Transcript
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Daily Rider, where we share a lesson each day to help you cultivate the habits for creative success.
- 0:12SPEAKER_00: What does it take to achieve a dream?
- 0:16SPEAKER_00: This is the question everybody asks whenever they see someone who accomplishes something great.
- 0:21SPEAKER_00: Whenever we see an Olympic medalist, a baseball hall of famer, or an actress receiving an Oscar, what is our first response?
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: We all look at each other and ask, how did they get there?
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: How in the world did they do that?
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Well, we like to ask these questions because we think there's some kind of shortcut to success.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: We think there's a magical pill that some people have been privileged to get, and the rest of us are just left high and dry.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: We don't want to admit that success in reaching our dreams is just a matter of doing the work over a long period of time.
- 0:53SPEAKER_00: In fact, the process of reaching your dream looks a lot like good old fashioned sweat.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: As John Maxwell once said, dreams don't work unless you do.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: Do you have a writing dream?
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: If so, it's not going to happen by accident.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: It's going to take work, and it's going to take lots of it.
- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Dreams come alive when you nourish them with the sweat from your toil and effort.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: Are you ready to get to work?
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: Thanks so much for listening to today's episode.
