Speaker 9: We can say, oh, you know, we should start off
- 33:57Speaker 9: with what we talked about last week. You know, last
- 34:00Speaker 9: week we talked about Shae Vincent there in Hannibal Square
- 34:02Speaker 9: closing after I don't know twenty eight years or something,
- 34:05Speaker 9: and I believe their last day of services December twenty first,
- 34:08Speaker 9: and we speculated based on a conversation I had with
- 34:12Speaker 9: Brandon mcglamory at Cows and Calves in early November that
- 34:16Speaker 9: he would be the one that would be opening a
- 34:18Speaker 9: concept in that space.
- 34:20Speaker 11: And sure as hell we were. We were right. You know,
- 34:21Speaker 11: we told your.
- 34:23Speaker 9: Listeners that you know this is this is you know,
- 34:26Speaker 9: a privileged information. I guess it was, and and so yeah,
- 34:30Speaker 9: and it turned out to be true, which I always
- 34:32Speaker 9: like when when rumors have to be true.
- 34:34Speaker 8: So especially especially when you put him out there into the.
- 34:37Speaker 11: World, into the world.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Yeah, it makes you look like the genius. Yeah.
- 34:42Speaker 11: That was not planned.
- 34:44Speaker 3: It was not planned. It's just the way the universe works.
- 34:48Speaker 11: So he's so Brandon mcglamory.
- 34:50Speaker 9: He was known for Luma on Park, the much Miss
- 34:52Speaker 9: Luma on Park, prato In on Park Avenue, and Luke's
- 34:56Speaker 9: Kitchen there in Maitland, but it's no longer with that
- 34:58Speaker 9: restaurant group starting his own venture.
- 35:01Speaker 11: It's kind of it's going to be called the.
- 35:02Speaker 9: Reverie and it'll it'll yeah, it'll span both Shave Vincent
- 35:07Speaker 9: and the adjacent Hannibal's Lounge spaces, so it'll be in
- 35:11Speaker 9: and what he's calling an American brasserie. So it'll have
- 35:15Speaker 9: you know, it'll have a nod to European and French
- 35:18Speaker 9: French influence with a bit of you know, American sensibilities,
- 35:21Speaker 9: is what he's saying. It'll be, it'll be approachable, it'll
- 35:25Speaker 9: be you know, he's very much into sourcing locally. So
- 35:29Speaker 9: look for that in the fall of twenty twenty six,
- 35:32Speaker 9: I believe, is what they said. And they'll have cocktails.
- 35:35Speaker 9: I have a pretty decent wine list. They're going to
- 35:38Speaker 9: completely gut the place. And the funny thing is that
- 35:40Speaker 9: the owner of Shave Vincent is staying on because he
- 35:44Speaker 9: owns the property, so he'll effectively be their landlord.
- 35:48Speaker 11: So yeah, look for that. It's called the Reverie xcex Fall.
- 35:52Speaker 2: All right, Well, I know one thing that you are
- 35:54Speaker 2: going to be able to give us a review on
- 35:55Speaker 2: is Pearla's Pizza.
- 35:58Speaker 11: Pearli's Pizza.
- 35:59Speaker 9: Yeah, so this is Michael Kalantis, is what he It's
- 36:02Speaker 9: this non conformist pie house is what I was, was
- 36:05Speaker 9: what I like to call it, and it's it's actually
- 36:07Speaker 9: equal parts pizza, rea and vinyl record bar.
- 36:11Speaker 11: Oh cool, I'm telling yeah. Yeah.
- 36:13Speaker 9: So the the thumping base, uh, there there's a thumping base.
- 36:17Speaker 9: There's to the point where you know, when our pizza
- 36:20Speaker 9: was set was set on top of this this chrome stand.
- 36:22Speaker 9: It was like vibrating like a coin on a washing machine.
- 36:25Speaker 9: It I mean, it's it's got that vibe. It's a
- 36:28Speaker 9: very vibe kind of place.
- 36:29Speaker 11: But the pizza, the pizza is also great.
- 36:31Speaker 9: And in version one point oh of Perlis, which was
- 36:34Speaker 9: on Virginia Drive, I was a big fan of of
- 36:37Speaker 9: a pizza called the It's bananas and it's it's obvious
- 36:41Speaker 9: has bananas on there. It's got like pepperoni cups, Calabria
- 36:44Speaker 9: and Chile. But my only knock against is pizza is
- 36:47Speaker 9: that I didn't feel there was enough bananas on it.
- 36:49Speaker 9: And so with the with version two point oh, which
- 36:52Speaker 9: is on Fairbanks next to the recently closed bar Coatta
- 36:55Speaker 9: and and so Ski there he's he's got that sing
- 36:58Speaker 9: pizza on there, and once again I didn't I felt
- 37:01Speaker 9: there weren't enough bananas in there. And both Klantas and
- 37:04Speaker 9: the general manager's name is Colin Burke, they said they're
- 37:07Speaker 9: a bit leary of of placing too many bananas on
- 37:11Speaker 9: the pizza.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Yeah, you got it.
- 37:12Speaker 2: These people into bananas on pizza when you consider how
- 37:15Speaker 2: people react to pineapple.
- 37:16Speaker 7: Because yeah, my favorite number of pineapple of bananas on
- 37:20Speaker 7: the pizza is zero if not, if not a negative number.
- 37:26Speaker 2: You know, real quick fight is if we do get
- 37:28Speaker 2: the chance, I do hope you will be able to
- 37:30Speaker 2: review where Jack got his lunch today, but we'll leave
- 37:34Speaker 2: that for after. We were talking about Burla's banana pizza.
- 37:37Speaker 2: What was the texture? Like, I mean, was it was
- 37:39Speaker 2: it sweet to balance the savory? For those who think there's.
- 37:43Speaker 9: Yeah, so there's meaty, there's there's the pepperoni cups around there,
- 37:46Speaker 9: there's Colabrian chili's. You have this, you have the spicy,
- 37:49Speaker 9: and the bananas are there to offset a bit of that.
- 37:51Speaker 9: But you know, the funny thing is that both both
- 37:53Speaker 9: colantas and and the general managers said that some people
- 37:56Speaker 9: ordered the order this pizza without the bananas, to which
- 37:59Speaker 9: I respond ordering ordering a pizza called It's bananas without bananas,
- 38:04Speaker 9: SI simply.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Bananas, had a whole lot of bananas.
- 38:09Speaker 8: That would be me.
- 38:10Speaker 9: My well, my favorite pizza there actually is the one
- 38:15Speaker 9: called the Hawaiian Punch because it incorporates what I love
- 38:19Speaker 9: in a pizza. It's got it's got the sweet, it's
- 38:21Speaker 9: got this pineapple jam, it's got the smoky, it's got
- 38:23Speaker 9: bacon on it, it's got fiery, it's got the spicy
- 38:26Speaker 9: with julapanos, and then it's got the pickled it's got
- 38:28Speaker 9: pickled onions on there. And for me, this was my
- 38:31Speaker 9: favorite pizza because there was a lot going on in
- 38:33Speaker 9: every body and it was thoroughly gratifying. The crust is
- 38:36Speaker 9: absolutely great. The pizza olo there, the guy's name is
- 38:39Speaker 9: Marco Puglieli, and you know, I should say that they're
- 38:45Speaker 9: making what they're what they're touting is Florida Man pizza
- 38:48Speaker 9: with an intent to be hated by all Italians.
- 38:51Speaker 11: That's your stadd goal.
- 38:54Speaker 9: That's a brilliant But there's a pizza there. It's called
- 38:56Speaker 9: the it's called Mom's Spaghetti and Meatballs. And there's no
- 38:59Speaker 9: space getty actually on the pizza, but there's meat balls
- 39:02Speaker 9: on it.
- 39:02Speaker 11: It's fantastic. They got things like lemon.
- 39:05Speaker 9: Ricotta, garlic, butter, basil, parsley, parmesan and and I don't
- 39:13Speaker 9: imagine there's that many Italians that wouldn't like this pizza.
- 39:16Speaker 9: So there's another one called Tika the hut. It's an
- 39:19Speaker 9: indian Ish type of pizza with with chicken and garama
- 39:22Speaker 9: sal and pickled onions, and that one left much to
- 39:26Speaker 9: be desired, especially.
- 39:27Speaker 11: It looks the Indianish people at our table. Yeah, yeah,
- 39:29Speaker 11: it wasn't. It wasn't. It wasn't all of that.
- 39:32Speaker 9: But the wings are great though, which Jack, if you're
- 39:35Speaker 9: watching on Jim Colbert Live right now, he has the
- 39:37Speaker 9: garlic knots on there, and the garlic knots I thought
- 39:40Speaker 9: were great. You know, Pizza Bruno, Pizza Bruno look Out
- 39:43Speaker 9: and Booglieli also makes on weekends, he makes this banana
- 39:47Speaker 9: pudding and the one thing that it doesn't lack bananas.
- 39:51Speaker 2: So see, Jack, you can still get your banana fix
- 39:53Speaker 2: without putting it on your pizza.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 39:55Speaker 8: Now.
- 39:56Speaker 7: You also went to a place that I'm intrigued by
- 40:00Speaker 7: here and you know what does it aligne When there's
- 40:03Speaker 7: a line out the door, You're like, Hey, what's happening
- 40:05Speaker 7: in that point? No, And for the longest time Hmart
- 40:08Speaker 7: has had a line, so you you recently got in.
- 40:12Speaker 9: I've gone like three times. So the first time I
- 40:14Speaker 9: went there, there was no line. I mean it was
- 40:16Speaker 9: I'm not saying that it wasn't busy, but there was
- 40:18Speaker 9: no line to get in. I went with my wife
- 40:21Speaker 9: and she almost got into a fight at the in
- 40:24Speaker 9: the waiting for waiting in line for at the bath
- 40:26Speaker 9: for the bathroom way. We left immediately, and so I
- 40:34Speaker 9: went back the next day to do some grocery shopping.
- 40:36Speaker 9: And let me tell you it, they have an amazing
- 40:39Speaker 9: and amazing selection of produce and meats and snacks. But
- 40:44Speaker 9: I'm telling you the the fish market they have there
- 40:46Speaker 9: is is worth is worth just going.
- 40:49Speaker 11: For just for itself.
- 40:50Speaker 9: It's they they're they're getting deliveries daily from the Fulton
- 40:53Speaker 9: Fish Market in New York and the Bronx. When I went,
- 40:57Speaker 9: they had live lobster there for eight dollars and eight
- 41:00Speaker 9: cents a pounds, so.
- 41:01Speaker 11: I picked up. I picked up a couple of.
- 41:03Speaker 9: Lobster for twenty bucks and I cooked them up that night.
- 41:06Speaker 9: I've also I've also picked up fresh Durian, not frozen,
- 41:10Speaker 9: but fresh durian. And you know what durian is. It's
- 41:13Speaker 9: the king of all fruits. And it literally smells like
- 41:16Speaker 9: poo yeah.
- 41:17Speaker 11: When you open it.
- 41:18Speaker 9: But but we live, Me and and a few you
- 41:21Speaker 9: know fellow food hooligans. We live hacked this thing in
- 41:23Speaker 9: the parking lot, much of the chagrin of the security
- 41:26Speaker 9: team there, but I'm thankful they let us cut this
- 41:29Speaker 9: thing up and eat it in the parking lot because
- 41:32Speaker 9: it was it was it was delicious. If you haven't
- 41:34Speaker 9: had Durian, I'm a big fan. They have fresh Durian there.
- 41:38Speaker 9: But but what Jack is showing right now, if you're
- 41:40Speaker 9: watching on Jim Colbert Live, is the is the food
- 41:42Speaker 9: court and so so it is perpetually busy. A lot
- 41:46Speaker 9: of people go there for for the variety of like
- 41:49Speaker 9: Korean fair and and in one case a non Korean fair.
- 41:52Speaker 9: There's a place there called Cheetahon Kotsu Place and they
- 41:56Speaker 9: specialize in katsu, which are essentially cutlets panko fried cutlets,
- 42:01Speaker 9: and it is so crisp, it is so light, it's
- 42:04Speaker 9: the absolutely if you're into katsu, definitely go to that place.
- 42:08Speaker 9: What Jack is showing right now is a uh is topuki,
- 42:11Speaker 9: a place called Jaws Took and.
- 42:14Speaker 11: This is sort of like a soup type of dish.
- 42:17Speaker 9: It sets in a gochu jang based sauce, so it's
- 42:20Speaker 9: very spicy and it's filled with what totao buki, which
- 42:24Speaker 9: are which are these cylindrical, chewy sort of rice cakes.
- 42:28Speaker 9: And there's a quail leg in there. There's some fish cakes,
- 42:30Speaker 9: there's cabbage, there's all kinds of stuff. And the funny
- 42:33Speaker 9: thing is when we ordered this, they have regular and spicy,
- 42:36Speaker 9: and the woman behind the counters she said, just so
- 42:38Speaker 9: you know, the regular is also very spicy.
- 42:41Speaker 11: So we we just got the regular and I and
- 42:44Speaker 11: it is very spicy.
- 42:46Speaker 9: There's a place next door called There's there's the katsu
- 42:50Speaker 9: right there.
- 42:50Speaker 11: If you're watching, there's another place there called you Chan.
- 42:54Speaker 9: And if there's one thing you have at this food court,
- 42:56Speaker 9: if there's one thing you should you should have, it's
- 42:58Speaker 9: a It's from a place called you Chun, and it's
- 43:01Speaker 9: the mule ning me On, which is a they're essentially
- 43:05Speaker 9: cold buckwheat noodles. That are and there's a picture of
- 43:08Speaker 9: it right there. They're cold buckwheat noodles beneath an icy
- 43:12Speaker 9: slush of vinegary beef broth.
- 43:14Speaker 3: And it is so good. It's top sure because none
- 43:17Speaker 3: of us.
- 43:17Speaker 9: I'm telling you it may not sound good, but I'm telling
- 43:20Speaker 9: you taste this thing.
- 43:21Speaker 11: It is outstanding.
- 43:22Speaker 3: Did you have to sleep in the living room? Yeah? Man,
- 43:27Speaker 3: slushy beef broth? What?
- 43:29Speaker 9: Yeah, I know it sounds crazy, it's a cold beef broth.
- 43:32Speaker 9: It's like it's like a slush. It's an icy slush,
- 43:34Speaker 9: but it is outstanding and especially in the hot day.
- 43:37Speaker 11: Yeah, I'm telling you.
- 43:38Speaker 9: The soup this potter cold, honestly, it's it's it's a
- 43:41Speaker 9: great soup. It's top with like Julian cucumbers and pickled
- 43:44Speaker 9: radish and that soft boiled egg and sesame seeds and
- 43:47Speaker 9: it's served with this with this hot sauce. This it's
- 43:50Speaker 9: it's called a name meon sauce. And it's truly truly outstanding.
- 43:54Speaker 9: But you can read about all the places that I visited.
- 43:56Speaker 9: I went to every single one of those food vendors'
- 44:00Speaker 9: a place called mung Ya Barbecue that has amazing kimchi
- 44:03Speaker 9: pancakes and that's a great, great option for vegetarians or
- 44:06Speaker 9: people don't eat meat, because a lot of the options
- 44:08Speaker 9: there are pretty meat heavy. But said, they do have
- 44:10Speaker 9: some non meat items and the kimchi pancake, I'm telling you,
- 44:14Speaker 9: and there's a picture of it right there.
- 44:17Speaker 11: Yeah, so it's very good.
- 44:20Speaker 2: And thirty maybe thirty sixty seconds to rub the to
- 44:23Speaker 2: get the slushy beef broth out of our head. Give
- 44:27Speaker 2: us a real quick review for the Haraz Coffee House Horaz.
- 44:32Speaker 9: Coffee, So that just opened. So it's a it's a
- 44:35Speaker 9: Michigan based Yemeny cafe that's open next to the recently
- 44:38Speaker 9: opened Pig Floyd's there in winter Park. I believe it's
- 44:41Speaker 9: fifteen sixty one Lee Road. And so I mean they
- 44:45Speaker 9: offer both Eastern and Western style coffees. But in addition
- 44:49Speaker 9: to like Turkish coffee and Saudi coffee, Saudi coffee is
- 44:53Speaker 9: very much like Turkish coffee, but it has saffron and
- 44:55Speaker 9: cardama minute you know, they offer everything for macha and
- 44:59Speaker 9: fruit teas and and and juices and such like this.
- 45:02Speaker 9: But but Yemeni coffee, you know, it comes from the
- 45:05Speaker 9: mountain mountainous region of Yemen called I believe it's called
- 45:08Speaker 9: Jabal Harahz. And so a lot of Yemeny coffee is
- 45:12Speaker 9: flavored with the aforementioned saffron and cardamom and ginger and
- 45:16Speaker 9: cinnamon and you know, uh.
- 45:19Speaker 11: Things like that.
- 45:20Speaker 9: So and they also have a coffee husk, so you know,
- 45:23Speaker 9: the shell of the coffee bean. They use that to
- 45:26Speaker 9: make a coffee like beverage as well. So it looks
- 45:30Speaker 9: beautiful in there. I haven't been that just opened yesterday,
- 45:33Speaker 9: but it looks gorgeous inside. If you're into coffee and
- 45:36Speaker 9: you want to try something a little different, Harahs Coffee
- 45:39Speaker 9: House in winter Park.
- 45:40Speaker 2: And of course, just like you said, Faias, they can
- 45:43Speaker 2: get the reviews of all of the restaurants we talked
- 45:45Speaker 2: about today and more at The Orlando Weekly.
- 45:47Speaker 3: Where can they find you on social media?
- 45:49Speaker 11: Yeah, you can find me on Instagram.
- 45:51Speaker 9: I put post all my stuff there at it's fayaz
- 45:53Speaker 9: kara I T s f A I y A z

- 48:07Speaker 2: you helped make it that much more fun. And what
- 48:10Speaker 2: we're gonna do now is we're gonna bring you one
- 48:12Speaker 2: of those really great feel good stories that hit just
- 48:15Speaker 2: a little extra special this time of the year. But
- 48:18Speaker 2: you know, teachers, right, so much as asked to teachers,
- 48:20Speaker 2: in fact, it seems like more and more and more
- 48:24Speaker 2: as asked to teachers, and then you have some teachers
- 48:26Speaker 2: who answer that call and are able to go above
- 48:29Speaker 2: and beyond. So gentlemen, please join me in welcoming. Megan
- 48:33Speaker 2: DeWitt's a teacher at Triangle Elementary School in Mount Dora, yay.
- 48:40Speaker 3: Why Megan, how are you?
- 48:42Speaker 13: I'm wonderful, how are you good?
- 48:43Speaker 3: Good? Good? Listen.
- 48:44Speaker 2: I came across your story this morning on Fox thirty
- 48:47Speaker 2: five and as you know, immediately put a call into
- 48:50Speaker 2: the school and said, we need to talk to Megan
- 48:52Speaker 2: and find out how of all things, your school wish
- 48:56Speaker 2: list was fulfilled by none other than Paris Hilton.
- 49:00Speaker 3: How did that happen? So?
- 49:04Speaker 13: I am a second year teacher, and I created a
- 49:07Speaker 13: wish list right when I started teaching through Amazon and
- 49:13Speaker 13: all also donors choose, and I turned my classroom into
- 49:17Speaker 13: a home very very quickly, a safe space that the
- 49:19Speaker 13: students want to be at and race. I teach at
- 49:25Speaker 13: a Title I school, which means majority or low income,
- 49:28Speaker 13: and I provide daily snacks for my students and I
- 49:33Speaker 13: did that all year last year, and so at the
- 49:36Speaker 13: beginning of this year, we knew that we had a
- 49:41Speaker 13: high need because of a lot going on in the world.
- 49:45Speaker 13: And we feed our students over the weekend. So we
- 49:49Speaker 13: send food home for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for children
- 49:53Speaker 13: who need a little extra. And sometimes we have forty
- 49:57Speaker 13: students and sometimes we have seventy. It can range on
- 50:00Speaker 13: the needs and we were short on food, Our school
- 50:04Speaker 13: was short on food. So I said, I can step up,
- 50:07Speaker 13: and I think I can make this happen. And so
- 50:09Speaker 13: I added a lot of food items, non perishable items
- 50:14Speaker 13: that people could use that live in their cars, live
- 50:17Speaker 13: in hotels, That's easy to cook, easy to eat. And
- 50:21Speaker 13: Paris Hilton happened to see one of my tiktoks and
- 50:25Speaker 13: because that's what my TikTok page is devoted to, is
- 50:29Speaker 13: raising supplies for other teachers for my classroom. Just wherever
- 50:33Speaker 13: there's a need, I'm there to fill it. And she
- 50:36Speaker 13: saw one of my videos asking for food and she
- 50:41Speaker 13: purchased a ton of stuff from my list and supplies
- 50:44Speaker 13: a food and supplies, And I was just why me.
- 50:50Speaker 13: I'm just a teacher, I'm just a mom. I am
- 50:53Speaker 13: just like why me. I just felt so thrilled that
- 50:57Speaker 13: she saw that it caught her attention and we and
- 51:02Speaker 13: so we filled our pantry. And then because she shared
- 51:06Speaker 13: my post on her social media page, it helped me
- 51:10Speaker 13: get a lot more followers. I was only at six
- 51:12Speaker 13: thousand followers on TikTok, and then I grew several thousand
- 51:17Speaker 13: followers from her, and then it just launched every Since then,
- 51:22Speaker 13: I've just had viral after viral after viral video. One
- 51:25Speaker 13: video had three million followers views.
- 51:28Speaker 2: I know, I would kill me those kinds of numbers,
- 51:31Speaker 2: Are you kidding? All I can think of is, oh,
- 51:36Speaker 2: how do I get those kinds of numbers? But Megan
- 51:38Speaker 2: real quick, before you know, Paris Hilton stepped up and
- 51:42Speaker 2: of course her her fans and followers as well a
- 51:45Speaker 2: lot of those snacks that would that was money that
- 51:47Speaker 2: came out of your pocket.
- 51:49Speaker 13: Correct, No, so it was the community. It was people
- 51:52Speaker 13: from all over. So I was doing this from all
- 51:58Speaker 13: over the United States. And now it's reached the attention
- 52:01Speaker 13: of other countries too, So I've had some people donate
- 52:04Speaker 13: from Scotland, from Europe, so it's pretty incredible. And the
- 52:08Speaker 13: sky is the limit. And this mission was just put heavy, heavy,
- 52:12Speaker 13: heavy on my heart by God, and it's my mission,
- 52:15Speaker 13: That's what I call it.
- 52:16Speaker 2: Well, I love the tagline your text message today that
- 52:19Speaker 2: it said full belly's full hearts, which really is true.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Right when children don't motto yeah, Because when children don't
- 52:25Speaker 2: have to worry about being hungry in the classroom, they're
- 52:28Speaker 2: ready to learn.
- 52:30Speaker 13: So I say love first, then academics come. They have
- 52:34Speaker 13: to feel safe, they have to feel half full bellies.
- 52:38Speaker 13: They can't learn on empty tummies.
- 52:40Speaker 3: Yeah that's true, Jackie, what were you going to say?
- 52:42Speaker 7: Yeah, we have Megan's story posted on our website Real
- 52:45Speaker 7: Radio dot FM slash wish and you can go there
- 52:49Speaker 7: get caught up on the story. But there's also a
- 52:51Speaker 7: link to your wish list. Now, this is awesome what
- 52:53Speaker 7: Paris Hilton Didst Bravo to her, and it fills the
- 52:57Speaker 7: pantry one time, but unfortunately this is an ongoing situation
- 53:02Speaker 7: in our communities. And so what do you need moving forward, Megan?
- 53:07Speaker 7: Because I know your wish list is still there.
- 53:10Speaker 13: So in addition to the food, that's going to be
- 53:13Speaker 13: forever until there's not a need, I forever will do this.
- 53:17Speaker 13: But we are also putting gifts under the Christmas tree
- 53:20Speaker 13: for children who will not have anything. And so far
- 53:23Speaker 13: in the last few weeks we've been able to help.
- 53:26Speaker 13: I don't even know. I have to get my book.
- 53:28Speaker 13: It's just been like a way teaching being a mom
- 53:31Speaker 13: and doing this. We have five schools lined up every
- 53:34Speaker 13: day at my home. We work out of my garage,
- 53:37Speaker 13: so we need toys and we need food, so anything
- 53:41Speaker 13: on that list is a need and I try to
- 53:44Speaker 13: put a no under each item what it will be
- 53:48Speaker 13: used for. And I have so many schools on the
- 53:52Speaker 13: maybe list because we're just running out. As soon as
- 53:56Speaker 13: the food comes in, the toys come in, it goes
- 53:57Speaker 13: right back out.
- 53:59Speaker 2: Well, it's amazing from what I read. Not only have
- 54:01Speaker 2: you been able to help the students at your school.
- 54:04Speaker 2: We're talking to teacher Megan de Witch, she teaches at
- 54:07Speaker 2: Triangle Elementary School at Mount Dora, but I read you
- 54:10Speaker 2: were also able to help other schools in Orange County?
- 54:12Speaker 2: Was it Seminal County as well?
- 54:15Speaker 13: Yeah, just any I'm just saying spread the word. I'll
- 54:18Speaker 13: help whoever I can help, and I'm going to my
- 54:21Speaker 13: husband helps me, my children help me. We've been working
- 54:24Speaker 13: until ten twelve o'clock at night. Wow, And I just
- 54:26Speaker 13: keep telling myself, let's just do this until schools out,
- 54:30Speaker 13: help as many children as we can, and then I
- 54:33Speaker 13: will rest and then we'll get back at it after
- 54:35Speaker 13: the new year.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Well, I don't know about that because it also what
- 54:38Speaker 2: I read, is it sure you're going to be starting
- 54:40Speaker 2: a nonprofit organization because of all of this generosity?
- 54:43Speaker 13: Yeah, so that is the goal. Is to turn it
- 54:47Speaker 13: into a nonprofit after the holidays. I'm really excited about this.
- 54:51Speaker 3: Well, I don't know.
- 54:51Speaker 2: I think you're going to have some choices to make megan.
- 54:53Speaker 2: It's either going to be a social media star teacher
- 54:58Speaker 2: nonprofit organized. It seems like you already are wearing an
- 55:02Speaker 2: awful lot of hats.
- 55:03Speaker 13: Well, teachers wear many hats.
- 55:05Speaker 2: Yes they do, Yes, they do, Yes they do. What's
- 55:09Speaker 2: been the reaction of the students that you've been helping
- 55:11Speaker 2: in their families? Do you see relief on their faces
- 55:14Speaker 2: that they probably just they just weren't expecting this.
- 55:18Speaker 13: Yes, I've had students tell me that I love like Jesus.
- 55:22Speaker 3: Oh.
- 55:22Speaker 13: I have had students specifically ask me for certain types
- 55:27Speaker 13: of shoes. I've had students just say why do you
- 55:31Speaker 13: do this, teacher? And why do you do this? Teacher?
- 55:36Speaker 3: Right?
- 55:36Speaker 13: And my response is because I love you and strangers
- 55:38Speaker 13: love you.
- 55:39Speaker 2: Oh, those are the best words that especially a child
- 55:42Speaker 2: who between food and security, watching their parents struggle. You know,
- 55:47Speaker 2: I was, I'm the product of a single mother myself,
- 55:50Speaker 2: and those times that you know, they parents don't think
- 55:54Speaker 2: their children notice the stress, the worry.
- 55:57Speaker 3: The truth of matter is.
- 55:58Speaker 2: They do very much much so notice, and there's an
- 56:01Speaker 2: extra kind of a weird sense of guilt as a
- 56:04Speaker 2: child because you know your parent is working that hard
- 56:06Speaker 2: to take care of you, but you're too young to
- 56:09Speaker 2: do anything to contribute outside of loading the dishwasher and
- 56:12Speaker 2: doing it correctly. But I did want to ask what
- 56:14Speaker 2: has been your children's reaction to this, because, of course,
- 56:18Speaker 2: when when their needs are met right, it's it can
- 56:21Speaker 2: be it can become easy to become selfish and think
- 56:25Speaker 2: about what you want at this time of the year.
- 56:27Speaker 2: What has it been like for them to see others
- 56:29Speaker 2: who don't have much get something and being my own children, yes,
- 56:33Speaker 2: your own children, and how old are so.
- 56:34Speaker 13: My husband and myself grew up that life. We grew
- 56:38Speaker 13: up very.
- 56:39Speaker 3: Very humbly, you know, we grew up that life.
- 56:41Speaker 13: So this is why it's I think especially near and
- 56:43Speaker 13: dear to our hearts, and my children know about our lives,
- 56:47Speaker 13: and they are very compassionate and empathetic. And even as
- 56:54Speaker 13: a couple of years ago I went through a we
- 56:56Speaker 13: went through a hard time as a family. I lost
- 56:59Speaker 13: my small business and I had to go back to
- 57:01Speaker 13: school and I didn't have a job, and it was
- 57:04Speaker 13: really hard for us, and so they know that life
- 57:08Speaker 13: too for a short time a little bit. But I've
- 57:14Speaker 13: always taught them about giving and loving and so to
- 57:18Speaker 13: them it's natural.
- 57:19Speaker 3: And they get so much more, They get so much
- 57:22Speaker 3: more back. How old are your kids?
- 57:24Speaker 13: They just both turned eleven and thirteen?
- 57:27Speaker 2: Wow, oh wow, wow fifth and seventh and congratulations on
- 57:32Speaker 2: having a teenager.
- 57:33Speaker 13: Now, yeah, I think she's eighteen.
- 57:38Speaker 3: I don't know's you know.
- 57:41Speaker 5: You're in for it more than you know.
- 57:43Speaker 3: She definitely thinks she's eighteen.
- 57:45Speaker 2: So again, Jack can where can folks go to see
- 57:48Speaker 2: that entire list? And if you're watching us on our
- 57:50Speaker 2: YouTube channel right now, Jack has some of the items
- 57:52Speaker 2: that are up.
- 57:53Speaker 8: This is the list. So this is how it works.
- 57:54Speaker 8: You go to Real Radio, DOTFM, slash Wish.
- 57:56Speaker 7: It's going to have a little article about the story,
- 57:59Speaker 7: and there is there's a link to Megan's wish list
- 58:02Speaker 7: that goes to Amazon. Now, when you order any of
- 58:05Speaker 7: these items on Amazon, you pay for it, but it
- 58:07Speaker 7: automatically will be delivered to your location, right Megan, Yes, it.
- 58:12Speaker 13: Comes right to our home. We work out of our garage.
- 58:15Speaker 13: Hopefully one day we'll have a warehouse, but for now
- 58:18Speaker 13: it's out of our garage.
- 58:20Speaker 8: So I'm looking at items.
- 58:22Speaker 7: There are toy items that would represent Christmas gifts, but
- 58:25Speaker 7: there's also things like cereal and snacks.
- 58:28Speaker 8: Because that need for food is always there.
- 58:31Speaker 13: Correct, our students are going to be out of school
- 58:33Speaker 13: for fourteen days. That's fourteen breakfasts, lunch, and dinners they
- 58:37Speaker 13: may not have.
- 58:39Speaker 2: And that's something that as we go into the holiday season,
- 58:41Speaker 2: I know just breaks everyone's heart, right that a child
- 58:44Speaker 2: needs to go to school just to make sure that
- 58:46Speaker 2: not only they get an education, but that they get
- 58:48Speaker 2: a meal that they can count on. Well, if there's
- 58:50Speaker 2: one thing I can tell you, Megan, is that we
- 58:52Speaker 2: have the best listeners in all of radio, so I
- 58:55Speaker 2: can promise you that they are going to be coming
- 58:57Speaker 2: through for you with flying colors.
- 58:58Speaker 7: And not only that, the Colbert Show here is going
- 59:02Speaker 7: to send you about one hundred dollars than the food
- 59:05Speaker 7: items on your list.
- 59:06Speaker 3: Yay, that's awesome, That is awesome.
- 59:09Speaker 16: I'm using you are going to make me cry because
- 59:12Speaker 16: this is just I cry all the time because it's
- 59:16Speaker 16: been blessing after blessing after blessing, and it's just we're
- 59:20Speaker 16: changing so many lives.
- 59:23Speaker 13: Some people say, oh my one item helps. Yes, your
- 59:27Speaker 13: one item is feeling a heart or it's feeling their
- 59:31Speaker 13: tummy exactly.
- 59:33Speaker 2: And but I did want to make sure you are
- 59:35Speaker 2: aware of this, Megan, that Jack was Jack, that's not
- 59:37Speaker 2: coming out of your wallet.
- 59:38Speaker 7: No, No, I am going to use my car. I'm
- 59:40Speaker 7: using my company card for this.
- 59:42Speaker 3: There we go, that we listen before we go. Hey,
- 59:47Speaker 3: as long as we get the items right.
- 59:49Speaker 13: No, And also I don't care where it comes from.
- 59:52Speaker 8: I like this fidget toy set.
- 59:54Speaker 7: Oh yeah, there's yes, I gotta I gotta throw some
- 59:57Speaker 7: toys in there because it's the holidays. Yes, the need
- 1:00:00Speaker 7: is food and that is powermount. However, you got to
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: get some toys in their too.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: You know what, I think all three of us should
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: should you know? So Jack, you go ahead and use
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: your company thing and we'll throw in some stuff too,
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: right Tom.
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: So absolutely absolutely.
- 1:00:12Speaker 5: Kids are my favorite kids and old people love them,
- 1:00:14Speaker 5: love them.
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: Level you like the way I pin them to the
- 1:00:16Speaker 3: wall on that That been better than putting someone on
- 1:00:18Speaker 3: the spot on me. And we've got your back. You're old.
- 1:00:22Speaker 13: Tom, been a little pressed up because last minute there's
- 1:00:25Speaker 13: so many schools. We need help, we need help, and
- 1:00:27Speaker 13: I just want to help as many as I can.
- 1:00:29Speaker 13: Even though we've already helped I want to say over
- 1:00:31Speaker 13: sixteen different schools. It's not enough. I need I want
- 1:00:36Speaker 13: to help everybody so well.
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: When you love like Jesus, you get blessed, right, And
- 1:00:40Speaker 2: that's the thing. And I before we go, I really
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: want to thank you because you really are a credit
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: to the to the professional teacher, because once again you go,
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: you show that more often than not, our teachers go
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: above and beyond what they're just expected to do in
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: the classroom when it comes to teaching young minds, but
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: becoming a full human being involves some much more than that.
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: So kudos to you for being such a fantastic example
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: to your own children, but especially to your students, because
- 1:01:07Speaker 2: that's all those little minds and hearts that are going
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: to go out into the world and hopefully follow in
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: your footsteps.
- 1:01:13Speaker 13: Thank you so much.
- 1:01:14Speaker 3: You're welcome. Tom Were you going to say something, Oh no,
- 1:01:16Speaker 3: I just love.
- 1:01:17Speaker 5: You so much.
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: And I didn't even know about this story until I
- 1:01:20Speaker 6: got here today, and it's it's it's made it Christmas
- 1:01:23Speaker 6: for me.
- 1:01:24Speaker 8: It has awesome.
- 1:01:25Speaker 3: Yay, that's our goal. This is a stuff.
- 1:01:28Speaker 7: And yeah, what's really cool is because and I was
- 1:01:31Speaker 7: yesterday just said, Jim asked, are you in the Christmas spirit?
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: And my three grown up daughters there's a I think
- 1:01:38Speaker 7: they'll all be out of town on Christmas. Oh no,
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: but this is something you can do that definitely trigger
- 1:01:43Speaker 7: the Christmas spirit.
- 1:01:44Speaker 2: Absolutely, absolutely so, Megan, please keep us posted, especially in
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: the new year.
- 1:01:49Speaker 3: We would love to have you back.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: We would love to hear what your progress is, and
- 1:01:53Speaker 2: more importantly, we would really like to help you reach
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: those goals and be able to get you your own
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: building and maybe move an operation out of your garage.
- 1:02:01Speaker 13: Thank you. I say, growth with my social media means
- 1:02:05Speaker 13: more children we can help. And I'm just so thankful
- 1:02:08Speaker 13: for this community. There's so much more good in the
- 1:02:11Speaker 13: world than there is bad.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Yes, there is.
- 1:02:13Speaker 7: And Megan, what again, what are your social media handles?
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: What's your TikTok handle?
- 1:02:18Speaker 13: It's called Squirrel around the World, and mostly it's TikTok
- 1:02:23Speaker 13: that I post, but I'm also on Facebook and Instagram,
- 1:02:26Speaker 13: but TikTok is where I always go. First.
- 1:02:29Speaker 8: Squirrel around the World.
- 1:02:31Speaker 3: I love that, all right, Squirrel around the World.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: Megan, thank you again for carving some time out of
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: your day to day and sharing your story. We can't
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: wait to see how much the listeners come through for us.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: God bless Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Merry Christmas,
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: Merry Christmas. Yay Meghan Dowit's Triangle Elementary School. Go to
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: real Radio, dot FM, slash wish to see her list
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: and then just like Jack, add your name to it
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: and buy some items and let's make this happen.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: People come through community for community.
- 1:02:59Speaker 8: And if you can use your company card.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: Absolutely, Hey, how could the company be upset?
- 1:03:04Speaker 17: Right?
- 1:03:04Speaker 3: You're just you're putting more good out into the world.
- 1:03:06Speaker 8: She just gave us twenty minutes of content.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: Yes, we certainly do, and I pray I can get
- 1:03:11Speaker 2: some of those social media numbers.
- 1:03:13Speaker 3: Thank you, Megan. Hopefully we'll talk to you.
- 1:03:15Speaker 13: I'll never forget you.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Oh, we won't forget you either, and thank you for
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: the work that you're doing. All right, Well, you got it.
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Absolutely what a great story to come across. I'm so
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: happy we were able.
- 1:03:24Speaker 3: To talk to her today.
- 1:03:25Speaker 8: You found it, yeah, job.
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: Well, as soon as I saw it, I was like,
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: this is an interview that has to happen.
- 1:03:29Speaker 6: Yeah, and you never know how someone's going to do
- 1:03:31Speaker 6: in an interview. Right, Oh she killed.
- 1:03:33Speaker 3: I know, I know she was nervous, but I like,
- 1:03:36Speaker 3: don't worry.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: This is going to be a fun conversation with friends
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: and it will go buy faster than you think. So again, please,
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: if you have it, doesn't like she said, even one
- 1:03:44Speaker 2: item is an item that's going to help one of
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: these children in need for so many schools.
- 1:03:48Speaker 7: You can get a box of ciro for less than
- 1:03:50Speaker 7: five dollars delivered to her garage.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: You can't even get that at the grocery store.
- 1:03:53Speaker 8: How about that?
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: Yeah, so do that again. Real Radio Dot FM, slash Wish. Okay,
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: we're going to take a little break when we come back.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: Maybe we may just have a solution for those who
- 1:04:01Speaker 2: have an aggressive dog and just don't know what to do. Well,
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: a new study came out with maybe an option. We'll
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: talk about that next. So keep it here on the
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: Jim Culbert Show on Real Radio one O four point one.
- 1:04:22Speaker 18: Hey, anah, it's just a deb on the mic on
- 1:04:25Speaker 18: this Aloha Friday. Anyway, gotta make a very strong recommendation.
- 1:04:30Speaker 18: All right, maybe a little bit of substance or a
- 1:04:33Speaker 18: combination of whatever gets you through it's down on. Watch
- 1:04:37Speaker 18: Shrek the Halls. I had never seen that Christmas special.
- 1:04:41Speaker 18: Absolutely cry laugh through the whole thing. Couldn't even eat food.
- 1:04:45Speaker 18: It was amazing, super funny, Jeb. I know that's up
- 1:04:48Speaker 18: your alley.
- 1:04:49Speaker 6: I love.
- 1:04:49Speaker 18: I have a great weekend.
- 1:04:51Speaker 2: Aloha, Helloha, brother mad thank you Sam. I'm telling you guys,
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Shrek the Halls.
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: Okay, anything to do with Shrek hilarious.
- 1:05:01Speaker 3: There you go. Add it to the holiday list.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: It will make you laugh, seriously, it will make you
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: laugh out loud.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: Belly laugh.
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: In fact, Welcome back to the Jim Colbert SHOWRLE Radio
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: one oh four point one. Jim will be back with
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: us on Monday.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: Just taking the spare day off and gave us about
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: twelve hours notice.
- 1:05:17Speaker 8: Here you go here, I am the Prince exactly. Tom's
- 1:05:21Speaker 8: the Prince. Yeah you Tom Sorel.
- 1:05:23Speaker 3: Yay, Tom Sorels joining us for the day today.
- 1:05:26Speaker 7: I'm having on a beautiful weather day too. He could
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: be out riding, but he's in our studio.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: No, he put the tomsicle away and decided to join
- 1:05:35Speaker 2: the Jim Culbert Show on this beautiful Friday afternoon, which.
- 1:05:38Speaker 6: Is weird because you know, I love Jim like the
- 1:05:40Speaker 6: day is long and I never see him.
- 1:05:43Speaker 3: You're going only come here to fill in when he's gone.
- 1:05:46Speaker 7: You're not the first guest host to notice that exactly.
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: So he is he avoiding me?
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: Now he's avoiding all of us. Like I said, though,
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: he'll be back on Monday. And a big thanks once
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: again to Meghan Dewitz, the second teacher over a Triangle
- 1:06:01Speaker 2: elementary school.
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: That was such a heartwarming.
- 1:06:03Speaker 7: That girl is some kind of wonderful she really. Oh my,
- 1:06:07Speaker 7: So see Jim Culbert Show made their donation. We sent
- 1:06:10Speaker 7: some some toy items, some gift wrap, and then connect
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: for a game. And then the rest is all food,
- 1:06:17Speaker 7: mostly breakfast, cereal and oatmeal, and you know, not fun
- 1:06:22Speaker 7: stuff but necessary stuff.
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: I don't know if it hit you guys as hard
- 1:06:26Speaker 2: as it hit me. But when she was talking about
- 1:06:28Speaker 2: food items, I was thinking, oh, yeah, of course, we
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: always talk about nonperishables. But then when she talked about
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: food items that are easy to cook in your car,
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: in your car, yeah, in your car or in a
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: hotel room, I was that that gut punched me.
- 1:06:43Speaker 6: And you think, well, I could go on about this forever,
- 1:06:45Speaker 6: but it's in Lake County.
- 1:06:47Speaker 5: Yeah, it's right there.
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: It's right there. I mean, it's right here. It's right
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: here in our own community, you know.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: And again, so thanks to her, her husband, her two kids,
- 1:06:55Speaker 2: who are really spearheading this effort, and thanks to each
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: and every one of you who heard that interview.
- 1:07:00Speaker 3: We will be.
- 1:07:01Speaker 2: Posting the podcast of it as well. And then you know,
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: making your own donation, big or small, and again you
- 1:07:06Speaker 2: can see that list at a real radio dot FM
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: slash wish.
- 1:07:11Speaker 8: Yeah, quick note on that.
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: You go to that, it'll say the Jim Colbert Show,
- 1:07:14Speaker 7: but there's another radio station on top of I don't
- 1:07:17Speaker 7: know what that. There's a ghost in the system. Oh no,
- 1:07:20Speaker 7: you're in the right website. If you see the Jim
- 1:07:22Speaker 7: Colbert Show logo, you are there, and it says Paras
- 1:07:25Speaker 7: Hilton turns floor to teachers wish into a holiday miracle.
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: But if you scroll down, it says click here to
- 1:07:30Speaker 7: see the wish list. It goes right to Amazon and
- 1:07:33Speaker 7: allows you to you know, make the purchase and have
- 1:07:36Speaker 7: it delivered right to Megan in Mount Dora.
- 1:07:38Speaker 3: Which mean, couldn't make it any easier than that.
- 1:07:40Speaker 7: Yeah, seriously, our donation that I just click will be
- 1:07:45Speaker 7: delivered tomorrow by eleven am.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: And thank you for doing that, Jack, I really appreciate
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: you doing that.
- 1:07:49Speaker 8: Again, it's not my money, I know, but.
- 1:07:51Speaker 5: Again, Jeff Bezos should match our donation.
- 1:07:53Speaker 3: Jeff Bezos absolutely absolutely.
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: I think he won't, but I'm just saying the challenge
- 1:07:59Speaker 2: is still there.
- 1:08:00Speaker 3: Let me throw down that gauntlet exactly.
- 1:08:02Speaker 7: People ask you what her TikTok name is. Her handle
- 1:08:05Speaker 7: on TikTok is squirrel around the world, like a squirrel
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: you see out in the park, a squirrel.
- 1:08:10Speaker 8: Around the world.
- 1:08:12Speaker 3: I love that handle.
- 1:08:13Speaker 5: So she's creative too.
- 1:08:14Speaker 2: Oh my god, Jack, what would we do to get
- 1:08:18Speaker 2: any video with three million views? Oh well, we won't
- 1:08:20Speaker 2: mention it because it's not going to be very Christmas like, Hey,
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 1:08:24Speaker 6: Hey?
- 1:08:25Speaker 3: How you doing?
- 1:08:26Speaker 8: All right?
- 1:08:27Speaker 11: Real quick?
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: I want to pay off the tea. So we hear
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: a lot about aggressive dogs, right. We know that there
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: are dog breeds that apartment complexes won't allow you to have,
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: certain dogs, that your homeowner's insurance won't ensure your home
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: if you have, and there's always you know, you want
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: every dog to have their fair shot at life, and
- 1:08:47Speaker 2: aggressive behavior can really get in the way with that.
- 1:08:50Speaker 2: So I know we all always joke about, you know,
- 1:08:52Speaker 2: giving your dog a gummy or you don't want to
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: do that because it can be very, very dangerous. But
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: a new study says a marijuana that extract could help
- 1:09:02Speaker 2: soothe aggressive dogs. Really yeah, So, researchers reported in the
- 1:09:06Speaker 2: journal Frontiers and Veterinary Science that dogs given CBD supplements
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: long term has less aggression than other dogs. I'm guessing
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: they're just looking for the doritos.
- 1:09:19Speaker 6: Wait, the CBD is not what would get the dog,
- 1:09:22Speaker 6: huh exactly, that's what would take the swelling out of
- 1:09:24Speaker 6: the dog.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: Or whatever exactly, So they think maybe that's it.
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: So yeah, the researchers now, and this is interesting because
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: researchers say the behavioral change shows the potential of CBD
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: as a therapy for dogs with behavioral issues. So if
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: you have a dog who's highly anxious and is easy
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: to nip because they get nervous, really easy or aggressive behavior,
- 1:09:45Speaker 2: I'm hoping that this is you know, continuing science in
- 1:09:48Speaker 2: that end, because again, you know, really great dogs and
- 1:09:51Speaker 2: sometimes those little quirks can really get in the way
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: of having a good canine relationship. Not everyone can have
- 1:09:57Speaker 2: a Tobi Wan Kenobi.
- 1:10:00Speaker 3: My golden dude is like, wait a minute, there's nothing
- 1:10:02Speaker 3: wrong with it. And I can attest to that because.
- 1:10:05Speaker 5: He's totally not non aggressive.
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: He showed me all of his photos. No, not all
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: of your photos, just a smattering just again his birthday party,
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: you know.
- 1:10:15Speaker 8: Yeah, wow, Jack, Can I show you my dogs?
- 1:10:19Speaker 7: Actually, I just realized we need to post a link
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: on our Instagram and remind people that Thomas here.
- 1:10:25Speaker 3: And listen live.
- 1:10:25Speaker 7: Do you have a pick a picture of you and
- 1:10:27Speaker 7: your dog that you can send me? Oh well, I'll try.
- 1:10:30Speaker 3: In other words, he has several. He'll just have to
- 1:10:32Speaker 3: find the one appropriate one.
- 1:10:37Speaker 7: Either one of you is fully dressed and send that
- 1:10:39Speaker 7: to me. We're fully dressed, I'll put it on our
- 1:10:41Speaker 7: Instagram right.
- 1:10:42Speaker 3: Now, exactly.
- 1:10:44Speaker 2: All right, Well so again so CBD, but not for
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: Toby one, Kenobi.
- 1:10:48Speaker 7: Well no, but so, but don't just go out and
- 1:10:52Speaker 7: buy anything though, who they should consult somebody.
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: At reconsult your veterinarian. You see that.
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: You see the videos on insta TikTok where you know,
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: so one is rushing their dog to the vet because
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: they got into a gummy or you know, and and
- 1:11:04Speaker 2: it can be very very dangerous for dogs. So this
- 1:11:06Speaker 2: isn't something you want to self diagnose or self administer.
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: You're gonna want to work with a professional.
- 1:11:11Speaker 3: And moves like to eat stuff they do, and it's
- 1:11:13Speaker 3: always the stuff they're not supposed to eat.
- 1:11:16Speaker 8: We can't.
- 1:11:16Speaker 7: I don't bring home flowers anymore because you know, because
- 1:11:20Speaker 7: I'm cheap now because the cats, the cats, they destroy them.
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: Yes, they'll eat and then they'll get sick and they'll
- 1:11:27Speaker 2: still eat them. Yes, And you can't put them up
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: high enough because they can get there too.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: Correct exactly. But what we love it the struggle is real.
- 1:11:34Speaker 3: The struggle is real.
- 1:11:35Speaker 2: Man, We understand people, all right, We're going to take
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: a break. When we come back, we're going to revisit
- 1:11:41Speaker 2: the story of the oldest graduate at Valencia College this week.
- 1:11:47Speaker 2: So what we're going to do is we're going to
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: ask a question. So join us after the break and
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: we're going to ask you, you know, what would you
- 1:11:53Speaker 2: do if you could go back in time and change
- 1:11:55Speaker 2: something and finish something, do something, And you're welcome to
- 1:11:58Speaker 2: leave your talkbacks as well on that.
- 1:12:00Speaker 7: Also coming up in the five o'clock hour, Michael Andres
- 1:12:03Speaker 7: Yes in studio as well as we'll have trivia. Well,
- 1:12:08Speaker 7: we'll do our normal Friday trivia. Tom Sols has graciously
- 1:12:13Speaker 7: volunteered to be our game show hosts right today, and
- 1:12:15Speaker 7: we have tickets to Universal on the line.
- 1:12:18Speaker 8: All happening in the five o'clock hour.
- 1:12:19Speaker 3: Now it could have been Pat Sajack.
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: Did I ever tell you that story?
- 1:12:24Speaker 2: We'll do all of that next, So keep it right
- 1:12:26Speaker 2: here on Real Radio one of four point one.
- 1:12:35Speaker 8: Jamie, Michigan, Bob here.
- 1:12:38Speaker 6: I usually want to catch your show on the on
- 1:12:41Speaker 6: the repeats, but today I'm here.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: Oh, you guys, have a good day.
- 1:12:46Speaker 11: But he.
- 1:12:49Speaker 3: Sounded like he was skiing somewhere, going downhill.
- 1:12:52Speaker 8: Michigan, Bob.
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: Jimmy ain't here obviously, Sorry, Michigan Tom is here.
- 1:12:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I guess what we were listening to is
- 1:13:02Speaker 2: probably the Arctic blast that's continuing to hit the mid
- 1:13:06Speaker 2: section of the country this week. That was probably just
- 1:13:08Speaker 2: a whole lot of wind we heard. We're not dealing
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: with that here, our kister meteorologist, Tom Sorel.
- 1:13:13Speaker 3: I can't imagine it's not anymore.
- 1:13:16Speaker 2: It makes my bones hurt. Welcome back to the Jim
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: Colbert Show. Jim, We'll be back with us on Monday.
- 1:13:20Speaker 2: You've got deb you've.
- 1:13:21Speaker 3: Got our executive producer, Jack Bradshaw, Good afternoon, and we
- 1:13:25Speaker 3: also have Tom Sorels joining us today. Tom, absolutely, thank
- 1:13:29Speaker 3: you so much. Once the crowd goes wild, they did,
- 1:13:33Speaker 3: like to.
- 1:13:35Speaker 2: Still a meteorologist even if you're not on local television anyway.
- 1:13:39Speaker 7: Still crazy after all these years after oh still has
- 1:13:42Speaker 7: a YouTube channel.
- 1:13:43Speaker 5: Yes, sure, I'm still active on.
- 1:13:45Speaker 6: People will say what I'm doing it like a Facebook live, like, oh,
- 1:13:48Speaker 6: we miss you so much? Like bro, I'm right here.
- 1:13:51Speaker 6: You're watching me live and you're telling me you missed me.
- 1:13:55Speaker 5: Just watch me.
- 1:13:56Speaker 8: Yeah yeah yeah.
- 1:13:57Speaker 3: Where can they find you? Though?
- 1:13:58Speaker 6: There you go on YouTube of course at talk to Tom Sorels,
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: or on Facebook at talk to Tom Dash Tom Sorels.
- 1:14:06Speaker 8: You can find me Google me man, Yeah, talk to Tom,
- 1:14:08Speaker 8: talk to Tom. Talk to Tom.
- 1:14:10Speaker 3: Is kind of you know.
- 1:14:11Speaker 5: I was thinking, the last time I filled in has
- 1:14:13Speaker 5: been more than.
- 1:14:13Speaker 6: A year, and it was like in September or August,
- 1:14:16Speaker 6: and I was battling Facebook at that time to change
- 1:14:20Speaker 6: my name, remember, because it had my old TV stations.
- 1:14:23Speaker 8: Yeah, Tom Sorrels, Yeah, yeah, I think it was News six.
- 1:14:26Speaker 6: Tom Sorrels and I'm like, if there's anybody out there,
- 1:14:29Speaker 6: look you get my name changed, let me know.
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: And no one, no one ever did it.
- 1:14:32Speaker 6: But I finally got it done last October, and so
- 1:14:36Speaker 6: now I own it.
- 1:14:36Speaker 5: It's mine.
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: Oh good.
- 1:14:39Speaker 7: You always see that when it's when your name is
- 1:14:42Speaker 7: associated with the company you're currently working for, it's going
- 1:14:45Speaker 7: to make a divorce a little more.
- 1:14:48Speaker 6: And they were gracious to me in every aspect of
- 1:14:51Speaker 6: my life, and that's cool, and said, sure, take your followers.
- 1:14:55Speaker 8: I just don't attack this. I never would, you know,
- 1:14:58Speaker 8: it's hard to separate me from.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: That, but bad form if you do that.
- 1:15:03Speaker 8: The people a wheel of fortune. I don't know.
- 1:15:07Speaker 3: That was five year old talk.
- 1:15:10Speaker 6: But getting Facebook's attention or anything is incredibly hard.
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: Yes, well anything any thing on social media area. You know,
- 1:15:19Speaker 7: it's you know the world of bots and now ai
- 1:15:22Speaker 7: and you don't talk to humans exactly like a million
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: years ago.
- 1:15:26Speaker 6: Back probably had to be almost a decade ago or
- 1:15:30Speaker 6: eight years ago. Right before one of the hurricanes, I
- 1:15:33Speaker 6: had a high school reunion and somewhere on my mom's
- 1:15:36Speaker 6: home computer, my tic, my TikTok, my Twitter handle got hijacked.
- 1:15:41Speaker 6: But within three days we had contacted Twitter, got a
- 1:15:44Speaker 6: hold of a person, had them look at it. Boom,
- 1:15:47Speaker 6: changed it right back, got me control of it again. Wow,
- 1:15:50Speaker 6: only to three days now.
- 1:15:52Speaker 5: It's all so big.
- 1:15:53Speaker 3: Exactly, just like Jack was saying, it's all algorithms. It's oh,
- 1:15:57Speaker 3: it's you can't reach it and less people and less
- 1:16:00Speaker 3: people exactly, so real quick before the break, if you
- 1:16:03Speaker 3: didn't have a chance to hear JCS news, one of
- 1:16:05Speaker 3: the stories we had done was that a Valencia College
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: graduate is proving you're never too old to learn something new.
- 1:16:10Speaker 4: Right.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: Eighty two year old.
- 1:16:12Speaker 2: Paul Grisell Reid is this year's oldest graduate, decided to
- 1:16:15Speaker 2: take a Spanish class, then he got his associate's degree,
- 1:16:19Speaker 2: and now he's working on his bachelor's degree in English
- 1:16:22Speaker 2: literature at UCF. So that got me to thinking, is
- 1:16:26Speaker 2: there anything in your life, Jack or yours Tom that
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: maybe there is a project or something that you just
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: maybe finishing education, something that you always regrets the regrets.
- 1:16:38Speaker 7: Yeah, one that wouldn't really change the course of my
- 1:16:41Speaker 7: life to my knowledge, because I can always say I
- 1:16:43Speaker 7: mentioned earlier, I took a decade off before going back
- 1:16:47Speaker 7: to school, right, you know, do I wish I would
- 1:16:50Speaker 7: have gone to school sooner.
- 1:16:51Speaker 8: Yeah, but I wasn't ready for it.
- 1:16:52Speaker 7: So I probably needed to live a little life to
- 1:16:55Speaker 7: kind of, you know, mature up a little bit. But
- 1:16:58Speaker 7: the one thing that I do regret is the amount
- 1:17:02Speaker 7: of times I quit piano lessons or I took trumpet,
- 1:17:08Speaker 7: and I don't know if we had a drum set,
- 1:17:11Speaker 7: I didn't take drum lessons that you're right, you know what.
- 1:17:16Speaker 7: My mom ran a dancing school. Get out of here,
- 1:17:20Speaker 7: she did, and I quit dance and I got away
- 1:17:23Speaker 7: with it because my mom was a single mom from
- 1:17:28Speaker 7: seventy five. I was eight, I was seven, My little
- 1:17:32Speaker 7: sister was five, and then we had, you know, five
- 1:17:34Speaker 7: older kids, but seven kids for seven kids, single mom,
- 1:17:39Speaker 7: full time working, running a dancing school, and I was
- 1:17:43Speaker 7: the only boy, so a lot of you know, it
- 1:17:46Speaker 7: was a lot of first for her. And so when
- 1:17:48Speaker 7: I wanted to quit, she said, okay, you know, and
- 1:17:50Speaker 7: I wish you know, I teasingly used to blame her
- 1:17:55Speaker 7: for allowing me to quit. Since she passed, I'm kind of,
- 1:17:58Speaker 7: you know, rolling back a little bit and absorbing a
- 1:18:01Speaker 7: little of the responsibility for that.
- 1:18:03Speaker 3: But a lot of it jacks come about all of
- 1:18:05Speaker 3: it bro piano lessons several times.
- 1:18:08Speaker 8: I loved it.
- 1:18:09Speaker 3: We I still have the piano I grew up with
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: in my house. It's in my house, which can't play it.
- 1:18:14Speaker 8: I can't play it.
- 1:18:16Speaker 11: You should.
- 1:18:16Speaker 2: I was going to say, have you ever considered digging
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: piano lessons again?
- 1:18:19Speaker 8: That's what I'm going to do over the break.
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: Is it really? I just came up with it.
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: Right now, you can learn on.
- 1:18:25Speaker 3: YouTube because we're going to check with you after the break.
- 1:18:27Speaker 8: I'm just gonna you know, yeah, what.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: About you, Tom? Is there anything that maybe you started
- 1:18:32Speaker 2: and stopped? Now we know you were going to be
- 1:18:35Speaker 2: the pat say Jack.
- 1:18:36Speaker 6: Yeah, a thing when that call to be the game
- 1:18:40Speaker 6: show host? They still have game shows, not really, they're
- 1:18:44Speaker 6: all hosted by big time comedians.
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: But I I wish I knew more foreign language.
- 1:18:49Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you know. I was a trash Spanish
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: class kid.
- 1:18:53Speaker 6: I slacked off. I don't really speak any Spanish. It's
- 1:18:57Speaker 6: so embarrassing.
- 1:18:58Speaker 3: And uh.
- 1:18:59Speaker 6: In the last year I've started taking Japanese lessons. Oh,
- 1:19:03Speaker 6: I wish I'd started that much sooner. It's a very
- 1:19:05Speaker 6: difficult language.
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: I would imagine I'm trying really hard. Well, kudos to
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: you though.
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: Which says how much is this one?
- 1:19:14Speaker 11: Oh?
- 1:19:14Speaker 8: Really?
- 1:19:16Speaker 6: Now?
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: Exactly like colt ten and Japanese, are you using any apps?
- 1:19:21Speaker 5: Or I do use the app?
- 1:19:23Speaker 6: And I have a fine instructor online. It was my
- 1:19:26Speaker 6: Christmas gift last year from my family.
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: That is such a cool life.
- 1:19:28Speaker 6: Saw two months, I think eight of them, and once
- 1:19:31Speaker 6: I got to go in, I just kept going.
- 1:19:32Speaker 5: I pay for it myself.
- 1:19:34Speaker 6: The last two months I stopped because I was out
- 1:19:36Speaker 6: of town forever, which we'll talk about later.
- 1:19:38Speaker 7: I think, yeah, but I can totally relate to the
- 1:19:43Speaker 7: you got through Spanish. I got through Spanish in middle school,
- 1:19:46Speaker 7: high school, college, and then I even did a Berlitz
- 1:19:48Speaker 7: course here where it's like in the moment, I know it,
- 1:19:51Speaker 7: but then okay, then you move on and I don't
- 1:19:54Speaker 7: inject myself into the culture. I don't use it, and
- 1:19:57Speaker 7: then you just forget it and you pick up a
- 1:19:59Speaker 7: phrase here in there, and I am jealous when I see,
- 1:20:03Speaker 7: you know, other people be able to switch from English
- 1:20:05Speaker 7: to Spanish and talk to it.
- 1:20:07Speaker 8: It's incredible.
- 1:20:07Speaker 7: Yeah, we have a cleaning crew here and wonderful, lovely.
- 1:20:11Speaker 3: People and Joanna.
- 1:20:12Speaker 7: Yeah, but it's you know, my level of communication with
- 1:20:15Speaker 7: them is a lot more, uh is a loted is
- 1:20:19Speaker 7: a lot. It's more difficult than in I see other
- 1:20:21Speaker 7: people's being able. You for one, Dad, Well, you know
- 1:20:25Speaker 7: it's interesting.
- 1:20:25Speaker 5: So can you speak Spanish?
- 1:20:27Speaker 3: Well, my mother's from Colombia. Okay, Columbia, so Medico. I
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: think Jerry's when I say Colombia, Colombia, Colombia. There is
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: no U in Colombia. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:20:36Speaker 2: So in high school I used to actually compete in
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: like Spanish poetry competition.
- 1:20:41Speaker 5: Wow.
- 1:20:42Speaker 2: It got so bad that when my mom and my
- 1:20:44Speaker 2: grandmother weren't able to gossip about the family because I
- 1:20:47Speaker 2: would be, you know, not too far away, going no
- 1:20:51Speaker 2: what happened?
- 1:20:52Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: So then because my mom was born on an island
- 1:20:54Speaker 2: in the Caribbean, they would switch to patois Ah because
- 1:20:58Speaker 2: you have to be born into that language.
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: But I speak it. I wish I spoke it better.
- 1:21:04Speaker 2: I also learned Portuguese because my ex husband was born
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: in Brazil. He's half English half Brazilian.
- 1:21:10Speaker 3: So I can speak Portuguese, but I don't speak My
- 1:21:13Speaker 3: Portuguese isn't as good as my Spanish, and my Spanish
- 1:21:15Speaker 3: is not very good. I think out of the three
- 1:21:18Speaker 3: people in the room, You're the winner. But for me,
- 1:21:22Speaker 3: it would be finishing my college degree.
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: Oh you didn't finish.
- 1:21:26Speaker 3: I did not. I went for the first two years
- 1:21:29Speaker 3: and then had a heartbreaking experience at the end of
- 1:21:31Speaker 3: my second year.
- 1:21:32Speaker 2: I was a graphic design student and decided that's it.
- 1:21:35Speaker 2: This obviously isn't where I meant to be. And our
- 1:21:37Speaker 2: family had just taken a recent trip to Florida for
- 1:21:41Speaker 2: the first time and fell in love. We knew we
- 1:21:43Speaker 2: were going to be moving here eventually, so I decided
- 1:21:46Speaker 2: to leave school and potentially finish my degree here in
- 1:21:49Speaker 2: central Florida, not knowing how expensive Rollins College is.
- 1:21:53Speaker 5: Oh yeah, there's cheaper options.
- 1:21:56Speaker 3: Yeah there are, there are online. But you know, the
- 1:22:00Speaker 3: the thing is is that now I would I would
- 1:22:02Speaker 3: get my degree just to say I finished it, like
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: the eighty two year old gentleman, just like the eighties
- 1:22:08Speaker 3: year old gentleman like.
- 1:22:09Speaker 7: I was when I was talking to that paper and
- 1:22:11Speaker 7: he said, Hey, you're going to be thirty five one day,
- 1:22:13Speaker 7: and you too, deb will be thirty five one day.
- 1:22:16Speaker 8: I love you, Jack, Whether you have a degree or not,
- 1:22:18Speaker 8: he's going.
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: To be up to you.
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: And the beautiful thing is that now, Because I've already
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: got three decades into this career, I wouldn't necessarily follow
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: a degree that would maybe support this.
- 1:22:28Speaker 6: Right, you don't need a communication, no non art degree.
- 1:22:32Speaker 3: I like her something I love.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: My mom always said, if I could be anything in
- 1:22:35Speaker 2: this life, she said, Deborah would be a professional student,
- 1:22:38Speaker 2: because I just love I love to learn.
- 1:22:40Speaker 3: So is that your goal for twenty twenty six you're
- 1:22:42Speaker 3: going back?
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: No, because my goal for twenty twenty six is figuring
- 1:22:46Speaker 2: out how to afford a wedding. Yeah, I'm gonna be
- 1:22:51Speaker 2: getting married in April.
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: So why did I say Elope?
- 1:22:54Speaker 8: Yea, bravo?
- 1:22:56Speaker 3: Might I say you don't want me to do that
- 1:22:58Speaker 3: because then you won't be at the wedding.
- 1:23:00Speaker 7: You're right, I would not miss this for the world.
- 1:23:02Speaker 7: But also I want you to you know, just whether
- 1:23:05Speaker 7: it's college or whether it's a big event, if you
- 1:23:08Speaker 7: can come out of it without regret and without debt, bravo.
- 1:23:12Speaker 3: Absolutely. And you know what happens when.
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: There's a wedding.
- 1:23:15Speaker 6: And I say this to kids who are getting married
- 1:23:17Speaker 6: all the time, including my own child. They're talking about details,
- 1:23:21Speaker 6: who does this, who does that? And I said, listen,
- 1:23:22Speaker 6: here's the truth. When this is over, you're married. Oh yeah,
- 1:23:26Speaker 6: it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if there's a band.
- 1:23:28Speaker 3: I can't wait or because.
- 1:23:29Speaker 6: When you're over, when this is over, you're married. Yes,
- 1:23:32Speaker 6: whether you're elpe or you have a big bash, you're married.
- 1:23:35Speaker 3: And that's why it's important.
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: I have an appointment with my florist on Monday and
- 1:23:40Speaker 2: asking for the vibe. It's like, I just want it
- 1:23:42Speaker 2: to be welcoming and relaxed. I want it to be
- 1:23:45Speaker 2: a fun day of celebrating with our family and friends.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: We're really kind of doing the micro wedding trend. We
- 1:23:50Speaker 2: have I think fifty four wedding guests on the list
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: right now, so that means everyone in the room are
- 1:23:55Speaker 2: going to be people that we know, that we can
- 1:23:57Speaker 2: converse with.
- 1:23:58Speaker 3: That you don't want to meet anyone new, exactly exactly.
- 1:24:01Speaker 3: If that can be avoided, that.
- 1:24:05Speaker 17: Is great.
- 1:24:06Speaker 2: Not only that, I don't want to feed your right,
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: I don't want to feed you in pay for your drink,
- 1:24:10Speaker 2: especially if you don't come to the ceremony.
- 1:24:12Speaker 3: Do not plan on being at the reception, correct, because
- 1:24:14Speaker 3: that's just the rules. Well, listen, speaking of something big, Yes,
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: thanks to one mister Jack Bradshaw. We have a.
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: Very cool interview coming up next. Jack, tell the people
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: who it is again.
- 1:24:27Speaker 8: Michael Andrew.
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: Yes, And if you don't have this Christmas album, you
- 1:24:31Speaker 3: need to get it. But we're gonna do that next,
- 1:24:32Speaker 3: so keep it here.
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: On The Jim Colbert Show on Real Radio one of
- 1:24:35Speaker 2: four point one. Welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: on Real Radio one oh four point one.
- 1:24:47Speaker 3: No worries, No worries, Jim. We'll be back with us
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: on Monday. In his stead.
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: You've got deb Jack and our special guest co host
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: today one, Tom Sorels.
- 1:24:55Speaker 5: Hey, I'm so glad to be here.
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: Jim should take off more oft.
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: We agree, Hey, what a great idea and listen. I
- 1:25:03Speaker 2: don't know if you had a chance, but the Jim
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: Colbert Show. We're special guest co host last night on
- 1:25:07Speaker 2: Orlando's Christmas station Magic one oh seven seven, where we
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: got to play some of our favorite Christmas songs and Jack,
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: you reminded everyone of one of the best Christmas albums
- 1:25:18Speaker 2: that's out there.
- 1:25:19Speaker 7: I say it every year and I have since the
- 1:25:21Speaker 7: first year I got it.
- 1:25:22Speaker 8: It's a Swingerhead Christmas.
- 1:25:24Speaker 7: Michael Andrew presents a swingerhead Christmas and I played a
- 1:25:29Speaker 7: song I love and we used to play in the
- 1:25:30Speaker 7: Philip Foul every year called Missotoe Mambo. And I mean
- 1:25:36Speaker 7: I played it. We played it last night on Magic.
- 1:25:38Speaker 7: But here's a little sample of it for you as well.
- 1:25:48Speaker 7: Feels so Christmas.
- 1:25:49Speaker 3: He already it does Mambo mambo.
- 1:25:59Speaker 8: It's just got such a fun feel to it.
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: Fun funky vibe and for all those people into that
- 1:26:04Speaker 2: kind of like mid century vibe, right, it's just here
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: he comes.
- 1:26:07Speaker 10: Come along with me next to the Christmas tree.
- 1:26:14Speaker 7: This is the guy I wanted to be when I
- 1:26:16Speaker 7: would hear him singing, because I grew up a Sinatra fan,
- 1:26:19Speaker 7: I was like, oh, it's the coolest kind of singing
- 1:26:22Speaker 7: for me.
- 1:26:23Speaker 3: It would not a doubt.
- 1:26:24Speaker 7: And I have a feeling he kind of grew up
- 1:26:26Speaker 7: the same day looking at Frank Sinatra.
- 1:26:27Speaker 8: But we are lucky enough to have Michael Andrew in studio.
- 1:26:30Speaker 10: I am so I'm so flattered, Jack, I'm really flattered
- 1:26:35Speaker 10: that you that you have been talking about me on
- 1:26:38Speaker 10: the radio. My gosh, what an honor. Yeah, and this
- 1:26:41Speaker 10: is really sweet of you to play that.
- 1:26:44Speaker 7: And from when I started on the Phillips follow. I
- 1:26:46Speaker 7: know Jim Phillips already with familiar with you and would
- 1:26:49Speaker 7: sing your praises.
- 1:26:51Speaker 10: You introduced the band. I got that one of our
- 1:26:53Speaker 10: debut performances.
- 1:26:55Speaker 7: In three at the Mental Plaza, wearing Jim Phillips tuxedo.
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: Wow, because you.
- 1:27:02Speaker 8: Know it fit and I didn't have one.
- 1:27:05Speaker 3: I'm not going to buy one.
- 1:27:06Speaker 7: But not only introducing that night, that's also nine months later,
- 1:27:11Speaker 7: my wife and I welcomed our youngest daughter into the world,
- 1:27:15Speaker 7: who's now twenty one.
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: And look what you did that night I was wearing
- 1:27:21Speaker 3: It was the toughs in the music, and you helped
- 1:27:23Speaker 3: create a mirror. I don't know that yet, that is.
- 1:27:28Speaker 7: But what I remember about singing, seeing Michael Andrew and
- 1:27:33Speaker 7: Swinger at that night at the Metro Posita is I've
- 1:27:36Speaker 7: listened to big band all my life because my stepdad
- 1:27:39Speaker 7: would play you know, cledon Miller.
- 1:27:41Speaker 3: Oh yeah, great, all the time.
- 1:27:43Speaker 7: But when you are in the room in front of
- 1:27:46Speaker 7: a horn section and a big band like that, the
- 1:27:49Speaker 7: energy you cannot escape the energy.
- 1:27:52Speaker 3: It's just it's so palatable.
- 1:27:55Speaker 10: It really can't be captured electronically, can't you know? It's you.
- 1:28:00Speaker 10: We got to be there live to experience a large
- 1:28:02Speaker 10: ensemble like a symphonic orchestra.
- 1:28:05Speaker 4: Or a big band.
- 1:28:05Speaker 10: Especially a big band is so dynamic, you know, with
- 1:28:08Speaker 10: the horns blaring. Yet you you got five saxes for
- 1:28:11Speaker 10: trombones for trumpets.
- 1:28:14Speaker 2: Sound absolutely and I hope they don't ever find a
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: way to electronically.
- 1:28:19Speaker 3: They make that.
- 1:28:20Speaker 10: Yeah, they can't. Well, I guess you could set like
- 1:28:23Speaker 10: one speaker for each of the horns and have that
- 1:28:26Speaker 10: outputting For me, that would be ridiculous. Now it's still
- 1:28:29Speaker 10: not going to be better. It's still not going to
- 1:28:31Speaker 10: be as good exactly having the real players there.
- 1:28:34Speaker 8: So we talk about the Christmas album. I would like
- 1:28:38Speaker 8: to you.
- 1:28:38Speaker 7: I remember we talked way back on the Phillips style.
- 1:28:42Speaker 7: We talked to you about the Christmas album. But when
- 1:28:45Speaker 7: you plan a Christmas album, it's you have to do it,
- 1:28:47Speaker 7: probably if you're in Florida when it's like ninety degrees out.
- 1:28:52Speaker 7: How did this come about?
- 1:28:54Speaker 11: Oh?
- 1:28:55Speaker 10: Well, I mean it was nineteen ninety seven or ninety eight,
- 1:29:00Speaker 10: and it was in the height of we were having
- 1:29:03Speaker 10: a resurgence of swing music at that time. So the average, yeah,
- 1:29:08Speaker 10: average age of my audience was twenty two you know,
- 1:29:13Speaker 10: really young people, a lot of energy. I was having
- 1:29:16Speaker 10: a blast, and we thought we already had one album
- 1:29:19Speaker 10: out and that was doing well, and I thought, we
- 1:29:22Speaker 10: got to follow this up. What can we do? I know,
- 1:29:25Speaker 10: we'll do a Christmas album with a lot of my
- 1:29:27Speaker 10: favorite Christmas songs and I'll write a few. And I
- 1:29:30Speaker 10: didn't have I only had one original tune that I
- 1:29:32Speaker 10: co wrote with a guy, Ted Kushin. We wrote a
- 1:29:35Speaker 10: song called Christmas Day my Favorite Day. And then I
- 1:29:39Speaker 10: created this original version of Twas the Night Before Christmas
- 1:29:43Speaker 10: that we did all the time on the live shows.
- 1:29:46Speaker 10: But I needed something else. And that's when, you know,
- 1:29:49Speaker 10: we were on tour. We're driving around and I said,
- 1:29:52Speaker 10: I gotta have something. I want to do something in
- 1:29:54Speaker 10: a Latin esque, you know, kind of a mambo thing.
- 1:29:57Speaker 10: And as a joke, I started singing, you know, missiletoe
- 1:30:02Speaker 10: mambo and thinking about what these these real typical chord
- 1:30:06Speaker 10: changes could be for the course of it, you know,
- 1:30:09Speaker 10: And it was really a gag. And the guys in
- 1:30:11Speaker 10: the band said, actually, that's that's pretty good. You should
- 1:30:13Speaker 10: do that.
- 1:30:14Speaker 6: Do that.
- 1:30:15Speaker 10: And so when I got home, I wrote it in
- 1:30:17Speaker 10: about ten minutes. Oh wow, and and uh, you know,
- 1:30:20Speaker 10: sometimes things come to you very fast. And then I
- 1:30:23Speaker 10: stayed with it, and you know, people seem to like it.
- 1:30:27Speaker 2: It's well, you help Jack and Naomi, you know, I
- 1:30:31Speaker 2: start the family.
- 1:30:32Speaker 7: But you know, we all appreciate and this album what
- 1:30:36Speaker 7: you brought in. It's a Swingerhead Christmas. Michael Andrew presents
- 1:30:40Speaker 7: a Swingerhead Christmas. Is this available on your website?
- 1:30:43Speaker 10: You can go to Michael Andrew dot com and find
- 1:30:45Speaker 10: it and there's some of the tracks are you can
- 1:30:47Speaker 10: stream them if you look it up on the streaming
- 1:30:51Speaker 10: Was it Apple?
- 1:30:52Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:30:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Spotify, Spotify, that's it.
- 1:30:54Speaker 7: Angel on The Monsters today was mentioning that that some
- 1:30:57Speaker 7: are available, like the EPs.
- 1:30:59Speaker 10: So Mambo definitely is twas the Night Before Christmas?
- 1:31:02Speaker 8: Oh, it's so good.
- 1:31:03Speaker 7: And I know because I've heard Angel also talk about,
- 1:31:07Speaker 7: you know, being one of his favorite Christmas CDs as well,
- 1:31:10Speaker 7: and it's just every year when you hear it's only
- 1:31:13Speaker 7: different on the originals.
- 1:31:16Speaker 10: I gotta say, thanks to this station, you know, Jim
- 1:31:20Speaker 10: and the Monsters. When we released it in ninety eight
- 1:31:25Speaker 10: or ninety nine, I can't remember, it was the number
- 1:31:27Speaker 10: one Christmas CD in Central Florida, and I think it
- 1:31:30Speaker 10: was for the next several years ninety nine, two thousand,
- 1:31:35Speaker 10: two thousand and one, and we'd always come on the radio,
- 1:31:38Speaker 10: the whole band. We'd sometimes perform right, you know, in
- 1:31:42Speaker 10: the studio. So I'm very indebted to this station for
- 1:31:46Speaker 10: making it, you know, a very popular CD over the years.
- 1:31:50Speaker 7: And the our real radio Christmas Carol that we did.
- 1:31:53Speaker 7: And we started doing it. It was a late nineties.
- 1:31:56Speaker 7: That was it at Rollins College the first time we
- 1:32:00Speaker 7: did it. And I remember you you opened that show
- 1:32:04Speaker 7: for us as well, right and then wasn't it was
- 1:32:07Speaker 7: it the hard rock or then it went to the
- 1:32:08Speaker 7: hard rock and I think, yeah, it ended up in
- 1:32:11Speaker 7: your hard rockow. Yeah, it was so much fun. But uh,
- 1:32:14Speaker 7: you know, and we still play that on Christmas Eve. Well,
- 1:32:18Speaker 7: we play you know, bits of that over the past
- 1:32:23Speaker 7: couple of years that we put it together. It'll play
- 1:32:26Speaker 7: on repeat on Christmas Eve from eight o'clock until midnight
- 1:32:29Speaker 7: or Christmas Carol and the vignette.
- 1:32:31Speaker 8: But I usually I'll always slip and mistletoe Mambo and.
- 1:32:34Speaker 3: There of course you have to well he also has
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: a little drummer boy on the singerhead Christmas so so
- 1:32:40Speaker 3: definitely want to check that out. And then, of course
- 1:32:41Speaker 3: last year.
- 1:32:42Speaker 2: Jack, you got the opportunity to introduce Michael Andrew at
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: the New Year's Eve celebration of Mount Dora.
- 1:32:47Speaker 7: That's right, and that's probably the last time I saw
- 1:32:50Speaker 7: you and but New Year's Eve and Jim Culbertow is
- 1:32:54Speaker 7: going to be up there at Mount Door again this New.
- 1:32:55Speaker 3: Year's Yes, we are.
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: We hope you're going to join us. So, speaking of that,
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: are you ready for the holidays?
- 1:32:59Speaker 3: Michael?
- 1:33:00Speaker 7: I am.
- 1:33:01Speaker 10: I haven't been doing as many Christmas performances this year
- 1:33:05Speaker 10: because I got really tied up with studio work and
- 1:33:09Speaker 10: I have a lot of original music right now, original
- 1:33:14Speaker 10: orchestrations playing around town. They're doing a Charlie Brown Christmas
- 1:33:20Speaker 10: at Orlando Family Stage. I produced all the music for it,
- 1:33:23Speaker 10: so if you see it and you hear the music,
- 1:33:26Speaker 10: I produced that, and it's really fun. You know, it's
- 1:33:30Speaker 10: the Charlie Brown Christmas that you all remember and love,
- 1:33:34Speaker 10: and it's being done live, so that's a great show.
- 1:33:37Speaker 10: And then I produced all of the music for the
- 1:33:41Speaker 10: Christmas Carol or Christmas Carol at the Orlando Shakes, which
- 1:33:45Speaker 10: has been the same. Well, a little bit of a
- 1:33:49Speaker 10: revised version of what they've been doing for the past
- 1:33:52Speaker 10: couple of years. Every year it gets a little bit
- 1:33:54Speaker 10: updated and more fun and more fun. Yeah, so that's
- 1:34:01Speaker 10: another show that I created all the tracks for it,
- 1:34:05Speaker 10: and there's a live cellis playing my arrangement. So that's
- 1:34:09Speaker 10: a thrill.
- 1:34:10Speaker 8: That's gotta be pretty cool.
- 1:34:11Speaker 12: Now.
- 1:34:11Speaker 7: I do remember it was more recently than a year.
- 1:34:13Speaker 7: I did see you this past year at what I
- 1:34:16Speaker 7: think is a room. When they built this room, they
- 1:34:19Speaker 7: had to have Michael Andrew in mind, because it just
- 1:34:22Speaker 7: seeing you in this room is just like it's like, yes,
- 1:34:25Speaker 7: this was meant to be.
- 1:34:26Speaker 8: And that's Judson's live.
- 1:34:28Speaker 10: I love it there. And that's right. You were in
- 1:34:30Speaker 10: the front row, right yeah. I mean, bro, wait, if
- 1:34:33Speaker 10: I moved my foot, it knocks their food over. That's
- 1:34:36Speaker 10: how close he was.
- 1:34:38Speaker 7: I'm not lying three feet away. We're sitting three feet
- 1:34:41Speaker 7: in front of him. And guess what that was Glenn
- 1:34:43Speaker 7: Clasman's seat. Really Glenn Clasman couldn't go right, He took
- 1:34:47Speaker 7: out and he's like, hey, Jack, would you like to go?
- 1:34:49Speaker 7: I go, absolutely, you know, see Michael Andrew. So Naomi
- 1:34:52Speaker 7: and I went and we saw him. But I mean
- 1:34:54Speaker 7: we were like on the stage so.
- 1:34:57Speaker 3: Much, so did did you feel like you needed a
- 1:34:59Speaker 3: restraining or.
- 1:35:01Speaker 6: You know?
- 1:35:02Speaker 7: Everything was there was good, you know, and you always
- 1:35:04Speaker 7: have to capture stuff for social But I'm sure Michael
- 1:35:07Speaker 7: might have been concerned with the angle.
- 1:35:08Speaker 8: Because I am like.
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: Backup jack.
- 1:35:15Speaker 8: So do you have any it's judging Live.
- 1:35:20Speaker 10: In March, yes, and people can go on to doctor
- 1:35:27Speaker 10: dot org and look for Judgin's. But I mean, there's
- 1:35:30Speaker 10: so many great acts that are performing there at Justin's Lives,
- 1:35:33Speaker 10: And it's true, it's my favorite venue now. I just
- 1:35:36Speaker 10: love it the intimacy of it, and it's really modeled
- 1:35:39Speaker 10: after a New York jazz club, so you feel like
- 1:35:42Speaker 10: you're in New York City at a great jazz club.
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: Well, you did mention that you've been doing a lot
- 1:35:47Speaker 3: of studio work.
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: Does that mean that there's another album on the horizon,
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: another Michael Andrew project we can look forward to.
- 1:35:54Speaker 10: I wish I could say that that there was, but
- 1:35:57Speaker 10: actually I've been doing work for other people and I
- 1:36:01Speaker 10: don't have time for my own projects. I have a
- 1:36:03Speaker 10: lot of clients and so I just I've been keeping
- 1:36:08Speaker 10: really busy with you.
- 1:36:08Speaker 3: What do I need to Call.
- 1:36:11Speaker 8: You did the soundtrack what was the name of the
- 1:36:14Speaker 8: Lucy movie being.
- 1:36:15Speaker 10: The Ricardo's Yeah, yeah, that was a few years ago.
- 1:36:18Speaker 8: Yeah, toward the end of the you weren't charge all
- 1:36:20Speaker 8: the music on that ware, you know, not the score.
- 1:36:23Speaker 10: But anything that Desi Arnez played and anything that wasn't
- 1:36:27Speaker 10: part of the score. Actually, there's probably more of my
- 1:36:31Speaker 10: music than there is score because it's so much going
- 1:36:33Speaker 10: on with Desi Arnez and the different Latin ensembles and
- 1:36:37Speaker 10: big band ensembles that were playing throughout the throughout the movie.
- 1:36:41Speaker 10: It's so funny see a band in the in the
- 1:36:43Speaker 10: movie that that's the music I produce.
- 1:36:45Speaker 3: Every time I hear Missile to Mambo Desi Arnez, just
- 1:36:48Speaker 3: that that whole genre, that whole era, that's exactly what
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: I picture in my mind's eye.
- 1:36:53Speaker 10: Well, when when we did Missile to Mambo, I often
- 1:36:57Speaker 10: would play this character named Rico s and he sort
- 1:37:01Speaker 10: of he idolizes Desionnez. He wants to be like Desiz,
- 1:37:06Speaker 10: but it's not quite as suave and debonair, you know,
- 1:37:10Speaker 10: he's but he tries and he tries to do tricks
- 1:37:14Speaker 10: and they're all awful, and he sings missiletoe Mambo and
- 1:37:17Speaker 10: all sorts of things. I have it on online right
- 1:37:20Speaker 10: now on my Facebook page. It's pretty funny some footage
- 1:37:23Speaker 10: from the show of Rico singing missiletoe Mambo. But when
- 1:37:29Speaker 10: I got the call, the music supervisor said, do you
- 1:37:33Speaker 10: could you do something in the style of desiarnez uh
- 1:37:38Speaker 10: you know bab Aloo? I said, are you kidding me?
- 1:37:41Speaker 10: It was just crazy that they asked me, because that
- 1:37:44Speaker 10: was the whole basis for that act. I had arrangement.
- 1:37:48Speaker 10: I've done arrangements of I Love the I Love Lucy
- 1:37:52Speaker 10: theme and almost everything. I mean, we redid them and
- 1:37:55Speaker 10: refined them for the movie because I wanted to do
- 1:37:58Speaker 10: them with the exact same instrumentation that DESI had. But
- 1:38:03Speaker 10: you know, I love that stuff. It's among my favorite
- 1:38:06Speaker 10: you know that stuff from the fifties and the sixties.
- 1:38:09Speaker 3: Yeah, it's hot. It's hot with the millennial crowd.
- 1:38:12Speaker 2: Now, Ross, who's part of the show, his wife Olivia,
- 1:38:15Speaker 2: is all about this kind of like mid century vibe.
- 1:38:18Speaker 2: So I think the you know, younger generations are going
- 1:38:21Speaker 2: to be kind of recapturing again what they did with
- 1:38:24Speaker 2: the swing music back in the late nineties.
- 1:38:26Speaker 7: We have Michael Andrew in studio today. By the way,
- 1:38:30Speaker 7: produced one of the best Christmas albums ever. It's called
- 1:38:33Speaker 7: It's a Swingerhead Christmas. A Swingerhead Christmas available at Michael
- 1:38:36Speaker 7: andrew dot com. Michael Sinatra, obviously you're a fan. I
- 1:38:41Speaker 7: grew up a fan, and I had really two influences.
- 1:38:44Speaker 7: One it was my stepdad had albums, and you know,
- 1:38:48Speaker 7: I'd see the Sinatra stuff and that would play. I
- 1:38:50Speaker 7: remember they used to have Saturdays with Sinatra on the radio.
- 1:38:54Speaker 7: I worked at a at a pizzeria in New Jersey
- 1:38:58Speaker 7: and you can do any w Yeah, you could bet
- 1:39:01Speaker 7: that Saturdays with Sinatra was playing on the radio at
- 1:39:04Speaker 7: the pizzeria. And you know, it's funny because I was like,
- 1:39:08Speaker 7: at first, you know, it's like, okay, it's on again,
- 1:39:11Speaker 7: and then it just you know, I caught. The appeal
- 1:39:14Speaker 7: caught me and I you know, ever since, I just
- 1:39:17Speaker 7: he's been one of the top dogs. How did you
- 1:39:20Speaker 7: get exposed to the type of music that you went
- 1:39:23Speaker 7: on to, you know, make a career.
- 1:39:25Speaker 10: Out of well, I, you know, just like a lot
- 1:39:29Speaker 10: of people my age, our age, my parents were listening
- 1:39:34Speaker 10: to it and they had all those albums you know,
- 1:39:38Speaker 10: and when my dad would be in the car, he'd
- 1:39:41Speaker 10: put an a track in and that would be playing.
- 1:39:43Speaker 3: And I just really loved it.
- 1:39:44Speaker 10: And I never really embraced the music of my generation
- 1:39:49Speaker 10: as much so, and I wasn't embarrassed about it. I
- 1:39:53Speaker 10: really preferred to listen to that music all my young life,
- 1:39:58Speaker 10: you know, when I was in grade school, in junior
- 1:40:00Speaker 10: high school.
- 1:40:01Speaker 3: I'll see, you're an old soul.
- 1:40:03Speaker 10: I guess when it comes to the music I am.
- 1:40:06Speaker 10: I always loved it and kind of fantasize about performing it,
- 1:40:11Speaker 10: you know, would do these little skits as a kid
- 1:40:13Speaker 10: where I'm lip syncing to these types of things. I
- 1:40:16Speaker 10: especially loved the Four Freshmen and any of that stuff,
- 1:40:20Speaker 10: especially from a little later in the big band years,
- 1:40:23Speaker 10: not quite the early forties or even the mid forties,
- 1:40:26Speaker 10: more like the fifties and sixties. I loved that era,
- 1:40:29Speaker 10: and so I was always emulating it. And then when
- 1:40:32Speaker 10: it came time to, you know, be an adult, what
- 1:40:36Speaker 10: am I going.
- 1:40:36Speaker 3: To do when I grow up?
- 1:40:38Speaker 10: When I grow up, I had this opportunity. I said,
- 1:40:42Speaker 10: I got to know this piano player, and I said,
- 1:40:44Speaker 10: you know, I've always wanted to sing on a stage
- 1:40:46Speaker 10: and do these songs, and you know, we did it.
- 1:40:50Speaker 10: And at first, I think people thought it was a
- 1:40:52Speaker 10: novelty act because I looked so young. I've always looked
- 1:40:56Speaker 10: younger than I am, and so they they said, look
- 1:41:00Speaker 10: at this kid, and he's doing these sophisticated, you know,
- 1:41:03Speaker 10: Frank sinoptrotypes songs. And this would have been the you know,
- 1:41:07Speaker 10: the eighties, and there was no kind of resurgence at
- 1:41:11Speaker 10: all at that time, so it was very unusual, kind
- 1:41:15Speaker 10: of I don't know, maybe freakish. I didn't care. I
- 1:41:19Speaker 10: just loved it. That's what I wanted to do, so
- 1:41:22Speaker 10: I stayed with it, and it just eventually caught on
- 1:41:28Speaker 10: more and more. In fact, one of my first gigs
- 1:41:31Speaker 10: was working on the Carnival cruise lines, and I remember
- 1:41:34Speaker 10: the guy that booked me said, I like the music
- 1:41:36Speaker 10: you do because nobody hates it. Almost every other genre
- 1:41:43Speaker 10: that we could do, somebody's gonna say, oh I hate that,
- 1:41:47Speaker 10: but this one you could get kids. They don't hate it.
- 1:41:50Speaker 10: They might not love it, but everybody's sort of okay, yeah,
- 1:41:54Speaker 10: that's fine.
- 1:41:55Speaker 8: Hey, you're safe, you're high safe.
- 1:41:56Speaker 10: Exact That's how I got the first gig.
- 1:41:59Speaker 2: I would go so to say, you're probably the one
- 1:42:01Speaker 2: that kicked off the resurgence of swing in the late nineties,
- 1:42:04Speaker 2: because up until then, you know, probably not a lot
- 1:42:06Speaker 2: of exposure to that.
- 1:42:07Speaker 3: Take care, I will, I will, Okay, I will.
- 1:42:11Speaker 10: It was an interesting thing because you had all these
- 1:42:13Speaker 10: ska bands and punk bands I were doing it. I
- 1:42:16Speaker 10: was watching and I said, what they're doing stuff I've
- 1:42:20Speaker 10: been doing all my life. You know what's going on.
- 1:42:23Speaker 10: And so at the time I knew this girl, Stace
- 1:42:26Speaker 10: based remember State, and she was just like a great promoter.
- 1:42:31Speaker 10: And I said, I don't understand.
- 1:42:33Speaker 3: You got to help me. Why am I not doing
- 1:42:35Speaker 3: this on a national level?
- 1:42:38Speaker 11: This is all I do?
- 1:42:39Speaker 10: And at that point I had played the Rainbow Room
- 1:42:42Speaker 10: in New York City, Oh wow, and I had, you know,
- 1:42:44Speaker 10: done this style. All of a sudden, it's in the
- 1:42:47Speaker 10: mainstream and I'm sitting here, you know, working for Peen
- 1:42:53Speaker 10: Universal Studios playing characters. I was doing characters at Universal
- 1:42:56Speaker 10: Studios and doing the band as a sideline, which was
- 1:43:01Speaker 10: my real passion. So Stace, she got on the phone
- 1:43:06Speaker 10: and all of a sudden she got me booked in
- 1:43:08Speaker 10: these clubs throughout California and we were in California, and
- 1:43:12Speaker 10: the people would come up and say, Wow, you're really authentic.
- 1:43:16Speaker 10: These other bands are sort of imitating this, right, but
- 1:43:19Speaker 10: you're very authentic.
- 1:43:21Speaker 8: We grew up in it.
- 1:43:22Speaker 10: This is all I've ever done. I bet I never
- 1:43:25Speaker 10: wanted to be a punk band or a ska band
- 1:43:27Speaker 10: or anything. This is it. It's the only thing I
- 1:43:30Speaker 10: listened to.
- 1:43:31Speaker 7: So Judgon's Judgen's Live in March, right, that's a Sinatra
- 1:43:35Speaker 7: set or what are you doing?
- 1:43:36Speaker 10: Well, it's always the style of Frank Sinatra and Bobby
- 1:43:40Speaker 10: Darren and Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Junior. That's all
- 1:43:44Speaker 10: I do. So it's always in that genre. But I
- 1:43:47Speaker 10: can't tell you if it's going to be all Sinatra.
- 1:43:50Speaker 10: It's it's a big variety, like what you saw.
- 1:43:52Speaker 7: Yeah, but you always change it up because I mean
- 1:43:55Speaker 7: I think you do it several times throughout the year usually, yeah.
- 1:43:58Speaker 7: So it's so for people will come back, they're always
- 1:44:01Speaker 7: getting something different.
- 1:44:02Speaker 10: Yeah, And we're always focusing on some angle of that era,
- 1:44:06Speaker 10: and usually it is the late fifties early sixties. Sometimes
- 1:44:11Speaker 10: will focus on Academy Award winning songs, what songs won,
- 1:44:16Speaker 10: what songs didn't win, and isn't that unusual. So there's
- 1:44:20Speaker 10: always some kind of little antidotes that I throw in
- 1:44:22Speaker 10: there to tie things together.
- 1:44:24Speaker 7: All right, So you can get that at a doctor
- 1:44:26Speaker 7: Phillips Center dot org if there's any seats left. If not,
- 1:44:29Speaker 7: if if Mark sells out, keep an eye out because
- 1:44:33Speaker 7: I don't know if it's once a month or about
- 1:44:35Speaker 7: you know, throughout the year, you'll have more states at
- 1:44:38Speaker 7: Jutson's Live and give.
- 1:44:39Speaker 2: Us the address again for the CDs because someone just

- 1:51:49Speaker 3: up next? Jack? You tell me one, three, four or five?
- 1:51:52Speaker 3: Let's go three?
- 1:51:54Speaker 8: Three?
- 1:51:55Speaker 9: It is?
- 1:51:55Speaker 8: And that welcomes Javier.

- 1:52:06Speaker 3: so brother man, remaining titles.
- 1:52:08Speaker 8: Here we go.
- 1:52:09Speaker 3: We have three titles for you to choose from.
- 1:52:11Speaker 6: One of them is fraudulary, starting with this one smoking Tailpipes.
- 1:52:18Speaker 6: The next one is The Biggest Oozer, still gross, and
- 1:52:23Speaker 6: the next one is the knob Mob, which one of
- 1:52:27Speaker 6: those three titles is fake.
- 1:52:30Speaker 3: All right, the Biggest, the Biggest Ouzer. You say, yes, sorry, Xavier,
- 1:52:41Speaker 3: move like a cow. That's a very sad cow.
- 1:52:47Speaker 2: Than You're still hanging in there with us.
- 1:52:51Speaker 3: Tom, I think I think I'm glad I don't have
- 1:52:54Speaker 3: a TV career.
- 1:52:59Speaker 8: That's my favorite rendition of.
- 1:53:01Speaker 3: This, without a doubt, without a doubt. Let's go number one.
- 1:53:06Speaker 3: Number one it is, and we welcome Jeff to the show. Hey, Jeff,
- 1:53:09Speaker 3: how you doing. I'm doing great?
- 1:53:12Speaker 2: All right, Well, you've got a fifty to fifty shot
- 1:53:14Speaker 2: of picking the wrong porn title read by our one
- 1:53:17Speaker 2: and only game show.
- 1:53:18Speaker 3: I was Tom Soorrel.
- 1:53:19Speaker 8: He was almost Pat Sajack story.
- 1:53:22Speaker 3: Jeff.
- 1:53:22Speaker 6: Hey, listen, man, here are your titles to choose from
- 1:53:26Speaker 6: the first one is smoking Tailpipes. The next one is
- 1:53:31Speaker 6: the Knob Mob, which one of those two titles is
- 1:53:35Speaker 6: a fake.
- 1:53:37Speaker 3: The knob.
- 1:53:39Speaker 8: You're saying the knob Mob.
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: Yeah you did, you didn't, Jeff.
- 1:53:45Speaker 2: Congratulations, you have ended Tom Sorel's absolute torture with pick
- 1:53:49Speaker 2: the porn.
- 1:53:50Speaker 3: You have won the game, my friend.
- 1:53:52Speaker 2: We're gonna put you on hold so you can go
- 1:53:53Speaker 2: visit the Jackie Sack, and then we're gonna take a
- 1:53:56Speaker 2: break so that Tom can go to the washroom, to
- 1:53:58Speaker 2: the restroom and wash his hands, face, wash your soul.
- 1:54:06Speaker 3: Congratulations, Jeff. I won't even ask you to bark like
- 1:54:09Speaker 3: a dog for me, Tom, I would never. We want
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: you to go today there because Jack.
- 1:54:16Speaker 5: That's all.
- 1:54:18Speaker 3: Thank you, guys, Thank you Tom for being our stalwart
- 1:54:21Speaker 3: game show host Pat Sajack has nothing on you.
- 1:54:24Speaker 5: I think he does.
- 1:54:27Speaker 3: That's in the bank account exactly. Don't worry about that.
- 1:54:29Speaker 2: All right, We're gonna take a quick break. We'll be
- 1:54:31Speaker 2: back with more. So keep it here on Real Radio
- 1:54:33Speaker 2: one of four point one.
- 1:54:39Speaker 4: You're listening to the Jim Colbert Show.
- 1:54:48Speaker 5: Hey, I got a question here.
- 1:54:50Speaker 20: Why is it on the app? When you're listening on
- 1:54:53Speaker 20: the app, it blocks over puts ads over the traffic
- 1:54:57Speaker 20: and weather reports. I have to listen on on the
- 1:55:00Speaker 20: app on my phone in my work truck because the
- 1:55:02Speaker 20: work truck doesn't have radio. So driving all the way
- 1:55:05Speaker 20: back and forth Aytona, Orlando makes drives better, but would
- 1:55:09Speaker 20: definitely help if the traffic reports were on the app
- 1:55:11Speaker 20: as well.
- 1:55:13Speaker 8: All right, I can answer that.
- 1:55:14Speaker 3: Okay, good, Thank you Jack. I was going to look
- 1:55:16Speaker 3: to you anyway.
- 1:55:17Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:55:17Speaker 7: So, if you're listening on what we call in terrestrial
- 1:55:20Speaker 7: radio over the air, it's one oh four point one
- 1:55:22Speaker 7: on the FM dial. That means you are in our market,
- 1:55:26Speaker 7: which can be anywhere from Saint Augustine down to you know,
- 1:55:32Speaker 7: Ebor City right and all points in between.
- 1:55:36Speaker 8: And so that means you are in this area.
- 1:55:39Speaker 7: If you're listening on the app, you could be anywhere
- 1:55:41Speaker 7: in the world, and they actually we that's our streaming product,
- 1:55:46Speaker 7: and they have different ads that run on our streaming product,
- 1:55:50Speaker 7: and so the ad the commercials you hear on the
- 1:55:53Speaker 7: radio are different than what you hear if you're listening
- 1:55:56Speaker 7: on the app or on a smart speaker or on
- 1:55:58Speaker 7: your computer. Yeah, but if you are local listening on
- 1:56:03Speaker 7: the app, and so you would benefit from the traffic report.
- 1:56:07Speaker 8: I feel your pain. I understand. I wish there was
- 1:56:09Speaker 8: a way to get around that.
- 1:56:11Speaker 7: But that is why they replace those commercials with different commercials,
- 1:56:14Speaker 7: because it's a different product.
- 1:56:16Speaker 3: So, in other words, if you can listen to us
- 1:56:18Speaker 3: on terrestrial radio, you'll get those traffics.
- 1:56:20Speaker 7: Yeah, buddy heat but in a situation there where he
- 1:56:24Speaker 7: doesn't have a radio, but fortunately the app is there,
- 1:56:27Speaker 7: he just doesn't get the things that happened in the break.
- 1:56:29Speaker 2: Yeah, and you can always text us when you're safely
- 1:56:32Speaker 2: at a traffic light to seven seven zero three one
- 1:56:34Speaker 2: and we'll let you know what the traffic's done.
- 1:56:36Speaker 3: De will tell you absolutely. Yeah, yeah, Deuble tell you. Hey,
- 1:56:39Speaker 3: welcome back to the Jim Colbert Show. Jim, we'll be
- 1:56:41Speaker 3: back with us on Monday, taking a day off. You've
- 1:56:43Speaker 3: got deb Jack our special guest co host today. Tom Sorels, Hey,
- 1:56:47Speaker 3: how are you so much?
- 1:56:48Speaker 8: And Jack?
- 1:56:48Speaker 3: Yes, he got a message from the missus listen this.
- 1:56:53Speaker 5: Jack.
- 1:56:53Speaker 6: I wrote her and said, hey, hey, how's everything going.
- 1:56:57Speaker 6: My last knee segment where I can talk is coming up.
- 1:57:00Speaker 6: Everything else is playing, so tune in. And she's like,
- 1:57:02Speaker 6: I've been listening.
- 1:57:03Speaker 5: You were great with the porn.
- 1:57:06Speaker 3: Yay, Tom is gonna have a good no'm you didn't say,
- 1:57:13Speaker 3: don't come home in the living room with the dog
- 1:57:17Speaker 3: in the dog's house. We're done with you, not at all.
- 1:57:21Speaker 3: We can't wait to have you back again. Tom.
- 1:57:23Speaker 5: But yeah, Jim needs to take more time off.
- 1:57:25Speaker 3: I agree. I agree.
- 1:57:27Speaker 8: Jim will hear this. I'll go don't ever invite so.
- 1:57:31Speaker 3: Not at all.
- 1:57:33Speaker 2: But you know, since you have retired, as it were,
- 1:57:35Speaker 2: kind of incentivized away another way of saying it from
- 1:57:40Speaker 2: local TV, You've been doing a whole lot of traveling.
- 1:57:43Speaker 3: You know, I did, I have.
- 1:57:44Speaker 5: It's been crazy.
- 1:57:45Speaker 6: There are things I wanted to do, and I'm blessed
- 1:57:47Speaker 6: that my wife has a great job where they have
- 1:57:50Speaker 6: conferences in cool places and now I get to tag.
- 1:57:54Speaker 3: Along and be like a plus one ohne.
- 1:57:56Speaker 6: Last November I told Jack this earlier. I got to
- 1:57:58Speaker 6: see the Grand Canyon. Cool her conference in Phoenix, and
- 1:58:02Speaker 6: so I went out.
- 1:58:03Speaker 3: There and still a bucket list item for me.
- 1:58:07Speaker 8: You have to go same. Okay, so you were in Phoenix.
- 1:58:11Speaker 3: Uh huh?
- 1:58:11Speaker 8: What's the travel distance between that and the Grand Canyon.
- 1:58:13Speaker 6: It took me about two and a half, maybe three hours.
- 1:58:15Speaker 6: I think I could be recalling that wrong. Yeah, but
- 1:58:18Speaker 6: it's straight north out of there. I think we went straight.
- 1:58:20Speaker 6: I got to rent a car and drove up there
- 1:58:22Speaker 6: and spent a night or two there. I think maybe
- 1:58:25Speaker 6: just one night there because I've seen it. I've seen it,
- 1:58:27Speaker 6: and then over to Sedona.
- 1:58:28Speaker 7: Oh NOONA loved it and so I loved all that.
- 1:58:33Speaker 5: And then uh, that was November. And in November you
- 1:58:35Speaker 5: know that's TV ratings want.
- 1:58:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I could never have done that if I was
- 1:58:39Speaker 3: still worky all, you could not have gone.
- 1:58:41Speaker 6: I still would not have seen the Grand Canyon. Then
- 1:58:44Speaker 6: we did Christmas at home. It was January February March.
- 1:58:48Speaker 6: She had a conference in Berlin, Germany. Cool a place
- 1:58:52Speaker 6: I never would have thought to go to.
- 1:58:54Speaker 3: It is lovely. And I'm telling you I could live
- 1:58:56Speaker 3: there if I spoke German. Yeah, that was your next
- 1:58:59Speaker 3: language learn.
- 1:59:00Speaker 5: I don't think so.
- 1:59:01Speaker 8: Now Japan it's pretty tough too.
- 1:59:05Speaker 5: Did did Berlin? Did Vienna?
- 1:59:07Speaker 3: Oh that's another that it's a bucket list city for me?
- 1:59:09Speaker 5: I think for me personally, Vienna was better looking than Paris.
- 1:59:13Speaker 3: And then that's saying a lot.
- 1:59:15Speaker 5: And then onto Budapest.
- 1:59:16Speaker 8: Yeah, And so we did Budapest and I just loved it,
- 1:59:20Speaker 8: loved it so much. And this for nothing, but your
- 1:59:23Speaker 8: wife is killing it, yeah, killing out.
- 1:59:25Speaker 3: These are the place that she has.
- 1:59:26Speaker 8: To go for work.
- 1:59:27Speaker 6: Well, the place she had to go for it was Munich,
- 1:59:29Speaker 6: and we tacked on Vienna Budapest, Yeah, because you're over there.
- 1:59:32Speaker 3: Uh.
- 1:59:33Speaker 6: Then I came back to see I woke up in
- 1:59:34Speaker 6: Budapest that Tuesday, came back and then I flew to
- 1:59:37Speaker 6: South Carolina, which doesn't thrill people.
- 1:59:40Speaker 3: I was doing.
- 1:59:41Speaker 5: And then summer was kind of calmer, I think. And
- 1:59:43Speaker 5: then where do we go?
- 1:59:44Speaker 6: It seems like in August I moved my daughter to London.
- 1:59:47Speaker 6: Thing three is going to grad school in London at
- 1:59:50Speaker 6: the London School Economics, and so we dropped her off
- 1:59:52Speaker 6: there and then we got back. We had a week
- 1:59:54Speaker 6: at home, but since the house was empty, suddenly that empty.
- 2:00:00Speaker 6: This thing was back right, and we had planned to
- 2:00:03Speaker 6: go to New York City for two months.
- 2:00:06Speaker 11: Wow.
- 2:00:06Speaker 6: So September and October I lived in New York City
- 2:00:09Speaker 6: for two months, wow and had the best time.
- 2:00:13Speaker 7: Where did you live Upper West Side? You're in New Yorker, right, Yeah?
- 2:00:17Speaker 7: I grew up in New Jersey. My sister lives on
- 2:00:20Speaker 7: the Upper east Side, so but I am familiar. I
- 2:00:22Speaker 7: was on the I was on twenty sixth West, ninetieth Okay.
- 2:00:25Speaker 8: We loved it.
- 2:00:26Speaker 5: Got an Airbnb of course, Mitra found that. My wife
- 2:00:29Speaker 5: found that.
- 2:00:29Speaker 3: Of course she did, well, yeah, just go with it,
- 2:00:32Speaker 3: top and so I loved it.
- 2:00:34Speaker 5: It was great. We were like less than half a
- 2:00:36Speaker 5: block from Central Park.
- 2:00:38Speaker 3: That's a nice area, and she's on the other side
- 2:00:40Speaker 3: of Central Park.
- 2:00:40Speaker 5: I loved it so much.
- 2:00:42Speaker 3: I walked my dog in there three times a day,
- 2:00:43Speaker 3: two or three times a day.
- 2:00:45Speaker 5: Loved it.
- 2:00:46Speaker 6: I got to volunteer for the Have you ever heard
- 2:00:49Speaker 6: of the New York Film Festival? Yes, yeah, okay, so okay.
- 2:00:52Speaker 6: I volunteered for them because I had to have something
- 2:00:54Speaker 6: to do and.
- 2:00:56Speaker 3: Top being a kept man, just awful.
- 2:00:59Speaker 6: So volunte here to the film festival, and they hired
- 2:01:02Speaker 6: me on as a talent liaison, which meant, you know,
- 2:01:05Speaker 6: like the talent who were there for the show. I
- 2:01:09Speaker 6: worked the red carpets and got the talent backstage, got
- 2:01:12Speaker 6: water for people the A list celebrities were not supposed
- 2:01:17Speaker 6: to talk to them unless they talk to you, but
- 2:01:19Speaker 6: don't ask for autographs or whatever.
- 2:01:20Speaker 3: You be cool, be like you would treat them here
- 2:01:23Speaker 3: at the radio station. Hey, how you doing, Yeah, exactly,
- 2:01:25Speaker 3: help put your headphones on.
- 2:01:27Speaker 6: So I'd like I'd worked the red carpet for a
- 2:01:29Speaker 6: thing called, uh a House of Dynamite.
- 2:01:32Speaker 3: Oh yeah, new show on Netflix.
- 2:01:34Speaker 5: Yes, uh.
- 2:01:35Speaker 6: That night I had to take care of I spoke
- 2:01:38Speaker 6: to the director by mistake, and then I had to
- 2:01:41Speaker 6: take care of these.
- 2:01:43Speaker 8: You didn't know the director.
- 2:01:44Speaker 5: I'm director because this is miss Catherine Bigelows. She's there.
- 2:01:50Speaker 5: You're so sorry.
- 2:01:52Speaker 6: She did, and so I had the casting director, which
- 2:01:54Speaker 6: is her pal, right behind her. I was escorting her,
- 2:01:57Speaker 6: she and her husband. And when I got backstage, you
- 2:01:59Speaker 6: got them on SA. I had to back up, and
- 2:02:01Speaker 6: everybody stopped, and the guy stopped right in front of
- 2:02:03Speaker 6: me was Idris Elba.
- 2:02:05Speaker 3: Oh wow, And he turns and looks at me and
- 2:02:07Speaker 3: did you fall in love instantly? And when do you
- 2:02:10Speaker 3: say that?
- 2:02:10Speaker 5: He is a Goodligan dude. And he looks at me
- 2:02:12Speaker 5: and he's British and I won't do the British accent.
- 2:02:14Speaker 6: But he looked at me and goes, how you doing tonight?
- 2:02:17Speaker 6: And I went, I'm doing great, my man, how are you?
- 2:02:20Speaker 6: And he goes, oh, having a great time, great time,
- 2:02:22Speaker 6: And we are so excited you came. We're so happy
- 2:02:25Speaker 6: you're here. And he goes, I would not miss this.
- 2:02:27Speaker 6: This is my favorite part. I mean no, this is wonderful, wonderful,
- 2:02:29Speaker 6: and I'm like cool and they go mister Elbow now
- 2:02:32Speaker 6: and he goes see you man, And so it texts
- 2:02:34Speaker 6: me like, hey, I just talked to Elba.
- 2:02:37Speaker 5: He asked about you.
- 2:02:39Speaker 3: Because he didn't, No, baby, he didn't. He didn't. The
- 2:02:44Speaker 3: other movie I did was but I want to be
- 2:02:46Speaker 3: asked to the next trip.
- 2:02:47Speaker 5: So he was. He was very cool to everyone, which
- 2:02:49Speaker 5: is always good.
- 2:02:50Speaker 3: YEA. Also did George Clooney's movie what's it called?
- 2:02:53Speaker 5: J Kelly?
- 2:02:53Speaker 6: Yes, so he was the Coloney was there, his wife
- 2:02:56Speaker 6: was there, Billy Crudup was there, Adam sam Lure.
- 2:03:01Speaker 3: And all kinds of stars were there for that.
- 2:03:03Speaker 5: In the third one, was he.
- 2:03:04Speaker 8: Wearing shorts and a like a bat.
- 2:03:06Speaker 5: He actually dressed up.
- 2:03:07Speaker 6: He he's playing this movie seriously because Colooney is after
- 2:03:11Speaker 6: him to be serious, because he's like, you know, the
- 2:03:13Speaker 6: comedy is good for you, but it's holding your career back.
- 2:03:15Speaker 5: You are a serious actor. So he's very serious in
- 2:03:18Speaker 5: this movie. He was good. He was really good.
- 2:03:20Speaker 8: We saw that in uncut Gems. He played it serious,
- 2:03:23Speaker 8: was really cool. Laura Dern what an.
- 2:03:26Speaker 6: Angel's sweetie signs all the autographs everybody outside. I'm outside
- 2:03:31Speaker 6: trying to USh everybody, and she runs over signs autographs.
- 2:03:33Speaker 3: Billy croud Up not so much so much. He wasn't
- 2:03:36Speaker 3: a bad guy, but he didn't sign autographs.
- 2:03:38Speaker 5: He just shot right in here.
- 2:03:40Speaker 6: You owned Billy, Billy. Billy's it right. In the third
- 2:03:44Speaker 6: movie I did the Red Carpet four was.
- 2:03:49Speaker 3: Is this thing on?
- 2:03:50Speaker 5: It's a it's a uh Bradley Cooper movie.
- 2:03:53Speaker 3: Okay, oh wow, oh yeah yeah yeah. They said with
- 2:03:55Speaker 3: uh what's his nail? Arnette?
- 2:03:57Speaker 8: Yeah, will Arnette is a comedian and Laura.
- 2:04:00Speaker 5: Again, she was back again.
- 2:04:01Speaker 6: The other thing I did was I sign up for
- 2:04:02Speaker 6: Central Casting because I always want to be like, you know,
- 2:04:05Speaker 6: drunk guy and bar I.
- 2:04:06Speaker 8: Can you find the coolest hobbies?
- 2:04:07Speaker 6: Bro?
- 2:04:08Speaker 3: I know.
- 2:04:08Speaker 6: So I didn't know nobody to get called or not,
- 2:04:10Speaker 6: but I did. I've got like a minute and a
- 2:04:11Speaker 6: half here. So I always told me I'll.
- 2:04:14Speaker 5: Be an actor. I'll try to go to auditions, I'll
- 2:04:15Speaker 5: have fun.
- 2:04:16Speaker 3: Well let me hold.
- 2:04:17Speaker 6: They call and they're like, you're gonna be at the
- 2:04:19Speaker 6: Christmas party. Here's a martini sitting in the back, and
- 2:04:21Speaker 6: I can do this some of the back. It's a
- 2:04:23Speaker 6: show called Furious that comes out of the Hulu in
- 2:04:25Speaker 6: the spring. Second one I did was a thing called
- 2:04:29Speaker 6: The Hunting Group.
- 2:04:30Speaker 5: Not that thing on Netflix with the Women or Rockie.
- 2:04:34Speaker 6: But this is on NBC and it's the second season
- 2:04:38Speaker 6: coming up. And again I was speed dating in the
- 2:04:40Speaker 6: back with my martini. And the third one I did
- 2:04:42Speaker 6: was a Law and Order episode when I was at
- 2:04:44Speaker 6: a wedding night before practice, the rehearsal dinner, and I
- 2:04:49Speaker 6: had a martini at my table to toast and I
- 2:04:51Speaker 6: said to me, I think I'd be a typecast.
- 2:04:55Speaker 3: I think they took this drunk guide of art, thing
- 2:04:57Speaker 3: to Heart, the Law and Overer episod.
- 2:05:00Speaker 5: So it aired, and the only part of me that
- 2:05:01Speaker 5: got on was the back of my head.
- 2:05:03Speaker 3: I was there for eight hours.
- 2:05:05Speaker 5: I got one hundred and fifty bucks.
- 2:05:06Speaker 7: Now, okay, I was going to ask it one hundred
- 2:05:08Speaker 7: and fifty bucks because back in the nineties I was
- 2:05:10Speaker 7: doing extra work here and it.
- 2:05:12Speaker 8: Was I think it was like sixty bucks for the day.
- 2:05:15Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:05:15Speaker 6: I also learned what a walk away lunch is. The
- 2:05:18Speaker 6: first two fed me, you know, they're like, I don't
- 2:05:20Speaker 6: like to eat it, but I ate a little. And
- 2:05:22Speaker 6: the third ones and you'll have a walk away lunch.
- 2:05:24Speaker 5: I'm like, what is it good to lunch? Walk away? No, no,
- 2:05:27Speaker 5: you're in Manhattan.
- 2:05:28Speaker 3: It's lunchtime. Go walk away, Go eat your lunch. Okay,
- 2:05:32Speaker 3: I learned. I bet you did it.
- 2:05:34Speaker 8: That's funny. So I had lots of adventures.
- 2:05:35Speaker 5: I love New York. We loved our two months there.
- 2:05:37Speaker 3: Wow, So then back here? Do you plans to do
- 2:05:40Speaker 3: it again?
- 2:05:41Speaker 6: Or no, we'll not go back to New York. I
- 2:05:42Speaker 6: don't think we may vacation for lengthy period of So
- 2:05:45Speaker 6: it was just something.
- 2:05:46Speaker 3: We wanted to do.
- 2:05:47Speaker 9: You know.
- 2:05:47Speaker 8: Yeah, it was very cool.
- 2:05:48Speaker 6: And two of our kids live there, ones in Brooklyn,
- 2:05:50Speaker 6: one's in Raawway, Jersey. So we saw them every week.
- 2:05:53Speaker 3: Oh that's awesome.
- 2:05:54Speaker 5: A couple of times a week dinner at least once.
- 2:05:56Speaker 5: It was awesome.
- 2:05:56Speaker 2: That is well, man, your twenty twenty six is going
- 2:05:59Speaker 2: to have a hard time. I'm keeping up with your
- 2:06:00Speaker 2: twenty twenty five.
- 2:06:01Speaker 6: It was busy highlights was at least I'm getting here
- 2:06:04Speaker 6: once a year. Yeah, Jim has to take more time
- 2:06:07Speaker 6: on I agree.
- 2:06:08Speaker 11: We're going to work on that.
- 2:06:09Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly exactly.
- 2:06:11Speaker 2: But what we are going to do right now is
- 2:06:12Speaker 2: we're going to take a quick break and when we
- 2:06:14Speaker 2: come back, Jaden Grimes is going to join us awesome
- 2:06:17Speaker 2: and give us his eight bit updates. So we're going
- 2:06:19Speaker 2: to do that next Keep it here on the Jim
- 2:06:21Speaker 2: Culbert Show on Real Radio one O four point one.
- 2:06:35Speaker 21: Hey, Dad, just want to correction. So watercress is an
- 2:06:38Speaker 21: invasive species in Florida. Water chestnut is the crunchy things
- 2:06:43Speaker 21: you get in Asian food. So the watercress is one
- 2:06:47Speaker 21: of those weird leafy, green, aquatic and emergent plants that'll
- 2:06:52Speaker 21: pretty much take over a.
- 2:06:53Speaker 3: Lot of area.
- 2:06:56Speaker 2: Well, thank you for the correction. CDC still says as
- 2:07:00Speaker 2: it's one of the it's the top.
- 2:07:03Speaker 11: The top. What the.
- 2:07:08Speaker 3: The healthiest, the healthiest vegetable in the world. The water
- 2:07:12Speaker 3: was watercress.
- 2:07:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't believe it because of it's vitamins, minerals
- 2:07:17Speaker 2: and antioxidants and a low calorie package watercress, watercress. Either way,
- 2:07:25Speaker 2: Welcome back to the Jim Culbert Show on Real Radio
- 2:07:27Speaker 2: one oh.
- 2:07:27Speaker 3: Four point one. Jim will be back with us on Monday.
- 2:07:29Speaker 3: He's just slacking off today.
- 2:07:31Speaker 2: Every Friday at this time, whether Jim is here or not,
- 2:07:34Speaker 2: we invite the very very affable young man Jaden Grimes
- 2:07:39Speaker 2: with his eight bit up Day.
- 2:07:44Speaker 8: You ready for it? I am, Let's do it.
- 2:07:47Speaker 4: It's time on Real Radio. Get ready for your quick
- 2:07:53Speaker 4: hit on gaming news, reviews and the little chaos as
- 2:07:56Speaker 4: pop Pump tries gaming. What Jayden starts now.
- 2:08:01Speaker 3: Put chans together for Jaden Grime. How you doing, Jaydon,
- 2:08:06Speaker 3: I'm doing great.
- 2:08:07Speaker 4: I look over to my left.
- 2:08:08Speaker 17: There's no pop pop this time, no pop pop.
- 2:08:10Speaker 3: You got Tom Sorel. I could pass for pop pop.
- 2:08:13Speaker 3: I mean what I can pull off? Yeah?
- 2:08:15Speaker 8: No, I got out of touch, I can be.
- 2:08:20Speaker 17: Do you play video games?
- 2:08:22Speaker 3: No? Not since I was eighteen, bro, So yeah, I'm
- 2:08:24Speaker 3: pop pop to you.
- 2:08:25Speaker 17: All right, we're gonna learn a little bit. The Game
- 2:08:28Speaker 17: Awards happened last night, Jack, I'm sure you're a happy
- 2:08:31Speaker 17: man sitting over there.
- 2:08:33Speaker 7: Yes, I am a happy man. I was not aware
- 2:08:36Speaker 7: that the Game Awards were on last night. So what
- 2:08:38Speaker 7: happened to.
- 2:08:38Speaker 17: Expedition thirty three to one? Nine awards last night? And
- 2:08:42Speaker 17: Game of the Year?
- 2:08:43Speaker 7: Okay, so this was a game that Ross predicted, he
- 2:08:46Speaker 7: told me. When he told me about this game, Ross
- 2:08:50Speaker 7: was like, hey, checked this game out. These developers left
- 2:08:53Speaker 7: this company to do their own thing. I downloaded it,
- 2:08:57Speaker 7: I started playing it. It's a beautiful game, and it
- 2:09:01Speaker 7: for me, it just got a little too hard and
- 2:09:04Speaker 7: I wasn't interested enough to try and learn to conquer it,
- 2:09:09Speaker 7: and then I kind of I gave up on it.
- 2:09:11Speaker 7: He kept playing and said it was one of the
- 2:09:13Speaker 7: greatest games I played it. I was like, eh, I
- 2:09:16Speaker 7: played better visually it was gorgeous, and Ross predicted He goes,
- 2:09:22Speaker 7: there's you know, this could be the game of the Year.
- 2:09:24Speaker 8: So I guess they won the award.
- 2:09:26Speaker 17: Yeah, they won pretty much almost every award they were
- 2:09:29Speaker 17: selected for nine of thirteen.
- 2:09:31Speaker 7: Wow, you got to feel good if you and seven
- 2:09:34Speaker 7: of your coworkers say hey, we're leaving because we think
- 2:09:37Speaker 7: we can do this better, and.
- 2:09:38Speaker 3: Then you prove that you can.
- 2:09:39Speaker 5: To the rocket.
- 2:09:40Speaker 17: Yeah, now my favorite game. For the last month and
- 2:09:43Speaker 17: a half, I've been addicted. It's been my whole life.
- 2:09:46Speaker 17: Arc Raiders have won Best Multiplayer Game of the Year,
- 2:09:49Speaker 17: which in a two month span, you're already winning awards.
- 2:09:51Speaker 17: I think you're doing pretty solid for your video game.
- 2:09:55Speaker 7: Not bad if it's out that long. So how would
- 2:09:57Speaker 7: you describe that came? Someone has no idea what arc
- 2:09:59Speaker 7: Raad is.
- 2:10:00Speaker 17: Arc Raaders is this survival game. You're just looting around,
- 2:10:03Speaker 17: You're killing people. There's these giant drones and when I
- 2:10:07Speaker 17: tell you, it's like a movie. They're flying at you.
- 2:10:09Speaker 17: I'm yelling for my buddy to come save my life.
- 2:10:12Speaker 17: I'm I'm over here fighting. I got Megatron on me,
- 2:10:15Speaker 17: just dropping explosives. There's these giant things that they're called
- 2:10:19Speaker 17: the Queens and everything. When I tell you, they're like
- 2:10:22Speaker 17: crawling up buildings like spiders. It's the tar It's terrifying.
- 2:10:26Speaker 17: I got scared of drones and AI even more than
- 2:10:28Speaker 17: I was.
- 2:10:30Speaker 3: I'm that saying something.
- 2:10:31Speaker 6: I know.
- 2:10:32Speaker 17: That's all I dream about.
- 2:10:33Speaker 10: It's my life.
- 2:10:33Speaker 4: It's consumed me.
- 2:10:39Speaker 17: Coming with the Game Awards, there is a lot of
- 2:10:41Speaker 17: new game reveals, a lot of trailers. That's what this
- 2:10:44Speaker 17: Game Awards really is, more than the actual award show.
- 2:10:48Speaker 17: The Sons of the Forest three, I'm really excited looking
- 2:10:50Speaker 17: forward to this. This is the third one, but it's
- 2:10:52Speaker 17: jumping crazy. So it was like a modern day survival game.
- 2:10:56Speaker 17: Both games, you were in a plane crash, you landed
- 2:10:58Speaker 17: on this like Cannibal Eyeland, and you just had to survive. Really,
- 2:11:02Speaker 17: but now I got a little theory. The new one
- 2:11:05Speaker 17: takes place in space. It's your like one hundred years
- 2:11:08Speaker 17: in the past, and I'm assuming your spaceship crashes on
- 2:11:11Speaker 17: the same island.
- 2:11:11Speaker 3: And now these cannibals are like space space cannibals. Yeah,
- 2:11:15Speaker 3: it looks crazy.
- 2:11:16Speaker 8: Audio games seem to be the same though.
- 2:11:18Speaker 2: You know you got preparing yeah, preparing us for a
- 2:11:22Speaker 2: very dystopian future.
- 2:11:23Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, I mean yeah, and cannibals.
- 2:11:26Speaker 6: Give Tom for not understanding when you say you have
- 2:11:29Speaker 6: to survive you have what are you doing?
- 2:11:31Speaker 5: Like your hand control. You're shooting these people you collecked.
- 2:11:33Speaker 17: You are on an island, you're collecting food, you're collecting water,
- 2:11:36Speaker 17: you're breaking down trees, which hand control. Yeah, I'm on
- 2:11:40Speaker 17: my keyboard and mouse over here, just like this for
- 2:11:42Speaker 17: like hour, trying to get Yeah. Well, yeah, the rain
- 2:11:46Speaker 17: probably gets you a little sick and then you got
- 2:11:48Speaker 17: to find a cure. It's usually how some of these
- 2:11:50Speaker 17: games go. Yeah, some of them get like real deep
- 2:11:52Speaker 17: into the survival aspects.
- 2:11:54Speaker 3: Some of them are for me.
- 2:11:56Speaker 17: Some of them get a little to it, a little tedious.
- 2:12:00Speaker 17: The rain hits me and I'm sick. Are you kidding me?
- 2:12:03Speaker 17: I'm not going to play that.
- 2:12:04Speaker 7: That's too much Like come on, I don't pay attention
- 2:12:10Speaker 7: to rain in real life. You think I'm going to
- 2:12:12Speaker 7: exact to it in the virtual world.
- 2:12:13Speaker 17: That's what I I live in Florida. Rain is going
- 2:12:16Speaker 17: to happen. I'm not gonna get sick. A couple weeks ago,
- 2:12:19Speaker 17: I told you guys about the Star Wars game that
- 2:12:22Speaker 17: got canceled, and I was really looking forward to it.
- 2:12:25Speaker 17: It was the main reason I bought a PlayStation five
- 2:12:27Speaker 17: to begin with. And nothing happens. I should sue them.
- 2:12:31Speaker 17: You're right, Well, they kind of refurbished the game. Instead
- 2:12:36Speaker 17: of remaking an old game, they're making it into a sequel.
- 2:12:39Speaker 17: They're using what they had in the engine, they've already built,
- 2:12:42Speaker 17: and they're just going to turn it into a sequel,
- 2:12:44Speaker 17: a whole brand new game.
- 2:12:45Speaker 3: And it looks beautiful. Now we haven't got any gameplay.
- 2:12:48Speaker 3: It's all cinematic, but it looks like it's real life.
- 2:12:51Speaker 8: So that's good news.
- 2:12:52Speaker 17: Yeah, it's great news.
- 2:12:53Speaker 3: Cancel the lawsuit, yeah, cancel the lawsuit.
- 2:12:56Speaker 17: We can cancel the lawsuits.
- 2:12:57Speaker 7: But so you said you bought a PS five, So
- 2:13:00Speaker 7: is it exclusive to PlayStation now?
- 2:13:02Speaker 3: No?
- 2:13:03Speaker 17: Not, Originally it was. Now it seems like it's coming
- 2:13:06Speaker 17: out to all consoles. Okay, yeah, a PlayStation exclusive did
- 2:13:10Speaker 17: get shown last night. Last week, I told you about
- 2:13:13Speaker 17: the Left four Dead remake. You know how the original
- 2:13:17Speaker 17: creators of Left for Dead are coming to this new
- 2:13:19Speaker 17: company to make like a whole new Left were Dead. Well,
- 2:13:22Speaker 17: the trailer was shown last night and the game looks
- 2:13:24Speaker 17: like it sucks.
- 2:13:25Speaker 4: The game the game was gone awful.
- 2:13:28Speaker 17: It looked like it was from twenty fourteen. The graphics
- 2:13:31Speaker 17: just don't look how game old?
- 2:13:33Speaker 3: Yeah that old?
- 2:13:34Speaker 17: I know, well, listen with graphics, that makes a huge difference. Yeah,
- 2:13:37Speaker 17: the ten years makes a drag.
- 2:13:38Speaker 3: I mean even five years, I would imagine makes a
- 2:13:41Speaker 3: huge difference. Yeah, it really does. But the game just
- 2:13:43Speaker 3: looks old. It looks boring. It's it's a zombie alien
- 2:13:48Speaker 3: shooter game. It does look really good one another one.
- 2:13:50Speaker 3: It just looks really repetitive.
- 2:13:52Speaker 17: If you're gonna do the same category of games, you
- 2:13:54Speaker 17: got to make it some type of level of interesting.
- 2:13:57Speaker 17: You got to add your little twist to it.
- 2:13:59Speaker 4: And they are or not.
- 2:14:00Speaker 7: While you're right dev about how ten years in the
- 2:14:02Speaker 7: world of gaming and electronics and development is like a
- 2:14:06Speaker 7: world of time. Yet Grand Theft Auto five ten years old. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:14:12Speaker 7: but that people are still playing it.
- 2:14:14Speaker 17: Yeah, but it's also had five different updates to make
- 2:14:17Speaker 17: it better at the same time. Okay, so it update,
- 2:14:20Speaker 17: it gets better with each console that comes out. That's
- 2:14:23Speaker 17: that's how they make their money over at rock Star.
- 2:14:25Speaker 17: They just sell you the same game over and over.
- 2:14:28Speaker 8: Yeah, and we're all waiting, we got a year until
- 2:14:30Speaker 8: the next one come.
- 2:14:31Speaker 17: To Yeah, but GTA five has got an update, and
- 2:14:33Speaker 17: it's actually a really big update that you can buy
- 2:14:36Speaker 17: Mansions now you can.
- 2:14:37Speaker 8: Uh, it's not really like Tom, you want to buy
- 2:14:40Speaker 8: a virtual you want.
- 2:14:41Speaker 17: To buy a virtual mansion for eleven million virtual dollars.
- 2:14:44Speaker 3: I think I'm good. You sure.
- 2:14:45Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 2:14:46Speaker 17: It probably takes like four days to get and you
- 2:14:48Speaker 17: probably can't do much with it afterwards, but you got it.
- 2:14:51Speaker 7: You know, when you're done rubbing elbows with Hollywood big wigs,
- 2:14:54Speaker 7: you know you need maybe a little game time.
- 2:14:56Speaker 8: When's the last time you played that video game?
- 2:14:58Speaker 5: Nineteen eighty one?
- 2:15:00Speaker 3: So I know, dude, I was King. I was King Phoenix.
- 2:15:02Speaker 3: Brother man, you're born Jade in two thousand and five,
- 2:15:07Speaker 3: said earlier.
- 2:15:08Speaker 8: That's what you said earlier fourteen.
- 2:15:09Speaker 3: I'm like, that's half his life ago.
- 2:15:12Speaker 8: So this is legit arcade style, like like or right.
- 2:15:18Speaker 6: I had to go pop a quarter in and blow
- 2:15:19Speaker 6: up the planet a sort And by the end of
- 2:15:22Speaker 6: the summer my name did you click them out and
- 2:15:24Speaker 6: put your name on top? I was Tom Tommy Sorels,
- 2:15:26Speaker 6: King Phoenix, And the day before I left for college,
- 2:15:29Speaker 6: some eight year old boy came there crushed it, and
- 2:15:31Speaker 6: I ripped my name off and.
- 2:15:32Speaker 5: I went, I'm done. I'm done.
- 2:15:35Speaker 6: I've never played again video so all this stuff you've done.
- 2:15:38Speaker 6: I mean, missus back mans as wild as I got.
- 2:15:41Speaker 8: So all this stuff you're talking about, I'm like, this
- 2:15:43Speaker 8: kid knows what he's talking about.
- 2:15:45Speaker 5: This kid language.
- 2:15:47Speaker 17: Now, I've never talked about a Lego game on this show.
- 2:15:50Speaker 17: I've stopped myself. I'm gonna do it. They're quite popular,
- 2:15:54Speaker 17: the Lego Dude, They're amazing. I've been playing them since
- 2:15:56Speaker 17: I was a child, So I might have some little
- 2:15:58Speaker 17: special connection there.
- 2:16:00Speaker 8: Asked why have you resisted the to talk about it.
- 2:16:03Speaker 17: I don't know. I feel like it's not the demographic here.
- 2:16:06Speaker 3: I feel like many people looked around the room.
- 2:16:09Speaker 7: So if you think about that, I do play video games, right,
- 2:16:12Speaker 7: I don't play often, and I don't play to the
- 2:16:14Speaker 7: level that you play. But you know so, I mean
- 2:16:18Speaker 7: there is different games appeal to different people. So I
- 2:16:21Speaker 7: think if anyone's interested in video gaming, maybe the Lego
- 2:16:24Speaker 7: series is good for them. And it's not building legos,
- 2:16:28Speaker 7: it's characters. The environment and the virtual world is constructed
- 2:16:33Speaker 7: of Legos.
- 2:16:34Speaker 16: Right.
- 2:16:34Speaker 17: Yeah, So this Batman game, it's a Lego it's another
- 2:16:37Speaker 17: Lego Batman game, but it goes through every single phase
- 2:16:41Speaker 17: of Batman and from Adam West to Christian Bale to
- 2:16:45Speaker 17: Robert Pattison to Ben Affleck. Literally every single Batman is
- 2:16:49Speaker 17: in this game, and it takes over from the Arkhamas series.
- 2:16:53Speaker 17: I don't have you ever played the Arkham Batman games.
- 2:16:55Speaker 17: Now there's some of the best trilogy of all to well,
- 2:16:58Speaker 17: there's four of them, but the best game of all time.
- 2:17:00Speaker 17: I love them. They got me into superheroes, Batman and
- 2:17:03Speaker 17: stuff like that. Those games right there, they're phenomenal. They
- 2:17:06Speaker 17: take the combat system from that game, which is one
- 2:17:08Speaker 17: of the greatest combat systems I've ever played with. It's phenomenal.
- 2:17:12Speaker 17: It's a rhythm combat system. So you're just bouncing from everyone,
- 2:17:15Speaker 17: punching them in the head, just going left right.
- 2:17:18Speaker 3: Jumping off the chest. It's wy on I four but
- 2:17:21Speaker 3: you wish you could.
- 2:17:22Speaker 7: Exactly taking your word for it, hey man, you you
- 2:17:25Speaker 7: should get it. So so the new one is what's
- 2:17:29Speaker 7: it called.
- 2:17:30Speaker 17: Uh Lego Batman Legacy of the Dark Night. It releases
- 2:17:33Speaker 17: May twenty six all consoles, Steam, e Fic Game stores.
- 2:17:38Speaker 8: How do you know it's so great?
- 2:17:39Speaker 3: It doesn't come out for another half a year.
- 2:17:41Speaker 17: I'm going off trailers. It looks phenomenal. Listen, this is
- 2:17:45Speaker 17: what we do in video games. We get super hyped
- 2:17:47Speaker 17: off trailers and then we get really disappointed and complain
- 2:17:50Speaker 17: on Twitter.
- 2:17:52Speaker 19: Dating, right, it sounds like dating. Yeah, get super hyped
- 2:17:57Speaker 19: and you're like, oh yeah, it just sucks up. Yeah,
- 2:18:00Speaker 19: I want to go to Lego Batman.
- 2:18:02Speaker 3: Yeah, and now I'm out twenty bucks more than that.
- 2:18:06Speaker 17: If you've been on a date recently, oh my god,
- 2:18:09Speaker 17: don't get me started.
- 2:18:10Speaker 4: It's bad.
- 2:18:11Speaker 7: But you had it in New a couple of weeks
- 2:18:12Speaker 7: or Jim did. The average date is like one hundred
- 2:18:14Speaker 7: and forty dollars.
- 2:18:16Speaker 17: Yeah, dude, Christmas making me broke over here. We haven't
- 2:18:19Speaker 17: even been dating for a year. That's a completely different topics.
- 2:18:23Speaker 8: You have two jobs, you have three jobs.
- 2:18:26Speaker 17: Yeah, but like dude, women are expensive.
- 2:18:29Speaker 4: I'm learning this.
- 2:18:30Speaker 8: Tell us about it.
- 2:18:31Speaker 17: Yeah, you guys probably know better than me.
- 2:18:33Speaker 3: I tell a wife and three daughters. What's over the same?
- 2:18:37Speaker 3: I can tell you, But it's better to watch and learn.
- 2:18:39Speaker 17: Yeah, I'm learning this.
- 2:18:41Speaker 3: I'm learning. Tell me about so the awards? You say,
- 2:18:44Speaker 3: did you watch them yesterday?
- 2:18:46Speaker 17: I know, I woke up and just rewatched everything, just
- 2:18:49Speaker 17: like the breakdown of everything. I don't like watching these
- 2:18:51Speaker 17: awards shows, they're so drawn out.
- 2:18:53Speaker 7: Well, I'm curious that like video game awards how I mean,
- 2:18:57Speaker 7: I don't expect that you watch the oscars of the
- 2:19:00Speaker 7: but what is the setup? Like, is it a bunch
- 2:19:03Speaker 7: of people that they just announced and people come up
- 2:19:06Speaker 7: and give a thank.
- 2:19:06Speaker 17: You speech or some if some people are there live,
- 2:19:09Speaker 17: some people just are virtual and they watch it on
- 2:19:12Speaker 17: Twitch like it's a little stream party they have on Twitch,
- 2:19:14Speaker 17: and if they win the award, they're like ah on
- 2:19:17Speaker 17: Twitch and everything.
- 2:19:18Speaker 8: How's it go.
- 2:19:21Speaker 3: Like that?
- 2:19:21Speaker 17: They get really hyped one of my favorite and go bro, yeah,
- 2:19:25Speaker 17: they probably do.
- 2:19:26Speaker 4: Pros just like just like that.
- 2:19:30Speaker 17: I put to borrow that one of a So there's
- 2:19:32Speaker 17: a thing called v tubers. It's like where they have
- 2:19:35Speaker 17: this weird avatar and they play video games. But a
- 2:19:38Speaker 17: peanut won an award last night. He dresses up as
- 2:19:40Speaker 17: a peanut and plays video games. And I'm very proud
- 2:19:43Speaker 17: of that because he's hilarious.
- 2:19:46Speaker 3: I know. I think we talked about this last week. Tom.
- 2:19:49Speaker 7: I was shocked to learn at that stage where I
- 2:19:52Speaker 7: learned that people actually just watch other people play video games.
- 2:19:56Speaker 17: I've heard yeah, but it's awesome.
- 2:19:57Speaker 7: I've heard it's huge in the industry's the gaming industry
- 2:20:01Speaker 7: is bigger than television and movies come by crazy.
- 2:20:04Speaker 17: Yeah, dude, the money you think games, well now that
- 2:20:08Speaker 17: money is just liquid that it is what I mean.
- 2:20:11Speaker 3: Yeah, no, I watched them with a girlfriend.
- 2:20:15Speaker 4: Hunh Yeah, I really do.
- 2:20:17Speaker 17: I just watch YouTube videos while I play video games,
- 2:20:19Speaker 17: like I I it's just something I do. You know,
- 2:20:22Speaker 17: the YouTube is reading it, So.
- 2:20:23Speaker 5: You're what what are you watch it on YouTube?
- 2:20:25Speaker 8: Are your gamers?
- 2:20:27Speaker 17: Sometimes?
- 2:20:28Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 2:20:29Speaker 17: Sometimes, if you know, if it's just more of like
- 2:20:31Speaker 17: a background noise for me.
- 2:20:32Speaker 3: So gotta remember there's this generation that YouTube here.
- 2:20:36Speaker 5: And your stuff.
- 2:20:37Speaker 17: It's usually on my phone. Yeah, I got my phone
- 2:20:39Speaker 17: propped up like this right here, and every once in
- 2:20:41Speaker 17: a while I'll peek at it laugh ha ha ha,
- 2:20:43Speaker 17: I'll play video games.
- 2:20:44Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 2:20:45Speaker 2: This is the generation that it uses subtitles more on
- 2:20:48Speaker 2: the television behave subtitles. But well, for a lot of them,
- 2:20:51Speaker 2: it's because they're three screening it, right. They've got their phone,
- 2:20:54Speaker 2: they've got their laptop, they've got you know, something up
- 2:20:56Speaker 2: on the television screen, be it YouTube.
- 2:20:58Speaker 3: Do you consume news at all?
- 2:21:00Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 2:21:01Speaker 8: Where we're from YouTube?
- 2:21:03Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 2:21:04Speaker 4: YouTube?
- 2:21:05Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 2:21:05Speaker 17: Yeah, no, no, not not TikTok. I don't really I
- 2:21:07Speaker 17: don't use TikTok. Yeah, I stay away from TikTok. I don't.
- 2:21:10Speaker 17: I don't really like that.
- 2:21:11Speaker 3: I don't know either. Yeah, I'm not a huge fan
- 2:21:13Speaker 3: of it. I like Instagram though, Instagram school. I'm on
- 2:21:16Speaker 3: Instagram hours a day.
- 2:21:17Speaker 7: I use YouTube when I'm gaming as well. But I'll
- 2:21:19Speaker 7: be playing a game I get stuck. Then I go
- 2:21:21Speaker 7: on YouTube. I said, show me how to get past
- 2:21:24Speaker 7: this you know, level, and then you can watch someone
- 2:21:27Speaker 7: do it. It's like, oh, that's where.
- 2:21:28Speaker 3: You can get anything on YouTube. Man, anything on YouTube.
- 2:21:32Speaker 3: YouTube and Instagram those are my two favorites.
- 2:21:34Speaker 17: I learned how to rebuild my Mini Cooper on YouTube
- 2:21:38Speaker 17: broke down. Yeah, I mean I didn't rebuild it. My
- 2:21:40Speaker 17: buddy did, but we learned on YouTube.
- 2:21:42Speaker 7: I just installed my dishwasher, stove, and last year a toilet.
- 2:21:46Speaker 10: All.
- 2:21:46Speaker 8: Look, there's a lot of things YouTube university.
- 2:21:49Speaker 4: Baby.
- 2:21:49Speaker 3: My mom fixed her dryer on YouTube university.
- 2:21:52Speaker 17: It's the best university and you don't have to pay
- 2:21:54Speaker 17: for it.
- 2:21:54Speaker 3: Exactly exactly.
- 2:21:56Speaker 2: Well, listen real quick before we go, what is your
- 2:21:58Speaker 2: dream Christmas game that if someone could put this dream
- 2:22:02Speaker 2: Christmas game in your stocking.
- 2:22:04Speaker 3: What game would that be?
- 2:22:05Speaker 17: I asked for Boulder Gates three because of him, because
- 2:22:07Speaker 17: I really want to play. It's a boulders Gate.
- 2:22:09Speaker 4: Three, So good.
- 2:22:10Speaker 7: Well, buddy, I'm hoping you get it me too. I'm
- 2:22:13Speaker 7: not buying it for you. I already used my company card.
- 2:22:15Speaker 3: I make sure that girlfriend gets it for you. Then
- 2:22:20Speaker 3: that's the goal.
- 2:22:21Speaker 17: That's what we're working for.
- 2:22:22Speaker 3: She's listening you. Make sure you get that game.
- 2:22:24Speaker 7: And your birthday coming up. It's a big one. And
- 2:22:27Speaker 7: I know you're playing in a Vegas trip. When is
- 2:22:30Speaker 7: your birthday?
- 2:22:31Speaker 17: February tenth. I had to delay the Vegas trip because
- 2:22:34Speaker 17: of the Magic. The schedule it intervenes.
- 2:22:37Speaker 3: He's turning twenty one time.
- 2:22:38Speaker 5: I got that.
- 2:22:41Speaker 10: Vegas.
- 2:22:41Speaker 7: He works on the sports station and also works with
- 2:22:45Speaker 7: the pregame for the Orlando Magic.
- 2:22:47Speaker 19: Sure.
- 2:22:48Speaker 8: Yeah, so you're kind of now married to their schedule.
- 2:22:51Speaker 17: Yes, it is a demanding schedule. Let me tell you,
- 2:22:53Speaker 17: I have so much respect for these basketball guys with

- 2:23:10Speaker 3: and his mom say keep the public shop exactly, buy stock,
- 2:23:15Speaker 3: keep the public shop.
- 2:23:16Speaker 17: Before he gave me the spot on this little segment,
- 2:23:18Speaker 17: he was like, you got to keep the public shopping.

- 2:25:31Speaker 5: I hear great things about Bob Costas. So I hear
- 2:25:33Speaker 5: he's a great guy.
- 2:25:34Speaker 8: I hear I've always heard good things about him.

- 2:27:23Speaker 2: in Orlando. Thirty two year old Kevin Zavala died in
- 2:27:26Speaker 2: September after riding the Stardust Racers coaster, and his death
- 2:27:30Speaker 2: has been ruled accidental. Now in an incident report, investigators
- 2:27:34Speaker 2: say Savalla suffered multiple blunt impact injuries, and that means
- 2:27:38Speaker 2: the case is now closed.
- 2:27:40Speaker 3: So I don't know how his family's going to move
- 2:27:42Speaker 3: forward from that, all right.
- 2:27:44Speaker 2: Sometimes you just don't want to do the social media
- 2:27:47Speaker 2: stunt AKA this guy, a South Florida man is accused
