- 0:00Speaker 1: The following program is produced by the tech Talk Radio Network. Hi,
- 0:03Speaker 1: this is Adrian Barbo. You're listening to tech Talk Radio
- 0:06Speaker 1: and you're gonna learn a lot. Welcome to another episode
- 0:11Speaker 1: of tech Talk Radio. I'm and Dey Taylor.
- 0:13Speaker 2: I'm sure weird and I'm justin Let me welcome. It's
- 0:16Speaker 2: been NonStop events at work. This big world event happened,
- 0:19Speaker 2: you know where the pope died. Yeah, that kind of
- 0:22Speaker 2: strets and things up at work and uh yeah, so
- 0:25Speaker 2: the graduations coming up and her name days is coming up,
- 0:30Speaker 2: so we're just busy.
- 0:31Speaker 1: When does so when does the university system take off
- 0:34Speaker 1: for summer?
- 0:35Speaker 3: Do they?
- 0:35Speaker 1: They did do summer breaks, right, they're eventually yea, our.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Graduation is May fifteenth, and then we have some high
- 0:42Speaker 2: school graduations after that that we're doing in our venues.
- 0:45Speaker 2: And then usually it's like the second week of June
- 0:48Speaker 2: and then it slows down until the third week of August.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Do they give you a list of all the stuff
- 0:53Speaker 1: that you couldn't get to before the break and that?
- 0:55Speaker 2: Oh yeah, my boss has a list my arm it's
- 0:58Speaker 2: like my arm's length of here's what we want to
- 1:01Speaker 2: accomplish this summer. We didn't do last summer or the
- 1:03Speaker 2: summer before that, or the summer before that.
- 1:06Speaker 4: So let's get to it.
- 1:07Speaker 3: As an IT manager, I know exactly what you're talking about. Yeah,
- 1:10Speaker 3: you do.
- 1:10Speaker 1: You have to how do you prioritize justin like when
- 1:13Speaker 1: you get like work orders and you get trouble tickets
- 1:16Speaker 1: or whatever at the park, how do you prioritize Okay,
- 1:19Speaker 1: we're gonna get to this one today.
- 1:20Speaker 3: It works differently, right, I mean, yeah, depends on what
- 1:23Speaker 3: kind of industry you're in. I mean, you know, obviously
- 1:25Speaker 3: Sean is in the education industry. I'm in the entertainment industry,
- 1:31Speaker 3: you know, working at a water park and everything. So
- 1:33Speaker 3: I would say you prioritize money loss as the top priority.
- 1:38Speaker 3: So if you've got a point of sale that's down
- 1:41Speaker 3: that's preventing you from making money, that is the number
- 1:43Speaker 3: one priority is get that machine back online so you
- 1:45Speaker 3: can make money. But then, you know, when it comes
- 1:47Speaker 3: to like the off season, it's it's kind of more
- 1:50Speaker 3: of like the bigger projects, you know, and I prioritize
- 1:54Speaker 3: the bigger projects based on my budget. Yeah, I mean
- 1:57Speaker 3: how much money can I get? How much money am
- 1:59Speaker 3: I allowed to have for this next year. I present
- 2:02Speaker 3: my ideas to the board of directors and I say, look,
- 2:06Speaker 3: this is what I want to do this next year,
- 2:07Speaker 3: and they say yay or nay, right, And that's just
- 2:10Speaker 3: kind of how it works.
- 2:11Speaker 1: I'm kind of wondering how a lot of people are
- 2:13Speaker 1: working the whole Windows you know, ten to eleven update
- 2:17Speaker 1: and maybe not being able to update. You know, how
- 2:20Speaker 1: are they kind of putting in for all, Right, we
- 2:23Speaker 1: got to buy X amount of systems, We've got to
- 2:25Speaker 1: buy brand new computers. We've got to buy to this
- 2:28Speaker 1: to operate. And will the bosses understand what's being talked about?
- 2:34Speaker 3: Yeah, that's the hard part is making sure that you
- 2:38Speaker 3: can somehow make it clear to the bosses that this
- 2:42Speaker 3: is what needs to be done, this is what we
- 2:43Speaker 3: want to do, you know, this is what needs to
- 2:46Speaker 3: be done versus what wants to be done. That's the
- 2:48Speaker 3: hard part. And you know, and and that kind of
- 2:51Speaker 3: like recently, that's where I've been using AI. I'll go
- 2:54Speaker 3: to groc you know, which is from you know, x XAI,
- 2:58Speaker 3: and I'll be like, look, you know, I want to
- 3:01Speaker 3: present this idea to the bosses and and I'll describe
- 3:07Speaker 3: I'll be like this is what I want to do,
- 3:08Speaker 3: and I'll say it in like geek terms. I'd be like, well,
- 3:11Speaker 3: I want to upgrade the ethernet on the on this
- 3:13Speaker 3: and blah blah. I mean, I'll just use all these
- 3:15Speaker 3: you know, tech terms, and I say, dumb it down
- 3:17Speaker 3: for me, and not in a disrespectful way, but dumb
- 3:20Speaker 3: it down to the point where somebody who's non technical
- 3:24Speaker 3: can understand the implications of allowing this project to move
- 3:29Speaker 3: forward versus not, and it'll write me a very nice presentation.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I've always thought grock and now this is where you get.
- 3:37Speaker 1: We talked about GROC a couple of weeks ago. I
- 3:39Speaker 1: always thought it was really like just on on X,
- 3:43Speaker 1: that you would just use it on X. You actually
- 3:45Speaker 1: can use it for creating documents and doing other things
- 3:48Speaker 1: as well.
- 3:48Speaker 3: It's it's it's its own, it's its own website. I mean,
- 3:51Speaker 3: it's it's uh, yeah, you don't have to use it
- 3:53Speaker 3: within X. You can subscribe to grock without having to
- 3:56Speaker 3: subscribe to X. But here's the thing, a little secret.
- 3:59Speaker 3: If you subscribe to X with the I don't know
- 4:04Speaker 3: what they call it, X plus with the with the
- 4:07Speaker 3: blue badge, it's like eight dollars a month. You get
- 4:10Speaker 3: access to groc full access for the whole full access,
- 4:13Speaker 3: but if you subscribe to Groc on its own, it's
- 4:16Speaker 3: twenty bucks a month. Yeah, I hate right, So you
- 4:20Speaker 3: kind of like, okay, okay, fine, I'll get the blue
- 4:22Speaker 3: check mark on Twitter or whatever X. I'll get the
- 4:25Speaker 3: blue check mark and then I get access to Rock. Now.
- 4:28Speaker 3: What we've done recently though, is I was able to
- 4:31Speaker 3: convince my boss to say, look, we use GROC a lot.
- 4:34Speaker 3: I use Groc a lot, and I know that other
- 4:36Speaker 3: people do. Let me sign up for a super rock account.
- 4:41Speaker 3: And that is three hundred dollars a year. Oh wow,
- 4:43Speaker 3: all right, and you get access to the top of
- 4:46Speaker 3: the line models that they have offered. And I basically
- 4:50Speaker 3: what I did was I paid the three hundred dollars
- 4:53Speaker 3: and I use it for work. But I've given my
- 4:58Speaker 3: login information to very people throughout our company to say, hey, look,
- 5:03Speaker 3: if you need it, if you need help with writing
- 5:06Speaker 3: a job description or a press release or whatever you
- 5:11Speaker 3: might want it, a sales pitch, whatever, here's my credentials
- 5:15Speaker 3: log in and you can use grock super Grock to
- 5:18Speaker 3: help you write it. And so far, a lot of
- 5:20Speaker 3: people have actually been using it for that purpose and
- 5:24Speaker 3: it's great.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I've been having a lot of fun with It's still
- 5:28Speaker 1: chat TPT, and I know you use chat TPT for
- 5:32Speaker 1: a little bit. Do you find GROC to be a
- 5:34Speaker 1: little more powerful than chat jib?
- 5:36Speaker 3: Absolutely? Yeah, absolutely, grock is the smartest one I've ever used. Now,
- 5:40Speaker 3: I haven't used the latest model of CHATTYPT because again,
- 5:43Speaker 3: I'm not going to subscribe. I'm not going to pay
- 5:46Speaker 3: the thirty bucks a month or whatever it is for
- 5:48Speaker 3: their latest model. But I can tell you that when
- 5:50Speaker 3: I use chat GPT, there was always a knowledge based
- 5:53Speaker 3: cutoff where it would say, well, I don't know what's
- 5:56Speaker 3: happening now, because my knowledge cutoff is September of twenty
- 6:01Speaker 3: twenty two. Now, oh, GROC is like screw it, man,
- 6:05Speaker 3: let's do it. And they'll go and they'll they'll show
- 6:07Speaker 3: you like real time scores, Like I can be like,
- 6:09Speaker 3: what's the score of the Colorado Dallas game? Right now?
- 6:12Speaker 3: Let's actually play and as we're recording this show, and
- 6:15Speaker 3: it will tell me what the score is. That's pretty amazing.
- 6:18Speaker 1: That is good, because yeah, that that has been one
- 6:20Speaker 1: thing that slowed people down that you really didn't have
- 6:22Speaker 1: the most up to date research.
- 6:24Speaker 3: Maybe with chat DPT.
- 6:26Speaker 1: If GROC is able to give that to you real time,
- 6:28Speaker 1: that's pretty good.
- 6:29Speaker 3: One of the cool features that I really like about
- 6:31Speaker 3: grock is the think mode, right, and what this allows
- 6:34Speaker 3: it to do is GROC will actually talk to itself
- 6:37Speaker 3: and it will think its way through your question. So
- 6:40Speaker 3: let's say I'm like, oh, write me some code, some
- 6:43Speaker 3: Python code about how to build a bot that can
- 6:49Speaker 3: I don't know, go and like tech talk radio on
- 6:53Speaker 3: YouTube a bunch of times, right, right, So it'll be like, okay,
- 6:56Speaker 3: so the person wants to create a code, let me
- 6:58Speaker 3: think about this. Now the code has to be thumb,
- 7:00Speaker 3: but the Python code has to be this, and then okay, well,
- 7:02Speaker 3: YouTube algorithm says this. Okay. Well, YouTube's algorithm says, wants
- 7:06Speaker 3: to do this. We have to determine where does the
- 7:07Speaker 3: mousepapes that happen when the mouse people that happened. This okay,
- 7:10Speaker 3: So then we have to say you like it, and
- 7:11Speaker 3: then we have to go okay, now you have to
- 7:13Speaker 3: wait five seconds and then we have and it like
- 7:14Speaker 3: it literally will think to itself and then it we'll
- 7:18Speaker 3: go okay, here's your code, boom and it. We'll spit
- 7:20Speaker 3: it out now. Does it do like with chat TPT.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I've been having fun with this creating graphics for another
- 7:27Speaker 1: show that I produced, and it started creating a graphic
- 7:30Speaker 1: and it gave me the same character, which was kind
- 7:32Speaker 1: of cool.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Does GROC do that same type of thing? I haven't
- 7:37Speaker 3: tried making making images with GROCK. I have been on
- 7:41Speaker 3: that whole bandwagon with chat GPT where we do the
- 7:44Speaker 3: studio GHIBLI pictures where that was converted. Yeah, those are
- 7:48Speaker 3: those are really cool. But I don't know. But like,
- 7:51Speaker 3: let me try something quick. I'm on GROC right now,
- 7:53Speaker 3: So watch this. Tell me everything you know about Andy
- 8:00Speaker 3: Taylor of Tucson. Oh, great, Arizona. Okay, that's all I'm
- 8:05Speaker 3: gonna say. All right, Okay, all right, here we go searching.
- 8:09Speaker 3: I'm not going to thinking there are multiple individuals named
- 8:12Speaker 3: Andy Taylor as sociated Tucson based on available information. Okay,

- 9:11Speaker 3: It says your home is worth blah blah blah with
- 9:13Speaker 3: blah blah square feet, three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Contact information,
- 9:18Speaker 3: here's your phone number? Is my phone number on there,
- 9:21Speaker 3: and it says your interests enjoys spending time with family,
- 9:24Speaker 3: exploring technology news, and browsing adult websites. No, we does.
- 9:31Speaker 4: It does?
- 9:32Speaker 1: Now?
- 9:33Speaker 3: Great? No, no, but really it really does mention a
- 9:38Speaker 3: lot of information about you.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that is really that is really crazy, and that's
- 9:42Speaker 1: public information that's available, and it just.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Pulled up like seventeen different people named Andy Taylor and
- 9:48Speaker 3: actually a lot of them. Are you just various versions
- 9:51Speaker 3: of you?
- 9:52Speaker 1: Just that's a trip, Yeah, from all different many profiles
- 9:55Speaker 1: that have been there.
- 9:55Speaker 3: One here that actually talks about all your previous addresses.
- 9:59Speaker 1: That is crazy, all the way back to California and everything.
- 10:03Speaker 1: That's that's just nuts. To talk about Walker working at Disneyland.
- 10:08Speaker 3: You know about that? About that one, yeah, yeah, but
- 10:10Speaker 3: that's it's pretty funny. This is wow. This is the
- 10:12Speaker 3: kind of information you can pull just from a very
- 10:14Speaker 3: quick five second search on rock.
- 10:16Speaker 1: You know, I've always told people at some point you
- 10:18Speaker 1: need to google yourself. Find out what information is out
- 10:21Speaker 1: there about yourself that can actually help protect you in
- 10:24Speaker 1: case somebody is trying to, you know, do a fishing,
- 10:28Speaker 1: fishing ploy on you. So you know what info is
- 10:30Speaker 1: out there, and you know that is important. And I mean,
- 10:34Speaker 1: I get the phone calls, let's refinance your mortgage, you
- 10:37Speaker 1: know that kind of thing.
- 10:38Speaker 3: What is the what is the city you live in?
- 10:40Speaker 3: South Bend?
- 10:41Speaker 1: Yeah, Sean, there you go. Let's see what it says

- 11:36Speaker 3: Yeah yeah, I mean, but seriously, this is what it
- 11:38Speaker 3: just finds. And it found all of your channels Vimeo, YouTube, Twitter, Twitch, Instagram,

- 12:26Speaker 1: So, and it's eight bucks a month for the full access.
- 12:29Speaker 1: Can you trial the groc so you can?
- 12:32Speaker 3: I'm not sure. I wonder if they have a try

- 12:41Speaker 3: not premium plus, and then yeah, go to grock dot com. Wow.
- 12:46Speaker 1: I know that Facebook has been trying lately to really
- 12:49Speaker 1: get people to pay the money to get the check mark.
- 12:53Speaker 1: They've been doing that to get the maid of Mark,
- 12:55Speaker 1: and you know, it's just like I just never found
- 12:58Speaker 1: the need to do that. But again, you know, I
- 13:02Speaker 1: just kind of wonder if now blue Sky doesn't have
- 13:04Speaker 1: a did they know they have a check mark now
- 13:06Speaker 1: as well? That they're doing some kind of system I
- 13:09Speaker 1: never used.
- 13:09Speaker 3: I never actually used a Blue Sky.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it's okay, I mean it's it's I'm connected with
- 13:16Speaker 1: a few people there.
- 13:16Speaker 3: What this is interesting? I searched myself. Yeah, all right,
- 13:19Speaker 3: what did what did it kind of with? Well, it
- 13:21Speaker 3: says I'm a I'm a broadcast engineer. It professional coast
- 13:24Speaker 3: of tech Talk Radio. Oh, there you go. So I'm
- 13:26Speaker 3: a based in Denver, Colorado. But it says my current
- 13:29Speaker 3: role is a broadcast engineer and it professional for a
- 13:31Speaker 3: broadcast media group in Denver. Because I haven't I never
- 13:35Speaker 3: updated my other socials. Oh that I don't that I
- 13:38Speaker 3: don't work for you used to work for that tribune. Yeah,
- 13:41Speaker 3: because it says a co producer and show host for
- 13:44Speaker 3: tech Talk Radio and then it talks about history. I
- 13:47Speaker 3: left Tech Talk Radio in October of two thousand and
- 13:50Speaker 3: three to serve in the US Navy. Right because it's
- 13:52Speaker 3: pulling that from our blog. Wow. Oh, notable projects. I've
- 13:57Speaker 3: worked on media projects for water World, recording messages for attendees.
- 14:03Speaker 3: How does it call that?
- 14:03Speaker 1: How does this pick that up? Does it listen to
- 14:05Speaker 1: the shows?
- 14:06Speaker 3: It?
- 14:07Speaker 4: We definitely have talked about that on the show.
- 14:09Speaker 3: Yeah, and it says he also expressed excitement about the
- 14:12Speaker 3: reopening of Casa Beanina. That was one of our show.
- 14:16Speaker 3: That was one of our shows. I remember that voiceover work.
- 14:20Speaker 3: Justin has experience in voiceover acting, referencing a YouTube video
- 14:24Speaker 3: five Guys in a Limo, which showcases top voiceover actors.
- 14:28Speaker 1: See that was recent. That was seriously that like within
- 14:31Speaker 1: the last month.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I was Oh past Roles, government contractor, BMW Carr salesman
- 14:37Speaker 3: and AOL call center. Yeah you did that, didn't you.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I did all of this.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Oh man, that's hilarious.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Now does it mention me?
- 14:45Speaker 1: So?
- 14:46Speaker 3: Does it mention anything else? It doesn't mention that. It
- 14:49Speaker 3: mentioned that I was in the Navy. Actually, hold on it,
- 14:51Speaker 3: says uh. Family a son named Eric, for who he
- 14:56Speaker 3: purchased an Acer Predator gaming laptop. Three weeks. We just
- 15:00Speaker 3: talked about Custodio parental control software to monitor Eric's online activity.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Did you put this on the blog? Yeah, it's up,
- 15:08Speaker 1: it's up there. Well, we talked about we talked about
- 15:11Speaker 1: that on the show.
- 15:12Speaker 3: Okay, well, I know we talked about on the show,
- 15:14Speaker 3: but I didn't know if you actually like put it
- 15:16Speaker 3: on the blog in text for may I think I did.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yeah, because it's Mitches Custodio is it?
- 15:21Speaker 3: Just?
- 15:22Speaker 1: You know?
- 15:22Speaker 3: Justin was the expressed interest in visiting Super Mario World
- 15:25Speaker 3: in Japan and discussed travel like logistics, including flying during
- 15:29Speaker 3: the pandemic and first class experiences. You know what we
- 15:32Speaker 3: gotta do.
- 15:32Speaker 1: We gotta do this in Selwoudita at one of the
- 15:35Speaker 1: fairs that we do, whether it be a fiesta Cela,
- 15:38Speaker 1: set up and do searches for people and find out
- 15:41Speaker 1: what we know about them that.
- 15:43Speaker 3: Oh my god, dude, seriously, like can you imagine this?
- 15:47Speaker 3: Like you meet somebody at a coffee shop or a
- 15:49Speaker 3: nightclub or whatever, and you're like, hey, what's your name?
- 15:51Speaker 3: Where are you from? That's all you got to ask them,
- 15:54Speaker 3: And then bam, you turn to groc and you start
- 15:55Speaker 3: typing in tell me what you know about this person
- 15:57Speaker 3: from this area, and it's gonna be like boom, here
- 16:00Speaker 3: you go. And then you can be like, oh, weren't
- 16:01Speaker 3: you the one that was in that that play at
- 16:04Speaker 3: the local theater And they'll be like how did you
- 16:06Speaker 3: know that? And be like, oh, I just I just
- 16:08Speaker 3: know things. Think about it.
- 16:09Speaker 1: This can be a tool for and again this is
- 16:11Speaker 1: why people need to be you have your your guard up.
- 16:14Speaker 1: This could be a tool for fishers people because like
- 16:18Speaker 1: I play.
- 16:19Speaker 3: What I'm leading towards. This goes back to those famous
- 16:22Speaker 3: like Facebook, Instagram pipe posts where it's like this fake
- 16:26Speaker 3: radio station that'll post, you know, social media, it'll say
- 16:30Speaker 3: I bet you don't remember what street you grew up on,
- 16:34Speaker 3: and it's like people are like, oh, yeah, I grew
- 16:36Speaker 3: up on on on Boulevard Lane or whatever, and it's like,
- 16:40Speaker 3: don't give that information away. First off, that's not even
- 16:45Speaker 3: a real real radio station. And second off, what you're
- 16:49Speaker 3: doing is you're just literally giving people your personal information.
- 16:52Speaker 3: And then the next question is going to be, oh,
- 16:54Speaker 3: I butt you care trouble? What your parents made in names? What? What?
- 16:59Speaker 4: What is?
- 16:59Speaker 3: What's your last for your Social Security number? I remember
- 17:02Speaker 3: you can't tell? How about this one?
- 17:03Speaker 1: Do you remember your first phone number? The legally whether
- 17:06Speaker 1: or not that can lead to a name search that
- 17:09Speaker 1: shows up properties. It's pretty amazing when somebody does the
- 17:12Speaker 1: search like that, it can actually show where you've lived
- 17:15Speaker 1: in the past. All that information is out there, so
- 17:18Speaker 1: you've got to be really careful. You know, we got
- 17:20Speaker 1: our scam squad trying to remind people out here, don't
- 17:23Speaker 1: do this, don't do that.
- 17:24Speaker 3: Somebody comes up.
- 17:25Speaker 1: And they seem like you're best friend online. Even if
- 17:27Speaker 1: they are your friend, you don't have to give out
- 17:29Speaker 1: any information, joke around with them if you have to,
- 17:32Speaker 1: or just don't even connect with them.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Well, you know, it's kind of funny you mentioned that
- 17:36Speaker 3: because we were gonna we were gonna probably you know,
- 17:38Speaker 3: migrate into this topic anyway. But you know, I recently
- 17:41Speaker 3: have been playing a lot more of a game called
- 17:44Speaker 3: Sea of Thieves on Yeahs you used to before I did.
- 17:48Speaker 4: I did.
- 17:48Speaker 3: It's been out since twenty eighteen, and I've been playing it.
- 17:50Speaker 3: But I needed somebody to play with. So they have
- 17:54Speaker 3: their official discord channel where you can just jump into
- 17:56Speaker 3: a random voice chat right and then you can, you know,
- 18:00Speaker 3: gather up players. And this guy just randomly joined me
- 18:03Speaker 3: and he was like, hey, you want to play, and
- 18:04Speaker 3: I'm like, yeah, sure, no problem. So I added him
- 18:06Speaker 3: as a friend on Xbox and we started playing, and
- 18:09Speaker 3: then I was like, oh, hey, your name's David and
- 18:12Speaker 3: he's like, wait, how do you know that. I'm like, well,
- 18:14Speaker 3: it actually says it right on there, like your name,
- 18:17Speaker 3: your real name is next to your gamer tag. And
- 18:20Speaker 3: he's like, oh my god, Oh my god, I don't
- 18:23Speaker 3: think I should be telling you that. I'm like, well, okay,
- 18:25Speaker 3: first off, calm down, I'm not a scammer. Okay, I'm
- 18:29Speaker 3: just telling you what I see. It's right there in
- 18:31Speaker 3: the gamer tag. And he's like, well, I'm only fifteen
- 18:35Speaker 3: years old. And I'm like, okay, I get it. I understand.
- 18:39Speaker 3: Don't worry about like I'm not here to mess with
- 18:42Speaker 3: you or whatever. And actually we become friends. Like this
- 18:44Speaker 3: kid fifteen years old, he lives somewhere in Canada. He's
- 18:47Speaker 3: a kind of like a friend of mine. Now. We
- 18:48Speaker 3: played see if these all the time. But it's just
- 18:51Speaker 3: even that simple bit of information, like when he created
- 18:55Speaker 3: his Xbox gamer tag, he left the option checked to
- 18:58Speaker 3: show real name and he's like, I can't get I
- 19:01Speaker 3: can't change it now because my sister owns the Xbox
- 19:05Speaker 3: account and I can't get in and do it. I
- 19:07Speaker 3: was like, well, just talk to your sister. He's like,
- 19:09Speaker 3: I don't talk to my sister. Anymore, and I was like, oh,
- 19:11Speaker 3: that's gonna be.
- 19:12Speaker 1: A problem, and that could take away his being able
- 19:14Speaker 1: to play see if thieves exactly.
- 19:16Speaker 3: So yeah, he's like, yeah, well now you know my
- 19:18Speaker 3: real name. And I'm like, okay, yeah, whatever it's but
- 19:20Speaker 3: it goes back to your thing. It's like, even as
- 19:22Speaker 3: something the simple at playing a video game with somebody,
- 19:25Speaker 3: people are going to know what your gamer tag is
- 19:27Speaker 3: and then they're going to figure out they can connect
- 19:29Speaker 3: the dots.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Right well, I'll tell you you know, when we had
- 19:33Speaker 1: t Tanya Jordan on she was on the show a
- 19:35Speaker 1: few weeks back, she mentioned the one of the most
- 19:37Speaker 1: dangerous is snampchat and she talked about the location thing
- 19:42Speaker 1: on that. Well, wudn't you know as somebody had posted
- 19:45Speaker 1: something on snap and I'm on snamp and I gave
- 19:48Speaker 1: it a like and then that person sees that, oh
- 19:50Speaker 1: somebody liked it, and they sent me a message saying
- 19:54Speaker 1: do I know you? And I said, I said no,
- 19:56Speaker 1: I just liked your image, and I said, you know.
- 19:59Speaker 3: I in Tucson.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I'm a techie, and just left it like that she
- 20:05Speaker 1: was in Tucson as well, that I do know. Right Well,
- 20:09Speaker 1: then I went who is this person? I went to
- 20:11Speaker 1: go look and she had a location turned on. Here's
- 20:14Speaker 1: the thing you have, kids, you're on it yourself. Turn
- 20:18Speaker 1: off your location because what it does is it tells
- 20:22Speaker 1: everybody where you live, when you're home, when you're not home,
- 20:27Speaker 1: and when you were at work. And when I saw it,
- 20:29Speaker 1: I saw that her location was turned on. Mine's turned off,
- 20:32Speaker 1: but her location was turned on, and it was showing
- 20:34Speaker 1: exactly where she was, she was at work and exactly
- 20:38Speaker 1: at where she worked. And I'm thinking, if you know,
- 20:40Speaker 1: if I was a weirdo, if I was a stocker,
- 20:42Speaker 1: I could show up at her work and that's the
- 20:45Speaker 1: whole thing. So I said, listen, I would recommend on
- 20:48Speaker 1: your snapchat. Since you're fairly new, she had only said,
- 20:51Speaker 1: had about three hundred messages that had gone in and out.
- 20:54Speaker 1: I said, I would go ahead and turn off your
- 20:55Speaker 1: location services. If you go in your settings, turn it off.
- 20:58Speaker 1: Otherwise people are going to know exactly where you're at,
- 21:01Speaker 1: where you're working at.
- 21:02Speaker 3: So I don't know if she did.
- 21:03Speaker 1: I don't know if she ever did, because I haven't
- 21:05Speaker 1: seen her post in quite a while.
- 21:07Speaker 3: But that could be real dangerous. He just blocked. He
- 21:10Speaker 3: was like creeper and the creeper. I mean, honestly, that's all.
- 21:16Speaker 3: She's a young person. Don't try to keep She's like,
- 21:19Speaker 3: oh my god, is creepy old guy's telling me that
- 21:21Speaker 3: he knows where I'm at. I'm gonna block.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Where did you get creepy old guy? This lady was
- 21:25Speaker 1: in her thirties. Where do you get creepy old guy from?
- 21:28Speaker 3: Thanks a lot, somebody. I mean, I'm just saying, I
- 21:31Speaker 3: mean anybody that's older any look, I get the creepy
- 21:35Speaker 3: old guy.
- 21:36Speaker 4: Okay.
- 21:36Speaker 3: I worked with a bunch of like sixteen and eighteen
- 21:38Speaker 3: year olds. Okay, I'm the creepy old guy.
- 21:41Speaker 1: I used to catch flak for this from my last
- 21:44Speaker 1: morning show co host when somebody would call in and
- 21:48Speaker 1: I'm not a creeper, but they would call and she
- 21:50Speaker 1: called me a creeper because of this. They would call
- 21:52Speaker 1: in and they would tell us her name to participate
- 21:55Speaker 1: in the contest or add something to the show.
- 21:57Speaker 3: What would I do?
- 21:58Speaker 1: Fire up Facebook and do a search to find that person?
- 22:02Speaker 4: And she had.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Dakota ended up saying, you know what, that is really creepy.
- 22:06Speaker 1: You got to stop doing that, And I go, no,
- 22:08Speaker 1: I want them to follow us. I want them to
- 22:09Speaker 1: follow the show. She said, no, you're just looking for yourself.
- 22:13Speaker 3: I go, no, I'm not so yeah, yeah, but I
- 22:16Speaker 3: mean this is this goes to show how easy it
- 22:18Speaker 3: is to pull people's information from social media or just
- 22:22Speaker 3: the Internet itself.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and again again, somebody could say, oh I knew
- 22:27Speaker 1: your dad, and then you know your dad's name or
- 22:29Speaker 1: your mom know your mom's name, So you gotta be rere.
- 22:31Speaker 3: It was really careful. There was this one time, and
- 22:33Speaker 3: I'll be honest with you, this is this is one time.
- 22:34Speaker 3: This is a long long time ago. I was playing
- 22:36Speaker 3: a game. I can't remember what game it was. It
- 22:38Speaker 3: was Rust Rust, and I was playing with this dude,
- 22:41Speaker 3: random dude I met within Rust and we became really
- 22:45Speaker 3: good friends. Like we were playing all the time, all
- 22:48Speaker 3: the time. And then one night we were just sitting around,
- 22:50Speaker 3: we were drinking a couple of beers together, and then
- 22:52Speaker 3: he was like, you're like where you live? And I'm like, oh,
- 22:56Speaker 3: you know, I was living. I live in Denver or
- 22:58Speaker 3: whatever I meanbe it was San Diego at the time,
- 22:59Speaker 3: I can't remember. And then I was like, where where
- 23:02Speaker 3: do you live? And he's like, oh, you never heard
- 23:04Speaker 3: of it. It was it's up in a it's a
- 23:07Speaker 3: cala math I think, mane whatever, which I don't know whatever,
- 23:11Speaker 3: and I was like, oh yeah. So immediately I'm like,
- 23:14Speaker 3: I'm like googling maps his city just because I just
- 23:17Speaker 3: wanted to see how far I can get with it.
- 23:19Speaker 3: Like I wasn't trying to do nothing nefarious. I just
- 23:21Speaker 3: wanted to see how far exactly. And I was like, oh, yeah,
- 23:23Speaker 3: I know that city, and he's like, well, what do
- 23:25Speaker 3: you know about it? And I just randomly picked out,
- 23:27Speaker 3: like oh, mom and Pops sandwich shop on the corner
- 23:30Speaker 3: of Third and seventh, Yeah, And I'm like I used
- 23:33Speaker 3: to go there all the time. And he's like, wait,
- 23:35Speaker 3: what you used to go here? And I'm like yeah, bro,
- 23:37Speaker 3: And I would go to their website. I would look
- 23:39Speaker 3: at the menu and I'm like, oh, I used to
- 23:40Speaker 3: order the ham and cheese. The ham and cheese is
- 23:42Speaker 3: so good. And he was like totally buying it, right.
- 23:45Speaker 3: He was like, oh yeah, I just I live off
- 23:48Speaker 3: of like, you know whatever. And I'm like, oh wait,
- 23:52Speaker 3: hold on, wait fifteenth And like as I'm saying this,
- 23:55Speaker 3: I'm pretending I'm thinking and I'm searching for that. Yeah,
- 23:58Speaker 3: And I'm like, I'm like a fifteenth in whatever street.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Like I'm just I'm I'm not even giving away information here.
- 24:03Speaker 3: I'm just to like totally randomly saying stuff. I'm like, oh,
- 24:06Speaker 3: fifteenth in Maine. Oh yeah. Oh wait, hold up, are
- 24:08Speaker 3: you like at the third house on the left, the
- 24:11Speaker 3: white one, because I'm looking at street view and he's
- 24:13Speaker 3: like no, no, I'm the green one next door. I'm like, wait,
- 24:16Speaker 3: hold up, dude, my friend lived like down the street
- 24:19Speaker 3: from you. And he's like, wait, what's your friend's name?
- 24:21Speaker 3: And I quickly like search a friend, you know, like
- 24:23Speaker 3: people like you, and the guy was buying it. This
- 24:26Speaker 3: is how easy it is to become a scammer.
- 24:27Speaker 1: Yeah, it really is. Wow, it's about all about information.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Over there.
- 24:34Speaker 4: It's just I'm just most things good time.
- 24:36Speaker 2: It's like it's it's it's like the confidence walk, right
- 24:38Speaker 2: when I worked in news and you could get anywhere
- 24:42Speaker 2: just by looking like you blonde, that's so true, and
- 24:45Speaker 2: acting like you knew what was going on. Same thing
- 24:47Speaker 2: social engineering, Like they're like, oh he knows what's going on.
- 24:50Speaker 2: I'm not gonna bother him.
- 24:50Speaker 4: It's the same thing. It's like, oh, you know all
- 24:52Speaker 4: this stuff about me, it must be legit.
- 24:54Speaker 2: Well, that's been one of the ways I feel like
- 24:55Speaker 2: I could just spend two seconds and search for it
- 24:57Speaker 2: on the internet.
- 24:58Speaker 1: That's been one of the ways that people have been
- 25:00Speaker 1: able to break networks and be able to get in
- 25:02Speaker 1: to a company they want to get into their internal network. Yeah, Midnick,
- 25:06Speaker 1: you know, talked about that walking in and actually like
- 25:09Speaker 1: you know what you're doing, and some people will just
- 25:11Speaker 1: be like, oh yeah, yeah, come on in and you're in.
- 25:14Speaker 1: You can find an office that's empty, you I mean,
- 25:16Speaker 1: as Spielberg could set up an office at Universal Studios
- 25:20Speaker 1: and with a name plate and everything, and that was
- 25:23Speaker 1: back in what the seventies. Imagine now somebody just walks in,
- 25:27Speaker 1: sets up an office, uh, plugs into the network, and
- 25:30Speaker 1: they can right away get all kinds of information off
- 25:33Speaker 1: of it. That is one way that people will use
- 25:36Speaker 1: to break into a system.
- 25:37Speaker 3: Social engineering. That's that's still the best way to do it.
- 25:39Speaker 3: Last year, when we had some summer interns that worked
- 25:43Speaker 3: for us, Yeah, one of the things I did with
- 25:45Speaker 3: the summer intern is the guy that nobody knew who
- 25:47Speaker 3: he was, I gave him a fake Horizon vest and
- 25:50Speaker 3: a fake for Rizon badge yep, and a helmet you know,
- 25:53Speaker 3: and and a briefcase with some fake work orders. And
- 25:56Speaker 3: I told him, I said, I want you to visit
- 25:58Speaker 3: every one of our properties. Our golf course, our mini
- 26:01Speaker 3: golf course, our ice center, our fitness center, our sports center.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I want you to walk in there and I want
- 26:06Speaker 3: you to tell them that you're here to install Internet
- 26:09Speaker 3: circuit great, and I want you to show them the
- 26:11Speaker 3: fake work order, and I want you to let me
- 26:13Speaker 3: know if they give you access to the IT room.
- 26:17Speaker 3: And every single property except for one. Succeeded in saying
- 26:22Speaker 3: get out of here. Wow, amazing.
- 26:25Speaker 1: All right, listen, we got to take a break. We
- 26:27Speaker 1: come back with more of tech Talk Radio Radio. Kudos
- 26:30Speaker 1: to one of our members of the show. We haven't
- 26:33Speaker 1: talked to her for a while, but we'll tell you
- 26:34Speaker 1: about that. I'm Andy the Creeper.
- 26:36Speaker 2: I'm Sean about to go install Verizon Internet and one
- 26:40Speaker 2: of Justin's properties.
- 26:42Speaker 3: And I'm Justin. Let me the old guy. Tech talk
- 26:45Speaker 3: Radio can find us on the web tech talk radio
- 26:47Speaker 3: dot com. We'll be right back and now back to
- 26:50Speaker 3: tech talk Radio. So before the break, we were talking
- 26:53Speaker 3: about that, I've been kind of like playing this game again,
- 26:56Speaker 3: and I'm kind of the gamer geek, and Sean, you're
- 27:00Speaker 3: obvious gamer geek thief. The game, Yeah, it's called c
- 27:04Speaker 3: I Thieves and it's a It's on Xbox Game Pass.
- 27:06Speaker 3: It's also actually on PlayStation as well, and it just
- 27:10Speaker 3: got released on battle dot Net. In case you don't
- 27:13Speaker 3: have Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation, you can get it
- 27:17Speaker 3: on Battle neet, which is Blizzards. But it's basically a
- 27:19Speaker 3: game where you get to become a pirate and the
- 27:22Speaker 3: graphics are very cartoonish, I guess you could say, but
- 27:25Speaker 3: the gameplay is definitely not. The gameplay is very much well,
- 27:30Speaker 3: I mean, you can anybody can really play. I think.
- 27:33Speaker 3: I don't know, Sean, what's the rating E for everyone?
- 27:35Speaker 3: Or is it mature? I don't remember, but I.
- 27:37Speaker 4: Mean it's it's no gore.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Yeah, there's no gore, but yeah, but there's But there
- 27:42Speaker 3: is a multiplayer game, and it requires an Internet connection
- 27:45Speaker 3: and so therefore you are playing against real people, and uh,
- 27:48Speaker 3: those people can get a little vocal, if you know
- 27:51Speaker 3: what I mean. Oh wow. But what's fun about the
- 27:54Speaker 3: game is exactly that you can do whatever you want
- 27:58Speaker 3: in the game. If you want to just run commodities
- 28:00Speaker 3: like take rare gemstones from one port to another, you
- 28:04Speaker 3: can do that. If you want to go and dig
- 28:07Speaker 3: up gold treasure using maps like pirate maps.
- 28:10Speaker 2: Let's say you go do those bounties where you're like,
- 28:12Speaker 2: I'm gonna ship these treasures from point A to point B.
- 28:15Speaker 2: There are people that get quests to.
- 28:18Speaker 3: An except yeah, your gems from point A.
- 28:21Speaker 4: To point B. So it's like you're definitely playing it's
- 28:24Speaker 4: it's definitely a lot fun.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Do you have to have a killer machine to play this?
- 28:28Speaker 3: Umm, you have to have a decent gaming rig. I guess,
- 28:31Speaker 3: I mean I can play it on the Steam Deck,
- 28:34Speaker 3: but but it definitely is a Yeah, you can't have
- 28:39Speaker 3: just like a basic computer with integrated graphics. You need
- 28:41Speaker 3: a dedicated graphics card. But you definitely don't need a
- 28:44Speaker 3: top of the line rig. I mean the game was
- 28:46Speaker 3: released back in twenty eighteen, so you know, we're approaching
- 28:49Speaker 3: what's seven years on it. But it is an amazing game.
- 28:52Speaker 3: It's so much fun. It's called Cea of Thieves and
- 28:55Speaker 3: it's just a pirate game.
- 28:56Speaker 1: You've been getting back into this because you've been watching
- 29:00Speaker 1: somebody actually playing the game, which kind of changes the
- 29:02Speaker 1: whole experience, doesn't it.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Absolutely. Yeah. There's a guy that I've been watching a
- 29:06Speaker 3: lot on Twitch. He goes by hit bo TC and
- 29:10Speaker 3: I'm actually I'm trying to get him on the show.
- 29:12Speaker 3: I'm telling him because he was talking about one of
- 29:13Speaker 3: his streams. He's like, yeah, I want to get I
- 29:15Speaker 3: want to get famous someday. And I was like, hey,
- 29:17Speaker 3: why don't you come on Tech Talk Radio, will make
- 29:19Speaker 3: you famous overnight. You know, you know we're big time.
- 29:23Speaker 3: You know, we're big time. And he was like, oh,
- 29:25Speaker 3: you don't want to interview me, you know. I was like, no,
- 29:27Speaker 3: Actually I kind of do because remember back in the day,
- 29:30Speaker 3: we interviewed Riya's stream, we interviewed Darkness four two nine,
- 29:33Speaker 3: you know, these other streamers, and I kind of think like, Okay,
- 29:36Speaker 3: a lot has changed since we talked with those guys, right,
- 29:40Speaker 3: And I kind of want to understand how has things
- 29:42Speaker 3: changed for you, you know, since the pandemic, Like how
- 29:45Speaker 3: do you maintain your your audience? How do you maintain
- 29:49Speaker 3: your livelihood? Because this is what he does. I mean,
- 29:51Speaker 3: he's a father of four. I don't know what his
- 29:53Speaker 3: wife does, right, but he plays he plays video games
- 29:56Speaker 3: for a living.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Now that we're pretty much I'm going to say it's
- 29:59Speaker 1: over because I know somebody you just got about of COVID.
- 30:02Speaker 1: But now that the pandemic has pretty much done, does
- 30:07Speaker 1: how is that affected online gaming and people watching some
- 30:11Speaker 1: of the online gaming streams?
- 30:12Speaker 3: Has that gone down? I think a little bit. I
- 30:15Speaker 3: mean in a way. I mean I've seen other streamers
- 30:18Speaker 3: come and go, But at the same time, I see
- 30:21Speaker 3: all these new streamers popping up left and right. I mean,
- 30:23Speaker 3: these guys are you know, guys that are you know
- 30:25Speaker 3: on twitch? You know, and Twitch is really hard. Twitch
- 30:27Speaker 3: is like going into the wild wild West, man. I mean,
- 30:30Speaker 3: you're inundated with streamers that are you know, a thousand
- 30:33Speaker 3: different streamers playing the same game as you are. How
- 30:36Speaker 3: are you going to get featured right amongst these thousands
- 30:39Speaker 3: of people? But I actually tune into the guys that
- 30:42Speaker 3: have you know, ten people watching, fifteen people watching, maybe
- 30:46Speaker 3: five people watching. That's who I tune into. I don't
- 30:50Speaker 3: necessarily tune into the ones that are having thousands of
- 30:52Speaker 3: people watching. In them, You're never gonna get a chance
- 30:54Speaker 3: to talk to them because their chat is moving so fast,
- 30:57Speaker 3: because they're having so many people comment, and honestly, at
- 31:01Speaker 3: that point you're kind of gone into automatic mode where
- 31:03Speaker 3: you're just you're just playing the game making money. It's
- 31:05Speaker 3: the people that are having the less than let's say,
- 31:08Speaker 3: sub five hundred watching are the ones that are actually
- 31:11Speaker 3: going to pay attention to you as a viewer and say, hey, Andy,
- 31:15Speaker 3: how you doing today? Man? Thanks for watching. Appreciate it,
- 31:18Speaker 3: Thanks Sean, Thanks to the two dollars, Sean, I really
- 31:20Speaker 3: appreciate it. You know, you watch guys like Doctor Disrespect.
- 31:24Speaker 3: He ain't gonna call your name unless you donate at
- 31:26Speaker 3: least one thousand dollars or Ninja, Yeah, or Ninja. You
- 31:30Speaker 3: have to donate one thousand dollars for them to get
- 31:31Speaker 3: you to call your name out.
- 31:32Speaker 1: There are fewer count It's incredible. I mean, yeah, I know, sure,
- 31:36Speaker 1: sure it is. But I'm just wanting have you ever
- 31:39Speaker 1: streamed and had you know, a game on while you
- 31:42Speaker 1: were streaming?
- 31:42Speaker 3: Did you ever?
- 31:43Speaker 1: Cause I tried it with Mike's flight simulator and it
- 31:46Speaker 1: was like it was not good because my graphics just
- 31:48Speaker 1: started dying.
- 31:50Speaker 3: Well, first off, you picked the wrong You pick the
- 31:52Speaker 3: most boring game in the world to stream. Okay, yeah, no,
- 31:58Speaker 3: I did. I tried a couple of various games. Don't know, man,
- 32:00Speaker 3: it was it was right back in the beginning of
- 32:02Speaker 3: the pandemic and stuff, and I maybe had like two
- 32:06Speaker 3: three people watching, and like two of those are my
- 32:09Speaker 3: wife and my mom so and the third was probably
- 32:12Speaker 3: a bot trying to like get my information. Like so, yeah,
- 32:15Speaker 3: I would say, I don't think I've ever had an
- 32:18Speaker 3: actual real viewer.
- 32:20Speaker 4: I think it like five is the max I've had. Five.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, now what were you doing?
- 32:25Speaker 4: So I streamed a while back?
- 32:28Speaker 2: Like if I look back, I probably started streaming in
- 32:31Speaker 2: twenty eleven.
- 32:33Speaker 3: Oh wow, wow that long twelve.
- 32:35Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, but so I would stream on you.
- 32:40Speaker 1: Stream, oh yeah, or justin TV we were on those
- 32:46Speaker 1: yeah yeah yeah.
- 32:47Speaker 3: What was you stream? Did do you stream? What happened
- 32:49Speaker 3: to you stream? Brad? I'll tell you.
- 32:52Speaker 1: I'll tell you Brad Hunstable who started you stream? Uh
- 32:55Speaker 1: ended up selling it to IBM, and IBM took it
- 32:59Speaker 1: and basically it just shut it.
- 33:00Speaker 3: It just ended. But U stream was great.
- 33:03Speaker 1: We used to be on U stream and we had
- 33:05Speaker 1: so many we still have listeners that listen to the
- 33:07Speaker 1: show that used to watch us on U stream. But
- 33:09Speaker 1: we were Yeah, we were streaming from my garage in
- 33:11Speaker 1: the old house.
- 33:12Speaker 2: If I went back to look at what my first
- 33:14Speaker 2: stream was, it was when I was working for my
- 33:17Speaker 2: first time out of college, so this would have.
- 33:18Speaker 4: Been May two thousand and eight.
- 33:22Speaker 2: We started testing trying to stream the I worked for
- 33:29Speaker 2: a company that did a lot of the Archer Remax
- 33:31Speaker 2: stock car series. Now it's part of DASCAR. We would
- 33:34Speaker 2: stream a single camera to the web camera. I'd be
- 33:39Speaker 2: up on the press box just following the lead and
- 33:42Speaker 2: we would stream it to the web and use the
- 33:44Speaker 2: radio audio as our audio.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Wow, that's we would just do tech talk.
- 33:49Speaker 3: We would do the show. Slick was in on it.
- 33:52Speaker 1: You were you were still in the Navy, and that's
- 33:54Speaker 1: how we were using it.
- 33:55Speaker 3: So what game? What games were you playing, Sean.
- 33:58Speaker 4: Oh, it was world Craft? Okay, StarCraft.
- 34:01Speaker 2: I did some StarCraft stuff when I got into really
- 34:04Speaker 2: early in access into Heroes of the Storm, which is
- 34:07Speaker 2: another Blizzard game. I played a lot of that. I
- 34:09Speaker 2: streamed a ton of Overwatch when it was first out.
- 34:12Speaker 2: Kind of whatever I was playing, I would stream. If
- 34:14Speaker 2: you go to my YouTube page, you can it was
- 34:16Speaker 2: all streamed to my YouTube page. I used restream and
- 34:19Speaker 2: streamed by Twitch YouTube, uh Facebook, when I had it.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I have your YouTube page right here from groc Yeah
- 34:27Speaker 3: of course.
- 34:28Speaker 2: But if you go, if you go to my live pages,
- 34:30Speaker 2: you can go back and watch all of my Dungeon
- 34:32Speaker 2: Dragons live streams.
- 34:33Speaker 3: Oh wow, because because.
- 34:35Speaker 2: Twitch after inactivity for a while, it only archived so
- 34:39Speaker 2: many and they don't tell you. And then you go
- 34:41Speaker 2: back and you're like, I want to look at my
- 34:43Speaker 2: clips from three years ago, and then like to.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Con, I'm sorry, I have to say the number one
- 34:48Speaker 3: video that it popped up on your page, the weird
- 34:51Speaker 3: sizzle reel. Wait, what the heck does that mean? It's
- 34:54Speaker 3: so a.
- 34:55Speaker 2: Sizzle reel and Andy you can like it's reel in
- 34:58Speaker 2: the industry is just like your your hot clips, Like
- 35:01Speaker 2: it's like a collection of your hot clips from.
- 35:04Speaker 3: You know, this is actually kind of cool.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's it's it's like a demo reel, but it's
- 35:09Speaker 2: called a sizzle reel instead of a it's only a
- 35:11Speaker 2: couple of minutes.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Well, the thumbnail doesn't do a justice because it's like
- 35:14Speaker 3: you in a flight suit in a cockpit of an
- 35:16Speaker 3: airplane or something like that.
- 35:18Speaker 4: That's not yea, Well, I don't sure that. No, we did.
- 35:23Speaker 2: We did some stuff that that that thumbnail specifically is
- 35:26Speaker 2: from the Thunderbirds came and flew at the Field of
- 35:29Speaker 2: Flight in Battle Creek and we did a story with
- 35:31Speaker 2: them and they took one of our reports.
- 35:33Speaker 3: A famous video on here too.
- 35:35Speaker 1: Yes, your video has probably not because it kept getting
- 35:40Speaker 1: taken down because I didn't know the rights to it.
- 35:42Speaker 4: And oh but it's it's not in my sizzle reel
- 35:45Speaker 4: if that makes.
- 35:46Speaker 1: Sense, right, yeah it does. Oh that's so cool. All right, listen,
- 35:50Speaker 1: we got it. We got it. Take a break, but
- 35:52Speaker 1: we got to do a week shout out to Amanda.
- 35:55Speaker 1: You know Amanda from tech Talk Radio, one of our
- 35:57Speaker 1: one of our hosts. She's been a while, she's been
- 35:59Speaker 1: on because she is been embedded in education. She's been
- 36:03Speaker 1: named one of the top thirty it K through twelve
- 36:06Speaker 1: Influencers to Follow for this year. Pretty cool stuff she's
- 36:10Speaker 1: and the write up that she was given an ed
- 36:13Speaker 1: tech magazine. Was an instructional coach at Fontana Unified School
- 36:16Speaker 1: District in California. Amanda is a advocate for game based learning.
- 36:21Speaker 1: She also helped establish the esports team in her district
- 36:24Speaker 1: and is always looking for ways to promote impactful curriculum,
- 36:28Speaker 1: equitable opportunities, and student voices.
- 36:31Speaker 3: She's also a part time.
- 36:32Speaker 1: Co host on the tech talk radio show So One Influencer.
- 36:37Speaker 3: So big applause to Amanda. Good job, Amanda.
- 36:41Speaker 1: I talked to her and I said, you got to
- 36:42Speaker 1: come back on the show. She said she wants to.
- 36:44Speaker 1: So we're thinking maybe June show'll stop in and do
- 36:47Speaker 1: a show with us, because.
- 36:49Speaker 3: It has been a while. But yeah, very very cool.
- 36:51Speaker 1: And she's been one of those that was watching us
- 36:53Speaker 1: on U stream way back when and then we just
- 36:56Speaker 1: connected with her and you know, she ended up doing
- 36:59Speaker 1: the show.
- 36:59Speaker 3: With us, So that's very cool. Yeah, that's awesome. All Right,
- 37:01Speaker 3: we'll take another break on.
- 37:02Speaker 1: We will be back with more of tech Talk Radio.
- 37:04Speaker 1: I'm Andy the Creeper.
- 37:06Speaker 2: I'm Sean Instain Internet in Justin's locations, and I'm Justin
- 37:10Speaker 2: the old guy.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Find us on facebooks, the facebooks, dot com, Ford Slash
- 37:15Speaker 3: tech Talkers. Find us on my Space, Yes, find us
- 37:20Speaker 3: on Fortram. Now back to tech talk Radio. This is
- 37:23Speaker 3: Stephen right, you know listening to tech talk Radio.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Yeah, some alung that line.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess that was it.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Alright, let's go with it. I love it.
- 37:38Speaker 4: I'll say it anyway.
- 37:39Speaker 2: Alright, this is Stephen right, and you're listening to tech
- 37:42Speaker 2: Talk radio.
- 37:43Speaker 1: But you know I've already been saying that.
- 37:47Speaker 3: I love you, Steven killing Man.
- 37:50Speaker 4: All Right, we have a listener question from Dave Tucson.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Uh wait in Tucson, David Tucson.
- 37:59Speaker 4: Grammar is a for so I know that it's.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Tucson.
- 38:08Speaker 2: So this question of Dave is I have been wanting
- 38:10Speaker 2: to record video files off my over the air TV.
- 38:13Speaker 2: I know with the tv O this is possible, at
- 38:16Speaker 2: least it used to be where I could download the clip.
- 38:19Speaker 2: I don't want to have to get the cable. Is
- 38:20Speaker 2: there a solution that can allow me to record over
- 38:22Speaker 2: the air without this cable? So we talked about this
- 38:24Speaker 2: question during the break. I suggested something like win TV.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Oh my god, anybody remember what that is?
- 38:32Speaker 4: That?
- 38:33Speaker 3: Sean, your agent, your age is showing.
- 38:36Speaker 2: I had one growing up, and we recorded clips off
- 38:40Speaker 2: the TV. It was basically a p C I I
- 38:42Speaker 2: was even PC Express at that point, and I remember
- 38:44Speaker 2: what it was a GP but it was basically it
- 38:46Speaker 2: basically was an analog and tennant tuner that you could
- 38:49Speaker 2: plug into your your computer and you could record using
- 38:51Speaker 2: a media player or something.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Some of the companies Hog made one, and I also
- 38:56Speaker 1: had the I remembered this one, the a t I
- 38:59Speaker 1: all in Wonder which had a TV on it. Yeah
- 39:03Speaker 1: remember that one. Oh yeah, but yeah.
- 39:05Speaker 4: There were several PC Express cards. They still make some.
- 39:08Speaker 4: But Justin then said HD home Run, Yeah, that is
- 39:13Speaker 4: the product. You want to get. Plug it into the antenna.
- 39:16Speaker 2: You plug it into your computer network with a Cat
- 39:18Speaker 2: five cable or Cat six whatever, and you can then
- 39:22Speaker 2: navigate to it on your computer and record.
- 39:25Speaker 3: So so to expand upon that, the little HD home
- 39:28Speaker 3: Run is a very tiny little box. I mean, it's
- 39:30Speaker 3: probably the size of your hand. Okay, you're gonna plug
- 39:33Speaker 3: in your over the air antenna tuner into it. Now,
- 39:36Speaker 3: when you plug this device into your network, like just
- 39:39Speaker 3: plug it into your router or your switch whatever, you're
- 39:43Speaker 3: gonna have to find out there's instructions on it. It'll
- 39:45Speaker 3: tell you the instructions, but you basically have to figure
- 39:47Speaker 3: out what the IP address that it pulls from your network.
- 39:50Speaker 3: Let's say one nine, six eight dot zero dot fifteen, Okay, whatever,
- 39:55Speaker 3: You're gonna navigate to that website zero dot fifteen it's
- 39:59Speaker 3: gonna bring it to the HD home Run page. You're
- 40:02Speaker 3: gonna set it up, you're gonna tell it what ZIP
- 40:04Speaker 3: code you live in. It's going to download the data
- 40:07Speaker 3: for all the channels with the names and the guide.
- 40:10Speaker 1: The program You have to pay for the program guide.
- 40:12Speaker 3: Well some of them you do, so I don't know
- 40:15Speaker 3: how it works recently. I haven't used it in a
- 40:17Speaker 3: couple of years. I know there are some paid program guides.
- 40:20Speaker 3: I think I think the HD home Run will download
- 40:23Speaker 3: the channel data, not the programming data. I think you
- 40:27Speaker 3: do have to pay a very small monthly fee if
- 40:30Speaker 3: you want the programming data. But then what you do
- 40:32Speaker 3: is you get a program on your computer like VLC
- 40:36Speaker 3: media Player, which is free, and within vl VLC media Player,
- 40:41Speaker 3: you're going to file open network stream and you're gonna
- 40:45Speaker 3: type in the IP address of your HD home Run
- 40:49Speaker 3: and you hit enter, and it's going to pull up
- 40:51Speaker 3: all the channels.
- 40:52Speaker 2: But they actually have their own they actually have their
- 40:54Speaker 2: own application now too.
- 40:55Speaker 3: Oh they do good, okay, okay, So then and it has.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Support for play mb, Jellyfinn, so you can just tie
- 41:03Speaker 2: it into those like just your normal streaming apps. Your
- 41:06Speaker 2: it has an app for TVs. So if you have it,
- 41:09Speaker 2: it's on your network, you can probably see it. You
- 41:12Speaker 2: can stream to your computer, your iPad, your phone, uh,
- 41:15Speaker 2: your computer, et cetera. They have three different versions, home
- 41:20Speaker 2: run Flex Duo which allows you to have two separate
- 41:24Speaker 2: tuners going at the same time, the Flex Squattro four streams,
- 41:28Speaker 2: and then the home run Flex HD.
- 41:30Speaker 3: Yeah. How much is that one?
- 41:32Speaker 4: Two D bucks?
- 41:33Speaker 2: But that gives you four tuners, but it allows you
- 41:35Speaker 2: to decode ATSC three point zero.
- 41:38Speaker 3: Oh that's a big thing, all right.
- 41:39Speaker 4: So that's the big one.
- 41:40Speaker 2: So you can get newer stations that are running ATSD
- 41:43Speaker 2: three point zero instead of getting their other channels that
- 41:45Speaker 2: are only ATSD two point zero or one.
- 41:49Speaker 1: Now, the company that makes it is called Silicon Dust
- 41:52Speaker 1: dot Com. I guess you can find out on the
- 41:54Speaker 1: website there if you want to buy it. But yeah,
- 41:56Speaker 1: there's a little investment. But that's what we paid for
- 41:59Speaker 1: for a HE one than a TVO. Yeah it is.
- 42:02Speaker 1: And then you have paid TVO. I think you pay
- 42:04Speaker 1: a monthly with TVO, don't you.
- 42:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, and you don't have to pay that with
- 42:07Speaker 3: this unless you want the Electronic Programming Guide.
- 42:10Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, that's actually a pretty good idea. That'd be
- 42:13Speaker 1: a way to if you don't want to, you know,
- 42:14Speaker 1: if you want to cut cable. You know, I was
- 42:17Speaker 1: so close to cutting cable and I ended up getting it.
- 42:21Speaker 1: I've called them up to say, hey, listen, you know,
- 42:24Speaker 1: I'm really I'm not liking the bill. It was going
- 42:26Speaker 1: to go up again and I'm already at two seventy, right.
- 42:29Speaker 1: I thought that's just too much. Yeah, So I told her,
- 42:32Speaker 1: you know, I'm paying for this. It's of what TLC, Hallmark,
- 42:37Speaker 1: Hallmark Plus. So I'm paying for this thing called Blast.
- 42:41Speaker 1: And I was told a couple of years ago that
- 42:44Speaker 1: that wasn't even needed anymore because I'm already getting the
- 42:47Speaker 1: higher speeds. But it was me following through. It's my
- 42:49Speaker 1: own fault. So she says to me right off the bat, well,
- 42:53Speaker 1: I can rework this and save you about one hundred
- 42:56Speaker 1: and twenty dollars. She did, one hundred twenty bucks a month.
- 42:59Speaker 1: I'm saving it.
- 43:00Speaker 3: This is an actual Comcast representative.
- 43:01Speaker 1: Yeah, so get in the same internet speeds. They're actually
- 43:05Speaker 1: saving you money, saving me money. And she then said
- 43:09Speaker 1: I can do something better for you. Who is your
- 43:12Speaker 1: phone service provided through? And I told her, and she said, well,
- 43:17Speaker 1: we can bring you over to our mobile service and
- 43:21Speaker 1: I can give you this. This is why Exfinity is
- 43:24Speaker 1: trying really hard to keep its customers, because there's been
- 43:27Speaker 1: kind of an exodus recently. Yeah, she says, I can
- 43:30Speaker 1: give you free mobile service for a year. Wait what Yeah,
- 43:34Speaker 1: considering I've been paying ninety dollars a month, that adds
- 43:40Speaker 1: up to quite a bit. Then after the year's up,
- 43:42Speaker 1: I'll pay forty four dollars. So who does Exfinity write
- 43:46Speaker 1: off of though?
- 43:47Speaker 3: What towers? They write off?
- 43:48Speaker 1: Horizon woo, So at least that's what I've been led
- 43:52Speaker 1: to believe. So ok, And I thought, let's see, and
- 43:56Speaker 1: I have had no problems traveling between Marie and Green Valley,
- 44:02Speaker 1: being on my device in Green Valley, it's been great.
- 44:05Speaker 1: So your device shows that you're on Comcast. Yes, it
- 44:08Speaker 1: says Infinity Mobile my carrier. And then I said, well,
- 44:13Speaker 1: what if I want to what if I want to
- 44:15Speaker 1: do a second line from my business since our Skype
- 44:19Speaker 1: number is going to be going away, And she said
- 44:21Speaker 1: it's twenty dollars extra, that's it per month.
- 44:25Speaker 3: That's actually not too bad. I mean, they have really
- 44:27Speaker 3: been making some changes honestly with comcasts, because you're right,
- 44:31Speaker 3: it's been an exodus. I mean with the streaming culture, right, Sean,
- 44:34Speaker 3: do you have cable? No? You have YouTube TV though, right.
- 44:36Speaker 2: Yeah, we share, so we piggyback off of Kalon's are
- 44:41Speaker 2: my loss with YouTube TV?
- 44:42Speaker 3: All right? Yeah? Yeah?
- 44:43Speaker 2: Because and because they moved to Kalamazoo, you no longer
- 44:46Speaker 2: have to pay extra because that's within the distance.
- 44:48Speaker 1: How about the bringing the signal in far as the internet?
- 44:52Speaker 1: How are you getting that high speed connection?
- 44:54Speaker 4: So fiber?
- 44:56Speaker 3: So it's fiber, so it's pretty good delivery.
- 44:58Speaker 4: We have we have, we have Metronet fiber. We're here,
- 45:00Speaker 4: and I get gig up, gigged down.
- 45:02Speaker 3: I think I paid me too, not eighty bucks a month.
- 45:06Speaker 3: I think I've got quantum, which is Century Link lumen,
- 45:09Speaker 3: and I get about I get I think mine's seventy
- 45:11Speaker 3: five and yeah, well I about eighty bucks, right, and
- 45:14Speaker 3: then I get gig up and down.
- 45:15Speaker 2: But I mean it's it's crazy. I mean, I really
- 45:18Speaker 2: enjoy our Internet. It's been good. And because it's fiber,
- 45:23Speaker 2: it's not down when the power went out, right, So
- 45:27Speaker 2: all I did was just plugged in my modem. The
- 45:29Speaker 2: modem in my router or in my TV into my
- 45:32Speaker 2: DJA power box and often running me were so Maxican
- 45:35Speaker 2: watches YouTube and not be grabby about it.
- 45:38Speaker 1: But all right, So now have you guys heard about
- 45:41Speaker 1: MOCA and coffee.
- 45:44Speaker 3: No, it's MCAA.
- 45:47Speaker 1: I have just been looking into this recently, and I've
- 45:50Speaker 1: been kind of surprised. When I had my house built
- 45:53Speaker 1: the other part of Tucson, we had it built with
- 45:56Speaker 1: Cat five throughout the home, so each room at CAT
- 46:00Speaker 1: five connection, and there was a head in in our closet,
- 46:03Speaker 1: and I had a god one of the really good firewalls,
- 46:07Speaker 1: a hardware firewall we had. It was really a really
- 46:10Speaker 1: well done system. But also also I ran the server
- 46:13Speaker 1: for Gloria's business. She did medical building at the time,
- 46:15Speaker 1: and you know, we had to buy the software and
- 46:17Speaker 1: the whole bit, and I loved it.
- 46:19Speaker 4: Well.
- 46:20Speaker 1: Of course, you know, we moved and the house that
- 46:22Speaker 1: I'm in did not have that, and I missed that.
- 46:25Speaker 4: So I have.
- 46:26Speaker 1: Tried doing the one line connection from Tepee Link and
- 46:29Speaker 1: that was okay, it wasn't as reliable as I had
- 46:32Speaker 1: hoped for. What we've been using is a tepee Link
- 46:35Speaker 1: now wireless connection, which is a kind of a wireless
- 46:39Speaker 1: bridge to our studio.
- 46:40Speaker 3: That's okay.
- 46:41Speaker 1: But now I've heard about Mocha and what it is
- 46:44Speaker 1: is Internet over coacts. Now, if you think about so
- 46:48Speaker 1: many homes now are doing doing the streaming via a
- 46:53Speaker 1: router in their home. A lot of homes are wired
- 46:56Speaker 1: already for co acts, and apparently what it does is
- 46:59Speaker 1: you have one device at one near your router and
- 47:03Speaker 1: the other device near your other room or whatever, and
- 47:07Speaker 1: you can actually do Internet over coacts. I don't know
- 47:10Speaker 1: how fast it is yet. Trend net as US, there's
- 47:14Speaker 1: some other companies that have these devices. I'm trying to
- 47:16Speaker 1: get my hands on one of these so I could
- 47:18Speaker 1: give it a test and see. But think about that,
- 47:21Speaker 1: so many people have had their homes wired for co acts,
- 47:24Speaker 1: they're not even using the co acts now, So this
- 47:27Speaker 1: would be one way to expand the network throughout your
- 47:30Speaker 1: home via.
- 47:31Speaker 3: The coax connections.
- 47:32Speaker 1: And it's called Moca and might be something to try out.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Not too expensive too, but two hundred bucks I think.
- 47:39Speaker 2: Or one dred and fifty hundred and ninety bucks and
- 47:42Speaker 2: they're saying it can do two.
- 47:43Speaker 4: And a half gig.
- 47:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's two that's so that's two connections. So
- 47:49Speaker 1: imagine in my situation where we have a we have
- 47:51Speaker 1: a switch, or we have a hub in our studio.
- 47:54Speaker 1: It's all I need being able to come off that line.
- 47:57Speaker 1: So it is really cool. I might just give it
- 48:00Speaker 1: a try and see what we think about it. She
- 48:03Speaker 1: just heard about this, and when I did, it was
- 48:05Speaker 1: kind of like, whoa wait, you could do that? You know,
- 48:07Speaker 1: that would solve a lot of problems because my next
- 48:09Speaker 1: solution was actually going to be to bring a contractor
- 48:11Speaker 1: in and have them wire the house with Cat six
- 48:14Speaker 1: and go that rip route. Everybody's telling me your nuts
- 48:17Speaker 1: just to wireless, but just my experience with wired has
- 48:21Speaker 1: always just been so good. All right, now, justin you
- 48:24Speaker 1: have Google TV, So I wanted to ask you about
- 48:27Speaker 1: the home panel. It's something you haven't seen yet though, right,
- 48:31Speaker 1: I mean.
- 48:31Speaker 3: I personally haven't seen it. Yeah, this thing about Google's
- 48:34Speaker 3: home panel where you can control your lights and thermostat
- 48:37Speaker 3: and see your doorbell. I mean I am in a
- 48:39Speaker 3: Google household. Everything I have. I have Google speakers, I
- 48:42Speaker 3: have the Google Nest, I have the Google doorbell. I
- 48:46Speaker 3: mean I have the Google four K streamer on multiple TVs.
- 48:49Speaker 3: I have not seen this Google Home panel. I don't
- 48:53Speaker 3: know what it's about, though, there's talk about this now.
- 48:55Speaker 1: So you'd be watching your Google TV and you would
- 48:59Speaker 1: be able to to actually bring up the home panel,
- 49:02Speaker 1: and with the home panel, see what your thermostat is
- 49:04Speaker 1: set for, get a doorbell ring, see what the doorbell,
- 49:08Speaker 1: who's at the door, or again, anything else that you'd
- 49:13Speaker 1: want to do. You'd be able to check that out
- 49:15Speaker 1: again with the home panel. And apparently now they're saying
- 49:18Speaker 1: it's rolled out and expanding to actually chrome Cast devices
- 49:22Speaker 1: because now it's Google TV. Chrome Cast has kind of
- 49:24Speaker 1: gone away, but if you have a chrome Cast device,
- 49:27Speaker 1: you'd be able to utilize that with the chrome Cast device.
- 49:31Speaker 1: So either way, it's something to look for, justin I
- 49:34Speaker 1: think you're gonna look that up and see if you
- 49:36Speaker 1: can get that.
- 49:37Speaker 3: I'm looking at right now. I'm trying to search for
- 49:39Speaker 3: it on the TV right all right? Cool? Well, I've
- 49:43Speaker 3: never seen it though, I don't know. This is interesting
- 49:45Speaker 3: because I would love to be able to see who
- 49:48Speaker 3: is at my door when somebody comes ringing my doorbell,
- 49:50Speaker 3: or you know, change up. Sorry about that, Yeah, yeah, no,
- 49:54Speaker 3: it doesn't it doesn't have it. I don't see it Android,
- 49:57Speaker 3: I see serious exam Google play games, I see buttons.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Is there a play store that maybe you have to
- 50:04Speaker 1: download this?
- 50:05Speaker 3: This is the play store?
- 50:06Speaker 1: Oh well, I just don't see it right, the home
- 50:09Speaker 1: pack don't see it unless it's only for TVs that
- 50:14Speaker 1: have Google TVs.
- 50:16Speaker 3: Well, maybe it's for the TV em bed. But this
- 50:18Speaker 3: is the this is their most expensive Google streamer. I mean,
- 50:21Speaker 3: this is the four K Google streamer. I feel like
- 50:24Speaker 3: I feel like we should have this on the most
- 50:27Speaker 3: expensive thing.
- 50:27Speaker 1: All right, we'll look more into this and maybe we'll
- 50:29Speaker 1: have some more info next week. I've got a question.
- 50:32Speaker 1: I know that justin you saw the movie Minecraft. You
- 50:36Speaker 1: took your son go see it, Sean, have you seen
- 50:39Speaker 1: that one yet?
- 50:40Speaker 3: No?
- 50:40Speaker 4: I have not. I just know there's something to do
- 50:42Speaker 4: with chickens.
- 50:43Speaker 3: Chicken chicken Jockey.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Oh yeah, what the heck is with that? They're destroying theaters, right.
- 50:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a it's a it's kind of it's a
- 50:50Speaker 3: social media thing. In the movie, there's a scene where
- 50:54Speaker 3: Jack Black has to face off against a child looking
- 50:58Speaker 3: zombie who's writing a chicken and they call him the
- 51:02Speaker 3: chicken Jockey, and Jack Black gets his butt kicked by
- 51:05Speaker 3: this chicken jockey.
- 51:08Speaker 4: Anyway.
- 51:08Speaker 3: But yeah, kids and even adults now they go to
- 51:12Speaker 3: a movie theater. There was even this one situation where
- 51:14Speaker 3: somebody actually smuggled in a live chicken into a theater. No, no, no,
- 51:20Speaker 3: And when that scene came out, they released the chicken
- 51:23Speaker 3: into the theater and the chicken was flopping all around
- 51:25Speaker 3: the theater and people are throwing popcorn everywhere and just
- 51:29Speaker 3: basically destroying the theater. It got to the point where
- 51:33Speaker 3: Jack Black himself showed up to a Los Angeles area
- 51:37Speaker 3: theater and before the movie started, he came out with
- 51:42Speaker 3: nobody knowing who it was him right, and was like,
- 51:44Speaker 3: it's time for the Minecraft movie. And then like he
- 51:47Speaker 3: was like, and keep in mind, no chicken jockies, and
- 51:52Speaker 3: I am Steve. That's his character, nilty, And everybody went
- 51:57Speaker 3: nuts when they saw Jack Black in the theater. But yeah, anyway,
- 52:01Speaker 3: Minecraft movie actually really really good. All right.
- 52:05Speaker 1: This new one that came out last couple of weeks ago, Thunderbolts,
- 52:08Speaker 1: which is anybody seeing that one yet?
- 52:11Speaker 3: No? Nope, nope. It's part of the Marvel series. I
- 52:13Speaker 3: guess Marvel. Marvel is just getting it's just getting.
- 52:17Speaker 2: But I haven't had time to do anything at home
- 52:20Speaker 2: or anything for myself in the last month.
- 52:24Speaker 3: I'm not going to the movies. You're not gonna go
- 52:26Speaker 3: to the movies. You should just take a moment and say,
- 52:28Speaker 3: you know what, I'm going out tonight. I'm gonna go
- 52:30Speaker 3: watch a movie by myself. There you go. I like
- 52:33Speaker 3: my life, I know, but you like your mental health too.
- 52:37Speaker 3: Sometimes you just need that chance.
- 52:39Speaker 1: All right, we gotta take another quick break. We come
- 52:41Speaker 1: back with more of tech Talk Radio.
- 52:43Speaker 3: I'm Andy Taylor, I'm Sean de Weird, and I'm justin.
- 52:46Speaker 3: Let me find us on x at tech Talk Radio.
- 52:49Speaker 3: We'll be right back and now back to tech talk Radio.
- 52:53Speaker 3: I'm like one trip shy of a free trip, and
- 52:56Speaker 3: I just think it and I may say that a
- 52:57Speaker 3: lot about you. A couple of weeks ago, I took
- 53:04Speaker 3: Eric to the local hobby shop and we just stumbled
- 53:07Speaker 3: across BattleBots, right live BattleBots happening at the hobby store,
- 53:13Speaker 3: except these were miniature BattleBots. However, they did have one
- 53:18Speaker 3: of the actual big BattleBots from the actual show. I
- 53:22Speaker 3: can't remember the name of it though, but it was
- 53:24Speaker 3: one of them anyway, but it was there. There's a
- 53:26Speaker 3: website called bot rumble dot com. Oh, it's a page.
- 53:31Speaker 3: I think it started in Denver, Colorado, but it is okay, yeah,
- 53:37Speaker 3: see my phone is going off on it page rumble. Yeah.
- 53:41Speaker 3: Based in Colorado. Bought Rumble is a combat robotics organization,
- 53:45Speaker 3: but they're trying to spread around. However, even if bot
- 53:48Speaker 3: rumble dot com isn't the site for you, there is
- 53:51Speaker 3: a massive influx of people going and trying out these
- 53:55Speaker 3: miniature battle bots and you can you can buy these
- 53:58Speaker 3: kits that include like the servos and the motors, and
- 54:01Speaker 3: they come in two different styles. You can do like
- 54:03Speaker 3: you can do combat bots, which are actually with weapons,
- 54:07Speaker 3: or you can do pushbots, which are just gonna kind
- 54:09Speaker 3: of push you in the corner. But these miniature bots
- 54:12Speaker 3: are amazing and kids love this kind of stuff. You
- 54:15Speaker 3: can build your own robots. It gets you into like
- 54:18Speaker 3: thinking about three D printing, because you're gonna print the
- 54:21Speaker 3: cases for them, and then you're just gonna put yeah,
- 54:24Speaker 3: you're just gonna put all the electronics inside, and then
- 54:26Speaker 3: you take them to your local hobby stores. And again,
- 54:28Speaker 3: bot Rumble is something local to Colorado, but I guarantee
- 54:31Speaker 3: you there's gonna be plenty of these different sites around
- 54:35Speaker 3: that are doing this. But kids love this kind of stuff.
- 54:38Speaker 3: When I took Eric there, there were so many kids
- 54:40Speaker 3: of his age, eight, nine, ten, eleven years old, and
- 54:43Speaker 3: then there was the adults, you know, thirty forty whatever
- 54:46Speaker 3: years old, and everybody was having such a good time.
- 54:49Speaker 3: Everybody was helping each other out, diagnosing problems with the robots.
- 54:54Speaker 3: It's such a cool thing. Man, give us a website.
- 54:57Speaker 3: Youd dressed once again. Well this one was bot rumbled,
- 55:00Speaker 3: but all right. In over fact, it's just like, look,
- 55:02Speaker 3: look up, look up your local hobby store, see if
- 55:04Speaker 3: they have any battle bots type of organizations in your area.
- 55:09Speaker 3: All right, I love it.
- 55:10Speaker 1: That wraps up this week's tech talk Radio. If you
- 55:12Speaker 1: have a question, drop us a line tech guys at
- 55:14Speaker 1: tech talk radio dot com.
- 55:16Speaker 3: I'm Andy the.
- 55:17Speaker 4: Creeper, I'm Shonda Weird.
- 55:19Speaker 3: And I'm Justin, the old guy that searches your name
- 55:21Speaker 3: on rock. We'll see you next time. Have a good one.
